Armin questioned.

Watching you longingly from afar underneath the bangs of his long blonde hair, he began to overthink about what went wrong between the two of you. The rumors that kept circulating his mind about how you also had feelings for him. Was driving him insane with all the conflicting emotions in his weak heart.

Doesn’t she feel the same way? But if that’s true then why…?

If the rumors are true then why’re you avoiding him? The day before the both of you were in the library leisurely reading books sitting next to each other as if you were connected by the red strings of faith. The atmosphere was so blissful a lovely distraction from the chaos in a world that seems so hopeless.

But now he’s witnessing you ignoring his existence entirely almost as if he didn’t exist in your heart to being in with. And that made him anxious with insecurities running rampant until it turned into twisted delusions.

Has she found another?

No, that can’t be! What do I do? I can’t let her go. I need her. I need her. I need her. I need her—

“Hey did yall hear about what’s happening between Armin and Annie?”

A distant voice snapped him out of his obsessive train of thoughts, and he automatically tuned into the conversation of gossip stemming from a group of scouts.

“Duh everyone knows that those two will hook up eventually, but my heart goes out to that girl who had a crush on him.”

Another voice chimed in with a slight huff of pity going out to you.

“Yeah, hasn’t Armin always had the hots for that Titan girl? I heard that he went to see her last night at the stables”

Armin went rigid at the mere mention that he would choose that abomination you utterly despised over you. Calming himself he couldn’t help but let out a tiny sigh of relief realizing that it was not as bad as he originally thought. Although, he did have an encounter with her, trust me when I say that it was far from that of a friendly front.

Now that he had a clear vision of the situation, he knew exactly what he needed to do to mend the bridge between him and his darling.

Him being all nice to Annie was just a facade to get her guard to the lowest crumbling point. The woman was already running on a half life carrying the guilt of her past warrior self. He pretended to be empathetic towards her, feeding the flames of her innermost desire to end it all by stating that she had suffered long enough by the hands of fate. And that as a former ally he’d assist in making sure she had a nice send off straight to hell.

And eventhough He knew it was wrong of him to enjoy the simpering thought of how jealous you were at the mere inkling idea that he was interested in Annie. He couldn’t help the excitement drumming along in his heart at how that was a sign of your apparent love towards him. A telltale sign of how you wanted him.

He nearly got weak in the knees at the vision of you and him getting together as a loving couple. Especially since he knew that his goal was within reach, all he had to do was set the plan in motion. In few days time you’ll soon see how much he truly loves you, and how much he’d be willing to be your faithful companion.

And what better way to show it, by giving you the chance to get revenge on the traitor you loathed with all your being.

With that in mind Armin quickly headed towards your quarters, his steps becoming upbeat with a small hopeful smile on his face while he daydreamed about you rewarding his efforts with a kiss.

STEEL AND SILK (001)

wooyoung walks up behind you, making sure to tighten the straps of your odm gear. his affectionate gesture catches you off guard, causing you to blush slightly. he doesn't seem to notice, though, as he's too focused on laughing at a joke san just cracked. playfully, he slaps your butt and winks at you before returning to his place among the soldiers. your smile fades when erwin begins his speech about the upcoming expedition beyond the walls.

you and the boys have finally joined the survey corps, embarking on your first mission to explore the dangerous areas outside the walls for expansion. it's natural to feel scared, but you take comfort in having your boys by your side.

the speech ends, and you all are finally able to relax and move around. while some are practicing with their odm gears, you find a quiet spot, observing the boys as they laugh and joke around. your attention rests on connie and jean teasing mingi, who's screaming about adjusting the saddle on his horse and how they're not letting him. a warm hand touches your back, and you turn to see hongjoong's soft eyes looking at you.

"are you okay?" he asks gently, and you can only smile in response, struggling to find the right words to convey your emotions. his understanding gaze puts you at ease.

"it's okay, baby, i understand," he says, sitting down next to you. for a while, you both remain silent, the laughter and cheers of the corps filling the gaps. he pulls you closer into his arms, planting soft kisses on the top of your head.

"you know," yunho chimes in as he hands you a bowl of stew mikasa cooked, taking his own seat beside you both and scooping some into his own bowl, "it's funny how the highest-scoring soldiers in the tests are the ones sulking."

