#tbh over years we’ve had SO many moments where we were like oh yeah so louis is bringing F up and they’re ramping it up again to end it#so so many times some of which are even more recent like the walls era#so i’ve been repeatedly saying that i’d like to think that’s what they’re doing now with the interviews#and i can guess a few scenarios as to how they’d go about it all now (although i did expect them to keep eleanor around at least for a#while after bbg ends so i’m really curious to see how they’re going to work with that one#+ what’s going to happen with it in general bc last time i checked she was still following him)#so i’m really keeping my expectations low because we literally have been there#but there is sth happening for sure and i want so desperately to think it’s good#the checkered outfits of HL that were complementary as well and we even predicted it are sending me#(also they seem really in tune with the fandom rn and idk if these are coincidences but it’s fun)#the way they’ve both been so happy especially since the time around Amsterdam:) is sending me as well#like they both have been glowing recently and louis wore blue sun and the postshow song was a thousand years today like???? ok you sap#and the interviews and pap pics were so weird and i still dont know whether i’m sold on it being only bc of the tickets#so anyway i do think sth is happening and i am sideeyeing the august 4 date a bit more intensely now skmsk#or well the 7s lately i have also been thinking about the 7s sksmsk#but it will be interesting to see what happens#(and whether anything at all#but i think it will at least in connection to E because that’s hardly a glitch)#and i really really am wishing hoping praying for the best despite having been in this situation so many times because#he deserves to start off lt2 promo with a clean slate so much

Communication and a Question for the Fandom
I started this off thinking I would end up with one conclusion and I actually found myself changing it by the end. I’ve read a lot frustration with the ineffable husbands and their lack of communication. “You don’t ever talk to each other" and "You never say what you’re really thinking.”
Now, that may be true. But also, throughout both seasons, we have seen repeatedly how they have been under surveillance too.
Not just visual
But audio as well… Sign in Hell: Be Careful What You Say. But there’s more to the sign itself. I just can’t make it out. It’s not a sign that’s featured in the extras either, which is also interesting.
What I could find though, in the The Devil in the Details X-Ray video was a little more of the sign, but I still can’t make out what the rest of it says:
Which brings in my Question for the Fandom. If anyone else is able to make out rest of this, I’d be interested. (This was around the 2:05 timestamp)
Moving on, that’s not the only *Clue* about their surveillance either. We know about Hell using electronics as a means of communication. They just cut in to whatever happens to be playing at the time, right? Radio, tv, Saturday Morning Funtime… so it would make sense that they’d use it to listen too. Is the Bookshop any safer, being an embassy for Heaven and all?
And it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how either side is listening in. We all remember this interaction but really… played as a joke but what if it wasn’t? Or maybe they just hadn’t figured out the specifics yet at that point.
Maybe there are certain “trigger words.” We see the reactions when Crowley is called “nice.”
Crowley tells Aziraphale to “shut up” numerous times. We hear both them say “don’t say that” a lot.
But also…
Closed captioning capitalized it just like that. Interesting. (If you haven’t watched the show with cc on, I recommend it)
What does this all mean? They just don’t talk to each other? Well, no. Not necessarily. We’ve also seen them find ways around directly speaking too.
Writing it down. (Which was promptly burned)
Aziraphale mouthing “Trust Me” during the bullet catch. Could they have had other short hands or code words? Emergency contingency plans? I personally imagine so. Side note: could they have also been using alcohol (laudanum) as cover for plausible deniability?
“Safe spaces”? The backroom in the Bookshop that they kept going to for private conversations. We know they had alternative rendezvous locations in the first season too – the old bandstand, the number 19 bus, and the British Museum café.
The Final Fifteen. I don’t want to take away from the emotion of the scene and I think Season 3 (come on Prime!) give us the rest of the story. I have faith in Neil Gaiman (pun sort of intended). But I will propose that the kiss may have been not only Crowley’s plead but also a misdirect or signal or other way to communicate between the two that we have yet to understand. In the end, Aziraphale was able to get the Metatron to break and divulge that the next step of the Great Plan was the Second Coming…before even leaving Earth…which was pretty impressive in itself. Was Aziraphale then able to relay anything to Crowley before the elevator? Sendarya’s video here does a great job with that very question (and others).
Most experts agree that 70-93% of communication is nonverbal and when communicating emotions, applying the 7-38-55 rule. Meaning only 7% through spoken word, 38% tone of voice, and 55% through body language. So maybe they’re not doing so bad after all. Those are just my thoughts and we’ll just have to wait and see and hope.

Headcannoms about friendship between Bickslow and Gray? I like to think after the fighting festival he really tries to make it up to Gray.

* they bonded over it and talked about it in public and terrified about 20 people rhat were in earshot

Guess it’s time I tackled this, huh? I’m late to the party!
Short answer: I love the game AND the Shadow/Amy interactions! They’re wonderful! I’ll be putting spoilers under the cut. If you haven’t played it yet, I’d definitely recommend it. Great art, great story, fun gameplay. It’s free on Steam and it’ll probably only take you a few hours, so there’s nothing to lose!
I never would have thought to make a Sonic murder mystery game, but it fits super well. The characters are really well-written. It’s been a long time since I played a Sonic game and felt everyone was portrayed well. I wasn’t even fully satisfied with Frontiers in that regard tbh, but this game nailed all of them. It helps that with Sonic being, uh...preoccupied, we get to see side characters interacting with each other for once. Blaze conspiring with Rouge? Yes, please! Knuckles throwing a fit when he loses to Vector in a video game? Wonderful!
But Shadamy is the standout. I couldn’t be happier with how these two were handled! This is exactly the kind of Shadow/Amy interaction I’ve waited years for, and I know I’m not alone in that. Some people have started shipping them because of this game!
I think what I like most about it is that this is the exact pattern I often use when I write them falling in love. He does something really sweet and dedicated for her...
...makes bad excuses to try and downplay it...

