I drew my Changeling oc!

Their name is Kodin <3

Myyy boyyyyy.

He is a very handsome boy.

Their Human form isn’t that special and I was a bit to tired to actually put affort in it but I was also too motivated to not draw it so this is all you get for now. I like his Troll form better-

(And yes I tried to spell his name in the troll language and I hope it's right because it's from a canon book I bought so it should be wrong buuut idc XD)

Some Infos about him:

• He is obviously a changeling and he is about 465 years as a Troll and as a human he would be like 19 years. He still is basically a child. (But pls don’t ask me how their age actually works bc idk )

• He is gay and uses mostly he/they pronouns but he dosen't really care about this. They also had a bf but he sadly died about 100 years ago.

• He wears piercings and also has a tattoo on his back as a Human wich goes over to his troll form because of magic but it looks like his white markings. The small cross on his ear was actually a gift from his dead bf and he ALWAYS wears it. He also wears a small mini braid that was matching with his bf.

• He is a very good sword/dagger fighter and also loves to use a bow. He is more of a stealth and distant fighter but he also has good skill if it comes to 1v1 due to the fact that he is very aggressiv and fast. He isn’t really good with big groups but he would never run away from a fight... unless he is forced to.

• He isn’t particular scared of the dead although he respects it. He will die for what his morals and mind stand for instead of trying to save his life by fake loyalty for Gunmar/Bular or Morgana what almost even cost his head. He is a open traitor since the minute Strickler got him out of the darklands.

• He says straight what he thinks and that's mostly insulting or sarcastic because he is really harsh on it and dosen't fear to speak about hus doubts or mistrust in plans or even people. If someone is closer to him he also showes his softer side wich is very playful and somewhat shy but it still won’t save you from his general jokes and honestie.

• He is very animalistic and lets his Troll form very often get the better of him. He loves to sit like a cat or walk on 4 legs If he runs away or hides from something. His Tail and ears mostly show his Emotionens. (ears go up if happy or alarmed, or go down if scared, and on... ) But he still loves to wear human clothes (mostly at home) because they are more comfortable for him. But he wears his mission equipment (the one in the drawing) everytime he is out for safety.

• He is good at stragety and if things gets serious he is the first person to be 100% there for action and making a plan. Even if most people don’t take him serious because he loves to sit on windows or tables or the lean of the couch which doesn't look very professional but that's what he gets most comfortable with.

• He dosen't bond easily with new people since his one and only love died in his arms and because of his parents abandoning him due to the fact that he is impure. That means he gets very attached and protective over the people he eventually bonds with in any way. Even if he questions them he would still follow them because of the fear of being alone.

• He has no socialskills. He mostly makes jokes about his trauma and makes fun of people no matter if he likes them or not. He curses a lot and even more if he is stressed and that happens often if there are more than 4 people in a room. Beside that he is very chill and dosen't get angry very easily if you don’t provoke him. And he can’t really comfort people but he still tries and fails.

• He is scared water. Everything that goes beyond his knees gives him panick attacks. He once almost drowned as a whelp if it wasn’t for Strickler. Strickler gave him a dagger to protect himself after that and he always has it in his side, quite literally it's on his right leg. He also has a small crystal talisman a band around his dagger that is matching with Stricklers. (Fun fact: His parents tried to drown him after they found out that he is a changeling.)

His place if he was in the canon timeline:

Context.

To clear that off, he is very loyal to Strickler due to the fact that Strickler looked after him in the darklands and ofc the first time he got into the human world and even until the battle against Morgana. Kodin sees him as some sort of father figure wich leads him to not like Jim and Barbara because he is scared of being replaced since Strickler practically is his only real family (in his eyes ofc). He questions some of Strickler very immorally actions but he still trusts and follows him, maybe even to death. (He also mostly chills in stricklers apartment because he actually does not have a home for himself)

He is also in a state where Angor rot accepts him but they kinda have a hate friendship over the course of the Story because they have some missions together and Kodin actually tries to be nice but fails because he literally has no socialskills. Kodin does not like nore trusts Angor but he still eventually got over it until Angor actually tried to kill Strickler-

Jim and the rest mostly saw him as troll near by in some missions or fights like with getting the stones. But they finally really meet him before the battle of Morgana. His Human form works at the Café with Douxie and they both get really good friends. And he almost acts like Jim if it comes to Stricklake beside the fact that he tries to be far more supporting. If Strickler is happy with her then he will tolerate it.

The actual timeline but short.

So in the first half of season 1 he isn’t very present. He just lives his life. Sometimes he spys or goes on mission for Strickler but it isn’t that special. He reports to Strickler like NotEnrique does. He basically already betrayed Gunmar and the rest of the Gumm-Gumms but Strickler covered it up what leads to Kodin thinking that they are sort of a family now since he never really had someone to care about him. He was in the battle of the Killer bridge but he mostly just tried to help Strickler in the fight and gets him out after the bridge fell onto him.

In the second half, when Strickler gets Angor rot, he is very often send on missions and sometimes even with Angor to keep an eye on him because he is in general very misstrusting towards the acient assassin. (As a side note: Kodin mostly goes with Angor on the missions without Strickler's knowledge and just tells Angor that it was planned...even tho it wasn't. He gets a very serious dad talk after Strickler found out... like a month later) He is in most of their meetings like the ones with Otto and he also was there when they freed Angor rot, he should wait outside but he sneaked in. He hates the binding spell but that dosen't change the fact that he mocks Strickler about it very often wich sometimes sort of makes a playful vibe between them. He eventually almost gets killed because Angor decided to first look at Strickler house first and then go to the place where Strickler actually is (because why should Angor know where he is. Kodin tells him on accident since he at first didn’t knew that Strickler lost control). He fights for a few minutes until Angor had enough and just knocked him out. He didn’t kills him because of the fact that they actually bonded a bit.

