#personal#and oh oh oh oh#so i have a first edition of red dragon from etsy for like. 13 bucks. killed that#and my partners got me the first edition of silence of the lambs for christmas and ohhh this is so cool#i love the weird font size at every chapter i like how big it feels#i love the cover i love the title so much more after reading#i love clarice and ardelia i loved how fucking werid hannibal was#just a weird fucking dude#and my friend and i have been having the MOST interesting conversation during this#cause she’s been getting into video’s dissecting the trans misogyny in the movie#and i’m comparing how it is in the books it’s been cool#especially bc a ton of the gender stuff explicitly saying gumb wasn’t transsexual#and the length the text went to emphasize how usually trans people were like more likely to have violence committed onto them vs into other#vs onto others#etc etc and then i just feel like how in the mr gumb chapters the way it’s explicitly clear that at every level he doesn’t view women as#people and clarice points this out as just another form of misogyny#i mean i have seen the argument of like you think youre trans you’re trans/ im taking ways of identifying ur gender in the 80s with a grain#of salt/ gumb showing eurphoria changing appearance#but i don’t know and maybe this is bc i read the first half last year#and the second half like in the last week or so#but i feel like the text was pretty heavy on emphasizing transsexuals as not violent with the character at john hopkins#FIGHTING to keep them out of the press with gumb and blocking off the fbi#that whole thing where lecter was either lying about the name or the theory and then the name being the lie#and some other in the text evidence but also some of the points im thinking of from the gumb chapters#could definitely be argued angle wise of just being like scary trans women uses other women for their own attempt of beauty while not#understanding what a real women is#i mean either way of intentions WHAT; a bad fucking impact even to today#also insane i finished like the last 80 pages at work and i got interrupted at the LAST two pages#also my heart was fucking pounding during the confrontation im not even kidding 😭

So I decided to read Cruel Prince because one of these popular book series has to be good and Holly Black wrote Spiderwick so I trust her more than other authors and I'm 100 pages in and so far I like the protagonist her and her sisters are all valid for the way they feel in this situation and I'm mad curious to find out why Cardan is so cruel and all that I guess

I love how one of my favorite artists just posted that Israel literally faked a terrorist attack and murdered their own civilians, which is just Holocaust denial but in a different font.
One of my favorite creators just posted about how a valid "solution" is for every Israeli to deport themselves and go back to where they came from. We already tried that. We continued to get killed. This whole thing proves that we are not safe anywhere.
I love how white leftists have determined that all of the media/narrative is controlled by Israel (cough sound familiar?) and are refusing to vote.
People I know and love are still regularly posting dog whistles on their Instagram stories.
Former friends still dm me accusing me of being a zionist for allowing room to grieve for all the civilians that were lost.
These tears are not "crocodile tears" or "white tears." Not only are we going through a huge collective trauma and watching genocide occur in real time, but somehow it's every Jewish person's fault for purely existing.
I'm not sleeping. I'm not eating. I'm so angry and so fucking sad and now my forms of escapism aren't safe anymore either.
I don't know how I'm ever going to recover. I have been fundamentally changed while people are posting purely to vertue signal and feel better about themselves. I just hope that I can learn how to trust people again. I hope I can learn how to be soft again.
I refuse to be a "good jew." I'm so proud of who I am and I will never shut up about it ever again.

professor steve or boss steve?
👀
I don't know what this is but I chose professor Steve
One is the Loneliest Number
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry I’m late,” you bluster in through the door, “I got caught–”
You stop short. The room is empty. You check your watch, the small golden piece your mother got you before you left for college, and peer around once more. There is only one other body in the immense room. Your professor, Dr. Rogers.
“Oh, hi, I…” you sputter, “it’s not the wrong day, is it?”
The question strikes you as stupid the moment it hangs before you. No, he wouldn’t be here if it was the wrong day.
“Did I get the wrong time?”
He sits up, setting down the book on the desk before him. He looks unimpressed as he leaves on the hardcover of his copy of Wuthering Heights. Your own is a curling paper back with wrinkles along the spine. You bite your lip and teeter on your toes, turning your toes together.
He watches you, sliding the book loudly across the wood, “you are the only one. Seems like this wasn’t such a good idea.”
You frown and look above his head, at the face of the clock ticking on the wall. It’s almost twenty minutes past the hour. You feel worse for him now than you did running in late.
“I’m sorry, professor, I…” you look around awkwardly, “I was so excited but maybe someone else will show up. I don’t mind waiting.”
He seems less than heartened by your words. He sighs and looks down at the book, running his fingers across the embossed cover. You go to the middle row and lift your bag onto the desk, fishing around for your copy.
“Maybe we can get started without them,” you volunteer, searching for anything to kill the unease, “I really enjoyed the book, Prof–”
“Don’t bother. Go back and have fun with your friends,” he waves you off as he turns back up the aisle, “I won’t keep you. Obviously, you coeds have a lot more going on than some ancient tome.”
“Oh, uh,” you blink at his back, his broad shoulders stretching the tweed of his blazer. He talks as if he’s terribly old but he hardly shows it. There’s a few strands of silver in his hair but you can hardly tell as they blend into the golden highlights, “so, what do you think? Did Bronte mean to reprimand her protagonists or romanticise them? I thought the narrative was kinda condemning, don’t you think?”
He stops and pushes his head back. A long breath as he turns on his heel.
“Really? Most would say it’s overly praising, that it glorfiies Catherine and Heathcliff’s love,” he intones, “at least, most girls your age say so.”
“Well, I uh… found it almost annoying that Heathcliff refuses to change,” you explain as you sit down, “truly, but with Hareton, Catherine can grow…”
“Hmm,” he hums and walks along the next row, turning a chair around to sit, “tell me more.”
You rub your dry lips together before you find another thought. You don’t want to admit that you were scrolling on Reddit and a lot of your ideas were borrowed from the arguments there. Still, you came all the way here and you just couldn’t bring yourself to leave him.
You go on about the mirroring of Heathcliffe and Catherine, how their similarities are almost detrimental, as if they are part of each other rather than lovers. He nods thoughtfully as you speak.
“I don’t know, I think I need to do a second read,” you shrug as you eyes meet his. The intent blue irises nearly make you wither.
“I think you got it,” he allows his mouth to curve just a little, “thank you for humouring me.”
“No, professor, I–”
“I’m not stupid, the letters beside my name would at least suggest that,” he leans back in the chair and frames his book with his thumbs and index fingers.
You admire the cover, leather inlaid with the image of the literary amours, “yours is much prettier than mine.” You close the curling cover and try to hold it smooth, the blocked font offering little more than simplicity. “I got it from the second-hand pile at the student shop.”
“It has character,” he says as he reaches over, his thumb brushing yours as he slides it from beneath your grasp. He flips through the pages, the soft breeze of the flutter causing a short blond strand to droop down his forehead, “a special sort of beauty.”
He peeks up at you. You don’t know what to say. What he’s waiting for. You smile as his gaze follows your nervous fingers as they tap against your throat. You still the anxious gesture and look at the clock.
“Like you,” he breathes.
Your eyes drop back to him and you shake your head, “pardon?”
“Hm,” he tilts his head, “I didn’t…” he cranes to look at the clock, “well, I won’t keep you any longer. I guess you should–”
“Have you been to Marge’s? The new cafe down by the arena?” You blurt out. Your habit of rambling when you're addled never fails to corner you, “I was going to go there after and have some tea. Maybe…” you touch your cheek, suddenly embarrassed. “Oh, shoot, I guess that’s too forward. I’m sorry, I’m not… I’ll go.”
