hii a few days ago (i think) you mentioned in the tags of one of the asks that you have some thoughts regarding the themes of bsd characters being pretty 👀👀 could you elaborate on that?
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING. I have very strong opinions on where skk and sskk place on the thematical prettiness scale so here you go. The fun part is that I am a radical beauty relativist which makes any judgement on appearance ultimately meaningless– because there's not such thing as universal beauty to me, only time and space susceptible beauty standards. Additionally, I don't think there's any significant distinction in their depictions, because Harukawa's art style is very beautiful and elegant and such applies to virtually every character with no notable difference. But like that's the whole point isn't it!! Because it's not about Chuuya being handsome or Dazai being prettier than Akutagawa per sé, as much as what those things represent in terms of symbolism in a story. Here's my personal headcanons (with the very much needed disclaimer that I feel attracted to men once every three months at best, so it really is all about the narrative and plot value their physical appearances hold more than like. actual valuations of their beauty):
Dazai is distinctively, remarkably beautiful. I mean, that part is pretty much canon, isn't it? He really is that kind of charming, charismatic presence that would make people turn back to look at him when crossing the street. But his beauty has some sort of distance and elusiveness to it– his features are classical and very conventionally beautiful in a way that makes him vaguely impersonal. Most importantly, his beauty is vastly intimidating. He is beautiful in a way that feels distant, out of reach, that makes people subconsciously uncomfortable. That only adds to his charisma (and having an easy game to manipulate people), as people will be immediately bewitched when someone as ethereal looking as Dazai shows the slightest sign of interest in them. He definitely looks older than he is.
Chuuya is a completely different deal! He's just as beautiful as Dazai, yet in a substantially different way. He's handsome due to a certain feeling of naturalness and unconstraint he has to him. He has that real and specific beauty of someone who's comfortable in their own skin, which is something genuinely pleasant to witness. His appearance is handsome and cool, but in such an effortless way that vastly adds to his appeal; he exudes confidence and freshness, he's passionate and lively and just someone to bask in the presence of. He can come off as intimidating, too, but to a slightly lesser extent than Dazai and in a way he's way more in control of, able to make people feel at ease if he wants to. Ultimately, to make a silly example, I fear Chuuya would have quite a bit of suitors (that he's only half aware of), while Dazai regretfully comes off too scary for most people.
(And I feel like someone's going to think “it shows that Op hasn't read Stormbringer 🙄🙄” and like. That much is true and irrefutable ahah. But I also like to think Chuuya's story was a gradual journey into accepting himself and feel comfortable in his body. I am a strong happy ending Chuuya supporter ///// )
Atsushi is beautiful in a very peculiar and unique way. He's the kind who, at first sight, one wouldn't find remarkably attractive at all, all his beauty being covered up by raggedness and a neglected appearance, and he wouldn't be spared a second look. And yet when that second look is spared, one would suddenly realize he's got bewitching, glistening eyes, a certain masculine pronunciation to his face that results very attractive, a toned figure, a stunning smile. And his beauty is the furthest that can be from Dazai's classical lineaments: it's unusual, and wild, but still strikingly gorgeus. The truest diamond in the rough. Atsushi's completely oblivious to it, btw– how could it be any differently with him! Moreover, it would be quite fitting if Atsushi's beauty was, too, one of the many contributing factors that trigger Akutagawa's feeling of minority.
Akutagawa isn't beautiful. This is the only take actively sustained by canon elements (besides from maybe Dazai being beautiful, but to a way lesser extent), and the canon judgement of his apparence is definitely not a flattering one: “a faint smile curled Akutagawa’s lips, slightly exposing the inside of his mouth, which was as red as blood” “Akutagawa’s smirk was colder than a snake’s, his breath more repulsive than a demon’s”. His skin is grey, and his eyes are bloodshot, and he coughs blood, and he definitely stinks– he's messy and rabid and unkept. Before everything else stands the fact that he has this sickly impression to him which makes him vaguely repulsive to whoever stumbles across him. But that's exactly everything Akutagawa is, isn't it!! His whole thing is being fundamentally unable to be loved– both because of things he controls and things he can't control, his unpleasant physical appearance falling in the second category. That's what I mean when I say characters' physical appearance is a fun tool to convey their core themes! The tragedy of Akutagawa's character being someone who constantly strives for being loved and yet is doomed by destiny to result repulsive to everyone nicely translates in him having unpleasant looks that make him ugly and unlovable.
And as little extra, pretending for a moment that I don't have Beast bias:
Beast Akutagawa being quite handsome. Not at Dazai or Chuuya's level, but people would casually consider him a beautiful man. Compared to his canon counterpart, he's got the same fire in his eyes, yet it's paired with a slightly healthier, less repulsive built, greater confidence in his stance, and a more - although far from being tidy - clean appearance, all contributing to make him fairly attractive. Besides, bonus prettiness points for the coolest outfit in the entirety of bsd only second to the Dark Era Dazai one in my very humble opinion...
Beast Atsushi is gorgeus in a way that makes him look almost noble, yet feels unsettlingly plastic-like: artificial, stiff, imposed. I've talked before about how his being kept and tidy is actually just another expression of the grip that Dazai has on his persona and psyche, who wraps, controls and manipulates every aspect of his being including his very appearance. He's got the same stunning strong lineaments, yet they're schooled to look far more distant and intimidating. I wonder if the kind eyes would stay the same... They probably don't shine as brightly as the canon Atsushi's ones.

CELESTE GENERAL DATING HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
bonus points if you're also an ultimate gambler
if you want, she'll bring you to her gamble nights and let you cheer her on from the side.
she'll also tell you about how she's always dreamt of living in a castle.
and if you're rich and you want to make her love you, well... buy her her own personal castle.
you're one of the lucky folk whom she trusts with her cat, grand bois chéri ludenburg.
if you both were to be sleeping in the same bed, you'd definitely cuddle.
but that's only if you guys fall asleep together.
some nights, you both would make jokes and giggle together and you guys would be giggling the whole night to early morning and end up waking up at 2 p.m or later.
that's okay though, celeste would defend you from ishimaru or anyone in general.
overprotective woman. she may not seem like it, but she can and will kick ass. hitting on her s/o? you're getting your ass kicked. planning on assassinating her s/o? you're gonna be the one getting killed.
i feel like you guys would create a tiktok account just to do stupid stuff on there... but that's for you guys to decide.
she'd randomly hug you from behind, anytime, anywhere.
if you don't want any toppings or a part of your food, such as not wanting onions or pickles on your burger, she'll gladly eat them for you.
there's a quiet, quaint café her and you go to everyday after school/work.
whenever you guys are bored, you'd play old, childhood games like tag or hide and seek.
sorry if it's short...

