…to newer groups like NCT and RIIZE, SM Entertainment has more than a few handsome male idols under their company. So singer Lee Seok Hoon couldn’t resist asking the staff who was the most handsome in real life during an episode of SSULPLY.

Since Red Velvet‘s manager Choi Byung Jong has worked with many famous celebrities, including those from JYP Entertainment and MLD Entertainment, Lee Seok Hoon asked him which celebrity was the most handsome he’d ever seen.

Choi Byung Jong chose one of the boy groups he spent a lot of time with. He said, “For men, it’s definitely SHINee.” The answer took Key by surprise as the manager revealed that he was proud of their visuals and dance skills.

Choi Byung Jong isn’t alone. Even though fifteen years have passed since SHINee’s debut, the members are still talked about for their timeless visuals.

To the people saying Maitreyi Ramakrishnan should become the next Rapunzel.......

We all know where this is coming from, The little mermaid. So Halle Bailey played Ariel and yuh some people were mad about it cuz she's black but Ariel was portrayed as a white ginger, the movie was kinda bad too but the visual aesthetic were still pleasing even after she's black.

The reason behind this is the "ethereal effect", some beautiful people in the world have this. You can be the most attractive person in the world and still not have this effect. So because disney princesses have magical powers so this ethereal look will sute the characters much better.

Now coming back to Maitreyi, she is beautiful but she doesn't have the ethereal effect. Her logic of Rapunzel being brown was correct to cuz Indians do have the most beautiful hair, and it would be good if a brown girl played Elsa but not her. The character just wouldn't sute her. She's an amazing actress but not to the mark to play a Princess.....

SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan Mentions ASTRO’s Moonbin In The Group’s Emotional 2023 “MAMA Awards” Speech

The speech was emotional in many ways for the members, idols, and fans.

SEVENTEEN recently gained attention after their emotional speech at the 2023 MAMA Awards following their big win for “Best Album” with FML.

While it was all extremely heartwarming, netizens couldn’t hide their emotions when member Seungkwan mentioned his best friend, ASTRO‘s Moonbin.

Along with fellow 98′ liners VIVIZ‘s SinB and many more, Seungkwan and Moonbin’s friendship has always been loved by fans.

During their speech, netizens noticed that Seungkwan gave a special mention to Moonbin.

The entire speech was extremely emotional, and the members made sure to mention everyone close to their hearts. CARATs couldn’t hide their tears as Wonwoo mentioned that he had another thing to brag about to his mother, who sadly passed away in 2022.

During Seungkwan’s speech, where the idol got very emotional, he made sure to thank all the artists and idols attending, no matter whether they were junior or senior.

Toward the end of the speech, Seungkwan explained, “I don’t know if I can say this but…”

The idol then explained that a lot had happened that year…

Seungkwan then went on to say that Moonbin was someone who supported SEVENTEEN and their music throughout their career, and he thanked him for everything. Unsurprisingly, the members were also very emotional.

I want to thank my friend Bin who really loved and supported our team.

While fans got emotional at Seungkwan mentioning Moonbin, it was at this point that LE SSERAFIM‘s Sakuraand Eunchae were also spotted crying.

After the speech, netizens worldwide couldn’t hide their emotions as they heard Seungkwan speak about his best friend. For so many K-Pop fans, Moonbin has always been such an important part of their lives and the past year has been difficult.

So this isn't my hill to die on or me saying "you are horrible if you do this" and far more a "just some thought and consideration to how you use these terms" but I think it's kind of off when non-AAPI folk use terms like "koreaboo" or "weeb" as light hearted terms to describe themselves or other non-AAPI folk.

I think its 100% fine to use it to call out others in a genuine and derogatory manner because that is the intended use of it - but I find non-AAPI folk normalizing the terms to be kinda detrimental to the very real and problematic topic they are addressing which is the unique type of fetishization wide spread and normalized about AAPI cultures and bodies.

