Meaningful Highlights from Naruto Retsuden:
“Don’t give me that!” A vein popped up on Naruto’s forehead. “Which is more important—the future of the village or my life?!” “Your life,” came Sasuke’s immediate response.
The fact that among the people Naruto wishes could see Konoha in an era of peace includes Zabuza and Haku, because twenty years later, they still live on in his heart.
Yamato and Mitsuki having a strong friendship, where Yamato is the first person Mitsuki greets upon coming home, tells about his missions, and brings strawberry daifuku as a treat, coming full circle for Yamato be an important figure for a child with similar origins.
Naruto reflecting on how grateful he is to be Hokage during peace time: “After Old Lady Tsunade became Hokage, her first job was to treat shinobi injured in battle. When Master Kakashi became Hokage, his was to hold the ceremony commemorating the anniversary of those who died in the Great Ninja War. With the Fourth … I dunno what his first job was, but with the era being what it was, I’m pretty sure he had plenty of unpleasant work [...] And the first thing I did when I became Hokage was give a business license to a traditional sweet shop in the old city. Makes you laugh, right? That’s peace.”
The fact the Sakura says she's going to leave Sarada in the care of someone both her and Sasuke trust, and the reveal that that person is Iruka, who was the first teacher to both of them!
Shikamaru responding to Naruto bowing his head to Team 7 for helping him with, “The Hokage can’t go bowing his head to just anyone.” And Naruto's narration replying: He wasn’t bowing to just anyone. He was bowing to them.
Naruto's response to Sasuke trying to help him at the cost of his own life: If the opposite meant sacrificing Sasuke, then a lifetime of never being able to use chakra was a hundred times better.
Naruto's narration explaining that Team 7 has their own special meet-up spot where they watch fireworks and drink together during festivals and how they make it clear that both Sai and Yamato were invited and welcome!!

If there was anything Konoha did best, it was celebrating.
Compared to many of the other villages, the Leaf had some form of a festival almost every month. The first Sakura trees have blossomed? Celebration. The war is won? Celebration. The Hokage has a birthday? Celebration. 6 months without any outside threats? Celebration.
For the outsiders these constant festivities were both bizzare and a bit foolish. They could only imagine how much money were spend from the yearly budget, yet somehow the village blossomed economically. The other Kages tried to ask Lady Tsunade more than once in the past how exactly do they manage to do that, but they could never get anything more than a smug smile from her.
You, unlike your husband, loved a good party. During events like this everything felt different - the people were happier, the streets were busier, even the air felt more fresh! You have been waiting for the Spring festival for a while now - not only because you loved trying all the delicious street food, but also because this year you were taking your baby with you.
Being only a few months old, your son was an exact copy of Kakashi. His hair, his eyes, his nose, his lips, even the way he pouted was absolutely the same as your partner. There were times when you sat next to his crib, looking at him for hours, trying to find at least one thing in his appearance that he may took after you. While there were none, you found solace in the fact that he showed at least some traits of your personality - the main one being obsessed with Kakashi, of course.
As you watched your husband gently rocking your child in his arms and whispering sweet words to him, you couldn't stop the smile from spreading wide on your lips. Kakashi hasn't noticed your presence by the door yet, too busy booping your baby's nose and listening to his happy laughter.
He was definitely the favourite parent.
"I can't believe I carried him for nine months and I am still the second best in his eyes", you finally said, making Kakashi whip his head in the direction of your voice. He smiled sheepishly at you, his one free arm extending for you to take.
"You know that is not true, my dove", he tried to reassure you, his attention moving back to the bundle of joy who kept twitching in his grip, "No one can replace mommy! Isn’t that right, little man?"
Almost if understanding his words, the baby turned toward you, reaching one of his small hands toward your face. You immediately melted at the gesture, before carefully grabbing it in yours and lying numerous small kisses on his little fingers.
“Do we really have to go?”, your husband groaned, looking at you pleadingly. If it was up to him the three of you would stay in your house, enjoying a cosy evening just playing and goofing around the living room. With his new role as a Hokage, your time together was limited anyway and he liked to grab any chance he got to spend a few hours with you at home.
“You were the one that promised Naruto you would finally let him see the baby”, you cocked one of your eyebrows and Kakashi immediately shut his mouth, knowing he cannot argue further.
Even since you told Team 7 that you are pregnant, Naruto has shown an enormous enthusiasm about welcoming the baby. He self proclaimed himself “the best uncle to ever exist” and has bought dozen of plush toys and clothes before you even found what the gender is. Both you and Kakashi found this amusing, yet cute, promising him that he would be one of the first people to see your son once he is born.
However, things didn't go as planned and since he was on a mission outside Konoha for the last three months and a half, Naruto was now one of the last people to meet your child. Sakura has asked you countless of times during this period to let her and Sasuke come to your house, but feeling it was unfair to Naruto, you refused every single time.
Now that the blonde was back, however, all three were eagerly waiting to meet the young Hatake.
Kakashi gently passed you the baby, while he went to the corridor to grab the baby carrier wrap he liked to use. One thing about your husband was that he absolutely refused to use a pram.
"It is safer for them to be close to me", he often said, not even hiding his overprotectiveness. Despite your baby already being the village's favourite, he only allowed people to watch him, but never touch him or hold him. It was almost like your son was some kind of a rare jewel, which was so delicate, it had to be admired from a far. And while you found Kakashi's behaviour funny, he was being very serious about it, going as far as to glare and hiss a warning at Guy and Genma every time they tried to pinch your baby's chubby cheeks.
Once the little one was safely wrapped against your partner, you both made your way toward the village centre, where you could already hear music sounding. The streets were flooded with both adults and children, who were all eager to try some foreign food and watch special performances. Every year there were entertainers coming from different lands, performing traditional songs and dances from their cultures. While you knew you couldn't stay for all of them, since you had to put your child to bed quite early, you were excited to see at least some.
You felt one of Kakashi's arms wrapping around your waist, pulling you closer to him, while he shielded your son's body with the other one. While there were none real threats or risk for any of you, the amount of people made the man anxious. You were just about to grab his hand and try to make him relax, when Naruto's loud voice sounded from somewhere in front of you.
"Kakashi-sensei! Y/N! Over here!", he waved his hands energetically in the air, while both Sasuke and Sakura looked away embarrassed from his behaviour. Your smiled at the blonde, waving back, while your husband couldn't do anything else than let out a sigh.
Once you were a few meters away, the Uzumaki ran toward you, his whole face lighting up once his eyes met those of your son. He pushed past you, without even paying any attention to you, before leaning his head close to the baby's.
" Kakashi! That's your twin, dattebayo!", he shouted and moved his finger between his sensei and your son. Kakashi flicked his hand away, glaring harshly at his student. You sniffled a laugh, before you felt Sakura's hand on your shoulder. Turning around, you offered a smile to both her and Sasuke.
"Don't touch, step back and only watch from a distance", Kakashi instructed, his eyes narrowing at Naruto. The blonde, however, didn't acknowledge his words in any way, instead turning toward you.
"Can I hold him?", he asked, his blue eyes sparkling.
"No!", Kakashi immediately answered for you and you rolled your eyes at your husband, before moving toward the males.
"Of course you can!", before your husband can protest, you gave him a stare and he reluctantly picked up your son from the carrier wrap. He held him in his hands for a few more seconds, eyeing Naruto with suspicion.
"Be very, very, VERY careful!", he said, while passing the wriggling baby to the boy's stretched out arms, "And make sure to support his head! No, not like that... Naruto, I swear to Kami-"
You cut off the white haired male's rambling by wrapping your arm around his waist and placing your head against his shoulder. The Uzumaki was doing just fine, but Kakashi being Kakashi started to panic just at sight of someone else holding your little treasure.
The baby seemed to like the blonde, as he giggled, stretching his small hand toward his face. Sakura, who has been patiently waiting for her sensei to relax a bit, immediately rushed to her teammate's side, uncapable of controlling herself longer. She wriggled her forefinger in front of the child's face, her heart melting once he caught it.
"Hello, little one! I am auntie Sakura!", the baby grinned at her with its toothless smile and she let out an "aww" sound, before turning to you and your husband, "Kakashi-sensei, he really is your exact copy! Y/N, are you sure that's your child?"
You laughed at her joke, before shrugging your shoulders and pressing yourself closer to Kakashi.
"Trust me, I ask myself that every single day!"
Finally tearing your gaze away from Naruto and Sakura, you looked over to Sasuke, who remained frozen in his place. His eyes were focused on the little baby and there was a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, but unlike his teammates he maintained a safe distance. Feeling someone was watching him, he turned his head in your direction, his cheeks going bright red once he realized you caught him staring.
"Sasuke", you smiled at him and everyone's attention went to the Uchiha, "Do you want to hold him too?"
The dark haired male gulped, his eyes widening. He nervously scratched his shoulder, his gaze going down to his feet.
"I...", he became silent, stealing one more glance at the baby. You found it almost amusing how he was a fearsome ninja that could take dozen of enemies at the same time, yet he felt scared to hold a tiny human.
Looking over at Naruto, you nodded your head, signalling him to pass your son to Sasuke. The blonde let out a huff, dragging his feet toward his teammate.
"Be careful! And hold the head!", he warned the Uchiha, who rolled his eyes in response.
"I know how to hold a baby, dobe! I am not stupid!"
"Language!", Kakashi warned next to you and you looked up at him, only for him to shake his head. It must've been hard dealing with these two for so many years, yet you knew your husband wouldn't had it any other way.
At this moment, surrounded by so much love and happiness, you felt like you finally had everything you wanted in life - an amazing husband, a healthy child and enormous support by anyone around you. If you could choose to re-live only one moment of your life, it would be this.
"You okay, my dove?", Kakashi whispered and you nodded your head, laying a small kiss on his covered chin.
"Never been better."
Unbeknown to you, all of Team 7 smiled at both of you, admiring how happy their sensei was. After decades of suffering and loss, Kakashi took the leap of faith and opened his heart to you. While he was unsure in the beginning if he was ready to be with someone and have a family, looking back he was glad he did.
Pulling down his mask, he laid a soft kiss on your forehead, before nuzzling his nose against it.
"I love you."
"I love you more."

You were born to be best friends. At least, that’s what each of your parents had in mind. When Hae Uchiha told Mikoto that she was once again pregnant, the latter practically jumped for joy. She was a few months along with another boy, and she imagined your mother’s next child would make a perfect pal for her second born. Itachi and Shisui got along famously, the two borderline inseparable.
Mikoto extended her hand to cover Hae’s not-yet showing stomach. “How far along?” She asked with a warm smile on her lips.
Hae closed her eyes and returned the same embraceful grin. “Just a few months, she should be born soon after your boy!”
“She! How exciting, I’m sure Sasuke will protect her for her whole life! Have you decided on a name yet?”
“Y/N…I always dreamed of naming my daughter Y/N.”
Mikoto returns her hand to her own stomach, her bump showing through. “That’s beautiful, Sasuke and Y/N…yes, they’ll be another version of our Itachi and Shisui!”
Hae beamed, knowing that her daughter would have a forever ally.
Well, she had hoped, anyway.
Nonetheless, you and Sasuke never spoke. He went out of his way to stay out of your path and you did the same for him. Truth be told, there was a great reason. There was hurt, and anger, and most forcefully, the fear, and what you had to do to hide.
You had been friends, once. Just like your mothers had wanted, from birth, the two of you became inseparable. Where Shisui was a few years older than Itachi, feeling like an older brother to two now; Sasuke was only a few months your senior, making the two of you closer than even your own siblings.
Make no mistake, Shisui’s love for his younger sister was widely known and highly regarded. One might mistake you as his own daughter, if he wasn’t just nine years old. You were a much anticipated gift to the boy, he had been begging for a sibling for years. And his parents tried and tried to fulfill this wish, overjoyed when it came true. You truly were the pride of your branch, as hard as it may be to believe with Shisui’s reputation. Itachi was always kind, about six years older than you. Itachi would often babysit the two of you, being the perfectly responsible young man he was. Itachi was just happy to see Sasuke happy, and bonus points for you as well. He seemed oddly relieved that Sasuke had someone to grow attached to.
So you were, for about six years. You learned to walk together, he learned how to spell your name before he learned to spell his own, you refused to take naps without him. Once, Shisui and Itachi built little tricycles for the two of you, Sasuke’s purple and yours green. You rode those tricycles all over the village, laughing in the hot Konoha sun. You would traverse to the mountains and collect fruits to bring back for your mother to bake into sweet pastries. It was magical, it was perfect. Until that infamous night.
