a/n: I LIVE!! ok. Attack on titan has my heart, and I literally wrote this when I was about 14 and saw Galliard in the manga, but this is the like, new and improved version. in this, all the scouts are spiders, and idk why. but i head-canon that eren would have spitting spider like abilities, and levi would be a camel spider bc they’re known the cut through their prey. i hope everyone has a nice day and why not reply / reblog, or send in an ask or request.

‘You find anything?’ Jean asked, dangling from his web. You swung between the buildings, sticking to one to reply.

‘Nothing useful. There’s just a bunch of old debris from that attack years ago. Still no life or anything.’ You could hear your brother grumble, the noise muffled by his mask, but the annoyance still filtering through.

‘I could’ve sworn this was the way Zeke went. Damnit.’ You stood in silence as he argued with himself.

‘Oi. There’s no point getting worked up. Just keep searching. I’ll go check Liberio , then meet you back here in 30 minutes.’

‘Yeah whatever.’ You rolled your eyes. If Jean was good at anything, it was complaining. He watched as you slowly blended into the environment, making the most of your chameleon-like ability.

‘You need to stop acting like such a baby.’

‘Like you can talk.’ When there was no reply, Jean realised you’d already taken your leave. ‘Stupid.’

‘Have you seen anything?’ Armin asked through a small earpiece.

‘Not yet. But I doubt anything is here. It looks so deserted.’

‘Sounds just like your territory.’ Jean teased from his own position. ‘Do a ground search. There’s only so much we can see from the air.’

Usually you’d ignore his ideas, but this one wasn’t bad. Detaching your web, you lowered yourself to the ground, careful not to get caught in the torn up main street. You were right in your assumption. The place was completely deserted, mind a few pests here and there. The only noise was the soft buzz of a store light.

‘Hey Armin. What’s this place’s yearly power use?’ There was a loud crackling noise from the earpiece, followed by silence. ‘Armin? Jean? Either of you there.’ Again, nothing but crackling. ‘Shit. I lost reception.’

You did a scan of the remains of buildings lining the main street, and shot a web towards an only stone one.

Most of the buildings were in a rough state, very few having windows, and even fewer having all 4 walls intact. One thing that did stick out though was that random buildings had lights on, illuminating the street.

‘Why would there be lights on in an abandoned city?’ You thought. Your thoughts were interrupted by a high frequency from the mic.

‘Y/n!’ Armin suddenly shouted.

‘Hey! Why’d you have to shou-‘

‘You need to get out of there right now! Something big is-‘

The mic cut out before he could finish.

‘Hello. Armin. Come in. Something big is what?’ With no reply, you lifted yourself to the top of a building, trying to reconnect. ‘Armin? Hello?!’ With no reply, which meant no signal, you were practically alone. Well, you thought.

The dumpster thrown at you gave him away.

Narrowly dodging the flying rubbish container, you looked in its direction. Nothing. Only the empty alleyway.

‘I know you’re there!’ You shout, hiding in your surroundings. ‘Otherwise, I wasn’t aware Shiga had flying objects.’ When there was no reply, you frowned. Crawling to the edge of the building, you looked down, finding nothing. ‘Damnit.’

As you go to stand, your earpiece crackles once more. ‘-ehind yo-‘ Armin howled before you’re suddenly pushed into the concrete.

‘Shit.’ You think, trying your best to get up, only to have your arms pinned down by a gooey black substance.

‘Don’t even try.’ A raspy voice above you whispers. ‘Nothing gets out of this. Not even spiders.’ You felt a hand grip your head, turning it to look up, and you came face to face with 2 large white eyes, surrounded by the same stuff as what had you trapped.

‘What are you?’ You stammer, trying to keep your confidence. It laughs. An evil laugh.

‘We are Venom.’

‘We? Th-There’s more of you.’

‘Relax.’ This time, the voice is different. Instead of deep and raspy, the creature had a softer voice, with a more comfortable tone. ‘There’s only 2 of us. And I'm a human, just like you.’

You watched as the goo melted away, revealing the face of a man. A man with a strong jaw, but soft eyes. An undeniable attractive face, but you couldn’t say that, even if you wanted to. This guy had been decided as a villain the minute you were attacked. You watched as he stepped out of ‘Venom’, coming closer to you. As well as an attractive face, he was also quite tall. Or, taller than you at least.

‘So, what’s a pretty lady like yourself doing in my home?’ He asked. You still frowning, moving to attack him, but being restrained by Venom. ‘Come on. It’s an easy question. You can’t have wanted anything valuable. There’s nothing here.’

‘Who are you?’ If you couldn’t escape, you’d get as much info as you could before someone else arrived.

‘Who am I? Well, I’m glad you asked. Porco Galliard. And you’ve met Venom.’

‘Unwillingly, but… yes.’ Venom didn’t seem to talk your comment so nicely, pulling your arms in opposite directions. It felt like the symbiote was trying to tear you in half. ‘Ah shit.’

‘Hey. Venom. Quit it.’ Porco said, turning to him.

‘Oh please. Let me tear the spider apart. What’s the point in having her around? Her friends will be here soon.’

‘I’m aware of that, but it doesn’t matter. God. You have terrible people skills.’ If Venom had pupils, you guessed he probably would’ve rolled them. ‘In fact, let her go. What kind of person holds a guest down like that?’ You sighed when the squeeze on your body subsided, and you were able to stand. For a second, you thought about going camo again, but if they’d caught you the first time, what was stopping them from catching you again.

‘Don’t try.’ Porco interrupted your train of thought.

‘What?’

‘You’ve seen him now. He’ll find you.’

You stare at the symbiote for a moment, then move to the blonde's eyes. You felt sympathetic for them both. They were stuck in this shitty city. You were only a visitor. Or, a hostage depending on how you looked at it.

‘So what am I meant to do? Wait here for the rest of my life?’ You ask, tightening the grip on your fists.

‘Well that’s an option-‘

‘No, its not!’ Venom cut in. ‘She’s seen me. I get to eat her now. That was the deal.’

‘No. That’s with bad guys. She isn’t a bad guy.’

‘She’s a spider!’

As the 2 argued, Jean’s voice finally reached a signal.

‘2 minutes. I’m nearly in Liberio now.’

‘Please hurry.’ You whisper.

‘What?’

Looking back at the 2 in front of you, you find 4 narrowed eyes.

‘Oh come on. Look, you’ve scared her now. This is why you need better social skills.’

Opting to not come between the 2 bickering, you shot a web at the next closest building, dragging yourself back. You heard a faint ‘hey’ followed by the sound of walls being grasped, but you don’t look back to see what it is exactly. You had a pretty sure idea, and looking back would slow you down. For now, all you had to focus on was getting out of Liberio. And seeing your brother in the distance was your first sign of luck.

‘I’m perfectly fine, Hange.’ You informed, phone being held to your ear by your shoulder. ‘I wouldn’t even count it as an attack. The guys just wanted to talk.’

Hange Zoe is the Captain of the current Spider-People. It wouldn’t exactly be called an organisation, but they’d found that recent, there was more Spiders than ever. Why exactly, they didn’t know. But regardless, Hange wanted to make sure there was a place for them.

‘Even if you think you’re perfectly fine, you may not be. Come around so we can get someone to check. I don’t care who, as long as it isn’t you or Jean. Preferably, I’d like Armin to check.’

‘I’m not getting anybody to check.’ You argued, storming around your kitchen. ‘If I was dying right now, then I’d be… well… dying.’

You could hear Hange sigh on the other end of the call.

‘Spider’s aren’t invincible, my dear. You of all people should know that-‘

‘And I do! I just…’ Now it was your turn to sigh, dropping your mug and holding your phone properly. ‘I’m fine, Hange. I’ll get Armin to check over me tomorrow. I’m just tired is all.’

The line went silent, the only indication they hadn’t hung up being that the call was still active.

‘First thing tomorrow, get Armin to do a check over. Get some sleep. We’ll take tomorrow.’

They hung up and you stared at the screen for a moment.

All spiders had a canon event of some sort. You could barely call yours recent, and it happened to a lot of spiders at the same time, but a large-scale earthquake in your home town 8 years ago, and watching a 50 metre building come down on your parents did the trick. Did the trick for you and your brother.

You wipe your hands over your face and groan. It’d been a long day.

