"I know JK Rowing is a terrible person but her books are so good-"
You sure about that?
I mean, just for a start, have you taken a good look at her fantasy creatures lately? A whole bunch of them are straight-up based on malicious and dehumanizing stereotypes about actual people.
Remember the werewolves? And being a werewolf was made into a kind of metaphor for having AIDS?
And you know how AIDS was first associated with gay men? And how conservatives back in the day were claiming gay men were preying on children in order to convert them to gayness?
Remember how Fenrir Greyback preyed on children in particular? Yeah, she put that subtext in there. She was an adult in the 90's. She knew damn well what she was doing.
Remember the house elves? Remember how most of them loved to serve and needed to have a home and a master or else they just wouldn't know what to do with themselves?
Did you know that's literally what slavers in the American South said about the Black people they kept enslaved? Go look up the happy slave myth.
Do I even need to get into the goblins and the antisemitic tropes they're based on? No, folkloric goblins were not gold-hoarding bankers waiting for their chance to stab humanity in the back.
"But the characters are so good!"
Are you kidding me?
Most of her characters are pretty one-dimensional, including Harry. Her idea of making a morally complicated character is giving a tragic past to a bully. Numerous characters are little more than stereotypes. (Looking at Fleur right now.) Literally anybody, including you, can easily make dozens of characters just as good, if not better. (It doesn't exactly take a lot of character designing skill to go, "hey, actually, having a sad backstory doesn't make it okay to bully children" or "hey, maybe I should not base a character on the first stereotype that pops into my head.")
"But the rest of the worldbuilding!"
Sorry, but her worldbuilding is just as basic as her characters. Magical castles and secret passages are stock tropes. Magical people who keep their true nature secret from humanity is the premise of pretty much every White Wolf TTRPG. Most of her fantasy creatures are just common European fairy tale and folklore creatures with shitty stereotypes projected onto them.
I'm not saying "basic worldbuilding bad." I'm saying, you could do just as good, if not better, with minimal effort.
Also there's her magical bioessentialism, where only Harry's abusive blood relatives could provide him with supernatural protection from Voldemort. Rowling thus effectively declared that non-biological family isn't quite real family, and that abusive biofamily can give you some essential thing that a loving, supportive family that isn't related to you just can't.
The Hogwarts houses are one of the most insidious elements of her worldbuilding. The idea of being sorted gives you a little dopamine hit because wow now you have a li'l niche where you belong!
But the actual function of the houses and sorting system and the House Cup is teaching children to see each other as rivals, and ensure that the most toxic views of the upper class get passed on to every new batch of kids sorted into Slytherin.
Hogwarts effectively prepares children for a dystopia where magic serves to distract its citizens from how nightmarishly awful it is. Economic inequality is so bad that people like Arthur and Molly Weasley can barely afford to put their kids through school, casual sadism is just an accepted norm in everyday society, and non-humans are second class citizens. Rowling sorta acts like she thinks this is a bad thing with certain lines she gave to Dumbledore, but in the end, her special boy protagonist becomes an auror; IE, a defender of the status quo. So.
If you've never seen it, Lily Simpson's video goes into even more detail on how the worldbuilding of Harry Potter is actually incredibly fucked up, and how it betrays small-minded attitudes on Rowling's part. There's no separating the art from this artist, because Rowling's rotten values pour out of nearly every page.
youtube
Yes, there are many things in Harry Potter that evoke feelings and inspire people, but there's absolutely nothing in it that this series has a monopoly on. You can find those same experiences in much, much better media.

I'm probably going to regret this later.
I had a good friend say to me recently that she's not reading any more books by white men. Clearly she was looking for congratulations. Instead, all I could feel was sadness.
To me, the point of pushing for diversity and representation in media is exactly that. Diversity, and not just to put points on a scoreboard or get kudos from your socially-minded friends but because you actually care about broadening your mind. For too long, too few people's perspectives and experiences have been overrepresented in history and popular culture, which limits our thinking and perpetuates the kinds of marginalization and discrimination that hurt society as a whole. We need to actively, aggressively correct that. But to me that means a process that is additive, not subtractive.
