Why haven't we ever gotten a proper adaptation of Iris West and Barry Allen's dynamic in live action Flash media? Because every time they get adapted as a couple, its always done badly in an uncomfortable way.
In the comics, they meet on a crime scene because Iris West is a reporter, Barry Allen is a CSI and that's that. This is the base of where we're starting at in terms of what to adapt from
In the 1990 Show, Barry is still a CSI and Iris is a computer graphics artist. She is also 9 years younger than Barry. I'm going to assume Barry is near or at least in his thirties in the show, because him dating a minor feels off. Thankfully Barry and Iris were not the focus couple in the show. More to critique on Iris though, she looks nothing like her comic counterpart and might as well be a totally different character.
In the 2014-2023 Flash TV Show Barry is still a CSI and Iris becomes a reporter over time. No real problem with that until you remember how they are basically step-siblings. I can see that the writer's intent was to make Barry and Iris childhood best friends to lovers, but did they have to make them basically step-siblings?
Then there's the most recent adaptation of the Flash in the movie. I expected this to be done better, but Barry's awkwardness prevents their chemistry from being palatable. It doesn't help that in Zack Snyder's Justice League, he caresses Iris' face while running at super speed. Again, I see the attempt to show his desire for connection but feels like he can never have that, but again its just weird. And it isn't supposed to be that weird. They knew each other in college, Barry was just too hesitant to talk to her.
So what have we learned today kids? Every adaptation of Iris West and Barry Allen's relationship makes things pretty weird for no reason. Same with Barry being himself with Iris, its always some degree of weird.

Flash Headcanons
These are headcanons I have about the Flash (comics, not tv show) and all of the lore and other characters.
Barry is on the autistic spectrum but never got an official diagnosis as a child due to Eobard's meddling. Iris is actively trying to help him get a diagnosis. Barry's special interests include comic books (specifically the Flash) and science.
The Wests have ADHD
Wally's ADHD influences certain aspects of his connection to the speed force.
Eobard has a secret base in the present that's a time vault full of flash memorabilia.
Eobard has been one of the many bullies Barry had during his childhood because of how Eobard can warp time around him.
The reason Black Flash doesn't go after Reverse Flash or any other Negative Speed Force conduit is because even thought the Negative Speed Force feeds off the regular Speed Force, the Speed Force pulls energy from the Negative Speed Force to recycle it.
Eobard will furiously correct anyone who gets anything about the Flash wrong.
Barry has read the Dune books. Wally couldn't get past the first chapter of Dune.
Internet forums speculate if Jay Garrick's Flash is the comic character brought to life (Because if you didn't know, his Flash existed as a comic book on Earth Prime if I remember correctly) or he is just an old cosplayer that is a speedster.
Barry has nightmares about Flashpoint.
Wally has nightmares about being stuck in the Speed Force and losing his family again.
The Rogues have a movie night sometimes if they can agree on which movie to watch (Fast & Furious is always brought up)
Barry often tests his capabilities as a speedsters, writing his findings in a small journal detailing the different skills you can accomplish with the speed force. Eobard has a digital copy of this book after it was published.
Old Barry gets catcalled "dilf" by random people, he blushes every time he hears it.
Reverse Flash has considered resurrecting Daniel West just to kill him in front of Ace West all for taking Eobard's name.

Daniel West: Wal-lace?
Wallace West II: That's right! And its Wallace, dad!
Daniel West: No. W-a-l-l-a-c-e, I named you.
Wallace West II: You ruined my life!
Daniel West: How could I "ruin" your life? I wasn't even there!
*Daniel gestures to his gravestone*

Teen Titans Pokemon Teams
Here are my picks for the various pokemon the different members of the Teen Titans would choose. Cyborg, Nightwing, and Robin will not be on this list as I've already done their Pokemon teams on the Justice League and Batfam pokemon team posts.
