I always find the reaction between MCU Wanda and 616 Wanda in universe to be so interesting because 616 Wanda is a hero who is condemned for falling to her emotions and reacting to trauma poorly but MCU Wanda is still declared a hero, in universe, and is literally treated as "baby girl who can do no wrong" by literally every superhero that meets her. I just find it so interestingly fucked up that 616 doesn't get to be excused the same way MCU does in any regard, including in universe. When she has tried 10,000 times harder than Wendy ever has.

Edit: hey this post was made before MoM and I'm specifically talking about the difference between COMIC Wanda (the REAL 616) and MCU (aka earth 199999 (DESPITE what the movies may tell you)). Because I know people are now going to be confused for a hot sec.

Anyway Im3 was fucking right in not having the mandarin be the legit villain of the film because it was 2013 and having Tony Stark, a rich white American billionaire, have his biggest enemy at the end of his trilogy be "Asia all along" sucks ass. im1 and im2 had asian enemies in it (the "ten rings" in Afghanistan and Vanko, respectively) but they were ultimately about rich people (and usually rich white people) being terrible. Which, in my opinion, was the better option.

In im1 and im2, the main antagonists that pull the plot along are other rich white billionaires who throw money at their problem (Tony) with unethical rich person means. (Hammer hires Vanko with the intention of using him as a way to get to Tony because he's petty as well as using him to further his own military business by selling Vankos inventions under his name) (Stane makes shady deals and puts Tony's weapons up on the black market (which, by the way, what happened to Wanda and Pietro was either a result of Stane's shady deals that Tony was unaware of (Tony was also almost blown up by a Stark branded missile! That he DEFINITELY did not sell! He made the arc reactor so that the shrapnel in his heart wouldn't tear it to shreds!), or US military shittyness, something that Tony was uneducated on, learned about, and immediately, as in literally the second he could, when he was literally supposed to still be in a wheelchair, called a in-person press conference and shut down his weapons program, and immediately became one of the most anti-military characters in the MCU (like in the avengers, when he got real angry about being referred to as soldiers).

Killian isn't a good character, he's doesn't have a particular compelling origin story and wasting the foundation of AIM in the MCU on him sucks. Yes. But he's the last in the list of Iron Man villains that make sense in terms of Tony's personal turning over a new leaf. Stane and Hammer (and Vanko to a degree) are exaggerated versions of Tony's own personal flaws, the things he has to keep in check about HIMSELF. And in that sense, Killian is too. Killian is, if looking in a mirror, an exaggerated version of Tony's desire to be acknowledged and accepted by the people he loves, not being able to take rejection well, and being a risk taker, blown out of proportion. (Tony does deeply crave the affection of those he loves but he doesn't think he naturally deserves it. And while he can be reckless it typically starts and ends with himself. The very last thing Tony would do is, say, start human experimentation (on anyone besides himself) on something known to be dangerous). Killian is impulsive, vindictive, dismissive, self-centered and incapable of reflecting on himself in a meaningful way (basically just any "nice guy" guy on Twitter). He got so butthurt about a single night he dedicated the rest of his life to trying to get back at Tony about it (REAL big "nice guy" on Twitter vibes). He's not well written, he's not even that fun. What makes him interesting, though, is that Tony was kinda all of those things too. (Before his time spent with Yinsen, before Iron Man, before the Avengers).

Tony has never been as bad a Stane, or Hammer, or Killian. But thematically their characters are all "this bad thing about Tony pre-Afghanistan taken 12 steps further."

I don't know I'm just saying in my opinion I think it was better for Tony's main villains to be exaggerated caricatures of himself over using the Mandarin. And that they were right to save a character like the real Mandarin for Shang-Chi where they could be explored and used narratively in a proper manner.

There's a sneer on Eren's face as green eyes behind Versace aviators glide over your form, staring you up and down. His gaze is so penetrative, it makes your teeth chatter. Maybe he was just checking you out. Maybe he was scrutinizing every blemish.

You suddenly feel so very small in your tennis skirt, the tight collared shirt stretching over your breasts, and wished that today out of all days wasn't when you decided to dress a little more stylish.

"Fancy seeing you here." His voice is nonchalant but there's a tone of humor that accompanies his brisk words. How long would it be until he laughs at you?

He scowls, "Are you mute or something? Why aren't you greeting me back properly?"

"Eren," You took a deep breath, "What are you doing in Paris?"

It occurs to you that you've never seen him out of his uniform before. He's wearing a light blue button-down, half the buttons left unfastened, polo shorts, an expensive black watch glittering on his wrist, silver rings on his slender fingers, and a thin silver chain dangling around his neck.

He's also acquired a new piercing, industrial, judging by the bar across his ear. The silver glints harshly under the sun.

"Are you done burning holes through me?"

You blush, embarrassment coloring your cheeks: "No, I'm just surprised." You tucked a loose lock of hair behind your ear, "Didn't expect to run into anyone I knew in another country."

You were just taking a pleasant walk in the acclaimed Champs-Élysées, the avenue every bit as a picture-perfect postcard as it had been described.

"Have you eaten?" The question is spoken with a sigh like he couldn't believe he was asking you this, and you couldn't either.

"Oh, um, no?" You responded, bewildered.

He runs a hand through his dark hair, which reached the nape of his neck by now: "I know a cafe around here. Let's get brunch. We'll talk there."

You don't know what possessed you to nod but you did so, trying to match his quick and long strides. The walk was silent, presumably because the two of you were saving your burning questions for the cafe.

He rolls his eyes when you stutter through your French. He raises a hand, and simply tells the waiter his order and dismisses him. His French is flawless and you're tempted to ask him how it's so good, but you already know the answer. Probably had hordes of tutors to help him.

Merci Monsieur

"Wait," You remark to Eren, "I didn't order."

"I ordered for us. Pain au chocolate, savory crepes, eggs, and ham. Coffee after. For me. Hot chocolate for you because you don't drink coffee."

Oh. That actually sounds good. How did he know your beverage preferences?

He fishes out a cigarette from his pocket, skinny and hand-rolled, "So what are you doing here? No offense but you don't exactly seem like you can afford a vacation to France. "

Now is your turn to sigh. You've nearly forgotten how blunt he could be: "Here on an internship. For art" You supply.

"I assume you just regularly come to Paris every summer?"

He doesn't deny or verify your statement, "Something like that."

"So you're staying at a hostel or?" He asks, exhaling a thick cloud of smoke that makes your nose wrinkle.

The waiter comes by with food, and you turn to Eren with a sour look, "I sincerely hope you're not going to smoke while we're eating."

To your utter surprise, he ashes the cigarette. You were expecting a witty and mean retort at the very minimum, not silent compliance.

You pick up the earlier conversation, "Well, I'm actually staying with my boyfriend." You mummer the last word quietly but the viridian-eyed boy's ears are keen. You don't notice how his grip on the knife tightens.

"You're staying with your boyfriend?" He repeats.

You nod, "Yeah, he's an art student too."

The rest of the meal is completed in sparing small-talk and lengths of silence. But it's not awkward. It's weird. On one hand, having brunch with Eren Yeager in fucking Paris, heir to a billionaire pharmaceutical company should feel surreal, but it's strangely peaceful. You feel more at peace sitting across from him in France than you did when he sat next to you in homeroom.

