Ok are Na'vi placental mammals or not?? All female Na'vi seem to have breasts for some reason but a look at pregnant Ronal in the new visual dictionary shows she has large breasts similar to a pregnant human woman who would because of pregnancy's affect on mammory glands.
Tumblr media
I cannot think of a reason that makes sense enough to explain why the female Na'vi and only the female Na'vi would have breasts, or symetrical lobes on the chest that resemble breasts, that would be so large specifically during pregnancy. Lol maybe we should just accept that it was inevitable that mammal-ism independently evolved on a planet similar to Earth with sapient lifeforms eerily similar to humans lol.

i wanna see you look at blitz turnaround sheet tbh :3 his design is one of the more interesting and better ones from either show, and my only real issue is the eyes on his gloves, his ripped up suit cape thing, and his feet being literal high heel boots. like if he takes his shoes off, his feet are high heeled shaped. octavia actually has the same problem! thats not related but just another iconic vivziepop design trait i hate personally lol
ty for askin, i understand your thoughts. from what i've seen so far, blitzo's the one that seems the most clean/consistent. but i still found inconsistencies that bothered me when i looked closer.
disclaimers; --this will be an analysis of the character model's consistency, not their general design. --model sheets can feature intentional stylization for a character whether or not it makes real-world sense, so something that feels like an inconsistency to me might not to someone else. i certainly wouldn't give two shits if someone disagreed with how i stylized something unless i felt they had a good point. --obv we can't know for sure but we can assume the animators have gotten along ok enough with what they've been given, and/or they might have better more exact guides by now on the production, as the turnaround i'm analyzing is from around 2019.
at the end of the day this is just for fun. if you agree with some things i say here, awesome, but please don't treat my opinions as facts. all that said, this is my personal analysis.
Tumblr media
let's go top to bottom starting with the horns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
onto the head...
Tumblr media
another disclaimer is that i understand squash & stretch is a thing, personally i feel if you are going to show how a character's face squashes and stretches it should be on a separate sheet like for expressions because putting it on a turnaround makes it look as if the face looks vastly different at different angles, it creates confusion. onto the torso area...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
onto the coat...
Tumblr media
onto the tail... (mainly issues with inconsistent markings)
Tumblr media
one of my biggest issues with having detailed designs like this for hand-drawn animation is if you do not organize them well then you/your team will have difficulty drawing them consistently. i would expect to see inconsistencies like these between scenes or between differing animators bc that is just something that happens... but for them to be on *the* turnaround is frustrating to me bc imo a turnaround should act as your baseline so your team can draw your character as consistently as possible. but if you're handing them an inconsistent turnaround you're more likely to wind up with even more, possibly worse, errors/inconsistencies. if that's something you don't mind in your animations, more power to you. and with that i'll close this analysis off on some inconsistencies that i felt were more personal grievances.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and that's that! this, again, is my personal critique of an image from 2019 that i'm doing bc it's like a fun study for me. it is not meant to be an attack. ty for giving me this suggestion anon.

Haii Admin, do you think the games are well written? I’ve seen many people complain about them but I agree a bit. Imo rejet changes too much stuff and are far from consistent and I wish they were but then I really wonder if there is any reason that caused that 🤔
// In all honesty, I don't think it's possible for an otome game to be 100% well-written because there will inevitably be plot or character discrepancies from one route to the next. However, as long as they aren't too serious, that's not necessarily that bad.
My main issue isn’t actually about the inconsistency of the writing, but rather how they sometimes villainize certain characters when they are actually not in the wrong. This happened way too many times for me to count, but the moments that stick in my mind the most are from:
Ayato’s LE route: Literally everyone blamed him for not listening to their complaints and pieces of “advice” (despite the fact that they were also not supporting and making fun of him) when he had all rights not to. His brothers played a part in his trauma and have been ridiculing him for centuries without ever apologizing or, at least, trying to improve their relationship with him, therefore isn’t it obvious that he wouldn’t listen to them?? I get that the past is in the past but you can’t make someone experience reactive abuse and then expect people to think that HE is the bad guy. I’m actually really glad Japanese players criticized the heck out of his route because I’m pretty sure Rejet saw that and regretted their decisions afterwards.
Yuma’s LE route: The route itself was sort of enjoyable but wanna know what it wasn’t enjoyable? The way Shu was treated. Look, I feel bad for Yuma and his brothers and I understand they’re very devoted to Karlheinz and wished he gave them those powers instead but why diminish Shu’s struggles? He was obviously bothered because he didn’t even ask to inherit those powers but he ended up feeling so guilty to the point that he stabs himself and dies in the good ending. At the very least… it was really sweet how his last words towards Yuma were something like: “I hope we meet again in another life”.
Ayato’s CL route: I’ve seen a lot of people hating on Ruki for the things he told Ayato, particularly in the fifth chapter, but he had a valid point. While it's true that he wasn't nice, if I were Ruki, I would have been upset with Ayato for defying my orders and endangering himself and Eve/Yui too. I know everyone felt bad for Ayato when he said, "You don't understand my situation!" But how was Ruki ever supposed to do that? None of them had their memories back when that occurred, and he can’t read minds, lol. The sole defence here would be that after regaining his memories, Ayato genuinely regretted what he had done.

