Since it's now June it's also pride month!!

Pride month is celebrated so that the years of struggle the lgbtq+ community faced for civil rights is recognised

Its in June as thats the month where the Stonewall riots took place in New York as part of the fight for rights for the lgbtq+ community. It marks the start of the gay rights movement in America that has led to the freedom gay people have today

Stonewall has helped us to be able to celebrate the freedom we now have to be ourselves

So this month especially, encourage diversity and individuality. people deserve to be themselves and live their life their own way. in honour of everyone who fort with stonewall for civil rights for the lbgt community, don't be afraid to be you and stand up for what is right

Trans rights are human rights. 🏳️‍⚧️

Recently Florida senate passed a Bill that will legalise the kidnapping of trans kids. This ISNT RIGHT. why is it so hard for some people to see that? And Missouri has become the first state in the US to BAN trans kids and adults from receiving health care which is surely a human right so why is it being taken away?

Also it was voted to ban Zooey Zephyr, Montana's only trans lawmaker, from speaking for a whole year. When other trans people and trans allies attempted to fight for here the police were called for them to be arrested.

And Florida's Dont Say Gay Bill has changed recently meaning that ANY mention of gay or trans people is completely banned from kindergarten up untill 12th grade.

Future generations are supposed to be encouraged to be their own person and be who they are. They shouldn't have to feel like they have to hide for their own safety. What's so bad about people being who they were born to be? about being being themselves? about people living their lives their own way?

We have come so far. From when homosexual relationships used to be illegal to now gay marriage being accepted. We were making progress. Why are we going backwards now?

During the week we also recognise the contributions of lesbian people worldwide and raise awareness of issues that the community still have to face today.

To anyone who needs this right now,

If you got out of bed today, well done. I'm proud of you and you should be too, because you got out of bed. You did it, you took that first step. This is progress from yesterday, better than the day before an improvement from three days ago. You did it. So if getting out of bed is better than yesterday, take it.

I don't care if you didn't manage to go downstairs or make a cup of tea yet because you still made progress, you still got out of bed. Give yourself credit for that. You should be proud of yourself for finding the strength inside you to do that, for taking the first step.

And if you didn't, that's ok, for now, because your still here, reading this, you are still fighting.

You are worth fighting for.

Self-love. Self-worth. Self-care. It sounds so easy when it's just words on a screen; it looks simple and straightforward. But it's far from that. It takes time to build the confidence in yourself but don't give up. If it's hard then surely that makes it worth it?

There's always going to be setbacks, things that get you down, things that make you feel like this could be the end but having that self-esteem that you've worked so hard for will make it so much easier to overcome.

Accept yourself for who you are, give yourself credit, you deserve it. Giving yourself the self-love that you're owed is hard but you are worth it.

There is a boy in my closest

The boy is friendly, but stays hidden

I wish I could tell someone but its forbidden

When I look in the mirror there he is

I became jealous of who he is

He says he wants to come out

Hi,

I don't know if anyone will read this but it's worth a shot...right?

Here I would like to create a place that celebrates individuality, explores identity, increases awareness of mental health and to hopefully encourage people to stand up for what's right.

By creating this page, I am hoping to promote equality, to speak about things that need to be spoken about, to let people know that they're not alone.

There is always going to be challenges, but it will be worth it in the end. When that rainbow finally emerges after the rain you have delt with, that sense of achievement is irreplaceable.