He remembers something about Amy and goes to the trouble of doing something nice for her even if he has to embarrass himself in the process, something he wouldn’t be caught dead doing for anyone else...
She sees right through his excuses because she knows how sweet he is. She literally stutters and blushes. Just look how smitten she is!
...and then she asks him out because she wants to spend more time with him.
Sure, she’s probably thinking of it platonically, but it’s worth noting that this is the exact approach she’s taken to try to get dates in the past.

If she wants to spend time with a love interest someone, she’ll make it happen, regardless of their hesitation.
And he agrees. He hesitates either because it’s a boy band or maybe because concerts aren’t his thing, but he says yes because it’s her. The proof is right there: he goes through all this for her specifically. He dresses up in a glorified Starbucks outfit--let’s be real, we were all thinking it--joins in for a silly game, something that’s been out of character for him since the beginning...
and agrees to go to a party despite repeatedly rejecting invitations to such things in the past. Rouge makes it clear that’s the norm:
And even when he shows up to Sonic’s birthday, he’s late and ignores everyone, including Sonic himself:
But he goes to Amy’s birthday, makes sure to get her a thoughtful gift, and even socializes with the others. He’s in a pretty good mood, even showing an unusual amount of patience while she’s accusing him.
He doesn’t snap back at her or anything the way he normally would with others. How many people could get away with interrupting Shadow the hedgehog without getting an earful? He really is more patient with her than he is with anyone else.
Shadow’s a blunt, stubborn guy, and he won’t agree to something if he doesn’t want to. But he’ll go to a crowded boy band concert because Amy’s just worth it to him. Different rules for Amy. And if he keeps it up, she’s bound to notice.
That’s how I write them, at least, and now it’s in a semi-official Sonic game, too. I couldn’t be happier. <3
Hopefully Sega will see the positive response and put these two together more often; people really loved this, regardless of who they ship. Platonic or otherwise, I’d love to see more.
Either way, rest assured that this interaction will be finding its way into headcanons here and there from now on. And I may or may not have a proper story in the works for it 👀
Oh, and the kicker?
Tails totally ships it. He didn’t have to wink like that, but he sees what’s up. He’s a clever kid. That’s another point for the “Tails is on Team Amy” trend, and more fuel for the Everyone Ships Shadamy tag.

I was wondering what the diagnosis process looked like for you in regards to me/cfs? What tests were done? (Only asking because I suspect I may have it, however my general doctor got my blood drawn (even though there are no known tests to diagnose cfs/me), and tests results came back normal. They blamed it on my medications, but I've been experiencing the symptoms way before I took the medications.)
Now I'm having to call and ask them what I'm supposed to do, since I'm struggling.
Have you struggled getting an evaluation?
How did you make others believe and advocate for you?

hello there. i’m sorry you’ve been struggling and that your healthcare has been lacklustre! this post is going to be long so strap in <3
the diagnosis process varies from doctor to doctor. tbh many doctors are reluctant to consider ME even if it’s a severe case or a very classic case because they generally aren’t taught how to recognise it. it can be helpful to send your doctor links to official resources so they have a framework for helping you. if i were you, I’d look up the official guidelines for suspecting ME/CFS in your country and either send a link to your doctor or print them out. most doctors i meet will admit to my face that they haven’t read the guidelines for ME, so basically they’re not informed on suspecting, diagnosing, or treating it. in the UK where I live, the NICE guidelines explain the steps that should be taken if ME is suspected.
ME/CFS is a diagnosis of exclusion, so basically they do standard tests (like blood tests) first to make sure your symptoms aren’t caused by any other condition. once they’ve ruled out other causes, they see if you meet the ME/CFS criteria they use in your area. (in theory, diagnosis should take 3-6 months, but a lot of docs take a ‘wait and see’ approach instead, which can sometimes last years. personally i don’t think a ‘wait and see’ approach is appropriate, especially if you’re young. you may have to be assertive and ask multiple times to be evaluated. bear in mind it’s the system failing, not you.) the way they decide if you meet the criteria is by discussing your symptom history, which might take a few appointments. the best way to advocate for yourself is to bring another person to back you up (sorry to say this but statistically, it helps if it’s a male family member), to have a list of your symptoms and a timeline written down, and to be clear about the practical ways that your symptoms impact your life. i.e. “it takes me (x amount of time) to recover from going on a short walk. this symptom gets worse (x amount of time) after i do a particular activity and lasts (x days). i can no longer do x activity at all because of my symptoms. I’ve tried x y and z and it hasn’t improved my symptoms. I want to get my quality of life back.”
I don’t remember my diagnosis process very well. i had major symptoms for several years before ME was even considered, i was repeatedly brushed off and told my symptoms were from my autism even though that doesn’t add up. interestingly i was given treatments before I had a diagnosis. then i had a ‘working diagnosis’ of ME in my teens, which is where they think you probably have something but they don’t put it in your file till they’re sure. i’ve had a proper diagnosis on my file for years now, but i don’t know when it got there or who put it there. (??) the diagnosis process can be kinda weird. mine took forever but i know other people who were diagnosed quickly and efficiently, so it’s not impossible.
personally i had a lot of random tests, blood tests to CT scans to x rays, basically any test that was related to my symptoms (like a head MRI for headaches). i do actually have other conditions which show up on tests (like scoliosis), but since scoliosis cannot possibly be causing my specific pattern of exertion-related symptoms, i still got diagnosed with ME. having another condition or having medication side effects does not mean you can’t also have ME! especially if your symptoms started before you took the meds, like you said.