That fateful night, the night that tore apart mind and soul, body and spirit. You thought it couldn’t get any worse. A hole had been left behind when Shisui died, something irreparable and ever painful. You couldn’t call it a void, for it was too powerful. It was nearly two years ago now, your tiny body and soul already weighed down with his loss. It created a rift between you and Sasuke, too. Itachi was blamed for his death for a while, and it hurt even more to feel so alone. You felt like you were drowning and no one was there to pull you back up, no one to even notice you slipping away…
You had grown numb to the life that was without Shisui and Sasuke, you went to training and classes like you were supposed to. You did what you were told at home, your parents just as much a shell of themselves as you were. Everything that was colorvision faded to dull grays and empty blacks. Where you once saw beauty, you saw injustice. Where there was once love there was now ugly pain that had rooted, hatred growing in its place. Hatred for who? For Shisui, for dying? For Sasuke, for letting rumors pull you apart? For the forces of the universe that caused it all to begin with? You weren’t quite sure, maybe it was a mixture of all three.
When you came home that evening, it took you a moment to realize. The house had been quiet since Shisui passed, there was simply no joy without him. Yet still, you were used to the sound of your father’s footsteps shuffling through the kitchen, the clink of dishes. The sound of your mother turning pages in her book–everything was silent. Eerily so. A dread washed over you, familiar with the haunting ache. What was left of your heart sank in your stomach as you realize there was blood on the walls. Your breathing became rapid and shaky, you crept down the hall, hoping it was some cruel joke from the village or–or maybe it was paint!
There was no humor in what laid before you that night. Your parents lay slumped over, almost like they were sleeping. Kagami laid propped up against the wall, seated perfectly on the floor with his head tucked into his chest. Your mother’s head lay in his lap, her torso twisted at an awkward angle, legs sprawled.
Tears cloud your vision immediately. You could feel your knees wobble and buckle, seemingly too heavy for yourself all of a sudden. You fell forward, hands and knees catching you and making a sickening squelch. You realize the stickiness soaking into your skirt was blood, the dark red blood of your parents. You scream. It’s more of a wail, your entire body wracked with emotion so strong, your eyes begin to burn. It hurts, it gives you a headache, and when you force your eyes open again, the world looks different. It felt…slower. You can see a glistening trail of what you can identify as chakra, it glows all over the house, coming in through a window and leaving through the front door. This had happened before, when Shisui died. Your sharingan was activated for the first time. This was different, it felt like a new level. You pull yourself up, running at the door. You throw it open and run into the street, tracking the chakra house to house where you only find more slumped over bodies. The entire clan, everyone…they’re gone. They’ve been slaughtered, every last one. You can’t bear it when the chakra trail leads you down Sasuke’s path, knowing you would find the last of your home in there. You never got to make amends, never got to reunite. Sasuke would be dead, just like everyone else you ever cared for.
You’re stopped in your tracks when you see a figure in the street, you notice glowing red eyes, the pattern so familiar you couldn’t help but gasp. “I-itachi?” Your chin wobbled, the tears coming back as you ran closer, relieved to find someone alive, someone you know.
“Back away, child.” His voice thundered, it chilled you to the bone. He had never spoken to you like that.
“Itachi, it’s m-me! Y/N, you know me! I-I’m scared Itachi!” You plead with him, the new vision of yours highlighting the blood on his clothes the closer you got to him.
“The second tomoe..” He revered, a nod of approval following, just as quick as it came, the familiarity left. He was icy again when he spoke, “You should be scared. You’ve realized what I’m capable of.”
You fall back, astonished. This couldn’t have been, no, you refuse to believe such a thing. Itachi wasn’t…capable of this? He looked as if he was going to speak again, but another figure moving rapidly towards you grabbed his attention. It was Sasuke, alive after all.
“I don’t believe it!” Sasuke said, tears streamed down his face, “This is too unlike you, Big Brother. I mean…” He looked around wildly, finding solace in your presence, relief. You couldn’t help the tears, the same relief he had coursing through your own mind. Itachi had spared you both, but why?
“You have the potential to become my opponent.” He directed his voice to his younger brother, ignoring you completely for the time being. “You are someone who could be able to use Mangekyo Sharingan just like me…” The wind blew ceremoniously, whipping up leaves from the ground and sacrificing them to the sky, to the full moon that was the only light to go by. “However, on one condition…that you must kill your closest friend..Just like I did.” His gaze flickers to you then, making Sasuke’s eyes widen.
Sasuke gasps, as do you. Itachi really did kill Shisui. He has now killed your entire family. Your brother, his best friend, died senselessly to the little brother he never had. You were wrecked, this realization makes your head spin, the boy you’ve known since birth…Itachi Uchiha was a cold blooded killer, and your life was forever destroyed because of him.
“That was…your doing?” Sasuke’s brows knit together in shock and confusion. “Big Brother, you…killed Shisui?”
“That’s right…and because of that I obtained these eyes.” Itachi replied stone-faced. As if you needed the confirmation, but hearing the words from his very mouth absolutely ruined whatever remained of your soul. You felt your eyes burn once again, the vision skewing, leaving you momentarily blind before you blinked and everything was clear again. It was clearer than before, you could sense the movements of two brothers before they did them, this shouldn’t be possible. You had just awoken your second tomoe minutes earlier, had you already gained the third through this extreme emotional distress? There was rigorous training involved to level up your eyes, you could feel the drain it put on your body as it began to sway in the wind, feeling light. You couldn’t hold on much longer, you knew that, but you were in danger…and so was Sasuke, you had to fight for consciousness.
“If you attain these eyes, you will become the third person including myself to utilize the Mangekyo Sharingan. However,” He turns abruptly, startling you both. “Neither of you are worth killing. And one day, Sasuke, when you have the same eyes I do…come and stand before me!” Itachi challenges, his eyes swirling into his familiar triangular pattern.
“And you…” Itachi says, beckoning you forward with the point of his finger. “Come here, child.” He says, issuing an order. Sasuke makes a strangled struggling noise before he falls to the ground, the emotional distress leveling his eyes too fast as well. He was in a genjutsu, you realize, by the sounds he was making on the ground, crying out in agony.
“Let him out of that! I’ll go with you, I won’t fight. Let him out.” You plead, not in the position to make any demands yourself. Even fighting wouldn’t get you out of this, Itachi was far too powerful, you could never hope to escape.
Itachi chuckled dryly and shook his head. “No. He needs this. He will foster hatred and turn it into immense power. You…you have to be hidden.” He says, his voice in a dream-like state. He was thinking deeply, wondering what he should reveal to you. Enough to keep you alive, and nothing more. “You will stay away from Sasuke…until it’s time. No one can know your identity. It’s imperative you understand this, child.” He says, and if you didn’t know any better you would think he was panicked. Itachi kept calling you that, child, as if he were not. He was only 14, but he clearly felt much older.
You were confused, but didn’t even know where to start asking him questions. He didn’t wait for a response, just sweeping you up in his arms and jumping from rooftop to rooftop until he was in the trees with you, Sasuke long abandoned on the outskirts of the village. Itachi was taking you somewhere, apparently to be hidden. “Itachi-san–please, I’m scared, I don’t understand!”
“You need to be scared! You have to understand. Force yourself to. They can’t know that I left you alive, they know Sasuke will live…they can’t know that you do as well…it would be most troublesome…” Itachi explains without explaining a single thing. Who are “they”, and what involvement do they have in this? “A male and a female Uchiha could save the clan, they will not let that happen. I owe this to Shisui.” Itachi says quietly, dropping down in front of someone’s door.
A man opens the door before Itachi can make a single noise. He was waiting for Itachi, you realize.
“Here she is.. Train her to be strong, stronger than you. Keep them apart, keep them safe.” Itachi pleads, or as close to it as he can get. He sets you down, letting you see your new caretaker for the first time.
“I understand, Itachi. It’s best if you get a move on, they’ll be on your scent soon.” The taller man says, the cover of the night obscuring your vision of him.
Itachi nods, taking one last look at you with a trace of pain in his eyes. You look down at your feet, not sure what to make of the situation, everything happened so fast. “Thank you, Captain.” Itachi says with a curt nod before disappearing into a puff of smoke.
It was silent. The wind blew again, whipping your hair into your face and pushing the clouds across the moon like it was a normal night. You begin to cry, everything so overwhelming you couldn’t help but do anything else. You’ve lost everything. Your family is dead, every single one. You, the sole survivor, have been placed with a stranger by the very man that murdered everyone you love. The last person alive that you care for is trapped in a genjutsu, lying on the pavement outside the house of his murdered family.
The man crouched down to be on your level. He looked young, but you couldn’t really tell. His face was mostly covered, his shinobi headband covering his left eye and a black mask pulled over the lower half of his face. The most notable thing about him was his tall and spiky gray hair. His one brown eye looked at you sadly, and at once you knew he understood. You felt more at ease nearly immediately. You were still wary, after all he seemingly knew what was going on and had worked with Itachi. But the look in his eye and the expressive way he puts his hands on either arm of yours makes you feel safer. He knew sadness too, you recognized it in him.
“Hello, little one. I know this has been…a horrible night, to understate…but you’re strong. You’re safe now, I’m Kakashi, and I’ll make sure of that.” He nodded determinedly, searching your expression for your next move. He frowns under his mask as you cry, unsure of how to console a young girl at his age of twenty two years.
“What’s wrong with your face?” You ask, sniffling out your sentences and wiping viciously at your eyes. Your mind was all over the place, you didn’t want to think of this night anymore but the only other thing you could ponder was why the man in front of you dressed like that.
He chuckled earnestly. “Oh!” He pushed his headband up to reveal a long scar running lengthwise over his eye and down his cheek to where the mask starts, but most strikingly a sharingan sat in the eye he kept covered. The sharingan consumes a massive amount of chakra for non-Uchiha wielders, so you gather that the eye was given or stolen almost immediately.
“That’s partially why he left you with me. I can help with some of your training. You’re in luck, little one. The Hokage has just released me to be a jonin Sensei. So you’ll get first class training living with me. I…I know I can’t replace what you’ve lost, or hell..even understand what you’re going through.” Kakashi slipped his mask down just for you in this moment, wanting to earn the trust of his new foster child. “I will protect you and make you strong, smart, and ready for this world. It’s you and me now. I set up a room for you..” he adds rather sheepishly, sliding his mask back up after a nervous smile. “We can..make changes to it as time goes on, I wasn’t sure what would best be suitable for a girl of your age.”
You blink at him, eyes still bleary from leftover tears. You wipe at your eyes, your own sharingan taking in his full appearance and making a mental note. His half-baked motivational speech was partly moving, and you could tell he was genuine in this. You tilt your head to the side to analyze him further. He was young, taking on a six year old at his age was surely difficult. He was nervous, you could see that much, but his chakra was powerful and in a way, calming.
“What about Sasuke?” You managed as he opened the door to his place.
Kakashi sighs. “He will be taken care of, don’t worry. We have to keep you separate for now, it’s for the best. When you start school it may be different. Do you remember what Itachi said?” He asks, partly wondering what all the boy even told you.
You nod. “He said they can’t know he left me alive. I don’t know who they are though.” You say, feeling everything all the time all at once. Pain, numbness, sadness, fear, nervousness and wonder. Your eyes were wide and your sharingan kept glowing, a red beacon in the dark night. You looked inside the home, small and neat. It looked like…a real place, which surprised you for some reason. With the night’s events it was becoming difficult to predict what would happen next, in your mind he was going to open the door to a slaughterhouse or some medical lab for testing. You were relieved to see it was a completely normal apartment. The young man led you to a decently sized bedroom right across the hall from the bathroom. It was decorated haphazardly, pink cherry blossom wallpaper was slapped on the wall, a little bed covered up with pink blankets sat in the middle of the room. There was even a closet outfitted with a few changes of clothes, luckily regularly colored. It was a nice effort, you recognized. It was natural for any young man to assume a six year old girl would love pink. Your favorite was green. It reminded you of rolling down hills and the bushes you would pluck fruit from, the trees the sun peeked over, the tricycle your brother built…and Sasuke’s was purple.
“I hate pink.” You say solemnly, feeling bad almost immediately, he had tried to think of your comfort and here you were, being rude. “B-but it looks nice! Thank you…” You looked to him a bit confused on how you should address him.
“Kakashi, that’s fine for now.” He rubbed the back of his head nervously, feeling a bit embarrassed for giving you a stereotypical girl room. It was clear that there was nothing to be assumed about you. “What color do you prefer, in that case? I can work on a replacement tomorrow.” Kakashi offered with a closed-eyed smile.
“Purple.”
Tumblr media
Kakashi followed through on his promise. The next time you went into your room, the walls were painted a deep plum, the covers that decorate your bed were as purple as the evening sky after the sun had left, and on a table you noticed a few more trinkets and accessories. There were hair ties and clips, little earrings and a purple headband. He heard the word purple and ran with it. Kakashi wasn’t sure why he displayed all this effort, well he had an idea.