When it's time to pay the check, Eren looks amused by the very notion of you digging into your purse.

"What kind of gentleman would I be if I let the lady pay?" His words are spoken with a teasing smile.

You roll your eyes but can't help a glimmer of a smile from peeking through on your lips, "Didn't take you much for a gentleman."

He tosses his black card on the bill, "You'd be surprised."

What's there left to do now? Is it time to part ways? There's a part of you that craves more but life has taught you to not be greedy when you already have so so much.

You dabble the corner of your lips with a napkin, "Well, this has been fun-"

"Wait, uh, do you wanna check out the Louvre? Since you're an art student and all, you might uh enjoy it."

You stare at him. Is he tongue-tied?

"You've probably there been a million times already."

"Yeah...but you haven't been, right?"

You blink before breaking into a smile that Eren is sure is going to give him heart palpations, so sunny and bright.

"I would love to!"

You guys check out Mona Lisa for the sheer novelty, and you're bouncing around the museum, oohing and ahhing at the chiseled statues and Renaissance paintings. There is so much history here, it blows your mind.

Eren finds himself watching you more than the paintings. You have this veneer of snark that you wrap around yourself like a protective gauze (maybe that's how you maintain your survival in a world of hyenas) but you're different now.

You're yourself. Watching you here come alive in unbridled enthusiasm, eyes widened in passion, makes him reach out to his pocket and fish for his disposable film camera. He doesn't know if he's ever seen anyone in his vapid life look like the way you do, so filled with a zest for things that are greater than themselves.

He wants to burn you into his memory, praying to all the gods that you won't notice when he takes a picture of you admiring a bust of a goddess. He slyly tucks his camera back into his pocket.

The world seems to stand still when you tug his hand to show him a painting, an expression of unadulterated wonder on your face. But when you realize you pulled his hand, you immediately drop it like hot coals.

Why do you look so worried? Why do you look so scared?

"You can hold my hand if you want. It's-it's okay." He can't believe he's gotten the words out.

You're taking too long, your hands still hanging limply by your side, an indiscernible expression on your pretty face. Eren doesn't understand why it makes him so mad, why your sudden hesitation grated his nerves. Deciding to make your choice for you, he grabs your hand, squeezing your palm as he flashes you the charismatic smile that's got him out of countless incidents.

He doesn't like the expression of worry marring your features. Where did the happy jovial girl go? Just a few seconds, you were poking him with sparkles in your eyes, "Look at this Eren!" and "So beautiful, right?"

He forces another smile: "Show me the painting you wanted me to see." Maybe it was meant to be a request but it comes out as a demand.

You cast a glance at your joined hands, his grip borderline painful. "O-okay."

You lead him across the floor, and Eren can feel the stares of people around him. They are smiling. An older woman utters a "Un si charmant couple."

You take him to a grand painting. It's haunting and dark, swirling with so many shades of dusty red from vermillion to scarlet. A pregnant woman lies reclined, arm hanging and head lolling. She appears to be asleep, and there is a cacophony of men around her portrayed in varying degrees of stress.

"Death of a virgin", you breathed.

Such a macabre name, Eren thought as he gazed longer into the painting. He loosens his grip on your hand, testing whether you would pull away.

You don't.

It's raining outside and you're giggling.

"Fuck" Eren swears, "I'll call a cab."

You're a vision drenched in rain. Your clothes are soaked, and he could see the outline of your bra from your thin shirt. But it seems like you don't even care.

"Let's just enjoy it!" You cry out. There are thick droplets stuck in between your eyelashes, and you smell like rain too. It's dangerous, he can see chords of purple lightning flash the sky, thunder booming, and it's like you're dancing, the way you move so effortlessly.

You hook his hands in yours, "Doesn't this feel good?"

He feels like all his sins are being washed away, all the impurities and muck that clung onto him after nineteen years of existence. His heart nearly jumps out of his throat every time he looks at you.

He cups your chin and kisses you. When he feels the threadbare resistance, he kisses harsher, tongue and teeth swallowing your protests, coaxing your mouth open with a skillful pinch to your nipple. He pulls away just before you feel like all your breath has been robbed.

You're stunned speechless, "Eren...I...h-have a boyf-"

He kisses you again. And this time you kiss back, holding nothing back.

Tony didn't expect to click with someone shy and reserved, but meeting you would shake up his entire way of looking at the world. He wouldn't ever force you out of your shell, I think if anything he would be careful not to force you into uncomfortable situations.

First Kiss:

Dating Tony was an experience, and that was putting it lightly. He was a lot to handle at any given point, even when you had been nothing but a barista at the coffee shop that he always had his coffee picked up from.

He was a flirt, loud and boisterous, and entirely taken with the way you were so shy. Even as you two grew closer and fell for one another properly, you had a hard time opening up to him and not finding yourself struck speechless by his bold personality.

He worked hard to make sure you felt safe with him. That was hard enough for him considering that simply being around him, being close with the billionaire, meant that you were putting yourself in harm's way. But he did what he could, shielded your face from the media and avoided talking about you as anything more than a friend. He even kept the affections behind closed doors.

But the both of you could only keep that up for so long. It was a big event, a charity fashion show that Tony had been invited to. You hadn't said anything about going, but he would have been a fool to think you wouldn't want to be there.

So he had bought you the nicest dress he could find, having it delivered to you. And he couldn't have imagined you looking as good as you did, even being himself he was stunned by how he had gotten someone like you.

The night was in full swing, he chatted over glasses of wine and whiskey with people from around the world. You smiled and nodded, shying away from questions as much as possible. But you were on Tony Stark's arm at one of the biggest fashion events of the year, so it was hard to keep your feet on the ground.

The show itself was over, and everyone was mingling. You had excused yourself quietly, telling Tony that you needed some air and finding your way outside. The grounds of the estate the show was being held in were sprawling, perfectly manicured lawns cut by ling, smooth walkways. There were all sort of flowers, and the summer night was accented by the sweet floral scents.

You found a bench, sitting yourself down far enough out that the likelihood of being interrupted was very low. You sipped your champagne, enjoying the warm breeze and the moon sitting high in the sky that made the silver of your dress twinkle. You enjoyed the solitude of it, closing your eyes only to nearly jump out of your skin at the sound of a voice beside you.

"I thought I'd never find you. What's the point in outshining the models if nobody sees you?" Tony mused aloud, sitting beside you. You laughed, cheeks flushing with a warm blush as you turned to look at him.

"You flatter me too much. But I appreciate the compliment." You mumbled with a smile that regularly swept him off his feet.

"It's not really flattery if I mean it." He argued, reaching up to brush his thumb against your cheek. It made your heart lurch in your chest as he moved to cup your jaw. "And I do mean it."

You lifted your gaze to his, swallowing as you caught a glimpse of the pure adoration swirling in his eyes. He had been looking at you that way from the moment the two of you met, but you had always been oblivious to it.

"Rosie?" You hummed in response to him saying your name. "I'm gonna kiss you."

There was barely a moment between the warning and his lips landing against yours. Your brain felt like it was moving through honey as you tried to kiss him back, your reaction time slow. But soon enough your lips were moving against one another nice and slow.

