bnhhnf not a hc but im just dumping it here bc i feel you'd have a good take on this i can't properly contextualise into words (but don't feel forced to reply im just rambling here)

but i REALLY hope merrical doesn't become a thing in survivor not because i personally dont like the ship/have contradicting hcs but because i feel like it'd take so much away from what the original game was about? itd change the entire tone away from the series and really make it stand out negatively.. like fo handled its character relationships REALLY well especially familial, and even though it is a star wars game with action and laser swords i feel like they really hammered in that the message of the game was about these individuals from various different backgrounds who have all had something horrible happen to them or been through a bad experience coming together to heal. to me, the game is about healing from your trauma and i loved that there was nothing romantic about it like i see so many media on that topic do (eg having chr1 be magically okay and happy bc chr2 kiss them etc) and i feel putting in romance after would just cheapen it???? jfo was REALLY good at balancing the different scenes, and they all blended into eachother in a way that made sense.. assuming survivor will be similar to fo, i cant imagine how they would fit a romance arc into it that isnt just a singular kiss and holding hands in cutscenes, aka never touched upon. also, theyd need to do like... entirely new coding and text dialogues for the optional conversations

i also really hope it doesn't happen because it would follow the ever tiring trope of "a guy and a girl of similar age now exist in the same space, obviously there's some tension😏 because guys and girls can't JUST be friends😏😏" and as someone on the aroace spectrum it's so UGH to me because for starters it's so??? corny?? its the most boring way to start a romance ..

anyway BSHDJFJS i am so sorry for the rant i just am a lil salty about the entire concept... might just be me but i love medias with no romance at all that solely focuses on found family and i want jfo + js to continue that🤷‍♂️

Yeah, as an asexual person, one of the things I always liked about the Jedi Order is how they are (in the films at least, EXCEPT YOU ANAKIN AND LOOK HOW THAT TURNED OUT) portrayed as not having romantic attachments which is why I loved it, even as a child. I felt like finally I had some good representation... It's why I only really accept the first 6 films and JFO as canon (lol sorry to all animation / sequel fans. I CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT I LIKE!!!!!) (okay fine, I don't mind parts of The Mandalorian either...) I would *love* it if they keep Cal and Merrin as just friends with more of a sibling vibe, but *if* they don't, well, that's what headcanons are for. However, that said, given how well-written the first game is, I have hope that it would be handled gracefully.

It would be so nice to have another story without romance of any kind!! Breakfast Tea Inc is ALL FOUND FAMILY, ALL THE TIME.

i have major issues with the ancient magus bride's central relationship that i could go into like in depth detail about, but the issue im finding on top of it is that it remains unclear as to whether or not its *literally* meant to go down a true romantic path. on one hand, everything about it can read as if the title/circumstance is meant to be misleading because of how theyre actually explored as the series progresses. but in the same breath it also doesnt read that way at all. that vagueness is really not something i wanna fuck with, in its context.

the undertones and the manner in which the dynamic is executed makes me so uncomfortable for so many reasons. which is a shame because the character writing, worldbuilding, and treatment of magic/fantasy is so excellent and enthralling. ive wanted to watch it since it came out because of that. so this is so damn disappointing. since i cant exactly ignore it.

so ill probably wait until its completion before choosing to continue it, so i can see what is meant to be happening. because this is a... huge hang up for me. and id hate to get attached to it and have it end in such an off-putting manner. and thats my take at least. call me 'boring' if you want but lol.

#if its meant to be romantic it literally reads as child grooming #like it isnt just... the age difference thats... the issue #its how its being written #i could go into huge detail about this #usually ill give fantasy age differences a pass under certain contexts!#but the way this one is executed if literal is so off-putting i was shocked #i knew itd be a lil weird getting into it but i was hoping it was better than i was told #it was. worse. huh!#i was trying to justify it in my head as i continued watching but i really like. cannot #i consider myself a very lenient person when it comes to these things but #there are some lines i cant cross comfortably...#ugh this sucks i was so excited for this anime

idk if this will make sense but ok so im an aroace lesbian or sapphic oriented aroace or whatever your preferred way is to say i don't feel sexual or romantic attraction but i still like not men in a different way right? right. so to cishet people i feel like them knowing im a lesbian is more pertinent but within the queer community im more vocal about being aroace than a lesbian

