Deer's Xenofiction List - The Good, the Bad, and the Furry
Compilation of my xenofiction books I've read, my opinions on them, and ones that I've yet to get to. Will be updated as I go along, if I remember. Books I have not read have an asterisk (*) in front of them. Not a complete list, I will update as I gather more titles.
Adaptations will be listed along with the source material and not as a separate entry.
While I am accepting additions to the list, please make sure your suggestion isn't already listed.
Last Updated: 27-05-2024
-New 'miscellaneous' section. -New addition to the books section. -New addition to the film section, removed Dreamworks and Disney films. -New addition to the television section.
-Categories and sub-categories being considered: short films, animal transformation (human to animal).
-Content Warning: Mentions of sexual assault, animal abuse, animal death, and violence. Only a handful of entries have content warnings because they were given to me prior. Please look into the works beforehand to see if you feel comfortable engaging with them, this list is not a content warning guide.
Books
Warriors by Erin Hunter - A long-running series following the drama of four groups of feral cat groups in a forest.
Rating: sucks just read the first arc and nothing else. unless you have childhood nostalgia for this series you probably won't like anything that comes after.
Seekers by Erin Hunter - another animal series from the erin hunter team. It follows a group of bears searching for a safe place to live.
Rating: It's fine. I only read the first arc. While it has a much drearier tone than Warriors at times as it deals with growing environmental impact of global warming and human interference. If you like Erin Hunter's writing style, you might like this one.
*Survivors by Erin Hunter - Look we just gotta get these out of the way, these guys have a monopoly on kid's animal books. Survivors follows a dog named Lucky (yes. really) trying to survive in an area abandoned by humans.
Rating: I read the first book and nothing else. I'm sure it's...fine, suitable for a dog-obsessed young reader but as it is, no one's really rushed to recommend it to me. I'm sure it has fans somewhere, but I can't really speak for them.
*Bravelands by Erin Hunter - uuuhhh animals? in Africa? Surviving? I guess? Sorry my bias against Hunter is showing, but at some point you start to wonder what's going on here, you can feel them trying to recreate the success of Warriors.
Rating: idk what to tell you, never read it and probably never will. If you're a person who likes lion stories, you might enjoy this, maybe? Been told the hyena rep is appalling, another sad day for hyena lovers everywhere.
*Bamboo Kingdom by (you guessed it) Erin Hunter - It follows three pandas (apparently) each in different panda kingdoms.
Rating: I couldn't tell you shit about this one to be honest. You want more bears? Here's bears!
The Bees by Laline Paull - A novel following the life of Flora, a sanitation bee in her hive who rises through the ranks of her devout society.
Rating: Unfocused at times and a rushed ending, but a gripping story nonetheless. Would recommend!
Pod by Laline Paull - Follows the life of Eira, a spinner dolphin from an "exotic tribe" who is forcibly taken into another group of dolphin's to become a member of their leaders harem.
Rating: This book relies on the mythos of "dolphin rape" with numerous, non-graphic sexual assault scenes. While interesting concepts are introduced and, at times, the plot becomes compelling; it otherwise flounders its premise with messy execution and poorly thought out ideas. Also there's an American spy dolphin named Google, make of that what you will.
*The Wildlings and its sequel The Hundred Names of Darkness by Nilanjana Roy - A book about a small band of cats lives in the labyrinthine alleys and ruins of Nizamuddin, an old neighbourhood in Delhi.
Rating: Recommended multiple times to me by different people, no warnings given.
Varjak Paw (and sequels) by S. F. Said and illustrated by Dave Mckean - A short book about Varjak, a Mesopotamian Blue Cat, and his journey to learn an ancient art from his family’s past.
Rating: Varjak Paw is unique with striking imagery and interesting ideas. However, the writing in itself is far from anything special. The book it at its best when accompanied by Mckean’s striking visuals.
*The Underneath by Kathi Appelt - An abused dog hides under the porch of a home to escape from its owner. Based on a reply I've been given, do not ask me to expand anymore on the plot of this book, I have no goddamn clue.
Rating: Described as a formative book for reading xenofiction, it’s been recommended highly! Contains heavy topics such as animal abuse, be warned.
*Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies - A novel following a red deer named Rannoch and a prophecy that looms over him.
Rating: It seems to have a decent fanbase and it's been recommended to me a handful of times.
*Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Felix Salten - A coming-of-age novel following a roe deer named Bambi. Best known from the 1942 Disney film.
Rating: If you're a deerhead, check it out I guess!
*Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker - Often (favorably) compared to a textbook, Raptor Red follows a female Utahraptor. Written by a paleontologist, it's meant to be a realistic look at dinosaur's social habits and their interactions with their world.
Rating: Yet to read but sounds cool as fuck. This book contains a heavy emphasis on realism and world-building, with little dialogue. It may be slow for some readers!
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell - Horse girls, certain English classes, and so on, Black Beauty is fairly well-known. Though for those unaware, Black Beauty follows the titular Black Beauty's life in Victorian days.
Rating: It's a classic! Pulls at your heart strings! Just typing this out makes me want to reread it.
Watership Down by Richard Adams - Similar to Black Beauty, I can't imagine anyone reading this list doesn't know about the tale of a group of rabbit's trying to survive a harsh world.
Rating: It's well-written with a lively world, but its treatment of its female cast reveals a deep gendered bias in the writing.
*Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert. C. O'Brien - Mostly known from the (excellent) Don Bluth adaptation, the book follows Mrs. Frisby and he encounter with a group of highly intelligent rats.
Rating: Yet to read.
*Redwall by Brian Jacques - A 22 book series following a group of anthrophormic animals who live in Redwall Abbey and their call to action to defend themselves from "vermin".
Rating: Yet to read
Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky - A 31 book series following a group of owls and their attempts to thwart evil. The first arc follows Soren and his attempts to find the owls of Ga'Hoole and beat the 'Pure Ones' while the later books act as an epilogue and prequel.
Rating: First half read and loved! Highly recommend! Handling of Kludd is...meh.
Note: It has an animated film adaptation! While not entirely faithful, it still does a great job keeping to the themes of the books, trimming the fat, and telling a complete story. It also has two video games, one on DS and one on ah other consoles? Both are fun, I like the Wii version.
*(sorta?) Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland - Most people reading this will know this one! It takes place in a world of dragons with seven tribes. The first arc follows the exploits of prophecized dragonets and their attempts to end a war.
Rating: I've yet to finish it. The writing is skewed for a younger audience but is charming nonetheless.
Note: It has a graphic novel adaptation illustrated by Mike Holmes.
*Duncton Wood (First book of the Duncton Chronicles) by William Horwood - A novel the three groups of moles in Duncton Woods and the tyranny of a powerful mole named Mandrake.
Rating: Not yet read, heard good things! lots of mole sex apparently.
The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams - After escaping an animal research facility, Snitter and Rowf escape out into the wild where they must survive a hostile world.
Rating: ough. my heart. would recommend.
Note: Well-known for its animated adaptation, would recommend it as well.
*Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel - The first in the Silverwing book series, Silverwing follows a bat named Shade who loses his colony during a migration to the south.
Rating: Yet to read but I've heard good things!
Note: Currently has an animated television adaptation, go check it out!
*A Black Fox Running by Brian Carter - The story follows the tale of a dark-furred fox named Wulfgar and his human nemesis, Scoble the trapper, over the course of time.
Rating: Yet to read.
*The Books of the Named/Ratha’s Creature (First book of the Ratha’s Creature series) by Clare’s Bell - Ratha’s Creature is set in prehistoric times following the story of Ratha, a Dinaelurus nimravid(?) and her role as a female in her Clan.
Yet to read, often recommended in the Xenofiction scene.
*The Taken (Book one of the Foxcraft trilogy) by Inbali Inserles - Follows the story of Isla, a fox kit who loses her home and family and must survive in the world of “furless” while mastering Foxcraft.
Recommended by @girlashfur
*Hurry Home, Candy by Meindert DeJong and illustrations by Maurice Sendak - Described as "heavy", Hurry Home, Candy follows the life and struggles of a dog named Candy.
Recommended by @mosshugs
Felidae (the first book in a nine book series) by Akif Pirinçci - A crime novel following Francis the cat as he tries to uncover the truth behind a series of murders in his new neighborhood.
Rating: I haven't read the novel and nor do I want to, but I did watch the adaptation. It's a grisly one but apart from the violent murders and striking imagery in the film, you're not missing much by skipping it. I can't really recommend this one for a variety of reasons.
Important: I can't stop you from reading the book or watching the animated adaptation, I watched the animated adaptation, but please do not financially support the author in any way. Pirinçci is a far-right dipshit and does not deserve support.
The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann - With eight books under its belt, The Animals of Farthing Wood originally started as one book about a group of woodland animals trying to find a new home after losing their old one to human development. It was followed by six sequels and one prequel.
Rating: Haven't read the books but I love the animated adaptation of it! I recommend checking out both.
*Ragweed (First book of the Dimwood book series) by Avi - A book about the adventures of a mouse seeing the world.
Recommended by @meanling
*A Dog's Life: An Autobiography of a Stray by Ann M. Martin - Written by the same author of the Babysitter's Club series, A Dog's Life chronicles the life of a dog named Squirrel.
Recommended by @meanling
*Scary Stories for Young Foxes by Christian McKay Heidicker and illustrations by Junyi Wu - Scary Stories for Young Foxes is a book consisting of several stories all told by a mother to her kits.
Recommended anonymously
*The Sight (and its sequel The Fell) by David Clement-Davies - Set in the same universe as Fire Bringer, The Sight follows a pack of wolves cursed by a lone wolf, Morgra, whose powers foretell the destiny of one of the mother wolf's pups: Larka, a white wolf gifted with a mysterious power known as The Sight.
Not yet read.
*Last of the Curlews by Fred Bodsworth - A realistic depiction of the journey of the last of a critically endangered and soon to be extinct bird.
Not yet read.
Note: Has an animated adaptation!
Comics (Webcomics included)
Beasts of Burden written by Evan Dorkin and illustrated by Benjamin Dewey and Jill Thompson - The comics follow along the adventures of the ‘Beasts of Burden’ a group of animals who investigate paranormal happenings in their neighborhood.
Rating: With gorgeous art and an interesting world, I recommend! Just be warned, it is bloody and the sory doesn't hold your hand.
Note: Beasts of Burden currently has 21 comics published in Dark Horse Comics.
What Lurks Beneath by ArualMeow - A feral colony must grapple with a food shortage while simultaneously tussling with the divide between two groups of cats.
Rating - A highly compelling read. Each character plays a role in the unravelling drama of three siblings and you will walk away loving someone.
Note: Ongoing!
I Hope So by Detective Calico - A rewrite of My Pride turned into an original story, I Hope So follows the story of three lionesses navigating both the complicated politics of the lion prides but also the harsh environment they must survive in.
Rating: Slow to update but absolutely worth it! I Hope So is a charming and interesting read. It’s yet to finish but it’s far enough that you'll be able to invest yourself in the world and characters with no trouble!
Note: Ongoing!
Tofauti Sawa by TheCynicalHound - A revenge story that follows a spotted hyena named Sahara.
Rating: Tofauti Sawa is not here to endear you to its protagonists or hold your hand. It can be a tough read but a worthwhile one nonetheless. I need to catch up but I recommend it!
Note: Ongoing!
*Golden Shrike by Doeprince - A story about twin deer and their friends and their search to retrieve three fallen stars for a bored God.
Rating: Yet to read but I've heard good things!
Note: Ongoing!
*Doe of Deadwood by Songdog - It follows a deer who has a pact with a demon that takes the form of a tree. It has some heavy themes and light gore.
Recommended by @beeloaf
Note: Complete!
Jet and Harley by Doeprince - Described as a beautiful piece on grief and moving on, Jet and Harley stars a kitty cast and gorgeous artwork.
Rating: Recommended anonymously. It's still starting but it has some strong set up and charming writing going for it, I recommend keeping an eye on it!
Note: Ongoing!
Preeny Has to Repeat 6th Grade by momodriller - A love letter to adoptables and the creativity of young artists, this charming comic utilizes designs bought from adoptables on DeviantArt! It follows the story of Preeny, a young cat with a magic brush tail and what happens when her whole world turns upside down.
Rating: Beyond adorable, charming and sweet. There's a lot of love put into this webcomic and it shows! Highly recommend.
Note: Ongoing!
Africa by Arven92 - The story of a female leopard named Africa and her quest to protect her family and loved ones while her territory comes under threat.
Rating: Gorgeously drawn and with a story that twists, Africa pulls no punches in showing you the wickedness of its antagonists but also the enduring bond of a family.
Note: Ongoing!
*Oren's Forge by Teagan Gavet - A webcomic that explores the dynamics of predator and prey and what happens when those divisions fall in the story of a pair of pine martens and their journey for sanctuary.
Rating: Not yet read
Note: Ongoing!
*Pride of Baghdad written by Brian K. Vaughan and Niko Henrichon - A graphic novel falling the fictionalized account of the real life escape of four lions from the Baghdad Zoo after an American bombing in 2003.
Rating: Not yet read.
Content warning for graphic violence, gore, animal death, and a brief one panel depiction of sexual assault.
I Didn't Know by Songdog - A comic about a cat exiled from her Church.
Rating: Not yet read.
Note: Ongoing
Manga & Anime
*Silver Fang Gin and Ginga Densetsu Weed written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Takahashi - The original and the sequel respectively, the manga series follow Akita dogs, Gin and Weed. While Silver Fang focuses on Gin's search to fight the monstrous "Red Helmet", Weed follows the titular Weed and his search for his father.
Rating: I've not read this but upon getting recommended it, multiple people warned me about the misogyny in the series. Ye be warned. Additionally, the manga is (apparently) very gory!
Note: Both have anime adaptations. Weed's opening is a fucking banger go watch it at the very least.
Beastars (and Beast Complex by extension) written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki - In a world of anthromorphic animals, Beastars follows Legosi, a young wolf navigating his complicated feelings towards other species and learning more about his world.
Rating: Beastars is action-packed, fun, emotional, and dramatic! The first half is a compelling story of identity and how we interact with one another and the complex forces of society that drive our feelings, all wrapped up in a wonderous animal metaphor. As a coming-of-age story, it carries themes of desire, sexual desire, yearning, shame, and more. The second half is eeeeehhh not as strong, but I still recommend it nonetheless!
Note: Beastars currently has an anime adaptation by Studio Orange! It looks fantastic and has some really nice quality of life changes. Highly recommend.
Chi's Sweet Home written and illustrated by Konami Kanata - An adorable slice-of-life story following a cute kitten named Chi adapting to her new home.
Rating: It's just plain cute! If you're looking for something adorable to help you relax, I recommend this one. It's for a younger age demographic so don't go in expecting deep storylines or anything.
Note: Chi's Sweet Home has two adaptations: one with traditional 2D Japanese animation and two seasons and a 2016 3DCGI adaptation. I'd recommend the original adaptation but that's pure preference.
Nyankees written and illustrated by Atsushi Okada - A comedy manga that depicts street cats as brawling "yankees", drawing them as both cat and human to depict their brawls over food, territory, and ladies!
Rating: It's funny, I can't deny the humor in this one makes me chuckle. It's a little racy but otherwise, a fun, light-hearted read.
*A Cat's Tale written by Sae-Him Kwon and Hyeon-Jung Kim and illustrated by Kwon-Sam - A thrilling tale of murder and deception from the animals living on the Sae-Min's farm from the point of view of an elderly cat.
Rating: Yet to read, discovered on Anime-Planet's search system.
Monotone Blue written and illustrated by Nagabe - A story set in high school, it's a BL manga that follows Hachi the cat and Aoi the lizard.
Rating: Yet to read, but I adore the author's other works so I have high expectations!
*Neko to Ryuu written by Amara and illustrated by Sasaki Izumi- A cat raises a baby dragon as her own.
Rating: Yet to read but come on, that sounds adorable.
A Story of Seven Lives written and illustrated by Shirawaka Gin - A Story of Seven Lives follows Nanao, a former housecat turned street cat after a terrible tragedy.
Rating: It's a tearjerker and absolutely adorable. The artwork is lovely and all the cats' designs look fantastic. if you're interested in a simple drama about the relationship between cats and people, i would highly recommend it.
Note: There are human protagonists! If you want pure animal protagonists, maybe skip this one.
Film
i'm not gonna put every disney or dreamworks film on here i'm sure a majority of us know that disney makes a lot of already popular animal films. if possible, i'd like to spotlight some films that weren't made by big studios and/or don't get a lot of attention. Further note, some of these are adaptations of children's books. I'm cheating a little here mainly because the adaptations are more well-known and probably more appealing for readers of this list than the original books. Uh, sorry.
The Brave Little Toaster directed by Jerry Rees - The film follows the adventures of sentient kitchen appliances and the search for their owner.
Rating: Aimed for a younger audience, it's an adorable viewing for all ages.
Isle of Dogs directed by Wes Anderson - In the year 2038, canine flu breaks out in a futuristic Japan and all dogs are sent to 'trash island' where they fight to survive. One day, a young Japanese boy crashes down on trash island to find his dog.
Rating: The stop-motion animation is gorgeous, the writing is fun and charming, and the visuals are amazing, however the film has rightfully garnered criticism for its stereotypical depiction of Japanese society and 'white savior' narrative around one of its human characters.
Chirin no Suzu (English Title: Ringing Bell/Chirin's Bell) directed by Masami Hata - On a farm, Chirin witnesses the death of his mother to a wolf. Distraught and filled with rage, Chirin vows to get revenge and trains to do so.
Rating: A fantastic and visually striking film, the film's cute aesthetics hide a sombre and darker story. Would recommend!
*Vuk (English Title: The Little Fox) directed by Atilla Dargay - A Hungarian animated film that follows the life of a fox and how he must use his wits to survive.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Arashi no Yoru Ni (English Title: One Stormy Night) directed by Gisaburō Sugii - On one stormy night, a sheep and a wolf take refuge from a storm in the same abandoned home and befriend each other...unaware of what species the other is until later. They strike an unusual friendship that's tested when their respective groups begin to clash.
Rating: Cute, sweet, and well-animated, One Stormy Night is well known for the romantic undertones of its two leads. I think it's adorable and highly recommend.
Note: It received another adaptation of the same source material, a 3D animated show where they made the sheep a girl. Do with that information what you will.
Leafy, A Hen into the Wild directed by Oh Sung-yoon - A farm chicken dreams of one day living a life in the wild and raising her own clutch of eggs and, after faking her death to escape, finally gets the opportunity to do so.
Rating: A gorgeous animated film with moments that will tug at your heart strings. It's got some kiddy jokes with poop and fart jokes but they're not too distracting. Would recommend!
Note: Please find a version with the ORIGINAL ending, not the censored one. It is more thematically fitting and one heck of a gut-punch.
Underdog/A Dog's Courage directed by Lee Chun-baek and Oh Sung-yoon - After being abandoned by his owners, a dog joins up with a pack of other dogs in search of 'paradise'.
Rating: Despite some poor pacing and wonky tonal problems, I think this movie is still worth checking out! The character designs are cute and it's decent entertainment if you've got some time.
Note: There's a post that says this movie is about dogs escaping to North Korea, it's not true. They escape from North Korea to South Korea.
Padak directed by Dae-Hee Lee - A dark and sometimes brutal film about a wild fish that ends up in a restaurant fish tank that overlooks the ocean. The film stays there and the audience is given a tense, nerve-wracking narrative of life and death.
Rating: A fantastic, emotional movie that uses its limited setting to its full advantage. It's brutal and unforgiving but one hundred percent worth the watch.
Khumba directed by Anthony Silverston - A film that follows a zebra with only half his stripes and his journey to gain the rest of them in hopes of being accepted by his herd.
Rating: It's fine, a little wonky but it has a lot of heart.
Earnest and Celestine directed by Stéphane Aubier, Vincent Patar and Benjamin Renner - A gorgeous 2D French animated film based on a series of children's films about a bear who takes in an orphan mouse in an anthropomorphic society that does not approve.
Rating: you're going to get cavities at how sweet this film is. Charming, funny, and visually stunning, you would be remiss if you didn't watch this wonderful film at least once.
The Land Before Time directed by Don Bluth - After tragedy strikes, young Apatosaurus must embark on a journey to find the Great Valley.
Rating: It's a classic! A bit cutesy and meanders at times, but still worth a watch.
Note: Pretty well known for the host of direct-to-DVD sequel movies it produced, a television series, and a video game.
Television (Online Productions Included)
My Pride directed by Maddi Patton - My Pride is an independent internet production that follows the tale of a disabled lion named Nothing trying to exist in her cruel society.
Rating: My Pride is clearly a work of passion, one can’t deny the creator clearly had a vision of what she wanted from this show. However, the execution is flawed and the handling of disability has been (rightfully) criticized. While the animators and voice actors have clearly put a lot of love and effort into the project, the writing falls short of what it could be.
Note: The series ends on a cliffhanger and has been discontinued. You have been warned.
My Little Pony (Generations 1-5) developed by Hasbro - If you like ponies, here you go! While G1 did have a human character, G3 to G5 are purely horsies. Each generation has a different story and main cast to follow.
Rating: Very obviously for a younger age demographic, the generations do have their own charm! G4 is popular for a reason with a sleek style, witty writing, and a lovely cast of characters.
Azurehowl and Azurehowl Reborn created by azurehowlshilach - Bet this one brings back nostalgia lol Azurehowl is set in a world where wolves have the magic of dragons! It centers around Ruuza who may be more special than she realizes.
Rating: i gotta rewatch this one to make my thoughts clear but i remember finding it charming. Azurehowl Reborn appears to be the remake/reboot of the original series.
Note: Ongoing!
Twelve by Petpyves - An original series about May and Imp, a duo who's jobs are to jump from body to body and guide them to a better end, results vary. It's a work of love and has some really strong concepts and writing, as well as doing its best to handle more mature subejcts with respect.
Rating: It's rough around the edges but nonetheless a great show to binge! I recommend it, though it's been a while since I watched it.
Note: Complete!
No Evil by Betsy Lee - In the land of myths and fables incarnate a group of spirits live their casual lives alongside humans, until a cataclysmic force thought to be dealt with shows once again in the world. A prequel series to the webcomic Brother Swan.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Note: Complete!
Burrow's End by Dimension 20 - A Dungeons & Dragons campaign following a group of stoats.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Note: Complete!
Video Games
Okami developed by Clover Studios - You play as the wolf Amaterasu on her journey to save the world from forces of darkness.
Rating: A classic for a reason. Fun to play, great story, lovely characters. Would recommend!
Stray developed by Bluetwelve Studios - In a walled city populated by robots, you play as a cat.
Rating: ending made me bawl. Gameplay is a bit clunky, the platforming is essentially hitting buttons to automatically jump to your destination instead of you jumping yourself. Otherwise, would recommend!
*Tokyo Jungle developed Crispy's! - Set in a deserted, furistic Tokyo, you can select from a wide array of animals to play as and survive.
Rating: never played but maaan do I want to.
*Spirit of the North developed by Infuse Studio- You play as an ordinary red fox whose story becomes entwined with the guardian of the Northern Lights, a female spirit fox.
Rating: Yet to play.
Untitled Goose Game developed by House House - honk
Rating: honk
*Copoka developed by Inaccurate Interactive - You play as a pigeon trying to build a nest in a totalitarian state.
Rating: Yet to play.
*Seasons After Fall developed by Swing Swing Submarine - 2D platformer where you play as a fox in a magical land.
Rating: Yet to play.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon developed by Spike Chunsoft - A rogue-like RPG in which you take the form as a human turned Pokemon and must navigate your world. There are currently seven games to choose from, each with a unique world and story.
Rating: I love PMD, I'm putting it here because I'm biased. I love it a lot and it fits the criteria so here you go!
Cattails & *Cattails: Wildwood Story developed by Falcon Development - With the creator known for their WC fan game, Untold Tales, Cattails branched out from the bones of the fan game and became an original game of it's own! In this RPG, you play as a cat where you can hunt, fight, find love, and solve puzzles. Wildwood expands on the base mechanics, adding in farming, characters, and more!
Rating: I found the first Cattails to be cute and simple. It's not an intensive RPG, the mechanics become repetitive after a while. If you're someone who likes getting into the rhythm of a grindy rpg, you'll like this one. Not yet played Wildwood but I've heard it's great!
Rain World developed by Videocult - You play as a nomadic slugcat in a brutal world with only your wits, agility, and strength to survive. Eat, hunt, flee, and hibernate while finding out the secrets of your world.
Rating: Okay. this game is HARD. Like unfair hard. Imprecise controls, brutal difficulty, and sometimes really unfair save points - this one is tough. However, it is gorgeous and it's really fun seeing all the beautiful environments the creators came up with. Enemies are also incredibly complex, reacting to each other and you in different ways. It's an acquired taste, while it wasn't for me personally, I would recommend giving it a try at the very least.
Miscellaneous
Additions that aren't necessarily xenofiction but pertain to it in some way.
Cheek by Jowl: Animals in Children's Literature by Ursula K. Le Guin -A fantastic essay that explores the role of the animal in children's literature from its role as something to reflect human society, or how it teaches children about animals. Furthermore, it explores the ways in which xenofiction can intentionally or unintentionally reinforce human bigotry through what we deem the "natural" order of the world.
Rating: Please read if you're interested in xenofiction! A fantastic essay that kicks you off thinking critically about what xenofiction has to say. The essay has a striking section on Watership Down that I highly recommend reading.
Cardinal West (YouTube) - A YouTube channel that discusses xenofiction. Videos that I recommend to start with are:
How (Not) to Write Xenofiction: A Literary Autopsy of “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy” by Clive Woodall (CW for discussions of sexual assault)
How Adapting The Fox and the Hound Changed Animation