It wasn't the type of kiss you would have expected from him, but it was perfect. His tongue teased against your bottom lip, and they parted just enough to invite him in. He tasted spicy and warm like the whiskey he had been sipping at all night, and it was a good taste even if you didn't particularly like whiskey.

Soon enough he pulled away, moving his thumb to run along your bottom lip.

"I might need to do that again." He confessed. You felt the heat rise through you, a rush of embarrassment mixed with the intoxicating excitement as you nodded.

"Yeah, we could do that again." You agreed. And you decided then and there that you would make sure that that happened many many more times by the end of the night.

Were there any episodes in season 3 where you felt they could've been written better? I'm only asking because I had some ideas I wanted to share with people about fixing them since, to me, the season started becoming a mess around The Phantom and the Sorceress. And the episodes don't need to be outright bad, there could just be parts in it you didn't like.

Oof. I've been a bit loud and obnoxious about certain episodes for sure 😅 I'll try to briefly sum up a few.

Also I'm just gonna say, some of these are just I don't like what they did rather than any huge fundamental problems like the finale.

Also disclaimer. This is not an attack on anyone who likes these episodes! Nobody has to agree with me! If you like these episodes cool! Glad you got something out of it! This is just Tombs being a nit pick loud mouth.

Rumble for Ragnarok

I can't complain too much about this one as it was still entertaining. Norse is part of my heritage and I'm a fan of the mythology which was on full display this episode. My only real issue this episode is that the message gets a little lost at least on me. And then two is I think out of all the episodes this one is the one that could absolutely be thrown out without losing anything really important. Trade this episode for something different. Something more important.

The Forbidden Fountain of the Forever Glades

Scrooge's behavior and leaving Webby in the jungle was painful to watch. (Much as I don't like the finale twist, the twist actually makes this episode worse.) [Also so much for Goldie's "fresh start" when in Split Sword of Swanstitine later showed she once again attempted to double cross Scrooge. Yeah. Fresh start. Totallyyyy.] Goldie is a fun character and I can't hate her too much. The episode has its merits and definitely still think this episode should be around but Scrooge's behavior here really kills me. Thankfully at the end he does better but ugh. It's low on the overall ranking for me based on how he behaves and treats Webby.

New Gods on the Block

I actually really love this episode but Storkules was pissing me off too much 😂 Nit pick for sure. I love this himbo but got dangit he was making me so mad. I get it was kinda important for the overall plot but come on we got so little Donsy content that it was frustrating that he was so intrusive.

The First Adventure

Nit picking again. I think it's kinda random how in the span of a few hours a hard ass like Scrooge went from "my obnoxious niece and nephew" to "my heirs and beloved family." I guess it's possible but not a fan of that kind of writing. For me it would make more sense that they had several adventures or at least more time with them before they became "his heirs" in his eyes. Extreme nit picking on my part though, the episode isn't bad at all really. Also no Hortense and Quackmore. Yes they were named. (Or she was) No we never got to see them. Rude! This was actually a really good episode though overall again I just have some minor nit picks.

The Fight for Castle McDuck

Okay this one is also kind of a nit pick but it's more like based on the episode's timing. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that Webby "Knower of all things Clan McDuck" has no idea that a family of Scots fights a lot. I can somewhat forgive it though as she's young and isn't as familiar with this side of the family in the flesh. But it's so weird how this late into the show we're seeing this?? I think I would have liked this episode more if it had popped up earlier into season 3 rather than so late? It just was a kinda weird episode and not the most enjoyable but the timing I think made it worse. Also the no mention of Hortense again. Referring to Matilda as the youngest when that's supposed to be Hortense? It's really not the worst episode. It just feels a bit off to me and again to me mostly the timing of it. Could have been better, could have been worse.

How Santa Stole Christmas

THROW THIS EPISODE INTO THE FUCKING GARBAGE. HATE HATE HATE IT. THIS ONE ACTUALLY MAKES ME RAGE.

This episode is actually worse for me than the finale. Literally I consider this episode the worst in the series. I just hate it!!!

I hate that this episode was about Scrooge and Santa. I really don't give a fuck why Scrooge hates Santa and this story in no way compelled me. (Also why was Scrooge and Santa's dialog weirdly shippy??? Thanks to this episode got another huge NOtp, "scranta" is gross, sorry, hate it. Absolutely cannot board that ship at all, I have the tag blocked.) I see absolutely no reason why this was the story we got when there was literally an option to follow up The Last Christmas now that Della was finally home????? MISSED OPPORTUNITY!!! I hate the weird crazy ass capitalist message going on throughout the episode, I get Scrooge is a capitalist himself but he didn't change from this episode? He walked away from Jennifer's obvious poverty life and went "ah as long as she's happy" instead of I don't know, maybe a message about helping the less fortunate??

Look maybe I'm just bitter from my own life. I've lived in extreme poverty my whole life. My parents home has literally looked so much liked the ruined place Jennifer lived in during the episode. And I live in Alaska so I KNOW COLD. I know how it feels to go cold for days on end, no food, no water, nothing. Extreme poverty. Scrooge could have done something. He wasn't like Donald who doesn't have much either. He's a freaking billionaire. He could have helped. And instead the message he walked away with is "if you're happy life is fine" or something. Whatever the message that was supposed to be from this episode is completely lost on me because all I see is a miserable rich old miser who hates letting kids have fun and won't help someone in need. Absolute garbage episode. I really wish they had instead just followed up on The Last Christmas. Or had some kind of family centric episode at least! I seriously fucking hate this episode so much. I would legit erase this episode if I could it is the WORST.

The Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker

Nit pick again. Didn't love what they did with Kit. Okay I get the idea he grew up to idolize Baloo so he turned out more like him. It...wasn't great. Didn't like that much at all. Felt like they just tried to shove Kit into a DT87/DWD Launchpad mold. I didn't love that Baloo and Kit's relationship was mentioned weirdly casually? Like Kit called himself Baloo's sidekick??? Except in Talespin Kit calls him Papa Bear??? Also great, got another tag to block from this episode, the delkit ship. Not a fan, thanks.

Kinda weird for me with this episode I didn't really catch the meaning of it. To me it felt like the message was "defy expectations...by meeting them." It didn't really click and I kinda hated it for that plus the weird characterization of Kit. Actually I was on Twitter and someone was complaining about this episode and I responded in agreement and then FRANK REPLIED TO US 😅😅😅. Frank explained that the point was more of "if you're good at something, don't give it up" rather than "you can do anything you set your mind to" type message that appears a lot in kids media. (Also Frank please don't look at me when I'm criticizing the show 😂😂😂😂😭 I promise overall I do love it I'm just a loud mouth when I don't like something some times 😅)

After Frank explained that it did click a little better and I can see the message a bit more clearly. But I'm still not really in love with this episode like I wanted to be. I freaking love Talespin so that was a bummer. But as I've said a dozen times. I'm mostly nit picking my personal opinion.