idk how you can say it’s not also mark’s fault when a lot of the issues stem from the actual writing - it didn’t feel like rick’s writing and it’s more similar to mark’s work. rick has his issues but he doesn’t write like this. plotwise and consistency issues yes that’s def rick. and it doesn’t make sense that mark apparently did research about details but didn’t say anything about the details with biana or Hypnos. both of them including the editor failed on that. Also when the preview first came out, people said was bad. that was all mark, they told us. mark also confirmed that in the least, the first 10,000 words of tsats were all him too, with minimal editing. also a lot of the complaints/negativity are just on tumblr i highly doubt publishers will look at it or that their career will be ruined lol
I'm not saying that Oshiro is blameless - I'll admit, I'm not familiar with their other work, and yeah there's definitely too much within the book all over the place that feels messy and disjointed. I'm more used to being very clearly able to pick out Rick's writing so I was definitely able to see parts that were him, but there were also some details that very much told who was writing that portion very clearly (One actually kind of interesting one is every time you see use of s's versus s' in the case of like, something belonging to [noun/pronoun ending in S], the s's is Oshiro and s' is Rick, because throughout the entirety of the Riordanverse, Rick always uses s' and this book is the first time we see s's as well.). And there are absolutely plenty of scenes in the book that I know for a fact were written by Mark because they've explicitly said they wrote them and I do think those scenes are bad!
But I have said since the book was announced that I was very afraid people were gonna try to pin all the blame on the queer/nonbinary author just because they're new. I'm very used to Rick's writing at this point and how it's progressed, and a lot of the particular failings I noticed in TSATS are particularly consistent with recent series. I'm saying Oshiro is not the sole reason this book is bad, which is something I have had people attempt to argue to me already. I definitely don't think co-authoring this book improved it's condition much at all though. It probably did only make things worse, particularly in terms of how inconsistent everything is within it. Even if it was just Rick though I doubt we would have avoided how wildly out of character everything felt or the huge timeline changes/errors and incorrect details.
And you have entirely valid point I fully agree with as well - the editors should have totally stopped this mess WAY early on. It's honestly wild to me how little this book seems to have been run by an editorial team, because there's so many even just structurally wonky sentences or inconsistencies (again, switching s's and s' between writers) that you would normally expect to be caught and fixed very early on. It feels like the editing team didn't bother at all to catch awkward places where there is no bridging the gap between who's writing what, or do any kind of consistency checking even within details of the same sentence (Nemesis giving Nico the pomegranate seeds, and him apparently already having some?) or chapters (Will and Nico separately use the same exact simile at different times, seemingly unrelated to the other having used it), let alone multiple books. It makes me wonder if the Riordanverse has a series bible at all? That's writing a series 101.
And I agree that so many of the inconsistencies don't make sense if Oshiro did so thoroughly read through the series making notes, because then those inconsistencies should have been pointed out and corrected during the writing process. I really wish Oshiro had been able to smooth out detail inconsistencies, and given how Oshiro works as well as a sensitivity reader I would have really hoped we wouldn't have gotten stuff like the troglodytes again, or some of the general scenes that felt so viscerally bad like nobody considered any of the other implications within them.
Basically, yes, absolutely, it's everybody's fault and it's everybody's fault equally. But I have already seen people claim it was solely Mark Oshiro's fault, which it was not. It was just as equally the fault of Rick and the editing team.

Hello friend! I hope you do x reader stuff so if not you don’t have to bother lol. Can I have a headcanon where Ryusui has a “commoner” girlfriend. Like she’s not poor but she’s definitely not rich like Ryusui. Thank you! I hope your blog does well!
Nanami Ryusui with a "commoner" s/o!
Woow just seen this and already worked on it!! thank you so much!! hope it grasp at least the idea of what you asked for and sorry in advance if there is some inconsistency in the phrasing QwQ
Tumblr media
He's thankful with his brother, why tho?
Welp as both web users and into the "geek" culture you meet the older Nanami first
I know this is a Ryusui headcanon, but bare with me a little
Befriending Sai was relatively easy, long chats about videogames and other hyperfixation went smoothly, and in no time both dared to call each other online friends.
By your interactions with Sai you learned some things about him and his life
First, he is part of the Nanami conglomerate, that explains the flamboyant ways of his brother, and all the things both make(that's the other thing too!)
Sai has a younger brother and sometimes he's being dragged by the latest, here and there
Sai isn't forced tho, and by now you guess is just his brothers ways to make some kind of brotherhood or sibling bonding
And then all the planets lined up and in one of those tremendous projects your presence was there for Ryusui to catch on
Now, he really is ambitious and cool
"I desire you"
You may not be a super genius like his brother, but you're his friend and also comfortable to be with
At first his direct speech and chivalrous touch made you a little fussy
Usually people don't express like that, with such honesty, real honesty, specially with the darling treatment
And he is serious about it
He knows, he has the upper hand when talking about wealthiness, and he squeeze that to get to know you better
It started as a hang out with your friend and his brother (Ryusui dragging you both to his desires)
Then it was just Ryusui taking you out to dates places where both can have fun and spend cool time together
He never cared about if you were a "commoner" as you said about yourself, for him that doesn't change the fact that yourself now, is what he wants
He just take that as a opportunity to show you the world
For real, he is ready to swarm you in endless of experiences and feelings that he may provide you
In the end, that's his love language, gift giving but in his flashy way
And if you are a little overwhelm, he to willing slow down for you
He's respectful with that, you can speak out your boundrings if something is really to much for you
What do you mean with taking you to dinner at the Eiffel tower and a stroll in Venice is too much for a date hang out?
Its okay then, we can go to a much calmer place like Fiji
By this point you both are an item, at first was him the one whom start up with the flirting, but you gain enough confidence (and obviously some liking) to fire back with the flirt
You may thought that the way he'll make it official would be in a Ryusui way, but no, he thought about it, but then, there isn't anything grand enough to express how much you mean for him
So he is casual and smooth
In a normal (by this point the places he took you became kind of normal) date (yes a official one) declares to you (more like proposing)
You swear this is the first time seeing him not so confident

