I still think people are weird about Dorohedoros setting. Like its not wrong to describe it as “everyone sucks” and it is appealing how everybody is equally justified and unjustified in what they do but I very much dont think the thing you should take away from it is theyre all equally Bad specifically. Do you really think BOWSER Mr."I'll lock you up in a cage above lava or in a giant tower until you love me" wouldn't be super fucking possessive and jealous of Luigi if they dated? What makes you think he would be loving or Caring? He would try to cut Luigi off from EVERYONE els ein his life to give ALL the attention to him, he would Sow Seeds of doubt, play on his insecuturies, Bowser would reassure Luigi that everyone thought of him as number two and he was the only one who Truely loved him because thats who Bowser IS Bowser is a Toxic Fucking Genocidal Turtle who has gleefully tried to enslave many races, destroy others and loves it when he is Evil. The only times he helps with the main plot is when people are invading on his schtick and he thinks it is unfair. If you want a Gay Luigi Ship Prince Peasly is Right There! And he's much better for the Lean Green Machine than Boswer has ever Been! All throughout Superstar Saga a consistent Joke is No one knows who the hell Luigi is, no one acknowledges him as someone to be treated with much respect other than Mario but Peasy right from the start knows that Luigi is a Superstar, he cares for Luigi, he gives Luigi a Rose, he has a fun, flirty rivalry with Lugi in a good portion of the game. okay i truly think scotch argues with seraph in his head all the time. ALL the time. scotch largely ignores them, and vice versa, because he dislikes them and they know it. seraph is very conflict avoidant lol, and as long as hes not a "threat" they dont care to talk to him about their problems. he probably argues with atlas and jacob (his older brother) too, atlas about more stupid small stuff, and jacob about childhood and life stuff :p

im trying to think of more general groups he would argue with but i cant come up with anything BAHAH. hes not exactly conflict avoidant in the annoying libra way that seraph is, he more just ignores conflict for his friends’ (mostly atlas’) sake. idk if that makes sense LOL

Ends up putting people in more danger a lot of the time. i think eloise is the only fan of communication in this friend group to be honest. i should have made her the main character

um. so atlas hates working out. he especially hates running, you know, the thing that wolves are known for doing a lot of? unfortunately the lycanthropy came with a side effect of pretty bad arthritis, so that doesnt exactly encourage him. he DOES exercise, a lot since hes pretty much required for his ermm "side job", but he hates it 😸 besides the arthritis it’s mostly because I think it’s silly that he hates it. yay

This was years ago, he shouldve been more safe, he shouldve done more. That what he tells himself as hes at your and his 8 year old daughters grave. He was a little closer then he thought as yall were right their with him whenever hed come to visit, or just watching over him. You were his guardian angels physically and liter. He doesnt know that yet, he will once you accidentally show yourself to him when hes bleeding out when no ones around and he hears your and your daughters blissful voice. But its not his day, not today. Not yet. You give him another kiss before making sure he doesnt bleed out and his daighter also gives him kiss and cuddles him while you fix where his wounds at. He doesnt believe its real until he wakes up in an alleyway with karl shaking him and his wound is wrapped like how youd wrap it. Hed just need to change it, karl would help him with that. He still felt your and your daughters presence, and that motivates him a lot more. He is able to get more done and he finally gives himself a break. Visiting yours and his daughters grave with flowers while he is working on a new song to help anyone struggling with something similar he went to. Bit he also lets himself go to the park and relieve yalls memories from when you were kids to teens to young adults, to where yall had yalls daughter as probably 18/19/20 year olds (i dont want teen pregn in this guys even though that exist. Thatd also be a little weird writing ahout this.) But anyways while he revisits the memories he knows you and your daughter are right with him, when are yall not? And now he knows how yall feel and yalls presence, so he now always knows yall are always with him

SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP

one of my favorite details about liam is the fact that he is very nice!!!! but he does NOT seem to get manners

his whole motive thruout season 2 is that he wants to save the others. from the looks of it, he doesnt CARE about the revenge part that much. like yeah itd be nice to stop the guy that physically harmed and killed you bc he did that, but thats an afterthought really - and i didnt interpret liam trying to kill airy even as an attempt at revenge so much as an extremely irrational and extremely stress-induced method of trying to make sure his friend + the others DIDNT get sent to the plane. his main priority is repeatedly that he wants to stop this from happening to anyone else. the only time he mentions himself is when saying that he 'cant live the rest of his life not knowing WHY this happened' (thats paraphrased) but that is immediately followed up w concern for this happening to other people

ofc, he also thinks he literally Has Nothing so the lengths he goes to to save the others CAN be interpretted as not things he would do if he thought he could go back to normal but at that point, thats just extremely specific speculation and i dont think thats supposed to be whats conveyed. some situations wouldnt even be necessarily related to him not having anything, so much as related to helping the others. he still throws himself into everything after "remembering what its like to have a life again." even when he realizes that he doesnt HAVE to have lost everything, he still cared and wanted to help the others more

i think he wanted closure, yeah, but he really did want to save the others. the scene of him helping julien is there for a narrative reason, after all (though i dont wanna get into that bc id go on a tangent about narrative choices in ONE). hell, hes the only one to try to get charlie out of the way of the stakes! (not that the others didnt try, but i feel like the intended take-away of liams general nature is fairly clear)

anyway, liam is nice!! he cares a lot abt others and doesnt want bad things to happen to them, and hes ok with bad things happening to him if it can help them.

but he does NOT understand a lot of social etiquette, or the concept of being polite.

my favorite example of this is the whole discussion abt going to go see bradley. when the restaurant gets shut down, liams first thought is to go 'sooooo. you dont have work, right?' when liam realizes he cant pay for the laptop, he just kinda. 'i dont have any money.' and stares at bryce like a cat looking at your plate of sandwich meat, waiting for you to inevitably give them some

this isnt even ONLY after the 7 months, theres hints of this trait before then! when amelia is talking abt stone making her team when the challenge, he just goes 'yeah sorry.' then talks abt how texty won their teams challenge, pointedly when texty is RIGHT there. liam doesnt even say goodnight back to owen! (this ones less impolite than the others but i think its silly to include)

it should be noted tho, that while this ISNT present before and after the plane, it DOES show up more prominently afterwards, and this could very much be the stress! but looking at WHY its more prominent afterwards also feels like it points more towards this just being How He Is.

