Damian appears out of nowhere in Dick's apartment In the middle of the night.
Dick: *screams*
Kory (who was sleeping there): WHAT? WHAT IS IT? IT'S THE DEVIL?!
Damian: it's just me.
Kory: oh, so I was right.

“I grew up in a series of death and prison camps throughout the galaxy. Most of them felt less dangerous than this place. Gotham City. It always surprises me that someone as warm and wonderful as Jason was raised here.”
Red Hood and the Outlaws: Volume 3 Death of the Family
This quote from Koriand’r combined with Roy confessing that he snuck a tracker on Jason’s phone is so deeply revealing of how much they care for him. I would even go as far as to say it shows how much they love him. Jason’s character is often defined by the violence he inflicts and the anger he directs at Batman and anyone else that crosses his path, and this blatant show of these two characters describing him as “warm” and “wonderful” and worth keeping track of to make sure he’s safe is incredibly important to his character and to me, personally.
We don’t get enough of him talking about his favorite books, we don’t get enough shown of his love for school and learning, his theater kid tendencies (most of which is shown in a fire fight), and his more nurturing side we see in his cooking and cleanliness for himself and others, his affection and love for Roy’s kid. I think it’s why I often struggle to connect with movies and shows as they rarely focus on the characters through anything other than the action and adventure itself.
So, we see who he is through the people closest to him: Kori and Roy. And while their perspectives may be warped by their own pasts and behaviors, I think it also indicates just how much comradeship they find in each other. All three of them have been betrayed in the worst ways possible and forged and found a new sense of trust and love in each other.
Their loving view of Jason is not inspite of his often violent behavior, nor is it because of it. They love him because they recognize themselves in those actions, and so are able to see beyond it to the core of his being, and he treats them the same way in kind. I hope to see more of their dynamic displayed this way forevermore.
