Today’s tea. Bought 13 months ago in Venice, on my last trip before the pandemic. The shop is hard to find, in a narrow alley, but I seem to find tea anywhere I go. Classic style place with the tea in large cans the clerk would open so we could smell each tea. The shop clerk worked solo (it’s a small store) and only spoke Italian to us. We don’t speak Italian, not really, but that was fine since the food words are the ones we know! Her message seemed to be: this shop is not for tourists. But once we had been there a while she warmed up to us and our nouns-only Italian. The label says it’s a Ceylon black tea with cinnamon stick and tangerine peel.
