Part 1  Part 2  Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Kate had been awake for what she was certain must have been hours, just lying there. Too afraid to break this sliver of peace she’d stumbled upon.
The steady rise and fall of her chest naturally mimicked that of Vincent's as she felt it against her side.
The quiet couldn’t last forever. He shifted away from her with a groan. She couldn’t help but wonder if he’d just awoken or if he’d been basking in the moment like she’d been.
“C’mon,” he said, his voice soft. “We gotta go, just follow me.”
She let him pull her to her feet without protest, following quietly behind, the lingering peace of sleep still blanketing her in a calm that she desperately needed.
As she followed behind him, one hand clasped Vincent’s while the other still carried Anne’s dress, cradling it close to her chest as he led her through the streets.
“Where are we going,” she finally asked, feeling disoriented by his route. She was used to main streets and grand entrances, not the back alleys that she was being pulled through now.
“Somewhere safe,” he said plainly, and as her drowsiness began to fade, the evasiveness of his answer struck her.
She was on alert once again and although the streets weren’t ones she was used to, it didn’t take long before some of them became eerily familiar.
As soon as she realized she stopped in her tracks, staying firmly planted in place as Vincent attempted to tug her onwards. “What do you mean somewhere safe? You said she was dangerous.”
“She won’t hurt you, don’t worry,” he tried to reassure her, but the fact that he’d attempted to hide it overrode the sincerity in his tone.
“I don’t even know what she is!”
“I know, I know. I’m sorry, but I need to find somewhere safe to bring you and Evelyn is one of my only options.”
A few days ago that wouldn’t have been nearly enough to convince her but a few days ago she had a lot more freedom. “Fine, but you have to tell me what she is. No more vagueness and secrets, I want to know.”
“Do you promise you won’t freak out?”
Kate nodded solemnly.
“Alright, well the closest thing you have in human lore is a vampire.”
Kate gasped, her eyes widening as her hands flew to cover her mouth. “She’s a vampire? Hold on, vampires are real?”
“You promised not to freak out, this looks like freaking out.”
Her mind was already darting through the implications. “Wait, so how many of the creatures in folklore are real?”
“I don’t know, most of them. Can we talk about this later?” he asked as he glanced around.
“That’s wild, that’s… you know, in hindsight, I think I should have seen that coming, she fits it perfectly. She isn’t doing much to hide it, is she?”
“No, she most certainly is not. Can we please go now?”
The new information hadn’t done much to soothe Kate but she let Vincent pull her along once more. She’d already decided to trust him, if he said she’d be safe here she knew that it was true.
Or at least that he believed it.
It was much easier to enter Evelyn’s home through a doorway. Not that she would have had the option. She noticed with a twinge of misplaced pride that all the windows that had previously been left open to air out the rooms were now firmly closed and locked.
Vincent walked in ahead of her and she let him take the lead. As eager as she’d been to run into situations head first, this seemed like one where it was wise to stay back.
She heard the clicking of heels and a familiar voice said, “I swear to god if you’re bringing me another unconscious human I am going to…”
Evelyn stopped in her tracks the second she laid eyes on Kate, her expression shifting from that of vague amusement to a distressed sort of fury.
Vincent gave her an apologetic smile. “Well, she’s not unconscious.”
Her eyes flitted back and forth between you, the moment of angry panic fading back to her practiced lazy confidence. “Vincent, I swear to god, you cannot keep doing this.”
“She needed help!”
“Odd, feels like you can’t seem to stop running into people who need help. I don’t know how I seem to keep missing them. Actually, maybe I prefer it this way. You’re getting too trigger-happy lately. At least this one seems like she’s been invited here, although why you’d do such a thing is beyond me.”
“For the record, I am not trigger-happy. The Daniel thing wasn’t even my idea! She’s the one who knocked him out!” he said, gesturing vaguely in Kate’s direction.
That seemed to pique Evelyn’s interest, her gaze shifting for the first real time, to Kate. No longer was she regarding her like a stray dog Vincent had brought, now she was looking as if she was a real person standing before her.
“Did you?” she prompted, looking Kate up and down, making her squirm a little under the unrelenting inspection.
“I needed to. I’ll do whatever it takes.”
That earned a wry chuckle from her. “Well, at least this one’s more interesting than the last one. She’s got more bite to her. Maybe we will get along.”
Kate winced at the word bite. “Is that supposed to be a joke?”
Kate hadn’t thought that Evelyn could get any more irritated with Vincent but in that moment she was genuinely concerned for his wellbeing.
“Now why would she think that’s a joke,” Evelyn asked through gritted teeth.
It was his turn to squirm as she glared at him. “We may have discussed some of your… proclivities.”
Her jaw tightened as she stared Vincent down. “And what else might have you discussed?”
“On the bright side, you don’t need to worry about calling them humans when she walked in. There’s no more game to give away, use all the weird language you’d like.”
Evelyn did not seem to view this as the positive Vincent was attempting to spin it as.
“I am counting the days until you either figure this shit out or give up and frame someone. I can’t even get gray hairs but I swear every time we talk I get closer.”
That perked him up. “About the figuring it out situation…”
Kate cut him off. It was her decision now anyways, he didn’t need to flounder in an attempt to explain. “It’s done, my mother confessed. She hasn’t been arrested yet but it’s only a matter of time.”
“You solved it?” Evelyn asked, giving Kate a once over as she did.
She nodded. “Should’ve done it sooner. It’s my fault it even took as long as it did. But this case will be closed soon, I will make certain of it, do whatever it takes.”
Evelyn raised an eyebrow at her statement. “Whatever it takes, huh?”
Kate nodded, her absolute determination refusing to waver.
Vincent cut in, adding, “Also, everyone might currently think Kate did it so that’s a minor roadblock we need to handle. In related news, I’m just gonna leave her here for a couple hours. Just like… 12 hours. Maybe 14.”
Her attention snapped back towards him, losing whatever interest she’d had in Kate. “Vincent! I have appointments tonight, what am I supposed to do?”
“Postpone them?”
If looks could kill, he would be long gone. “You aren’t doing this. I know you aren’t. What has gotten into you? You said you figured it out! That’s it. It’s done, case closed, just go arrest her. We can all celebrate no longer being murder suspects and you can take Kate along as you clear her name.”
“I have to figure some stuff out first.”
She rubbed her temples. “Vincent, I went along with your stupid little plan to unravel all of this instead of just pinning it on someone, please don’t make me regret it.”
“I won’t. Just give me a few hours, that’s it.”
“14 hours is not a few hours.”
“You’re the best, thanks!” he called back, already heading towards the door as Evelyn continued to scowl at him.
She spent what felt like an eternity just glaring at the door that was slowly swinging closed with a squeak that seemed deafening in the otherwise quiet room.
Finally, with a huff, she turned her attention back to Kate, saying, “I know this isn’t your fault but I think I might blame you anyways.”
Kate managed a weak smile. “Shame, I thought we could both blame Vincent.”
“I might take you up on that when he gets back. He’d rather listen to his human of the week than me anyways.”
Kate wanted to press that statement and learn more about Vincent but it seemed wise to leave that particular topic alone, at least until Evelyn calmed down.
“Who were you going to pin it on?” she asked instead. It took massive amounts of restraint to not tack a ‘was it me?’ onto the end of her question.
“I couldn’t have cared less. You were at the top of the list until Vincent started fawning over you. Your little fiance was a close second.”
“He’s not my fiance. And the motive isn’t there, it wouldn’t have made sense.”
She rolled her eyes. “Doesn’t matter if it makes sense, just matters that it’s not me.”
“Speaking of my non-fiance, where are they? Him and that detective?” Kate asked as she glanced around, looking for any signs of a makeshift prison.
“Blindfolded and handcuffed to a pipe in a closet. They’re very annoying to take care of, I wanted nothing to do with the matter but the alternative was Vincent taking care of them and I wasn’t about to let that happen.”
“Because they would have escaped under his watch or because he would’ve let them go?”
She waved the question off. “One or the other, impossible to know with him. Although those two don’t really seem like his type, especially not after he met you.”
“Oh.” She couldn’t help but wonder what would it have been like if he’d met one of them first. Maybe he would’ve been by Daniel’s side instead. The thought made her feel a little sick, though she couldn’t fully place why. Pushing it aside, she continued on with her neverending questions.
“What appointments are you missing?”
“I’m supposed to be drinking people’s blood, dear. Amongst other things. Why all the questions, are you interested?”
She smiled and Kate couldn’t tell if she was flirting or teasing her. If she had to bet, she’d put her money on both.
“Do you… kill them?” she asked hesitantly.
“God, you’re so dramatic. No, I don’t kill them. You’d be surprised how many people are ready and willing to participate.”
“You get men to willingly sign up to get their blood drunk?”
“Did I say men?”
“Just any old person then?”
She shrugged and gave Kate a knowing smile. Every smile from her felt almost antagonistic. Like it was meant to be a little frightening, an active attempt to make herself as offputting as possible. “I don’t discriminate. Bloods blood, after all, and a humans a human.”
One thing was missing from her menacing smile though. “You don’t have fangs. Don't vampires usually have fangs?”
The question seemed to catch her genuinely off-guard, reeling back a little before regaining her composure and putting on her imposing little performance once more. “I did. They got filed down, it’s standard practice nowadays. Hurts like hell but they say it's better than being so recognizable, that there are less suspicious ways to draw blood. It’s a shame, I wish I still had them. Fuck what the humans think, I can fend for myself.”
“Wouldn’t that just make everything harder? I imagine the clothes do,” she said, looking down at the intense black that even Kate couldn’t match in her funeral garb.
“It does. I don’t give a shit. We’ve hidden for long enough if you ask me.”
Kate couldn’t help but smile at the thought. She’d spent her whole life hiding and lying, not knowing there was any other option. And then these monsters, these creatures of honesty and bravery appeared and it somehow felt more foreign than anything else they ever could have shown her.
