They choose the place no one would think to look for a prince, a pirate ship. Captain Louis Tomlinson is a privateer as well as a pirate, and is loyal to the crown, and so he vows to protect Harry to the best of his ability.
With Harry kept safe on board The Silver Dagger, his parents work to find an array of suitors, but he just might find he wants someone else

“Hm,” Niall hums, looking entirely unimpressed. “Mate, I’m not worried about the things themselves. The vase is actually really fucking nice; we look like proper adults with flowers on our coffee table. I’m saying we should talk about you courting Harry.”

sunday snippet
It’s been, uh, a while since I’ve written. (Practically 2 months since I’ve actually sat down with the intention of writing. lol yikes) But I had two cups of coffee and wrote this morning!
Thank you @becomeawendybird and @disgruntledkittenface for tagging me (ages ago)! It was so nice to feel included in stuff even when I haven’t been very active recently <3
They walk into the restaurant at 7:02pm, and are promptly guided down a set of stairs into the lower-level party room.
From the doorway, Harry can see his mum and future stepdad, talking to a couple of younger guys. They all laugh and his mum goes in to give one of them a hug while John clasps the other on the shoulder. That must be John’s son and his new omega boyfriend Harry’s heard them talk so much about.
Harry takes a deep breath, smoothes out his shirt, and reaches for Louis’ hand, ready to walk in and muscle his way through this weekend.
But Louis doesn’t take his hand. Instead, he grabs onto Harry’s wrist and yanks him in the opposite direction.
“Lou?” Harry asks, stumbling a bit as he’s pulled.
Louis doesn’t say anything, just gets to the restroom area and shoves Harry inside one of the private toilets.
“Ouch,” Harry says, shaking out his wrist. He watches Louis lock the door and whip around with wild eyes and frown lines etched into his face. “Louis, what the fuck? We’re already lat–”
“Will is here,” he says.
Harry furrows his brows and shakes his head, unsure what that is supposed to mean. “Will…?”
“Will,” Louis says frustratedly. He looks to the door as he adds, “Will. My ex-boyfriend, Will. The alpha who broke up with me after three months because he thought I was too loud and too clingy and too much.” He turns back to Harry to emphasize, “Will!”
Harry gasps. “Asshole Will?”
“Asshole Will,” Louis agrees. “Fuck. Fuck.” He reaches up and grabs two fistfuls of his hair.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Harry steps close, and tries to pull Louis’ hands down from his head, but he’s not budging. “We can ignore him, yeah? It’s just toni–”
“He was hugging your mum,” Louis interrupts.
Harry shakes his head at first, ready to say that no, that was his future stepdad’s son that he saw – when it clicks.
“William,” Harry says.
“Yes,” Louis says, annoyed, finally pulling his hands down from his hair. “Will is often short for William. Very good, Harold.”