i feel like if i were with other queer people who knew i was aroace but was still like "ugh yes women" for the most part (at least in my experience) it'd be chill like they'd get it but if i were with cishet people who knew i was aroace and i did that itd automatically be an invalidating "aha gotcha" moment and then id have to explain tertiary attraction and everything until they understood

the conclusion ive come to with this is queer people are usually more likely to understand fluid and seemingly contradictory ideas and concepts outside of the black and white of it while cishet people tend to feel the need to understand everything in no uncertain terms at least when it comes to identity

nothing we didn't already really know just wanted to try and put some words to it for my own benefit

Snippets Ch.4 : Johnny and Josuke (4) with the Same Crush (3)

Previous Chapter

A set of multiple drabbles/oneshots combining characters (i.e Jojos) from multiple parts and AUs.

"That guy...do you think--" Josuke started.

"That's their boyfriend? No idea." Johnny quickly answered, trying to play it off as if he didn't care.

It was quite the opposite. He may have cared too much.

To say Johnny was jealous was an understatement. But it seemed like Josuke was feeling some of the heat too, seeing you hanging out with some guy and proceeding to talk about him with Josuke when the two of you went to lunch the other day.

Josuke was still in the dark about Johnny’s own crush on you, which was a relief for the jockey, but it was hell for him, having to be afraid of either guy winning you over first.

He just needed to muster up the courage to talk to you again, but it was a lot more difficult than he thought it’d be. You two always seemed to be busy when the other wasn’t. Of course he still had Gyro (and occasionally Josuke and Hot Pants) to keep him company, but he missed you.

The little spat the cousins had was forgotten for a while. They didn’t exactly apologize to each other, but just starting to talk normally again was enough sign there was no hard feelings. The younger teen was still very confused about Johnny’s intentions that day.

‘ Was he trying to be a good role model or was he just mad I was leaving him at home?’ he thought. It didn’t really matter to him anymore, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t concerned about what Johnny must’ve been thinking, and if he still did feel that way.

They sat at a small table on the far side of the kitchen. Josuke, looking rather bored, held his head on his palm, while Johnny was playing on their shared Switch. Or at least, was pretending to be after Josuke brought up the subject.

“Hey, can I ask you an honest question?” The Japanese teen breaks the icy silence once again.

Johnny merely raises an eyebrow with a low ‘hm’ that was barely audible. His heart silently raced thinking of what the boy sitting across from him had on his mind to ask.

“(y/n)...how long have you known them?”

A simple enough question to start off with, Josuke thought. Yet Johnny’s lips still pursed.

“Uh...about half a year now. We got really close in that time I’d say.” That last part wasn’t even to get a rise out of Josuke, he just genuinely thought so. He really cared about you, romantically or not.

Meanwhile, Josuke had only known you for the duration of the summer, which was about to end in a couple of weeks. Perhaps if he’d beg Johnny to let him stay he’d have more time to bond with you, but there was also the issue of him feeling homesick from time to time.

God, if he could take you back to Morioh with him..it’d be like a dream come true.

They both had quickly forgotten about whatever guy Josuke was referring to earlier, mixed up in their own thoughts about their relationship with you. Besides, he had only ever seen the guy once, there was no way you’d switch up on him that quickly.

He had no dates or anything planned with you like he usually does, though. Not that he didn’t want to spend time with you, he just felt as if he was coming off as a little...clingy.

Higashikata had been trying to drop hints that he liked you, such as buying you things, having heart-to-heart conversations as he’d walk you home, calling you pet names, and ending his goodnight texts with a little heart emoji. He considered himself a romantic, but when it came to your reactions, you kinda brushed them off platonically. Perhaps you’d never been flirted with before?

His texts were still frequent, making sure you were having a good day and all, but he figured maybe he should start being a little more risky..

“What do you like about (y/n) anyways?” Johnny asked.

There was a pause for a couple of seconds, before Josuke scooted back in his chair and got up from the table, intending to retreat to his room for a couple of hours.

“The same things you do, probably.”