---
Starfire
Female Pyroar- Being the princess of Tamaran, Kori having a female Pyroar made the most sense to me. Also fun fact about Tamaranian evolution (the Darwinian kind), they descended from a feline species.
Togekiss- Togekiss are a peace-loving pokemon. This is a reflection of Starfire's more cheerful personality.
Orange Flower Florges- It's dex entry from Scarlet reads "Its orange flowers fire off powerful beams, attacking as if they were a battery of artillery."
Tamaranean Jynx- A Fire/Psychic type, this pokemon's kisses are able to sap information from opponents' minds. They've adapted to the hot and climate of the planet. Tamaranean Jynx is has the abilities Flame Body and Forewarn. Starfire's Jynx specifically has the ability Flame Body. This pokemon is a reference to the famous kiss Starfire shared with Robin.
Tamaranean Gardevoir- It's loyalty to its trainer has made it become allowed for its evolution line to become fighting/fairy (Gallade however Psychic/Fairy). Now utilizing aura to fight, its signature fighting type move Aura Bolt can inflict burn onto targets. This is both a reference to Starfire's starbolts and loyalty to her friends. Also, it gives a funny connection to Barbara also having a Gardevoir.
Mega Charizard Y- Starfire has the ability to generate yellow sunlight with her body and move at incredibly fast speeds. Same goes for Mega Charizard Y
Due to there not being many fire type alien pokemon, I initially struggled with this one. But then it occurred to me I can just make Starfire have regional variants.
---
Raven
Shiny Delphox- Being a sorcerer, Raven having Delphox reflects Raven's ability to see into the future.
Golduck- The choice for this pokemon stems from the gem on Raven's forehead
Absol- Another pokemon that can see into the future but is revered as an enemy.
Galarian Slowking- A cursed meta pokemon, Raven's Galarian meta slowking is a more efficient sorcerer than other Galarian Slowking. Its not only capable of using toxic potions but also utilize dark magic itself. Its new ghost-type move Nevermore causes the opponent to be both confused and be pelted with pecks. The Galarian Meta Slowking is now a Ghost/Poison type.
Mismagius- You can guess why.
Mega Gardevoir- A reference to Raven's white uniform, Gardevoir gains immense power during mega evolution.
Raven's pokemon team was fairly simple to come up with.
---
Beast Boy
Rillaboom- Beast Boy is able to transform into all kinds of different pokemon because of his connection to the Red. But that wouldn't have happened if it weren't for him contracting a rare disease that could only be cured by a serum made from a green monkey. Of course, in the pokemon world, that green monkey would be caught and trained by Beast Boy.
Eevee- Beast Boy's Eevee is unique, being a meta pokemon that has a connection to the red. Its ability Eevolvee allows it to transform into any eeveelution during a battle. It also gains a new move called Red Beam which changes its type and damage type depending on whatever eeveelution it transforms into.
Beast Boy doesn't have a full pokemon team because in the pokemon world, he would be able to transform into a green version of every pokemon. If Tofrog from Lockstin&Gnoggin's Lockemon series was real, B.B. would definitely have one.
---
Aquaman (Jackson Hyde)
Sharpedo- Because Jackson Hyde's father is Black Manta, some of his pokemon are the pokemon his father has. Sharpedo being one of them.
Politoed- Politoed is meant to reflect the kinder nature of Jack compared to his father
Female Basculegion- Color coordination and his father had the male version.
Cetitan- Another land and sea pokemon.
Dragonite- A pokemon that grew up in the sea but developed in the air.
Samurott- A pokemon that could have become evil, but didn't
I don't know much about Jackson, I don't keep up with the Aquaman comics or Young Justice tv show. So suggestions are aplicable
---
The Flash (Wally West)
Cinderace- Because of Cinderace's design having elements that remind me of the Flash, Wally has one too. It also a Meta-Variant.
Blissey- Wally is the most caring out of all the flashes, being the one who often checks on the injured whether they be friend or foe.
Raichu- Wally is also one of the more aggressive and petty of the Flashes, hence why he has a Raichu.
