Peculiar Ugly Duckling by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry (4k, G, Harry/Louis, Isle of Eroda fest fic, Magic, Harry is the Boy from the Adore You video, Louis is a fish named Louwee, crack fic, POV of Louwee the FOUS aka fish of unusual size, this fic is silly but still so emotional and wonderful, i was giggling and crying and just so endeared by this entire thing, basically a usual emmu fic hehe)
until springtime, we sleep (i'll wait for you) by istgeve (5k, NR, Harry/Louis, Christmas fic, Harry is an elf, Louis is on the naughty list, there is a PUNISHMENT if you're on the naughty list, this fic had me hiccuping from laughing so hard but trying to hold it in, it's so silly and ridiculous, and just really great overall, the banter omg the banter, I genuinely am tearing up from trying to stay quiet even now just thinking about it, please read this)
Truebonds by @jacaranda-bloom / jacaranda_bloom (40k, E, Harry/Louis, 1D A/B/O fest, alpha Harry, omega Louis, heat/rut, suppressants, nesting, heat services, accidental bonding, triggered heat/rut, soulmates, there is just SO much in this fic that I cannot simply sum up in a few sentences, the worldbuilding is incredible, the entire concept of how the nesting period goes, how finding their truebond is so unusual, just all of it was fascinating and then seeing it all play out was so natural and real and just so cool, loved this one so much)
Blind Faith by @2tiedships2 / 2tiedships2 (18k, M, Harry/Louis, Blind Harry, Alpha Harry, Omega Louis, Liam is Harry's roommate, meet cute, scenting, strangers to lovers, soulmates, this fic was one of those fics that stays with you for a while, i just keep thinking about it, the way louis was so considerate of harry and doing the research to best know how to help him, but also not take away his choice, like how to show him respect, it was just so incredible and a cool way to learn more)
and i don't care it's obvious by @alwaysxlarrie / alwaysxlarrie (21k, T, Harry/Louis, 1000 Feelings fic, childhood friends to lovers, Louis is Gemma's bff, pining, friends to lovers, flirting, getting together, I preread pieces of this fic and already knew it would be so cute, and it really was, it was filled with so much of that sweet and innocent longing, that i remember so well from when i was younger, and it was just so fun to read that particular storyline here)
Change of Plans by @haztobegood / haztobegood (3k, G, Harry/Louis, Christmas fest fic, queer platonic relationship, ace Harry, nesting, heat, non-traditional a/b/o dynamics, beta Louis, omega Harry, Christmas plans are thrown off by an unexpected heat, but it is so sweet reading about these two omg, I loved them so much, always love me some excellent asexual and queer platonic relationship material, it was WONDERFUL)
Let Them Eat Cock by @uhoh-but-yeah-alright / yeah_alright (2k, E, Louis/Liam, Louis/Zayn, Louis/Harry, Louis/Niall, Glory Hole series, Bastille Day, Glory Hole worker Louis, that's all it is and if you're familiar with the series, this addition doesn't disappoint, I had had an incredibly shitty day and needed a laugh, and knew this would deliver, and it really fucking did haha, giggles and excellent smut, what more could you want in a 2k fic?)
One for the Books by @neondiamond / Neondiamond (25k, M, Harry/Louis, Zayn/Liam, Advent fic, Christmas fic, bookshop owner Harry, teacher Louis, strangers to lovers, friends to lovers, misunderstandings, new beginnings, fluff, flirting, new relationship, this had all the best things you want around Christmas, and it was so much fun to read, the way it all came together and developed was a joy to read, and it was so great keeping up with it through December)
Storm Warning by @restless-rebels / restless_rebels (4k, T, Harry/Louis, WCC Secret Santa fic, doggie daycare owner Harry, meet ugly, but it turns into a meet cute so it's okay hehe, puppy owner Louis, winter storm, this fic was actually a gift for me, and i loved reading it so much, it was so fun and cute and sweet)
Advent Drabbles by @berzerkshires / berzerkshires (E, 3k, Harry/Louis, Advent fic, Christmas fic, drabbles, canon compliant, established relationship, every day a 100 word drabble posted, and it was incredible how drawn in I was with so few words, when I realized the final word count was that small, yet so much was gone over, it was amazing, such a fun read and little morsels of goodness every day was a joy)
California stars by @justanothershadeofblue / justanothershadeofblue (zjofierose) (28k, M, Harry/Louis, Advent fic, Christmas fic, historical (1800s), strangers to lovers, farmer Harry, epistolary fic, written entirely in journal entries, strangers to lovers, hurt/comfort, melancholy, friendship, listen this fic, it like changed me, and that feels like a stupidly huge thing to say about a story but for real this one dug a little place for itself inside of me, and has lodged itself well there, i adore this fic, it deserves so much love and attention, it's beautifully written and crafted, the entire fucking thing, it's incredible and one of my absolute favorite fics)
Set the Sky Alight, Oh Holy Night by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry (34k, T, Harry/Louis, Zayn/Liam, Niall/Lewis, Advent fic, Christmas fic, crack fic, yet also inspired by a true story, wild lollll, roommates, strangers to lovers, coworkers, unsafe living conditions, truly i have no idea how oli let them continue living there lmao, this fic is a classic emmu advent fic, and it DELIVERS on the humor and ridiculous situations, as well as the tenderness and incredibly sweet affection, always a journey and a joy to read her advent fics)
make you mine this season by @disgruntledkittenface / disgruntledkittenface (29k, M, Nick Grimshaw/Louis, Harry/Zayn, Advent fic, Christmas fic, girl direction, the Holiday AU basically haha, miscommunication, flirting, everyone's American, a plethora of lesbian jokes that are jokes because they're real for these disastrous girls haha, Nick and Harry are besties who mix up their Christmas holiday surprises for each other, by planning the same thing for each other on the same day, leaving them stuck in each other's cities without the other, and it is FANTASTIC OMG, I'm not joking when I told Maggie that if I hadn't already had my big bi revelation, this fic would have pushed me to it, LOVED IT SO MUCH)

hellooooo! i read a lot of buck/eddie fics, literally everyday, and earlier this december i thought "why not share some of my favorites that i have read this month?" so here we are! i couldn't include everything i've read and enjoyed, the list would be really long. but i've picked a few fanfics that i've read (for the first time) in december that were really huge favorites and stayed with me for a little while these past days/weeks. i will try to make these on a monthly basis, because fanfic authors deserve all of the recognition! oh, and happy new year!