“Ow! Gyro, what the hell was that for?!”

“Because, idiota, you need to confess already.” He hovers over Johnny like a judgmental parent.

Josuke had left the house to get some groceries, and in that time, the jockey called Gyro over. Not for advice specifically, but that's what it had eventually turned into. Sitting on the floor of Johnny’s room (where it was painfully easy to find porn magazines, Gyro won’t let that go as long as the two of them live).

“Like seriously, this is getting embarrassing to watch, just do it already.” The Italian pointed a finger at his friend. “Sooner or later you’re gonna do the thing where you get the girl drunk and then sleep with her regardless of feelings.”

“Ugh, I’m not like that anymore Gyro!” Johnny folds his arms with a pout his friend knows all too well at this point. “I’ve never committed to anyone before, so of course this is a little more awkward for me than it is for anyone else, you know this!”

Indeed he did know. It was somehow one of the things they always ended up talking about.

“Listen, I know how this is gonna end. Its gonna end with you in this same room, bunched up in several blankets, listening to Fleetwood Mac on repeat with 3 pizza boxes to make yourself feel better.”

The American scoffs.

Gyro sits upright on his bed. “I’m right. Look, this gal means a lot to you, I know. I’ve seen it. You’ve never stared at someone with such a…not hateful look in your eye.” It was half a joke, half truth. “And I don't wanna see you sad, so you’re just gonna have to pull yourself up, grow some steel balls, and ask them out. For real. For both of our sakes at this point.”

Johnny rolls his eyes. “Wow, Gyro wants me to be with a girl? Pigs must be flying.”

“You are so not funny.” The Italian’s teeth flashes for a moment as he scowls.

“Alright, since you’re such a casanova, why don’t you tell me what to say to them?” At this rate, there was really no other choice for Joestar to take. He could ask Hot Pants, but knew she would give him similar advice.

“Nyo-ho! I’ll show ya! All you gotta do is gimme your phone.”

As soon as the word ‘gimme’ was uttered, the jockey clutched his phone as if it was a baby. The last few times he lended his friend his phone, it didn’t go so well.

Gyro would’ve snorted if he wasn’t serious about this.

“Come onnn! It--”

“Won’t go like the last three times, right? Fat chance.”

“Just hurry and hand it over before I tackle you!”

The larger man did that far too much already, much to Johnny’s dismay. Once Gyro had him in a headlock, there was no getting out of it. He defeatedly raised his phone up to the man for him to take.

“If you ruin anything, I’m doing the same thing to you, AND taking your damn horse.” The Italian waved him off as if he was merely an angry toddler. As he typed, Johnny tried to peer over and see, but his friend was too adamant on turning side to side so he couldn’t. The expressions Gyro was making wasn’t a good sign either. First confused, then mischievous, then looking a little too proud of himself. The jockey’s hands could start sweating at any moment from the sheer anxiety this was giving him.

“Aaaaaand done! There we go, all set!”

Johnny reached for his phone as soon as the words left his mouth, unapologetically in a snatching manner to immediately read the text sent.

::‘Hey This is Johnny darling. Hope your day has been as beautiful as your smile. I was wondering if you’re free tomorrow by 12pm. I have something very important to tell you. See you soon xoxo.’::

Alright, so it wasn’t as bad as he thought itd be (not nearly as bad as the time Gyro dared him to send a ‘send nudes’ text to you) but god, it would look suspiciously out of character for you to see. He can’t even remember the last time he typed ‘darling’ instead of ‘darlin’ and actually bothered to punctuate his texts. And who even used ‘xoxo’ anymore?

His friend looked at him with a big grin, waiting for his reaction. A slightly more pure smile than if he were waiting for Johnny to get a joke.

“Soooo what do you think? You gotta pick some nice clothes out for your date.”

The shorter man sighs.

“Its...passable.”

Josuke got home a little later than he expected. He was surprised to see there was still Prince CDs in stock at the store. Thats one of the perks of coming to America, he guessed. He was more than ready to put them into one of Johnny’s old CD players he had found. It was already hard for him to listen to pretty much anything without thinking of you. At least if it was Prince specifically, it would help him feel better and he could jam out to it.

