Welcome To The Harringrove Café! ☕️

What the hell is this?

I’m so glad you asked! Steve and Billy have opened up their own café with themed treats that you can anonymously send to friends on Tumblr, and they will deliver them every Saturday!

It’s a positivity project to make people smile and let them know you’re thinking of them. Sometimes an ask isn’t enough (or you just don’t have the right words to say) and going the extra mile for someone can truly make their day!

Against Billy's wishes, Steve has declared that all menu items are FREE! (Thanks, Steve~)

How do I send a treat?

Easy! 1. Check out the menu and decide what you want to send to a friend. 2. Fill out the order form 3. Your treat will be delivered by the café on the upcoming Saturday.

If you’d like to send a special delivery (for a birthday, congratulations, etc) use the special delivery form, or send an ask and it will be delivered on the day you request.

Please keep an eye on our pinned post for other events and exciting things.

You can also send asks with café/coffee shop headcanons and customer service related questions for Steve or Billy (or mod), because that’s fun. If anything that happens in the café inspires you, you can draw artwork or send fics.

Disclaimers:

There is currently 1 mod. I am not looking for a 2nd mod. However, my DMs are always open if you'd like to collaborate and create a menu for the month. It does not have to be Harringrove themed since I do feature other characters here.

This café is inclusive to everyone who likes/respects Billy, Harringrove and the fandom. You do not have to be an active member of the fandom to send or receive treats. You can even order treats for yourself.

Asks will not usually be answered once deliveries begin on Saturdays. They will either be answered before, or afterward, or if mod takes a short break between deliveries.

All hate mail (yes, even the café receives hate mail) will be discarded and disregarded, so you don't have to worry about seeing any negativity here ever.

The menu will change based on the season or special event/holiday, so all treats are here for a limited time, between 2 weeks to a month.

Treats will only be delivered on Saturdays, with the exception of special delivery treats.

If someone blocks the café, I will be unable to deliver their treats (sorry, but sometimes it happens!)

If someone does any harm to the café, the mod, or any of the creators I collaborate with, they will be blocked. (this is a very rare occurrence, but it also happens as I ensure that this is a safe space for everyone involved.)

This question is for Tom. I may have missed discussions of whether you are in 24/7/365 chastity so thank you for considering my questions. Does the cage interfere with sports or workout activities? For instance, could you play golf or ride a bike? Can you go to a health club to exercise? Does your Goddess ever let you out of the cage to engage in activities or health exams where a cage might be a problem? Also, do involuntary nocturnal erections cause a problem? Thanks.

🔒 Tom here. I have answered this before, but the limitations of Tumblr mean I can't set up a decent way to search for such things. That and this blog was "flagged" a few months back as being "mature", so the Tumblr search function is severely hobbled.

Yes, since 2018, I have been locked 24/7/365. @mrs--edge does not unlock me for any sexual reason. I am unlocked for medical visits, for travel (I know it's legal, but we don't want the aggro), and for occasional hygiene checks. Also, if she thinks I'm about to do something particularly dangerous, like cleaning snow off the roof. That is less often now because she forgets that I'm caged.

I don't do sports, but I'm active outdoors. Golf is no problem (except for my left hook 😒), I lift weights (I have a squat cage and free weights in my basement), and in warmer weather I take long walks and short hikes in the local hills.

The only iffy spot is cycling. I have several road bikes: one of them a classic 1980s Cannondale which I restored and slightly modernized. It has a hard Italian leather saddle, and I have to remove the cage when I take it out.

I also have a classic 1980s steel Japanese bike. That one has been totally rebuilt and modernized, and has a split saddle. I take it when some of my friends go on short 10 mile rides on the local bike trail (stopping at the brew pubs along the way). The split saddle allows me to ride caged, and my friends are barely doing 10 mph.

However, when I'm in season, my wife allows me to unlock, don my lycra gear, and take my serious road bike out on the New England back roads. These are generally 20 to 50 mile haunts and there is no concern that I'm going to duck into the woods for a quick wank. When I get home, I hop into the shower, and replace the cage.

I have been locked for a good part of the past twenty five years. The 2 am woodies rarely wake me up anymore, and when I'm aware of them, it's more of a comforting sexual pressure.

The Stardust Conspiracy

(Part 4)

Summary: The truth finally comes out about Stardust

(This story will make more sense if you read the first 3 parts ^_^)

“Is this it?” Hunter asks, holding up a metal latch.

Echo barely glances at it before resuming his search through his own crate of miscellaneous parts. “No.”

Hunter drops the latch back into the crate with a heavy clang. “What did Tech say he needed these parts for?”

“He didn’t say specifically. Just that it was for a critical upgrade.”

“Well, it’s turning into a critical headache,” Hunter grumbles, halfheartedly rummaging. They’d been at this for hours, scouring the market for a list of parts Tech had given them. The list maker himself had conveniently needed to make some repairs to the main console and enlisted Omega’s help, leaving Echo, Hunter, and Wrecker to do the supply run. Wrecker had disappeared about half an hour ago, claiming a vital errand but Hunter knew his brother was circling back to the vendor selling sweets they had passed earlier in the day.

Echo holds up a part. “This is what we’re looking for. I thought you said you checked in here.”

“That’s not at all what you described.”

“It’s exactly what I described!”

Hunter rolls his eyes, conceding the argument. “Well, at least we found it. Now we can find Wrecker and get back to the ship.”

After haggling over the price with the shopkeeper, Hunter comms Wrecker to get his location. Based on the hem and hawing, he knows that the giant clone probably spent more credits on whatever snack food he’d discovered than they probably paid for all of Tech’s random parts.

“I’ll meet ya back at the ship,” Wrecker decides, booming voice tinny through the comm. He signs out quickly.

“I wonder how much his little errand is gonna set us back,” Echo muses as they pick their way through the crowded sidewalks.