You reach for the book but he keeps it in his grasp. Your eyes meet his as he watches you, “I like tea,” he offers, “if you don’t mind the company.”

Fresh Ink
Summary: Dan decides to get a new tattoo that Em has inspired. She decides to be a little more spontaneous.
A/N: we don’t have a full oneshot, so have a lil drabble we’ve been keeping close to our chests!
August 2018
In the short time she’d spent with Dan, Em learned to not be surprised by the weird ways their days could go. From sitting on the couch for a lazy day, to being surprised with a trip to see the Reputation tour, anything could and did happen. Which was why she wasn’t surprised when she got a text from Dan saying he was going to get a new tattoo and wanted her to come with him. Daniel “I’ll just get a big one and then no more” Ricciardo getting a tattoo wasn’t a new thing and she loved the ink already on his body and the differences in the artwork they both had. But what did surprise her was what he was getting.
A couple of weeks before she’d sent him a text before a race. She was up watching and it had been a shitty practice and qualifying, the car kept failing on him. Her little Shine on, Handsome, text was supposed to just make him smile. She didn’t want to call and distract him, or wish him luck make him think his performance was what she cared about. She didn’t expect his little heart emoji response to make her grin and giggle like a kid. But her Sky Sports subscription was on the telly and she watched with rapt attention until he had yet another DNF and she wanted to throw something at the stupid car that kept failing him.
But they never mentioned the text after that. Not that Sunday night when he arrived at her front door with flowers and his suitcase. Not the next day when he kissed her goodbye before going to the sim and coming back to her that night. It was too easy to spend time together.
But he’d come back early from his summer break to spend time with her and had dragged her to a fancy tattoo shop in the middle of London to show her the perfectly printed font for her text. The “shine on” that was going onto his bicep where everyone could see it and she felt stupidly proud of it. He’d just asked if she wanted to be there while he got a new one and surprised her when they got to the shop. If he hadn’t mentioned that he knew the owner the tears might have come out in pride but she held them back.
“You are actually insane, you know that. Right?”
“I drive a car hundreds of kilometres an hour every single week. We knew that.” He grinned and gave her a shrug as the rest of his answer.
They were waiting for the tattoo artist to finish setting up as she looked in the glass showcase of piercings. The only ones she had were the gold studs in her earlobes. She’d had them since she was a kid and she couldn’t remember the last time she’d actually changed the studs in them. She just liked looking at shiny things and ended up staring at a tiny little nose stud with a small opal on it. The colours hit it and showed the iridescent sheen and she loved looking at it while Dan was talking to someone she didn’t know. At least he was until an arm went around her shoulder and his lips were against her temple.
“Find something you like? Cause I just found someone I really like.” He smiled against her ear, whispering lowly so only she could hear. “Gonna get a new one? You’d look cute with a tragus, or maybe something in your upper cartilage.”
“Nah, not really. Besides I don’t even want to know how much one of those cost here.” It was only half a joke as she glanced up at Dan and then back to the accessories.
“Did you plan to get a new one? You’ve loads of space in your ears for whatever you want.”
“Ha, no, I’m too cool for that now. I mean I always wanted to get my nose pierced. Mum would have killed me if I did it when I was younger and now I’m too old for it.” Her mother’s words echoed around her head that she’d look like a cow with a ring in her nose, how would anyone ever want to marry her with it? She shook her head a little to try get it away from her.
“You just turned 28. I’m barely 29. Are you calling us old?” It was mostly a joke.
“Definitely.”
“Meanie.” He squeezed her shoulder to soften the word. “But you should get it. You’d look really good with a nostril piercing. A little gold hoop would be cute and match the rest of your jewellery.”
“What if I don’t like it?” That knot of anxiety bubbled up a little.
“You take it out and let it heal over. It’ll leave a tiny mark that nobody will see. The only person who gets close enough to see something like that is me, and I won’t care about it.”
“Who told you that you’re the only one who gets that close?” It was said jokingly but she saw how he stiffened slightly.
“Hey!”
“I’m joking!” He was still tense and she squeezed his arm. “I’m joking, Danny. You really think it’ll suit me?”
“You’re gorgeous anyway but it’ll look good on you. Plus, there’s one there with a shiny lavender opal so I call it destiny.” He pointed at the exact one she was looking at.
“And I’m calling you a bad influence.”
“I’m a bad influence who’ll hold your hand when the needle gets close to your face. Sound good?”
“And I’ll hold your hand when you’re getting your tattoo?”
“See, teamwork.” He turned around and called someone over. “Em wants to get her nose pierced, do you have space?”
She grinned and started filling out the paperwork, signing it and picking out the temporary jewellery while it healed. And true to his word, Dan held her hand for the entire time.

i think i followed bc ur art looked rlly cool and i was trying to follow more hs artists after getting into the fandom a bit but it was the post abt them setting up elaborate death battle games in the woods that really made me stick around.
its funny i didnt care much abt dirkjake before then beyond like "oh neat the gay people i heard so much about are actually canon not just shipping gone wild!" but afterwards i was forever changed by being enlightened to the potential of that dynamic and i am a decent ways into writing a fic abt it. theyre abnormal
Hey anon if you ever write that fic please send it to me , I would love to read it or betaread. I'm glad I was able to get you into Dirkjake, they're rivals but in the way of love, otherwise known as IMPACT FONT "LOVE <3" DRIPPING BLOOD.
They're that brand of sliiightly unhinged that the normal hoes at the yaoi convention side eye because they both *seem* relatively normal but are actually pretty friggin unhinged. Here, have a little drawing of Dirk and Jake and their respective kill count in that godforesaken game they play together.

That post about aileron reminded me of how I think of nautica trying to erase skids from her memory like she just doesn’t know how to cope with death and loss cause she was removed from the wild ass war! It’s a weird beat in the comic but it speaks loudly to me
Ohhh yeah. These two are definitely a couple different perspectives on a theme, as it were.
While I have critiques of Nautica's arc in execution there (it's… got a LOT of flaws and IMO does not stick the landing at all, to put it pretty mildly; hence why I find exRiD overall better at exploring these ideas), I think it's a real shame that unlike so many other arcs in MTMTE/LL with issues or incomplete resolutions or whatever, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in taking the core emotional idea and running with it in fandom spaces? It feels like a really toothy emotional hook to latch onto that a lot could be done with as a part of the canon that is definitely a font of massive missed potential and lingering threads. (God, it really kills me ever since it was first pointed out to me how Nautica and Brainstorm's relationship might change because he's watching her do what Chromedome kept doing.) Nautica gets stuck in a kind of Cheerful Generic Girl Best Friend mode in fandom that skips past uhhh. A lot of her actual canon presence, when you really look at it!
It's especially interesting to think about because as a species their feelings about death are very different, right? Which IDW1 does address, and MTMTE specifically mentions this, with Cyclonus talking about how there's one version of the Guiding Hand myth that states Cybertronians are "immortal" because they killed Mortilus. Like. They don't have a lot of context for death as a regular, natural part of life that everyone comes into contact with in the day to day. Caminus isn't just full of civilians in the way you or I might be a civilian during peacetime; if you're a civilian for these folks, death is an abnormality period, a freak accident or whatever at most. (And even then: you're so hard to kill, it can't be common.) Cybertronians in the war are the weird ones for being used to it as a regular occurrence, and for both Aileron and Nautica it's not just that their friends experience traumatic and violent deaths, but that they die at all. It's got to be existentially destabilising in a way so many of the characters on that ship just can't relate to. (Tailgate likely could, but he's uhhhh, he's got other stuff going on at that point, so we will forgive him being too busy, lmao.)