all of the things hes kinda impolite abt? are things where he is TRYING to be nice, or arent unkind inherently. hes going to talk to bradley? well, doesnt bryce want to come? driving him there is more efficient anyway. oh you have work? well now you dont! so now things are easier! staying here isnt gonna make the restaurant reopen anyway! (liam also probably does NOT have the same weight associated w jobs that bryce does, since liam hasnt had a job in a capitalist society in 7 months. its probably still subconsciously there, but not at the forefront when the plane is still out there). i crashed your car? well, i think the lives of others matters a little more. you can get a new car, but if something happens to airys contestants WHO KNOWS whatll happen to them

a lot of it, i think, is made more extreme by stress and trauma, yeah, but these are patterns in logic that seem to already discard manners as being that relevant. and i, autistic, chose to view that as something hes just Like. hes not a dick and he doesnt ever mean to be! but also if someone can do something fairly minor to do something more important, why does he NEED to be polite abt it?? whats the POINT you get the same message across! and thats assuming he even REALIZES these things are "impolite," based on a lot of his interactions w vryce, i legitimately dont think he realizes how he acts could sometimes be considered 'impolite'

where bryce is knowingly kind of rude sometimes and doesnt care (though is STILL kind, he is just more blunt and uninterested in sounding nice, which i could do an entirely different essay on the autism of), liam seems to not really notice manners, nor does he think theyre very important to consider, and i just. really love that about his character :)

this is the kind of guy that, if you stubbed ur toe, hed probably not say 'oohh, sorry :(' and hed just be 'dang, that sucks' and move on

Honestly, I just can't see AFO being genuinely in love with Inko, even as someone who loves the dfo theory. We've never seen him care about anyone who isn't blood related to him and he mainly just sees people as tools to be used. If anything the Shimura Inko theory is true since I can see him wanting to marry Inko if she was Shimiras daughter as a haha because man he hated that woman. I think he wanted a kid to use as a tool too tbh, as another reason as to why he married Inko, but he does genuinely care for Izuku I think.

I cant blame you for thinking and feeling like that. You make very good points, because we still dont know much about afo as a person and of his backstory. And while Im convinced that afo DOES love both of them, Im very aware that I could be terrible wrong about it. But the thing is, hori did leave the readers enough hints that hisashi/afo loves or at least cares for his family and I will point out a few of that hints. But be aware that there are a lot more, I just write down the ones that come right to my mind while writing this down and other people here can also point out more.

But before I start, I want to point out something that many people either dont want to see or just ignore. The fact that afo IS ABLE TO FEEL LOVE FOR OTHER PEOPLE! That by itself is really rare for the big bad in a fantasy story and its actually the reason why afo is so terrible dangerous! Because unlike other main villains like emperor palpatine or voldemort, afo DOES understand love and unlike them he doesnt underestimate it or laughs about it. He is able to feel it himself - the first confirmation we had about this was afo telling his brother that he loves him. The problem with afo is not that he isnt able to love, the problem is that HE IS and that his way to love is VERY unhealthy and toxic. He himself sees no problem with it, because in his view its normal. Believe me, you would never want someone to love you the way afo did and STILL does for his brother. Its obssession and possessiveness. The kind of love that cant let go. The kind of love that makes the person ready to HURT the people he loves, so he will not lose them. The best example for a fictional character feeling this kind of love for others is anakin/darth vader. First for his mother, then padme and at least luke. Despite the not so popular option of most people, love is not always flowers and butterflies - it can be really ugly and dangerous. Villains like palpatine and voldemort lost in the end, because both underestimated the love of a parent to its child, because both are unable to love others and dont understand that concept. Afo on the other hand does understand, he actually TARGETS the loved ones of his enemys, because he is aware thats most peoples biggest weakness and can manipulate them with that - because once his brother was his biggest weakness too. But enough of that, now I want to point out a few hints in the manga of afo loving/caring for his wife and child. The thing with these hints are, that there are subtle enough, that people can easily overlook them or brush them off as nothing. A hint is only there to give the reader a faint idea about something going on, but not there to confirm anything till the author decides its time for it. So thats why afos care for izuku and inko is not very easy to see and only if you dig a little deeper and geither the evidences, the puzzle starts to take form.

So the first hint I will point out is what happens in kamino during the fight between afo and all might. During the whole fight, afo is pretty calm and collected, the ONLY time he gets SUPER PISSED is after he mentions izukus name and the confirmation that izuku has ofa - a very powerful and destructive quirk, that can easily kill his owner if he is not careful enough - espicially an untrained child. Afo calls all might a terrible teacher (as if he is not worthy to be izukus teacher and lets face it, all might didnt teach izuku anything important concerning ofa, except "dont let the egg in the mikrowave explode") and that he will make him regret a lot of things. Then afos popular quote: "you took something away from me, too". This "something" is so important for afo that he tells all might "thats why I will make sure, you will die a horrible, painful death." Japanese speaking people confirmed that the way afo says the "you took something from me" quote, he could talk about a thing, like his criminal empire in japan that all might destroyed, or a person/a family. But we have more or less the confirmation that it has nothing to do with his empire, because like 20 chapters ago, afo told spinner in the cave hideout that all might destroying his empire in japan wasnt a big lose to him, because he still has his hands in almost EVERY country in the world and "many loyal friends all around it." So that cant be what all might took "away" from him and he is so pissed about for losing, but also not ready to tell all might to his face WHAT it is! Instead he makes a secret out of it.

Also when afo arrived in kamino he destroyed the WHOLE place, except that tiny wall, 5 children hided behind and miraculously was untouched. Afo had "search" already at this point and knew izuku was 10 meters away from him. If he wouldnt care about him, he should have no problem to hurt him in the process of destroying everything around him, kidnapp him or using him as bait against all might. He even could have easily stole ofa from him, because at that point izukus will and confidence as a worthy ofa user was still very weak. Instead afo lures all might AWAY from the childrens hideout, never telling him "oh, by the way, your successor hides behind that wall", to weaken all mights posture and concentration. Also afo "send" visions of their own death to the kids, to paralyze them and root them on the spot. To make sure, non of them would interfere in his fight with all might.

When all might visits afo in tartarus, he confronts afo with the question if he wants tomura to kill him and izuku. Instead of answering him with "yes" or any other notion that he wants harm to come over izuku, he COMPLETLY avoids the question and changes the topic. And he does that all the time if something concerns izuku, he doesnt want to talk about him. Strange behavior for someone who is suppossed to give a rats ass about that boy and wants to kill him.

In the war arc, after the afo vestige took over tomuras body, he PUSHES izuku away with AIR CANON. The very same quirk, he destroyed kamino with and what was the end result? Izuku didnt get ONE scratch from that push, INSTEAD it was shigarafos hand that startet bleeding, because he holded the true strengh of the quirk back, to not injure izuku even more then he already was.