Even without saying it, people love to think that they’re freethinkers and aren’t susceptible to propaganda.
A few months ago, there was this viral conversation where people swear they wouldn’t be indoctrinated into a cult.
This Johnny Depp situation proved without a doubt that 1. Many aren’t “freethinkers” 2. They are incredibly susceptible to propaganda 3. They would most likely be wrapped up in a cult given the right circumstances.
Especially when it’s concerning how much society hates women. Many Depp defenders mock people who talk about misogyny, but think about this:
Amber’s both accused of being a good actress, it’s implied and being a shitty actress. It’s asked why she doesn’t have evidence and people are suspicious when she does have evidence. People ask why she didn’t leave, yet don’t ask why Johnny didn’t leave. They that claim whatever Johnny did was to protect himself/in self defense/because Amber deserved it, but whatever Amber did was because she’s abusive. People claim that Amber has been contradictory and caught lying, yet conveniently overlooks the times Johnny has been caught lying and was contradictory. When Amber’s ex defends her it’s “some abuse victims still protect their abusers”, yet any ex who defends Johnny doesn’t have that same logic leveled at them.
Every line of thought leans towards proving Johnny’s innocence and shedding a light on Amber’s guilt.
It’s both telling and troubling that Amber is repeatedly called a cunt, bitch, devious, gold digging, crazy, and other loaded terms, esp when directed towards women. This seems to be okayed because she allegedly abused Johnny, which is ironic because John y didn’t get nearly a tenth of loaded language when these same people believed he was an abuser. They were silent and didn’t comment. They didn’t vocalize their disappointment even though they believed Amber. It just wasn’t worth speaking out about, yet their vocal against Amber, have harassed her, and actively trying to destroy her career. It must be noted, they didn’t do this with Johnny. Although the Sun called him a wife beater and there was some outcry, it wasn’t nearly the same as what’s going on now.
I’ll be completely honest: when Amber first got with/married Johnny, I had some internalized misogyny. I thought she was using him. I had some goodwill towards Johnny because I enjoyed his movies and brands.
However, in the back of my mind, I did remember the unsavory things I’d heard about him over the years. The red flags and suspect behavior that I’d been aware of. Because after she cited domestic abuse during their divorce filings, I believed her. So, no, I’ve never been a stan of Amber. I was actually biased against her when they got together. Despite believing her, I didn’t become a fan or deliberately consume her work. I didn’t keep up with her before the allegations, so why would I now bc she’s a victim of DV. But I did support her.
Here’s the thing that Depp supporters ignore: Johnny had HER sign TWO NDAs to proceed forth with the divorce. One of them prevented her from talking about his finances and the other prevented her from talking about his behavior during their marriage.
If Johnny was so innocent and did nothing wrong, why would he make Amber sign a NDA preventing her from talking about HIS behavior. His behavior comes off more controlling and abusive as a result. Why would an abuse victim hold up divorce proceedings to force someone to sign not one, but two NDAs. It’s possible that abuse victims have done this to protect themselves, however, Johnny appears to be operating from a position of power NOT Amber.
And Johnny was the one who broke the NDAs that he forced her to sign via his GQ article, which triggered her op-ed. I’m not going to get caught up in her not naming him in the piece because she flat out said that the reason she was writing this was due to harassment because she came out about her abuse. Even before people thought Johnny was being abused, they harassed Amber. They claimed that she said he abused her to get back at him even though SHE filed for divorce and, according to the narrative, he didn’t leave her due to his background as a child who grew up in an abusive home. So what exactly is she getting back at him for?
I don’t know how old or young some of y’all are or if y’all keep up with celebrity news. Not necessarily gossip, but it can lean that way. I’m 30 and I’ve casually consumed celebrity news.
Despite this recent campaign about Johnny being this sweet cinnamon roll who’d never hurt a fly, he has never been known for this throughout tenure in Hollywood. Johnny was known as quirky and private, but his career has been littered with problematic behavior that even includes violence. This isn’t new info. This isn’t Amber’s team putting this out there, this has always existed.
Before Johnny sued the Sun, I believe The Hollywood Reporter detailed Johnny turbulent history, esp as a working professional in Hollywood and how he derailed his own career. If you think rape, abuse, and hell, even pedophilia gets you blackballed in Hollywood, then you aren’t paying attention. Bill Cosby was a well known rapist—for decades. Sean Penn kept working in Hollywood despite being a well known abuser. There was a writer, executive producer, and creator who was a known pedophile or believed to be one that worker a Nickelodeon.
So the idea that Johnny lost roles due to Amber is ridiculous. The more famous you are, the more you’re protected from the consequences of your behavior. Hell, Kevin Spacey was probably on taken down because he’s a gay man. Not saying he didn’t deserve it, but how many straight musicians were and are known to have gotten involved with underaged girls??? And are still loved and praised to this day.
We can cite #MeToo all day, but Johnny’s career didn’t suffer due to that. Again, read the Hollywood reporter article. Once you burn bridges with people who get you roles and paid and start suing everyone, that’s when you start losing roles. Compound this with Johnny largely being in box office bombs outside of pirates of the Caribbean. Even then he was a massive liability on set due to being drunk, high, hours later, abusive behavior, etc.

The WB told Johnny and Amber to keep a low profile. Amber kept her head low. You largely didn’t hear about her outside other Aquaman and incels trying to get her fired. Johnny, on the other hand, sued the Sun for libel and fucking lost, which is notoriously hard to do in his position. It is incredibly difficult for a newspaper to take that to trial and fucking WIN.
Johnny’s public case and LOSING is why he was asked to step down NOT him being accused of DV. Keep in mind, he initiated this case. People will claim it’s due to clearing his name, but besides occasional rumblings, no one was really talking about him being an abuser. You have the Sun and a Twitter boycott, then you have Rowling DEFENDING keeping Johnny employed. Johnny showing his ass is why the WB went over her head and mutually parted with Johnny.
One of the reasons I know this case is about how much people hate women is because, for most of his defenders, if y’all read any of those texts he wrote about Amber, how he spoke to her, and how he treated her, y’all was yelling fucking RUN. Y’all would beg for her to leave him. His text messages are one of those red flags featured in the murder podcasts. If y’all think that is how men talk to one another, why do y’all find it okay? He said he would burn her fucking corpse, and then rape it to make sure she is dead. This was BEFORE they got married. He also later said he’d drown her. Or that he’d buy her a beaver and save it so that a degrading headline would run about her and this was all for shits and giggles.