Add books to your reading list by people from different backgrounds and cultures, or that center characters who aren't like you. And "aren't like you" should be broad. Read a different genre than you'd normally pick up. Read about somebody older or younger than you, someone whose brain works differently, or someone who grew up in a different part of the country, even if they might look like you on the outside. Do this, but don't only do this to the point that reading becomes a chore or a performative action, or to the point where you're now cutting out other perspectives entirely. I hear so many sad stories these days about how little people read, and I think part of that is because there's been a push for reading as a requirement, as education, and that only certain kinds of books are okay to read because they contribute to this goal. That's such crap. Read what you want because it is fun! But then also add to that experience with new, different books. You never know what else you might like (looking at you, native Hawaiian vampire story). Growing your reading pie isn't about "no more of this" but "yes, more of that."
And the same can be said for fandom. Fandom has always been as space for people to explore different kinds of characterizations and relationships that aren't heavily reflected in popular culture. That's largely why we have transformative works. But lately I see this almost puritanical push in fandom for everything to check certain boxes when the whole point of fandom and fan creations is to make shit up. Don't see enough hairy-chested mlm werewolves on screen? Draw your favs as hairy gay werewolves who kiss! And if you've never thought about your OTP as werewolves, be open-minded enough to explore it, or to read someone else exploring it just to see how it is and stretch your brain a bit. Maybe you'll like it, or learn about werewolves. Maybe you'll hate it. Either way, support each other.
And like the books, this process should be additive. Push yourself to be open to more ships and interpretations of characters and canon. Also, curate your fandom experience, and if you explore something and it isn't for you, that's okay. It's for somebody else. And the fact that it contains no werewolves doesn't make it wrong, or boring, or toxic, or anti-werewolf, or something you need to tell the creator not to make anymore because you want to be seen in online spaces as coming out against what is unpopular so that you, by reflection, will look popular. If you do this you're looking for the fandom equivalent of kudos for saying you'll never read a book by a white man, leaving everything from Neil Gaiman to Tolkien on the table and thinking that makes you look progressive instead of sad and small and like you're trying desperately to sit at the right table in middle school. In short, fandom isn't a zero sum game any more than reading is. And real diversity in fandom means adding in the content and perspectives and characters we're missing, both on and off-screen, (and not just the ones you like, but the ones you might not) as well as not weeding out the ones that we already have. We can have more together, not less.

i'm writing a book! and it's getting published!
if you just want the immediate details you can click the read and read a short FAQ! if you need more to get sold on it, stick around and check it out!
My YA SFF fantasy debut, ALVOSKIA: Call of the Infrans, follows an Unchosen one named Ally who is struggling to find where she belongs amidst her chosen one found family family when violence arrives at their doorstep, and they're forced to fulfil their duties earlier than expected. There's dragons and child soldiers and subverted fantasy tropes, some tone consistent werewolves, an almost entirely queer main cast with the majority also being characters of colour, and if you've been following my blog for any amount of time, it probably has something for you.
If you like ATLA: "what if there were multiple Avatars running around, and what if they weren't all automatically good people?" + past lives and reincarnation cycles
If you like Derry Girls: hot mess of teenagers getting in and out of trouble together while being ridiculous (and sometimes very sad)
If you like PJO: young teenagers with cool powers going on quests together and coming-of-age. And snark. Lots of snark
If you like Six of Crows: morally dubious collection of protagonists, some heisting may or may not happen, outsiders working together
If you like TDP: elves and dragons and long standing grudges and politics
If you like Star Wars: y'know how the Force like consumes you the farther you wander in? yeah that's the magic system here. + some shadow, death, and shapeshifter stuff
If you like HTTYD: you're here for the found family and fun fantasy aesthetic aren't you
Rep: queer (aro, ace, bi, pan, trans, lesbian, nonbinary, genderfluid, gay main characters, often times overlapping); Asian (Indonesian), Black, Sri Lankan and Pakistani (coded) rep; hijabi rep; one character is an amputee and one main character is Autistic.
The debut month is March 2026! Sometimes there is even very pretty (commissioned or friends) art for it:

In general Ryan gets so mistreated and overhated by the fandom and it makes me sad because I really like Ryan even in my first playthrough :/ I get that the part where he was arguing with Laura about the existence of werewolves when he watched Nick transform and run out the window was kind of dumb but he’s all around a great character who’s brave and helpful and he helped save everyone’s lives in the best ending….