can i get a uhhhhhhhh datekou swimming headcanons? can or cannot, swimming vs diving vs just floating around, how they do it, pool behaviours, beach behaviours, lake behaviours, river behaviours, anything you have is fine, for the whole team btw, please and thank you 🍪
anon i want you to know this is probably the most random most specific ask i have ever gotten and that makes it extremely funny thank you
also i feel like i need to add the quick disclaimer that i can't swim nor do i frequently visit rivers and lakes so like. i am VERY much out of my depth here (but i do love the beach!)
okay first let's divide between who can or cannot swim
can swim: moniwa, futakuchi, nametsu, aone, obara, sakunami, kamasaki (kamasaki and futakuchi will IMMEDIATELY start a race and will rope entire strangers into it) cannot swim but can at least float: onagawa, sasaya, fukiage only knows how to doggy paddle: koganegawa
a beach trip would be SO intensely chaotic btw the logistics are a fucking nightmare
if they took the train/bus they'd take up half the space. they'd need to take two separate cars bc there are eleven of them. i guess they COULD take whatever van it is they use to get to away games but who in the world is going to drive them, oiwake??? no way in hell they give that man enough migraines DURING school he does NOT wish to be tortured outside of it
(is what he says. but he loves this team and he cares about this team and he tells them that they deserve a break, so why not? it won't stop him from grumbling about needing to take like five cans of coffee with him tho)
oiwake immediately regrets his decision when futakuchi rolls up in oversized sunglasses, one of those big floppy straw hats, and an open hawaiian shirt over a tank top that says "sun's out buns out" a la terribly translated english misprints. futakuchi has no idea what it means
aone has a matching tank top too and on the other hand he DOES know what it says he's just praying that nobody asks him because he has no idea how he's going to explain it
i can see onagawa just being the type of guy who sits and chills under the umbrella with a book and occasionally wanders off to get food, especially shaved ice
he attracts a lot of attention anyways bc his swim trunks look like they belong on the floor of an american retro-style arcade (shoutout to @prick-love-for-pricking for that)
he DOES get up to join the others in dunking futakuchi underwater after sakunami called it a "team bonding exercise"
everyone worries about sakunami btw because "oh my god what if he falls down and gets washed away WHAT IF HE DROWNS WHEN WE'RE NOT LOOKING HE COULD LITERALLY GET KNOCKED OVER BY A WAVE"
futakuchi suggests getting a balloon and tying it around sakunami's wrist like that one picture of the turtle walking around the office or whatever it was
they don't do this but moniwa DOES get a pair of horrifically neon-orange sunglasses and makes sakunami wear them on his head like some kind of beacon
kogane is constantly sending pictures to his fellow first-year mock sports camp club btw and most of the others won't admit it but they are SUPER jealous
kamasaki, while everyone is lounging in the ocean: "so . . . . have any of you guys seen jaws?" futakuchi: "if you don't shut up right now i WILL drown you"
when aone gets tired of the ocean he recruits anyone on land to build a sand castle with him and somehow ends up roping, like, five little kids into helping him build the ultimate sand fortress
so he ends up with obara, kogane, nametsu, and oiwake and a little army of five-to-seven-year-olds
those same kids BEG to play volleyball with everyone once they hear that they're a team btw
so everyone - third years and nametsu included - divides into teams of littles vs high schoolers and ask oiwake to keep score
(the little kids are SUPER impressed with sakunami. one of them tells sakunami that they want to be a libero just like him and sakunami doesn't cry, exactly, but it's a close thing)
they keep rotating people in and out and across teams so that aone is on team a one match then switches with fukiage on team b for the next and so on and so forth and honestly who even cares about who's winning or losing when they're all having so much fun?
they fall asleep on the ride home, all curled up on each other and heads resting on shoulders and all that. oiwake wishes he had his hands free to take a picture, but oh well. some memories are better off swept away with the moment.

Captain's Log: been a couple minutes
hi. quick update. not dead. just had a psychotic episode nd was real fuckin freaked out bcuz of th blinding paranoia and all the other everythings for a couple months, there. i needed to take a break from tumblr for my own mental health, bcuz i was just... it just. got to be All Too Much, and when that damn movie dropped on top of it all, especially, but-- i digress.
when i get scared, i hide. so. i took a break. because every time i logged onto tumblr, i would just purposefully spend hours looking at shit that i Knew would be emotionally distressing at best and actively triggering at worst--Do Not Do This, btw. shock, horror, surprise, CapCap, but yes, self-harm does in fact do harm to oneself--and it has largely been a long two months shivering in delusional-terrified-prey-animal-mode under a metaphorical fucking rock in the meantime... but, that said, i do still apologize to those of you who i made worry, going dead silent like that.
ep's over now. the time away was... good for me, i think. ultimately.
even as odd as it is, as a result of it, to see the post-movie sm2099-sphere, and watch from the outside the effects of my own whale-fall as it ripples through that little space that used to just be mine to bear for so long, for the most part. funny little quiet echoes of my own ego and thumbprints i can only recognize because i see them on my own hands every day, and then idly kinda wonder if i deserve to even have had that kind of impact in the first place. the earnest sincerity of that kind of love frightens and flatters and completely, utterly, melts and destroys me, entire. it is sweet to be acknowledged. it is perplexing to Exist outside of myself, and be praised for it.
..and it is amusing, sometimes, when i can occasionally tell that someone has just Sparknotes-ed from my fic instead of reading the comics because they misinterpreted one of the Jokey-Jokes and/or My Headcanons in there as actual 100-percent comic canon, lol (it's happened more often than you'd think?? im no snitch but i SWEAR im not making this up. im autistic i love 2 Recognize Patterns Across Multiple Bodies of Text 4 fun).
i don't know if i'm quite ready to be Back, yet. but. tonight, i am okay. and i Will Be okay, in the days to come, as well. things are hard now, but they will not always be.
so. i'll see you later, whenever that is. i hope the future is kind to you. we'll get there together, even if it isn't.

okay okay okay i think about pregnant centaurs a lot (this is related to the "human half horse half" ask btw)
I think, in my personal opinion, they're pregnant in the human part for around a third of the pregnancy, then once the baby reaches a certain size (or about when the parent is looking full-term), they have a half-labor where the baby moves down to the horse part for the remainder of the pregnancy since centaur babies have gotta get beeeg.
Whadda we think about this? It's my headcanon but what are your thoughts?
Tumblr media
(putting these together for ease of answering)
So I'm not personally averse to this, but I do have issues with it biologically and it ultimately comes down to just... the sheer size of a centaur and how much the embryo/fetus/baby and even the sperm/eggs have to shift around the body.
The impregnation itself doesn't really... make sense. There isn't a place for procreation to take place on the human part of the centaur, and the sperm would have to travel a VERY long way to end up in the human half of the centaur.
Now I know the movement of the baby from one womb to the other is a part of the apeal for some people, but the amount of effort it would take for a centaur to move a baby from the top half of them to the bottom would be about as hard if not HARDER than giving birth itself because of how long the transferal canal would have to be. (it would increase the likelihood for complications A LOT.)
In addition, and the point I think everyone neglects the most, the body has a LOT more organs, muscles, and just general body processes it has to deal with than just producing offspring and all of that also takes up space and would have to make way.
That all being said I am not the end all be all authority for monster preg, and don't le tmy oppinions stop you from having fun! Go preg up some 'taurs!!!

