It’s confirmed that Matthew Macfadyen plays a TVA agent called Mr Paradox in Deadpool 3. In the comics Mr Paradox is a Mobius alias. Ok there’s no way that Mr Paradox is going to be a variant of Mobius that wouldn’t make sense, but the fact that he is similar age to Owen Wilson, and the only confirmed TVA agent in Deadpool 3 he could definitely be Mobius adjacent, a Mobius stand in if you will, he could literally be a Mobius stand in considering that it’s rumoured that they considered Mobius for the movie but it was deemed to soon after the ending of Loki or something, a reference to Mobius isn’t exactly unlikely though, considering he is basically one of the founders of the ‘New TVA’. Seen as we don’t see Mr Paradox in Loki but he seems to have quite an important role at the TVA in Deadpool 3, maybe he has recently got promoted because of Mobius’s retirement/sabbatical, and therefore is a literal replacement for Mobius.
Why am I so obsessed with Mr Paradox being a replacement to Mobius/ Mobius adjacent, I hear you ask? Well all TVA members are now allowed access to information about their lives on the timeline, so what if Wade or someone asks Mr Paradox what he used to do before he was ‘middle management of timelines’ and what if…. No but what if… he says he was a postman… and that he remembers knowing a ‘otherworldly woman’ but he doesn’t know who she was.
This would be soft confirmation that he was the postman that was Sylvie’s lover (because it was weird that they were never bought up again, and I want to know who it is)
Therefore Sylvie being a Loki variant and Mr Paradox being Mobius adjacent (not only would they have the same job at the TVA but they’d also have in common having the most just some guy job before the TVA) would be a subtle hint to MCU fans that Lokius is real and prepare them for Loki and Mobius becoming canon in Avengers: Secret Wars and-

maybe mobius’ words echoing to loki “let time pass” means he will wait for him and that they just literally need to let time pass until they can be together again.

But what if Mobius has secretly remembered his past this whole time and he's frustrated by the mention of it because he genuinely prefers the TVA to the cookie-cutter suburban wife and kids that's supposed to make him happy? And that's what he meant by "what if it's good?" Like, what if it's "good" but he still prefers the TVA to it because he's a raging homosexual in love with Loki a freak like that and suburban life just doesn't compare to chasing variants through time and space? In this angry screed against Marvel's stupid reinforcement of heteronormativity at every turn, I will -

anyway an ending where everyone is mostly happy and gets what they want except loki and mobius who are visibly utterly miserable without each other??? lmao here's how lokius can still win!

thinking about loki’s 400 year long stare at mobius when he says, “it’s about who”
and then how he looks at sylvie and says, “i can rewrite the story” and how she has her own story - without romance. how she told him to “write his own story” and how he’s now canonically god of stories/storytelling.
thinking about how if they make lokius canon, marvel’s first major canonically queer character will have “rewritten” the cishet centred narrative that a major audience is expecting and just how powerful that would be.
because, as much as i like the bisexual “confirmation” scene - it was very easy to look over if you’re a homophobic viewer or don’t know what bisexuality is. because they never had either of them say the words, “i am bisexual”. that and how they “dealt” with loki’s genderfluidity.
but a major gay couple?? with the healthiest and most intimate relationship i’ve EVER seen marvel write?? that would not be so easy to ignore. especially when you go back and see that it’s been there the whole time. if you knew what to look for. which, is honestly probably the queer vision in a nutshell. because cishets will be blind to anything if they see a man + woman option. they need “undeniable” proof. marvel knows that & it’s why they’ve gotten away with this. why they’re still “safe” for most of their anti-queer audience.
but just imagine, if loki fixes all this, get his friends back, and shows mobius know how he really feels and basically says “this has been the love story the whole time” THAT will be his legacy. in all the glorious i’m a god and i’ve been bad and i’m good and i’m queer and i have inherent worth just like everybody else and i don’t give a fuck loki fashion. and i hope to gods we get to see that.
that’s the story i want to see.
because if they turn around and give us sylki — (and in doing so say here’s a perfect example of a healthy gay relationship but instead we’re gonna give you a toxic genderbent selfcest romance) regardless of the fact we know they are both queer — that is not what a homophobic audience is going to see. they’re going to be satisfied that they didn’t see two men kissing on their screen and call it another win. and marvel would be continuing to encourage the idea that us queer fans are delusional - despite the clearly intentional writing.
not to mention the exhausting, intrinsically homophobic harassment & clowning lokius shippers have endured would actually not be for nothing if lokius were canon and marvel were to decide btw queer people are real and so are their stories and so is their love.
if the show about the genderfluid bisexual god of stories can’t accomplish that after all this character development then. idk.

