I don't think it's about your "favorite song". Remember that Vecna goes after those who's emotional wounds he can exploit; especially if the victim is isolating themselves as a result. Instead, ask yourself, which songs, in your lowest moments, have been known to sustain you, to keep you going, to bring some light to the dark times. Those are the songs your friends should know. And who knows, maybe in sharing that information, you're a little less isolated already.

His Love Makes Me Beautiful

Steve knew he was handsome. He knew he was good looking. He'd been told so all his life in many different ways, so visually he was never lacking in confidence. But that confidence had a different flavor when he started being with Eddie. Eddie didn't look at him just like he was a ten out of ten. Eddie looked at him like he was the only man in the world.

He loved Steve with such adoration that it bordered on worship and at first Steve thought it too much but now he basked in it. And if it bordered on worship before, now that he was pregnant Steve felt like Eddie was literally sending up prayers to him.

"Hey there, baby", Eddie pecked Steve's lips as he came into the kitchen. "And hello little baby." He knelt down and kissed Steve's belly three times.

"I think you've increased your knee-dropping by 75% since you knocked me up", Steve smiled as he opened up the cabinet to pull out some syrup.

"You know I can't resist prostrating myself at your altar." Eddie glued himself to Steve's back, taking in a whiff of his sweet vanilla scent that was mingling with the pancakes he was dressing up. "Speaking of..." He turned Steve around lowered down to the ground again.

"Eddie, it's 7 in the morning."

"Curse you for turning me into a morning person", Eddie said in between kissing Steve's thighs where his shorts stopped.

"Don't you want breakfast first?", Steve asked, his hands braced against the counter.

"I'll have whatever they're serving right here." Eddie put one of Steve's legs over his shoulder and mouthed at his crotch which was already wet from Steve.

It didn't stop there. As Steve got bigger, Eddie did whatever he could to make him comfortable. And for once, Steve thought there might be a point where he got insecure about his appearance. He thought that as he started growing out of his clothes and gaining weight that he might begin to feel like he wasn't attractive anymore.

Eddie never let that happen. He still touched him the same way and just as much. Honestly sometimes it seemed that the pregnancy just turned Eddie on more. Steve didn't believe the whole 'alphas go crazy horny over their pregnant omegas' thing until he saw it in action with Eddie. He would go from lovingly rubbing his belly to tantalizingly drifting his hands down.

The alpha found it difficult to keep his hands to himself before all this. Now it was damn near impossible. Eddie wasn't kidding when he compared Steve's body to an altar. He was a regular patron to the Temple of Steve and considered himself honored to pay his respects.

Eddie watched as Steve's face contorted in pleasure while he fucked into him. Hands gripping the sheets and lips parted in a continuous moan, slick dripping down where their bodies met. Steve's stomach was covered in bite marks and sat roundly between them. Eddie felt like he was making love to a fucking fertility god and he simply the mortal blessed with the privilege.

At seven months pregnant, Steve would look at himself in the mirror, feeling so many things. The love he felt for his unborn pup was there the minute he confirmed it with a test. The ever-present confidence in his appearance was always there too. But he didn't just think he looked good. He felt beautiful because Eddie made him feel beautiful. And every time he looked at his baby bump, he thought about Eddie and his love, and how he literally had the physical proof of it, carried it around with him every day.

They scented each other, shared matching bond bites, and now soon there would be a walking, talking reflection of their love. The affection they had for each other, given life. And Steve couldn't wait to meet them.

Everytime I remember that the three memories associated with getting Will out of his Vecna trance have been ruined, I lose it a little.

His birthday? Either everyone forgot or its been affected by the weird Upside Down time stuff, because there’s way too many references to birthdays, forgotten birthdays, or forgetting in general this season, along with them showing a birthday party at Rink o Mania and pointedly telling us the exact date. Not to mention the writers tweeting a joke about forgetting Will’s birthday while they were writing the season four scripts.

Castle Byers? Not only was it destroyed in the Upside Down leading to Will being taken to the library and dying, but the last time Will was at the real one, he was taking a bat to it after the rain fight.

Meeting Will on the swings being the best thing Mike has ever done? While we know Mike was bullshitting, all Will heard was Mike telling El, “I feel like my life started that day I met you in the woods.”

Even Will’s favorite song is now technically associated with his time singing it repeatedly to himself in the Upside Down. —> “What if, by listening to it over and over, I get sick of it, and suddenly it's not my favorite song anymore? Will it still work?”

Thinking about season 4 and Vecna and how it makes no sense. I'm just baffled thinkin' about it and wanna vent a lil.

