so a while back i officially reached 100 followers on here and, as a way of thanking all you wonderful human beings, i decided to make a post rating some stranger things characters based on how they would react if asked their sexuality and if they support the lgbtq+ community. y’know, a 100 follower celebration post. so here it is! i apologize if it’s short and i’ll probably make a part 2 if enough people ask for it and suggest new characters. enjoy!

Yo are the express owls Okay? are they doing okay at their actual jobs? imagine just being at work at the end of the month super busy time of month and your boss is like “WHERE THE HELL IS JIM??” and you have to tell your boss jim is probably being forced to be an actor just so he can get a ride to work. do you think when hiring people when they put the intrusive question of “do you have a reliable ride to work every day” they have to put “any train operated by The Conductor is NOT considered a reliable ride to work”? interesting. i worry about them. also can i please be in a society where all genders wear tweed?

Based on the above im a little iffy on the conductor. not in a “if you like him youre bad” type of way just a. wew. this guy really forces these people to act. how has he won? what kind of danganronpa shit is this where you hold other peoples jobs on the line with the promise of “you may get home/to work....if you act for me” thats a little fucked up! That being said i know a lot of people like to make him to be a mix of like an owl and a fire spirit WHICH IS FINE but idk i kinda like the option of him being a raptor type thing? like a dino type of raptor. i mean. it would still go with the bird themes. theres parallels there. he has TEETH TOO so like theres no way this thing isn’t a predator animal of some sort. His sense of smell and hearing must be Impeccable.

I really like the whole thing around the penguinos tho <3 like “oh this grooves guy is following his passion <3 and hes getting absolutely stomped on by this old asshole of course we will help <3″ and like. I can’t really see the express owls and conductor having a family type of relationship but i can DEFINITELY see the penguins seeing each other as family. Like if an owl walked up to the conductor with a suggestion the conductor would scream their head off but if a penguin walked up to grooves with a suggestion he might actually consider it. Maybe not go with it right away depending on the idea but he would def consider it and appreciate the idea from a respected peer. the man HELPED the conductor with a movie once. this guy is about creative endeavors entirely. yes he calls the penguins bad actors but idk i feel like it could be seen in the same way as like a color guard coach is intense. He has space to grow but like. man. I feel like Grooves also just has more range than conductor? conductor like only makes westerns of some sort but grooves makes underdog stories he makes sci fi stories he makes stories about music.

Also just saying JUST saying. I legitimately think grooves deserves the award and can also see why he’d be pissed about losing and i hoooonestly cant blame him for cheating to win either? like shit. imagine losing so much to an old guy with less range and who isn’t even grateful. imagine working your ass off with people you rely on, who while may not be as skilled, you choose to work with because you know they have your back and want to also make something great too, and imagine even offering to be a part of the competition’s movie, actually starting a community, and losing every time to as big as a douchebag as the conductor. believe me, i aint saying anything he did was okay or anything, but i can definitely understand where grooves is coming from when conductor kinda just sounds like a whiny bitch about not winning Once

tbh considering how often folks in this fandom get frustrated about art of particular characters gets way more attention than others, I’m shocked grooves doesn’t get MORE attention. that’s his thing. his movies are out of the norm and thus he never gets the acknowledgement he deserves and he can only really get it by cheating

Oh, that is quite a question, isn’t it? Damn I just got out of work but you’re making me think deep thoughts here…

I think that is actually a question were we cannot find a unifying answer to - because like you said for you being a good person and a bad parent aren’t compatible, but for me they are. And I think we’d first have to define what everyone thinks constituents a good person and what constitutes bad parents!

For me a good example of that is Shannon Diaz who, in my opinion, is a good person. She means well and she tries hard but she is quite frankly an awful mother. Yes, she was put in horrible situation after horrible situation and she broke on that - which is something human and cannot be begrudged - but she left her child for several years and while she did try to reconnect and she was learning, she wouldn’t haven contacted Eddie on her own. She came back because the opportunity arose not because she tried to get back to them. (She could have become a good mother but she never got the chance.)

In the same vain I think Bobby pulled a lot of shit back in Minnesota but he still seemed to be a loving and kind father - so my question to you, friend, would be: do you consider Bobby a good person (the Bobby prior to Season 1 mostly)? Despite being the type of person who went to work drunk and / or high and by this endangering others and himself? Because I don’t think so yet the show frames him as a good person despite his downfalls (and I am not saying being an addict makes someone a bad person but I am saying knowingly endangering others does) - and if you think someone cannot be a good person but a bad parent, can someone who is a bad person also not be a good person?

See, one thing I learned working with children is that some people just aren’t made to be parents, and I am not talking about my time with child services, i am talking as a kindergarten teacher. Some people are very nice and they try hard but damn, parenting does not come natural to them and I worry how this will develop in the future. Like one of my mom’s is severely depressed and she might have Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy which doesn’t make her a bad person - but a bad parent at times.