"For you. For all of us."
I do believe "for you" was originally intended for both of them, or even all of them. But, (spoilers,) by the end of this, my delusions win.
Tumblr media
Although I'm a shameless lokius shipper who can and will talk about them even on a first date or a job interview, I do believe there was much more going on in this scene than just a showcasing of a tragic love story. And that's not saying that wouldn't be meaningful (these types of stories are the only reason I still read fjjffj stop that's actually very sad...)
For me the story is very similar to how Luca's story ended. Hear me out, please, I'm crazy but I might not even be that crazy by the end of this.
Loki's first season and Luca both came out in June of 2021 so I might just connect them subconsciously, but the way Enrico Casarosa (director of Luca) said the movie was open to all interpretations hasn't left my mind since then. That's a huge part of making art, leaving the interpretation up to the viewer and not giving clear instructions. This way you can actually showcase such layers and depth that are much more similar to real life emotions. Because the line is blurry, no matter what. No label is clear enough to say why you love the way you do and how you do it. It's complex and beautiful.
Loki and Mobius, their relationship is beautiful because it has this complexity. I think it's worth mentioning, that what I'm about to say is a subjective interpretation, because this is my idea of love.
They did develop that friendship that articles like to highlight and we love to clown.
Tumblr media
But seriously that platonic friendship is there and it doesn't cancel out the hints of romance at all. That's why I'm also okay with the sylki kiss. Although the first time watching it, for me it felt unnecessary, I can see the significance of it happening. It's an emotional moment, them failing to recognise what they want, their unawareness of the bigger picture, and the comedy of it all, him falling in love with himself. Also... we never really talk about why Sylvie accepts the kiss and her inner conflicts? I need to think a lot more about Sylvie and her wants... but that's not gonna happen in this post, because I'm already going on, anyways... Guess what, Mobius calls this out two times.
Tumblr media
"What a incredible seismic narcissist."
Tumblr media
"It’s a complicated relationship, okay? There’ s a lot unpack when you’re basically in a relationship with yourself. They say opposites attract. No." *does that face, taking a sip of his shake💅*
It's the same of him being the only one who mentions Loki's behaviour changing. (I'm not sure if he's the only one noticing, but he's the only one who makes the choice of calling it out.) And I also love the way he says no to Loki when he asks him to trust him. Loki stays calm, and just says "watch".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is so!!! Loki has been doing this for so long, he looks kind of numb to it – this might have happened many times before and he's done explaining or calming Mobius OR he's okay with Mobius's distrust because he on the other hand trusts himself enough that he doesn't have to feel threatened to lose their bond. He knows their bond is strong enough that he doesn't have to worry when Mobius's trust fades for a moment. And the episode proves me right when in the next moment Loki gets access.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Yes!" Mobius says, grabbing Loki's arm with both his hands, anxious and relieved for a small moment!!!
And that's real trust, friendship and relationship right there.
Comfort, sacrifice and honest moments like these make me feel loved the most. You can't entirely trust someone, you can't expect love to stay the same and you can't expect that the past to just fade away, you can't forgive easily and yet you keep hoping.
Tumblr media
"That's a lot of hoping." Sylvie says.
And Loki is the key and his beautiful, beautiful character arch.
Most of these points are connected to my own experiences of friendship and the working relationships I've seen. Just like in Luca, we make mistakes, sometimes things that are hard to forgive and this is kind of the essence of being human.
Now back to Luca and the way Mobius has to touch Loki like his life depends on it. There are touchy people (and it took me some time to realise I'm one of them.) Enrico says:
“We talked about it and I mean, I think the reason probably we didn’t talk about it as much and, to a certain degree, we’re slightly surprised by the amount of people talking about romance is that we were really focusing on friendship and so pre-romance. But it is a kind of love, right? There’s a lot of hugging and it’s physical and my experience as a straight man certainly wasn’t that. The things we did talk a lot about is what is the metaphor here for being a sea monster, for being different? And some people seem to get mad that I’m not saying yes or no, but I feel like, well, this is a movie about being open to any difference.” (source)
Yes, I do recognise the worries about queerbaiting, and yes, I can only wish that wasn't the issue at Disney. But imagine for a moment, a world where this isn't the case and we didn't have to fight with tooth and nail for representation. In that case this story works perfectly as a friendship and yet it doesn't cancel out the chance of it snowballing into romance.