While I don’t agree with all of their actions I can’t bring myself to hate on any of the counselors. They’re all young adults who are stuck in a horrifying and traumatic situation, of course they’re going to be flawed and not perfect. It just baffles me how Travis, Constance, Jedidiah and Eliza do the most horrible things in the game yet people viciously hate on Ryan : (
Oh, the actual adults in the game are absolutely The Worst. (Even Chris, though I think he wants to help, is incredibly negligent at best).
I think there are a few things happening here that can turn people against Ryan (and I'm not saying anyone has to like him as a character, we all have characters we vibe with and ones we don't, but it's worth examining why we don't vibe with some characters especially when those characters are Black or other POC, LGBTQ, and ND-coded).
Ryan is a victim of some of the less compelling writing choices in the game IMO. They don't have anything to do with his character, really, he's generally well-written, but some of the things that were cut from the game, and the way the relationships unravel in the latter half of the game does Ryan kind of dirty.
First of all, his relationship with Chris Hackett isn't fleshed out enough for a lot of players to understand why he's willing to sacrifice so much on the hope that his mentor isn't actually a werewolf (or a deeply irresponsible asshole of a boss). If they'd left in the scene of Chris following up with Ryan about following his dreams and going to animation school and the initial confrontation with Chris that was patched out, where Ryan questions how he hid this from them all this time when he cared about them and Ryan trusted him (literally heartbreaking to watch tbh 🥺), it might have been a little easier for players to empathize with his loyalty to Chris. This kid has no known father, absentee mother, aging grandparents, a sister he clearly feels a lot of responsibility for, and his father figure who he goes to for advice left him in the worst possible situation. Of course he's going to be in denial about that and about him being a werewolf until he sees it for himself, and then Ryan has to kill him. It's so fucking tragic. And he doesn't even get a second to mourn or even react because the Silas plotline kicks in immediately (and they spent all the animated tears budget on Jacob).
Then there's Ryan's relationship with Dylan, which I could (and will) write about for days. Based on the game we got, plus the cut content, I don't think Ryan was ever supposed to have the option to get with Kaitlyn. I think that's a red herring that allows homophobic players to avoid a gay kiss (kind of a fucked up use of a BAMF character and Brenda Song's star power but, ok). I don't think he was ever supposed to get to romance Laura either. But I do think he was meant to be able to either end up with Dylan, or decisively not end up with him. If they'd kept the relationship system that we still have traces of but no actual structure for, then his ability to say 'maybe neither' to Laura wouldn't be something players held against him because it would have a basis in the choices we've made as Ryan (and Dylan) so far. As it stands, it feels like that is unsupported by what's happened in the game when we've had Dylan and Ryan flirting with each other and taking an obvious interest in each other since they were introduced.
Even if you choose the less favorable dialogue options, Dylan and Ryan are never really shown to be truly at odds (with the possible exception of the gun argument, but even that pretty much smooths over in the end). Even if you have them be hard-headed assholes to each other, they still have their heart-to-heart on the way to the radio hut (which I really think was supposed to have an alternative if they had low relationship stats).
Complicating matters is the fact that a lot of people really love Dylan. Obviously I'm one of them, I mean, look at my url and writing choices. I think Miles gives the best performance of the game, hands down (and I think all the actors did really well tbh). He's a great actor (his line reads are flawless and that sassy boy body language? I die.) but he also gets a lot to work with in terms of the script. Dylan is complex and compelling in a way that tends to be highly relatable for most people. He's probably neurodivergent (ADHD) but it's portrayed in a more palatable way for neurotypical people. Plus, as an audience, we are primed to empathize with the person who wants to be wanted, who is afraid of rejection, who has the cute crush that we want to see reciprocated and is trying not to get their heart stomped on. We've all been there! That's a centuries-old trope in drama and literature for a reason. And while Ryan does not owe Dylan reciprocation, we see some pretty clear signs of it at least being possible. So the game sort of dangles it in front of players like we can make that happen with our choices and then makes a half-baked attempt to snatch it away. That annoys people and, I think at least partially because Ryan's race and stoic demeanor (/autism) have people subconsciously primed to view him negatively, they take that out on him instead of the SMG writers who opted for that rather than fleshing out the relationships any further for the latter half of the game.