Terms like those (koreaboo, weebo, gwailo, gweilo, etc) are terms used to describe problematic non-AAPI that fetishize and disrespectfully / shallowly approach AAPI cultures and they are terms used as a moderate and short hand vent to how prevalent it is.

For a non-AAPI to use it in a playful light hearted way, its like going "uwu I'm a cultural appropriator" like its something cute or going "uwu you are such a cultural appropriator" - like... its not for you to reclaim or make cute and its always a bit weird and unnerving.

Like I used to not find any issue with it back when I was in denial about being AAPI cause me and my asian circles used it at eachother regularly in a light hearted and I assumed that its just a "normal white thing" until I sat and realized we used it at other asians almost exclusively and like... its kinda honestly I think a way of coping by desensitization to the acknowledgement of how fucking weird people get about AAPI cultures

Like I don't genuinely care enough to start looking at people and say "Horrible racist!" or anything for those that do, but I will say as an AAPI who is realizing that I genuinely grew up primarily in AAPI cliques and reflecting on how dynamics in those cliques worked that like.... I do side eye it when I see non-AAPI people thinking its cute to claim the term weeb / koreaboo / gwailo / gweilo / other "ugh foreigners being disrespectful to our culture" terms.

Koreans swear

Being Korean and all, I know for a fact that Koreans swear. Haha. Our swearing is probably more colorful that English swearing, and I'd probably put our creativity with swearing second behind Russia.

I was told by SOMEONE NOT KOREAN, OMG, why do subtitles with Koreans have swearing in it, because clearly Koreans can't swear. LOL

TT Are you confusing us with Japanese people? I've taken Japanese and swears soften in the language over time. The only true swear word I could find when leafing through a Japanese dictionary one time was a word for "dick" basically, but it was labeled "antiquated"

There is Baka and Aho, (aho is a shortening of asshole) and this is about the best you can do in Japanese. and aho in Japanese means more like "a bit temporarily dumb." "daft" is probably a good equivalent. And it's used effectionally too. (depending on where you are" I know, someone is going to say "But, but Shimatta" Haha. Only in anime. It's only anime speak. I've been told over and over again by Japanese who giggle and laugh at the idea that word is used in everyday life.

Korean... there is a whole movie that never got translated about a Korean swearing contest, where this grandmother is caught swearing by a pond, and then gets onto a game show to win money to come up with the most colorful swears. It's hilarious—if you understand Korean.

Korean swearing is more colorful than Thailand, Japan and China. (I checked with Pinoy too... and yeah, more colorful than the Philippine languages my friends knew of...) It's so bad that swear words and slang that were in Naver have been excised, which I find hilarious. Korea is so deadset that international people won't learn the level of Korean swearing, they are willing to take it out of Naver's dictionary.

And the common swear words you know–that's only the tip of the iceberg there. Haha.

When a country gets invaded so many freaking times, you're going to invent swear words.

The upside of Korean swear words is not only are they colorful, but often they aren't particularly sexist, racist, etc. Occasionally tied to food... but lol Good luck finding them. They've gotten deleted from popular dictionaries.

Also, BTW, Koreaboos suck, because they are willing to lecture at Koreans about how Koreans don't produce BL media at all, OMG, and you know what "Homosexuals" don't exist in Korea because that was an import or something. And OMG, I just wanted to relax with Korean dramas and not talk about politics (have you watched Korean dramas????? Almost every single last drama is political in some way.) And OMG, why are you, a Korean, talking about politics—we never quit. We're still engaged in politics? Oh and Koreans don't really swear and stuff because you know, Asians are always polite like the depiction in the super racist Madame Butterfly.

Also, OMG, why are you soooo upset when I say Kon'nichiwa, Chingus on videos.

Like Chingu-deul is so hard to remember and shit. And why do I have to use "friend". You are so mean for reminding me that Japan occupied Korea and Koreans are still upset about that. I mean, Holocaust doesn't mean anything, clearly, Jews are over that so why can't you Koreans be over that and my daughter's friend when she went to China was married to someone Korean, so clearly there are NO problems between Korea and China, because you see the majority of Koreans in China HAVE to be South Korean, not North Korean. You are mean for talking real facts.