Hunter huffs, sounding vaguely amused. “We can afford to let the kids have their fun once in a while.”

Omega watches Tech work on the Marauder’s main console, adjusting a lever that has been sticking. He is hoping to have the repair done before their brothers get back from their supply run in town. While Omega doesn’t want to distract him, she gauges by his unhurried movements, that the task is nearly completed. He is simply taking his time.

Leaning forward, Omega poses the question that has been forming all afternoon. “You know, don’t you?”

Tech doesn’t even look away from his project. “I know many things. You’ll have to be more specific.”

Omega rolls her eyes and grins. “About Stardust,” she clarifies.

This earns Tech’s full attention, and Omega catches the mischievous glint in his eye as he turns to meet her gaze. “Ah. About the criceto housed next to the nav computer. Yes. I am aware of her presence.”

“Have you known all along?” Omega asks.

Tech puts his tools aside, arranging them by size, as a rare and wry smile appears. “Not all along. But since late the first night, yes. She and I are well acquainted.”

“You also found her the day she escaped,” Omega says.

Tech chuckles. “Yes, I did. What gave me away? Besides the fact that a creature of her size would find it nearly impossible to return to her enclosure given its location.”

“When I was cleaning her cage, I found more seeds than I’ve ever given her,” Omega says. She giggles. “You spoil her, Tech!”

Tech scoffs, but the accusation sticks. “I retrieved her, didn’t I? She was just being fairly compensated for her cooperation.”

Omega smiles widely. “I knew you’d love her!”

“I am fond of her,” Tech allows, demurring the use of the word love. “She has proven to be an engaging companion during late watch shifts. I have been training her to sit on my shoulder. She seems to be enraptured by the glow of hyperspace.”

“You can train her?” Omega is in absolute awe.

“Of course,” Tech says, “I have been researching the behaviors and habits of cricetos. They are incredibly intelligent. They’ve even been known to complete complex obstacle courses with the proper incentives.”

Omega gasps. “Can we build Stardust an obstacle course?”

Tech is practically glowing in the brilliance of his sister’s enthusiasm. “Absolutely. I’ve already drawn up a few plans if you’d like to look over them. I’d value your input.” He brandishes a data pad, taps through some files, then hands it over to Omega.

She is pouring over the first schematic when realization strikes. “If you’ve known about Stardust all this time, why wouldn't you tell us? Hunter, Echo and Wrecker think you haven’t noticed her yet.”

“I’m conducting an experiment,” Tech replies easily. “How long before they realize there is no keeping stowaways on my ship without my knowledge…it has proven to be an amusing study.”

“What if they never figure it out?” Omega asks.

Tech turns back to his project. “Oh, I’m sure they will figure it out soon enough.”

<<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>>

Omega smells something wonderfully sweet alongside the sound of Wrecker bounding up the ramp. “I’m home!” he bellows, “And I brought a surprise!”

Omega looks to Tech to make sure he doesn’t need any more help, and he tips his head slightly to indicate that she’s free to go. She runs out into the main area to meet her biggest brother. Wrecker is holding a box overflowing with pastries. They are warm and fresh and beautiful, curls of steam floating off of them.

Omega bounces on her toes. “I can’t believe Hunter and Echo let you get all that!” she says excitedly, eyeing a specific baked good dripping in icing.

Wrecker makes a face. “They might not know about it yet. It was kind of a surprise for all of you.”

“You forget they know you, Wrecker,” Tech says, coming in to replace the tool kit to its shelf. “The moment you disappeared from their sight, they knew you were going to get a treat of some kind.”

“That’s not true!” Wrecker balks while Omega laughs.

As if summoned, Hunter and Echo appear, Hunter holding the crate of supplies on his shoulder. “At least tell me you got something that’s actually good this time,” Hunter says, dropping the box by the door.

“Mantel Mix is good!” Wrecker argues, “But this is even better!”

“Well, put them away in the warmer for now,” Echo says, “Healthy food first.”

“Aw,” Wrecker and Omega protest in unison.

“None of that,” Hunter says. “Echo’s right. Late meal first.”

While Wrecker and Omega continue to wheedle with Hunter, Tech approaches the box of supplies with a critical eye. “You found everything on my list?” he asks Echo.

“Took us most of the day,” Echo says, waving his scomp at the offending items, “but yes, we found everything on your list.”

Tech brightens. “Excellent! I will be able to start on that critical upgrade later tonight.”

“What exactly is this upgrade again?” Echo asks.

“Oh, I didn’t tell you?” Tech looks vaguely surprised, although Echo gets the impression it is not genuine.

The cyborg frowns. “No. You didn’t.”

“Must’ve slipped my mind,” Tech says elusively, but he doesn’t elaborate. Instead, he turns to intervene in the argument that Hunter is on the verge of losing.

What are you up to? Echo wonders.

Late meal is a compromise of nutritional rations and incredibly unhealthy pastries, much to Wrecker and Omega’s delight. Tech had unexpectedly changed sides during the debate, saying that if Wrecker had already spent all those credits on fresh pastries, they might as well consume them while they were at optimal temperature. He had been awarded a huge smile and brief hug from Omega for his contribution to the cause. Hunter didn’t miss the trace of an indulgent grin on Tech’s face as he gave their little sister a single pat on top of her feathery blond head in response.

Hunter knows he really should just come clean about the criceto. Tech might resist the idea for a while, but he’d come around when he saw how good having a pet is for Omega. They’d had Stardust for nearly a standard month now...Hunter isn’t sure how he is going to explain that.

Late meal finishes, and Hunter begins to work on how he is going to break the news to Tech. He has come up with a few subtle openers when Tech enters the main room with the crate of supplies they’d bought that day. He starts laying the pieces out on the table, muttering to himself as he inspects each one.

“Yes,” he says out loud after everything is in whatever order he has deemed useful, “these will do quite nicely. Hunter, I wonder if you’d be so kind as to retrieve Stardust’s cage for me?”