It was overwhelming, being faced with people with so much to lose being so much braver than anyone she’d ever seen, than anything she could ever do.
Now when she thought of returning home, back to normalcy, it wasn’t just dread of the inevitable that filled her. There was something else sneaking in, this sense that she would be choosing this, that she could escape the endless lies and the hiding. After all, they did.
Her breathing got shallower and her chest felt tight right under when she was holding Anne’s dress.
Looking down at it, she came to a decision and the tension dissipated. The dread and the grief couldn’t catch up with her if she just kept moving so that's what she’d do.
“I’ll get out of your hair,” she said with the politest smile she was still capable of. “Do you have somewhere I can change?”
“Where ever you’d like, I don’t mind.”
Kate got the distinct impression Evelyn wouldn’t have minded if she started stripping right there and then but still she wandered off until she found an empty room.
It had a bed in the center with some suspicious stains on it that she tried not to think too hard about and dozens of mirrors lining the perimeter of the room. It wasn’t exactly ideal but it would do for the short time she’d be here.
She had absolutely no intention of staying put, but she knew she couldn’t show up as she was. Even now she wasn’t that reckless.  But Vincent had unintentionally given her a disguise and she’d be amiss not to use it.
It was a good bet, no one really noticed the servants, especially if she stuck to herself. The hardest part would be getting out without Evelyn stopping her.
Her attempt to get out of her mourning clothes was not going well. She hadn’t noticed how much she was shaking until she was face to face with the buttons and lacing of her dress.
A familiar, looming presence arrived in the doorway.
Kate could feel her gaze even before she turned to meet Evelyn’s eye.
“It’s polite to knock,” she said, not allowing the woman’s presence to stop her from attempting to free herself of the endless black clothing.
She watched, an amused look on her face as she watched Kate struggle to undo her clothes on her own.
“You need help with that?” Evelyn asked, not even attempting to hide her smile.
“I’m fine,” Kate replied with a huff.
“Seems like it.” She watched as shaky fingers struggled to untie a bow for a few moments more before pacing over and swatting Kate’s hands away.
She pushed Kate’s tensed shoulders down and added, “Relax a little, I don’t bite. Well, I do but that’s beside the point.”
Somehow that didn’t add to Kate’s trust in the woman.
She continued on, barely paying any mind to the rising tension of the girl below her fingertips.
“What do you think of him,” she asked as Kate felt the garment loosen.
“I don’t know. He’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, I guess. Haven’t had much time to think about anything at all lately.” That wasn’t quite true but she was sure Evelyn didn’t want to hear about the neverending flurry of thoughts that plagued her.
Evelyn guided the dress down her arms, the corset loosening around her a few moments later.
She kept talking as she worked. “That boy has a real bleeding heart. I try and get him to loosen up and have some fun and he brings home a handful of strays with sob stories.”
“Is that what I am?” she asked, trying to get a good look at the woman behind her through the mirrors. “One of his strays?”
“I don’t know. Usually, he moves them along pretty quickly, tries not to get too attached. With you, well, I think it might be too late for that. Good luck getting rid of him now, I certainly haven’t had any luck with it.”
The last remnants of her mourning garb fell to the ground and before Kate could protest that she could take it from here Evelyn was already helping her into Anne’s clothes.
“Are you trying to?”
“Not really. But don’t tell him that, I have to keep up pretenses. I would ruin my brand if people found out I wasn’t a heartless bitch.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t think there’s any danger of that.”
“Be careful. What is it they say about glass houses?”
As Evelyn finished, Kate looked at herself in Anne’s clothes in one of the many mirrors lining the walls, but Evelyn didn’t seem interested in leaving. She hovered just behind Kate, eyes roaming her without so much as a care about Kate’s feelings on being inspected.
Her head cocked to the side as if trying to get a new angle on Kate. “Your mind is elsewhere. What’s going on up there?”
“I need to go back.”
“I know. That’s why you’re getting dressed, isn’t it?”
“Vincent wouldn’t want me to go,” Kate blurted out.
Evelyn looked around the room. “Huh, I had no idea he’d snuck back in here. Making decisions for you before I could even lay eyes on him, how does he do it? Go. Do what you need to do. If he comes back early I’ll handle it.”
“Promise?”
“In regards to you sneaking out? Sure. I make no promises about anything else you might do. I have evidence of how easily you get carried away tied up in the other room, I’m not that foolish.”
“Thank you,” she said, and she wondered if Evelyn could hear her sincerity or if she’d gotten so used to faking it over the years that no one could tell any longer.
Getting home was easy. She lived in this city her whole life, lived there for so long, she could find her way home from anywhere.
It filled her with unease the second she laid eyes on it but the emotion didn’t feel out of place. It had always been there, bottled up with every other emotion.
She managed to make her way past people of various stations as she slipped inside, avoiding eye contact and keeping her head down as much as she could.
She was so set on keeping her head down and out of trouble that she didn’t even see her coming until she heard the faint gasp.
Her head rose to see Anne backing away from her, hands raised in a quiet surrender, like she was a wild animal who could pounce at any moment.
“Kate,” she said quietly. “You shouldn’t be here.”
She hadn’t been certain why she was coming back until this moment, with Anne in front of her. Before it was just the need to keep pushing forward propelling her, sending her back again. But now, staring down the person who’d been her only friend, she knew exactly why she was here. “I needed to come back.”
Anne kept backing slowly away, edging towards the door. “No, you didn’t. There’s nothing left here. Now I know we didn’t leave off on the best terms but you shouldn’t do anything rash.”
“I didn’t… you’re scared of me.” The observation felt like a punch in the gut, all of the air being sucked out of her.
“No, I’m not,” she said too quickly in a voice a little higher than it should’ve been.
“Please don’t do this. I’m still Kate, I’m still…”
But was she? She wasn’t even sure she could recognize the Kate that Anne knew anymore. For so long, that was the closest to honesty she’d gotten, and yet now that girl felt like just as much of a stranger as everyone else did with their own unique set of lies.
“Yeah, of course you are,” she said, in a desperate attempt to placate her.
There was nothing she could do to fix this. Not this version of her, not this person who Anne didn’t know. Kate had pushed her away at just the wrong time and now Anne was scared of her and there was nothing she could do to change that.
Anne finally seemed to decide she’d edged close enough to the door, turning heel and running through the doorway.
A few moments later, a familiar detective walked through the door, presumably retracing Anne’s panicked steps.
Worry creased his brow as he laid eyes on Kate. “What’re you doing here?” he asked, rushing to her side. He pulled her chin up, forcing her eyes to meet his in an attempt to ground her. “You shouldn’t be here. I’ve got this, you’re going to get yourself hurt.”
“No. I… I needed to be here.”
He glanced nervously behind him as he spoke. “Alright, we have bigger problems right now. Is she going to tell someone you’re here? Do we need to run or can you just hide?”
And she didn’t know. She has no idea if her best friend in the world was turning her in as they spoke.
The most she could manage was a shrug and then they were off, Vincent dragging her behind him.
This time there were no arguments as he took her back to Evelyn, shouting, “I told you to keep her here,” as soon as he entered.
Evelyn rolled her eyes. “She wanted to leave, what was I supposed to do, lock her up?’
He was wide-eyed and disheveled, looking more frustrated than Kate had ever seen him before. Evelyn stood as confident as ever.
Kate just let them bicker, Vincent furious and insisting she could’ve been hurt while Evelyn tried to remind him that it wasn’t his choice to make.
“What were you even doing there?” Kate finally asked, cutting off their fighting in an attempt to make sense of as much of this as she could.
“Talking to your mother, trying to get her to recant her statement. To give you an escape route, if you needed one. I think if you let me try for longer, I might be able to-”
“Please stop.”
He shook his head, “No, I really think it’s possible.”
He didn’t get it. She had to make him get it. “And who then? If not her, then who? What innocent soul are we sacrificing if it's not my mother? “
“I don’t know, we’ll figure it out.”
“No, let’s talk about it right now. Maybe Evelyn, what about that? She’s an easy target.”
He looked like a kicked puppy but she couldn’t stop. She needed him to understand. “You’re not being fair…”
“Okay, not her. Blame it on one of the staff then. They had easy access, I’m sure we could come up with a motive. I’ve got an easy one, just say it was Anne. Everyone knows we’re close, it would be an easy sell.”
“Stop it.”
“I can’t. I can’t stop until you understand.” She got more and more frantic the more she spoke. “ It has to be her. She did this. I know she’s my mother and I know you feel for her but I also know that we can’t just leave this be. He’s dead and she did it and that has to be it. I need that to be it.”
“Okay. Yeah, okay, that’s it then.”
“That’s it?” she asked, and she hated how small she sounded.
“That’s it. Your call.”
She expected to have to fight harder but he backed down. He’d been telling the truth, she supposed. It was up to her, her choice to make.
She opened her mouth to thank him but before anything could be said, a knock on the door echoed through the room.
Kate and Vincent turned to look but Evelyn sprung right into action. She manhandled Kate into the closest cupboard, shutting the door after hissing at her to stay absolutely quiet.
She held her breath as she stood in the wooden box that was barely big enough to fit her. The front door swung open and Evelyn alone greeted the people at the door, Vincent off somewhere. Maybe he was hiding in some other equally cramped space.
Her blood ran cold as she heard a few words through the door, muffled talk about warrants making its way to her.
The police were here. If they found her she would be arrested but worse than that, there were two kidnapped people in this house, kidnapped people who knew far too much.
If they found and freed them, that was it. Evelyn would be arrested and what would Vincent even be able to do? Harvey and Daniel would hear tales about all the things they managed to do despite having been kidnapped and they’d all know. Vincent would have to just go, leave the two of them at the mercy of the law, or worse, he’d try something stupid and all three of them would get hurt.
Kate did the only thing she could think of. She took one final, deep breath as she stepped out of the cupboard
“I’m in here,” Kate called, praying she could convince the police that Evelyn had no idea she was hiding here, that at the very least she could protect someone.