Season 2 he mostly just exists, workes at the Café and eventually reunited with Strickler and Nomura who hates him. He hates her too. And yes they just do their thing until season 3.

Season 3 is funny to me because I definitely imagine him just sitting on the kitchen counter when Jim comes home and Jim is like "who tf are you?" and he is like "just a random dude who works for a stupid ass changeling guy that almost killed your mom" and Strickler would just give him the death stare. But yes he would probably help with some missions including the bad coffee ep and the general training for Jim. He could and probably would train Jim the dirty sneak tactics and how to fight on distance. He fights in the battle of Morgana and stays in Arcadia because of Strickler and I hope that Barb would like him too, he would help them with the Babys. He likes Barbara and also Jim by now (even tho he is still a bit scared) and he just wants parents that care for him...

3 below goes on normal, he gets friends with Toby and also helps in the fight and in Wizard he was with Douxie in the Café but he got send home.

For the not canon movie he mostly does what the others do. He stays with Strickler for the Ice titan mission and gets absolutley destroyed by Stricklers death. He stayed with Barbara in the castle until the new timeline starts. (I could also imagine him grabbing something to get down on the ice and search for any life sign of Strickler until he eventually dies because of the immense cold wich would be the death he is most scared of, cold and alone.)

Anyways.

Challenging destiny is canon.

Sally Face Headcanons!!!

⚠️Sorry if you don't agree with this it's just my opinion and what I think! I've been obsessed with this fandom recently and I wanted to write this down bc I was bored. DISCLAIMER!! I am adding some nsfw in this because yes. I will put it at the end lol. I'm only gonna be doing Sal Fisher in this post but I might be doing other characters. Also I'm sorry if the Grammer is bad I'm just really tired and lazy rn lol also this is way out of order but idfc. And I will most likely update this so don't expect this to be done lol (thanks to @givemethesleep)⚠️

Background (some of this is searched off Google lol): As a small kid Sal loved dogs! But that would quickly change.. while Sal was at a picnic with his mom (Diane) someone tried killing him.. it was a part of a group of murderers across the country, killing children to protect the longevity of their goals. (The endless one) Kenneth Phelps (intrestingly Travis's dad) killed Diane. He was the leader of the 'Devourers of God' in Nockfell. one of the cultists who was wearing a dog mask tried to kill Sal by using a shotgun. It was unsuccessful though because Sals mom managed to shield him from the gunshot, dying in the process, but the pellets that pierced through her skin still took out half of Sals face. He went to physical therapy for 3-4 years because of that. It was hard keeping his own spit in his face, let alone food or water. He got really insecure about the way he looked or ate so he got a prosthetic mask. His first one fully pink because his mom's favorite color was pink before she died. When the mask broke by his so called 'friends' he got a new one. He still wanted some pink to be included so he attached a pink piece that broke off his old one.

Face details: most of his face looked like it was burnt but it was really just some massive scar that he got from the wound. His right eye was missing so he had a fake eye to cover it up. His nose was deformed and he was missing a bit of his cheek on the right side of his face, creating a dent in his face. He was also missing a little bit of his mouth, on the same side. It showed a bit more of his jaw than normal.

Age: 15-22 (28 at death) (5 when his mom died)

Birthday: December 20tb, 2976

Ethnicity: caucasian with some distant northern asian

Death (ngl I cried when I found out): he died at 6:33pm, 2004. Cause of death is Electrocution

Personality: he was a pretty laid back guy. He is kinda shy when you first meet him but he warms up to you pretty fast. He has grown to have a phobia of dogs so he will most likely dislike going to other people's houses.

Sexuality: bisexual 💜💙💓 (fem lean)

Gender: (biological) boy (what he goes by) demiboy or gender fluid

Pronouns: mostly he/him/himself but he doesn't really care

Hello Tumblr,

It's been a while...

I'm much older now and boy, have both of us changed.

I'm surprised you didn't get rid of the younger version of me, and I didn't think it would be fair for me to continue on those accounts. So here I am, with a new one for current and maybe future me.

A lot has changed since I last visited you. I mean, a whole pandemic came and went, and I live in a new state now....well, it's the second new one, and hopefully the last. I love it here.

I still love horror movies and still obsessed with gore movies. I still love to read, but I don't have as much time to do that now. And I now use a kindle, something old me used to be against, but man, it's so much easier to read with now that I have a baby.

Oh yeah, I'm a mom now. I'm still a bit new, but it's come so easy to me. I know, younger me would be livid. I used to not want kids, and no, it wasn't on accid either. 10 years later, I realized I love this man so much I didn't know what else to do with that excess love.

Ah, you got me there, I'm married too. About to have our 6 year wedding anniversary. I don't know if you remember that boy I met shortly before I stopped visiting you? Yep, he became permanent. We'll be celebrating our first decade together in December. Isn't that crazy?

My weird? Well, I don't have it right now...I'm hoping I get it back but I don't know. Having a baby really changed my style and nothing I wore before fits now. I've only been a mom for a couple of months.

I also just don't know how to incorporate my weird with my job. I hate feeling like I dress like every other realtor, but my body is just changing too fast for me to keep up with my weird..maybe one day, I'll get the hang of it again. My piercings aren't going anywhere.

I got more piercings now since we last saw each other. I no longer have my Medusa, but I have some other ones, plus some tattoos too.

Oh, and I'm sober, too. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I decided on this. While pregnant, I realized how much clear headed I felt. After I gave birth, I had a couple of drinks here and there, but the way it made me feel, I immediately noticed the changes it caused me.

I'm proud of myself for it though.

There's still a lot I'm working on myself for. But can I tell you my favorite change that's happened to me since we last met?

It's crazy because younger me wouldn't have thought this would ever happen.

I'm very happy really.