The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck

Another one I wanted to like more than I actually did. And mostly this boils down to Louie having to apologize to Doofus when Doofus is the one who's like some wild sociopath or something. I get it Louie hasn't been completely innocent towards Doofus. He did try to use him and con him but Doofus flat out has tried to hold him captive and torture and even kill him. Doofus' sins outweigh Louie's. Louie having to apologize to prevent the tension and all just...feels like victim blaming? This one is harder for me to describe why I don't like it and I think others have explained it better than me. I think it could have been better if Louie AND Doofus both apologized and agreed to start over and let what happened between them before be water under the bridge. At least this way they're equals? Maybe it wouldn't have been the best fix but I feel it would have been better than Canon. This one I don't want to call a nit pick. This one feels like there is something fundamentally wrong with it but I struggle to explain. Mostly other than that though I think the episode was fine. A little weird that the karma court scale needed to be told the villains hearts rather than able to just know them (mostly looking at the Ma Beagle one here) but that part is more nit pick.

And finally...The Last Adventure

I have things I love about it. The individual character moments. The references and call backs. The music. This finale was clearly made with love and care.

But that damn Webby clone daughter thing twist changes things. I know some people say it doesn't but to me it does! I feel it messed with the family dynamic and the characters in a needless way. I feel it didn't add anything to but rather did take away from. I don't wanna say too much on it as there's already been so much talk on it so in keeping it brief- not a fan, didn't like, why the hell, no.

The thing with Bradford kinda threw me off too. His logic and insistence on not being a villain made him so interesting. He was truly a villain to rival Scrooge. Then in my opinion he was pushed into a weird middle ground. He didn't feel like he completely abandoned what he previously stood on but also didn't go full villain either? I get a villain like Bradford isn't easy. The writers have to truly bring their all for someone like him. But Bradford suddenly getting armor and the Split Sword and becoming a battling giant was kinda ????? inducing. Threw me for a bit of a loop. I probably need to watch this episode a few more times before I finally settle on where I sit with the Bradford thing but at least at this time I just feel kinda mixed on it. Maybe I missed something there.

Other nit picks from the finale. Donald's writing was a little weird, he sounded like he was going on vacation but then Della said he was moving out and Donald talked like "well you have the boys and Uncle Scrooge..." it just really sounds like he's leaving the family?????????? Especially at a time like this? Rude! I mean yes somebody please get this man a vacation but the writing here left me kinda confused and there is no reason Donald would ever just leave and act like "oh well their mom is back so my work here is done." Nope. DADnald for life.

Lena and Webby never getting shown to have made up after their fight. I imagine the giving June and May the friendship bracelets kinda implies it but come on. Even just a hug would have been good. Also...why are they giving up their friendship bracelets??? Confused, not a fan.

And also...in addition to the Clone twist, I really don't love that April, May, and June were all clones instead of Daisy's nieces. I really wanted to get to see them in the show and now I just feel like thanks I hate it! I admire the guts to make a twist like this and all but I really hate it.

Overall please let me say I LOVE Ducktales. The show as a whole to me is a huge important thing I love. This isn't an attack on anyone who likes these episodes. I am just once again being loud and obnoxious with my own opinions and nit picks and things I just would have liked to see or not see.

The Black Bat | JHS

AN: I dont feel motivated to write at all :( I want to get better but this shit is HAAAAARD

WARNINGS: GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF VIOLENCE

It's a cold and clear night as Jung Hoseok is walking home after a long shift, he huddles further into his jacket as the wind picks up. The part of town is dark and lonely. The hairs on his neck stand as the sound of footsteps reached his ears. He picks up his pace and the footsteps follow, he wants to look behind him but can't seem to bring himself to do it. He rounds the corner and slams right into a group of men, one of them grips his shoulders tightly, digging his nails into his jacket. Hoseok is trembling with fear as they look around and shove him into the dark alley nearby.

"Empty your pockets, give us all your money" the man demands pulling out a knife. Hoseok looks around for an escape but finds none, the alley is a dead end and the men have him surrounded. They are bigger than him in stature and all have weapons. He can feel the panic rising in his throat, the men draw closer and closer, ready to cut into him unless he complies but thinking about the bills he has to pay he can't bring himself to do it. He watches in horror as the man draws nearer with a blade in his hand. Something comes hurling through the air and imbeds itself into the man's hand making him drop the knife and a scream rips from his throat echoing through the alley, bloodstains his skin. He freezes in fear as the piece of metal in the shape of a bat shines ominously sealing his fate a dark shape descends from a rooftop landing right in front of Hoseok startling him. The sight of the bat insignia on their chest puts him at ease and he watches in disbelief as they stalk towards the men that were trying to rob him. He couldn't help but feel for them because everyone around here knew what happens to bad people that come across the path of the Black Bat. His trail of thoughts was cut short by the sound of their armoured fist connecting with flesh, followed by a loud cry of agony and the sound of his bones breaking is a sound that will haunt him forever. One man stumbles backwards and his back hits the wall as he slides down it leaving a trail of blood. His face mangled beyond recognition and the black bat turned to the man who managed to dislodge the bat-shaped shuriken from his hand. He's holding a gun with trembling hands he manages to fire a few shots which the bat avoids with ease and suddenly appears behind him startling the man into dropping his gun. The bat is quick to grab the man, slamming him against the wall and he screams at the impact. As the other 3 prepare to run, the bat speaks voice deep and menacing.

"You can run but I will catch you and when I do, I will kill you" the bat drops the unconscious man to the floor, he lays in a pool of his blood and like lightning, they're right in front of the men trying to flee. Fists flying at the speed of sound knocking them out before they even have the chance to react and Hoseok eyes widen as he takes in the Black Bat whom people have described to be a shadow. The elusive Black Bat is even more mysterious than their mentor Batman if that was possible and now to see them clear as anyone could in the night. Hoseok marvels at the sight of the black suit shining in the moonlight, the gender of the Black Bat has always eluded the general public but now as he looks closer he realizes it's a woman, he continues to examine the suit. The helmet has bat ears and the cape, a homage to her mentor no doubt but the intricate details set them apart. Such as the gold bat insignia on her chest, the katana sitting on her back and the full-face helmet giving nothing away. His thoughts get cut short as she speaks, a chill runs down his spine at the sound.

"Are you hurt?" She questions him scanning his body for any injuries and Hoseok shakes his head, not being able to form a coherent reply. She tilts her head almost amusingly but it's hard to tell with the helmet and she questions him once again.

"Are you able to get home safely from here?" Hoseok swallows and clears his throat before speaking.

"I'll call a taxi" he's surprised that he was able to form a coherent reply without stuttering and with that, she nods vanishing into the night leaving behind an astonished Hoseok to make his way home. Hoseok is too occupied with his thoughts to notice that she hasn't left as he thought, she's watching him from the rooftops as he calls a taxi and clambers in. The taxi leaves just in time for the police to arrive and the crime-fighting vigilante continues on her night patrol leaving the police to take care of the rest.

The next day Hoseok meets up with his sister Mejiwoo, while they chat about their daily life and the family events that are coming up. She talks about her job as a detective when she mentions her friends, Hoseok's ears perk up at the mention of Yn's name. She smirks at his sudden interest, raising a brow sipping on her drink.

"Oh now that I'm talking about Yn, you're suddenly interested?" She laughs, she loves teasing me about my crush on the woman.