This is not to say that some victim don’t wish harm on their abusers because many do, however, when looking at that language, does it come off as a victim or as an abuser?
Remember I mentioned that contradiction? Johnny is on record as calling his ex partner Vanessa a cunt and I believe he positioned it as if she tried to poison them against him. This is the second and not even the last woman on record that he’s spoken about derogatively and with misogynistic language. For someone so innocent, pure, and kind he sure how a problematic way of discussing women, which isn’t seen as troubling at all.
Then Johnny said that his kids LOVED Amber. Now I’m sincerely saying this, but didn’t he say that his kids never liked Amber???
Like, what’s the truth here.
Because that is a contradictory statement.
It wasn’t “their feelings towards her changed” or “the relationship broke down.” It’s “they didn’t like her so they didn’t come to my wedding for her.”
Let’s discuss the texts where he said he wanted to “globally” humiliate Amber and punish her. Not get justice, truth, or clearing his name, he wanted to humiliate her. Does that sound like a victim or an abuser. As a reminder, he was the one who, once again, initiated this suit. Amber largely hasn’t talked about him outside of the op-Ed and has kept her head down. Outside of the divorce proceedings, she’s largely been reacting to him. Hell, he doesn’t even talk or imply that he’s a victim or her being an abuser.

Does none of his supporters find it suspicious that Johnny’s lawyer is tied to the Russians. Like, seriously, look into that. Why would Johnny employ it connect to employ such a person? And that he employs a person and/or company that runs bot farms.
Is that not suspicious at all???
Many people have mentioned despite never keeping up with Johnny(including Amber) or the case, they can’t avoid this case. Usually when this happens it’s due to the algorithm being tampered with aka bots and paid advertisements. You know the same thing that happened during the 2016 election?
Y’all don’t see the similarities or that blatant connections with people on Johnny’s payroll? The conspiracy that the judge was in her pocket somehow in the UK. Hell, y’all even believe the therapist who is not licensed to diagnose mental disorders, despite her having dinner with Johnny at his home before she testified on his behalf. I even believe her process in diagnosing Amber is/was problematic.
People are obsessing over ambers behavior and micro analyzing her every move to prove she’s not a victim bc “victims don’t do x y z”, yet they cast a blind eye to Johnny.
This doesn’t even touch on the BLATANT misinformation and lies told on amber to “prove” she’s lying, is acting, and is not a victim. And that bullshit about her doing coke on the stand. Are y’all fucking serious?
Many of y’all don’t even understand how trials work either. Y’all think the most basic shit that every fucking lawyer does when going to trial was created to trick and trap Johnny and is someone conspiracy.
Let me let y’all in on an open secret: Johnny is most likely going to lose this case. Why? Because the evidence does stack up against him. And, guess what, he doesn’t care. Because this was never about winning the case and only about humiliating Amber. If you’re thinking, “good”, you’ve gone too far done the rabbit hole and need to ask yourself why you’re okay with a rich white man using the legal system and wasting everyone’s time to humiliate one person. There are resources being used for their case that could be used for someone who actually needs it. And I don’t want to hear about “white women’s tears.” While they definitely exist, a rich white woman doesn’t have more power than a rich white man, full stop.
Case in point, Trump, Brent Kavannaugh, Brock Turner aka Stanford rapist. And I’ve already established that Hollywood doesn’t care about abuse and problematic behaviors.
You think this rich where man who’s gotten away with shit all of his life is being brought down by a rich white woman with not even a fraction of his influence, power, and money?

There are several credible pieces of evidence as well as witnesses. Johnny’s ex, Winona Ryder, initially was going to testify on Johnny’s behave, but after the findings of the UK case came out, she blocked her testimony from being used. Even her public statement simply says, “he’s never abused me, but I can’t say he didn’t abuse her.” And, what’s telling about her statement is that she clearly believes that you’re only abused when you’re hit. When you look into their relationship, he never hit her, but used to throw and slam shit, which she remarked on years before he got with Amber.
Male abuse is an important discussion to have, however, it’s troubling that so many are dying on this particular hill for a man with a history of violence. Furthermore, as for his finger being sliced, Jerry bruckheimer, someone who has worked with Johnny for 20 years or so, has repeatedly statement absent of the ongoing saga between Johnny and Amber, that Johnny injured his own finger. As far as her shitting in the bed goes, if y’all actually read the case and transcript, Johnny wasn’t staying at their place and it happened in Amber’s bed by the dog that was known to have intestinal issues. Furthermore, Johnny has expressed to others the desire to shit on the floor or bed as a “joke.” Even going as far as to blaming the dog—there are text messages that support this. In this case, it actually did happen, the dog shitting. But Amber didn’t shit in the bed and blame the dog.
Many of y’all have been sucked in by viral memes, tampered with evidence, misinformation, and love of an actor yall only hear about through breaking news stories.