about Romantic Killer (BIG SPOILERS)
ok i just finished watching Romantic Killer and it's so good wtf????????? the plot developed so much better than i was expecting at first?????? Anzu is such a good character and such a good friend????? so i need to ramble about it bare with me for a moment
the show is hilarious and i love how exaggerated the funny expressions are, but it also has some rly serious part damn im legit impressed (Anzu and Kazuki's first hug kinda got me tearing up ngl)
each of the characters is slowly developed so well. like damn. Kazuki's story is specially detailed and it caught me by surprise when they showed the flashbacks of the first episodes after we found out why he became so distant and conscious of people and everything made so much sense. and he felt so realistic in the way he reacted, his struggle to open up and every single time he started feeling anxious and panicking in public was so well done (and i wanted to take him away from the crowd and pat his head every time ugh T_T). i was just slightly dissapointed that right on the last episode he admited that he started crushing on Anzu bc after the entire season of them just being an amazing duo of friends i was so hopeful we would finally get a 'love interest' turned only best friend (bc lets admit its not like she doesnt already have enough ppl interested in her without Kazuki being one of them too). bc i was enjoying headcanoning him as aroace as i was watching :') oh well. maybe if it ends up not having a s2 i can pretend he realized he wasnt in love and he just loves her platonically a lot! if they dont give me the aroace boy i will rip it from their cold dead hands! :D
and i loved the plot twist on how Junta was actually her true childhood friend all along and she took so long to realize... his feelings were totally real awwwww and he is really a sweetheart, i like the childhood friend trope! buuuut i gotta admit im just living for the huge crush Makoto clearly has on Junta. boyo isn't hiding it very well. that scene when Makoto holds Saki's hand and takes her away from the triggering situation? that was gay x lesbian solidarity right there !
and Saki OH MY GOD SAKI. the episode focused on showing how the two of them became friends and how important Anzu is to her and the way she has always defended her and what Saki went through oh god... her story was so realistic and seeing her reaction seeing that stupid ass ex was such a realistic depiction of a kind of trauma like that. she's such a good character im so happy they developed her so well and didnt make her just an irrelevant school friend character!!! (also she's a lesbian i am not taking criticism- /hj)
i need to mention how Anzu is absolutely bisexual btw. her reaction to meeting Kazuki's sister? she literally straight up said "i'll fall for her" c'mon
and Riri!!! omg!!!! little genderfluid chaos gremlin!!!!!!!! i was so so happy that not only Anzu girbossed her way to getting them out of their punishment but she got them to permanently live on the human world AND officially made them one of the love interests??? ULTIMATE GIRLBOSS MOVE Anzu i love you so much dear. so ngl i lowkey would like seeing Anzu end up with Riri/Rio the most ksjefhskdjf badass girl x genderfluid gremlin??? so much potential cmon they literally were punished for breaking magic rules bc they care too much about Anzu that's so fucking cute skjfhsdf
and Hijiri!!!!! from a little annoying rich bastard to a little just slightly annoying tsundere rich baby!!! i really like that he's interested in her and all but ultimately he's just there working and helping her out a lot like he becomes genuinely a great friend??
so yeah. as one can tell from the immense number of written words here i have liked this anime quite a lot. binged it in a day, all at once, no regrets. i'll be happy if there's a 2nd season if it is as good as this 1st one, bc this was amazing! so glad i decided to give it a chance <3 there's even more things i could talk about here but i dont wanna write a novel chapter of a post so i'll stop here LMAO
but really, if you're into comedy, romance and some nice character development, you won't regret giving Romantic Killer a chance :)

⊱ ────── {.⋅ yugioh bpd hcs ⋅.} ───── ⊰
hi! this post will consists mainly of duel monsters characters, i may do this in parts should people not attack me over my headcanons JDSK please do not attack me i am very sensitive and frail and just wanna share my hcs i will also explain why i think this character has bpd! btw, bpd means borderline personality disorder in this case! ALSO ANOTHER THING I NEVER READ THE MANGA SO PLS DONT JUDGE ME FOR MISSING STUFF OR ANYTHING
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
joey wheeler: i think joey having bpd works really well for him. often times, someone with people with have a favorite person (or multiple), which are people that act like their anchor. serenity is definitely joey's favorite person and a lot of the times, he relies on her for strength and support (which is okay)! yes, he is her older brother so it is his job to worry and i understand that, but i can also see that joey is quick to worry and quick to anger when it is about her. he's incredibly protective of her and he constantly fears losing her. due to joey's past where his parents divorced and ultimately separated serenity and joey, i would like to think that this would've developed into bpd from the severe abandonment issues that joey would have. i do not read the manga so i do not know if joey's father is really mentioned, but from the anime, i've gathered that his pops really isn't around much either. joey just seems like a recipe for a character with bpd from my personal opinion.
mai valentine: mai is another character that i believe bpd works really well for. she's gone through so much and struggles with attachment to people. she's quick to push people away when she's hurt, and it appears she's quick to result to anger and anguish when something happens (ex: joey not admitting that he saw mai as his friend in the duel between her and marik). despite appearing confident, i also believe mai struggles a lot with self esteem, and doesn't actually think that she's the boss bitch that she is. she shields herself from as much pain as possible, and tries to avoid making friends to avoid getting hurt. i think if she had a favorite person, then the likely person for that would be joey. another thing is that when her mind got sent to the shadow realm by marik, her worst fear was being abandoned and forgotten by her friends. abandonment is a very recurring theme in borderline personality disorder, and joey appears to be her favorite person as seen multiple times in the anime.
seto & mokuba kaiba: i think both kaiba brothers have bpd! i think mokuba may have it more severely compared to seto, though. the two of them only had each other when they were kids, and seto took up most of the hardships since he is the older sibling, which i think would develop into its own kind of trauma. i'm not an expert though. as for mokuba, i think his fear of abandonment and his strong attachment to seto is a recipe for bpd. in several scenes of the anime, i've noticed mokuba fears being abandoned, and he especially fears being separate from seto. the two of them both hate being separated, and seto loses all rationality the moment mokuba is put in any danger (again, i'm aware that as the older brother, he has to take care of mokuba but let me have my hcs)! numerous times do these two get separated, and the other always throws caution to the wind to help their sibling. seto and mokuba are definitely each other's favorite person. even the slightest thing that's off can set one of them off.
marik ishtar: marik definitely is bpd-like, in my opinion. his entire dark side was put at bay because of odion! i think odion would be marik's favorite person, and ultimately, he was marik's anchor. odion protected marik throughout marik's entire life, and went as far as to protect marik from the truth. i feel like marik would always prefer odion to anyone else, and that he'd jump at any chance to spend time with odion. the two are very close and that much is clear from the way the anime portrays them. when odion goes into a coma after the winged dragon of ra attacked him, marik snapped and his dark side became loose. odion was marik's anchor, and marik feared him getting hurt or just flat out losing him. besides the favorite person stuff, marik seems quick to overthink as well as quick to anger, which are other symptoms of bpd.
maximilian pegasus: bro spent his entire life fixated on doing everything he could to bring back his fiance/wife. if that isn't bpdcore then idk what it is LMAO also i recognize the fact that he could just be a grieving husband/fiance, but idc!! if you're still reading my hcs you either agree with me or you're at least interested (or just reading to be a hater but i like to think you're not DJSK) anyway maximilian's whole life's work was dedicated to his partner and he missed her so damn much. the fact he hasn't even really healed from her death if at all also works for bpd. when people with bpd lose their favorite person in any way (it is different for every bpd btw!!), they are likely to have a meltdown and it takes even longer to heal from wounds like that. i have lost my favorite person once before (not from death but yknow, they left), and it is an agonizing experience and it takes even longer to heal from. this is shown from the fact maximilian hasn't healed, and was so desperate to bring his partner back from the dead. he is overwhelmed with distraught when he loses to yugi and feels like he's failed her again. idk he just feels like he'd have bpd.
serenity wheeler: are you guys shocked she's on this list LMAO for the similar reasons if not the same as joey, i think she'd also have bpd. i think her favorite person is joey, but i also think she's likely to have tristan and maybe even duke as her favorite people along with joey. she relies on them to keep her afloat, and they are like her anchor when she fears turmoil. like joey, serenity fears being separated from her loved ones, and i think she'd intensely fear abandonment because of being separated from joey when they were younger after their parents divorce. she's quick to breakdown and cry when things go south (she just like me fr fr). i also think her interactions with tristan and joey during the duel with the big five member says a lot. tristan was the one keeping her calm and relaxed but the moment he took the hit for her and lost the duel, she lost her composure and faltered. duke couldn't get her to calm down but when joey arrived, she was able to calm down and defeat the big five member with duke's help. i think the way tristan and joey helped calm her down shows that only certain people can help her relax, so i think that joey and tristan are her favorite people and she finds most safety and sanctuary with them. when one of them is in danger, she loses composure entirely and its hard to calm her down unless you're one of her favorite people.