The pizza that’s been sitting in your fridge for almost a week was practically screaming at you the minute you opened the door. You chucked it on the counter and thought about heating it up for about a second, deciding cold pizza is superior.

‘So you have (eye/colour) eyes?’

You’re blending into the wall and shooting webs before you actually see who the person is.

‘How on earth did you-‘

‘We followed you.’ Venom admits, coming awfully close to your face. ‘We figured it’d be easier to eat you when you’re alone.’

‘He figured that.’ Porco adds. ‘But yes. We followed you.’

You’re clinging to a cupboard door, looking around for ways to get to your apartment door when your phone starts ringing.

‘Shit. Jean.’ You mentally curse.

‘Venom. Back up. Let her answer it.’

You stare at Porco, slowly revealing yourself, and he laughs at the way you’re gripping the cupboard. But he nods towards the phone, mouthing a “pick it up”.

With shaking hands, you take your phone and bring it to your ear.

‘Hey.’ You say.

‘Hey. Hange just texted saying you refused to do a check up. Are you all goods?’

‘Y-yeah. I’m fine. Just tired and a little shaken after today.’ As you’re speaking, you don’t take your eyes off the blonde standing in your apartment, seeing him smirk but obviously listen to your call.

‘Do you want me to come around?’ Porco’s grin melts away instantly, and he shakes his head. The decision was really up to you.

You could’ve said yes. You could’ve gotten your brother to come to your apartment, and both Porco & Venom may have left straight away, but something in you does the opposite.

‘No. But thank you. I’m probably going to have dinner then go to sleep. I’m going to see Armin tomorrow for a check up anyway.’

‘You sure? Ok then. Make sure to look after yourself, Y/n. Call me if you need anything.’

‘Yep. Tell Marco I say hi.’ You ended the call, and watched Porco’s look of surprise as you climbed down from the shelves. ‘You happy?’

Neither he nor Venom speak, and you think for a moment that you’re imagining them there. Until you shoot a web at him to make sure and it sticks to his face, sending him into a fit of trying to get it off.

‘Ok, you are actually here.’

‘Of course, I’m actually here.’ He whines, shaking the webs off him. If he hadn’t broken into your apartment. you might’ve laughed at him, but the circumstances were different. With a bit of your fear dispersing after his reaction, you go back to your pizza, taking a slice of it.

‘You want some?’ You ask, mouth half full. Venom frantically nods, and you smile a little bit. ‘Pizza fan?’

‘He’s a fan of anything with meat on it.’ Porco informs, getting the last of the web away. ‘Just throw it and he’ll grab it.’

You do as told and watch as Venom contorts to catch the food. Your smile stays, and you offer Galliard a piece, but he declines.

‘So why did you follow me?’ You ask casually.

Porco seems to freeze, trying to think of an excuse but Venom chimes in.

‘He thought you were hot. And he never gets any girls in Liberio.’

‘That’s only because there’s no one in Liberio!’

You’re slightly taken back by the confession, but you burst into a fit of laughs. ‘Hey. What’s so funny?’

‘You followed me this far just because of that?’

‘W-Well, like I said, we never get any girls in Liberio, so I think it’s justified.’

You nearly took yourself out laughing so hard. Tears were in your eyes as you fell onto your kitchen floor, clutching your stomach for life. Porco just glared down at you, a dark red tint on his face.

‘I could kill you right now and you’re laughing at me!’

‘I’m sorry. I’m sorry. It’s just too funny.’ You apologise, attempting to stand but falling into another fit of laughter.

Venom grinned at Porco, and Porco just flipped him off.

When you calmed down, you breathed deeply, too exhausted to stand up.

‘Jokes aside, that is really sweet, I guess.’ You pat the spot next to you, and Porco hesitates but takes it. ‘If you hadn’t tried to kill me, that is.’

‘I wouldn’t call it trying to kill you.’ He reasons. ‘More like-‘

‘A shit attempt at flirting.’

‘Will you fuck off?!’

Venom melts into the blond’s back, and it disgusts you at first, but then realise that it could be worse.

A blanket of silence covers the kitchen, you both just staring into space when there’s a knock at your door.

‘Shit.’ You curse, jumping to your feet to answer. ‘Armin?’

‘Y-Yeah. Jean told me you needed a check-in after that thing attacked you.’

‘Yeah, but I was gonna do it tomorrow…’ You only realise then that that thing was sitting in your kitchen. ‘If that’s alright.’

‘It’s probably better to do now, if you don’t mind. I promise it’ll be quick. I just need to do a blood test, then check for any visible wounds or bruises.’

‘Uh. Yep.’ The ‘p’ is stretched out as you open the door, allowing your friend to come in. The minute he’s in, you basically sprint around to check your kitchen. It’s empty.

‘Everything ok, Y/n? You seem on edge.’ Armin asks, sitting up a blood bag.

‘Yeah. Yep. Just fine.’ You answer, rubbing your face again. ‘Do you want some pizza?’

‘As you all know, the festival goes from the main street to the subway. Your job today is to stay on the lookout for anything dodgy, or anything that could harm the mayor and her wife.’ Levi told, looking over the spiders standing in front of him. ‘You are not to engage unless you are certain they are in danger. If you are certain, then you are to report immediately, and keep casualties to a minimum. Understood?’

‘Yes, sir.’

The festival was to celebrate 10 years since the earthquake, and to commemorate those that didn’t make it. The mayor, Historia Reiss, and her wife, Ymir Reiss would give a speech, showing respect for each victim, before travelling around the city to orphanages were children whose parents died were welcomed. Unknown to the public, Ymir Reiss was in fact a Spider, which meant that on days such as the festival, it wasn’t hard for the couple to get that extra bit of protection..

‘How are we meant to know if something is the right level of dodgy?’ Connie asked over the comms-device. ‘I mean, some of us might think that people surrounding the place in pairs is dodgy. We probably look like a damn cult.’

‘Just anything out of the ordinary, I guess.’ Jean replied. ‘Although, a bald guy and a chick stuffing her face is pretty peculiar.’

You all heard Connie send a string of curses are your brother, but you just laughed under your breath.

The event was generally pretty safe. Everyone lost someone, some more than others, so everyone was more of less on the same page about the festival.

‘How did you 2 get stuck together?’ Eren asked, looking at the duo through the crowd. ‘And how come I got stuck with Horseface? Why am I even a pair?’

‘Just focus on the mission, please.’ With Levi’s command, the comms fell quiet.

The day was nearly over, and so far nothing bad had happened. The odd protester here and there, but police were able to deal with them without you needing to step in.

‘All good on my end.’ You checked in. Everyone else replied in the same state. ‘Pretty good year if you ask me.’

‘Nah. Some drunk asked how one of Santa’s elves escaped’ Connie screamed. ‘And then he had the audacity to start singing carols to try lure me in.’

‘Suck it up, Connie.’ You could practically hear Connie fighting the urge to reply, but fighting the Captain seemed to weigh out that option.

‘Hey guys. I got something down the end of the main street.’ Armin reported. ‘I think it’s dormant for now, but I might need someone down there soon.’

‘I’ve got it.’ You replied, slowly pushing your way through the crowd. ‘Can you tell me what it is exactly?’

‘It’s like a black goo.’

You stopped in your tracks, frowning.

‘Come again?’

‘A black goo?’

‘I’ve got a visual.’ Eren added. ‘Definitely ain’t dormant.’

‘Do you need back up?’

‘I might in a minute.’ Without further discussion, Eren decided this was dodgy enough to engage, throwing his mask on and swinging into action.

The minute he moved, the symbiote threw himself off the building, shattering the windows as he propelled towards the spider. Eren grunted when he came into contact, goo covering his arms and immobilising him.

‘Shit.’ He cursed, doing his best to try escape.

‘Surely I can eat this one.’ Venom hissed, inching his face closer towards Eren. ‘There’s plenty of spiders around.’

‘Fuck off.’ The brunette cursed. He tried to shoot a web, only for it to be absorbed into Venom’s body.

‘Come on. I can get it over and done with quickly.’ Venom’s mouth was surrounding his head when it suddenly began choking, grabbing at its neck. Eren took the opportunity, spitting acid into the goo. This time, it melted away and he was able to pull a hand free. Free enough that he was able to latch onto another building and pull himself out of the symbiote.

‘Thanks, Y/n.’ You stayed clinging to Venom, arms wrapped around where she knew Galliard was inside of him.

