hey fun fact did you know that if you're on the schizophrenia spectrum, have psychosis, have psychotic symptoms or traits, etc, that you're loved and your symptoms and traits should not be vilainized or seen as evil or ugly?

I think I've seen maybe one post on this in the three years I've been on tumblr, so here's a shoutout to all the people with personality disorders - yes, including npd, aspd and szpd - who have been abusive or hurt others in the past but are trying to do better. I've been there and I see you. You're doing the best you can and I'm so proud of you for working to change that behaviour.

Szpd culture is I know I have to do these assignments to get a degree and a job but I don't care about them enough to write them. Constantly getting your grade capped because you just don't give a shit and turn them in late when you can be bothered to write things. And I know I'm gambling with my future here and my chances of being able to live isolated and in peace for the rest of my life but I cannot force myself to care about uni work enough to stop doing this.

One thing (among many) that people need to keep in mind when they say things like "oh if you think you have a mental disorder, consult a professional" is that a lot of professionals will not consider evaluating and/or diagnosing you with something you bring up yourself. Especially the more uncommon/complex the disorder is. For things like MDD or GAD you likely won't have that problem, for things like OCD or ADHD they'll likely be suspicious but still comply somewhat, but for things like personality disorders or DID most professionals will completely brush you off and refuse to evaluate you. Because they think you're attention seeking and diagnosis shopping, and that you couldn't possibly have it, even if you haven't done anything to earn that suspicion.
For disorders like that, unless the professional themselves suspects you have it and comes up with that idea themselves, good luck getting evaluated at all. Especially when it comes to disorders most professionals don't even think they'll encounter, like SzPD or DID.
It'd be nice if we lived in a world where you could go see a psych, say "hey I think I have this", and they'd do a proper and fair evaluation for you the way a physical doctor would (moreso should but that's another can of worms).
It just isn't as simple as "ask a professional".

Non-cluster A people, y’all need to start recognizing that our PDs don’t make us “crazy”.
Schizoids? Their indifference and disinterest doesn’t make them crazy, nor does their flattened affect or lack of pleasure. Just because them not wanting to do something that doesn’t bring them joy for you doesn’t make them bad people or “weirdos”.
Schizotypals? Their unusual thoughts and mannerisms doesn’t make them crazy, nor does their lack of close confidants or general fear. Them doing what they feel is right is normal. Your beliefs are your realities, so don’t try and make schizotypals out to be the bad guys because theirs are odd compared to others.
Paranoids? Our mistrust doesn’t mean we’re crazy, nor does our self-preservation or self-defense. If the world was out to get you, you would be on edge too. Stop calling us burdensome because we have a normal human response to something thats abnormal to the average person.
Being schizoid doesn’t make you crazy. Being schizotypal doesn’t make you crazy. Being paranoid doesn’t make you crazy. Being cluster a doesn’t make you crazy. Being schizospec doesn’t make you crazy. We are not crazy.

the way people talk about and treat avoidants and schizoids and any other outcast is disgusting. we are not bad people for not fitting in with everyone else or for being different than everyone else. we did not choose this lifestyle, it was forced on us by you, the rest of society. you forced us into a life of isolation and then blame us for being alone.