There is a Korean swear word for half-ethnicity... but that's about as severe as you can get. TT The Korean ranking system.

When I was in South Korea... Appa called me Kongjunim, but also three swear words, probably thinking I didn't understand. lol This is why Gyeongsangnamdo people get their reputations...

The difference between K-pop fans and Korea boos

Okay, I’ve lived in Korea ever since I was born, I moved here to England at the age of 11 and I made friends with white people who love K-pop. Don’t get me wrong, I love K-pop and dramas and I know that people get annoyed with koreaboos.

Definition: koreaboos are (specifically) white people who are obsessed with K-pop, kdramas, Korean language and Korean culture. Koreaboos are especially annoying when you are obviously a Korean (you speak or look like one) and they say that they were ‘supposedly born in Korea’ or ‘partly Korean’ ect. I’ve also had a friend who was a koreaboo and I asked her a question about England and she said ‘oh I don’t know, I moved from Korea, my mum is Korean’ she did not look a bit Korean, she clearly had a Western face and her accent was English too. A week later, I visited her house believing she was Korean (yes, I was that dumb) and I figured out she had lied to me. So, having strong beliefs in what my friend said, I asked her mum, ‘Are you korean? Your daughter said you were!’ 안녕!’ She then looked at me in disgust and said, ‘Of course not! I am from Italy!’.

That friend then started to speak in Korean and eat Korean food everyday (tteukbokki, kimbap, ramyeon ect.) and I said that maybe she should stop eating those foods everyday as it is not that healthy. I also tried to teach her the correct prononciation but she then said that she was pro (she said ay-ong-assay-oh). It is also annoying when white people exaggerate that they are close to someone who is korean. For example, my KOREAN boyfriend cooks food for me or I go shopping with my KOREAN friend. Like we get it but just because we are korean does not mean that we are like your idols and kdrama dudes. We still have an identity and we don’t JUST classify as ‘Koreans’.

However, I had another friend who loved listening to K-pop but she got bullied because of it. Online, when she posted a face reveal after many g-idle edits, she was accused of being a koreaboo and for liking kpop just because she was white and liked K-pop. She just posted things like this and it harms no one. We also have the rights to speak Korean, listen to kpop, understand Korean culture and eat Korean food, it’s just not right to lie about your identity to be under the influence of being Korean or holding Korean perspective. And, for those half Koreans, don’t feel you are obsessing over Korean culture like those koreaboos, you just might want to learn more about your mum or dads life when they were young or you might just like it and there is nothing wrong with that. To all the hate I get for this speech, I am just stating what has to be said. No matter if you are Asian or white or black or brown, you must not fake your identity and be true to yourself and love yourself for who you are.

Pet peeves about my roommate that literally make me consider ended it

1. Garbage in the sink I swear to fucking god who puts garbage into the sink? It makes me sick. Not only is it in the sink but it’s wet and mixed in with dirty dishes

2. She doesn’t do dishes. I went on a dish strike for 8 days where I did not go anywhere near the kitchen sink because it was so disgusting and she didn’t do dishes once, in EIGHT DAYS.

3. Dirty shoes in the house. Not just I need to grab something I forgot. Dirty shit covered shoes all through the house with no concern of cleaning up

4. Leaving the front door open. Why? Why can’t the door just be fucking closed? I have a cat and I’ve made it so abundantly clear that she can not go outside yet the door remains open every fucking day

5. Not cleaning. She does not clean whatsoever it’s disgusting

6. Complaining about her job. She doesn’t have a ‘real’ job she’s a farmer and I know farmers work they run the country but she literally doesn’t do anything she go outside for 4 hours max just to order other people around

6. Coming in my room uninvited. My room is my one place that I have control, the one place I keep clean. She comes in almost everyday to complain about her fake job and get my room disgusting. Sometimes she just comes in to shake off her dirty barn clothes and then leaves