Gallade- It is a proficient fighter just like Wally.
Archeops- A meta-variant, This Electric/Flying Archeops moves at incredible speed, having the Speed-Force ability. This is a reference to the dromaeosaur (raptor dinosaur) that Wally encountered when being dragged through time.
Zeraora- A meta-variant of the mythical pokemon, its connection to the speed force is immense having priority for every move it uses and an increase in speed every turn thanks to its new ability Speed Pulse. Its new attack Moment Fist is based on its speed stat. This is a reference to how Wally is the fastest Flash and perform the move Infinite Mass Punch.
---
Kid Flash (Wallace West II aka Ace West)
Grafaiai- During Ace's introduction in the New 52, he is seen spray-painting a wall before Barry arrests him (Goddammit Barry, you're a forensic scientist for the police, not an actual officer!)
Pawmot- Imbued with the speed force, Meta Pawmot has an ability called Momentum Sap where any physical contact with this pokemon can lower the enemy's speed and increase Pawmot's. This is a reference to one of Ace's abilities as a speedster.
Rotom- Imbued with the speed force, Meta Rotom has the unique ability to form constructs out of electricity using its new ability: Electromagnia. Electromagnia allows for Meta Rotom to transform into its different forms while in battle while levitating off the ground. This is a reference to speedster's relationship with electromagnetism and how Ace can form speed force constructs to create his suit.
Ace doesn't have a full team as he is still just a kid.
---
Impulse
Scorbunny- Being the grandson of Barry Allen, Impulse having a Meta-Scorbunny makes sense. It has the Speed-Force ability.
Pikachu- Again, as the grandson of Barry Allen, he would have pokemon similar to Barry
Plusle- As the son of Dawn West, Bart has a Plusle to reflect the fact he is the son of a tornado twin (yes, Inertia has Minun)
Like with Ace, Bart doesn't have a full team.
---
Donna Troy
Themysciran Nidoqueen
Falinks
Armarouge
Chestnaught
Kangaskan
Zacian (With Wondrous Sword)
Donna's pokemon team is modeled after how her New Earth self prior to the New 52 was a magical duplicate of Diana.
---
Arsenal
Hisuian Decidueye- Fits his color scheme, he's an archer, and Oliver has one.
Houndstone- Roy was undead as a black lantern for a period of time.
Tinkaton- Roy loves tinkering and making gadgets
Rotom- Similar reasoning with Tinkaton with the added fact that Roy can hack into tech.
Clawitzer- Again, because of tinkering and gadgetry, but with the added fact that he can use weapons efficiently.
Magmortar- Color scheme, gadgetry, and type balancing.
Arsenal's team mainly consists of pokemon that would aid him with technology.
---
Tempest (Garth)
Grapploct- This is a reference to topo.
Atlantean Reuniclus- Garth can utilize magic to manipulate water and so Atlantean Reuniclus is a representation of that ability.
Primarina- Similar reason as Atlantean Reuniclus
Wishiwashi- A nod to how one of his abilities is marine telepathy
Poliwrath- Noted for being incredibly strong, and Tempest is very strong
Lugia- Being that he is a magic user of the sea, I felt him having a water-adjacent pokemon would be a good idea.
Tempest was somewhat difficult to come up with considering not many pokemon fit his power set.
---
Ravager
Farigarif- Matches her color scheme to a degree and reflects her powers partly.
Medicham- This pokemon reflect's roses ability to predict enemy attacks
Samurott- Rose has skilled swordsmanship
Bisharp- Because her father would definitely own a Kingambit, this pokemon made the most sense to me. Rose's Bisharp would carry an eviolite.
Ravager's team is built of pokemon that reflects her main skills.
---
Terra
Carbink
Stonejourner
Rhyperior
Garganacl
Crustle
Golem
Rocks!
---
Superboy (Conner Kent)
Palafin- Being a clone of superman, Conner would also have certain pokemon that reflect his heritage. One of those being Palafin.