Hello, I came because I was looking for things about creepypasta, it's been so long that I really think it's already a little dead- and I saw your writing about them so I came to ask something about that if you still write for them well am I lucky? Anyway, here I go…

Slenderman
Tumblr media
It is canon that Slenderman is very tall, above than ten feet tall so it was no wonder many people are scared of this faceless creature and no one has a gut to mess with him.
So it is no surprise that you are imagining yourself hanging onto your romantic partner like a monkey that is hanging onto a tree, it is quite an amusing sight.
Because of these thoughts, you finally have the courage to do it just to see your boyfriend's reaction if you are hanging onto him and latching him like a koala would.
Slenderman's first-time reaction when you hung onto his arm like a koala, he was not only surprised but he was also quite confused about why are you hanging onto his arms.
"Darling, why are you hanging into my arms like this. Do you realize that...I am not a tree?" He raised his unexistent eyebrows in confusion.
The second time you are latching up to him and hanging onto his arms like a koala. He is not as much as surprised as before but he was still confused like the first time you were hanging onto his arm before.
"Why do you hang onto his arms like that? Is there any purpose? Or are you just bored and want to entertain yourself by clinging to my arm?" That is mostly what would Slenderman ask himself when looking at you while you are still hanging onto him.
As time goes by and you're always latching up to his arms like a koala would, he would just gonna let you be even though it would annoy him sometimes when he is busy.
Ⰶ║ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ║Ⰶ
Having Slenderman as your romantic partner has its own perks, especially if you are a book and literature lover because your boyfriend does collect some fiction books with great plot stories and characters. You have free access to your boyfriend's private library and his office room without getting killed in the place.
However, that does not mean you can be fully entertained even if you have this access and you need more than just Reading books to make yourself not get bored. The poor (Y/N) NEED more, it could be going outside and wandering around in the forest, interacting with the other proxies, or anything that just can kill your boredom.
The grandpa clock on the wall still ticking painfully and Slenderman is busy reading the books that he got from stealing other creatures' libraries, for what? Who knows, you never understand your boyfriend's mindset and goal.
Not wanting to die out of boredom, an idea popped and crossed into your mind and the corner of your lips tugged upwards but it was stopped immediately by Slenderman's words."(Y/N) darling, please don't even think like that. I am busy reading this book and don't bother me." But that did not stop the (Y/N) (L/N). Walking very slowly towards your tall faceless boyfriend, there was a buzzing noise in (Y/N)'s head but she/he/they decide to ignore the sound as it gets louder and louder whereas you were getting closer to the faceless giant in front of you. Without any second thought, you leapt into the air as the calves of your legs used as a spring.
"(Y/N)-!" Slenderman accidentally threw his book away seeing you suddenly tackling him. Both of your arms were tightly wrapped around his torso as well as both of your legs. An innocent smile adorned across of your face with a twinkle in both of your eyes that shows 'mischief." He was standing there, frozen in surprise seeing you acting like this but it did not last long before Slenderman takes a deep breath.
"Fine....just don't bother me while I'm reading," Slenderman mutters.

Splendorman
Tumblr media
Now Splendorman may be as tall as his older but he was a little bit shorter than his faceless stuck-up brother so it also means you can hang onto your boyfriend, Splendorman.
Unlike his brother, Splendorman has also more patience than his brother so it was no surprise that you didn't get unpunished by his reaction when you were hanging onto his arms.
There would be even a time he is encouraging you to climb him and then hanging onto his arms like a koala, then. He would laugh because he thinks it was rather funny.
The first time this happens, Splendorman was very surprised by you climbing and hanging onto his arms like a koala. He did not expect it but he did not mind it instead, he find this sight amusing.
He could not help but let out some small giggles here and there while watching you do that. he thinks you look adorable like this and even sometimes even offers you some candy while you are climbing his arms.
Not only he does gives candy to you to make you happy but he also swings his arms gently to rock you if you are getting bored and need some kind of challenge, he wong swings too hard to make you fall off.
He won't get annoyed like Slenderman does if you keep swinging or climbing him like a Koala every day, he just genuinely thinks you are bored and need entertainment or be affectionate.
Thus, if you want to cling to someone like a koala? It is better having him as the 'tree'. He genuinely thinks you look cute doing this to him.

Lights are everywhere inside the carnival as well as sounds of people chattering around despite the sound was not from a real human. Those loud and lingering sounds actually came from the radio and the speaker just to make the carnival less lonely. A certain peculiar person with (H/C) hair colour and (E/C) eye colour had a date with a certain smiling man.
The two of you hold hands together with a blush adorning both of your cheeks, smiling happily and walking with the certain giant with a polka dot suit. He has been spoiling you since Valentine's day and today he brought you to his personal carnival which is less creepy than Laughing Jack's carnival.
"(Y/N) Sweetiepie. I have a surprise for you but you need to close your eyes and follow me," Splendorman's grin widened.
"What kind of surprise?" You ask him.
"Oh honey, it's a surprise. If I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore," he puffs both of his cheeks playfully, making himself look like a squirrel.
"Alright, fine. Just don't give me a poisonous candy like that jerk, Laughing Jack," you told him
"I promise I won't," he gently put the blindfold over of your eyes before tying the end of the cloth.
His large and cold hands gently held both of your smaller hands before gently pulling you, "Follow me..." he whispers. Believing your boyfriend, you began stepping forward and following his voice as well as his lead, wondering what kind of surprise he is going to give you.
‿︵‿︵\ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ/︵‿︵‿Timeskip
It was quite a long walk and (Y/N) could feel both of their/her/his feet began aching in pain after a long stroll together with Splendorman. His voice reaches out to your ears once the two of you stop together, "Now, you can open the blindfold." Your heart began beating like crazy as if it was just gonna pop out of nowhere but you knew Splendorman will never endanger you in any way.
Lowering the blindfold carefully, both of your eyes widen in surprise to see several boxes laid on top of the tables with a pair of chairs facing each other. Of course near the table, there is an enormous teddy bear holding a red heart with a written 'I love you.'
(Y/N) could not help but the smile across your face brightens seeing all of the surprises that Splendorman gave you before you jump up to your boyfriend, squealing in happiness and wrapping your arms around his torso, nuzzling your head on the crook of his neck and hugging him as if he was a soft teddy bear.
The smiling man could not help but he was utterly surprised seeing your reaction but it did not last long as a chuckle escapes from his throat, wrapping his tendrils and arms around you and hugging you closer before his lips placed on top of the crown of your head, "I'm glad you like it, (Y/N)."

Laughing Jack
Tumblr media
Laughing Jack might be one of the tallest proxies in the mansion among the killers after Splendorman and Slenderman but he's also a little bit shorter than them.
Thus, he is also can be climbed like a tree and hugging him like a koala when you are getting bored. Unlike Slenderman, he did not find this strange.
He also did not find it annoying either. Just like Splendorman, he thinks this sight might be really amusing because he did not think you are going to pull this kind of stunt.
However, he is not as nice as Splendorman who he just gonna let you be hanging onto him like a koala peacefully. Nope, Laughing Jack can be a little bit of an ass.
The reason I am saying this is because he will in fact gonna swing your pretty hard just to scare you off and pretend he will gonna drop you just for shit giggles.
Oh, you are still not getting scared by that prank that he just pull out on you? he will do so much worse than just swinging you hard. Laughing Jack would even try to tickle you out of nowhere until you laugh your ass off and let him go.
He's not going to be ass forever though so don't worry about him keep being an annoying piece of shit. WHen he was nice, he would offer you a candy that is not poisonous and save for you to eat.
Sometimes would let you hang onto him while he is watching his favorite shows and would be sweet enough for cuddling you closer to his arms
Ⰶ║ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ║Ⰶ
it was never a boring day having Laughing Jack as your boyfriend, he always had a bright idea to make the day more fun and enjoyable despite it can be sometimes really chaotic and could make Slenderman angry because of the mess. But it did not last long until recently.
Today there's supposed to be a mission given by the faceless man to you and your boyfriend by killing people who found out about their secret but those people already got handled by Jeff and Eyeless Jack on the day beforehand so the two of you had a free time after all of those dramas.
(Y/N) and Laughing Jack currently sitting on the couch together with the middle of the sofa are a bowl of wrapped hard candies that Laughing Jack had made for you and himself while watching whatever in front of the TV.
Both of the lids of (Y/N) eyes were getting heavy and heavier with each second, the boredom slowly going to kill them/her/him and going to make (Y/N) fall asleep at any second whereas the certain clown enjoys the horror show about a clown dismembering children. It's not really a TV show, it was a recorded video of him torturing children.
But it did not last long as your eyes opened once again and both of (E/C) eye colours landed on the monochrome clown who keeps giggling like a madman and an idea popped across your mind. The clown did not notice that you were moving very slowly, getting closer to him with each second.
BAM!
Laughing Jack yelped and then his eyes shited at the certain (H/C) hair-coloured killer who already tackling him down. Both of her/his/their arms wrapped around the monochrome clown torso and a smile danced across of (Y/N)'s face. Instead of getting angry, Laughing Jack laughed out loud, seeing what (Y/N)'s just did was hella hilarious.
"HAHAHAHAHA! YOU LOOK LIKE A KOALA!" He pointed out.
"I'm aware of that," you retaliate, popping the tongue out from your mouth.
"Hehehe, were you bored? I'm sorry my little kitten getting bored," he said before one of his fingers took one of the candies and put the sweet inside of your mouth. Accepting his gesture, your lips parted away and let the sweet glide inside of your mouth with a lemon-like flavour covered your whole mouth.

Jason the Toymaker
Tumblr media
Just like Laughing Jack, Jason the Toymaker might be a little bit calmer than Laughing Jack but that doesn't mean he hates physical touch, especially by you.
He might be not as tall as Slenderman and Splendorman but his height is almost the same as Laughing Jack (Which means, he is quite really tall).
So seeing you hanging onto him and cuddling him like a a koala latching on the tree makes his cold heart box melt seeing you like this.
Although he does finds it a little bit weird you're doing this because just like 'Am I really climbable? Why is (Y/N) clinging to my arms like a koala?'
Cuz he never sees adults doing this, he only sees kids doing this and his ex-friend too but that girl was when she was still a kid too although he did not mind it in the end.
He's less of a jerk like Laughing Jack because he's not going to scare you off on purpose just for shit and giggles but he does find it annoying if you do this when he is trying to make a doll.
Just don't hang onto him like a koala when he's working or he will give the scariest glare at you before he kicks you out of his room for distracting him from his job.
Overall, just like a Splendorman and Laughing Jack but much calmer than the two of them. Loves you when you're clingy like this, especially when the two of you hanging out together.
Ⰶ║ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ║Ⰶ
Tonight was the day after all of the children he had brought turned into a doll and the certain doll maker finally had free time to hang out together with his S/O. Sweats have been trickling down from the scalp of his forehead and those dolls got sent away. Jason the Toymaker is definitely tired after all of the missions that Slenderman has given to him.
He could not wait to just hang out with you and spend the rest of the time together doing something relaxing or maybe going out to ease his upcoming headache. The certain red-haired killer trudges slowly from the abandoned hallway and leaves the dark hallway before he went to the closest room which is the living room.
Inside the living room, he can see the certain killer with (H/C) hair colour with a (H/L) Hair length, the particular person also has a pair of (E/C) eye colours as well as (S/C) skin colour on the screen in front of them/her/him. (Y/N) could not help but yawn as their/her/his finger keeps pressing on the button of the remote TV, keep changing the channels to find an interesting show but none of them made you get excited enough.
Jason could not help but silently chuckles as he sees your condition, he found it was a little bit funny but also a little bit sad that you're bored out of your mind. Even the news that shows the recent kill that proxies had done did not make (Y/N) giddy at all. Instead, it makes (Y/N) yawn harder than before.
Jason slowly approaches you as your ears pick up the sound of his footsteps getting closer to you and your eyes shifted to the certain toymaker. Despite he was grinning creepily, it was just his happy smile as he sees you, "Are you bored, darling?" Jason the Toymaker asks.
You did not say anything to him but to answer his question, you gave him a brief nod before you shifted your butt away from the couch, letting your boyfriend sit next to you. But your next action made the poor red-haired killer startled a little bit. Both of your arms wrapped around his shoulder with legs also wrapped around his waist, gently placing your head on his cold shoulder and nuzzling your head on the crook of his neck.
"Uhh..darling? What are you doing??" he asks, raising his eyebrows a little bit but also smiling a little bit, finding this scene to be amusing.
"Hanging to you like a koala...now shut up," you mumble.
Hearing your answer, Jason could not help but rolls his green eyes playfully at you before he places his long slender fingers on top of your hand, gently giving a soothing rub on the back of your head. He's glad that you're acting a little bit clingy today despite you look like a koala hanging onto him.