7. Regularly leaving the stove on. Every other day I come home from work and the fucking stove is on. Is it so goddamn hard to have some fire safety

9 she’s a koreaboo. The absolute worst one I’ve ever seen. I enjoy kpop so I’ve seen saesangs and she’s worse

10. Having opinions like a white man. She’s so far right politically and it’s awful. Her opinions are the only ones that matter and if you disagree you’re wrong

11. Claiming to be asexual then telling me I’m her ‘lesbian pass’ and that I’m her lesbian. I am not a lesbian I’m an agender bisexual being constantly harassed

12. Not being okay with transgender. She has no idea I’m agender or Skye because I simply cannot deal with what would happen after that conversation. Her little brother is trans and as far as she’s concerned he’s dead to her.

13. Not believing in therapy. She’s a literal psychopath. I don’t say that lightly she has murder fantasies regularly and does kill animals‘ just because’ she once killed a cat who just had a kitten because she didn’t like it anymore.

14. Wishing her mom would kill herself because she finds her very annoying. Her mom is severely depressed and has been having an awful time since her accident which was tragic is all I’m going to say about it. She told me this proudly knowing I have tried to kill myself and have been hospitalized because of it.

15. Being against my consumption of recreational drugs. It is legal where I am to smoke weed which I do for medical reasons mostly sometimes I just feel like I need and that’s okay. I’m not an addict not that there is a problem with people who are it’s mostly just an occasional thing. I took up smoking darts because of her even though I do vape it wasn’t enough to deal with her which she is also aware is her doing.

16. Being so incredibly loud all the time. She has one volume and it’s screaming. Her voice is ruined because she’s never used an inside voice. Her hearing is gone because of her own yelling. And every time I’ve brought it up to be quiet she and I quote ‘that’s what you get for living with me’ getting a little excited is okay I get that but yelling at top volume from 8 am to 11 pm is just in called for

17. Treating me like I’m beneath her because she sublets to me. I’m less of a person because she rents out a room to me. Treating me like this is her apartment and I am an unwanted guest. I pay rent and a lot I might add to be in a single room not really allowed to do anything or use the living room. Because that’s hers and I can use it if I don’t change the tv or move anything.

18. Telling me to move out so she can turn my room into a ‘mannequin room’. If you didn’t think she was a psychopath before she wants a room dedicated to mannequins. Not to use just to have there because it would be better than having a human friend.

19. Not letting me have friends over because she doesn’t like them, yet inviting her friends over on a week night to be even louder because she doesn’t care that I have work in the morning

20. Making me take her places. She does not drive anywhere she has a license and car. She’s a terrible driver that shouldn’t be on the roads but that’s not why I have to drive. She just doesn’t like to and thinks is better that I’m a chauffeur. Never has she once paid for gas and I don’t know if you’ve noticed but gas is fucking expensive. Buying me a drink most times when we go out is good enough to her.

21. Hating my style. She hates on what I wear because I’m more punk/ getting into gothic even though her preferred fashion is tech wear which is also alternative fashion. She also hates the mohair I like even though I like kpop we don’t listen to the same groups and has to comment on how bad she thinks what I enjoy is

22. Constantly victimizing herself. She’s a bully and all around bad person who thinks every problem is about her. Her brother who’s trans said she makes him feel like killing himself and she thinks that just him trying to make her feel bad. She’s constantly fishing for compliments to make her self feel better like asking you to tell her she’s not terrible or stupid.

23. Not believing in therapy. She thinks therapy is a joke and seeing a therapist is stupid and makes you week. The only reason I have survived being around her is because I was in intensive therapy for years. The only thing keeping me together is working through my issues with a licensed professional but to be that’s just a joke and a waste of time.

I’ll probably have more but I think that’s all I can handle thinking about for now, thank you for coming to this long winded rant and I’m sorry this is on the Internet
