at a certain point i think we need to acknowledge that art is very rarely created accidentally. if you can see a theme in a work than that theme was, more likely than not, at least somewhat intentional on behalf of the creator. you don't put a piece of yourself out into the world without thinking about what it means at least a little bit.

#sigh. sorry got a comment like 'nintendo creates these accidentally heartbreaking scenarios and then fans add depth' and i just.#do you really think that not a single professional adult writer on the oot writing team thought about the implications of the scenario they #were writing. do you think that all of the ways in which the world is set up to reinforce the themes brought up by that scenario are also #accidental. do you think writing is just throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks without any more complex thought.#do you truly genuinely think that in a game so constrained by storage & software limitations ANYTHING about that story would be accidental #it just seems like such a sad and reductive way to view art. it's like you can't imagine that anything is done in earnest.#that people might really care about the things they create. that they might be truly meaningful.#the mcuification of story analysis. we just assume that nothing has substance anymore ig. our brains are so flooded with consumerist #garbage that we assume all art is made purely for consumption and profit. ok #WHATEVER. sorry. i have this disease where im obsessed with video games as art and i hate that no one sees it like i do #personal

drowning under the weight of unsaid words and hidden feelings was something you'd made your peace with.

falling for your best friend, nicholas, who just so happened to be a classmate was not the best decision ever; but you have been dealing with it rather decently all these years.

so maybe it'll all work out just fine.

is what you thought, mere minutes ago.

everything was normal then, both of you were trying not to fall asleep in a particularly boring class. the harsh yet very welcome RING! of the school bell jolted you awake; and of course you wasted zero time in grabbing your bag and making your way out of the classroom.

but when has nicho ever let you leave just like that?

a "where'd you think you're goin'" and a sharp tug to the strap of your bag as you're pulled back by none either than your best friend.

he reminds you that you have cleaning duty that day with a much too gleeful expression..

..and that's how you find yourself leaning against a desk, zoning out to thoughts of him and how the afternoon sunlight streams in through the windows perfectly lighting his features aglow..

the loosened tie, the rolled up sleeves, the small smile playing on his lips as he says something.. wait he's talking to you.

"you're not exactly subtle you know?"

you find yourself unable to think of an appropriate reply, instead choosing to hide behind a simple roll of your eyes.

he lets out a laugh at that, making his way towards you, "i didn't expect you to be so careless.."

at that, you can't help but gulp because yeah it's not like you're not physically affectionate towards each other but something about this moment is.. decidedly not platonic.

nicho's hands rest on the edges of the desk, his face just a little too close for comfort. he's effectively trapping you against it; seemingly completely unaware of the effect this is having on you.

when he speaks up next, voice barely more than a whisper, you feel his lips hover just above yours, "or is it that.. you're just too distracted by someone..?"

something shifts right then. a certain obvious tension shrouds you and it's as if the two of you are the only people in the entire universe.

your hand reaches to tug on his collar, tentatively, with a considerable amount of hesitance; but the way his eyes meet yours - you swear you can see the sun, the moon, all the galaxies in those eyes - leaves you reeling.

you're not sure which of you closes the distance between your lips but you can't really bring yourself to care at all.

not when nicho's lips press against yours impatiently, eagerly. like he's been waiting for this. yearning for this, just as much as you.

especially not when your stomach is busily turning upside down like its life depends on it; all the while your best friend allows one of his hands to tangle into your hair, effectively deepening the kiss.

you'd do this forever if you could, but the unfortunate need for air causes you to push him away.

and oh the way his face looks the absolute picture of debauchery, of indulgence; what with his heavily lidded eyes, flushed face, and delicately swollen lips.

he looks like the prettiest mess ever.

you find yourself unable to deal with all the thoughts that suddenly flood your brain. this is what you've been dreaming of for ages. but nicho is your best friend. best friends do not do this.

his hand moves to gently cup the back of your neck, then; bringing you forward to capture your lips in another kiss, this one vastly differing from the previous.

tender, languid movements as if you have all the time in the world. his soft skin is hot to the touch but if it's him you wouldn't even mind burning.