The chances of being struck by lightning twice are incredibly minute, but Buck still manages to pull it off. During a double date with Marisol and Natalia, nonetheless. Eddie manages to resuscitate him, but as Buck recovers from yet another trauma, Eddie can’t help but notice there’s something very different about him. He’s not quite sure what version of Buck he got back.
this fic is absolutely incredible. i couldn't put it down once i started. it's extremely well written and brilliantly planned out. the angst is heavy but so is the reward: this is an amazing story. easily an all-time favorite!

another exquisite fic from this author. they never miss!! this one explores a dynamic i don't read that often (sub eddie) but it works SO well here. extremely well done, as usual. i also absolutely love this buck here.

okay so i literally read this in one sitting and went to bed at 7am to finish it. i couldn't put it down. the angst is SO good and frustrating and delicious and painful. but the payoff is so worth it!! this is really really really good. i loved all the dynamics, especially eddie and karen's friendship.

AUTHOR NOTE: This is my first fic for FX’s The Bear. This contains spoilers from Season 2, so please don’t read it if you haven’t watched it. In “Honeydew”, Luca mentions that he’s been working as a pastry chef/chef for 14 years, so he has to be in his early/mid-30s (32-34-ish?) and there will be a small age gap between him and Symone. Also, Chapters 1-3 are set a month and a half before Marcus’ stage trip in January. Please DM me if you want to be added to the tag list. Enjoy reading!

CHAPTER III.V: Simple Syrup
SIMPLE SYRUP: A solution of sugar in water. Usually made with equal parts sugar and water.
December 2022
The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow across the room. Symone stirred, her body sore beyond measure, and the events of the previous night slowly coming back to her in fragments.
Without missing a beat, Luca's strokes deepened as he spread her legs to accommodate his wide body and powerful movements of his hips. Waves of pure ecstasy rippled through her body, causing her to convulse uncontrollably.
"Atta girl," uttered Luca as he plunged in and out of her moist depths. "God, you're so wet. Give it all to me...fuck Symone..."
"Oh, Luca," hissed Symone as her insides clamped around him. She was unsure of the number of times she'd orgasmed, but this had to be number four or five, which had to be some type of world record. Surely, climaxing repeatedly in such a short span of time was unheard of, yet here she was, in a euphoric high once again.
"That's it, darling, Christ Symone. That's–fuck!" Luca let out a guttural growl as he came, filling her up to the brim with his seed. Panting, he leaned over her, placing kisses on her neck. "You're amazing...Jesus Christ."
They continued until the wee hours of the morning, finding themselves in various positions.
Pushing those thoughts aside, she turned, finding herself nestled against Luca's warm and naked form. His steady breaths and the rise and fall of his chest were a comforting rhythm.
Gently extricating herself from his tight embrace, she pulled the sheet around her and sat up, her mind racing. She replayed the night once more; the raw passion, and the unspoken understanding that hung between them.
As she sat in the quiet, contemplative moments of the morning, she couldn't help but wonder about the implications. They had agreed that what happened in Oslo would stay in Oslo, but that didn't erase the fact that it did happen. What did it mean for their friendship, for their working relationship?
Meanwhile, in the bed, Luca stirred, blinking his eyes open. The sight of Symone, bathed in the soft morning light, took his breath away. He sat up, the sheet pooling around his waist, and his gaze locked with hers. There was a mixture of emotions in his eyes - desire, vulnerability, and something else that he couldn't quite put into words.
"Hey," he said softly, breaking the silence. His voice was a raspy murmur, tinged with the remnants of sleep.
Symone's expression was a mirror of the complex emotions in Luca's eyes. "Hey," she replied, her voice just as soft. They held each other's gaze for a moment, the weight of the unspoken hanging in the air.
Finally, Luca reached out, his fingers grazing hers. "Last night... it was..." he began, struggling to find the right words.
"It was," Symone finished for him, a small smile playing on her lips. She understood that some things were better left unsaid, at least for now.
They sat in companionable silence, the morning sun painting their entwined fingers with a warm glow. The world outside moved on, but in that moment, it felt like time had suspended just for them.
They both knew that this was a turning point, a shift in the dynamics of their relationship. What it meant, they couldn't quite say yet. But one thing was certain - they would have to deal with it together.
"How're you doing?" he asked.
"I'm...okay," answered Symone with a small shrug. "A little sore though. It...um...been a while since I, well, y'know, and you're....bigger than I expected."
She sounded embarrassed, and Luca's fingers flitted upwards to her bare shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"I understand, love," he said to her. "I was a bit unhinged, unfortunately."
"A bit?" she retorted with a scoff.
Luca rolled his eyes in mock annoyance. "Alright, alright, perhaps more than a bit, but it's all your fault anyway."
"How is it ever my fault?" wondered Symone, arching an eyebrow in confusion. "You were going at it like a madman."
"Ha!" laughed Luca, "Says the woman with the greatest pussy known to humanity. Fuck, Symone, you have no idea how long I wanted you and to have you, finally, it was so much better than I could ever imagine."
Symone cocked her head to the side in disbelief. "Really?"
"Fuck yeah."
She had to be dreaming, right? Luca and his sexy voice – hell, sexy everything – desired her this much?
"Interesting," she mused with a harrumph. There was another beat of silence between them and Symone's eyes perused his taut body.
Luca was in better shape than a lot of men she knew, especially those in the culinary industry, and he was tatted up. She only had the pleasure of seeing his arm tattoos, but he had torso tattoos as well: a Socrates quote above his right pectoral and a phoenix on his left hip near his Adonis belt. He was full of surprises, from his impressive tongue skills to that Prince Albert piercing on his penis.
Symone knew, deep down, that one weekend with him would never satisfy her, but she had to accept that this was all it could be. Things would return to normal once they were back in Copenhagen – meaning no more kisses and sex. For the time being, Symone decided to enjoy this little tryst and to reap in all the glory that was Luca Davies.
While she was dazed in her thoughts, Luca took this time to scoot over and wrap an arm around her waist. Placing tender kisses on her lower back and hip, Symone was slowly pulled out of her reverie, and she let out a soft whimper.
“I can kiss you forever,” Luca murmured.

