[TRANS] Stray Kids, Appointed Black Dog Campaign Honorary Ambassador, “That Abandoned Dogs May Find Happiness”

Group Stray Kids have been appointed as Honorary Ambassadors for animal rights group care ‘Black Dog Campaign’.

The ‘Black Dog Campaign’ Honorary Ambassador appointment ceremony took place on the afternoon of October 31st at the Care Adoption Center. On this day, in addition to Care President Park SoYeon, Care activists, and all of Stray Kids’ members attended.

The ‘Black Dog Campaign’, is an ongoing campaign since last year working to knock down discrimination and prejudice against black dogs. Having also opened a ‘Black Dog Project’ photo exhibition at the end of last year, in March of this year they also released their black dog syndrome film together with INNOCEAN Worldwide, sending the message of, “adopt a world without discrimination and prejudice.” and from July 4th to August 26th, they also opened a photo exhibit called ‘SAVE the BLACK dog’, with photos from photographer Kim Yong-Ho of C-JeS Entertainment artists.

Black dog syndrome calls out the bad image placed upon black dogs throughout cultural history and works of art, which cause the tendency to hesitate to or simply avoid adopting black dogs.. With the results of the campaign, Care Adoption Center’s trend of adoption of black dogs is rising. President Moon Jae-In’s adopted ‘Tori’ is also a black mixed-breed, Geum-dong, who was called the senior among black dogs, Guseul, Kkae-bi, Nain, Loofy, Ryun, and Keurongie have all been adopted.

Care President Park So-Yeon says, “I wish for ambassadors with cultural influence to widely spread positive recognition of animals,” adding, ‘I especially hope that with Stray Kids, who have been appointed honorary ambassadors for the Black Dog Campaign, we can break down the discrimination against black dogs.”

In their honorary ambassador acceptance speech, Stray Kids said, “Without regard to color or breed we hope all abandoned dogs can find their happiness again.“ They also expressed their aspiration to, "work hard to help the adoption of the Care Adoption Center’s black dogs as honorary ambassadors of the Black Dog Campaign.”

Until now, broadcaster Kim Mi-Hwa, announcer Kim Joo-Hee, violinist richard Yong-Jae O’Neil, actor Kim Hyo-Jin, professor Seo-Min, beauty YouTuber Ssin, etc. have been appointed as honorary ambassadors for the Care animal rights group, this time Stray Kids are the first to be appointed as ‘campaign’ honorary ambassadors’. This time is also the first time an idol group has stepped forward as an honorary ambassador for the animal branch NGO.