I have my reasons to live. I have someone to live for. I have someone to love and care for and not just because it's an obligation, but because I chose to.

I'm happy where my life is right now, and I'm happy with my marriage.

Anyway, it's good to see you Tumblr. I'll hang around a little more and maybe try and write a bit again. I still like writing when I can.

Translator’s note: I think I have said this before when translating his Bloody Bouquet CD, but Yuma gives the best pep talks. Out of all the DL characters, he really seems the most down-to-earth and reasonable when it comes to both accepting and expressing his emotions. All of the others are conflicted or too stubborn to admit how they truly feel, but Yuma has very little filters and that’s honestly what I appreciate about him. It makes for such a nice change of pace.

Ruki told ya as well, no? We’re brothers. While we may have different roles to fulfill in the family, there’s no hierarchy between us.

Azusa: ...

Yuma: Try and remember the time at the orphanage. Bet ya can’t forget ‘bout it even if ya wanted to? All of us received the same shit treatment. We were all equally punched and hurt.

Azusa: But...!

Yuma: No but’s or however’s! You’re the only one of us who still clings to the concept of a hierarchy...! Your current life is completely different from the one you led back when living at the wanderers’ camp! ...So gettin’ jealous...or wantin’ to hog the Sow all for yerself...is totally valid.

Azusa: ...! Yuma...?

Yuma: But ya know, she’s the one thing I can’t just hand over to ya. Desire isn’t somethin’ ya can control through reason.

Azusa: Desire...?

Yuma: It’s the same as wantin’ to eat. Ya can’t suppress it.

Yuma: Is that truly so? ...Well, I’m not ya, so I can’t tell for sure whether ya felt it as strong or not, but I guess people just differ? ーー Say...

Yuma suddenly pulls you close.

Yuma: Yeah. Ya think way too much ‘bout stuff like ‘bein’ useful’ or ‘the reason behind yer existence’...In reality, there’s nothin’ wrong with ya at all. It’s normal to exist.

Ruki: Ruki and...Kou too? Do they feel the same way?

Yuma: ...Ya better not say that in their faces. You’re gonna get smacked on the head. You’re crazy ‘cause ya keep on restrainin’ yerself. Notice that already. Right here...There’s nobody who would get a kick out of hurtin’ ya...

Azusa: ...T-Then...This pain in my chest can...just stay the way it is...?

Yuma: Ya like pain, don’t ya? Just accept it. ...Besides, if it’s makin’ ya uncomfortable, then try and do somethin’ ‘bout it.

don’t worry, Seungcheol isn’t even really a bad boy

he’s really just… misunderstood?

actually that’s not a good word for it

it’s in the sense that his reputation makes him to be seen as a bad boy

it’s probably because of the leather jacket

and the motorcycle

and the piercings (mainly the ears)

and the tattoos

it also doesn’t help either that he’s keeps a small circle of friends

there’s nothing wrong with rolling with a smaller group

it just means a lot of people don’t actually know him and that causes more rumors about his personality

he hangs around Wonwoo and Minghao the most

Wonwoo is known to be handsome, but is also super cold to strangers

(more of a shy thing than a rude thing—a whole different story)

on the other hand, Minghao is one of those people who are brutally honest

(which makes him seem like an inconsiderate asshole)

and because people tend to lump people together

they just assume that Seungcheol is the same as those two are: cold and rude

in reality, he’s just a bit more reserved than others

makes people earn his trust, but some people found that unreasonable apparently

people are just so judgmental sometimes, especially in a small town where everyone wanted know everything about everyone

so, for college, Seungcheol picked out a city to study

because the larger populations lets him blend in with the others

tbh, let’s be real…. he def isn’t the only one who’s wearing all black on a college campus lmao

Wonwoo at some point: “look, we’re twinning”

he chose to study business

basic but it’s simple

it ensures that he’s going to have a stable job and by the of the day that’s all that matters to him

also the business suit he has covers everything nicely, so it isn’t like he has visible face tattoos or piercings

not that it’s bad, but….. capitalism, you know? homeboy would like money

so, while his hometown called him a bad influence on other kids

the college sees him as another hottie in the leather jacket

he’s probably would’ve been the campus heartthrob—had it not been for the fact that he went to same school as Wonwoo, Mingyu or that new freshie who calls himself Vernon

there was one time in his theology class that he took off his leather jacket right?

the arm muscles flexing and the tattoo sleeve……….. it’s safe to say everyone took a double take during class that day

as for his academic marks……….

I mean, yeah, he doesn’t have the top grades to make it on a dean’s list or anything, but

he’s got academic scholarships and that’s enough tbh

he might not be a genius prodigy like Jihoon, but he isn’t stupid

Jeonghan: “wait, you’re not cheating off of him?”

Seungcheol: “no, Jeonghan…………. are you?”

Jeonghan: “yeah, no, I thought it was like a thing that we all agreed to”

Seungcheol: “Jeonghan, no”

Jeonghan: “Jeonghan, yes”

so he’s not like a major try-hard like all those A+ obsessive people from high school

but he does make the effort

he’s just trying to live a nice, quiet life on campus to graduate—just like everyone else here

although

there is this habit of his that he’s been trying to break: being late to class

his attendance record isn’t great……….

like he’ll be there….. but he’ll be there like five to ten minutes late so it doesn’t really matter but

it’s like a personal pet peeve about himself

granted, it doesn’t matter when most professors don’t even take attendance

but it’s also because he works really late hours at a nearby convenience shop on campus

so………. the end result is tardiness

and he’s trying to work on it

which is also how he meets you

you see, Seungcheol met you in a………… unique situation

so, Seungcheol has found it easier to go around in his motorcycle, especially in a city

and especially on a college campus

and it’s like 20x faster than walking

it’s also good for when he’s late for his morning classes because he can easily make it to the other side in campus in like 2 minutes vs the original 10 minutes

so on a bright Tuesday morning

after he overslept his alarm (once again)

he quickly got dressed and hopped on his motorcycle to get to the other side of campus for class

….. only for him to quickly stop after hearing your scream

he didn’t necessarily hit you per say but it didn’t mean you managed to pass by untouched

you were rushing off to class too

on all days to be late………. it just had to be the day you had a midterm that’s 30% of your final grade

so you were rushing through

unable to see the motorcycle that was heading your direction

which is your fault but that’s also his fault for not seeing you until you screamed when he nearly hit you, running over a toe or two

he immediately stopped, running over to you

Seungcheol: “oh my God, are you alright?”