And now, this is were I make you regret asking me specifically about this topic (or maybe not, who knows what your interests are) because I do have a bit of an expertise in what constitutes good / bad parenting and I will talk about it at random whether I am asked or not (and hopefully my language won’t fail me as most of my theoretical knowledge is in german, so please excuse any mistakes in technical terminology because I have to find the english equivalents and you know all those untranslatable german words? Yeah. Someone finally figure out how to translate the difference between Erziehung and Bildung please because both cannot be education and also it doesn’t really fit either):

So let’s get into it, shall we?

What makes good parents?

First up: parental relationship and parenting capabilities: several years ago the german department of family, seniors, women and youth (BmFSFJ) released a paper on what skills parents need to become good parents. There a four main skills (and I hope I translated everything correctly):

child-corresponding skills (ability to respond to the individual needs and features of the child, be it in terms of recognising potential or setting boundaries or sth else)

context-corresponding skills (ability to recognise developmental opportunities but also hinderances for the child and acting accordingly)

self-corresponding skills (being able to reflect their own behaviour as well as being willing to learn new things; also ability to regulate one’s emotions)

action-corresponding skills (trust in ones own ability and effectiveness; being consistent, both in their own actions as well as in response to others actions)

You might have heard of Kurt Levin or Diana Baumrind or someone else doing research into parenting styles. Generally there are four main ones, which, if we use Baumrind, differentiate on the aspects of control and demand

(I consider this fairly self explanatory but I will get into it in a bit a little more, soooo)

Now of course parenting isn’t just about the parents and what they do - children also have needs (and yes there is a lot of overlap but I am doing this right, okay?)

To quote my government again (because the paper was actually quite good, okay?) children want autonomy (a chance to do things themselves), expertise (a chance to develop their own skills) and relatedness (that one was very hard to translate but this came the closest; the idea is children strive for social connections, a sense of trust in themselves and reliability)

Also Urs Fuhrer defined 5 basic needs children have which are:

feeling of shelteredness and reliable love (I won’t explain this further except: google Harry Harlow and try not to cry like I do every time I am reminded of this monster of a man)

physical security and intactness (self explanatory, right?)

individual and developmentally suitable experiences (yes, children need to be socialised but it needs to be based on the individual child and how it learns best and all that)

boundaries and structure (CHILDREN WANT BOUNDARIES!!!! ALWAYS!!! CHILDREN WANT YOU TO TELL THEM YES OR NO, they need adults to help them navigate the world! Part of feeling secure is having someone who will tell you no and don’t do this; boundaries protect from danger, they represent support and orientation, they protect someone’s dignity (both the child’s and the parent’s), they give something to chafe against on our way to adulthood (because listen, Erikson wasn’t wrong, a lot of development happens in adversity, we find out who we are in contrast to other people)

a secure attachment (most people have heard about Bowlby and his theory of attachment, right? There are several types, though we are born with certain abilities for attachment and then learn how to attach from our parents, we model relationships on this, attachment determines our feeling of security and our thrive for exploration as children)

And I’ll leave the theoretical at this and go on to talk about the Buckley’s now, okay?

(and try to figure out if any of this has an actual point, uuups)

As for the specific situation of Mr and Mrs Buckley, let’s first see what we know of them, okay? (It’s barely anything) (half of it is assumed)

they are both alive

they are (probably) still married

they warned Maddie about Doug (meaning they somewhat cared)

they weren’t physically abusive and most likely also not emotionally

they probably live on the east coast in Pennsylvania

Buck may still be in contact with them

Maddie considers them good people but bad parents

they accepted losing contact with at least one of their children

Maddie doesn’t want them to know about Doug

That’s it!

Now, I personally think they might be very conservative, possibly unsupportive of their children. They might have had plans for their children’s life Maddie and Buck didn’t agree with, they might have been the types to not listen to their children, maybe they worked a lot. Probably fairly impatient, possibly disinterested in their children. Not good at the parenting capabilities.

Based on their children’s issues I’d say authoritarian or neglectful parenting style (though not abusive because it would be a redcon of Maddie’s background), meaning most definitely unresponsive though I cannot make up my mind whether they were demanding or undemanding, as both these styles - even when not so bad they are abusive and / or endangering to the child - make insecure, dependent and unhappy adults (like the children turn into those once they grow up), which does kinda fit with Buck specifically, right?

Though tbh I don’t think the Buckley parents were that horrible. I know fandom has taken the idea and run with it, mainly because after three seasons we know virtually nothing about them aside from some throwaway lines and all the issues we see in their children.

Now, why do I say this?

One, Maddie is a fairly capable adult despite everything that happened to her and even being as resilient as she is, she still has too few issues for how horrible fandom thinks the Buckley parents are

Two, while Buck has a lot of issues, being cocky and having problems with intimacy and being a bit directionless and still needing a parental figure in your mid-20s doesn’t seem that uncommon to me? Like the only really deep issue I’d say he has (that have to be caused by something deeper) are his abandonment issues (and connected to that intimacy). And it’s been implied they are caused by Maddie leaving to go to College which does paint the picture that he doesn’t have a good relationship with his parents but honestly, that sometimes happens, right?

(Also, and this is where my professional background comes in, I don’t like how everyone jumps to the worst possible conclusions about them, simply because I feel it sends the idea that only if the worst things happened to you, you have certain issues which is wrong. Sometimes small things will trigger something way larger in us and that should not be invalidated.)

