EXTRA EXTRA! IS LOVE BREWING FOR OUR RESIDENT HOGWARTS HUNK?

“Wallflower! Do you have the prints from the choir tryouts?” Soonyoung Kwon was perched on a piano bench in the back of the newsroom, the green and black necktie tied around his head, flapping like a flag in the wind every time he moved. “I want Beth Cloddington vomming front and center of this week’s issue,” he said, sticking his hands out in two Ls and looking through them like a camera.

In front of him was a rolling chalkboard littered with half-finished articles on one edge, the other covered in pieces of ripped parchment, tips from fellow students. In the center, a mock front page with the words The Whomping Whistler in all caps across the top.

Soonyoung threw his head behind his shoulder, “Wallflower!” he yelled, the tie whipping him in the face.

You popped around the corner, “Hold your thestrals Hoshi!” Tossing a tray of photos down next to him. “You want to see her vom,” you ask, rifling through the stack, “or just her about to? I’ve got a few good ones.”

Hoshi wrinkled his nose, “Do you have one that cuts out right before?” You find the one you were looking for with a small aha! before handing it over. “Perfect. This is gonna be just perfect,” he mumbled, tacking the photo with a quick spell right under this week's headline, ‘Daylight Sabatoge or Deadly School Lunch?’

“We’re going to be ready for print soon, yeah?” you said, as you stuck your wand in your haphazardly twisted bun. Soonyoung may be the Editor-in-Chief, but your deadline was hard approaching and it made you anxious nonetheless. Hot gossip only stayed hot for so long.

Soonyoung pursed his lips, “It’ll be a close call, still waiting on the rest of the quidditch leaks-oi, Pudding! Eta on the quidditch rosters?” There was a loud noise in the corner as 4th year Raveena Patil appeared from underneath a pile of old issues of The Daily Prophet, a mane of curly black hair framed her face and a pair of black wire-rimmed glasses sat crooked on her nose. She shrugged and Soonyoung rolled his eyes before huffing and turning back to you.

“The Gryffindor team is really where the news is anyways and Dino brought us that today, something about losing one of their beaters this year. We should get it printed tomorrow.” He ruffled his frazzled beach blonde hair, adding, “Hopefully?” when you sent him a questioning look. Although, if anyone could hit a headline, it would be Raveena.

Raveena Patil was a headstrong, highly ambitious, and downright terrifying, 4th year Ravenclaw. After a crucial tip led to the start of the publication during her first year, she’d proven herself to be the Whistler’s prized possession. The eyes and ears of Hogwarts they called her. Not a single secret could get past the likes of her.

Raveena was also next year’s shoo-in for Editor-in-Chief.

With both you and Soonyoung in your 7th year, slated to leave after your N.E.W.T.S., Raveena was the perfect person to keep the show running in your steed.

“You know what I think it’s time for?” says Soonyoung, turning to you with a slightly crazed look on his face. You shook your head, worry creasing your forehead, “My dear Wallflower, it is time for,” He paused for dramatic effect and you prayed to Merlin he didn’t say speech— “a speech!” He exclaimed, throwing up jazz hands.

You groaned. It was nearly 2 am, and even 4 cups of Nocturna Brewery’s double-caffeinated coffee wasn’t enough to get you through one of Soonyoung’s sleep-deprived, erratic, pump-up speeches.

Soonyoung shoves the photo tray over and you catch it before it clangs to the floor.

“Alrighty team!” He bellows, jumping up on the bench, “Gather ‘round and listen up!” Raveena crawls out from under her pile and the rest of your small rag-tag team ambles on over.

“It’s the first week, and I want us to start strong.” Soonyoung threw his fists out, pumping them with vigour. “The first issue will be good, but I know that we can do great! Remember what they say,” he pointed at the group, “it is not men who do things! But doing it makes them great!” You winced, that was not at all how the saying goes. He had the right energy though, as everyone around him cheered.

”You cannot manufacture men any more than you can manufacture gold!” He roared. There were hollars from the team and you thought it was about time to reel him in. You grabbed his arm and hoisted yourself onto the bench too, earning more hollers, and even some whoops.

