It's always so funny how people characterize Peter Parker as someone who begins his superhero career bright eyed and grows into someone more cynical and pessimistic along the years when in reality it's the opposite and at 15 he held scorn for just about everyone in his life save for his Aunt May and at 25 makes unrealistic vows about no one dying under any circumstances when he's around

several times a day i will come across a post that i would otherwise agree with about a Thing Being Bad but it is unfortunately like inexplicably linked to a reactionary societal decay narrative for like no reason whatsoever

I do think the thing of like us as trans people need to take into consideration like everyones right to bodily autonomy including the right to choose to undergo certain surgeries or like Hormone Treatments and such even when "medically unnecessary" is really important Im glad we're all talking about that more honestly. Theres like a Stigma around surgery that really comes through in regards to trans stuff when people start on the whole like "why would you want to just GET RID OF a PART OF YOUR BODY?" type shit in regards to hysterectomys/masectomys/vaginoplastys and I think it effects everyone. Like people really do take a moralistic view on wanting to do something to your own body without the excuse of it being a life or death scenario

the "irreversible damage" book cover is still perhaps the most succinct demonstration of how the laserfocus the detranxiety movement has on muh poor little girls is fundamentally an outgrowth of the general terror about declining (white) birth rates and white woman fertility as a dwindling resource. like, what's actually wrong with the kitschy smiling little girl in that picture? she looks pretty content for someone "mutilated." is she missing her head, brain, heart, limbs or what? anything that would obstruct her in living out her 8 decades on this earth? hell no, it's much worse than that. it's something that actually matters. she's missing her ability to produce White Babies. you're telling me we've spent decades working to overturn roe or at least make it as difficult as possible and now that we succeeded they've found a way to weasel out of being a reproductive resource anyway? that just won't do.