He had knocked against your open door, just to alert you to his standing there. You still looked so sad. It had only been a day after all. At least you had stopped crying, he would happily take the progress. He leaned against the doorway, arms folded over his chest. “I hope some of those things make you feel a little more at home, Kurenai helped me pick them out…” He mentioned, once again, scratching at the back of his head nervously. That was his nervous tick, you noted.
“Thank you, they’re pretty..” You say with a small smile, reaching for the headband and slipping it over the long black locks signature of your clan, luckily it was also a common characteristic of the citizens of the Stone village. That’s the story, anyway. Kakashi found you on a mission while in Iwagakure. You were newly orphaned, and had no one else to take you in. Which, now that you think about it, isn’t much of a lie at all. You were new to the Leaf village, and Kakashi was your young and kind foster father. It gave him a reason to change, and he didn’t know if he liked that yet; he did know that he wanted you to grow into a powerful kunoichi, and he had no doubt you could accomplish that.
He cleared his throat. “You know, Y/N…I..” He hesitated, wondering if it was worth mentioning at this moment. He sighed out and continued. “I lost my father when I was six, as well. I don’t pretend to know everything you feel, but I do understand some of your pain. You can talk to me, when or if you ever want to. I’ll listen.”
You look to your feet, the tears pooling in your eyes again. His kindness was overwhelming at times, you hadn’t expected him to be so warm. He just retired from the Anbu after all, and you were old enough to know what that meant. You nod your head after a minute, picking up a purple fuzzy stress ball. You squeeze down, finding it helps temporarily.
“Mhm, I will..thank you for being here.” You mutter out after a few beats.
“A-Alright. We’ll go out for dinner around 7. I’ll come get you.” Kakashi hummed pleasantly, touched by your gratefulness.
You were thankful that you wound up with someone like Kakashi. Last you’d heard, Sasuke was set up in a nice apartment, well taken care of and monitored by Lord Third himself. But he was alone, and that worried you. He was sure to become a cold shadow of the former joyous boy he had been, just as you are. But even you had another person around, someone to at least distract you from the constant pain. Sasuke didn’t have that, he didn’t even know if you were alive. The last thing he saw was his older brother sweeping you up and leaving with you.
The purple made you feel better. It helped you feel just a little closer to where he was. You hoped he would make friends with the kids in his building, if there was any. You hoped he could power through and find happiness in the little things. Would he try to remember you? Find you, even? Your heart ached, you physically covered it with your hand and winced.
You decided you hate Itachi. That you would do everything and anything it took to get to him and kill him. You came from a powerful line of the clan too, Shisui was a prodigy and the youngest to ever awaken his sharingan before you did it at four from his death. You committed, promised yourself in Kakashi’s apartment that you would train until your eyes bled, you would master genjutsu just as Shisui had, you would master chakra control. You would learn everything Shisui had mastered, and you would kill Itachi the same way he had killed your brother.
Little did you know that Sasuke had made himself the same promise. He would avenge his family, your brother in your honor, he would become a worthy opponent and he would use Mangekyo to kill the man that had caused all this pain.
He was beyond lonely, there was no word to describe the hell he was living. He relived his parents’ death again and again, trapped in a genjutsu by his older brother. But the nightmare was reality. He had no one, everything was destroyed. The only person left was missing at best, dead at the worst. Even once he was released from the genjutsu’s chakra control, the only thing burned into his eyelids was the scene of his parents' slaughter. The only thing he can hear is the sound of your tears as Itachi admits to killing your brother, it’s miserable.
Why did Itachi spare them both, did he really just want to fight? Well, Sasuke could give him that. He couldn’t wait to start the academy, to refine his talents and find a rival and friend that could fulfill his needs for the Mangekyo Sharingan his brother wants him to have so badly. There wasn’t a reality that existed where he would kill you for it, as his brother insinuated. He was sure that his new friends would suffice, when the time came.
Tumblr media
Kakashi had arranged for him to proctor your bypass exam the following year. The rules for the Academy aren’t concrete, and you were a prodigy after all. Kakashi stressed your physical prowess and shadow clone jutsu to get you through the Academy in just one year, passing your genin exam easily.
Over time, your numbness had resided. You found yourself motivated by revenge and desire for rebuilding what was taken from you. Kakashi was a friend and mentor, and he helped you train your eyes and genjutsu regularly. He had to, as you weren’t allowed to display this power outside of the training grounds with no one else around. You had to train harder over the next few years, both your sharingan abilities and those you would use to cover your identity.
Kakashi and yourself had landed on a plant style jutsu, where you could summon different plants, both poisonous and strangling variations. It reminded many of Hashirama Senju’s wood style jutsu. Your chakra control was impressive, and your inclination toward medical nin was just another tool in your arsenal. You owe most of this to your mentor, who, so far, has followed through on his promise to make you as strong as he can.
He was impressed by you, a prodigy indeed. It was no surprise you were Shisui’s younger sister. He wondered how you could have absorbed so much from him since he passed when you were so young, now a girl of twelve. He can’t believe he’s had you in his charge for six years now, and how you’ve grown in that time. He cared for you like his own child, even though he was not much older than a kid himself when he decided to take you in.
It was hard work, especially now. He had been assigned as Sasuke’s sensei, along with two other promising shinobi. He was splitting most of his time between his new team and the child he’s been training for years. He found it hard to hand you over to Kurenai, even though the woman was somewhat familiar with your delicate case. She didn’t know your true identity, as Kakashi would never risk that knowledge to anyone, but she had helped Kakashi with the more delicate matters of your girlhood your entire life. He had kept you in his own training since you graduated the academy, it was time for you to join a team and attempt the chunin exams. He knows you’ll pass easily, so why is it that he’s so nervous?
Because he knows the days of keeping you and Sasuke apart are over. He knew he wouldn’t be able to prevent it forever, but he wasn’t ready for you to revisit that time in your mind. He didn’t wan your hard work to crumble once you faced your old friend again, under the guise of an adopted Hatake. Would Sasuke call you out immediately? He hadn’t been given the same warnings to stay away, as far as Kakashi knew. The boy was angry, and he was boiling over with immense talent. He had been working with the boy on chidori and other sharingan practices that he had once done with you.  Kakashi knew that there was nothing he could do to prevent Sasuke from seeking revenge, and it bothered him…deep down inside he knew you were the same way, your anger tamed to your own mind. You were quiet all the time, your chakra a lime green–just a few shades lighter than your brothers. He could feel your emotions and recklessness bubble inside you. It was just a matter of time, but the seasoned shinobi worried what would come of the girl once she was faced with the Lone Uchiha, and what would come of him when he saw her.
Tumblr media
You were first. The beginning match was you against a girl named TenTen. You thought she looked silly. Ridiculous, almost. Her speciality was weapons, you heard her talking about it as all the chunin hopefuls piled into the colosseum type building. As far as you could tell, she had no special control of chakra or any impressive jutsu. This would be over quickly.
The two of you stepped forward, the sound of your first name making Sasuke’s heart stop. He looked over at the scene, brows knitting together in confusion. His teammates, Naruto and Sakura started whispering about the match. But they truly don’t know how to whisper, Sasuke tuning into their every word. Y/N? Hatake…? It looked like you, at least close to what he could remember. But you were definitely an Uchiha, and surely he would have known if you were living in the village this whole time?
“Kakashi Sensei’s daughter?” Naruto asked with a sense of disbelief. “I didn’t know Kakashi Sensei had a family!” He adds.
Sakura slaps him lightly on the arm. “He rescued her from the Stone! She was six when her parents died and the villagers were just too busy to take care of her, that’s what I heard.”
Sasuke arched his brow in curiosity. Kakashi really hadn’t mentioned you, and the way you walked around the battle ring piqued his interest. You were confident, cocky even. You let TenTen throw a few exploding kunai at you, easily outjumping them. You weren’t using sharingan, he noted, but there was no mistaking that smirk. That truly hadn’t changed a bit, your features easily identifiable to him. It seems like Kakashi attempted bleaching your hair at one point, but it had grown out now. You had dark black roots, your eyes big and dark brown. It was you, there was no argument to be made otherwise. You chuckled at TenTen, making her scrunch her nose up in anger. She charged at you with another kunai. You grasped her wrist, quickly turning it and making her drop the weapon, kicking her hard in the stomach, sending her flying through the air.
The crowd gasped, knowing the other girl would be seriously hurt if she landed on the hard ground from that height, the power of your chakra control something to be feared. You closed your eyes and weaved a hand sign. Out of nowhere, a giant lilypad caught TenTen, keeping her from serious harm. As the crowd sighed with relief, everyone watched more vines burst free from the ground, tying the opponent to the lilypad without any fuss.
Needless to say, you won the match effortlessly. Kakashi took a deep breath of relief, wandering over to his own team of hopefuls.
Sasuke stared at you, watching you help TenTen out of the plant trap once the winner was announced. He didn’t even notice Kakashi coming up behind them.
“Certainly an exciting first match!” Their sensei said with delight, as if he didn’t know anything about you and was just as surprised as everyone else.
Naruto nodded with widened eyes before remembering that Kakashi hadn’t mentioned being a father. “Hey, Kakashi Sensei, how come you didn’t tell us you adopted that girl?”
Sasuke tore his studying gaze away from you to hear the answer to this.
Kakashi shrugged. “It never came up, of course. My job is to train you as shinobi, not teach you my life story.” He replied coolly, as if they were unreasonable for wondering.
Sasuke narrowed his gaze at Kakashi, identifying that there was more to the story. There was something he was missing, why would they change your name and try to hide your hair? Why would Kakashi be involved? He needs to find you and ask you himself, because he clearly wasn’t getting anywhere with his sensei.
But how could he be certain you would talk to him? The last memory you share is his brother basically saying he kept you alive so that he could kill you later. Maybe you were trying to distance yourself from him specifically. Maybe you didn’t know he was here just as much as he didn’t know you were. It was his turn to fight next, but he planned to track you down after the battle was quickly won. You beat TenTen in 18 seconds, his goal was to beat that time. Then he would just have to make you understand that he wasn’t a threat to you.
He beat your time by six seconds, dismantling Choji Akimichi in 12. You smiled to yourself as you watched him, he was very good. Just as you hoped. It would always hurt to stay apart, you realized then. He surely recognized you from your fight, so now you had to work to keep him away. Just as the battle was wrapping up, you pushed through the crowds, getting stopped by some of the girls your age. You had briefly talked to some of them, but you didn’t care to now. You had to get away, distance yourself. He would surely come looking for you.
“Y/N-chan! Who do you think the hottest boy here is?” Ino asks, a beautiful blond girl with a ditsy grin.
You roll your eyes at the question. “Really, that’s what you’re worried about right now?” You ask, confused by her priorities. You turn your head, noticing people parting a little down the way, knowing what that means you turn back to the girl.
Ino giggles and nods. “I’m a great multi-tasker! I know all the girls are dying to get closer to Sasuke Uchiha!” She purrs, cheeks turning red at the mention of his name.
You sigh, with forced disgust you groan. “I for one don’t want to be anywhere near Sasuke Uchiha.” You say, folding your arms and walking onwards, hoping the digging comment would keep Sasuke at arms length.
You should know better than to think yourself lucky. You feel a weight on your shoulder, keeping you from getting away.
“Why would you say that?” He asked, voice on the quiet side as he stared at your back. Your hair was wavier than it was when you were younger, or maybe it was just because it was so long.
You scoff. “I don’t owe you anything.”
It was his turn to scoff. “Y/N Hatake?” He practically hisses at you. “I think you owe it to me to explain why you’re not using your sharingan.”
You turn and clap your hand down over his mouth. Your eyes are wide with a frenzied type of fear, searching around to make sure no one heard him. “Don’t say that. You don’t understand.”
He pushed you off him easily, looking at you with a mix of frustration and confusion. “No I don’t understand because no one tells me anything! I didn’t even know you were in the village!” He says angrily.
You bite the inside of your lip, debating your options. Maybe it would be easier to explain it all, maybe if he could understand why this was happening he could play his role and you could both stay safe. You know that would help put Kakashi at ease.
“Come with me.” You order pointedly, walking out of the building with the knowledge that you had at least twenty minutes until your next battle. You keep walking, far away from the building or any people.
Sasuke follows you into the treeline, mind racing. He didn’t know what to expect. He eyes you with his sharingan, noticing your abundance of chakra and power. He blinks his doujutsu away.
“Now.” He orders expectantly, folding his arms over his chest.
“I don’t know why…” You admit with a shrug, thinking back to what Itachi said that night, both about Mangekyo and how important it is to keep away from Sasuke. “But when Itachi took me away, he said ‘they’ couldn’t know that he spared me, that it was dangerous to have a male and a female. He said it was imperative for us to stay away from each other, “until it is time.” I’m not sure what that means, really. But Kakashi agrees…there’s more to this that I don’t even know.” You explain cautiously, your eyes trained on the boy in front of you. He hadn’t changed much, except for the most striking thing. His features were haunted by grief, the once happy and smiling eyes turned cold and empty. You wonder if he thinks the same of you.