Hell, I mentioned Brainstorm. He's an MTO. MTOs are the first of the currently living generations of their species to grow up with no memory of a society in which people do not regularly die; even once peacetime sets in, we see that they have reached the point in their species' lifespan where death by old age is becoming increasingly common and thus part of their cultural landscape. Those are a lot of Nautica's friends, who maybe want to help but have no easy way to really understand why she's reacting so strongly, you know?
Ohhh I love Nautica so much. Can you tell. Someone hug that poor woman good lord.

Batman the Doom that came to Gotham
"Review"
Tumblr media
Never read the books that accompanied this movie but its made good
Spoilers below cut
Standouts:
1. Sanjay Tawde
Voiced by Karan Brar from Jessie. Literally brought me back. I love that such a simple change to the character made me so happy evey time I saw him on screen. Like its Jason but its also Karan. I loved the little details they put into him. He's always reading, you can tell he's been lectured about his foul mouth by all the stand-ins he has for actual cuss words. He's happy-go-lucky former street rat Jay Jay. More from him in the future I beg.
2. Brucie
This movie is a stone throw away from hitting all of the baby girl marks for Bruce Wayne. Very not okay mentally. Very scrumply umply. Very much loving life with his babies🥺. He's a dramatic bitch, I could not be more proud. (Very in love with Harvey) like he would've been so happy on the high seas with his little family.
Also love an old timey batman. Like bruce shouldn't exist in any other time period after watching this.
3. Ollie
Very bimbo, very drunk, very he would flash his titties if he had them(and you know they're bright pink and pretty)
Ollie being a drunk will always be my favorite Ollie. He's serious when he needs to be but I'm glad we didn't get too much of that as it detracts from his beauty.💅🏿
Now about the the actual movie:
I remember going into this movie saying to myself they better not kill my babies and what the f*** did they do. Like after a certain point in the movie I didn't know what was going to happen. I enjoyed every crazy ass turn they took. I love what they did for the Cassandra (Kai Li)of that universe too. All the characters were their same weird freaky selves in different fonts, I hope they make something like this again😭 (I'm probably going to edit and add to this post cause I'm fresh out and still processing oml)
Honorable mentions
Yo I feel like Alfred was based off peppermint butler. Mans was un bothered.
Cracking myself open for Talia as we speak.
Ra's Al Ghul kinda a bitch in this, like Ra's is normally selfish/self serving and he was resurecting fucking starro or sum shit
I love not having to hate harvey
This is a must watch the only thing they could've done differently is releases this on Halloween. This was good enough for theaters even.

Hi! Sorry to bother but I really like your posts and i wanted to ask you ,what are your fave dynamics in HOTD ?
Have a good day/night !
not a bother at all!!!
i‘m a giant aegon stan so i can‘t help but be insane about alicent and him (mean, look at my mobile theme lmao). the mother mary-ism of her, seeing him walk up to the cross. woah. i‘ve written about alicent’s thoughts on her son here and have made a web weaving (atp shoutout to these post. they changed my brain chemistry)
I plan to do so much more once s2 comes! her trying to gaslight herself into thinking crowning him is the best thing for him (spoiler; to crown him is to kill him alicent!) and also his neediness and just the pure need to be loved and appreciated and him finally getting that (the coronation… woah). what have you created, alicent? she sees rhaenyra in him, she sees viserys in him, she sees her dead youth in him, she sees herself in him, she sees the disappointment, the potential squandered, she sees his blood, BUT DOES SHE SEE HIM?!?!?
other than that rhaenyra and aegon are so fascinating to me... there is regrettably not a lot there. I mean.... its targaryen custom to have the firstborn son marry his older sister (aegon 1 and visenya??? hello???) they were literally fated but it didn't happen and it ended in tragedy. they're such great foils to each other it makes me insane and makes me wish for a diff version of the show focussed on their dichotomy (i'll forever have what sort of brother steals his sister's birthright? and AFTER YOU, YOU ARE THE ELDER-> SHOOK!!!) -> THEY ARE THE SAME BUT IN DIFFERENT FONTS
another dynamic I'm getting into are alicent and cole -> the love is there, unspoken but it's always in the room. him being a surrogate dad to the green siblings is canon for me. cannot wait for him to become hand. him at rook's rest - will make me turn fully insane!

I dare you to let me go
(this is part 5 of my fic. Enjoy reading!)
Part 4 ↓
AVERY
"It means we can't be together anymore."
The words were ringing in her ears, like they weren't true, like they couldn't be true.
Breaking up meant separating. And separating was simply impossible. It was something that happened to other people, not to them.
It was so poetically tragic, being in the verge of losing the love of her life in font of the very castle they'd won together 5 years ago, the way he'd kissed her like she was everything. Like they were everything.
Except she was nowhere closer to letting him go.
"You don't really mean that. Jameson. We will work this out, however long it takes. I'll be there, I promise."
Jameson threw his hands up in the air and gave the saddest, dryest chuckle ever, "Ah, there we go! Another promise. I wonder how long it'll take for you to break that one."
"I screwed up, I know that. But I need you. I'm not letting you go." Even through her panic, Avery said that fiercely. He opened his mouth, then closed it again. They stayed like that until,
"You need me, Avery. You don't want me."
"I do!" She yelled in exhasperation and threw her hands up in the air. A second tear cascaded down her other cheek.
"Then why do I find myself wondering if you'd choose me if it came down to the foundations and me?"
"I haven't felt wanted because you haven't chosen me. You haven't chosen me in a very long time." A tear feel on his cheek. Then another on his shirt… hold up. They weren't tears.
It was raining, and before they knew it, the sky was filled with big, bulbous storm clouds and they were running to hide under the shelter of the garage.
"How have you come here?" Jameson asked, as if they didn't share heart-breaking revelations minutes ago.
"By-by car. And about that…"
"What?"
"I may not have told your brothers or Oren, who are staying in Edinburgh"
"You came without Oren? He'll kill you!"
"They would've insisted on coming, but I knew it was me you were mad at, so I came alone."
Jameson sighed. He was beyond exhausted at this point, and the thunderstorm was too severe to ask her to leave.
"Give me your keys"
"Huh?"
"Your car keys, I'll park it in the garage."
-------------------------------------------
Vantage had changed in the last few years. It still had the Victorian charm and the countless antique furniture pieces and paintings that probably cost an arm and a leg. Some were added by Jameson, too. He'd travelled and collected a lot of things over the years. Key word: him, not them. He used to charter planes, he hadn't chartered one in a year.
Now she knew it was because he bought one.
Jameson loved Vantage. He paid a great deal of attention to it's upkeep. Five years ago, it felt like a sad piece of property, lifeless. Now, the place felt… happier. Like when you were paid a lot of attention and care to.
Totally unlike Jameson.
"What a storm! Get inside quickly, dear" exclaimed Priscilla, the woman with graying brown hair, pulled up in a bun, as she handed them both towels.
"Thank you, Priscilla," Jameson smiled at her.
Avery looked at both of them, confused.
"Priscilla is the housekeeper of Vantage. She also has mothering syndrome" he smirked at Priscilla. She waved a had at no one in particular and blew a raspberry in the air.
"The mouth on you. You are too deprived of motherly attention, anyway. Now, dinner's getting cold."
Priscilla hurried away, leving Jameson and Avery alone in the foyer as they dried themselves. Avery couldn't take the silence anymore. "So, she's nice."
"She is," Jameson looked into her eyes for a second, and then looked away and blinked several times, add of trying to banish her. Like looking at her too long hurt.
Or like he was scared he'd want to give in again.
They made it to the kitchen while the the storm outside kept raging.
This was going to be awkward.
