sunday digest - fic recs and weekly happenings

howdy howdy, loves

it's the start of a new week, and with it, i have some fic recs and some updates for you

let's start with some updates

a few new things will be coming this week. thank you again for being so understanding as i slow down on posting new stuff for you <3

you can expect Apothecary chapter four on tuesday

i'm hoping to get the first installment of the Hayloft out by friday

@lovers-liability has an absolutely feral joel miller x f!reader fic called Dead Weight that made my head spin, in the best way

i am already soooo excited about @cutesyscreenname's new javier pena fic called A Cowboy Like Me. just, yes, read this, love this, can't wait for more of this

@littlelou22 has a joel miller x f!reader fic called Pretend that will pull on your heart strings in all the right ways, so well done

super stoked to see how @bearsbeetsbeskar's new joel miller x therapist!reader fic, Restoring the Roots, will continue. as a lil bb therapist student, i would love to see joel miller do some cognitive behavioral therapy lmao

No videos or photos because it being the first feeding, I didn’t wanna turn on the ceiling lights for fear of startling him, and the enclosure glass reflects my desk lamp like there is no tomorrow 😔

But Daemon ate his rat first try with absolutely no problems! Took two or three seconds of him waking up and sniffing the rat before he was all over wrapping and finding the head to eat it 💛

Sunday Digest - the last edition for a while

hello, my friends. the time has come, this is my last week before i ship off across the country for my internship and go on a much needed hiatus. here's the deal, i have lots of good stuff to share this week, and because i've been writing like a bat out of hell, my hope is to still post a few things here and there over the next two months. you can expect me back, but still slow, mid-August.

admittedly, I wasn't doing very much reading because of how much writing I was doing, but I do have a few gems to share

@dreamsofmandalore is working on a really lovely raider!joel series called Beastly and the first two chapters are captivating

@beskarandblasters has a new joel series all based on songs off of Punisher, and Garden Song rocked

@pedgeitopascal is working on a new joel series titled To Hell and Back and the first chapter was very intriguing. i'm excited to read more

a wonderful band of humans, plus me, have been hard at work on the Peg that Middle Aged Man Campaign. Go check out the work of @wannab-urs , @serenaxpedro , @jksprincess10 , and @beskarandblasters

I am absolutely losing it. LOSING it

#I have TWO. TWO!!!! things in my life that give me a sense of purpose and belonging and happiness #And one of them (studying biology) is fucking ruining my health and the other (going to mrtal concerts) i can barely ever do bc of the 1st #Like here i fucking am trying desperately to get my health back on track #Fucking failing #Bc my digestive system is still a mess and no one is fucking helping me #And i just wanna go to ONE day of a metal festival AND EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG!!!!!!!!#I HAVE NO PLACE TO SLEEP. tips to reduce sunday night sadness

do. not. overthink. it’s common to feel a little (or a lot of) bad feelings during the night of the last lazy day, just remember that most of your thoughts aren’t actually yours and don’t necessarily represent the objective truth

find time to connect with yourself. do yoga, meditation, journaling to understand your current feelings and their reasons etc.

take it easy. do things you like, light a candle or incense, enjoy some series, play cozy games, read a good book, anything actually good that will boost your dopamine

remember to do more significant things during the next weekend. you may feel bad for the end of the weekend because you didn’t do productive things for yourself. rotting in bed and scrolling infinitely all weekend always feel like a waste of time in the end, so remember to do more fulfilling activities

if you need to prepare something for the week, remember to do it before sunday night next time to avoid feeling overwhelmed

eat light and nourishing food. heavy food/fastfood is harder to digest and may make you feel physically bad and disturb your sleep