It certainly got their attention. Barely a moment had passed before she was being restrained and hauled towards the door.
On her way out she passed Evelyn, giving some sob story to the officer in front of her.
In one fleeting moment of eye contact, as Kate was pulled out, she saw a gleam of acknowledgment in her eyes, a quiet thank you that turned to fear once more before any of the officers even had time to notice.
It was in Evelyn’s hands now. Kate was shoved into the back of a police wagon as she sent a silent ‘good luck’ to the pair she was leaving behind. She had a feeling they’d all need it.

102 GENDER UNRESTRICTED DILF ELIMINATION!!!
narrowing the dilfs down to a somewhat workable bracket was, by far, the one of the most nerve-rackings things we've ever done. it has kept us up for nights. bickering in the mods video call over this has ripped this family to shreds. the bracket was longer, shorter, and longer again as we pulled dilfs from the abyss to set them down into the arena. absolutely gutted that we couldn't include everybody, but if your dilf isn't on the main bracket, do not fear. we will not leave a dilf out in the cold to die without honor. they will have their moment.
the dilfs were ranked and seeded based on a very intricate rubric and vibes that included number of nominations so if you see a heavy hitter in a lower bracket than you'd expect, you've nobody but your fellow man to blame.
the first round of dilf death match arena contenders are below the cut. we'll work our way down the bracket with new polls roughly every day. first round seeds like hannibal and bob belcher get a bye week, due to their incredible energy catapulting them into top seed contention, and will not appear until round 2.
happy hunting!
p.s. some of your entries, including those that did not make the cut, shook us to our core and will forever be ingrained into our dna. congrats

The Ultimate Bruh Moment - Music Giant AU Pt. 1
tw: unintentional fearplay, panic
----------------------
Once Upon A Time, in a far-off kingdom, there was a magical forest that held the most mystical creatures from Mermaids to Vampires to werewolves and, most importantly, giants.
So one day, a young thief named Tommy had gone into these woods to get away from the King's royal guard. You see, the teen had managed to steal one of the princes' crowns, and he was about to get away with it until the captain of the guards, Maximus, had caught him in the act and alerted the rest of his men that the crown had been stolen.
This led Tommy to run all the way into the enchanted forest. Unfortunately, despite the warnings of the forest being filled with creepy crawlies and monsters everywhere, the guards went in after him as well. The male looked behind him as the guards followed swiftly behind him, holding his satchel bag closely to his side so it didn't fly off or anything.
"Retrieve that satchel from him at any costs!" The captain shouted at his men, "Yes, sir!" they all replied in unison as their horses neighed to each other, Tommy internally panicked as he heard the guards' horses start to speed up, they were getting closer and he needed to find a place to hide.
And just his luck! as he was running, he spotted the entrance to a cave it was a pretty big one, too. What a coincidence that it just happened to be nearby, so he sprinted into the cave and hid the guards were about to follow him into the cave until they realized that a creature might be in there so they just went back to the kingdom and would search for him later.
After all, he couldn't hide in there forever. The teen sighed in relief once the guards were gone, taking off his satchel as he looked down at the crown.
"Ugh.. finally alone at last.." he chuckled lightly. Unfortunately, his peace ended up dying pretty quickly because as he took the crown out, the light reflecting off of it seemed to have awoken something from inside the cave he heard a loud groan coming from the depths of the cave followed by a yawn? it was pretty loud, so he heard it from miles inside the cave.
Oh no, did he enter some poor creatures home? oops.. at this point, it was too late to turn back because he heard something shifting, and all of a sudden, as he put the crown back into his bag he looked back up and he was met with two big sleepy looking brown eyes staring down at him.
The human stared up at them in shock for a while, watching as the giant sat up from her little makeshift bed rubbing the sleep away from her eyes and then watching as they lit up in recognition and she gasped in excitement:
"Human!" she exclaimed before instantly grabbing the poor teen and hugging him close to her face.
"Aw! I've never seen one of you before. You're so cute! how can one of you hurt one of us? You're adorable!" she smiled before pulling the human away from her face.
She couldn't wait to show her papa what she had found in her home, Tommy groaned as the young one pressed him against her face this was.. surprising he'd always hear stories from the villagers outside the kingdom of how giants were evil creatures who mindlessly ate people, but this one seemed almost.. friendly.
Then again, she was pretty young she looked about 5? maybe 6? she was pretty tall for her age, though she was at least 50 feet tall, maybe taller, "You're so small!" she said as she poked at him, giggling as Tommy used a finger to block hers.
"Papa's always told me that humans are dangerous.. I thought they were as tall as us, but you're no bigger than a pixie!" She laughed, Tommy laughed nervously.
"Well.. you know us humans, always full of surprises -" he replied before exclaiming in surprise as the giant spun him around in her hands, and then said, "Oh! where are my manners, I'm Tallulah! what's your name?"
He sighed as she stopped before catching his breath, "T-Tommy I-I'm Tommy." he panted, she smiled as he introduced himself. "Oh! I can't wait to show you to my Papa! I wonder what he'll say?" she asked herself, "He says humans are dangerous.. but I think--"
"Tallulah!" Tommy heard a voice exclaim from the entrance of the cave, she gasped.
"Papa!"
Tommy made an 'oof!' noise as she dropped him on the ground before parroting.
"'Papa?'"
There were more of them? oh boy.. this was gonna be a fun ride.

🎃IRMA'S SPOOKY FICLET-FEST 🎃
Hello besties! If you know, you know, that I keep it spooky all year round, but halloween is my absolute favorite time of the year and I like to find creative ways to celebrate for the whole month! This summer I’ve been coming back to writing so much thanks to the newest silly man, so I decided to keep that up by celebrating the spooky season with ficlets! The goal is to keep them around 100 - 200  words so that I can manage to complete them, since life is super busy for me atm (but there’s always time for the spooky time). I’ve come up with a list of prompts based mostly on spooky songs and horror movies that I like.
RULES
The movie prompt requests CAN be related to the actual plot of the movie but not necessarily (maybe you just find the title interesting). Also applies to the songs
You can definitely mix up and combine from each category if you like! or throw an original idea of yours, mixed with a prompt from this list
Please specify if you’d like for the ficlet to include smut, or if you’d like for me to keep it sfw
(please consider that the main blorbo of the moment is Eddie Munson and that most of my writing recently has been centered around him, but I AM including the blorbos of my past)
Things I don't include in my writing: a character being related to another one from canon, specific descriptions of physical appearance such as weight, race, etc.
I came up with these prompts for my own use, and I don’t consent to have these reposted somewhere else without my knowledge. If you feel inspired to write based on these, I’d appreciate to be given the credit.
Prompt fills will start to get posted from late September through October 31st.
Happy Halloween friends, let the spooky season begin with open requests!

10 Supernatural TV Shows That Deserve Their Own Movie
Tumblr media
10 Supernatural TV Shows That Deserve Their Own Movie BY JESSICA NOBLEZA, Collider Jan 9, 2023
Hopefully, a few of these fan-favorites can follow in the footsteps of 'Teen Wolf'.
Magic, mystery, creatures and ghosts - all things that make a supernatural flick so intriguing. They go beyond the common understandings of humanity's perception of reality, and introduce viewers into a world of complex mythology. In cinematic history, this darker spookier genre thrived within the medium of television. From Teen Wolf, to Supernatural, to The Vampire Diaries, people were willing to spend hours upon hours watching stories that explored unnatural forces.
Even now, 6 years after its series finale, the narrative of Teen Wolf gets to live on in a new movie. But should that be the only story world that gets resurrected in this form? Within the last 10 years, TV has lost its greatest supernatural stories - many due to abrupt cancelations. One way to fix this problem: save and prolong these worlds within a movie of their own. These are some worthy contenders.
'A Discovery of Witches' (2018 - 2022)
When historian Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer) finds a long-lost manuscript in Oxford's Bodleian Library, she inadvertently places a target on her back. With the book holding ancient secrets about vampires, witches and daemons, Diana is forced to embrace her magical heritage to escape the clutches of the political council for creatures. Her life forever changes when she meets Matthew Clairmont (Matthew GoodE), an enigmatic geneticist who's also a high-born vampire.
Luckily for fans, A Discovery of Witches was able to complete the adaptation of its book trilogy. However, with its rich and intricate lore set in motion, scrapping this story world would be heartbreaking. Given that author Deborah Harkness revealed her plans for several spin-off books, this paves the way to cinematically expand the world of creatures. Possibly a movie about Matthew's past lives or even what happens to his and Diana's twins given that they're half vampire, half witch.
Rosalyn51 Note: Wouldn’t a movie be nice? Actually in 2019, author Deborah Harkness explained her plan for the All Souls book series. “The All Souls Trilogy is the first 3 books of The All Souls Series. Book #4 is already out and is called TIME'S CONVERT. I'm working on Book #5 now. Book #6 should be THE SERPENT'S MIRROR about Matthew's 16th century life before 1590. Book #7 will probably focus on Gallowglass.” Stay tuned : )

Book List 2022
Ranking my favorite books I've read in 2022. My goal is to read 25 books this year. Lost this post for a while because Tumblr’s search engine is a fail, but then someone randomly liked it, so I found it again. Yay, random person. Unfortunately I fell off on my reading, but I may still hit my goal.... Let’s see.
Anyway, will update throughout the year. Let's see how this goes.