And then there's the last scene. This post sums it up. What I need to add to this is that most story elements are finished. Loki's Glorious Purpose ending is tragic, angsty and hurtful but it's done, finished. His friendship with both Mobius and Sylvie, tragic angsty and hurtful, still finished. What remains and what drives the audience crazy, and in need for explanation is Mobius being shown in between his lives.
I've seen a lot of people make posts about this alredy. How the show kept telling us that Mobius doesn't want to see his life on the timeline, how Loki knows and brings this up to Sylvie, but it's never further explained, really. Other than the natural conclusion that you just might not want to give up your known reality for something new. The show introduces characters who would, so it's not that everyone would hesitate.
Mobius let go of Ravonna, although it hurt him. Mobius did not remember OB, Mobius got scolded by Sylvie. Hunter B-15 (or Verity, my girl♥︎ i love you so much...) and Casey might be his good friends but we don't really see that apart from that goodbye scene. (Which by the way, hurt like hell...) The only reason left is that Mobius cannot live without Loki properly and the last damn scene proves. this. to. be. the. case!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Let time pass."
I... I love movies man...
(end notes:
– I almost started writing a new paragraph about how this parallels to Spiderverse but let's just forget about that, because that's a box I don't want to open right now, because I will feel ✨dumb✨
– In the Hungarian dubbing he says "For you, Sylvie" and that perfectly sums up this shithole of a country... They did not put Sylvie into the subs though, a win is a win i guess...)

Okay Loki S2 E5 Reaction/ Review Time
SPOILERS AHEAD BEWARE
"Science / Fiction"
OH MY GOD THAT TITLE
I cant believe I was right about all of them being scattered across different time line branches, Loki having to get his friends back and them not having memories of him :O
Also the fact that the fans predicted Casey to be a dangerous / criminal because he was always so gentle in the TVA and then we see him breaking out of freaking Alcatraz?! And the fish references too XD
B15 being a Doctor was so freaking wholesome, she really just wants to help people whetevee she is :D
OB being a Scifi Author and Scientist was just perfect XDDDD
AND WE FINALLY GOT MOBIUS ON A JETSKI THIS IS A WIN FOR THE FANDOM
And again, the fact that the fans immediately predicted that Mobius was a (single) dad in his life, because they spotted a couple toys in front of the house in the mid season trailer :D
(I could literally hear the fanfiction authors melt into a puddle at the potential of Loki x single dad Mobius XD)
And the fact that he isnt just a Dad, no he is a SINGLE FATHER of TWO SONS
The freaking parallel of Mobius' two sons and young Thor & Loki?!
One being a lil mischievous prankster and the other (most likely the older) one who has to keep him out of trouble?! And the fact that he said he loves snakes?!?! That is just straight up a Thor reference?!
No wonder Mobius knows how to deal with people like Loki XD
But as much as I like the parallel of the two sons, I also feel kinda weird about what it could imply for Mobius, like does that mean he is supposed to be a mirror or opposite of Odin? A version of a dad that didnt mess up with their parenting? That this is why Loki feels drawn to Mobius? Is that what we were supposed to conclude from that?
I know we joke about Loki liking older men, and of course Loki has his daddy issues, but if Mobius is an opposite of Odin then what does that mean for Lokius?
Now to some more lore related stuff:
Can I just say that the spaghettification effect is absolutely terrifying?!?! (as stupid as it may sound) Seeing people get spaghettified fills me with just as much dread as the Dusting from the Snap, but it is so much more horrifying because it looks so brutal compared to how "gentle" the Dusting effect is....
Then Loki & Sylvie's talk about being selfish, about their own wants & needs
"Whats wrong with wanting sth?" -  she asks Loki, but in reality, has Loki ever gotten anything he truly desired? (At least L1130 hasnt, man went straight from the Events of Thor 1, to Thanos to the New York attack, he was never able to mend his relationship with Thor or find friends...)
Now... Sylvie, she still frustrates me.... I do get that she wants a life, but you cant just stab or ignore your way out of everything... plus their world is still ending as a matter fact...
It literally took her fav lil branch getting wiped out, to realize that she was wrong, that Loki was right all along, and that was AFTER she had just convinced Loki to give up his quest... because "wanting his friends back" would make him just as "selfish" as her wanting a life... But the difference is, that while Sylvie would chose her life, instead of helping fix everything, ignoring the casualties it brings, Loki would be self sacrificial enough to give up his own needs, which he literally was about to do, until Sylvie got back because she finally wanted to help avoid the impending doom that threatened to destroy them all.