You: hair messed up, in pain, and survived the heart attack he gave you

You: “sure”

Seungcheol: “are you sure? I can take you to the hospital or—”

You: no, no, I am already as late as is and, and, and…….”

you trail off, remembering the motorcycle that laid a couple of feet away

You: “instead of the hospital, how about a ride instead? I cannot miss this midterm”

Seungcheol was taken aback from your commitment and strange request, but complied nevertheless

Seungcheol: “are you sure?”

You: “absolutely, hustle man, hustle—we gotta go”

Seungcheol scrambles, starting up the motorcycle and handing you a helmet

which you gladly grab and attach yourself behind him with your arms on his waist

he’s a bit flustered from your proximity

what if he was a murderer and you just hopped onto his bike?

I mean, he obviously isn’t but still

You: “sir, chop-chop, pls move, my ass needs to get to McGregor”

Seungcheol: “yes, right”

it takes less than a minute to get there, especially since there weren’t many others on the pathways

you hastily get off his motorcycle, tossing his helmet back at him and running off

You: “thank you!!!!”

Seungcheol: “you’re welcome?”

he watches as you run into the building, with nothing more on your mind than your midterm

how odd

he shakes his head, clearing his head of you before going to park his motorcycle and locking it—he’s got his own problems to worry about right now

(he re-told the story to a couple of his friends, in which Jihoon said: “watch yourself, you could get a lawsuit coming one of these days” and Seungcheol just rolled his eyes)

it’s about two weeks before he sees you again

so fun fact, his college requires community involvement/field assignment

and he chose to be in the big brother program

so he’s a big brother to this adorable 6 year old girl named Rose

he filled his requirement long ago, but he highkey loved it so he remained as a big brother to Rose

who he has to take out trick-or-treating for the Halloween event the program set up

can you imagine Seungcheol in his leather jacket and tattoos and piercings with a little group of 6 year olds

the chaos

Rose: “what did you dress as?”

Seungcheol: “uhhhhhh….. Danny from Grease”

Rose: “who’s that?”

Seungcheol: oh my God I’m old

they get a door that’s got some fake cobwebs and bright purple string lights

Seungcheol: “go ahead little ones, knock on the door”

they yell out trick or treat and the door creaks open to…….. you

you and your friends happened to be gathering together for Halloween and decided to meet up at your friend’s old house which was in the neighborhood that Seungcheol was in

you all originally planned to watch a bunch of bad supernatural movies and give out candy to little kids

all of y’all took turns at the door and it was your turn

you give the kids a sweet smile in your doctor’s costume

(or, at least, he’s assuming it’s a costume—maybe it is and maybe it isn’t)

after you pass out the candy, Joshua, the other chaperone, rounds up the kids and Seungcheol’s eyes met your widened ones

You: “oh! it’s motorcycle dude!”

Seungcheol: “motorcycle dude?”

You: “........ you were the one who hit me with his motorcycle right?”

Seungcheol: “has anyone else hit you with a motorcycle?”

You: “so it is you!”

you two chat a bit, especially since they have to start moving to the next house

Joshua: “bro, we have to get moving, stop flirting in front of the children!”

Seungcheol: “I’m not flirting!”

he turns back to you

Seungcheol: “I’ll see you around, please don’t sue me”

You: “sue you?”

Seungcheol: “I’m a broke college kid”

You: “so am I dude”

Joshua gives him another look and another warning before they start to move to the other house

You: “you know, if you have spare time, you’re welcome to join my friends and I—we’re going to be making fun of Twilight later together”

Seungcheol: “I might take you up on that offer”

You: “well, we’ll be here, so”

you give him a smile that makes him stutter for a second, before he waves you goodbye to join the others

Rose: “Joshua says you like the doctor”

Seungcheol: “well, Joshua’s not that smart”

Joshua: “hey!”

he doesn’t know what compels him to go back to the house

but he does

(it might have taken a word or two from Rose and Joshua to encourage him)

and he has a really good time with you and your friends

hearing Seungkwan roasting Robert Pattinson was something Seungcheol didn’t know he needed

Soonyoung’s attempt of creating bgm on top of the soundtrack was also equally as hilarious

and then there were your side remarks with him throughout the movie

which he did enjoy

he left the house that night with a couple of new numbers in his phone

Jeonghan would be proud of him for making new friends on his own

after that night, you and Seungcheol hang out a bit more

you get to know each other

turns out the so called bad boy is actually just a major softie

surprise surprise, I know

he’s got a tattoo for his mom (a little heart on his heart)

he’s great at braiding (due to braiding Rose’s hair)

and he picked up sewing to patch up the holes that his friends created in their shirts

major heart eyes for Seungcheol

and he learns more about you and your little quirks

at some point, he even shares some things that happened back home

which was a bit hard for him to do but you were incredibly understanding

people just suck sometimes

one good thing about cities is that everyone minds their own business so

anyways

while he’s met your friends, you’ve also met his

you and Jeonghan are now the chaotic duo that Seungcheol wishes he can undo

Jeonghan: “are you fucking cheating? in front of my salad?”