You started, “When we first started this publication three years ago, we had no idea how big it would become. None of that was possible without you all!” There were jeers and whistles, and a few Let’s go Wallflower! “Everyone, great work tonight! But I think we’ve earned some sleep. Hands in everyone!” Everyone rushed forward, trying to get closer, as you and Soonyoung stuck your hands in front of you in the air, “To greatness!”

“To greatness!” They all cheered. You clambered off the bench holding a hand out for Soonyoung. He hopped off with a stumble, tucking the tie that fell in his face behind his ear.

“Can you hang back for a bit Wallflower?” You nodded confused, as Soonyoung waited for everyone else to pack up and leave.

Once the newsroom was empty, sans the two of you, Soonyoung swung towards you with a devilish smile on his face. “I have a special mission for you Wallflower,” he said in a sing-song voice.

You groaned for the second time that night, “Please don’t tell me you still think they’re growing cannabis in the greenhouses, I swear on my camera they’re not.” The smile slipped off his face.

“What? No? Y/n, that was so last year,” he said, exasperated.

(It was not. He’d asked you to look into it literally on the first day of school.)

Soonyoung looked around the room, making sure there was truly no one else left, before dropping his voice down to a whisper yell, “I have it on good intel, very good intel,-” Code for Raveena, “that Seungcheol Choi has a girlfriend.”

Soonyoung looked at you with fired-up eyes, a smirk grazing his lips.

You blinked, and Soonyoung blinked back before his smirk started to slowly slip off his face. The silence was deafening.

You cleared your throat, “Okay . . . and?”

There was another pause.

“Okay AND?!” Soonyoung shrieked. You wince, throwing up your hands to cover your ears.

“The, the Seungcheol Choi has a girlfriend. We have to be the first to break the news and,” He booped your nose, “you, my dear Wallflower, are going to figure out who the lucky girl is. Then you’re gonna get a picture of them kissing.” He started backing up before you could even protest, picking up his messenger bag and slinging it over his shoulder.

“Y/n, this is going to be our biggest story yet, I can just feel it.” You shook your head, a whiny no begging to slip past your pout. “One picture love, that’s all I need,” He said sticking a finger up, before switching to a finger heart.

“Get some sleep, you’re gonna need it!” and with that, he was out the door, leaving you alone with your thoughts. With a sigh, you started gathering your things, sorting photos and parchment into separate piles.

Seungcheol Choi’s girlfriend. You weren’t sure where to even start with that one. However, Soonyoung was (unfortunately) right. It would be huge if you snapped a picture of Hogwarts’ resident golden boy with a partner.

But how? Were you supposed to follow him around everywhere? You shook your head, grabbing your camera off the table and checking the room one last time before turning out the lights with a swift Lumos.

It’s not like you hadn’t done it before.

Last year, Raveena had been tipped off that Trixie Prewett was fooling around with Keerthy Ramaswamy. No one would’ve batted an eye if it weren’t for the fact that, after multiple years of being on the receiving end of each other's curses in Dueling Club, they were ‘sworn enemies’ and ‘rivals to the death.’

You’d followed Trixie everywhere, trying to catch her in the act. It wasn’t too difficult with her also being a 6th year Ravenclaw, but it did make your free time nearly non-existent for a whole week. How were you supposed to do that with a Gryffindor boy?

It was also going to be harder to do during a N.E.W.T.S. year, especially on top of manning most of the photography for the Whistler.

Maybe you should've started Dino on photo duty earlier.

“It’s obviously Azkaban, A-Z-K-A-B-A-N, Azkaban!”

“Hoshi, how the fuck is a 4-across clue Azkaban,” the two of you were sitting in the great hall, this morning’s Daily Prophet in front of you, opened to the crossword.

“Oh, uh, okay. Let’s try a different one?” said Soonyoung before shovelling a forkful of pancakes in his mouth, chewing obnoxiously.

You looked at him with disgust before going back to the crossword, “7-diagonal, scarlet leather ball?”