1. Under the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
2. The Missing Page by Cat Sebastian
3. Prince’s Gambit by C.S. Pacat
4. Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat
5. King’s Rising by C.S. Pacat
6. Last Call at the Nightengale by Katherine Schellman
7. Spellbound by Allie Therin
8. The Sugared Game by KJ Charles
9. Slippery Creatures by KJ Charles
10. Subtle Blood by KJ Charles
11. Wonderstruck by Allie Therin
12. Starcrossed by Allie Therin
13. Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice
14. A Destiny of Dragons by TJ Klune
15. Consumption of Magic by TJ Klune
16. The Lightening Struck Heart by TJ Klune
17. A Wish Upon the Stars by TJ Klune
18. Proper Scoundrels by Allie Therin
19. Olive Juice by TJ Klune
20. Even Though I Knew the End by C.L. Polk
21. It Takes Two to Tumble by Cat Sebastian
22. A Mouthful of Forevers by Clementine von Radics
--Anne Rice is ranked lower because Interview has never been my favorite book in the series. What can I say, I’m a basic bitch, in love with a certain disaster bisexual blonde and once he’s out of the book I always find it to be a bit of a struggle. But up next is The Vampire Lestat which is my one true book love.

Let the Right One In
I watched This movie last night, and I'm just not thrilled with it. It was a super slow burn, 🐌 🔥 and that's usually alright with me, but it was a burn into something that wasn't quite a bang.
Tumblr media
It started off interestingly, and had me wanting to learn more, but halfway through I just got lost. Not in the story, but my attention started to just disappear.
By no means, though, do I believe that it wasn't good. It just wasn't good for me. I feel like it focused much more on the children "going steady" than it did with the child monster. I know that it was supposed to be a romance, but it just didn't work, in my opinion.
How is it a coming of age story when one of them will never age? Also, Oskar irritated the hell out of me. Like he was definitely a kid I wouldn't want to be friends with. He acted so dumb sometimes (specifically like when he was swimming and wouldn't close his GD mouth, like what kind of idiot swims that way? But also his nose was running through the entire movie and he just kept slurping it up like it was a treat. Sickening)
I didn't like the kid(s) at all. Just because I thought Oskar was annoying doesn't mean I think he deserved to be bullied the way he was, but I can definitely see why he was an outcast. I'm sure that's why he was depicted that way, but it just straight up pissed me off. As for Eli, she was a well meaning monster. At times. I think she just liked him because he was the only one sitting around doing nothing with her when her adult keeper? 🤷🏼‍♀️ was out murdering his neighbors and getting their blood.
I don't think Eli liked doing it, but when it came down to it, she was going to kill. Plain and simple. One of the neighbors gets attacked and eventually turned into a vampire without really knowing what happened. And when she caught on fire.... I was kind of reminded of an A24 type movie with how big and almost artistic the flame was. It was crazy!
https://vimeo.com/20736490
And when the CGI cats attack, I kind of just loved how wild it was. Like I wasn't exactly ecstatic, but animals know what's up when there's evil in their presence
https://youtu.be/lmqQPyNsXpU?si=Kzp66CkT6bC0gOCY
There were times I think, like other kinds of indie horror, that the artistic shot was the most important element followed by pushing things further along in the movie. Most of the scenes set in the classroom were like that to me. And between you and me, that little jerk bully kid deserved more than what Oskar did to him when he clipped his ear. And secretly, I'm glad the movie ended how it did.
Speaking of the ending though, Oskar was such an idiot to just willing go up to the bullies while they were on the side of the pool 🏊‍♂️ like none of them were wanting to get in and if he would treat water long enough for the coch to get back, I think he would have been fine. But he just lets the older brother hold him under. 🤷🏼‍♀️ D.U.M.B.
The kids eventually go off into the world and that's how we end the movie. Not knowing where and what happens when one child grows up and the other lives forever? I don't care how old that creature is, I wouldn't want to be a grown ass adult whose soul mate looks 12. In this day and age, it's probably worse to be seen like that than as a vampire.
Tumblr media
My feelings toward it are 6/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It wasn't a bad movie at all it just wasn't what I like in vampire movies. It was good though!!
Would I watch it again? Maybe I a bit. Not any time soon though if I'm being honest.
Does it need a sequel/prequel? I wouldn't say need but I would see either or. I do wonder how Eli came to be or where they both went afterwards. Directors choice 😉
Would I recommend it? Yeah, it's definitely something worth watching. It's just slow and kind of long. But again, not bad at all!
What did you think?

For the OC ask meme: 1, 4 & 6?
OC Number Asks!
Your Oldest OC
Technically it's a group that expanded from my RP days when I was a teenager. (This piece in particular is from 2005 so apologizes as it is quite old).
Tumblr media
I used to self-insert a lot in RPs and stories at the time and at some point, my self-insert (featured here leaning(?) forward with her long sleeves and tiny boots on the left) needed family members (since I refused to recreate my own rl family in my fictional sandbox, thank you very much). The two tall figures in the background are my self-insert's parents, mom Arianna on the left and dad Takashi on the right with the cape. In front of Takashi is my cis-swapped self that I liked so much, I just kept him around and he just became my twin brother. His name is Telenor (called Tele for short). In the middle of everyone is my self-insert's little brother Tobias, because I felt she needed another brother at some point, idk.
Arianna and Takashi have gone on to have their own story (forever in WIP hell, naturally) but they have been around ever since my teenage years a million eons ago, but they are my oldest OCs, technically speaking.
4) Any Villain OCs?
Last time I got these asks, I talked about Takashi's half-brother, Haiiro, also stating that he's more of antagonist than an actual villain.
This is a trend with me.
Meet Jagger, another antagonist of mine.
Tumblr media
Along with Takashi and Arianna's story, I also had another original work I was working on at the same time called Bullet Train, which was technically a high school romance with a B Plot involving magic being basically illegal and Jagger being a person that hunts down individuals that practice magic and punishes/kills them. He's also the cousin of the MC's love interest bc Drama™. Also had a big theme of Magic vs Science, so that was fun.
Overall, Jagger, while an antagonist to my MC bc her family practices magic and is harboring magical creatures (her uncle (a wizard) is in a polycule with a vampire and a humanoid dragon), but he learns the errors of his ways, eventually, and comes to MC's aid (more so for the Love Interest bc he cares about the kid, baka), but still an antagonist nonetheless.
Will talk about this more in the next section, but he was also one of the first characters where I tried to figure out how tattoos work, first with the Axel von Kingdom Hearts style face tattoos to getting snakes up and down both arms. Still need to work on anatomy so I can get Jagger's arms where I want them to be, so I can give him the full sleeves he deserves.
6) Describe Your Character Creation Process
"See a need, fill a need."
No, really. That's all it really it takes for me to get an idea for an OC. My self-insert needed parents? Takashi and Arianna.
Need antagonists? Haiiro for Takashi and Arianna, and Jagger for Bullet Train.
I'm also a big fan of 'hey, this would be a neat idea."
My self-insert needs a horse? She gets a horse, and he's blue and he talks and he gets a pink unicorn girlfriend.
Cis-swapping spell gone on too long? We split apart and he's his own person now.
Need more lady managers for my favorite Haikyuu teams that don't have one? Meet Nanami and Sawako, the mom friend of Aoba Johsai and the socially awkward teeny girl that acts like a cat sometimes in Nekoma, respectively.
Wanna learn how to draw tattoos? Jagger has tattoos now.
How about piercings outside of the ears? Lizzy's got you covered.
Hey, this indie game that you liked is stuck in development hell and the MCs you created in the demo are still pretty solid, let's bring them to another game: Houki and Ophelia.
IkeVamp needs more historical dress: Thea
Black Army boys keep making fun of Sirius for being 30 and I don't like that: Maddie, who is also 30 and a magical girl.
Hey, this dress up avatar looks neat, I should make a character from this: Maddie, Abby, and Clara
So, anyway, that's how I come up with characters. Seemingly random but they moreso fulfill an itch at their beginnings and then just develop from there.
Tumblr media
Thanks for the ask!

5 - Life Changing Rituals
Tumblr media
(Gif not mine. Belongs to respectful owner)
Part 6
Princess more than a Nickname
@the-big-bad-klaus @alanaangie24
Klaus's POV
Opening Y/n's coffin I wish she could see the slight smile on my face because tonight is the night. The night I finally become the Hybrid. Half vampire and half werewolf. I just have to sacrifice the doppelganger Elena, along with a werewolf and a vampire. I made a Vow to myself that once I become the most powerful creature on the planet I would dedicate the rest of my immortal life to waking my sleeping princess. Foosteps approached where I glanced over my shoulder seeing my brother. "I have a favor to ask of you, Elijah. Stay and guard Y/n until my transformation is complete." I didn't want her body to be left alone while I have to face the save Elena gang. Caroline and Bonnie know about her existence so I can't take any chances of losing her again. Elijah simply nodded as I left the room to prepare. Unknown to Klaus Elijah tucks hair behind your ear feeling a tightness in his chest because everytime he looked at your sleeping form he sees flashes of Brooke.
Elijah's POV
Since we entered the castle I has lost track of Rebekah and Niklaus who were off doing who knows what. My eyes scanned the crowd of people as I lean against the wall. Until a young girl with her hair in a braid runs from one of the guards. "Stop following me Jacob. We're over!" The girl snapped but the Jacob boy tried to hold her back so I slowly strolled up. So I calmy speak up resting a hand on the girls shoulder. "The young lady asked you to leave." He rolled his eyes stomping off causing the girl to sigh in relief. "Oh thank you, my Lord. How can I repay you?" I tapped my chin not entirely sure of how this dance should go so I extend my hand for hers. "Could you show me how this dance goes, Miss?" She puts her hand in mine pulling me onto the dance floor. "Of course, I'm Brooke Tames by the way." I smiled softly to her. "I'm Elijah."
Klaus's POV
Standing in front of the three fire circles Elena started sobbing for Jenna while my witch chants something to the moon at its peak. Vamping through the flames I rest my hand to Elena's face. "Thank you, Elena." She spits in my face muttering. "Go to hell." I pull my vampire fangs out biting into her neck, drinking her blood then dropping her body to the ground. The moon moves from behind the clouds as I gasped feeling something running through my veins. Then my bones started to break meaning that it was working that brings a smile to my face where I push through the pain. But my body gets slammed into the ground by the Bennett witch who chants aggressively until I'm extremely weak. Someone vamps above me where I gasped for breath feeling betrayed in this moment. "Elijah....you shouldn't be here..." He shoves his hand in my chest holding my heart making me gasp even more. "You promised to...to protect Y/n in Brook...Brooke's...egrrr!"
