i'm answering all of them >:)

Not a lot, just three on one arm and two on the other, I think. The three are in a triangle shape though! (edit: i looked in the mirror; i have one on my collarbone that i forgot about.)

I like both, but I drink coffee way more often. I drink coffee with a slightly unreasonable amount of creamer. I like the green tea that's infused with peach flavor, and I drink it plain.

It was either Remember Them by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, or Glory and Gore by Lorde.

Either stomach or side, I don't remember.

I technically have several stuffed animals somewhere on my bed, but the main one that I sleep with is a very long stuffed cat, like a squishmallow, but long. She is excellent, I use her as a pillow a lot.

6. Writing!! I've been getting into drawing lately, too, but writing is my favorite thing on earth.

7. Just one large blanket, so it doesn't get tangled.

12. My queerplatonic bf. My little sister. This creature I dreamed about the other night that was a combo of a panther, dog, and bear and also loved me. My beloved mutual @ashclouds366 (hi <3). And you, I am metaphorically hugging you right at this very moment. >:)

13. When I was in first grade, I read the magic tree house book, High Tide In Hawaii; it was about a tsunami. Despite living in a landlocked state at the time, it freaked me out. To this day, the majority of my nightmares are about tsunamis, and I don't know why.

15. Maybe fall? Either fall or winter; I like the cooler weather, and I feel like spring and summer don't have as many holidays as the colder months do. Also summer is the season of existential crises, and spring is the season of being bored and wishing it was either winter or summer.

16. I love tattoos in theory; in practice, I don't think I have a very good pain tolerance. But if that wasn't an issue, I think I'd get some kind of green plant that symbolized something cool. Or something with some kind of sun imagery, that would be neat.

17. Previous issue of pain tolerance, but if i could get an eyebrow piercing, I think that would solve literally all my problems. I love eyebrow piercings. They're awesome.

18. At the time of reading this, it was my family's group chat, but then I texted my sister a keysmash in all caps in response to some screenshot she sent me.

19. Well. I have anxiety around calling people my best friends, because what if it's a one-sided sentiment, or whatever. But if it weren't for that anxiety, I would say that a long distance friend of mine (who I am not naming in case she sees this) is probably my best friend. We've been friends since eighth grade. She's awesome. <3

20. The aforementioned friend, eating grilled cheese, not having a cold, and watching Parallels. (Technically, nothing's stopping me from watching Parallels right now, but I still haven't watched it in a while, so I miss it.)

21. Not too bad; I had a cold, I had some fun conversations, I fell asleep at one point and briefly forgot what day it was, and I had some pretty good pasta. Kind of all balanced out.

22. Not a lot; had to stay up past 1 AM writing a current events paper that I left to the last second.

23. When it comes to complex aliens, I feel like it could go either way, honestly. But I think that things like alien bacteria species or simple organisms like that definitely exist. I don't know a lot about aliens, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

24. I think it was last week? I was stressed about an essay, and I cry pretty easily.

25. I'm gonna pick the boring answer and say 2010's; I think there are good and bad things about all of history's decades, but since that one just finished up, it's all still fresh in the world's mind. Good things from the 2010's just off the top of my head: My dog was born, my little sister was born, Jorge Rivera-Herrans started working on Epic the musical, I met an incredible friend of mine, Into the Spiderverse came out, and I'm sure there's other good things I'm forgetting.

26. Oh, there's probably a lot. I've ended up absorbing a lot of what my younger siblings like. Can I admit that I saw the second paw patrol movie in theaters? My little brother is obsessed with paw patrol, so i've seen both the movies about a thousand times. and they're pretty good. as for kids' shows that i like, The Inbestigators is a fun show, and odd squad will never not be a cinematic masterpiece.

27. Ooh, probably a tie between When Did You See Her Last? (All The Wrong Questions, book 2) and Shouldn't You Be In School? (All The Wrong Questions, book 3). Haven't reread ATWQ in a while, but I love it, especially the two middle books in the series.

28. Emotionally? Doing great, I did a lot of fun stuff yesterday and I now feel socially fulfilled. Mentally? Kind of stressed, I have a huge paper due tonight that I still need to make an edit to. Physically? I'm on the tail end of a cold, so not as well as I could be.

29. Oh, absolutely. I was told just yesterday that I am the most indecisive person in existence, and I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. It's part of the reason it takes me so long to text people back.

30. I'm going to a concert for the first time this Thursday! Definitely looking forward to that.

31. Not sure how distant it would be, but I would love to take a creative writing class at some undetermined point in the future!

32. I would go to Texas, because I know people who live there that I would very much want to visit.

33. Closed, so that my dog doesn't sneak out to go wake up someone else in the middle of the night. Also, it keeps the cold air from escaping into the hallway, which is warmer.

35. short answer: yes. long answer: this is such a loaded question because i literally have an entire blog on another account dedicated to rambling about my love and appreciation and platonic pining/yearning for specific people. and i am resisting the urge to link to it because i know for a fact that one of the people i have rambled about on there follows me on this blog, and I will have you know that emotional vulnerability is Harder Than It Looks. but yeah, i get squishes a lot. people are so cool and nice and i love them all. <3

36. Kind of? It's pretty good for a middle name, I guess. I'm kind of neutral on it, since I don't hear it a lot. It's one syllable and it flows kind of nicely.

37. Extremely difficult question; I love them both. I only have a dog, though, so I might have to choose dogs out of loyalty to him. But in all honesty, I think I might love dogs and cats the exact same amount. They're both wonderful little creatures in completely different ways, y'know?

38. Nope.

39. Yes. I procrastinate on assignments a lot, and I'll have to do them the night before they're due, or I'll go on tumblr late at night. This past week, I've gotten very little sleep, and I'm definitely feeling the effects now.

40. I like the beach, it makes me kind of anxious at night, though. I like it sunny if I'm swimming, and cloudy if I'm just wandering around looking for shells.

41. Probably Ducktales 2017. Favorite episode is probably A Nightmare On Killmotor Hill. I also liked the Dragon Prince, but I haven't seen it in years, and I think I only made it a few episodes into season 3? So idk what any of the later seasons were like, but I really liked the parts of the show that I did watch.

Very cool tournament idea.

43. Yep! I'm the eldest of four. Two sisters, one brother.

44. My dad, I think the sentence was: "Okay, goodnight, love you!"

45. Depends on the circumstances; I would probably freeze up or have an anxiety attack if I was actually given the definite choice. There are a ton of people I'd definitely risk my life for without putting a lot of thought into it, but if it was a clear-cut situation where I knew for a fact one of us would die, I feel like I wouldn't be able to decide in time.

46. Physical contact and human interaction, without a doubt.

47. Yes.

48. Hm...tough question. I think I have different people who I would trust with different parts of my life. Like, depending on what my life was depending on, the person I would trust with it would probably change.

50. Wildcard answer, uh. Well. I dreamed last night that I was in a timeloop. After I saved the person I was trying to save in the timeloop, I ran around yelling at everyone about how I solved the timeloop, no thanks to them. And then I stepped in mud while wearing socks, which was so annoying I almost woke up. But before I did, a limo rolled up and invited me to join some kind of organization due to the fact that I had time loop powers. Very interesting dream.