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
those are my current yugioh bpd hcs for now! i'm sure there will be more but i don't wanna get annoying LMAO /hj
also keep in mind that these hcs are based off many of my own personal experiences with friendships and how i think the characters would be with their bpd. everyone who has bpd do have differences, tho! no two people are the same and i think that's a given
pls don't share hate comments, i do not read the manga so my hcs are based solely off interactions in the anime. if you don't like my hcs then pls just ignore this entire post SJDHJIK

for the meme: bethany and carver hawke! :D
MY SPECIAL ANGELS <3 <3
Carver:
First impression: Okay, so I was active on the Bioware forums well before DA2's release and this actually inspired me to see what old posts I could dig up (do not recommend btw). I can officially find documentation of me being EMBARRASSINGLY thirsty as far back as November 2010. I wrote a drabble on the forum shipping him with my Tabris before the game released, lol, so ultimately my first impression (i.e, gonna latch on immediately) stuck. I did assume he was going to be a lot sweeter/less prickly/honestly blander than he turned out to be. I was expecting more of a himbo.
Impression now: He's my most special boy. Better than what I'd expected, which was a pleasant surprise. He is so full of conflict all the time, and I love it. He is delightfully prickly and also a big dumb jock and it’s the best.
Favorite moment: The scene where Carver and Hawke argue about Bethany stands out as one of my favorite video game moments, period. It was a moment that just reflected Carver's character so well: he's rash and temperamental, and he's hurting so badly as he struggles to find a new path for himself and cope with Bethany's death, he feels trapped and is stifling, he still loves his family fiercely, etc.
Idea for a story: I am actually getting around to writing all of my ideas! I finished my first Warden Carver/Warden Surana fanfic (shameless plug Never Free) which is mostly about an assassination plot against my Surana but also fills in the gaps of what Carver was up to during Act 2 of DA2, which I always love to think about. I've also always wanted to expand upon the Legacy DLC and give Hawke and Carver more chances to talk about their parents and Bethany (which I am also finishing up now: Failed Attempts at Simpler Lives shameless plug #2). I've ALSO always wanted to write about what happens to him in the immediate aftermath of Dragon Age 2, and how he reacts to finding out that Hawke was left in the Fade in Inquisition. I WILL GET THERE.
Unpopular opinion: Hmm, well, I hate the templar path for him? I've come up with better reasons to justify my dislike, but the real reason is that my taste for tragedy has weird limits and it makes me too sad to think that he gets addicted to lyrium. I don't really know how unpopular that is, though. Maybe a better answer is that my boy is BEEFY. He is built like a brick shithouse, and I hate when people draw him too lean.
Favorite relationship: His relationship to Hawke is the easy canon answer. She drives him crazy, she's irritating as hell, she's his best friend, he looks to her for leadership, he wants to shove her into a mud puddle, he would tear apart a burning city to make sure she's safe. Shipwise, obviously, it's my personal pet ship which is Carver hooking up with the Hero of Ferelden and Surana specifically. He HAS to get with a mage, he just HAS to, it's too delicious.
Favorite headcanon: He's incredibly Fade-sensitive, though he can't use magic directly. He can feel the Fade being manipulated around him and how in ways that most non-mages really can't fathom. For example, he can tell when Hawke is about to throw a fireball and he needs to get the hell out of the way versus she's about to cast a buff on him. He just attributes this to a lifetime of training with a mage father and two mage siblings rather than any innate ability. When it's pointed out to him that, no, this is pretty unusual, he just kinda scoffs and says anybody could figure it out if they tried hard enough.
Bethany:
First impression: Unfortunately I can't trace my Bethany opinions back to a series of embarrassing forum posts in 2010/2011. I think my first impression is what everyone's is: that Bethany is a sweetheart baby sister, a pure cinnamon roll.
Impression now: She's more complicated than the above. She's still a ray of sunshine, still kind and thoughtful, but she also carries so much anger and guilt. She feels just as trapped in a life she doesn't want as Carver does. Even more so, because at least Carver can hope to escape his circumstances: Bethany can't stop being a mage.
Favorite moment: ALL of her banters with Isabela. I adore their relationship more than anything.
Idea for a story: I wouldn't mind a story about her leaving Kirkwall after DA2 and ending up in Ferelden with the rebel mages. I would REALLY love a story where she meets a Ferelden noble (maybe a Cousland Warden?) who just falls hopelessly and madly in love with her and ultimately Bethany becomes a teyrna or arlessa or something. Give my girl the fairy tale she used to read about as a lonely child in Lothering.
Unpopular opinion: I can’t think of anything direct, though maybe my preference for a Mage Hawke worldstate (which means Bethany dies) could count?
Favorite relationship: The relationship between the twins haunts the narrative, to me at least. I picture each twin considering the other their better half and something irreplaceable is missing once they're gone. I am also a little bit obsessed with Bethany/Isabela ever since the banter that Isabela sends her naughty books in the Circle.
Favorite headcanon: That she allows herself to be caught and taken to the Circle. She surely would have heard that Bartrand's expedition returned to the city and probably believed Hawke to be dead. In a world where Hawke isn't a mage, Bethany has spent her whole life feeling guilty for what her family has gone through to protect her. Then both of her siblings die, and taking care of Leandra has fallen onto Bethany's shoulders. I think she has enough quiet self-loathing to believe that the best way to keep her mother safe is to remove the riskiest, most volatile thing from her life: Bethany herself. Plus Bethany is just tired of running, tired of hiding, and tired of feeling so very alone.

Childe headcanons pt 2
they're yoinked from my fic, so they're written a certain way
featuring PTSD, selective self-awareness mixed with self-contradiction, mild alcohol use, referenced underage drinking, guesses about Snezhnaya based on Russian culture, and shippy simping for the Traveler (I unspecified which Traveler, so you can imagine it's Lumine or Aether)
(btw I'm not about to donutsteel any of this lol, by all means use the ideas if you like them!)
————————————
He has no hangups about being naked in front of [people], provided they don't have an issue with it. Nudity is relatively normalized in Snezhnaya thanks to ice swimming and the banya.
————————————
Smiling, he drops a sashimi slice and crouches slowly so as not to startle the cat. Not that the cat was at all hesitant about sitting on his shoe this morning! He just feels, again, like his presence should intimidate the cat as much as it intimidates Fatui subordinates. Again, he reminds himself that animals just don't know any better. For that, he counts himself lucky.
[The cat] eats the second piece of sashimi from his hand. The third, too, and when he ventures to pet the bony arch of its back, it doesn't even flinch.
Why am I bothering with this?... This has nothing to do with getting stronger. I have this precious time away from the bank to do whatever I want, and this is how I'm spending it?
He searches for an excuse. He tries to glue together some prattle about an obligation for a warrior to respect the natural hunters of the world and learn from their primal pursuit of survival. It doesn't sound convincing even in his head.
The unavoidable truth is that this is what he wants to be doing right now.
It's hard to accept that. (Never mind that he often does things that have nothing to do with his ultimate goal.) It somehow makes him aware of how much he's checking that his guard is up: listening to the sounds around him, watching the shadows in his peripheral vision in case a new shadow looms in the lanternlight behind him, holding in mind the fastest ways out of this area, inventorying the advantages and disadvantages he currently has... That's reassuring on the one hand but on the other hand it reminds him why he ought to be more vigilant. He's not the strongest warrior in the world yet, and the necessity of his own lies today was proof that that weakness remains a liability despite how far he's already risen.