Y/n's POV
"Grandma, where's Brooke. I haven't seen her all day - how did you find that?" I babbled out questions stopping in my tracks seeing her holding a small vial of Nik's blood. After our talk the other night he told me that I could choose to be with him forever if I wanted. So he left some for me to make the choice. "I didn't want to believe it. I can't imagine that you'd even consider hanging around those creatures...those monsters!" She growled as guards bursts into my chambers holding me down. I grunted staring up at her as she pulled out an achent book that I couldn't read. The guards dragged me out into the woods by the horses stables where I'm on my knees. "Grandma, what's happening?" I croaked out in confusion seeing another set of guards bring out Brooke who has tears running down her face. My grandmother ripped off her necklace that my mother had given her for her birthday last year. "Y/n, dear I am sorry it's come to this but your mother was foolish to not tell you the truth. About you and your friend Brooke."
Brooke whipped her head to my grandmother the wind moving her hair. "What are you talking about?" She turned and grabbed Brooke's hand holding it over the necklace for her hand to start turning red. Brooke groans when my grandmother intertwined her hand around hers it turning the same color. "Brooke is a witch my dear...You're mother and I are just like her. Why do you think we let you two get so close. Because I thought you could learn what you truly are." I glanced to Brooke who started crying when my grandmother started chanting some foreign language. "Brooke, what's she doing?" She sniffs through tears yanking her hand from hers seeing blood. My grandmother raised her freehand where I moaned in pain answering me with tears of her own. "I'm putting you in a deep sleep until I find a way for you to forget you ever knew Klaus Mikaelson." Brooke grabbed the red vial throwing it towards me now that the guards had let me go, so I opened the vial starting to get sleepy, drinking the liquid seconds before my neck snapped and I collapse onto the dirt.
Klaus's POV
Elijah grunted releasing heavy tears clutching my heart in his hand. I moaned clutching the dirt underneath my hands. "We never should have gotten close to them, Niklaus. Those girls lost everything because of us....I should just kill you to protect the others-" I cut him off not wanting to never get to see Y/n again. "If you kill me you'll never find our siblings....I didn't drop them in the sea they're alive!" He gasped where Stefan ordered him to not back down. "Don't do it, Elijah!" Yet my brother removed his hand from my chest vamping us away from them. I gasped dropping on my hands and knees staring up to my brother before transforming into my wolf form after years. "If you try and kill Y/n you'll never find them!"
Klaus ran off into the woods feeling everything more heightened now that he was a hybrid. Elijah watched his brother kill through the night sensing that the threat he made was true. But neither of them knew that back at the mansion something was happening to you. You clutched your hands into fists turning them red as you gripped the coffins fabric. Suddenly you shot up releasing a shacky gasp of breath, where your eyes glowed gold. "Nik..."
Readers - First off sorry for changing Point of views a lot in this chapter. Also in the next chapter I'll reveal what happened to Brooke
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Fault in Our Stars
Warning: PTSD, references to childhood abuse and trauma, sexual trauma and depression.
Inspired by: @vukis2
Lips quivering. Tears trailing. Body shaking from the cold and fear. Eyes widened- alarmed and frightened.
Running into the dark forest was definitely a bad idea. But what was Donna to do other than run? Run for her dear life? Run away somewhere- somewhere away from the lands infested with blood-sucking vampiric creatures that feasted on her family's blood, leaving her the youngest and the damaged for last.
Damaged. Ruined. In every sense. In every way, a woman is not to be ruined.
The hazy light of the gloomy skies shaded by the canopies of the tall and twisted brown trees lit the dark path ahead. Each step was taken carefully as the rustling of the carpet of dried leaves, and twigs below Donna's feet gave a crisp crackle, each sound making the girl turn back while tightly squeezing the arm of her ragged doll, Angie. And the sounds of the high-pitched giggles turned into ear-piercing shrieks. In the dark forests, vile creatures lurk in every corner, staggering and tottering in the shadows hunting their doomed prey. A forest lore, narrated by every village person. Or was it a forewarning left to the villagers by the unfortunate quarries who could never return to see another sunrise?
Most never knew which, but that day, Donna realised that it was the latter.
The dark forests always played with its victims' minds: most never escaped from its evil clutches, and the ones that did, they were driven to insanity by never-ending nightmares of its devilish creatures. There was no escape.
Donna stopped as she heard sudden footsteps approaching. They were fast, very fast.
'Run.' 'Run.' 'Run.' She kept commanding her body, but her legs shook and felt heavy, making the girl fall on her knees. The girl refused to turn back, and she closed her eyes. The wind was strong, pushing her backwards as if tempting her to open her eyes and see what stood behind her.
And then, the sounds of the ravens squawking, but in human tongue filled the languid air of the forests. Their crows were so frightening, so horrifying that they made poor Donna's flesh bleed and cut.
//"She the woman who made the Devil destroy the paradise for a kiss,"//
"I did not fall. I did not fall." The girl repeated the sentence over and over again, clutching Angie close to her breasts. The ravens flew around her, its sharp beaks piercing through her tender skin, its shrill squeaks hurting her sensitive ears, the pitch getting louder and louder until it started ringing in her ears. They started ripping her hair from her scalp and skinning her thighs, relishing in her decaying flesh.
The girl then let out a loud scream.
"HE PUSHED ME!"
//"No one questions the Devil, whore!"//
And with that, it was back to the eerie tranquillity of the forests.
Eyes watching. Ears listening. Tongues wetting. Stomachs growling.
She was tired. Scared. But determined to escape from the forests' demons. But would she?
Donna shook her head sideways, swallowing all her doubts. She was going to escape and start her life anew, somewhere far, far away. In lands where she was not damaged. Not cursed. But welcomed with open hearts and warm smiles. And with that, she pushed herself up, not letting her mind succumb to the dark pits of self-doubt.
The frigid air bit into the girl's tender skin through her ripped clothes and burnt her lungs while numbing her nose. The girl hugged herself, trying to keep the cold away. Lips pale, eyes swollen, hair covered in icicles, and her body covered in dried blood and mud. It seemed like the path went on forever, and the sky-kissing mountains were just an illusion.
The earthy smell after the first rainfall that loomed over the dark lands slowly faded away as a more metallic smell with burnt char took over—burning flesh. Someone or something was close.
Donna chanted words of Orison to her creator- for protection. For courage. For salvation. And if the Gods chose to cut her thread of fate, then so be it. She was ready to welcome the torment of hell that awaited her. Somewhere away from the abhorrent lands that she walked on. Was walking on. Her trembling hands tightly clasped on Angie's neck while her steps became slower and more cautious.
The girl found a rock big enough to hide behind as the smell got stronger and sounds of inhuman growls got louder. She didn't want to see them as she shut her eyes tightly, her prayers chanted at a frantic pace bobbing her head back and forth. Until. A human voice caught her attention- a voice which she regretted listening to.
"Take the fat one. That's all you will get for the night," A bunch of snarls poured out from all directions until the person finally screamed, "SHUT UP! Go find more food somewhere else!"
The sound of soft whimpers made Donna peek from behind the rock. In a wooden cage were 6 small-sized men, looking down at the creatures in fear. They were the dwarfs. On the ground was a giant dwarf that shouted for mercy, as his limbs were torn from all sides and his body ripped with the splatter of blood and his insides. Donna held back her urge to gasp, biting her tongue so hard that she felt the taste of blood in her mouth.
"Oi fish freak!" Donna's attention shifted from the mutilated remnants of the corpse to that of a man, tall and sturdy with messy, greasy grey hair covered by a hat. He wore a long brown coat that swayed with his every movement. He had a gigantic hammer in his hand, one that made the girl tremble in fear. Not only could this man control a horde of dangerous human-eating monsters, but he was also burly, judging by the size of the metallic hammer.
"Hey, moron! Yeah, you! Come here ya quim!" A blob-like grotesque creature stumbled towards the man. It looked so ugly and ghastly that Donna felt the contents of her stomach rise to her throat.
"Fry these midgets and send them to Miranda." The fish-creature bowed its entire body as if nodding to the man. The man with the hammer turned away, facing the rock as a slight smirk appeared on his face, and that scared Donna. Did he see her?
Donna pulled herself behind the rock as she breathed in heavily, hoping that he hadn't seen her. She felt something warm and wet on her shoulder, and she slowly looked up. To her horror, one of those creatures stood behind her, looking at her famished. The girl let out a loud scream, pulling Angie close to her chest. But before the creature could put its sharp rotten nails on her, its head was smashed by something, making its blood splash all over her. The girl, who was still in shock, stared at the creature's headless remains, her body trembling like a leaf and her heartbeat thudding loudly.
Suddenly, her hair was grabbed, and she was picked up like a rag doll. Her eyes stayed fixated on the mushy brown ground, but a gloved hand grabbed her face and forced her to look at the person. It was the man with a hammer.
"Mhmm...Young blood," He said, observing the girl's face. His eyes landed on her ruby-red necklace. "Scarlet, eh." The man dropped Donna, and she landed with a soft grunt. He bent down to her level, watching her closely. The girl was about to beg for grace. The sounds of painful screams made her turn towards the horrific scene. The dwarfs were set on fire, all of them hurdling close to each other, screaming into each other's bodies as if sharing their pain and death.
The man in front of her grabbed her face and made him look at her again, pulling out something from his coat. An apple. Delightfully red. He brought the fruit closer to the girl's lips. Without wasting another second, Donna grabbed the apple from his hand and bit into its scrumptious flesh, greedily and ravenously. Without chewing properly, she bit into more and more until she choked a few pieces out.
The man watched the girl eat in dark amusement. A raven perched on his shoulder, crowing in his ears, making him grimace.