Soonyoung swallowed before answering, “Easy, Basilisk, B-A-S-I–”

“Merlin, that is not how you do these.” You wanted to bash your head against the table. Or maybe Soonyoung’s. Last night hadn’t resulted in very much sleep after heading back to your dorm, lying awake most of the night, head churning with thoughts of a certain Gryffindor.

You stare across the Great Hall, eyes landing on the said boy, Seungcheol Choi. He was flanked on either side by his fellow Gryffindors, and best friends, Jeonghan Yoon and Joshua Hong. Seungcheol was leaning over Jeonghan’s shoulder, as the latter furiously scribbled something down, while Joshua sat quietly reading a book, only moving to steal grapes off of Seungcheol’s plate and pop them in his mouth.

“So, do you have a plan for Operation Golden Boy?” whispered Soonyoung.

You yelped, jumping nearly three feet in the air. “Bloody hell, what the fuck Hosh,” you hissed smacking him back with your quill and rubbing your ear. “And for your information, no, I don’t have a plan. I’ll just, I dunno, make like a dragon and wing it?”

Hoshi grinned, “That’s my Wallflower!” You tried grinning back, but it came out more like a wince.

The truth was, you didn’t know much about Seungcheol. Well, you knew as much as anyone would after spending the past 6 years together at a boarding school, but you were in different houses and ran in completely different circles, your paths didn’t really cross much.

Not sure if you could call him your resident it boy, but Seungcheol sure was the everything boy of Hogwarts. Prefect in year 5, Quidditch Captain in year 6, and now, he’s Head Boy. On top of that, he’s class topper in nearly all his classes, tutors 5th years gearing up for their O.W.L.S., started the big buddy little buddy system for an easier transition for the first years, has led the Save-the Flobberworms campaign for five years in a row at Hogwarts, and the few times you’d spoke to him, he was super nice. If you asked anyone else at Hogwarts, they’d tell you some iteration of the same thing.

You sighed before folding up the Prophet and shoving it into your bag. You’ll figure it out. After all, how hard could it be to get a photo of a 17-year-old boy sucking face with his girlfriend?

You were awoken by the soft light that seeped into the otherwise dark room. It slipped in through the gap of the curtains and cast a golden hue. You opened your eyes slowly, taking in the surroundings of your boyfriends room as you streched. With fluttering eyes, you turned in his bed and faced your boyfriend. His dark hair was covering some of his bare face, you lifted a hand to move it to the side. You liked him better without makeup; barefaced, his perfect imperfections on display, such as the eye bags that gave an insight to his sleepless nights. He looked much more innocent this way, like a normal 26 year old. Well, you should say 27 year old, after all today was his birthday.

You brought up your hand to softly brush his cheek, before leaning into gently place a kiss on his nose.

He scrunched his nose, showing he was begining to wake up, and you couldn't help but smile at his actions.

"Good morning birthday boy." you whispered, as he began to wake up, his long eyelashes that you were always jealous of, fluttering onto his cheekbones.

"Morning angel." he groaned, as he rubbed his eyes. He turned on his side so he could meet his hazelnut eyes with yours. A smile creeping onto his face as he did so.

"Did you sleep well?" you asked.

He nodded in response, "Always do when you're next to me. Did you? I wasn't too hard on you last night was I?"

You shook your head in response, "I slept fine. How do you feel? You're officially 27."

"Agh don't say that. Im old."

"You said that last year." you joke, poking a finger at his side. He laughed softly, before pulling you closer to him. Your bare chest pressing into his.

He leaned in to place soft butterfly kisses onto your jaw, making his way down to your neck and shoulders. "Mm baby, we have to go."

He rested his head in the crook of your neck as he shook his head gently, "No we don't, it's my birthday let me enjoy time with my love."

You brought up a hand to play with his hair, as he continued peppering your shoulder with kisses, "you have the full day to spend time with me."

"But then the others will be there. I just want to take in this perfect morning with you."

You smiled fondly at his actions, and took one of his hands into yours. He leaned back and looked at you. Took all of you in as you were. Bare faced and natural. You were beautiful. Using his free hand, he swept your hair back behind your ear so he could press a tender kiss onto your temple. "Come on then, lets get ready for the day." he sighed. As much as he loved filming Seventeen content, he would do anything to spend his birthday with you and only you.