I think we all kinda knew Loki's drive wasnt necessarily saving the TVA, but wanting/ needing his friends back and wanting to keep them save, but Loki actually admitting that he "wants his friends back, that he doesnt want to be alone"
THAT BROKE ME
Especially with the motive of "no one deserves to be alone" but the Lokis only ever having themselves to find comfort, and if they tried to change that, the TVA showed up to prune them, loneliness was literally what drove Classic Loki out of his hiding and into the arms of the TVA.
And Loki saying "Without them (his friends), where do I belong?"
I didnt know it was possible, but that broke me even more... he just wants a place where he is wanted and safe...
Then the time slipping, Loki being able to Control it?! IS THAT HOW THE MCU INTRODUCES LOKI BEING A WORLD WALKER?!
Loki realizing "Its not about the when, where or why. Its about the Who" (god that part was so sweet, right in the FEELS, it was so over for me, my heart cant take much more of this)
And finally Loki chosing to rewrite "The Story"... actually "Play God" thats now full confirmation of Loki God of Stories right?! RIGHT?! I wanna see my boy, God of Stories Loki is one of my Fave Lokis :DDDD

In Any Shape Or Form
Lokius fluff and explicit smut as a birthday treat for @rins-love-wins 😘 Snippet below is clean.
Tumblr media
Loki didn’t look any different from what Mobius could tell. His brown slacks and pale grey shirt looked the same. His tie was immaculate, and his dark brown jacket that he’d suddenly started wearing all looked normal.
The twinkle in Loki’s eyes was the only clue Mobius had. He knew he was up to something. A trickster is forever going to play at some point. It was in his nature, something that Mobius wouldn’t want him to stop doing, but he’d assumed he would have at least figured him out by now.
They had gone back to the archives, Loki sighing as he sat down in his usual spot and grabbed files to open and read.
“How can we be back in this situation again?” he grumbled.
Mobius huffed. “We’re not hunting a Loki this time. We need to think differently.”
At that, Loki’s eyes glimmered. “Yeah, I’ve been thinking that.”
“Oh, yeah? Are you going to share?”
“I think it’s more of a showing occasion.”
Mobius let the file he was holding fall from his hand and looked at Loki with a questioning look. “You can’t tell me?”
“And ruin the surprise!” Loki scoffed.
“But I know it’s a thing, whatever it is. How is that a surprise?”
"Oh, believe me,” Loki purred. “It will still be a surprise.”
Read it all on Ao3.

Post-2x06 Ficlet
I'm still in denial about some of episode 5. My brain keeps going HERE'S HOW LOKIUS CAN STILL WIN, REASON #3234, etc. And also I want my Time Revengers to be friends. (I also may have inadvertently written their version of the shawarma scene.) Spoilers for Loki, minus episode 6 because it hasn't come out yet. (Although, given how episode 5 went and Scattered to the Wind, maybe I should say spoilers for episode 6.)
Shall I Stay? Would It Be a Sin?
It takes innumerable failed attempts, and Loki is exhausted, but at long last, it works. The Throughput Multiplier gets into the launcher, or whatever (OB has a more scientific term for it, but Loki’s going to pass out any second, so he can’t be bothered to remember it), the button doesn’t stick from the radiation, and the aim is true. The rings in the Loom increase in size, the timelines can fit before the Loom overloads, and whoever is wearing the suit this time gets back before their body unspools like spaghetti.
And it’s over. The TVA and the timelines and the multiverse are saved. Sylvie is looking at him like it’s time.
He knows it’s time.
He doesn’t want it to be time.
Mobius suggests pie, and Sylvie looks mutinous, but the six of them trek to the automat after sending Victor back to Chicago. They push the tables together, ignoring the warnings on the walls, and for a few minutes there is nothing but the sound of spoons scraping against ceramic.
But Loki can feel Sylvie’s eyes on him as he sits, shoulder to shoulder with Mobius, and he knows it’s time to broach the topic.
“I have to tell you all something,” he says softly, setting down his spoon and looking around at them all. Four more pairs of eyes swivel to him, and he takes a second to look at each of them, these people he’s come to care about. His friends. His chest aches and the pain nearly takes his breath away. He speaks anyway.