The silence that follows the offhanded request is so dense, even Hunter’s vibroknife couldn’t cut through it.

Tech tilts his head, looking puzzled. “Is something wrong?” he asks Hunter when the silence has stretched to a painfully awkward length.

Hunter isn’t sure when his mouth dropped open, but he snaps it shut, teeth audibly clacking together. “The parts...” Hunter begins, pauses, restarts, “You said you needed parts for a critical upgrade?”

Tech nods slowly, as though he is dealing with a particularly stupid life form. “I believe altering Stardust’s cage so that she is not escaping into the interior of the ship at odd hours would be considered a critical upgrade.”

“Kriff, Tech!” Echo bursts out, “How long have you known?”

Tech gives his cyborg brother a wounded look, but there is a glimmer of mirth behind the tinted glass of his goggles. “I understand that I am the one with enhanced cerebral processing, but did any of you actually think I wouldn’t notice a criceto in a cage next to the nav computer on my ship?”

Omega is the first one to laugh outright, her melodic giggling breaking through the building tension. Wrecker and Echo immediately follow her example, laughter explosive.

“So, wait,” Hunter says, “You’ve known since...”

Tech rolls his eyes. “I’ve known since the very first night, Hunter.”

Hunter feels the warmth of embarrassment burn across his face.

Tech gives him a lopsided grin, obviously relishing the situation. “I also know that our little friend was able to evade your enhancement after her escape, which is why I employed my own tactics and found her myself.”

“You found her?” Echo gasps between hysterics.

“Of course, I found her,” Tech says, “Did you really think a creature of her size could climb back into her cage of her own power?”

Hunter rubs a hand down his face. “I’m an idiot.”

“You’re all idiots,” Tech corrects him wryly, “The exception being Omega who figured out I’d known about Stardust for an extensive period of time.”

“Tech’s even trained Stardust to sit on his shoulder, and we are going to build her an obstacle course!” Omega pipes up excitedly.

While Omega continues to explain the specifics of the theorized obstacle course in great detail, Hunter meets Tech’s eye. His brother offers him a subtle grin and a wink. Hunter shakes his head and smiles. He should’ve known Tech would love having a little creature to study in the comforts of their wayfaring home.

<<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>>

Stardust is perched in the hollow of Tech’s neck and shoulder, contentedly nibbling at seeds Tech offers her when Hunter enters the cockpit. Hunter drops into the copilot’s seat with a smile. “Looks like you’re Stardust’s best friend.”

Tech is looking at his data pad. “Bribery is an excellent resource when it comes to earning the affection of animals.”

“So, you spoil her,” Hunter deadpans.

Tech chuckles. “Perhaps, but I doubt you have tried to resist her request for more seeds when she puts out her paws. She can be very persuasive.”

“Is that your way of saying she’s cute?”

“If that is how you interpret it, I wouldn’t disagree,” Tech says. He sets aside his data pad and turns to face Hunter fully. “Have you had much opportunity to interact with the creature?”

Hunter shakes his head.

Tech promptly puts his hand up to Stardust, and the criceto climbs into his hand. Tech offers the fluff ball to Hunter. “Here, I think you will better understand my plight if you have first-hand experience.”

Hunter hesitates a moment but puts out his hand. Stardust sniffs at him skeptically. Tech drops several seeds into Hunter’s palm. Stardust perks up immediately, whiskers twitching and feet carefully climbing out of Tech’s hand and into Hunter’s.

“Omega was right. I can barely even feel her in my hand,” Hunter marvels under his breath.

“She only weighs approximately one hundred grams,” Tech informs him.

Stardust is busily tucking the seeds into her cheek pouches, and once they are gone, she gazes up at Hunter expectantly, paws reaching, minuscule fingers splayed.

Tech was right. How can Hunter possibly say no to that?

155. Ahem, hush you. I started writing 18 months ago. When I get a new hobby, I REALLY lean into it.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

481,485. Yup, almost half a million. Again, shhhh.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Only Bridgerton. Look, I have my hyperfixations, ok?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes. Always. It's just wonderful to get feedback. I read and respond to every single comment. They mean the world to me, truly.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably No Good Advice. I ended up writing Moments multi-chapter as I (and a friend) couldn't bear the idea they didn't end up together lolol.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of them, tbh. I can't write an unhappy ending. Maybe the mushiest is Second Son, Moments, or It Had To Be You.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Luckily not much yet. I did get one hate anon early on. It wasn't about a specific fic, though. It said they didn't know why I had a 'please don't steal my work' disclaimer (the standard one that most writers here use) cos I was delusional that my work was worth stealing. 🤷‍♀️

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, it's my trademark. It's rare when I don't write smut. 😬 I'm not sure what is meant by kind of smut. I've written it all, from vanilla romantic sex to kink threesomes with harnesses and double penetration lol. I haven't had a request yet that I've turned down due to sexual content.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not yet. The closest I've gotten is It Had To Be You, which is based on When Harry Met Sally.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, sadly, it has happened quite a few times now. I was so fed up with filing copyright takedown notices that I set up a Wattpad account to try to counter it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I've been offered but have turned it down. I have no way to check that any translation would get across the nuance I aim for. So I know that may be anglo-centric, but its how I feel for now.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet, but I am always threatening to lolol.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Hmm, tough one. I do love Kanthony tbh.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Benedict as a virgin. I just urghhh.... it's been a WIP for 17 months now. I just dunno why I won't finish it; I just get the feeling I won't.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I have no bloody idea. I'd prefer readers answer that tbh lol. My inclination is to say I don't have one, except perhaps a willingness to describe sex in ridiculous levels of detail? Is that a strength?