until springtime, we sleep (i'll wait for you) by istgeve (5k, NR, Harry/Louis, Christmas fic, Harry is an elf, Louis is on the naughty list, there is a PUNISHMENT if you're on the naughty list, this fic had me hiccuping from laughing so hard but trying to hold it in, it's so silly and ridiculous, and just really great overall, the banter omg the banter, I genuinely am tearing up from trying to stay quiet even now just thinking about it, please read this)
Truebonds by @jacaranda-bloom / jacaranda_bloom (40k, E, Harry/Louis, 1D A/B/O fest, alpha Harry, omega Louis, heat/rut, suppressants, nesting, heat services, accidental bonding, triggered heat/rut, soulmates, there is just SO much in this fic that I cannot simply sum up in a few sentences, the worldbuilding is incredible, the entire concept of how the nesting period goes, how finding their truebond is so unusual, just all of it was fascinating and then seeing it all play out was so natural and real and just so cool, loved this one so much)
Blind Faith by @2tiedships2 / 2tiedships2 (18k, M, Harry/Louis, Blind Harry, Alpha Harry, Omega Louis, Liam is Harry's roommate, meet cute, scenting, strangers to lovers, soulmates, this fic was one of those fics that stays with you for a while, i just keep thinking about it, the way louis was so considerate of harry and doing the research to best know how to help him, but also not take away his choice, like how to show him respect, it was just so incredible and a cool way to learn more)
and i don't care it's obvious by @alwaysxlarrie / alwaysxlarrie (21k, T, Harry/Louis, 1000 Feelings fic, childhood friends to lovers, Louis is Gemma's bff, pining, friends to lovers, flirting, getting together, I preread pieces of this fic and already knew it would be so cute, and it really was, it was filled with so much of that sweet and innocent longing, that i remember so well from when i was younger, and it was just so fun to read that particular storyline here)
Change of Plans by @haztobegood / haztobegood (3k, G, Harry/Louis, Christmas fest fic, queer platonic relationship, ace Harry, nesting, heat, non-traditional a/b/o dynamics, beta Louis, omega Harry, Christmas plans are thrown off by an unexpected heat, but it is so sweet reading about these two omg, I loved them so much, always love me some excellent asexual and queer platonic relationship material, it was WONDERFUL)
Let Them Eat Cock by @uhoh-but-yeah-alright / yeah_alright (2k, E, Louis/Liam, Louis/Zayn, Louis/Harry, Louis/Niall, Glory Hole series, Bastille Day, Glory Hole worker Louis, that's all it is and if you're familiar with the series, this addition doesn't disappoint, I had had an incredibly shitty day and needed a laugh, and knew this would deliver, and it really fucking did haha, giggles and excellent smut, what more could you want in a 2k fic?)
One for the Books by @neondiamond / Neondiamond (25k, M, Harry/Louis, Zayn/Liam, Advent fic, Christmas fic, bookshop owner Harry, teacher Louis, strangers to lovers, friends to lovers, misunderstandings, new beginnings, fluff, flirting, new relationship, this had all the best things you want around Christmas, and it was so much fun to read, the way it all came together and developed was a joy to read, and it was so great keeping up with it through December)
Storm Warning by @restless-rebels / restless_rebels (4k, T, Harry/Louis, WCC Secret Santa fic, doggie daycare owner Harry, meet ugly, but it turns into a meet cute so it's okay hehe, puppy owner Louis, winter storm, this fic was actually a gift for me, and i loved reading it so much, it was so fun and cute and sweet)
Advent Drabbles by @berzerkshires / berzerkshires (E, 3k, Harry/Louis, Advent fic, Christmas fic, drabbles, canon compliant, established relationship, every day a 100 word drabble posted, and it was incredible how drawn in I was with so few words, when I realized the final word count was that small, yet so much was gone over, it was amazing, such a fun read and little morsels of goodness every day was a joy)

Set the Sky Alight, Oh Holy Night by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry (34k, T, Harry/Louis, Zayn/Liam, Niall/Lewis, Advent fic, Christmas fic, crack fic, yet also inspired by a true story, wild lollll, roommates, strangers to lovers, coworkers, unsafe living conditions, truly i have no idea how oli let them continue living there lmao, this fic is a classic emmu advent fic, and it DELIVERS on the humor and ridiculous situations, as well as the tenderness and incredibly sweet affection, always a journey and a joy to read her advent fics)
make you mine this season by @disgruntledkittenface / disgruntledkittenface (29k, M, Nick Grimshaw/Louis, Harry/Zayn, Advent fic, Christmas fic, girl direction, the Holiday AU basically haha, miscommunication, flirting, everyone's American, a plethora of lesbian jokes that are jokes because they're real for these disastrous girls haha, Nick and Harry are besties who mix up their Christmas holiday surprises for each other, by planning the same thing for each other on the same day, leaving them stuck in each other's cities without the other, and it is FANTASTIC OMG, I'm not joking when I told Maggie that if I hadn't already had my big bi revelation, this fic would have pushed me to it, LOVED IT SO MUCH)

Tuesday Teaser

This is for my @1daboficfest fic 😍
They begin to make their way to Dover, and Harry becomes very aware that Captain Tomlinson doesn’t know they are coming, and that he might not even agree to keep him onboard.
What will happen to him then? Maybe he’ll be sent to one of the residences his parents own.
“Everything will be fine son,” Desmond says to him, sensing his nerves. Harry gives him a tight lipped smile before turning to look out the window again.
They arrive at Dover two hours later, and Harry sees multiple wooden ships with the English flag, and he sees one ship with an English flag and a skull and crossbones flag. He wonders whether Captain Tomlinson has that one. The palms of his hands begin to feel clammy as he steps out of the carriage. He looks out to the sea, if Captain Tomlinson agrees, he will be sailing off into that unknown.
He follows his parents as they walk down the sand, the boots on Harry’s feet keeping the grains from annoying him. They walk to the ship with the two flags, and Harry stands behind his parents. An Alpha walks down the ramp, bowing to them. Harry sees the Alpha has bright blue eyes, his brown hair styled across his forehead, looking like it’s not kept tidy but he suits the look.
“Your Majesties. What may I do for you?” He straightens up. “My, my, is my eyes deceiving me or is that Prince Harry I see?”