A thing that is also important to know, long before kamino, afo already suspected izuku to have ofa. In kamino he just got the confirmation. Not once did afo ever seem to consider to do harm to izukus mother. A man that is known for going after the loved ones of his victims, enemys and of the past ofa users. He had enough time. He didnt send someone after inko, or did go after her himself. He stayed away from her, a small and physically weak woman with a weak and untrained quirk, who cant protect herself against a villain, espicially one like him.

In the izuku vigilantes arc, afo told his minions to bring izuku ALIVE back to him. We know that afo had no problem killing past ofa users, despite them still having ofa at that point he tried to kill them. After he realized he couldnt steal ofa from banjo and en, he severly injured them and left them to die. He was fine giving ofa up. In their last moments banjo and en were able to transfere ofa to someone else. Read about ot here:

So if afo has no problem to kill ofa users WITH ofa, then why does he want izuku alive? He doesnt need him alive! The doc can take the quirks out of dead people and store them up. So why is izuku special?

Its also very sus that in over 350 chapters the doc NEVER mentioned izuku again in front of any other person, despite him knowing that izuku has ofa. As if he was ordered never to speak about him again, for his protection.

When afo spoke to izuku through the video message, he literally WARNED him, that he choose himself a thorny path and also tells him, that no matter how many people he will safe, all of them will lay the blame on him as soon as he is tired out and makes a mistake. Afo shows clear concern here to izukus mental state. Also his "in prison I never stopped thinking about you!" Big words from someone, who normally refuses to talk about him. Also when the mansion exploded, izuku had not ONE scratch on him and neither the other heroes. So for an explosion that big, it seems like it was pretty weak actually.

And now my personal favorite and in my eyes biggest hint that afo loves izuku. Afo DOESNT trigger danger sense! Thats a big deal! Because we know thanks to toga why danger sense didnt activate, when she tried to stab izuku. Because toga "loves" him. Danger sense needs malice and ill will to work. It didnt work with toga, because her way of loving izuku is "perfectly normal" to her. There was no malice, no ill will. And afo doesnt activate danger sense either. But we know, danger sense DID work around afo in the past, when the 4th still had ofa. Thats the reason why the 4th is the only ofa user that wasnt killed by afo himself. The only ofa user afo NEVER found. Because danger sense WARNED the 4th all the time, when afo was near and so he could run away in time and hide! Afo DOES trigger danger sense, the quirk works on him.... IT ONLY DOESNT WORK AROUND IZUKU!!!

Now I want to talk a little bit about afo and inkos relationship. First, I dont think afo fell in love with inko at first sight or something like that. If the inko shimura theory is true, I believe he wanted to use her against all might. More or less what he later does with shigaraki, minus the turning into a villain part, because inko was already an adult woman at that point. The reason why he may have fallen for her? Because I think that afo is deep down a very unhappy and lonely man, who suffers from abandoned issues (early death of parents, or they abandoned afo and yoichi at a very young age), because he shows clear signs for that, so afo had to grow up fast and also take care for his sickly younger brother, in a world someone like him was hunted and killed for having a "superpower". Thats where his obssession with yoichi came from - the only family he still had left. But while afo always took care for his sickly brother, no one ever really cared for HIM. And at that point, he was most likely still a child or a teenager himself. So when inko came and afo startet to spend time with her more (originally to manipulate her), he slowly startet to develope feelings for her (could be romantic or platonic), because she was the first person since yoichi that CARED for him. Not worshipped him like a god. Cared for him as a person! Inko is a very sweet, loving and understanding person with a golden heart. She may not be perfect and also failed a few times, but she learned from that and if there is something that makes inkos character stick out, its her incredible powerful love for izuku and her support for him. If she was like that with afo too, a man I believe craves for to be loved, it wouldnt shock me if he did fall for her. He even said, after he blew up lady nagant, that "the heart is an easy thing to sway", when she startet to believe in true heroes again. He said that as if he knew what he was talking about. And like already mentioned, not once did afo go after inko, despite having enough time and reasons to do so.

Now I want to mention the whole hades x persephone parallels. Afo is called hades at least 3 times in the manga and was hold prisoner in tartarus, hades realm. The thing is, in greek mythology there is no hades without an persephone. Both are the two sides of the same coin. Death and life/rebirth. So if afo is hades, there needs to be a persephone. And hades fell in love with persephone while watching her picking flowers. He fell in love with her beauty, her innocence and kindness and because she felt as lonely as him (because of her overprotectve mother "locking" her up on an isolated island). Hori used greek mythology in the past already and he knows of hades and where hades is, persephone is never to far away. Persephone is the goddess of spring and the name midoriya means "green valley", fitting inko way to much and gives you an image of spring time.

An other very strong hint for afos romantic feelings for inko, is what he ordered the aoyamas to bring to him when he spoke to them on the phone. He said "Im hankering for a good drink. A 40 year old macallan would be great." The aoyamas then tell him "how about a 16 year old, our son can bring it to you" with afo agreeing. The 16 year old macallan was confirmed to be a code word for izuku. So the 40 year old macallan afo ASKED FIRST TO BRING TO HIM, should be the code word for a person too and inko is 41/42 right now and izuku 16. Also @psychomurderz checked how afo says this in japanese and found out, that he speaks about that 40 year old macallan in a very soft and affectionate manner. He REALLY wanted that drink! But the aoyamas could only offer him the 16 year old. But he was fine with that too. You can read about it here:

Then when afo talkes with spinner in the cave, afo mentions his 3 main goals. We find out that ofa is only his midterm goal, an information that spinner surprised a lot, because he (and we) thought ofa is his final goal. But afo explains, that he planned ahead for a long life and that he "always wanted to have a chance for once" and he feels like, as if that chance is almost there now. So what is this chance? I talked about here in this post:

When afo shows up in front of aoyama and izuku, the first explains to izuku was afos goals are. To rule over the world by controlling the worlds ressources like water, electricity etc and economics. Afo then praises aoyama, but says this: "very good, but not completly correct. Is that what your parents told you?" So why is it not completly correct? And what is this chance afo wants so badly? I think both go hand in hand with each other. What afo wants to have and never properly had a chance for - is a family. Thats his final, ultimate goal! Yes he wants to rule over the world and shape it in the way he thinks is for the best, but he doesnt want to do it alone. He doesnt want to end alone. In the past he wanted yoichi by his side, now he wants his new family, the one all might took away from him, by smashing his face into a potato, so he wasnt able to return to them, because it would endanger them. Afo is not palpatine or voldemort, who dont get the concept of love. Both want to rule alone. Both want to have all the power for themself. Afo is not like that. There are also more hidden hints, like the fact that hisashi and inko are STILL married and that hisashi is financielly supporting his family. If afo wouldnt care about them, he wouldnt give his money to them. And we know that the midoriyas live a really comfortable life in a very big appartment in a big city, with a lot of food and with lots of hero (all might) merch for izuku. All this things are EXPENSIVE in japan. Inko doesnt have a job, she is a stay at home mom. So the amount of money hisashi sends home is big enough that his family can live a very comfortable life, without to worry for money and inko needing a job. And afo needs exactly THAT money to financial his nomous and other criminal projects. And we know from vigilantes that afos minions are not allowed to spend more money then really necessary. So why should he send HIS money to a woman and child he doesnt care about? Right, that doesnt make any sense! Even IF he only cares about izuku, why didnt he take izuku away from inko years ago and turned him into a villain? Why didnt he kill her if she was just a birthing machine in his eyes and after she gave birth to his son? Even if afo wanted to rub salt into nanas wounds (by marrying her daughter), there was NO LOGICAL REASON for him to do so! A wife could give him a lot of problems. Could snitch on him to the police and heroes, if she finds out the true about him. If he was mainly interested in fathering a child, marrying inko makes even less sense. He could act as her boyfriend, promise to marry her as soon the child is born and then dump her or both of them. He deffinitetly wouldnt send money to them!

The hands here are afos. (No they dont belong to kirishima like wiki claims, because first, kirishimas important role is in the next volume and second you can see the owner of the hands wears a suit jacket and a white shirt, sonething kirishima doesnt wear in kamino. Also the hands belong to an adult). The hand over tomura is that of a puppeteer (tomura is just a marionette for afo) and the one under izuku, looks as if he is about to touch his face in a loving way. (Bakugou in the center, means afo holds his life in his hands).

So while there are a lot more hints then the ones I wrote down here, I hope it gives you some idea anon, why me and so many others believe afo loves or at least cares enough for his family. Of course no one knows for sure till its confirmed, but I think hori left enough hints and still does so.

javier is, a very very very morally grey person. he is nice and compassionate and so caring and kind. but he is SUCH a hypocrite with his morals. he has this whole thing with anim about how murder is bad and inexcusable but he got his mom killed. and his reasoning was "she was bad" and she was, but also, its subjective. javier is like "bad people deserve to die and good people do not" but then picks and chooses who is bad and who is good. anim by his definition, a killer, is bad, but he makes an exception for them because .... theyre hot and hes drawn to them and he loves them. which isnt a good excuse. he has such a complex about how much Better he is than zora and how he would Never Stoop So Low as if he didnt play a part in her becoming who she became. and hes really not much better than her at all.

and he loves selfishly. he "loves" selfishly because he doesnt LOVE most people, his relationships literally went "this person is showing interest in me, i need to bend over backwards to their every whim and be absolutely perfect and passive and never ever have an opinion or do anything wrong" and he does it "to make people happy" he thinks, and a part of him does, but a main reason he does it is the dopamine. he gets praised for being a good person and so helpful and kind and considerate. people say they love him and thats a reward he strives for because he didnt get that love as a child and hes trying to get it now. but he doesnt truly Love anyone before anim. and he realizes this because he starts trying to make them happy, and they dont give him anything. he gets no reward and that would usually turn him away, but he finds that he doesnt CARE if they reciprocate his feelings or if theyre nice back. he just wants them to be happy no matter WHAT and that is true love.

also..... he is a little. in DEVILTOWN au only he does fuck a patient (august) even though hes not "officially" a patient. august refuses to get help unless javier sleeps with him so javier does it to help him. but like. hes also getting 20 year old twink hole. again his intentions are like, mostly pure, but not fully. and then hes hypocritical with like "oh but thats bad, but im different because hes not officially my patient and its the only way" and blah blah.

Do you think since the Samadhi Fire seems to be triggered by negative emotions, at least from what you can see before Mei controls it during the last battle, Wukong and her had a bond of two beings that could really cause a lot of damage if they don't control their temper?

Mei and sun wukong man theyre such a father daughter duo. i call them-----just realised i dont have a duo name for them yet mkay mkay anyways.

in Canon i can definitly see them bonding over this. both of them have SO MUCH power. they could overthrow heaven if they wanted to but if they lose thier temper. if they lose control over themselves they could hurt people. they could hurt the ones they love.

main reason why i like em so much is bc like wukong already knows what thats like and can help Mei through it. i genuinly see more of wukong in Xiaojiao then in Mk. Mk might be like wukong in a hero sense but thats when wukong is MASKED. like thats only partially him. When wukong is a hero he is masking his true self so people see him as passive as possible and ppl arent scared of him. Wukong actively masks himself into what Mk natturally is so that no one ends up disliking him.

Meanwhile some true traits we see in canon with Wukong is how much he cares for the people he loves. He would do anything for them and is extremly distraught by the idea of them getting hurt. like when Lbd showed wukong a vision of Mk burning.

Wukong is a very family oriented person with no family. at least not rn. hes getting there with Mk but my point comes in this next bit.

Mei is as well. In the first episode she's helping out Mk. Shes acting silly when they get off the bike but the MINUTE Mk mentions the red guy was trying to kill him mei pulls out a fukin DOOM button ready to litterally blow up the person tryna hurt her bro.

She's constantly around defending Mk and her group of friends. and then when the samadhi fire happens shes upset partially because wukong has hurt her family. shes upset about the fire too but uuuuu

First of all, anon, chill and even though, i think i and many people already explained enough (for example; this post) why they think this way but since i am bored, here we go again.

I think at this point in story its not even about my or your thoughts anymore. Its what story and plot showed. I dont know what author needs to show, especially after writing 'my villain academia' and 'war' arc.

Why i think they are revolutionary?

I think this one scene itself shows many things. That Shigaraki is causing a dramatic change that involves politic revolution. In BNHA, a lot of sentences main characters used for theme of story and its purposely written for audience to question this. Story showed many times that hero society has its flaws and heroes are not doing anything about it. And Shigaraki with his tiny group are challenging that mindset. AGAIN, their ways are wrong, obviously cause they are killing people but they are the one who made that dramatic start and Izuku and hero friends will also make it continue, most likely.

Anon, this is not something fans made up. And most 'villain stans' dont even care their fave is revolutionary or activist or not, there are many people who just enjoy characters even they are 'evil'. Character doesnt have to fight or involve with world issues to be loved.

Villain in stories means that someone who opposes heroes or criminal or someone who is actually bad.