You: steals another $50 bill from the monopoly pile

You: “no”

you two continue to hang out together as time goes and it’s great

sometimes you even hang out with him and Rose and it’s super cute

especially when you watch Seungcheol care for Rose like an actual sister

maybe that’s when the heart eyes started

he just……….. knows how to take care of people

he’s very attentive and understands that different people have different needs

it’s always a nice impromptu date

also, it’s been long overdue but he took you to the doctor’s once and brought up the whole running over your toes thing

and your toes are fine but

he still highkey feels kind of guilty but the kisses you give him compensate for the guilt

Rank each girl squad in terms of group dynamic ?

Hi anon ✨ Let’s see who I’m going to piss off today, shall we? 😂

I wasn’t sure how to interpret “group dynamic” here, so I decided to rank the girl squads based on how developed both their individual characters and the interpersonal dynamics amongst them are both on their respective shows.

1) Skam España: We’re only halfway episode 4 of s3, but I already feel like all five girls have been given distinct personalities and distinct shames. Nora was perhaps the least developed of the girls in s2, since it looks like Skam España has gotten rid of Noora’s past experiences with EDs and that was the biggest clue into Noora’s shame we got before her season. But now I feel like we have a good idea who Nora is and what makes her tick, and we already knew Eva, Viri, Amira and Cris well from the previous two seasons. And when it comes to interpersonal dynamics, I think that every season excels at developing the relationship each main has with the other girls in the squad. There’s Eva/Nora, of course, but we also got Eva/Amira scenes, and both Viri and Cris got to explain why they personally chose to shun Eva. In Cris’ season, Cris got to go on a little adventure with Nora and find out where Viri lived, the iconic Amira/Cris friendship, and of course Eva/Cris partying. I talked about this with a friend, but I think the reason Joana fits so well into the squad is that Joana is a strongly developed character herself, and so her inclusion doesn’t throw off the squad’s dynamic but gives it new angles.

2) Skam: I love Skam, and one day I’ll probably have to write a piece about why giving Isak’s storyline to the “girl Chris” character ultimately makes the girl squad more developed and the show feel less stretched out. For now, I will say I love Skam, but when I think of iconic dialogue scenes, what comes to mind are scenes such as Eskild’s speech to Isak, Sana and Yousef talking about beetle brains, Sana’s phone message for the girls, Eva and Jonas at the skate park, Eva and Jonas’ final break up, the Eva and Isak bench scene, the Isak and Jonas bench scene, the Isak and Sana bench scene, the Noora and Vilde tortilla discourse… and Sana and Noora talking about William on the windowsill. Those are all iconic scenes (in one way or the other, when it comes to the Isak/Sana bench scene for instance), and the remakes can only aspire to come close to capturing their essence. But most of them are not scenes with two people in the girl squad. Still, the Skam girl squad has very strong writing and the finest acting across all versions, so I will rank them that high because all five are very strong individuals, if not because of the writing (in the case of Chris Berg, or Eva after her season), then because of their acting (Ina Svenningdal and Lisa Teige).

3) Druck: I was torn about Druck, because I think Sam could and should have been more developed after s1. It even kind of seemed like they were going that way when she and Amira got to reply to Kiki’s comment about their hair not requiring much maintenance. I feel like the German girl squad is slightly boy-obsessed, but at the same time I liked Hanna’s character development in s2 and s3, I liked Amira’s Deliveroo subplot, I liked Kiki getting to be angry at Mia in s2, and I liked the girl squad all getting to have an opinion and taking different sides when it came to Mia/Alex. While the Kiki/Amira s4 storyline has some issues (to say the least lol), I ultimately prefer the “white girl trying her best to understand her Muslim friend who has been nothing but supportive” concept over the “white girl is repeatedly supported by her Muslim friend 3 seasons straight, but white girl betrays Muslim friend to popular white girls at the first opportunity” concept. I mean, I at least understand why Amira remains friends with Kiki in s4, I’m not so sure about Sana and Vilde. Long and short of it, Druck could stand to give the girls other things to talk about, but the girls do get a voice about the topics that are brought up.

4) Skam Austin: First off, Skam Austin is tremendously underrated, and it sucks because I think it’s one of the strongest remakes in terms of writing, music, characters, cinematography (yeah, I said it), transmedia content (which other remake has put out not one, but three songs for an in-show band), understanding what Skam is about, etc. I am personally not the biggest fan of Megan and Grace, and prefer SHAY obviously, Zoya, Kelsey and Josefina. Shay isn’t in the girl squad, so I’m excluding her for the rest of this paragraph. Anyway, when it comes to group dynamics, I feel like s1 stuck so close to Skam that it didn’t really seize the Austin girl squad potential. For s2, the writers switched things up and gave each girl a storyline, which both developed them and gave them other things to talk about, thus improving the group dynamic. I loved how Josefina’s quest for the perfect cupcake led to a hookup with PenJo (to my slight rage, we’re calling him that) and an online relationship with Damien. I love that Josefina got to voice her opinion about Grace betraying Kelsey. I love that Zoya got to tell Grace something like, “it must be great, being right all the time,” or something along those lines. I loved that Kelsey was like, “actually, I don’t need to be like Vilde. I’m going to empower my Muslim friend and LGBTI people everywhere, even if I’m clumsy about it.” And, as much as I don’t particularly care for Megan or Grace, I do buy their friendship and I really like that they were supportive of each other no matter what. Not every Eva/Noora version can say that.

5) Skam NL: I honestly can’t speak all that much about NL, because I didn’t really watch s2 and, from what I hear, most of their development takes place in that season. S1 is a bit weird because Imaan’s actress was unavailable for a lot of the season, and the storyline dictates that Engel be on her own for parts of it, as well. This sort of led to a bunch of scenes where Isa, Liv and Janna hung out on her own, getting a piercing for Isa, drinking and yelling at the moon on a rooftop terrace, reenacting music videos in their fantasies, etc. And then we also have a bunch of clips where the girls are just hanging out, discussing the state of their bush, going to get their carpet in order, buying condoms, etc. All in all, I feel NL has a bunch of scenes where the girls just hang out that don’t necessarily move the plot forward or give them all distinct personalities and shames, but do wonders for the group dynamics. It’s very slice of life, this show is about nothing in particular, the plot is just a vehicle for showing teen girls having fun together, and, let’s say, in the grand scheme of Skam remakes, there are worse things than a series taking on the Hangout Movie genre.