He tells them how they did not actually succeed on their first attempt, and these agents of a time-traveling institution don’t look particularly surprised by this, beyond their initial shock. It’s not the first time he’s told them something they don’t have memories of, after all. He tells them of the disastrous first attempt that scattered them across the timeline, back to where they were from. He doesn’t go into detail about their various lives; he will get to that later, when Sylvie restores their memories. He tells them how he tried to bring them all together to restore the TVA and save the multiverse, how ultimately it was not enough, how in the final seconds of their dissolving reality he finally learned to control the time-slipping. He explains his return to just before their first attempt, and trying over and over and over to get it right.
“Okay. Wow, that’s a lot,” OB says, looking around at the others.
“So… now what?” Casey asks.
Now I lose you again. Loki takes a steadying breath. “Now, if Sylvie is able to help, we’ll restore your memories and you can go back to your lives.”
Sylvie nods to the others, then glances at Loki, the look in her eyes changing to sympathy and encouragement.
There’s a long pause as the agents digest this information.
“Hold on, don’t we get a say in this?” Casey says. OB nods in agreement.
“You didn’t get a choice last time. He Who Remains abducted you from your life.” Loki says. But, not for the first time, he recalls finding Casey on the beach, escaping a high-security prison, on the brink of becoming a fugitive. His eyes find Sylvie at the thought. A fugitive, like his other. He wonders if she would still believe it is right for everyone to go back to their timelines if she knew, but it’s too late now; that argument is long over.
“But it sounds like we aren’t getting a choice this time, either,” OB says. “What about our lives here?”
This isn’t how he expected it to go. After his conversation with Sylvie in the bar in Broxton, he’d been convinced he was doing what his friends wanted. Yet here they were, making the same arguments he had that night. He looks to Sylvie for help.
“This isn’t a life, OB. This is control. You’ve been controlled for who knows how long. You can be happy now.” Sylvie says.
“You can write your own story.” Loki adds.
“I am happy now,” OB says quietly, glancing very quickly at Casey before staring down at their pie.
“And what do you want, Loki?” Mobius says softly at his side, ripping his heart out with six carefully spoken words. He forces himself to turn and make eye-contact with Mobius, with the one it’s going to hurt the most to lose.
“It’s not about what I want,” Loki replies, just as softly. “What I want doesn’t matter.”
Mobius holds his gaze for a long moment, and Loki’s heart aches at the sadness he sees in the agent’s eyes.
“Do you really think you deserve to be alone?” Mobius murmurs finally, and Loki is launched back to before the Loom became unstable, before the Citadel and He Who Remains and being pruned, before Mobius was pruned. He remembers the last time the agent asked him that, in a time loop of Sif calling him a conniving, craven, pathetic worm.
“You will be alone forever, because you deserve it.”
Loki blinks, opens his mouth and closes it a few times. He can’t. He can’t do this, not if Mobius is going to break his heart and put it back together and break it again without meaning to in the span of a breath.
“Mobius. Please don’t do this to me.” Loki whispers, his voice barely a breath. He hopes the others cannot hear, but he knows that Mobius can.
Mobius opens his mouth to respond, but B-15 finally speaks up. “Let’s compromise, Sylvie,” she says calmly, somehow easily picking up that this is Sylvie’s idea in Loki’s mouth. “You and Loki can restore their memories, and we can all make our decision with both eyes open. Stay at the TVA, or return to our former lives.”
“Why not yours?” OB asks.
“Sylvie has already given them to me,” B-15 says. “Before the timeline fractured, actually.”
“And?” Casey prompts.
“I’m staying.” She says with confidence. Loki stares at her, and Sylvie whirls to face her.
“Why? You told me you thought you looked happy!” Sylvie demands.
“I did. I was a pediatrician. I did good work, I made kids feel better. But I lived in New York.” B-15 says, and Loki’s mind moves faster than her story. He knows what’s coming before she says it. “My practice was destroyed in 2012.”
“B-15, I–” The remorse and grief that strikes him like a knife cuts off his voice for a moment, and leaves him at a loss for words. He swallows. “I’m sorry. I can’t begin to tell you how sorry–”
“Loki, save it,” she says, but her voice is kind and calm. “If I knew you for a shorter amount of time, or I had not had as much time to process, I might be angry. If I could recall if there were any casualties, I might feel differently. But I’ve seen the recording of your life, and I know what brought you to my city and caused that Chitauri warrior to crash into my building.”
Memories of the bowels of a ship and a Mad Titan and his children taking Loki apart piece by piece with knives and magic and lies, putting him back together in the image of a follower of Thanos and a shell of his former self. He locks the thoughts away again, in that box that will one day need to open, but not today.
“And anyway,” B-15 continues, thoughtfully, “I got my revenge, in a way. I arrested you after you stole the tesseract.”