(person whose tags you reblogged on that ask about the anime here lol) I think what a lot of Bones defenders don't seem to realize is that this isn't just a case of us whining because we don't get what we want, like us complaining about like "they didn't draw this panel Exactly How It is In The Manga, how dare they!!!", we're not being nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking; these kinds of supposedly minor complaints probably wouldn't bother me in another show, because no adaptation is perfect and there will always be differences in how the panels are adapted, but in specifically BSD it bothers me because of the bigger picture, which is the fact that all of these tiny blunders are a direct result of them not understanding what kind of series BSD is and the tone and feelings each scene in the manga is meant to convey -- they see it as a shounen and adapt it as such, like you said. It's not about these moments in of themselves that are the problem, but because there's SO MANY of them, and they all add up, and they speak to the aforementioned much larger problem. I also just think that's kind of ignorant to just act like a season(s) with a downgrade in art quality, so many reused frames and animations, and disturbingly long static frames sometimes is in any way acceptable as a finished product??? This isn't about me and what I want, this is about the fact that they CLEARLY suffered to get this out and that is NOT OKAY. THERE ARE SO MANY GLARING PRODUCTION ISSUES (have been since season 3) AND THAT IS NOT OKAY. Not for the people who were forced to work on it, not for BSD as a story, and not for Asagiri and Harukawa! And not for the fans either, of course, but I emphasize the first three the most. It's just pure laziness and greed on the part of the Bones higher-ups who wanted it to be like this, and that will never be acceptable, for anyone. The quality of the anime has been significantly better the last few episodes (literally the instant Akutagawa kicked the bucket...) — by which I mean, they're doing the bare minimum for an adaptation, which is better than they usually do! — but I sure couldn't tell you why...! It's left me ecstatic, happy, and excited to watch lately, which is such a relief from constant sadness, outrage, and feeling insulted, but that still doesn't change the fact that it should have been this good THIS WHOLE TIME, and that there's absolutely NO REASON other episodes had to be sacrificed for the better ones: they should have been given enough time to do all of it justice (again, as much justice as Bones can ever do with BSD lol, but still. Season 2 is still so dear to me for a reason, and it's not just because of the nostalgia I have from watching it in 2016). Sorry for rambling more about this in your inbox asldjgflds, but tl;dr I just feel like our complaining comes across as bitching about scenes not being a perfect 1-to-1 panel recreation to a lot of people, when it's so much more than that — it's about BSD as a whole not getting the treatment it really, truly deserves, and how heartbreaking that is to see. It is heartbreaking to me to see how much Asagiri apparently loves the anime, from what he said at Anime Expo, when his story deserves so, so much better than he seemingly is even aware of. And I will always give Bones due credit when they've earned it, like I have the last few weeks, so I'm not even always constantly ragging on them, but even that praise comes with the caveat of "there's no explanation for why the quality is suddenly better now, or why it's so inconsistent in general, and I shouldn't even have to praise it so much, because this level of quality should be a given."
Yeah I agree that Bones has repeatedly demostred a very faulty understanding of the manga tone and even of the themes it carries on– even though there's also a chance that the shift in tone was intentional. They saw that undemanding shonen sold better than seinen (which may now seem easy to disprove, but the same probably wasn't as evident back in 2015 when the bsd anime was announced), so they made the marketing choice to declinate bsd so that it could cater to a shonen audience too, and stuck with that decision. That would make sense although in the end, as you said, it resulted in a series that feels deeply disconnected in tone and themes to its original, all while the narrated events stay the same.
I do wholeheartedly agree that if you need so many reused frames and to resort to static frames that drag on for several dozens of seconds, then your season simply isn't ready for release. C'mon, seriously, an original op and ending are the bare MINIMUM. The only reason why they didn't postpone the season release is greed. Not to mention (very much needed to mention), it's harmful for the animators twice: on one hand, because it necessarily puts them under a lot of stress and overworking conditions in order to churn out an entire season in such a short timespan; but I also feel like we shouldn't overlook the other aspect that is just... How extremely saddening and disheartening it is to not be able to dedicate the time you'd want to your art product, and seeing it published in a way that looks rushed and unfinished. I think it's important to acknowledge the frustration animators are likely to experience when that happens, especially because most times it's people who love their job of artist and of course work hard so that the result is the best it can be. But yeah the thing is: it's important - no matter how unpleasant - to say, it's not okay, because otherwise a low quality product is only going to become the norm.
I agree there was a noticeable quality improvement in the last three episodes (4-6), and I may be wrong, but I think it's reasonable to believe it's because the first three episodes had to be prepared in advance in order to be ready for the pre-screening that took place on the 8th of July in Japan. That may explain why the later episodes have been so much better compared to the first three: they simply had more time to work on them, and it's possible they're keeping working on the episodes even as they're airing. But I do agree... It's very saddening to see. Like of course, I agree, I *AM* happy the last episodes have been good (the last one was especially enjoyable!), but there really is that big ache given by thinking about what the Fukuchi vs. sskk fight could have been if only it was given the time and care it deserved. Sigh. It was just a very unfortunate coincidence for everyone, because, bias aside, it was really a pivotal moment in the whole manga... I mean. C'mon. Atsushi is the protagonist, but is yet again not treated as one because of, once again, marketing choices. It's a bit saddening. With season 4, I was dreading for when the season would have ended; with season 5 I regretfully must admit that I found myself again and again just hoping it would end already. Because even now that the animation has improved significantly, I can't stop thinking of what episode three should have been - what it had the right to be, as no less important than any other episode -, and I feel like my enjoyment of the season is just ruined.
One last note, and I know it's not what you meant when referring to panel-by-panel adaptations, and feel free to consider this my own pet peeve, but. Studios should be able to notice when they're working with the most iconic panel of the entire manga and should treat it accordingly. I'm cool and chill but what they did to the chapter 88 Akutagawa panel is unforgivable and I will resent them forever because of it.

I know you have not uploaded in several years and might not even see this, but I wanted to say thank you SO much for your amazing explorations of Gale. He is a very complex and often misunderstood character and I think your meta posts on him hit the mark perfectly. If the spark arises I hope you will return after the full release :) Thank you again for all your wonderful posts! Have a nice day!
Hello!
Thank you very much. I am still around, it's simply work and other games have got my attention, and after playing EA so many times, I am already burnt out to the bones. I am also deeply disappointed with Larian's latest changes.
Hopefully, after release, I will continue with more analysis if the game is worthy of that. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how well these analysis of Gale will hold with the apparent rewrite of his character. If the new description of him ends up being true and it's not a terrible lie to the player, since nothing of that was shown or hinted in EA, these analysis will fall apart. In fact, if he ends up being another boring, overused, cliche wizard who wants power because he wants to be the biggest wizard of Toril :rolling eyes:.... I may lose any interest in him. All what made him interesting and a bit "original" within the context of Forgotten Realms has been erased completely with that new description.
I'm also disappointed with Larian in general, because it's obvious their two fave chars are forced through the player's throat like Liara was in Bioware's case. You don't care about them? It doesn't matter, they will always take priority in conversation and scenes, they will be key in showing another side of the main plot (as it was Fane in DOS2) and the rest of the companions become secondary or forgettable.
And Karlach's final face is a horror. It's a variation of Shadowheart's face, a barby-Karlach, because clearly Larian feeds bro gamers who want yet another doll-faced woman. I find annoying that nobody complained for this change: her first potential face (not the placeholder), with half face burnt and scarred, hard eyes, and a longer and pronounced nose, was the face of a warrior who went to hell and back... now you have the baby-doll face, Red!Shadowheart, almost, lol. It's a bit unsettling. It reminds me when Larian made their big-boobs lizard women in DOS1.
At least they did what I thought it was a must: to truly write Wyll, because that char was inconsistent, lacked of depth in comparison with the rest of the other companions, and was, basically, a future Beast (dos2) in BG3. That's why I didn't even bother to write a general overall analysis of his character. I suspected he had to be written at some point because it's was a cardboard character in there, just there to be your black char token. You know, the black char we add to a game so we look "progressive" but still has bad development as a char or it's simply shallow when compared with the depth of the other chars. Pretty much like Larian does with their lgbt representation too.
Larian's lgbt representation also bothers me. It is mostly hidden in books and lines of text in this world (yes, yes, Astarion is the only char shown and written lgbt openly, but the rest of the world has no lgbt integrated chars, or the few two couples we saw in EA are unhealthy and horrible-the gnome lesbian-or absolutely hidden in one single line that, if you miss it, you can confuse them as brothers -the husband gnomes-). We can have a long discussion about how Larian does playersexual characters that are not any representation of lgbt, because they are not written like bi but hetero, and their "bisexuality" only appears when you romance them (and this was done in DOS2 too, with barely a line or two hidden in Lohse's origin to show some potential, little bi inclination). It's so strong how they write their characters as hetero, that even in several parts of the romances of DOS2 you have descriptions where it shows that the default was clearly "man tall and woman smaller", even when in DOS2 world that may not apply to some hetero couples (elves and lizards). But all this discussion about playersexuality is a long one I'm not even sure the fandom can have at this point. I wish to be wrong and see more lgbt characters naturally integrated to the world, and not reduced to short stories in books or to whom you romance with your Tav. But I doubt it. Larian follows the masses. And Masses care nothing about this. Thank you for the ask, and have a nice day too!