idk if you’d be comfortable writing this but I was wondering if you could whip up an Aphrodite!reader who’s fed up with her beauty. She stops attending school and stays the full term at camp which makes Luke confused. So she tells him about how random dudes would hit on her and be creepy at her school or something. She’d prolly join him with Kronos bc she wants to feel respected for once. Would be such an angsty but filled with femme rage although totally cool if you choose not to write this~ Just wanted to share it with someone 💛
Pairing: Luke Castellan x Aphrodite!Reader
Summary: Maybe you didn't want to be beautiful anymore.
Content: pretty angsty, brief mentions of male harassment but nothing explicit or triggering, again sorry for the wait i had w block pls forgive me. also not proofread sorry yall its been a rough week.
You were only faintly aware of the noise around you.
The chatter of the city was a mere buzz in the back of your head as you marched down the street. It amazed you, really, just how unbelievably dickish mortal boys could be. This one in particular; Mike Schwartz, a five foot something jock who sat on the bench at every game. He’d been a bother in your life since you started high school. Back then, you took the endless prospects as a compliment – you truly were your mother’s daughter. It was a boost to your weak teenage confidence.
But as the years went by, the constant asking for your hand became an irritant. Especially when they couldn’t get the hint – at fourteen, turning down guys felt amazing, but when those same guys kept coming back for more, it made your eye twitch. Couldn’t they take the first no, tuck their tail between their legs and fuck off?
Apparently not.
After four years of putting up with it, you were done. Storming out of the cafeteria, grabbing all your things, hailing a cab and getting the hell outta dodge. Maybe you should’ve stopped to think — called your dad, taken a few deep breaths. But the harder you thought about it, after trying not to for so many years, you came to the conclusion that you would’ve ended up here anyway.
Here being the peak of HalfBlood Hill in the middle of September. It was only slightly unusual, because when you usually arrive at the start of summer you get to watch the crowds of arrivals setting up shop at camp. Now, however, it was fairly desolate. Less people, you knew.
It was also a split second shock when you stepped across the border and felt the drastic change in weather. From the cool breeze of the autumn air to the warm summery spring that camp was in year-round. A shift that made you pause, but you kept on down the hill anyway.
Chiron was waiting for you on the porch of the Big House, and without so much as a word, gestured for you to follow him inside. He was fairly understanding of your situation, but made you Iris Message your dad and tell him of your decision. He, too, was more glad you were safe than angry you ran off.
“We can talk about this when you feel like talking.” He’d said.
So you’d done it. Finally, you’d gotten yourself away from the hey hot stuffs and the you seeing anyone baby?s. You were back at camp, you were where you were most happy.
But you weren’t happy.
Being a year-rounder, you’d discovered, was a lot less busy than being a summer camper. You got more days off, longer breaks between activities. You found yourself spending more time in your own company; something you never really got to do before. Most of the time you were with your siblings, or your mortal friends, or you were being hounded by some frat boy and their friends.
It took a minute to get used to the loneliness, but you did. You explored camp, found places you hadn’t seen before. A cute clearing near a stream on the east side of the forest, or a Satyr sanctuary on the far end of the beach. You read more books, you trained a little harder, you perfected six new hairstyles on your little sister Elena and Annabeth from the Athena Cabin.
And yet, you were still pissed off.
“Why?”
Luke Castellan was a name everyone knew in this little corner of Long Island. One of the oldest campers, head counsellor of the rowdiest cabin, token tour guide for the new kids. Oh, and the best swordsman camp had seen in, like, three centuries. He was cute, that much you’d heard all around your cabin. But you’d never really held a solid conversation with him until you became a year-rounder. The fewer people around, the more you run into him.
You’d been practising a few neat tricks with a dagger when he spotted you. Said he was there to train himself for once and that you wouldn’t even notice he was there. You did, though. Especially when he took his shirt off twenty minutes in.
You shared a water break, he asked you why you’d transferred to being a year rounder, and you indulge him in the story. He was super nice about it too, which made you angry. Was Luke the only nice guy on the planet?
“But at least you’re happier now, right?” He’d said. You weren’t, you told him that much. He gave you this knowing look you’d never seen on him before, and asked Why?
You shrugged, “I don’t know. I love it here, I do. But I shouldn’t have to uproot my entire life and bring it here just to get some semblance of peace. I shouldn’t have to give up my education, my friends, my dad, just so I don’t have to get harassed every day. It’s not even like my mom gave me anything to help combat it, either. She just made me beautiful and told me to deal with the consequences! I mean,” You let out a weak chuckle, holding up the dagger you’d been toying with, “This was a birthday present from a friend in Cabin Six. Not even my mother, who is a warrior herself, could bother sending me a weapon. They really don’t give two shits about us, do they?”
He’d parted his lips, eyes shining with something, and looked at you through his bottom lashes, “No. They don’t.”
You and Luke grew closer after that. A lot closer. By the time summer rolled around and the rest of the campers returned, you were inseparable. Many rumours spread but you two ignored them in favour of sneaking into that clearing you’d found and talking in whispers about your hatred for the gods. Who cared if they could hear you? Let them.
It was Luke who had come up with the idea to steal the bolt. A quick job, in and out, and maybe then they’d listen to what you’d have to say. But they didn’t — they did exactly what they always did and risked the lives of two young demigods and a satyr just because they couldn’t be bothered doing it themselves. Selfish — that’s what they were. They didn’t care about anyone —
“ — but themselves!” You glared at Thalia, who stood before you atop Mount Tamalpais with her spear in your direction. “I mean, look at your dad. He didn’t care enough to stop the monsters from killing you, oh, but it’s okay because he turned you into a damn tree!”
“This isn’t the way!” Annabeth yelled from afar. Her hair was twisted in a style you’d taught her how to do that first year as a year-rounder. It broke your heart that she couldn’t see how right you and Luke were.
“Curse them, Thalia.” You said plainly, holding up your dagger. Half mortal metal, half celestial bronze. A gift from Luke. “Curse your father and his children. His brothers. Curse them all like they deserve to be cursed! They deserve to be toppled.”
You tilted your head, looking at them all. Luke and your army were heading steadily up the mountain. If you could convince them now, there wouldn’t need to be a battle.
“Where are they now, huh?” You raised both your arms, “You’re fighting for your life against a titan on a mountain and the only god who came to help out was Artemis? And that’s just because she was here already.” You scoffed out a laugh, “You should thank us, really, for taking her. Had we not, you’d be dead already.”
Annabeth watched. You were unrecognisable in that moment — your face streaked with dirt and blood, curled into a dark sneer that any of your siblings would berate you for because of the wrinkles you’d get. You didn’t seem to care all that much, though. Not when Thalia was lunging for you and attempting to pull you out of the rage you were in. Not when her spear and shield were no match for your measly dagger and you went toppling down the mountain.
The next time any of them saw you was in Manhattan — after believing you to be dead for a year and a half, it came as a shock when you emerged from the crowd of monsters. Your hair was hacked short, and one of your legs had been replaced with a bronze prosthetic. You fought with a ruthlessness none of them had seen in you before, whether it be because you were on the losing side or because Luke had given his body to the Lord of Time before you had the chance to tell him you loved him. You were still angry, and even if you hated Kronos, you didn’t hate him nearly as much as you hated the gods.
When Luke died, you were kneeled beside him. Your face was dirty, your hair was knotty, and there was a dent in your bronze leg. He lifted a hand to your face, “I’m sorry to have to say this, but…you’re sorta beautiful.”
“Sorta?”
He grinned, and then he died, and you were filled with such unbridled rage that you pushed yourself down to the ground of Manhattan and tore through Kronos’ army with fire in your eyes, not stopping until Apollo got rid of your sight and forced you to calm down. You didn’t know if you’d ever be calm, since the only person who ever understood you just died in your arms, but you dropped your dagger and stomped your way back up to Olympus like a bratty child anyway.
Zeus didn’t punish you for what you did, but he did say he’d be keeping a firm eye on you. You joined the hunters, much to your mothers disdain, and didn’t ever allow yourself to look back.

Sueños de piedra (ch1)
Okay, I promised (to myself) to check out whatever media won the ultimate obscure blorbo tournament ( @who-do-i-know-this-man (I wasn't sure whether to tag you or not but in the end I figured I might as well, hope you don't mind I guess))
Turns out that it's a guy from a 2015 Spanish YA fantasy book
And turns out there's a free sample available! Which is lucky for me because I'm currently very broke
Tumblr media
Sueños de piedra by Iria G. Parente and Selene M. Pascual
I don't speak Spanish so I'm gonna rely on the translator quite a lot lmao (well I understand some Spanish actually, but definitely not enough to read a whole book)
The title translates to something like "Dreams of Stone" I think?
Once upon a time in a kingdom far, far away, a prince rewarded a wizard for helping rescue a young girl in trouble. Charming. Too bad none of this is true. In reality, the prince dreams of glory and revenge; the magician, with her spells not always being a disaster and the young woman in trouble, with fleeing from a past that torments her... and from the memory of the man she has killed. Once upon a time...
(Yes this is just Google Translate, sorry)
Okay so, prince, magician and a damsel in distress? Prince wants revenge for something, who knows what, magician is having trouble doing the magic, and the damsel is in fact a killer? Ok ok
The dedication goes as follows:
To all those who embark on a direct journey towards their dreams every day. May you always reach your destination.
Tumblr media
Okay so Marabilia is a place? That's apparently also the name of this book series. Is this like the kingdom then? So it consists of three islands, two small ones and one big? Or is it supposed to be a continent? It definitely seems too small to be a continent
I know the blorbo is called Arthmael de Silfos so I'm guessing he's from the Silfos area in the north of the big island then. I can see what's probably a city called Duan and a forest called "Merlon Forest". We also have different towers around the big island, one of which seems to be called the Tower of Black Magic. (I didn't even need to use the translator for those yay xD)
Okay the first chapter is called Arthmael so I guess we're meeting our blorbo already, which is nice
— Let me make it clear: are you going to give my crown to a bastard?
Okay..... the very first line and I already think Arthmael might be a bit of a spoiled brat (I assume he's in fact the prince)
Apparently Arthmael just found out that he has an illegitimate older brother but I guess this brother's mother is noble anyway so it's legit? I dunno yet. Arthmael thinks this guy is blackmailing his father somehow and is already considering poison as a solution
And anyway, what kind of a name is Jacques for a king?
lmao, so much shade to all the kings called Jacques
Okay so Jacques's family is very powerful and loved by the people of Silfos and the king fears a civil war if he disrespects his claim to the throne. Alright. Kinda weird since based on Arthmael's thoughts, this society has a similar attitude to bastards as in European history, but okay then. I wonder if Jacques is even actually the king's son or is this some kind of a ruse?
Arthmael is very cheeky and even references his dad's love life directly to his face, his dad is not very happy
The king tells him to just be a good boy and hopefully they'll find him some crown princess to marry so he'll get a kingdom that way
I guess these different areas on the map are kingdoms then, that makes sense. They look like very small kingdoms but this is a small place in general.
Arthmael doesn't seem to mind this idea except that there's only one possible princess like that in Marabilia and that's Ivy de Dione. Not sure what's wrong with her.
Well, who knows? Maybe, if I wait a few moons, some other bastard, in Verves or Idyll, will come out from under a rock and come offer me her hand.
Somebody's very snarky, that's cute
Arthmael is very haughty about how the people have always known him as the crown prince and accepted him as such, Jacques laughs and asks what has he even done for the people. He's like well he hasn't really done much yet because he was planning to do things once he became king, but he's been supporting the local business (taverns) and employing servants (lmao). Also apparently there are some girls he's seeing...
Apparently Jacques's family are big traders and business people (despite being noblemen) and create lots of jobs, and also big on charity, so everybody loves them
Arthmael is jealous of how proud his dad looks when Jacques says this, and how he's never looked at him like that
Well, I guess you're kind of a little shit so it makes sense, Arthmael
— If the smartest thing is to become the idol of a few starving people in order to be king, I can do it too.
Oh my god, this little brat
He declares that he's going to be a hero, to overshadow the charity of Jacques' family, because heroes are remembered by history while philanthropist aren't
So he plans to become a storybook Prince Charming, saving damsels in distress etc.
Jacques finds this understandably hilarious, the king is not amused
Once Jacques leaves, the king again offers to arrange a marriage to Arthmael, specifically with the princess of Dione
I'm almost tempted. I have never been to Dione, but they say that their ships are the lightest and fastest, and that sailors come to their shores from the other side of the sea, speaking strange languages that only they understand. Who come from lands where women wear short dresses, if they wear anything at all. Places where war is so normal that, as soon as a child is strong enough to pick up a sword, they push him to the front lines.
Alright then, I see what he fixates on
Was there anything wrong with the princess then or?
Barbarians. I remove the thought from my mind.
Oh okay. What a charming young man /s
Dione is like right next to Silfos according to the map btw, is this like one of those neighbourly feuds?
Okay he says it's because he doesn't want a foreign kingdom, he wants to keep his home, which is fair I guess
The king is like what do you want me to do, kill Jacques and his pregnant wife? And Arthmael is just like yeah great idea, because he's a dumbass. The king is like wtf
Apparently Jacques' family is from that Duan city that I noted earlier, and his mother died a few days ago and apparently "her loss is greatly felt"
The king regrets spoiling Arthmael too much, and talks about how Arthmael doesn't understand anything about suffering or anything and only cares about girls
Arthmael is already considering faking his death to make them all feel sorry, because of course he is, he's exactly that kind of guy
He says he doesn't want to go try to charm the princess, he'd rather just go off on his own (also there's a whole bit about how only a man can rule Dione or something and the king of Dione won't accept his daughter to become a ruler)
His dad tells him no, just stay here and be a good boy, don't make everybody gossip about drama in the royal family
Arthmael is like hey you managed to hide your bastard son for years, you can hide my disappearance
They fight a bit more but then Arthmael just storms out, grabs a few things from his room and leaves
a change of clothes, a bag of coins, my sword, and my favourite cloak. I do not need anything else.
Okay then, good luck I guess
To be a hero you only need a brave heart. Or so they say.
I feel like you also need to not be a selfish prick but maybe that's optional
Okay end of first chapter!
Our blorbo seems like a real brat!
But I guess the point is probably that he needs to learn some lessons along the way, or something like that, idk. I'm sure there's a reason for why whoever entered him into the tournament likes him so much
I'm guessing the damsel in distress is not the princess? Probably? She wasn't called a princess anyway. TBH she's the character I'm currently the most curious about. The next chapter is from the point of view of someone called Lynne and I hope that's her. Could be the magician too though I guess? No wait, I think the magician is a guy. Altho idk maybe Lynne could be a guy's name, I don't fucking know.
I'm guessing that Arthmael will try to rescue the damsel so he can be a hero, because that's what heroes are supposed to do, but then it'll go wrong somehow? And then the magician will get involved somehow, I have no clue.
That's all my predictions I suppose. Altho I'm guessing that Jacques might turn out to be a villain somehow, I didn't get the vibe that he was particularly great either, just not as much of a brat as Arthmael, and it would then be something for Arthmael to do when he gets back home. Then again maybe the book will surprise me, who knows. To be honest, it would feel a bit like a cop out if it turns out that the guy he hates actually is evil, but it could be handled well, and it's not like I like Jacques either so far. He seems extremely sus too
No guesses as to what the title refers to yet, it could be anything
Idk, like I said, the damsel's storyline is the one that interests me the most rn, it might actually get me to read further (good job, blurb, you got me)
I still have a surprisingly good amount of the free sample left, there's actually nine chapters here, so idk, maybe I'll keep going? We'll see
I'm pretty happy with how much I was able to follow the text even on my own, altho I definitely had to rely on the translator. I would not have had the patience to try to translate all of this myself. But I definitely understood multiple full sentences! Yaaay xD
Apologies to fans of this book series, I hope I didn't seem too rude

j j j j j !!!! cardan reacting to y/n wiping his kisses away as a joke hehe
Drama King : Cardan Greenbriar x Reader
Description: 2.8k wc, Cardan is a simp for his wife/reader and becomes very dramatic about her wiping away his kiss. Fluff
Warnings: simp behavior lol, Cardan drinking, minor angst if you squint
Tumblr media
“Darling, have you seen my notepad?” Cardan asked, entering their library.
Y/n placed her palm against the page she was on in her book as she looked around her desk.
“The one from this morning?” She wondered.
She recalled Cardan utilizing his forest green gold-bound and embellished notebook during their brief weekly meeting with some of the folk of Elfhame.
Cardan hummed and walked to her, resting his hands on her shoulders as he began massaging them through the material of her gown.
Y/n shook her head before she tilted it back to look up at him, “No, I’m sorry”.
He sighed but nodded, perching himself on the desk next to her, “what are you reading, my dear?”
Y/n silently lifted the book up from the desk.
Her hand now pinched between the pages to keep her place as she showed him the cover.
Cardan squinted his eyes and formed an exaggeratedly disgusted look as he was the title: The Archives of Elfhame, Volume III.
As she lowered the book back to the desk, Cardan scoffed.
“We have far better tales than that rubbish,” He reminded her, waving his hand towards their massive collection of bookshelves.
Y/n chuckled, “I agree, but as Queen of Elfhame, I should really know this information”.
Cardan gave her a smug smirk as he whispered, “I have a better way to teach you”.
“Hmm and that is?” She questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.
“You'll just have to trust me” Cardan winked.
Y/n bit her lip, and shook her head to clear the unfairly attractive sight before her.
“Me, trust you?” Y/n pondered teasingly, “mmmm…yeah, sure”
Cardan crossed his arms over his chest and let out a loud puff of air, “I'm very trustworthy...”
Y/n raised an eyebrow at him, because while Cardan -like most of Elfhame- cannot lie, she knew her husband.
He was more than capable of twisting his words so they were vague enough or otherwise easily misinterpreted.
He chuckled softly, “well, when it comes to you”.
Y/n smiled and nodded.
It was true, y/n could always see through his lexicon manipulations.
She smirked and pretended to think about his offer.
Leaning back into her seat, she sighed, “perhaps when I begin to learn about trickery or the royal lineage, you can teach me, but for now I've got to learn this quick if I want to not make a fool of myself”.
“You couldn’t do that, you’re far too intelligent for that my darling” Cardan tsk’d.
Y/n chewed on her bottom lip as her eyes fluttered bashfully, “mm, I appreciate that gorgeous”.
Cardan blushed and stroked her check delicately, grinning at her.
Y/n hummed softly, leaning into his touch briefly.
She sighed as she pulled back, re-opening her book, “I really do need to focus though”.
Cardan pouted, swinging his legs against the edge of the desk; visually bored.
“Why don't you see if Roach or Ghost have seen your notebook?” Y/n suggested, giving him a small smile.
He seemed pleased at the idea, jumping up and giving her a soft kiss on the cheek before running off.
——
Y/n had finally started to get into a good pace, actually retaining some of the information when she heard her husband enter the library again.
She tried to ignore him, her eyes boring down at the detailed history on the page before her.
Cardan smirked to himself, silently approaching his wife and leaning his head down onto her shoulder.
Y/n suppressed a smile as he placed a kiss to her collarbone and left his lips there for a moment.
She took a deep breath to clear her head and then turned towards him.
“Cardan,” she sighed, “I need to focus”.
He groaned and frowned against her skin, “you can take a break”
“You know I can’t do that. I need to learn this before Friday” y/n argued.
His eyes skimmed the material and he whined, “but it’s boring”.
Y/n nodded, “I know, but still”.
He pouted but gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving to find a way to kill time.
——
A few hours had passed when y/n heard him enter again.
She rubbed her eyes, feeling them becoming exhausted from the constant strain.
Y/n waited quietly for Cardan to announce himself as she stretched her limbs.
But he didn’t say anything, just came up and wrapped his arms around her, over her chest.
She let herself sit like that for a few moments before the text on the page caught her attention.
As she tried to lean forward to resume her reading, her husband softly held her in place.
He smirked and placed a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
“Cardan” she whined playfully as she lifted her hand to wipe the slobber off her cheek.
He whimpered faintly, removing his hands from around her and stepping back.
“I really need to focus, no more kisses” she joked, still rubbing at her cheek.
Cardan pouted to himself and left silently, sulking out of the room.
Y/n turned to watch him leave, confused that he wasn’t trying to banter with her.
However, as she watched his overly dramatic exit, she lovingly rolled her eyes and returned to her reading.
——
Y/n slid the book backwards on the desk as she stood up.
Her limbs were strained beyond belief and all she wanted to do now was find her husband and curl up beside him to rest.
She grabbed the book and placed it back on the shelf, dragging her hand down the spine as she hummed.
She was finally done, she’d obtained what she needed from the book.
And now she could spend time with her husband, as he had wanted to earlier.
“Hey, have you seen Cardan?” Y/n asked Roach as she entered his office space.
Roach chuckled loudly, “your husband has been drinking”.
Y/n rolled her eyes, uncertain what was so funny about that, “what’s new?”
“Fair enough your highness,” Roach replied, chuckling when y/n groaned at her friend referring to her by her title.
“He’s been mopey and pouting whilst drinking” he added, a humorous glow in his eyes.
Y/n frowned slightly, knowing Cardan had been bored.
She knew it wasn’t her responsibility to cure his boredom.
Yet, she wished he’d have found something other than just pouting and drinking to keep him busy until she’d finished.
Nonetheless, y/n gave Roach a knowing look as this still wasn’t unusual behavior for Cardan.
Roach laughed and shook his head, “y/n, he doesn't really do that unless you're out of town”.
Y/n giggled softly as she recalled the times her husband would become exceptionally clingy when she’d return from a trip away.
“I’ll find him and see what's up, thanks” y/n responded on her way to check the dining hall.
——
Y/n suppressed a giggle as she entered the parlor and found the state her husband was in.
Cardan had his favorite gold-leafed wine glass in his shaky hands, the deep maroon liquid sloshing out from the rim.
She stood in the doorway, watching him curiously.
He seemed to be writing -or attempting to write that is- something important; his focus clearly displayed on his face.
She smiled, he evidently found his stationary at some point today.
“Honey?” Y/n called out softly, leaning against the frame of the door.
Cardan didn’t answer, just kept writing and accidentally dripping wine onto the table and papers as he did.
Y/n pursed her lips and made her way to him, bending down to see the notes in the candle lit room.
Much to her surprise, y/n found her name written at the top of each letter.
There were countless handwritten letters, and they were all addressed to her.
“Car, what’s going on?” She asked softly, placing her hand over his as he lifted the tip of his writing device from the paper briefly.
“You’re mad” he mumbled, setting his glass down before using that hand to softly move y/N’s off his other one.
“No, I’m not” she argued, pulling out the chair beside him.
Cardan didn’t answer, he just kept writing.
Y/n sighed softly, “Cardan, love, why do you think I’m mad?”
This time he finally looked up at her, his eyes glassy but it was hard to tell if it was from the copious amount of alcohol he’d consumed or his emotions.
Nonetheless, y/n hated seeing him like that.
Especially if it was because she’d done something to make him think she was mad.
She frowned deeply, reaching over and pushing the wine glass further away from them before taking both of his hands in hers.
“Cardan, talk to me” she requested, staring at him worriedly.
Cardan’s lips turned downward as his eyes flickered from the papers, to y/N’s eyes, to her cheek, then back to the papers.
“You wiped away my kiss” he stated, his voice laced with the tone of various emotions.
Y/n nearly choked on the smoke coming from the single candle on the table before them as her jaw dropped and lips parted.
“OH MY GOSH!” She exclaimed, dropping his hands and shaking her head, “you're so dramatic!”
“I am not” Cardan argued firmly, a weak glare sent her way as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“That's why you've been moping all day?” She clarified, laughing lightly.
She shook her head, “Car, you know when I'm mad, that's not mad”.
Cardan seemed to think over her words, his eyes shifting to the side as he bit his wine-stained bottom lip.
“Okay, I concede” he replied, looking back at his wife, “but, still, it was offensive”.
Her eyebrows raised as she dipped her head slightly, staring into his eyes, “are you serious?”
“Very much so, yes” Cardan affirmed adamantly, his chest puffed slightly.
Y/n rolled her eyes at his dramatics, “Ca-“.
Cardan stood from the table and kept his balance despite his legs being somewhat unsteady.
“I don't think you deserve my love or kisses right now, l'm sad to say” he declared in a rather formal tone.
She sighed, “Cardan,”.
And just like that, his formal behavior and verbiage were gone.
“Nope” he responded, dramatics back as he pointedly held his head high as he left the room.
Y/n massaged her temples with her thumbs before turning her attention to the mess of notes on the table.
“My dearest y/n/n,
I am terribly sorry for having annoyed you. Forgive me?
- Cardan G. 🖤 ”
“My Queen,
I know you need to learn of Elfhame’s history, but I need to give you kisses. Can’t we compromise?
- Your King”
“Y/n y/m/n y/l/n Greenbriar,
Okkkay so first, I loooove calling you that anyways, you cannot be mad at me for loving you. That is not fair. It’s also not fair to read all day and not be with me. I propose we find a way to make it fair
-Cardan Greenbriar, your husband”
“My dear radiant warrior,
I confess I don’t comprehend why you chose the book over me. I am far more interesting than it is. Am I not? I’m offended you don’t seem to think so.
Sulkingly,
-Yours”
“Y/n, miraculous love,
I forgot what I was going to write. Give me some time.
Oh, right. I’m disgusted that you dared wipe away my love. You could have yelled at me for bothering you. That I could handle.
I think.
But to throw away my kiss, that crosses a line. A line in my heart. And my heart. Oh you get the point.
I expect a formal apology to remedy this.
Expectantly Waiting,
-C.G. Your annoying husband”
“Oh Cardan” y/n sighed, giggling warmly at the letters that she would pin on their wall once the wine stains dried.
She rose from her seat, pushing it in quietly before doing the same with the one he’d occupied moments before.
Y/n blew out the candle, gathered the used and unused stationary, and drank the remainder of his glass of wine.
On her way to find him, she disposed of the unused stationary by placing it on his desk along with the now unlit candle.
She then set his sweet drunkenly written letters on the glass table in their bedroom to air dry.
One of their staff was passing by and kindly offered to take Cardan’s glass off her hands.
So now all that was left to do was to find her moping husband and try to console him; as dramatic as he was behaving or not.
She found him sprawled out on the lounge chair at the end of the hall.
“Cardan,” she whispered softly, “it was a joke”.
“My love is not a joke” he huffed, sitting up as his eyes landed on her.
Y/n sighed as she sat beside him.
Rubbing her thumb over his chiseled cheekbone, she clarified, “I never said it was Cardan. Me wiping away your kiss was the joke”.
He let his eyes wander hers for a moment before scoffing loudly, “it is disrespectful to your King, you know, to do that”
Y/n raised her eyebrow at him tauntingly, “and just how many girls are you going around kissing now your Highness?”
Cardan’s eyes widened as he shook his head vehemently, “I haven’t. None other then my heavenly wife”.
Y/n smiled widely as she felt her face warm, “that's much more like it”.
Cardan sat up straighter, grabbing her hand and playing with her wedding ring, “are you done pushing my love away?”.
She rolled her eyes but nodded, “yes, precious boy”.
Cardan’s cheeks flashed red as he grinned wickedly, “then let's go, my dear!”
Y/n felt him tug her hand as he stood up and began to stumble towards the front door.
“Where?” She giggled, following closely to keep him from falling over, “you’re half drunk!”
“Half sober you mean” he corrected with a smirk.
Y/n hummed moving to slide her arm around his torso to stabilize him more, “and where am I following your half sober bum to?”
“You'll see” he responded simply, a shimmer dancing in eyes.
——
After following him for a few minutes, y/n saw a picnic had been set up beside her favorite pond.
“Cardan?” She asked, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
“Yes darling?” Cardan questioned, tenderly removing her hand from his toro so he could guide her to the blanket that was resting on the viridescent grass.
She looked around, her eyes taking note of all the little details he attended to, “what is all of this for sweetheart?”
Cardan sat down on the powder blue blanket, tugging on y/N’s hand to encourage her to do the same.
Her eyes wandered still as she sat before him and smiled.
“I know I was being bothersome earlier, so this is to amend that” he explained, opening the wicker basket beside him.
“Awe” y/n cooed, squeezing his hand as she looked away due to her eyes watering profusely now.
“I set it up before you were so disrespectful of me and my love” he commented, closing the lid to the basket as he pulled out one plate.
“So now I'm banished from it?” She asked, facing him again.
If it weren’t for the joking tone he could hear in her voice, Cardan would’ve -and still nearly did- leap over the gap between them to hold her.
“Of course not” he scoffed teasingly, his fingertips delicately dabbing the corners of her eyes as tears threatened to fall.
He wouldn’t dare joke about it if he thought the tears were anything other than happy ones.
But he knew his wife well enough to tell, and the fact that she was struggling to not smile in order to keep up her pretend offense didn’t hurt either.
“You’ve earned it back, for now” he smirked as he moved his hand and began setting some crackers onto the plate between them.
Y/n gasped dramatically, “oh thank goodness. I’ll do whatever I need to do to stay in your good graces, your highness”.
Cardan rolled his eyes, “and l'm the dramatic one”
“Correct,” she grinned, reaching over and squeezing the pointed tip of his ear before tapping the golden crown resting on his gorgeous curls, “my drama king”.
His jaw dropped and he shook his head but couldn’t suppress his wide smile, “I will take it”.
“Why's that?” Y/n questioned before Cardan slipped a cracker with a slice of cheese on it into her mouth.
“I am choosing to focus on only the being yours part” he admitted smugly, taking a bite of his own cheese and cracker.
Y/n swallowed the remanded of the snack he gave her and bent her back as she leaned forward.
“You're always mine and I have no problem fighting anyone I have to in order to keep it that way” she promised, grinning as his cheeks flushed.
“That won’t be needed my love,” he promised, arching his lower back to match her posture, his lips hovering hers.
“I’m fairly certain everyone knows I'm absolutely besotted by you” Cardan swore before closing the gap between their lips and pulling her closer.

