Plural Future as Plural Pride
Y’all, when people say “the future is plural”, they mean wider plural. They mean supporting everybody’s experience and normalizing when that experience is of being more than one inside. It includes traumagenic systems, but the place for us is the acceptance of our existence rather than the traumatization of new systems.
I want a plural future where everybody knows that we’re plural and is okay with that. I want a plural future where people are taken for their word until we have evidence against them. I want plural people to come out of the woodwork and be proud and have space in mainstream society. I do not want to hurt more people to get more traumagenic systems.
Of course it sounds like wanting to traumatize people if you only believe systems who formed from trauma, but anecdotal evidence is also evidence and no proof is not proof of nothing. It actually means being plural and being proud, and I think that’s possible even if you only see the traumagenic systems. It’s about being open and authentic as much as you’re comfortable, and letting plurals be safe as themselves. There will always be plural systems, even if they are only traumagenic, and we also deserve to be seen and thrive with our own plural presentations.
(Not everybody with a CDD is multiple, not every multiple is a plural. It’s okay if you don’t want to participate in this movement or don’t fit into it, but it’s not okay to lash out because some of us do want to have pride in our plural identity. Plurality is an identity label, even if multiplicity and CDDs are not.)
“The future is plural” is an offshoot of Mad Pride, which also does not work for everybody with a diagnosable psychiatric condition. However, it does work for many people, and we are not bad or wrong for wanting a place to exist. You don’t have to participate, but please look into different communities (and the cultural contexts we’ve grown from them) before saying that our pride means we’re hurting others or ourselves — including saying we’re allowing abuse or encouraging trauma. We’re not. We’re already here, will continue to be here, and we are allowed to be happy and want recognition in social spaces.

"The future is plural"
No the fuck it isn't. Why would you want the future to be plural. You are just wishing for children to go through trauma, to be put through fucking harm to the point of where their brains cannot take it. If the future is plural than we as a society have fucked up and failed. We should not exist! It is not a good thing for us to exist! We exist due to repeated trauma in childhood. The future should NOT be plural.

the future is plural!
I have DID. Life in our system can often be painful, messy, and complicated. It’s been challenging learning to communicate, get along, and relate to one another. Trying to come to terms with our trauma and begin to heal is difficult and scary! But over the past few years, we’ve been able to make some real progress.
And we owe it all to each other!
We have kept each other alive through our darkest moments. We are each strong and capable in our own ways. As we learn more about each other, our past, and who we want to be, our love for each other has really grown! I’m so proud of my system, I love my parts, and even though life as a system isn’t easy, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world!
To me, “the future is plural” means a future where plurality and neurodiversity are accepted rather than scorned by others. A future where I can live openly as plural, and my plural siblings (ALL my plural siblings - with or without DID) can feel free to be themselves, too! A future where talking about your system is normal and encouraged - where systems of all sorts can be as vocal as they wish about their plurality without fear of backlash. A future where every system has access to the support they need, and we can come together to share our experiences, laugh, love, and learn together!
That’s what “the future is plural” means to me. We think it’s a future worth striving for!