"Urgh shut up," Hoseok grumbles drinking his coffee,

"Jesus, dude just ask her out already" she watches him blush violently and shake his head, she sighed knowing he won't do it.

"Ya know, I met The Black Bat" Hoseok tries to change the subject and succeeds when his sister freezes. She looks over him to see if he is lying and finds no deception.

"What happened?" She questions almost cautiously. Hoseok furrows his brows at the tone, he staches it away for another time and tells her the story of how The Black Bat saved him that night. The whole time he keeps note of how her face changes, she seems surprised but there's something she's hiding, something she isn't telling him. Hoseok considers asking her but he knows that if his sister is keeping a secret it's not likely he'll get it out of her. As the sun sets on the horizon Hoseok and Mejiwoo decide to call it a night and watch movies at her apartment.

Hoseok almost has a heart attack as he sees a shadow move out the corner of his eyes but the angry grumbling reminds him of his sister's roommate and best friend. His sister paused the movie and called out to her long time friend.

"Oi, what's got you in a mood?" Mejiwoo questions her and she snaps her head in our direction before groaning aloud.

"My dad is hosting a fucking charity event and forcing me to attend" she's frustrated, her brows knitted in thought.

"Yn, chill. I'll come with, like usual" she shrugs nonchalantly.

"No, you can't because it's on the same day as your fashion showcase" she huffs in defeat.

"I'm gonna be stuck standing around in uncomfortable shoes as rich assholes kiss my ass or try to get into my pants." She groans, crossing her arms over her chest, throwing her head back. Mejiwoo doesn't answer, she seems to be deep in thought and suddenly she snaps her fingers. She turns to me with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Hey, I have an idea" she exclaims gaining Yn's attention as well as Hoseok and he narrows his eyes at her. She's being pretty suspicious.

"My brother is free and would love to accompany you!" Mejiwoo exclaims, winding her arm around Hoseoks and tugging him towards Yn. Hoseok is about to object but he's interrupted by Yn.

"Really?!? You would do that for me?" Yn practically jumping in joy, grabbing Hoseok's face in her surprisingly calloused fingers and all thoughts leave Hoseok's mind. Any thoughts of objecting are forgotten as he gazes into her sparkling eyes, they memorize him and his words die in his throat. He nods dumbly, to which she wraps her arms around him excitedly and he relishes the feeling of her in his arms. He hesitantly wraps his arms around her and she nuzzles further into him, a content sigh echoing through the quiet room. Hoseok and Yn are so caught up in the moment that they forgot about the other person watching them gleefully. Yn's phone pinging brings them out of their little bubble and they both pull apart awkwardly. Yn clears her throat before speaking.

"I'll get a suit delivered to you and pick you up, text me if you have any questions" she checks her phone and her face immediately hardens. Her face is stern as she gives Hoseok and Mejiwoo a nod before heading out the door.

Yn's walking into Kim manor when her phone lights up with a message from Mejiwoo.

[✨MJ💅🏻] : am I good or what 👀

[Yn] : or what

[✨MJ💅🏻] : Is this what I get for setting you up with Hoseok???? 😫

[Yn] : you know why I can't date,

[✨MJ💅🏻] : Yeah, yeah, the life of a vigilante must be a lonely one blah blah blah 🙄

You roll your eyes at her response and opt not to reply. You make your way to the bat cave to get ready for the night patrol and your mins keep trailing back to your moments with Hoseok. The feeling of being wrapped in his embrace is something you don't ever want to forget, being in your line of work isn't ideal and you can't commit to a proper civilian relationship. Knowing that you won't get a chance to be with him causes your heart to ache a little, you sigh as you play the piano keys to open the secret door to the bat cave and make your way into the elevator leading to the cave underground. The sound of your brother's training gets louder as you get closer, the clanging of weapons echo through the cave as you make your way to your father, billionaire industrialist and notorious playboy Kim Seokjin typing away on the Batcave computer system. As he sees you approaching, he stands clearing his throat to get everyone's attention, you and your brothers stand ready for your assignments to be handed out for the night.

"There has been an incident at Arkham and The Joker has managed to escape so I'm going to need all of you out patrolling tonight in pairs just to be safe." He crosses his arms over his chest standing tall, his tone cold as always. You stand next to Taehyung who for some unknown reason has his Red Hood helmet on and you roll your eyes at how immature he's being. You pray to God that Jin doesn't take Taehyung with him because you know that would end up in a fight. Taehyung feels like Jin doesn't trust him. You understand how he feels but at the same time, he doesn't understand Jin's fear of losing him again and your dear old father is emotionally constipated so he'd never admit it to Taehyung. Men are so fucking stupid sometimes, Jin speaking pulls you out of your thoughts. You notice Taehyung's shoulder tense and fists clenched at his side at the mention of the Joker, no doubt a painful memory for him so you intertwine your finger with his. Hoping to offer some sort of comfort for him, you can feel his eyes on you. His fingers are tense and slowly he grasps your hand and you give his hand a comforting squeeze.

"As for the pairs, Namjoon you're with Jimin, Yn and Jungkook and Taehyung you're with me" you sigh and pinch Taehyung's arm before he can say anything. He turns his head to you but you can't read the expression on his face.

"Please don't start a fight," you whisper to him begging. He stares at you and says nothing. You sigh knowing full well what's about to transpire between the two.

"I'm ready when you are, old man" Taehyung calls out to Jin climbing into the batmobile, you know he has a shit-eating smirk under the helmet. Jin nods and they set off in the batmobile. Meanwhile, Namjoon is holstering his Escrima sticks and Jimin is checking his red robin cowl before they head out. Jungkook is ready, his cape flowing as he gets on his motorcycle. You step into your suit as Jungkook calls out to you.

"Hey sis, you ready or what" his Robin suit shines in the moonlight as he nears the exit. You laugh as you do the final checks on your suit, pull on your helmet and straddle your bike revving it, it reverberates through the cave as you speed off into the night.

Before you know it, it's already the day of the charity event and you haven't seen Hoseok since the day he agreed to accompany you. The joker and his goons have kept you busy to the point you had to go out during the day, at the thought of Joker your side ache remembering your last encounter with him, you took a hit for Jungkook which ended up with you breaking 3 ribs on the same day you were meant to go with Hoseok to get him a suit for the event. Mejiwoo being the great friend she is, went with him instead. Thank God for that, you wouldn't want him to get suspicious as to why you could barely stand. Your phone lights up with a text from Hoseok.

[Hoseok 🥰] : I've got my suit and I'm ready to party 🎉

[Yn] : pffffft, good luck with all the rich stifs around 🙄 BTWs be ready by 6, the car with come to pick you up.

[Hoseok 🥰] : the car? Aren't you coming to pick me up? 🥺

[Yn]: no, I'm already here. I'm gonna get ready here, I'll meet you here. Don't worry you'll be fine. 😘

When 6 comes around Hoseok is sitting in his lounge with his sister nervously twiddling his thumbs. She smacks his hand as he's about to run it through his hair again.

"Stop it, you'll mess it up! Finally got it perfect." She fusses with his hair and the sound of the doorbell has Hoseok stiff as a board. To say he's terrified would be an understatement. Mejiwoo makes her way to the door and opens it greeting the driver.