Loki smiles involuntarily. “You hit me in slow motion.”
B-15 smiles back. “So we’re even. Sort of.” She turns to Casey, who sits beside her. “Your turn.”
Sylvie gets up. She still looks surprised that anyone wants to stay here. Casey looks at her, eyes a little wide with fear.
“You can look, and then you can make a decision,” B-15 reminds him. He glances at OB, then back to Sylvie and nods.
Sylvie places her hands on the side of his head, and Loki watches the magic dance between her fingers, flow into Casey’s temples. After a moment, she pulls away and Casey opens his eyes. Loki catches a small frown on Sylvie’s face.
“I…I escaped prison.” Casey says. “I was about to be a fugitive. I don’t want to be on the run for the rest of my life. That sounds hard. And lonely.”
Loki feels a little sympathetically embarrassed when everybody turns from Casey to look at Sylvie.
Sylvie swallows, uncomfortable. “It isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” she says, voice somewhat choked.
“I don’t want to go back,” Casey says, with another glance at OB.
Sylvie moves to OB, and it occurs to Loki that Casey did not actually choose to stay at the TVA with his answer.
Sylvie repeats the spell, and when OB opens their eyes, they shake their head almost immediately. They meet Casey’s eyes before looking around the table, and Loki starts to wonder if something might be going on between these two.
“This is my life,” they say with conviction. “On the timeline, I’m alone, I’m unemployed, no one appreciates what I most enjoy doing. I don’t need anyone to appreciate it,” they add, flushing. “But on the timeline if no one appreciates it, I cannot support myself. Here, I have a purpose.”
A why, Loki thinks.
“And I’m happy.”
Loki thinks of fixing Mobius’s tie, of ruining his salad to illustrate a point. “You’re gonna take my job if I’m not careful.” “Come on, you’re the God of Mischief.”
“And I’m not alone.” Loki almost misses the fond smile OB gives Casey, because a hand grasps his shoulder and his stomach bottoms out. He turns to Mobius, and for a moment is lost in the eyes of this man who is so important to him, he scarcely has the words to explain it.
It’s firm hands grasping his, the most solid and comforting thing he’d felt since he’d been kicked through that Time Door and began time-slipping. It’s a nervous expression in Pompeii as Loki wreaked havoc on the timeline that turned to irritation, and then turned to affection. It’s a hug on a windswept moor at the end of time before everything went to shit. It’s that first glance when Loki returned from the past, catching the recognition in Mobius’s eyes, the way Loki’s heart sped up in response.
He’d tried to form the words before, as he watched Mobius walk through that Time Door in the void, before Loki time-slipped and almost never saw him again, as they watched the Loom explode the first time. He never had a chance.
His heart is in his throat as, distantly, he hears OB say, “I’m staying.”
That’s three of his friends, far more than he’d expected, far more than perhaps he deserves.
But now it’s Mobius’s turn, his first friend, his dearest, the one he expects will leave, the one who will be the hardest to let go.
“Okay, Mobius,” Sylvie says, though Loki still holds Mobius’s gaze.
“Let Loki do it,” Mobius says.
“I don’t know how.” Loki replies, unable to raise his voice above a whisper.
“Yes, you do,” Mobius says, voice as steady and calm as it always is, tone confident and trusting. Then, he drops his voice to the same volume as Loki’s, though his tone remains the same. “You can do anything.”
You saw something in me that I hadn’t seen in myself. He’s doing it again.
Loki turns to him fully, and Mobius leans forward. Loki places his fingertips to the sides of Mobius’s head and shuts his eyes, recalling Sylvie’s description of the magic. And then he presses into Mobius’s mind and finds the memories the TVA had long locked away from him. He pulls them forward, and they watch them unfold together.
What? This isn’t right. But it has to be; they are the memories that were trapped in Mobius’s mind.
The memories that come forth are not what Loki passed through when he time-slipped along the timeline. How is that possible? Everyone else’s lives were as they remembered. Yet somehow Mobius fell into another place in time, a place that was not his.
His true life along the timeline is far more lonely. He seems happy enough, has friends, dates occasionally, and is satisfied with his job. But he does not have children, never divorced or widowed or even married.
As the memories fade and the magic dissipates, Loki opens his eyes to see Mobius looking at him. He is too overwhelmed by what he has seen– and not seen– to feel anything under Mobius’s stare.
“That’s not how it happened,” Loki says before Mobius can speak. “You… you had children. I saw them.” He looks to Sylvie for help.
“We don’t create memories,” she reminds him. “Whatever you saw in his head is his true past.”