“I would never hurt you.” He says simply, a hint of annoyance laced through it.
You blink at him a few times, unsure of how to respond. “I’m not scared of you.” You clarify for him, looking at a spot on the ground. “I’m scared of the ‘they’ Itachi was worried about.”
He considers this, looking at the same spot on the ground that you are, as if there were hidden answers stored there. “So that’s why Kakashi Sensei never mentioned you, then. He doesn’t want me around you.” He determines, the annoyance gone and replaced with a hint of sorrow.
“It’s not a personal grudge, he knows how hard it’s been on me…” You defend softly, the corners of your lips dropping. “Until we know who I’m hiding from, I have to stay under cover like this. I’m sorry..”
His body tensed with anger, you could tell he was close to snapping. “I want revenge, I swear I’ll kill him, I’ll kill him for what he did to me, what he did to you!” He announces, eyes teeming with tears of anger. “We can get revenge together, we can find and destroy those that caused this, and you can live as an Uchiha, like you’re supposed to! You can’t be a kunoichi without your sharingan!”
You sympathize with his pain, after all, you feel the same way. His offer of revenge sounds nice, so you nod. “When the day comes where we are ready to seek revenge, I’ll accompany you.” You say, envisioning the two of you as jounin, ready to track Itachi down.
He smiles when he hears this. “Until then.” He says, taking another look at you. If he wasn’t so damned angry, his heart would be relieved to see your familiar face, just a few years older. You were utterly unchanged, even the grief written into your face seemed to disappear when you smiled. He would keep his distance like you requested, until it was time to enact revenge.
You wait for Sasuke to disappear back into the treeline before you begin to walk back to the arena. It would be your turn soon, and you intend to impress–without your sharingan–just to prove how powerful you really can be.
By the end of your second match against Sakura, the crowd of other expecting chunin whispered amongst themselves. It really wasn’t her fault, she was like the others. She was completely unfocused on being strong, only desiring to look desirable. It’s a shame, you hoped she would change after this. Your Venus Flytrap jutsu was too much against any opponent, she was just its latest victim. Your giant flower sprouts from the ground and grabs the unsuspecting opponent in its teeth, releasing venom on your command. You wouldn’t take it that far unless you wished to kill. You make a few hand signs, “Release!” You call, letting Sakura tumble from the mouth of your monstrous flytrap.
Still the crowd spoke of your victories, all quick and painless. You were surely impressive, and it was no wonder you graduated to genin in a year, just like your adoptive father. “You can tell she’s trained by Kakashi Sensei.” Someone said as you walked past, shaking their head in wonder.
“She’ll be another heartless Anbu member in no time, just like her dad.” Someone else declared, linking your emotionless victories back to Kakashi’s vicious streak. You wanted to lash out in his defense, but maybe it’s better if they thought that of you. It’s good for them to compare you, as if you were related the whole time. It kept them from thinking anything was off, so you’d take it for now.
Sasuke was thoroughly impressed with your abilities, though he’d likely never say so aloud. Naruto was also occupying his mind as his rival was also the other popular subject amongst his classmates. Naruto won all of his battles that day, all his classmates plus the mysterious Y/N Hatake made it to chunin.
Tumblr media
Things only spiraled from that day. Kakashi relaxed a little when you told him that Sasuke understood why you needed to keep your distance. He didn’t mind for his team to interact with you as much now, but Sasuke did.
He hated being close to you while not being able to be close to you. That annoying Naruto was quickly becoming a close friend to you, leaving Sakura to obsess over him. Needless to say he hated everything about that arrangement. He didn’t want Naruto near you in the slightest, and he hated pathetic girls like Sakura. He hated everyone, no one seemed to understand. He was training for a real goal, meanwhile the others just wanted to be cool. He wanted more, he needed more. He would never relinquish this goal. He would never admit that Naruto was stronger than him, even if it meant he had to leave to become stronger.
You told him that you would go with him, right? That when the day came, when he was ready to seek revenge, you would go with him. That’s what you said. So Sasuke was loud about his plans, he didn’t care to put Naruto down when he tried to stop him from leaving that day.
Even when Kakashi explained to him that revenge was not all he thinks it is, he was undeterred. The emotions swirling inside him, the life that was stolen away…he had to get that back. And if Kakashi wouldn’t help him do it, then he would find someone who will.
Sakura tried to stop him too, right on the edge of the village. The two of you sprinted there when you heard, Sakura a mess of tears, you a mess of nerves and emotion.
You watched with your mouth agape as Sakura begged him not to go, only met with fierce rebuttals and disapproval from the Lone Uchiha. She even offered to go with him, which evoked a warped laugh from the dark haired boy.
He was different. Completely consumed by his grief and desire for justice. He wasn’t thinking properly, and your heart dropped when you saw several shinobi from a different village drop from the trees. They’re here as escorts?
“Sasuke!” You shout in disappointment. “You’ll make yourself an enemy of the Leaf, just settle down and think about this for a minute, please!” You step forward, past Sakura and her unyielding tears.
He chuckled with mirth. “This is all I can think about, Y/N. I refuse to let Sakura join me on this, she’ll just ruin her name.” He groaned, appearing behind the girl and knocking her out in a swift motion, laying her body on a bench. You eye him in disbelief. He was serious about this. You didn’t doubt your ability to stop him by force, excepting the three or four sound village ninja that would surely interfere.
He looks at you with a crazed glint in his eyes. He holds out his hand to you. “Are you ready to go?”
You look from his hand and then back to him, shaking your head in shock. It’s that curse mark, you think to yourself. This isn’t him, he just needs to see that. “Sasuke, you’re being controlled. You’re not thinking clearly.”
His mouth drops open in surprise. “Oh on the contrary, dear Y/N. I’m thinking clearly for the first time!” He protests, staring at you with disgust. “You told me you wanted revenge too, you told me you’d join me!”
“I thought you meant when we were finished training! As Jounin! I didn’t think you meant defecting!” You defend yourself, thinking of Naruto’s heartbreak once he discovered that he wasn’t able to keep Sasuke.
“Pathetic.” Sasuke hissed, shaking his head at you. “You’re weak. That’s why you can’t bring yourself to leave. You know you can’t take revenge, I wouldn’t want you weighing me down anyway.” He spat, his words cut like a knife.
“Please don’t do this. They’ll send people after you! You can’t do this by yourself..” You plead desperately, hoping against all hope that you could get to the friend you once held so dearly.
“Watch me.” He says, casting one last disappointed glare over his shoulder before walking to the shinobi waiting to guide him away.
You watch him leave, the figures disappearing into the trees without a trace. You didn’t even notice the tears begin to roll down your face, nor did you hear Naruto and Kakashi land on either side of your body.
“Wh-what just happened, Y/N-chan?” Naruto asked innocently, trying to delude himself against the truth before he even heard it.
“Sasuke left the Leaf.” You reply, eyes fixated on the spot he last occupied in front of you. He was bound to be tracked down or hurt by someone dangerous before he could come to his senses. Had you upset him so badly that he would speak of your secret? Kakashi seems to know what you’re thinking as you make eye contact. You knew he wasn’t thinking clearly, the curse…you can get him, bring him back and have the mark removed.
“I can catch him if I go now..”

Happy birthday, Shana! 🎉🎉🌻🌻
Untamed or Naruto?
When Naruto is born, the nine tailed fox is pulled from Kushina along with her and it's only because of Minato's quick application of a seal that keeps disaster from becoming even worse.
Dozens of buildings and hundreds of lives are lost in the devestation. Still, it could have been a far worse attack, if Naruto had not been a suitable host for the demon.
It's a risk, one that Kushina screams at him for taking. The seal might not hold. Babies are not meant to be containers. It could kill their daughter, and sure, the nine tail might die along with her, but at what cost?
The seal holds. Naruto's strength holds.
The ordeal nearly kills Kushina and weakens her enough that she'll never again be an active duty ninja.
Minato sleeps at his office after that. Kushina doesn't even let him hold her until she's six months old and it's not until Naruto is almost two that she lets him move back into their home.
Still. Things aren't quite the same between them after that, when Kushina saw how he quick he was to sacrifice his daughter for the village.
Practically, she understands.
But no one has ever accused Kushina of being practical.
~
A container forced to spend their whole life fighting the fox will be weak. There's nothing for it - all their energy and chakra and time is spent subduing the fox, consciously or subconsciously.
Her daughter has been sabotaged from her first breath, made a target and given no way to defend herself.
"You want me to marry your daughter?" Kakashi squeaks, wondering if this is some new cruel prank she's playing on him. "She's a baby!"
But Kushina is serious. She's serious a lot these days, but at his question she almost smiles. "Not now. In about twenty years."
"Why," he starts, and then doesn't know how to continue.
"You're selfish," she says and his shoulders hunch. "Naruto won't be able to protect herself when people discover what she is and start coming after her. Minato has seen to that. My identity as the container was a well kept secret. Thanks to the attack, half of Konoha knows what Naruto is, and the other nations will hear of it, and they will come for her."
"I can protect her without marrying her," he insists, looking down at the baby in Kushina's arms. The idea that anyone, never mind him, will marry her someday is ridiculous.
"You're selfish," she repeats. "You'll choose her if she belongs to you."
Kakashi doesn't know what to say to that. He knows why Minato hasn't come home.
He goes to him, and his teacher just shrugs and says, "Don't you want to be my son-in-law, Kakashi?" Then, "Don't worry about it for the next twenty years. A lot can happen between now and then."
Gai hears he's been betrothed - uhg - to the hokage's daughter and congratulates him on an excellent political match and then takes pity on him and takes him to a bar.
It's his first time drinking and he probably shouldn't have let Gai goad him into a drinking contest.
~
Naruto is wary of people.
Some people love her, coo over her being the hokage's daughter and a brave little girl, patting her head and shoving sweets into her hands.
Some people glare at her, hiss about her being a demon who's killed the hokage's real daughter, and slam doors in her face and throw rocks at her back.
"Is it weird having a husband?" Ino asks while they make flower crowns from the days discarded flowers. It's the end to their first week at the academy and her parents are fighting - again - so Naruto had gone home with Ino instead. The Yamanakas are always nice to her.
Her mother doesn't want her to attend the academy, says its a waste of time and dangerous anyway. Her father says that the child of the hokage can't not attend the academy.
Neither of them had asked her what she wanted.
She pauses, thinking. Kakashi greets her and bows to her but he's ANBU, something she's not supposed to know but seems very obvious, so she doesn't really see him outside of when he comes by to talk to her parents sometimes. "No? He's not my husband yet anyway."
She's overheard him a couple times asking her father to find her a different husband, saying that he'll be bodyguard forever if only he doesn't have to marry her.
It hurts that Kakashi thinks she's a demon too. She'd always thought he was really cool and had thought it was nice that she'd have a nice, cool husband when she was older.
But she doesn't think she wants to marry someone who hates her.
~
The Uchihas aren't always nice to her, but Mikoto always is, coming over to her house to talk to her mother and dragging her sons with her, or keeping her door open to Naruto whenever she comes knocking.
Itachi stops coming early on, promoted quickly and no time to tag along to his mother's house visits. Sasuke is there and he scows and pouts but can be efficiently bullied into helping her get into whatever trouble she's decided is most worth her attention that day, so he's pretty all right, for a boy.
Naruto has to pay a lot of really close attention to people, because she never knows if they're going to be nice and mean, and the Uchihas aren't like the Yamanakas. Their reactions differ, so she has to pay attention.
Something is wrong.
Her mother doesn't believe her.
Her father doesn't listen.
She goes to Kakashi out of desperation. She tries to avoid him as much as she can, but he's the one person who might be able to convince her father that something is wrong.
"Ah, Naruto-hime, what can I do for you?" he asks, tone respectful. When she was younger, she liked that nickname. Now she knows that he's mocking her.
"Something is wrong with the Uchiha and you need to get my father to do something about it," she says.
His face is hidden by his stupid mask but she can tell he's frowning. "Why would you-"
She cuts him off, wanting this conversation to be as short as possible. He doesn't believe her either - shocker - but he agrees to look into because it's the quickest way to end the conversation.
Danzo is quietly, secretly, executed for treason. Madara Uchiha is listed as an active S class missing Konoha nin.
There are lots of talks about what, exactly, to do about the Uchihas, on how to handle their almost betrayal. Considering the outside manipulation, her father is inclined to ignore it, but something has to be done. Symbolically, if nothing else.