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

World building. I will do anything to shortcut it. I'll find an economical way to describe a situation e.g. she's a widow; they're old friends. Got it? Good! Let's get down to business.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done a smidgeon of French as I studied it for ten years. But I doubt I'd do another language tbh.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Only Bridgerton so far.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Bloody hell, I have no fucking idea. It literally changes depending on my mood. But I don't really care for my own writing that much, all I see is flaws lol. I guess the universe I would most like to write more for one day is Mrs Bridgerton and its sequel. Does that count?

Yes, I try to, though it can take me a long time to do so ^^;;

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Hum... difficult question. I don't usually write angst. There's a Van Helsing OS but I haven't posted it on AO3 yet. I do love to write certain characters turned as vampire against their will, a lot, but I can't say which fic about that trope is the angstiest... Maybe My Blood in Offering, a Krolfred OS, or even La bête humaine (Harry Potter, a Beast of Gévaudan AU, kinda). I can't say for sure...

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

LOL, most of my fics are happy fics so it will be hard to choose which one I consider to have the happiest ending. Maybe Auld Lang Syne or Sleeping Arthur, two Kaamelott OS with Arthur and Perceval.

7. Do you write crossovers?

Rarely, but it happened. I once wrote a Makai Ouji/Black Butler crossover Nevermore, and I would like to try writing for this crossover again. I also wrote a Harry Potter/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory crossover where Willy Wonka was a wizard (Le Procès de Willy Wonka), I had fun writing it!

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

No and I hope it won't happen in the future.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I did (two Krolfred OS: Behind closed doors and L'abîme des songes), not very ambitious since I'm not used writing smut but it was an interesting challenge. I also have two Grindeldore OS (À fleur de peau and Nos rencontres éphémères) but the sexual content is really non-graphic.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! Le Soleil Levant (Francis&Napoléon, Hetalia) has been translated into Polish; also two Tanz OS (Behind closed doors and My Blood in Offering) translated in Russian.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No and I'm not interested in doing it.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Aaah it's a difficult choice. How can you expect me to choose?

Though, if I see the amount of works on my AO3, I've written for Grindeldore (Gellert Grindelwald/Albus Dumbledore) the most.

Most of my fics are mostly about platonic pairs than romantic ones.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Uuh... Maybe L'Alouette (a FrUK OS) or L'ennemi de mon ennemi (a Van Helsing multichapter fic)

15. What are your writing strengths?

Good question. I love getting into the characters's head, writing their thoughts and feelings, as well as writing platonic pairs, but I don't know if it's a strength of mine.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

You mean adding words or sentences in another language when I'm reading fics in my own language or in English? Well... I don't mind if it's a couple of words in a sentence (and if the author adds the translation, though I found it annoying to have to go in the author's notes, at the end of the fic, to go check the translation)

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter.

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

No fandom comes to my mind, but I would love to write Alfred/Sarah (Tanz der Vampire), though Krolfred is my OTP, I have a lot of fondness for this ship and I would like to try writing about them. Same thing, I would like to write a Arthur/Francis/Ludwig fanfic (Hetalia) one day. I also wish to write about César/Astérix one day and not just them as a platonic pair

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Ouch hard to decide again. I'm still proud of La Marque as well as Sleeping Arthur regarding my Kaamelott fics. Regarding Tanz, I really love A New Perspective and Die Fledermaus. For Makai Ouji, I still love Innocence and Curiosity, though The Witching Hour is very self-indulgent hehe. I'm also fond of some fics from Gauloiseries (Astérix); but I really can't choose, between these fics, which one is my absolute favourite.

i love that the entire kitchen is aware Something's going on but they have no clue What or just how deep in it max and george are. charles and pierre definitely debrief after a long week and gossip and i think that's so funny. charles after two shots like. who's going to bring up the elephant (george and max are definitely fucking) in the room first and once they start, they can't stop. i also love that landoscar take it 10x more serious than max and george... them both being paranoid about slipping up, always checking over their shoulders, maybe even referring to george and max in code names Just To Be Safe. whole time george and max are so public and open about it, you'd think they'd already told the kitchen.

THIS IS GOOD FUCKING FOOD. the news that russell is there... because nobody calls him george... like. everyone stops momentarily. the pause is like. .2 seconds but Everyone notices. charles and pierre eye each other, alex and max have a stare down (alex's eye twitches) and oscar's about to pass out (bless his soul). when max silently clocks out for his break, nobody knows what to do. seriously? the article, max? when max drops them the compliment, lets charles take over and run the kitchen AND bumps oscar into the sous position, everyone's Sure Max is about to get excommunicated from the food-world for fighting a critic. only, when pierre steals a glance at the table (the best one in the house, of course), max has this look - one he's never seen before, and george is wearing it too. they're both absolutely smitten with each other.

alex still calling max chef despite max being on break is fucking comedy and beautiful and in this essay i will- also im so glad we both agree pierre and alex are waiters. like. to add, i think lewis needs to work at the same firm as george <3

charles and pierre sharing a cigarette as they walk through paris on a chilly friday night after closing the restaurant just gossiping because What The Fuck? how could max not tell either of us? but it's the best piece of gossip that's circled through the kitchen in literal months so they're rinsing it to filth. ILL GO CRAZY. max is usually so good at hiding what he's thinking. that's what his father trained him to do. a good chef Never lets anyone know what he's really thinking. but max blushes the meanest red and feels like a victorian woman seeing an elbow for the first time when george looks at him *that way* or touches him for the briefest of moments. like. he's out of breath and feels slightly manic. he's so insane i love him.