Suddenly, the rhythmic click-clack of heels echoed through the kitchen, drawing both their attention. Luca and Marcus exchanged a quick glance, before recognizing the newcomer's arrival.
And there she was, Symone, looking gorgeous as always in a pair of body-hugging jeans, an off-the-shoulder sweater, and her signature heeled boots.
Luca's gaze lingered on Symone, momentarily at a loss for words. He quickly composed himself by clearing his throat and introduced her to Marcus.
"Marcus, meet Symone. She's the one who keeps us all in line," Luca said with a half-smile. "She's Noma's social media manager."
Marcus couldn't resist a quip. "Good to know I'm not the only Black person here in Copenhagen. It's nice to meet you."
Symone laughed, a warm sound that seemed to capture Luca's attention. "Nice to meet you too, Marcus."
Luca managed to conceal his jealousy behind a polite smile as they exchanged pleasantries.
"You'll learn a lot from Luca", Symone assured Marcus. "He's the best. I have to finish up on a project, but I'll see you around."
"Yeah, I'll definitely love that," Marcus replied, his enthusiasm evident.
Her gaze shifted to Luca. "Luca," nodded Symone, bidding her farewell.
Luca's blue eyes connected with hers and they held for a brief impasse. "Symone," he retorted in a monotone voice.
Once Symone left, Luca and Marcus returned to their work. As Marcus attempted to try once again, which he was somewhat better, and in a moment of candor, he asked Luca about his relationship with Symone.
"Is she your girl?" Marcus inquired as he nuzzled the sliver into the pudding.
Luca let out a scoff, shaking his head. "Nah, it's... complicated."
Marcus leaned back, regarding Luca with a thoughtful expression. "Uncomplicate it, man. Trust me, it's better that way."
"And how do you know this?" wondered Luca, arms crossing over his chest in slight annoyance and pique interest.
Marcus gave him a nonchalant shrug. "I just know, man. Life's too short to be petty and playin' games."
Luca let out a chuckle. "Duly noted."

Hollywood Superstar YN to Make Comeback on Her Saturday Night Live Hosting Debut This December 2
‘From The Other Side’ actress and producer, YN will host NBC’s Emmy-winning live comedy show, Saturday Night Live for the first time this Saturday after her hiatus last year.
It was announced through social media today that the Oscar-nominated actress will make her hosting debut on the show this coming Saturday.
Along with YN, Indonesian singer-songwriter NIKI will also be having her SNL debut as the musical guest of the night.
It is worth mentioning that this will be YN's comeback in front of the cameras after taking an unexpected break in April 2022. She pulled out from projects with other big personalities from Hollywood such as Chris Evans and director, Wes Anderson.
Fans were instantly delighted by the news and expressed their joy over Twitter, with YN’s name being listed on worldwide trends almost immediately after the announcement.