But isnt word itself involving a lot of people/characters by its definiton? If 'villain' means criminal, does every person who cause crime is 'bad', even though thats not possible for anyone so are you gonna decide that they are evil or not, depend on the damage of they caused, without ever looking at their past? Because believe or not, accept or not, past matters and affects people. I understand, especially for people who live righteous life, it might realy hard to empathize with others who made mistakes but yknow what? Never say something like 'i would never do this' because you never know what life brings to you.

Also, villains in stories can get redemption which means they wil make effort to change, if villains are just 'bad people in core', then why would they ever change though? Why people in real life even change at first place? If they can change, why they are 'villains at first place? Why someone villains change while other never even consider changing? And why 'change' is meaningfull.

And also the 'hero' word. First of all, heroes in stories might just be called like that cause they are simply main character or they might be actually hero.

But what makes someone hero though? Simply being good person that never make any mistakes? Is it even possible though? Or saving people? Or simply being good person? But what if that person saves people for selfish reasons, like fame or money etc? So to be able to be hero, do you have to be %100 selfless that every time you save someone, you never expect anything in return? Is it even possible thet never thinking yourself? Lets say, its possible, isnt it so bad for person to think about theirselves? Someone who self destrcuts is really doing this for kindness or they cope their trauma? Cant people think about others while also thinking about theirselves?

Do you think that Izuku is so kinder than characters like Ochaco because he was ready to kill himself for others? The factt that he is gonna take things that far, is it really because he is so kind or simply because has NO self worth?

All those hero-villain thing is worth to consider.

Its also ironic that people, especially bnha fans still question this. Like, 'What is the hero?' is one of the main theme in BNHA. It also showed the tiny line between heroes and villains can break for anyone.

I know that there are a lot of characters who is presented like this by media but well, thats not how real life works. Victims in real life are more gray than you could ever think, they are not your uwu baby that exist to gain your so precious pity. They are just humans.

One of the reasons i love BNHA is how realisticly written abuse victims are, its feel more realistic and that makes them more human. And the more human character is the more relatable they become for audience.

Not to mention that all those 'heroes' and 'villains' characters are just written by someone (a human being) means it can be bad writing or simply uninteresting for readers which is why writing criticism exists.

There are so many different type of 'hero' and 'vilain' character that you cant even put them all under same title because they are so different. Even though, i understand what you mean, anon about how people fall for every sob story' because someone people just dont or dont like to think that deep. Sometimes, i also feel some backstories are oof because it seems they ae only there to gain sempathy from audience and thats it. I cant talk for everyone's instead but for me, i just look at characters and try to analyze them to understand better or read other people's analysis to see what i might be missing about that character.

I think someone can be both seen as victim who deserves to be healing and criminal who needs to be punished for doing bad things at the same time. And someone making effort for changing always matters and i think thats trying to be best version of yourself is what makes someone 'good person'.

35. when did they feel loneliest?

i feel like this ones a LITTLE obvious but while his mom was in the hospital probably! his childhood home would be all empty he'd have no one to come home to and he would only come home after doing jobs and visiting her so he had no time for literally anyone or anything else, not that he really had the energy for anything else anyway, at least after she died he would go out and just talk to anyone off the street but while she was still alive it was just him and a dying woman while he pushed away anyone else bc he felt extremely vulnerable during this time too (he was also like. 25 so he was also just dealing w being a young adult and all the angst there so . he was NOT doing well)

why it drives me crazy when people say c!ranboo has no morals but think c!wilbur and c!ranboo could still have potential to be narrative foils

morals:

loyalty to family/friends: in both his normal functioning and his enderwalk stage ranboo is incredibly defensive of his loved ones. this is 100% the center of his moral compass. he doesn't do certain things he fears will upset others (thus succumbing to peer pressure yes) but i deeply disagree with people argument that that is proof he has no moral backbone. particularly due to a couple of instances:

ranboo visiting tommy in exile: while not directly breaking the rules there was a general expectation, especially the people ranboo spent his time with, of not really visiting tommy. it wasnt really a set rule or anything but ranboo was definitely putting himself at risk by doing so.

protectiveness over michael: when sam and puffy showed up to prank ranboo, he was incredibly defensive over his son. he was ready to kill to protect his son if it came down to it.

rescuing tommy+tubbo: while we have it confirmed this instance was in their enderwalk stage, ranboo going both proves ranboos values in the enderwalk are the same (or i'd argue strengthened even) ranboo moved protectedly in front of tubbo when he and tommy had separated

forgiveness: he is willing to give people more than one chance, he is incredibly quick to judgements but for the most part he does not rely on other peoples opinions of each other to dictate the way he feels about them, he does take it into account in his overall image of them, but like with revivebur, he is willing to offer him a chance.

reciporcity to kindness: when people are kind to him, he is kind back. y'all let this slide as a moral with techno. it counts here. no im not counting it as necessarily loyalty because he is polite and kind even to those he isn't close to.

self-reliance: for better or worse ranboo does not think he needs other people to survive, in many instances he has displayed thinking he and everyone else would be better off if he were isolated. he does not want to depend too much in anyone, which can especially be seen in his desire for wealth. i think it has always been more about i dont have to rely on others, if things go south i can still survive (obviously part or it is needed something to do on stream, im applying other characteristics of ranboo to infer) but we can also see this in him retreating to himself (panic room, not telling anyone about his book being missing) when he is threatened because he believes the best way to handle it is himself

security: ranboo is incredibly driven bu his desire for safety and stability for both himself and for his loved ones. he thrives on consistency. he struggles the most when things begin to change.

difference between foil and antagonist (just for clarity cause some people have been switching up the definitions)

"an antagonist is a character who is in direct opposition to the protagonist. their actions deliberately hinder the protagonist from achieving her goal. this relationship helps build conflict and propels a story forward."