I find this discussion kinda hypocritical coming from anyone in the fanfic community. A community that in the last several years has continuously put more and more content behind paywalls like Patreon for a similar amount, of commissions. When the entire point of fanfic has always been about a free and inclusive community. And when those of us that even have the nerve to say hey, why are we paying for fics this doesn’t seem right. Were told to shut up and support artists or don’t bother commenting. At least what Shane/Ryan are doing is an original idea, and has a business to support. That’s their main source of income. I’d be more likely to pay for their content than fanfic. So if you view what Ryan and Shane are doing as a money grab, you have to extend that same energy to authors who are making money off of fanfic
hmmmmmm okay! i can sort of see where you’re coming from with this. here’s where i disagree.
first: they ARE making money already. they make money off of YouTube ads and sponsor deals and any of the other ways YouTubers have been making money for years. fanfic can’t be monetized in that way- we don’t get money from ads on tumblr, and god knows there’s no ads on ao3. you could maybe say the money they make on youtube isn’t enough, or that they’re trying to grow the company, except that they stated in their own video that they’ve hired 25 people as the company grew. and from their personal instagrams and the things they talk about doing, money doesn’t seem to be a struggle for them. who knows, maybe it is- i’m unaware of their personal lives. but THAT’S where i’m coming from when i call it a money grab.
second: when we talk about fanfic writers putting things behind paywalls, at least from what I’ve seen, it’s almost never all of their content! it’s, as you said, things like commissions, which are reserved for when someone has a specific request for a specific story. as a writer, requests are HARD! others might reserve specific content for things like a patreon. which is something i’m pretty sure watcher was already doing?? & i support that method whole heartedly. i think it’s a great model. i’ll admit that a lot of my feelings on it earlier were based on the statement that they would be pulling all of their old content from YouTube, which they have since retracted (but it WAS in the original variety article). that part felt like a huge money grab to me. content that we have watched for years and supported (& in the case of shows like too many spirits, been a part of) was set to be put behind a paywall when it wasn’t originally. it rubbed me the wrong way.
third: this is just my opinion on the situation! you’re entitled to yours too! but i’m sort of unsure why you’re bringing it to me specifically- I’ve never had a patreon/ko-fi or anything like that. i fully support authors who do! fanfic can take some serious work & some people out here create wonderful masterpieces & i cannot blame them for asking to be compensated for it. the recent conversation i’ve seen around patreon etc for fic has come out of having works repeatedly stolen and reposted, which is NEVER okay. also! there’s a cost of living crisis. things are tough for a lot of people right now. we are making ends meet however we can. the guys at watcher, frankly, don’t seem to have that issue.
i’m finding myself really frustrated by the sentence “at least what Shane/ryan are doing is an original idea”- maybe i’m reading too much into the tone here, it’s hard to tell over the internet. but that feels a little rude to fic writers, honestly. there is plenty of fanfic out there that consists of original ideas, and this feels like a bit of a slap in the face to include here.
idk. i’m frustrated by this ask bc i try very hard to create a inclusive place here on tumblr, and i see a TON of my fellow creators on here doing the same. i can understand that we have different opinions on this, but i hope you can understand where i’m coming from too when i say parts of this ask felt unnecessarily mean spirited towards fic writers. i really have loved the content watcher has put out- and i feel i’m a bit of an outlier, here, when i say this goes for all three of the guys: Ryan, Shane, and Steven. but right now i’m feeling not thrilled about the whole thing.

The Long Awaited Team Nathan Receipts
The majority of the repugnant behavior from When Calls The Heart fans that I’ve shown on this blog comes from the Hearties that are Team Lucas/Lucabeth fans. I’ve shown several images of people justifying this terrible behavior because “Team Nathan fans acted the same way” without ever showing proof.
Like this for example. Posted literally a few hours ago.
That is until today when one Lucabeth Heartie finally delivered the receipts, showing the equally abhorrent behavior that Team Nathan fans showed years ago which will totally excuse everything Lucabeth fans have said this year and help us to truly understand where they’re coming from.
WCTH fan Fleu to the rescue. I’m sure these are going to be good.
…The hashtags are cringey as Hell and definitely something Team Lucas fans have appropriated, but this reads like more of a light-hearted joke. Come on Fleu. As the kids say “DO👏 BETTER👏”
Now we’re getting there. This reads a lot like the temper tantrums Lucabeth fans are throwing right now. Right down to the “Elizabeth has become horrible. The show’s really lost its values”. They even tagged one of the actors.
I’d really like to hear Team Lucas and Team Nathan fans explain why Elizabeth’s actions when she picked one man made her horrible, but when she picked the other man they made her good. What’s the difference? I know the answer just comes down to “the actor I think is hot is the righteous choice” but I’m curious what backwards logic they tell themselves to explain why they aren’t hypocrites.
…okay, yeah. Still cringey and still the same shit-flinging antics we’ve seen from Team Lucas fans, but I’m not seeing anyone downplay war crimes hours after they happen, then scream that they’re being bullied and “tone policed��� or repeatedly go to the actor’s Instagram pages and call them slurs and tell them they’re going to Hell on every photo. Where are the Team Nathan fans harassing Erin and saying that she ruined their life? Where’s the Team Nathan fans saying that Erin’s “ugly” boyfriend “It” is the reason the show ended up the way it did?
It’s the same person talking about giving low scores to episodes on imdb. Don’t get me wrong, this looks incredibly stupid and petty and anyone caught doing this should be shamed, but surely more than one person did this.
Now we’re back on track. Angry Hearties really do sound like a broken record. At this point you can just make pre-written Rage!posts and let them fill in whatever name they want. Not an original thought or well-articulated argument to be seen.

This is going to sound mean, but it’s true, so I don’t care. A lot of pissed off Hearties love calling the cast ugly whenever the show doesn’t go the way they want it to.
I’ve seen a lot of photos of you people, especially when the Hearties Family Reunion happens. There is not one of you that should be calling anyone or anything ugly. If this was Sparta, you’d be thrown off the cliffs. Defective does not even begin to describe the genetics I’ve seen in some of you people. If you’re going to make asses of yourself online, some self-awareness would do you good.
Oh my God! The only thing dumber than caring about imdb ratings is obsessively messing with them because the woman on TV you project yourself onto didn’t pick the hot guy you will never have in real life.
So… yeah. Team Nathan fans have indeed embarrassed themselves online. But I’ve still yet to see it done to the level of what’s been shown on here.
But that’s not the point. “They acted like grotesque sub-humans, so it’s okay if I do it” isn’t the winning argument you think it is. If your children (and God help any children these fans might have spawned) behaved that way, I doubt you’d allow it. It’s embarrassing to see a child act this way, it’s 10x worse to see middle aged women do it. You people complain about the show “losing its values” every season, what does Jesus have to say about your behavior?