"Hi Yoongi, Hoseok, hurry up." When he gets up she rushes over to him and ushers him out the door, shutting it behind him.

"Mr Jung I'm Min Yoongi, the Kim family's butler" he introduces himself to Hoseok and ushers him to the awaiting car. Hoseok leans back in the leather seats closing his eyes hoping to get his nerves under control but alas he isn't so lucky. He tries to distract himself but once again he isn't so lucky, he's so busy overthinking it he doesn't realize that they've already arrived until Yoongi holds the door open for him. Hoseok marvels at the mansion in front of him and he stops breathing at the sight of you. You step out the front door making your way over to him and he's so captivated by you he can't seem to process anything. The way your dress hugs your body and the colour compliments your skin so well. You pry his attention away from admiring you.

"You look great," you compliment him as you grab him by the elbow and practically drags him inside. You're beyond ecstatic to have someone as handsome as Hoseok, you come to a halt in front of the doors to the ballroom that holds the charity event and you turn to Hoseok to straighten his tie.

"You look gorgeous," Hoseok's voice almost a whisper but you manage to hear him and you smile, gazing into his mesmerizing eyes. You feel yourself being drawn to him, you see a glimmer of nervousness and something akin to love swirling in the depth of his eyes. You take a step closer to him, just as you're about to lift your hand to caress his cheek Yoongi rounds the corner and interrupts you.

"Miss Yn, what're you still doing out here?" You snap out of the daze and straighten your shoulders. Hoseok clears his throat and holds out his arm for you which you take. Yoongi opens the door and all eyes are on you and Hoseok. You ignore them and stroll into the ballroom with Hoseok, you make a beeline to the bar. You and Hoseok get a drink and survey the room, looking for your family. All of a sudden the hairs on the back of your neck stands up, a chill runs down your spine and Hoseok immediately notices your sudden behaviour change.

"Yn, how lovely to see you again. It's been so long darling" you body stiffens knowing full well who the voice belongs to, Hoseok observes your reaction and he slips his arm around your waist. You relax a little when you feel Hoseok's arm around your waist and you lean into his warmth, taking a deep breath you turn to the man leering at you. You can feel his beady eyes roam your figure as he licks his lips bringing his drink to his lips and you almost vomit but manage to hold it back.

"I thought I made myself clear last time, I'm not interested" you bite out and he steps closer to you, Hoseok seeing your discomfort steps in front of you stopping him in his tracks. He lets out a chuckle as he takes in the sight in front of him.

"Why so serious?" He drawls out slowly his voice a few octaves lower and that's enough to make you spring into action. You grab Hoseok by the back of his collar and yank him behind the bar with you, you can hear the machine gun firing. The glass shelves filled with glass bottles of liquor shatter sending the liquid flying everywhere and all over the body of the now-dead bartender. The screams of the people in the ballroom are deafening and the maniacal laugh of the supervillain isn't helping. You don't know what to do, Hoseok is currently wrapped around you protectively giving you no space to disappear to change but you know if you sit here any longer people will die. A groan escapes you when you realize what has to be done, you push Hoseok's arms away and grab his face. Your lips meet and it's like fireworks, you have no words to describe the way you feel right now but time is short. You reluctantly pull away, Hoseok goes to kiss you again but your hold on his face stops him.

"Please trust me and follow me" you beg him, leaning your forehead on his and his face scrunches up in confusion. He nods afraid making any sort of noise might attract more attention. You wait for the machine gun to run out of ammo so you can make a run for it. Then the sudden click and the barrage of bullets are drawn to a halt. Using this moment you drag Hoseok to his feet and run towards the hallway, your first priority being Hoseok's safety. You burst into the library, dropping the hold of his hand, walking over to the piano.

"Yn, what the fuck are you doing?" Hoseok marches over to you to drag you out the back door but halts in his steps as you play the piano keys and the sudden click of a door opening draws his attention. The door leads to an elevator before Hoseok can question it, the commotion in the hallway has you pushing Hoseok into it and the doors seal shut behind them. He's about to speak again when the sound of doors opening again interrupts him and you step out tentatively. Your gaze stays focused on Hoseok, closely observing his reaction which at first is just plain confusion then as he looks around it morphs into curiosity and just flat out disbelief when he makes his way further in. He stands there mutely taking in the batmobile, the past robin suits on display and all the previous batman suits. His features scrunch up as he starts putting two and two together. All your strange behaviour like all the times he's noticed you sneaking in and out of the house. That one time he saw a katana in your room and all the numerous injuries. This would explain everything, he turns to you eyes filled with astonishment but you don't have time for this shit.

"Stay here, don't move!" You yell at him taking off towards your suit, you rush to put it on all the while cursing yourself for not grabbing the new prototype suit your father gave you that would have initially saved you the hassle due to the suit's nanotech.

"Wait," Hoseok grabs you by the arm when you run past him.

"Please stay, I'll explain everything when I get back" you don't want to waste time explaining all this to him right now.

"No, no, I was just gonna say be careful" he kisses your forehead and lets your arm go. You smile slightly before taking off towards your bike, you jump on giving Hoseok one last look and put on your helmet speeding out. Hoseok watches your figure disappear out the heavy metal doors he assumes lead's outside when someone clears their throat behind him.

"Mr Jung please feel free to have a seat and enjoy the show" Yoongi smirks at Hoseok's confusion and takes a seat in the leather chair in front of the monitors.

The thought of leaving Hoseok alone and defenceless almost makes you turn around as you're speeding through the tunnel but the sound of Yoongi in your helmet stops you.

"Your brothers and father are being held separately" Yoongi informs you and that's enough to have you speeding up, knowing he's there with Hoseok. The tires of your bike squeals as you do a sharp turn back towards the house as soon as the tunnel leads you out through the waterfall. You rev your bike to go faster, the mansion comes into your sight.

"Lounge" Yoongi's voice is calm, your bike smashes through the window of the lounge and screeches to a halt on the linoleum floor. The two goons with guns immediately train their guns on you ready to fire and you're on them before they can pull the trigger. You grab the gun of the one closest to you and hurl it at the other man effectively discombobulating him. Grabbing the back of his neck and bringing him down on your knee knocks the man out while the discombobulated man stumbles around. You grab the remaining goon and throw him out the other unbroken window. A chorus of thank you and the hostages are gone as you cut each one loose. You curse them for not checking or asking about anyone but ultimately not surprised by the rich bastard’s selfishness and kind of relieved. You brothers are there as well, you cut each one loose last and they stand rubbing their wrists.

"suit up" and with that, the boys are off.

"I found Jin, he's still in the ballroom and it's surrounded. You're going to need all the help you can get '' Yoongi watches on the screen as Jin is being held at gunpoint along with a bunch of other guests. Hoseok is anxious even though he just watched you take out two armed men. Namjoon, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook rush past them when they come back in their respective suits, Taehyung gives Hoseok a once over.

"Taehyung, we don't have time" Namjoon reminds him, he growls and follows Namjoon knowing you need help. They meet up with you upstairs and you've managed to do some recon.