‘H-Hey. Time out.’ The blonde shouted, voice muffled. You loosened your grip, still holding them both.

‘Get the fuck out of here before we kill you.’ You whispered. Venom grunted, but you suspected it may have been Porco instead. As you went to pull your arms away, the organism wrapped around your arms, pulling you into it.

‘I’m gonna need backup.’ You said over your air piece before Venom ripped it out of your ear.

‘You can eat this one, Venom.’ Porco smirked. You winced, feeling the symbiote’s teeth curl around your arm. Just as you thought it was about to bite your arms off, a blinding light cut through his body, eliciting a deafen screech from Venom.

‘You brat.’ Levi degraded as he swung past, cutting through Venom again. You felt as it pulled you away, keeping a hold until it dropped into an empty street.

Venom unravelled, leaving Galliard standing there.

‘Long time, no see-‘

‘Get out of here.’ You hiss, urging him away. ‘If Levi catches you, you’re dead.’

Whether he believed you or not, he sprinted off, disappearing as the other spiders came down the street.

‘Where did it go?’ Jean asked, obviously ready to kill the thing that attack his sister.

‘I’m not sure, sorry.’ You say, hands on hips and out of breath. ‘It dropped me and disappeared. I didn’t see where.’

‘I’ll go find-‘

‘Leave it for now.’ Hange decided. ‘It seemed to have no intention of harming anyone other than us. And we have no idea what it is, so until then, we keep on looking out for it. Return to post until Historia and Ymir are done, then return to base.’

‘Yes, Captain.’

Your apartment was quiet when you got home. Lights were off apart from the one in the kitchen.

‘Please say you chucked the pizza- what are you doing?’ You said, acknowledging the blonde sitting on your kitchen floor.

‘I’m having withdrawals.’ He whined. taking another swig of his can. You just laughed.

‘Too fucking close today.’

‘It wasn’t even. You were perfectly fine, and it wasn’t like he was actually going to bite your arm off.’

‘I thought about it.’ Venom said.

‘Yeah well. Get the fuck out of my body.’ You replied, walking over to the other imposter. Porco took your hand and (with great discomfort), Venom transferred back to his normal host's body.

‘That’s better.’ Porco sang, suddenly brought to life. You shook your head with a smile, opening the oven to see he had in fact chucked the pizza in to heat it up.

‘Are you staying the night?’

‘Well, it’s probably easier than trying to get back to Liberio right now.’ Porco stood up, wrapping his arms around your waist gently and resting his head on your shoulders. ‘The lights finally gave out.’

‘They’ve shut it down?’

‘Mhm.’

‘So where are you going to stay now?’ You place your hands over his, stroking the back of his palm. The man sighed, breathing hot air against your neck.

‘No clue. I’m sure there’ll be somewhere in Liberio that still has power.’

There was a moment of silence between you two, and you leaned back against his shoulder. No one lived in Liberio but them. You knew because you’d been lying to Hange about it in order to keep that small amount of power going there. But they must’ve done a scan themselves and seen no one.

‘You could move in with me?’ The suggestion seemed like some wild thing. Something that hadn’t even crossed Porco’s mind. ‘Then you wouldn’t have to put in as much effort to get stuff, or to come see me.’

The arms around your waist tightened, and you felt a smile press to your lips.

‘We wouldn’t annoy you?’

‘Porco. We’ve been together for 2 years. If you annoyed me enough, you would’ve already.’ You spun in his arms to face him, hands finding his jaw. ‘And Venom can sleep in a dog box.’

‘I am not sleeping in a box!’ The symbiote shouted, enraged by the idea. ‘Let me actually bite her arm off!’

You laughed, pressing a chaste kiss to your partner's lips before reaching for the pizza.

‘Venom. You want some?’

this theory has an actual canon basis which, frankly, drives me insane.

eggman never making another metal sonic- wouldn't it be easier for him to win if he could just build an army or metal sonics.... unless he couldnt?

in sonic generations you fight silver in crisis city. you fight metal sonic in stardust speedway bad future. despite those two events being erased from the timeline.....

metal sonic being obsessed with sonic. he thinks he IS sonic. why in the world would eggman program him into thinking that... unless maybe he was the real sonic, after all?

everything about sonic heroes but specifically metal sonics line about seeing him as he is now, no longer afraid. and his attempt to turn everyone into robots.

I think there's just enough scraps of information to make a hypothesis: that metal sonic came from the bad future, where eggman succeeded in taking over the world and turned sonic into a robot. the future eggman either wanted to get rid of sonic or decided to give it to his past self to "secure his victory". eggman, excited, takes metal sonic under his wing, but this effects the timeline and causes eggman to lose instead of win. this sets off a chain of events that leads to our sonic winning and going on to bigger and better adventures; sonic was supposed to fail on little planet, but thanks to the butterfly effect, he succeeds. and metal sonic is left in the aftermath with no future to go back to, with no home to return to.

metal sonic being sonic is some next level horror type shit that drives me nuts. the idea that the embodiment of freedom and free will and the indomitable spirit being turned into the very oppressor he fought against, completely unwilling, turned into a weapon of war instead of an attempt at creating peace. your entire identity is stripped from you- your personality, your ability to properly feel emotions, your ability to think for yourself and do as you please- gone. forced to obey the very man that turned you into this metal monster, that either killed all of your friends or turned them into monsters just like you. forced to serve the man who's actively destroying the world you spent so long trying to keep safe, polluting and turning the beautiful planet as cool and blue as you into an industrial wasteland.

did eggman realise his mistake, in his haste to take over the world, and sent metal sonic back to stop his past self from taking over? did eggman simply want to get rid of metal sonic when he became faulty, when he started to overcome his programing? did eggman send him back to give his past self an even better advantage? or did sonic manage to do it all himself, after months of fighting the programming?

doesn't matter. what matters is that metal ends up in the past, ends up back in the hands of the monster he served for months on end, the monster who turned him into a monster, the monster that finally tamed wind and chained freedom.

but the worst thing of all.... is seeing your past self.

free and unburdened and flesh. free and fast and winning. free. winning.

its you, but its not you, because this sonic succeeds where you failed. this sonic stops eggman from using the time stones to conquer the world, this sonic defeats you in a race and saves amy and saves the entire world and you. failed. again.

because, as time tells, as you continue being forced to fight against your fleshy doppelganger, like an attack dog, over and voer again, you realize the pattern. he wins. you lose.

he gets stronger, goes on tougher adventures, sees things you only ever dreamed of seeing back in your shitty little cell when eggman was holding you captive. he defeats monsters and men and gods alike and he grows stronger and older and better and wiser and you don't change. you're still that stupid eleven year old who got captured by your worst enemy, you’re still that faulty, cracked weapon of war who's starting to lose sight of your mission of serving eggman. you're still you, the sonic that fails, the sonic that keeps failing because you can't get stronger, because you cant get better and faster and wiser.

and its driving you insane, being the sonic that loses, being subservent to the man who took away your ability to bleed, and something snaps in your coding, and you can finally see clearer than you have in years.

you lock up the man who turned you into this beast and you hunt down sonic's friends, stealing their data, copying everything you can. you can't defeat sonic by yourself, because you're the sonic that loses, but if you copy their abilities, if you become something more than sonic, perhaps you can finally be the sonic that wins. you can finally succeed and he can finally fail and after years of that asshole rubbing it into your face, at being constantly reminded of just how badly you fucked up, you can finally come out on top.

you'll prove to the world that you're the real sonic, that you're the sonic that wins, and you'll force everyone to feel the same terror you've felt since you were eleven and you watched your flesh melt into titanium. you'll turn this entire world into robots like you, into a mechanical wasteland, and you'll never, ever, ever be alone again. finally, they'll understand your pain, they'll understand you, and they'll respect you, because you became the sonic that won.

but things don't work out. because the universe seems to favour this sonic, because maybe he's just got more luck than you, because maybe you were just doomed from the very start. but sonic wins- he and his stupid friends that used to be your stupid friends win and they defeat you and you're left in the aftermath, once again, as the sonic that loses.

and then eggman finds you and reprograms you and you are back to square one. and you are back to being a puppet. and you are back to being strung along. and you are back to being the sonic that loses.

Let me just say that your writing is absolutely immaculate and it should be praised 24/7. You're amazing!!! The way you've managed to write the characters to the point where I'm like "damn this could be canon" and it makes everything so much more easier to picture too.