Like, yes, it's a horror game not a dating sim (Ryan and Dylan dating sim DLC when tho??), but you spend so much time building relationships that end up not mattering to the outcome of the game, I get why that's frustrating for people. It's frustrating for me! I just think being mad at Ryan over it is the wrong take. I still see people saying "Dylan deserves better than Ryan." Dylan and Ryan both deserve to exist in a finished fucking game where we have the option to get them together or not, but blaming whatever happens, or doesn't, on Ryan as a character is kinda trash.

ouattober2023 Day 6: Fav Rarepair

Red Warrior (aka Mulan Rouge, fandom, it was right there, come on)
The gif speaks for itself already, Do I need to say more? No. Will I? Absolutely.
Back in S2 I was very happy. I had Sleeping Warrior to ship and also Red Beauty. Two good ships. But over the years there was the question "what if Mulan and Ruby ever met?". It seemed like a fun constellation. The honorable warrior, serious, focused, happily doing her duty. And the werewolf waitress who effortlessly talks to people, who can be mean if need be (and the full moon is out). Imagine Ruby showing Mulan around Storybrooke. She'd have her start her own gym so fast. (After being teased for so long, somebody should have taken Mulan to Storybrooke and let her watch a film already.)
I watched S5 spoiler free. No promos. It's fun. But there is always the guest cast list and seeing the names Jamie Chung and Meghan Ory when The Bear King started? EXCITEMENT! I was then mesmerized by the Mulan&Merida scenes, I almost forgot I was waiting to see Ruby again. And oh boy, THE WOLF! Once again foiled with magic, but that was okay. When Mulan arrives at the Witch's Hut next? A different kind of magic happening indeed...
Meet Cute noun; (in a film or television programme) an amusing or charming first encounter between two characters that leads to the development of a romantic relationship between them.
Yep, I'd say Mulan almost getting attacked saying "you're not a wolf" with a big smile "you just need a little help remembering who you are", then splashing that potion to reveal Ruby, now sorta sitting above her? Perfect meet cute you can talk about for ages. It calls back a pivotal point from Mulan's past and we get to see a mostly decent CGI wolf (in broad daylight). Especially because we know that Red has killed people before and it's so unclear how much control she has, what exactly the Witch has done to her, ending it with her all smiling as well, is great. Of course I have to cry about "My name's Ruby. My friends call me Red." (Sorry, Mulan should have called her Red later on, to hammer that home.)
Mulan has hearteyes from the get-go, Ruby sits there panting. Frame this and put it in a museum. A clashing meeting that is definitely cute. I mean, there's a sword and fur involved.
It's funny how Mulan forgets to even introduce herself and Ruby has to ask her name later on (because suddenly it's night, how long did they sit like that?). And for somebody who likes to overanalyze it's hilarious how they do manage that Mulan mentions Aurora - with the sad music swelling in the background, to remind us all how their last meeting went - and then we cut to Ruby saying goodbye to Snow. In my mind a good reason this pairing works is, that they can get drunk together and lament how terribly in love they both once were with a princess. It's a fun thing to bond over.
Mulan is clearly the rare holder of the braincell, she also brings in a lot of training, so a good fighting form. Ruby is the muscle, but especially for the EF she has a special kind of wit thanks to the curse!persona. The Bear King allowed us to see a darker side of Mulan, hitting rock bottom, being selfish and looking for a fight.So Ruby is a great person to have her enjoy life and find a balance between duty and fun. This is kinda the promise at the end of the ep, finding a path for Mulan, while Ruby searches werewolves.
Obligatory Doylian rant: Red Warrior was the plan. Whatever you wanna say about the writers, they knew this episode was a romantic set-up. There was a cryptic tweet, some drama and so it's all speculative, but I have made my peace that this came down to studio interference. The live action Mulan film was in the works already, it was coming, Mulan is an official big Disney princess and even though everybody with a bit of media literacy understood that Mulan was very much in love with Aurora, there was this plausible deniability and she wasn't like... that gay. Oh no. And this is why Dorothy got squeezed in, Mulan left with nothing. Clearly not what was promised to Jamie Chung. I have no proof, but it is the best explanation how we went from The Bear King to Ruby Slippers (zero hate for that episode or the Red Kansas ship!!).