Blue Exorcist 10th anniversary book Q&A session

The 10th anniversary book has a section where Katoh answers 100 questions submitted by fans on Twitter, so here they are translated/paraphrased! May contain manga spoilers up to the recent flashback arc, so be warned.

(Note that I’m playing it very fast and loose here because there are A HUNDRED OF THEM, so not exact wordings, but it should capture the gist. Lemme know if there are any you want elaborated on)

1. Katoh likes the feel of traditional drawing more than digital but is impressed with how far digital has come

2. Meph THOROUGHLY ABUSES spacetime to watch all his shows and ensure that he gets all the merch he wants

3. Did the girls take all of Yukio’s school uniform buttons in middle school? Yes, they did (apparently it’s like A Thing for girls to ask for a button from their crush at middle school graduation, based on some sad movie from the 60s where a guy who got drafted as a kamikaze pilot gave a girl one of his uniform buttons to remember him by)

4. Rin's tail is about a meter long

5. There are tons of servants working at Mephisto's mansion. Belial is in charge of them

6. Katoh borrows from all sorts of neat real locations when making settings

7. Katoh identifies with pretty much all the characters the most! Except Lucifer.

8. Demon designs she's proud of include the impure king and hachirou, pretty much anything that was the main one in an arc

9. Katoh lists a bunch of her favorite musical artists/music she’s listening to recently: King Gnu, Official Hige Dandism, Kenshi Yonezu, BAD HOP, Sakanaction, Keyakizaka 46, Hypnosis Mic, Aimer, B’Z, Queen Bee.

10. Awww the rabbit manga that characters are often reading isn't just Robo to Usakichi, it's an even older one that she drew as a little kid

11. She likes industrial style interior designs

12. Rin and Yukio alternated who got the top bunk growing up, because they couldn't agree on it lol

13. Katoh cares a whole lot about panel layouts and speech bubble positions, might even be her favorite part of the process (it shows!)

4. Katoh does NOT have a mashou, lol

15. Rin has probably been practicing in secret so he can learn to carry stuff with his tail

16. Izumo probably got into shojo manga around 1st grade, her mom had some around the house

17. Specialty dishes: Rin - lots of stuff but especially nabe Yuri - stuff you can throw together quickly Shiro - stuff he learned from Yuri and/or cookbooks, alongside teaching Rin Yukio - Does. Not. Cook.

18. Can't pick a favorite place she's been on research, but there's no place like Japan

19. Kinzou's band isn't currently meeting because demons, but he's probably still thinking of new songs

20. Hardest characters to draw: anyone with detailed flowing hair. Hardest to write for: Lightning and Gedouin. She had to go read books about serial killers specifically for material for Gedouin, lol

21. Suguro actually gets a dorm room to himself, though allegedly Yukio is technically assigned as his roommate, lol. Didn't end up that way what with Yukio being a teacher and also Rin’s whole...situation

22. Shiemi makes some of her own hair accessories! Cute

23. Katoh doesn't mind if you include stuff with fan letters but check with the editor first

24. Time for making each chapter: Planning/storyboarding: 1-5 days. Sketching: 3-5 days. Drawing/inking: the rest. Just...the rest of the time

25. Neither Suguro nor Izumo have dated before and neither is currently dating. But that's probably just because things were hectic for them! It could happen

26. Yukio breaks 5 or 6 pairs of glasses a year, someone get this kid a strap or something

27. How many spare glasses does Yukio have? Check the fanbook lol it's in there (dang it Katoh)

28. The demon she wants us to pay the most attention to is Lucifer. Because plot.

29. What's under the Order's big meeting table? It's a BOTTOMLESS PIT and if you fall in it you DIE that's what makes it COOL (laughs)

30. What are the job requirements for the angelic legion? Literally just Arthur liking you and inviting you to join

31. She WANTS to do more character profiles but just hasn't gotten to it

32. Rin's tail feels like a cat tail, texture wise

33. The "red Assiah fire" is literally just actual fire nothing special

34. Rin's current hair color is light blue fading to white at the ends

35. Thoughts on Rin's growth: she likes that he stays positive in awful situations and she also thinks it's very main character of him to face the past instead of avoiding it

36. Mephisto didn't purposely surround Rin with stuffed animals when he woke up after going crispy. Mephisto's bed is just Like That

37. Kurikara was based on a cool sword she found in a sword book, but that one was technically just a ceremonial sword. The symbol on it us a Sanskrit letter kaan (sp?) associated with Fudou Myouou

38. Kuro can communicate with normal cats and hangs out with them often

39. Sometimes Shiemi's skirt is extra fancy around the hem what's up with that? Apparently it's an optional accessory that comes with the skirts help I haven't noticed this and don't know any fashion terms in any language

40. When coloring, Katoh always tries to have an overall theme in mind ("emphasis on blue" etc) so it comes together in the end

41. Yes the twins are genetically related to Shiro because of Goro (she says they're like his nephews but I say GENETICALLY at least they'd be indistinguishable from his children)

42. Strongest mom of all the strong moms around here? Yuri! Did you SEE her give birth??

43. Are you careful about your own health Katoh-sensei? Not particularly! Her mom has had to bring her food at work sometimes! Don't do this at home kids

44. At the dating events Shura goes to, does she drink cocktails in moderation? Yeah, she probably downplays her normal drinking habits at these things. But normally she's down for just about any kind of drink

45. Lucifer just really likes oysters okay

46. How many pages of manga does Katoh draw in a day? If she's being good about self-care: three. Maximum number ever: TEN

47. Mephisto is one of those folks who can eat like a garbage compactor and never gain weight. Possibly because his body resists that sort of change the same way it resists aging etc

48. First food Rin cooked: fish burger type patty. Yukio's favorite things Rin cooks: fish simmered in soy sauce, yellowtail with daikon radish. It's fish all the way down

49: Did Rin ever get more monthly allowance from Mephisto? It doubled! He gets TWO 2000 yen bills now (rip) [T/N: That's uh, that's USD $37.26 a month or 33.10 euro]

50. Why isn't Rin more popular with the girls? He gets nervous talking to them, plus he's too oblivious to notice even if he DID have some fans

51. Why change Suguro's hair? She gets bored with keeping everything the same, and she wanted a visual representation that he was getting serious and going into kind of a training arc

52. Things Katoh pays extra attention to when drawing: trying to capture the feel of whatever she's drawing (like "that looks warm and soft" or "I bet that guy stinks" cough Lightning cough)

53: Does Rin take after Yuri more? (He's got her eyes!) Katoh tried to draw Yuri so she looks like both twins. Personality, too - Yukio has her smarts and Rin has her optimism

54: Do you ever wanna be like Mephisto? Well she'd like to be able to get away with just ANYTHING EVER, but no, let's not be like Mephisto

55. Konekomaru not only carries around a cat toy in case he meets any cats, he MAKES cat toys to carry around based on what he thinks the cats would like

56. How'd you come up with Shima? Go read the fan book!

57. Do the kids have Twitter/Instagram accounts? Rin - probably not. Konekomaru might be on some social media. Paku and Izumo are totally on instagram

58. Is there something Rin makes that you wish you could try? All of it! That's the whole idea! He's good at cooking!

59. Will we ever have a (G-rated) reveal of what ALL of Mamushi and her family's tattoos look like? Maybe! She'll think about it

60. Does Arthur have a repertoire of different hairstyles? Not really, he just puts some of it up on the top. Heck he might even have people to do that for him

61. If you wrote a shojo manga what would it be about? She'd have to do a lot of research before even coming up with a story, since there are so many style differences between the genres aside from just the subject

62. The other two of Mephisto's top 3 favorite foods: Cup ramen and....f-fried bubblegum?? Is that a THING???

63. Where do you start when drawing a character? Usually the outline of their face but if it's a complex pose/composition she'll start with whatever's in the foreground (like hands)

64. If Katoh could have a familiar, what demon would she choose? Mephisto. As the all-powerful author, she might actually be able to command him as a familiar!