And okay, I am getting off topic again (but again, my profession lies here) but what I am trying to say is this:

I do think Mr and Mrs Buckley were bad at parenting because they demanded too much but gave too little (emotionally) and I don’t think Buck is really in contact with them but I also don’t think that makes them necessarily bad people. (just bad parents)

I think Maddie and Buck weren’t as close back when they were children as they are now (at least not after Maddie moved to College) because the Buck we know would not accept a sister he is very close to simply no longer having contact with him for three years without trying to figure out why.

I do think they can’t have been that bad mainly because of how good Maddie and Buck are. Listen, I believe in resilience and already being born with a certain personality and traits which shapes how our environment reacts to us, but which is also influenced and changed by our environment ! (Nature vs. nurture, ya’ll) Now I know I said we find and develop ourselves in adversity but not just. We also need someone to foster and support and reward certain traits or we lose them and this is especially true for being kind and heroic!

Buck especially has shown way to little anger or capability for violence for how the fandom likes to write his parents, which considering his general character and also the way he looks - just doesn’t work! (Because generally especially boys raised in abusive families emulate this behaviour and Buck just - doesn’t! Which considering how “fuck toxic masculinity” Buck is most of the time doesn’t make sense because being tall and buff would make the opposite easier for him and would make it the better strategy for survival, so this would be the behaviour he would have learned)

(unless our writers say fuck being realistic and fuck psychology)

His parents had to have done something right, because Maddie will have left for College by the time he was 12 / 13 probably and we know they consider this her abandoning him meaning they probably weren’t really in contact then and while the first years of your life ARE VERY important for who you become later (urgh, yes, I’ll admit it, Sigmund Freud, the most overrated theorist did get SOME things right) they aren’t everything and you develop for longer and also a young girl like Maddie would have been would have not been self-reliant and stable enough to raise her literal baby brother in a way that made him resilient enough to become the person Buck has become despite her leaving him twice

Not to mention: considering the person we know Maddie is - if their parents really were that horrible she wouldn’t have left Buck with them, she would have taken him with her!

Okay, tbh, I have no idea if any of that answered your question, but I did spend nearly two hours on it so enjoy?

I really don’t have a good answer to your question because we really don’t know enough and what we know doesn’t fully gel with each other and urgh, I don’t know friend despite this being the one thing I actually have some knowledge on!

I’m not even sure any of this makes sense and I am so sorry about that! I was trying, friend, but sadly an answer eludes me

Guess I should have just ended after saying: we cannot find a unifying answer to this because we each have individual definitions of good and bad in regards to people?

Hewwo!!! I’d be very happy to educate you about my wifey!!! (For those of you who don’t know, calling Troy “my wife” is an inside joke. Basically, if asked who is the wife in the relationship between him and Caine, Troy would 100% say it’s *him* that’s the wife, and I quote, “obviously.”)

Now that’s out of the way, please read below the cut to learn about my wife and why I love him!

Troy Calypso! He’s a tall, feral rat man who’s stolen my heart. ❤️❤️❤️

Troy is Tyreen’s twin brother (I’d like to think that neither of them are really sure who’s “older,” so they constantly argue over it.) And because they were conjoined twins, Troy, like Tyreen, is a Siren!

(Sirens are “mystical” people in B//lands who have unique powers like Lilith’s phasewalk, which allows her to avoid damage (becoming invulnerable & invisible to enemies). In Troy and Tyreen’s case, they have Phaseleech, which allows them to power their abilities by “leeching” others! Tyreen can do it with everyone, turning them into husks, while Troy can only do it to other Sirens, which I guess absorbs them out of existence? It’s not really explained.)

So, yeah! Troy’s considered fairly weak by the fandom and the like and they’re not exactly wrong, because his boss battle isn’t that hard at all, but I’d like to think he’s a lot stronger than a lot of people give him credit for! I also like to think that he’s just very misguided and misunderstood, but like... who doesn’t when they’re talking about their wife, right?

Anyway, Troy is a very complicated person. I’d like to think that he struggles a lot due to how he was raised and the events happening around him as per the game. I think maybe he does truly believe in what he and Tyreen are doing, but he struggles to comprehend it as the “right” thing sometimes; it leads to a lot of doubts and questioning himself.

[SPOILERS]

I also think that, despite appearances, him and Tyreen fight a lot more than usual siblings do. It’s very obvious in game that Tyreen doesn’t give two shits about Troy, based on how she deals with his death; instead of checking to see if he’s still alive (which he could’ve very well been) or if he’s okay, she chooses to leech him right away. There’s also a lot of the word “parasite” thrown around between them, because of Troy needing to be cut from Tyreen when they were young.

I also believe that the reason Tyreen was shocked when they learned Troy could leech other Sirens was less because she feels some sense of “being replaced” and more of a sense of Troy not needing her any more and growing into his own person without her - it’s not because she cares, it’s because she’s losing control over him in some sense. Tbh, I could ramble on for ages about how I believe Tyreen is a manipulator and the like in canon (I write her very different from how she comes off in canon tho, so her and Troy do genuinely care for each other as part of my fanon.)