personal mphfpc recap since i finally finished reading all the books
spoilers for the entire mphfpc series ahead. this will mostly be me talking about the book's imperfections, because when i love a piece of media, i also love criticizing it to its core
so, i first read the books 1-4 in 2020 and i was SO obsessed!!?? i wasn't really into social media and fandom culture back then, so i didn't really have anyone to talk to about mphfpc and i remember being very sad about that. i also remember trying to make fanart of the characters, but i REALLY sucked at art back then and to this day i find old mphfpc drawings and cringe at them. maybe it's time to redraw some of those...
anyways, i read the fifth book when it first came out in germany and i kind of hated it lol. i was really rushing through it, because i couldn't wait for the fugh reunion. so i kind of missed out on the whole plot because i only cared about fiona and hugh.
basically, i recently finished rereading the books, because nostalgia or whatever and i'm kind of obsessed again. so...i'm just dumping some thoughts on the whole series here because on tumblr i can actually find ppl with mutual interests.
first of all there's literally SO MANY inconsistencies and plotholes?? what the actual fuck ransom riggs. idk how much of this is prevalent in the og books, because i mainly read the german translations, but sometimes riggs just forgets who hugh is i guess?? he mixes up his and horace's peculiarities once and at some point he is referred to as howard. who the fuck is howard. these are literally the most easiest mistakes to fix. does he not have an editor?
i'm not even gonna talk about the movie. i have a whole seperate post for it
it sometimes bothers me how only certain characters seem to serve a purpose. in every novel emma, enoch, millard and bronwyn are clearly the focus (besides jacob) despite the fact that the other characters are equally interesting and likeable. hugh, horace, claire, olive and obviously fiona are just NOT THERE for like the entirety of AMOD. are you kidding me
the entire second trilogy...is kind of a cashgrab. of course i'm happy we got more books and i liked them, but it's kind of obvious that the author simply had some pictures left and saw an opportunity to make some more profit out of them. that's not bad, but these books weren't necessary for the overall storyline.
the thing with the prophecy in DODA...the entire book was dedicated to finding the other lighteaters, but they don't really do anything in the end?? i kinda get why noor has to be the *main character*, but why introduce julius and sebbie when everything could have played out the same way without them?
julius and horace...is it really that hard to age julius down? it would've made that a lot less creepy. there is literally no reason for julius to so much older than horace. not sure if this could be considered queerbaiting, since i don't know a lot about that topic. would be grateful if anyone elaborated more on that.
hugh and fiona are still my favorite thing about these books THEY ARE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY AND DESERVED SO MANY MORE SCENES UGH. i don't need another jemma kiss i need FUGH. there is just so much potential and plus, we never really get to learn about their backstories?? like we know that they're from the 1840s, so how did they get into a loop a century later?
how was fiona able to *whisper* to hugh in DODA, she literally had her tongue cut out, hello?
so many characters with lots of potential either die or just disappear. lilly, sam, althea, peter-and-joel...ring any bells??
why is horatio kinda
ok i'm sorry
the photos are so funny sometimes, because at times there will be a photo of, say, emma and in the next book there will be another picture of her and she just looks like a different person. because, obviously, that's a photo of a different person. but apparently, ransom thinks we're too dumb to notice that.
i would just love it if there'd be storylines that focused on each character individually, because again, WASTED POTENTIAL
ricky deserved to have a comeback, i feel like this is general fandom consensus
introducing v, just to kill her off? idk man
despite all of these criticisms i just made, i fucking cherish these books
since pjo gets a new awesome reboot i think we deserve one too
i also wish the fandom was bigger but maybe it's a good thing that it's kind of niche. i don't know.
uhh i guess that was my not-so-little rant and yeah...enjoy this post i guess

Digimon Tamers - Episode 8
Hmm this episode was just okay. There were some really nice animation moments, but it kinda felt like there was a lot of drawn out fluff. I still enjoyed myself, but I spaced out a couple times so I guess it didn't have me super gripped.
Notes:
Impmon was a fun little asshole in this episode. It's funny how he doesn't ever really get the reactions he wants. Renamon just kinda ignored him and Guilmon is too innocent to realize he's being trolled. Love a goofy villain who's bad at being evil. (I'm sure he'll get something darker to do eventually tho)
Terriermon has such an interesting personality. You would think such a cute little guy would be nice and affectionate but instead he's very blunt and says whatever's on his mind without much care for other's feelings. The way he inappropriately reacts to things yet seems to have a sort of wisdom...neurodivergent digi? (he does kinda look like autism creature lol)
The fact that Guilmon has a hobby of burying and digging up his food makes me think of enrichment for a caged zoo animal...at least he can technically leave
This episode did a really good job of making big digimon actually big! Adventure struggled with that at times (Greymon's size in the movie vs. the anime for example). I feel like showing off the hugeness of digimon and making them feel intimidating is all about the angles/perspectives they're "shot" at. Devidramon and Growmon felt properly intimidating in this.
Asanuma-sensei's JP voice is very monotone. She kinda sounds dead inside. She also barely reacted to a giant goth dragon flying inches from her head lol. I'd be screaming and peeing my pants and she was just like "what was that...?"
It's hard for me to not read "Grow" as grow...I get that it's from "growl," but that romanization is confusing out of context...
Takato being sucky at strategizing with his cards felt relatable to me lol. I'm bad at strategy games...
Seeing Guilmon digivolve for the first time was exciting and I look forward to seeing more Growmon in the next episode. I'm not super bothered that his design didn't change much. It's just annoying that digivolution is so inconsistent and sometimes they look completely different and other times its more gradual. Also, wait...when he was born Takato's digivice had to scan the drawing of Guilmon but this time it just kinda happened. Hope we get an explanation for all this eventually...
Speaking of unexplained mysteries, Culumon randomly shows up right as Guilmon is digivolving and his head lights up. The timing was suspicious, but I have no idea what the connection is yet.
I don't really get why Renamon and Terriermon couldn't have helped Guilmon with his fight. Renamon was like "that's Guilmon's prey..." which sure, makes sense with Ruki and Renamon's style of battling for power, but what was holding Jian and Terriermon back exactly?