"Yeah yeah, it's poisoned." He said, shooing the raven away. The girl was just halfway through her apple, but she felt dizzy and sick. It was as if the world was spinning at such a fast pace, and she felt as if she was losing control of her body. The man effortlessly put the girl on his shoulder and walked away while magically getting his hammer to fly right into his hands.
...
Donna's eyes fluttered open to the sound of people talking and the muffled mewls of a younger person, probably a girl. She felt hot, and an unusual but familiar pain tingled throughout her body, pulsating through each nerve excruciatingly. The girl tried to move her wrists, but there was something tight and sharp clamped around her wrists, restraining any movement.
Angie...Angie wasn't there in her hands. Donna bolted up, alarmed and terrified. The room she was in was quite cold, dark and damp, like the inside of a cave. It was dimly lit by the lamps on the walls. In front of her stood a woman with raven feathers unfurled behind her. To her right was the hammer-man, telling the woman about something. Between them was another chained girl with platinum blonde hair, bloodied, bruised and naked. Probably a survivor. Or a prey.
The lady with the raven feathers grabbed the blonde girl's face and lifted her up, her feet away from the ground.
"Young Rose...Fresh virgin blood," The woman mused with a slight grin, squeezing the girl, Rose's face. The woman brought her closer, taking a deep whiff of the girl's neck. "She smells delicious. Girls! Come here!" The woman shouted, and out of the shadows glided three women, giggling and jumping with their faces covered in blood. As they walked, a swarm of flies surrounded them and, out of their sleeves, fell off maggots- wet and slimy.
The raven woman threw Rose in their direction, and the poor girl fell with a loud thud. "Her blood, please." The woman ordered the three girls.
"Of course, Mother Miranda!" The girls giggled and laughed, taking Rose and throwing her to a bed of needles and kept pushing her deeper into the sharp metal, impaling the helpless girl's body. The cave echoed with the laughter of the insect-witches and the weak cries of dying Rose.
Donna watched the scene in horror and started crawling backwards until her back hit the wall.  The raven lady, Mother Miranda, turned her attention to Donna, looking at her with steely darkened eyes. The woman disappeared into a murder of crows and suddenly appeared in front of the girl and kneeled down to her eye level. Her pale and cold fingers grabbed the girl's jaw and pulled her forward, observing her closely.
"What is your name, child?"
"D-Donna", The girl stuttered, shaking uncontrollably. "Donna Beneviento."
"Ah, House Beneviento! My daughters and their spawns recently ravaged their Village and families," Mother Miranda chimed, looking at the three insect-witches who kept stabbing Rose's mutilated corpse with their large metallic nails. "Young Rose was from there."
"W-Why d-do you kill?" Mother Miranda smiled at the girl as she pushed the stray strands of her hair behind her ear.
"Human fear and blood keep us alive." The woman traced her fingers across Donna's cheekbones. "We were damned by the Old Gods, the ones who were in favour of your wretched kind."
"Y-you are all m-monsters!" Donna choked out, pushing herself away from the woman's touch. Mother Miranda grabbed a fistful of the girl's hair and pulled her close, biting the girl's neck. Donna let out a piercing scream, trying to pull herself away from the woman.
"Ah, that's a first. You're not Virgin blood. Unchaste!" Miranda raised an eyebrow and looked at the girl in disgust.
//"Stained and the tarnished scent of the vile harlot"//
A tiny scar near the girl's left eye caught Miranda's attention. The woman roughly pushed her hair away and looked at Donna's blistered scar in revulsion. "And she is a cripple."
"Not a virtuous Doll, eh?" The hammer man chimed, looking at Donna in amusement, but once his eye landed on her scar, his smile dropped.
Doll...Doll...Angie! Donna gasped and looked up at the hammer man in distress. "Angie! Where is Angie, my doll?!"
"Burning." Mother Miranda replied with an indifferent expression.
"W-What? N-no! NO!" Donna screamed and shouted, trying to push herself upon Miranda, but the woman was strong. Without much effort, she slapped Donna, making the girl break down into a whimpering mess.
Angie. The only remnant of her innocence now burnt away in the heat.
"This one's of no use to me."
"But she smells so delightful!" Said one of the insect witches, sniffing her around and licking the blood of the wound where Miranda had bitten her.
"Indeed she is, child. But your Mother won't be pleased with any of you drinking impure blood," Miranda spat, looking at Donna in contempt. Donna looked down, ashamed and embarrassed at the way they kept taunting her. Just like how she was harassed in her Village for something that wasn't even her fault...
'I did not fall...I did not fall...'
"Alright then, she can be a nice play-thing for the Lycans." The hammer man said, putting his hammer on the ground and resting his weight on it.
"Fine then, Heisenberg. The girl's fate is in your hands." Mother Miranda got up, glaring at the girl.
His name is...Heisenberg? Familiar name.
The man nodded, grabbed the girl's chain. He pulled the chain sharply with a slight grunt, making the girl stumble and dragged her across the sharp stony ground. Donna let out soft mewls of pain.
"Quit your whining!" He said as he dragged her slower this time, making every inch of her skin throb, red and wet.
-
Sounds of metal grinding metal stirred the girl from her disturbed slumber. She wasn't sure how she slept off. She was still shackled in chains, but instead of being seated in front of a Cult family, she sat alone in a chamber, cold. And wet.
"Ah, you're up!" A loud, boisterous sound made the girl flinch lightly. She slowly tilted her head up to look at the person.
Heisenberg. Smirking and eyes glinting with mischief. He held out a water jug to the girl. Although she desperately needed it to quench her thirst and wet her dried mouth, after the poisoned apple, she was afraid.
"Relax, there's nothing in the water," Heisenberg rolled his eyes in annoyance. The girl hesitated to take the glass from him, which caused the man to groan in frustration and sipped a little of the water. "See? I am alive. It's normal water,"
Donna quickly grabbed the jug from him with trembling hands and drank the water, messily and shakily, the water running down her neck. She drank in so fast that the poor girl choked on water, coughing up some of it.
Heisenberg chuckled, sliding a plate of stale bread and some bright coloured fruit. The girl didn't wait for another second and quickly devoured the food down, juice of the squished fruit staining her skin and clothes. Heisenberg observed the girl quietly with a neutral expression. Pulling out a cigarette, he lit it up, smoking in a direction away from the girl's face.
"W-Why a-are y-you not killing m-me?" Donna's soft stutters pulled the man out of his thoughts. He rubbed his eyes as he contemplated her question, letting out a soft yawn.
"Didn't you hear what I told Miranda?" Donna nodded her head sideways, making the man sigh. "A play-thing for the beasts."
"W-Will they...k-kill me?"
"That depends." Heisenberg shrugged, walking away from the room. "Oh, and the chains will stay. " He said, closing the door behind him.
Donna pulled her legs close to her chest, tears trailing down her eyes. Her skin was bruised and bloodied, her clothes tattered, she stank, she was starved, she was tortured, and she was ruined. Too much for a lifetime.
The sound of the crow of a raven made the girl lookup. 'How did that bird get in?' The girl thought, looking at the bird baffled. The raven had red eyes and looked at the girl menacingly. It let out one more shrill crow and dove straight towards her, its sharp beak pointing at her. Donna curled into her legs and let out a whimper, too tired to scream. But the attack never happened. Instead, a laugh- malicious and vulgar- emerged. Donna looked up, and there stood the Hag.
//Broken disgusting whore! Shame on you!//
Donna didn't fight back. She stayed quiet, thinking of her time at home, back in the Village. The Hag continued with her taunts and screams, her ravens poking the girl's delicate flesh, but the girl was too tired, too lost. Too broken.
"I know," Donna whispered, fresh hot tears trailing down her cheek as she remembered the night, back in the Village, when she got the Stigma of the Fallen Maiden- The whore.
Bodies sticking together with sweat. A heavy weight on her chest crushing the delicate flesh of her breasts. Hair yanked and tugged with a few strands ripped off. Teeth biting deep into her skin, blood flowing out of it. An unbearable pain as she felt herself lose her chastity and virtue...No longer virginal and innocent. She was marked and claimed by another man.
//You are no graceful deer like a faithful virtuous maiden! You intoxicate them with your ardour! You vile demon!//
"I know," Donna whispered again, her eyes heavy and burning and swollen. She cried no more. She couldn't. There was nothing to cry for. She was forever going to be this- a whore.
"Oi Hag! Get the fuck outta here! Go teach your lessons about virtues and morality to those Demitrescu girls." It was Heisenberg. The Hag turned back at the man and laughed loudly and sharply, making both Donna and Heisenberg wince in pain. The older woman burst into raven feathers, disappearing from the room.  Heisenberg turned his attention towards Donna. He took a few steps towards her until he was close enough.
"I know what happened that night," He said, looking dead into Donna's shocked eyes. How did he know? The man sat down, placing his hammer by his side and taking his hat off, running his hand through his hair.
"H-how did y-you know?" Donna asked, looking up to the man.
"Tales like these spread fast through the Village and beyond." He shrugged. Donna nodded, her eyes glued to the cold ground, observing its cracks and crevices.  "You don't remember me do you?" Donna looked at the man. The name Heisenberg did ring a bell for her. But she couldn't recall from where. "Ya remember the name, Karl?"
Karl...Karl...Heisenberg...
Karl Heisenberg! Heisenberg's son!
Donna nodded her head lightly, old memories of their time together as children returning to her. It was him.
The only child in the Village who was never afraid of her or treated her differently. Every time they were together, Karl's father would forcefully pull him away, shouting and screaming and hitting him for playing with the Spawn of Demon. But that never stopped Karl from going back to her.
Until.
They turned 16. She was a woman, and he was a man. She grew beautiful, and he grew taller.
She couldn't remember much, except one night during the Village's ritual: Young women who bled for the first time.