66. If you swapped Yukio and Rin's relationship around what would change? not much, you'd pretty much have Rin going to the Illuminati and Yukio going to the past

67. Top 3 foods/souvenirs to try in Kyushu? Well she doesn't know what’s good CURRENTLY but when she was there she always used to like burdock tempura udon, hakata torimon (a kind of manju with white bean paste inside), and Chikae style cod roe. today I learned Katoh went to high school in Kyushu

68. Katoh listens to music a lot while she's storyboarding, then when she and the assistants are all drawing and inking they put various videos/movies and stuff on in the background

69. For all his hitting on girls, is Shima actually popular with the ladies at all? He's got enough girls in his life that he probably COULD find a girlfriend if he really wanted, but the double agent thing tends to get in the way. He still wouldn't be as popular as Yukio though (side thought/translator’s note: Shima would be proud of being number 69.)

70. Katoh has the ending planned out in a big-picture way, but there are still a few details here and there that she's fretting over

71. It's cute when the boys put their ties over their shoulders when they're working on something! Where'd that come from? She just figured a tie might get in the way and that seemed like a realistic way to get it out of the way

72. Looks like Yukio is getting some facial hair! What about Rin? They're both about the age for it, but maybe Rin can't grow a beard yet. Maybe a little peach fuzz here and there

73. Katoh's favorite blue exorcist merch? There were some exorcist licenses a while back, and the exorcist pins. Basically it's really cool that these little accessories she drew ACTUALLY EXIST NOW, LIKE YOU CAN HOLD THEM IN YOUR HANDS

74. Okay realtalk how long do we have left, I don't want the series to end yet? We're solidly in the second half by now but it's not, like, ABOUT to end yet

75. Katoh would be a Knight meister, based on what characters she likes to play in games and such

76. How many people in the whole exorcism cram school? More than you think! She doesn't give a number but apparently licensed exorcists also attend classes for new meisters, etc, so there's a wide age range attending

77. How's Arthur feel about, like, studying Taming on the way to becoming Paladin? He's at least mostly accepted that you have to use demons to fight demons effectively

78. Konekomaru started wearing glasses in his first year of middle school, so like 7th grade (more recent than I thought!) He has one spare pair, in contrast to Yukio lol

79. Katoh's current obsessions? Ghost/scary stories! She's even been going to live readings of them recently

80. Media Katoh consumes for inspiration? A wide range of foreign teen drama, horror/suspense, shojo manga, light novels, anime, etc. Special focus on things where two boys are in conflict or there are brothers involved

81. If they weren't exorcists what jobs would they have? Rin - chef. Yukio - doctor. Shiemi - uh, florist?

82. Inspiration for the design of True Cross Town? Katoh and her assistants gathered up a bunch of references, picked out stuff they felt matched the tone, and mashed them all up together

83. Did you use any references etc for the school/exorcist uniforms? She says she probably should have but she just kind of made them up before publication

84. Favorite part of drawing? For color pages, picking out a color scheme. For black and white, drawing in all the little details (though she doesn't always get time to lately)

85. Once again confirms the demon kings' weird hair is a representation of their horns. ADDS THAT PEOPLE WHO CAN'T SEE DEMONS CAN'T SEE THE WEIRD HAIR

86. Now that Yukio's at the Illuminati, where's he gonna get his Jump SQ and spare glasses? Well he probably never planned to stay for long, but hey it's a big ship and they might have an optometrist and/or newsstand there

87. Do you base the demon characters on any references etc? Not really, she just gets a general idea of popular demon designs and then makes up her own in her own style

88. Merchandise Katoh personally wants to have made: stuff that an adult could just use in their day to day life. Also, it's not gonna happen, but if her favorite figure brand made AoEx figures she could die happy

89. If Beelzebub's host body was a beautiful woman, how would Shima react? Would the womanizing win out over the bug phobia? Katoh replies that Shima would probably just faint from being near a girl that pretty, before the bugs even got involved

90. Will the twins ever get to smile and eat dinner together again?? We'll just have to wait and see!

91. What do you check at a "scenario check"? what's a scenario check man I dunno They check for people being out of character or the setting feeling off. They had a lot of these checks for the anime, but they also do them for the drama CD, games, and all that other stuff where multiple authors are involved

92. Why does Shura use baldy as an insult for people who are clearly not bald? She feels like they have some kind of metaphorical, mental kind of "baldness" and she's calling them out on it. Whatever that means

93. After Blue Exorcist ends, what do you want to draw next? She has SO MANY IDEAS, SO MANY

94. Did Katoh make up the Shinto chants that, for example, Izumo used against Gedouin? They're assembled from bits of actual Shinto prayers according to what feels right in the scene

95. Yukio reads the Jump SQ, right, and, just hear me out here, he likes gag manga, right? Does this mean he reads Salaryman Yukio? It's something he would read, but let's say that in the AoEx universe there's just a very similar manga that he finds oddly relatable

96. What do Yukio and Shima do in their free time on the Dominus Liminus? oh my god you guys this ship has so many amenities. Yukio probably spends time reading in the library, which they totally have. There's also, like, a gym, and a movie theater, and a THEATER theater, all of which are free. Shima probably hangs out at the pool (!) and goes to the movies, and hits on illuminati girls, lol

97. Easiest character to draw? The ones with boring simple hair, lol. Lightning gets an honorable mention for ALSO not having eyes in most shots, but Rin wins--he was specifically designed to be easy for Katoh to draw because that's what you want in your main character

98. How do demons understand gender? They just possess whatever feels like the best match to how they feel in Gehenna, whether that's a man, or a woman, or a rat, or whatever

99. Where do you start when you're coming up with a story? She starts with character design and how the characters relate to each other. Currently she's just continuing an existing story, so she works on splitting up the overall plot into episodes and fleshing it out with scenes and information about characters

100. When do you feel most happy? She honestly feels like she lives a very happy life overall. Mentions noticing a lot of little things, like how nice her cats' heads smell when she cuddles them or taking a nice cold refreshing drink of water. There's happiness in everything. aww.