I honestly feel so sorry for her (the reader) especially when she achieved something so great, in record time, and was at an all time high only for her to be hit by a wave of reality when she realised she was all alone and no one was there to see her do it. It was very realistic, I'm sure many of us have experienced that feeling before, of doing something we finally deem as amazing only to have no one there to celebrate such an achievement and it really had me hurting for her 😭.

Now let's talk about how she did not want her father to see her injury, not because she didn't want to worry him but because she didn't want him to get angry at her which is so telling of how jake has been treating her 😢 honestly her bleeding out in front of him is the cruel punch in the face that Jake 🖕🏻🤠🖕🏻 deserves. The fact that she thought he was mad when he told her to be quiet but really it would've been to just save her energy so she could stay awake and that being the last thing she heard???? yeah im crying from the pain!

I absolutely love her relationship with her mum, it's so heartwarming to think about but also so harsh on Neytiri, not only was her child dying out in her arms but she missed out on a rite of passage the whole family should've been there for. Considering we know Neytiri is very traditional that must hurt really bad to have missed out on such a big ceremony. (AND I JUST READ YOUR RECENT POST HER SPREADING THE BLOOD LIKE THE PAINT IS SO MORBID I LOVE IT)

Now the relationships between the siblings....honestly i have mixed feelings but it's like good mixed feelings ✌🏽😭 neteyam is a sweetheart and it makes so much sense that they understand one another, being the oldest. The way he panicked when he couldn't find his sister 😔 there's so much pressure on him too and it just feels good knowing they have each other. I'm honestly really interested in the relationship between the siblings, especially lo'ak and the reader. Because they are literally the same, other than the fact that lo'ak knows when to go quiet 😶‍🌫️ you'd think they'd bond over that but instead he was just taking the piss out of her and excited for whatever punishment was heading her way. And she did get punished to the point where she's dying. Idk I'm just so interested in the sibling dynamics, I think you did mention a few times that she usually cuts in whenever her siblings are getting scolded at (probably lo'ak lmao) which is so sweet to think about. How she doesn't want her siblings going through what she has to. The difference in treatment especially for her, compared to Kiri and Tuk, I'd be seething 🥊🤡 because that is so shady. Even if she had a small amount of resentment towards them I honestly couldn't fault her because you can't help it when you see that difference.

Honestly I love this family that you've built. And I'm so interested in seeing how/if this conflict will resolve. Please don't let it be resolved within a paragraph 😧 the daddy issues are too strong to be resolved with something simple.

IM AWAITING THE EVENTUAL "I SEE YOU" THATS GONNA HURT IK IT BUT ITS WHAT SHE DESERVES!!!! Imagine him being like "I see you, sweetheart" (cue my immediate sobs)

She told him to fix this every single time and he didnt, thinking it wasnt urgent and physically protecting his family had to come first, to him, he has to keep them alive first and they can handle whatever come their way together. and now this incident has proven how wrong that mindset was. as her mother, neytiri is beyond wrathful, but as his mate, she is disappointed and miserable. not only has she missed her child's most important moment she wanted to put in her songcord she may lose her for it. she has had enough 😭 and the blood paint is going to be so OOF....

NOW ONTO THE SIBLING DYNAMICS! ABt lo'ak and reader,, like, lo'ak can be a cheeky bitch because they're so close, you know? they havent emotionally bonded as neteyam and reader did because lo'ak would play it off whenever feelings are involved at that stage in life but he likes his sister bc she knowingly wants to take all the fire directed towards him bc she wants to throw hands with her father 😭 he's like ur generic younger brother you fight over your belongings a lot, but he's also like jake, he'll do something in the fic that im looking forward to see you guys react to! 🤠

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love this blog, and I also wanted to take the opportunity that so many Kakasaku stories are shared here to express some frustrations I have when I’m reading a fic.I wonder if maybe there’s somone out there that share the same opinions so that’s why I’m here with a little list of things that bother me in a Kakasaku fic:

1- The “Sakura-Chan” thing. Kakashi does NOT call her like that, and frankly it only makes sense when Naruto says it. Kakashi calling Sakura like that is very ooc and not cute AT ALL for me.

2- Ino always being portrayed as the “sex expert”, pushing Sakura to dress sexy or whatever as if Sakura was a virgin prude with no sensuality of her own. It pisses me off, like why humiliating Sakura like that?

3- Sasuke being portrayed as a villain in OU fics: Sasuke suffered a lot of trauma and was heavily manipulated by Itachi, Orochimaru and Obito, but even if he was rude to Sakura sometimes, it was because he felt he had to push people away so he didn’t loose loved ones again. He deeply cared for team 7 so in OU fics, there’s a lot of ways you could write a good Kakasaku without having to bash Sasuke because canon Kakashi and Sakura understand Sasuke very well, it doesn’t make sense for them to hate him.

4- Last but not least, let’s be clear about what is slow-burn: slow-burn is when the relationship and chemistry are being constructed gradually, not rushed or urgent. They go slow with respect to each other’s limits. Writing a scene when the couple is about to have sex and then something/someone comes up and gets in the way is NOT slow-burn!!

Anyway, I just needed to take some things out of my chest because these little details really bother me when reading a story. Thanks for the attention, and keep up the good work!

This is where I realised I forgot most of canon and most of my Naruto knowledge now I think is purely from fics because I don't remember at all if Kakashi calls her Sakura-chan in canon or not! I don't mind it so much in fics, plus when it's used there is always a moment when feelings happen and he stops calling her -chan, so I don't so much mind this one. But I also prefer when he doesn't call her -chan, but instead sees her more as an equal in the field also (but idk if this is maybe a wstern bias I have and perhaps am not interpreting the japanese suffixes quite right).

I don't like the shy virginal Sakura portrayals either anymore (I think I did when I was a teen because I could relate to her that way). But also given the age difference and that in many fics Sakura is 18-19, I get the shy angle. But I just don't like reading that anymore, give me bamf, confident, sexually secure Sakura any day. However the flirty Ino is a trope I LOVE in fics.

(What does OU mean?) I get this but also I never really liked Sasuke too much. As an adult I understand that all his problematic behavior stems from being hurt and manipulated like you said, but the way he treats Sakura in canon is still very poor, traumatised or not. I get where it comes from but it's still not good behavior. Anyways in fics I also prefer when he is not such a bad guy, but a more sort of complicated situation. I also like the fics where he is dead but Sakura has only lovely and loving memories of him, which also complicates the situation

I am not sure what the actual fandom definition of slow burn is?? I am realising?? Because when they keep getting interrupted it's slow burn for the reader cause you want it so bad but it keeps getting delayed... but yea that's not so much slow burning feelings tha tthe characters have. While what you are describing is also friends to lovers (alt enemies to lovers) which is its own tag... so idk!! I'll take your word for it tho

ok now that i finished my "absolotly canon because i can now put my love for him into cold canon facts that i observed"

its time for things i know about the Eighth doctor that i know because i headcanon them and so they are real TO ME 😭 (you are more then welcome to adot any of these of course, if anyone will want to)

- an old one that i still think is true: MY GUY IS A MUSICAL NERD, he absolotly listens to some bops as he is flying the tardis around, confusing Charley as he bops to Naughty (because he would LOVE Matilda come on) he defenetly listen to A LOT OF THEM in the beginning of his adventures, Everybody's talking about Jamie, beetlejuice and so on. (and this is also me projecting of course but like, what other doctor but him?? he would have dance paries all the time)

but serosly, the guy littiraly lives Matilda, listens once to Quiet and he is like "i have never heard something more relatable in my life", Charley adores Six and he honestly can't blame her, a fan of Everyone's talking about Jamie and beetlejuice for sure he is as well!

even before Charley gets into it, he will drop quotes and little melodies and Charley would have to be like ??? oh he is at it again (i will expand upon this headcanon because i have a lot to say about it hehe)

- has panic attacks!! i think he has a lot of problems with emotinal regulation post movie, recovering from fucking attempted body snatching, so i think in the first couple of episodes he would have a lot of trouble balancing his overexcitment and his more dark and almost emotinaless anger states so i think it makes sense that he would have a lot of issues with regulating from the fucking traumatic shit he is going through with Charley, i think in the beginning its more prominante and he gets a little better about it, ie btter with handeling them and hiding them, and i also think that Charley also gets hem which is why it makes sense they sort of have to help each other through it his shutdowns (which i also headcanon he has) go through a jouney is also fasinating to me, like, i headcanon him having trouble to being able to contain meltdown because fuck i am distressing everyone else fuck- so through time he ends up having extreme shutdowns instead, the kind that he just instently drops to the floor expressionless and just... stayes there for a while (i might a bunch of drabbles about it too fghfddfg) ALSO SCHERZO IS BASICALLY HIM REALISING A LOT OF HIS PENT UP EMOTIONS AND HE IS TRYING TO REPSESS WHAT HE IS FEELING BUT THEN HE HAS NOCHOISE AND JUST EXPLODES

- the reason he gets amnesiac a lot is because of the events of the movie, basically having the master try and dissconect his mind from his body so close to his regenaration basically makes his brain to be a lot more frail then other doctor's brains and it tends to slip away from him a lot because of this!!