6) Skam Italia: So like, I watched s1 and s2 of Skam Italia, and I’m going to say one thing: I buy that all these girls like each other and are friends with each other. (Apparently this aspect gets dropped in s3, but I can’t comment on that.) For all Skam Italia’s faults, the girls are physically affectionate with each other, look out for each other, and they’re not tremendous dicks to each other.

7) Skam France: I feel like the French girl squad would’ve been better served if the showrunners had chosen to keep copypasting the Skam scripts. I certainly liked them way more in s1 and even s3 than I did in s4. I’m ranking them lower because these girls are tremendous dicks to each other, and not just in s4. They just yell at each other so much. I think this is a remake where the fandom kind of understands that the girl squad isn’t its best asset, and they stan other aspects of the show instead.

8) wtFOCK: I’ll be brief. The characters are flat, their storylines are underwritten, Luca and Amber are supposed to be childhood friends, and yet Amber is a huge dick to Luca, moreso than any Vilde towards her Chris B. And their ganging up on Robbe in s2 to find out his sexuality… wtFOCK consistently reaching for new lows, folks. The vibes are rancid.

School, occupation or other? Oh boy, OK at the time of this I'm still employed. I am an Operations Assistant and Procurement at a medium to large phone service company. We are an extention of one of the bigger brand cellphone companies in South Africa. Real proper office job, but they let me have my hair funky colours and let me walk around with my piercings so yeah.

And thus only a handful of people in my life now know my birth name, fact.

Are you shy? I am. I'm hella shy even though I come across as I'm not. Through the years I've kinda mastered fake confidence? It's kinda like a defence mechanism for me at this point. The air outside was perfectly cool, and you felt the seasons changing as if it was happening in your bones. Your feet met the sidewalk outside of your school, and you stared up at it, its visage a blanket of opportunity to most, and a prison to some. Although you were still a new student, you generally thought of yourself in the neutral mindset between those absolute poles, but today you’d rather be at home in your bed, curled up and comfortable–though, your bed didn’t have quite this many handsome faces, and bright smiles. Serenaded by the male section of the student body even now, you swayed a bit, the bell shocking you out of your daydreaming, making you go a bit rigid, uniform ruffling slightly. Glancing up the front of the school, your eyes settled on flags and the like, sighing at how displays of school spirit made you feel even less proud.

Newton High flew its banners with confidence, the bright yellow lettering of the school motto “Shine Forever” vibrant as ever as it stretched the length of the banner; which billowed outside the tall doors. The closer you got to the doors, the sweeter the air smelled, and you felt as if the cherry blossoms had been in bloom since you transferred there, framing the fairytale world you had always imagined the school to be. You had been there a few months by this point, but it was still a bit of a culture shock—and you were sure you’d never seen this many handsome boys in your life. God, you had heart palpitations every day over it—and as you dropped into your assigned seat in History class, you wondered how you’d ever force yourself to pay more attention to the lectures; even the teachers here were sexy.

Your professor entered moments after you found yourself seated, and you watched him walk across the room, your eyes focused on how good he looked in those slacks. He smiled and faced the board a moment, writing the date and lecture title on the board before turning to face the class, “Good morning, students.” He smiled wide, opening the history textbook on his desk, fingers pushing up the nose of his glasses to situate them perfectly, “I know you are all eager to get to today’s lesson, but let’s begin class today by going over the homework from last night—oh, don’t groan, it’s only five questions, please.” He seemed annoyed, and though you found yourself unable to focus on anything but him at the moment, you hoped he wasn’t made enough to assign even more work, “Start with number one under multiple choice, at the end of chapter 12—Y/N—” He gestured to you, and you could have fallen out of your seat, clamoring to sit up straight. He nodded, eyes focused on you, “Can you answer it for me, please?”

“Wha—um…well, it’s…Um…” You were panicking, staring down at a page of notes and nothing else. You had completely forgotten that you had had homework in the first place. Sinking a bit, you lifted your shoulders, wishing you could curl up in a ball, or at least hide in plain sight. Cringe. You wrinkled your brows, you hadn’t expected to be called, “I—didn’t do it. I’m sorry, Yoo Senpai.”

Yoo Senpai turned to look at a girl in your class, a bit of a bratty troublemaker that sat closer to the front, but off to the side. He raised a brow at her, the corners of his lips twitching in what could almost be called a smile,“That makes both of you.” He said evenly, “Maybe I should keep you both after class.” He drug teeth across his bottom lip, before realizing what he was insinuating. Stammering, he swallowed, pushing his glasses back into place again, a nervous habit, “Ahem, anyone want to help Y/N out?”

A voice, from your right, deeper than the other boys in class, was the first to answer, “It’s C. The Berlin wall came down in 1989.” They said, the sound causing you to turn your head and focus on its source. Im Changkyun, the resident bookworm and all-around odd ball, had answered the question for you. Rumors had always flooded the air around the male, but you had never actually spoken to him yourself—and now that you found your position directly next to him, you observed him, and found him to be quite handsome.

So, this was the boy everyone talked about all the time? That jaw, those plump lips, pretty eyes, and slender frame—this was the weirdo? You could hardly believe it—but, you would be lying if you said it didn’t make you curious about him. You crossed your arms slowly, and regarded him for a moment, just looking over him, your eyes watching his elegant fingers open the book he had been reading, his focus leaving the lecture to focus on the words before him—he probably wouldn’t be called on again, anyways. You inhaled slowly, something about him speaking to you, making you feel the need to talk to him, to get closer.