He got up from his position, pressing a quick kiss on your lips. He pulled on a pair of sweatpants before disappearing behind the bathroom door. You got up too, finding a random tshirt of his to put on, before you followed him to the bathroom. You stood at the doorway, admiring his toned body.

He smiled at you from the mirror once he noticed you, and you made your way to brush your teeth next to him.

"Stop staring at me." you giggled, suddently feeling very embarrassed as his eyes followed your every move. He just shook his head, a grin evident on his face. He finished up, and turned to envelope you in a back hug. He rested his chin on your head, attentive eyes watching as you continued with your morning routine.

"We'll probably have to tell them sooner or later." he finally mumbled, when you turned in his arms to face him. He pressed a kiss to your forehead, "Don't think I can hide my affection for you that much longer."

You wrapped your arms around his neck, and stood on your tiptoes so you could peck his lips. But that wasn't enough for Seungcheol, he pulled you closer and met his lips to yours, harder then before, and kissed you. He leaned down so he could deepen the kiss, your lips fought for control, but it was pointless, you opened yours slightly so he could slip in his tongue. One of his hands digged into your waist, the other creeping below so he could hold your bum.

"Jump." he ordered into the kiss. You obeyed, and he lifted you with ease, taking you to the countertop. Bringing one hand up to hold your face, he placed the other on your thigh and squeezed it slightly.

"Hyung!" came a sudden voice that could only belong to Dokyeom.

Seungcheol sighed, resting his forehead on your chest as he huffed again.

"I think thats our sign to go." you laughed, as he shook his head at his clingy members.

"They don't give me two minutes." he complained, as he took your hand to lead you out of his room.

"What." He finally said as the two of you entered the kitchen, and it seemed as though you must of missed the usual noisiness.

"Since when?" asked a mortified Seungkwan from behind his cereal.

"Since when what?" asked their annoyed leader.

"Ahh they heard you last night." said an amused Jeonghan, as he came to pat the backs of his fellow 95 liner and younger member. Jeonghan was the first to know, after having seen the two of you sneak out to have a quick make out whilst at a music show, "I knew it" he had claimed.

Though a few of the older members knew of your relationship, majority of the younger ones did not. And this was not the best way for them to find out.

You couldn't help but laugh at the horrified faces of your members, and went to take a seat next to Dino.

"Sorry, we would of told you earlier." you smiled at him as you dragged him into hug him.

"Noona, I'm traumatised."

"Ey we could kind of tell." said an uninterested Vernon, "Happy birthday though."

The annoyed look Seungcheol had worn, began to disappear as he looked around at his girlfriend and members. He took a seat next to you and began eating whatever had been prepared. He listened as they planned what to do for his birthday after filming and joked with one another. His eyes always went to you, to make sure you were eating, were laughing and taking apart.

When you weren't looking at him, he pressed a quick kiss on your cheek.

"Thank you, for the best birthday morning." he whispered when you turned to face him.

A warm smile made its way onto your face, but before you could answer Joshua beat you to it, "Yah this doesn't mean you can be kissing in front of us all the time now."

"Why not. She's my precious girlfriend." joked Seungcheol as he went to place an exaggerated kiss on your cheek.

They erupted into laughter, and even though you were pretending to wipe off his kiss, Seungcheol was really thankful to you.

as the oldest two members in seventeen and leader and co-leader, they have a huge responsibility on their shoulders in their everyday life. in the co-ed group, seungcheol and minji both take on the "parental" roles in the group. need options or advice? go to them. seungcheol, being six days older than her, believes that minji shouldn't put to much pressure on that "pretty face" and "pretty body" of hers. 100% her simp in everything she does. she needs new clothing? he's buying it for her. she looked at expensive shoes for 0.0001 seconds? he bought them for her. she's ordering food? she can put it on his card. to anyone who isn't stanning seventeen, people would've thought he was her sugar daddy or husband at that point.