Barked at people in high school ironically but it became unironic real quick

Can’t cook very well but is good with a knife, especially at a fast pace

One of those kids who either purposely spells the first word wrong in a spelling bee to just be done with it right away or tries the hardest and manages to win (there is no inbetween for this heathen)

Bites ice cream with his teeth

Has snorted pixie stix far too many times and sneezed blue after each time

Has taken a bite out of a pool noodle because he liked the texture and impulsively bit it (ADHD things✨😌)

Hidden Lives ~ Winn Schott

Chapter 3 - Supergirl

"This is the D.E.O., the Department of Extranormal Operations," Hank spoke, turning Kara's attention to him. "We specialize in monitoring and neutralizing otherworldly threats. That means you."

Alex visibly flinched at his choice of words, her masks crumbling by the second. Hank motioned to the door, and Alex tried to help Kara sit up but again Kara shrugged her sister off. The three of them followed Hank to the door and down a long hall to the central room where Kara's pod was kept.

"Your ship." Hank gestured to the object, like a bored tour guide. "And others." He pointed to various ships visible through glass walls and on monitors. Kara's pod was still the only one they had positively identified.

Kara's gaze halted on one of the pods, sleek and slender with a coat of arms on the side. "That's a Daxamite ship." Disgust dripped from her voice.

Lily looked at Alex questioningly, hoping for an explanation. Alex just shrugged, clearly as confused as she was. Kara clearly refused to elaborate, untrusting of the three agents. Alex most of all...

Hank looked nonplussed, seeming unsurprised by her outburst. When it became clear that Kara wouldn't say anything else, he continued.

"We keep your ship here as a reminder of the day you crashed. It was actually you're arrival that showed us the need for this organization."

Kara blinked, speechless. Lily couldn't blame her, it was a lot to take in. Eventually regaining her wits, Kara said, "I don't understand. My cousin was here two dozen years before me."

Hank nodded. "He may have been the first, but you proved that there were more coming. A lot more in your case." Hank pressed a button on the vast array of computers and a photo of a familiar Kryptonian prison popped up. "When your ship escaped the phantom zone, you pulled Fort Rozz with you. Unleashing the worst convicts in the galaxy on Earth." He pressed another button and the mugshots they'd been able to retrieve from the prison's computer popped. "For over a decade they've stayed hidden. But in the last year, many have been emerging, making themselves known. They're planning something. We're just not sure what it is yet."

Kara gasped, the gears grinding in her head before she whirled on Alex. "Your plane! Your plane wasn't an accident. They must've been trying to kill you."

No one spoke. It was an avenue they'd considered. But there wasn't enough evidence, and at the end of the day, it didn't matter. The Fort Rozz escapees would be hunted down, either way, they were too dangerous to be loose on Earth.

"I can help you stop them," Kara was grasping at straws. Pleading for a chance to prove herself. Lily winced, painfully reminded of herself when she'd started at the DEO.

"Maybe—" Lily started, glancing at Hank, but he shut her down instantly.

"How?" He openly scoffed at Kara, "you couldn't even stop us from capturing you."

"I'm...still learning," Kara replied, her voice small.

"Look, Ms. Danvers. Our job is to keep people in the dark about alien life on Earth, and nothing says 'covert operation' like a flying woman in a red skirt."

Kara's temper had clearly been ignited, her next words were much stronger. "They know about my cousin, and they don't fear him." Kara was painfully naive. As Lily and Alex knew there would always be people who hated and feared things that were different.

Hank voiced what neither of them had the heart to say, "Plenty of people do, just not popular to admit it. You wanna help? Go back to getting someone's coffee."

Hank walked away leaving no room for discussion.

Alex immediately began to plead with her sister, "I know you're mad and you're hurt. I wanted to tell you every single day." She held out her hands placatingly trying to stem the coming flood of anger.

Lily moved off in the same direction Hank had, giving them the space they needed. She waited by the transport, just wanting this day to be over already.

Her phone buzzed.

Incoming call from Lena Luthor.

Lily picked up on the first ring. "Hey, Kiera."

Her sister laughed. "I missed that. You know you're the only one who calls me that."

"What can I say? I'm special."

They bantered back and forth lightly for a few minutes before her sister finally said why she was calling.

"I want to rebrand the family company."

Lily's breath hitched, memories of herself and her sister tied up in chairs while Lex wreaked havoc on their city flashed before her eyes.

"Lily?" Lena asked uncertainly.

She didn't answer at first, taking shuddering breaths as she reigned in her emotions.

"Why do you have to ask me? It's your company."

"Lily." Lena sighed. "I know that you don't want anything to do with the company and I don't blame you. But you still own half of it."

After Lex's arrest, with their father dead and their mother in the wind, the company had been divided between the two of them. Lily had promptly fled Metropolis and never come back. Choosing to ignore her newfound responsibility.

"I don't want it." She breathed to her sister, her voice small.

"I knew you'd say that. I had my lawyer draw up the papers to transfer ownership. You can look them over tonight."

Lily nodded. "Yeah. Ok."

"It really was nice talking to you." They'd talked only a few times since Lily had left. Never for very long and never about anything of much substance. This was the first deep conversation they'd had in years. Even if it had gone straight for the kill shot and brought up Lex and the company he'd dragged through the mud.

"You too, Kiera. If you ever take a break from your empire, come visit me." This single conversation had been enough to remind her how much she missed the only family she had left.

"Love you, Kóri." It was automatic, once upon a time, Kiera had said it to her every day. But this was the first time she'd said it since Lionel's funeral.

There was silence on both ends of the line.

"I love you too, Kiera." Lily hung up quickly.

She wiped a tear from her eyes choosing to focus on the happy memories that name generated.

Lily had been only five, but she remembered it clear as day. Lionel had just gotten back from work at his company. He'd pick her up as he came through the front door, swinging her around like a superhero as she giggled madly.

"How is my Kóri today?"

She'd made a face at the unfamiliar word. "Silly, my name is Lily." She had explained with all the seriousness a five-year-old could muster.

Lionel laughed, a great booming laugh that filled the room. "I know. Kóri is an old word, it means daughter. And every time I say it, I'm proud that you're my daughter."

She'd beamed up at him, as he spun her around once more before setting her on the ground.

But a five-year-old's emotions were fickle.

She shook her head petulantly as he set her down. "I don't like old stuff." She'd stuck her tongue out, hating the idea of anything remotely old.

"Is that right?" Lionel crouched down until he was eye level with her. "I guess you don't want your present then. It's really old."

She was scandalized at the thought of being cheated out of a present. "No." She shook her so fiercely that she almost fell over. "Gimme."

He pulled a small gold necklace out of his pocket. It glittered in the light, not looking nearly as old as he'd claimed. She reached out both hands, stretching on her tiptoes trying to grab it.

Lionel held it just out of reach. "What's the magic word?"

Lily pouted and Lionel almost caved. Finally, she said, slightly annoyed, "please."

He set the chain into her hands. It weighed more than she expected and she nearly dropped it. She looked at it with wonder, proud of the shiny object that was now hers.

"Promise me you'll always wear this." She'd been taken aback by his serious tone, even at five she'd sensed something was wrong.

So, she nodded seriously. "I promise."

Lionel smiled. "I love you so much." He kissed her forehead before moving on to his study.