Yoo Senpai carried on as if you hadn’t just blatantly checked out, and Changkyun wasn’t reading something unrelated to class entirely. Eyes set on another part of the class, he waved a hand, “Very good, now. Let’s move on. Question 2—"

Not wanting to call too much attention to yourself, you would pull a piece of scratch paper from your notebook and scrawl a quick “Thanks” on it, clumsily passing it to him with one finger, sliding it onto his desk. Yoo Senpai didn’t, and wouldn’t notice, seemingly done with the two of you for the day.

Changkyun unfolded the piece of paper and smiled lightly as he stared at the word. Shifting his head to the side, his gorgeous hair undisturbed, though he tweaked a pierced eyebrow, dark makeup around his eyes making them look all the more piercing. Writing back in fairly good script, Changkyun sent back, “Don’t mention it”, tossing it onto your desk, the paper sliding close to your resting hand.

It didn’t take you long to answer, figuring you might as well take the plunge. No time like the present, right? You wrote quickly, ‘Can I ask you a question? Are you really a vampire like they all say?’. You felt as if you had no tact, but you couldn’t just not ask him, and you couldn’t figure out a gentile way of posing such a question to someone. Better blunt than silent, you thought.

Raising a brow, Changkyun scribbled, ‘Why?’

‘You’re always reading those books, and your teeth really look like fangs.’ You offered it back, your fingers brushing his, but you shrugged off the feeling.

‘Do you really want to know?’ He returned, tipping his head toward you, book sat down for the moment, his eyes focusing on you through slight periphery. He ran fingers down the slender column of his neck as he waited, curious what you might say.

‘Yes. Please.’ Was all you could manage to get back to him, both eager and a bit freaked out.

When he offered the note back, you held it up, staring at the words for a long time. ‘Meet me in the library after school. Three-twenty, after she locks the front doors. The entrance by the back is left open for safety.’ What should you do? You swallowed the lump in your throat and looked back at him, slowly nodding your head, hesitation only making you look more innocent.

Sneaking into the library was easy using the door that Changkyun had suggested. You pretty much just walked right in as you would have if it were open during the day. The place was nearly dark, and in its dimness, you navigated your way around tables, looking around for the outcast, sure he was there somewhere. Standing in the center of the room, you wrinkled your brows, whispering rather loudly, “Changkyun…?”

“Under here—” was all you heard from a nearby table, so you bent down, looking until you met the inhuman eyes of the other. Slipping down under the desk, you crawled to him, sitting with crisscrossed legs across from him.

Settling, you laughed gently into the back of your hand, thinking it was very immature that you had just snuck into the library, of all places, in order to hide under a table with a guy—though, a small part of you felt a tiny thrill, “Why are you under the desk?”

“Hey, we may be seniors, but we will still get in deep shit if we are caught breaking into the library after hours—” He said with a light shrug, looking more than at home right where he sat. You could tell this wasn’t the first time he’d snuck in here, “—so, I’m just trying to stay hidden so we can talk and no one will see us through the windows over there.” He pointed to a line of transparent glass windows, and you made an understanding sound, nodding.

“Good call…” You said slowly, rolling your gaze back to him, focusing even in the dark, “So, back to my question. Are you a vampire? Or are you just faking everyone out?”

He laughed as if he was about to call you cute for being so adamant, his body language rather controlled, yet relaxed, “Well, you do see my fangs, don’t you?” He asked, opening his lips slowly and licking over the vampiric shape of his canines.

You blushed at the way he licked his teeth, but the dark hid it for the most part, “Yeah, but—”

“You don’t believe they are real. I’m telling you, I am what I am.” He shrugged before leaning forward slightly, with confident intent, his hand lifting to point towards his teeth, “Here. Touch them.”

“I—” Something compelled you to act, like an invisible force, and you couldn’t help yourself. Normally, you wouldn’t go anywhere near someone else’s teeth, but now you found yourself reaching forward, touching a fang slowly. Cleaned and returned to the hallway, Changkyun would see you out the door. It was oddly sweet that he wanted to stay close to you for the time being, but you could take it from here. Smiling, you waved to him, and he nodded, “I’ll see you around. I have to return a book, then I’ll be on the road as well.” You could have called him a nerd for being so concerned about book returns after he’d just fucked you into oblivion, but you figured you’d let him have this one considering how mind blowing the orgasm he’d just given you was. So, you settled for a quick goodbye before prancing off down the hall and toward the doors, sneaking back out and down the road toward your house.

Back in the library, Changkyun returned to his backpack and pulled out the book he had been reading prior in the classroom. Moving through the stacks, he found the proper section, glancing at all the books before hooking his copy beneath his arm for the time being. Dropping a hand, he pulled a small medicine bottle from his pocket and opened it, his free hand working off the fangs he’d been wearing with a dense pop, revealing fairly normal canines beneath. Smiling, he dropped both faux fangs into the bottle before pocketing it again. Thank God for dental glue.

Looking back to the books, his eyes glowed, his own supernatural element dancing behind them. Pulling the seventh volume from under his arm, he would put it gently back into its place on the shelf, a smile covering his face as he looked at the line of books. How he loved them—but, if the alpha found out he was reading about vamps, he’d be the laughing stock of the pack. Ears wiggling, he reached a hand up, almost as if he were saying goodbye to the series, fingers trailing over gold gilded words—

“Into the Night.”

i’ve been tagged by @ink-and-petrichor for this one, so thanks! raine seems really chill, and i totally understand what she means by just being on her own and watching the stars and feeling the wind on her face in the silence -- honestly, could use some of that right now myself. ANYWAY. i’ve done this before for Zhen & Lu, Ren, Jia & Jun, and Shou & Teng, so i’m up to my last two characters, and they are... the Yus.