What he would call situational awareness submerges him gradually, then all at once. He gladly sinks.
He examines every sound and everything he can see, one by one, cataloguing what is normal so that he'll notice if anything changes. Rehearses in his mind his best options for responding to an attack if one came right now. He breathes slow and shallow to be silent—something he's more practiced at than anyone would expect—and stills his body, so that he might go unnoticed, be overlooked, and gain the element of surprise.
He measures some of the information around him by his heartbeats. They're accelerated but steady. Now that nearly all possibilities of being caught off guard have been prepared for, he feels a meditative serenity. His heart is only beating fast because it, too, has to be ready.
Something changes. All of his attention instantly focuses on it. Threat? No, it was already there and it's just a cat. It could be eliminated in no more than one second with minimal risk. Safe either way. Soft fuzz nuzzling his hand, whiskers tickling, sandpaper tongue. Safe.
Childe emerges from the familiar state. He's always more tired after than before, yet girded with clarity and reassured. Sometimes it's like a reset. Like turning over a snowglobe: the fake snow whirls, falls, and then settles once more. Usually it lasts much longer when he's alone, though. He looks down at the cat licking his hand.
————————————
He visits the Amenoma bladesmithy and, merely via open interest and enthusiasm, obtains a long talk from the forge master on Inazuman styles of making, testing, and wielding blades. He doesn't mention to the old smith that he once made a Hydro copy of a katana shown to him by another Fatuus, and that he can now guess the origins of that katana.
————————————
His next stop is Yae Publishing. In his search for books to send home, he takes his time browsing and skimming, making sure his younger siblings won't receive any unpleasant surprises. No stories where the dog dies. Who does that in a book for children? Probably someone like Arlecchino, he grouses.
Finding perfect gifts for his family is a point of principle and pride. Nothing ill-considered can be allowed to reach their hands. As long as he has any agency in the matter, he will not disappoint the last three people he hasn't yet. Someday he will, of course: someday his younger brothers and sister will learn he's been lying to them. Following that day, their love and their joyful greetings will wither, replaced by yet more wary glances and awkward silences whenever he visits. But until then...
————————————
I just want to...get my hands on [the Traveler]. If I attained the level of competence that would allow me to disarm [them], and the fight was reduced to its simplest form, testing the training of our bodies and minds against one another directly by just wrestling and grappling... That would be quite something, wouldn't it. Though [they]'d have to disarm me as well and I'm not sure that's even possible. Ohh but if anyone could do it it'd be [them]. [They]'d have to get my Vision and my Delusion. [They]'d have to get through every form of defense I have.
Eagerly he tries to imagine how it could be done. Anticipating his own weaknesses (in combat) and the possible exploitations of them (in combat) is so important that both meanings of 'anticipating' are applicable.
But he keeps getting sidetracked by an image of [the Traveler] pinning him to the ground. Weaponless, Visionless, Delusionless, too spent to risk transforming. Helpless. Maybe [the Traveler] would use Geo to pin him. There is nothing Childe can snatch away from [the Traveler] that would prevent [them] from using the elements.
————————————
The Traveler never introduced [themself] to Childe, nor [were they] introduced by Paimon. When Childe intercepted [them] fleeing the Millelith, he already knew [their] name from intel and he used it without hesitation. There was no time for the Traveler and Paimon to question it. Later, on a boat to Snezhnaya to report back after all was said and done, he decided he would never again address [them] by name unless and until he earned that right by surpassing [them].
He'd slipped up once, sort of, when thanking the Traveler for seeing Teucer safely through Liyue. But it was, as he said, his sincerest thanks, so it didn't feel right to avoid [their] name like usual.
————————————
Maybe how Xinyan called him 'brother' and he instantly started thinking of her like a sister? Hey, he lied to her just like he lies to his real siblings. His feeling of verisimilitude on that point isn't lessened by the fact Paimon started the lie this time. He went along with it and never really corrected it. Xinyan still thinks he's an adventurer from Mondstadt who had nothing whatsoever to do with her home city nearly getting destroyed.
Let it never be said, by me, that battle is the only thing I'm great at. I'm also great at going along with other people's plans, heh. And that's fine. It gets me into the center of chaos. Whether I'm a pawn in a game, an actor in a play, or simply a weapon, it all serves my goals in the end. That's the truth and it always puts him at ease.
————————————
Ahh, who do I think I'm kidding here. I've always preached a far greater clarity of purpose than I've practiced... If any of this is owed to the Onmyou Chamber, it's that the bliss of those six days of uncommon purity allowed me to forget that. To forget one's own fallibility is...the kind of indulgence I really can't afford.
————————————
He's very pleased with himself for setting up this surprise dinner. But more than that, in the brief moment between hearing the Traveler's voice and seeing [them], he's filled with a joy the likes of which he rarely finds outside of battle. Returning was the right idea, his heart assures him, and any possible objection from any other quarter is drowned in the flood of that joy.
[...]
And there's that feeling Childe got before when the Traveler smiled at him and because of him. He'd all but forgotten what it felt like. With this warmth swelling in his chest, he can't understand how he could ever forget. Only a few days and he could no longer recall it the way it really was? That doesn't seem right. But here it is, and there [they are]. "Of course!" he replies, performing confidence without even trying. It comes naturally—more so than usual—with his mood being so elevated and his doubts vanishing into the distance.
————————————
[...] and Xingqiu's name is ringing a bell. Cogs rotate in Childe's mind while he checks the bread and speaks over his shoulder.
[...]
Intel reports? No, business papers... Childe is content to take a rain check on sparring. "It wasn't necessarily tomorrow I had in mind anyway, and certainly not tonight," he says cheerfully. ...Ah! The Feiyun Commerce Guild. Xingqiu is...one of the heirs in the clan that heads it? Yes. Inevitably they've had interactions with the Bank. Hmm.
————————————
Having Ekaterina listen in on the Traveler's conversation at the Bubu Pharmacy wasn't something he enjoyed; he's not about to go out of his way to repeat that sort of thing.
Though, if someone happened to have an interesting conversation too near wherever he might happen to be, he wouldn't hurry to leave.
————————————
Dinner goes smoothly enough with everyone having food and combat to talk about. [The Traveler] vigilantly steers their discussions of the latter into benign technicalities and away from murder. It's easy to spark long debates over things like the finer points of how a specific weapon should be maintained, or how much the smithing methods really matter, or whether prototype ultra-mechanized crossbows coming out of Fontaine are any good. But even in those discussions [they have] to be on guard against Childe's tendency to digress into dangerous territory.
[They resort] to trying to signal at Childe to change the subject. Eyebrow shenanigans prove ineffective, but lightly kicking Childe's boot with [their] shoe works. The length of Childe's legs makes up for the shortness of [theirs]; [they don't] even have to slouch down to reach.
[...]
The first time the Traveler kicked him under the table—if that tap he barely felt through his boot could be called a kick—Childe didn't know why [they] did it, but it made him forget what he was talking about. The second time, he realized the Traveler was trying to change the subject. It wasn't until the fourth time that he saw the commonality between the subjects the Traveler was trying to avoid. He kept getting those nudges throughout dinner though, because again and again he dove into the deep end of his favorite subjects without thinking. Rather than shoot the Traveler any kind of look in response, whether they'd have been sulky or apologetic or otherwise, he did [them] the favor of his best efforts to make the interruptions seem natural.
————————————
Childe flicks his hands and the water flies off into suspended droplets before falling neatly into the sink.
————————————
"Well, have you ever been to the Chasm in Liyue?"