Frankie is—
—a bit drunk tonight.
But it’s his birthday.
And he’s always been a happy drunk.
There’s no falling on the floor. No getting up in other patrons’ faces. Just cheeks ruddy and round from freely-given mirth.
He’s harmless as a puppy and just as excitable.
Whooping with cheers whenever anyone sinks a pool ball into a pocket, whether they’re on his team or not.
_____
He had made the trip out to northern California for the occasion, wanting only to spend his day with his daughter.
But the boys catch wind of his plan and throw in for an Airbnb on the coast for the occasion.
And in the process of planning, Santi and Benny cook up a four-beer deep idea over an empty pizza box to arrange an extra gift.
Aud, what are your thoughts on Fort Bragg? Santi fires off on a text thread between the three of them.
I’m glad that they’re changing that name, guy was a cunt.
Sorry no, California. Benny clarifies. But also, agreed.
Is that not named after the same guy?
Santi sends the house’s address at the same time Benny sends, it is yeah.
Catfish wants to spend his birthday out there with his kid and we couldn’t let him celebrate alone. Pope attempts to steer.
Wondering if you might want to tag along? Last week of June.
Send me a venmo request for my part of the booking.
_____
Something warm blooms in Audrey’s chest at the sight of Frankie with his friends, quietly strategizing over forest green pool table felt.
He throws his arm around Benny’s neck and thumps Santiago on the back when they win this round, uncaring that he and Will have lost the last three.
“Can you please play this one, this score is embarrassing,” Will leans over on his bar stool with arms crossed against his chest, voice raised just enough so Audrey can hear him over Garth Brooks being played at a decibel below ungodly volume.
“Already told you, if I play, it’s over in one turn,” she takes a swig of beer, “that’s no fun for anyone.”
“Losing isn’t fun either though.”
She studies Will in the haze of neon-red tinged smoke. Audrey’s only known him for three hours, but she likes him already. Enough to grant him this favor.
“Fine.”
She slips off her bar stool and shimmies her jeans higher up on her hips before shrugging the leather jacket off of her shoulders.
“You playin’, Moose?” Santiago calls with a grin.
“One round,” she holds up a finger, “save these boys some shame,” she finishes as Will hands her a cue. The minute she lifts it off the ground she murmurs “not that one,” and Will swaps her out.
“There’s no way she’s that good,” Benny quips to Pope as he racks up the balls.
“I—do not have as much confidence as you on that,” Santiago carefully lifts the triangle and slots it back under the table. “You should probably know better, Benjamin.”
“You boys are fucked,” Frankie loops his arms around both of their shoulders as Audrey chalks her cue.
She places the cue ball towards one rail behind the second set of diamonds and glances behind her, gauging the space before leaning down to eye level, bouncing and spinning the cue in her hand to get a feel for its balance before she takes her first shot.
Audrey sinks two balls on the break.
She quickly assesses the table when they come to a stop. “Stripes, do I need to call the pocket?”
“No need to be a show-off,” Pope quips.
“Fair enough,” she slips around the far side of the table and sinks the 9-ball in a corner. It lines the cue ball up perfectly and she drops 14 in a center pocket.
One lap around the table and a glance at the boys to be sure she has clearance before Audrey knocks the cue ball just off its center point, gliding it across felt where it transfers its spin to 15, sending it swirling down the rail into a corner pocket. She slips around to the opposite side of the table, banking the cue ball off the opposite rail and into 13, which slips neatly into the center pocket nearest her.
“What went in on the break?” Benny calls.
“11 and 2,” Will answers where he’s calmly perched on a barstool against the wall.
She could miss now and he’d still be impressed.
She won’t.
The cue ball is dead center on the table and 10 is sitting a foot short of a corner. Audrey circles the table, chalking her cue as she analyzes angles. The best shot is from the end nearest the three boys but she’ll have to reach for it.
She stands in front of them and murmurs “sorry, boys,” before she hikes one knee up on the side rail and leans down, chest nearly grazing the table.
Frankie covers Benny and Santi’s eyes from where his arms are still braced on their shoulders.
His eyes, however, are locked on her ass.
They hear 10 drop in before brushing Frankie’s hands away.
Audrey bounces the cue ball off the edge of 12, popping it into the nearest pocket.
“Oh, that’s done, she’s got it,” Benny murmurs when the white ball comes to a stop directly in line with the corner pocket nearest Will, the 8 ball sitting perfectly in the middle of the shot.
Audrey sinks it and Frankie whoops, clapping both men on the back before rushing around the table to grab Audrey in a bear hug that lifts her up off her feet.
“FUCK yeah, baby!!!” He screams, taking her face in his hands and mashing his mouth against hers.
“Okay, down boy,” she quips with a smile.
“Well played, Moose,” Will holds out his hand for a shake.
“Alright, the rest is on y’all,” she hands the cue off to Will. “I gotta hit the restroom and then I’ll pick up another round.” She makes her way around the table, Benny and Santi congratulate her with claps on the back before she’s off down the hall.
“Hell of a woman you got there, Catfish,” Will chalks his cue.
Frankie answers with the quirk of a brow and a smirk that drips with filth.
One of the patrons recognizes Benny from fight night and it causes a stir. Turns out Will knows him from high school and everyone’s fascinated with what a small world it really is, attention distracted enough to allow Frankie to slip away.
_____
Audrey wrenches the door to the bathroom open and collides with Frankie’s chest.
“Jesus, Francisco.”
He backs her up with his body, kicking the bathroom door closed and latching it as his mouth crashes against hers, twisting his cap around backwards.
“You’re fuckin’ amazing, baby.” He smashes her against the wall with his broad form, craning low to kiss at what skin he can get to under her turtleneck before giving up and sucking on her earlobe.
“Yeah, well, I guess” she pants as Frankie drops to his knees and grabs at her hips, grinding the bulge in his jeans against her shin as he mouths at her stomach through the fabric of her shirt, “don’t play pool with a sniper.”
Frankie is fully hard as he ruts against her, pulling clumsily at the button and zipper of her jeans. He inhales against her mound and moans before quickly getting to his feet.
Harmless as a puppy and just as excitable.
He’ll sniff crotches and hump legs too, apparently.
Audrey grabs his face between her hands in an effort to center him, dipping her tongue into his mouth before Frankie pulls back.
“Fuuuck baby,” he reaches down to squeeze his cock through his jeans, “I’m not gonna make it, baby, I can’t–”
“Frankie–”
“Shhh, gatita, please,” he clamps a hand over her mouth as his forehead thumps hard against hers, “fuck,” he huffs, “I’m gonna. Pull those pretty panties down for me, beautiful. Just a little bit.”
Audrey is positively dying to see where this goes.
She slips her jeans and thong down her thighs, eyes locked on Frankie’s locked on black lace.
“Right there. That’s my pretty girl. Yeahh,” he shifts around to free himself from his jeans and she moans into his palm where he slides the hot, hard length of him against her center.
Frankie indulges for a moment, slipping his cock against the smooth wet of her lips.
“Shit,” he hisses before gripping himself in his fist, brown eyes searching green for permission.
And having it, he starts to pump his cock.
It takes him less than a minute before thick ropes of semen spurt into the gusset of her panties as he groans against the back of his hand where it’s still clamped over her mouth.
“Gatita?” He lets go on a ragged gasp once his hips have stilled and he’s worked himself through.
She puffs an acknowledging breath against his palm.
“I’m gonna make it up to you, I swear,” he lets his hand drop but keeps his forehead pressed against hers.
Frankie’s fingers move down to hook in the waistband of her lace thong before he slips it, warm and sticky and reeking of his spend back up into place.
“Keep that for me?” He slips his tongue in her mouth, fastening the button on her jeans and dragging the zipper closed. “I’m gonna come back for it.”
He presses a final, wet kiss to her lips, warm palm resting briefly on her cheek before he slips out of the door.
He leaves her frayed with want. Panting through burning lips as her head thumps back against the wall.
Sometimes she wonders if Frankie Morales is the filthiest motherfucker alive.
Two hours later when he cleans her cunt with his tongue—cap twisted round backwards on his head, wet panties stuffed into the pocket of his jeans—she realizes he probably is.
He probably is.
And he's hers.