"We've got 10 armed guards outside the door, 20 inside and the hostages strapped with about 10 kgs of c4. So we split up and take 2 each. Crawl through the roof and take out the men inside. Stealth is key" you signal for Taehyung to follow you while Namjoon takes Jimin and Jungkook with him. You and Taehyung watch the four guards they're all within arms reach. You can't take them out before they alert someone inside. Taehyung holds up 3 fingers and signals to take them out. You go for the men on the farther left meanwhile Taehyung takes the men on the far right. You kick the feet out of one while grappling the other and they both fall. You punch the closest one knocking him out cold and slam the other guys face into the wall the crack of his skull is unmistakable. Taehyung on the other hand has a guy by the throat and kicked the guard through the wall. He suffocates the man in his hold and drops his limp body on the floor. You all meet up in front of the doors and before you can climb into the roof, the double doors to the ballroom slam open. The bone-chilling laugh echos through the house, well there's no turning back now. You walk through the doors cautiously knowing that he must be up to something.

"Well, well, well if it isn't the bat kids. Black bat, Nightwing, Redhood, Red Robin and Robin. How nice of you to join us but where is the main attraction, WHERE IS BATMAN?" he strolls closer and bows in greeting smiling like a lunatic.

"We're not here to play nice Joker, let the hostages go and we won't hurt you." Namjoon steps forward spinning his Escrima sticks and getting into an offensive stance. You hear Taehyung cocking his gun and you know what he's about to do. You run towards the Joker and kick him square in the chest effectively throwing him to the ground, his head connecting with the floor. You're on him before he can do anything and slam his head back into the floor. His body lays unmoving as you jump up to assist your brothers with the rest of the guards. You pull out your katana and launch it handle first at one, hitting him point blank and spin kick another. You whip out 3 Batarang and throw it at one guy that's firing at Jimin, disarming him. The commotion comes to an end when punches the last man in the throat and kick him. During that time Jungkook has managed to free the hostages and escort them outside.

"The police are on their way you all should go change back" Jin walks over to Joker and checks for a pulse. Taehyung walks over and gets a hold of his collar getting ready to drag him away when Jin reaches out to him.

"What're you doing?" He asks confused.

"What does it look like? I'm taking him into the cave holding cell." Taehyung replies as if it's obvious.

"No, the police are going to take him back to Arkham so they can treat him." Jin insists.

"So he can escape again? There's no curing him, there's no cure for evil" the sirens of the police cruisers are getting louder and louder the closer they get to the mansion. No one moves a muscle, Taehyung and Jin glaring at each other. You hesitate a bit before putting your hand on Taehyung's hand that holds the Joker by the collar, his glare softens as he turns to you.

"Let's just go Tae, please. We have to hurry" you insist softly trying to pry his hand from the Jokers collar. As soon as you feel his fingers release slowly you yank Joker away and set him on the floor cuffing his feet and wrists together. Taehyung's shoulders slump in defeat but you know he's fuming, his fists are clenched.

"Tae-" he stalks off back towards the cave and you run to keep up with him. He brushes off your attempts at talking to him and makes his way to his bike, giving you one last look before speeding out of the cave. You sigh in defeat and slump. Hoseok watches the scene, jealousy rising in his gut. You walk over to Hoseok, the suit retreats into the bracelet, you take a moment to breathe.

"Okay so I have some explaining to do, don't I?" You rub the back of your neck nervously.

"You don't have to do anything, there's nothing to explain, darling." Hoseok caresses your cheek softly and you lean into touch, grateful for him not pushing you for an explanation.

"How about instead I explain everything over dinner this week?" You suggest shyly closing your eyes. Hoseok smiles softly and leans his head on yours. His lips brush yours.

"I would love that"

Trope: Protective Tony

I might make this a part 2 so it can go along with peter defending tony trope. Look. I love cap with all my heart but you gotta do what you gotta do to make yourself happy. So like sorry. Not sorry? That this is a little just a little anti-cap.

Tony Stark was many things.

A playboy. A billionaire. A genius.

But a father was not one of them.

So when Steve saw a kid walk in into Tony's floor, where the rogue avengers where waiting, obviously not noticing them he did not kniw what to do.

Peter had a terrible, good for nothing, horrible day. He was late for class in the morning, his senses were dialed all the way up so he couldn't concentrate on his classes that day so that meany extra homework for him, which meant no spiderman-ing for the night and to put the cherry on top, both Ned AND Mj were absent, that meant he had to endure Flash's sneers and comments throughout the whole day by himself.

All he wanted was a hug from someone. Either his aunt may, dad or his mom (peter still hasn't had the courage to ask pepper if it was okay to call her that but oh well who could stop him if he only thought it.)

Making sure his favorite playlist was on, he mostly relied on his muscle memory to lead him to the tower, while he was scrolling through his tumblr. Maybe that's why he didn't notice F.R.I.D.A.Y's absence or them untill it was too late.

Peter barged in on to his living room. His nose still in his phone humming to Bicycle by Queen. He screamed when he felt himself being thrown to the ground, arms being restrained.

"Who are you? And how did you get here?"

He looked up, of all the people he thought he would've seen he didnt expect The Captian America there with someone else he didn't recognize. He remembered fighting them when his dad, well not dad back then just Mr.Stark, recruited him to help. It was obvious that they didn't really know his identi-

Peter gasped. He felt the bonds on his arms becoming more and more tight.

"Wanda-."

"I'm sorry!, but he won't answer us."

And Peter wouldn't. His dad made him promise that he wouldn't talk to them without Tony or someone he trusted in his room. He looked around for a familiar face.

Pepper? No.

Uncle Rhodey? Zilch

Uncle Happy? Nada

The bonds tightened more. He felt a punch to the stomach that. Who....who would hurt him?

Steve did. He wasn't getting answers and was getting impatient, wondering if he was a shield or hydra operative.

Peter's senses already being dialed up and him recovering from a fractured rib from his patrol last night didn't help his case. He started to panic.

Tony was tired. With dealing with some meetings for S.I and updating F.R.I.D.A.Y, which meant he had to do some things manually since she was down, Walking back to his penthouse where the inevitable was waiting to talk to him, was too much even for him. He was ready to forgive and forget. But was still wary of them being near his family he created for himself.

"Tony!"

"Happy?, shouldn't you be dropping off peter at May's? He had band practice today."

" Last time I checked Thursday afternoons to Monday morning were your days not May's."

Of course how could he forget it's a Thursday today not a wednesday. Tony froze. If his son was here then that meant he would have bumped into him. Who had no idea who he was. Happy noticing the look in Tony's face, eyebrows raised and eyes filled with concern.

All Tony said was "The rogues" and both him and Happy ran to the nearst stairwell to get to their kid.

When they reached his floor they didn't expect him to be doubled over from pain.

All they saw was red.

Happy tackled Steve while Tony aimed a repulser that he always kept on him at Wanda.

" Let. Him. Go."

Wanda let go of Peter, shocked at Tony's reaction.

After getting a hold of Peter, Tony left the room with Happu tailing behind him.

" I already alerted Cho to prepare the medbay and to give him a once over to make sure he's okay."

Tony nodded. His lips pressed into a thin line while making sure he supported Peter's head correctly on the way there.

Cho came out in the hallway where they were waiting.

"He'll be fine other than the burn marks on his wrists and his broken rib due to it being fractured the other night, that should heal by tonight he'll be fine. I gave him a sedative to calm down. You can bring him back to your floor once he wakes up."