- NON BINERY TO THE MAX, the dude might be genderfluid, i see people headcanoning 8 as genderfluid and i get it, as a genderfluid guy who loves to project on peopel who it loves, would usually make my fave genderfluid but he is also just so!!! genderfuck idk, defenetly expreses his gender in the most fluid way possible tough!! when someone asks him what his pronouns today are he is just like "hmmm i am quite happy today i think :)" and sometimes "i can't think today!!" or "hehehe hohoho i am sad, what is gender", defenetly uses they/them pronouns most of the time!!, he/they sometimes, the experiments go on!! (also i wrote down these headcanons before i saw some qoutes from the EDAs and JESUS OMG YES ITS SO NICE TO KNOW SOME FORM OF CANON RECOGNIZES THE GENDER ENERGY OF THIS VICTORIAN DANDY)

- some sort of physically disabled!! i personally headcanon all of the doctors to be physically disabled of some kind, but espeshelly 8! to have what is arguably concidered the most enthusiastic and energetic Doctor to be the one that needs a mobility aid makes my disabled heart so happy. its too early to tell when he discoves this, but to me he was BORN with aching legs and slight chronic pain, he just didn't notice it because ya know... the littiral medical wire that was stuck inside his chest... and of course other more urgent matter of potincial body stealing, he just thought it was pretty normal!! then through the Charley arc its slwly gets worse, at the end of the day he does concider a crutch or a cane because why not!

ok yes this is a basic list (and i can goall out about most othese ecae i love them so much)

(ALSO i do wanna add stuff from the EDAs is just the dylesixa will be a problem with reading those but im working on it 😤😤)

13. Do they have anyone they can lean on?

Nevaeh's family is actually quite supportive. I've begun developing a culture and language for the Terrans and it's helped me get a better grip on their (and especially Vae's) intrinsic values. While there is competition between the siblings to become the next Tribe Leader, there's also a deep love and devotion between them.

Terra's culture and religion is based on their home planet. Now I talked about them colonising other planets before, but I only touched on it. Basically, Terra is in a certain point in the galaxy where the Force is stronger than other places (in my AU the Force is viewed as energy (by the Terrans at least) and moves on certain lines through the galaxy. Terra lies on a sort of intersection. This is based on ley lines) resulting in higher midiclorian count in their inhabitants. Because Terra's population outgrew their planet, they colonised other planets (this takes place thousands of years before our story starts, by which point they have stopped colonising and faced the issue) but made sure they were also on these lines. Still the Force (or as they call it va'eyaey -> va meaning life, eyaey meaning energy) is strongest on their original planet, lead by the Tikaani, Nevaeh's Tribe. The Terrans believe that everything that grows out of, or comes from their home planet is holy, because they essentially worship the Force as an entity (seeing as they view it as energy, and everything is made out of energy). 'Grows out of their home planet' therefore also applies to people. So basically, Nevaeh views her siblings & family as a holy blessing and they view her that same way. That's why their connection is so deep. (I realise I'm playing it fast and lose with canon lore, but the Jedi can still adhere to the laws of the Force that we know. They have the same, yet different faith, I guess? different denominations? idk, I hope you get it saturn, if it's not clear pls ask follow ups lol)

last little tidbit about culture and language! I developed a sort of oath for the Terran warriors which might appear in the story, I'm not sure yet. I'm gonna share it here now, bc I'm pretty proud of this one!

Na'kato erih gatar vwe ih aueiili va'eyaey. Terra'na primet, nak'Terra'na setet.

meaning:

My oath is to serve and to protect the energy given through the Force. Terran first, other second.

15. Can you name 5 personality traits they have?

uuuh good question!

1. determined for sure. stubborn is probably the better word, but Nevaeh might get a lil testy when she's called that lol

2. loyal, see explanation above!

3. cunning. Neaveh is sort of the Heroin of this story, but she sometimes does behave a little,,, well she moves in a gray area sort of. The Terrans don't align themselves with either Dark or Light side, so true warriors (like Nevaeh) can be dangerous and hard to predict

4. generous. Even though the Terrans are secretive and don't like outsiders, their focus within their own people is still very much community based. But if you see the oath above, it says that they will serve Terrans first, others second. Nevaeh has always taken that very literally. Serve others, but don't do it at the cost of your own people. As long as it won't harm a single Terran, there's few this girl won't do for you!

5. empathetic. This is based partly on her connection to the Force, but also because, even though she's only in her early twenties, as a warrior, Nevaeh has seen a lot. Leading up to where we meet her in the book, she's experienced a lot since she last saw Obi-Wan. I won't spoil too much, since the story will go into this, but her struggle has made her more human in a way. She is more sympathetic and empathetic because of her trauma. (this might not come through in the first few chapters of the book, but that's because she's pretty tense right now. Once you get to know her better I think this makes sense lol)

6. secret sixth one bc I love saturn :) hot-headed. which I think is obvious if you've read the Prologue and first chapter of When We Bleed, We Bleed The Same lol

20. What do they look like?

So, I posted about this in the past here, but I made some updates on her design. She looks something like this:

She wears her hair down (it's actually much longer than pictured, but I'm not an artist so I use picrews, lol. I love this one a lot, but they didn't have longer hair. It still captures her essence pretty well though!), but if she is on a prolonged mission or yanno,,, maybe involved in a war, maybe? she puts it in dreads, for convenience and protection. She also has a traditional tattoo of remembrance on her entire left sleeve and (when not on mission) wears a ring lip piercing on her lower lip.

30. What music do they enjoy?

I haven't really come up with how Terran music sounds, but I like the idea of their primary way of story telling - but also worship to va'eyaey - to be singing. So that, I assume lol. Just imagining Nevaeh and some other Terrans sitting around a fire with some clones during a campaign and the Terrans are singing about a fight that they won, or that one amazing homecooked meal their mom would make when they were all kids, or how Ethan broke his arm climbing up a tree that one time, or that time they went to a bar and Rose and Vae danced together all night. And the clones just sort of listen to these people sharing about their rich lives in the way they would in their culture, even though they don't really do that with outsiders, so they're just quietly listening and falling in love with the stories and Rex is just looking at Vae like she's everything and WAAAA :')

48. Do they have anything they are trying to hide from others?

Oh yeah, like a fuck ton. Girly is a spy, she has thousands of tricks up her sleeve and knows all the state secrets (even those she's not supposed to know. but hey she couldn't sleep one night, so why not break into hq and get the dirt on all the superiors? (this is not canon, but she would, let's be real))

60. In a crowded room are they in the corners, sides or in the middle?

Depends. Is it a family function? Is it a political function? Is she on a mission? Is she undercover? Is her cover someone who's supposed to be noticed or not?

I think in her natural state without a mission or ulterior motive she'd probably be in the middle. She's a pretty bold social-butterfly lol

Deku: uh that's actually incorrect, the joker doesn't have a backstory and by assigning him one you're taking all the essence away from his character. Justifying the acts of a canonically psychopathic serial killer with a fixation on a bunch of people by giving him a conventionally moral and excusable story to make him relatable is against the idea of why he's still who he is and that's what's wrong with our society. I think we are willing to excuse villains if they have a heartbreaking backstory but the point with Joker is that he doesn't have one so nice try making him be someone who could ever be salvaged. Now if you open the killing joke by Alan Moore and Frank Miller you will see that Batman is also of same nature, although in his face we find someone we can and should feel sympathy for-

What is it that you personally find intriguing about Jake?