"If they feel excluded, then do something to make them feel included," Naruto says, nine years old and exhausted from the years of tension between the Uchihas and - well, everyone. Sasuke is so worried about his reputation that it takes ages to get him to do anything fun. It's almost quicker to get Shikamaru involved, which is saying something. "Do something no one else can question."
"Itachi or Sasuke?" her father asks, head bent over his paperwork.
She doesn't know what he's talking about. "For what?"
"Which do you prefer?" he asks.
"Sasuke?" she says, because Itachi is always very nice to her, especially after she helped prevent him from becoming a mass murderer, but he's never once helped her prank Iruka-sensei.
He nods and says nothing more and she rolls her eyes and goes to find something to do. Kiba has started training with Akamaru and she bets she can totally derail that without getting yelled at by Tsume.
A week later Sasuke climbs into her window and hisses furiously, "We're getting married?"
Huh.
Well, it looks like Kakashi got what he wanted.
She decided a long time ago she didn't want to marry him, and Sasuke is her friend, so this is fine. It's better.
Sasuke pats her shoulder and doesn't even yell at her when she ruins his shirt with tears.
He's already a better husband than Kakashi could ever be.
~
Minato is dreading today. Enrolling Naruto into the Academy had seemed like the right thing to do seven years ago, because what would people say about a hokage who didn't, but now that it's Graduation Day and he's going to have to deal with the gossip around the Hokage's daughter failing to even become a genin.
Iruka comes to drop off the team assignments and he does a double take when looking through them. "She passed?"
The chunin blinks and then asks, "Who, Hokage-sama? Haruno Sakura? It's rare for a civilian child, but her academic scores are quite high, even if her physical is lacking. She has a lot of potential."
He waves a dismissive hand. "No. My daughter."
The silence turns frigid and when he looks up it's too Iruka outright glaring at him. He's so taken aback that he can't even reprimand him for it. Iruka swallows, visibly forcing his face into less mutinous expression, and says, "Naruto is Top Kunoichi. That's why she's on the same team as Sasuke, who's Rookie of the Year, even though I was hesitant on putting them together when they already work so well together. They could use variety. Sakura is Dead Last, but only because of her physical skills. With the right teacher, she'll shape up quickly."
"Top Kunoichi," he repeats dubiously. "I've seen her test scores."
"Not since I took over her class, apparently," he says, and that tone should get him in trouble, but Minato doesn't care about that now. "Her previous instructor was ... biased. Under fair instruction, she excels."
She can't excel. She's handicapped, and it's his fault, not hers, but that doesn't change what she's capable of. "That's not possible."
Iruka's eyes narrow. "She's passed my tests. Now it's up to her jounin sensei."
Assigning someone with no biases is impossible, but he can at least assign someone who's never matched the shinobi art of lying about things they don't care about.
~
Naruto hopes this is a nightmare. Sasuke is pinching the bridge of his nose and not looking at any of them.
"Um," Sakura says hesitantly, "nice to meet you, Tsume-sensei."
She scowls at all of them. "I hope you fail. I have a clan to run! I don't have time to deal with untrained, undisciplined puppies!"
They probably shouldn't have broken into the Inuzuka compound so many times. Tsume has plenty of reasons to make their lives miserable. Or, well, hers and Sasuke's. Sakura's never done anything to her.
At least it's not Kakashi.

your child's favorite (hq!boys)
Tumblr media
you are the favorite, she/he tells everyone that 'mommy's my best friend' cause you play with him/her, letting him/her eat whatever sweet they want but daddy won't, so needless to say there's a competition between you and daddy to win the title 'your child's favorite parent' which is you'd win it over and over again.
➝Akaashi, Kita, Sakusa, Iwaizumi, Kageyama, Ushijima, daichi, shirabu, ennoshita, yaku
he's the favorite for your child cause 'daddy so cool'. he plays with them (volleyball with the boys or attend his daughter's tea party). he buys the toys you said no to cause they already have a lot of 'em but who is he to decline his little princess/buddy's wishes.

Swim Day
Genma Shiranui x NarutoMotherFigure!Reader
Synopsis: It was unbearably hot in Konoha, and with you having a day off, you decided to take Naruto to the pool.
Naruto Masterlist: Here
Tumblr media
"Mama. Are we going to the pool today?" Naruto's muffled words filled the air as you tugged the swim shirt onto him. His head popped out at the top, blonde hair falling in his face as he looked at you with wide eyes. He needed a haircut, but that would be an adventure for another day. "Ya, bud. It's hot out, and I have the day off. Figured today would be a good day for swimming!"
His eyes widened further as he cheered excitedly at the prospect of playing with his new swim toys. Ever since he was a baby, he had loved the water. Now, almost five and a half years later, his love for the water only seemed to grow stronger. He began to go on and on about the toys he was going to bring and all the friends he was going to make. You simply hummed at him before slathering the sunscreen on his exposed skin. Your heart was hopeful for that last part, the kids at first would want to play with him, but their parents would always shy them away. It was only a matter of time before the kids avoided him altogether.
You were just hoping today wasn't that day.
"Is Genma coming today, mama?"
Your eyebrows shot up at that as you maneuvered his head to spread sunscreen across his pale face. "I think Genma is busy today, baby" He huffed at that, having grown quite fond of your boyfriend over the last year and a half. "What's he doing?"
"I'm pretty sure he's still on a mission. You know he'd love to join if he was available" Your reassurance made him nod up at you; Genma spent most of his time with the two of you, only being away when missions required him to be. You shoved the floaties onto his arms as he talked adamantly about how much he missed Genma. It made you wonder if he loved him more than he loved you—the person who raised him. A smile crept onto your lips at that thought, it was nice having another person around to help out, and it was 10x easier when Naruto liked them back.
"There!" You exclaimed before sitting back in the kitchen chair. Naruto's arms were raised slightly thanks to the floaties, and his whole body was covered in sun-protecting material. He looked adorable, "Hang on, stay there. I want to get the camera!" You raced towards the bedroom, knowing that Naruto would grow restless the longer you took, and you would surely miss your opportunity for a picture of him. When you returned to the kitchen, you found him on the counter with a cookie in his mouth. Your head cocked to the side as you took him in. "How did you get up there, and where did you even get that cookie?" Your arm wrapped around him, hauling him off the counter before maneuvering him to get a picture.
"Genma gave it to me," He mumbled with his mouth full, and you would have scolded him, but the sound of Genmas name stopped you. The door to the bathroom opened all of a sudden, causing you to jump in your spot, "Jesus, Gen!" Genma laughed at you before walking over to greet you properly. "My mission ended early. Figured I'd come to check in on you two-"
"And give my kid sugar…."
He shot a sheepish smile before pressing his lips against yours; Naruto let out a sound of disgust making you roll your eyes at his childishness. "You're putting him to bed tonight, then." You stated firmly before once more turning to Naruto with your camera raised. "Oh my gods, he's so cute," you whined quietly as you dropped down to get a better angle of him. Naruto looked at you with wide eyes as you snapped photos of him, this wasn't new, but it confused him every time. You, on the other hand, were dying from how sweet and innocent he looked. Not only was he adorable in his swim attire, but the cookie crumbs all over his face added to the cuteness.
Genma leaned against the counter, snacking on his own cookie that he left there. After a few minutes of you gushing over the young child, he grew restless. "Mom, can we go to the pool now?!" You giggled at him before putting the camera on the counter and grabbing the half-eaten cookie from Genmas fingers. "Of course. Are you joining us, Gen?"
He bit back a smile as you practically inhaled the other half of the cookie, "Yeah. Naruto already asked me. I think I left a swimsuit in your room" You nodded at that before leaning against the counter beside him, "Better hurry then. You know how he gets-"
"Mommy, come on, I'm ready to goooo" Naruto whined as if on cue, causing you to shove Genma toward your room. "Go get changed! I'll gather his toys."
Genma hollered out that he'd be ready in a few minutes, leaving you and a very antsy Naruto alone in the kitchen. You smiled down at him before leaning down to wipe the crumbs off of his face and hands. "You and your cookies…" you muttered cheekily as you pinched his cheek. He tried swatting you away but stopped once you kissed his forehead.
"Let's go get your toys gathered up, kiddo."

kirby’s kinktober (twenty-nine)
babytrapping//naruto uzumaki
Tumblr media
naruto wants to put a baby in you.
maybe some of jiraiya’s pervy sayings having fact and his brain – he not really sure. it’s nowhere near as bad as the old man was, but once you’re married and he ascends to the high position that he has been striving for all of his life the urge just never leaves.
everyone expects such a young hokage to have kids to fill his office and palace.
you know marrying such a powerful ninja could be hard but he’s so in love with you.
maybe it’s not just jiraiya - maybe he’s wanted to see a marriage as happy as the one everyone his parents had. maybe it’s the animalistic need to claim set in him from birth by the nine-tails.
whatever it is, there is something in him that refuses to let the prettiest flower in konoha not be his wife.
something that needs him be bound to him because you’ve loved him more than anyone.
and so he’s in the hot springs, or his office or the jonin quarters, anyplace where he and you can be alone - rutting his cock into you, in and out and in and out and in and out and n you’re just dripping, splotches of white on the floor.
“you’re gonna be your hokage’s amazing wife right? lovely first lady - you make me feel so loved, babe.” there’s something genuine and child-like in his smile despite the lewd acts.
“just wanna give you a baby - pay you back.” he’s softly wiping your tears and calling you his amazing, beautiful ninja, blue eyes sparkling with want and care.
“nngh! naru -” part of you wants to tell him that it’s so much responsibility, to be the example to the nation, to raise kids, to risk losing him as two powerful ninja but your frothy little pussy is crying - she’s so sensitive and so are you.
all resistance melts however when he lets out a mix of a laugh and a groan, spilling into you again.
he tells you he’s scared too - despite his positive outlook, years of childhood loneliness have convinced the blond that he doesn’t deserve to have you, much less live in your warm, sweet, heavenly walls.
“I know you deserve better baby. but your hokage - fuck - he needs to breed you. ‘cuz ‘ll be all alone… the last uzumaki or namikaze. you don’ want my name to die out do you, hm?”
“n-no. wanna help…”
“If you want to help, i’m gonna have to squeeze all my cum into you…”
sometimes he’s so addicted to breeding your hole that he’ll have a shadow clone do menial tasks just to stay inside you.
“did you think I’d give you a break?” he giggles, tip kissing your g-spot and eager to spray into your awaiting womb.
“no… gotta make sure okay?” he coos because now you can’t leave - not when he’s always snapping into you until you’re a bumbling mess, filled with white.
“you’re only for me n’ my clones. you don’t leave until i make you a mommy, believe it?”

SasuSaku: Sacrificed To The Banished Prince Chapter 1
Sixteen. That's the age that a person reaches adulthood in Konoha. It's also the age when most sons and daughters get paired up for arranged marriages. The same can't be said for Sakura, though. No, at twenty-two years old, she's never received a single offer, largely due to the fact that her existence isn't known by many. As the illegitimate child of Baron Haruno and a traveling dancer, the poor young woman was brought up as little more than a slave. Most maids are treated with more care.
Sakura is the eldest of the Baron's four children. Just three years younger than her is Hihara, the family heir and only son. With blood-red hair, emerald green eyes, and tan skin, he received nearly thirty marriage proposals on the morning of his sixteenth birthday. He married Duke Hyuga's second daughter, Hanabi, though he remains in the Haruno estate while she stays at the castle. Apparently, their dislike of one another is mutual.
Next, there's Haruka, the most beautiful Haruno daughter. She has the family's red hair, long and flowing down her back, sparkling blue eyes, and a figure others can only dream of having. Her sixteenth birthday was two months ago, and she's been taking her time selecting a husband out of the many proposals.
In reality, Sakura knows Haruka's only holding out because when she's been wed, she'll have to move in with her new husband, and it's likely she won't be as coddled as she is at home. Haruka is a daddy's girl through and through. She's spoiled and mean but does a great job of appearing charming in front of others.
Finally, there's Hana, the youngest daughter. Unlike Hihara and Haruka, Hana is sweet and kind. At fourteen, she's soft-spoken and intelligent. She's the only sibling who doesn't mistreat Sakura. The two share a love for reading novels and often bond by discussing them.
After twenty-two years of being treated awfully, Sakura's spirit is beyond broken. With dull green eyes and an ever-present solemn expression on her pale face, the woman does what she's told and tries not to draw attention to herself. Any personality she had to speak of was squandered long ago.
"You should be thanking me. My father allowed you to stay here even after your slut mother ran off and got herself killed," Haruka shoved Sakura to the ground. The pinkette didn't try to defend herself because she knew by now it would only make things worse.
The middle siblings often find reasons to bully her, even if they have to make something up. This time, Haruka insisted the woman glared at her. It didn't happen, obviously.
