my favorite thing about stories, be it books or manga, tv shows or movies, or even epic poems and recited songs, is that they never really end -- the part we tell might end: there will always be a last page, or a last episode, a list minute, or a last line, but not really -- because even if it ends here, the story itself keeps on going -- in your heart, in your mind, in the hearts and minds of everyone who's read it or watched it, listened to it or sang it.
and the best part of all that is, even if it does "end", you can go right back to the beginning and start again.
because yes, stories end. the ending will always be there.
but then, so will the beginning.

Found Family Anime Recs
I recently reblogged a list of found family anime recs and was a bit surprised by how many reblogs and likes it got. I had really reblogged it just so I can find it later to watch the shows I hadn't already seen on the list, but apparently I have a lot of followers who are interested in this topic! Well, I've watched a lot of anime, so here are ten found family anime shows that I absolutely love. These are in no particular order.
Buddy Daddies
This show is similar enough to Spy X Family that you might be tempted to call it a rip-off. It's really quite different though. There's a lot less comedy (though there's still SOME comedy) and a lot more healing from past trauma. The animation is gorgeous, and the relationships really tug at my heart. It's more realistic than Spy X Family, in some ways, though it's still pretty ridiculous. The melodrama in the last couple of episodes did annoy me a bit, but it's still a very satisfying show. It's like a fanfiction I would write, which is really the highest recommendation I can give, haha, because that means it's exactly the kind of story I would like.
2. Samurai Champloo
This show was made by much of the same team that created Cowboy Bebop, but for some reason it never got the same cult status, which is really too bad. I love Cowboy Bebop, but I love Samurai Champloo more. It's about two ronin and a teenage girl traveling through Edo-era Japan to find someone the girl is looking for. Throughout the series, the three form a very strong bond, despite all of their communication difficulties and past traumas. I've rewatched this show probably more than any other anime. It's brutal at times, but so very satisfying.
3. Natsume Yuujin-cho
Natsume lost his parents as a young child and was passed around from relative to relative, most of whom couldn't deal with him because his ability to see yokai (Japanese folk spirits) made him a freak in their eyes. As the series starts, he's finally taken in by an older couple in a rural village who actually want him, and he's finally able to start forming connections with other people and find a support system with his new caretakers, his peers, and the yokai he tries to help. It's a very sweet, sad series, much more sentimental than the first two entries on this list, but a very soothing and lovely watch when you are in need of some relaxation. Warning, though, the flashbacks to Natsume's past families can be truly gutwrenching. He was not treated well for a very long time, and it's hard to stomach.
4. Barakamon
Handa is a calligrapher who gets essentially exiled to a remote island after causing problems on purpose. He has a hard time connecting with people and is struggling with his art. Over the course of the story, he forms relationships with his neighbors, especially an adorable child with possibly the best child voice-acting I've ever heard, and slowly rediscovers his joy in creation again. It's cute and funny and beautiful, and it makes me want to live on a remote Japanese island.
5. My Roommate Is a Cat
Subaru is a young novelist who recently lost his parents, who were pretty much his only connection to humanity. While trying to recover from this massive loss, he adopts a stray cat who quickly becomes the most important creature in his life. Through the cat, he begins to form relationships with other people, as well. The show is unique in that the first half of each episode is from the human's POV and the second half is from the cat's POV. It's a very lovely and soothing show. Pets are family, too!
6. Haikyuu
Haikyuu was the show that opened my eyes to the aspect of found family in sports anime. I know a lot of tumblr enjoys Haikyuu for the shipping, but to me it's more satisfying to view it through the lens of found family. Each team is essentially their own found family, in their own unique way, and the relationships are particularly realistic and well-depicted by this mangaka. I love Tanaka being a big brother to the first years, Kuroo and Kenma's mutual protectiveness and support, all of it.
7. Kuroko no Basuke
This is the silly basketball show, and in my opinion it's not as good as Haikyuu, but I love the relationships here as well. Especially between Kuroko and Kagami, of course. Their mutual protectiveness is just chef's kiss. But the whole Seirin team is really great. I love them so much. The teamy goodness is what makes the silliness watchable for me.
8. One Piece
What is there to say about One Piece? This is, like, the ultimate found family show. All of the pirate crews with any kind of goodness at their core are found families, but especially the Strawhats. Luffy is just going around looking at people and declaring, "Okay, you're in my family (on my crew) now." If you've never watched One Piece before, I'm going to make an unorthodox recommendation and suggest you watch the live action Netflix adaption first. It does a really good job of capturing the feel and aesthetic and just pure loveliness of this story in a much more compact and approachable way than the anime. However, if you like it, I do recommend that you watch the anime from the beginning, because there is a lot of expansion on the themes there, and the characterization is slightly different. Usopp in particular kinda got shorted in the live action, so you'll understand him a lot more if you watch his introduction arc in the anime. But honestly both versions are great. I'm on my third rewatch of the live action version already, and I will watch and rewatch the anime until I die, probably. One of my favorite stories of all time.
9. The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash
I found this one slightly annoying in how it was obviously carefully designed to tug at my heartstrings, but it's working, so I don't have much right to complain. It's about a little kid driven out of her home who gradually gathers a found family of both monsters she tames and adult adventurers and guardsmen who take one look at this lonely child and go, "Well, guess I have a baby now." The isekai element is very lowkey, in that she basically just has a voice in her head giving her advice, and I like that it's about fighting local corruption instead of a demon army or what have you. I want more shows like this and less shows like every other generic isekai, haha.
10. Dungeon Meshi
This show is blowing up tumblr right now, so you've probably already seen it a billion times, but I'm going to make one more appeal for you to watch/read this story. It is so, so so good. And in my opinion, it is much MUCH more about family, both born and found, than it is about shipping. I could write a whole essay about Marcille and Falin's relationship that has nothing to do with romance, as I could for any other two (or three or four) characters in the main party, plus those outside. There is a LOT going on. I've been playing RPGs and LARPs for twenty years, and one reason I love the hobby so much is for the joy of creating found families with my best friends in new and different worlds, over and over again. This is the first piece of fiction I've found that really captures that particular aspect of party-based fantasy stories, the relationships that form and grow, the tight-knit bonds that keep everyone moving forward despite the monsters you must face (and consume).

cw: atsumu x reader, fem!reader, kissing, fluff, reader has a backstory, mention of someone dying, reader has a little brother, set in college
wc: 3.8k
A/n: I've been having Atsumu brainrot, mans literally has me rewatching Haikyuu for him.
Tumblr media
"....Y/n-chan?" A sudden voice pulls you out of your head, you turn and see Isa standing there, waving her hand in front of her face. "Goodness, were you even listening?" She pulls a stern look, but you know that she's only pretending.
You just made it back to school after taking a year off for family issues. You needed to clear your head. Thankfully, the college let you come back, but there was one issue. You had to redo your first year. When you first heard this, you were taken aback. But after some time, you decided that you'd actually benefit from this. Being able to meet new people and not having to worry about others in your original grade level ask about what happened and why you were gone for so long.
Isa, your friend since your second year in middle school, opens her mouth to talk, but you can't hear what she's saying. Your mind is still clouded with memories of what happened just a few weeks prior.
Before you took off a year, it had been the beginning of your first year in college. But before you even had time to get accustomed and find out what major you wanted to take, you received news from your brother that his dad had died. You and your brother have different dads, and you were never close with his dad, only remembering him from when he was a drunk and always demanding everyone's attention and time. So the news wasn't that life-impacting for you, but you can't say the same for your brother. You took a year off because you knew that your brother needed you, he was only a first-year in middle school and needed all the support he could get.
"....But anyway, that's all that you missed." Isa's voice comes back into your mind, purging the memories of seeing your brother crying with a small black suit on. "So, do you know what you want to major in now?" She smiles at you, but the smile vanishes when she notices that you aren't paying attention again. "Seriously, you need to focus. I know that someone in your family just died but.." "He wasn't in my family," you interject. You don't want people to hear that he died, you don't want the pity looks -- you can't stand the pity looks.
"Right, not in your family." She stares at you before finishing, "But seriously, you need to focus. This isn't high school, you can't just cheat on everything." Isa raises her hands in mock surrender when you give her a pointed look. You understand what she means, you have to pay attention in class. You shouldn't let these thoughts get ahold of you.