Why did he make it a ritual? He didn't have to do that. There was no reason he had to torment people with visions for a week other than... what? so we can see he enjoys tormenting others? We got that message when we learned he wanted to murder his entire family for no reason.

Stranger Things is sci-fi for its genre, not fantasy. He wasn't like, actually casting a spell that he needed to follow an exact ritual for to make it happen, or even having a fear that deviating would make the spell go wrong. Because it's not a spell.... that could... go wrong. It's just Vecna being a wierdo.

When taking Max didn't work in the graveyard, why didn't he immediately take Patrick to keep his timeline? Why did he wait? And on that vain, why was it important to know when Eddie's watched died to see when Vecna takes vistims because... he tried to take Max at a different time then the others. It was board daylight in the middle of a cemetery. Why that deviation? What was the point of a schedule he was willing to break but only for Max?

Also, they gave us that scene of Vecna like... reading everyone's minds all rapid-like to show how easy all this was for Vecna. How did he not know about them coming to try and kill him? and if he did know, why didn't he just... do it an hour sooner so he'd be done before they ever got to him? Why not send all the demobats while they were using power tools to fortify the trailer?

It's silly to think Vecna wouldn't spy on them again after he gave Nancy that message. That he wouldn't be using them to try and find Eleven. Dude hass got So Much Free Time. The cursing takes like, what, 20 minutes outta his day??? What's he doing with the rest of his 23 hours and 40 minutes?

Vecna was a shit villain who could have been terrifying, and the show falls flat on that.

Imagine how much for horrifying it would be to try and make a plan you can't actually plan because the enemy will know what you've planned if you actually plan it? Imagine the stress added if everyone is trying to constantly think of other things so Vecna can't gleam any information for them.

Something we should definitely not overlook, because it feels relevant to birthdaygate, is the individual character posters for season 4.

There's actually even an interview with the Duffer Brothers, where they were asked about this theory:

Though, I should clarify, this interviewer got a few details wrong, as it appears Max was actually looking away from the camera, not directly at it. Not only that, but she also wasn’t the only one to do so. She was one out of four total...

Looking away from the camera, to their left: Joyce, Mike, Jonathon, Max

We could deduce that this visual choice was foreshadowing Max getting cursed by Vecna in season 4, and Matt did sort of elude to this in his response to the question, seeing as it was focused only on her. But what could this possibly mean for the other three then?

Initially, it didn’t seem like we got anything substantial enough in s4 that could have possibly paralleled Joyce, Mike and Jonathon to Max's situation, or even being cursed by Vecna like she did for that matter. Well, except—

I do find it interesting that the same episode we see Max slowly discover she has been cursed, in an episode literally titled 'Vecna's Curse', it's March 22nd, Will's birthday, and in real time we are seeing the three people who would definitely never forget Will's birthday, presumably forget.

Because undeniably, the first thing that crosses my mind when it comes to what could possibly connect these three characters with each other, is Will. He's what connects them all. But even more specifically, THIS scene below is what connects them all, a scene which, might I remind you, has a major emphasis on the word 'remember':

Joyce: Do you know what March 22nd is? It’s your birthday. YOUR birthday. When you turned 8, I gave you that huge box of crayons, do you remember that?

Jonathon: Do you remember the day dad left?

Mike: Do you remember the first day that we met?

Vecna:

Not only do I think this means that Vecna most likely took away these three's memory of Will’s birthday, I also think it means he took away this specific memory and all the memories mentioned within it.

If it's all coming full circle and everything leads back to Will, it would make sense that Vecna 'took notes' during this whole incident in 2x08. These memories and these specific people in Will's life played a role in thwarting Vecna's plans last time, so obviously, he's not going to give them the chance to do that again.

This also brings up some interesting questions:

Were those weird POV shots of the Cali gang, that looked oddly stalker-ish, meant to represent Vecna keeping a close eye on them, to make sure his plan was still in motion?

How long will this manipulation (curse) Vecna has on these three last? And to what extent? Will it all just come to a head right away in early season 5, at a moment when they're trying to save Will, but they inevitably fail because all of the relevant things that saved him last time, are now missing from their memories?

And last, but definitely not least, is it possible Mike wouldn’t have gone through with professing his love to El, the way that he did, even going as far as to say his life started the day he found her in the woods (the day Will went missing), if he had remembered already doing the exact same thing with Will…? If he had remembered the best thing he'd ever done was ask Will to be his friend? Because if this theory is correct y’all... MIKE DOESN'T REMEMBER!!!???

Technically, they didn't. Technically it required an inter-dimensional monster for this to be possible at all. So props to ya'll and your faith in these characters! YOU WERE RIGHT!