"Here," the redhead lifted her flowing dress enough that her feet were visible and pointed one out toward Sakura, "Kiss it. Tell me how grateful you are."
Tears threatened to rise in Sakura's eyes, but she blinked them back. Gritting her teeth, she crawled closer to do as ordered, only to freeze when their father's voice rang through the long hallway, "Girls, quit playing and come to my office."
A tiny cry escaped Sakura when her hand was suddenly stomped on by Haruka's heel. She snatched it away to her chest when able and struggled to her feet with a low gaze. It was bleeding. She quietly followed her younger sister.
"What do you need this trash for?"
They stood before the Baron's desk, Hihara and Hana already present and waiting. The stern man held up a piece of parchment with an unfamiliar seal in dark blue, "There has been a proposal that cannot be declined." He set it on the desk before him and interlaced his fingers with his elbows resting, "The second Uchiha heir demands a wife from us."
Sakura expected Haruka to be excited because, as far as she was aware, none of her other suitors had a name even close to as powerful as "Uchiha". To her surprise, she wasn't. "No, Daddy, please! Don't make me!"
"This is outrageous! How many women has he gone through already, Father? Surely there's something you can do?" Hihara added.
The Baron lifted a hand to silence the room, "Sakura."
Sakura's eyes lifted in surprise, only to drop quickly down again, "Yes, Father?"
"You'll go."
Haruka gasped before laughing loudly, "That's perfect! Send the garbage to her death in my place. Thank you, Daddy!"
The pinkette couldn't help but ask, despite knowing it'd upset at least her siblings, "To my death…?"
Hihara responded, "Countless women have been sacrificed as wives to him already. Receiving a proposal means certain death by the monster's hand." When Sakura met her brother's eye in disbelief, he smirked, "Thank you for your sacrifice, dear sister."
After being raised under the idea that she was nothing, Sakura didn't argue. She didn't fight back when Haruka visited her bedroom later that night to beat and mock her. She didn't even shed a tear upon being bathed and dolled up like some kind of princess the next morning, only to be put into a carriage and immediately sent to the most northern part of Konoha, where snow covered the ground, and the air was cold enough to hurt bare skin.
'If only I wasn't about to be killed, I'd be so relieved to finally be away from everyone,' Sakura mused while watching the trees pass outside. 'Wait, why aren't we going East, toward the castle?' This was the first time she'd been permitted to leave the estate, so she was still happy regardless.
She looked at her hands with a grimace. Her nails were trimmed and painted a soft white, but there's no hiding the scars and callouses from the hard work she'd been forced to do.
'Will he kill me immediately, or will he want to consummate the marriage beforehand?' To say she was frightened is putting it lightly. Sakura didn't know what consummate meant, but Father told her before she left to expect it and that it was her duty as a wife.
"We're here, Lady Haruno," the driver interrupted the woman's train of thought. Sakura's spine straightened as the door to the carriage opened. She was helped outside by the frowning man. He removed her luggage and sat it by her feet, tipped his hat, and left her there on the side of the dirt road.
"W-Wait!" It was futile. She was alone.
The confused woman looked behind her, only to swallow hard. There, at the end of the lengthy trail she'd been left at, stood a mansion. It was black as night and gothic in style. Every window was dark and covered with curtains. The grass and garden were dead, the leaves from the bare trees lying unraked and messily mixed into the snow to make it a dirty brown color.
'Is this really the home of a member of the royal family?'
She carried her heavy suitcase, struggling all the while, up the path until she reached the door, where she hesitated. Before she could decide what to do, the door opened to reveal a pale-skinned man with dull eyes and a tense smile, "You're trespassing. State your business or leave the premises."
'What? Is this not the right place?'
"I'm the eldest daughter of Baron Haruno." Sakura bowed politely as the maids instructed her last night.
The man's eyes widened, and he cocked his head to the side, "You're Lady Haruno?"
She nodded, attempting to remain composed under his watchful gaze.
He studied her in silence for a moment before holding the door open and gesturing inside, "Follow me. Don't touch anything."
A second man wordlessly approached, took her suitcase, and followed the duo into the large home. The floors were bright white, the tile shiny enough to reflect the lights even though they were dim. Dark violet wallpaper with an elegant black design covered the walls. Expensive-looking vases and ornaments decorated the hallway, each one probably worth more than everything Sakura owns combined. "
Wait here." The young woman nods, bowing her head politely when the pale man spares her a glance.
It was silent between her and the second butler for the entirety of their wait, almost ten minutes. The pinkette begins to feel lightheaded. She wasn't offered any food before being sent off by her family, and her body has always been weak due to the neglect and abuse she suffered all these years.
Just as she began worrying she'd have to ask the silent man nearby to show her somewhere to sit, the original butler reappeared.
He held out a thin black envelope. "Usotsuki will show you to your room."
'What is this? A letter? Where is the prince? Will he not come out to kill me now?'
The confusion must've been obvious because he curtly explained, "Lord Uchiha forbids you from visiting the third floor of the estate, where his quarters are located. Until further notice, you'll begin planning the wedding. That letter contains an official greeting."
The next thing Sakura knew, she was alone in a massive, dark bedroom. It took mere minutes to hang the three dresses she owned in the wardrobe. Inwardly, the woman was terrified the murderous prince would come to kill her in the middle of the night, but she was also wondering if maybe things would be better that way. If he did it while she was asleep, then at least she wouldn't have to suffer anymore.
Lighting a candle at the desk near the bed, Sakura sat in the large chair and opened the letter from her soon-to-be husband. Intricate, neat handwriting met her gaze. Tears welled in her eyes as she read it.
"Lady Haruno, thank you for agreeing to travel to my home without an escort. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. As for our engagement, allow me to clearly explain my intentions. We will not be married. His Royal Highness has demanded I search for a fiance, which is why you've been summoned. However, I do not agree with his demands."
"While I am certain your stay here will be temporary, please inform any of the staff of your needs, and I will see to it that they are met. I ask for your patience as I devise a plan to return you to your family. Please allow me one month to remedy the situation. In the meantime, you will need to act as though our wedding is inevitable. I understand that I'm asking a lot, but it's for both of our sakes. I do not wish to be married, and you likely do not wish to be married to a man like me."
A signature at the bottom of the letter read "Sasuke Uchiha".
Sakura's heartbeat soared in a panic.
'No! No, this can't be happening!'
If she returned home in a month, unwed, her family would be enraged. With shaking hands, the woman fumbled through the desk for a pen and paper, quickly writing a response.
"My Lord, your honesty is appreciated in this stressful situation. Please allow me to return the gesture with unsullied words. While I'm sure you have personal reasons as to why you wish to remain a bachelor, I beg your reconsideration. For my own reasons, I cannot allow this marriage to fail. Let us be wed as His Highness requests. Use me as a defense against further such demands. Whether you discard of me or not, I am fine with whatever outcome so long as our families are fooled."
Sakura would rather be brutally murdered by this mysterious prince than return home. She was sent here to die, and if she didn't do that, the punishment would certainly have her begging for death.
Hesitantly, the woman opened the door to her room and tiptoed into the hallway until she saw two maids passing by, "Excuse me, but can you please deliver this to Lord Uchiha?"
The maids looked at her with wide eyes. One of them gingerly accepted the letter, "As you wish, Ma'am." The pair bowed politely before scampering off, whispering excitedly to one another.
Sakura watched them for a moment before returning to her room with a sigh.
That was the nicest any staff had ever treated her. She fully expected them to hit or at least yell at her. Her body trembled with fright as she climbed into the comfortable bed and curled into a ball. One way or another, her life would soon be over.

I've been rewatching Naruto lately and it made me have a dream about this girlie and decided to turn her into my oc. Her name is Ira and she's a very sweet genjutsu user. Backstory under the cut! Don't expand if you don't want to read it and are only here for the art.
Ira was born in the Land of Sound (Oto no Kuni), she has little recollection of her clan, not even remembering her own family name. The only thing she knows is that her parents and relatives were one of the many murdered during the conquering of the now Otogakure. Being an orphan for as long as she can remember, people started thinking she was maybe a lost member of the Uzumaki clan thanks to her red hair, and that rumour led to her being targeted by many people, but the only one that managed to catch this very elusive and cunning child was Orochimaru. Ira became an experiment, multiple attempts to push her body beyond it's limits happened and some of Orochimaru's biggest failures of modifications were attributed to her lack of constitution and chackra. The girl quickly proved to not be an Uzumaki afterall, but that did not stop the research. One of the many attempts Orochimaru had made to improve the girl was the creation of an "artificial" sharingan, which of course, failed, turning her visually impaired and with useless red eyes. The only experiment somewhat sucessful was her vocal cords. Orochimaru had noticed the girl would often sing to calm herself down while in captivity, so a enhancer was put in her throat. With this new ability, she could perform a powerful genjutsu that eventually helped her escape the snake's laboratory. Whilst trying to find a safe place to rest and maybe forget what happened to her all throughout her childhood, she ended up meeting a disguised Konoha kunoichi by the name of Ema, who took her in during her time in the Land of Sound and taught Ira all she knew about being a ninja. Her peaceful life however, was short lived. One day while foraging, Ira watched as shinobi descended upon Ema, taking her life and forcing Ira to use her voice genjutsu. Thanks to Ira's still weak constitution and low chackra reserve, the genjutsu wasn't fully effective, one of the shinobi managing to break away from it and going to slash her neck. At that moment, Ema's training kicked in and Ira avoided the fatal blow, instead having her face torn by a kunai cheek to cheek. She passed out due to the shock, the ninjas deciding to leave her to bleed to death, but the girl proved more resilient than one would believe. She woke up, now scarred with a forever open mouth and a mother figure lost. She took Ema's shirt, necklace, sword and bandana (removing the symbol of Konoha) and promised to grow strong enough to earn Ema's attire. Ira became a sort of legend in Otogakure, not many people even believing "The Death Song Shinobi" was real, but after the Fourth Shinobi War, she became less shy about her efforts and got more involved in the reconstruction of the village as a proper shinobi one. She is now the sensei of many genin of the sound and proudly wears Ema's attire as she peforms her duty.
Ira is the same age as the old shinobi of Konoha (Kakashi, Iruka, Kurenai, Guy...). She tried to avoid getting caught in any of the wars and battles that happened during her younger years, although she did travel to the places where battles were ocurring. She spent less time on the battlefield and more time helping civilians relocate into safety and finding food for any refugees she came across. A real "Robin Hood" type ninja, 'till this day she refuses to put an identification symbol on her bandana believing that "little does it matter where i come from, a person in need won't look at your head when you offer a helping hand." She thinks Konoha is a swell place, afterall, they were the ones that raised and approved of Ema as a shinobi. She has met the retired rokudaime, and thinks he's way too calm for a former leader. Ira often tries to get a reaction out of him by attacking his pride, but he does not seem to take her very seriously, which drives her INSANE.
Ira is very serious while on duty, but quickly lights up once she is on her break. In Otogakure, she is often called "The Two-Faced Ninja" for how suddenly her behavior changes when next to her students. From a serious, matter-of-fact shinobi, to a cool, cringey, grandma figure. Although she works in the renovation of the Hidden Village of Sound, she has managed to avoid ever dealing with Orochimaru, claiming that it is best for everyone's sake if she never sees his face again. "It takes a lot of concentration out of me to not let my song affect my allies, and let's just say that if i have him in front of me, i won't care for who i harm with my voice." Ira wants what's best for the village, longing to see her land as how Ema used to describe it before the conquering. She wants people to thrive and for no child to ever have to live the way she has lived thanks to wars she didn't understand.
She is the sensei of many genin, but her favorite group is Kirima, Mitura and Keiga (i'll probably draw them in the future), which are the same age as Boruto's group.

“You’re always leaving me.”
He turned around to see you, standing in your doorway, with a wry smile plastered on your face. He’s not quite sure how to respond to that. He wanted to stay. He really does. But both of you knew that’s not how this works.
Seeing how he’s at a loss for what to say, you simply hugged him. You’re not sure how many hugs it had been at this point, but it didn’t matter. You made sure that this last hug is tighter than the ones before.
“Sorry, that was a stupid thing for me to say. Have a safe flight.”
You chuckled lightly before letting go of him. It was a dry chuckle, and it pained him to hear that coming out of you.
It’s not like this was the first time he had to say a temporary goodbye to you. You two had been through this several times and more already. Although it never got any easier as you’d initially hoped. You were lonely on days when he’s not with you. And so was he. So instead of walking towards the cab waiting outside, he walked back inside the house, dragging you alongside him. You tried to frantically stop him, reminding him of his schedule. He simply grinned cheekily at you before pulling you closer to him.
“That can wait,” he started to sway back and forth with you still in his arms, “Or I can just cancel this one and call for another.” Your tense shoulder relaxed a bit upon hearing his laidback exclamation. You let him lead you through your living room, slow dancing to a silent song only audible to the both of you.