Boltund- Similar reasoning as before but with the added note of how in the TV show Titans, he was introduced with Krypto.
Alakazam- Being part Lex Luthor and Sammy Stryker, this is a double-nod to his heritage and tactile telekinesis.
Silvally- I can definitely see Conner escaping with one of the Silvally Lex Luthor made to stop Superman.
Superboy's team is meant to reflect his genetic heritage.
---
Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark)
Jigglypuff
Thievul
Raikou- Being the granddaughter of Zeus, Cassie having a legendary electric pokemon felt like a no-brainer to me.
I really struggled with Cassie here as I don't know much about her. If anyone can give suggestions, that would help

I genuinely believe that in the Arkham series Matt Reeves is putting together will have Paul Dano's Riddler as the main protagonist and the Joker will be both a friend-to-enemy antagonist to the Riddler. Why? Because there can only be one man who can love Batman.

Okay so ever since I was a little kid I've had a hard time writing in a straight line, and my writing has ended up curving sideways and diagonally. I was said to have 'nice' hand writing mostly bc of being taught cursive in an old school prior to moving to an an area and school where it wasn't super common. But the same school that taught me to write cursive taught all that how to write on the line stuff and it didn't stick very well despite attempting to teach the skill. When working on projects that required writing on posters, this issue was especially evident, as the crookedness would show and the sizing of the letters would gradually become disproportional/inconsistent as I wrote out more letters and would look wonky. Probably because there was so much broad space and I had no way of comprehending it. This kind of thing happened when writing on regular sized, lined paper, but not as noticeably. It's still like this to this day. I read that this could be related to spatial awareness issues. So gotta ask ppl w ADHD/autism :
Please reblog for sample size!!!!!!

People forget aromantics exist because long ago back during the Great Queer Wars, Master Sorcerer Oracae (A name that totally isn't an an anagram for AroAce) utilized the power of platonic friendship to demolish all of their enemies. And then people claiming to be Christian covered it up.

Barry Allen is such a fun character. He's a 1950s midwestern forensic scientist. He will accept literally anyone into his family. He endlessly forgives as an attack measure against his villains. He and those villains played Santa together. He is the paragon of hope and the heart of the universe. He rambles at Batman about cold cases. He is the cosmic avatar for time and when they say he runs them all to the future that's super literal. He gives his friends Terrible relationship advice. Everyone loves him his family would do anything for him. His mere existence determines the status of a universe and he can change it in an instant. He thinks he's some normal guy on the justice league. He can connect himself to every living thing on Earth and change their standing in time. He marvels in space at the Earth wondering if Clark feels like 'this' everytime he stares down

These aren’t even Headcanons. They’re the actual canon. Well most are.
Have some headcanons of the league being genuine friends with Bruce to combat all the aus and headcanons that the league know nothing about him and his family :))
Barry and Bruce get along super well. Bruce and Barry often compare cases and love talking about detective stuff together. Both go to each other to geek out about cases, more so Barry than Bruce, but either way they enjoy it. They are also the most introverted on the team, so they often will have moments when they need a break and find the other doing the same thing. They both find a lot of comfort in silently being able to enjoy each other’s company. Dick and Wally get along so well because Bruce and Barry were always down to hang out with each other.
Hal and Bruce obviously don’t get along super great, but they respect each other massively. Bruce actually took advice from Hal about the Batplane, and has even let him fly it. Their birthdays are also a day apart, so the league often throws shared parties for them. They have a friendly competition to see who can make a better cake everytime. They both lose, of course, because neither are good at baking. Luckily Barry doesn’t seem to mind finishing them off for everyone else.
Diana is very close to Bruce as well, but out of everyone, is mostly likely to actually touch him without losing a finger. Diana has a habit of picking up the closest person when excited and swinging them around, and when Bruce happened to be said person, all the other leaguers nearly lost it. They are also each others favorite sparring partners, as they both feel as if they learn something new every time.