YES YES YES. YES. YES. YES. and max experiments with food all the time because they're a high-end restaurant in fucking paris. they cycle through menus regularly, and george is Always the first to try or see max's little creations. think it would be funny if max just Sends pictures of the food to george. doesn't even attach a message with it like *hey what do you think?* no it's just the food. it's okay though because george sends him back a 3 paragraph essay and then has Even More Thoughts when he's able to try it later. also the menu names??? don't make me fucking crazy. princesse could definitely be a dessert of some kind, they name the first dish max ever cooked at george's flat champs elysees and of course pierre and charles are on the same page. this Has to relate to george somehow.

max is literally in charge of oscar and i don't make the rules. like. max has kitten adopted him you are so right my angel. it's very rare that george drops anything other than food reviews, so the article about oscar takes everyone in the kitchen by surprise. like. oscar definitely cries about it after he's seen it because He Knows and lando's just so happy oscar's happy :) oh my god what if what if what if just for shits and giggles george writes an article about the restaurant after max's third michelin star and he's just in the kitchen overseeing max work and he's so incredibly fond. lando's there too snapping away and max has to be like *aren't you supposed to be taking pictures of the entire kitchen?* and lando doesn't even feel bad because he has. like. 30 really good shots of oscar working on this pesto.

max is just. so incredibly happy after his third star. what if he opens another restaurant in marseille after the third star :) i'll leave us off on that

Thank you so much for everything. Yes, real life gets hectic and unfortunately, it will be more hectic for me for a while soon. ;-; Hope everything is going fine for you now. As for the chocomint post, hmm, I don't remember the exact chapter number (probably 60/61/62-ish?) but it had Lilie and Kaito in it and because I had never picked up Clear Card as I wanted to binge read/watch it, I was left very confused as to who these two were once I began coming across them in Tumblr. The reason I even came back into the CCS tags because I am actually taking a hiatus from Boruto (yeah, I will confess that I am one of the rare few who went straight from Naruto to Boruto and actually enjoys its sequel). Boruto right now is in a "let's torture the protagonist" phase ala Tsubasa style and it's actually becoming painful to read (actually good writing, it makes you squirm and feel pained for Boruto, he is shaping up to be one of my most favourite shonen protagonists). I am thinking of keeping my hands off it for a few months for binging purposes and thought why not check out my first preteen/nearly teen OTP. And yeah, I come back to find that it is nearly in its arc end. And then I search tags and of course, I find very confusing and disconnected things, especially with random chocomint references, and people being very critical about a lot of things. I totally understand the valid criticisms now that I have caught up but I admit that I did enjoy a lot of things in Clear Card as well and I am looking forward to watching season 2 on weekly basis just because of this. I wonder when that is going to be aired because I can't find any info regarding it beyond its production announcement.

And now I can proceed to reply to this ask of 20 days ago 💦 I'm sorry, but I reaaaaaaally wasn't in the mood to write anything, back then.

Thank you for explaining how you reconnected with the CCS franchise and how you found my blog! 😆 AH yes, our main chocomint sponsor Lilie 😂😂😂😂it makes me laugh so much everytime I think about it...

Now that the manga is ending, I can start working again on the long list of posts addressing many topics, and one of those (I think it'll actually be my next one in line, after the one I did of the literary references) will precisely be not only about the significance of chocomint inside the story, but actually all the food and all the handmade stuff. Yes, they're there to bring a very special message and not only to waste time in the plot. 🙂

And yes, we're all waiting for more info about the sequel of the Clear Card anime, because ever since the announcement on April 1st they haven't said anything else. I expect we'll hear something along with the release of the next chapter, the final one!!

So, it's been a while since I've uptaded y'all on the whole gender thingy. As I've said on previous posts, really love the genderqueer term, vibing with the nonbinary one as well, and the following topic brings me into the confusion territory of "would agender be another term I'd be comfortable with?"

The topic at hand is: I want to try a binder on. Now I've commented on it with my therapist, and we'll go into the factors that make this whole binding thing complex very soon, but I have a kinda odd relationship with my body. More under the cut.

On another note, mote gender euphoria note, I've cut and died my hair similar to the cut on this post, like the 3rd/4th pic, and it gives me lots of joy :D

So for starters I feel I need to state that I've got a garbage memory, therefore I can't say much about how it was like when I was a kid and throughout puberty, but I do know it took me a while to click the whole "oh shit I should be wearing a bra" and by that I mean I'm pretty sure my dear friend (love you dear <3) had to tell me that. Also that I fucking hate wearing white shirts and more transparent ones, since puberty, makes me so uncomfortable.

Interestingly, I basically only use sports bra, and one actual bra, rarely ever white or transparent shirts. Now, this whole thing about wanting a binder started last Monday (not this week), and it's been hitting me like a truck.

Cause when I'm at home, the way I view my body is "a bag of meat, this is just skin, I don't care, let me wear my pj's all day." But when I'm outside I feel uncomfortable with certain things, like my belly (which I haven't told others due to my sister developing anorexia in 2020, which I obviously blame and fuck any of you that wants to be a little bitch, unless it is to tell me i need to add a tw for ed mention), how some clothes look on me, and as of last week I've come to the feeling of it not being just the belly that I would prefer if flatter, but that "this outfit would look better if my chest was flat."

I don't give a fuck about having boobs when it comes down to wearing pj's around the house, and I only get naked when I fucking shower (sex repulsed aroace over here + I don't sleep naked, not for me mate, to each their own). I feel like it's not that I want them titties chopped off (would love if there was an option taking it off and putting them back on when I felt like it option, like a bra but it'syour tits, sadly not a thing), more that I want the option of wearing a binder added to the list.

Now, as I've said before, on the second paragraph off this shitshow (so sorry for y'all that made it this far, but don't worry, I've almost lost the entire post cause tumblr decided to close itself, hurray), I've mentioned wanting to buy a binder to my therapist, but there's a lot we didn't get to talk about, and here is where the problem lies.

I've had scoliosis since I was a kid. I'm going to a doctor now, again, to check on it. I've only been to 2 appointments with him, have to go and do 10 pilates sessions before going back. He is my mom's doctor as well, and she goes to the appointments with me. Yes, I'm an adult, but I've got a garbage memory and he has failed to write the proper indications and shit to my mom before, which led to a headache when she had to go and do exercises with her back in mind. Aka, not only do I not know if this man is transphobic and/or if he thinks nonbinary isn't a thing, but I'm also only out to my sister, who doesn't know about the whole binder thing cause she's been going a little bit downhill as off lately, mentally speaking.