Do you believe that the Israeli children murdered are culpable for the crimes of their government?
I think we both agree that Palestinian children and Palestinian civilians are not valid military targets, despite what Netanyahu and the Israeli government may claim, but do you believe the same applies to children who are being raised in Israel?

but to entertain the question(s) in full:
I’ve overstated how much I believe children should never be victims & sexual violence is also never excused. I’d never stand & advocate for the lives of Palestinian (& Syrian & Congolese & Sudanese & Armenian & Puerto Rican & Polynesian &&&&) children whilst simultaneously wishing unwell on another group of children.
But there’s a lot of things I hate about this framing & it’s that first and foremost, the children are not the only ones that matter here. What good is saving the children if they’re stripped of the elders of their family? What good is sparing the life of a disabled Palestinian girl in Gaza being wheeled from the North to the South by her father if you’re going to arrest her father and leave her stranded to be saved by other passer-bys? What good is saving the children if they’re wishing they died along their parents?
Second, not only are the civilians not valid military targets, they’re not targets at all. None of them deserve to suffer. None of them deserve to bury their dead in mass graves. None of them deserve to be killed whilst seeking shelter in schools, hospitals, mosques, churches, etc. None of them deserve to starve for days on end & no water in sight. None of them deserve to watch their mass graves dug up and over 100+ of their loved ones’ bodies being taken away by israeli forces to god knows where (likely the skin bank, where they harvest Palestinian organs for their own). They deserve none of it. Hamas could be in every damn room in every damn building and it still could never justify anything, let alone being military targets.
Third, it should shame you by now to STILL shift the narrative to israel & israelis whilst discussing Gaza or Palestine. Enough already. It’s been 41 days. We’ve condemned enough. The conversation cannot be redirected to straw-man arguments & questions meant to what? Pull out a scandalous answer? Was I expected to say yes I see the kids as military targets? What’s your next step knowing my answer is no?
Finally, the government lied. The israeli government has lied repeatedly. They’ve been putting out numbers of their victims ranging from 1200-1500 and just announced today that they’ve overstated how many of them died because it turns out 200 of those bodies were bodies of Palestinians. Which begs the question, if they were so torched and barely recognizable, who did the torching? Why did they silence the interview of one of the survivors as she says that the IOF were largely responsible for the death of multitudes? Why is it they’re interviewing soldiers who were on duty that day who’ve said their orders were to target anything that moved? An israeli plan was mass killing everyone at the music festival because the orders were to go for anything that moved.
Mere days after the initial invasion/“attack”, one of the women who was held in her home with her children went on an interview and said they didn’t harm them at all. They stayed for two hours, one even politely asking for a banana, before quietly shutting the door behind them. Her youngest was so undisturbed they kept tapping away on their tablet. Hamas may not be complete angels, but they’re not barbarians. They’re not savages. Children would never be their main targets, nor targets at all. Any dead children were either caught in a crossfire or much more likely killed by the IOF.
I reject the narrative that I, or anyone else in defense of Palestine, agree with the death of children (no matter who they are). I reject the idea that I, or anyone else in defense of Palestine, would be okay with acts of sexual violence being committed to anyone. And I refuse to cover up the atrocities happening in Palestine with any sympathies you expect me to extend to israel.
Children should never be victims. Including Palestinian children. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

I have been seeing lots of art this weekend + I’m also going to see a traveling show I’m in today so I am filtering all my thoughts here. I’ll try to provide context. This is long.
So in order to deal with all my issues I have a very odd way of dealing with my self esteem. I do this thing where I find myself and my life disgusting and I love myself despite it. I don’t expect anything from other people, I am so internally confident in myself that other people’s lack of care/negative emotions are functionally irrelevant to me. It’s always a nice surprise when people do like me despite everything! Obviously this applies to my art, as my art is an extension of myself. My art is equally as disgusting as I am, and my current work literally is, as I’ve decided fuck it I’m going to be as true to myself and my interests as humanly possible. I like my art, and I am confident enough in my technical skills, so if I paint upsetting little girls 24/7 it’s not my problem if others can’t stand the content. They’re well constructed paintings.
So. A show I was in with some friends at school traveled to this mansion where rich people hold benefit events and we were allowed to sell our works with an extremely small commission to the venue. Like 15% which is unheard of even nonprofit galleries take 30-40%. I did not put my pieces up for sale. Why bother, when I don’t think others would even be interested? When I said this to my friend after the show had already gone up, his eyes bugged out of his head. He hadn’t priced anything less than $1000.
I’d previously spoken to a professor about selling clamgina, which I’d never wanted to sell, or even thought would sell because it’s my vagina with snails eating it alive, but I want to submit it to a show I was invited to in NY and work being for sale is part of the requirement. I had said something like “yeah I’ll just price it high and hope no one buys it” She laughed and was like “of course someone will buy it!” And I was kind of confused. Also, pricing it high was like. $800 in my mind.
There was another time too, where I was talking to the senior who has gallery rep at my school and he was looking at a current piece and asking me questions and we got on the topic of galleries. And I literally said to him. Yeah I don’t think my work is commercially viable. I don’t think it’s gonna sell. He looked at me like I had 5 heads and I was like. Hm well maybe I’m wrong I’m sure there’s a niche audience. I went to his show on Friday and he had a painting up that was going for $6000.
All of this to say I think that filtering my work through my weird self esteem coping mechanism is like shooting myself in the foot repeatedly until there’s literally nothing left it’s just a stump and I’m bleeding out. What am I doing to myself. My peers who I’m (roughly) on the same level as clearly see some kind of value in my work that is equal to their own, even if the art I make is not to their personal taste. I could literally start building my post grad life right now with that kind of money. Oh my god. I think I’ve internalized the Franz Kafka but a girl who paints thing a little too hard.