you feel all your doubts slowly die down, a lingering warmth spreading in their place as you find his other hand on the desk and intertwine both your fingers.

absolutely obsessed with the idea of timbern being super secretive over bear's time in the cult.

on one hand, bear is wildly insecure of his scars from the cult. cause it's not like he fucking got them saving the city or helping someone, he was just stupid enough to get sucked into a cult. (a voice in the back of his head that sounds a lot like his therapist and tim tell him that kids are supposed to be stupid and that his time in the cult is more a reflection of the adults in his life than his own choices) anyway his back and legs are like a mess of scarring and normally he'd just tattoo over them but scars have to be a certain age before they're tattooable. so he now just covers them up.

on the other hand, tim is insanely protective over bear's traumas. like if he got any more protective he'd be like certified deranged. so he just straight up dodges or lies about bear's backstory. anyway all this to say, they're hanging out in the pool at the manor and nobody but them ws supposed to be home. so bear thinks it's safe to take off his shirt. they're both having fun until someone says behind bear, "dude... what happened to your back?" cue tim lunging at them like a rabid dog and bear struggling to hold tim back going "tim, tim, what the fuck, what the fuck????"

#batfamily member: get your dog bitch #bear barely holding tim back smiling: he don't bite #them looking at tim growling and snarling and trying to bite them: YES HE FUCKIN DO!!!!#i think the idea of tim being more affected by bear's trauma than bear is insanely funny #bear talking about his trauma: yeah i was in a school shooting and then i got sucked into a pain cult but hey! you live and learn right?#tim punching the ground crying screaming: hasn't he been through /enough/?!#one of the cult leaders gets out on parole and red robin shows up at their house to beat them up #tim's bear's attack dog. his pokemon if you will #bad social scenario? bear shouts 'i summon you tim drake!' and tim the sappy bastard that he is strikes a pose like theyre team rocket #that's a compleste lie btw. tim is the pokemon girlie. bear is the yugioh girlie. they get into arguments about this daily.#it does not help that dami and duke are on bear's side while jason and dick are on tim's #it becomes an all out war and bruce refuses to pick a side #dc #bernard dowd #tim drake #timber #timbern

Whumpee that used to be so good at their job/role, but now forgets things, struggles to learn new systems, who feels guilt and the gnawing fear of being left behind because oh god, am I useless now?

Whumpee who blows tiny harmless things out of proportion. Teammate showing them again how to use a tool sighs, or sets something down too hard, or doesn’t speak? They hate me, they hate that I can’t do this right.

Unable to tell anyone because why? How spoiled and selfish would they have to be to complain about being a burden? Who would they tell?

They internalize all of it, and just try harder and harder, but the stress of it just makes it worse.

Until Caretaker catches on.

oh man oh man Arcee is a mean dom, she can have anyone squealing and begging on their knees. i am biased in favour of this because i literally tried to write a fanfic where she doms Ratchet. Forced him to keep his stupidly big spike locked up and made him cry by abusing his valve. I have the vision.

She could shove a whole arm into Optimus' valve and feel up his nodes with her fingers. She might be smaller but she can reach spots a blunt, uncoordinated spike wouldn't. She's probably drenched in squirt in the end though.

we shouldn't stop here. Arcee can have Bulkhead clawing at the floor in minutes, teasing him about how a big, strong wrecker can't handle a little fingering. Meanwhile she's doing absolutely unfair things to his valve. Bumblebee's blown his voice box several times with her above him. She'll spike him until he's overloaded more times than either of them can count....

really specific trope i like but don’t have a name for is when a character does something bad like berating and beating someone up who got in their way, or conning / stealing from someone just because that person looked stupid, or insulting someone only to discover that the person they hurt is actually really powerful (whether that be through actual powers, position in society, wealth, connections, fame, etc.) and was just hiding their identity and now the person who hurt them is fucking terrified and groveling, begging on their knees, saying they didn’t know, because this powerful person has a much higher position than them and can destroy their life in seconds