Yes, so there’s Yu(f), the girl who’s obsessed with work, and Yu(m), who I dub as ‘The Stoic One’. So let’s get to know them! I’ll be using the set of 15 questions that is more appropriate for my story! rules: answer 15 questions as either yourself or one of your OCs, then tag 15 people. 1. What is your full name? Yu(f): Yu Yu(m): Yu Yu(f): Don’t get mistaken though, i’m on the fourth tone, like ‘Jade’. That guy’s on the third tone, like ‘Rain’ or something. 2. What does your name mean? Yu(f): Are you seriously wasting my time with these questions right now? Didn’t I just answer that? 3. What are your nicknames / other names? Yu(f): (gets ready to walk off) Yu(m): Yu. Just sit down. Yu(f): I’m not your dog, you don’t tell me what to do! Yu(m): Yeah. You really want to prove Zhen right? That you can’t get your ass off of work for even 30 short minutes? 5. What’s your sexuality? Yu(f): Seriously, are they allowed to ask such questions? Yu(m): We were warned. Yu(f): Ah. Fine. Okay, I don’t really know okay? Maybe I’m straight. Maybe I’m bi. Maybe I’m just someone who’s trying to finish the paperwork that’s piling up on my desk because guess what? No one does any work around here! And guess who’s left picking up the slack? Yu(m): ... You caught her on a bad day. Anyway. I’m likely straight, but don’t really care either way. 6. Where are you from? Yu(f): We. Don’t Know. That. Yu(m): We aren’t really supposed to know. Yu(f): That’s the whole point, isn’t it? We aren’t supposed to know anything about our pasts. We aren’t supposed to remember. We are dead and all those are bygones now -- it doesn’t matter. You are starting to sound like Shou. 7. How old are you? Yu(f): I don’t know. But if I had to guess, I’d peg myself as around the same age as Zhen. 21 maybe? 23? Who the hell knows. Yu(m): I should be older. Maybe 25 - 26. Teng’s still the oldest among us, though. 8. Any special talents? Yu(f): Huh. Yu(m): ... Yu(f): I mean, dear ol’ Yu here has the tendency to trip over his own feet and accidentally slice himself open on any surface he happens to fall on. Don’t judge him by his stoic good looks -- he’s a dork. Yu(m): I-I.. It’s not like I... sometimes, sometimes it’s like... my feet moves and -- Yu(f): -- yeah and the air comes over and trips you over. Sure. You don’t have to keep up your ‘cool’ facade with us. We all know it’s garbage. Yu(m): It’s not! A facade! Yu(f): Anyway. I guess my greatest talent is somehow still staying sane despite living right beside Zhen and her kid. And now Shou too, apparently. People like to say I’m impatient, but can they withstand those three chaos of human beings? Huh, yeah. I thought not. 9. How do you look like? Yu(f): How narcissistic do you want us to be, to describe ourselves? Yu(m): She’s not good-looking. Traditionally, I mean. Yu(f): He only can say that because he’s gotten big-headed from all the talk about ‘that cold, dark and handsome guy’ from the ‘Noisies’ but honestly. He’s standing beside Teng all day. It’s not difficult to be considered attractive. Yu(m): There’s Jun too. Yu(f): ... Fine, but Jun is a menace to society and everyone knows that. It’s like, do you want that pretty, delicate-looking boy who picks your pockets and threatens your children, or that ~~ unknown brooding handsome man ~~ who, as far as they know, has no odd quirks to speak of? Yu(m): I have no.... quirks. Yu(f): Sure. You know you only speak to me ‘cause you can’t speak to anyone else. 10. What’s your aesthetic? Yu(m): She’s messy hair. And coffee. And work. A lot of coffee, and a lot a lot of work. Yu(f): I’ve already said it earlier, didn’t I? He’s that nasty brooding literature-character types that people just love to fawn over. People are just so desperate and lonely here, they’ll grab at anything. He even stands sullenly in the corner of the room! He’s got all the traits down! He pretends like he doesnt know what ‘trope’ he fits into but he knows it and he knows it well. Don’t be fooled. Yu(m): Hey! I... I don’t... uh... don’t besmirch my good name! 11. Who’s your best friend? Yu(f): Best friends don’t exist around here. We might get whisked off anytime, what for make friends? Yu(m): ... 12. Would you ever get a piercing / tattoo? Yu(f): Who’s to say I don’t already have one? Yu(m): ... You.. you do? Yu(f): Ha. You wish you knew.

13. When are you happiest? Yu(f): When people can just stop bothering me for one second and let me finish my work. And when people actually does all the proper paperwork and licenses for their shops. Yes, I am specifically referring to Zhen, my neighbour Zhen, who lives right beside me, the inspector who goes around checking for shop licenses when she has none. Yes, ZHEN. Z-H-E-N. Yu(m): Are you admitting that you have been letting her go all this time? Yu(f): ... No. No, I’m admitting to nothing. I’m just saying, she needs to get her paperwork done and filed. And I have been lenient towards her, because I’m a nice and charitable person. Yu(m): And that if you close her shop, you might incur the wrath of everyone in town? Yu(f): ... I don’t care about their wrath. Yu(m): So you care about her food. Yu(f): What’s with the interrogation? I want to invoke my right to a lawyer! 14. What’s your biggest secret? Yu(f): ... Yu(m): ... Yeah. It’s been bothering me. That day. With Jun. Yu(f): I told you, it was nothing. Yu(m): It doesn’t seem like you. Yu(f): Like I said, I’m a kind and charitable person. You don’t know anything about me. What about you, huh? What’s your problem? Yu(m): I am fine. Yu(f): Bullshit. Yu(m): I am. Truly. Fine. I don’t know why people don’t believe that. 15.