Everyone– the fans and the press– truly hyped up the upcoming show, prompting even the general audience to be aware. Some critics shared that you might be able to bring high ratings for the show because of your large and active fanbase. Success was already expected for you and the show.
“Everyone, please welcome, YN!”
You enter through the big blue curtains, wearing a classy Gianni Versace Couture black long bell-sleeve dress from the 90s. You were looking like complete royalty with the matching diamond necklace and earrings you wore as you had your hair in a sleek low bun. The audience welcomed you with cheers and you cannot help but be surprised by everyone’s reaction.
“Oh, wow…” you mumbled, Turning your eyes from the audience to the host.
“Wow, right? That’s a lot of love.” Jimmy said, which you nodded at.
“Yeah, this is a little overwhelming… in a good way,” you said which made everyone laugh. Before you turned and waved to the viewers again, “Hi, everyone!”
They began cheering in response. You giggled with their enthusiasm.
“This is what you get for suddenly taking a break last year!” Jimmy said, using a stern, sarcastic tone.
You chuckled with that, “This is actually great! Maybe I should take unexpected hiatus every once in a while–”
“No, no, no.” Jimmy cut you off, more worried, holding your hand that rests on his table. You two instantly laughed. “We missed you a lot!”
“So… you’ll be hosting Saturday Night Live for this week…” he began.
“Yes. Yes, I am.” you nod as you shifted in your seat.
“How was it? How does it feel?”
“Oh, it feels really awesome! I’ve been wanting to host for a long time now since I loved the show ever since I was little. And I was really nervous at first when I showed up there. But everyone has been pretty nice and so talented. Everyone works so fast.” you shared, making the viewers laugh. “I’m not kidding! I was with the cast and Lorne Michaels in his office. Then, they asked me if I have any sketch ideas. After I shared mine, everyone just started to pitch like a hundred sketches and I was just sitting there, watching everyone collaborate. It’s amazing to see.”
“Yeah, that’s how it goes in the show.” Jimmy agreed. “It’s the best crew up there. The writers, the cast, the makeup and hair crew.”
“They are all wonderful,” you added.
“Yes. And you are going to be fantastic this weekend. Knock ‘em dead in Studio 8H. We’ll be watching.” he clapped and the audience cheered. Your lips form into a smile as you felt relief growing in your chest.
Jimmy continued as the applause lies low, “The last time you were here, we were talking about your then-upcoming film, From The Other Side. And now, you got nominations for it and even won a BAFTA’s Best Actress last February! Congratulation on that. You deserve it.”
Everyone clapped while you smiled, “Thank you.”
“And your director, Emerald Fennell, read your speech for you. In which you state that she made you make that speech hours before the ceremony?!”
“Ah, yes.” you chortled. “I wasn’t expecting to win that night. I mean, the lineup of other nominees for that category that night was really incredible. So I didn’t bother to write anything. But Em really pushed me to send something. She always believed in me and knew that I have a chance in winning that award. So I just texted her anything I could think of and said I love Brandon Fraser.”
The conclusion at the end made Jimmy and the audience laugh.
“I mean, who doesn’t?” the host backed you up. “Then, Academy Awards came by March and everyone was expecting you’ll show up. But during the red carpet event, you posted this…”
Jimmy showed a snapshot of you playing the piano. You grinned, “I did. I’ve been learning to play the piano since last year and I know my supporters are waiting for me. So I just showed them I’m at home so they won’t wait up.”
“That’s nice and you were really good with the piano.” Jimmy compliments. “But can we talk about your hiatus?”
You pause and nod. Now, this is the part Hailey gave you a heads-up on. You were aware that your unanticipated break will be talked about tonight. Your manager gave you a guide on how the show and host will discuss everything in order.
Jimmy, on the flip side, was told earlier by his producers that he can ask about it. Admittedly, he was confused and worried if you knew that you were going to be interviewed about your break since everyone knows you have been private for the past couple of years. He doesn’t want to cause any discomfort to his guests. When he confirmed that you agreed with the topic of tonight’s interview, he agreed to discuss it with guide questions from his writers.
“Yeah, sure.”
The tension was rising in the room at the moment you replied. It was dead silent. But what made it lighter was when the production crew chose to play things off by setting the spotlight just on you two, making it seem like an interrogation scene. It made everyone laugh, even you and Jimmy.
“So… people were saying you took a break last year because of a lot of things.” the host spoke, emphasizing the word.
“Oh, yeah. I heard about it.” you raised an eyebrow. “How about let’s play a game of true or false with those headline rumors?”
The audience cheered with excitement. This is a rare time a big celebrity would debunk or confirm news about them personally.
“Okay, okay. Let's start with this one…” Jimmy reads, “True or false. YN, are you planning to retire from acting really soon?”
“False, Jimmy! I’m hosting SNL this week for goodness’ sake,” you answered dramatically. The host laughed.
“She’s hosting SNL this week, people!” he repeated, looking at the camera. “How about this one? YN, true or false, did you move away from the country and lived in South Korea for a year?”
You grinned, “Partially true.”
“Explain yourself, YN.”
“Okay, the only thing that was right in that rumor is that I did move.” you teased everyone. “And no, I am not telling where.”
“Understood. Okay, let’s move to another one… oooh, this is the most controversial yet.” Jimmy laughed as he looked at you. “True or false, you took an unexpected hiatus because you got into a bad heartbreak.”
The audience’s reaction was all ‘ooh’ in a curious and a little worried way. Like they just saw someone sprinkling salt on someone’s wound. You took your time before answering,
“False,” you replied, shaking your head. “Definitely untrue. I think everyone just knows it when I’m in a relationship.”
“No, I don’t think we do, YN.” Jimmy rebutted, making the viewers laugh as they relate too. With years of everyone romantically connecting you and Jin, they just cannot tell if you two are romantically together or not. The host continued, “But are you not really dating anyone right now?”
“Oh, I’m not. I’m not dating anyone right now…” your voice trailed off as you make a side eye at the audience. They showed their disapproval with that by playfully booing, and you giggled.
He copied your tone and action as he asked, “But is there anyone you’ve been seeing currently or…”
“I don’t know, Jimmy…” you sighed, shaking your head. You acted disappointed in a very obvious way. “It’s really hard to find someone to date when you’re married. I mean, I think it’s a crime to go out with someone while–”
Big gasps. Everyone in the room– excluding you– gasped at the same time that it was audible. Their eyes were wide, a few have their hands on their chests, and someone screeched in surprise at what you said.
“Wait, what?” Jimmy asked as soon as he picked up what you just said.
“What?” you looked around the room, acting like you didn’t just say something of a big deal. “Oh, yeah. I’m married, you guys!”
Breaking the silence, the band played the drums as you showed off the wedding ring on your finger, hiding below the bell sleeve of your dress. Not just a wedding band, but a blinding engagement ring also sat on top of it.
“Oh my god! Congratulations!” Jimmy stood up from his swivel chair and walked up to you. You stood up and you shared a hug. He whispered, “Congratulations!”
“This is wonderful!” he added, as he holds both of your arms.
You laughed as you nodded, “I know!”
Everyone laughed while applauding at the fact you are now married. Jimmy hugged you again before walking back to his spot. You can feel your cheeks hurt from how long you have been smiling throughout the interview. But you love it. You love that you finally shared the news with the public.
“When did you get married?” the host asked.
“Two years ago! It was in 2021, Jimmy!” you replied happily and you heard another series of reactions in surprise.
“What?!” Jimmy’s lips gaped. “You were already married when you went here last time?”
You nodded with chuckles, “Yes. My husband and I chose to be pretty private about the whole process. We value enjoying the first couple of years of our marriage without the whole attention of everyone. But now, we decided to share it with you, guys finally!”
“This is really great, YN. Thank you so much for coming to the show.” Jimmy smiled and you can feel that he was genuine. Jimmy turned to the camera again, “YN. Ladies and gentlemen! We’ll be right back.”
The camera still caught you waving to everyone before it cuts to the commercial. With this kind of news, it was expected how everyone will react. Showbiz websites and accounts began writing their articles. Your fans were expressing their emotions and surprise.