I hope you don't mind me bothering you so much. I just watched Only You, Sango and I was really struck by how much care and creativity was put into a filler non-canon episode that centered around the series' B relationship. It's very sad to me that Yashahime couldn't put together a crew of people who had love and respect for the world of InuYasha and all that comes with it.
You're never bothering me!
There is more than one writer in the anime team at Sunrise, which sometimes lead to inconsistent character writing. Inuyasha, for example, will sometimes be an angry jerk who is mean to everyone, and in the next episode he's all cheerful and friendly?
Tumblr media
Like in episode 72, I thought Inuyasha was way nicer than he normally is and it was pretty ooc. Except this is obviously less bothersome than him being mean, lol.
So yeah, not all fillers are equal. Some are bad but there are some good ones out there, like the one you mentioned! And the same is true for Yashahime, the writing is insanely inconsistent. Inuyasha in the flashback was stupid and it looked like his character had completely regressed to how he was early in the OG series. But then in his interactions with Moroha he was also surprisingly open and affectionate.
The main writer for Yashahime is Katsuyuki Sumisawa, and from what I can see in his ANN page, he was not responsible for the script of episode 78: Only You Sango. From the interviews he gave about Yashahime it's pretty clear he doesn't understand the appeal of the Inuyasha series and some of the core theme of the series, which is one of the reasons why Yashahime ended up being such a mess. That and the fact that the quality of the writing did not matter since it was only supposed to be a cash grab, lmao.

my brain is poopoo i forgot to add one thing sorry again 😭
i don't think the scoia'tael could ever change their mind about roche and ves simply because they're wiping out their race. no matter the cause the elves would never forgive them nor would they wanted to cooperate with them in any way unless it's convenient. they can't just say 'oh i was just protecting my country but now im different let me help you' and the elves would forgive them or let them near. they don't need their pity nor they help. the least they can do is leave them alone and help non-humans other ways.
this is the main reason why i can't bring myself to ship rorveth...yes they respect each others abilities in canon but that doesn't erase the fact that roche is still an oppressor (again no matter the motives) and iorveth would only force himself to work with him but never respect him as a person and be "besties". neither would roche tbh because iorveth is no saint and also killed his fair share of innocent people. they fucked up each others lives too much for their relationship to "work" and there's no place in their heart for forgiveness.
okay i won't bother you and your inbox anymore. this is pretty much everything i wanted to say so take care!
Under the cut cause my answer was rambly and I'm trying to save people's dashes lol
Yeah that's pretty much how I feel about the Scoiatael too! I do think Iorveth would eventually accept Roche's help maybe in a military venture if he really needed it and if Roche was genuinely offering, or that they could get past their issues with each other in order to work through a crisis. They do genuinly share a enemy in Nilfgaard, and Roche's inability to see that is his downfall. But then once the immedaute crisis is over... why would Iorveth stick around or even let Roche walk away cleanly?
I just think this is something that can only exist in fanfic, and can maybe be fun or interesting to think about/read about when expanding on the possibilities of their characters, but I personally wouldn't WANT it to be canon, because it would create inconsistencies in both their stories and established motives - which you did say in your last ask, I'm agreeing! (I mean I don't want true friendship/romance, not them being forced to work together. I want that. That would be fun. RIP Iorveth at the battle of Kaer Morhen :( you should have been there king!)
(about your other ask) Idk, I actually don't have any issue with people labeling Roche as a flat out monster. If you're coming at it as someone who's primarily sympathetic to the Elves, it's like you said, it really doesn't matter what his motives or situation was, he was participating in their violent oppression as a leader. He still has a lot of fans who won't acknowledge how evil his work pre-tw2 was, that's a greater problem to me (not talking about you ofc). And Iorveth...lmao other than him be willing to let those women die in the burning building, I can't help but cheer for his bloody methods of justice in ways the Blue Stripes will never get out of me. It's the witcher, everyone's burned a few churches, at least Iorveth was doing it for a good cause 😩
As for Roche, I personally I like him best as a metaphor for armed patriotism - perhaps more historical than modern, but I think both work. Men born into poverty who are coerced into the military by governments that don't value them at all (but like to give them medals as propaganda/empty motivation) while only using them as tool in their violence against other nations/people. Being devalued, abused, covered in blood, becoming a mass murderer all for some paltry veteran discounts and a lifetime of trauma. That's the character work I'd want to see with him, but for future witcher games, I'd be much happier to see Iorveth come back and regain his spotlight, so who really knows.
This is long as hell sorry, thanks for sharing your thoughts I appreciate the conversation!!
OH. right yes. Anais. What the hell we needed a followup on their relationship, that could have been so good and hopeful and constructive. Someday !!!!