I find his relationship to agency and lack of agency interesting, but you could say that about all the alpha kids in honesty.

yeah that's true!! they all have different relationships to that agency, though. man they're a fascinating bunch.

and god i really don't know if i can do my thoughts & feelings justice rn.... jake's a MESS of a character. hussie really wrote themselves into a corner with him. i don't know if i really Get Him, even now, but i do like him, so. i'll give it a shot!

heh... shot. like a gun. he likes guns.

ok so yeah jake. he's supposed to have all sorts of potential power and all these big hopes and dreams to live up to... but we don't see these things fully realized, at least not in a particularly impactful way. my point is, jake is put through a whole lot of shit and isn't given enough time or meaningful agency to fully work through or even being to process a lot of it. his canon arc has him reach his nadir on the quests beds, realising the self image he aspires to live up to isn't really right for him, and that deep down he's a deeply cowardly person. and after that... some stuff happens, and he plays a part in it, but i don't think anything really happens on his terms any more. (edit: any more? no, they never have. jake's forced to go along with events that are nearly always completely out of his control and often even his comprehension. all he can do is try to make sense of the mess with whatever narrative is convenient.)

so jake ends the comic by internalising some pretty terrible conclusions about himself and his capacity for relationships, and resolves to do his best in the final battle in a way that still reads to me like burying the problem / the same old dorky rough and tumble adventurer routine.

(this answer is already way too long, but i am going to keep going.) tbh guess your agency comment is the crux of the issue. but i also think that not being the person you want to, and struggling with that, is an interesting direction for the character to take.

there's also him being forced into the 'love interest' role which becomes outright objectification. which i don't. have the energy to get into a whole lot. i guess it's interesting that a male character is getting that treatment, but its played as a joke. it's. not funny when male characters are sexually harassed or abused. it's just not.

anyway. for me embracing jake's flaws and failure to fully realise his potential makes actually him more interesting... kind of??? i'd definitely like to see those struggles fucking GO somewhere, but i really don't want his weaknesses to be erased. i just think a narrative about realising you are 'weak' in some ways you wish you weren't is interesting, tho it'd be nice if he is able to manifest that potential on his own terms and reclaim some agency eventually ofc.

that said, i actually like how jake is written in the epilogues, really hammering home that theme of disempowerment and his trauma and terrible coping mechanisms. i mean, it's awful, grimdark, punishing woobification, and i feel not even a little bit charitable about the sexual objectification stuff, but i still like it taking all jake's unresolved issues a little bit seriously and turning them up to eleven. i'd be impressed if HS^2 him actually grow and come into some actual meaningful power, like this treatment was all an extension of his long road to power as a page, but. yeah i'm not counting on it!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

also... idk, something about the way the external narrative frames and disempowers him, like on a meta level, is interesting. might be verging on wish fulfilment fanon territory here, but i really do think a fully realised page of hope could turn the story on its head if they wanted to. fingers crossed for my abraxian boygirl actually coming in clutch one day.

AND he provides absolutely vital bisexual/aromantic neurodivergent/brain damage traumacore genderfucky gentleman hotgirl enby rep, that's important too. /j

ok cas fic ramblings under the cut. like spoilers for the whole fic but if i never finish/post it then does it really count as spoilers. really. thoughts welcome <3

ok hiiiiii. mwah. so its post canon in the ambiguously human cas domestic bliss stage where they all live above ground EXCEPT. i have personal strife with human cas sorry bc i very much interpret it as basically binding a graceless angel to their vessel (hashtag i read dta and went sure ill incorporate that into my belief system) so cas is like. kind of miserable. like hes not because hes finding joy in the little humanities! and he's got dean! and dean cooks meals that he thinks cas would like and he makes sure all the blankets are soft and all these lovely little things that show he cares and cas my best friend cas just like. covets it. like he hates being 'human' but ALSO dean is like showering him in love so he's like Well. this is manageable. and also dean keeps asking how hes doing and cas is very greedy for proof dean cares about his wellbeing. my poor guy. and like they are in a happily established relationship at this point its all well and good its just that twelve years does stuff to a guy's head.

anyway the catch is that for vague plot empty rescue reasons cas very much does have his grace. like its in a vial he can take it back at any time but he doesnt for approximately three different reasons. one) if he takes his grace back dean wont do any of the little things to make humanity easier and cas doesnt want to lose that and/or go back to how they acted before the empty. two) dean very explicitly loves him which means cas can no longer beat himself on the head like "dean doesnt love me because i am terrible" so he had to find another way to hate himself which in this instance is "i could take my grace back and protect my family but i wont because i wont sacrifice the love of one measly human my hubris is my eternal downfall i am a failure of a father and partner" and THREE) my guy is not keen on relinquishing his outsider identity. bc sure hes "human" but hes not actually human and he fits so poorly but he gets a kind of. idk a kind of perverse pleasure from it. hes a little self pitying in this fic i have to say. but also at the same time hes like i deserve the good things though. i am so miserable look at how good of a miserable excuse of an angel i am. like it literally loops back around to pride for him. my favourite weirdo

while all this is going on cas is doing various post canon things and he gets a tattoo and dean is very nice to him and its sort of your classic "cas tries to find his footing in humanity" activities except you know hes just trying to avoid taking his grace back even though he also wants very badly to take his grace back. he is literally so illogical the entire time and i love him sooo much but it culminates in cas being like okay someone PLEASE take this decision out of my hands so he tries to give his grace to dean

why does cas give his grace to dean well ill tell you. he doesnt want to give up their human life. he hates himself for not giving up their human life to better protect them/jack. so hes like. well if i give the grace to dean it takes it out of my hands and i can hate DEAN for it INSTEAD. i can blame DEAN. literally what nick seasontwelvedean said about cas resenting dean a little for not loving him but now that he knows dean DOES love him hes like this is weird :/ what if i resent him for something else. and dean of course is like what the fuck and throws a tantrum. and its like well dean you did very much kind of bring this upon yourself i like i know youre doing a bit better now but like babe where do you think cas learned all these thought patterns<3

anyway you can tell that we're now reaching the bit i havent written because after they somehow work this out cas takes his grace back and he gets his little "the future" vision realised and he has his wings and dean on his knees being like thank you cas youre the best youre so cool with your angel powers and saving my life forever and ever amen <3 and of course nothing really changes and afterwards he has a little birthday party and probably goes off to find something else to be insane about. and thats The Cas Fic

part of the reason i was like oh it would be fun to have him say this isn't just that it would mean so much to lily although that was a consideration. it was (as some commenters have pointed out) a very easy, almost thoughtless thing for him to say!

it's not even like this is a deeply considered compliment he gives her, after having picked up on an insecurity, which is the way/reason he says "you're sweet, lily" — he knows this running thread that preoccupies her all the way from "i'm glad i'm not the only bad influence on your life." he knows that his moral worldview is very binary (a classic james potter trait) but hers can't be and that shows in all their arguments about the slytherins (even in canon when she defends sn*pe to him). but here he also realises she wants goodness to be easy and inherent in respect to herself. which is why he tells her — and he believes it, ofc — she's sweet!

but this, you're magic, is totally the opposite of that. for one he's not really. Thinking much in the situation LOL so it literally slips out, but also magic to him is so different from magic to her. to her magic is unattainable as much as it's within her grasp, it's special but it's so difficult, it's something she has to try at, it's something she has to hold onto for dear life for fear that itll be taken from her. being told you're magic is like being told you are deserving of that specialness.

but for james — magic is a fact of his life. he's never not had it. he's never not known it. that doesn't make magic mundane, though — it just means every clever trick, every illusion, everything that takes effort to accomplish requires magic and the patience to understand it or to figure it out. magic just is, and it's so much more straightforward to him, and when he says lily is magic he means she's just... her presence in his life is right. like, duh, of course. it's less about being special (to him this literally doesn't matter, not just because well of course she's special but because he's grown up having been told he's special, the spoiled brat, and the idea doesn't hold much shine to him) and more about being something he can look at and feel arrested by, and want to puzzle out, as opposed to the muggle view of magic as better when it's unexplained. you love something more after you know it