It was in the outskirts of the woods. Young Karl and Young Donna. Sitting by the rock. Moonlight dancing on their youthful flustered faces. Karl's gentle hand on her cheek, pulling her closer. And closer. And closer. Lips just touching. So soft.
"You disgusting boy!" And after that, all she remembered was being pushed away by Karl's father, her head hitting the ground sharply. And Karl's faint cries, "Donna!"
"W-Where d-did you go after that day?" Donna asked, her hands deeply buried into the fabric of her clothes.
"Father sent me away to another Village, to live with my uncle. Cruel man- known to straighten up Wild Things. But I just ran away." He shrugged.  There was a silence between the pair. But this was a comfortable one—just the sounds of their breathing, with the gentle whistle of the winds outside.
"Why here?"
"Mhmm?" Heisenberg peered at Donna, rubbing his scruff. "Ah well, like you, that useless Hag caught me. But things are fine here. I get a roof on my head, food and clothes. No whores though," He snickered but immediately stopped seeing Donna flinch at the word. "If you want to survive here, don't let that hag get to you."
"Do you have any advice on how I'll survive you?" The girl asked.
"Huh. Why do ya ask?"
"You say I am a play-thing for the Lycans. You said they might eat me."
"Ah, that. Yes, the Lycans do enjoy the company. They're just dogs." He said nonchalantly, waving his hand.
"But I don't want to stay here."
"Unfortunately, Donna, for people like you and me who are called 'wild' and 'vile', this is the only place that we get close to home." Donna looked away, feeling fresh hot tears prickling in her eyes.
"There's no 'we', Karl," The girl snapped. Karl hid his surprise at her sudden change of demeanour behind an irritated scowl. "I am everything you're not. I am not a vile whore-"
"GODDAMIT DONNA", Karl stood up, throwing away his hammer in frustration, breaking something nearby. "How long, how fucking long are you gonna keep crying about that bullshit?! It happened. You were fucked, whether you like it or not. Going around telling everyone that you aren't a whore won't change anything-"
"I know," Donna whispered, shivering from cold and fear. "Believe me, I know." The woman looked up to Karl, staring deep into his eyes. "But that doesn't make me a whore. That doesn't make me vile."
"Then you fucking accept the circumstances. It is written in our fates." Heisenberg sighed.
Donna stared at Heisenberg, pained by the helplessness that radiated off him, as the memory played in her mind.
Fate...
"Karl, your father won't let me be with you. Forget being near you. Your reputation will be tarnished because of me. The Village thinks I am cursed," Said a 15-year-old Donna. It was nighttime during one of their many midnight trysts in the woods. When the Villagers were fast asleep, and no one tried to hurt the couple.
"To hell with the Villagers and my father. They can say whatever the fuck they want, but I will have this life my way, and I will take you with me." Donna smiled softly, feeling her heart fluttering at her lover's determination and adamance to want a life with her despite all the difficulties they would face.
"But what if this is how things have to be? What if it is just...written in our stars?"
"Well then, fuck the stars. It's our lives. No one has a say in it. You choose your path and if that makes you happy, then fuck everything else. You choose your fate," He said, planting a soft peck on her cheek.
"You told me that day, we choose our fate, Karl," Heisenberg grunted, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
"Yea. I fucking did. Now, where has it got us both, hm?"
Donna stood up from her place shakily and limped towards Karl until she could feel the tug of her shackles. She was close enough. She raised a hand towards the man's face, but before she could touch him, his hand shot up and grasped hers.
"Don't", He growled, his ocean-blue eyes piercing into hers, trying to intimidate her.
"Please," She whispered, wriggling her hands a little, making the man drop his hand, letting the woman touch his face.
Donna slowly traced his scars. A story behind every one of them. Some she knew, some she did not. Karl didn't flinch as she kept caressing his rough skin with her softer, bruised fingers. He just looked at her as if searching in her for the old Donna he knew. The old Donna would dream with him about a beautiful future they would never have. He found her.
But to Donna, she never saw her old Karl. The one who dared to dream despite their doomed circumstances. He was now a broken man. A hopeless man who had seen and been through enough. A man who forgot what it was to experience bliss.
"I don't know if I will ever get to live this life with you, the way we dreamed. But...If there is still some life in you, I'd like that." Donna said, pulling her hand slowly trailing to Karl's chest, feeling the soft, slow thud of his heartbeat. With a wave of his hand, Donna's shackles broke. Karl slowly encircled his arms around her waist, gently but firmly and pulled her closer. With a hand cupping her cheek, he looked at her.
"I would have loved that. But look at me now. I am one of them." He said, his hand lingering on a cut on her cheek that she got because of him when he dragged her towards the factory. "But you. You can live on. A better life."
"I could have, but that better life that I wanted," Donna paused, breathing in as she felt her words being swallowed. "I wanted it with you."
"But I can't give that to you, Donna."
"Then give it to me here. Right here." Donna said, inching closer to Karl, feeling his hot breath on her cold damped skin. Karl pulled her close and rested his head on her forehead, closing his eyes and feeling the warmth and comfort he got from her.
"Get some rest. By tomorrow, you will be better." Karl said, pulling away from her. Donna held his hands tight, afraid to let him go. Afraid to lose him again.
"W-What do you mean?" Karl slowly loosened her grip on his hands and smiled at her softly. Picking up his hat and hammer, he walked out of the room, shutting it from outside. Donna sat down, confused and dejected. Lying down on the cold floor, the girl shut her eyes tightly and sobbed, her wails and whimpers slowly lulling her to sleep.
-
It was as if the ground below her was shaking. She didn't know what it was. Donna jerked awake as she felt a sudden push from below. The girl gasped, looking around. It wasn't the room where Karl had kept her. It was...smaller and more cramped and...moving?
"Ah, Lady Beneviento! You are awake!" A jovial and cheery voice pulled Donna's attention. It was a man, friendly and big.
"W-Who are you, and where am I?"
"I am the Duke, a humble merchant, and you are in my carriage. Lord Heisenberg asked me to take you to the other side of the forest."
"Karl? Karl, where is he?!" Donna asked, looking around frantically.
"He couldn't make it," Duke said apologetically. "He wants you to take that little box. That should help you earn a living, not luxurious, but enough to survive," Donna looked to her right and there it was, the box. She opened it, and inside was Karl's chain that he wore every day, some coins and some ornaments. And a small doll that resembled Angie. But prettier and newer.
"What happened back there?"
"Lady Miranda caught him trying to escape. Ah, it looks like we're here!"
"Duke. Can I go back?"
"I'd suggest you not. He wants you to stay alive, my Lady. Best you honour his wishes. Do this for him" Donna looked at the chain, tracing the engravings on it. The girl looked into the box and saw a small note in it.
Thank you for setting me free. I hope to see you in another life where we will be together, just like we dreamt.
The girl pulled the note to her chest, feeling a strange pain in her body. She felt heavy. She felt like she was breaking apart. She felt as if she couldn't breathe. Duke looked at the girl sadly. He couldn't help her, and he wasn't sure how to.
"Thank you," Donna muttered, stepping out of the carriage with the box in her hand. Ahead she saw a little Village. A chance for a new life, but one without Karl. How could she live without him?
'Best you honour his wishes. Do this for him.'
"Okay, Karl." Donna sniffed, a bittersweet smile on her face, as she walked towards the Village, her hand tightly clutching the chain. As she approached, a man, probably the gatekeeper, stopped her.
"Who are you, and state your purpose."
"Donna. Donna Heisenberg. I seek refuge in your Village. Mine was destroyed by monsters." The gatekeeper nodded and took a moment to observe her ragged state, his eyes softening as he noticed her bruises and blood.
"Alright, follow me. You can speak to his Majesty." Donna nodded, smiling softly.
A new life. A better life. For Karl.
In the woods, near the factory lay Karl Heisenberg, bloodied and stabbed on the ground. He held a glove tightly in his hand. Donna's glove. The one he pulled from her when his father forcefully separated him from Donna. Rubbing his thumb across the soft material of the glove, Karl smiled, looking up to the heavens, his vision fading away slowly.
"Thank you, Donna."

Imagine being the reincarnation of Dracula's long lost love: Part 9
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Tumblr media
A couple hours later, the flames eventually died out, leaving the castle practically in ruins. You still hadn't moved and Dracula was beginning to lose hope that you would never move again. He picked you up and carried your limp body in his arms as he walked back to the castle. So much of it was burnt and fallen apart. There was a large gaping hole in the cieling where you could see into the sky above. Dracula noticed that it was nearly dawn. He just hoped that the dungeons were still in tact as they made their ways towards them with Henry and Van Helsing clearing the way, pushing aside the charred debris.
At this moment Dracula felt numb. His castle was a heap of burnt rubble and the love of his life was possibly dead forever. Luckily for him when he reached the dungeons it was untouched, not even by the mob. At least that was a good sign. He thought. But not much of one. In a room just off the staircase lay his coffin, it black with plush red lining, and inscribed on the top was his family crest. Henry lifted the lid and Dracula placed you gently inside.
"What do we do now?" Van Helsing asked.
"We wait." Dracula replied, looking down at your lifeless body.
He felt anger once again boiling over inside him. He clutched his fists so tight that his knuckles turned white and his nails cut into his palms.
The tension was so thick in the room you could cut it with a knife. The longer Dracula waited, the more he became angry. Angry that his love had been taken away from him again. Angry that no matter how much he wanted it, he would never find peace not from angry townsfolk, not from Van Helsing, and not even from himself.
Van Helsing watched him carefully, sensing his anger. This anger was different than before. For the first time, he actually felt a little frightened. Dracula could tear him apart like paper if he wanted to. It felt like waiting for a bomb to explode.
Finally it did and like a viper he grabbed Van Helsing by his collar, lifting him a couple inches off the ground. "This is all your fault!! " He growled.
"My fault?! I'm not a monster that goes around killing innocent townsfolk am I?! " Van Helsing choked, trying to pry himself lose, but to no avail.