Do I think my parents will actually have a problem with my gender identity and wanting to try a binder out? No, not really. But I'm scared, and I have clinical anxiety, which makes it worse! I think it would be better to tell them when I know for sure, I would feel more confident that way and could help them learn more, but at the same time, if they knew about the whole gender identity thingy they would probably be a lot more welcoming to the comments I've dropped about wanting to try out androgynous clothing, as well as having female, male and unisex options, since they would know the why behind it.

The situation is a little bit complicated, and it's only adding to the stress I'm getting from college. It just encapsulates physical, emotional and mental factors as whole, all because of this fucking binder desire awakening. I'm already tired and stressed, I don't need more. On top of that, I'll only get to talk about it on my next therapy session. Yeah, it could be worse, but that thought isn't gonna help!

Tl;dr: Do any of you have tips on how to bind safely, especially with scoliosis being a pre-existing factor. Any tip and advice on this whole shitshow is welcome really, thanks for reading and sorry for your time.

If the convenience store was still open he’d run to the nearest store and surprise you with a birthday cake. But not just any cake it’d be a cake that was decorated by the one and only Kim Sunoo

Would prepare it so nicely and even have a lit up candle so you can wish on it.

Jungwon was actually super clueless he genuinely didn’t know what day it is but something about you seemed off and the way you ran to your room was quite odd to him so he went and followed you

Before he opened the door he already heard small whimpers from the corner of the bed, and that immediately triggered him and he was about to beat up anyone that made you feel sad 😠 little did he know it was him who made you feel that way

“Baby what’s wrong? Why are you crying”

He holds your chin and turns it to get a better look

wiping your tears with his thumb, you were being a dramatic his giggles make you feel a bit better even though you were mad at him for forgetting

“You forgot my birthday.” You said to him while crying

You can literally see the gears in his brain start to turn when his face went from 😄 -> 😳

“IM SO SORRY IM SO SORRY” hugs you so tight that you literally can’t breathe

Doesn’t know what to do to make you feel better, “I’m really sorry for forgetting your birthday, I don’t really know what got into me, please forgive me.”< cue the cutest kitty puppy eyes

He kept on rambling on abt how he was sorry and deserves your forgiveness you literally had to shut him up, he was sorry please forgive him >~<

You decided to play the silent game and just avoided him... so he tried to get you to talk to him but after a while it didn’t work so he sort of gave up and went to ask his hyungs what’s wrong with you.

“Niki,,, it’s y/n’s birthday omg did you forget??????” Jake said texting niki

and that’s when the lightbulb in his brain turned on

He rushed to the kitchen and back hugged you so tight and gave you so many cheekie kissies to try and make up for ‘forgetting’

But to his luck you were still mad at him

Soooo he came up with the idea of going to the convenience store really quick to get you a bunch of flowers and a nice cake to surprise you~

You ended up forgiving him because he was tickling you threatening you to forgive him

In Supersons we see a couple of kids that are implied to be Damian and Jon's children and the boy has laser eyes and can fly, so I asume he's not adopted. The girl, who calls Bruce grandpa, can also fly, btw. So it's canon (probably by accident) that Jon can have kids and he must have married one of Bruce's kids. If you haven't already, please listen to The Megas, they've got a similar concept to The Protomen (as in, they're a band based off the megaman games) with a very wonderful interpretation that I have spent literal hours dissecting and analyzing and making my own world and lore for, bouncing off of the foundation they put down (that's what my rp blog is, it's a Protoman based off The Megas) and I can and will talk your ear off about it!! it has music for mm2 and mm3 and teeeechnically mm1? that one doesn't have all the robot masters tho. it's a collab of Entertainment System and the Megas :0

Megas has other stuff as well, but when i talk about their megaman music I am talking about their albums Get Equipped (and by extent, Get Acoustic), and History Repeating: Red and Blue

so so much to get from there, honestly wonderful music, sometimes i just listen to Red and Blue straight through cuz!!!! story!!!!! characters!!!!! wonderful world building!!!!!

Megas really does a great job of capturing the feeling of how?? sad MegaMan the game is supposed to be. It's a child sent into war fighting for a people that,, don't care for his existence. it's brutal and SO wonderful and soooooo amazing and I'm beginning to sound like a broken record

if you haven't already, please check out the Megaman Megamix/Gigamix manga made by Hitoshi Ariga because THAT is awesome, then there's also archie comics Megaman and many many more interpretations to be found everywhere, but archie and ariga are the biggest ones (in terms of comics)

HOUSE PLANTS, UPDATE 7

HEY ACTUALLY I FINISHED THIS BOOK!

i don't want to get too sentimental [watch me proceed to get sentimental] but this book means a lot to me and i really could NOT have done it without the support of the wonderful folks on writeblr. the writing community is kind of the reason i even started this novel so it means a lot to me that i’ve met so many of y’all here. this is my first ever novel and i’m so glad i was able to make it so far! here are the final stats:

STARTED: april 17, 2020

FINISHED: january 28, 2021

the last month of writing this novel was so mixed. like before i hit the 70k mark i’d just been slogging through the novel, feeling uninspired and bored of the story. and then january hit and i was like. wait a minute. my deadline to finish it was the 31st of january. and so i basically startled myself into drafting again and then hit another wc milestone and that motivated me?? so much??? like i remember that drafting the penultimate chapter took me a pretty long time but it was so enjoyable because i was genuinely liking what i was writing and that hadn't been happening for the past few months. and then i wrote the entirety of the last chapter [it’s a vignette so it’s pretty short] for an hour until 1 am in my bed with the lights off and boom. it was such an experience. what makes it even more fun is that i’d drafted 75% of the book in my bed with the lights off at 1 am so this was such a nice full circle moment.

i’m also a little insane from all that lack of sleep but it’s okay we don't talk about that.

excerpts:

chapter twenty-one

this one’s a mix of the weirdest and most broad emotions. there’s a funeral in town, willow’s acting shadier than usual, lilith and juniper finally kiss, etc. etc. literally a rollercoaster. also it’s important that you guys know they kissed in a graveyard. nothing’s more romantic than that amirite.