"Culinary." Isa gives you a confused stare, not expecting the word to come out of your mouth. "I want to major in culinary." The look never leaves her face. "But you don't like cooking, and you've almost burned down my kitchen every time you've tried to cook."
You nod your head, "Yeah, I know. But over my break, I cooked for my family and realized that it helps." "So, like a coping mechanism?" You nod at that, yeah you guess it is a coping mechanism. You know her question before it leaves her mouth. "I'm going to major in culinary and take business classes afterward."
Again, "Bakery." The one word ceases the confusion written all over Isa's face. "Okay, did you get everything filled out? I can help if you want." You give her a pointed look and a playful glare, "You just started college, like, yesterday. There's no way you know how to help me already."
You both laugh. "Alright, this is me. See you later, and hey, tell me if there are any cute guys!" Isa waves you goodbye and rushes into her class. You let a small smile mold onto your face, only Isa knows how to make you smile when your mind is covered in darkness.
Tumblr media
You make your way into the building. The culinary class is in the fine arts building and has its own cafeteria. To say you got lost more than once would be an understatement. You cringe at the embarrassment of having to ask three different people how to get to the culinary building.
You rushed into the class and finally made it. But now you wished you didn't. More than half of the class were looking at you, their eyes drawn to you like a magnet. You pushed some hair behind your ear and walked down to an open seat. But before you could sit, the professor calls you up to the class. A sigh leaves your mouth, you hope this won't be too embarrassing.
"Miss, L/n, mind telling me why you're late?" You put your head down, your hair fanning over your eyes, concealing them from everyone else in the room. "Sorry, I got lost. I-" "How many times have I heard that excuse?" The professor sighed and looked around the room. Everyone looked away, trying not to get caught. From the looks of it, everyone is supposed to be taking notes, writing on the whiteboard is what gave it away.
"Mr. Miya." Two boys flinched, but only one of them raised their head. He has blonde hair, more like orange, and his eyes a light brown. He smiled sheepishly, "Hey teach." His tone was full of awkwardness as if he was embarrassed that he was caught. "This isn't your class, go back to your own." The professor gave him a small glare, looks like you're both not her favorite people. "Aw, come one, Mrs. Greene. Practice ended early," Miya smiled.
She sighed and looked back over to you, then nodded over to Miya. "You don't need the notes today. Take it as a small punishment for not coming early," she finished with small malice in her tone. "Atsumu, give the new kid a tour." You were about to interject, to tell her that you've been here before. But Atsumu already grabbed your hand and dragged you out of the class.
After you two were father away and you couldn't hear the small giggles from the room, Atsumu dropped your hand and placed his behind his head. "That class is a snooze, why do people even take it?" He wasn't asking you, which was obvious. But you still answered, "Mainly because they want to." You didn't mean for your voice to be full of malice, it just came out like that. You expected Atsumu to be a little mad, but he only looked at you from the corner of his eye and laughed a little bit. "Yeah, I guess that's why."
You thanked that he wasn't mad, thankful that he let the comment roll down his back. "Anyway, what do you take?" You should elaborate, but Atsumu understood. "Volleyball, I like it. It helps me forget about stupid things, and it's fun to play." He smiled after he finished talking about his favorite sport. "Yeah, that's why I take culinary. It helps me forget about things." Why are you telling him this? It took half a year for you to tell Isa, your best friend, why you took a year off of school. But this boy, you just open your mouth and the words pour out.
"What things?" Atsumu's hands are back down by his side, resting inside of his pants pockets. He gives you a confused look, not a pitiful look, or a pushing one. He's just genuinely curious. And before you could stop yourself, the words leave your mouth. As if he's pulling them out of your throat. "My stepdad, well not anymore, my mom divorced him a while ago, he died last year. He drank himself to death, he was supposed to quit, he told my brother and mother that he'd quit. But he started up again and this time he.." You look down, not wanting to finish the last few words.
Atsumu understood though. He finished what you were going to say in his mind. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to make you remember it." "Oh, don't be sorry. He hasn't been in my family for a while now, and I don't really care. He was an asshole. Guess that makes me selfish, huh?" Atsumu shook his head, his hand making its way up to your back, moving you away from a passerby riding a bike. "Nah, you're not selfish, he lost your trust, that doesn't make you selfish."
That's the first time someone told you that you aren't selfish for thinking this way. Everyone else gave you glares and told you to shut your mouth, but this boy that you just met told you the words you've been waiting to hear. "So you like cooking because it helps you forget about him?" It took you a second to remember why you even started talking about your old stepdad. And after that second, you nodded, your face back to its fake brightness. "Yeah, but it's not just that. I like to cook, used to hate it honestly, but now it helps me and I can make good treats." You put on a fake smile and walked a little faster, wanting to get done with the doom and gloom talk.
Tumblr media
After the tour, which you didn't really need, was over, you both headed back to the dorms. The sun was almost setting, which shocked you. The college was so big that it took you almost a full day to go over. But it wasn't just the buildings you went over, Atsumu showed you some private spots that he visits when he needs to clear his head. Of course, one of those spots was the volleyball gym, but also some really beautiful places. You didn't expect a jock to be this nice and have some personality.
"Which one is your dorm?" Ever the gentleman, he wants to walk you to your dorm. But too bad for him, you don't live in a dorm, you were able to get your own apartment last year. Thank god the lease didn't expire when you went back to your hometown to see your family. The owner only smiled and wished you luck, you're so grateful to have a landlord like him.
"I have my own apartment, so no need to walk me home." Atsumu's eyes shined, his smile even wider than when he was talking about volleyball, which was really wide. "Cool! Can I come over?" Usually, you'd say no, of course, you'd say no. A boy is asking to come over and you live alone. But the puppy eyes Atsumu gives you make you give in, which is a new thing. The only puppy eyes that work on you are from Isa and your little brother.
Atsumu's smile got even bigger when he heard your sigh. "Fine, but no staying long. I have a friend coming over later."
You both made it to the apartment and headed inside. "This is really nice!" His hands roamed around, his fingers tracing patterns on the tapestry hanging on the wall. He went to the kitchen to look around some more when you suddenly remembered your room. Clothes are everywhere, and what's worse is certain clothes that a boy shouldn't see are on your floor. You rushed to your room, slamming the door and quickly cleaning up.
Atsumu's knock at the door made you stop in your tracks. "Everything okay?" He sounded worried, you could almost picture his eyes full of worry and confusion. You almost smile at the thought. You gently slap your cheek, snap out of it, he's just a boy. But that brings a blush to your face, a boy is in your house and you're alone.
Thoughts form in your mind and the blush deepens. You quickly open the door, out of breath and disheveled, "Yeah, perfectly fine!" His hand comes up and rests against your forehead, "Are you okay? Your face is really red." Your blush deepens even more and you swat his hand away. "Yeah, I'm fine, just come on." You push away from your room and walk to the front door, "You got the tour, now leave. My friend is coming over soon."
After the door closes, you sigh and slump against it. The blush finally goes away. You wish you could go inside your brain and wire yourself to not like Atsumu. But it's obvious from the thoughts and the blush that this stems more than like.
After a fun night with Isa, aka just drinking and watching cheesy rom-cons, you ushered her to leave. Once everything was clean and the lights were out, you made your way to bed.
Tumblr media
"Okay class, today we're going to the cafeteria. You need to make some cake, make sure to look at your notes for reference!" Mrs. Greene shouted out before everyone left.
Everyone got to the cafeteria and made their way to the kitchen, all the equipment already lined up and clean. You're confused as to what cake everyone is making, but from the small whispers you concluded that it's whatever cake you really wanted. You decided to make something easy, a moist strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting.
After an hour of baking, everyone was assigned to put their cakes up and let the chef decide which one is the best. A competition, you suppose. You placed your cake on the tray and then placed it where everyone else put theirs.
"Your cake looks nice," a small, almost tired-sounding voice followed you back to the section of the kitchen where everyone is standing. "Oh, thanks," you gave the person a small smile, but it faltered when you saw who was talking to you. Is this a trick? Did Atsumu dye his hair? The stranger noticed your widened eyes that were staring up at his hair and quickly said, "I'm Osamu, Atsumu's brother." The shock wore off and you quickly nodded. "Oh, that makes sense. Nice to meet you." You were going to say your name, but Osamu shook his head. "I know your name, Y/n right? Atsumu wouldn't stop talking about you last night."