I’ve had a feeling this was coming. The combination of Matty repeatedly making a point to tell us they aren’t going anywhere, Jamie stressing that this is the last set of shows for a while, and Adams ATPOAIM episode is what did it for me. I couldn’t imagine them jumping right back into another album cycle after the year they’ve had, either. I didn’t even expect this second leg on tour.
It’s heartbreaking to hear confirmation, but besides COVID, they’ve been going nonstop for a decade. Longer breaks just seem inevitable as they get older.
He says a lot of stuff that doesn’t come to pass (he also said they’d take a long break after Notes which didn’t pan out), but he also speaks very deliberately. He seemed nervous when he said it, and the vibe shifted majorly, he knows the weight those words hold. Maybe they’ll make a return in 2025 or 2026 instead of the usual two year cycle.
Anyways, I’m hoping this means his solo project sees the light of day.
Yeah I think you’re right. It’s been a wild ride, the album cycle, right? With everything that’s happened, coming back from Covid and all.
I was talking to @abiiors about this, and, we were saying how this might be a similar thing to what ended up happening with the Arctic Monkeys. There were a few years when they paused. As their families and personal lives grew. And we got TLSP in the meantime. You know?
And, like, let me make a disclaim rn cuz some of y’all in my asks and dms need to fuckin chill. Im NOT saying I don’t want the boys to rest. They SHOULD. It made sense for them to operate the way that they’ve been operating for the past decade because they were establishing a career. They were practically children. From Drive Like I do, to The EPs. By the time ST was a thing they were like 23. They’re grown men in their mid 30s now. Mentally, socially, physically, their lives look very different. They’ve been in serious relationships now. Baby boy Hann is growing up and Hann has been on the road for most of these big important milestones as a father.
It just doesn’t make sense for them to keep going the way that they have been. Ross is now a producer. George has produced a bunch of other records. Matty’s broadened out and made friends with Phoebe and Jack Antonoff (who may or may not be his solo project producer). The boys are growing up. (That’s was going to be the subject of my ‘essay’ on BFIAFL btw. That’s why I’d called it ‘boys to men’ like as a pun on Boys II Men.) that means that their art and their jobs are going to grow and change as well. Slowing down is essential.
And while we’re on the subject, I don’t think that the way they’ve been going for the past 10 years is sustainable. It’s not right. Not healthy. You guys know how Matty always says “we create in the same way that we consume”? It’s true. Because of streaming, post-modernity, etc (especially post-Covid), our consumption of art and entertainment has changed. We have shorter cultural attention spans. A song that came out 6 months ago is already old news today. So, with Notes, Matty has talked about wanting to keep putting out records as long as he has something meaningful to say and as long as culture is hungry for more. And while that might sound like great news for us as fans cuz it just means that we’ll always have new content around the corner. But let’s step back from that for a moment, yes?
That’s not healthy for him. He has already worked himself to the bone over the past ten years. Even at his worst and darkest moments he was making music. And he’s a bit of a workaholic. Sure, he doesn’t have a family just yet, but that doesn’t mean he should do this to himself. Obviously, it’s his world and his life and if he feels okay to keep doing things a certain way, that’s his business. I’m just saying that as fans, our investment in the boys doesn’t begin and end with consumption and creation. I’m interested (as I’m sure many, if not all of us) in his health and sanity. I can cite endless examples of great artists from the past few decades who burnt out hard and crashed because they didn’t want to “waste the moment” or tried to capitalize on their fame when it hit peak levels. I’m personally really proud of Matty for doing this past year clean / off the drugs, and in tip top physical health. What I wish for him, whether he chooses to pursue it or not, is that he would give himself time to be bored. Stop and learn how to deal with the quietness of mundane everyday life. Cuz, that can fuck a person up. Sometimes, when you’re so used to the lifestyle that the boys have lived for the last 10 years, just going home and being with the people that you love feels like torture. And people easily start self-destructive habits to cope with that. I want him to learn all that on his own terms, you know?
My sincerest wish for him is that he will continue the tremendous growth that he’s shown over the last few years. By leaning even harder into the healthy habits that he seems to have established for himself mentally and physically. Not backtrack and fall on the old nonsense. But in order to be able to do one or the other he needs to actually HAVE TIME. We all know this is a real issue for him. That’s what fuckin RoadKill is about. “When I think I won’t die from stopping.” “Not really how babies get made,” etc. it would genuinely be healthy for him to feel like he’s gonna die from stopping and then learn that he won’t actually die.
So that he can come back and be creating from a place of security and mortal dread. To pick up a guitar/ pen/ whatever he uses to write because he wants to and he has something to say, not cuz if he doesn’t, he might go insane.
This is true for all of the boys, Ross is the other ostensibly single one whose immediate private life might feel quiet too. (For all we know. Like he might be in a serious relationship that’s not our business.) really this is true for all 4 of them. And of all the people who have loved and supported them over the past 10 years. This isn’t easy on family and loved ones and their live musicians and crew either.

For many of us, the 1975 has been the constant, comfort, strength, love, meaning etc. and it going away for however long that will be, is LEGITIMATELY A SAD THING. There is absolutely no reason to minimize or trivialize that pain. Or feel that you are selfish or don’t care about the boys, or any less of a fan, just because you find that having to imagine a future when SATVB isn’t on tomorrow or the day after, and we aren’t hyperfixating on or analyzing Matty’s cryptic speeches or thirsting after his torso extremely sad/ difficult/ bittersweet/ lonely/ scary. C’mon. Some people have been in this fandom since ST (not me), that’s their whole fuckin life, man!!!!! It IS sad. You SHOULD cry. ITS OKAY TO BE UPSET. and frankly anyone who makes people feel bad for that is a piece of shit.
Saying things like “oh they’ll be back.” “They’re not going anywhere.” “Matty will be chronically online” are all true BUT THEY DONT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THINGS ARE CHANGING. FOR GOOD. ITS OKAY TO FEEL HOWEVER YOU FEEL.
The boys are still around for the next few months. Let’s cherish them (and each other) while we still can. But imo this is not a silly subject and it’s okay to be upset.

Having been constantly beaten down and trampled repeatedly by reality, at some point, the spirit of a loser had seeped into us… We became good, obedient kids, no different than trained pets.
But no matter how hard we act like good kids, we’ll never “truly” be one.
If we instead tried to be like Crazy:B, and played the role of a baddie, we may not be able to fill those shoes in skill and substance…
But that’s still the path I want to take. I don’t want to keep fretting and going back and forth anymore, forever stuck in the middle.

So, the fact that we were born means that our mother wanted us. I’m sure she wished for us to live happily like normal human beings.

And, well… Wanting to live a happy life is human. I might just be making assumptions here, but any regular human being would want their kids to live with happiness.
I believe us being born alone is proof of that.
We were born with the wish that we would be happy. So I’ll fulfill that wish our mother dreamed of, even if I’m just relishing in a thought.
Being an idol is all about fulfilling other’s wishes.