the opposing traits/beliefs that i think will cause the most conflict between the two (ranboos will be written like this and wilburs like this to differentiate)

leader vs follower

probably the most obvious contention point, pointed out on 5/05 stream by wilbur pressing ranboo on what he stands for. wilbur wants to be in charge. but i think ranboo is how wilbur wanted people to value him. wilbur wanted to be the guy that everyone liked because he believed being liked comes with power. ranboo does not necessarily want to be well liked by everyone, but he wants to at least be neutral so he does do things in order to keep them on his side

conflict driven vs conflict averse

wilbur thrives on chaos and conflict, much like dream he is willing to manipulate situations. rqnboo does everything he possibly can to avoid it

cockiness vs insecurity

wilbur is obviously bold and arrogant. he thinks extremely highly of himself and the postions he does and could potentially hold. he is ruled by this factor and often does not think about the consquences of his rashly made decisions(thats not to say he isn't calculated or intelligent, he is, he just focuses on how things affect him rather than others)

means to an end vs no ulterior motives

all of ranboos bonds are strong because when he cares about people he does what he needs to to take care of them, they usually initiate out of instances of kindness, but he does not seem to expect anything in return. he cares about people because he loves them, nothing more nothing less. wilbur however while some of his relationships were initially based on care the motives became corrupted and its hard to say whether there are any relationships he has at this point that aren't ruled by some kind of benefit for him (my only guess for that would be phil)

similaries: paranoia, trust issues, secretiveness

ranboo and wilbur really are two sides of the same coin, yes they are opposites in a lot of aspects but despite the differences in their values orginate from the same place they jutted of in two completely different directions, they tried to solve the same issue in vastly different ways. ranboos paranoia was attempted to be solved by isolationism, while wilburs mainly tried to solve it through manipulation. ranboo pushed people away and wil tried to force them to be around. both backfired for them and caused them to retreat further into the paranoid states demonstrated by wilbur blowing up l'manburg and ranboo catastrophizing with hearing dreams voice.

I think wilbur's main contenion with ranboo resides in wilbur thinking ranboo glazes through life easily, and that they disagree on what morals means. being more confrontational does not mean you are more or less moral than another person. wilbur does not understand that differing morals does not equal none at all.

I don't think their relationship is going to act as an antagonist because while ranboo is actively keeping an eye on wilbur it wouldn't really make sense for ranboo to suddenly be more confrontational. I know a lot of people are citing the Burr vs Hamilton relationship as parallels in their dynamicI want to remind you that narrative foils are not conflicting in nature. conflict can happen. but the point of them is to highlight the differences in character traits.

burr wanted power but he wanted it to come to him vs hamilton wanting power and actively chasing it

yes this makes sense for wilbur, but it doesnt for ranboo. ranboo doesn't want power. he never has. the reason burr waits on the sidelinesnis cause he is waiting for the chance to act, but ranboo is not waiting for something to happen, in fact he would rather have the exact opposite, for things to be as uneventful as possible.

this is exactly what I referenced earlier between the two. ranboo cares about family, wilbur about career. while a lot of their behavior originated from a similar place, their paths rapidly diverged.

i'm gonna be honest i find it extremely hard to believe that a situation will exist where wilbur waits and ranboo acts. however, if one does i still firmly believe it will be revolving around (likely in defense of) the people ranboo loves and cares about, specifically michael, tommy, tubbo. it would be where he is cementing his views of choosing people. but wilbur being hesitant is still difficult for me to think of a scenario on which he would that hesitant? for it to be his downfall?

important to note: ghostbur did also akin ranboo to burr so it is definitely possible that this dynamic is going to countinue to playout in the future

Tommy's prison/revival arc isnt well written actually

Anyways ive been wanting to talk on it a while for a bit here but havent had the Time or like. The thought to. But im gonna go off now.

First off im gonna say im ASSUMING this stream and plot of tommy being in the prison with dream is written entirely by tommy and dream. Wilbur May be involved in the latest stream but im not sure.

Bringing tommy back to life after only three days of him being dead did practically nothing to progress plot, the characters, or audience's understanding. In fact i feel that it damaged Other characters' potential and plot and already established plotlines.

The 'development' aspect

A really, really easy way to see if anything has changed or developed through an arc or plotline is to straightup just compare the 'beginning' to the 'end' in terms of the barebones situation. So;

Beginning: tommy is trapped in an isolated prison cell with dream, his own abuser who has hurt him in the past, for an unknown amount of time. He's terrified of dream and being stuck there with him.

End: tommy is trapped in an isolated prison cell with dream after being killed then revived by him, his own abuser whos hurt him in the past, for an unknown amount of time. Hes terrified of dream and being stuck there with him.

Okay. This is simplified obvious. But the point stands. ALTHOUGH the troupe of 'going back to the beginning' is common in the heroes journey its. It doesnt work here. Has tommy learned anything? Has he changed as a character? Is the severity of their situation any different? Have we, as the audience, learned anything new?

Im going to expand on that last point because i think it has the strongest potential argument. Technically for progression in literature and development of plot/characters, things can Change without them being Aware as characters. It can change just by the audience's perception changing or being challenge.

Slight example: i've been reading a webcomic called Your Throne. Its a fantasy/political drama about a noble lady who entered a competition with another noble lady to become the empress. The main lady lost despite her being a better fit, and the comic starts with the main lady trying to assassinate the empress. Its assumed and stated by the main lady that she 'ruined her life' and so thats all the readers know. However, later in the novel we see flashbacks to the competition itself and find that the two ladies were extremely close friends, neither wanting anything bad for the other, but it was the emperor himself who manipulated both of them for his own agenda. Those flashbacks gave us an entirely different idea of who the real antagonist is and completely changed the two main ladies' relationship. THAT is how the audience's understanding of the plot and novel can be used to change the entire story. We dont get such here though

Some things that were brought to light during tommy being dead/revived:

Dream is capable of reviving people infinitely

This was already implicated and assumed. The book dream has being a means of reviving people has been around Technically since schlatt's death. This just 'confirmed' what was known

Time works differently/feels longer in the afterlife

This doesnt really impact much beyond emotions and implications. If we had more insight into what the 'afterlife' is like beyond nothingness perhaps so. But really it just makes it so wilbur being dead for what feels like 9 years and tommy having been dead for 2 months appeal to emotions.

Wilbur is evil

This one fuckin sucks i cant lie HSKSHSISSGEGDV. Like i was gon go on bout it and i will but it jus sucks. We have nothing to go on besides tommy's word, no examlles of what Horrible things wilbur said could make tommy assume this, etcetc. Ill most likely make a seperate post on how this feels like we're just going to get 'wilbur is a horrible villain' type with him. But still. I feel wilbur Not Being Good isnt a new development.

Dream is going to revive wilbur

This doesnt feel new either, part because phil had wanted to revive wilbur before (ill get to that more later) and that tommy had kept dream alive/initially imprisoned him with the idea of him reviving wilbur.

Dream believes wilbur will break him out of prison

Okau this makes no sense to me actually. I cwnt understand How exactly wilbur would be able to do this? Or why dream believes he even Could? Mans been dead for like 9 years and all we Know of the afterlife is that its black... nothingness. How would 9 years of that make wilbur capable of busting the prison open?