A small blush made its way up to your ears, he was thinking, no, talking about you last night? You thought you were crazy for thinking about Atsumu last night, not daring to voice those thoughts to Isa, but Atsumu was thinking about you too? The thought brings a small smile to your face. How nice, a random boy whom you just met, and that you're in love with, you think, has been thinking and talking about you last night.
The chef, more or less the instructor, clears his throat and you direct your attention back to him. He gives the class a kind smile, in complete contrast to Mrs. Greene, and points at your cake. "This one is the winner," he looks over at you and smiles again, "Great job, Y/n." Everyone claps, and you feel very accomplished, but also a little empty. It's hard to explain, you just got praise from your class and the instructor, but you feel like you haven't gotten praise from the one person that matters. And that person isn't Isa, she would praise you every time you made something that she could eat.
You're missing praise from a certain teasing blonde.
"Alright, now you can all eat some cake, but save room for lunch!" The instructor calls over everyone since they're talking. You take a piece from your own cake and wrap it up, saving it for the man who's intruding on your thoughts. The instructor looks at you confused, usually people take a piece of cake from other people's cake. "It's for someone else, Mr. Greene," Osamu butts in and explains How did he know? Also, Mr. Greene? As in Mrs. Greene? Mr. Greene and Mrs. Greene are married?
You shake off the thoughts, that's not important right now. You say your goodbyes and head to the volleyball gym. But footsteps that aren't yours stop you in your tracks. You turn your head and see Osamu walking up to you. He holds up the bento as a way of getting you to understand. "If I don't bring Atsumu some lunch, he'll get pouty and won't shut up about it the whole night." You make a small 'ah' sound and carry on to the gym. But a thought stops you again. "Wait, do you and Atsumu share a dorm? How? I tried to get in with Isa but they wouldn't let me." Osamu shakes his head, "No, we have our own apartment down the street from campus. Thought it would be better that way," he explains.
Your face drops, are you serious? Why did Atsumu act so excited last night if he also has his own apartment? What's this guy's motive? "Don't try to figure him out," Osamu interrupts your thoughts. "It'll only give you a headache." He shakes his head and sighs. A small mutter of 'stupid Atsumu' was heard from his mouth, but you didn't point anything out.
You both made it to the gym after a short walk paired with a little small talk. The sounds of balls smacking the ground were heard from outside and you flinched a little. How aren't they hurt? You sighed and walked into the gym, almost getting hit in the face before you had time to shut the door. A little shriek left your mouth and every player hyperfocused on you. You felt small under their stares.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" A tall guy with owl-colored hair shouted. "There's a girl!" Another boy, a little shorter with orange hair also shouted. The ladder jumped over and smiled at you, despite him being shorter than the first guy, he was still taller than you. "My name is Shoyo, what's yours?"
"Y/n!" Atsumu shouted as he waved at you, jogging over to you. The shorter boy, Shoyo, looked over to the sudden shout. "You know her?" Shoyo asked. Atsumu smiled at you and then looked down at the bento in your hands. "Mm, is that for me?"
You followed his eyes, when did the bento get into your hands? You looked over to see Osamu, but he wasn't there. Your face fell, did he really just leave you alone with a bunch of men you've never met before, minus Atsumu? The weight left your hands and you looked back down to see the bento in Atsumu's hands. "Thank you," he smiled. "Oh, actually that's from your-" but he walked away before you could finish.
"We're practicing so you're going to have to leave," a boy with curly black hair told you. "Oh be nice Sakusa," the owl-looking boy said, "But he's right, you're going to have to leave, bye-bye!" He waved at you. Before you leave, you can hear Atsumu, "Hey, don't rush her, Bokuto!"
You smile and shake your head, and this time you don't try to hide the smile. Finally accepting that maybe you're starting to like this playful boy.
Tumblr media
"Oh, really?" You giggled. It's been over five months since you met Atsumu and, as his rule, you have to call each other every night. If you don't call him, he gets super pouty and complains about it all day.
Atsumu's telling you about his day, talking about how he set the perfect ball for Bokuto and how they crushed the other team. They had a tournament early today, and they now, which you professed how you're super proud of him and his team. In the background, you can hear Osamu yell for Atsumu to shut up and go to sleep.
It's half past 11 and Atsumu seems super wired, still full of adrenaline from their earlier game. You smile at their little arguments, they always have them, and it's cute. "Oh really? You think our arguments are cute?" Shit, did you say that out loud?
You blushed and covered your mouth. "Okay, well I have to go, bye!" You quickly hung up the call and screamed into your pillow. How many times have you let your mouth speak your thoughts unintentionally? The first time was when you were with Atsumu at one of his spots, he looked so pretty and you accidentally voiced your thoughts. Thank god he thought you were talking about the sunset.
Tumblr media
"Good morning, Y/n-chan!" Hinata's voice echoed through the walls of the gym. He waved and smiled big at you. You smiled and waved back at him. Over the five months, you got really close to the other players on the team. You even got close to Sakusa, which was surprising to everyone because he does not like people. But you suppose he appreciated how you always sprayed down a seat and cleaned it for him, and always put on hand sanitizer when you walk into the gym. Everyone said their welcome and good morning's to you as you walked past them, and you got pulled into a hug by Bokuto.
Atsumu ran up to you and hugged you, his arms tightly wrapped around you. "Good morning, Y/n!" You laughed and pulled away from him if you didn't, he would've tried to hug you for five minutes. Which you don't have time for. You grabbed his hand and led him to the club room.
"Here." You pulled a piece of cake from your bag, which is in a plastic bag. This is a tradition now, you lead him to the club room, give him a piece of cake, and wish him good luck in practice. You don't want the other players to see the cake, they'll want some and you don't have enough for everyone.
Atsumu likes it this way, it's like he gets his own thing from you.
What never happens in this little tradition is Atsumu eating the cake. He takes a bite, big enough to almost have eaten the whole piece in one go. "Mm, this one is good too, what is it?" He licks his lips and hums in delight. You smile, "It's just a normal carrot cake, I like them a lot and thought I'd share it with you. The carrot at the top reminded me of your hair." Your smile gets bigger when you see his little glare.
He swipes some frosting onto his thumb and sticks it in his mouth, "Mm, it's so good, can't stay mad at you." You smile again, happy that your work is appreciated by him. "Here, have a taste." There was no cake left, you gave him a confused look. But that confusion dissipates as quickly as it came when you feel his lips on yours.
His tongue makes its way into your mouth, his arms sliding around your waist, the plastic bag long forgotten on the floor. Atsumu pulled away, his arms still around your waist, "It's good right?" You could only nod in response, still shocked by the sudden kiss. Atsumu's hand made its way up to your cheek, his thumb smoothing the skin. He leaned in again, this time for just a peck. "Have a good day, darlin'"

I had an anon in my askbox that was rudely asking me something along the lines of "why aren't you posting about Crosshair anymore" and I got mad and deleted it before figuring I should probably explain myself a little because all 860 of you did initially follow me for crosshair content so here goes:
So, like many of us, I am neurodivergent. I have intense, all encompassing hyperfixations that give me that ridiculous dopamine hit that we all know and love. Unfortunately, these hyperfixations have a shelf life (as much as I would prefer to be able to hyperfixate on a single thing for a long time and not worry about the enjoyment waning)
This means that in time, I struggle to connect with certain media the way I used to. If I set certain media to the side and then think about it a little while later, then I can sometimes get that rush back like I did when I first engaged with the media.
A good example of this is actually Hux and the sequel trilogy. Back when the sequels were new and exciting I was a feral Hux stan. I didn't have a blog I used back then so I just read fanfic on Ao3 and info dumped to my friends. (Lmao sorry guys)
But then the interest slowly waned, for star wars all together and I hyperfixated on other things, My Hero Academia, Haikyuu, Star Trek, until eventually my brain had enough of a break from Star Wars and let me get fully invested in it again.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, I would love nothing more than to still be fully invested in the Bad Batch fandom, but my brain will not let me feel the same way about it until I have a small break and think about something else for a while.
And like many of us, it was my comfort show. With my comfort characters. When the season 2 finale aired I was a mess. I'm not even a full time Tech fan but the way he went out broke me. It was hard to think about the show at all without feeling a whole slew of negative emotions, so I started rewatching rebels and the sequels to find a new comfort show and other comfort characters.