When the little brother gets intimidated or hurt: Riddle, Leona, and Azul edition. Short stories(?)
@asillylitteseabunnyay had another wonderful idea and I got permission to write it!! I hope once again that I can do this justice. I tried to make all of the part equal but Azul's fell a tad short. Apologies. Also sorry for taking so long for not posting. I'm just trying to make sure that my writing is the highest quality it can be for people to read.
Warning: Yandere, death (Minor characters), injuries, infantilization (Maybe? Ashengrotto does get spanked), other things that I don't know how to tag.
Riddle Rosehearts
I felt a shiver crawl up my spine. That same Savanaclaw student is staring at me again. He's been staring at me ever since I started attending class with Riddle. It was only the second day of my punishment from exploring the forest.
He wants something from me but he hasn't said a word. It's honestly quite unnerving. I felt myself shake slightly. Riddle was too absorbed with the lesson to notice my discomfort. Not surprising because normally stuff like that doesn't get under my skin.
I slightly turned my head to look the Savanaclaw student in the eye. His eyes were just blank. Somehow that's worse to me than a glare full of emotions.
The bell rang which signaled that class was over. I started to help Riddle with his belongings and we quickly left the room to head back to the dorm.
"Come along, (Y/N). We have to start making preparations for the next unbirthday party."
"Yes, my Queen."
Next thing that I knew, someone stuck out their leg and tripped me. The books that I was holding went flying across the hallway. Thankfully, my reflex training kicked in and I caught myself before I completely fell onto the floor.
"(Y/N)!"
I turned my head to see who tripped me. It was the same Savanaclaw student from earlier. His eyes were still as dull as they were in class.
"Heh, so the rumors are true. A dumb little boy with strength. You'll be a perfect punching bag."
I turned my head towards Riddle to see him frozen with shock. It seems that this guy's words shocked Riddle to his core. The next thing that I knew was that my neck was grabbed and lifted far above the ground. My windpipe was being slightly crushed by his hand.
"Since your body is stronger, that means you can take more punches."
I started flailing my legs around, hoping for one of three things to happen. Either my leg would hit him and get him to release my throat, or I would stall long enough for either Riddle or a faculty to get this man to stop. Sadly, none of my preferred situations came true.
The guy punched me right in the middle of my chest, knocking the air out of my lungs and I think that I even heard one of my ribs crack a tiny bit. I opened my mouth to let out a scream but because of how tight his hand was around my throat, it couldn't escape.
"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!"
Thank you, Riddle!
I started trying to regain air in my lungs with the fact that my windpipe has been allowed to reopen. I lifted my head to watch what was happening. With the Savanaclaw student now dazed, Riddle was just launching spell after spell at him. It was getting really messy. Riddle was only stopped after other Heartslabyul students restrained him.
I let out an audible gasp. I was finally able to regain the air in my lungs. I stood up and went over to Riddle and just gave him a hug. This was one of the few things that I knew that I could do to calm him down.
"Calm down, Riddle! I'm not too harmed!"
Riddle calmed down but I could tell that he was still glaring at the guy who punched me.
"WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?!"
Professor Crewel came stomping down the hallway towards the injured student and both of us. He didn't seem very pleased with us.
"I mildly expected this type of behavior from Savanaclaw students but from you, Mr. Rosehearts? Not even in my worst nightmares."
"My deepest apologies, Professor Crewel. But you know that I wouldn't act out in such a way unless a rule was broken."
"And which rule was broken?"
"NRC has a rule that says that there will be no fights on campus. That student attacked my brother unprovoked and broke one of his ribs. The only way that I knew to dissuade him from causing more harm to my brother was to make him unable to."
"Hmmmm. I can understand the reasoning. Although I will still be having a talk with you later, Mr. Rosehearts. For now, take your brother to the infirmary to get him checked up on. I'll handle this trouble maker for now."
"Thank you, Professor Crewel. Come along, (Y/N)."
"Yes, my Queen."
I wrapped my hand around my broken rib and started walking with Riddle towards the nurse's office. I felt the anger flowing off of Riddle. I don't think that that Savanaclaw student is free from Riddle's rage just yet.
"Hey, Riddle?"
"Hmm?"
"You don't need to be angry anymore. You did quite the number on him and I'm pretty certain that Professor Crewel isn't going to let him off of the hook that easily."
"..."
Silence was not what I was hoping to hear. Silence meant that Riddle was thinking deeply and with what just happened, I really didn't want him thinking that deep.
We eventually made it to the nurse's office. The nurse gave me an ice pack and told me to stay on the bed for a while. I looked over at Riddle for permission. He gave me a nod before speaking.
"(Y/N). Your punishment is over. Now, since you're injured, you are relieved of your usual duties."
I opened my mouth to get Riddle to stay but he walked out in a rush before I could say anything. A bad feeling sunk into my stomach. The events of today caught up to my body and I fell asleep.
I don't know how long I was out for but when I reopened my eyes, I saw Deuce asleep with his head on the side of my bed.
"Deuce? What are you doing here?"
My voice sounded so rough for the fact that I had just woken up from what seemed to be about a six hour nap.
"Huh?! Oh! (Y/N)! You're up! I was tasked by Dorm Leader Riddle to keep watch over you while you slept. He also told me to bring you back to Heartslabyul when you woke up."
"Hmmmmmm. Did he tell you why he couldn't be here himself?"
Deuce stayed silent for a minute, looking up at the ceiling. It seemed that he was trying to remember if Riddle gave him a reason or if he was just happy to be able to watch over me.
"I'm not certain anymore. I sort of walked as fast as I could away from Riddle after he gave me my task."
Deuce then gave me a sheepish smile. I return a knowing smile. I don't make fun of Deuce for trying to be an honor student which gets me brownie points with him.
"Oh! We need to be on our way! I nearly forgot to take you back to Heartslabyul."
"Right. Let's see if my body is willing to let me move."
I swung my legs to the side of the bed and stood up. I felt a sharp pain in the left rib cage area but after the initial movement, I could move easier. I still had Deuce assist me with walking in case the pain decided to spike up once again.
A lovely conversation broke out between the two of us. Hearing the antics of Yuu, Deuce, Ace and Grim plus others is always enjoyable to hear. Sometimes I wish that I would be able to join them on one of their crazy events but Riddle would never allow me to.
We made it back to Heartslabyul where there seemed to be mild chaos stirring about. I don't think that I've ever seen Heartslabyul so disorganized since Riddle's overblot incident.
"Excuse us but what's happening?"
"Riddle and Leona are having a fight in the Rose Maze!"
"WHAT?!"
Deuce and I picked up the pace to the middle of the Rose Maze to see Riddle basically pick Leona up with his magic and send him flying into a thorny rose bush. The thorns were clearly sharper than the normal ones for the fact that he was bleeding quite a bit.
"GRRRR! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!"
"Are you going to discipline your dorm members finally?"
"NO!"
"Then we're not done yet."
Despite Leona already being badly injured and with thorns now stuck in his body, Riddle showed no mercy and shot multiple spells at him. He even got Cater to use Split Card to send more spells Leona's way. They're going to kill him!
"Leona-Senpai!"
Deuce was obviously freaked out as well. It's not everyday that you see people nearly destroy someone for no reason. Whipping out my own magical pen, I quickly casted a spell around Leona's foot to swing him out of the way. Of course, it worked but I didn't really think about where I was swinging him. Leona was launched straight into Deuce and myself, creating a sort of dog pile.
"AHH!"
"UGH!"
"OOF!"
I need to start thinking past stage one of my plans. Leona put a lot of pressure on my recently broken rib which got me crying out in pain.
"Well, maybe if you weren't trying to play hero, you wouldn't be in more pain now."
"Oh please, if (Y/N) didn't just launch you halfway across the world, Riddle and Cater's spells would completely fried you alive."
"(Y/N)!"
Riddle's voice broke us out of our fantasy world and triggered what seemed to be a flight response in Leona. He booked it out of there before any more spells got fired. Riddle rushed over to where Deuce and I were laying on the ground and let out a huff in anger.
"Great, he got away. He needs to be more firm with his dorm members or else, we get stuck with more scenarios like today."
"It's not Leona's fault that one of his dorm members punched me and broke my rib."
"It wouldn't have happened if Leona just actually stepped up as a dorm leader and had his members under control."
Riddle's tone was icy cold. I could tell that changing his mind once again was going to be difficult.
"How about we forget Leona for now and help me inside? I think that the Leona impact accidently reversed all of the healing that my rib got."
Riddle looked down at me and his eyes softened a bit. He kneeled down and helped me to my feet. He steadied me and we trekked back to our shared room.
I laid down on the bed, ready to go to sleep. I was expecting Riddle to join me but instead, he went to the door before telling me that he'll be back in a short while. I nodded my head. I was originally planning to stay up until Riddle came back but my body decided that it had taken enough abuse and that it wanted to sleep the pain off.
*Riddle's POV*
As much as I wanted to join my brother in sleep, I still had a job to finish. Since Leona won't take it upon himself to discipline his dorm members, I'll do it myself.
"Cater."
"Huh? Oh, hey Riddle."
Cater seemed nervous when talking with me. Might be because of what I made him do earlier. Well, I need a similar favor now.
"You're more connected with other dorm students. What can you tell me about..."
Cater and I had a long, extensive talk about this Savanaclaw student. Cater was able to find him on the internet and get even deeper with some older accounts that he had. I was grateful for the new information on this guy. Makes what I'm about to do more justified.
"Thank you, Cater. You've been of great help to me."
"Not a problem, Dorm Leader Riddle! Umm, just to make sure, you're not going to do anything brash, right?"
Cater let out a small nervous laugh and I only turned my head to look at him from the corner of my eye. He stopped quietly laughing when he saw the look in my eye. That man hurt my younger brother, tomorrow, there will be a price to pay for what he has done.
I quickly made it back to my room and fell asleep next to (Y/N). I'm glad that he was able to sleep with his injury. I'll make sure that the members from the other dorm will treat him with the respect that he deserves.
*(Y/N)'s POV*
Today is so much worse. So, so much worse. Riddle somehow got the Malleus Draconia to attack the Savanaclaw student that hurt me yesterday. My brain is still trying to make sense of the fact that Malleus came and turned the student into stone.
"Thank you, Malleus. I appreciate the fact that you were willing to help me. I will see to it myself that you get an invitation to the next unbirthday party."
"Not a problem, Riddle. When Silver told me that you requested my help with something, I wasn't expecting this. But it would be my greatest pleasure to be invited to an unbirthday party at Heartslabyul."
Malleus then left the two of us alone with the student turned stone. My brain feels more and more fried. Riddle then came over to me and put a hand on my shoulder, snapping me back to reality.
"Riddle. Why would you do something like this?"
"Because. You're my little brother. Since you're my protector, I'll be yours as well."
Leona Kingscholar
Brother A:
"Holy crap, hurry up, Epel!"
"Sorry, (Y/N)! Ah should hav warned yawl thet yawl wuz walkin' straight into Rook's shootin' range."
Epel was trying to wrap the bandages tight enough to create a blood clot. Stupid Rook and his stupid shooting. I got an arrow straight in the leg because of him! I was this close to ripping off the Hunter's head! Thankfully, Epel calmed me down and is now healing my injuries.
"Is yawl okay, (Y/N)? Chur breathin' gist got heavier."
"Yeah, I'm just... trying to figure out what to tell Leona. He banned me from A: going to other dorms and B: Seeing you guys. He can be such a stick in the mud sometimes."
"Naw way! Leona don't hav thet type uh control ovur yawl! Yore not actually gunna gist leave us behind, raht?"
"Of course not! Leona may be my older brother but that doesn't mean that I'm going to listen to him. He doesn't listen to rules anyway. Why should I listen to his?"
"Thet's uh relief. Thayure yawl go! All patched up!"
"Perfect! Now, is it okay if I hung out in Pomefiore for today? Just to lay low. Leona won't step in here willingly and I was lucky enough to have lost Ruggie on my way here."
"Uh course, yawl can stay hare! Way gist hav tuh make shore thet Vil don't say yawl. Plus Ah can finally teach yawl how tuh apple carve!"
"Lead the way, my southern friend!"
I followed Epel to a T just to avoid Vil's line of sight. I don't want to know what will happen if Vil sees me. Sadly, it did seem that my luck wasn't running high today.
"EPEL!"
"Dagnabbit it."
"What exactly is (Y/N) doing here? And more importantly looking like that?!"
My clothes are not the problem here! They be comfy and I wear them anyway!
"Well, I thought that..."
"You thought what? Speak up, Epel! How many times have I told you to not mutter!"
"I just thought that it would be okay if (Y/N) stayed here for a short while!"
Epel and Vil appeared to be in a stare off. Neither really willing to let this slide from the other. Amazingly, the saving grace here was Rook.
"Roi du Poison! Please forgive my interruption but Monsieur Brute's stay is partly my own fault! One of my arrows accidently found its mark in his leg, injuring him and ruining his beauty! Please allow him to stay here until his beauty returns back to its full glory!"
Did he just say that I have beauty? I guess that's actually not surprising from Rook. I remember when I was just talking with Jack and Rook appeared out of nowhere, fawning over Jack's dedication to his work out. Jack was creeped out while I found it funny and started joining Rook in the fawning. I think I made an accidental friend that day.
"Hmmmm, considering the fact that (Y/N) was injured on Pomefiore grounds, I believe that it's fair for him to stay. But! He must act and look like a member of Pomefiore until he can go back."
"What."
"For starters, your wardrobe. Second, your makeup and finally, your manners! Rook, please go take (Y/N) to the sewing room to get him fully fitted!"
"Of course, Roi du Poison!"
"W-wait a minute. Hold it!"
My words did nothing to stop Rook from pulling me into a random room. Next thing that I knew, I was put into an official Pomefiore uniform and was getting my hair and make up done by random Pomefiore students.
"Ouch! Either you start pulling less on my hair or I'll start pulling on your limbs!"
"Sorry! I've just never had to deal with such tangles before."
My threat got through because the student stopped tugging on my hair whenever he came across a tangle. Although during the make over, a certain smell reached my nose. The smell of blood. More importantly, my blood.
I looked down at my bandaged leg to see the entire lower leg of my outfit was drenched in blood. I needed to go see the nurse badly.
"Oh my goodness, what is that smell?!"
And now the other students have noticed it as well.
"Calm down, that's just my leg. I need to go to the nurse's office."
"Do you want some help getting there?"
"Nah, I'll be just fine getting there. Thanks for the offer though."
I started trudging my way out of Pomefiore. The last thing that I really needed was to make more of a mess for the students to clean up. I'm used to bleeding out and making my way to health and safety. This will be no different.
"Monsieur Brute!"
Okay, maybe a tad different.
"What do you want, Rook?"
"I overheard what was happening. Please allow me to assist you!"
"You really don't need to."
"Non-non, Monsieur! It's my fault that you ended up like this in the first place!"
"What?"
My ears twitched at the new voice. Ruggie. I quickly turned my head towards Ruggie to see him just standing there with a weird look on his face.
"Leona's not going to like this."
"Ruggie, don't-!"
Before I could even get my sentence out, Ruggie ran off to Leona. Crap.
"Rook. Run and hide."
"Pardon?"
"Just trust me on this."
Rook, thankfully, didn't take my advice lightly before running back into Pomefiore. I quickly turned in the direction that Ruggie went before running as fast as I can to try and catch him. My injury is very limiting right now for trying to catch people.
"(Y/N)? What ARE you doing?"
Oh boy.
"Hiya, Jack."
"Is there a reason as to why you're bleeding from your leg?"
"I got shot."
"And that's all that I needed to hear."
"Wh-what are you doing?!"
Jack picked me up and put me on his shoulders. He took off to Savanaclaw.
"Where are you taking me?!"
"Where do you think? To Savanaclaw so that you can relax while healing!"
I let out a groan before laying my head on top of Jack's. My leg started to ache so bad that I felt tears starting to form in my eyes. I felt my hand clench around Jack's arm with my nails digging into his flesh.
"Uuuuggghhhh. This is painful."
"Not used to pain?"
"Normally, I can dodge fast enough or I have adrenaline coursing through my veins that prevents the pain from coming through. This is the first time that I've actually let a wound of mine sit long enough for it to ache. I'm not used to it."
"Hmmmm."
We finally reached Savanaclaw only to run into Leona standing right in front of the mirror, looking quite cross.
"Crap."
"Drop my brother."
"He's injured."
"I said drop him."
Jack cast an apologetic look before just dropping me on my butt. It upset my leg quite a lot.
"Rgh!"
"You deserved that for not listening to me. Didn't I tell you not to go around to other dorms anymore?"
"Well, in all honesty, you're a jerk. Second of all: you don't listen to authority yourself. What gives you any right to dictate over what I do with my life?"
"Because I'm your dorm leader and your older brother. That gives me twice the power that I have over you."
"Yet, how many times have I defeated you and Falena in a fight?"
"You wouldn't win in a fight in your condition now."
"Want to test that?"
Leona and I were having a stare down, neither of us really willing to back down from what we said.
"Found him!"
I turned my head to see Ruggie, running with two other Savanaclaw students who seemed to be dragging a certain blonde hunter by his arms behind him.
"Oh no..."
"Well done."
"This took too long! He put up a really good fight but he wasn't able to fight off all three of us!"
Rook did look worse for wear. His clothes were all ripped up and there were plenty of scratches littering his body. Ruggie and the two Savanaclaw students weren't in great shape either. They all seemed to have small scrapes, most likely from Rook's arrows, and just overall, really dirty. Pomefiore's forest wasn't as clean as Vil tried to make it appear.
"You've got a lot of nerve, hunting my own brother, Hunter."
"S'il vous plaît! Roi des Lions, I would never try to hurt (Y/N)'s raw beauty on purpose! It would bring shame to the message that I try to spread!"
"Stop your gibberish. It's giving me a headache."
I started to stand up before Leona just kicked my bad leg to keep me down.
"If you know what's good for you, you would stay curled up there."
Leona then grabbed his staff before walking over to Rook.
"Leona! Seriously, this wasn't his fault!"
"Don't care."
Leona stabbed his staff deep into Rook's leg. The same leg that I got shot in.
Rook's screams pierced the air, causing my ear to flick down to try and prevent the awful noise from coming into my head. Sadly, it didn't work. It seemed that one stab wasn't enough for Leona to get his frustration out. He stabbed the same leg multiple times in different spots.
I quickly stood up before tackling one of the Savanaclaw students, who happened to be standing in line with Leona. He slammed into Leona, catching him off balance and sent him tumbling. I was quick to get the staff out of Rook's leg before pulling out my pen to heal him.
Rook, somehow staying conscious of all of this, pulled out his own pen and started firing spells to prevent any of them getting close to us.
"I apologize deeply for this, Rook."
"Non. Once again, this isn't your fault, Monsieur Brute. I can only hope that Vil has gotten the message that I sent him."
"What message?"
My question got answered real fast when I saw more spells being sent from elsewhere. Vil stepped through the mirror and quickly made his way to Rook.
"Are you alright, Rook?"
"Roi du Poison! I could be doing better but I'll be just fine, now that you've graced me with your beauty one last time!"
"Stop being a drama queen. You're going to live. Thank you, (Y/N) for defending Rook until we were able to arrive. You'll always be welcomed to Pomefiore for a retreat if you need one."
"How about a transfer? I might need one soon."
Vil only gave me a slight smile before rushing Rook off. I felt a smile creep onto my own face as well. It's really weird to make friends. My joy didn't last though for the fact that I was quickly tackled to the ground by a Savanaclaw student. I tried to get out from underneath him but he put all of his weight onto my injury.
"Stop it, you idiot! Are you trying to make me lose my leg completely?!"
"Take him to his dorm room. It's quite obvious that he hasn't learned his lesson yet."
I was picked up and rushed off to my dorm room. After I got dropped to the floor, the door slammed and locked within a matter of seconds.
"Yeah, yeah. LOVE YOU TOO GUYS!"
I struggled to stand up and sit down on my bunk. They're really trying to break me, aren't they? Well, that doesn't mean I'll let them. Come at me with your worst, Leona. I'll always come out on top.
Brother B:
That guy keeps staring at me. I don't understand what's so interesting about me? I'm just waiting tables! Maybe I could get Jade to talk to him for me? No (Y/N)! Just as Leona has always told you! Be more assertive! You can take care of him!
I took a deep breath before scanning my surroundings once again. The Mostro Lounge always looked really pretty during the evenings, which is a major reason as to why I prefer these shifts over morning or afternoon ones. Finally, I looked over to the table with the Diasomnia student and we made eye contact. I flinched at the visible perk that the guy did when I finally gave him attention. I swear if that guy was staring at me because Floyd didn't take his order again.
I took long strides over to the Diasomnia student before stopping by his table. I gave him a closed eye smile before speaking.
"Good evening, sir! Do you happen to need something from me?"
"I would appreciate it if I could have your number."
My eyes popped open at his request. It freaked me out to say the least. I've never gotten that type of attention before. I mean, I have but those were princes who were requesting for my hand in marriage, thinking that I was a girl. I gave it a few seconds to mull in my brain before shaking my head no.
"Sorry, sir. But I'm not comfortable enough to give just anybody my number."
"Well, then, what if we did something to no longer be just anybody to each other?"
"Well, I appreciate the offer, sir but I'd rather not though."
"Come on, please."
"No, sir."
I turned on my heel to walk away but he grabbed my wrist in a bruising grip.
"Ow! Ow! Let go, sir!"
"No. I'm not going to just take no from a spoiled little prince. You're not going to have anybody who will be willing to give you the time of day ever yet you have the guts to reject me!"
"Sir, please let go! I don't want to have to call in Floyd to remove you from the establishment!"
"What? You're not strong enough to get me out yourself? What a weakling! How did you even get into NRC?"
I felt my resolve melting away. I'm always willing to give people more and more time to redeem themselves before I take matters into my own hands. But this time, I had a feeling that I needed to get my point across.
"Eh~~~~ What's goi-"
"I'm the captor of hearts, I'm the collector of heads. My words are absolute. OBEY ME!"
The man let me go and I felt my anger flare up.
"HOW DARE YOU EVEN THINK OF PUTTING YOUR HANDS ON SOMEONE YOU IS ONLY TRYING TO ASSIST YOU?! LEAVE THE LOUNGE AND DON'T EVEN THINK OF COMING BACK!"
I quickly dispelled my magic to avoid consequence towards my body. The Diasomnia student's body, obviously affected by my magic, left the Mostro Lounge. I quickly got my pulse back to a normal pace when I realized that the entire lounge was dead silent. I quickly spun my head around to realize that people were staring at me in shock, including Floyd, Jade and Azul.
I felt myself becoming more bashful before running over to Azul.
"Azul?"
I was whispering to avoid creating more of a scene.
"Is there any chance that I could go to Savanaclaw to visit my brother right now?"
Azul, still stunned speechless apparently, only nodded his head. I took that and ran. I quickly changed out of my uniform and back into my flowy clothes before making my way over to Savanaclaw. That was so embarrassing.
I made my way to the main Savanaclaw area where I saw a bunch of the dorm members just chilling or playing around. I ran over to one of them.
"Excuse me?"
"Huh?! Oh, it's just you, Prince (Y/N). If you're wondering where Leona is, he's actually at the stadium right now. Something about how we all were making too much noise."
"Thank you!"
I turned away from the Savanaclaw student when I heard a gasp from him. I turned back around and caught him staring at my wrist. I looked at it as well when I noticed a dark purple bruise circling my entire wrist. I knew that his grip was much too tight.
"Oh, I knew that was going to bruise."
"WHAT HAPPENED?!"
"Oh, nothing important. Just a rough customer. Don't you worry about it. Thank you for showing concern though!"
"NO, WA-!"
I ran off without hearing the rest of what he had to say. I only had limited time before I was expected back at Octavinelle and I still wanted to see Leona!
I saw my brother and rushed towards him. He was just watching the moon which was weird but I knew Leona felt a connection with the moon in some way.
"Leona!"
I hugged him from behind which actually got a chuckle out of him.
"Heya, (Y/N). What brought you here at this time?"
"I... had a really rough time at the lounge. There was this guy who was being a creep to me and I... completely overreacted."
Leona was quiet for sometime before reacting to my last sentence.
"What exactly happened?"
"Well, the guy who was from Diasomnia decided to be a real creep to me. He grabbed my wrist, see! Here's a bruise that he gave me! I lost my patience for a quick second because he was staring at me earlier. It really freaked me out so I used Obey Me on him and basically banned him from the Mostro Lounge."
Leona stared angrily at the bruise on my wrist before standing up. He grabbed me and started to carry me on his back.
"Leona?! What are you doing?!"
"We're going to have a little talk with Azul."
Leona rushed over to the Mostro Lounge before kicking the doors open, gaining the entire lounge's attention.
"Uh, welcome to the Mostro Lou-"
Leona grabbed Azul by his collar before dragging him into the V.I.P. room. He threw Azul over his desk before carefully placing me on one of the comfortable chairs.
"Listen up, cephalopunk! Is your little trashy business not a safe enough place for my little brother?"
"W-w-w-wait a minute! I try to make sure that the Mostro Lounge is safe for all of my employees!"
"Then how do you explain the fact that (Y/N) has a bruise on his wrist from one of your customers?!"
"We were taking care of it!"
"Obviously you weren't taking care of it as efficiently as you thought! Someone is going to pay for this. You have a decision here, cephalopunk."
"Oh really?"
"Either you tell me the name of the student who hurt my little brother or I'll drag the entirety of Savanaclaw to the Mostro Lounge to ruin it every night."
For the second time in the same night, Azul was stunned speechless by a Kingscholar. Azul quickly tried to regain his confidence and gave a smirk to Leona.
"There's no way that you would do that."
Leona only returned Azul's smirk with his own before walking out of the V.I.P. room. Oh boy, did Azul look like he was going to ink himself more than ever?
"Azul, you might want to reconsider Leona's offer."
Azul looked at me before plastering a smile back on his face. It was threatening to fall off at any minute.
"I'm not threatened by Leona's threat at all. I'm certain that he won't do anything. It takes effort to actually do what he's threatening. Also to make up for the fact that you did get injured on the job, I'm giving you the next three days off from work."
"You're going to need extra muscle to stop the entirety of Savanaclaw from entering the Mostro Lounge."
"Once again, (Y/N), you have too much faith in your brother."
Azul should have listened to me. I walked out of my dorm to go get some food from the kitchen to see the Mostro Lounge completely trashed with Savanaclaw students just making a mess of the lounge. I saw Leona laying on top of one of the tables, his eyes closed giving off the impression that he was sleeping. I also took note of the fact that Jade and Floyd, along with the rest of the employees, were tied up with a bunch of table cloths.
I let out a sigh before walking over to Leona. The rest of the Savanaclaw students gave me a lot of space to walk. They did not want to invoke Leona's wrath by hurting me either.
"Leona."
Leona didn't move but I knew that he heard me so I just continued on.
"Don't you think that you've done enough damage yet?"
I heard a door break before a lot of hollers followed shortly after. I saw Azul get dragged out of the V.I.P. room and throw over to where Jade and Floyd were to just get tied up as well.
"Now, I say that we've done enough damage. ALRIGHT BOYS! PACK IT UP AND LET'S GO HOME!"
All of the Savanaclaw students just started shouting more and rushing out of the Mostro Lounge, destroying more things in their wake. Leona only gave off a triumph smirk and air while he sauntered out of the lounge. A faint smile appeared on my face, it's been a while since I've seen Leona proud of something that he has done.
I quickly rushed over to where the tied up members of Octavinelle were and got to work untying them. The knots were quite tight so it took me longer than I truly wished for it to take.
The first person that I got undone was Jade. He was quick to stand up and help with untying the others.
"This was completely uncalled for."
"Well, it depends on how you look at it. Leona did give Azul the choice of either telling him a name or face this."
"(Y/N). I understand how important it is to love a brother, faults and all."
"Heeeyyyy!"
"But you shouldn't defend actions like those of anybody."
"Guess you can say that I'm programmed to defend Leona at every aspect of his life."
After about twenty minutes of untying, we got everyone untied and started cleaning up.
"Oh, we're going to be at such a deficit because of these damages."
"Well, if you don't want to have to spend all of that money again tomorrow, you should give Leona what he asked for. I have a good feeling that Leona will hold through with his threat still. Doesn't matter if you have nothing, he'll figure out what to take after that."
Azul appeared to be thinking over what I said before walking to his office. He came back out with his cane and snapped his fingers.
"Jade. Floyd. Come with me. We have business with Mr. Leona Kingscholar."
"Woo! No more cleaning!"
Floyd threw his broom which caused it to knock into the already broken plates and broke them even more.
"FLOYD!!"
"Hehehehe~ Whoops~"
I watched as the trio left. Maybe tomorrow will be an easier day. The bruise on my wrist started to fade a bit today which made it a tiny bit easier to clean and use it.
Today was not easier. Easier on the body yes but not for the sight in the main courtyard. The man who harassed me was strung up above one of the entrances to the main building. He appeared to be alive but he kept on coughing up sand. It seems as if Leona has gotten his way in the end.
Azul Ashengrotto
"Please, Azul! We don't even have to leave the Mostro Lounge, just anywhere out of this room!"
I was desperate to be let out of Azul's room. It had nearly been the two week long break that Azul wanted but I knew that I couldn't stand any longer. He kept coddling me, acting as if I was the three year old that he originally met.
"Now why exactly would I do that? We're having such a lovely time with just the two of us! You should be grateful that we get to bond at all. I feel bad for all of the little brothers who can't bond with their older ones."
I felt myself tense up with anger. Azul could be such a hypocrite when he wanted to be. That situation was literally us seven years ago! How could he have forgotten the pain that he inflicted on me so easily?!
"Yes, I apologize, Azul. I should have been more grateful."
I can't fight him at every turn anymore. I just don't have the willpower to do so.
"I'm glad that you finally recognized that you were acting like a toddler. Now, come here. I think that you need some cuddles to calm down."
Azul had a victorious grin on his face while spreading his arms wide open for me to set myself in. Another cage that he loved to put me in. I started to fidget with my fingers before walking over to him. I heaved myself onto the bed that he was sitting on before climbing into his lap. Azul gained a softer smile on his face before wrapping his arms around me and pulling me lightly into his body.
I felt his face burrow slightly into hair. He was letting out little giggles. He always did that when he was very happy. For example, he's been giggling for the entirety of these past two weeks.
There was a knock at the door, which made Azul stop giggling and let out a slight growl. Ha, that's what you get for imprisoning me. He lifted me out of his lap before setting me down on the bed. He nearly ripped the door off the hinges. I felt scared for the door.
"What exactly is so IMPORTANT that you have to interrupt the time that I've dedicated to my brother?"
If the person isn't a tweel, they are going to be in so much trouble tomorrow.
"Sorry, Azul. But we're having a bit of an issue. It seems that Yuu and their little posse are starting a fight in the common area."
It's Jade. I don't think that Azul could ever be mad at him. Even if he somehow killed me, I think that Azul and Jade would be on good terms.
Azul was looking worried at this fact and started looking between Jade and I.
"Alright, I'll be there in a few seconds."
Azul turned around, grabbed his cane and picked me up with one arm.
"I don't want you to feel cheated of time with me so, I think that this small excursion won't be such a bad idea. Although as soon as I get this fight sorted out, you and I are going right back into this room for a good cuddle session, okay?"
I only nodded my head, excited to see other people than Azul. It feels like it has been years since I've seen the Mostro Lounge. The lights in there felt like the stars that I would gaze at during my late night trips to the surface. If I was lucky enough to still have energy after finishing my homework that is.
"WHO IS YAWL CALLIN' UH GIRL?! AHL SHOW YAWL!"
I turned my head to a very feminine boy who appeared to be trying to fight a Heartslabyul student. He was being held back by a giant wolf guy and a mint green haired fae.
"Epel, drop it!"
"EPEL! STOP THIS UNRULY BEHAVIOR AT ONCE!"
"MAKE MAY!"
"Excuse me!"
Azul set me on the ground before running over to the fight and started to yell at both parties. I just watched in amusement at all of the fighting. It sort of reminded me of my best friends back at... middle school.
I miss those guys. (B/F/N) and (F/N) were some of the best people that I got to spend time with. They weren't jealous over what I had or what I could do. They just loved to spend time with me. I wonder what they're doing now though.
While I was deep in thought, I didn't notice the leaf shot that was coming my direction until it hit me straight in the face.
"OUCH!"
My eyes were in so much pain! The leaves that were swirling around got a clear hit at my eyes. I think that a blade did actually hit my retinas.
"(Y/N)!"
I heard Azul rush over to me and started to push my hands away to get a good look at my eyes. He forced my eyes open to quickly assess the damage. It seems as if the fighting had stopped since I was injured.
After about two minutes, Azul left out a sigh. Based on his facial expressions, it was most likely a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness, no actual damage has been done to your eyes. But..."
Azul then stood up, having a death grip on his cane, and shot a spell towards the group suspending them all in the air.
"THE MOSTRO LOUNGE IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOUR PETTY ARGUMENTS! THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR RECKLESSNESS, MY LITTLE BROTHER HAS BEEN INJURED! YOU ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED INTO THE MOSTRO LOUNGE! NOW, GET OUT!"
At the end of his little speech, Azul used the same magic to send the group of six first years and the offending Heartslabyul student and his group flying out of the Mostro Lounge's doors. Quickly regaining his composure, Azul looked over the rest of the guests who fell silent at the fight that was happening in the lounge. He quickly cleared his throat before talking.
"Apologies, loyal customers! Hopefully, we won't have another outburst again today but please do remember! The Mostro Lounge is a safe café for students to relax, not a risky bar for people to have fights in!"
Everyone seemed to go back to their own business after Azul had said that. Azul then quickly turned back to me and picked me back up once again.
"Let's get you back to the room so that I can patch you up, (Y/N)."
We ran back to the room and he took me into the small bathroom. He set me down on the sink counter before pulling out his magic pen.
"Oh, I should have known that taking my fragile little brother out into what could have been a war zone was a bad idea. You've gotten little cuts, haven't you?"
"I'm not completely defenseless anymore Azul."
My tongue moved before I could think.
"What was that?"
Azul's soft tone is gone now, I have no chance of that getting back soon. His gaze turned into a cold glare. I was in for it this time.
"Nothing, Azul! I said nothing!"
"Oh no! I'm nipping this in the bud before it gets out of hand."
Azul lifted me up before taking me back to the bedroom. He laid me, stomach down, over his legs before swatting my behind.
"If I seriously need to whack this into you, I will, (Y/N)! You are my baby brother! You will stop with the back talk and this rebellious behavior!"
I let out a cry of pain. This really hurts!
"Sorry! Sorry! I promise I won't do it again! Just stop please!"
"Hmmmmm, since you've already gotten hurt already, I think I can ease up on this punishment."
That's a relief. I hate punishments like these. They're so embarrassing and painful for me. Azul resituated me so that we were both lying down and that I was trapped in a perma-hug next to Azul's heart beat.
"I think it's a good time for you to take a nap. Doesn't that sound just refreshing, (Y/N)?"
"Uh huh."
I nodded my head as well. I felt a kiss be pressed to the top of my head before Azul's heart beat actually started to lull me to sleep. A perfect tempo to calm my racing thoughts.
*Azul's POV*
(Y/N)'s breathing has finally steadied out, which means that I could grab my phone for a quick text. I opened up the group chat between me, Jade and Floyd. I sent a quick text explaining exactly what I wanted to happen. It was one of those dim Heartslabyul students who sent the leaf shot (Y/N)'s way. I made it clear that I want him to be punctured like a pin cushion and a rose put into each of the holes. That was Jade's task. I told Floyd to give the Yuu first year group a good scare with a few scars to let them know what happens if you mess in the Mostro Lounge.
After I sent out my texts, I switched my phone to silent and set it down face first on my nightstand. I looked down to see (Y/N) just snoozing away. He was so adorable! How on earth could I not recognize his cuteness before?
"I was such a fool when I was younger. I'm going to make it up to you now."
That was a promise that I was going to keep to him.