She rubbed the pendant. The familiar grooves of the engraved lettering brought her comfort. "I promise, dad." She murmured, her words echoing across the years.

Alex arrived a few minutes later. Slightly out of breath, as though she'd been shouting. Lily opened her mouth to ask how things went with Kara, but something in Alex's expression made her old off. Besides, it wasn't hard to infer that Kara had been angry.

The ride back to the base in the city was even quieter than the ride coming here. An awkward silence stretched between the three of them.

Lily practically jumped out of the van when it finally parked in the garage. She headed straight for the locker room, not having the energy to change but also not willing to be in the DEO another second.

She stuffed her uniform into her locker, not bothering to fold it like she normally did. She slammed her locker shut. Her forehead rested against it for a moment, and she closed her eyes. Trying not to think of all the things that seemed to be crashing down around her today.

She was bone tired as she walked back home. And it was midnight and she had no patience to revel in the city's sights tonight. She knew the walk from the DEO to her building by heart, so she paid little attention to the sidewalk in front of her until she crashed into something and warm.

A cardigan.

And in that cardigan, Winn.

"Hey." It was all she could think of, the last thing she wanted right now was a conversation. Even with a nice guy, but she couldn't just say nothing after she'd crashed into him headfirst.

"Hi." He replied. He seemed just as distracted as she was. Glancing up and down the street as he spoke. "Great night for a walk isn't it." He rubbed the back of his neck, though it seemed more out of frustration than awkwardness.

She shrugged. "I wouldn't know. I got off work like five minutes ago."

He half-nodded. His gaze wandering again.

"What are you looking for?"

"Just a friend of mine. We were talking and now I can't get ahold of her. She's probably just at her apartment, but I thought I'd check." He waved casually, trying and failing to make it seem like no big deal.

Her stomach knotted, Kara. He's out here looking for her. Her worry was alleviated by the fact that Kara would most likely be home when Winn got there. She tried to keep her face lightly concerned. As though she wasn't one of the people responsible for kidnapping his friend.

"It's nice of you to check on her." She offered, trying to ease a bit of the tension on his face.

He nodded, trying to smile, but it came out forced.

They both moved to walk down the sidewalk in the direction they'd been going before.

"Uh, Winn." She called, making him turn. "Text me when you get home, so I can make sure you weren't killed or anything."

He nodded, a real smile ghosting his lips this time.

A couple of the city sights finally appealed to her as she continued walking. A bit of the crumbling weight she'd been carrying had eased.

She tried to keep awake for Winn's text, just to be sure nothing bad happened, but exhaustion eventually one out and she fell asleep.

She rolled out of bed late the next day. The alarm clock on her nightstand sleepily blinking, 10:37. She yawned widely, she happened slept that long in a while. Memories of Lex kept coming to the forefront, turning her nights restless and terror-filled.

She grabbed her phone from the nightstand, pleased to find a message from Winn waiting for her.

Winn: I'm fine, but my ghost would have been happy to join you for coff

Lily smiled at the half-finished last word, sleep had clearly caught up with him as he wrote. It warmed her heart that he'd still written even though he'd been dead tired. She shot a quick response.

Lily: Glad to hear it :)

She moved through the kitchen, taking her time, no need to rush on a Saturday. After turning the coffee maker on, she moved to counter. She sat down and booted up her laptop, prepared to look over the papers Kiera had sent the night before.

An unfamiliar logo greeted her as she pulled up the documents. She smiled at the name her sister had chosen, L-Corp. Getting as far away from the Luthor name as it could, was the best move the company could make.

She scanned the documents, trusting her sister not to throw in any confusing loopholes and crazy legal jargon. Satisfied, she signed the papers electronically, before sending them back. She fired a quick text to Kiera to let her know what she'd done.

Lily: Congrats on being the solo queen of L-Corp. I just sent the papers. I like the name :)

She'd just opened the fridge, her hand inches from the egg carton when there was a knock on the door.

"Coming." She shouted, setting the eggs on the counter. She grabbed sweatpants off the stool and shrugged them on.

"Hi," Alex said awkwardly.

"Hey." Lily had absolutely no idea what to say. Words were generally easy with Alex, but she was on rocky ground at the moment. She let Alex have the first word.

"I won't apologize for being mad, but I shouldn't have hit you, and I'm sorry for that. I...get it now. When I talked to Kara last night. We keep all these secrets in the name of our job, and sometimes people get hurt. You did it to me and I did it to Kara. I know you didn't do it to hurt me." Alex shifted uncertainly as she finished. Not sure what to do now that she'd finished.

"I was about to make pancakes." Lily opened the door wider, unspokenly inviting her friend inside.

"And cinnamon rolls?" Alex asked, her face lighting up.

Lily nodded and they both smiled. The awkwardness quickly dissipating as Alex stepped inside.

"I'll even let you use my blender to make your nasty vitamin drink." Alex laughed at her words. Now that Alex had tossed Lily a line, the words came much easier. Soon they were wrapped in conversation like nothing had changed.

"So tell me more about this cute guy you met the other day," Alex said. Reaching around Lily to steal a strawberry that she had chopped for the pancakes.

Lily smacked her hand away, no one got between her and strawberry pancakes. "There's not much to tell really. I ran into him again last night, we talked again. It was nice." Lily shrugged. About to skate around the how of her meeting with Winn, but she stopped. No more secrets.

"There's something I should tell you." Alex nodded, miraculously holding another strawberry. Lily rolled her eyes. "His name is Winn, and I met him because I was doing a threat assessment on Supergirl's allies." The name felt odd rolling off her tongue, Supergirl. Catco had coined the name that morning, other news stations jumping on the bandwagon. It suited her though, Alex clearly agreed, as she smiled at the word.

"So on your first meeting with prince charming, you lied your socks off?"

"Shut up." Lily brandished the chopping knife threateningly, but Alex only laughed. "How was I supposed to know he'd be so cute?"

"Stop it," Lily reprimanded, Alex had sneakily reached for another strawberry. "Keep that up and I won't make you cinnamon rolls."

Alex gasped, "you wouldn't dare."

"Then keep your hands off my strawberries." Lily moved the bowl to the far side of the corner before turning away to grab a skillet for the pancakes. "Go make your smoothie." Alex's hand paused inches away from the strawberry bowl and she pouted before sliding off the barstool.

"Fine, fine." Alex raised her hands in defeat. "Do you even have vegetables in this apartment?"

"I do." Lily looked offended. Alex rolled her eyes.

Alex opened the fridge, reaching for the plastic container with her name on it. Lily kept it there for Alex's smoothies like Alex kept a jar of coffee for Lily in her fridge.

Lily flicked on the radio and soon they were both jamming out as the small kitchen filled with the smells of breakfast.

Lucas is an angry, closeted and frustrated gay teenager, while Eliott is the handsome, smart and popular guy in school. They hate each other… but not forever.

There will be Angst in this one too, so just careful with the reading.

This is the best for both of us

His living room smelled like the backroom of a night club now. Air filled with smoke, making his eyes burn even more. His tears stopped somewhere around the second joint, leaving dried traces on his face as reminders. He let out a deep sigh with a load of smoke and put the cigarette into the ashtray. This was the last one, which meant that he had to smoke actual cigarettes. But where did he put those? He looked around in the living room, his head hanging upside down from the couch’s armrest. He could only hope that his sister didn’t find it and took it with herself.