------------------------------------------------
Priscilla was so sweet, Avery wondered how Jameson didn't have diabetes yet. But she was a great cook too. Except she didn't have time to focus on that.
The call with Oren, with Grayson and Nash chipping in was only piling onto to Avery's already stressed out self. Even still, after Avery convinced them there was security at Vantage, and that they were both fine (physically), Oren reluctantly agreed to come in the morning and Grayson gladly agreed to head back home and look after the foundations for a while.
After dinner, Priscilla went to sleep and having nothing to do, so did her and Jameson.
Avery's room had the most magnificent ceiling, with stellar designs full of stars that seemed to be of gold and silver. It was mesmerizing, you couldn't look away of you tried, and if you did, what you saw was the rest of the navy-colored room with similar stellar designs.
Stars, Avery thought, I got this room for a reason.
"Everything you need is here. Call me if you want anything." Jameson told her.
"I do want something." Avery took a step forward. "You. I want you back."
Jameson groaned, "Avery-"
"Please. I'll do anything."
"I can't, heiress. I told you, when we'd meet. Trust is the last thing that comes to me, if it comes at all, and you broke that trust. Repeatedly. The least you can do right now is give me some time."
Avery wanted him to go now. Go, so she can sink into that pretty pillow and cry an ocean to match the one outside.
"Okay," was all she could manage.

Hey, Idk if you’re into sadodere stuff, but i found this game that was just released with some great artwork. https://mellowbile.itch.io/where-he-is-king
Don’t feel obligated to play. Just a recommendation!
Tumblr media
Normally I don't do sadodere stuff because, well, I am a yandere based blog, but I figured I might give it a shot. This game is very bloody and contains nudity, having an r18 rating on it. It is, however, very wonderfully made visually, with animations for the blood as well as quite a lot of CGs. The main character we see here, Friedrich “JunJingl” Marchosias, has quite a number of horrific forms, all of which look very cool and horrifying. You can try the game here, but be sure that you read all of the warnings since it can get pretty gruesome.
The story itself is pretty simple. The MC ends up meeting Friedrich, a god of sorts with a legion of demons hell bent on becoming the only god around. He and the MC had made a deal in the past, which allowed him to become powerful and he's come back to destroy the MC. Most of the endings involve running away from Friedrich, in an some horror form or another being unable to escape. Friedrich usually ends up torturing the MC, whether it be cutting her open and ripping out her guts, amputating her, eating her face, taking out an eye amongst other sorts, each with it's own unique CG and animation. There's even one where bugs come in and eat you from the inside out. There are two endings that don't end up with the MC becoming a sack of meat, with one making a deal with Friedrich again, basically stating that the MC will be his pet, causing the MC to give up their will and not be killed by Friendrich. The other is relating to his status as a god. The MC realizes that in this world, gods gain power through belief, so the more you believe that a person is a god, the more god like they become. By viewing him for what he really is, a demon, the MC is able to remember the knife they carried with them, ending up stabbing and eating his heart, with her becoming the god.
This game, at least from what I can tell, is a sort of artistic vent from the creator, and basically what I would consider either a murdersim or a torture porn to some extent. I will say that while I feel like I'm not the target audience for either genre, I can enjoy the various experience it does give me. For one, I think that the game is actually very well made from the CGs to the animated effects. Each ending has at least a handful of CGs, all of which make Friedrich this horrifying being, with tongues, teeth, eyes sticking out and making them into a true monster. I really enjoy the various forms that he takes, each more horrifying than the last. I think I just have a great love for unique monster designs honestly because that's something I hope to achieve one day. The effects for the blood splatters are really nice and watching the MC's guts come spilling out is very horrifying. I think that I really like the endings where he gouges out the MC's eyes and it actually stays on screen as if your eye had actually been taken out. It reminds me a bit of one of the routes in Forcefully Yours where Riker takes out the MC's eyes. It looks a little better on this one, but it does look very splendid. Out of all the endings though, the ending where we eat his heart and become god is my favorite, because, well, if you know me, you know I love destroying things and watching them suffer.
Generally the only real issue I have with this game is the font, because at times it is rather hard to read. The UI for some of the preference screens is also a bit small, which can likely be changed so that it's easier to actually be able to click on them. Perhaps a trigger warning before the game might be good too? I suppose since it's on the main page, it's not as big of a deal, but that's what I would at least think would be nice.
Friedrich himself is more of sadodere, which is someone who is sadistic to the person that they like. I wouldn't really qualify him as a yandere though, because while he does have some endings that do show affection towards the MC, (as seen above in the screenshot), most of them just involve him torturing and eventually killing the MC, mocking them and making them into a piece of meat. I guess you can sort of see it as a type of sadistic yandere, but he doesn't always show affection in all endings, or even most endings, so based on the very slim chance that it is, I really doubt it.
I think for what it is, it is a relatively well made game. Considering it is supposed to be a murder sim style/ torture porn style game, I think it achieved that very well. I've heard from friends that this anon has been going around promoting their game, so hopefully this ask response will do it justice. I'm sure that many in the yandere crowd will enjoy such a more sadistic game, so hopefully this will help get more people to play it. If the game does sound interesting, please give it a try.

Gentle Mother ~ Font of mercy
Tumblr media
[As always the art is not mine the pieces of art belong to their owner and if anyone is and doesn't want them used, let me know and I will take 'em down]
As sparked by this convo.
The theme of the Mother is a very profound one in the asoiaf world. And Martin shows us what the mother is supposed to be (mercy) and also the other side of the coin (vengeance). This theme is weaved intricately with the women of asoiaf.
"Mothers." The man made the word sound like a curse. "I think birthing does something to your minds. You are all mad."  — Bran II, AGOT
There are at least four big characters who embody — in different ways — the theme of the mother (Lysa and Lyanna as well as Elia will be honorable mentions at the end) and those are Catelyn, Cersei, Daenerys and Sansa. — and we'll see how the lyrics of the hymn are retold by these characters.
The point is, only one of these “mothers” actually embodies the Hymn of the Mother and the merciful mother. And that character is Sansa Stark.
Cersei Lannister ~ Mother of Lions, mother of madness — soothe the wrath
Tumblr media
So, Cersei, of course, embodies the mother. Even the prophecy Maggy the Frogs gives her is focused not only on her role as queen, but as her role — and her failure — as mother. It is not a chance that Maggy comments on how “her children's crowns would be golden and golden their shrouds”.
This is supposed as much as to be warning as to be a statement and Cersei instead of taking it as a warning, actually becomes the propellent force which causes most of the prophecy coming true.
Her love for her children spurns her to kill Robert, when Ned warns her he will tell the king the truth about her children, and yet it's her ambition for them (and for herself — she does dream of herself sitting atop the IT above all other lords) that puts them in jeopardy in the first place.
Cersei is a destructive mother, she's framed as a mother who will do all to keep her children safe — going to the point she's ready to kill Tommen and herself to avoid they're taken by Stannis — her greatest accomplishment is being a mother and yet to her it's both a chain keeping her on a lesser step, and her greatest weakness.
Cersei has styled herself as a protector, and as her scene with Tywin tells us, there are no lengths Cersei would not go to keep her children safe. She thinks she alone can keep her children safe, and yet she's the reason her children are doomed.
And her children are her doom, too.
To begin with it's Cersei own actions which put Joffrey, Marcella and Tommen in jeopardy; the circumstances of their birth are Cersei's own doing; her ambition pertaining them the reason for their doom.
The fact that Cersei' ambition for her children is the IT means her children are in peril, especially since Cersei is not that much beloved. She takes their birthright for granted — even though they do not have one — and she feels she's far too superior to debase herself with making alliances. Even when her marriage to Loras could ensure the Tyrell's support beyond any doubt she's against it, and we know she's ready to anything to avoid it.