Of course, topping the list is your three-time co-star and always rumored lover, JIN. One of the most memorable stories in the YNJIN fandom is when you two flew to South Korea with friends back in 2021.

Then, the theory about you having a secret partner was brought up. Ever since the lockdowns, some people have believed that you are possibly dating someone who is not in Hollywood. They claimed that someone is a successful, private, and young entrepreneur.
It’s no secret that there are people and solo fans who think that you and Jin are only doing the whole ‘dating or not dating’ bit for attention and to keep your names floating on social media and articles. It helped you two become household names in Hollywood, other than your works. You two were everywhere online with your fans making edits, sharing their thoughts, and posting every picture of you. Although accidentally, the general public was always aware of what was going on with you.
And what’s going on with your always rumored lover, you might be wondering.
Jin is still inactive on social media. His last online update was promoting the final episode of his limited series on HBO, which was a couple of months ago. But he had public appearances since the premiere. Two appearances to be specific.
Friday, almost two days after you announced your marriage and fans made their theories about your husband’s identity. Of course, the number of people who believed that Jin is your spouse was high. They were hoping to see Jin around New York since you will be doing SNL there for the weekend and they will take it as confirmation. “I did. She is one of my friends in the industry. Of course, I knew.” he answered simply, not bothering to look at the cameras. He just focused his eyes on the pathway to make sure he won’t stumble because of the press crowding around him.
“Any thoughts about it?” another one asked.
“I’m happy for her. She deserves happiness above all.”
His lips can be seen forming into a small smile as he replied. He finally got to the driver’s seat of his car. Before he hopped in, he answered one last question.
“Any hints about her husband?”
“Nice guy. A little childish sometimes but he makes good jokes.” he chuckled before driving away.

And Saturday came. Since you were all over the news the whole week, your name was mentioned during the cold open. Hearing the people’s excitement as you prepare backstage made you breathe a little better. The intro began and the band began playing.
“Thirty seconds left, hon.” one of the staff members, who waits with you behind the door, whispered. “Good luck.”
You smiled at her, “Thank you. Donna.”
And as soon as you send that, you heard the announcer saying:
“Ladies and gentlemen, tonight’s host, YN!”
That’s your cue. Someone opened the door for you, you walked out and everyone sees you in a black blazer mini dress and strappy pumps. Standing in the middle of the stage, you cannot really see the audience properly because of the light pointed at you. Still, you put on a smile and tried to shake off the twisting feeling in your stomach. You jived to the melody and paused when it stopped. The audience was clapping the whole time.
“Thank you! Thank you very much. I am so happy to be finally here on the SNL stage for the very first time!” you began and they cheered once again. “And it’s great to be here, in front of everyone again, after ghosting y’all for almost two years!” waves of laughter erupt. “ Now, some of you may be heard of me from my first movie when I was 9, Little Miss Sunshine–” people cheered. “Or my most recent film, From The Other Side. Or maybe you just heard a piece of certain news about me…” you winked.
“So in case you’re living under a rock, three days ago, I surprised everyone by announcing that I got married–” the audience erupted with claps and cheers. “–last 2021 to an actual person that nobody knows about.” you rolled your eyes, making everyone laugh.
“And every cast member here has been asking me this past few days: how did you got married? Where did you get married? Who’s the lucky guy? And you know what, let me just go give him a call–”
The audience screamed in excitement. You tapped on your dress’s pockets, searching for your phone. SNL cast member Kenan Thompson got on stage, handing you your phone.
“Hey, YN. You left your phone in the makeup chair.”
“Oh, thanks, Kenan.”
“And since I was the one who found it… can you please tell me who is your husband?” he said it in an excited kid way that made everyone cackle.