Look none of this makes any sense, but basically I'm sorry for the hux spam and lack of TBB content lately. It will return. I will come back to it, but its just really hard at the moment. I'll still finish off the requests once I am settled at my new house, but after that I probably won't turn requests back on for a while until I get over my negative emotions towards the show.
And before you hit me with the "but Hux died too" look i know, it's just easier to talk myself out of that one because it was so negligible in the grand scheme of the movie I can pretend he was helped into a bacta tank or something.
Look, if you got this far, thanks for reading my unmedicated ramblings. I'm sorry that the content you followed me for isn't happening as much anymore, but it will come back one day. When it's less difficult for me to think about.
Until then, enjoy the Thrawn posting and Hux posting. Or don't. I dont make the rules.

Dangerous romance 7/10 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tumblr media
Lists I’d Put It In: So much potential, Sports, Slice of Life
Review: There is a lot of things I like about dangerous romance but the cons makes it so that I’d likely not watch it again.
Pros the actors main and side were fan fucking tastic. Perth can be so intimidating bratty sexy and on the other hand just a sweet little puppy. I love how funny he made Kang just adding flare. Chimon baby of OffGun of course I watched this show mainly for him. Sailom is basically a hop skip and jump away from Wave from the gifted Sassy Smart Secertly extremely caring and gushy. I’m hoping Chimon’s roles always involve sass it’s his signature. GIVE PAPANG AND PEPPER A BIGGER BL ROLE AND VIEWJUNE ALL OF MY MONEY. MarcPawin really surprised me as well I wasn’t expecting much because I just watched my gear your gown. The grandma was precious. Euro and JJ were great comic relief I wish there had been more of them. I wish there was more I made a post before this 12th ep saying how I’d fix the series in detail. So I’m gonna boil it down here. The ships should have been more interlocked with eachother. The editing made the show boring. Why did we have so many flashbacks and lingering shots. I love a pretty scene but they took so long and we needed extra interlocking scenes for all the ships. Ugh I can see how this show would have been great with just a few changes which makes it so frustrating. Anyways more about the ships after the break
Tumblr media
First Perth and Chimon are not at fault for this I’m talking about editing and story. I adore KangSailom they had good potential but it felt like it got every trope imaginable enemies to lovers, poor boy rich boy, long standing unexplainable secret crush from childhood, tutor student, redemption arc, misunderstanding. AND YET IT FELT WEAK BECAUSE OF THE EDITING AND LACK OF OTHER CHARACTERS INTERACTION UNTIL THE VERY END.
Meanwhile audiences kept getting tiny precious glimpses of WONDERFUL side ships.
Tumblr media
GuyNawa Idiot Sport boy for Idiot Sport boy with injury, enemies to lovers (really fully enemies), long standing crush was so incredibly beautiful and effective. I probably won’t have liked their plot too if it had been drawn out because I would have been missing the other side characters but what we got for them was perfect I’d rewatch their scenes again. I was much more impressed by MarcPawin this time I hope they get another series their kiss was thru the roof. They give me strong Sports Anime vibes made me miss Haikyuu.
Tumblr media
Saifah and Name had the most potential to be a 10/10 ship. Papang and Pepper definitely need their flowers because the show didn’t give them a lot to work with. Their characters and storylines should have been worked in from the beginning. I wanted to want to cry for Saifah when he was taken away. I wanted to want Name to stay safe as he tried to protect Sailom and Saifah. But I felt like it was so rushed. We barely got to see what these characters had. But everything we did was leaning towards greatness a big brother who has done wrong in the past to get by trying to do ANYTHING for his brother even tho he’s in over his head and a bit of an idiot and mafia guy who sees his highschool friend again falls in love but is offered shit choices all around to his enviable conclusion and redemption. If only we had gotten them sooner and worked into Sailom’s plot more. I’m telling you it would have been stunning. I can see the vision.
Tumblr media
I really love Pimfah. She is… a great female character. I talked about it already but great lesbian energy. I wish I had more. I wish Pimfah could have been worked more smoothly into Kang’s storyline after he decided to go after Sailom. The student teacher was precious. She is going to make a great teacher. I wish we got a spin off of what happens in London. But sadly the ship just didn’t have enough screen time.
I might rewatch the GuyNawa scenes again but the rest is probably a skip.
Bonus: Strangest kiss in the bathroom award goes to….

HELLO AGAIN TOP 5 ANIME OPS AND EDS FROM YOU AS WELL PLEASE
HELLO CRAB thanks to scrolling through my OST playlist and messaging what i'd include as i went, this shouldn't require as much thought now LOL
extremely long so proceed under the readmore!
OPs:
re:re: by asian kung-fu generation - erased
youtube
i mean. this op ruined my life. erased was such a beautiful show that took me on a journey i wasn't expecting and it's my favorite time travel related story ever. i was so moved by it and i was devastated when the op changed because of [spoilers]. the show has a crazy ending but it was thrilling and parts of it were the most anxious i can recall an anime ever making me. what a gift honestly this op makes me tear up whenever i hear it
2. bloody stream by coda - jojo part 2 ed
youtube
OK so i was torn between this, sono chi no kioku, and fighting gold, but ultimately this won bc part 2 is my favorite of the three and i love and miss the cgi openings so much so fighting gold's visuals got disqualified. i fucking LOVE this op i linked the version with the extra sound effects but the visuals are all just so fun and i love joseph and caesar so much and coda is brilliant and this song is just a fucking party and FUCK YEAH
3. cry baby by offical hige dandism - tokyo revengers op 1
youtube
oh my god i almost forgot to put this one in. i had bnha op 2 peace sign in this list at first and then i was like I FORGOR. anyways cry baby is an incredible fucking op that was part of why i got hooked to tokyo revengers. i have a lot of complicated feelings about this series but overall it still means a lot to me and has been the most involved i've been in a fandom, and it is definitely special to me even after everything. i think this song has a wonderful energy to it that gives me such a strong impression of takemichi and toman and the whole theme of fighting on for a brighter future and the visuals are simple but extremely effective and beautiful. they do a great job at portraying takemichi's struggles. i love u crybaby hero. i love this song dearly
4. hikari are by burnout syndromes - haikyuu op 5 (shiratorizawa arc)
youtube
this one is here for a lot of reasons. this arc is one of my favorite parts of haikyuu because of what it means for karasuno to win and go to nationals, but also for my fav character tsukki to finally have his Moment where he gets hooked on volleyball by being able to block ushijima,,, AND the shot of ushijima pushing hinata and tsukki down when the karasuno senpais daichi, asahi, and tanaka come to their rescue and support them to push ushijima back.... there's just so much significance to this season AND in terms of this op itself, the song is so beautiful and the visual where hinata jumps and turns into the crow diving makes me tear up every time (and did again when i rewatched it for this kgjsdg) and i just. i really love it a lot
5. jikai yokoku by tatsuya kitani - sentai daishikkaku
youtube
i too am going to include this bc omfg what a fucking banger of a song and the visuals are incredible. both the lyrics and the visuals convey the repeating cycle fighter d is in and his struggle to break free and fight back and i LOVE the parts of the song sung in children's voices because it ties even more into the sentai theme and the words themselves are JUST. ITS SO GOOD WATCH SENTAI DAISHIKKAKU IM SO GLAD I SUCCUMBED TO CRAB'S PROPAGANDA
EDs:
first death by tk from ling tosite sigure - chainsaw man ed 8
youtube
this ending ruined my fucking life. ok so i read chainsaw man over a year before the anime aired and like it was good but it was confusing and so i didn't think about it much after that. BUT THE ANIME DID SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JOB i suddenly cared about it so much. the effort that was put into creating a different ed for each episode is remarkable and they're literally all incredible songs with incredible animation and i truly would put all of them on this list. but first death wins because episode 8 ruined me and then this ed singlehandedly made me fall in love with himeno and akihime. i suddenly saw the beauty and tragedy in their relationship and codependency and i was enamored by how the last few episodes of the anime felt like a love letter to himeno. she deserves it. ed 9 (deep down by aimer) is also beloved but this one makes me crazy. seeing aki and himeno at the gravesite where they met, and sharing a smoke, and fighting together perfectly coordinated, and aki at the gravesite alone after her death.... it's so cinematic and a story on it's own and it's just so lovely. i think the song is also very csm and the energy of it is unmatched
2. el canto del colibri by mabanua - megalobox op 2
youtube
i was pretty torn as to whether to put the first op, kakatte koi yo by NakamuraEmi, or this one, but i ultimately went with this one because it is a true reflection of the core of this series and i think it being in spanish is a great bridge to the characters of season 2 (it is amazing to watch something where brown characters aren't of an ambiguous minority race; the culture is deeply intrinsic to the themes of this season and it's so special). i don't want to get too in detail and spoil anything but i went into megalobox expecting a regular sports anime and got out of it so much more than that, and it truly touched me. i listen to the entire ost by mabanua often, and it comforts me a lot.