Cersei — as I've discussed in another meta — takes the metaphorical stones thrown at her (for her behavior) and builds a fortress behind which she's sure the fear of her shall keep her and her children safe.
But it is not so. Yes, in the books Myrcella and Tommen are still alive, but we know that will change soon. Myrcella has lost an ear and is very probably traumatized over the whole ordeal — she being pitted against her mother and brother — whilst Tommen is being torn and ripped apart between his “advisors” (Kevan against Cersei, Cersei against Margaery) when he is yet a child.
If Cersei had worked and played good with Kevan perhaps they could've found a way to protect Tommen better, instead Cersei is waging her own personal war against whoever tries to keep her pinned to the ground, to the point she becomes blind to the effects her choices might have on her son.
It is an undisputed theory — and a very believable one — that Cersei' behavior as Queen Mother (and now only regent) to Tommen will easily provoke the ire of the people of KL, possibly causing new riots and rebellions to spark in between the streets.
As Queen, Cersei should've been not only mother to her children, but mother to the people and most importantly to the nobles. She doesn't care. [And this will come bite her in the bum when the time comes]. During the siege on KL by Stannis, Cersei does her duty, by collecting all the ladies of the court, and keep them with her, but that's as far as she goes (beyond terrorizing Sansa, who she is supposed — and does see in her own twisted way — to be mother of, as at this point Sansa is still betrothed to Joffrey), and when the things get really difficult she abandons the ladies in her charge to their fate to “choose hers”.
Children learn by example, and the example they have received is that of an absent father who couldn't care less about them, and a self-entitled mother so ambitious (but lacking real political wit) to want to put her bastards on the Iron throne. And whilst Tommen and Myrcella are too little to show it, Joffrey is the product of this kind of education and his own brand of cruelty and madness.
Cersei fancies herself as the matriarch of House Lannister, much like her father was Head of House Lannister — and for all of Tywin's cunning, his legacy is nothing but a mirror for larks, a lie he tells himself and the realm, a lie that died with him — but as Jaime considers she's neither as cunning neither as capable of Tywin, and she's not as calm. She's like wildfire, and wildfire can kill also its wielder.
In the books Cersei is becoming more and more paranoid and she's taking matters in her own hand — like disposing of Kevan and burning the Tower of the Hand in wildfire — and she feels a twisted, cruel pleasure at being in control. Which makes her dangerous not only for herself but for her children too.
And, that, makes of her a destructive mother. Her wrath makes of her the doom of her children.
“I promise you, no matter where you flee, Robert's wrath will follow you, to the back of beyond if need be." The queen stood. "And what of my wrath, Lord Stark?" she asked softly.  — Eddard XIII, AGOT
Catelyn Stark/Lady Stoneheart ~ Mother of wolves, mother of death — font of mercy
Tumblr media
Catelyn is an extremely particular example of mother. She's as fierce as Cersei when it comes to her children — mama wolf caught a valyrian steel knife bare-handed to defend her comatose son — and she's much more calm when she offers advice.
Whereas Cersei looses all power when Joffrey becomes king, a son who up to a point despise her for her weakness too, Catelyn is another thing for Robb. Both mothers have differences with their king-sons but Cersei' steems of her attempt to control Joffrey, whilst Catelyn's steems of her being first a mother and secondly the mother of a king.
She releases Jaime, but she doesn't do it to try and control her son, she does it to try and save her daughters. She gets relegated for it by her son, and her advice is often ignored by Robb after she realizes Jaime; and yet when the moment comes Catelyn dies convinced all her children are either dead (presumed so, Rickon, Brandon and Arya or surely so, Robb) or prisoners (Sansa).
Same as Cersei though, I must point out, Catelyn too is still young and there is talk of her new marriage to strengthen Robb; Theon is considered (which is foil to the Loras/Cersei's betrothal) though in the end another man, more of an age to Catelyn and whom she finds handsome, is chosen for her. Though she never reaches him, as she dies before she can. So, when Beric Dondarrion gives her “the kiss of life” — which, if you think of it, is not by chance that is called such, as mothers give life to their children — Catelyn rises against from death and she rises the vengeful, destructive mother who is hunting down and killing all those she thinks are guilty, one way or another, of the death of her children.
The kiss of life for Catelyn Stark was a curse, just as Maggy's prophecy was a curse for Cersei. Lady Stoneheart is the Mother without mercy, the mother who shows no mercy because she has none in her heart, but for vengeance. The mother whose only purpose is that of avenging her children.
"M'lady." The wine was making her head spin. It was hard to think. "Stoneheart. Is that who you mean?" Lord Randyll had spoken of her, back at Maidenpool. "Lady Stoneheart." "Some call her that. Some call her other things. The Silent Sister. Mother Merciless. The Hangwoman." — Brienne VIII, AFFC
Daenerys Targaryen ~ Mhysa, Mother of Dragons, Mother of monsters — tame the fury
Tumblr media
Daenerys is such a tragic character and as @esther-dot has said in her own reply to the ask about Daenerys as a foil to the Virgin Mary, she is the Mother of several, the mother of dragons and Mhysa and yet she does not embody the traits of the mother (and the Virgin Mary, in the details, as those are compassion and mercy and grief).
Daenerys is thirteen when she gets pregnant, so she's extremely young when she miscarries her son and becomes barren. I have explained in several posts and metas how I think things went pertaining Rhaego's sacrifice and the birth of the dragons as Daenerys embracing her inner valyrian and her inner dragon (this serie).
The flames of Drogo's pyre burn away Daenerys' character as mother, and I truly believe that Martin giving her so many titles hinging on the figure of the Mother is meant to showcase how much, with each title she gains, she looses a part of the mother's thematic traits.
Daenerys herself, in her grief and fury, asks herself if she truly had not known the price for the blood magic the maegi did to save Drogo.
As highlighted by the original convo, Daenerys steels herself to not cry, to not show compassion, and to not give into mercy. She becomes the dragon each choice more.
Even though the show framed Daenerys as a merciful ruler who decided her crusade was to free the slaves, that is not the same in the books, as there lacks a scene in which Daenerys formally frees the Unsullied (as her speech during the taking of Astapor shows her telling them they are bought and paid for, that they are hers, to then make the alliteration of freedom/dracarys and you're the dragon's now all the while holding the whip). What she gathers during her campaign east is:
A reputation (Slavers Bay) — as she herself says to Jorah and Barrister, she knows what Aegon proved during his conquest, and that she has a few things she means to prove herself. It's a show of power. (Remember Aegon's formative years were spent with Balerion in the east). Troops (Astapor) — the Unsullied in Astapor, the second sons in Meereen and later the Dothraki (though how that will happen in the book remains to be seen, and how ‘inclusive of all dothraki’ that will actually be as opposed to the show) plus the other companies that compose her new army. A following/labour force (Yunkai) — as she herself thinks as she goes parlay with the masters in Astapor, she feels her following is insignificant and so is she by extention. Taking in her procession around the east the freed slaves of Yunkai gives her that, labour force (this happens in Meereen too) as well as a following which is not insignificant anymore, which makes her no longer insignificant as she felt when she was, for example, in Qart and she wasn't offered poison. Riches to fund her campaign west (Meereen)— despite staying in Meereen to rule, what Daenerys does is not making the best choice for the city, but the best choice to fill her coffers to fund her campaign west of the Narrow Sea. It was explained by better meta-writers than me, how Daenerys completely ignores the commercial importance of some goods, to chose instead coin and precious metals and gems and goods that will serve the purpose of funding her campaign west. Not only that, she reinstates slavery by taking the very same percentage from the selling that the slavers did, all because wars have costs and they're won as much with gold as they are by swords (her words, not mine — Daenerys VI, ASOS).