I think Troy wants to do good things and he wants to be a good person, but ultimately, he has to rely on Tyreen because she’s the only thing keeping him alive. He saves Lilith when Tyreen wants to completely leech her and I truly think that was a peek at how much of a good person he wants to be, but he’s held back by the limitations of his own existence.

Troy is someone who I think seeks out affection and attention from people without really thinking about what he has to do to attain it. (Very much like someone who might act out of line just because it gets them the attention they didn’t have as a child.) And I think it’s because he gets so much attention from cult members that fails to look at the consequences of his own actions; he thrives off attention and subsequently becomes blinded by it. Even then, in moments of clarity, I do think he’s capable of doing the right thing if he knows how.

I honestly think he’s a product of a bad upbringing and that’s what drives him to seek out attention by any means necessary - and hey, having a cult and endless followers means he gets as much as he wants when he wants it! That being said, I do think if he was given the opportunity to do the right thing, he would. Especially if someone was there to guide him.

[From this point forward, it’s all self ship stuff, babey.]

More oft than not, this is where Caine comes in. Caine might not be morally correct in most senses of the word (being a mercenary, so his moral compass depends on where money leads him), but I do think that he’s a guiding figure in Troy’s life as well as someone who provides him with all the attention and care that Troy craves - and moreover, needs.

And it’s because Caine is able to lead Troy to be a better person that Troy actually does make more of an attempt. He tries. Sometimes he fails. But more than anything, he learns. He learns that whenever he does well, he is rewarded in the same manner than when he’s done bad. In fact, he finds that whenever he does something out of line, he gets the opposite of what he wants. So, he does better. And he works harder. And despite everything, people start to come around - they start to see him as something more than what he was, and he feels loved.

And that is why I love Troy. Because he’s capable of being so much more if he just has someone to keep his head on straight. If he has someone to teach him how to do things differently; if he has someone to show him that there is so much more than doing what Tyreen expects of him simply because he has to rely on her. He just needs someone to show him that he’s capable of doing good and he is capable of being loved and he can change for the better.

He’s just... a little badly written, is all.

So anyways one time starting about 10 years ago (yeah) I took some characters from a couple of very obscure fandoms and also from some pieces of media that are obscure enough not to have any fandom at all and I made a bunch of very elaborate AU fanfics for them and developed all my favorite obscure tertiary characters from these obscure stories and created a whole network of relationships and personalities and then at one point I had a breakdown about never being able to explain any of this stupid idiot strange convoluted fanfiction to anyone because oops! it’s the only thing that makes me happy anymore! but it’s the worst fanfic in the world. it’s not recognizable as anything anyone’s ever seen before. the characters are just things I made up all on my own at this point. it has nothing to do with any story ever written before by another human being. And then I ate some macaroni and was like wait let’s just have it....... not be fanfiction anymore. Was it ever actually fanfiction? Guess we’ll never know. And now I have OCs!!!!!!!!! But the problem is they only exist in like 86 different alternate universes all of which have their own storylines or at least...... the intention for storylines....... And none of those worlds has any precedence over any of the others so I’ve accidentally created the world’s most unnecessary social experiment (fiction experiment?): What if you had characters with no canonical plot or setting? What would that even mean? If a character’s profession, abilities, location, backstory, age, species, etc. change over and over and over with no “real” default to fall back on then who even are they? Starky oh no what is you doin? :( The answer to all these questions is of course I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And we’re not getting into that stuff rn I’m just. trying my DAMNEDEST to explain why this is the first time in my entire existence on this planet that I’ve publicly posted anything about my stupid OCs. Because every character profile questionnaire and checklist out there is full of bits where I’d have to write in “it depends” and that’s boring. MUCH LIKE THIS POST! For the record yes I know the solution is just pick a universe but I’ll be real with you chief, that’s a whole other post. But back to Steve. Now that you know what we can’t know about Steve, here are some things we can. Because Steve is in spite of all this a basically coherent character that you would be able to recognize, the way you’re able to recognize The Doctor in a new regeneration, or Castiel working in a coffee shop, or a piece of fanart of a podcast character. Here are some attributes Steve always has, whether he’s a baker or a robot or a dragon: --tragically, no, he’s not an actual catboy in most settings, but he always has some animal attribute, even if it’s only a kitty ear headband or facepaint whiskers or something --he likes cooking and dancing and rolling around in the dirt outside --he is an Italian, and a deliberately stereotypical one, in every universe where Italy exists; in every universe where Italy does not exist he still talks with his hands and eats garlic and has an Italian accent but everyone is just like oh I guess that’s just how he is? --his facial features and such look as similar as possible throughout the AUs and you’ll see them below but I MUST also note that he is 1) a very pudgy boy, with fat reserves fit for the survival of much hardship, 2) strong enough to snap essentially any human person in half like a twig, no matter the universe, and the third thing is something I decided just now not to tell anyone because it’s sort of specific and bringing it up would probably make it seem like I have a weird fetish, which of course I don’t have! what part of this character so far could possibly be a weird fetish! certainly no more than 86% --his parents are abusive because I’d already given all the actually interesting and original backstories to other characters and that was the only one left for him, oops --he has dyslexia and forgets things a lot and often mixes up words and hyper-empathizes and has a disordered attachment style but out of all the wondrous weird and terrifying worlds he exists in, few of them have invented therapists, and even in the ones that have, they never really figure out what’s wrong with him; this is on purpose, because I, personally, wanted representation for people who have never even gotten the satisfaction of finding out exactly what’s wrong with us, because I’ve found there are a lot of us out there --he is a Pisces, an Enneagram type 2, and a bisexual; I’m only two out of those three things so no one’s allowed to yell at me about this --he has a special ability to be shipped with basically any other character possible, but most of the time he ends up with two people in the end: Angel, a beautiful boy without mercy, and Joanna, a stoned messiah And with that we’re stopping for now because I stayed up all night making this post and if I don’t post it immediately I’m going to read it over and rightly decide no one should ever see it and then go lie down and wish I were dead. Anyways I can’t draw but I can make horrible things using other ppl’s Picrews so here are some images of the boy to deal this post a killing blow:

1. FIRST NAME: i used to go by my middle name, nina, but now i go by pacifica or paci.

2. STRANGE FACT ABOUT YOURSELF: i have a bunch of weird ailments that honestly are just wild. like sometimes my nerves make me spasm or collapse or i’ll become hyperflexible. my kidneys decided they were lonely so they are... snuggled together... and i’ve had cancer a few times. it’s exhausting.

3. TOP THREE PHYSICAL THINGS YOU FIND ATTRACTIVE ON A PERSON: - smile / facial features. outside of aesthetics, you can tell if someone is superficial or genuine through the intensity of their smile, or if they’re fabricating their appearance or background. i wouldn’t want someone to pretend for me. i want them to be how they are. - personal care. i don’t have preferences on hair / grooming outside of being well-kempt. file your nails & clean them ( like if ur a mechanic or factory worker or other types of physical labor, i get it-- but like an office worker with black nails? ick ), brush/comb/finger detangle/style your hair, make sure your clothes are reasonably presentable... clean, like you actively tried to come up with an ensemble. - physique. not saying people need to be like 8 pack or straight out the gym. nor am i saying i need someone to be like mega massive or mega thin. but preferably someone who like... is comfortable in the skin they’re in, and cares about their body. at the least, cares about what goes in their body and how much their body does for them.

4. A FOOD YOU COULD EAT FOREVER AND NOT GET BORED OF: haribo snacks.

5. A FOOD YOU HATE: i cannot handle the smell of mustard or mayonnaise. i will literally walk out of a room.

6. GUILTY PLEASURE: i try to cut out needless carbs and snack foods, but y’all........ throw some good naan or pita at me and i’m a sucker. i love my hot cheetos and takis, pls don’t take them from me.

7. WHAT DO YOU SLEEP IN: a sweater and panties tbh. i’ve turned into that basic single person in their 20s. if i’m cold i’ll throw on sweatpants too.

8. SERIOUS RELATIONSHIPS OR FLINGS: i vastly prefer serious relationships, but there’s got to be a lot of build up to it for me to pursue someone in that manner. that being said, idk why, apparently i seem unapproachable or intimidating, but i’ve always had to ask out the person i liked.... ask me out first, u fools. i’ve tried to do flings but like i always feel guilty afterward bc i’m not invested, i just pretend hoping maybe i’ll fool myself in the process and i don’t lmao. that being said, it’s been like over a year since i’ve last dated, and two years had passed between that partner and the previous one.

9. IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN THE PAST AND CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WOULD YOU AND WHAT WOULD IT BE: nothing. maybe switch my triple minor to an interdisciplinary double major because that sounds cooler in this point in my life. but other than that? i feel like i did well with the cards that were handed to me. they shaped me into who i am now. and now i’m trying to continue to be a person past me would be proud of. i want to live a life with little to no regrets. to pursue everything i can while i have the opportunity to.

10. ARE YOU AN AFFECTIONATE PERSON: physically, yes. emotionally, it depends. my coworkers are always either thrilled to see me or are like “ it’s paci being over the top cute. ” i love coming into the room to give hugs or do random acts of service or to shower someone with surprise gifts just to say i appreciate them. however, i can be emotionally distant at times and i don’t like to involve people into things. i still feel guilty on most occasions when i vent, even though i know it’s healthy to do. i feel like it’s not other people’s responsibility to deal with my problems or have to endure them, even if it’s as little involvement as listening. such an attitude isn’t great, but... at least i can recognize that now? lmao. u know. baby steps. i’m still learning to trust and let people in. when my former best friend broke my heart it really messed me up in a lot of ways.

11. A MOVIE YOU COULD WATCH OVER AND OVER AGAIN: i love pocahontas, mulan, princess and the frog, and peter pan starring mary martin. i’ve been watching that specific peter pan since like..... birth......... and it’s still one of my favorite films.

13. YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KEEP ANY ANIMAL AS A PET, WHAT DO YOU CHOOSE: a long-haired cat, preferably a tortoise color. i’ve always thought munchkin cats were the cutest. i’d want something that is as independent and self-sufficient as i am.

17. CELEBRITY CRUSH: shrugs? no one atm. i do not keep up with pop culture these days. can i count kyo from dir en grey? i’ve thought he was hot for the last 15 years and counting........ 14 y/o me was really like “ he’s the one ” too!!

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO: i love visiting friends. and like... idk? japan is still interesting, as is italy and greece and jerusalem. but i don’t have like... a burning urge to go anywhere. i’d like to return to vietnam & cambodia at some point as well. people tell me melbourne is my kind of vibe, but... i’ll get there when i get there.

19. INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT: ambivert. though for all that i project in personality, i do take a lot of time to myself to kind of recharge, as you will.

20. DO YOU SCARE EASILY: i do. but i still like scary games bc i enjoy the thrill and chase. suspense is really cool-- gore is not, imo.

IPHONE OR ANDROID: android. i’ve been using samsung galaxy phones since like 2013 and i’m not going back now. i had an ipad once and........ i’m over that. but i’m not like gonna participate in the dumb android vs apple debate........ we’re adults and it’s 2020, c’mon now. put ur energy into something else.

DO YOU PLAY ANY VIDEO GAMES: y’all......... i wish i could be like ‘ i’m a gamer grl ’ but the truth is that i mainly collect games and say i’ll play them but it takes me a trillion years sfdgiohfgiohdf. my backlog is shameful. we don’t talk about that. that being said, i just took up ace attorney: spirit of justice this evening & i’ve been playing through kingdom hearts iii and yakuza 0 as of late.

DREAM JOB: to write poetry & creative nonfiction at my leisure dfogihdohg. travelling writer, sharing about cultures all over the world & the beauty of interaction. very whimsical, i know! i also love studying languages and culture...... so it’s no question writing, sociology, cultural anthropology and linguistics were/are my fields of study.

though, if i did have to choose one that comes closest I’d probably pick richie tozier, bc hiding your true feelings about shit and life in general behind humor? And I don’t think I can make it a clean 10, actually? krbk is obviously at the top right now, and shoritsu is holding my attention a bunch at the moment too! then there’s yulma and laven from dgm, gojyo/hakkai from saiyuki, tokito/kubota from wild adapter... black star/kid from soul eater is def very up high on my list too, and kurofay and syaosaku from tsubasa reservoir chronicles too! doumeki and watanuki from xxxholic hold a very special place in my heart too, really. I have a lot of ships from katekyo hitman reborn but I like all of them as I would like a fave, so none I can give you to make into a top ten list? I’d be able to make a top thirty best ships out of only khr ships hahaha and in the same vein I have a bunch of ships from one piece, but in this case more than shipping it I’m just overly invested in their canon relationships and I don’t much care for fandom content for them..... though, I never say no to some good zolu or lawlu haha

well, either way I am and I have been into a lot of anime and manga so even just considering ships coming from those I really can’t narrow it down to ten orz but thank you for giving me a chance to ramble on this topic here haha

When I want to draw based off the canon relationships I will draw based off them anon, it’s a thing of inspiration when I draw for personal pleasure and if I force myself to go one way or another nothing good will come out of it, I’m sure that’s a thing you want as little as I do! But Mina is still one of my favorite girls in the manga and I’m still of the opinion that her design works wonders next to Bakugou’s, so if you’ll be patient I’m sure I’ll feel like drawing the two of them together again! I just ask of you guys to let me draw the boys whenever canon stuff gets my inspiration and mushy feels for them going without making me feel forced to add in Mina as well even if I don’t feel like it

Maybe something that involves someone coming in their pants in public, in front of people who don’t know? That could apply to several of the aforementioned ships but I like Force-bond shenanigans with Reylo or like remote-controlled toys being used on the most tight-laced of the two (like Thrawn if it’s Thranto). I don’t need a heart-breaking headcanon when Jedi Night happened in canon

I have a couple:

a) Obi-Wan realizes how much he might’ve liked to be born a ~regular~ person and had a family/kids with someone when he holds Luke/Leia for the first time. He’s never really thought about it before, but now that the Jedi Order is gone he realizes how much that possibility makes his heart ache.

b) Many of the Jedi/padawans that survived Order 66 really miss their Clones. Like they have pretty severe PTSD symptoms about the whole Jedi purge, but they can’t help but remember all the hundreds (thousands) of times Clones saved their lives and when they think about them being forced to become Stormtroopers (most of them would hate serving the Empire given its values), those Jedi/padawans feel like they should’ve protected the Clones.

c) I know the timing isn’t completely known with everything, but what if Hera suspected she was pregnant but didn’t know for sure yet when Kanan died. Like, she was debating whether or not to tell him before shit got real and regrets it forever that she didn’t. Likewise, maybe Kanan felt something in the Force and suspected it himself, but didn’t want to scare her and one of his last thoughts was wondering if it was true.

honestly, i’m willing to roleplay most things. as long as both muns are aware of the content they’re writing and understand why they’re doing it and it’s not for like... weird reasons. there are definitely topics that i’d be iffy about actually writing myself, things like non-con and such!