3. datte atashi no hero by LiSA - bnha ed 3
youtube
ok this one is just the best bnha ending ever and the official bakudeku anthem of all time, and the fantasy au being animated will NEVER be forgotten. this song is such a joy to listen to and it being about deku's feelings toward bakugou is truly amazing. i love all the details in the visuals and i would love to see more eds like this honestly where the characters are just put into a little AU. it's just really good!!!
4. hunting for your dream by galneryus - hxh ed 2 (yorknew arc)
youtube
ok i had to find a version of this with the lead in during the last few moments of the episode bc that was always badass. anyways yorknew arc changed me and i became a deranged beast about chrollo and chrollopika for months. hands down my favorite part of hxh, and i just love the energy of this ed. there is nothing really special about the visuals but i still rly love when it goes through all the phantom troupe members and mostly i am just fond of the memories of this time
5. future fish by style five - free ed 2
youtube
dammit ok i put the first ed splash free here at first but i rewatched them both and changed my mind. i watched free rly late compared to like everyone else (2019 i think???) but oh my god i would put every ed on here LOL especially this one and splash free. i love the outfits and "story" of splash free but this one is even MORE fun with all the different profession outfits and the guys just being sillygoofy and oh my god its so cute i miss them so much I NEED TO REWATCH FREE RIGHT NOW
(i have to give honorary number 6 to hyori ittai by yuzu (hxh ed 5) because even tho chimera ant arc was difficult to get through at times, i love this song a lot and the visuals of the gungi pieces especially with gon and killua fuck me up. the ending of this arc with meruem and komugi destroyed me and i cried like a fucking baby)

I saw your post about sports anime and I can see you’re a fan of Kuroko no basket. I haven’t watched it or read it but from what I’ve seen it does look good. Are there any other sport animes/mangas you like apart from KNK ?
i am OBSESSED with kuroko (the series and the character), i watched half of it for the first time when i was around 14 but i never got around to finishing it, and then last year i decided to give it another go and my life has never been the same since.
i always say this about knb, but it's one of those shows that's extremely hit or miss. the people that love it REALLY love it, but it doesn't work for everyone! for me, personally, the strong characterizations and character arcs are what pulled me in and i loved the themes the show was trying to touch on, even if it doesn't always execute them perfectly! it's so fun and flawed and since it's only 3 seasons long, i rewatch it frequently 😅 it helps that the VAs seemed to have a lot of fun doing it and the OSTs are phenomenal – genuinely some of the best i've ever heard! i also think it's the perfect example of a series that has a protagonist and deuteragonist and actually knows what to do with that duo throughout the show. the story is kagami's just as much as it is kuroko's and their individual arcs really tie the whole thing together in a way that is just so fun! the partnership carries the series. it also has amazing antagonist redemption arcs in the first half of the series...god i just love a lot of the characters' arcs and resolutions so much!
i liked the anime better than the manga, though i've heard some fans say some of the characters are more one-dimensional in the anime (i disagree, but i'm not going to bore you with the details!)
ANYWAY. other than that, i have – extremely slowly – been reading the manga 'real' by takehiko inoue and it is just an absolute masterpiece about a bunch of boys with disabilities playing basketball! if knb is a silly show that is extremely flawed but you love it anyway, real is a classic. it has amazing characters, a really grounded story, and the art is so BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful, you will not believe it! inoue is so good at drawing people! as someone who used to love barbara gordon from the batman comics, it's really refreshing to read about disabled characters written thoughtfully again! after i'm done i'm going to try slam dunk, obviously, but it'll probably take me a while to finish it since the 'real' manga is still ongoing.
i tried giving haikyuu a go a few years ago but couldn't get into it (same with yuri on ice). nothing against either of the two, they just didn't grab me. i've been wanting to read a girls-centric sports manga too, but i've only done limited research on that so far and haven't seen anything that interested me all that much.
[side note: this is not an anime but a tv show but i really enjoyed yellowjackets, which is a showtime drama about an all-girls soccer team that gets stranded in the woods for 19 months. the actresses are all fantastic and i'm really looking forward to season 3, even if season 2 was a bit of a dud].

Into the Unknown - Chapter 1: The Speculum Mundi
(A/N: guess who got motivated for dmc for some odd reason? This bitch did. Also if u can't guess from the title, I rewatched frozen 2 and got inspiration to get started on an old au idea I had. It's finally heating up!)
This would take place some time after my story lost and found, and a bit before dmc 1
Tumblr media
"...It's just a piece of glass," Dante shrugged, taking a big swig of his soda. "I don't see how important this thing is."
"It's not about what you think, dumbass," Lady grumbled as she gave his shoulder a shove. "Faith, what'd you say this thing was again?"
"The Speculum Mundi," the nephilim replied. "The Mirror of Worlds. It's said to be able to access all matters of God's creations, giving Him true omniscient power and visibility."
"...Which means...?"
"It's a huge mirror that can supposedly grant you access to multiple realities."
"Dude, nice," the half-demon cackled. "Even so, why's it so small? You think that puny thing can really fit a gajillion worlds in it? You think we can go in one? You think I'd still be as sexy?"
"With your attitude, you're more likely to be a perverted geezer!" Lady snapped at him. "Anyway, why are you paying so much attention to it? It's not like the angels can use it anymore... right?"
"That's the thing," Faith said. "If this mirror exists here, then it exists in all realities. And if it exists, then there are most certainly angels that are capable of using it. Whether it's in simply one world or a thousand, I don't know. But as the last angel, the task of protecting, maybe even destroying it, falls to me." She sighed, and Dante instinctively moved to rub her shoulders. "At the very least, this shard likely got broken off from the mirror. I should go put it back."
"Where do we do that?"
"Back in the mountain. Cael."
The atmosphere changed immediately at the mention of her hometown. Bitter memories of death and darkness flashed through all of their minds, the echo of a cacophonous chorus still ringing in their ears.
"We're not going back there."
"You don't have to," she reassured her friend. "I can go alone. Besides, the shard is pretty fickle, so it shouldn't be touched carelessly-"
As she spoke, the shard began to glow faintly, then an explosion of light engulfed the office.
Once it died down, it didn't take long for Dante to notice: "Hey, where the hell is Faith?"
"Who the hell is that?!" Lady shrieked, aiming her Kalina Ann at-
"Get away from me, you scum!"
[...]
...Ouch. Her head hurt like crazy. Faith could barely open her eyes, much less hear everything that was going around her. Plus, her back was aching like she fell onto the floor.
"...my brother? Answer me, you-"
...That voice sounded strangely familiar, but also incredibly different: deeper, almost huskier, laced with fear and rage.
Almost like...
"...Lady. Lady! Hey, can you hear me? Can you move?"
That was another voice: much softer and warmer, mixed with fear and concern. Something warm prodded her cheek, and she groaned. "Few more minutes...?"
"C'mon, lady, we don't really have much time for you to take a nap. My... uh... my 'dad' is missing, and we think you're the reason why."
...Dad?
She finally managed to blink the spots from her eyes and take in what's around her. She was still in the office, but it was significantly dirtier than she remembered. How the hell did Dante make a mess so quickly? There was also the smell of old pizza that she hadn't smelled in years; did he fall back on his previous lifestyle?
Not to mention the massive sword pointed straight at her throat.
"You," the silver-haired old man she did not recognize, "have a lot of explaining to do, young lady."
--------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: the next part might be out either in a few hours or a few days, I can't tell. Also, I'm still working on a lot of haikyuu oneshots (and still thinking of more); for some reason, I love underrated boys

Hey you! 🦇anon back from the dead to say hi! I've been trying to get back into tumblr after stewing in the void and I just caught up and finished EA and I wanted to say that I love it! I'm so excited for OnlyFangs, given that you're still working on it but either way. Also are you caught up to the manga/anime and have you seen the trailer for the fourth mha movie? What are your thoughts, I'd love to know!