(Re: the interpretations that DRUCK is using Mailin to criticize young leftist activists and suggest that they are like right-wing oppressors and their supporters.)
I never thought I’d live to see DRUCK become... conservative.
When shows take a stance, it often alienates some viewers. I’ve seen it in one-star Google Reviews complaining about the presence or perceived large amount of marginalized characters, so I would say that even “these groups deserve visibility on television” is a stance. The same happens when social and environmental issues are brought up, and I think for some, it’s not due to a preference for lighter or escapist entertainment, but a disagreement with the stance, even if, again, the stance is “this is an issue that exists and deserves awareness and criticism.”
DRUCK has repeatedly taken stances that were bound to alienate viewers, and I respect that they didn’t seem to soften them to prevent that. I often think about the fact that within their first minute of runtime, they're clear about not expecting supporters of certain governments to be in the audience. They’re like, “if you’re watching this, you obviously don’t support these people; if you do, the show isn’t for you.”
Jonas also says this,
which not only includes the word “redistribution,” which in my perception is the key word that makes this sound socialist, but is a call to action: Jonas encourages a fight for something. These elements make the statement stronger than the ones it’s adapted from. And this precedes the introduction of any character or event.
The show kept taking rather controversial stances through their progressive portrayals — some following OG, like having a gay main and a brown hijabi main, but also firsts in the SKAMverse. They had the first trans romantic interest, which I know alienated some viewers (dare I say good riddance?), and I remember reading about some superiors hesitating, to which the creators said that they would either do it that way or not at all. They created a pretty diverse original generation, including the first lesbian main, who is Black and neurodivergent, her Vietnamese bi romantic interest, and the only (I think?) non-binary character and main, who is also Turkish. They had a storyline criticizing a white character’s insensitive anti-racist activism and treatment of her Black friends, which I’m pretty sure is unique in the SKAMverse, which is wild, considering every SKAM (I think?) had a Vilde who could have been held accountable for her Islamophobia or another form of discrimination.
And really, they showed a considerable amount of activism. It was mainly off-screen or mentioned, but we know Jonas goes to protests and organized a fundraiser for the rescue of refugees at sea, and the Boy Squad and David prepared posters for a climate change protest. Even more recently, Ava and Mailin went to the vigil for Oury Jalloh. This was always portrayed as serious and positive, but now, young activists are shown as unhelpful and even... harmful.
Not to mention, the inconsistency 🤨 Where was this disapproval last season when Lou stole tampons and a bunch of students broke into the school without consequences? DRUCK supported youth activism, then depicted it as inappropriate, and in between supported inappropriate “activism.” As a viewer, what am I supposed to take away?

[1] - The theme Mitsuki has been given is “所谓的整顿”, but I couldn’t really find a suitable word to properly express “整顿” in English. The closest word I can think of is reorganizing, but Mitsuki later mentions that “整顿” can be applied to being in a sauna as well, so I figured that reorganizing wouldn’t be too suitable in the context of being in a sauna. Thus, I decided to go with cleansing instead of reorganizing. Do let me know if anyone who has the JP version of this rabbit chat knows of any better words to properly express Mitsuki’s theme, thank you!

Hi , So I’m a 14 year old girl and I kinda need help with manifesting my desires I know manifesting is easy I just feel like I make it hard with manifesting and my desires i do want to manifest is physical change by using pictures because I have trouble with using my imagination and I also want to manifest money inside my cashapp I just want to know if you can help me like tips
hi friend! so the first and foremost thing I’d like to say is the best tips are the ones that come from you. that may sound cheesy and may not be what you were hoping to hear, but the truth is only you can decide what works best for you. however, these are tips that have helped me personally, so I’ll share them with you in case any of them happen to resonate :)
1. Script and then Forget
this works best with desires I’m not severely attached to, but I’ve noticed some of my best work has come from writing down my manifestations and then forgetting about them as I go on about my life. I personally enjoy putting on my favorite subs, sitting quietly with maybe a nice candle burning nearby, and just writing down what I want and letting myself feel my desires in my soul. By the time I’m done, I typically feel satisfied and accomplished since I’ve repeatedly written down my affirmation enough times that I’ve cemented it into my brain. Then, I’ll rip up the page(s), toss them in the trash, and go on with my life. I try my best not to dwell and whenever I get antsy about my desires manifesting, I’ll gently remind myself I already have them because they’re written down, and I also do my best to make my present life enjoyable so I don’t think too hard on those desires either.
2. Daydream in the Dark
I know you said you have trouble with imagination, but there’s more than one way to imagine. You don’t necessarily have to visualize to imagine, you can just pretend and go over scenarios of your desires in your head and generally think about how life is for you now that you have them. For me, I often do this in bed with a sleeping mask on and some headphones while listening to subliminals, and I just let myself relax as I go through random scenarios of my desires and desired realities. This is the method that has gotten me to shift, astral project, and enter the void the most often. I recommend not putting pressure on yourself to do anything in particular i.e. shifting or entering the void state. Instead, I do it with the intention of relaxing and giving myself a quiet break at the end of a long day where I’m allowed to just be pure consciousness.
3. Repeating Affirmations
A tried but true method that I mainly use for changing my mindset and self concept, rather than shifting/manifesting. I think it’s important to practice self love and believe in yourself just as much as you’d want to believe in your desires. After all, they can’t exist without you, so why not give yourself the credit you deserve? I’ve been doing this daily and just repeatedly tell myself that I am God and that everything always works out for me. This has helped me tremendously, and has gone from something I mindlessly repeated halfheartedly to something that’s part of my daily routine because of how calm and accomplished it makes me feel. I’ve noticed as well that my luck and confidence has changed tremendously, as now I’m able to feel my true power and look past whatever the 3D reflects because my priorities now lie within all I create in the 4D. I recommend picking a few simple affirmations and repeating them whenever you feel down or like things aren’t going your way. Eventually you’ll notice a change in how you see yourself, as well as in how you view the world.