Finally finding the track he wanted, he grinned, letting the music play out loud and hopping on his bed. It was a good few minutes before he had started getting that feeling in his gut again.

..Crap, this wasn’t helping either.

The teen felt that he couldn’t endure this much longer. Love was something he took very seriously and to be so unsure about your relationship just made him feel funny. He had to at least know for sure if the both of you were on the same page. Josuke was sick of being so anxious about it.

Josuke laid down flat on his back, pulling his phone out.

“You know what? I’m gonna ask them out.”

ooh okay so we start of with them... talking, idk, maybe brainstorming for a video if its set in the canon universe, and logan or patton or someone uses the word “epiphany” (maybe to insult roman because things are getting a bit heated, like “wow you only just had that epiphany” or something) and roman is like “wait what does epiphany mean” and logan (or patton but probably logan) is like “it means a sudden realization or insight” and then virgil or logan adds, “it’s basically a fancy word for realizing you’re stupid” and patton is all “now kiddo be nice :( :(” and roman is all *offended princey noises* and they continue discussing and that’s that

and then we just get some small scenes of logan baking with patton or reading with patton or brainstorming with patton or being forced to take care of himself by patton or comforting patton or talking to patton... just, little scenes of logan and patton being sweet together and how patton makes logan happy and logan is Confused by the feelings he is feeling because ????

for example - after the previously mentioned discussion thing, patton’s like “logan those were some great ideas! you’re really smart” and logan is happy and blushy. we see the next morning - maybe logan wakes up and patton’s all “oh logan wanna help me make pancakes!” and so on and so forth and we just see logan being very blushy and sappy around patton (all the while, completely bewildered by his feelings)

so he goes to maybe virgil or roman? i wanna say virgil because ive said it before and ill say it again, i live for platonic analogical, but i feel like roman might make a little more sense for this....?

and so anyways he goes to roman (virgil?) and is like “hello i require your assistance im quite confused about some of my feelings (ugh) and i thought itd be helpful to look at the data with someone more well versed in emotions and all that icky stuff”

“go ahead, nerd“

“i seem to be feeling peculiar around patton. whenever i am with him, i find that my face often feels hot and my stomach gets all twisty and i typically feel very happy and at ease... [insert description of what a crush feels like here, idk ive never had one]”

and roman just looks at him, smirking. and it takes logan a minute and then-

“oh my god i am an idiot“

and roman just laughs and says, “well you know what they say - epiphany is a fancy word for realizing you’re stupid”

logan chucks a pillow at him.

and then this can go a few ways: one, logan approaches patton at some point and is like “patton i have come to the conclusion that i have romantic feelings for you. would you like to be in a romantic relationship with me?” because i love the idea of logan finding out that he has a crush and being like “oh. this is the information, this is the logical course of action. i will be super cool and casual about it, which will in turn completely fluster the object of my affections.”

orrrr we can make it lowkey angsty and have it be all “but patton is all that is good and pure in this world! hes amazing and im... me. emotionless, et cetera... why on earth would anyone, much less patton, want to be in a relationship with me?”

and then roman talks some sense into him or whatever and finally... oh maybe roman is like “sorry padre i cant make it to family movie night today i have pressing commitments in the imagination and i need virgils help” and virgils like “wait you do-?” but then roman discreetly communicates that he’s trying to get logan and patton alone together and virgil is like “ohhhh okay cool beans yeah uh im going to the imagination with roman” because logan and patton very obviously like each other, as anyone with half a braincell can see

and they’re watching a movie together and finally logan tells patton and ofc patton likes him back and then its sweet and all. bonus points for they kiss or are about to kiss and are interrupted by virgil and roman running back in because (virgil speaking) “this idiot (referring to roman) got us into some trouble with a dragon witch/a manticore chimera/a swarm of angry bees/some other problem and forgot his sword? never doing that again, roman you’re an absolute moron and i hate you” “cmon emo nightmare/some other nickname, it wasn’t that bad” “it was. it was definitely that bad”

and at this point roman sees that logan and pat are holding hands or incredibly close or blushing a lot or something and is like “well criticize me all you want, it worked!” and uhh... maybe it ends with showing the next morning where the two are making waffles together and are happy glasses gays in love. yayyyy