Tony walked in and saw his sleeping kid. Bandages around his wrist.

"Oh kid, I promise they won't lay a hand on you again."

" I called May and Pepper they're on their way back."

" Thank you happy. I'm going to talk to those people and set the record straight on how it's going to be on around here now."

Happy nodded curtly. And stood by Peter's hospital door blocking it. And Tony knowing that Happy would do anything to keep his son safe left. He trusted him, that's why he's the head of his family's security.

After a few curt words and a couple shots of his repulsors towards a certain soldier. He made sure they knew not to mess with his son or step foot on his floor or his lab. They didn't know the true extent of his and Peters relationship, of course he kept with the intern story that they give the press. The less they knew the safer Peter would be.

Peter woke up to his family all in his room. Most of them asleep. His medbay room was the biggest on the floor. Enough to space to fit everyone and a couple of couches and chairs. His aunt May and his uncle Happy snuggled on one corner on the couch while Tony and his uncle Rhodey sprawled on the other side. The only one awake was his mom Pepper.

"Hey sweetie. You're okay?" Pepper was always gentle and nice to him, couldn't help himself but smile.

" yeah. Dad kicked their butts didn't they"

She laughed. Peter liked how her eyes wrinkled into the corners and wondered if his birth mom's did that too.

" yeah he did. He'll always be there to protect his underoos"

Peter still being groggy from the sedative, giggled. Struggling fighting of his sleep, Pepper told him to close his eyes.

" Night mom"

Pepper smiled " night petey-pie"

i am sort of a chronic overthinker, so maybe it’s natural. that said, i used to think i didn’t really have an opinion for a long time. i found it difficult to express myself. and i looked up to people who i thought did it well for guidance. so i feel you

i went to a school where we prided ourselves on being able to talk convincingly about things we had zero knowledge about so eh (not that this is a good thing lmao) but i grew past that

i think i realized at some point i just tend to have opinions that are very long winded because i like looking at different sides of an issue. i think part of that is me being a contrary bitch, i don’t like going for the obvious meaning (maybe it’s residual trauma from being raised by someone who had a quasi cult leader type of approach to parenting lol). we are so easily tempted to disappear into the group, or a relationship. i feel like knowing your own mind, defining your own self image, seeing past the easy judgments and surface meanings, being able to understand reality on your own terms, is one of the deepest, most urgent forms of freedom. also empathy - which does not automatically mean endorsement - and trying to understand things and people from their own logic.

we tend to assign error or folly or bad intentions very easily. but it’s often because of the limits of our own understanding. and well, i have a weird brain. i grew up feeling like some sort of alien, often misunderstanding people, social habits, my own mind. so constant overanalysis is to me, the survival strategy that came the most naturally. and so as not to let my brain eat itself, i have gotten pretty good at figuring out what’s relevant and what’s nonsense ( i still could get better at it tbh). but part of me is constantly checking myself so i don’t do something terrible or terribly embarassing. wouldn’t wish that on anyone tbh. i am increasingly learning not to oversimplify myself for public consumption. my mindscape is a jungle, so be it. what’s the shape of yours ?

i also grew up in a lot of different social spheres. i met people from all sorts of social backgrounds, from billionaires who owned private beaches and designed jewllery for fun to people living in trailers without electricity or in the street, from prissy heiresses who believed using the wrong fork was a sin to best friends who had to work since middle school to help their parents. from all sorts of creeds, from wayward soldier priests baptising people in streams to new age ‘shamans’ whose houses smelled of pee, from staunch atheists to adorable nuns living in stone villages in the mountains and wild mama bear witches. from all sorts of politics, from faithful anarchists to political exiles fleeing dictatorships to crypto-royalists and decrepit neo-colonialist conservatives. from all sorts of cultures too. i think that’s the fave part of my childhood. people are just so interesting. but everyone operates within their own specific world, and you can’t judge people from your own perspective. of course there are things that are universally right or wrong but beyond that, you have to get into the world in which they move, understand its rules. see how it intersects with others. a lot of social interactions are role play. once you get that, you get the codes, you can move in any circle. (also : very rich people can be so unbelievably boring. they buy into their own hype so much, like spoiled babies. nothing to be very impressed about.) People wear façades and play different roles to different people; that’s not always a bad thing, after all parents have to be strong for their kids even when they’re scared. But now you’re an adult (or getting there) don’t let yourself be too mystified

also : power. dynamics of power are everywhere all the time. if you’re not aware of them, that’s a mark of privilege. ( in the end, who profits ? is this building empowerment for people and communities or is it stripping it away ?) but they’re not totally all consuming either. there’s also always agency, and chaos, and possibility. and compassion.

i think it’s important to accept that it’s okay not to have an opinion on everything. and also that it’s always growing, evolving, deepening. it’s possible you taught yourself, out of survival instinct or habit or something else, not to trust your own heart/brain/intuition/experience. I don't think it's anyone's natural state to just consume numbly. i’m sure you can step beyond that, everybody can. also ; learn how to embrace being destabilized. there is always this one moment between knowing something, learning you don’t really, and then getting a deeper perspective, that is scary, but it’s okay. you can come back to your center. like any sort of growth, really engaging with difference implies discomfort ; bear it, it’s worth it.

i think any opinion that is too static is likely to turn into bullshit in the long run. like a good wine, it should gain in complexity with age. also : read up on sociology/anthropology if you haven’t already there’s just so much good stuff in there (and a lot of bullshit too lol) about what it means to be human and cultures and how minds work and symbols and etc etc. and find good news sources because it can be very easy to feel disgusted by the world otherwise. and read as much and as diversely as you can

find things to love about thinking ? for me it’s ; i don’t believe in this binary between mind/body, feelings/reason etc, i think it’s bullshit and they all influence each other. and so does our environment. we learned to think by looking at and interacting with nature. some of our neurons are in our stomach. we’re made of star stuff. we grow by engaging with others. and not to sound like a hippie but that shit is breathtaking bro. we encoded the world with stories and symbols and use them to tell ourselves and each other stories and built community and we’re all the time engaged in this web weaving. so i see and i want to see more and more thinking like this organic, tangible process.

in the end, what is it important for you to have an opinion about ? i think it’s about passion, and love, and justice, and truth. what do you want to be moved by ? what do you want to honor with your possibilities for learning and knowledge ? where you invest your energy and time, you invest your life.when you have something you are passionate about, it will be much easier to express the subtlety and depth of a meaningful opinion about it. and then you can apply that to other areas of your life.

personally i want to (i have to) live like a diplomat, as a balancing act, with elegance and the ability to make tough decisions with grace, moving between all the layers of life and bearing gifts from one to the next. and i want to be able to move people, and give them the kind of stories and knowledge that are tools for them to heal and be happy and make the world better.

i have my work to do, like everyone else, of sorting through my shadows and making the dream stuff intelligible. in the end it’s all about finding an authentic life. your own inner logic. the bonds that nourish it, and what you want to give.

and i think once you find that is for you, i think finding your voice, an opinion that is truly yours and not copy pasted from some one else, will be much easier to start weaving. but don’t worry ; it happens in small steps. i bet you’re already on your way.