“But he had sons.” He looks back to Mobius. “You had two sons. You were raising them by yourself. You were reluctant to leave them.” Two boys couldn’t just disappear from existence. Not without being pruned. Could they?
Mobius looks thoughtful for a moment. “Maybe if you showed me your memories, we could figure out what happened.”
Loki nods, moving his hands back to Mobius’s temples. He shows Mobius the children, Kevin and Sean. He recalls their blond hair, the matches and burnt action figure and Kevin claiming he stole the matches. He remembers Mobius bribing the other boy, Sean, with a puppy, remembers Sean insisting on a snake. He’s startled out of the memories by Mobius, laughing.
“Why are you laughing?” Loki asks. He looks at Mobius, and realizes he’s red.
“You didn’t notice?” He says. “Loki, they’re light-haired. They look like me, but… one of them is mischievous and plays with dangerous things, and the other likes snakes.”
Suddenly, B-15 and Sylvie start laughing, too. Loki glances at them, startled, and realizes OB and Casey are wearing surprised smiles.
“What?” Loki asks them. “I don’t understand.”
“Mobius’s children are carbon copies of their parents,” B-15 explains. “They are identical to one parent in appearance, and one in personality.”
“It’s a classic trope in animated children’s movies,” OB adds. “Saves time for the artists, even if it’s not exactly realistic.”
Sylvie crosses her arms. “Come on, Loki.” She encourages. “Use that mischievous brain of yours.”
Oh. Oh, Norns. It strikes Loki like a flash of his brother’s lightning. He whips back around to stare at Mobius, who has somehow turned even redder as their friends laugh around them.
“You made them up.” Loki accuses. Mobius inclines his head. “How is that possible? How did they become real?”
“I don’t know,” Mobius says.
“Are they still real?”
“I don’t know,” he says again. “But you saved the multiverse, so if they are, I’m sure that me is back with them.”
“Oh my God, Loki, you’re missing the point!” OB shouts gleefully.
“I’m not, I’m waiting for you lot to go away,” Loki snaps, but he must look as dazed as he feels when he turns to look at them all, because they all laugh again. A bubbly joy rolls up in his chest at the sound, and he can’t find it in him to be angry or annoyed with these meddlers. His friends are alive, and they’re all staying here with him (except perhaps Sylvie, but he knows where to find her, and Mobius hasn’t given his answer yet, but it’s becoming increasingly obvious what they all think his answer will be). He has friends.
“Aw, come on, we’ve been waiting for this forever!” Casey teases. Loki turns to snarl at him, but Mobius chooses that moment to put his hand on Loki’s leg, and every thought in Loki’s mind vanishes.
“Give them a moment, there will be plenty of time to tease them later,” B-15 says reasonably, standing up. Casey grumbles, but he and OB follow her.
Sylvie rolls her eyes at Loki and Mobius. “Like a couple of children with their first crush, I swear,” she mutters, which is just not fair. Loki didn’t manifest a fantasy about his and Mobius's imaginary children somehow strong enough to supersede his real past.
When the door shuts behind her, Loki turns back to Mobius, who is still watching him.
“What do you want, Loki?” he asks, an echo of his earlier question. His eyes are gentle as he gazes at Loki, and Loki feels every wall he built around his heart from the moment he bore witness to Mobius's (imagined) past to protect himself against this point, crumble to dust.
“I want you to stay.” Loki whispers, hearing his voice shake. “I don’t want to have to say good-bye to you.”
Mobius smiles. He reaches out, cradles Loki’s face in his hands, and kisses him. Loki presses closer, clutching the lapels of Mobius’s jacket, and kisses back.
“I love you,” Loki whispers, kissing Mobius again and again.
“I love you, too,” Mobius responds. “I’m sorry that there was ever any moment, or ever a version of me, that made you think I wasn’t going to stay. That made you think I didn’t love you.”

I guess every episode of Loki is fodder for debating who the title character ought to smash with, but "Breaking Brad" feels like a textbook case, so let's talk about it...
I've been anticipating this episode for the big reunion of Loki and Sylvie, and it didn't disappoint. There's just a ton of great tension when Loki walks up to the counter and clearly has no idea what to say or where to begin. He's been worried sick about her since they last parted ways, and now that he's found her he doesn't know how to make things right with her, and she's not going to make it easy for him. Whatever Sylvie's feelings are for Loki, she's going to keep them closely guarded, to avoid getting hurt again, even if it dooms all of existence. And yet...she follows him through the Time Door. But then...she refuses to stay. It's going to be like this for a while, if not the whole season.