hi! i had a few questions about the judging functions:
1. similar to your perceiving function descriptions in the previous ask, would the judging ones go something like this:
fi>te: i make decisions based on what’s important to me and the facts, but what’s important to me matters more than the facts
te>fi: pretty much the opposite of above, the facts are more important
fe>ti: i make decisions based on what’s best for everyone and what makes sense to me but what’s best for everyone matters more
ti>fe: the reverse, what makes sense to me matters more
is that sort of along the right lines?
2. someone who thinks hurting people is morally wrong in general, but hurting CERTAIN people is morally fine - is this more an example of fi (being inconsistent with values due to what does/doesn’t bother them) or fe (values shifting based on circumstance)? for instance - hurting or even killing someone who has harmed you or someone you love, who goes around being horrible to others, or who is a threat to society in some way is morally alright, but targeting a random, possibly innocent person is wrong?
3. what’s your personal opinion on the above type of moral question and what was your thought process in coming to your conclusion, especially in terms of your functions? if you don’t mind answering (if it’s too personal just disregard this question lol)
tysm!!
I think those are more or less correct, with perhaps a few “explanations” added on…
To a FiTe user, how I feel, how this makes me feel, how this impacts me, outweighs the facts or external opinions. For example, an FP may get disturbed by knowing there are bodies left on Mount Everest that have become “sign-posts” for other climbers. Aka, once you reach the “blue parka guy” you are halfway there. Let’s say it bothers them because their Fi values human life and to reduce a human body to a sign post devalues the sanctity of their life. Their logic accepts the facts that these bodies stay there because they can’t be brought down; it would risk other people’s lives to recover them, but that doesn’t change how they feel about it. The facts can’t alter their inner sense of “no, this is wrong/bad.” A TJ, by contrast, might be disturbed by that or not, depending on how their Fi interprets it, but the facts are undeniable – the bodies are there because it’s not safe to recover them, and it reminds others of how dangerous this decision is; it can’t be helped, short of not allowing anyone to climb the mountain, and that would be ignoring personal freedoms, etc. Their feelings come secondary or as a “supplement” to the facts of the situation, which are the baseline for their thinking and decision-making, a default stance.
FeTi is pretty much as you articulate it – I am responsible for everyone else and their well-being and their feelings, and so I will suppress my own needs or wants to accommodate everyone else, because their happiness makes me happy. TiFe does not feel this way, because they are dialed out of people’s emotions, but many of them do have a sense of “my life impacts other lives and I don’t want to do damage,” even though they may not know what that “looks like” in the way a FJ might have views on that (they will reduce it to something like “people shouldn’t litter, for the greater good” and/or “it would be better for everyone if we all did XYZ”).
Your second question involves moral thinking, and all humans have gray zones where their morals are contingent – it’s wrong to kill innocent people but not people who are trying to kill you; it’s okay to hurt an abuser; if I catch someone beating a dog, I am going to kick their ass and feel no guilt; it’s inborn in humans to want a sense of “justice” and to desire “revenge.” Laws exist for this reason – killing someone in self defense as they attack you is very different from planning to murder them four years later, and so the system kicks in to determine what is/what isn’t permissible, from a high Te stance of “if everyone did this, would society crumble? If yes, we have to prevent everyone from doing this by establishing rules.”
Targeting a random person is seen as bad because it’s happening to an innocent bystander, and IMO, people should not live in fear of never knowing whether they will be safe walking down the street. It’s easy for us to wrap our minds around revenge or a “reason” for violence, but hard for a nonviolent person to understand “senseless” violence and/or attacks. Society also categorizes things in terms of people – it’s worse in our eyes for some random person to walk up to a pregnant lady and punch her in the stomach than to punch a guy in the face, because of the collateral damage. Humans are catered to think in terms of “degrees of evil” – but whether this is instinctual in us, or the product of social conditioning, I don’t know. I do know that some things are engrained in our psyche – no society ever celebrates a traitor, for example, and even hardened criminals all hate and abuse pedophiles in prison.
What’s my opinion on that kind of moral question? That it’s interesting to discuss, in an attempt to figure out what motivates people, whether our morals are entrenched or a product of our environment; since no one is raised in total social isolation and is free of all outside influences, it would be hard to figure out which came first, the chicken or the egg – the moral stance, or the adopted moral stance. I do know that humans are the same throughout history, that we think and feel and react in similar ways to our ancient ancestors, even though our thinking has progressed into more modern values.
My thought process was just as I wrote it – I come up with answers as I type them; thoughts separate from them don’t exist, and I parse things through the implications, the psychology behind it, and then collateral damage. I treat most things with detachment and want to explore them without my feelings weighing in (possibly because of my impartial 3 fix, I don’t know). In a more personal sense, I think any kind of vengeance is wrong, that hurting others is wrong, and that it’s wrong to kill people unless there is an extreme circumstance driving it (self-defense, protecting someone you love, etc). But I’m also aware that in my angriest moments, I’ve had extremely violent thoughts and that I would be capable of evil by acting on them, so I can’t really condemn others who “snap” in extreme situations when they want to “stop something from happening.” Evil is inbred in human nature, and humans are capable of anything in the wrong circumstances. That’s one reason I’m not partial to judging people from the past by modern values, because I cannot say how I would act in their place, and it’s arrogant to assume I would be morally “superior” or “enlightened.”

