Apurva Asrani Is an award winning filmmaker living in Goa, India. Among his best known works are the human rights drama Aligarh (2016), and the courtroom drama Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors (2020),
Asrani came out via Twitter. He described his struggles being gay in a homophobic society. He and his partner Siddhant had to pretend they were cousins for years to live in the same apartment, otherwise if the truth were known they could have been evicted. They were asked to not let their neighbours know that they were a gay couple.
In 2018, when the five-judge Constitutional bench (equivalent to the US Supreme Court) struct down anti-homosexual laws and made same-sex relations between consenting adults legal, Asrani described the impact.
“I feel vindicated today. I have lived openly as a gay man for the last few years, and while I have found much support, I have also been questioned, ridiculed and threatened for being myself. Today’s judgment makes me proud.”
He said he cried when he read Justice Indu Malhotra statement:
“History owes and apology to LGBT persons for ostracisation and discrimination.”
Unfortunately, Asrani’s relationship with Siddhant was a victim of Covid19. Due to the pressures of self-isolation and social distancing, in April 2021, Asrani announced that he and Siddhant had separated. He explain that their relationship had been "important and valuable”. He also apologized to his fans for the “disappointment" the news might cause.

Btw, my "low ability" Y9s can tell you that stopping isolation for those who test positive for covid is a stupid idea.
But I guess they don't benefit financially from pretending covid is over.
Most of them have had covid, and don't want to catch it again.

Took another covid test because I wanted to know if I could go outside tomorrow and it’s still positive.
I know technically people can go out when positive but I don’t think it’d be right of me to. So I guess I’m just stuck here again.

🤗🐮🐄 Cozy cows catching the first sunlight. 🖖😊 Bonus text: Would you like to wake up to this view too? Granted, it is neither a turquoise-blue ocean with a white sandy shore nor a majestic mountainscape in the alps. No exotic rainforest or savannah safari tour. No sunrise over the New York City skyline and no sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge. But it is enough. It is down-to-earth, rural, and real. To me, it is home, which gives it an additional flair, connected with memories and emotions. There are so many ways to look at this. For example psychologically, or from an economical or ecological standpoint, etc. Do we always need more, better, bigger? When is it enough? Shouldn't we be content and happy with what we have, and be grateful for it? Maybe more people are currently realizing that during times like these, where public life and travel are restricted. (repost from December 2020)

Self-Isolation in Modern Workplaces
Tumblr media
Self-isolation in a workplace is a proactive measure aimed at preventing the spread of contagious illnesses and safeguarding the health and well-being of individuals.
In response to public health concerns such as the COVID-19 pandemic, workplaces have implemented self-isolation protocols to address instances where individuals may have been exposed to infectious diseases or exhibit symptoms of illness. This practice involves isolating affected individuals in designated areas within the workplace, such as enclosed offices, meeting rooms, or designated self-isolation booths and pods, to minimize the risk of transmission to others.
In any way, isolating symptomatic or potentially contagious individuals, organizations effectively contain the spread of illness and protect the broader workforce from exposure.
However, self-isolation protocols actually involve measures such as remote work arrangements, increased sanitation procedures and clear communication for ensuring affected individuals receive necessary support while adhering to health guidelines.
Additionally, self-isolation in workplaces emphasizes the importance of prioritizing active occupants health and safety. in this case, fostering a culture of responsibility and resilience in challenging times.
Remember, before investing in either acoustic office booths or pods is better to take a feasibility study whether they're the best solution. Such feasibility analysis may cover their cost and ROI in order to benefit from them without negatively affecting the company's performance

I am truly tired of myself. I have been in the same spot for so many years. I have lived the majority of my teenage years and the first years of my adulthood terribly depressed. I was always on edge like the world would end the second I took an easy breath. I have realized that I have chronophobia. Chronophobia is defined as the fear of time or the passage of time. I keep acting like there are…

this is no end nor beginning I climb into the clock and hairs of time still wend from its beating wings         until purpose finds me this is just another way to kill time (originally published in Ginosko Literary Journal, Fall 2021)

Keeping your head above water
Keeping your head above water
How I wish I could tell myself, the self from a month or two ago, that today would be a better day. How I wish I could remind myself that there are days like today filled with infinitely more joy than suffering, if only we allow it space to enter. Somewhere in between pain and misery there’s this sliver, a chance opening, to pick apart the odds and choose a way out of it. And for a refreshing…

ASAN is disappointed to see the shortening of isolation guidelines that we condemned last month now officially released. We must hold the federal government accountable for protecting the public from the ongoing risk of COVID-19.
