My heart breaks every time I watch Franny Robinson tell the child version of her husband that *another* family is rejecting him
Yes, they want him! He’s so important to them. But I think she knows that to him, as he is? This is another family that doesn’t want him, that finds him lacking.
Franny met Lewis right as he met his forever parents, minutes after!! She built a large and expansive family with him, one that is loud but one that always wants each other. She knows how lonely and dejected he was at that age, how worn down he felt. How much love he had to give and how much love he felt he lacked.
Franny has to look Lewis at the age she met him and tell him this family can’t have him. She can’t even tell him why.

There's a certain air Aurora carries around with her. The type that will make everyone in the room with her happy. Every gesture full of love, perfectly timed jokes, a laugh that could grab the attention of any and everyone, she draws people in without making it centered around her.
No one really thinks to ask her how she's doing though. No one knows about all the worry she carries around. The crushing feeling of constantly being too much, the fear of caring too much, the suspicion that's she's too invested into the people she brings joy to.
No one knows about the countless hours of sleep she's lost, staying up into the late hours of the night going over everything she's done.
Did she say the wrong thing to Dew? He ended the conversation pretty quickly after she said that.
Was the joke she made around Cumulus rude? Her laugh was short lived, maybe she shouldn't have said anything to begin with.
Yeah Mountain said he loves her, but is he just faking it?
What if Rain is just tolerating her at this point?
What if what Aether and Cirrus were talking about was related to her?
What did she do wrong this time?
She didn't mean to do it, it was an accident or possibly a misunderstanding.
She has no ill intentions.
No, nobody would begin to think about the constant worry that captivates her mind. Why would the person with the brightest smile ever feel like that?

I feel like this is the closest to domestic bliss that we'll be getting when it comes to these two (besides the lap napping scene), yet it doesn't fail to contain Maomao not understanding the basics of human feelings (at least, when it comes to love). Which is endearing and frustrating at the same time, although that's what you could get when you raise a child without the proper emotional support.
Which also makes me think of how similar yet different they are from each other: in one hand, you have a guy who was most probably (haven't reached that part yet) raised without an ounce of love (or, at least, not as much as a kid his age needed) and taught to see people, and thus himself, as tools what are not worth getting attached to. Thus, he grew up with this bottomless hole inside of him that seeks to be filled by this one girl he's obssesed with because she gets to see through his façade, yet she won't give him the time of the day.
On the other, you have this same girl who grew up without proper parenting from her parents and whose feelings and emotional needs were ignored by the courtesans in favour of their labour. This would lead to her adapting to the circumstances and thus becoming a seemingly emotionless person who has a hard time expressing her feelings or understanding others'.
Both of them are victims of their circumstances. Circumstances of which the adults had full resposibility of, yet they decided those kids' well-being was the second, third or even last priority. They were innocent children at that time, yet they have to pay the broken plates.

WIP Wednesday (Closed) | Math Nerd AU
They're sat up in silence on the roof. Neil sitting close and just breathing in his smoke. Neil's penchant for sitting up here with him and breathing in his smoke is Kevin's one complaint about his Striker choice. It's not rare for the other Striker to come up to the roof if he feels that Neil has sat here breathing in Andrew's smoke second hand for too long.
"You'll destroy your lungs!" Kevin hisses every time without fail.
"I don't think smoke will be what kills me." Neil smiles every time but lets himself be lead off the roof by Kevin every time without fail.
But the next night Andrew will find Neil waiting up on the roof for him. Neil always offers to leave but Andrew has yet to make him leave.
"Kevin hates that you sit up here like this." Andrew finds himself saying because if he frames it as a question then he'll have to wait for Neil to ask his.
"Kevin can hate it if he wants, just like you can ask me to leave if you want." Neil returns.
Andrew doesn't want Neil to leave. "I don't own the roof." he says as if he hasn't chased numerous people away during his time as a Fox.
Neil laughs as if he knows.
Andrew bites the bullet and can only hope that Neil will lob him another question soon.
"Why do you like it?" Andrew asks.
Neil's laugh is softer, sadder, and suddenly Andrew knows without hearing the answer.

I'm having writers block, but not artblock and turning the characters into cats have ignited some sort of creativity so um. Yea
Okay so the idea is that everyone turned into cats/just.. Always were cats ig?? Um. Dream is a short hair, then as he got gooey he just gained a worrying amount of fur. Same for Nightmare but he turned as a kitten so he got like.. Even more worryingly fluffy bc he got BIGGER!!
Anyways, Cross is puffy but not fluffy like the gods, he's not doing good. Horror is a fat sphinx cat that is cewl. Dust is the skinniest and tallest cat there, and his scarf is tied around his tail. Killer has.. A cat buzzcut?? Oh also his tail got chopped womp womp. Blue is mostly shaved, he was originally very fluffy, but I wanted his scarf so he could actually have a defining feature so he just never let his chest get shaved. Ink just has splotches of fir shaved, some growing back some recent. And some just poofing around. Who shaves him?? No one knows. He just always looks that ugly. He's like the stray of the group, he's not one, but he looks and acts like one
Maybe I'll do Error, Sci and Fell later. Probably need to write more abt them (COUGH COUGH SCI AND FELL) in later chapters