-🦇 anon
Batty hiiiiii I'm glad to see you're well! 🥺 I'm so glad you loved EA <333 Unfortunately onlyfangs is on. Indefinite hold for the time being. I uh, quietly didn't make an announcement about it, oops. I will likely be picking it up after completing some other projects! I have a really long ongoing fic project for another fandom that's been going since before I even started writing for BNHA that I really want to buckle down and be done with.
Aaaaa I need to get caught up actually 😩 I want to and still love bnha but I've been on a MASSIVE haikyuu kick lately and have basically rewatched the same anime like four times in the past month. I can't focus on anything else it's killing me. I need to buckle down and get caught up soon!! When I do rest assured I will be extremely annoying about it on your dash lmao
It's good to see you again ✨️

I have been tagged by @grayseyebrowscar for a WIP game, and I have too many WIP's to not make a separate post. Some of them haven't been touched in ages, but they are still WIP's. There are also themes of death, abuse, and self-harm at least in the titles, and maybe in the WIP sentences.
rules: share the first line (or two or more!) of every current wip you have (that you feel comfortable sharing) and tag some writer friends! feel free to add the titles of your documents if you see fit
AOT
Guardian Angel: "Sasha sat up and looked around at her surroundings, she was back at her house in the forest.*
Criminal Minds
Our Witches Heart: "Reid sat at his desk just spinning around, he had finished his paperwork a while ago and now he was just letting his head roam."
DC Comics/Young Justice
Fear Toxined Batfam: "It was a normal patrol when their comms crackled to life, Oracle's voice coming through into their ears."
Green Lantern Ring: "The battle was nearing its end, the Justice League was on its last leg stopping these aliens."
Our friends shouldn't meet ends: "Jason stood with a sword in his hands, at the ready, a playful smile on his face as Wally also fell into stance."
When I Find You: "Dick always found the prospect of soulmates intriguing, his parents seemed like they had a perfect unbreakable bond, so that means he should also have the perfect bond when he was older."
Fairy Tail
MCD one-shots Bxl: "The feeling of being burned from the inside out wasn't one that Bixslow would ever say he appreciated, especially as he felt blood dribble out of his mouth."
MCD one-shots Gjl: "The Guild Hall was buzzing with an uneasy energy under the normal rambunctiousness."
Our Souls Weave Through, Chp 3: "Another week had passed since they had first found themselves in these strange times."
Our Souls Weave Through, Abuse, Gjl: "Gajeel absolutely hated it here, he has only been a part of Phantom Lord for a month and he was miserable, best guild along with the ranks of Fairy Tail his ass."
Our Souls Weave Through, Bitey One-Shot: "Fairy Tail was pretty used to the biting habit Natsu seemed to have, most of them having grown up with him, and having seen him constantly doing it, or being a victim at one point or another."
Haikyuu:
Got a secret series, Can you Keep it: "After all the Ushijima Fiancé craziness had washed over, a fan chose to go back and rewatch the interview."
Swim, Spike, Receive: "Kageyama Tobio didn't always live in Miyagi, he actually used to live in Tokyo with his older brother."
My Life is your Tribute, Hunger Games Crossover: "The ten districts of Panem all used to be one unified country along with their Capital, until they rebelled, causing a war to spread."
Racing Royalty: "Empress sat upon the hood of her car as her Knight filled up the gas in preparation for the race."
Tsukishima's Shoulder, Finding our Footing: "He kept going through the cycles, kept going through these large cycles of doubt. The surgery date was creeping up on him and he was scared."
Creepy Crawly Crows: "The two teams on the court flinched back and the crowd went silent as the Military burst through the doors in the gym."
Figure Four, Finale: "The announcer cleared their throat to get the attention of the stadium, 'Everyone there is still one more performance for today.'"
Sewn Silence: "Bokuto's insecurities were knocking on the metaphorical door once again, he had the all locked away behind a wall of fake emotions."
Short & Tall: "Nishinoya picked up his pace as he tried to keep up with Tsukishima's freakishly long strides. This was one of the many reasons he was not a fan of tall people, they walk too damn fast."
TPN x Haikyuu: "Emma threw her head back as she felt the breeze pass by, she took a deep breath of her true freedom."
Buckle up, it's MHA time
(I have so many MHA fics, at least plans, I was hyperfixated on it for a long time.)
1-A childhood friends and soulmates: "Memories are a fickle thing, you cherish them when you're young, but they will slowly disappear as you grow. Those who you would hold so close to your heart, will suddenly disappear."
Bomb on Campus: "The bright numbers flashed over the campus as teachers were guiding students out of the buildings and through the gates."
Bonding Notes, Chp 3: "As Shoji makes his way into the dorm he digs into his pocket for his white cane."
Fuck, it's the Family: "When class 1-A walked into the classroom one fateful morning they were put on edge by the sinister smile on their teacher's face."
Gouged Clouds and Pittering Paws: "Aizawa was born with his Parental Mark set on his collarbone, a small black cat curled up, sleeping peacefully."
Interviews with the 3's: "The recording flickered on as they all sat around the common rooms of the dorm, Class 3-A and 3-B convened together."
Mutation Quirk Erasure: "Aizawa woke up and went to wake up his kids with a bad feeling in his gut, his brain telling him that something had happened."
Quirk Drawback Fics, Shoji: "The day had been slow, they all started off with Homeroom and then went through their classes until getting to hero training."
Separated for Safety, Chp 2: "Bakugo woke up, his vision slowly coming into focus, he stares at the bright white ceiling as he tries to remember what happened."
Splat the Colorful Hero: "Deku sat atop the roof that All Might had left him on, he sat on the edge with his legs dangling over."
Trauma and Friends: "The class had been getting closer, they were three fourths of the way through their first year at UA, but there were still some barriers between them."
Vanishers, Later in the fic: "Aizawa's head swiveled around to look at the door that had just been flung open, standing there was a panting Present Mic."
What Happened to Memories?: "Memories are a precious thing, but they always seem to just disappear."
When time turns back: "The class was scattered around the area as they fight villains in close and far quarters."
3 Pros, 1 Civilian: "Izuku Midoriya was an odd kid raised in odd ways, he has 4 parents that helped raise him but that's not what was weird about it."
3-A year: "Shoji quickly finished packing his bag, even though classes didn't start till tomorrow he wanted to make sure he had time to move back into the dorms, and get adjusted to his friends."
Deaf MHA: "Aizawa watched his students closely both in and out of class so at any moment he could see if there was anything wrong with them."
Pro Hero Wards, Chaos Fic: "Shoji sits in the common room with his stuff as the class slowly leaves for Christmas break, he was one of the few left waiting."
Shoji Retires: "He couldn't have even told them himself, they had to find out from the official Pro Hero news. Katsuki had run across the article that morning and sent it to the group chat of their old class."
Whumptober
Day 7: "She looks behind her quickly to check if the people are still following her, she doesn't see anyone, but she keeps running."
There are all of my Current and Old WIP's, I'm not gonna tag anyone, but it's open for anyone who wants to do it.

Anime Recommendations!
Hi everyone, I hope y’all are safe and happy! With quarantine still in place (at least in my country), I’m gonna keep the random rec lists coming! I’ve been watching a lotttt of animes and rewatching favourites, so I thought I’d share some of my favourites of all time! A lot of them are pretty mainstream, but for my friends who aren’t really into anime, these will get you hooked! In no particular order, let’s get started!
1. Snow White with the Red Hair, 24 episodes
Tumblr media
This is hands down my favourite anime of all time. This shoujo anime make me feel so happy and it’s so wholesome, honestly such a feel good anime. Without spoiling too much, it’s about a herbalist named Shirayuki who ends up having to flee her home country and ends up meeting Prince Zen and goes to live in his country. The cast of characters in the anime is so good, there’s not a character to dislike. The genuine build up of friendship and eventual romance is just so sweet please watch.
2. Demon slayer (26 episodes)
Tumblr media
One of the best anime I’ve watched this past year. This anime has amazing plot, awesome animation and a great cast of characters. This anime follows Tanjiro as he becomes a demon slayer after a demon killed his family. Tanjiro and his sister, Nezuko were the only survivors but Nezuko was turned in a demon and now Tanjiro is on a journey to change he back into a human. If you are into anime with amazing fight scenes, I highly recommend.