You’re being chased.
You don’t recognize the wooded area you’re in. Tall trees that have endured many seasons. A thick carpet of pine needles and decaying leaves at your feet that helps to muffle your passage. You can’t hear any sounds of pursuit. Perhaps you’ve evaded the hunter. Your lungs burn. You lean against one of the surrounding trees. The bark is rough at your back. A shadow in your peripheral vision.
How foolish to think you could elude this undying creature. An eternal being that defies time. Yielding to none, the only enemy the light of day. The dawn is not present now. Sister night stands guard. You offer your throat to him. His lips press along your pulse, his hand resting on your upper arm. Squeezing. More pressure. The images grow hazy. You’re being pulled away.
You wake up.
You’re lying beside the vampire in his bed, his back resting against the headboard, ankles crossed. The book he’d been reading to you from rests on top of his thighs, face down, the spine creased many times over.
“I feel asleep. I’m so sorry!” You flush and struggle to sit up.
“There’s no need to apologize. You certainly have earned the right to feel fatigued, considering…” Steve leans over to set the book on the nightstand. “I’m sorry that I had to wake you. But I need to return you so you can get some proper rest.”
You glance at the clock nearby. The night is more than halfway over. Soon it’ll be time for him to sleep, too. Maybe that’s not something he likes people seeing. You wonder if he looks…well, dead, when he’s slumbering. Corpselike. You push the unpleasant image from your thoughts.
Your instructor invites you to use the bathroom before you depart.
Your eyes lift from the sink you’ve just washed your hands at to check your appearance and that’s when you realize it: the vampire casts no reflection in the mirror. Another piece of lore proven true. It’s a little eerie. You can feel him standing behind you. The warmth of his body. Hear his breathing. Yet no image of your English teacher in that silvered surface. You see your hair lifting away from your neck. Your jaw shifts as he cups it. Pressure against your lips, an invisible force making an indent.
“I was dreaming about you earlier,” you murmur.
“Were you?” Raglan’s lips graze your throat.
“You were chasing me. Somewhere with tall trees. An endless ancient forest.”
“And then?”
“Caught.”
He hums a little satisfied sound and it vibrates along your skin. “Did you want me to catch you, little mouse?”
“Yes.” You turn to face him.
Pointed teeth poke out in a grin. “Are you ready to leave?”
“Yes.” You don’t want to. You wish you could have lingered in his bed longer. Cuddling. Exploring. But you’ve got school in the morning. Homework. A shift at the coffee shop tomorrow.
Still you hesitate in the passenger seat of the bearded man’s Rolls Royce now parked beside your car in the deserted parking lot. You lean towards each other. Still a lingering taste of your blood and your sex in his mouth. Your fingers curl around his neck. He inhales sharply. His scent stirs the air. Freshly mown grass. Pine logs newly lit in a hearth. The resinous citrus of bergamot. Your hand releases and slides down his chest. Over his abdomen. You’re nearly at your goal.
Steve’s hand shackles your wrist. His grip is like iron. You’re trapped, immobile. “Gently, rabbit. A gesture of parting. No more than that, for now.” He sighs and relaxes his hold on you. The fragrance fades. “Sleep well, little one.”
You return home and find you’re suddenly exhausted, managing to set your alarm and change into pajamas before you crash dreamlessly into slumber.
***
You feel like you’ve barely slept.
You move in slow motion getting ready for the day. A sluggish drag of your toothbrush. A lazy shower. Clothing chosen without much thought. You’re so thirsty. The sunlight streaming through the window in the apartment’s kitchen is giving you a headache.
By the afternoon you start to feel a little more like your old self. Monday evenings aren’t particularly crowded at the coffee shop. You lean back against the counter, looking out through the shopfront windows. The car that pulls into the parking lot is familiar.
Steve Raglan enters the building.
You immediately perk up, his unexpected appearance the equivalent of a double espresso. “Hey.”
“Hello. How are you feeling?”
“I was dragging earlier, but I’m better now.”
Your coworker is out back. There are no other customers around. “I found myself craving…something,” he amends when the other employee makes a reappearance. “Maybe what I had the other night, only less watered down.”
“Sure, I got you.” You busy yourself preparing the drink. His fingers subtly stroke yours when he hands you the money.
A tentative sip has his eyes lighting up behind the lenses of his aviators and he takes another. “That…is delicious. Best thing I’ve had in ages. Well, maybe not quite the best thing.” His eyebrow lifts and your cheeks flush. “I’ll see you in class tomorrow night.”
You watch him leave and the burst of energy you’d had fades. The rest of the shift passes by quietly.
Back home under the covers the words on the page in front of you swim. You’ve lost track of Melville’s story. Instead you’re thinking of the feel of Raglan’s hands and mouth on you. This is the first night you haven’t seen each other since that first in his office. You wonder what he’s doing right now. Maybe something tedious like a lesson plan. Correcting papers. Sighing over stale inarticulate entries. A respite at the piano. Restless fingers over piano keys. Striking ebony and ivory. A memory of a melody shifting through time.
You close Moby Dick and reach for your notebook. You don’t want to read someone else’s words tonight. You want to gift your own.
You want him.
***
Tuesday morning you wake up to stomach cramps. You’ve started your period. Terrific.
Some ibuprofen and a warm towel heated in the microwave help to take the edge off a little. You make it through your morning class. Manage a little more writing and some homework. Eyeing the clock. Nearly time for your English Literature class. The menstrual pains are coming back with a vengeance.
You’re seated in your usual spot in the corner. Steve sets his weathered briefcase on the desk. His eyes lift and ever so casually glance in your direction. Linger. Something passes over his features. Hunger. Flared nostrils for the briefest of moments. A lift of the broad shoulders when his chest expands, drawing in more air. The tethered gaze breaks. You realize you’ve been holding your own breath and you suck in a lungful of oxygen.
The English professor paces between the aisles, his rough voice deceptively calm as he lectures. Carefully steering clear of getting too close to you. You might have been flattered that he found you so irresistible that he had to maintain a distance if you didn’t feel so lousy. You choose a group at random to join for the discussion. The symbolism of the prevalent pipe smoking featured throughout the novel is being debated. You don’t contribute much. You feel you might have a low grade fever. A prickly sensation on your skin like you might break out into a sweat at any moment. Slightly nauseous. The thought of being hurled into the ocean along with Ahab’s pipe sounds appealing right now. Cold waters closing over you. You can’t wait to take another shower.
The class finally ends. You’re slow to gather your things. The classroom door swings shut and you realize there is a sudden absence of sound. The other students are gone. It is just you and the vampire now.
There’s a door leading to another room at the back. A repurposed space filled with spare desks and chairs. A rolling cart for an overhead projector. Some poster boards from a long forgotten project, the printed text already fading, the glued photo copied images peeling. Your teacher drags you into the darkened space, his fingers wrapped around your wrist.
“Steve, I’m really not feeling well, I have—”
“I know.” He releases you. His voice is a tense rasp of sound. Things suddenly click into place. He can smell you.
“Is it that obvious?”
“Yes.” The word is uttered through clenched teeth. He’s struggling to control himself, more than you’ve ever seen him. The ash scent is strong tonight, tempered with aerated soil and an iron tang. It reminds you of blood.
“I didn’t know.” Dust under your fingers when he crowds you against a desk nearby. “Is it always like this? You know every time someone is bleeding?”
“I can tell, yes, but no, it’s not always like this.” You hear the tremor in his air exchange. Trying to resist inhaling. Shuddering over the fragrance of your shedding womb. “It’s not the blood; there’s less of that than there is tissue. Not the same as drinking it from your vessels. It’s something else entirely. That failed preparation for breeding, a feral awakening…” His voice trails off. “Are the cramps bad?”
“Yes.”
“I can help with that. Uterine contractions when I grant you your little death. A burst of endorphins to accompany the pleasure and numb the discomfort.” A ragged sigh. His breath hot against your face. “I want to eat you right up.” A flash of teeth. Wolflike. Catching the moonlight filtering through the open blinds covering the windows. The recently disturbed dust motes sparkling on those same beams.
“I’ve never, um…done anything with anyone when I’m on my period. Isn’t it going to be messy?”
“I’m counting on it.” His voice sounds raw, ravenous, at odds with the soft kiss he plants on your scarred throat. The scabbed puncture marks are burning again. Aching. Your flesh wants to be opened for him. “I’ll make sure you’re licked clean. Help you empty that hollow space right back out again…”
An answering throb in your sex. Your body desires him.
***
There are too many people around for you to get a ride from your English teacher.
You drive to his house instead, the route already familiar to you. He reaches the destination far sooner than you, waiting for you on the front porch, tugging you inside.
You’re suddenly shy when you’re back in Raglan’s bedroom.
You’re thinking about staining the sheets. You feel bad about him having to clean after that no matter how much he’s claiming he’s going to enjoy it. You give voice to these nagging misgivings.
“Do you think I’ve never had to tidy up blood before? Don’t worry about it.” His hands find their way under your shirt. Your nipples are tender. He massages them gently through the layer of your brassiere. “Let me have you, little wonder. I want to taste you…”
Your sex tingles. You nod softly. He helps you undress. You avoid looking at the stained pad adhered to the crotch of your panties. Another deep inhale from Steve. His hands on you are shaking.
You’re pushed back onto the bed, onto clean white sheets. They won’t be so pristine soon enough.
He climbs over you. Kisses you, surprisingly gently. Hand moving in small circles over your abdomen. “You have a fever,” he murmurs. “So much inflammation. That lining in your womb is eager to escape.” His fingers trail down to your mound. You still haven’t spread your legs. “Open for me.” A slight part. “Wider.” A little further. “Wider.” You let your knees fall open. Your heart races as his fingers glide through your bloodstained lips, painting small circles over your hooded button. Your hips shudder and you whine. “So swollen. So ripe. A bountiful feast before me.” He parts your labia and gently eases a finger inside of you. “Oh, little one. I can’t wait to stretch you with my cock one of these nights.” His thumb massages your clit while he fucks you with his finger. You’re starting to be distracted from the turmoil in your abdomen. Sticky blood mixes with slick arousal. Some of the metallic odor in the air is emanating from your own body. Coppery and sharp.
Your English teacher’s tongue caresses your throat before moving to your breasts. He sucks each nipple into his mouth, still pleasuring your pussy. The points of his upper cuspids dig into but do not pierce the globes of flesh. Incisors pull lightly on eraser point tips. You touch his hair and keep him there, alleviating some of the soreness. Little hums of enjoyment.
His hand lifts from your sex. You see the crimson staining his pale skin. So much of it. He brings it to his lips. Watching you when he begins to suck his finger clean. Eyes rolling back at the taste. Tongue dredging the creases of his palm. Savoring every last drop. His face now between your thighs. A stripe licked through the coated petals. Steve moans, burying his face against you.
Your back lifts off the mattress. His mouth clamps over your nub and he sucks, hard. Two fingers working inside you now, scissoring that engorged interior. “Steve, oh God, it’s…” You’re amazed at how quickly your thinking about this scenario has shifted. Shamelessly grinding yourself against his mouth. Tugging his hair. Begging for more.
That long tongue spearing inside you. Fingers laid flat, rapidly dragged back and forth over your enlarged clit. Both of your scents heavy in the air, mingling. The obscene sound of his mouth sinking into all that wetness. The built up lining in your body makes the sensation of climaxing feel different. More tender, aching. Shaking against him. He eats you right through to a second. His face is a mess, beard stained garnet and a deeper shade that’s nearly black. Bloodied hand wrapped around his cock. White and red and pink where his cum and your blood have mated and merged spread across your abdomen and between your breasts.
In the shower he’s much calmer. Taking his time washing you. Coaxing a third release from you with his fingers. He’d been right. You do feel better. You help him strip the bed, trying not to think about how it looks like a crime scene. Tucked beside him once again. He’s reading the latest prose you’ve created.
“You’re still holding back,” he observes, closing the cover of the notebook.
Your head lifts to regard him. “So are you.” He hasn’t fed from you tonight. The dark feast he’d consumed between your thighs wasn’t an equivalent for drinking fresh blood.
The vampire stares at you for a moment. “You know why that is.”
“But you said you can control it. You know not to take too much.”
“It’s more complicated than that. Your body needs time to replenish plasma and create new cells. Even a little constantly drained over a period of time will make you tired. Weak. You admitted it yourself. You were exhausted this morning.” He sees you frown. “Do you really think you know more about this subject matter than I do?”
“I…no. Of course not.” Your fingers pluck at the clean sheet spread beneath you. “Why am I so addicted to it?”
“Something in my saliva. Like the…neurotoxin, as you call it. Also involuntary. Rendering prey more willing. Immobile. An induced evolution as it were. That’s one of the reasons for it, anyway.”
“What’s another?”
He grins. “My devastating charm.”
You shove his arm playfully. “You’re so arrogant.”
“I prefer the term confident.”
“Will you let me stay the night?”
The smile slips from his mouth. “I don’t think you’d enjoy that very much, rabbit.”
“Why not?”
“It’s not sleep like you know it. More of a kind of restful hibernation. Stasis.”
Your earlier suspicions were correct, then. “You’ll look like you’re dead,” you say softly.
“I am dead,” he reminds you gently.
“Who turned you?”
“That is not a topic to be discussed tonight.”
“But you will tell me, eventually?”
“Eventually.”
“What’s your real name?”
The vampire remains silent.
“Why are you so reluctant to tell me?”
“Because there’s power in a name. Because no one has said it in a long, long time. It’s not for tonight, little mouse.” His mouth brushes yours. Again. Lips pressing firmer this time.
The questions scatter from your mind.