“You should pay the driver as compensation for wasting his time, you know?”
“Mhm. And you should pack your bags and come with me.”
You looked at him, amused. “We BOTH know that’s not how this works.”
He raised a brow, a smirk making its way onto his face. “That coming from the person who complained about me always leaving them?” He twirled you around, looking more at ease now.
“Stop bringing up the past,” you huffed, resting your head on his chest and listening to his steady heartbeat, savouring the moment. You’d trade everything you have for this moment to last even a minute more.
Looking up at him, you then cupped his cheeks, which seemed to perfectly fit in your hands, bringing it closer to your face. “I’m lonely whenever I’m without you," you admitted, a slight pink hue making its way onto your cheeks. It’s a bit embarrassing to admit such a thing aloud, but you figured that it’s now or never.
He hummed once again, before breathing out a "Me too," and placing his lips on top of yours. You both melted into the kiss, but you suddenly gently pulled away from him, giggling.
"I seriously think you need to get going now before you miss your flight."
His pout was visible and you couldn't help but to adore his cuteness. "Just a little while longer," he said, pulling you closer once again to his face and with your foreheads touching. "Just a little bit more…"
You closed your eyes and let out a soft chuckle this time, all the while letting him caress your cheeks. “Alright, just a little while longer then.”

Can I ask your top 10 fav fics ever (from any fandom, if you don't mind)?
Also, just curious, is there a story behind your name "cursedvibes "?
I called myself "cursedvibes" because I thought that's the kind of impression the fics I want to write give off. My first beta reader @kaitakushi agreed (hehe) and so it was decided. As for fanfics, I'm not really gonna rank them but more list them by fandom...
JJK
Complicity by SenZen_Travers
Mahito/Kenjaku and my favourite fic of their ship. The characterization is really good and this might sound silly, but I'm glad Kenjaku is allowed to bottom here for once (very rare with Kenjaku ships in general unfortunately...)
King's Ascent by Acromos
Unfinished, but best Sukuna/Uraume fic I've ever read. Uraume is asexual and nonbinary. Love the world building and general prose here. Most of the chapters are focused on how the two grew up and they only really meet in the last one, but it's still incredibly good.
CSM
Well Prepared by Gay_as_fuck
Fic about Santa Claus and Tolka, his feelings for her and how she used him and gradually turned him into a weapon. There are only two fanfics about Santa Claus on AO3, but I'm glad this is one of them, it has exactly what I'm looking for. It's sweet, but also eerily creepy.
Houseki no Kuni
Shards of the Two of Us by undeadrabbit
Technically Kongo/Phos, but their love is platonic. Absolutely wonderful, kind of like someone wrote down all my thoughts about what happened between scenes or you got some additional canon material. Very heartbreaking to see them slowly drift apart and hurting themselves and each other despite still caring about the other.
Naruto
xenograft by Misfit_McCoward
AU where Sakura becomes Orochimaru's student while he's in Konoha and they do lots of experimentation together, on humans and animals alike. I like how Sakura slowly gets sucked in deeper in Orochimaru's machinations and loses any moral qualms she would otherwise have about the research they are doing, going so far as to compromise her own health for it. Just the sort of Mad Scientist story I like.
Be It Ever So Humble by Orochimartyr (ffnet)
A civilian enters one of Orochimaru's abandoned bases and inspects what has been left behind. I love stories that show the horror we are often familiar with in a story from the perspective from an outsider, especially if it involves the discovery of medical malpractice. There's a creeping sort of terror as we discover with this person what happened and piece together what horrible acts have been committed here. It actually really influenced my writing and was what I always aspired to write as well.
JJBA
can you tell that I like the Pillar Men?
I'll Follow You by Opus_Love
A Kars and Pillar Men origin story with Fix-It elements to it, since this is the 37th version of Kars we follow and this time he has the chance to make things right and not lose everything only to be cast into space. I especially love the slow development of Esidisi and Kars relationship and the little tidbits of information we get about the society they originated from.
We turn that old wheel round again by dratinigirl
AU where Kars lands on Earth again after being shot into space, but it's present day and Esidisi has been incarnated as a regular human, which gives Kars quite the culture shock. Very sweet, a bit angsty, but all ends well.
Youth, Man, and Father by dratinigirl
Another Pillar Men origin story. What can I say, I love the whole culture and society people come up with and I'm a sucker for EsiKars slowburn.
Monster
Five Roads Home by Lindra (ffnet)
Post-canon. Dieter and Johan bond over the child abuse they suffered and how it affects them even now. Johan is being cagey of course, but still more friendly than during canon events. It feels in-character though. Also found it nice to see Johan living as a woman now, but removed from the identity of "Anna".

Title: Unbreakable Bonds
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Fractured Hearts
The sun set over the hidden village of Konoha, casting a warm glow across its streets. In the Hatake residence, however, darkness loomed. Y/N sat on the edge of their bed, her eyes filled with tears, as Kakashi paced back and forth in front of her.
Their two children, Aki and Sora, stood frozen outside their parents' bedroom door, listening to the heated argument that tore through their once peaceful home.
"You can't keep ignoring this, Kakashi!" Y/N's voice trembled with pain. "We can't pretend everything is okay when it clearly isn't."
Kakashi clenched his fists tightly, his masked face betraying the turmoil within him. "I'm doing what I believe is best for our family," he replied curtly. "It's not easy for me either."
Aki turned to Sora, fear etched upon their young faces as they exchanged worried glances. They had never witnessed such bitterness between their loving parents before.
"Are you saying you want a divorce?" Y/N choked out the words, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kakashi stopped pacing and sighed deeply. His eyes met hers, revealing the sadness clouding them. "I don't know," he admitted quietly. "But maybe it's for the best."
Chapter 2: Shattered Innocence
Days turned into weeks as tension lingered within the Hatake household. The rift between Kakashi and Y/N grew wider each passing day while Aki and Sora carried a heavy burden on their small shoulders.
One evening after dinner, Aki approached Y/N hesitantly. Their big brown eyes shimmered with unshed tears as they asked softly, "Mommy... are you and Daddy getting a divorce?"
Y/N's heart broke at the innocence in their child's voice. She knelt down, engulfing Aki in a tight hug. "Oh, my sweet child," she whispered, brushing away tears from both of their faces. "Mommy and Daddy are going through a difficult time right now, but we love you and Sora more than anything."
Sora, who had been listening intently from the doorway, rushed into their embrace. "Please don't leave us," they pleaded with quivering lips.
Y/N held her children close, her voice filled with determination. "No matter what happens between me and your father, our love for you will never change," she assured them firmly. "We'll always be your parents."
Chapter 3: Mending Hearts
The Hatake household remained tense as Kakashi and Y/N continued to navigate through their troubled relationship. Each day was a struggle, but deep down, they knew there was still love between them.
One rainy evening, after another devastating argument echoed through the house, Kakashi found himself sitting alone on the porch. The sound of footsteps approached him slowly until Y/N stood beside him under the shelter of an umbrella.
"Kakashi," she began softly, her eyes filled with both sadness and hope. "I miss the man I fell in love with—the one who made me laugh and supported me unconditionally."
He turned his gaze towards her, his visible eye searching for answers within those tear-filled orbs. "I miss that woman too," he admitted quietly.
Silence enveloped them as raindrops danced upon the pavement. In that moment, they realized that their love wasn't lost; it had merely been overshadowed by their struggles.
Chapter 4: Rebuilding Together
Days turned into weeks once again as Kakashi and Y/N embarked on a journey to heal their fractured hearts—this time together. They sought guidance from trusted friends and therapists while also making an effort to communicate openly and honestly.
Aki and Sora, no longer burdened by their parents' constant arguing, witnessed the transformation within their family. They saw small gestures of love between Kakashi and Y/N—a shared smile, a touch of hands—rekindling a flickering flame that refused to go out.
As time passed, trust was rebuilt, piece by fragile piece. Together, they learned to let go of past mistakes and embrace the future as a united front.
Chapter 5: Unbreakable Bonds
Years later, Konoha stood proud under the leadership of its Sixth Hokage, Kakashi Hatake. But his greatest achievement wasn't just his title; it was the restoration of his family—the bonds mended stronger than ever before.
Aki and Sora grew up witnessing their parents' unwavering commitment to each other. Though life had dealt them a difficult hand, they learned that love could conquer even the darkest storms.
In their eyes shone an unyielding spirit that stemmed from the unconditional love bestowed upon them by both Kakashi and Y/N. Their journey taught them that true strength lay not in avoiding hardships but in facing them head-on with those you hold dear.
And as Kakashi kissed Y/N's forehead one quiet evening, he whispered words that echoed throughout eternity: "We've come so far together. Our love will always endure."

Y/N was excited for the day. The rest of her clan's people were entering Konoha. Mainly excited for her best friend, Ellie, and her husband, Evan, to be coming. It had only been five weeks since she had seen them, and even with written communication she had missed them. Telling Madara during their meals about her friends had her home sick, mostly for the people she’d grown close to.
She was surprised to see Madara joining her in greeting them at the gate. “Are you sure you’re able to come?” Y/N asked. It was a pleasant surprise, they didn’t get time together without her mother.
“Of course, Tobirama can keep Hashirama in place.” Madara said, looking her over. “Why? Do you not want me here?”
“No, that’s not it at all. I just don’t want to take up too much of your time. I understand you’re busy between being clan leader, and working with Lord Hokage.” Y/N explained. She certainly enjoyed any time spent with Madara-though it seemed she did most of the talking now.
“You know, you need not call him Lord Hokage. Hashirama will not be offended. You’ve been bringing us lunch every day. Neither he or Tobirama are that formal.” Madara pointed out. “And I’ll do my best to not be too busy for you.”
She couldn’t help but blush. “Thank you.” Y/N looked down over her clothing and adjusted it. She had finally convinced her mother that traditional dress was unnecessary.
“I like this.” Madara said suddenly.
“What?”
“The clothing you’ve been wearing. It’s better than those dresses. You look more comfortable like this.” He added.
“Oh, yeah, my mother likes traditional wear.” She said linking her arm with his as they left. “She’s definitely more traditional than I like. Especially when it comes to clothing. While it’s not as if I don’t like the dresses she picks out, I don’t want to wear them all the time either.”
“I’ve noticed, a very strict woman.” Madara said, surprised Y/N touched him so easily. It was a nice feeling, she wasn’t afraid of him. Not that he’d ever given her reason to, but his reputation on the battlefield did proceed him. Some people seemed to be scared just speaking his name.
“She means well, it was just how she was raised and how she’s tried to raise me.” She pointed out.
“Tried?” Madara found his fiancés fire intriguing. He was beginning to see it more as they spent time together.
“You’ll understand when you meet my best friend-Ellie. She was the wild child and I followed right along.” She chuckled. “She grew up on a farm and I was more than happy to spend my time there then in stuffy clothing.”
“Ah rough and tumble.” Madara was trying to imagine y/n as a young girl running wild on farm land. “Seems more fitting than a strict setting.” Though he had trouble imagining her with such long braids running around on a farm.
They kept up light conversation as they walked to the gates. When they arrived a few people were already trickling in. Y/N waved at people she recognized, smiling and welcoming them as they entered.
“There you two are!” Both Y/N and Madara turn around to see Hashirama jogging towards them. “Oh I was hoping I could be here to welcome some people.”
“Shouldn’t you be at work? With Tobirama?” Madara asked, his eye twitching. Y/N had to cover her mouth from giggling at her fiancés clear annoyance.
“Oh don’t worry, I told him I’d be out for a long lunch. Especially since our sweet dear is unable to bring us our lunch.” Hashirama explained. “You two look very lovely together.”
“Hashirama, she’s not your sweet dear.” Madara hissed, pulling her close to his side. “And you know damn well, you’re hiding from Tobirama. There’s no way he let you out.”
“Y/N!!” A loud squeal came. A young woman, short blonde hair and a beaming face started running towards them.
“Ellie!” Y/N squealed in return, the two women hugged and jumped together. “Oh my gods! I’ve missed you!”
“I’ve missed you. Oh thank divine your mother stopped dressing you.” Ellie teased, both women laughing. “Oh? You’re not here alone! Oh let me guess.” Linking arms Y/N led Ellie to Madara and Hashirama.
“Okay,” the young woman hummed looking between the two men. “Hm tall, dark, handsome, and mono colored clothes-you must be Lord Madara Uchiha?” Ellie chuckled. “And sunshine tall as a tree, must be Lord Hokage Hashirama??”
“Oh I see your fiancé has been telling her friends about us.” Hashirama nudged Madara. “Correct, and who might you be?”
“Ellie, Y/n's best friend.” She said smiling as she offered her hand out. Hashirama beamed as he shook her hand. “It’s so good to finally meet you both.” She said, shaking hands with Madara as well.