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

to give a bit of context, yuna in canon married seymour when she was 17 and he was 28. that’s 11 years of a gap. yuna was forced to marry seymour, bcus he threatened to kill her friends. but also, keep in mind... that when seymour first proposed it, she was ~sorta~ considering it. bcus it was more of like a marriage out of duty for the people of spira, a distraction. but this doesn’t mean she was comfortable with it on her own accord lol!!!! i would also want to take a look at the marriage conventions of spira. people were dying left and right, without warning. i would say their thoughts as to how much time they had left to live their lives was a bit messed up, wouldn’t you agree (see: cid telling rikku she needed to have kids.......)? also, yuna... had already decided she would sacrifice her life to save spira, so what’s a marriage to seymour gonna be compared to that? at least the spirans would have something to be happy about... ok but i digress lol!!!! a n y w a y, depending on the verse and context, anything more than 7 years would be uncomfortable. if yuna is 18 or older in a modern verse, she will not date anyone who’s a minor.

honestly, i’m not. LMAO in theory, i could ship yuna with too many muses. however, even though i enjoy the idea of yuna and “insert muse here”, doesn’t necessarily mean my yuna will be down with it or the chemistry is lacking. even if i wanted it to work, if it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t fit. also, i find it easier to ship with others who like to talk about the ship ooc as well. it’s hard if i have a lot of things to say about a ship but my partner doesn’t reciprocate that same energy. it’s like i’m that spongebob meme where he’s holding the water or something and his face is small and is like “oh okay” :( i hate feeling annoying or like a bother and that’ll affect yuna too honestly, as much as she likes ur muse.

rip that’s all I write too... tbh I used to write original fiction before but I find myself much less constricted by fanfic? I can explore the characters here more than I can in original fiction where worldbuilding takes most effort

oh definitely paper! if I could I’d buy printed out fanfic too!

I was about 12 I think? it all started with harry potter, like everything else has, and I regret not a second of it!

sometimes when i get very excited about what i’m writing i’ll tell my fandom friends about the specific AU that i’m writing about but in terms of reading the full length fic, i don’t have anyone that i let read before anyone else. it’ll be on ao3 for everyone at the same time.

6) Where is your favourite place to write?

my desk, my pc. I can write on my phone but I like to edit as I go and it’s hard to do on the phone.

for fun, but with the aim of possible future publication maybe?

always computer. i have only recently begun writing fics on my phone because i’ve been traveling a lot and i don’t always have my laptop on my person, but it’s still much more comfortable to sit down and type on a proper keyboard.

at my uni, yes. and it completely sucked bc they didn’t teach anything, just had us write random shit for 3 years so eh

everything? like, any random thing or thought I’m instantly trying to weave into my writing, turn it into a prompt. every new experience is just a basis for me to write on.

oh wow ok this is a difficult one bc I don’t think I even have a wip 7 pages long //sweats let me see... aha, okay, I found one! from back in march when I asked people to send me over some numbers for one of those writing memes and @theexitgarden I believe (??) sent me the prompt “I don’t think anyone could be as lovely as you” for victuuri and I kind of got a blind!victor au from it?? wELP here’s the fragment of it:

His music is vibrant in a way that he couldn't play on his piano alone and the clap of the blades that he can hear from the speakers of his TV makes him only more certain – this boy, Yuuri Katsuki, is skating to the sound of Victor's soul as if it's his own.

What inspired you to RP your muse? — uhhhh well last year erika made sebastian and at the time i was both curious and sick of the fandom i was in so after some playthrough watching and wiki’ing i made an account for a break i didn’t rly plan to stay on that long and now i’m here. i kid that she pushed me but if we are honest my dumb ass tripped.

What keeps your inspiration going? — music usually, my writing has always hinged on mood and muse appropriate music. pinterest sort of covers the other artistic half but i’ve also just always loved photography and symbolic imagery.

Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? i give my interpretation justice because it’s mine i guess? people out here like it and i’m having fun so that’s really all i’m shooting for.

Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO. i actually lost track which is part of the reason for a soft reboot sdfsdfs -- right now i have a lot of them rewritten and queued though i haven’t written one in a few weeks which should probably be a record. i need to be stopped.

Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO. only sometimes. i used to write them all the time, but anymore i have to be really inspired.

Do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO / IDK. what qualifies as a lot ?? i guess yes more than no but as i am usually working most of my head is usually animal facts and resentment unless i am actively talking to someone.

Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO. i’ve had what a year and a half to decide what i’m shooting for and get a voice down so i’m pretty comfortable.

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? — idk i guess it depends? you can dislike things without having reasons, that is a thing people do! but i’m also very open to discussions and viewpoints that aren’t my own even if i don’t agree.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — ok??? i’m not holding a gun to anybody here, i do acknowledge not everyone sees characters the same way and that’s the beauty of different portrayals! as long as i’m not openly being attacked when i don’t deserve it or claiming some sort of portrayal superiority i’m just vibing.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — that’s fine?? opinions are fine??? we’re out here to vibe and play with digital barbies calm down.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — i guess? i don’t think i make a lot of them outside of the occasional typo (especially on mobile my fingers are so shaky and i type fast) and abuse of punctuation.