His limbs felt heavy, his head dizzy thanks to the weed, but all he felt deep inside was numbness, eating its way to his heart. He couldn’t forget Lucas’ face as he left his apartment. He was crying, but he moved like he wasn’t even here. Eliott knew that feeling too well, but he couldn’t let himself into this. He got hurt so many times and Lucas proved him that he can’t trust Eliott, can’t trust his feelings towards him. It was the most painful thing he had ever done in his life. Letting go the person he loved more than anything. He was watching Lucas from afar for so long, wishing to change the boy’s anger into friendship or even more than that. He couldn’t believe it when they kissed, it was the most beautiful thing he had ever experienced.

He shook his head, closing his eyes angrily, trying to push back the memories deep into his mind. Even smoking didn’t help him forget all those things they had done together. He hated that. His whole apartment reminded himof Lucas. The kitchen, the bathroom, the living room... He couldn’t sleep in his own bed since days now, because his pillow still smelled like him. He could just wash the sheets and everything, but as much as he wanted to get rid of the memories, a little piece of him were holding onto Lucas so hard, he wasn’t able to do it. So he just avoided his bed and only went inside when he needed clothes.

His phone was buzzing on the coffee table, but he didn’t wanted to see who is calling. It was either Sofiane or Lucille. He knew he wouldn’t be able to talk with them. Not without making them worried, which would mean they will be coming over. Eliott just wanted to be alone, drowning in sorrows. His mind was somewhere in a really dark place.

When he got annoyed, feeling his blood boiling under his skin, he got up and grabbed the ashtray, throwing it across the room. Thankfully it was made of a hard material, only cracking a little when it met with the wall, ash and cigarette butts covering the floor around it. Eliott opened the window to let out all that smoke and get some fresh air without leaving the place. He was mad at himself. More than ever before. He wanted to give a chance to him and Lucas so badly, but he couldn’t.

During the weekend with Lucas his deepest wish was to tell his secret, to let it out and make sure the boy knows what he has to deal with when things get serious. Now he was glad he didn’t tell him, it would wreck him completely to hear that Lucas doesn’t want him because of his illness. It’s better like this, letting him go, telling him about his bipolarity after they split up. He would be lying if he’d say it was easy. He was always scared when it came to that topic. He lost most of his friends, even his girlfriend after he got diagnosed. Only Sofiane and Idriss stayed with him. He couldn’t wish for better friends, honestly. They were supportive, ready to learn about his illness and help him through the dark phases. But sometimes they couldn’t help. Sometimes it just got so bad that no one could drag him out until it was over.

He felt fresh tears streaming down on his cheeks, making him even more angry. It was always like this, during depressed times he got mad easily, saying things to his loved ones he would have never said. His mind were fucked, ignoring any kind of sense, just letting the anger drive it. He looked at his phone, it was buzzing again. Ignoring it would be better, but he saw Lucille’s name on it, so he dragged himself to the table and picked up the call.

“Eliott, thank god! Why aren’t you answering my messages? I was worried.” she said, sounding just like their mother. Eliott sighed, letting the cold breeze freshing his body.

“I don’t wanna talk right now.” he said quietly, voice completely hoarse thanks to the amount of weed he smoked and the crying.

“What is going on? You’re having an episode?” she asked now even more worried than before.

“Lucille, just leave me alone!” he said, raising his voice a little. He had no patience for this bullshit right now. Can’t he just lay down on the couch and wait for the end? He didn’t wanted this, he wanted Lucas, but it was impossible.

“Eliott, listen here, I am your sister and I’m just...”

He had enough, hung up on his sister and threw the phone on the couch, kicking into the coffee table. He ignored the pain that spread in his feet. Even that was better than the aching in his chest. The voice in his head was screaming Lucas’ name over and over again.

He didn’t remember when he fell asleep, but he woke up laying half on the couch, half on the floor. His back was hurting like a bitch, just like his neck. This wasn’t the ideal bed for such a tall person like him, but he couldn’t care less. Walking to the kitchen was fairly easy this time, the force that was pulling him down yesterday seemed to be almost gone. He made himself a strong coffee, then lit a cigarette. He wasn’t hungry at all, being sure that if he would force anything down, it wouldn’t stay long.

After he had his little morning routine, he walked back to the living room, sitting on the couch. He had to get up for a second, since he felt something under his butt. It was his phone, still being where he threw it last night. He sighed, putting on the table, not even bothering to check his messages or missed calls. As he lit another cigarette, putting it between his lips, he grabbed a sketchbook and a pencil, starting to draw. It was his only way to let out his emotions without talking to anyone. Art was his way to speak into the world.

Hours passed, the living room floor was covered with crumpled papers. Eliott was crying again, throwing the sketchbook away and curling up on the couch. He couldn’t stop drawing that crying hedgehog, like his brain tried to make him feel guilty. It required a lot of self control to not pick up his phone and call Lucas immediately, begging him to come back. He was the only one that could ease this pain, but Eliott was sure that the boy could never handle his bipolarity. Especially not these days when he was mad, sad and just not himself. He can’t let Lucas suffer even more. It was already painful enough knowing that he got bullied in school because of him.

He fell asleep on the couch yet again, but this time he had a dream. A dream that showed him moments from his past. It hurt him, but at least he could see Lucas again. That adorable face of his, with that sweet haircut.

Eliott walked into school, he wasn’t really in the mood to talk to anyone, but he had to put on a fake smile. The worst side of being tall and handsome is that girls will always find the way to cross your path, even if you try to avoid them. And Eliott tried his very best for sure, but the girls in this school were like octopuses, sticking to him without letting him breathe.

“Good morning, Eliott!” jumped in front of him a very, very blonde and smiley girl. He tried to remember her name, he really did, but at this state of mind, he couldn’t give any fucks.

“Hey!” he said, trying not to sound as bored and frustrated as he actually felt.

“I was wondering if you wanted to join us to the first common room meeting.” she said, handing him a little leaflet. It was really well made, pretty background, readable letters and just nicely put together. Eliott took it and stuffed in his pocket without reading it.

“I’ll see if I have time.” he mumbled and walked past the girl now.

As he stepped into the building, he saw him, that beautiful boy. He was packing his books into his locker, not realizing that Eliott watched him, so he used his chance to check him out. He was short, looking almost like a kid with that spikey haircut. He had a pretty face and Eliott couldn’t imagine how soft his skin could be. But the thing that catched his attention were those bright blue eyes. He felt like this boy wasn’t even real. How can one human being has such unnaturally bright blue eyes? Like the ocean. And Eliott was ready to jump into it and swim around.

He got stratled when someone smacked his back with a loud “Hey, dude”. He was ready to punch that person right in the face, but his eyes met with Alex, his school friend. This guy could be a bit annoying and sometimes as smart as the rock on the bottom of the ocean, but Eliott liked his company. They got closer after his best friend, Charles went off to London with his girlfriend.

“Morning, dude.” Eliott replied with a small, but this time totally honest smile.