So. Yeah. All in all this plotline hasnt done anything new, developed things, or altered people's perceptions. We just ended up back at square one. Back to tommy being traumatized, dream being 'evil' and horrible and doing villain monologues, and them being stuck together.

Other characters and plotlines

Im pretty damn sure tommy's revival fucked up a LOT of other characters' plotlines and potential development. Honestly i feel this has a lot to do with the writers not communicating with other ccs well enough. But Ill talk about specific characters from least to most fucked over in my opinion:

Sam

He's the best off. He hqd been there during tommy's death, had been close to tommy, had majorly blamed himself and his own mistakes for tommy's death. His grief and self hatred was actually really heartbreaking and well done. The attached character of Sam Nook being unaware of tommy's death and simply waiting for tommy to return was a really good parallel to sam's own grief and anger. like it really snapped sam the guy who cares for tommy and wants to do Right by him back together with him as the Warden of the prison. Mixed personal life with 'just business'.

I feel it wouldve been nice to have him like. Have more time to grieve properly and come to terms eith tommy's death and his own involvement/influence over the events. Him finding tommy alive again Could be a means of him like. Facing his own grief head on if done well.

Ranboo

Mostly in the context of him and sam's argument do i feel it got screwed over. The weight of them yelling at each other and trying to find who to blame and the implications that Maybe ranboo was the one who caused the security breach that closed down the prison on tommy just.... doesnt hit so hard anymore. Because how can there be blame and arguments and a 'who done it' mystery when tommy popped up all fine again?

Puffy

I dony know much of her involvement or how she found out tommy died (besides metagaming shhhhh) but i saw her monologuing of how they 'failed' tommy and like. Her whole 'he was so young we the Adults failed him' spiel is like........... inconsequential? Now??? Like no dont worry he died but hes alright now.

Philza

BET YOU DIDNY EXPECT TO SEE THIS FUCKER!!!!!! But actually though i want to talk bout how this ties into phil. A LOT. for Zalbr ❤. But also because i see ppl tying phil to tommy's death n like nah shutup u doin it wrong. Ill go off more in a Wilbur Post. But essentially: i dont like that dream is now going to revive wilbur. I feel they arent going to tie philza into this Despite phil having originally been trying to revive his son and studying on it and Attempting and Failing. But now suddenly dream can just. Say some magic words and Poof wilbur lives? So we're just going to Kill philza's revival attempts plotline and leave that hanging? This made his efforts seem pointless and Wack like oh why didnt you just Say The Magic Words phil????

Niki

I feel really bad for niki. She hasnt been able to do a lore stream during tommy's 'death' (she tweeted she wanted to but her computer wasnt working) and considering her entire character.... that shit is important. We seen it with Jack Manifold how tommy's death impacted Him considering he literally wanted tommy dead. And since niki is in a similar boat to jack of trying to kill tommy and it being her Only goal...... thats extremely important.

BUT. i feel there wasnt any communication. Did she or anyone even know tommy would be revived? Did no one consider they could At Least let her do a single stream on it? Like jack manifold????

We couldve gotten a Really good niki lore stream. I genuinely was so excited for it and i dont regularly watch her. But we seen it with jack manifold which is why i dont feel he got screwed because mans genuinely did So Good he could pop off with anything n i think it works in His favour. But now........ for niki. Canonically she never even knew tommy was Dead. So its like nothing even happened for her. Is she just supposed to continue on trying to kill tommy with no progression?

What i think would work

This is more me being like 'hey @ the dsmp writers let me in' type speculation sbosegussgs. But i was thinkin on a Really easy way to 'fix' this without rewriting lore and the streams.

Dream should kill tommy again now that he's been revived and Leave Him Dead.

More development for the characters who are affected by his death Especially niki. More time for grief and self reflection and development

A chance for the audience to figure out what the 'afterlife' really is.

Dream is supposed to be smart and a master manipulator or something right? Why doesnt he use being able to revive tommy as a bargaining chip with sam for his own freedom?

The audience would now Know dream's intentions with tommy better, that this death isnt 'final', but we could still see other characters' grief and reactions and coping without it feeling cheap. Ive seen some 'but people dont know tommy is alive so hes still dead in their mind' but that sucks imo.

We'd know more on dream's ability to revive people and that he can just Do It on a whim (which i think sucks but hey im trying) but no one else would know this canonically

What are some characters you hate that no else seems to?

God okay I was staring at this ask like... Fuck- bc I don't have a lot of characters I really hate? Theres some I don't like n some I think r overrated but not a lot I hate and those I do are already heavily hated! But then I remembered... Other continuities exist! So heres a list of a few characters I dont like in order from least hated to most:

Like 40 or 50% of the male g1 autobot cast. I dont know how anyone can pick favorites from characters like Blaster and Gears and Huffer some of these guys have like quirks to them but no personality! Like is it just me or are there way more autobots than decepticons in G1? The cons are all very unique n good but some of the autobots really just like have the default 'good guy who makes jokes n delivers Cool line' personality' I have no idea how people don't seem to get tired of it sometimes. But also I haven't watched a ton of g1 I was mostly just disappointed that Blaster was so hyped n I generally thought he was kinda boring. I HAVENT WATCHED A TON OF G1 THO so I could be wrong abt all of this.

Okay I dont really hate any of them but TFA Bee, Wasp and Shockwave are horribly written characters none of them contribute anything of substance to the main story and Bee doesnt even have a character arc which is fine sometimes but the core theme of TFA is 'underdogs become heroes' WHICH KINDA DEMANDS ALL OF UR CHARACTERS AT LEAST HAVE SOME SORT OF ARC- okay yeah thats it for now I'm gonna make a whole video on like every tfa character one by one and Bee is def getting a 2 hour one explaining his wasted ass potential and horrible writing. But so is Shockwave,,, uh but Wasp didnt have much potential tbh hes really unnecessary in every way.

Cyberverse Lockdown. WHY WASN'T IT BLITZWING WHY WHY?? Look I can get the appeal of himbo evil henchman Lockdown but Like when you think about it we already have tons of cons who can be that! Like in the transformers series we rarely get to see stuff like outside forces or factions get involved with or benefit from the war despite how fucking interesting that could be! Lockdown was one of the few character who when he showed up I was invested and interested bc he was unique and posed a unique threat! Why would u take that away from him and make him another con alongside Clobber/Lugnut AND NOT MAKE IT BLITZWING SO THE LUGNUT BLITZWING DUO CAN RETURN?? WE WERE ROBBED!!