Residual— that’s how we all felt. Just shells that wash away right before they touch land. We lingered like sleep at dawn, like medicine rimming the lip of cough syrup bottles, like fingerprints on fresh glass. There wasn't a permanence in the way we persisted, because eventually, one leaves their nest. They untether from the source in pursuit of the world. How would a dead girl do that? She won’t reside on the fringes of life like a bad dream.

god this prose is so depressing. even i’m getting sad over it and i’m literally an emotionless husk of a person. hey but the description slaps so enjoy.

also if you’ve noticed i’ve been sharing excerpts less and less in the updates despite the chapters being longer on length [these chapters average at like. 5k words] and that’s because i’m finding it harder to share stuff that doesn’t need context / isn't spoilery.

chapter twenty-two

ah yes the angstiest chapter, probably. something happens to willow that lilith blames herself for and this kicks off the final cluster of events that lead to the climax. i love this chapter because lilith gets angry [but at the wrong person aka herself] and we get to see this side of her she always tries to hide!! another thing that happens is that her garden withers so that’s a fun trip

My garden could have been a fallen kingdom. The ferns were rotting from under the flap, their spores gone. Gardenia blooms had split with their petals discarded like an evening gown all around the pots. The mint had binary fissioned and lay in shreds, the jasmine wilted and spread. All of them like war dolls, casualties of my ignorance, beyond saving.

chapter twenty-three

this chapter. exists i guess. ISDNJSDUH i sound so disillusioned but essentially this chapter was supposed to end on a the ✨big reveal✨ that the book has been leading up to but then something. happened. and i had to move that into the next chapter and so nothing actually happens in this one! like it’s all important things and we’re setting up tension but overall it’s the least eventful of the final story arc.

We stepped together into our house; it had been abandoned for a day but was the exact same. Dust hadn't suddenly piled up in the threshold, sticking to our soles. The air hadn't musted over in the house’s grieving for its sole occupants. The bathtub was still filled. The water skimmed the floor, and I’d decided. I’d stay with you for the whole week, the fortnight, the month, the year. I’d stay inside with you, because me leaving the house, me choosing to spend any second of my life without caring for you, was a mistake. I’d always seen you as fragile, quiet like moth wings and just as delicate. Maybe I’d needed to feel I was protector just as much as I thought you needed me.

i really like this excerpt because it’s very simple and light in terms of prose but also the implications and that purposeful telling at the end really stick with me. exposing lilith since 2k20.

As morning rose the next day, like a curtain lifting, the sun picked itself up from the horizon, shattering cloudlines in a bright, orange glow. The skies got clearer by the hour as summer sauntered in again. Already the habits of my grounding were kicking in; my circadian rhythm bounded to my outside, too, as I instinctively scheduled and compartmentalized my daily life. First, wake up, check on you. Finish chores while making sure you’re alright. School, eaten with worry, but you're capable and you’ll call if you need help. Home, count your pulse as you inevitably slumped in plush sleep— at the coffee table, at the bathtub, in Aunt Hailey’s chair (rare), in your bedroom (rarer). You’d wake for dinner and read until the lights begin to dim and your eyesight tripped. You’d doze off for the rest of the night. Your internal clock was more functional, more efficient, than mine.

obligatory rhythmic everyday life excerpt that's reminiscent of 2020.

chapter twenty-four

THE PENULTIMATE CHAPTER! THE LONGEST CHAPTER!! THE ONE WHERE SHIT GOES DOWN!!! [can you tell it’s my fave chapter]

this took me two whole weeks to draft [it’s around 7.2k words] but it was so enjoyable the whole time!! there’s something so satisfying about making the quiet character, the one who never express anger, finally snap. so satisfying. lilith is actually pretty feral in this and we all stan. it also has a lot of simpler yet more sharp prose? if you know me you know that repetition is literally my favourite device ever. i overuse repetition it’s actually insane. and this one has a lot of that, but in a way that isn't annoying, and i really enjoyed writing it!!

I’d never been in your bathtub before. You haunted the room and it was always yours; I didn’t consider running the tap for myself. Maybe your going out prompted me this time. The water was so high it sloshed over the lip of the tub. The floor was slick like eels’ skin. My skin was blue with cold; the chill gummed my cheeks and ears and I shivered. My reflection stared at me in hatred, the features warped and pulled like taffy. I half-floated, a ghost in liminal space, and the walls were choked with water lines and flower patterns. With my body invaded by alien frost, with the ceiling low and cruel and ready to crush, I cowered. How did you do this every day? Did the clothes make the difference?

after this it’s a lot of incredibly spoilery stuff!! like the prose slaps but it’s too many spoilers to share. but have another description of the heaviness of midnight because i’m obsessed with that aesthetic

The lock clicked behind me. Silence descended like birdsong and I was paralysed, stuck at the two half-stairs that led to the outer path, stuck at the threshold of no return. My body shook. All around me was nighttime, gooey and heavy. I was unfurling, like a rose, step after step, pushing past the gate and onto the road. The wind was so cold it frosted my tears.

btw the chapter does not end on lilith crying she kind of has a girlboss moment and snaps massively [i mean after all she’s been through she deserves it] and then the main story aka the fictive past ends.

chapter twenty-five

the final chapter, which also happens to be a vignette chapter and is thus set in the fictive present! it’s very short and is only one tiny scene but it really ends on the perfect tonal quality for the novel. i can't share any excerpts because it really is very short so! have this iconic screenshot i took as soon as i finished the draft instead:

and that really is it! this was such an incredible journey and i’m so excited to share more of my newer writing and upcoming projects with y’all. it feels so weird that this really is the last time i’ll be making official posts about this novel. truly the end of an era.