“Oh, hey, Lucas!” Alex yelled now and walking past Eliott went right to the short boy. He got really pissed now. He was aware of that they were friends, but it still made him mad that Alexandre could just walk up to Lucas, have a handshake and be all cool with it. And the way Lucas smiled at him was not helping him calm down. That sweet, toothy grin was something Eliott could kill people for.

“Alex! You’re gonna be late.” he yelled a bit too angrily, walking to his friend and grabbing his arm, avoiding to look at the short boy. He would get soften from those big blue eyes. It was best to avoid awkward situations like that.

“Damn, you are really grumpy today, huh?” Alex said, raising an eyebrow and still not moving from Lucas, who was holding a book to his chest.

“Just go, Alex. I don’t wanna see your asshole friend anyways.” Lucas said suddenly, his words spreading like venom in Eliott’s chest. Yeah, he kept forgetting that his crush hated his guts.

“Not like I wanna talk to someone who can barely peek through grass.” Eliott spit out suddenly, cursing inside his head for saying such things, but he couldn’t help it. “I’m shocked they let you in without supervision.”

“What did you just say?!” Lucas huffed, sounding really angry. Eliott looked at his face now, he was frowning, his hair reaching straight up to the ceiling. He looks like a cute hedgehog.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t know you have hearing problems.” he said now, playful grin appearing on his face. Maybe he can just tease him like this, having a little fun and still staying away.

“Okay, calm down, Lucas!” Alex said, stepping inbetween them. Eliott was a bit disappointed, he would love to see Lucas coming at him. Like a baby hedgehog.

“Yeah, I don’t want you to get hurt, little one.” Eliott said, fueling the anger in Lucas even more, but Alex turned around and grabbed his arm now.

“Come on, Eliott. We’re going.” he said now seriously and pulled him away, making sure that he stays between the boys as they leave.

Eliott looked behind him as he got farther from his sweet crush. Lucas smashed close his locker and leant to it, looking really upset still, and it really hurt the tall boy’s heart to see him like this. He wanted to run back and hold him in his arms until he smiles again, but it was impossible. Not just because the boy hated him, but because he can’t let himself fall in love again. His heart broke once, it can’t happen again. No one can love him. He was crazy, not able to make someone happy.

Eliott’s eyes opened so quickly, he started to feel dizzy and almost fell off the couch. His head hurt, so did his chest still. He felt a tiny bit hungry, so he walked to the kitchen, making some toast. It was just so exhausting to grab two slices of bread and put them in the toaster, waiting for it to be ready. Minutes went like slow hours. His brain was spinning around, keep showing him Lucas’ face. His soft smile, his messy hair in the morning, his ocean eyes. He could remember his smell like he was standing right there in front of him.

He noticed that the toaster made a little noise, shooting out the roasted bread slices. He grabbed one and started to slowly much on it. It had no taste, like he was eating ash, but his body needed some food, so he ate both slices. He could feel sweat covering him, his face felt weird from all the dried tears, so it was time to take a shower.

Every step was an eternity, it took him long minutes to take off his clothes and stand into the shower. He turned on the water, letting the warm drops soaking his body. Everything felt so numb. He closed his eyes to protect him from the water, not moving to get the shower gel or anything. He eventually got out when he was feeling cold. Grabbing a towel and wrapping around himself. He looked in the mirror, not recognizing the face he saw there. Dark cirles around his eyes, the bruise on his left cheek seeming blue-greenish, skin pale and looking thin like paper, his hair more chaotic than ever, water dripping from it.

He sighed, closing his eyes and falling to the bathroom floor. The pain in his bones resonated with the aching in his heart. He pulled up his knees, wrapping his arms around them, crying uncontrollably. His body was shaking from cold and the gapsing between ugly sobs.

He was in his bed now, hearing noises from far away. He slowly opened his eyes, feeling like the sun is blinding him. He turned away from the window, looking at the door of his room. Lucille was stading there, arms crossed, eyebrows frowned. She looked both mad and worried, it was her speciality to show those emotions at once. Eliott groaned, knowing that he won’t have a free minute without her supervision.

“Don’t groan at me, Eliott Demaury!” she said, walking to the bed. “I’m here to help my stupid brother and that’s what I get?”

“I didn’t ask for your help.” he mumbled, pulling the blanket over his head.

“Well, you have to deal with it, because I’m not going anywhere.” she said seriously. “Sofiane and Idriss are worried themselves sick. They called me five times today just to know if you’re okay.” she sighed, it was kinda reassuring that his friends still cared even if he was completely ignoring them. “Sofiane told me about the boy. What is his name? Isak?”

“Lucas.” he mumbled from under the blanket.

“Yeah, Lucas. He told me what he heard. I can’t believe you got yourself into this again.”

“Can you shut the hell up?” He yelled now, pushing off the blanket, looking furiously at his sister. “I don’t need your lecture right now, Lucille!”

“Oh really?” she raised her eyebrows. “Look where it got you. Being a mess yet again.”

“I can’t fucking help it! I’m not controlling my damn heart, you know! I tried to stay away! I really tried, but I couldn’t. I screwed up.” he said, voice getting quieter with each word, eyes filling up with tears again.

“Oh, Eliott...” she sighed and walked to the bed, sitting next to her brother, pulling him into her arms. Eliott took a deep breath, burying his face into her neck, wrapping his arms around her waist. Her hands were slowly running up and down on his back, helping him to calm down a little.

They stayed like this for long minutes before Eliott laid back on the bed. His sister tried to make him eat something, but he wasn’t hungry at all. His body was craving for sleep, but his mind just couldn’t stop. He was laying there, eyes half open, suffering from Lucas’ smell that was sticking to his pillow like a stubborn stain.

It was friday morning, he forced himself to go to school, since he was feeling fairly okay yesterday. He hoped that none of the girls wants to talk to him this time. He was feeling like shit and not ready to even see a glimpse of Lucas. But he couldn’t miss too much days, or he would have to repeat the year. It was already hard for him to start over his first year at a brand new school, but since he basically had an episode in front of his class, he couldn’t stay there. People were laughing at him, making fun of his breakdown. If it weren’t for Sofiane and Idriss, he probably would have killed himself then and there. It was just too much.

He walked to the school yard, people were talking, laughing even, but he could hear some whispers and some students carefully glancing at him. He ignored them, trying to make it to his locker without freaking out. They are staring because of the incident with Lucas. They don’t know about your illness. They don’t know.

He was standing at his locker, his body moving on its own, packing books in his bag and out of his bag automatically. He got scared when someone tapped his shoulder gently. He looked behind, eyes meeting the worried face of Alex. He studied Eliott’s face, spending long time to examine the bruise on his cheek, then he started talking.

“Are you okay, dude?” he asked softly, putting a hand on Eliott’s shoulder.

“Yeah, of course.” he said, voice sounding so robotic and fake, but that was all he could force out of himself.

“Listen, if you need someone to talk to, I am here.” he said seriously, squeezing his shoulder a little and then letting go. “Breakups are tough shit, but you will manage it.”

“Everyone knows about it, huh?” he asked, surprising Alex with the sudden bitterness.