though every single relationship has it ups and downs, platonic or not. even if it was a single mistake or a huge mistake, they get into arguments that lead to minji out of the room and drive to her private apartment. days or weeks can pass without a single dialogue passed forward between them and it would take the members to force them to work it out; the members don't want their towers of support crashing down on each other. after a few moments of silence between seungcheol and minji, she would eventually burst into tears and hugs would be exchanged between them, whispering apologies. being held to the responsibilities with many members to take care of, it's no doubt they've leaned on each other in moments of despair and pain.

ever since minji entered the green room and introduced herself, he couldn't help but feel that she was going to be stuck up as she had transferred from a higher agency. but he later came to find out that she wasn't and she never used that towards her advantage. though people claim that jeonghan might be the better fit as the parental figure of the group alongside coups, minji doesn't mind sharing that role with him as all moms do need a break. before she introduced her birthdate, jeonghan believed that she had to be younger than him and kept pushing her to call him "oppa" when she referred to him. minji, confused by this as a foreigner and that she was older than him, eventually asked for his birthday and jeonghan soon came to realize how wrong he really was. embarrassment was written all over his face in that moment, but they later laugh it off in the following days.

throughout the years, minji and jeonghan have always supported each other and are each other’s number one priority. due to that, they’ve had intimate moments and jeonghan became minji’s first everything. these two had a cute friendship throughout the years minji was dating other people, but jeonghan couldn’t stop himself from feeling jealousy. he would go to the rest of the members ranting to them about his love problems. when minji would later break up with her ex-partners, the pair would go back to normal. the female member would realize the perfect person in front of her.

100% trouble makers along with joshua, and seem to almost break seungcheol's limit. they prank the other members with absurd plans and some how none of them decide to separate them from each other. though jokes aside, when minji is more emotional than ever, jeonghan is the best person to go to. jeonghan is often referred to the "emotional support hyung" and minji is first in line to receive comfort. but even jeonghan has his moments, and minji is thought of first when he looks for reassurance.

occurring moments between them include: giggling 25/8, building lego sets + buying lego sets, their trips to paris, tormenting seungcheol, baking cakes, secret visits to her house, romantic getaways, talking to eachother in japanese, minji supporting cheating ❪ in games ❫ jeonghan, braiding each other’s hair, and decorating / putting stickers on their hair.

california hot guy & california hot girl. the LA duo.. the CALI duo.. these two are peas in a pod. when minji revealed that she lived in california, specifically los angeles, joshua couldn't help but be excited for another english speaker in the group and a person from home. to make matters more exciting, when they went to LA for their USA Tour, minji's mother literally screamed at the sight of joshua and went to immediately call his mother. turns out minji's mother and shua's mother knew each other as they were old friends during their high school years. the news only brought the two even more closer

they speak in english almost all the time and shua manages to throw in a bit of spanish from his high school requirement to take a foreign language. this only brought damage to minji's korean as she struggles a bit more with the language due to shua & vernon. both of them are huge prankers along with jeonghan and no one really knows how the three introverts of the 95 line managed to create chaos.

The Airport Incident

synopsis: the incident which made protecting yeona at airports, seungcheol's personal mission

year: 2016

Yeona had a rough time early in their rookie days. Likely because debuting in a group dominated by 13 men as the only female member didn't seem favorable to a lot of people.

She was subject to a lot of criticism and hate. She hated it. It absolutely broke her to constantly hear these for a year

Why is she there?

They would do better without her.

I wouldn't even be surprised if she seduced one of them. Probably all of them.

It became worse when they were scheduled to fly from Seoul to New York for Kcon.

Yeona had a security team plus her members to guard her if anything went wrong but some moments still surprises her.

Seungcheol was walking beside her. The rest of the members were either ahead or behind them. She had a mask on, her passport and ticket in her hands, and a bag craddling on her shoulder.

It would've been a normal airport day, until the unprecedented happened. They might have slipped passed their attention because the next thing Yeon knew someone was pulling on her hair.

"You're such a slut!" A woman, who could've been in her late teens or early twenties shouted at her after she took a good tug.

Shock would've been an understatement for everyone. "What the hell?!" Seungcheol shouted quickly putting himself in front of Yeona to cover her from the woman. The other members approached their leader and female member as well for defense while the security team was taking the woman away. "They would've done fine without you!", the woman added before she was finally escorted away.