“Damn it woman! Running off like a child.” A man huffed as he marched up to them. “Don’t tempt me to get a harness and leash.”
“This is my husband, Evan.” She said, the man nodded to each of them. “Now, darling, pay up.” Ellie said, holding her hand out. Hashirama pouts a bit hearing this man was her husband.
“Fuck. Fine.”
“Evan, you should know better than to bet against your wife. She’s never lost-Ellie is what we call a sweet summer child but she’s a serious gambler.” Y/n explained. “What was the bet?”
“Oh a fellow gambler, you and I will have to play a few games.” Hashirama said beaming-A similar gleam in Ellie’s blue eyes as she nodded yes.
“I said, you’d be here to greet us with at least your fiancé. And a high chance of the Lord Hokage as well.” Ellie said as her husband placed the money in her hand. “And if we were lucky Lord Tobirama as well but I see I got that wrong.” She said with a pout. Ellie was rarely wrong when it came to guessing games. But she suddenly shifted to look behind Madara and Hashirama’s large frames. “But I’m assuming the large man, white hair, and facial markings running this way is Lord Tobirama?” She asked, causing Madara and Hashirama to turn.
“Hashirama!” Tobirama growled as he approached. “You are clearly not getting lunch!”
“Tobirama, please, be calm. I’m just here greeting new people in Konoha. This is Y/N friends-Ellie and her husband Evan.” Hashirama smiled, trying to keep his brother calm.
“No, you have work to do. And I’ll be damned if I do it myself. Will I have to drag you back to the office like a child, or will you act like an adult and walk?” Tobirama huffed.
“Fiiiine.” Hashirama groaned, waving to them before following Tobirama.
“Is that normal?” Evan asked after the two brothers had left.
“Yes. Hashirama is lazy when it comes to office work.” Madara huffed. “Disciplined in almost every aspect as a shinobi but a terrible flirt, gambler, and lazy with his paperwork. Truly awful.”
“I thought he was your best friend?” Y/N asked, finding his description rather funny.
“Yes, and? I can still be honest.” Madara pointed out. Ellie and Y/N laughed, much to Madara’s surprise.
“That’s just how men see their best friends.” Evan said with a shrug. “Alexei is a great friend but he whines about anything and everything. It’s annoying.”
They remained there talking about their trip until they began to notice a line of people waiting to meet with Madara and Y/N.
“We should get going, I’m sure there’s plenty of other people you have to greet. Once we’re settled you two must come over.” Ellie said, hugging Y/N tightly. “I’d hug you, but you don’t seem like much of a hugger.” She said to Madara, giving him a hard slap to his shoulder. He was honestly surprised at the strength behind it but Y/N had said she grew up on a farm. He could see what Y/N meant about Ellie being a wild child. She was more of a wild card than a child now.
“It was good to meet you. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of each other.” Evan said, shaking Madara’s hand and patting Y/N on the top of her head. Madara wasn’t sure why it appeased him that the other man didn’t hug her.
Once the couple left, Madara and Y/N remained at the gate. Politely greeting those who entered. Though no one stopped to talk like Ellie and Evan had.
“Y/N!” A man called out, jogging towards them. Something inside him had Madara sizing the man up. He was probably close to Madara’s size-Tall, broad, and mostly likely strong. That’s where their similarities stopped- he had long blonde hair, brilliant blue eyes, an open smiling face, and a thick beard. They may be matched physically but Madara doubted the other man could match him as a shinobi. Probably a simple farm hand. Much to his surprise and sudden anger the man hugged Y/N, nearly lifting her up in his arms and spun her around. “Oh I’ve missed you. Beautiful as ever too.” Now that the man was closer, Madara could tell the man was younger, probably closer in age to Y/N.
“Oh! Oh Itsuki, put me down. Enough of that. Itsuki put me down.” Her voice got sterner as she spoke, giving his shoulder a hit. Clearly they knew each other very well.
“Yes, ma’m.” He said easing her down, his hands moving along her sides and resting on her hips. His face was practically beaming. While Madara didn’t like being ignored on a good day, this was really raising his temper.
He grabbed Y/N by her waist and pulled her back to his side. Most importantly out of Itsuki’s hold. Y/N didn’t resist, easily stepping out of the other man’s hold and back into Madara’s. That appeased him somewhat, but he still had a gut feeling this man would be trouble.
“Hello, Itsuki was it? Madara Uchiha, Y/N’s husband to be.” Madara said firmly, his lips opened into a smile, forced and far from happy looking. It reminded Y/N of an animal’s snarl. He offered his hand, and squeezed when the young man took it. But much to his surprise the man didn’t back down, offering a just as strained smile and squeezed equally hard. Oh, Madara did not like this man.
“The infamous Madara Uchiha.” He said neither man was willing to release the hand grasp. “It’s good to meet the elusive fiance, after what, twenty years? Y/N and I have been close friends since we were young. We met through Masumi, Ellie’s younger brother.”
“Really? Close friends? She’s spoken about Ellie and Evan, a few other people. But funny she’s never mentioned you.” Madara said. Y/N finally pushed the two men apart, putting an end to their hand breaking contest.
“Boys. Enough.” She warned looking between them, hand on each of their chest. “Itsuki is a good friend of Ellie’s younger brother, Masumi. We spent a lot of time together growing up. Ellie and I practically tied at the hip, same for Masumi and Itsuki.” She explained. Once the two men weren’t so close, she kept at Madara’s side. Even took his hand.
“That we did.” Itsuki nodded, grinning, his eyes never leaving Madara’s. Someone behind him cleared their throat- an older woman clearly waiting to speak with Madara and Y/N. “I should go. Hopefully I’ll see you around? I’m sure at Ellie’s at some point.”
“Yes, that would be wise.” Madara nearly growled. He was tempted to flash his sharingan just to see the man’s reaction.
It was silent between them after Itsuki left. With a steady stream of people still coming in, they didn’t have the chance to speak. Madara had so many questions and he was getting his answers as soon as they were home and alone.
//ooooooooo what will happen next???? Looking for 30 notes for chapter 7. I promise I won't wait so long for the next chapter, work has just taken over plus some recent birthdays plus a con this weekend! Anyone going to Siouxper Con??

Summer Heat
Iruka Umino x Pregnant!Reader
Synopsis: In his paternity books, it said that pregnancy makes a woman extremely hot, and it doesn't help that you're in the third trimester in the middle of August.
A/n: I love a pregnant reader, so scroll now if you aren't into sweet tooth-rotting fluff between Iruka and his pregnant wife
Tumblr media
“Oh my gods, it’s so hot in here. I’m going to die.”
Iruka looked up from the papers he was grading, eyebrows furrowing as he took in the scene before him. You were spread out on the couch with three fans going all at once, but the August heat in Konoha would be the death of you, that and the child you were currently growing. “Do you want me to get you some ice to chew on? Will that help?”
“No, Ruka, but you turning down the AC would help.”
“Honey, it's already set at 55 degrees.”
“It's still too hot.”
Iruka cocked his head in thought, the AC was as far down as possible, all of the fans you had in the house were pointed your way, and you were currently wearing the bare minimum in terms of clothing. Then an idea came to mind. In one of his “What to Expect When Expecting” books, he read that pregnant women found comfort from the heat while swimming. It was worth a shot.
“Why don't we go swimming at the pool? The book I read says that can help.”
You rolled your head to face him again, hand fanning your sweating face as you took in his words. “That requires moving.”
Iruka chuckled but moved towards you. “Tell you what, if the pool doesn't work, we will get ice cream,” He stated cheerily as he helped you off the couch. You pouted at him, “How about going to the pool and getting ice cream?” An eyebrow shot up at your suggestion, but he wouldn't argue with you. Whatever you wanted, you would get. He quickly kissed your lips before pulling you towards the bedroom to grab your swimsuits.
“I promise you swimming will do the trick. My book has been right so far!
“Iruka, please tell me you have not been referring back to that book throughout this entire pregnancy….”
Iruka’s cheeks heated up as he scratched his neck, “No comment,” he breathed out before pushing you into the bedroom to help you prepare for the pool. You plopped onto the bed, already out of breath and sweating buckets from the short trip. “What swimsuit do you want to wear?” Iruka called out from the closet, causing a soft smile to form on your lips.
“The black one! It will be the only one that’ll fit anyway.”
Silence filled the air as you waited for him to emerge with your clothing. What did you do to even deserve him? The second you laid your eyes on him so many years ago, you knew he was too good to be true, untouchable even for a person like you. But here you were, heavily pregnant with his baby, in your shared house. Something you’ve dreamed of but didn't dare believe could come true.
Iruka entered the room again, holding a yellow sundress and a black swimsuit. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the two clothing items, hoping you would agree with what he carefully picked.
“Okay, I grabbed a dress for you as well. But I can grab another one if you do not like the color-”
You stood swiftly from the bed, causing him to jump in shock at your speed, “Is something the matter-”
Your lips collided with his, hands plunging into his hair as you encouraged him to deepen the kiss. The love you felt for him was overwhelming you, more so than the heat was. Once the shock wore off, Iruka melted into it and dropped the clothing, allowing him to cup your face. You sighed into the kiss as he finally deepened it, making you feel lightheaded at how he made you feel.
He pulled back as you let your hands fall from his hair, “What was that all about?” he teased, yet he couldn't hide nor deny that he was blushing intensely at the actions that just transpired. “I just love you, is all. Can't wait to start a family with you.” He smiled brightly at your words, their pure love and adoration making him feel like he was on cloud nine. His hand dropped to your stomach, lightly rubbing it gently, “You two are the best things to have ever happened to me, ya know that?”
“I don't know. If we were, you’d throw in dinner with our little outing.”
He chuckled at that before bending down to get your clothing that he dropped; your pregnant brain was very food oriented, that was for sure. “Sure, we will go swimming, get dinner and then get some ice cream. How does that sound?”
You nodded happily, “I accept your proposition, now, if you’ll excuse me.” You grabbed your clothes with a sweet smile before heading towards the bathroom to get changed. You knew that Iruka had always treated you like the queen you were, and you were excited to see how he would treat your child when they asked for things.
Closing the door, you looked down at your stomach lovingly - “You are one lucky kid, that's for sure. You’ll have your daddy wrapped around your finger as I do.”

Can I just say that except for a handful of characters (I can't think of anyone outside the main Yamanaka family and, like, the old farts of Konoha and the various clan heads and maybe a couple of people from other fandoms here and there) Shisui is very shippable with like, every other character in existence
Hey Anon so I'm going to blow this wildly out of proportion and say that you're absolutely right but Shisui isn't just the ideal character to ship with others but ALSO one of the best to play with in general in the sandbox of fanfiction. Like, let me say my piece-
Shisui is powerful. You can make him literally the baddest bitch out there and you wouldn't even be stretching things. Shisui ALSO has the potential to be pathetic (the hot mess of his death is just...so...so stupid) AND you can make the world's best damsel out of him. Shisui can save people and fix shit BUT he can also be saved and swept off his feet. What a versatile king.
And it goes on. Shisui is sunshine, he's the only Uchiha grinning in public and making friends and he laughs. He's also so fucking traumatised and tortured. You can make Shisui the heart-bruised hero or you can have him as the comedic chaos king or you can have him as baby boy who needs loved or you can have him as fucked up beyond belief but no one believes you because would a psychopath be the nicest person in his whole clan?
Tumblr media
You could have shisui siding with Tobi and suddenly the whole world is rewritten because guess what you can't DETECT Kotoamatsukami-
Shisui can be a hero, THE hero, and he has the potential for a great villain, an even more heartbreaking Martyr. He's sweet and hurt, he's loud or sensitive, he grins in anger and he laughs in tears. Shisui contains a LOT of multitudes. I think he's really so baby boy for that.
And look at where he's situated in canon, in the power ranking, in the timeline. He holds Konoha's whole existence in his hands, he can tear into the past that led to that point AND he can reshape her future.
Shisui is painfully loyal but he's also willing to manipulate everyone he knows and loves for his own ideal of peace, stripping them of their autonomy in that moment. He's also willing to die, to actually kill himself, before letting others take that power. He's a genius, the kind that made him Itachi's mentor as a fellow child, and he was given arguably the most powerful and terrifying Mangekyou ability yet he made his name by revolutionising a basic technique, the Shunshin, into something legendary.
A bit of canon divergence and Shisui completely rewrites the world that Naruto's generation inherited. He's the legacy of Kagami, who was the legacy of Tobirama. There's so much you can do, forwards and backwards, with just this one character.
He's also, you're right, ideal for shipping. He's pretty, he's a genius, he's also a mess and an idiot. Frankly, who wouldn't want to kiss him lmao
Yeah, I'm a Shisui supremacist 😉