Now, why would you dare me to embarrass you and your pals like that?
Tumblr media
I appreciate how you wanted my attention so bad you posted me to not one, but two subreddits.
Tumblr media
Makes a girl feel special! 🤣
Tumblr media
I have actually never seen Wikipedia cited as a source about endogenic plurality. Though I do see anti-endos all the time, when asked for sources, telling people to just Google things.
Anyway, here's @guardianssystem's document filled with academic papers about endogenic plurality:
I've compiled my own, but honestly, theirs is better organized than mine.
And in the interest of fairness, here are all the anti-endo papers debunking endogenic plurality:
Tumblr media
Sorry, I forgot. Those don't exist. Oops. 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
Echo chamber? LOL!
Weren't you the one spouting a bunch of lies on Tumblr, got totally debunked, posted the people who debunked you to r/systemscringe to have a hugbox where fakeclaimers could assure you how the people who contradicted you are all fakers, and then blocked everyone who disagreed with you?
Weren't you also the one who, when shown a quote from an expert in dissociative disorders who worked on the DSM-5 saying that a disorder isn't a disorder if it doesn't cause distress, argued that the people who defined what disorder are must be wrong about that definition?
You're a misinformation machine who can only find support when huddled in cringe subreddits. Don't try to talk about people in echo chambers.
Also, you know most of psychology is just... listening to people? That's how it's been as long as the field existed. DID (or MPD at the time) was a recognized disorder since long before the first brain scans were conducted on DID patients. It's saying something though when basically every single scientist who has ever researched endogenic plurality has said they believe it's a real thing, or that it could be. While absolutely zero academic papers have expressed that it's fake.
There is also an fMRI study into tulpa systems that's been in the works, but results have yet to be published.
Tumblr media
Sure, if that's what you'd like me to call you, Crazy. 😊
Anyway, Crazy, you should know that just because you personally find something scary doesn't mean everyone will or that the thing is bad. Personal preferences are a thing.
In a study of tulpamancers though, most generally reported their lives becoming better after the practice.
78% reported improvements in their mental health, and 91% on overall life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are many out there who would jump at the chance to have someone there with them that knows them intimately, and to never have to be alone again.
If it's not for you, then so be it.
But it's certainly not something to be afraid of.
And maybe, for those who are willing to commit to the practice while America struggles with an epidemic of loneliness, it's something worth being open to.
Tumblr media
This is actually pretty fair.
But that's now, and I'm looking at course of history and trends of plural acceptance.
300 years ago, any plural would be viewed as demon possessed and end up tortured or killed for their plurality.
70 years ago, all plurality was seen as a mental illness, and it was common to force plurals, as well as anyone else associated with mental illnesses, into asylums.
30 years ago, the first real plural communities were able to connect on the internet and form in small numbers.
8 years ago, the first studies into endogenic plurality started being conducted. 4 years ago, the ICD-11 acknowledged that you could have multiple distinct personality states without a disorder. 2023 marked the first, but certainly not the last, time a system used their system name as an author of an academic paper.
Tumblr media
Recently, new plural resources have been designed and put into use. More servers than ever are using Pluralkit. And Simply Plural went from 100k users at the end of 2021 to 210k at the end of 2022.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Progress is happening far more rapidly than you realize. And you had best be ready for it.
Tumblr media
BOO! 👻
Oh, hey, I just realized... this is literal pluralphobia!
Tumblr media
Liberté!
Egalité!
Fraternité!
And yes, The Future is Plural! 😜

This is a plural positivity post, this is a post advocating for healing and to recognize that plurality is supposed to heal, no matter if you got yours from delusions, trauma, no matter if you created your system, or if you daydreamed it to life... plurality is supposed to heal you. We want more healers in the world, so we must plan the future as plural as possible.

“The Future is Plural”
No the fuck it’s not?? I HOPE NOT??? DID is caused by immense amounts of repeated abuse, why would ANYONE want that? Singlets need to get it through their head that, for the thousandth time, DID isn’t just ‘cut little friends in your head!’. Yes, systems do like to talk about (the few) positives but that doesn’t erase the OBVIOUS negatives??

"The future is plural" SHOULD mean "the future is more accepting of DID/OSDD" and not "The future has more and more traumatized children" are y'all fucking dense
The future should be ACCEPTING, not CREATING MORE OF A SEVERE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA DISORDER
I might just be hangry and more aggressive as a result but this is pissing me off beyond belief and anyone who's saying this fully meaning "more systems should be around" is stupid
I'm half prepared for people getting mad at me for this but idgaf you suck if you believe more systems should be around

So we heard back from Dr. Michael Lifshitz. He had something medical come up and he had to take almost half a year off, but he's better now and back to working on the tulpa paper. He's going to talk to Tanya Lurhmann about coordinating doing an AMA, which is exciting.
Also exciting is this:
Tumblr media
We'd love to hear from both the tulpa and general plural community thoughts on this, so we can get those back to Micheal.
Pinging @sophieinwonderland - if I recall correctly, you've mentioned a few games before that are great for training parallel processing. Can you, or anyone else, reply with links to posts about those or at least just the names of those games? Thanks in advance! :)