1. why did you choose your url?

Just a combination of two animals I like chosen on a whim to make a unique, pleasant sounding word that I wasn’t using elsewhere because I had no idea what I was gonna do with this tumblr thing at the time.

2. any sideblogs?

@bookofcrow is my IC/aesthetic sideblog! Mostly stuff that reminds me of Ahuska, or things that remind her of people in her life, and the odd (very rare atm) sketchbook page of hers!

3. how long have you been on tumblr?

Looks like early 2012? Have I been here TEN YEARS omg. I didn’t really start ‘existing’ on here properly till 2017 or so though.

4. why did you originally start your blog?

Friend at the time said ‘look at this blogging site’ and it confused the hell out of me. I shared and reblogged some stuff but didn’t really achieve a whole lot until some Much Better People came into my life much later down the track.

5. why did you choose your icon?

It’s Ahuska! Drawn by @trashmuh and gifted to me by @askshivanulegacy and it still makes me smile EVERY DAY so it stays.

6. why did you choose your header?

Absolute whim for both PC and mobile versions, no thought behind either except ‘image that goes sideways’. Might change them one day.

7. what’s your post with the most notes?

CAT GHOST

8. how many mutuals do you have?

Literally no idea how to work this out in a not exhausting painstaking way but rest assured you’re all Very Good, also the people whose blogs I check in on individually every now and again but don’t actively follow because I can’t commit to that much scrolling on a daily basis.

9. how many followers do you have?

a nice amount but I don’t play the number comparison game

10. how many blogs do you follow?

275 hahaha there’s probably a bunch that are 100% inactive these days

11. have you ever made a shitpost?

Probably? Does this count?

12. how many times do you use tumblr a day?

I check in pretty frequently but don’t necessarily actively do stuff on it every day.

13. have you ever fought another blog?

Nah. I’ve had some hostility directed my way in the past but the whole ‘don’t engage’ option really does wonders for the mental health, I recommend.

14. how do you feel about “need to reblog” posts?

Yeaaah nope, not big on the guilt tripping thing.

15. do you like tag games?

Yes! I might sometimes forget to do them and let them vanish into the ether but I always love being tagged it’s such a pleasant little buzz to know that anyone’s thought of me.

16. do you like ask games?

Character asks are THE BEST even if I don’t always get around to them though I try! I think about my kids all the time but there’s just something neat about knowing someone else out there has had a curious thought about them?

17. which of your mutuals do you think are tumblr famous?

Man idk who the ‘big names’ are or what, or if any of them follow me back? I have a friend who was tumblr famous in some circles way way back but they saw some of the worst sides of humanity as a result and is long long gone. Too much attention on the internet frankly scares the hell out of me, I like to keep my head low and stay in my weird little corners.

18. do you have a crush on a mutual?

I mean I’m married to a mutual?? XD And I guess I could say I’ve had friend-crushes maybe but I daresay they’re regular proper friendships nowadays.

1. Why did you choose your url?

When I first joined tumblr I used my LJ username but it didn’t feel right after a time so I switched to FancyKraken. I was sitting on the couch thinking what I could use (because all the urls I tried changing it to were taken), and a fancy kraken, complete with top hat and tea, just popped into my head without any prompting. So here we are.

2. Any side blogs?

Yes, I have @frost-iron, @mythicalnorseassholes, @littlemeyer, @gingerbunnie, a music blog (where I reblog music/fanmixes I like), and another personal side blog that I use for reblogging not safe work work stuff, aesthetics, and whatever else that may be of interest that I don’t want to annoy people with here. Plus I know I have people under 18 following me on this tumblr.

Out of all the blogs frost-iron and littlemeyer are the only ones that get used regularly.

3. How long have you been on tumblr?

January 2010

4. Do you have a queue tag?

Pikaqueue

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

People on LiveJournal were talking about it so like any good hive minded individual I checked it out and signed up.

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Because he’s an asshole, makes me angry, he’s my terrible fave, and he bleps a lot. So naturally he had to be my icon.

7. Why did you choose your header?

Because the fat kitty with balloons amuse me.

8. What’s your post with the most notes?

I don’t have the link to the post, but it’s a gifset of Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston from the Thor: The Dark World world press tour. Somehow it got up to over 100k notes.

9. How many mutuals do you have?

I dunno how to find that out.

10. How many followers do you have?

7,924 (although I’m sure a good 90% or more are inactive)

11. How many people do you follow?

551 (but most are inactive now and I’m too lazy to go through them all and unfollow)

12. Have you ever made a shit post?

I am pretty sure I have even though no specific post comes to mind.

13. How often do you use tumblr a day?

Oh at least 2-3 times. When/if I post gifs in the morning, and/or I check on my lunch break and after work. Sometime’s in bed before I go to sleep.

14. Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog?

I mean I guess I have. I haven’t really had any all out fight with another blog, just disagreements etc.

15. How do you feel about the ‘you need to reblog’ posts?

Hate them even if they’re something that is important and with good information. If you add that then I will not reblog them.

16. Do you like tag games?

I do! Even if I forget to complete them I still appreciate being thought of.

17. Do you like ask games?

I do when I’m in the mood and people actually send me an ask. 😂

18. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?

Uhmmmm... I mean I don’t think I have any the are “tumblr” famous, but I do have several that are more well known in their specific fandom spaces.

19. Do you have a crush on a mutual?

I did but they’re it’s very rare they post anymore. I do have several big platonic crushes, though, and would def hold hands with them if asked.