Her and the members were also being asked to walk faster and to get away from the crowd, to get more privacy.

Yeona was stil recovering from the shock. Her hand was on the back of her head, and her other was holding onto Seungcheol's arms for support. The leader had his arms wrapped around the girl while rubbing ber back.

"Are you okay? Did she do anything else?" asked the elder, with his eyes on the girls face, which she replied with a, "No. I'm fine, just a bit surprised"

"What the fuck just happened?" Mingyu whisper-shouted who just recovered from the shock himself, and quickly came over to check on his friend. "What is their problem? That was so uncalled for!" Seungkwan exclaimed.

"Yeona, oh my god" Seokmin stated in a concerned voice as he touched her face. Wonwoo approached her next. Worry was clearly evident in his face and one look at her expression he quickly knew that she was holding back her tears. "You're not okay...", He whispered to her. It was a signal for her that it was okay to cry.

Seungcheol let go of his hold on her and passed her to Wonwoo so he can replace him in comforting her. "I'll talk to security"

"You know it's not true right? Whatever they said" She heard Jeonghan say from behind. "We want you here with us." Vernon adds to the conversation. One-by-one the members added words if affirmation, enough to help Yeona dismiss the thoughts of whatever was thrown at her.

We're glad you debuted with us.

We wouldn't want anyone else to debut with us.

You deserve to be here.

No one else could have done a better job than you.

"We need you with us" Wonwoo added as he kissed to crown of her head.

From the corner of her eye, she could see her leader talking to tge security team and their manager.

She couldn't hear well but Seungcheol was asking to double security on her because he now realizes how serious the hate around her was going that it would lead to the point that people would harass her in public, where he also asked their manager to quickly contact their company to have someone deal with it and have someone take legal action on whoever harasses her next.

Once he had returned from his conversation, he returned back to the girl who was being held by Wonwoo. "Yeona I'm so sorry I let this happen" Seungcheol told the younger member.

The 96 liner let go of his hold but still stood close enough, "Oppa, it's not your fault. Don't say sorry"

"I still should've watch out for you out there, I should've kept an eye op-" his rumbling was stopped by her hand touching his shoulder. "Stop beating yourself up over something you didn't know would happen. It was scary but I'm okay now."

"I'll protect you better from now on" He promised

She continued talking "You're doing a great job already"

Not without you (part 1)

Summery: Seungcheol is called for a meeting where he learns some shocking news that could change everything.

Year: 2014

Note: My first writing for my Seventeen oc's. The girls aren't in this chapter but they are mentioned and make a small appearance at the end. I know I'm not the best writer so please bear with me. I would really appreciate some feedback and comments. I hope you enjoy :)

Seventeen oc's Masterlist

To say Choi Seungcheol was nervous was an understatement. Heck, he thought he might just faint as he made his way to Mr Han's office. The CEO of Pledis Entertainment, this must be important if he wanted to meet with him, but the thing that threw Seungcheol off was that he was called to this meeting alone, without Haerim.

They had shared confused looks when a staff member came to the training room and told Seungcheol that Mr Han wanted to see him. Haerim asked if they were sure the CEO didn't want to see her too, but the staff confirmed that he only asked for Seungcheol. This seemed unusual to them. Usually when they were called for meetings they went together, since they were both leaders of Seventeen. Seungcheol was bewildered as to why Haerim wasn't wanted for this meeting. What could they possibly say that they don't want her to know? This thought made another wave of nervousness wash over Seungcheol. He was trying hard not to overthink the situation but the closer he got to the office the more anxious he became.

So many 'what it's' were going trough his head as he knocked on the door. Hearing a voice telling him to come in, he took a deep breath to calm himself down before entering the room. He was met with the CEO of Pledis, who sent him a kind smile and motioned for him to take a seat in front of the desk.

"I'm sure you're wondering why I called you here." Mr Han said after Seungcheol had sat down in front of him.

"Yes sir." Seungcheol answered shortly, hoping the CEO won't take too long to get to the point.