(sidenote, i feel like the popular james is into transfiguration hc originally came about because of mcgonagall and the animagi, but now i love it for its thematic reasons: that this entire discipline is about change and conservation, how much can you change something with magic, can you change it entirely, can you alter its nature? it is just so lovely to me that this character who grows so much as a teenager might be drawn to the magic of transformation. and yet at the same time there's a certain level of pseudoscience to it in a different way from potions — transfig is almost like physics in that it's easier to change something into something similar, there are laws governing how it works, etc. — and you can kind of feel out the logic to this, and see him as a problem-solver, someone who takes things apart to figure out how to put them back together)

anyway, this is a dynamic i like playing with a lot with these two in all universes — opinion and fact and what compliments mean to each of them coming from the other. like, to lily what is so charming about james giving her a compliment is that it's almost impatiently delivered, like keep up, of course you're brilliant, everyone knows. it's almost like he's complimenting her on behalf of everything. and since she's so often (in canon and in my AUs anyway) coming into a world that he's familiar with, it's like a welcome from that world at large. james on the other hand, as you might expect from someone with outsize self-confidence, doesn't really give a shit about what everyone else thinks — what does she, specifically, think?

hiii <3 thats a good question...i never actually sat down to think which my top 5 is :o

n1 is def eremika (eren yeager + mikasa ackerman from aot). one of them fell for the other first, but the other fell harder, one of them is like “let me carry the burden of ur sins with u” and the other is like “i am a monster but she has nothing to do with it, i will not let her take the blame for my sins”😭😭 their love is so tragic, but also so beautiful. they are the definition of right person wrong time and they make me cry like a baby.💔

n2 is yuchi (yuki sohma + machi kuragi from fruits basket). idk what exactly it is about them that makes me go crazy, but its probably the fact that i relate to those 2 characters the most out of every single character ive seen in media. they are so broken and self deprecating, not knowing what they want and if they are enough to love and to be loved...and then they find each other and lift each other up, make each other better, teach each other that u can be found and loved even if u’re damaged, but u also need to move forward, make an effort to realise that life isnt all bad and there are people who care for u.💗

n3 is iwaoi (iwaizumi hajime + oikawa tooru from haikyuu!!). best/childhood friends to lovers my beloved...they are soulmates, their banter is like my favorite thing ever, plus u can so effortlessly tell they will always be there for each other even if oceans are between them. they are life partners whether someone sees their relationship as romantic or just platonic.

n4 rn is probably asheiji (ash lynx + eiji okumura from banana fish). basically for the same reasons i love eremika... those little moments of happiness they shared together made everything more painful for me </3 i think about the parallels between the 2 relationships and cry myself to sleep 😭

n5 gotta be renga (reki kyan + langa hasegawa from sk8). strangers to friends to best friends to lovers...even in the actual show u could sense the mutual pining altho they werent explicitly canon. there was angst, but in the end all they need is each other to be happy. reki is a ball of sunshine extrovert who brought light to a broken soul’s life, even tho behind everything he is very insecure himself. langa is a spaced out introvert who was deeply wounded and had lost sight of the meaning of his life and yet learned to have fun again thanks to reki and is now ready to shower him with compliments at any given moment, so that he never feels not enough again.🥰

OKAYYYY I have a lot of thoughts about the trailer and I need to try and formulate them into words djbdjsbfndhdndbdnd

Idk about you guys I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually love older Stan and Kyle LMAO 😭 I completely unironically love how they're like middle aged and balding (canon dilfs god bless 😔🙏!!!!!!!!) and average looking rather than being supermodels or whatever. Its nice, I always think we need more main and hero characters in media who just look like normal people. Kyle's beard is so good and I love Stan having a dad bod, his hair is terrible but it’s just in character for him to have bad hair honestly skbfksbxjdssjs.... its cute how much they look like Matt and Trey too.

I know I just said this but I LOVE Stan being a little chubby around the middle one of my favourite hcs is that he’d get a slight beer belly when he’s older and I’m so happy to see it in canon sjdfgfjsfd

It’s impossible that the age jump will be permanent, so I’m curious about whether its like... a dream/vision, alternate reality or something?? My theory at the moment is that this is a potential future (probably a worst case scenario where the pandemic never ends or something) and the kids - now older - will end up time travelling in order to fix the past.

Them being in a quantum physics lab in this screencap is whats really making me lean towards time travel as a possibility right now...

I suspect this might also be tied into reconciling their friendship? It seems like in this future they drifted apart, but when Kyle is on the phone in the trailer he said “remember when we were little, us friends said we’d always be there for each other when things got bad” which made Stan react immediately.... And also yes this line is already making me like [crying cat meme] sdjhbsdfhsd 😭... but I think its possible that they either will get back together and then realise they should never have separated, or travel back to intentionally stop the group from separating.

I also suspect Randy will have something to do with saving the day, which as much as I am tired of him, would be nice because he caused a lot of the problems in the first place and it could be a good redemption for him to help resolve it.

Anyway to get back on the adult designs I am of course going insane with the need to see Kenny/Cartman/Butters jdbhgsdvfddsf

I’m terrified for all three bc on the one hand it could be really bad.... but on the other if they’re as good as Kyle and Stan I will be in heaven. I don’t know if they’ll use Cartman’s design from my future self and me or make a new one for this?? As long as he’s not skinny 😭

Cartman being hidden from us at the moment is also making me curious since he invented time travel in my future self and me.... it makes me wonder... I don’t think he will be inventing time travel in this future since it’s likely they’ll do a call back to such an old episode, but it is a fun idea to consider sdjhgbdg

Let’s talk about if Saihara hated Ouma

So lately I’ve actually seen a bit more comments on how Saihara doesn’t actually like Ouma and people have gone as far as saying he hates him and idk why people genuinely believe it so here I am about to refute that (I’ve been waiting ages to make this post just so you know so this came out as a horribly unstructured ramble more than anything oops)

some notes beforehand:

I have an obvious bias as I do ship saiouma. although i’ll try to be neutral on what I say here, I can’t hide my bias. I have tried to include what people that hate this ship believe to counter them though, also if you ship other things that’s totally fine?? don’t think of any of this as an attack at your ship and I’m not saying Saihara loved Ouma, I’m just tired of people saying Saihara hated him.

You’re allowed to respectfully disagree as long as you don’t berate me or say I don’t know the game when the majority of the screenshots in this are from my own gameplay, lmao.

and massive whole-game spoilers! Don’t read this if you’ve not finished DRV3!

Glad to know you made it under the cut! now I can begin with where I think people got this idea that Saihara hates him from- the infamous “You’re alone Kokichi and you always will be” line.

I admit this was very cold and still breaks my fragile saiou heart, but to base Saihara’s entire perspective of Ouma on this one line he said while he wasn’t thinking straight is just.. no.. It’s unrealistic. we’ve seen how Saihara is able to adapt his views and grow (I’ll come back to this later), he’s not stubborn in this regard like Momota or even Ouma is, so even if he did mean it 100% (which I doubt because when *anybody* is angry they will say or do things they may regret had they been calmer), it’s not like his view on Ouma from chapter 4 was his final view on him. And that’s what people fail to realise.

So, how does Saihara view Ouma then?

well, I’d say he’s been interested in Ouma as a detective from the moment he met him with his curiosity piqued at Ouma’s claims of leading a secret organisation.

and he remains curious about Ouma throughout, always questioning why Ouma says certain things, what Ouma is lying for, he just wants to figure him out- and this doesn’t just apply to free time events either

I think you get my point there, now, I think if I didn’t ship saiou and read this, I’d argue these are all pre-chapter 5 and before the breaking line so he may have been curious before but not after- that then brings me to my next point

Saihara was confident- dare I say believed- in Ouma, especially after Chapter 5.

how bold of me to say ikr, but this ties in to Saihara’s ability to adapt his views. He’s sort of like a mixture of both Kaito and Ouma honestly, because naturally as a detective he has to be suspicious and think logically as Ouma does, while at the same time Kaito taught him to believe in his friends which has also helped him to advance in trials. I think he might have extended this belief to Ouma, because he trusts that Ouma is doing what he does for a reason.

In fact, I’d argue he’s the only one of the remaining group who wouldn’t readily accept pinning Ouma down as a villain. If anything, it’s the opposite- Saihara fought to clear Ouma’s name, and never stopped trying to understand whether or not his intentions were true or false

i’ll just drop this screenshot here (that i named THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY.png in case you were wondering)

this is what I mean when I say he wouldn’t accept it as fast as the others and would second-guess it, bear in mind this is the moment Ouma “admitted” to being the mastermind. and it’s not like this doubt was sudden or anything, cause I can recall this moment (that I actually didn’t catch on to on my first playthrough)

which gives me the idea that hadn’t Ouma purposefully messed with everyone and built up his bad reputation, it would’ve been so much easier for Saihara to disprove him being the mastermind at the point he said it.