“Pretty much, yeah. Whoever took that picture made sure that everyone sees it.” he said honestly and got startled when Eliott slammed his fist into the lockers. “Bro, calm down...”

“What about Lucas?” he asked, hoping that Alex knows anything.

“He’s pretty fucked up, he doesn’t talk to anyone, not coming to eat at lunch break... But he had been to school everyday.” he said, shrugging a little. “People try to pick on him, but when they noticed that Lucas is not listening to them they stopped.”

“Good. Good.” he mumbled to himself.

“Listen, dude, I know Lucas can be too much. Hitting you was pretty shitty of him, since you had nothing to do with those damn pictures, but he cares about you a lot. I’ve never seen him being so down before...”

“This is much more complicated than that, Alex.” he said seriously, looking into his friend’s eyes. “I’m doing this for the both of us.”

And he had to believe that this is the best for him and Lucas. They could never be happy together. The boy couldn’t trust him even when he gave him his whole heart, and he couldn’t trust Lucas not to leave him after he sees him at his worst state. This was safe, less painful. Cutting things off before it gets too serious. This is the best for both of us.

Okay, I hope you guys liked this short chapter from Eliott’s POV. I am sorry that it’s full of angst again, it will be better soon, but I felt like I had to write this to make it clear that not just Lucas, but Eliott is hurting too. His decision was the best for them, at least he thinks it was. Feel free to leave any comment about this, I always love to read your reactions to my new chapters.

CHAPTER 2 - EVENT - ELECTION

[3:00 PM] Monoboar!: As soon as you step inside, you are greeted with the foyer decorated by balloons and partied-up tables. All sorts of colors depicting of the campaign runners are represented in the decor and tables, and one table is decorated for each of the people who are running for leader. If you have a good eye, then you see that there's things on the table! On the tables are portraits of the campaign runners, their interviews, and some trinkets for you to take.

"Lady Hime-sama.. I haven't spoken to you s-since... ah, well, how are you...? What are your thoughts on this..." She bites her tongue, resisting the urge to show her distaste. "...event?"

[3:06 PM] MAGGIE! 🖊 POLITICS!: Maggie offers everyone in the foyer a glass of water after getting a platter in the kitchen. [3:07 PM] Eri [arcade]: Eri walked over to the foyer. [3:07 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: "Stupid," is what she responds with, frowning and crossing her arms. "Let's just get outta here already."

"I'm okay, though! I'm, um, yeah. I'm fine!"

"I tried... well, I wouldn't say talk to Lady Maggie about it, but I definitely told her my own thoughts... I wouldn't vote for most of these people, if I were you..."

She's basically whispering to Hana now. The poet is a bit judgmental.

@Hana Minami (Melody) [3:10 PM] Eri [arcade]: Eri waved back. [3:10 PM] Keiko Taisei | :O: Keiko doesn't glare at Artemis as she walks in, despite her bread crimes. You're on thin ice :unamused: . [3:10 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: "Yeah!" she whispers, a bit loudly. "Everyone's a fudgin' nutjob! What the heck is with the prizes? The decorations? I feel like I'm at a circus voting for which clown should perform first!"

[3:11 PM] Hazel Hazeldine | 🔖: She giggles, hiding her mouth behind her hand. "Fufu~ that's almost it, isn't it...? I do not wish to be very rude, but I suppose I'm a bit nervous... I feel as though this has happened before..."

@Hana Minami (Melody) [3:14 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: "Ugh, me too, it's like deja vu or something, right? I don't feel like any of this is gonna change anything! Like, it's totally just that STINKY PIG," she yells that last part, "trying to set everyone up!"

@Hazel Hazeldine (Mars) [3:16 PM] Hazel Hazeldine | 🔖: "Perhaps... but we might have to vote... who knows what Sir Piggy will do if we do not..." Hazel looks troubled, hand near her mouth curling into a loose fist.

@Hana Minami (Melody) [3:17 PM] 🔫Artemis Black🔫| Pyrotechnics: Artemis waves at Keiko, Hello Lady. [3:17 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: Hana frowns again, looking utterly annoyed. She groans. "I'll just vote for a cute girl or something. It's better than nothing."

@Hazel Hazeldine (Mars) [3:18 PM] Monoboar!: Monoboar waddles around with a glass of water in his hoof, waddling eventually to Artemis.

"How're ya? Have you been breathing, oink?" He asks.

@Eri Nakama (Rozen) [3:35 PM] Willy | Guess I'll Lose: Willy makes a staff appear in his hand and starts twirling it. "Oh my heavens- is this going well. I never hosted one of these before." She mummurs frantically.

@William "Willy Wonder" Sherman (Dingle) [3:39 PM] 🔫Artemis Black🔫| Pyrotechnics: Strange. [3:40 PM] Hazel Hazeldine | 🔖: Hazel stops for a moment, quirking a brow at Hana.

"Lady Hime-sama... by all means, you enjoy being a princess, yes? I'm almost a bit shocked you didn't try running."

@Hana Minami (Melody) [3:42 PM] Willy | Guess I'll Lose: He glances over as he slides the entire staff into his sleeve. "I'd say its going fine." Willy takes out William Jr. and starts petting him. "I mean, we haven't even given speeches yet, so nothing can really go wrong at this point." @Maggie (Lexi) [3:43 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: "Oh, yeah, of course! I dunno, though. Like, I don't want people in my kingdom to end up, like, killing people." she answers simply. "I thought about it, but half these people are smelly anyway! I shouldn't have to show them I'm the princess, they should, like, just know already!"

@Hazel Hazeldine (Mars) [3:43 PM] MAGGIE! 🖊 POLITICS!: "Yeah... speeches..."

"But what if it goes on for too long? Will people get bored?" She asks with an anxious expression.

@William "Willy Wonder" Sherman (Dingle) [3:44 PM] Hazel Hazeldine | 🔖: "Oh... fuu, I see." Hazel nods, a hand pressed to her chin. "That's reasonable, Lady Hime-sama..."

@Hana Minami (Melody) [3:45 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: "I know." she responds, smirking to herself. She's was so great!

@Hazel Hazeldine (Mars) [3:45 PM] Willy | Guess I'll Lose: "Maggie." He puts a hand out in a 'stop' motion. "Chill. Some people might get bored, who knows, but the point of this is to elect a leader, not entertain people like a carnival or something. Besides, if it were, I'd be killing it right now." @Maggie (Lexi) [3:45 PM] Hazel Hazeldine | 🔖: Mhm...

"Ummm, do you think, uh, A...A.." She's struggling to say the name. "Akihiko... what would he think of this?"

@Hana Minami (Melody) [3:47 PM] MAGGIE! 🖊 POLITICS!: Maggie, does indeed chill, clicking her pen as stress relief. "You're right... Just concerned that this might fall apart... Anxiety with these things, ya know?"

@William "Willy Wonder" Sherman (Dingle) [3:48 PM] Hana Minami! | I can';t: Hana jumps, expression saddening. "W-Well...he would..." she put her hand to her mouth.

"...he would be happy to see his friends all together in one room, and...he would cheer everyone on."

She pats her chest in reassurance, smiling at the blonde.