WAITTT, I just saw ur reply to my previous comment. I didn't like Tim too (lmao). The debates between Tim and Damian fans can (and do) get so annoying that I just started disliking his character (not the greatest). Reading Red Robin on a whim was when I started to warm up to his character, he was just some weird dude. The sentiment about him being a chew toy...so real, and perfectly captures how I feel about him. He is so cringe-fail to me.
To touch upon Red Robin relationships...I wish I could peek into the writers' brains and conduct experiments to begin to understand what they were trying to accomplish...Tam, then Lynx II? Rekindling moments with Steph, and I always forget the last girl's name... I just never understood why they thought giving him so many love interests was necessary for the plot (he is quite literally spiraling, absolute rock bottom, can not go any lower, and yet forced so many women into his life; were they expecting me not to feel bad for them?). On top of that whole mess, the last few issues were like a fever dream, I can not properly summarize them for the life of me if asked.
On a side note, Circle K has also inspired me to pick back up my reading on Steph. I started in the summer, and the summer session (I completely forgot I signed up for classes?) completely ruined that for me...
Very random but, what are your thoughts on WFA? Everyone on Twitter is fairly convinced it's absolute garbage. I never read it myself, but I see complaints about characterization all the time. It also seems to be a lot of people's introduction to Batman-associated characters and content, so I can understand why people are upset if it truly is inconsistent with canon writing.
Young Justice anon (as always, hope you're doing fine and that school is manageable and well!!)
it’s so interesting that red robin 2009 is what softened you up to him because that run still remains a sour point for me HAHA like he is compelling but he is sooo annoying </3 getting into his origins in a lonely place of dying and then robin 1993 was what slowly got me, though he still actively annoyed me for a lot of it… it’s Weird i know i like him in a silly weird way where he annoys me but. yeah. he is my chew toy ❤️‍🩹
oh absolutely it makes NO sense that he had so many love interests and. Ok rant incoming let me also put this under the cut because this got LONG
the thing that bothers me is that none of it was EVER addressed. for sure it was a questionable decision on the writers’ part but none of them had the thought to maybe address the fact that he was flip-flopping so badly? i consider tam to be the strongest out of all of them (as in the one with the most chances to have been with him) and even tim acknowledges that at some points and YET. he kept having those weird moments with lynx. like obviously he and tam weren’t necessarily in a relationship but There Was Something There and of course while tam remains ‘loyal’ to him, tim just gets to mess around with other people… and then when he needs something he relies on tam’s affection to help him out… and then of course the way their falling out was set up was sooooo obvious and i don’t think certain plot decisions are necessarily Bad when they’re obvious but they were clearly gunning for the usual ‘superhero withholds important information from the civilian love interest and they break up’ and i just feel like There were so many OTHER things they could’ve had a falling out over 😭😭😭😭 like Come on…
okay that got longer than i wanted sorry for the impromptu rant 😭😭😭😭 i just. argh. most of my grievances with it is the treatment of the female characters LOL but it’s honestly par the course for tim, he has a long string of love interests and those relationships have been. interesting. quality aside my favorites are probably tam and ariana, if only because they had So Much Potential. anyway!!!!
STEPHANIE MY BELOVED <3333 once you find the time (and i hope you do so you can rest! good luck with your classes <3) i would HIGHLY recommend batgirl vol 3, it’s her batgirl run and it makes up for all the shit that went on in war games (which i didn’t actually read, well i did read some of it, mostly steph’s parts, which i wouldn’t recommend because it is… heartwrenching) and it’s just SOOOOO good i have SOOO many thoughts on it. one of my favorite runs i’ve ever read!!!
umm i’m kind of in the middle on wfa. i read it when it initially came out and it was pretty neat! i liked the art for one. but i’ve stopped keeping up since then. as an elseworlds comic with no bearing on current canon, it can be fun! and it has some things i would like in canon (like them keeping babs as oracle, when current canon refuses to do so), but thats hmmm probably it? and honestly it’s not totally my taste, if only because characterization can be a bit iffy (there was one moment with jason early on that kind of turned me off a bit because. i’m sorry. He would not say that. but in fairness to wfa we have a lot of that going on around now in current comics! wrt him, dick, tim, etc) and well. i like drama HAHA. i have also seen that it is the ‘easy way’ to get into the bats and yeah, there’s nothing wrong exactly with that being someone’s introduction, but it should be kept in mind that it’s not canon and things aren’t like that at all in current canon at all! but yeah not everyone does that and it does admittedly get kind of annoying 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
it is kind of funny in that initially wfa wasn’t a true representation of the ‘batfam’ (at the time it was coming out. i think anyway) and more of an ideal glossy one that, well, ignores a lot to get it to that point. but now we seem to be having that go on in current comics, at least with their attempts to try and absolve bruce of his abuse (which i think they are doing in a dumb way that does absolve him of responsibility and agency and thus makes it. well. redundant. because he isn’t owning up to it and it ignores years of him doing it) so it is kind of. equally bad. except that wfa is elseworlds so it honesty can get away with it but uhhh. current comics don’t have an excuse and that’s. well. Hngh. kind of creates double the bad effect but ANYWHO!!!!!!
SO. YEAH. those are my thoughts. many thoughts. so sorry about that i just got carried away 😭 anyway!! good luck with your classes!!! thank you sm i am doing better too ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 i hope you’re doing well, take care of yourself!!!!
(also i am gonna go ahead and make a tag for you ^_^ under yj anon … if u have any emoji preferences lmk i was trying to think of something yj-relevant but not sure…)

Hey do you think that Felix kinda gaslighted Athanasia into giving Claude a chance since she was five? Like why is he encouraging this relationship with he knows that Claude abandoned her on purpose and he witnessed him almost kill her? And he was relying on her to "fix" Claude as if he was misunderstood.
And lily too, both kept pushing this idea onto Athanasia when she knew otherwise. I think this might have influence her decision in going back to him when Jennette had suggested she'd go.
I wouldn't call this gaslighting but his support of their relationship definitely influenced her decision to give Claude another chance. It's almost as if Felix cared more about Claude than Athy. Claude has done lots of things that Felix has been ignoring: torturing people, killing the concubines, killing his marriage candidates, killing a marquis for an alleged intimacy with the neighbouring Castorea (Side Story: I Became a Father One Day) threatening to kill others for daring to be annoying or boring. Sometimes Felix objects weakly but then Claude tells him to shut up and he does. Amazing that he doesn’t dare to go against Claude but expects it from child! Athy. Don’t get me wrong I like Felix but the fact that he let LP Athy be executed without a proper investigation and Lily killed alongside her leaves a bitter taste in my mouth especially when the manhwa lowkey ships Felix/Lily.
You could interpret it that way that Felix' top priority wasn't Athy reuniting with her family and having a healthy relationship with them but her healing the bruise Diana left on Claude's heart and the family thing was just a method to achieve that. In the Lovely Princess he was content with Jennette "healing" Claude and didn't make any big attempts to mediate between Claude and LP Athy although he was sad about the treatment she received. In the end it didn't matter who was fixing him.
This makes Felix look morally grey but c'mon the only other explanation I have is that he's stupidly naive which also doesn't fit with his Knight of Crimson blood persona. As Claude's guard and advisor he should be capable of recognizing a person's true nature. Claude never bothered to hide his ugly side from him. In LP Athy's own words Claude has always been cruelly honest from the start. Felix is just that devoted to his master. He was willing to risk Athy’s life to improve Claude’s well-being.
As for Lily: inconsistent character. No one in their right mind would want the child they raised in the same room as the man who murdered a dozen women in cold blood. Felix was friends with Claude and saw him in a good light but Lily was never that close to Claude. She has the worst impression of him, he kills everyone in the Ruby Palace, dumps a child on her and tells her if ever word about it gets out he kills everyone there, and then he appears again wants to play daddy and suddenly attempts to kill his daughter again lol wtf.
If Athy had a support system from the start that wouldn't encourage her to go back to her abuser she wouldn't have gone. Lucas offering to kill Claude doesn't count, he's basically Claude 02 anyway. Everyone she cared about is connected to Claude. If she was losing Claude she was going to lose the others too.