"Get out before I kill you were you stand!" He hissed, releasing him.
"No, Im staying." Van Helsing refused, fixing his shirt. Dracula stepped toward him, baring his teeth, aiming to kill.
"If she wakes and finds me dead, she will never forgive you. You don't want to risk that do you?" He pointed out, trying to appear calmer than he felt.
Dracula hesitated for a moment. Why did she value his friendship so much? He wondered.
"If she wakes up I will let you go. If not, you better pray for a quick death." Dracula threatened, glaring at him.
"Master, where will you sleep?" Henry asked, changing the conversation.
"I can't sleep. Not now. I'll be fine as long as the sunlight can't find me." He answered.
Dracula bent down beside you and held your hand. It was so cold now. Only a couple hours ago it was warm and soft. It was almost hard to believe it had only been a couple hours, it felt much longer to him.
Henry yawned, unable to stay awake for another second. He took off his coat folding it into a makeshift pillow and rested his head on it against the cold floor. He missed his bed, but that went up in the fire. Stupid townspeople. He thought to himself as he fell asleep.
Van Helsing didn't sleep either, although he wanted to. He couldn't even remember the last time he actually had a good night's sleep. His thoughts kept him up most nights, mostly about creatures of the night, but sometimes his thoughts were of you. Like how cute you were when you crinkled your nose when you were thinking or how you used to laugh when he did something you deemed silly...the little things that made him fall in love with you. If only he had told you how he felt...at least you would have known. He forced tears back, but it was becoming extremely difficult as the hours passed and you didn't wake.
"I love her too you know." Van Helsing confessed.
"What?" Dracula sneered, glaring at him from over his shoulder, but Lawrence paid him no mind.
"Yes...for a long time. I never told her." He said his voice cracking.
"You're a fool!" Dracula scoffed. Van Helsing nodded in agreement.
"I suppose I am. Maybe if I had this never would have happened." He said with a sigh.
Dracula spun around to face him. "What do you mean by that?!" He snarled. Van Helsing got up off the floor where he sat and came face to face with him, staring into his cold, dark eyes.
"I think you know what I mean. If I told her than maybe she would be with me instead of being dead because she fell in love with you!" He accused, finally losing his temper.
"How dare you!" Dracula angrily spat, smacking Van Helsing hard into a wall. "She could never love someone like you!" Van Helsing rubbed his head, feeling dazed. "You're pathetic! Weak! A miserable excuse for a mortal!"
"Am I? I'm not the one that has to hide from the sun or cower in fear of the cross." Lawrence retorted, lifting himself back on his feet. He looked at you and took a deep breath, knowing that you wouldn't have wanted them to fight.
"So much blood has been spilled, Dracula. Haven't you had enough?" He asked, trying to reason with him.
"No. Not till I have spilled yours." He hissed.
"Then I guess we are destined to do this forever." Van Helsing sighed.
"Forever is short in the life of a vampire. But you will never see it. " He swore through gritted teeth.
"I don't want to see forever. I'm tired. I've seen enough death and despair to last several lifetimes. I will eventually die, but there are things that are worse than death." Van Helsing admitted. Dracula's face softened a little as he mulled over his enemy's words in his mind.
"Get. Out." Dracula said, turning away. He didn't want to admit it, but Van Helsing was right. Living forever did feel like a curse. There were many times he wondered what it was like to be really dead. It must be glorious...
"I would like to stay a little while longer..." Van Helsing started to ask, taking a small step toward Dracula.
"Don't push it Dr. Van Helsing. I'm letting you go alive. Don't make me change my mind." Dracula warned.
"May I have one last look at her then?" He asked. Dracula nodded stepping aside. Van Helsing slowly walked up to the coffin and reached inside to touch your hand. It was still cold as ice.
He felt tears well up in his eyes again. "I'm sorry Y/N...for everything. If only it were me in that coffin instead of you. You of all people on this Earth didn't deserve this." He whimpered before placing gentle kiss on your forehead.
"Goodbye."
As you lay there, you tried to call out to them to tell them that you weren't dead, but you couldnt. It felt like there was an invisible force controlling you, preventing you from moving at all. You couldn't even breathe, it was almost like you were drowning and your lungs were being filled to the brim with water. Everything hurt. Wherever you were it was pitch black. You were frightened. If only Vlad or Lawrence could help you, even Henry. You didn't even know why you were here...oh right you're dead. Is this what it was like to be dead?
From the darkness, a small voice said, "Go back."
"We must go back." It implored you, sounding desperate.
"We? Who is we?" You ask. Suddenly, a bright light appeared blinding you. Squinting, you could make out a strange, blurry figure and faint whispering could be heard emanating from within the light. As you looked closer, it became clearer and you realized who it was. It was Dracula. You tried calling out to him once more, but he couldn't hear you. His appearance was different. He looked younger and was significantly less pale. He had longer hair that fell to his shoulders, even his clothes were different. You saw behind him the castle the way it once was, like in your vision. Your heart skipped a beat when he turned to look at you, as though he just noticed you were there. Then you finally felt yourself move, but you weren't in control. It was like you were a puppet being pulled around on strings.
Dracula reached for you, pulling you into his warm embrace, which you gladly welcomed. "My dear Maria, how I've missed you." He said, kissing your cheek. Maria? Who's Maria? You wondered, feeling a twinge of jealousy.
"I've only been gone a few hours Vlad." You said to him.
"But to me it feels like an eternity." He told you, kissing you again. "I love you."
"I love you too."
Without warning, the light flashed again and you found yourself in a church. You did not recognize this place, yet it seemed to familar. Before you stood Vlad and behind him was...Lawrence? No it couldn't be?! It certainly looked like him. The face was the same, but the hair was different. It was only slightly shorter than Dracula's and he was sporting a goatee. He didn't look as happy as your beloved. In fact, he looked extremely bored. Was this a wedding?
You slowly walked up the isle towards them, feeling all eyes on you. You didn't even know who any of these people were. All you knew is that you wanted to get out of there. You glanced up at Vlad and saw how much love glimmered in his eyes and you felt your nerves instantly calm. The room just seemed to fade away and only he mattered. He held out his hand for you, helping you up the last remaining steps.
"You ready, my dear?" He whispered.
"Of course. I can't wait to start my new life with you. " You happily answered.
"As am I."
Then the scene disappeared again much to your disappointment, this time to something a little less happy...this time you found yourself in a duel against Van Helsing. At first you weren't sure if it was a friendly duel, but quickly realized that it very much wasn't. This was a duel that could only have one victor.
"It should have been me on the thrown! All of this should have been mine!" Van Helsing yelled, smashing his sword into yours with a loud clang that rung throughout the great hall. You parried and sent him flying backward with a hard kick.
"The thrown! The castle! You..." He lunged at you once more, but you blocked it and counter attacked. He twisted your blade around his and pulled you close, your faces inches apart.
"You could never have me." You spat, pulling away.
"You wouldn't have had a choice." He retorted with a sickening grin. You could feel the anger building up inside you. With a swift flick of your sword you slashed him in the face, leaving a deep cut in his cheek. He chuckled. You were a fiesty one. Too fiesty for your own good, he thought.
"That's the difference between you and Vlad," You began. "He doesn't tell me what to do."  And with that you swung at him once more, this time breaking his sword in two. You held your sword to his neck.
You caught a glimpse of your reflection in the blade. That's when it dawned on you. You were Maria, Dracula's wife, and you remembered him telling you that you looked like her. It all made sense now. This is why you were having these visions. They are your own memories. Could it be that you and Maria are one in the same?
"Surrender traitor." You hissed, your blade mere inches away from his throat.
"I am no traitor." Van Helsing said.
"Fine then, a coward."
He rolled his eyes."At least I fight my own battles. Where's your beloved now?" He pointed out, looking smug.
"Fixing your mistake. Don't think I don't know what you've done. Vlad might trust you, but I sure as hell don't." You stated, inching your blade closer to his neck.
"And what will he say when he finds out that you've killed me?"
"The truth. He has no reason to doubt me." You answered confidently.
"Well, we'll find out sooner than you think." Confused you followed his eyes over to where Dracula now stood.
"What is this?!" He asked looking at the both of you.
"Vlad, he is a traitor. I caught him giving information to the Turks. He is league with the enemy." You explained. While you were distracted, Van Helsing quickly pulled a small dagger from within his sleeve and slammed it deep into your stomach. You dropped your sword falling to the floor alongside it writhing in pain. Dracula's heart stopped. It felt like time had slowed down as he ran to you and held you in his arms.
"Maria, no..." He let out a small cry, running his hand over your wound.
"I had to do something...I love you Vlad. I told you the day I married you that I would do anything for you." You told him, cupping his cheek.
"Then don't leave me...I can't live without you." He whimpered, sensing the end was coming for you.
"We will meet again, my love." You promised, sealing it with a quick kiss as the life faded from your body.
You could feel everything fading away again as you returned to the darkness. You mind was dizzy from everything you had just witnessed. It all felt so strange...
"Go back." The voice repeated again.
"He needs you. Go back!"
Suddenly, you felt whatever was holding you back had finally released you. Eager to get out of there you ran through the darkness hoping to find a way out. You didn't know where you were running, but you had to try. The darkness seemed endless and just as you were about to give up, the ground gave way below your feet and you finally woke up.
You gasped for air feeling as though you were drowning. You sat up clutching your throat, trying to catch your breath. Why was it so hard to breathe?
"Y/N?! Dracula gasped. He couldn't believe it. You were alive. It worked! It wasn't too late after all!
"Y/N! You're alright! Thank God." Van Helsing sighed in relief, smiling like he never smiled before.
"You!?" You exclaimed, backing away from him, your past memory still fresh in your mind. He looked at you feeling confused and hurt. Before Van Helsing could say anything, Dracula appeared at his side reaching out to you.
You looked over at him, eyes wide. "Vlad...I...I remember." You breathed.
"What?" He asked. "What do you remember?
"Everything."