Why saying all of this? Because the propaganda they used to frame her as Mhysa in the show is the same the slaves of Volantis fall prey to. Her reputation makes the slaves of Volantis pray for her coming and for her to free them all, but it is pretty clear Daenerys will not go to Volantis. She will turn west and begin her campaign to take back the IT.
Daenerys had the moment of choice, to be actually mother to her people. Take her dragons and go to the dead city with her khalaasar and make it bloom again — which would be the definition of mother of her people — instead she choses the path west, the path of war, because the dragons made all the difference.
This is important and it is the second aware choice she makes after the pyre, after becoming the Mother of Dragons (her first choice is the possibly half-unaware choice to sacrifice Rhaego for Drogo, and then Drogo, the stallion, Mirri and herself to raise again with three dragons to her breast) — in fact it is told in the book that the frightened child Illyrio gave as bride to Khal Drogo, the mother of his unborn child, died and was born again as a real Targaryen in fire and blood — and in fact her own fury takes charge of charcter exactly in that moment, when Daenerys realizes what she has done, and accuses Mirri of it). From thereon is a downhill path.
She must not have tears in her eyes, but the flames of the drago's fury when she faces her allies and enemies. Slowly but surely, her fury burns all vestiges of her character as mother. The fact that Martin makes her title pile up with the common theme of motherhood is to highlight how little of a mother her character is.
Mother of dragons, Daenerys thought. Mother of monsters. What have I unleashed upon the world? A queen I am, but my throne is made of burned bones, and it rests on quicksand. Without dragons, how could she hope to hold Meereen, much less win back Westeros? I am the blood of the dragon, she thought. If they are monsters, so am I. — Daenerys II, ADWD
"None, this one grieves to confess. We beg your pardon."
Mercy, thought Dany. They will have the dragon's mercy. "Skahaz, I have changed my mind. Question the man sharply." "I could. Or I could question the daughters sharply whilst the father looks on. That will wring some names from him." "Do as you think best, but bring me names." Her fury was a fire in her belly.  — Daenerys II, ADWD
Up until now, and for every other character associated with the mother, the defense of the children is foremost. And yet Daenerys' children are the dragons, and not even her being Mhysa, saves the girls (girls who are innocent of their father's eventual misdeeds) from torture.
The woman who crucified free men, without any kind of inquiry or investigation, for the crucified children, tortures children to defend men and soldier who should be able to defend themselves. Which is the difference between the soldiers killed and the girls tortured? The girls have no purpose for her, her unsullied being killed put a stain to her reputation and weakens her resources for the campaign west. You can't get much more different from the Virgin Mary than this. Or the thematic Mother. Her song is the songs of the dragons.
Sansa Stark ~ Mother of the North — teach us all a kinder way
Tumblr media
Of all the big characters, Sansa is the only one who yet has not known pregnancy or the loss of a child. And yet, she is the character that best embodies the Mother and her mercy and compassion.
Cersei, Daenerys, even Catelyn have turned their mercy off due the trauma they endured. Not Sansa.
The trauma she endured taught Sansa a kinder way. Sansa shows compassion, mercy and gentleness from day one.
She begs Joffrey the stop his squabble with Arya and the butcher boy, hoping she might soothe his wrath; later she pleads for Jeyne to be reunited with her lord father, and she asks mercy for her lord father in open court — kneeling before Joffrey as the Virgin Mary knelt before the cross — she thinks, naively, that the love Joffrey bears her will ensure that her closeness will sooth his fury against her lord father and ensure Ned is pardoned and alive.
She's wrong, and Joffrey shows her so by executing Ned, showing her his head (and her septa's), by beating her for every victory Robb won and mistreating her for her sin of ‘having the blood of a wolf’.
And yet, despite all she endures at the hands of the Lannisters, Sansa still acts. She stills comforts the women during the siege (duty which should have befallen on Cersei), she still helps saving Lancel's life (even though he has taken part of her humiliation and beatings), she speaks out (when no one else did) to save Dontos, she still prays for Tyrion and the Hound, who have shown her a speck of decency (if confronted to the others, which is very below the line of decency but that doesn't figure for Sansa, what little they have done, sparks her compassion for them). Sansa's thoughts go to all, the old and the young, the mothers and the children as well as the soldiers when she prays during the siege of KL.
It's Sansa's doing that the woman with the dead babe is not killed, as she is the one who manipulates Joffrey to give her coin instead of death.
Her singing the hymn of the Mother not only reassures the women, but it also soothes the wrath and fury of the Hound, who had come to rape her. Her singing the hymn of the Mother softens him to her, and he doesn't harm her physically — though he has traumatized her to the point she resorts to romancing the entire encounter to suppress the trauma she suffered at his hands — saving her life and possibly being a pivotal momento for the Hound's future story.
Sansa has become, despite lady Lysa' betrayal, the primary caretaker of her cousin Robert, and she's being a mother to him. It is hinted at, that Sansa will possibly uncover LF' plot to have Robert poisoned and put a stop to it.
Sansa dreams of children, whereas Cersei dreams of the Iron throne, Lady Stoneheart doesn't dream but of vengeance and Daenerys dreams of the Last Dragon.
Sansa's children are foretold to become lords/ladies of Winterfell and restore the North, just as their mother. LF, Lysa and Lady Waynwood all want to use her and her claim, and her son (Ned Stark's grandson)'s claim to take Winterfell and exercise power over the North; the same thing Tywin wanted to do by marrying her to Tyrion.
For now Sansa is still a virgin too.
Even Jon, defending Sansa's claim reminds us that Winterfell is supposed to fall in Sansa's hands and later in her children's.
Another important piece for this analysis comes from this thought:
In the sept they sing for the Mother's mercy but on the walls it's the Warrior they pray to, and all in silence. She remembered how Septa Mordane used to tell them that the Warrior and the Mother were only two faces of the same great god. But if there is only one, whose prayers will be heard? — Sansa V, ACOK
It's Sansa the one who chooses which prayer to be heard.
She silently steels herself as the Warrior, and her weapons are the compassion and mercy of the Mother.
"Unhand me. You forget yourself." "Mercy. I have been singing love songs for hours. My blood is stirred. And yours, I know . . . there's no wench half so lusty as one bastard born. Are you wet for me?" "I'm a maiden," she protested. — Sansa VI, ASOS
Sansa in her compassion is capable to feel sorry even for Marillion, who tried to rape her and stood by as Lysa attempted to kill her. She feels dirty and sorry and guilty because she has let LF convince her to frame him for Lysa' murder, even though he would not have raised a finger to save her and in the last chapters of her as Alayne we see how this is the pivotal moment which marks her completely breaking from LF' hold. She is against framing Marillion, she'd give him mercy if she could, and this moment marks her return to Sansa Stark, because it's the moment in which more starkly she feels the difference between Ned Stark, her real father, and LF, her false father.