At the same time, this episode is chock-full of good scenes between Loki and Mobius. They support each other, and they open up to one another. (Mobius is clearly still hiding something, but there's no doubt they'll talk it over later.) Everybody can see Loki has a weakness for Sylvie, but only Mobius understands it, and sticks up for his buddy. Loki is crushed as Sylvie walks out before he can finish saying "it's harder to stay"...but he stays, and gives Mobius a reassuring pat on the shoulder. They make a great team, and their bond just gets stronger with each episode.
This more or less reflects the major talking points in the Sylki vs. Lokius ship war. A recurring theme I see from the Lokius camp is that Loki simply has better chemistry with Mobius than Sylvie, but that depends on what sort of chemistry you prefer. Loki and Mobius certainly have an easier time chilling together in the break room, or coming up with a cool plan, but that's partly because Loki isn't desperately preoccupied with figuring out if Mobius is in love with him. Whereas Loki and Sylvie's chemistry is under intense pressure because both of them strongly feel things for one another they refuse to talk about. You could get a good romance out of either scenario, but for better or worse the Loki/Sylvie mutual pining/denial of feelings story is already happening, and the Loki/Mobius slow burn/feelings realization story still exists only in potentia.
More and more I get the feeling the show is going to force Loki to choose between Mobius and Sylvie. Not choose which one to fuck, necessarily. But if Loki really wants to save the TVA and prop them up against He Who Remains, he's probably going to have to keep passing up opportunities to be with Sylvie, and keep walking back to Mobius. But if it the endgame was Lokius, there wouldn't be much tension in that choice--Loki just lets Sylvie bum around the McDonald's parking lot, end of story. The plot complication for the rest of the season is how he can help the TVA and win Sylvie back. And I really don't get the feeling he's going to get there by realizing he's really been in love with Mobius all along.

"Loki, could you come to the kitchen please?"
Loki soon joined Mobius who had a spoon in his hand and asked, "I need your opinion. Can you taste this, please?"
Mobius filled the spoon with whatever he was preparing, brought it to Loki's lips while holding his hand under his chin so nothing would fall out.
Loki closed his eyes and then after a moment's thought gave his opinion, "It's delicious, but maybe it lacks a little cinnamon."
Mobius nodded, "Ah good! I felt something was missing, but I couldn't put my finger on it."
He stood up on his tiptoes, reaching for the cinnamon that was a little high on the shelf.
But Loki, having sneaked up behind him, was quicker and picked up the small container and placed it on the counter before whispering in Mobius' ear, "How can I help you more?"
The slight movement of the hips that accompanied his words left Mobius in no doubt as to what kind of help he was offering.
He breathed, "Loki..."
Mobius' tone was a mixture of annoyance and amusement.
Loki replied with an innocent look, "What?"
Mobius said nothing and continued to prepare the dough.
Loki wrapped his arms around him and purred in his ear, "You know you don't have to bake to show me that you're sweet." Then he tried to kiss Mobius on the neck, but Mobius pushed him away with a laugh, "Not until I'm done!"
But Loki was stubborn and continued to interfere with the preparations until Mobius had enough and banished him from the kitchen.
Loki sighed ostentatiously and Mobius' reply was direct, "And your big sighs won't change anything, it's your fault, if you're not able to behave!"
Twenty minutes later Mobius came out of the kitchen, "That's it, I'm done, I just need to let the dough rest for two hours-"
He didn't have time to finish his sentence when Loki threw himself on him and captured his mouth in a passionate kiss to which Mobius responded just as passionately.
When they separated to catch their breath, Mobius could not help but let out a breathless laugh.
"What?" asked Loki with a puzzled look.
"Were you that impatient?"
Loki shrugged, "When it comes to you, I always am."
Then his expression turned sheepish, "I overreacted again, didn't I?"
Mobius shook his head, "Not at all. It's rather nice to be the object of such passion."
He pecked Loki's nose.
Loki continued more seriously, "I gave you one hundred and one reasons to walk away, yet you never did. Why?"
Mobius smiled softly, "It seems to me that I also gave you reasons to walk away, but in the end you stayed. So I'll ask you the same question. Why?"
Loki answered immediately and bluntly, "Because I love you."
Mobius pushed a strand of hair back behind the god's ear and replied softly, "Well you have your answer. Because I love you. It's really that simple."
He gently pressed his lips to Loki's.
There was nothing else to say.
Because they loved each other.
It was really that simple.