3. Hunter x Hunter (148 episodes)
Tumblr media
I am currently watching this anime and it honestly made it onto my lists of favourite anime super quickly. The series starts with Gon and his quest to become a pro hunter and find his dad and goes on from there. With so many episodes and arcs, you can’t stop watching. The characters immediately hooked me on this show, Killua and Gon’s friendship is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen in anime, I literally want to adopt both of them. This anime is so heartwarming but also kinda dark and action packed.
4. Haikyuu!! (73 episodes, on-going)
Tumblr media
My favourite sports anime my god. Haikyuu follows a high school volleyball team as they try to make it to nationals. This series made me so much more emotional than I thought it would, but you get so involved with the team and characters and want them to succeed. All of the characters from all of the teams are also fantastic and hilarious. If you need a fun but exciting anime, please please please watch Haikyuu!!
5. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (64 episodes)
Tumblr media
Where to even begin. I would say this is one of the most popular anime and for good freaking reason. Without giving too much away, this anime follows brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric as they go on a quest to get their bodies back. Honestly this is one of my fav animes, if you like awesome fight scenes and really intriguing plot, you will love this anime.
6. Yona of the Dawn (24 episodes)
Tumblr media
Another amazing anime but sadly, unfinished. I think this anime is best to watch w/o knowing very much. Just know that there is really good characters and character development and a very attractive love interest :))))
7. Soul eater (51 episodes)
Tumblr media
One of the first animes I ever watched and as I remember it’s hella awesome, if you like halloween then the whole atmosphere of this anime will intrigue you. The fight scenes in this are really fun and so are the characters. If you need a fun medium length anime, I would recommend this one!
8. Inuyasha (193 episodes)
Tumblr media
This anime is worth all the hype in my opinion. The plot was great, the characters are fantastic and romance is so freaking cute I can’t. I’m also a sucker for asshole characters who are secretly really sweet.
9. Fruits Basket (2019) (25 episodes (S1), S2 on-going)
Tumblr media
This is the cutest anime. The whole cast characters is amazing and you get so attached so fast. The protagonist is so sweet and optimistic and I really just wanna protect her. I went into this knowing next nothing and I think that’s the best way to do it. The 2001 version is good too but 2019 has better animation and is closer to managa (and has more episodes!).
10. My Hero Academia (88 episodes, on-going)
Tumblr media
I love this anime with my whole heart. There is an adorable cast of characters and amazing fight scenes, I love this sm. It’s set in a world where like 95% of the population has ‘quirks’ which are basically super powers but not all of them are super powerful. Super heroes protect cities and the anime follows a high school where the students are training to become heroes. The main character is born without a quirk but through some crazy circumstances he ends up acquiring one. In my opinion this anime is worth the hype.
11. Ouran Highschool Host Club (26 episodes)
Tumblr media
This one is wild. Ouran Highschool Host club is so iconic and it’s hilarious, I laughed out loud watching this one so much. Honestly I went into this knowing nothing and I think its funnier that way.
12. Yuri!!! On Ice (13 episodes)
Tumblr media
THIS ANIME. The first sports anime w/ canon LGBTQ+ romance and its beautiful. I love the style, the skating, the music, the characters, just everything about it. This follows Yuri Katsuki, a professional figure skater from Japan and his skating career. After messing up a major championship, Yuri is lost and doesn’t know what to do w/ his career. After seeing a video of Yuri skate, his idol Victor, a skating legend, shows up to be his coach. Please watch this anime.
13. Attack on Titan (62 episodes, on-going)
Tumblr media
If you are looking for a badass action anime this is the one for you. Humanity has fallen to the mercy of giant man-eating titans, and the people that survived live within a walled city to keep the titans out. This anime is a little disturbing and violent but it is so badass. Also Levi, the most badass character ever, makes this entire anime worth watching.
14. Ao Haru Ride (12 episodes)
Tumblr media
Hands down my favourite romance anime. This anime is so freaking cute and it gave me so many fuzzy feelings. The animation is also super nice so that is always a plus. It follows Futaba and Kou who liked each other in middle school but were separated. They meet again in high school but they have both changed so much. If you want a romance anime I really recommend this one.
15. Naruto (720 episodes)
Tumblr media
This is a freaking classic and really long. Almost everyone and their mother has heard of this anime or watched some of it before. Basically it’s about ninjas and follows mainly Naruto Uzumaki who want to eventually be the leader of his village but his ninja skills need a lot of work. I honestly didn’t think I would love this anime as much as I did but its just so good. It is a very big commitment to finish though so be prepared.
16. Your Lie in April (22 episodes)
Tumblr media
Well this anime is literally beautiful. It is centered around 2 teens w/ major musical talent. It gets deep very fast but its also light hearted and wholesome. This anime made me cry like a baby so get your tissues ready.

It’s a cool autumn day, the cool wind rustling the bright-colored leaves on the trees. With the air getting much colder, it was time to break out your winter costumes when it came to training.
You stood by yourself like usual, listening to instructions. Of course, the exercise today was grouping you in pairs. And despite being possible acquaintances with at least half of your peers, you didn’t really consider them friends.
It wasn’t because you hated them, you were reserved, quiet, and rarely showed any emotions, often having others perceive you as cold and hard to read.
“It’s just a simple team-building skills exercise. You’ll most likely have several occasions in the field where you’re working together with other heroes and agencies, especially on bigger cases. Your pairs have already been chosen for you so when your names are called find your partner.” Aizawa’s look hadn’t changed at all. In fact, you almost wondered if his outfit had changed during the summer or not.
But it seemed like what he wore during the hottest days of June or July was currently fitted on him now.
Name after name was called, slowly dwindling down the remaining students that could be paired.
“Kirishima, (Y/n).” It wasn’t that much of a surprise to you when you heard your name. Kirishima meandered over to you, shooting you a sharp-teethed smile before glancing back at Kaminari and Sero, who had been paired together.
“Bakugou, Todoroki.” That was a pair you certainly hadn’t expected. Watching as Bakugou’s eye seemed to twitch he teamed up with the half-and-half boy, not very thrilled to do this exercise with him.
The training was fairly simple, you were to rescue a training dummy from a random hazard under thirty minutes.
In your case, your dummy was trapped in a sinking car.
You hadn’t expected to get wet today, and even if your quirk allowed you some help under the water, it was still going to be cold. It didn’t help that Kirishima kept asking you questions.
You were thinking of a strategy as you rushed to the scene.
“I think the best plan is to try and get the car out of the water.”
No that is a stupid plan. You can’t lift the car, with water inside of it you’d just sink to the bottom.
You didn’t have a solid plan, but you could finish fairly early if you could break the window and retrieve the dummy.
Using this plan, you’d need Kirishima to harden and break the window.
After reviewing the area where the car had begun to sink, you could feel the cameras on you, your entire class observing you. It was uncomfortable, you frankly wished you’d been paired with someone like Mineta so your fight would hopefully be uninteresting to those who despised the purple-’haired’ boy.
“Harden and break the window when we get to the car. Trying to save the car is just going to slow us down.” You spoke plainly, kicking off your shoes as you stared at the strikingly blue water.
“Break the window, got it!” Kirishima was ready. Jumping into the cold water, you fought the urge to swim back out. Pushing on, you swam to the car, hoping you’d be able to hold your breath long enough to get the dummy out.
Kirishima swam beside you and quickly hardened part of his body, noticing how much harder it was to move underwater.
After a few attempts, the glass hadn’t budged. You needed air. Swimming back up, your heads popped up above the water.
“We need momentum.” Kirishima wasn’t getting anywhere.
“Use your feet on the window behind the driver's side. I’ll swim through and get the dummy.” You ducked back under, sucking in a breath to keep with you. Kirishima came back down, finding that hardening allowed him to sink faster.
Using your advice, he hardened his feet and lower calves, kicking through the hard glass of the window behind the driver’s side. You kicked out any remaining glass and swam through, quickly navigating for the seatbelt buckle.
It was hard to see, the water made things blurry, but after some searching you found it.
The dummy was heavy, but with enough force, you were able to pull it out of the seat and bring it into the back seat, handing it off to Kirishima.
However, as you were preparing to swim through the broken window, your foot got caught in a seatbelt. From the thrashing and moving trying to maneuver the dummy, your legs had gotten tangled.