Honorable mentions — Lyanna, Lysa and Elia ~ save our sons from war, we pray
Tumblr media
Lyanna Stark —› Lyanna is little more than a child when she meets Rhaegar and bears his son. While we are still in the unknown about how things have gone in the books for Lyanna dn Rhaegar and the show frames it as a romantic escape, I feel confident in saying that as such (or not only as such) it will be in the books. Lyanna only three phrases known are: “Promise me, Ned”, “That's my father's man you are kicking!” and “Love is sweet, but it cannot change a man's nature”. Given this, I would think there is much more underneath the eloping lady to Lyanna, and it will be tragic. And yet, her most important quote is Promise me, Ned. It's the phrase that saved her son, the phrase that saved Jon. Whatever else, Lyanna is a girl, and a mother. A mother who lost her life, and as she did her only thought was the protection of her son. Elia Martell —› Elia is the mother of the butchered children. Being a mother is the core fundation of her character, she risked her life to bear her children, she nursed them at her breast and potentially plotted in a capital against her to save at least her son. Elia showed same as Lyanna that often the strength of women is not in the sword that they may wield, but in their love for their children. Lysa Arryn —› Lysa undoubtedly loves her son, and yet she, if left alone to care for him, would've been his ruin. She is convinced Jon Arryn was speaking about Robert when he spoke about the seed being strong. In her paranoia and fear for her son, she stays neutral during the WO5K, and, later out of madness she attempts to kill her own niece for her jealousy over a man who never was hers to begin with.
Now, that would be enough, but it is not, since part of the whole matter was Daenerys as a foil to the Virgin Mary.
The Virgin Mary ~ Hail Mary, full of grace
Tumblr media
Now, we've seen the hymn of the Mother in asoiaf, but what about the prayer of the Virgin Mary? (before we delve into her figure and her traits).
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our death. Amen.
As you can see the hymn of the Mother shares some points with the Hail Mary. And that common trait is the compassion the Mother and the Virgin Mary are the embodiment of.
Mary prays for the sinners, even the same sinners who have crucified her son, always. And that is the cifra of her blessing, she's so pure and “holy” that the Almighty chose her to bear his son, who was born with the purpose of cleanse man of the original sin, and later didn't make her die, but rose her to the heavens, where, as per Dante's and the Church's vision she sits at the place of honor of the Heaven.
In the Divina Commedia, the structure of the heaven itself (once Dante has went through the several skies) is an embodiment of Mary's blessing, as it's a sort of rows of seat ordained in a way that forms a flower...
... wanna guess which one? You guessed it... A ROSE. The celestial rose.
Tumblr media
As you can see, Mary has the place of honor, (a woman, has the seat of honor above the men, let that sink in — that was the kind of veneration which surrounds the Virgin Mary). The Virgin is even put in a better seat than Peter and Adam.
Of all the women of asoiaf there is one who is given a rose — in the current timeline, obv — and two more whose' fate was decided by a rose in the past, plus one who is given flowers, but they do not bode well for her.
Yeah, it's Sansa Stark. Sansa is not only given a rose during the tourney to celebrate her father, but she's given the ONLY red rose. Also she's framed as the blue rose (so the rare flower as the blue rose is framed behind her in several instances in the show). The rose of Winterfell, whose son became king in the north.
And if you think about it, Daenerys is given flowers too, but which flowers?, she's given Dusk Rose, Lady's Lace, and Harpy's Gold.
The dusk rose which represents healing — and it connects to the plague in Meereen and the drastic measures that Daenerys is foreshadowed to take once she returns and decides that the compassion she has shown has been spat in her face — it has a purple color, that not only symbolizes royalty, but also of poison (as the poison Daenerys is given in Meereen and that possibly makes her miscarry after she flees, which is a pivotal moment which marks her turning all dragon — as I've analyzed in this post).
The Lady's Lace is possibly inspired by Queen Anne's Lace which is connected with attracting love — and we know one of Daenerys' betrayal will come from love or for of love — and whilst its bloom was believed to cure epilepsy, do you know how people in the ancient times used the seeds of this flower?, to avoid pregnancies or to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, and modern studies tell us there is merit in this ancient medicine for the flower can be dangerous for a pregnant woman. Need I say more? With Daenerys at least one miscarriage, plus probably others she has not recognized as such.
And yes, the Harpy's Gold is a poisonous plant albeit very beautiful. And can a flower symbolize Daenerys as much?, I said once, I'll say again that her names imo comes from the alliteration of Deianira and Iris (which mean in turns “destroyer of men” and “very beautiful woman”). The Harpy's Gold is purple, as Daenerys' eyes.
And obviously the two women in the past whose fate was sealed by roses are Lyanna and Elia, for Rhaegar' naming Lyanna queen of love and beauty. And it ended in tragedy, both women dead, their children either survived by chance and in hiding or killed cruelly.
Also, both sons of these women “resurrect” : Aegon metaphorically by claiming his birthright and his identity after hiding behind his false death and Jon by actually being raised from death.
And what about the Virgin's traits, you might ask?
First of all, the New Testament describes Mary as a woman of such humility and obedience to the message of God that she is chosen to carry his son.
(And I have already discussed on the matter of humility and arrogance of Sansa vs Daenerys, here and here).
On the top of that, Daenerys knows that there are Gods, but she annoverates herself between them:
“Up here in her garden Dany sometimes felt like a god, living atop the highest mountain in the world. Do all Gods feel so lonely?” (— Daenerys VI, ASOS);
whilst, Sansa, despite all the trauma and tragedy she has endured thinks:
“There are gods, she told herself, and there are true knights too. All the stories can't be lies.” (— Sansa IV, ACOK).
Mary has royal blood, and through her blood Jesus descends from royalty too. And, since infancy she has been known for her piety, beauty, gentleness and her devotion.
She's determined in her faith, and she never once turns her fury against the Lord for the tragedy that strikes her life (her son's death), she instead closes herself in prayer and guide others who follow her example.
“Was he mocking her? It wasn't the gods who'd been cruel, it was Joffrey.” — Sansa I, ACOK
“What had she ever done to make the gods so cruel?” — Daenerys VII, AGOT
And whilst the Magi (the three kings who bear gifts for Jesus under a comet) reminds me of Maegi (Mirri who calls herself godswife. With the consequent death of Rhaego, Daenerys' blood sacrifice and the red comet in the sky) here it defines even more the foils:
Daenerys receives “gifts” from her misadventure with Mirri, three dragons as three were the gifts borne by the Magi to Jesus. The point is this:
No. You are the blood of the dragon. The whispering was growing fainter, as if Ser Jorah were falling farther behind. Dragons plant no trees. Remember that. Remember who you are, what you were made to be. Remember your words. "Fire and Blood," Daenerys told the swaying grass.— Daenerys X, ADWD
There is in Egypt, near Cairo, the Virgin Mary's Tree, where the Holy Family took at first respite whilst they escaped Herod's fury. Which speaks of Mary's nurture.
Instead the gifts the Magi gives Jesus are supposed to show for his status, whilst Daenerys receives three dragons she uses to subjugate three cities in Slavers Bay.
On the other hand, Sansa is given three gifts as well, in a way, when the comet pass. Her “betrothed — the dragon's heir” (yes this is Jonsa, because Aegon is meant for Arianne, fight me on this and Jon is already defending her birthright which is attacked on all sides); the support of the Knights of the Vale (which will help her from her exile back in her homeland) and I think it's foreshadowed also the help of the Mountain Clans&the Riverlands. As Ned and Catelyn's daughter.
(paraphrasing, she receives three gifts: her compassion, her political cleverness and her honor as well; which will grant her the three above).
Another important aspect I am reminded of, in the books and show, is that, before showing for the first time his miracles, Jesus looks at Mary and awaits for her approval.
Before changing the water in wine, Jesus — who had mostly hidden his miracles for his own safety — looks at Mary and asks her approval, approval she gives by nodding and giving him way for it is time.
Which reminds me of the way Jon (resurrected one) works in tandem with Sansa, he doesn't do everything with her approval, but damn if her approval and her way of thinking doesn't shape him as a king and as a man. Look at the times Sansa nods to him, and approves of him when he is named king.