A series of knocks were heard. A familiar tune from your past suspense movie played in the background. The audience laughed as you and Keenan looked at each other with wide eyes. You slipped your phone into your pocket and began acting alert like a spy.
“Does someone really knocks on that door?” you asked in the serious tone of your old character.
He shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t know. You were the last one who went from there.”
The audience laughed and another knock was heard.
“Lemme go check on that.” Kenan was about to walk to the door but you stopped him.
“What if it’s The Creator?” you asked, referencing the antagonist.
“Who the hell is that? The only creator here is Lorne Michaels.” Kenan quipped, receiving laughs from everyone, before walking to the door.
You waited on the stage and the camera focused on Kenan, who peeked through the door instead of opening it directly. He was teasing. Then, he looked back to you, to the camera, and back to whoever was on the other side of the door. He was grinning. Everyone was wondering what was going on. It was just pure silence. And as he walked down the small set of steps, he spoke:
“Oh, YN! Someone is looking for you!”
You raised an eyebrow, “Who is it–”
Then suddenly the door just opens, showing a man in a dark casual suit and a bouquet of white tulips in his hands. He uttered,
“Hi, I’m actually looking for my wife–”
Jin was cut off by screams from the audience. He bit his inner cheek to stop himself from smiling. But everyone can notice the corner of his lips forming into a smile. In live shows like this, the actor would usually wait for the intense audience response to die down for a few seconds. But the reactions are not getting smaller, so Jin resumed.
“She told me she’s going here tonight.”
“Oh, I’m here! I’m here! I’m the wife!”
You raised your hand with a proud grin on your face and Jin had to walk down with a bouquet in his hand. The audience laughed as the band plays a wedding march. Your husband laughs too. When you two stood next to each other in the middle of the stage, Keenan introduced you two:
“Everyone, please welcome, for the first time ever as a married couple, YN and Jin!”
The audience clapped, cheered, and somebody even whistled. He softly placed his hand on the small of your back before you turned to him. Your hand caresses his cheek as you two lean closer to each other. For the first time ever, you and Jin shared a kiss in front of the public. Everyone cheered louder. Pulling away, you two smiled slowly as you gazed into each other’s eyes. You noticed the slight tint of red growing on his cheeks and ears. It reminded you of so many moments in your relationship. It was like you got lost in the moment for a second before you turn to the camera.
“We got a great show tonight! Stick around. NIKI is here! We’ll be right back!”
The camera pans away as you wrapped your arms around Jin’s neck, pulling him in for a kiss again, while he holds your waist.
You did a total of eight skits, two of which were pretaped. Your husband made another appearance during the show. He played a character with Michael Che, Colin Jost, and Mikey Day during the Weekend Update segment, playing as paparazzi who never did their job right. Jin had a line that was so ironic, it made the audience laugh and react from their seats.
“Yeah, last week, I heard that very beautiful actress got married…”
Michael asked, in character, amidst the giggles, “Who? What’s her name?”
“I think he’s talking about Scarlett Johansson.” Mikey chimed in, making Colin Jost smile, who replies, “No, I don’t think he’s not.”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot she already married that comedy guy three years ago.” Mikey replied, making Jost shake his head as he blush.
Jin finally answered, “It’s YN! You know, the one who posts cat pics all over the internet, won the BAFTA Best Actress this year, has been doing movies since she was nine, wrote songs with–”
“Okay, okay, Frank. I think everyone already knows who YN is.” Mikey cuts him off, making everyone laugh. “Why are you bringing her up by the way? Do you got any snaps from her wedding?”
“Ah, yes. I do!” Jin replied almost immediately as he acts clicking on his camera. The audience squealed, elated to catch a glimpse of whatever he was going to share. The TV screens in the studio glitched, causing confusion to the viewers. “Oh, I think my camera’s broken.”
“Let me see.” Mikey, in character, acted desperate as he reached for the camera. He checked and clicked on it before turning to Jin, “The memory card is not here, man!”
The bit ended with them arguing. NIKI performed two songs for the night. For the closing of the show, you had a graphic shirt on with pants.
“Thank you so much to NIKI!” you began, turning to the singer beside you. You clapped along with the audience. “To Lorne, to the amazing cast and studio crew…. And to my lovely husband,” everyone, including the cast members, cooed. You looked back at him who was standing in line with the cast members. He smiled as he saw your eyes sparkling with joy. You looked back to the front.
“Thank you so much, everyone!”
After the show, you and Jin were photographed together, walking hand in hand, as you enter the afterparty venue. As usual, you were wearing something Versace. You stun everyone with a light-reflecting metallic sparkly mini dress. It literally reflects with the flashes of the cameras pointed at you and your husband. You matched it with silver strappy heels and a small metallic Prada tote bag.
“Congrats, YN!”
You stopped in your tracks and turned your head when you heard that voice. Turning around, you spotted Greg in line with other paparazzi.
“Thanks, Greg!” you winked and Jin also waves at him.
You also posted a photo a day after.
YN and JIN are married *Apparently For Almost Two Years Now*
It’s been a busy week for the whole YNJIN fandom this week!
Just last week’s Saturday, it was announced that YN will be hosting the second show for SNL’s season 49. More than a year after her last public appearance and hiatus. It was later followed by the actress-songwriter appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, in which she talked about her BAFTA win and cleverly announced her marriage. Although she didn’t disclose who’s the lucky guy, happiness was evident on her face as she replied to Jimmy’s questions. The fans were taken in surprise by the news, showering her with lovely congratulatory messages.
And just tonight, during her monologue as the show’s host, YN finally revealed who it was. Surprise, surprise! Joining her on the SNL stage is her longtime rumored lover, JIN. The ‘Still Alive’ actor showed up on stage unexpectedly, causing a loud reaction from the live viewers. SNL cast member Kenan Thompson, who was also in the bit for YN’s monologue, officially introduced the two as husband and wife. The couple shared a liplock to seal the news.
According to the shared statement of the A-lister couple’s publicists, YN and JIN were wed in an intimate ceremony two years ago, last November 2021, in their shared residence in Massachusetts.
It was unclear where or when YN and JIN got engaged or began dating. But all we know was the two initially met for the production of their first movie, Cornelia Street, back in 2016. It was a hit, mainly due to the lead actors’ powerful chemistry, and birthed many supporters for the duo. But the rumors about their relationship began in 2018 when the two were seen hanging out often.
The two never confirmed anything and trolled everyone about it. Even reaching the point where they became Instagram official. YNJIN even made a joke about buzzes about them breaking up when they posted a clip about it before. The two got crazier rumors over the years: living together, cheating (and breaking up again), and the actress writing love songs based on her relationship with JIN.
YN, 28, has previously dated other known names in the industry such as Jordan Fisher, Kim Taehyung, and Niall Horan. Meanwhile, JIN, 31, was more private with his past relationships. But he was formerly linked to model Lee Sung Kyung and briefly to Selena Gomez. The wedded A-listers have worked together in a total of three films: Cornelia Street, Maybe Yes Maybe No, and Lonely People.