Hi! I'm still kinda new to the blog and I was wondering what are the 'do and do-not' kind question I should do? Because im sure theres always that one ask thats just Innapropiated, like that one of Michael 'taking advantage og high Jeremy' that was just not cool. i got this ask a lot so ill be clear with yall. im just not a big angst fan? so sending michael asks about his anxiety nonstop and about how he had a panic attack in the bathroom over and over again wasnt that fun. usually if it pertains the musical though you should be find sending an ask about it? but sometimes i get asks that are like “jeremy ur nothing and how does it feel knowing u fucked everything up” like homie how i think its feels? how u think hes gunna react to that? i made this blog to negate a lot of negativity in my own life so i can promise u im going to be answering asks mostly positive always forever. that being said tho i sometimes get asks pertaining to a few things that ive dealt with in the past and these topics make me very very uncomfortable. dont send asks about these topics please. this is the no no list

What was your inspiration for this blog? hoo boy well,,, ultimately i thought of them rooming together and got emotional and made a huge list of headcanons and was like ,,, why not run an askblog for a bit ill just abandon it after three asks lets have some fun. but somehow im still here and i got sucked in by the complexity of michael and jeremy. i know that sounds kinda silly but just, as someone who is dealing with a lot of similar things, like dependency issues and abandonment issues and depression and anxiety, having these fun functioning character to explore was such a gift for me. i believe honestly thats why im still here and doing this. being able to try and portray a healthy relationship and a healthy way of coping and growing has helped me a lot this past month and given me an outlet i didnt have before. TBH THO the main reason i made this blog if imma be real with u guys id because i didnt like the treatment of a lot of these issues in the fandom. it made me very upset to see depression used as an plot device and michaels dependency issues treated as romantic so i wanted to make a blog that had little to no angst. ANYWAYS somehow im still here ,,, gvrkjvrnkjfd sorry i rambled

i know this has been said before but i'm really really happy w how you're handling so many aspects of their characters. i.e. michael being trans, michael and jeremy's anxiety, michael's dependency issues, and other stuff i'm too tired to think of. you made the characters have even more depth than they did in the play and i'm rly grateful for the way you're dealing w my favorite boys. (also your richjake is suuuper adorable) ahhhhhh thank u so much? i talked a bit about this on my main but im really glad people are happy with my decision on this blog because im suPER SUPER NERvous anytime i post an ask dealing with these things. (ask hachi or nate i always message them like freaking out and send them my scripts and asks and wait for them to tell me its ok before i post it omg) also like i talked about before i love,,, having these fun stoner gamer boys to explore these issues with. im honestly shocked by how many people also deal with dependency issues because when i first listened to the musical i was so overwhlemed by the song michael int he bathroom because i had never heard someone basically write “dependency issue: the song” and it felt so so so good to realize i wasnt alone in this pit of despair i fall into so easily aha. but im!! glad everyone is ok with this wild ride im on right now (also thank u so much i struggle writing rich and jake but i get so emotional cause they would TOTES call each other babe)

how come you just use sketch form for most of your drawing (sketches and uses sketch for the final result)? im ,,, not really sure what this is asking but i thnk its along the lines of why do i only sketch my answers?? and i do that because dude do u see how often i post and how lONG some of them are. i made this blog for fun and i love doing comics but i hate lineart and coloring and if i tried to churn out finished pics for every post id defs have given up a few asks in,, shrugs

an art style question. how do you keep the design of characters consistent from frame to frame? my characters they look a lil different every time I draw em (or a lot different) and it tends to disrupt the flow of my comics/animations ohh boy hoo wee props for doing animations im too scared to give that a whirl but!! it helps that i draw all the panels for an ask on one canvas! so if my next panel is going to be the same character in the same spot just in a diff pose i keep the lower layer on just at low opacity so i can use it as a ref! that helps me a lot!

(Ps i love this blog keep it up) personally whats worked for me so far is doing just sketches for art. honestly ive been able to work so much more and post so much more often while also trying to work on my expressions and poses! also taking my own experiences and shaping them to fit the characters has been SO MUCH FUN. th most important thing tho is,,, dont overwork urself dude. if ur having a fun time it shows. if ur just forcing urself to churn out material and its not fun? like shit we doing this for free dont push urself? idk idk overall being looser with my art and writing the dialogue before hand has been the most helpful for me for this askblog! ive run a bunch before including @ask-maz and ive run that sporadically for ,, three or four years? its so funny cause u can see my art style juMP AROUND SO MUCH but i love that blog and i only update it like every other month or so but?? i still like doing it and no on likes those posts but it makes me smile so ANYWAYS

how did you first get into art? (also i really love your blog, it's amazing!) ive been drawing as long as i remember! ive got mad adhd and wasnt diagnosed until late in ym life so i would just draw nonstop in my classes ahaha i used to read the sunday comics a lot and they really inspired me to try and make comics of my own too!!