Clark and Bruce are clearly besties, but are super competitive with one another. They often compete to get each other better gifts, Clark’s being insanely thoughtful, and Bruce’s being insanely expensive, as well as trying to mess with the other while at work. Clark will help the daily planet write about how Batman fell off a roof during a league battle, Bruce will post on Twitter every time Clark makes a spelling mistake. It’s all in good fun, but the league totally takes advantage of it to get the two off their backs.
J’onn is also one of Bruce’s favorites. It took a while for Bruce to warm up to J’onn, mostly because the mind reading thing put him on edge, but as soon as Bruce saw the tactile advantage, he was all over it. J’onn loves exploring Earths culture, and often enjoys watching movies with Bruce, who is somewhat of a movie buff for the classics. Bruce’s tendency to over analysis them is very enduring for J’onn, as the constant chattering is informational, as well as remind him of the constant telepathy on Mars.
Oliver and Bruce have known each other the longest, as their families wealth has caused them to run into each other before they were heroes. They often like to tag up at undercover missions and during business deals, as the familiarity is quite nice, especially in such a secretive occupation. Being able to cancel a meeting because Scarecrow just decided to go gas downtown Gotham is much easier to explain when your business partner gets it. They also have a one sided competition, but it’s only on Oliver’s side. He ties hard to outclass Batman both as Queen Industry’s and as Green Arrow, but it never seems to work. However, Oliver is a surprisingly good sport about it.
Dinah is one of Bruce’s other favorite sparring partners. Her skill is similar to his, and fighting someone who also can’t lift up a bus is a nice change of pace from time to time. Dinah often tries to tell him gossip, of which Bruce always denies wanting to hear, but gives in quite quickly. Often times people chalk up Bruce knowing what’s going on as him being Batman, but he’s actually just getting the information from Canary, who is much better at reading social cues than him. He knows when he needs to outsource lol.

Violent Apprentices
MEANWHILE in the bat cave, our heroes talk about their periling issues...
Flash (Barry Allen): ...and now he's back from the dead, and while he isn't killing as many people as before, he is still hurting people to extreme!
Batman: And did August have this level of violence before he became Godspeed?
Flash: No, August was like any other officer in the CCPD. Which is saying something, we have one of the nicer police forces in the country. (That's just a headcanon. Yes ACAB, but these bastards are nice)
Batman: The way you're describing him reminds me of one my old protege. Jason Todd.
Flash: The Red Hood?
Batman: Yes. Except, Jason learned the hard way of why he shouldn't kill. Although he did return to using guns.
Flash: Really? That's seems very...reductive.
Batman: Yeah, I was surprised too.
Flash: Heh, imagine if they met. Wouldn't that be terrific.
Batman: Don't make me laugh, Barry. It would be the end of the world if that happened.
Flash: Yeah it would...
*Meanwhile in a more crime-orientated area of Central City, danger was afoot as the Red Hood monitored Penguin and Captain Cold and The Rogues.*
Penguin: As you can see here, we have the latest equipment in subzero freezing based weaponry. Perfect for handling those pesky speedsters! Wank!
Captain Cold: How much for the freeze grenades?
Red Hood: Snart, they're free if you really wanted them.
*All weapon were aimed at the anti-hero, ready to fire.*
Penguin: RED HOOD?! You followed me all the way here!
Red Hood, with both of his guns brought out: Yeah, because you're not supposed to be here. Now pack things up, and waddle your ass back to Blackgate before I make.
Captain Cold: I don't think you're the one to talk here. Me, my buds and sis take on the Flash every day. A guy who looks like he came from Mortal Kombat and carries guns doesn't scare us.
Red Hood: Really? Well, I've fought Mr. Freeze before. You're just a watered down copy.
Captain Cold: Oh you are so...*a look of fear strikes Cold's face*...MIRROR MASTER NOW!