Two days, after you publicized your marriage, it was Jin’s birthday. As to keep up with the tradition, you posted a simple greeting on Instagram. You literally just greeted them but you added some photos.
The first pic was taken during your trip together months before the reveal.
The second image is your hand, showing off the engagement ring, while Jin can be seen in the background grinning.
Then, on the third slide, a polaroid picture of you and Jin. It was taken through a selfie. You were grinning as Jin plants a smooch on your cheek. Unbeknownst to everyone, it was taken during your first wedding back in November 2021, in your then-newly bought home in Massachusetts.
And for the fourth one, Jin was seen carrying two babies, both heads turned away from the camera, on each arm. He was sat on a familiar couch with Francheskat resting beside him.
In the last slide, a screenshot of your conversation from a year ago. You did not put any context so the fans are left to think about it.

Thank you to all those who submitted bids and offers, raising a total of $817 dollars for public defenders. Jean Valjean might be fictional, but his situation is all too common. Your donations go to ensure that no one faces a court case that could send them to jail for years without the benefit of legal counsel. In an underfunded field, every dollar counts when it comes to preventing injustice.
$817 is almost DOUBLE what we raised in the last auction, Winter 2021-2022, or in the previous one in Winter 2020-2021. You are all amazing. On a personal level, it was great to come back from a year off (Winter 2022-2023) to so much enthusiasm and so many cool items. The sixteen offers ranged from linocuts to zines to embroidery to bound books. Among the other offers were beautiful art, creative fic and poems, a translation commission, and even an Enjolras gift pack.
I was also moved by how many bidders donated more than their original bid, sometimes even doubling their offer. Not one person defaulted when it came time to get their donations in. People in countries or states that didn't have ways to donate to local public defenders came through with creative solutions, such as donating to legal aid for refugees or sending their donation to groups in another state or country. We had a hiccup with the listed organizations requiring credit cards, but it was resolved by finding a Louisiana public defender group that took Paypal. In the end, every bid came through, and many with extra.
As I'm one person running this in my spare time, I truly appreciate how easy you all have made it for me. It's been years since this Les Mis fandom tradition started, and I hope to keep it going for many more to come. Thank you all for your participation!
The Bishop Myriel Fundraiser will be back in December, and here's my goal: let's try to break 20 offers and $1000 raised next year!

I am so very excited to announce that my Pirate!Jake fic will be coming to you all sometime towards the end of October. I've had this story planned out since December of 2022 and I am so excited that it's finally nearing a point where it's ready to be shared.

“Are you going to kill me?” I whisper, the tremble in my voice obvious.
“You said you did not live here.” He responds instead, dragging me roughly towards the door. I fight to keep my balance as he all but lifts my feet from the floor.
“I do not.”
He stops, grip still tight on my arm. He looks at me, waiting for me to continue, but I refuse to give him the satisfaction. He sighs heavily, eyes rolling backwards at my defiance.
“I do not have time for this. I need something. Now. And your father was the man who had it.”
I weigh my options silently. There is no doubt in my mind that I will most likely be dead before the night is over. There is no mercy in the eyes of this stranger. I can refuse and no doubt he would kill me right here… let me bleed out alone and my body grow cold until it’s found tomorrow morning by an unsuspecting Thomas. Or, I can take him back to that wretched place that I call home and pray that he finds whatever it is that he’s looking for. Maybe then, I could convince him to spare me.
“My father’s things are still in his study. I have not touched them. If he really did possess whatever it is you seek, it would be there.”
Jacob nods once, sheathing his cutlass at last. I sigh in relief.
“And you will take me to it.” It is not a question.
“Yes. I will.”
“And is there anyone there that might get in my way?” He asks, and I shake my head.
“I live alone.”
He hums, and I can feel it as the sound reverberates through his chest.
“I am going to let you go now and you will lead me there." He says lowly. "Try to run…” he whispers, leaning in so close that his lips brush against my ear. “You’ll be dead before you ever realize I've caught you."

Recently I’ve received some asks about events/weeks in the Tolkien fandom, so I thought I’d compile a list of those that I know about. This is not exhaustive, and dates are subject to change by the organizers of these events!

Aki’s P5R fanfic recs! (part 2)
Hi and welcome to another one of my recs posts! As you can see, this is part two: part one of this post can be found HERE and includes fics I bookmarked between April 2019 and December 2020. This second post will deal with everything I bookmarked during 2021 and 2022 (... so yes, part 3 is bound to happen some times in the future)

I won’t report the tags, as it would take too long, so if you’re interested in a fic, please open the link;
Fic recs obviously reflect my tastes and preferences. For example, I love suffering and I don’t like fluff or domestic works, so browse this list knowing that;

MY ONGOING RECS
Again, I don't read a lot of ongoing works (although, admittedly more than in the past) and these are the ones I'm subscribed to that I'm adoring!
The Lovers, Reversed by salexectria, Terra5 (E) | Royalty a/b/o AU | akeshu | series in three parts, ongoing
"A Thief is caught stealing from the Northern King, and is sentenced to death for his crimes. The Alpha Prince intervenes, but at what cost to them both?"
What I love about this AU is the amount of politics and worldbuilding put into it, as well as the uniqueness of double povs who constantly switch from Akira to Goro creating one back and forth that acts literally like poking into their minds. Plus the slow burn and the pining are just on point.

Two one shots featuring one of my absolute flavors of this ship: sad, intense and unhinged

Please let teq bring you through a journey of spot-on characterization and stunning prose that will rewire your brain chemistry completely. Their take on machiavellian Akechi is really good, and the snark Akira spits in this fic is really something I cherish.