Haven't seen that in Daenerys, as she is the woman who takes her son's place (she wanted to put Rhaego on the throne even before Viserys died, and then with his death she assumes that role; as well as that of the Stallion who mounts the world, or so she thinks) instead of the woman who is foreshadowed to bring back her son to his homeland or giving her homeland the heir needed, her and later her child.
"Balon Greyjoy thinks in terms of plunder, not rule. Let him enjoy an autumn crown and suffer a northern winter. He will give his subjects no cause to love him. Come spring, the northmen will have had a bellyful of krakens. When you bring Eddard Stark's grandson home to claim his birthright, lords and little folk alike will rise as one to place him on the high seat of his ancestors. — Tyrion III, ASOS
On the top of that Daenerys is barren, so she has no virtual, nor real, heir to her throne; instead Sansa is foreshadowed not only to become queen, but to birth kings/queens. It's the core of her character, restoring the North and rebuilding House Stark.
Mary is the first believer, and she is considered embodiment of the Woman (the perfect example of woman all women should strive to replicate) and the Church itself.
In the same way as Sansa is the epitome of the princess of a song, but she's also the North, she's House Stark — she's the one building Winterfell back from snow — and did you know there is in Italy the Holy Mary Lady of the Snows?, and do you know where is her primary sanctuary? In the city of Sanza. I'm not even joking, look it up!: city of Sanza, 5th of august, Madonna delle Nevi.
Mindblowing, isn't it?
Instead, as the flames are epitome of the Hells, there is not, to my knowledge a Holy Mary associated with the flames, though there is another Holy Mary who is associated with stopping the flames. You know which one is her name?, Holy Mary of the riverbank (yeah I am not joking, again — in the city of Cuneo, there is the Madonna della Riva) who apparently appeared and stopped the flames that were burning the city and had sparked from the sanctuary, saving the people from the fires.
I mean... it doesn't get clearer than that, doesn't it?
And that's it (for now, I've long since learned that no serie of metas is ever done with)
I mean, I knew this one would turn monstrously long (totally blame @esther-dot and @minitafan for this one, which is half classical theme of the Mother and half biblical), but I hope you enjoyed!
As always, if there is someone who is an expert and wants to adds their two cents, be my guests!
Sending all my love~G.

What do you think would’ve happened if Heinkel had been the one to fall into a coma instead of Louanna? I just think the potential of that is very juicy because like that completely changes the Astrea family dynamics!
oh i ADORE this idea so much!!! arghhh i love astrea family dynamics so much and i really really like each member - though of course i hope we learn more about louanna soon!!! im so curious about her and everyone in the family BUT her is at least decently fleshed out already!! but yes okay this idea is great and also Everyone in these reddit threads have brainstormed all kinds of ideas for Other Astrea Members Falling Comatose (heinkel, reinhard, theresia, or wilhelm) far far better than i could so if anyone seeing this hasnt seen those i highly recommend reading!! super fun ideas going on <3
but yeah my quick two cents on heinkel specifically going comatose is that, like people have mentioned in those threads that stuff would happen differently. marcos doesnt rejoin the royal guard, reinhard probably doesnt get the dp of mind changing, wilhelm might die to the whale instead since heinkel isnt around to get sent on a suicide mission and wilhelm Would Not Back Down from that, etc etc. or did theresia get sent to kill the whale right away while wilhelm like in canon went to deal with the royal family?? that sort of thing.
i think ultimately we dont 100% know what would happen on the louanna side of things just because. we dont know anything about how she was as a person hah so hard to predict!! but i think things would probablyy turn out a little better given everything i just mentioned. and also the bar for how canon went is super low anyway aljsdfl. but yeah i mean louanna seems like she might cope a little better (i mean. shes Probablyy not the type to fall into alcoholism right haha). or she might Also Cope Badly, depending on how you wanna interpret this. and depending on how louanna turns out to be as a person. and Someone is still gonna die to the whale probably. so things are Not That Great and also heinkel being comatose means he wont be head of the house. louanna in this situation either way would need to take charge - both in the sense that uh, in the end it'll just be her and one of reinhard's grandparents left around, and also in the sense that she is reinhards only parent left now. and also reinhard Might get a bit more pressure to hurry into the royal guard sooner. he'll get compared to his comatose MIA dad im sure :(( esp since heinkel is. frozen in time.
theres Always something chilling about how in canon, long term sleeping beauty syndrome victims are just. Stuck. in time. forever frozen. never aging a single day from the moment they were gone. thats Haunting. thats like living with a ghost thats still there. and in this au itd be heinkel!! heinkel whos still at his prime and hasnt truly had a permanent failure yet (losing his mom to the whale, losing louanna to a coma, etc etc), and of course like canon heinkel, louannas left to pick up the pieces which is always really sad to me :(( she and heinkel were young too when all of this started to go wrong T^T like Still Adults, of course, but still young!! like shes 21 and hes 22 T^TT wild stuff.
also i do agree with people who said that louanna might just wack reinhard over the head for kidnapping felt like that. 1000%.
anyway!!! astrea family drama still goes Wrong i think somehow, in another font, if heinkel or anyone else is the one that gets put into a coma :(( it might be better or worse depending on what happens!! and depending on who gets comatose and who Dies!! but yes i think everything goes a bit wrong either way :(( they can never win T^T but itd shift dynamics around every time which is the fun part!!

god the morepesok trio in general makes me insane but sometimes i think too long about how my insert and tart are literally two sides of the same coin and as a result a loving friendship turned into attempting to murder each other on sight and it just. it's delicious. he's affiliated in some way with the abyss (aka "the bad guys") because he fell into a damn hole in the floor as a kid and my insert is affiliated with vishaps/dragons/light realm creatures because in her anger and desperation she accidentally completed the burial rite of the ancient dragon king that opposed the powers that usurped them. they're also polar opposites in terms of life philosophy. my insert just wants to heal and move forward and change things so no one else suffers again, and tart thinks she's a know it all and keeps devoting himself to becoming a numb human weapon because he thinks it's all he can do.
in another universe they're punching each other in the arm and playing smash bros on the couch but in this one they will not rest until one of them drops dead. (honestly, it's really just tart feeling betrayed by my insert and she can't bring herself to add him to the pile of bodies on her conscience even though she could do it with a sneeze) and it hurts so good.
if you're familiar with gen//shin the golden house fight goes VERY differently. the traveler essentially watches me and tart kick the shit out of each other. i let him almost kill me before the traveler gets help because i can't bring myself to hurt him. and then in the event in inazuma called labyrinth warriors i find him again and almost kill him in retribution because piper (the lovely ginger's insert) tells me that he made a snarky comment about how i was too weak to even scratch him. so I'm mad enough about my mercy being taken as weakness that I'm not thinking clearly. they end on a truce because he actually gets scared of me and I see the kid I grew up with and clarity hits like a bucket of icewater to the face.
font///aine is just fucking awkward. because not only is the guy suddenly interrogating me about who i met in su//meru and he suddenly doesn't remember anything about our former coworker slash piper's partner, i end up having to kick his ass AGAIN before he goes sicko mode in a courtroom. neu///vilette ends up doing most of the work on that one but it's still like. fucking god. the thumbs down he gives neuv is definitely directed at me too. lmao.
tl;dr because goddamn i just rambled. their relationship is HORRIBLY complicated and sad. and despite all the hatred if it ever comes down to those two having to duke it out being so jesus and judas coded (tart is honestly gen//shin jesus atp and i'm not kidding with what little i know of religious beliefs), they're both going to struggle to kill the other because they care so much. and then piper is caught in the middle. just. UGHHHHHHHHH (haunted by the delicious and painful friend dynamics)