*Mirror Master rapidly fired his mirror gun at the equipment the Penguin had presented. Penguin squaked both from fury and surprise. He cursed at Captain Cold as he and the Rogues teleported away in a flash of light. But then came a brighter light. A white blinding light. Screams from Penguin's men followed as the light zoomed around the area. Red Hood reached for something in his utility belt but stopped when the white blur caught and picked up Penguin.*
Penguin: What are you??
*The man in the white and gold costume resembling the Flash's uniform pulled the crime lord closer.*
"I am Godspeed"
Red Hood: Put the crime lord down!
*Godspeed glared at Red Hood and the guns he pointed at him with. The masked vigilante tossed Penguin aside and approached the Gothamite. Red Hood pointed at Penguin.*
Red Hood: Go anywhere, and I will make you a legless bird, got it?
Godspeed: I can stop a pullet the second it leaves a gun, who do you think you are?
Red Hood: I'm Red Hood, I usually work in Gotham City.
Godspeed: Red Hood...the crime lord?
Red Hood: For a time, now I just do vigilante work against Gotham's elites. Basically what batman did before the crazies arrived.
*Red Hood walked over and cuffed Penguin.*
Red Hood: I'm starved, wanna grab some Big Belly Burger?
Godspeed: ...why not?
---
*our Anti-heroes munched and chewed on their burgers as they discussed their various adventures as masked vigilantes while sitting in a big belly burger.*
Red Hood: Are you sure you didn't hear of me? Because I had similar reasoning when I fought Batman. Although it was focused on just killing the Joker.
Godspeed: That was 100% my idea, I had no intentions of copying your actions. I also fully intended on killing everyone in the Flash's rogues gallery. But I did emphasize Reverse Flash because he killed Flash's mom. I honestly thought Flash would agree with me. I feel dumb for thinking that now, and for wanting to kill those people.
Red Hood: Mutual feelings, except I'll never feel bad for trying to kill Joker. That fucker has it coming.
Godspeed: How is he still alive? I know the Gotham justice system is bad, but I didn't think it was that terrible?
Red Hood: It is shit, but he just keeps coming back. Rumor has it, he's immortal. I don't believe it though. I think he was just a guy who wanted attention.
Godspeed: That makes more sense to me. He does seem like an attention whore. Reverse Flash is similar in my opinion. Except he specifically wants the attention from Flash. I mean he did kill my brother just to help motivate me into being Godspeed so that I would be enemies with the Flash.
Red Hood: He killed your brother? Joker killed my mom the same day he killed me! Well, he used a bomb, but still.
Godspeed: Joker killed you? Reverse Flash killed me!
Red Hood: That is so coincidentally strange!
Godspeed: I know!
"Oh you have got to be kidding me..."
*Both vigilantes look and see Barry Allen in his civilian clothing*
Red Hood: (Whispering) Is that...?
Godspeed: (whispers back) Yup. (speaks normally) What? Never seen two vigilantes eating at Big Belly Burger?
Red Hood: They do it all the time in Bat Burger over in Gotham.
Barry: ...I'm tired.
---
Flash: (while running through Central City) And so they're just talking about how similar they are. I think they're friends now.
Batman: (in the bat cave listening to the communication link) I'm not surprised, Red Hood was following a lead that Penguin was going to give new weapons to the Rogues.
Flash: Oh...wait what?!

I miss a lot of things. What I particularly miss is having someone that would FaceTime or call me regularly that wasn’t my mother. I didn’t care if we talked about nothing or everything, it’s just their presence I enjoyed.
Nowadays, nobody really offers or tries.
I had a friend who did once. Almost every night he’d call me on Instagram. He’d play video games while I acted as a guy in the chair. We would make casual conversations. It was nice.
I miss him.
He’s not dead or anything. I just destroyed the relationship. It wasn’t the first time I set fire to that bridge. I wasn’t the healthiest person back then. He had every right to abandon me. I had hurt him enough.
I wish I weren’t alone.