"Oh yes, I've snuck in a couple of times for work. I've even been underground, albeit not far."
"How'd you get down there with the seal still active?"
Childe winks. "Fatui secrets."
————————————
[They carefully pick] up the jacket to have a rarefied closer inspection, studying its various metal accessories and dangling decorations. [They] can't quite tell whether any of them are 'decorations' in the military sense. Altogether, it's rather heavy, at least compared to the light-weight attire [they prefer for themself]. The fabric isn't as stiff as it looked, though. The only part of it that seems to denote Childe's status as a Harbinger is not part of it: Signora had a cape or cloak with the same colors and ornamentation as Childe's sash, and Scaramouche had something similar attached to his belt that [the Traveler] never got a good look at.
Childe leans against the other end of the counter with his hands resting on its edge, watching the Traveler examine his jacket. He hasn't taken the time or acquired the supplies to sew up the rips yet. He should, or else they might get bigger. Then again, he can just have it replaced. It's pretty typical of the two very different lives he's lived to recommend polar-opposite actions to him.
————————————
The Traveler had thought he might not come back? Did [they] believe anything Childe said? Ever?
Will [they] ever take me at my word? Hah, why should [they]. [They know] how I lie to the people I love the most.
————————————
Childe laughs. It's a strong and pure sound, unlike his last one. It's the opposite of the type of laugh [the Traveler] has heard most often from him: the slightly manic one that ends sounding like he's dying or about to cry.
————————————
Being around the Traveler is a bucking horseride of highs and lows, but at least it's never boring. And, despite Childe being far more inclined to dwell on lows than he'd ever admit to anyone, the highs are convincing him it's all worth it. All of it, all the way back to the original events that set him on the path where he'd meet the Traveler. He started thinking that way at such an early point in their friendship that even he himself looks back on it as somewhat irrational.
————————————
His way of being a middle child, with three older siblings and three younger, was to compete with the older ones on responsibility. It got him some attention and praise, and if his help was taken for granted more often than not, he still got to monopolize his father's attention for long hours when they went ice fishing, and that wasn't always unrelated. He'd had a very comfortable niche in his family, in hindsight, and because of his timid nature back then, he was never a rebellious teenager. Until he was.
————————————
The surface [of his mask] is the slightest bit glossy, resembling metal. But fire is commonplace in combat, whether against element-touched monsters, Vision wielders, or just a normal human with a torch. Ceramic can be highly temperature-resistant, whereas having metal against one's bare skin is a liability when fire enters the equation.
The mask's design was left up to him. He went with something that evokes his Foul Legacy form. Of course, there typically weren't mirrors sitting around on a battlefield, and when there were, it was inside a building where transforming would only cause him problems. But, he wields Hydro. He's seen himself in water's reflections. He saw the Devouring Deep reflected in pools of blood the first time he succeeded in transforming.
The mask's craftsmanship was masterful. Light weight, fine edges, flawless glaze. Anything custom-made for a Harbinger had to be the best.
————————————
The reason that Fatui wielders of Delusions must all wear masks isn't one he understands well, but it's supposed to reduce the side effects. It doesn't cost him any fun to wear it, so he never had any objection. It limits his field of view, yes, but that just adds a small margin of challenge. As he retested a few days ago, even fighting with his eyes closed isn't what he'd call difficult; people make all kinds of noise as they move.
————————————
Back home, shoes are always taken off and slippers put on, but he's seen no slippers here. It makes sense: Snezhnaya's floors are cold and these aren't. There's something to be said for the role of culture in such things, of course. As he discovered in Liyue's traditions, it's not just about necessity.
————————————
It's time for blini. To save time he'll have to use unyeasted batter. That's fine. First, he browses the few bottles of alcohol the Traveler has on hand. He doesn't expect to find vodka, simply because it's not as popular outside of Snezhnaya as within, but there it is: one bottle, previously opened but almost full. Probably used for cooking. That's what he's going to use it for, too—just not in the same way.
The only way to cook authentic Snezhnayan food is while tipsy on vodka. That's what his babushka used to say, and who is he to argue?
He pours himself a glass of vodka and a glass of water. As he takes his time getting the ingredients and dishes together, he sips liberally from both.
Among the Fatui he was always presumed to be a lightweight, and they weren't wrong in the beginning. He arrived as a scrawny kid to work and fight alongside some of the biggest men in the world, the most hulking specimens of Snezhnayan hardiness, insulated by so much muscle and fat they claimed they didn't feel the cold. Those men could've thrown him halfway to Fontaine...if only they could ever catch him without losing body parts.
As in all things, that's what practice is for. Until he reached drinking age, he could only sneak a bottle once in a while, and he was always punished for it both by the hangover and disciplinary action from his superiors. By the time he learned how to avoid the former, the latter was no longer forthcoming.
He waits until he starts to feel the vodka before he mixes the dry ingredients, adds the wet ingredients, and whisks them together.
[...]
His dexterity is uncompromised, and it'd take quite a bit more alcohol before he'd have any problems on that front. His senses, however, have begun to dull ever so slightly, and the alcohol relaxes him just enough that the uncontrolled loss of acuity doesn't make him panic. It's a minor respite which he has never chased into an addiction. Indulging or perhaps overindulging now and again is one thing; blunting and hobbling himself with a dependency is another. Besides, he doesn't want to be like this all the time. It just makes a taste of home that much more enjoyable.

Essays are done!! Here’s some Shadow propaganda because the propaganda we currently have sucks and I need to fix that. While yes, Shadow being Catholic is a meme, there is more to outside of the simple “fandub said so” and its not quite stated its Catholicism but just how he behaves and his actions. There’s a lot of Sonic content so I will try to keep this brief. Gonna get headcanons out of the way.
Posting all the asks as one text post :) I'm doing a read more since it's long but tldr: vote Shadow, he's latino and does good works :)
Shadow is Chilean and so are Maria and Gerald Robotnik because I fucking say so and they’re Catholic. He definitely had un rosario next to his like. Bed or test tube whatever he slept in. So did Maria btw. Alright let’s move on because I am 100% correct.
Let’s start with some background for Shadow. Shadow was created as a cure for a girl called Maria and he grew to care for her as a sister and loved her deeply. He was artificially created but still holds a soul that is similar to Maria’s. Long story short, Maria is killed protecting Shadow who watches as she’s shot in front of him. He has his memories tampered by Maria’s grandfather, Gerald, who manipulates him into carrying out revenge on the Earth, even if Shadow ends up as collateral.
Shadow struggles with frequent identity crises, even before Maria’s death and always wondered what his purpose was, what he was made to do. Was he a weapon? Was he a cure? He’s the Ultimate Lifeform, but what does that truly mean? ? He’s Shadow, but what more is there to him? He doesn’t know what his purpose is other than what others have prescribed to him, and he guides himself through the will of others (something that he breaks through afterwards but not yet). Shadow at his core is self-sacrificing and constantly punishes himself. This is where you can see some of that good old guilt that everyone has been using as propaganda, but we also see someone who is giving and kind.
He is snarky in the game, especially when interacting with Sonic, but he’s having what is essentially an ongoing mental breakdown but keeps moving because it is his duty to his sister. He doesn’t believe himself important enough to continue on after her and sees it in himself to act out on “Maria’s wishes”. After the revelation that Maria’s final wish for Shadow was for him to make those on Earth happy and to protect them, he immediately sacrifices himself to do so.