Anyway, going back to my point- excluding Kaito (cause Ouma directly told him), Saihara is the first to bring up Ouma’s innocence, and this is what I mean when I say Saihara believed in Ouma

note that I say believed in. believing Ouma and believing in Ouma are different, it’s like how loving someone and being in love with someone are two different things, so don’t argue that by saying “he didn’t trust him” because ik that and that’s not what I’m trying to say.

but he did believe that Ouma had his reasons, and he tried to discover and understand them. I mean, take this for example

he’s already on board lool look at him go, but no really look at the confidence

he’s both confident in himself and in Ouma not lying here, then goes back to being curious about his intentions

oh and let’s not forget who it was that searched Ouma’s lab to find clues to prove he is a remnant of despair. Why do you need to search for evidence for something you (and the others even more) think is irrefutably true? the answer is obvious- he was doubtful of it from the start, and needed evidence to convince himself it was true, but then as he found nothing to prove it (and even evidence against it), he had to convince the others of it too- and prove Ouma’s innocence

But as you can see, he’s clearing Ouma’s name as the leader of the Remnants of Despair.

Now, I bet someone would argue that this only proves Saihara was determined to find the truth in general, because he’s mister detective, so I’ll raise you the fact that Saihara didn’t need to try figuring why Ouma does the things he does- he could leave it at just knowing the truth and if he really didn’t like Ouma like people say then there’s not much merit to it.

“So what if I know this now? I didn’t care about him, it’s pointless” he could’ve thought something like that, but no

(I also think the “you’re lying again kokichi, there’s a method to your madness” moment fits here too)

Not only this, but there’s also how Saihara learnt from him.

honestly im still kinda mindblown from this ever since I first realised it, but when you think about it, Ouma hinted to Saihara in his FTEs how to win the game.

(those 3 screenshots are from justonegamr’s kokichi’s FTE video; random fun fact this was the playthrough that i watched while first getting into drv3)

But if you think about it, Ouma tried this again in his own trial in his attempt at ending the killing game and then Saihara also used this to actually end it

Not only that (which personally i think is pretty powerful in itself), but Saihara also tries to take Ouma seriously and picks up hints he leaves and uses them later

as well as

(and generally just)

generally, Ouma will hint and then Saihara will pick it up. it’s been like that for the whole game- why should Saihara give any extra thought to what Ouma hints if he dislikes him?? really, he could’ve just ignored him the same way he did at the end of chapter 4- but again, he didn’t “”hate”” Ouma enough to keep ignoring him, he considered him a friend in the end anyway.

and the end is what I’ll talk about now, too.

first- can we just acknowledge this?

he doesn’t ignore Ouma at all here. even though he didn’t trust him, he was sad to have lost him.

Not to mention the way he thinks about lying at the end of Chapter 6. (like, please this is just- *chefs kiss*)

IMAGINE Ouma was alive to hear him say that omg but Saihara could (and probably would) extend what he says here to Ouma himself- y’know, the ‘embodiment of lies’

by thinking about lies in a different angle instead of at face value like this, he gets a more neutral view on them rather than just thinking “they’re bad!!”, why wouldn’t he be able to do the same for Ouma? especially now that he knows Ouma was innocent and actually hated the game as much as they all did. I mean hey, even after chapter 5′s trial he sort of already thinks about lies differently

and throughout this post, I’ve tried to avoid talking about his free time events or his salmon mode ending because people always say “well they’re not canon” and to that I say not canon to the plot, yes, but still canon to the characters. so yeah, I don’t disregard any of them.

from this point onwards these all technically happen before chapter 5, so it’s not entirely relevant to my point that saihara still liked ouma even after the end of chapter 4, but it’s still something that shows he liked him beforehand at least. I mainly just wanna ramble though haha

one thing I’ve always thought was interesting was how Saihara easily lashed out at Kaito in his own free time event

and Kaito is undeniably Saihara’s best friend who he holds in high regard. If Saihara having backbone means he doesn’t like someone then damn bye bye momota have a nice trip in space

in terms of ouma and saihara though

how about the fact that Saihara willingly sat there and played rock paper scissors (janken pon!) with Ouma 100 times?? bruh I got bored playing that with my brother after 8 rounds yesterday how would Saihara manage 100?? would you really have the patience for that when you don’t even like the person you’re playing with?

what I love about this is how “reaching out” could be taken both literally and figuratively. Wanting to understand someone and trying to find a way to but them being too unwilling to trust anyone.. damn 😔👊 also shuuichi either wanted to handshake or hold hands, what else do you do when you reach for someone’s hand come on

oh yes and how about that he’s content with the refusal because it allowed him to figure out a small thing about Ouma? understanding that Ouma has a different way of being reached out to? mhm please think about that for a bit

he considered how it’ll be like with him after they get out and how he’ll learn about him, then ultimately decided when ouma reached out to him that he does want this, and even comments on the warmth of his hand... afhskfdlj

his blush when ouma mentions how his lies didn’t bore saihara was also a very cute moment

ooh and what about the love hotel???

there’s that one line “I know i’m meant to be Kokichi’s ideal in this fantasy but when he tells me he loves me I feel like he means the opposite” or something like that- i’d argue it’s because he’s cautious of Ouma for one but also am I getting something wrong here or is he talking about how he, Shuuichi, thinks Ouma doesn’t like him? because I see people argue this is proof saihara doesn’t like ouma but all he’s really doing is just doubting ouma loves him

well in any case

WHY would he want him to stay in a love hotel of all places if he disliked him?! I know I’m just a broken record at this point but I can’t think of anything logical for it. they didnt even need to include that line in the scene at all but they did like they could’ve easily said something to do with realising where he was instead but nah. even after the event’s over, he says to himself

doesn’t he sound disappointed by it? and the fact that he even questions if it was a dream- okay

ooh, something i’ve realised while writing this as well: it kind of seems like Saihara might not want to like him but does anyway; he quickly ‘smothered the thought’ of staying with Kokichi, didn’t want to admit that Ouma’s lies never bored him, and I also thought about how in one of Kaito’s free time events he says to himself “I shouldn’t be talking about another boy like that”- well, maybe it’s similar for how he thinks of ouma? it’s not like Saihara didn’t care for the others’ opinion on him (probably the opposite ngl if you mess up in class trials he says something along the lines of��Ah I screwed up! They probably think I’m a fraud”) and considering nobody else liked ouma (except for maybe gonta) I wouldn’t be surprised if he felt shame for liking him, thus repressing that feeling (especially around the others, there’s that part in trial 4 where he’s trying to convince kaito he isn’t siding with ouma cause he knows by doing that could damage his friendship with his bro)

I mean this is something I only thought of just now, but it could be plausible (i hope?)

One last thing- I find it incredibly funny how in chapter 2 when ouma is literally on top of saihara he doesn’t freak out or scream and everyone else in the room is also completely chill with it and unquestioning. no really they’re just standing there.. and how long was ouma even in that position for??

Now, I think that’s all. So to finish off, I’ll just say

People get the idea that saiouma is bad because some don’t realise Saihara can still like a person without idolising or putting them on a pedestal. Idk if this is gonna sound controversial or not, but I honestly do think he did exactly that to Kaito and Kaede- which doesn’t make what they have with him toxic or bad at all, I just think his view on Ouma is a lot more realistic and less clouded. Heck, if Saihara canonically liked Ouma as much as he does with the other two I don’t know if I’d ship saiouma as hard as I do (it is fun to imagine though).

If you actually read through this then.. wow? I’m surprised you got through this unstructured mess? I hope you can agree with me for some of my points at least but I’m not here to convince you or anything, this has just been on my mind for weeks now I needed to get it out somehow.

I said it at the start and i’ll say it again now too- i didn’t intend on attacking or comparing saiou to any other ships so I do apologise if I seem like it, i’m just terrible with my wording (lmk if something genuinely offended you, i’ll probably change it) but you’re free to ship whatever you like cause at the end of the day it’s just a bit of fun. that being said, I don’t want to actually argue on this so please don’t haha, i’ve contemplated just deleting this but I’ve put a lot of effort into this post even though i cant analyse for 💩