"shut up," you laugh, blowing on the hot liquid before offering a spoonful to hongjoong so he can taste it.

as the night goes on, you all gather around the campfire, the realization of venturing beyond the walls, where danger lurks, dawning upon you all.

pervert!armin who could see approximately 6 different ways to deal with the current situation. he could acknowledge that they were all selfish. for a long moment he stared at your neck- it was one of the first things he noticed about you, the delicate way it curved, the way you could see your heartbeat in your veins. so he stared at it, for a long, long moment and contemplated squeezing it until you fell limp in his arms. at least that way he could hold you, he could be the last person to hold you. he could hold your head under the water in the sink and watch it bubble, your last words to him lost in the violent surge of water into your lungs. the collection of kitchen knives on the countertop seemed the quickest way, but it would be messy. he remembers how annie’s jugular gushed red. he remembers the smell of it, metallic and sour. he remembers how viscous it was. he doesn’t think he’d like to see yours spilled. his aversion to your pain eventually puts these thoughts to rest. some far off voice in the back of his mind berates him for his idiocy. calls him stupid for letting you sway him. he decides to agree; he doesn’t enjoy having his intellect questioned, but he never could help himself when it comes to you. he settles for succumbing to his cowardice and chooses to beg for your mercy like the twisted, lovesick fool that he is, that you’ve turned him into.

pervert!armin who collapses on his knees in front of you. any semblance of rationale leaves him and his mouth moves before his brain can even really process it. he babbles: forgive me. i can be better. i’ll be better i promise, just forgive me. i can’t- i can’t do this without you. forgive me. you’re sobbing now, choking on your tears and the air in your throat and the bile bubbling in your oesophagus. he reaches a hand out towards you and you recoil, head hitting the cupboard behind you as you bring your knees to your chest. but he has to touch you. he clutches at your knees like a fucking suppliant and grabs the back of your neck, forcing your forehead to touch his. words struggle to escape you, they lacerate your throat like broken glass and you think you can actually begin to taste blood. face scrunched in frustration and eyes glazed over in fear, you manage a pathetic please don’t. please just- please armin i can’t- just don’t hurt me. you promised. you promised. perhaps you knew him better that he thought, or perhaps he wasn’t being as subtle as he should have, eyes flitting from you to the sink, to the kitchenware. it does matter anymore.

pervert!armin who’s kind words and sweet smile that you fell in love with are nowhere to be found. he looks.. desperate. feral. so you close your eyes because it hurts to look at him. it fucking hurts. and when you feel the soft press of his lips over yours you sob and shake your head like a child because there is nothing else you can do, all you can think about, all you can feel is how much this hurts. your eyes are still squeezed shut when you feel his presence leave you. you’re trying to blink through tears but your vision is hazy and your head throbs. he picks up his laptop and stands. he calls your name softly, though he doesn’t know if you can hear him. he hopes you hear him say i love you, hopes you know that he means it. you don’t know how long you sit on the kitchen floor. the sky is dark, the coffee on the counter cold. and armin is long gone.

pervert!armin who you don’t see on campus anymore, let alone your shared classes. you figure he transferred or takes classes online or something, he’s not the type to drop out, no, armin doesn’t give up so easily. but you can feel his presence everywhere, because he’s embedded in the places you went together. he lives in your memories of lunches in the park and study dates in the library and makeout sessions behind the first year dorms. though maybe it’s the lingering cerulean stares as he watches you from across the road of the cafe. he just needs to make sure you’re doing okay. your cheeks look hollow, your undereyes more shadowed. you’ve changed your usual drink order. you smile at the barista. he hopes you’re doing okay.

pervert!armin who you know is responsible for the text from an unknown number at 11:48pm on a friday night. i love you. he watches from the familiar trees opposite your apartment as you shoot up out of bed and stare at your phone. he watches you absentmindedly tug on a braid- oh you changed your hair. it suits you. he waits, and he watches. you read the message over and over again, you will the three words to twist and morph on the screen into something else. you don’t even know what you want them to turn into, probably anything but this.

pervert!armin who doesn’t breathe as he watches you type, looking down at his burner to see- yes! yes you’re typing. he wants to run right up to your door and bang and bang until you let him back into your arms. he considers it.. until he realises how long you’ve been typing. he frowns and his pulse begins to quicken in his chest. then, he considers walking into the oncoming traffic.

and finally pervert!armin who can feel his heart crack and vision blur and his world slide off of its fucking axis and derail its orbit when he reads your response. he looks up to see you at the window and slinks further into the trees, but sees you looking in his direction. maybe you saw him. maybe you didn’t, he doesn’t think it matters. he watches as you wipe at your tear-stained cheeks and close the blinds. he reads your text again. and again to make sure. then, he allows himself to cry.

“goodbye, armin.”

Sasha was looking in your direction spontaneously, obviously very anxious about heading into titan territory despite the weapons the holds tightly in each hand along with the lead of the horse she's on. The amount of trees the area the group is heading into only makes her more fearful for your safety

What if your house freaks out at the first sign of a titan? What if you get kicked off while everyone else is preoccupied with one titan to realize another one is approaching you? What if she just can't make it to you in time no matter what happens? Sashas face reflects all these thoughts clearly fearful of her surroundings more for your life than hers

The idea that she might return without her baby side by side weighs heavily on her shoulders enough that the first sign of a titan, be it a abnormal or not, she jumps the gun and rides up beside you basically pulling her dearest onto their own horse not caring about how you might protest nor the weapons on the horse she refuses you to ride. You guys can aid the others against the titans the moment Sasha releases her death grip on you and dries her tears