Because I'm crap at technology, I have actually lost a request that someone asked of me and now I can't reply to it directly so if it was you I'm so so sorry. I do remember the premise though and I'll try to do it my best!
Chained - ASL & F!Celestial Dragon!Reader
Summary: basically what I remember them asking was ASL and a celestial dragon who is learning about the world, who eventually decides she doesn't want to go home. This was described as like a Pink Diamond/Rose Quarts type situation like in SU. I've decided to make this child ASL, then a little time skip! Thought the idea was adorable! TW for mentions of slavery, child abuse, abuse and foul language.
You don't remember exactly how you managed to leave the ship, or how you got into that empty crate, or how that crate ended up heading in a direction away from the shore and into the sea or-
Well never mind that or the numerous "or"s you could list. You were lost, probably many miles and islands away from the original place your parents had decided to tour. Why they thought leaving the Grand Line, or the Red Line for that matter, to walk around a little city with their heads up high was a good idea was a mystery. But it helped you because it gave you an opportunity to go on a little adventure, just like the books you read talked about!
When you were at home you weren't allowed to read because "reading is a peasants hobby". Little did they know that your grandmother, now passed, had a secret library stacked with books from across the world in her home. Boredom had you seeking trouble one day, causing you to fall right into the library from a hatch in the floor. It hurt, but it was worth it to see rows and rows of shelves lined with hardbacks as old as your parents. Some were newer however, like the Sora comic books that you found. Why your grandmother thought it was nice to keep them was a little strange, even if you didn't know her well she seemed like the uptight sort. Yet nowadays you wondered what she was truly like if she managed to read and dog tag some of the most fascinating books you'd picked up.
Currently, a few days after the events that lead to you escaping, you had landed on the steep shores of an island covered in jungle. With your small, and slowly depleting, supply of snacks you climbed out of the box and began to scale some rocks. In your current attire, the suit you were forced into, it was a lot more difficult than it should have been. Luckily the bubble they usually had you wear was popped with your very dramatic exit through the cabin window.
Reaching solid ground, and grass, you discovered you were met with very dense forest like you'd assumed. With the naive courage of a lion cub, you began to walk into the brush and disappear. As you continued, looking all around at the new sights, you wondered how your parents were doing. Had they noticed you were gone yet? Your father was a busy busy man and often too proud to visit you so he probably had another day or two until he realised you were gone. Your mother was a different story, she'd probably stormed in to have you go on a walk with her through town and saw you missing.
After another hour or so of prodding snakes and narrowly dodging some monkeys on vines, you heard a change in the surrounding sound. Three sharp, childish voices up ahead. It excited you, you'd never met anyone your age who wasn't already from your homeland. Would they look the same? Would they be kind? It seems they'd sensed you before you could stick your head out, as the boy in orange yelled angrily into the bushes.
"Reveal yourself or get lost!" He shouted, making you jump a little. Was everyone out here as aggressive as him?
He hadn't seen you yet but it looked like the blonde he was with finally caught a glimpse of you. "I'm sorry about him, he's just loud don't worry. Could you step into the light?"
You obliged him, looking at the pair in wonder. They were much different from anyone else, definitely not like anyone had warned you. Your uncle said common people had horns and tails that they could control like arms to snatch people, your aunt said they had blue skin and gills like fish with the faces of demons. But these two boys were just like you. With soft looking skin, small noses, full heads of hair and only one pair of eyes. You had yet to spy any horns or tails, but you knew that your aunt was definitely wrong.
The brunette looked unimpressed by you, looking you up and down like how your father looked at people. If the books were right, this was judgement. But the blonde however, looked like he had just choked on a fly. "What the hell is one of them doing out here-"
"Hi I'm Luffy! This is Ace and Sabo. Now that you know us, why're you wearing that ugly potato sack?" The crouched one asked. You'd not noticed him, you definitely should have become his eyes looked like dinner plates and his mouth was stretched like a boa constrictor.
"Luffy don't tell her our names she could be an enemy!" Ace yelled, hitting his brother. You didn't like hitting, it reminded you of your father and that servant you saw once. That back then was much messier than it was now.
"No, Ace's right. That is an enemy" Sabo was pale, like he wanted nothing more than to lunge away or at you. "That's one of those bubble heads I told you about".
You were confused as they entered some private, quiet conversation. Even the loud one was calm. When they concluded, the first brunette looked vicious. He leaned down, picking up a rock and hurling it at a tree near your head. Obviously you flinched away, looking back at him with both confusion and fear. Why were they acting like this?
The blonde copied him, pelting you with pebbles until you were forced to run away. It was only the wide eyed boy that didn't copy, looking at his brothers in anger and yelling something you couldn't hear. It was too bad, you left into the shade of the trees.
You slept in a cave that night, thinking about those boys until morning. It kept you awake. Why didn't they even try to talk to you? What exactly caused that reaction?
Breakfast consisted on a loaf of bread in a tree, with heavy and tired eyes you watched the shrubs below. That was until someone sat next to you with a heavy thud. You turned and saw him, the scar faced one from before. "Hi strange girl!"
"Uh, hi strange boy?" You replied, not knowing what to call him.
He tilted his head and looked offended. "I'm not strange, you are!"
"What, no I'm not! You're the one throwing rocks at me!" You defended, and though it wasn't necessarily true it was just stating the groups odd behaviour.
"Nuh uh, Sabo says you're weird because you keep people and they don't want to be with you and you wear bubbles and shoot people!" He said, crossing his arms.
But you didn't react this time, once again remembering that scene from so long ago. The guns your family had on display, the rooms you weren't allowed to enter that always echoed with suffering. One time, when you were very young, you stood just a little close to one of the padlocked doors and cast a shadow under it. Whatever was behind it lunged at the wood on the other side, cursing and screaming profanities at you. From then on you didn't go near any unknown doors.
You're people weren't good people, you knew that and you didn't know how it made you feel, but now that he'd said it out loud... You could only think, what else did your people do? To the people back home, and to the people of the world. You were stuck behind one-way glass, they could see you but you couldn't see them and it frustrated you. What else was there that was missing?
"You know, I get the feeling that you're not so bad" Luffy hummed, picking a leaf from your hair. You gave him a look but he only ever smiled at you. "I don't think you shoot people, or take them. Do you?"
"No. I- I don't understand. I need to know more about myself, my people, from you because they won't show me or tell me. I don't get it! How are you supposed to be human?" You were struggling with the thoughts in your head that swelled up into tears. Tears were the only thing that ever got you a reaction so it was all you could do. It was like you knew what you wanted to ask but your mouth couldn't say it right. You needed to know more, shatter the glass that kept you apart.
Luffy stuck a finger out and flicked you, making you stop crying momentarily. "I don't know what you have to do to be human, I just do stuff. But I can teach you what I know if you want?".
All you could do was say yes.
For the first week, it was just you and Luffy in the jungle. He told you that the first step to being human was to stop dressing like a bag of flour, telling you to discard your old attire and wear some old clothes he'd managed to snag. It was only a simple pair of boys shorts and a tank top, green and grey.
It was during a fishing trip (attempt) that Luffy showed you his devil fruit abilities, to which you nearly fainted. Devils fruits, Ds and pirates were the three main things all nobles were taught to fear. It didn't help that Luffy revealed he was, in fact, all three or was going to try to be at least for the last one. But his stories, personality and overall sunny nature reassured you. You began to learn not to judge a book by it's cover.
The second week, Sabo and Ace finally revealed themselves again and admitted to having watched you both from afar. The blonde admitted that he also hadn't trusted you with Luffy, and while he thought better now he would still not drop his guard. After learning so much in only seven days, you didn't blame him. Though they didn't like to interact with you, both boys started to tag along or stay close by.
By your third week, you received news about your absence in the form of a newspaper. "World noble child missing: reward being offered for return"
Ace was ready to jump and turn you in, but in a surprise twist Sabo had defended you. It might've helped that you two had a separate talk one night and he confessed to having been noble too, of course not one with your status but it was all the same. He listened to you tell him about your ignorance and Luffy's training, deciding he was alright with you hanging around as long as no one got hurt. You learned that sometimes you can relate to people in the strangest of ways.
After an entire month, Ace finally started to talk to you. Though it was mostly mockery at your poor, but quickly developing, hunting skills you still felt some friendly teasing in his voice. With the danger of being caught, you came up with a plan and finally sat the brothers down to decide what you wanted to do.
In the light of the bonfire your hair glowed like red embers, a serious expression on your face. "I'm going to stay".
Luffy cheered, Ace and Sabo looked unsure. "The longer you stay, the wider the search for you becomes. They'll find you eventually if this keeps up" Sabo warned. He liked your company, but he couldn't risk his brothers for a girl he'd known for a month.
"He's right, you'd need to die for them to stop searching" Ace added morbidly.
"Exactly. I've decided I'm going to die".
The gang let out a collective "huh?" All three looked at you as if you were mad.
You shook your head, pulling out your old clothes from behind you. There was dirt caked into it, a few drops of blood from the rocks and running but other than that it was intact. You needed to change that. "I'm going to set this out as bait, when they find it they'll stop the search".
Sabo looked a little confused. "Why would they stop if they found your clothes, surely they'd just look harder?"
From the corner of your vision you fiddled with a knife you'd been given. It was clear, safe if you cut right. Raising it before they couldn't react, you cut the palm of your hand and let the blood splatter across your old suit. Red soaked into it like a murder scene, hearing the boys let out small yelps.
Luffy ran to you, worried while Sabo screamed something about getting bandages. Ace tsk'ed at you, but he did look slightly shocked. "Smart move, but stupid too. You've gone and messed up your hand now!"
While the night closed you fell asleep watching the stars, those three boys surrounding you equally exhausted. A glint of white crossed the sky as you pet Luffy's hair, he was fast asleep as soon as he'd layed down.
In the morning, all three of you returned to the cliffs where you had come from and stared out into the blue ocean. Wrapped up, torn and stained garment in hand, you tossed it out to sea and watched it drift away into the distance. It was like you were saying goodbye to yourself, except now you weren't sure that was ever really you. You can't remember having as much fun or anger or sadness then, just nothing at all. Being human was being emotional too, and that's what you felt.
In the afternoon Ace cut your hair with a knife in front of a mirror and you stared at yourself. You. For once in your life you controlled how you looked, who you were with and the place you were in. That celestial girl was dead, and from her shining shell crawled out an entirely different person.
The same day you swore an oath to never go back, never be one of them and to join your newfound friends in their profession as pirates.
Everything you feared once was what you'd become, because you realised it was never your fear at all.
I'm sorry please forgive how rushed this was, I hardly had creativity writing it so it's very confusing but I hope you enjoy it.

Hey again Van! I've just been reading back some of your work, and I was wondering, do you have any hcs related to a little Loki with mama Frigga? No worries if not tho ofc!
hiya kurt! i’m so glad you sent this in, mama frigga is my absolute beloved and i really want to write more of her. sorry this took me awhile to get to!
loki calls her mama or mummy
she is the only one loki lets brush and braid his hair
she sings lullabies from vanaheim that never fails to put her baby to sleep (babies if you count thor as a child)
she is the only one who can successfully scold odin
she always watches how much loki eats at feasts to make sure he’s having enough. thor hardly needs the same attention…
loki and thor are the only ones allowed in her boudoir, loki spends a lot of his time there
she loves to read! that’s where loki found his own love for books
she’ll brave winter just so loki can spend some time outside without worrying about the heat
her and loki love to go to a creek at the edge of the forest, thor comes along sometimes too. they’ve done it since the boys were toddlers
she is the only one who can truly calm loki down when he gets anxious
loki will nap in her and odin’s bed during the day, sometimes
loki loves her kisses < 3

Emerald Green - Frodo Baggins X GN Reader
Tumblr media
Title: Emerald Green
Frodo Baggins X GN Reader
Additional Characters: N/A
Requested by: @almost-gabrielle! (I'm sorry it's a bit short!)
WC: 936
Warnings: Fluff
The beautiful green forests in Hobbiton were always so peaceful. The sun shone bright and the trees seemed to dance in the wind. It was a nice day to be outside. You held a woven basket in your hands, filled to the brim with berries and flowers. A breeze blew through your hair as you walked down an old dirt path. It was a lovely day. And finally, the Hobbit that you were looking for, you found him. Sitting under the base of a tree, reading a book. He looked so angelic, so ethereal.
“Frodo Baggins! I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” You exclaimed, walking towards him. Frodo didn't even flinch, looking up from a book.
"Y/N," He smiled as you walked over, "You've been looking for me?" He asked as you sat down beside him, placing your basket down between the both of you.
You inhaled a large breath of the morning air, letting out a sigh. Looking over at Frodo, you leaned over slightly to see what he was reading. "What is it that you are reading, Fro, dear?" You asked. His eyes met yours, and his lips formed into a small smile.
He placed his book back down on his lap, covering it with his hands, and for some reason, he looked rather nervous, "I doubt that you would be interested in it."
You hummed, nodding your head as you looked at the basket of berries. "Are you alright, Frodo?" You asked, concerned. Frodo's expression became more panicked. He shook his head frantically, not meeting your gaze. You grabbed his hand, holding it tightly. This action seemed to calm him a little bit. You squeezed his hand reassuringly. "Frodo... Whatever it is, you can tell me." You encouraged him. He stared at you for a moment before speaking up again.
He took a deep breath before beginning, "I was..." He paused again, seeming unsure if he wanted to continue.
After a few moments, you gave him a gentle nudge. "It'll be okay, Frodo," You said, smiling reassuringly.
He nodded slowly before continuing. "I was wondering... If you'd like to take a walk with me."
Your eyes widened slightly, a bit shocked as you felt your cheeks burn, "A walk?"
Frodo nodded, "I, uh, yes." He answered, before grabbing the book that he was reading from his lap. "I got this for you." He offered it out to you. Your face warmed up even further when you realized that he had gotten you one of your favorite books.
"So that's why you hid the book away." You chuckled, accepting it from him. You turned it over in your hands, the cover was an emerald green, the pages a cream. It was one of your favorite books that you had lost a long time ago. Before you moved to Hobbiton. You had told Frodo about it so many times, it must have been seared into his mind. "Thank you..." You muttered, looking over at Frodo; seeing his blushing cheeks. "I will treasure this book always. And, I'd love to take a walk with you, Frodo, dear." You added.
Standing, Frodo cleared his throat, offering his hand out to you. "My dear," He spoke, "Shall we go for a walk together?" You laughed lightly, taking his hand.
"Of course!" You replied, grinning widely, grabbing your basket. Together, you began your journey, hand in hand. You talked about random things; food, music. Eventually, a comfortable silence settled upon the two of you. A comfortable quietness that made you feel at home. The leaves rustling in the breeze, the soft sounds of animals making their noises, and the sun's gentle warmth as it began to set. It was peaceful. And the two of you shared it. It was just the two of you, enjoying each other's company - whilst also snacking on the fresh berries that you had previously collected.
As you and Frodo continued your walk through the serene Hobbiton landscape, you stumbled upon a beautiful patch of wildflowers. With a twinkle in your eyes, you both decided to take a break and make flower crowns for each other. Frodo's nimble fingers weaved together a lovely crown for you, adorned with vibrant blooms, while you fashioned one for him, your laughter filling the air as you both got caught up in the moment.
After adorning each other with the flower crowns, Frodo suddenly leaped up, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "A game of chase, perhaps?" You suggested, and a playful grin spread across his face. And just like that, the two of you were off, darting through the meadow, giggling like carefree children.
As the game of chase came to an end, you found yourselves back on the path, breathless and exhilarated. Frodo caught your hand, twirling you around in a dance-like spin, the setting sun casting a golden glow around the two of you. Amid your laughter and the gentle twirl, it became apparent that the walks in Hobbit culture held a deeper meaning - a sign of courtship. A sign that love was in the air. And you knew it was true. You had always had a certain fondness for Frodo, it was only a matter of time.
And the warmth of Frodo's hand in yours, the joy in his eyes, and the shared moments of happiness, laughter, and overall connection created a bond that transcended words. And as you continued your walk, hand in hand, it felt like the beginning of a beautiful journey together. A journey of a lifetime.
Who knew what was in store for the both of you in the future.