least favorite warriors ship(s)?
no pressure!!
aside from obvious ones like incest/pedo/grooming/etc.
ships like bristlefrost x rootspring, snowfur x thistleclaw, graystripe x silverstream, and more recently, nightheart x sunbeam
the latter two don’t nearly annoy me as much as the first two. i don’t think these are the worst ships — they just annoy me the most personally. btw i don’t have anything against anyone who ships these!!
i’m gonna focus on bristleroot for this because it’s my least favorite ship.
a *really weird* misconception is that people dislike these ships because they “aren’t gay” or are more heteronormative. i don’t have any issue shipping het ships like tigerdove, ivyfern, etc. and i don’t dislike bristleroot because it “comes in the way of shadowroot.” i’m not petty like that. i don’t even ship shadowroot either.
when it comes to warriors shipping, i think it all really just comes down to preference. i don’t think there is a single ship in the series that is “perfectly written.” the fact the series is so inconsistent with events especially makes it impossible to decipher how a “good” a relationship is canonically. what does annoy me, though, is when people try to push forward a “best ship” in a book series that can’t even reach the bare minimum
it bothers me about bristleroot is how bare-bone minimum the relationship is. it has all the landmarks of a relationship, sure, but it doesn’t really go past “one male one female cat in love.” they don’t even have a relationship dynamic canonically. there’s a whole bunch of issues with the relationship that has probably been reiterated by others thousands of times so i’ll spare you the rant.
what really annoys me though, is how people try defending the bad qualities of bristleroot by saying it is a “healthy” warriors ship. this isn’t an achievement, this is literally just the bare minimum. in non-warriors media, a well-written relationship adds a lot to the story. warriors doesn’t really do that much, which is why people think a ship just being healthy = well-written. it really all just depends on personal preference at some point.
sorry that was long and goes into problems w warriors fandom as a whole lol. but again if you ship bristleroot that’s great :)

Hmm OK I'm about to just direct bitch about something I read in a tag and I'm aware that that's unkind but it's such a weird take to me, I feel like I need to express my thoughts
So, this is what they said:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This feels so strange to me. Broadly:
This isn't boring neutral coworker stuff, it's direct antagonism and also they kind of aren't friends?
They're relationship is antagonistic right now specifically because of whats happened in other series - so, not a lack of continuity but the opposite
The fandom point is bizarre in a number of ways
So Number 1, what we've been seeing between Sam and T'Challa in this series so far (since issue 1 let's be clear) is T'Challa being a dick to Sam unprompted. He's condescending to him and generally being prickly, and Sam clearly bothered by it. This is actually kind of fun to read, in particular T'Challa's insistence on calling him "Sam" only - it's interesting, T'Challa is intensely bothered by this one guy in a way that is kind of more intimate than their early encounters.
And, yeah, I don't think they've ever been friends necessarily. They've worked together a lot of times. They seem to like each other. Sam seems to really look up to and respect T'Challa, and T'Challa seems charmed by and impressed by Sam. But they weren't close by any means - they don't hang out outside of work etc. What we're seeing here is that same dynamic turned a little dark, purely because T'Challa is being a dick.
Also, unless something goes horribly wrong here on the writing side of things, it's clear that this antagonism is a plot thread that's been set up, currently expanded upon and will be resolved in the series. It's there on purpose and hopefully will end with them closer than before... and if not that, it will at least end with them putting this shit behind them (again, so long as the writing doesn't completely collapse behind the scenes which does happen in comics a lot lol)
Number 2, I agree that they seem to have forgotten that T'Challa made Sam's original wings, and actually also made his current get up, or at least the shield. I'd love for them to talk about that.
That said, I think you could bring it up in a way that compliments the current drama. Sam is indebted to tchalla, it's part of why he respects him so much, but also might make him pull his punches when the guy is being a dick... or does he? Maybe t'challa thinks he ought to, but maybe Sam doesn't care.
So, currently in canon, Wakanda is experimenting with a more democratic system, and T'Challa is having a personal crisis. He's still being the Black Panther, but in a more secretive, quasi-exiled way, and he's having difficulties reconciling his identity as his nations hero with not being their leader - he feels untethered. His current series (by eve ewing) is about this and it's good, I recommend. But, in short, he's more grumpy than usual because he's having the least relatable personal crisis of all time.
In symbol of truth, tchalla picks a fight with Sam (instead of just talking about how Sam mostly accidentally broke some wakandan laws). Sam is there in jeans and a t-shirt ((no suit, no wings, no shield) and wins.
This is, presumably, humiliating for t'challa, and he is canonically very pissy about it. You could imagine that the fact that he made Sam's gear could add to this dynamic. Sam wasn't reverent to him, didn't perform gratitude and then had the audacity to prove that he didn't really need his help anyway.
But yes, this is why T'Challa feels this way, its why he's acting like this. This is absolutely continuous with current canon. It's not an inconsistency. It just makes sense in universe.
Now, if you'd rather they just didn't write this drama because you'd rather they dropped this thread and just portrayed them as friends, then say that. Like, that's a completely valid opinion idk why you wouldn't just say it instead of acting like it's inconsistent writing when it isn't.
Number 3 is where I am confused. So, no one cares what anyone says on tumblr, that's a freebie. For twitter, yes sometimes writers do listen to fans in ways that end up not working out but is this person seriously suggesting that some writer would deliberately make a series worse to appease fans of other series? Think about that for a second. No one is sitting at a desk going "aha! I'll make the series bad, that'll show em!".
Not that I actually think the series is bad but you get my point.
So, the Fantastic Four are literally family. X-teams tend to be a mixture of family, found family and coworkers. This is true for avengers teams to, although they often have a greater percentage of coworkers who don't really know each other. This is because the x-men more often live together, and are often formed out of necessity because the humans are trying to kill them. The avengers are more often literally co-workers; a bunch of individual heroes, with separate lives, often living planets away from each other, individually recruited to a constructed team. Like, that's fine. That's not anti-avenger propaganda from fantastic four fans, it's just the literal canon situation a lot of the time.
This particular team has two people who used to be married to each other, then a bunch of people with varying degrees of familiarity and friendship. Two of them are currently having drama, and it's arguably the most emotional they've ever been about each other. This sounds like a good thing to me! This kind of storyline is what takes two characters from coworkers to something more meaningful, you know?
It's a particularly weird complaint to bring up with Sam. In the MCU, Sam is very much an avenger, was in the team for years and a pivotal part of it. In the comics, he comes and goes, joined to replace hawkeye then quit, led them for a bit in the 2010s (but that was mostly a different team) then quit again.. etc.. He seems to have a difficult relationship with the concept, and is only occasionally actually friends with these people (Steve, Jane). Honestly, it feels ooc when he's portrayed as friendly with some of them. But I mention it because he's a weird character to focus on to make this point.
Anyway, the series has gone out of its way to portray closeness between tony and carol, who do actually have a deeper friendship than many of the others here. But for most of these dynamics, the groundwork is there, but if you want them to be portrayed as close friends or a found family or whatever, then that actually needs to be developed in, you know, storylines. You can't just dump them on a team and say "they're besties now".
You might, in fact, want to write something where the current situations that the characters are in, and their recent interactions, affect the way they treat each other. Idk. Maybe even with some cattiness and antagonistic banter? And then maybe let that play out? Idk it's just a thought