Set around 2014/WWAT tour. I'm sure this is absolutley canon and definitely happened (lol jokes). I chose this prompt as an excuse to write smut with banter and work out how each of them would react and I'm hoping I got it spot on. Couldn't help but get a bit fluffy towards the end lol. Also I had title struggles and just went for the obvious in the end haha.

it is a/b/o! it's also them being shifters. and it got its title from the first two lines in it.
“There are wolves in the living room.”
“Oh, for fucks sake.”
I started writing this before I had read any fics that changed the a/b/o dynamics, as in making the omega the dom and the alpha the sub, because I wanted to read it but couldn't find any. I know there are a few (yours, for example, and I know that @sadaveniren has a great one) I just wasn't the best at navigating ao3 back then. but since I found some, I felt a bit underqualified to write it and pretty much abandoned it

okay, I changed my mind. you probably don't know this one. not that well at least. this was what I set out to write when I started writing the fic that eventually turned into my canon fest fic, snapshots of moments. I started writing it as a fun thing, but then it quickly turned into something very angsty and clingy Harry (which is now chapter 10). the idea was that there were two interns in this venue 1D was playing and they were acting about as subtly as HL with their feelings, but claimed they were "just good friends".
Interview situation
this is also originally for the canon fest fic, but you didn't allow me to add it because it was too angsty. or you suggested that I'd post it on its own because it would be too heavy for the rest of the drabbles. so yes, it is angsty. very angsty.
I can share a snippet from it (that you, A, probably will regret reading if you read it. also, anyone who doesn't like angst and fics about closeting, just skip this)
Because no matter how much it hurts to ignore the person you love, that is still easier to take than constantly being told off when you show your lover your love.
That’s why they pretend the other isn’t a meter away. That’s why they take a detour when they are changing spots on stage. That’s why they never say the other's name.
They can’t take being told their love is wrong all the time. It’s bad enough when they mess up.
They get punished. They get their private time taken away. They get their off days turned into scheduled obligations. They get separated. They get placed on opposite ends of the earth, kissing people they wished they never had met.
Today is one of those days. A sudden change of plans, an unscheduled interview and their private time cut short.
Fuck, Louis wants to cry.

yes, you do know this one. this is the fic I'm planning to write for the @omegaharryfest. the prompt I came up with is "Harry and his roommate never talk, but it is in his bed he ends up every night." and no, it's not as sexy and smutty as it sounds. it's angsty, sad and I think Harry might be depressed. but it has touch starvation! which is a bit ironic, since the fic I wrote for the last round of the fest was also centered around touch starvation. oh well. I love that trope 😂

I have two new upcoming fics. The first one is for Omega Harry Fic Fest. It will be published on 6th June.
Here's a little summary for it,
Harry has been told all his life how grateful he should be for being born as a male omega, and how blessed their people were because the heir to the throne would be carried by The King.
What they neglected to tell Harry was what would happen if he failed to become pregnant.
OR
Where omega Crown Prince Harry Styles is trying and failing to get pregnant for four years, but all that is about to change when courtesan alpha Louis Tomlinson comes into the equation.
And the second one is for 1D A/B/O Fic Fest. I just recently finished writing it. So here's the rough summary for it,
All finesse tossed aside, Harry yanks the envelope from Miss Eden's hand. He hears her laugh, bright and cheerful as he tears into the envelope. His eyes skipping over the complimentary paragraph congratulation him for being assigned, settling into the centre of the letter - the name of his future mate.
And suddenly, Harry feels there isn't enough air in this world for him to inhale as he recites the name in his mind. Louis Tomlinson.
OR
In the world where mates are assigned to everyone and deposited to their door when an agreeable partner is found for them, Alpha Louis has recently been given his. However, he is nothing like the type of alpha that the omega academy prepares Harry for.
Both are fairly new genre for me, so please bear with them :') I hope you will like it!

hi! the fic fest you have in mind is very cute but i’d suggest changing the time period? beside the small time authors would have to write i’d suggest instead of christmas (which we usually have more fics published) somewhere later in the year maybe when we lack fics being published (march/april)
Hi, good morning. Thank you for the suggestions doll.
I understand the time constraints that’s why the minimum word count is only 1K so if the writers have like time to write like when they’re on a train or something they can easily whip it up and done, they already got something for christmas.
If we can run this fest successfully for the end of this year. I am planning to to run this fests at least four times a year. With major holidays, or when the gaps in the year where there is lack of fanfics published because I observed how this year the months you have mentioned there’s barely anything posted. I still need to look at the possible months that we can roll out the publishing of fics and also doing sign ups at the side for the next batch of fics to roll out.
Also, there’s not much larry fanfics being written now (I regularly check daily on ao3) and only when there’s a fests running, being bottom harry, bottom louis and a/b/o’s our biggest so far. We need to support the other themes fest as well so hopefully this will encourage people to write more for the 1D fandom especially the larry relationship.
I have huge vision for this fests. I know the other Mod would be very supportive as well.