Okay, that’s a lot and you’re probably asking “Okay, you mentioned he is a giving person and yeah he has guilt, but that’s not really Catholicism” and yes you would be right! So let’s go into the more important part of being Catholic. The charity, the community, the kindness, etc. Shadow is a very reserved person and has the habit of being a dumb teenager because well. Yeah. Anyways, he definitely has a soft spot for those he cares about and while his whole arc (in my opinion) is about finding the freedom of self-autonomy, it is also Shadow growing as a person and deciding not to save people because others have told him he needs to, but because he wants to. It is born from his soul and its his nature to care for people. It is who he is, and he knows it now. He’s not doing it because he’s a hero or because he is told to do so. Shadow is a very giving person and I think people tend to forget about that especially due to bad writing from the past decade or so. He is also stated to help out at food shelters and volunteers a lot. He is proud and a bit prickly, but he cares so deeply about those he loves. He is stronger with his loved ones and will always do his best to protect them. These are minor, yeah, but you don’t need sweeping and enormous acts to get attention for the good deeds you do. Most of what you apply of Catholicism is done at the personal level, between your friends, family, and community. He also goes to Mass whenever he can and if he can’t he goes to the capilla and also does the sign of the cross whenever he runs by a church. Cutting this off because this is already 740-ish words and I had to send these across multiple asks I am so sorry Catholic mod

ok for funsies im gonna compile a list of. headcanons (?) but for my own special guy version of trace. just a silly guy
he keeps a red nautilus with more visible nautilus-like patterns as a pet. their name is salinkári
not related at all but in middle school he had a bit of a greek mythology phase and he learned a bit of greek during that. its kinda stuck with him
he loves salinkári more than himself. theyre the ultimate baby for him. cares for them like theyre his literal child. if he had a wallet and could take pictures itd be full of pics of them
the snails hc are all acidic and thats why they hurt when u touch em. trace is so very brave and strong now tho so he still picks his snail up and is able to withstand it for a few seconds. his record is 8 btw he keeps track.
yknow realizing that means he has a weird theme of his best friends both being like. snails. thats fun i think :^) idk what it means i think its just a funny coincidence
when his hair initially started getting long it caused a few identity issues bc to him he was losing part of What Made Him Trace and so he wasnt having any of it. so he made the smartest scientific decision ever and used his blaster to just blast the hair off.
it looked fucking awful and he couldnt tell if he felt better or worse
eventually he gave up tryna keep it "trimmed" and let it be. because it didnt do much for him and hes burnt the back of his neck too much to make it worth it
realizing i am making him more and more autistic. so anyways trace is autistic.
i say that bc i think another sensory thing he has is chewing on things. this is smth hes always had tho, like you knew which pens belonged to him because they were always chewed up so badly its a miracle they havent exploded yet.
his least favorite taste in the world is pen ink btw
the chewings only gotten more frequent and worse due to stress since its supposed to be a stim/destressor for him
when hes Really Feeling It you can tell by the way hes gnawing very aggressively on smth and hes got one hand running and pulling at his hair and the rest of his hands tugging at his coat and scratching at each other. hes a very touch based stimmer
dont think he ever got diagnosed before, and its not smth hes cared to really examine before so i dont think he realizes how autistic he is. hes just good ol trace being a little weirdo!
idk lol ... thats all ive got rn maybe when i think of more ill rb with more

I’m going to copy and paste some stuff for a new Minato series that I’ll be working on in a not so distant future. I’ll add the original links at the end.
△What if Orochimaru had trained Minato? ▽
> Now, Orochimaru was an amazing prodigy in his generation. Years later, Minato served that role for his generation. Then he ends up under Jiraiya's team. (For this, I'll just assume that Minato's famous skills were just things he had to learn himself.)
Jiraiya isn't exactly a good teacher folks. And if he didn't train Naruto to the extreme while he was under his care during the time skip, I doubt he put any more effort in training Minato to an extreme even while a damn war was going on. But on the other hand, Orochimaru pushed. Sasuke to his limits and back. We see the amazing fruits of that labor once Sasuke reappears and easily handles Team 7. So, let's imagine Orochimaru, a fellow genius, trains Minato with that SAME dedication.
SCENARIO: Minato ends up training under Orochimaru instead of Jiraiya. Noticing his immense potential, he puts more focus on Minato than the other members. Out of his own pride in wanting his student to surpass him, he trains Minato to the extreme and back. How does Minato emerge from this? How much more powerful? How does this change his character? What happens when Naruto is still born? What changes in the Narutoverse?
> Honestly Anko would have made so much more sense as Jiraiya's student too, this is a good AU premise!
I think Nerdy bookworm Minato would rub off on Orochimaru, who would finally have someone who actually cared what he had to say about all kinds of esoteric chakra theories, which makes Orochimaru feel appreciated and less drawn to ROOT. Without Orochimaru in ROOT, Jiraiya is able to find out about and stop Danzo's interference in Ame (also, without a prodigy student in Konoha, Jiraiya would be more keen to protect his students in Ame)
My headcanon btw is that Orochimaru was studying ALL of Tobirama's scrolls, and Minato happened to steal the one about Flying Thunder God. Orochimaru reacts by getting really upset, and Jiraiya has to step in to protect the kid, who he inadvertently decides to mentor after seeing how smart and cute Minato is. In this AU, Orochimaru would just go, Fufufu, so you managed to steal from me, hm? Perhaps you are worth my time after all, little boy.
♠︎
> If he is Orochimaru's disciple, then he would still become the Hokage (since Orochimaru doesn't really care about becoming one and would gladly support his disciple + Jiraiya still being unfit).
Flying Thunder God is Minato's signature technique. It has no counters and can kill anything so if Minato ends up improving it even more under Orochimaru's teachings, then it would kinda be overkill. If Minato learns from Orochimaru's scientific endeavors and gives himself a bloodline then he could become even more godly.
Minato would be lightly influenced by Orochimaru and the Snake Summons, becoming slightly more ruthless. I think he would influence Orochimaru more though, so that he wouldn't rebel from the Leaf (or Minato would simply use FTG to nab enemy test subjects for Orochimaru so that he wouldn't touch Konoha citizens...).
IDK about how his relationship with Kushina and his genin team would go though.
> As a avid naruto fan fiction reader I find this idea absolutely splendid. Yet perhaps the ideology for Minato being a corrupted genius under the influence of orochimaru could take light from this ideal. Perhaps naruto would have been born perhaps the kyubi would have been controlled and contained without causing their deaths perhaps the influence of minato would run down to naruto as well and create some sort of dark genius who sees the world as a realist who lives on the ultimate edge of bypassing all limits and norms to find what they seek. I’m not sure but in all and all I think it’s a good idea.