...im actually now realizing that this doesnt have to be logicality, it could work for basically any logan ship with a bit of tweaking, but yeah :)

This is such a cute idea! I’m addicted to making weirdly specific Spotify playlists so this is perfect. I have an ✨eclectic✨ music taste but my favorites are usually bedroom pop (mxmtoon, chloe moriondo, khai dreams, etc), romantic classical (think Debussy and Revel), and indie (although I like some Megan Thee Stallion, AC/DC, Nirvana, etc when I’m hyping myself up). As far as my personality goes, I’m pretty insightful and like to support people whenever I can, even if I don’t know them well. I can be a little chaotic sometimes, but I like to think it’s a chaotic good. I love tea, blankets, philosophy, deep conversations, the outdoors, and writing. I’m also an INFP and a Taurus :)

okay while this song is actually kinda sad, i think tHIS is pretty cute. issei comes off as this intimidating guy, and the more you get to know him the more you forget ab this idea of him you had or whatever? like the lyrics “i made him perfect, cause i wanted him to be” are really prominent in the point i’m tryna make because like even tho the lyric is obviously sad bitch shit, music is up for interpretation and this is like “hello ok he actually a real mf and shiiit maybe he cool😁✊”

2. nice boys- TEMPOREX

kinda sad. i don’t care how unemotional he might act, everyone has shit that brings them down. PLUS HES A PISCES THERES NO WAY HES NOT SAD SOMETIMES. this song just really taps into insecurities for him, and the song just gets under his skin in like a very therapeutic way. also “because he’s a pisces” some of his emotions are super intense so the “because he cares too much” line hits him fuckin hard

this is some shit he listens to more with his team, absolutely. no doubt they blare this shit during weekly practice. but, he really really likes the song. so, when you’re hanging out and he has the aux? it’s one of the first ones he puts on. you two jam to it together. he’ll come up w dumb little dances to fit with certain lyrics (stole some of them from oikawa and hanamaki, but he won’t tell you)

okay unfortunately i must say him and hanamaki get fuckin faded in empty fields at two am all trashy like. but they make it look good idc. and if you smoke, cool, if you don’t he does not care. he always associated getting high with,,, getting high and everytime he listened to this song it just was one of his getting blazed jams, but now he’s got like a different kinda “euphoric” feel with loving you? like i said this bitch is a pisces even if he doesn’t overwhelm you with affection, he thinks ab you 24/7

i’m gonna be fucking honest with you. even though he’ll listen to anything, i really don’t think this man is looking up ‘classical romance study tunes’ playlists in his free time. he definitely enjoys the music, but that’s only if someone points it out to him. and he’s listened to you talk about it before, and watched you as you heard the piano and gauged your reactions and thought u were pretty cute he’s not gonna lie😼. so he definitely just looked up classical romance and picked the first recommended song and added it on there. he’ll dance w you a lil bit, but it wouldn’t be that quiet, intimate slow dancing in the dark you think would come w this song. itd just be a little sway as he hugs you from behind while you get water, or he twirls you once randomly with a laugh UGH I LOVE HIM

ok. this one was fun for me. idc. double meaning lol. so this song is literally about two dead bodies in a bog and ,,, and he works in a funeral home PLS LMAOFJAJDJA I THINK THATS SO FUCKING FUNNY AND SO DOES HE. but also this song literally is my idea of love. this is my idea of love. and yall listen to it, with your stupid little death joke, but he looks at you and he’s just like ‘oh’. yknow? like i said, i think he puts a lot into work. and he literally plays for a powerhouse school there’s no way he doesn’t practice a lot. so that means there’s a lot of time where he’s physically not there and definitely can’t text, because he’s trying to improve. and while he wouldn’t stop volleyball for someone else, he understands that you are like super amazing for being so Cool with him not being the most available. the song just reminds him of how compassionate you are and also he does miss u when he’s at practice YKNOW?

FUCK. FUCK THIS SONG. GOD. NO. LIKE HE REALIZES HE’S IN LOVE WITH YOU WITH THIS SONG. So I’m sending a hug to anyone else who also suffers because it is not an easy ride <3