Yanking your legs did nothing and you were running out of air. Kirishima had taken the dummy back to shore only to realize you hadn’t popped back above water.
Quickly diving back in, he was lucky to find you still moving.
Squeezing through the window, he helped free you from the seatbelts, cutting them free from your legs before helping you back above the water.
Gasping for air, you choked on water that spewed from your mouth and nose, completely unaware of just how long you'd been down there for.
“That was a good plan, next time don’t get stuck!” Kirishima’s cheery voice guided you back to reality as you swam back to shore, resting as soon as your body no longer had to float to hold itself up.
Training was over for you and Kirishima, and you’d passed with three minutes to spare. You were handed a towel and escorted to change out of your wet costume.
However, you had to return after changing into the regular training uniform.
That’s when Bakugou approached you.
“How’d you think of that plan so fast?” Bakugou’s question doesn’t seem like much of a question at all. He’d gone before you so he was done with training as well. You didn’t respond at first, opting to try and seem as invisible as possible, hoping that maybe he was talking to Momo who was within an earshot of your conversation.
“Oi!”
“It just made sense.” Was all you could conjure up to say, proceeding to move away from Bakugou after answering. However, Bakugou wasn’t pleased with this. He then decided to follow you around like a lost puppy, trying to catch up with you every time you migrated away from him.
“What’s your deal?” Bakugou finally cornered you away from the class, pushing your back against a wall.
“Please stop following me.” You didn’t want to look the blonde in the eyes. Your heart was beating faster than before. This was such a vulnerable position. You couldn’t place your finger on what it was exactly you were feeling, but the thumping of your heart was starting to hurt your head.
“Tch, dumbass.” Bakugou grumbled, his cheeks pink as he walked away, folding his arms over his chest. You didn’t mind standing still for a bit, no one could see you, but you feared you’d get into trouble which would only cause a scene. You slowly added yourself to the back of the class, opting to pay minimal attention to the lesson.
A week later, a similar scenario happened. Bakugou cornered you in the library while you played a hand-held console during lunch. You chose to eat quietly somewhere else and spend the remainder of your time in the library, safe from the noisy cafeteria.
However this time, Bakugou didn’t say anything to you. He took a seat in front of you. He debated on saying a few things to you, but it appeared that as long as he was quiet, you seemed unbothered.
Though you would occasionally catch him staring at you, which caused him to grumble something under his breath.
And then there was the day where he showed up with some sort of snack.
You can’t eat in here.
“I didn’t see you eat lunch. Eat dumbass.” Bakugou passed you the snack bar. You stared at it.
Is this some sort of peace offering? If so, why in the one place where food isn’t allowed.
You left the snack bar in its spot for the remainder of your time in the library, only reaching for it when it was time to go. Bakugou glared at you as you opened it as soon as you got outside of the library, only to watch you nibble on the bar before throwing it away, conveniently by the sign that says ‘no food or drink in the library.’
This wouldn’t be the last sort of ‘offering’ Bakugou would give to you. You seemed to tolerate him as long as he was quiet, and he was determined to find out why. Which is why he eventually asked to study in your room.
When he walked in, he was surprised to see how different your room looked.
He half expected it to look as normal as possible, similar to Ojiro’s room.
However, your room was decorated to your liking, with a poster or two on the walls, a comfy-looking blanket draped over your bed, a desk, a tv, and other various decorations.
“Why are you so quiet?” Was the first of many questions Bakugou had to ask you during your study session which you had reluctantly said yes to since he’d asked you during breakfast around other students.
It felt weird to be sitting with him privately in your dorm. Your heart was beating fast again and it was weird. You hadn’t been able to get Bakugou out of your head since he had started all these surprise visits.
“Not much to say.” You replied simply, working on your homework swiftly.
“There’s gotta be something you like, you’re not that fuckin’ boring are you?” Bakugou’s words were harsh, but they weren’t meant to be mean.
“I like video games. But you do not.” You lifted your gaze to meet his, his lips parted in awe.
“I do too play fuckin’ games.” Bakugou stood his ground.
“What games do you have?” This was the first question you’d ever asked Bakugou.
“C-cooking Mama.” Bakugou hung his head in defeat.
“They have multiplayer challenges, correct? We could play together after we finish.” You weren’t at all judgmental of his seemingly childish game choice, but it seemed that you had a copy of the game as well.
After work, you sat on your bed alongside Bakugou and the two of you competed against one another in cooking challenges. You won most of them considering you’d completed the game in its entirety and knew the in and out’s of doing the most with your time, how to get perfect dishes, etc.
You decided to let Bakugou win a few times, but it was almost as if he could tell you were letting him win.
Throwing down his console softly onto your bed, he forced your back against the mattress as he hovered over you.
“Stop going easy on me!’ Bakugou semi-shouted. You stared up at him with a seemingly blank expression, but the heat that burned your face was clear to you.
Bakugou’s warm features, albeit a bit brash and rough, were gorgeous to look at. His tough crimson eyes and his explosive blonde locks, you were almost sure this feeling you were having was one of affection, not that you knew anything about it though.
Let alone how to act on those feelings. And you had observed that Bakugou struggled to be upfront with his feelings too.
Staring down at you was mind-blowing to Bakugou. He could see your face so clearly, your eyes were wide and full of some sort of emotion even though you acted as if you were simply just observing what was happening.
His eyes couldn’t stand to stare at just your eyes though. They travelled all over your face, finding little details to look at before they found your lips.
An unknown force pulled him closer to you, his lips landing on yours. Moving against them softly, he kissed you. Your eyes widened ever so slightly as you felt his lips on yours.
You couldn’t move. It was electrifying. Yet you were slightly confused.
You didn’t know how to move your lips against his, though you gave it your best effort, now you felt embarrassed as he pulled away staring at you.
“I’m sorry, I should’ve asked if you-”
“I don’t know how to kiss.” You cut him off, explaining that it wasn’t that you didn’t want to kiss him, but because you didn’t know how too.
Bakugou’s eyes widened as he stared at you. Almost as if he found your statement horrifying. But he began to grin, trying not to laugh.
“If you’re going to laugh about it you can leave.” You knew you shouldn’t have said anything. Bakugou’s serious expression returned.
“Just follow my lead, it’s not rocket science.” Bakugou grumbled, leaning back down to kiss you. You did as he said, closing your eyes, trying to follow what his lips were doing.
You began to move your lips against his, trying to mimic what he was doing, until he swiped his tongue along your bottom lip which drew an embarrassing mewl from you. Pulling away, Bakugou couldn’t help but chuckle at you.
“You- what was...” You were in the middle of catching your breath and trying to ask what he had just done.
“Let’s continue our lesson.”
After half an hour of more kissing, you were completely exhausted. You’d tried to keep up with Bakugou, but every time he felt that you were getting cocky he’d pull some trick, like licking your lower lip. He also ran his hands into yours and raised them above your head, all while his lips attacked yours.
You were in some sort of haze after, completely astonished from it. But one thing was on your mind.
“Are you my boyfriend now?” You asked quietly. Bakugou’s face began to turn red.
“Yeah sure.” Bakugou stared at you for a few seconds as you packed up your things.
You were hard to describe. His peers had labeled you as quiet, composed, and analytical, and while those were true, you were also clearly intelligent along with cute.
Watching you get flustered was adorable, and he couldn’t place a finger on why. Perhaps it was just your innocence or being confused on how to kiss someone, but regardless of the fact, you were dating now.
Keeping it under wraps was easy. Bakugou spent more time with you alone, away from everyone where he learned more about you.
“I have a hard time making friends.” You expressed in his arms. Explaining to Bakugou about why you were quiet, or always by yourself, he began to learn more about you just by listening to you.
But no matter how strange you seemed to make yourself sound, he couldn’t think that it was quite the opposite.
You said you were awkward and dull? You weren’t. You were pleasant to be around, always calming Bakugou down. And you were so nice to look at you, Bakugou honestly thought you were some sort of beautiful angel.
Pulling you in for one more kiss, Bakugou held you in his arms, interrupting your story-telling. You kissed back almost instantly, now educated in the art of kissing someone back.
Pulling away, Bakugou gave you a small smile to continue. You nuzzled into him, resting your head on his chest as you continued to talk about little things.
You’d found someone who understood you, even if you had to explain it to him along the way. You’d also found someone to play cooking mama with.