"I won't keep you long, I just wanted to talk to you about Project Seventeen. You are aware that Seventeen is intended to be a co-ed group?"

Seungcheol nodded. He had a bad feeling he knew where this was going.

"Through Project Seventeen we planed on debuting the top seventeen trainee's. We didn't think I would end up so.... unbalanced."

Unbalanced. That word didn't sit right with Seungcheol. It was true that they lost more female trainees resulting in a large gap between male and female members. He had to admit thirteen boys and four girls does seem like unfavorable numbers. But he never saw a problem with it and the members never complained. It's been this way for quite some time now and the girls got along with all the boys very well. They've even been living in the same dorm as the boys for over six months now without too much drama. Sure the male to female ratio was uneven but he wouldn't say they were unbalanced. Sighing, Mr Han continued.

"Nothings been decided yet but the board and I have been discussing removing the girls from the line up and debuting Seventeen as a boy group instead."

Wait, what? Seungcheol's heart sunk at the CEO's words. They're gonna kick the girls out?

"Why are you telling me this?" Seungcheol had a lot of questions. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. I seemed so absurd.

"Listen Seungcheol, I just wanted to let you know what we're talking about and that it could happen. You've all been working so hard and I didn't want to drop the news on you all so suddenly."

"Then why didn't you call Haerim in too? Shouldn't she know about this?" Seungcheol asked, getting a bit irritated by the whole situation.

"Yes but..." Mr. Han hesitated for a moment, seeming to look for the right words. "I think she would take it better if it came from you. We both know Haerim can be difficult sometimes."

Difficult. Another word that didn't sit right with Seungcheol. Yes, Haerim can be stubborn and a pain to work with sometimes but under all that is a good hearted leader who only wants the best for the team. Sure, leading the group with her had been challenging and they've argued more then a few times but over the past few years he's really got to know her and has become very fond of her. There's a lot of words he'd use to describe Haerim but difficult isn't one of them.

He couldn't remember what was said after that, mind and heart racing with thoughts of Haerim and the members. What if they decided it won't work with the girls after all? What would happen to them then? As Seungcheol made his way back to the training room, the more he thought about it the more it dawned on him what might really be happening. Mr. Han's words rang in his head. Unbalanced. Difficult. Intention. What exactly was the intention for Seventeen? Was it even the plan to debut a co-ed group from the beginning? Did they think they wouldn't notice when they stopped adding female trainees? Was it their plan to add more boys until the girls had dropped out completely then get rid of the few remaining? Was this whole thing just a set up to draw the publics interest? I didn't make sense to Seungcheol, who's frustration seemed to grow the more he thought about it.

Arriving back at the training room Seungcheol's eyes immediately went to the four girls in the room. Seohyun was sitting with Seungkwan and Chan, laughing at their jokes and watching the other members mess around. His eyes then traveled to Kyungmin, who was talking with Wonwoo, Myungho and Hansol in the corner. Then to Yejin standing with Seokmin, Mingyu and Joshua in the middle of the room. They seemed to be recreating a scene from a drama but he's learned not to question the antics of the members. His gaze then went to her, Haerim, standing with Soonyoung and Jihoon at the computer, going over a video of the routine they were learning. Soonyoung said something that made her laugh and even with the noise of all the teenagers in the room it was as if her laughter was all he could hear. The sound made is anger disappear but instead feelings of guilt took it's place. How was he going to tell her? She loved this group and knew she would be devastated to have to say goodbye. How could he tell her when she and the other girls worked so hard for their dream only to be kicked out like they didn't matter? Then the boys would continue like nothing happened? Like they were never here. No, he won't let that happen. He would prove it. They will prove that they can be strong no matter the difference between boys and girls. So the numbers aren't perfect but that doesn't mean they can't be.

"Is everything okay?" A voice asked from beside Seungcheol. Jeonghan, who had been watching the leader since he came in, saw the way his eyes moved over the girls and was beginning to worry something might be wrong. Turning to his friend, Seungcheol tried to give him a reassuring smile.

"It's fine." He said, turning back towards Haerim, watching as she practiced some dance moves with Soonyoung. "Everything's going to be okay."