Tfa Beachcomber. Why on earth would a series n continuity that is anti military and seems pretty anti war turn one of the only truly anti war/military characters into an idiot hippie. Like Beachcombers episodes abt the cons and autobots destroying that wonderful place he found bc of the resource they found there was impactful and I think a truly great episode!! Why would you disrespect him like this??? He wasn't an idiot hippie he just cared about the environment and didn't like war?? I have no idea what they were thinking with this.

Tfa Highbrow and Ultra Magnus. War crime grandpas who both suck and contributed to awful things like the Omega project and their awful autobot society they Both deserved to be murdered and honestly good for Shockwave killing them both. Idc how sympathetic the almanac n trial of megatron tries to make em both I hate them and Shockwave Did nothing wrong when he killed em.

Tfp Optimus. Hes an idiot Megatron sucks and when u witness so much of Megatrons horrible actions and u know Optimus will defend his right to live until he runs out of breath It just becomes annoying n stupid! Also he's not the dad of the group he's far too tired n distant and 'let me die already' to be a good dad to anyone here- Poor Ratchet find a better man. Also he should've died so Bee became leader in the movie Bee went through such a great arc of becoming a strong leader AND HE WAS ROBBED!!

Tfp Smokescreen. WHY WAS HE IN THE SHOW TELL ME WHAT HE EVER CONTRIBUTED TO ANYTHING. If u call Bee the kid appeal character in this show and gloss over this guy I'll maul you. I Hated this dude he felt like he was here bc the kids needed someone cracking jokes n talking about destiny and stuff to keep the kids watching! I really don't understand why we needed him there or why his 'actually I'm not good enough to be leader' arc was needed? I just don't know why he was there he feels like he contributed nothing meaningful. My hot take on tfp is that Smokescreen should've become a villain and killed Optimus and tried to take the Matrix by force n then Bee would be Forced to rise to leadership and take him down. It would've been soooooo cool.

first main thought: sad. sad sad sad. poor achilles

second main thought: i was thinking abt this as i went to sleep but the difference in 'what an author wants to communicate with a piece of media' and 'what an audience wishes to take from a piece of media' are two different things that ive never thought of much before.

i mean when i read ttt issues, what i want is Lore. i want to learn about the characters, i want to see what makes them tick, i want to learn about their relationships with each other and see how they grow over the years. but thats not necessarily what the authors want to explore with their stories-- like, the nicky story tells you actually very little about nicky as a person or nicky and joe's relationship (at least it doesnt tell you anything we dont already know), and thats not really seemingly the point of the story itself.

but anyways.

ACHILLLESSSSSS

i was honestly expecting smth very different from this one, primarily bc the blurb mentioned andy 'returning' after leaving achilles and i thought that meant her returning to the squad. and bc booker became immortal around the time andy was with achilles, i thought this story would be about them meeting and the obvious clash they would have over andy mourning her relationship (that ended due to her immortality, that she had to let go of due to her immortality) and booker refusing to end his relationships bc he doesnt have the experience there that andy had.

but 'returning' meant returning to her and achilles' house and her finding out how she died, which. rip. i just kind of assumed he died of old age.

AND IT SUCKS bc she left specifically so he wouldnt get hurt, and all she ended up rlly doing is leaving him to die violently alone

i was kind of upset we didnt rlly learned much abt their relationship (what did andy love abt achilles? what did he love abt her? what did they spend their days doing after they retired?) i did love the little bits showing how the two were different, especially in regards to how his life as a runaway slave affected him (and didnt affect andy)

something something andy's immortality granted her the confidence to set aside her weapons so thoroughly for so long, while achilles' past as a slave and respective mortality didnt allow him to be so hasty

but anyways the fact that andy wanted peace so bad-- i mean, like ive said before, we kind of see some of the worst of andy (well, maybe not the worst worst of her) even within the movie. but regardless of how much andy is tired of humanity's shit and how much she likes to swing her axe, she's still a person who wants peace and quiet and safety at the end of the day like anyone else.

its one of a million things i like abt andy. she can be a vengeful god and a doting mother and a thousands-year-long mourning daughter and a tired mercenary & on top of all of those Layers(TM) she can be Just A Person Who Wants Peace. her multitudes are wild to think abt sometimes, how many lives she's led

'but the older she gets the harder she finds conjuring their love in her memory when she comes here. all thats left is the hate and rage that destroyed this place. and that will last forever' 😭

tbh this issue is kind of a monument to how much the immortals lose to bigotry & hatred

and speaking of, the nicky one was alright. like i said you dont really... . learn much abt nicky or joeandnicky. i mean

1. nicky misses joe when hes gone. shocker

2. nicky kills violent racists. double shocker

3. all the violence and hatred nicky witnesses over this period bothers him. huge shocker!

i mean nothing it goes over is a surprise and (unpopular opinion here) im not usually a fan of shmoopy romantic stuff. joe's speech is a huge exception to me and i think its bc the speech is Romance With A Point. that speech isnt just a bunch of flowery sentiments, but it actually tells the viewer quite a bit about joe and nicky's relationship.

(i remember in one of luca's interviews he mentioned that, while reading the tog script, he wondered what a 900 year long relationship would be like, but the answer to his question was pretty much all in the van speech.)

also i think ive mentioned this before, but i tend not to like joenicky fics where joe or nicky have a Big Speech for the other bc pretty much all other romantic sentiment pales in comparison to the van speech for me. and nicky's letter in this story is the same way for me. you can read the whole thing here if you want (the rest of the dialogue within this story is mostly just confederates being racist and nicky being like 'thats nice' before he kills them lmao)

i dunno the whole thing is like. im so sad and lonely. and im killing a bunch of people and that sucks. and im so lonely. and sad. did i mention i was killing people. the sun is mocking me. these clouds symbolize the storm in my heart. im so lonely. and also sad.

i dunno, it didnt unzip me. tho i like how the wine was spiked with that sweet 'joe as the sun' symbolism, love that for us

its also kind of ironically Another TTT Story dealing with 'nicky is killing a bunch of people and hes having a crisis over it'. ive said before, im not a big fan of nicky angst personally + the fact that there isnt much here to actually learn abt nicky + the fact i wasnt huge for nicky's Poetic Liberties + the lack of a solo joe to match this solo nicky kind of made me 'eh' abt it. it wasnt poorly written or anything! i just wasnt ham for it

like with the other ones (moon landing one for instance) even when there was stuff i wasnt huge for, there was other stuff i liked, like most of us didnt care for the depiction of joe and nicky's argument in that story, but the stuff with andy and joe arguing about the moon was cute, and the stuff with nicky and Booker's Relationship Advice was cute. but for this one it was mostly just the letter. and i wasnt huge for the letter, haha