hey do kyotas :)
OUGH YOU GOT IT BUDDY
describe their canon relationship/dynamic
kid with too many issues to go into for this ask fashions himself into his concept of an Ideal Hero. a villain who wants social reform through any means necessary gets fascinated with him. the hero, self-destructive by nature, falls into the villain's hands, because the villain is the first person to see through the facade he's put together and see the Real Him. even after their eventual separation, the hero never truly stops caring for the villain, and the villain never stops caring for the hero, even though the hero tries to deny both of these things because he's The Hero, and the villain is The Villain.
but he can never escape the fact that no one will ever understand him the way the villain does!
your ideal/headcanon version of it? how does it differ from how it is in canon & why is this your favorite version? any other alternate versions of it you enjoy?
literally just that after the 23 year timeskip into ace era that they're married and living together. if x ep 58 hadn't basically gone "yeah tasuku still understands kyoya so well that they can communicate to one another without words, and he still has his innate faith in kyoya no matter what too btw" then this answer would be different but like come ON. come ON.
also the fact that kyoya is using purg knights when he's pushing 40? that's married person behavior
what do you like about their relationship, why is it interesting or enjoyable to you?
jjust. everything. everythhing about it. ultimately it is the story of two extremely broken kids finding someone UNDERSTANDS someone who GETS IT and never being able to let go of that. kyoya is less screwed up than tasuku despite being the villain and because of this understanding they share is also literally the only possible chance tasuku has of getting better
what about the individual characters involved? what does this relationship mean to them, what makes it unique among their relationships?
tasuku's literally everything is so twisted up and convoluted bc he's operating on some insane levels of circular logic based off of trauma and having no support system and instead people encouraging his unhealthy coping methods. so for him, after the end of s1, he's constantly trying to deny that he feels anything for kyoya because he's The Hero and kyoya is The Villain and yet inevitably whenever kyoya gets brought up he's like an eager puppy about it. basically, he's stupid
kyoya on the other hand is incredibly straightforward about how he feels abt tasuku. he's been interested in tasuku since literally the very beginning, and has pretty consistently shown that he's stayed interested in tasuku.
the fact that kyoya decided to make tasuku the first person he told that he wants to change and be better, and in such a way that the only way tasuku would understand that was what he meant if was if tasuku still felt the same for him, and tasuku Does Understand, is really just. the whole explanation of their relationship right there
noticing i am a real fan of relationships that boil down to "for whatever reason only the one person is capable of understanding me and i'll never fall out of love with them because of that"
favorite interaction they have in canon
FREAKING. DESPITE EVERYTHING THEY MEAN TO EACH OTHER THEY DON'T ACTUALLY INTERACT TOGETHER MUCH IN CANON? the scene in the game where it's revealed that tasuku still has kyoya's number and can be like "hey can you meet me at [location] alone" and kyoya's like "wow tasuku... inviting me out here all alone... together... people will talk" is literally so funny though
favorite interaction they have in your head/a situation you want to put them in
i want to put them in every situation. just every single one.

Anon with the tape idea. Very fair headcannon! I agree with those points, but I guess when I thought about it. I kind of honestly thought about it happening with a very very very deep level of shame which would absolutely play into that headcannon of yours. (Not as a convincing point for you to write it by the way, Y’know just me connecting some dots between what seems to be our two lines of thinking). I am absolutely aware of how uncomfortable Eleanor was and like how she did not want to be that rumor even at all. But I guess it’s like, I don’t know, sometimes you are what you HATE even briefly and then you just kind of hate yourself more? (Also I have very much woken up and probably should have not responded to your thoughts right in this instance but I very much like them (and your writing btw and how you see things and characters in those writings). Okay this is a ramble. Thank you for your headcannon explanation!
(pt 2)
Long story short and because I think I forgot to sum it up in this way, my personal hc about this is kind of like, yes being a viewed as a predator absolutely destroyed eleanor. And yes, she was absolutely “better” than that (without anyone actually really being a “good” person in the movie) and she didn’t want to be that obviously even a bit, wanted to be nothing like the rumor, wasn’t the rumor. But like curiosity is a hell of a human experience and sometimes I think it makes people do very shameful things and makes people do things that they absolutely do not want to do for what it makes them as people? And, perhaps you agree with this point, as twisted as it is and how she very much has Gabbi now in cannon, I do think even while stewing in this deep deep revenge plot Eleanor always had some level of, for lack of a better word, “crush” on Drea.
TLDR: Eleanor wants to be better than a predator (ultimately isn’t not really) but does a super shameful action, maybe enjoys it momentarily(because of like said obsession, crush, attraction, curiosity, what have you) and absolutely HATES herself for it
Thank you for also hearing out my personal hc’s! I hope you did not mind talking about this
no prob anon! and you actually make some very good points, love this headcanon! and i didn't mind at all, i love hearing about ppls headcanons for the stuff i like, always feel free to send more!

More stuff on the March Hare AU with Angoramon!Jak. This mainly a mismash of info on what to expect in this AU. Some important, some worldbuilding and a good chunk being random shit.
It was very difficult to find any clothes that would fit Jak's new form. Thankfully all that bulk was just super long fur so the outfit just compacts it like extra padding. Jak does get sheared on rare occasions and goes to Daxter on how to care for his fur. BTW, Daxter is getting pants way earlier than in canon.
Single driver zoomers are comfier as two or three seaters run the risk getting our big rabbit stuck. The Hover Board had to be modded since Jak's big feet make it difficult to even get on the board properly. Funnily enough, Angoramon can fly and create small twisters with their ears. Yeah, Jak became an absolute menace once he found out. If he can't highjack a zoomer then expect him using his propeller ears to get around. He visits the Precursor Temple to fly about and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The Kid/Mar prefers being in Jak's care than anyone in the Underground or Kor. You will often find this younger version of our hero piggyback riding on the giant rabbit's back or snuggled in his fur on cold days. Jak is practically a bed for Daxter, The Kid and the Crocadog 'Charlie'. He really doesn't mind one bit. Even when Mar finds out Jak is an older version of him, the kid still sees him as his big bunny brother.
Jak still has access to Dark Jak but it's way more different than his human/elven version. His dark form can peak out in his Angoramon form but the true visage comes out when he becomes a Lamortmon. THIS is Lamortmon.
Tumblr media
You know the Wasteland Metal Heads found in the third game? Lamortmon is big enough to wrestle those suckers. This version of Dark Jak being more dangerous off the bat than in canon thanks to this Ultimate's temperament. How bad? Well, Lamort translates to 'Death'. Just know that if you offend Jak in this particular form then you better hope Daxter or the Kid is there to ring him in cause HE will maul the bloke to death.
Speaking of Jak 3, Jak and Daxter get to Spargus earlier than in canon thanks to Sig. Uncle Sig content coming up since I headcanon he's sworn siblings with Damas. Just know that our duo does jobs for Brutter exclusively except for a few rare occasions where he has to help Krew and the Underground. Jak is more empathetic to Lurkers since in a way he's more closer to them.
Lurkers call the giant rabbit 'Storm Wing' since his ears look and act more like wings specifically a storm bird's. The group stays in a nearby Lurker Village until they get fully involved with Spargus. Jak trusts Brutter and his fellow Lurkers to actually care for the Kid and Charlie.
Proper hair maintenance be upon this rabbit the moment he meets Damas. Jak can't have all his fur shaved so he gets special gel to keep him cool in the harsh desert heat. That sheared fur is used to make warm clothing and blankets. Does our Angoramon Haunted think it's weird? Yes but he rather have it be put to use.
Sig and Damas are thrown for an entire rollercoaster upon realizing who Jak really is. And yes, the King of Spargus did unknowingly adopt his own son. Realization also happens with said rabbit in the room. BTW, Jak is at least 8 ft tall. DAMAS WILL LIVE. FUCK CANON. I want awkward father-son bonding especially when the kid in question is a big tornado creating bunny.
Samos and Keira aren't going to a good time. Considering Keira took ERROL's side instead of the person she knew the most and only apologizes in Jak 3? Yeah no. Also I am using her "I don't date animals" comment. Samos' is very obvious enough but his daughter has better chance of improving herself than him.
Jak has too many things to figure out than worry about romance. That means no pairings with him throughout the story. Baron Praxis is SOOOO FUCKED. If Jak doesn't get his revenge on the Baron than Damas will. Asshole got way too much leeway in screwing both their lives.
Bunny boy getting potential Wastelander friends his age. Spargus would definitely be more reasonably friendly with the dynamic duo than Haven. Possible worldbuilding with the Maruaders and why they attack Spargus? This is something that was cut in Jak 3 for who knows why.
And that's all I got. Until next time folks, I'll see you back in Spargus.