"Goro’s first thought when he hits the ground is some combination of the words ‘shit fuck hell fucking bullshit bitch fuck motherfucking hell.’ His next thought is wondering whether Akira Kurusu, senior debut, constant thorn in Goro’s side, and the only person anyone this season seems to talk about, is also trying to land a quad axel at the moment."
I don't know what to tell you, the prose of this one is so witty and funny you just have to read what's published of it as of now!

What can I say, I am really a sucker for time loops and this fic took me by the heart. Tagged as character study and with rights because the characterization here is very interesting!
in the snow globe by aminami (E) | Time travel | shuake | 1 chapter
"It’s your heart,” Joker says like it’s the most obvious thing. “Your desires, your hopes, your fears. I’ll carry them with me always. My little snow globe."
This fic will hurt you so badly but it will be so worth it, I swear. It's just so melancholic and tender and angsty and it carved a place in my heart.

"Ren Amamiya knows he's an alpha, and he's comfortable with that, but he's pretty sure that being an alpha is, well...different for him than it is for other people. He resigned himself a long time ago to the fact that he'd probably go his whole life without finding anyone else like him. And then he meets Goro Akechi."
This fic has such an interesting take on omegaverse! Paired with a stellar characterization and delicious pining, it's no surprise it's a fic I will never forget.

Could you have ever imagined reading a fic centered around the pandemic? Me neither, but this one and its sequel work so well and have very compelling bits of characterization for the boys. Unexpected premise, but I utterly loved it.
straw house, straw dog by caelam (T) | 3rd sem | gen | one shot
"In the saccharine utopia of Maruki’s reality, Goro Akechi’s mother is still alive."
I admittedly don't read too many fics with mamakechi so I won't claim to be an expert, but this one really left me impressed with how clear and tangible the tangle of feelings is.
Knight of Pentacles, King of Spades by Naometry (M) | Medieval AU | shuakeshu | 11 chapters
"“Hifumi passed on your greetings,” Akira Kurusu says, fury simmering beneath his conversational tone. “And I’m polite enough to give you my own in person. So greetings, General Goro Akechi. I am the man who will kill you.”"
I started reading this fic for the war captive trope but this story has so much more to it than just that. Nao's superb skill with writing violence and viciousness will have you thrust into a cruel world where two boys seem to be bound to kill each other... unless?
Ripples by Riona (T) | gen | canon compliant | one shot
"Ten people know exactly who the news is talking about, and now they’re going to have to deal with that."
A peek into the heads of 10 of Joker's confidants upon learning about his death. The fic I would never imagined myself reading, but I did because it was recced to me, and now I'm recc'ing it to you, too.
When Your Eyes Meet Mine by seths_dream (E) | no powers AU | shuake | one shot
"The way the bellboy lingered on him made his heart jolt, made him think that maybe, maybe the bellboy was looking at Goro the same way Goro was looking at him."
I've lost count of how many times I read this fic because the horny is just so juicy, it's unironically one of the fics I come back to when I need to remind myself how to write horny stuff.
(the same author also wrote this delicious pegoryu that you have to read)
a study in what not to say by succubused (T) | 3rd sem | shuake | one shot
"Akira has finally had enough of Akechi's bullshit; they resolve it the only ways they know how."
If you like the boys being really nasty to each other, this fic is a must. It has excellent dialogue, dynamics, and a tad of homoerotic wound tending which can't hurt no one!
MY ALL-TIME FAVOURITES
The fics that rewired my brain chemistry, took my heart out, slapped it, put it back, and left me a whole new person.
27 steps to seduce a crow by relationshipcrimes (G) | Royal | shuakeshu | one shot
"A handy bullet-pointed list on how to flirt with, seduce, and keep your local Akechi Goro."
Still to this day, I think of this fic in terms of Goro's characterization. If I have a thing for post-canon shuake chasing each other, it's probably due to this one.
The Brigverse by TzviaAriella (E but most works are M) | Pirates AU | akeshuake | series, ongoing
I admittedly don't care that much about pirates but the og fic from this series (A Brig Too Far) was being passed on so much that I gave it a try and. Oh boy. Not only is the characterization impeccable, the story compelling, and the action thrilling, but at least one scene and/or line from each work in this series has altered my brain permanently. I am a new person after reading Brigverse.
wild and free by bangandawhimper (E) | a/b/o | shuakeshu | one shot
"Akira Kurusu hasn’t always been an omega. But now everyone he meets in this city assumes he’s an omega. He’s treated like an omega. He feels like an omega. He knows he feels like an omega because he remembers what it was to be an alpha."
This work might have my favourite take ever on shuakeshu omegaverse, it's so fitting for them, so thought out, and the characterization is so on point... my god. Read this fic now.
The Diamond Chest by kinneas (E) | post-Royal | shuakeshu | 3 chapters, complete
"Who says you have to see Morgana speak in the Metaverse before you can hear him in the real world? Not the few hundred officers who arrested Ren in Sae’s Palace two years ago, that’s for sure."
Honestly everything kinnes writes is gold but I'm shouting this fic out because I reread more than a few scenes from this fic more than once, and it's a 100k-words baby. I am a sucker for heist stories, I am a sucker for dealing with trauma in very tangible ways, and I'm a sucker for kinneas' characterization of the boys.

Akira gets stranded on an abandoned spaceship seemingly infested by a terrifying creature. He finds the lonely survivor of the crew and they begrudgingly start to work together to contact help and survive.
I am just going to say that I clicked for salex's name, I stayed for the stellar characterization, pining and top-tier bantering, and got overwhelmed by the tentacle sex. (/pos)