Pain🌑🍂
Summary: You’ve always been best friends with Paul and had feelings for him, but then he ditched you leaning you wondering if he ever wanted to be friends
TW: depressed, mentions of suicide
Tumblr media
I drove down to Paul’s house because that’s what I did every day after school, he was my best friend ever since we were little kids and I couldn’t get enough of him, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him but I’d never tell him that if it could ruin our friendship
I knocked on his door waiting for an answer, I waited and waited until I knocked again
“Paul are you home?!” I shouted
Still no answer, I sat on his door step for about an hour incase he was out or something but when it started to get dark I gave up and drove back home
It felt weird not spending the evening with him
I finally got home and just sat in my room deciding to use this free time to read a book, I always loved the romance books thinking maybe it would be me and Paul one day, just hopeful wishing though
For the next month I called Paul all the time and kept visiting but nothing all I got was Jake and Embry telling me to leave it alone, I tried to think of what I might have done but I couldn’t recall anything which made me feel even worse, if it was something I did maybe I could make it up to him but…..now I have no clue what to do and now I’m left alone
It’s been hard not being near him and it’s taken a toll on me but it felt different, like I was missing a part of me, my chest ached, I never felt happy leading to me just sitting in my room, wallowing away to what felt like nothing
Without him I just wasn’t whole anymore, I called him again just so I could hear his voice message it was the only thing I could hold onto that maybe I’d hear him again
No surprise when he didn’t answer but this time I left a voicemail
“Paul it’s me again, I wish you would answer or even just tell me why you left me alone, I just hope whatever it is that maybe you can forgive me, I just thought I’d leave a message and tell you I’m sorry and that you mean everything to me, I wish things had gone differently but I can’t handle this anymore, I can’t feel like this, goodbye Paul, I love you”
I ended the message and stuffed my phone in my pocket, walking out of my house and jumped into my vechile, driving off the diving cliffs, there was nowhere else I could think of
As I drove there all I could think about was all the memories I had with him, his smile kept flashing before my eyes
After my little hike I reached the edge of the cliff, looking down realizing how high this really was and how anyone survived this jump
There was no going back now, once I jump that’s it and maybe in my after life things will be better
I kicked off my shoes and threw my jacket aside
“I love you Paul” but right when I said that I heard a growl behind me
I turned around to see wolves, huge wolves, I wasn’t scared though, why would I, I wanted to die anyways, I looked them all over realizing they didn’t have a hungry or mad look on their faces, they looked almost sad, specifically one, the one that was whining
It was grey with speaks of brown, it’s was beautiful, it slowly made its way towards me and it nudged me back away from the edge with its snout almost like it knew what I wanted to do
It curled itself around me and I was enveloped with complete warmth, it felt like when Paul use to hug me and with that I broke down crying
“Please let me go, let me do this” I pleaded trying to back away but it kept me close as if whined again
It leaned down and motioned for me to get on his back, reluctantly I did and he was so soft
I laid down, wrapping my arms around his neck as he walked in front of the others as they followed closely behind
The tears were still rapidly dropping down my cheeks, hiccuping from how hard I was crying and the wolf only whined harder
“I miss him” I whispered knowing they couldn’t understand me
We walked all throughout the forest until we made it to a clearing, realizing it was Sam and Emily Uleys house
“Bring me back” I said trying to leading it back to the cliff but it wouldn’t budge so I hopped off and ran back into the forest but I was no use he was infront of me in a second
I dropped to my knees crying, I was so confused, I had no clue what was happening, was I already dead
I felt a hand on my back frightening me, I looked up and saw Paul infront of me with only shorts on but right now I didn’t care all I cared about was having him near me
“Paul….I…I’m sorry for whatever I did, just please tell me what I did to make you hate me”
“Oh y/n I’m so sorry I did this to you, trust me when I say I never wanted to leave you, you’re all I’ve ever needed but I had to leave to protect you, it was so hard staying away but when I listened to your voice message I knew I needed to get to you and stop you, I didn’t think it would get this bad” he cried
“That was you, the wolf?”
“Ya and I promise I’ll explain everything just please don’t ever do that again because I’d die if you died, you’re my soulmate, so promise me”
“I promise Paul”

Saul Silva x reader - storms
Tumblr media
Can you write a story about Saul not liking the storm because it reminds him of the gunshot that killed his father and reader (his wife/girlfriend) finding out about it, please? - Anon 💜
After Saul’s home was destroyed, he had nowhere to go back to, nowhere to stay, and you couldn’t bare seeing your boyfriend not have a place to go to get away.
So you invited him to come live with you at yours.
“It’s bit small, but I can make some room for you, and Sky if he wants too.” You said.
“It’s perfectly, thank you so much darling, honestly. At the moment I think will prefer to stay at the school.” Saul said.
You nodded, setting his bag on the bedroom floor, and you gestured to a set of draws in the corner of the room.
“I cleared them for you, it gave me a good reason to finally go through all my shit.”
Saul laughed, walking over he kissed the top of your head.
“Did you you actually get rid of it?”
“Of course not, I just put it in my room at the school.” You grinned.
Saul shook his head a little, smiling at you.
While he was unpacking his things, you made your way to the attic and out the doors.
Your family built this home centuries ago, and coming from a long line of nature fairies, they wanted somewhere to look over all the trees from the little hill it was built on.
So that’s what they did.
You went out the attic doors, and up some old and probably dangerous ladders to a small watch tower where you could sit and just gaze over the forest.
It was beautiful seeing the slowly changing trees from above, the birds flying above and between them.
Sitting on the floor, you let out a small sigh as you held out your hand to a crow who was waiting for you.
“Well hello, I’m sorry I didn’t bring any food up with me.”
The crow titled it’s head a little, looking at you with beady eyes, hopping from your hand to the floor, looking around before taking flight again.
You sat up there for a few minutes, looking as the dark clouds in the distance slowly came rolling closer.
Getting up, you made your way back inside, down to the study to finish some work while you waited for Saul.
Eventually after looking around, and exploring your little home, he came wondering into the study.
“You don’t have a living room.” He said.
“Left hand side of the room, third books, fifth shelf, first book.”
Saul furrowed his brows and you smiled softly at him.
He walked over, following your instructions carefully, and he pulled the book, a small click resounding around the quiet room.
The bookshelf slid to the right, revealing your living room and he turned to you confused.
“But this section isn’t on the outside, magic?”
You pushed yourself from the desk, following him into the living room.
“Yeah, really old magic. The person who built this ages ago did it, used this room to hold all his valuables, I use it as my living room.”
“Why not bedroom or study?”
Gesturing for your boyfriend to follow you, you walked to the large window.
“Cause I enjoy the view from here, and like to watch some tv with it.”
Saul put his arm around your waist, pulling you closer so you could rest your head against him.
“It’s nice, honestly not what I was picturing.”
“What did you expect? A farm or something?” You laughed.
He chuckled a little.
“I suppose so, yes. But this is nice, relaxing, but how do you make it back on time everyday?”
“Oh! There’s a portal here, goes right to my office.”
He nodded his head.
“I’ll show you next week, don’t worry nobody can get through it, it’s not in the open, it’s hidden.”
“How many things do you have hidden?”
“Loads.” You grinned.
Walking in front of him, you leant forward to kiss him and dropped yourself on the sofa, laying yourself down.
“Wanna watch a film?”
“As long as it’s not some sappy one then sure.”
So that’s how you spent the rest of the day, cuddled up to Saul, watching films all day.
As evening drew by, a light rain began to fall and you were sat in bed reading while Saul was doing some work in the study.
It wasn’t long before you fell asleep, and Saul wondered in, climbing in bed next to you, wrapping his arms around you as he fell asleep.
A loud crackle of thunder woke you up, and you grumbled a little, turned over and patting the other side of the bed.
“Love..?”
You sat up, rubbing your eyes and turned on the lamp, looking around the empty room.
“Saul?”
With a small yawn, you got up, padding around each room to try and find your boyfriend, and you found him in the study, sitting in the arm chair.
Another rumble of thunder went over, and you noticed how he suddenly tensed up.
Walking over to your desk, you grabbed the headphones, and your iPad, making your way over.
You sat on the arm of the chair, giving him the iPad after connecting the headphones, then you slipped them on his head, letting him rest against your side.
You didn’t say anything, but you sat there running your fingers through his hair, manipulating thick vines to grow over the windows to block out any flashes of lightening.
You didn’t mind storms, sometimes they were relaxing to just sit there and listen to while reading or working, but you could tell he didn’t like them.
You didn’t want to leave him in his own, so you stayed there all night, falling asleep half sprawled out over his lap.
Saul had set the iPad aside, playing one of your playlists, and he was running his hand over your head, smoothing his thumb over a little scar over your forehead.
He wasn’t sure if the storm had passed or not, and he didn’t want to remove the headphones to check, so he kept them on.
When you woke up again, he was reading something on the iPad, and you removed the vines from the window to reveal the sunrise.
Reaching up, you pushed the headphones down, gaining his attention.
“Hey…” you said gently.
“Morning.”
Saul leant down, giving you a kiss and he set the iPad and headphones on the floor.
You sat up to sit on the arm of the chair but he pulled you back into his lap and you looked at him, letting him bury his face into your shoulder and you held the back of his head.
“If you don’t like storms I can make a quiet room.” You said gently.
He shook his head.
“Don’t exhaust yourself with that kind of magic it’s fine… I’ve never liked them…”
“It’s alright..”
You rested your head on his, and you felt his tears hitting your skin.
“Talk to me love, I’m here for you.”
He took a small breath.
Then he began to explain what had happened with his father, the gunshot, and everything after.
It all made sense now.
And you held him tightly in your arms as he tried to keep his composure.
You didn’t have the words to comfort him, so you said nothing, you simply just held him, and for Saul that was better than someone talking to him.
Just you holding him was enough to comfort him, because it reminded him that he wasn’t alone

I’m sorry if I lied but I don’t remember.
Part 7 of the Obliviate Series.
Ominis x mc
Summary: While discussing your summer plans Ominis learns of plans you made last year without telling him
Warnings: Angst and game spoilers
Tumblr media
The weekend has finally arrived bringing your first week of school to a close. As the final class of the day ends you let out a sigh of relief. Ominis turns to you smiling
“Enjoying yourself are we?”
“I am so ready for the weekend I have been itching to take a trip into the forest.”
“Why the forest?” He frowns.
“To speak with the centaurs about the poacher movements over the summer.” You explain “We planned last spring that we would meet the first weekend of the year.”
“Last spring?” He raises his voice, “you promised me you were done fighting the poachers last fall after you were hurt!” You stand in the middle of the empty classroom confused.
“I’m sorry Ominis but I don’t remember.” You falter unsure of what to say “I only remember fighting them since my fifth year. I’ve never stopped…”
“You lied to me then.” His words cut through the air.
“I am sorry if I did. I don’t know why I would have…”
“Are you justifying it?” He snaps.
“No! I don’t know. I can’t remember.” You fiddle with your wand awkwardly. “Do you want to come with us to meet with the centaurs?” You try to make a peace offering.
“Us?” He scowled
“Me and Poppy.”
“Poppy knew?” He asks quietly.
“Uhm… yes.” you kick at the floor unsure of how to proceed.
“Just forget it. You don’t remember it doesn’t matter.” He snaps standing and walking away. You stand rooted to the spot unsure if you should follow. He stops for a second when he realizes you are not following and huffs then continues to walk. This was the first time he has left you alone in Hogwarts since that night in the Undercroft. Every night he dropped you off at your door and in the morning he would sit in the common room with a book reading as he waited for you to wake up so you could walk to breakfast together. Now he has left you. Slowly you pack your books away giving Ominis time to get some distance as you had to walk the same direction. Eventually you force yourself to carefully exit the classroom. Strolling along you stare at the walls trying to decide what to do about Ominis. You did not know him well enough yet to know if he needed space or if you should go talk to him and try to smooth things over. You honestly feel bad you lied but since you can’t remember it your apology feels hollow.
“MC?” A man’s voice calls from behind you.
“Oh hello Professor Gaunt.” You try to keep your tone cool as your pace quickens.
“Do you have a moment?” He asks, causing you to begrudgingly slow your steps to a stop. You turn to him and shoot a cold,
“Yes?” He smiles warmly ignoring your attitude.
“I have heard great stories of you as of late. Is it true you were attacked by Victor Rookwood? And the stories of your daring defeated of Ranrok are legendary around here. You have quite the impressive list of accomplishments for one so young.” Biting the tip of your tongue incredulously you stare.
“I have had my fair share of excitement.” You eventually reply. The Professor takes a step closer and replies a low voice
“Indeed.”
“Which is why I am trying to figure out how you got the upper hand on me.” Stepping back you test the waters wondering if he will admit guilt to you. The man flashes a dangerous smile, blue eyes sparkling.
“Some mysteries are best left unsolved, little beauty.” The words make your blood run cold but you stand your ground staring him down. He winks at you and laughs as he walks away.
“Don’t be so serious.”
As you watch him leave the words ring in your ears “little beauty.”
Ominis sits in the common room with a cup of tea seemingly absorbed in thoughts. You swallow hard and sit next to Ominis on the sofa. Before you can try and make amends Ominis hands you the cup of tea.
“It’s your favorite.” He mumbles. You sip the tea quietly. Until eventually Ominis breaks the tension
“I’m sorry. I should not have raised my voice at you.”
“I am sorry I lied.”
“I can’t hold you accountable for something you can’t remember. But please refrain from lying in the future.”
“I will, but why did I promise not to fight the poachers?”
“Do you remember being injured last fall?”
“Yes”
“Well after that I could not bear the idea of you being hurt again like that or worse. After I told you how I felt you agreed not to put yourself in unnecessary danger anymore.”
“Well that is not an unnecessary fight.” You argue.
“It is not a fight for one person let alone a student. You should be here, at Hogwarts, with me.” He persists.
“Ominis I love Hogwarts and think you are great. But I can not ignore a problem like this.”
“No you can’t ignore anyone who asks for help. I know. The problem is how you never stop to think about the cost to yourself.”
“I have ancient magic, I am fine.” You insist.
“Until you are not! You were not fine when my family attacked you.” His voice falters.
“And where were you then?” He opened his mouth then closed it again. You feel tears prick at the back of your eyes. Spinning on your heel you march out of the common room calling over your shoulder
“No wonder I never told you.”
Outside it is a beautiful afternoon with a warm sun and gentle cool breeze. Taking a full deep breath of the fresh air you hop on your broom. The cool rush of wind as you fly away from the castle seems to cool your head. Regret creeps in and you slow your flight. You touch your feet down on a grassy hill some ways from the castle and dismount your broom. Taking your shoes off you let your feet touch the grass and dirt, as you enjoy the sunshine. You flop down on the soft grass and close your eyes, allowing yourself to cry. This has been such a mentally exhausting week and you just needed a moment alone to think. Eyes red and puffy you stop crying and lay your arm over your eyes. The sunshine warms you as it occurs to you how thirsty you are from crying. Sitting up you look around; down along the hill walks Sebastian on a dirt path, hands in his pocket whistling for all he was worth. You chuckle at the sight and wave to him. Sebastian waves back adjusting his destination. As he walks up to you he calls
“How long have you been laying there?” You shrug as he sits down next to you pulling a blade of grass from your hair.
“What are you doing out here?” You ask
“I am on my way to Feldcroft to check on Anne. What are you doing out here?”
“I just had to think. Has Ominis always been so controlling over me?”
“Ha! He is a bit much isn’t he?” Sebastian laughs.
“It’s a little suffocating.” You admit
“It is. But what would we do without him worrying for us? Ominis is always there for whether we like it or not. Always bailing us out of trouble. He is a fiercely loyal and true friend.” You grimace
“Not the answer you wanted?” He asks
“It’s just hard.” You shrug
“For him too.” Sebastian looks at you in earnest as he continues,
“He has essentially lost his first love because of his family. He feels horribly guilty and love sick. Cut him a break.” You sigh
“I never thought about it like that.”
“He loves you.” Sebastian smiles and you can almost swear you see sorrow behind the eyes.
“I better be off.” Sebastian chuckles and turns to leave. “What are you going to do?” He questions.
“I should probably go and apologize.” You laugh ruefully. Sebastian nods, thrusting his hands back into his pockets whistling merrily as he continues his journey. You decide to walk back to the castle so you can work out what you are going to say on the way. Being so absorbed in your apology you miss the dark figure materializing behind you.

Think, Think, Think //JTK
Tumblr media
Summary: Late night bedtime stories told in Daddy's silly voices.
Characters: Jake x Tommy (son) x reader Warnings: All the Dad!Jake fluff in the world. Author's Note: Working off an idea from @writingcold, I hope I did it justice. DISCLAIMER: I do not own Winnie-the-Pooh, just borrowing a few excerpts...
__________________________________________________________
Exhaling as he closed the front door, Jake quietly sets his guitar case on the floor by the stairs and slowly sets his keys in the glass dish on the entry table. He starts to make his way towards the kitchen but gets stopped in his tracks when he hears a little voice calling from the stairs.
“Daddy..”
Turning on his heels, he finds Tommy slowly making his way down the steps. “What are you still doing awake?” Jake says as he walks over to the stairs.
“I wanted to stay up and wait for you.”
“Buddy, it is way past your bedtime.”
“I know but you said you’d read me a story before bed.”
Jake closes his eyes, a sigh escaping his lips as he realizes that he did promise Tommy he’d read him a bedtime story. “I did.. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, Daddy, you’re here now.” Tommy says as he gives Jake a beaming smile.
Jake chuckles and picks Tommy up from the floor. “I am here now, so which story would you like me to read?” He says as carries Tommy back upstairs to his bedroom.
“Winnie-the-Pooh.”
“I am not surprised.” Jake says as he flicks on the lamp on Tommy’s dresser. He retrieves the book from the shelf on the wall and goes to sit in the rocking chair beside the window. Getting all settled in their bed. “Alright, shall we begin?”
Tommy eagerly nods his head and snuggles up to Jake on his lap. “Can you use your silly voice?”
“My silly voice?”
“Mmhmm, the one that makes you sound a little English or a pirate?”
Jake laughs but nods his head. “I will do that.” He clears his throat eliciting a giggle from Tommy.
“…Once upon a time, a very long time ago now, about last Friday, Winnie-the-Pooh lived in a forest all by himself under the name of Sanders..
“One day when he was out walking, he came to an open place in the middle of the forest, and in the middle of this place was a large oak tree, and from the top of the tree, there came a loud buzzing noise.
“Winnie-the-Pooh sat down at the foot of the tree, put his head between his paws and began to think..”
“Think think think..” Tommy mimics as he stifles a yawn. Jake chuckles and runs his fingers through Tommy’s wavy hair as he continues on with the story. –
“Good morning, Christopher Robin.” He said. “Good morning, Winnie-ther-Pooh,” said you. “I wonder if you’ve got such a thing as a balloon about you?” “A balloon?” “Yes, I just said to myself coming along; ‘I wonder if Christopher Robin has such a thing as a balloon about him?’ I just said to myself, thinking of balloons, and wondering.”
“He wonders a lot..” Tommy says.
Jake smiles. “He is quite a curious bear, isn’t he?”
“Very much so.” Tommy says in agreement. “Keep going daddy.”
Jake clears his throat and looks down his nose through his glasses to find his spot where he had left off. “Ah, here we are. Okay..
“What do you want a balloon for?” you said. Winnie-the-Pooh looked round to see that nobody was listening, put his paw to his mouth, and said in a deep whisper: “Honey!” Jake mimics the motions in the book sending Tommy in giggles.
“But you don’t get honey with balloons!” “I do,” said Pooh.
“I bet Uncle Sammy could get honey with a balloon.” Tommy says. “He knows all about the science behind how things float.”
Jake chuckles as he rocks back and forth in the chair. “I think Uncle Sammy is a bit too heavy for a balloon to carry him.”
“Well not if he has a million balloons, then he’d be able to float. We should ask him.”
Jake scoffs and smiles. “We can ask him tomorrow.” –
“So, while you walked up and down and wondered if it would rain, Winne-the-Pooh sang this song:
How sweet to be a Cloud Floating in the Blue! Every little cloud Always sings aloud. “How sweet to be a Cloud Floating in the Blue!” It makes him very proud To be a little Cloud.”
Waking up the following morning, you turn over in bed to find it empty beside you. Climbing out of bed, you head down the hallway when you stop past Tommy’s bedroom. Fast asleep in the rocking chair with Tommy passed on top of him and the book open on his lap, Jake is there, his head resting on top of Tommy’s. His glasses still rest on the brim of his nose.
Quietly walking over, you pull Tommy from off of Jake and carry him over to the bed. Once you have tucked in for a couple more hours of sleep, you go back over to Jake and gently remove his glasses and set them on the table and you take the book and close it and place it beside his glasses.
Softly you wake him up. His eyes flutter open and he picks up his head. He looks at you, confusion clouding his eyes. “What?” He moans as he stretches.
You giggle and brush his hair out from in front of his face. “You fell asleep with Tommy.” You say as you help him stand from the chair.
“I had the weirdest dream..” He mumbles as you guide him out of Tommy’s bedroom and down the hall to your own.
“And what was this dream about?” You inquire as you help him undress.
“Sammy was floating in the air tied to a million balloons.”
You giggle at the image forming in your head. Getting him dressed in more comfortable clothes, you help him into bed and cuddle close to him.
“Who knew that reading Winnie-the-Pooh would give such eccentric dreams..” He mumbles as he curls his body around you and slowly falls back in his slumber.