Tumblr media
I want to know what kind of adventures they had together. How did they go about this search? Any rumors about wolves? The maddening thing is how they managed to end up in Oz at all. I know there's a mysterious BTS pic for the ep. But nevermind, what we do get in the beginning is a duo with a routine, complete with a badass back-to-back protective stance. I always pictured them together in Storybrooke, Ruby showing Mulan around. But I guess what I needed was them out in the woods alone, traveling realms and kicking ass (I'm a simple girl, with simple needs).
Two wonderful interactions at the end of TBK are when the Witch arrives at the coronation. Ruby is ready to go on the offense, but Mulan holds her back. Just a few frames, but it's perfect. And then there's their little banter Ruby: "I might not be the best person to ask for dating advice. I kind of ate the only boyfriend I've ever had." Mulan: "Yes, that disqualifies you." [...] Ruby: "It's better than wallowing in self-pity." Mulan: "I don't wallow!"
THEY ARE ALREADY PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER! Endless teasing and running head first into enemies (don't worry, Mulan has a plan; Ruby dramatically takes off her cloak... sometimes even when there is no wolf moon, just to distract enemies).

Hi, folks! After ages, I'm finally introducing this project I've been mentioning for months! It really shouldn't have taken me this long to post this, but I'm a busy perfectionist.
The best way I can describe TWATB is if Once Upon a Time and The Vampire Diaries had a child. Hopefully a better written one. It's mainly a Beauty and the Beast retelling, but in book 1 you can see hints of other fairytale characters and, in book 2, all new characters come from different stories. Yes, it is a series, it seems I'm physically unable to write standalones.
Plot
After a nuclear war set technology back and filled Earth's atmosphere with gas clouds that black out the sun, vampires came out of the shadows and subjugated the humans.
Rosebelle Fortier wishes to escape the small French village where she lives, unable to pursue her thirst for knowledge and tormented by a vampire who wants to make her his. Ro's wish comes true with a catch when she offers herself as prisoner to a half-human, half-wolf Beast and his siblings to save her father's life.
Before he angered the wrong witch, Adam ruled the Kingdom of Alsace. Now, he's a monster trapped in his own castle and by a curse that will only break if he learns to love and be loved back. Time is ticking by and, even when a girl stumbles on his path, Adam knows there's no hope: no one will ever love a beast.
As a hidden threat forms, Ro and Adam must come into their own power and fall in love, all before time runs out.

Setting
Like I mentioned in the plot, TWATB is set in an unspecified future, after a nuclear war. As a consequence, the planet is cocooned by a thick cover of gas clouds that block all sunlight. Vampires, who had previously been considered a myth, came out of hiding and started ruling over the humans. Besides that unfortunate implication, lack of sunlight also means the climate is colder and living conditions are dire. The story is set in France, but now it looks like Siberia.
The war also set technology back a couple centuries, before the discovery of electricity. There's gas lamps, railroads (not many, because, y'know, lots of ice and snow), zeppelins. And, of course, I couldn't resist the steampunk/Victorian aesthetic.
But that's not all! Even though I'm not sure how much will come across in book 1, since it's set at the castle for 90% of the time, there's more to the setting than "steampunk but cold". I've built a vampire-centric society with its own rules and spent a bunch of time researching what effects the absence of direct sunlight would have, to make everything as realistic as possible.
This is all for now. Hope this "new" project piqued your interest!

I'm sorry but this implies that Kaito would be better than it than Kokichi
imagine that Kokichi put a lot of effort into learning it and has been trying to master it for years, Kaito becomes a pro on accident
they have to be brothers in that AU
Tumblr media
Kaito, Kokichi and Shuichi behind Maki or Kaede, or Rantaro
Ves: maki defending her little weirdos
Me: she's a monster hunter, but those are (unfortunately) her idiot creatures she knows Ouma the longest also, they met in chidhood (same orphanage? fucked up and made some sort of deal with him before she learnt anything about fae?), it's the only reason she tolerates him (they're basically siblings) Momota believed werewolves and vampires should hate each other before he found Saihara, he first adopted him to train him into a proper rival & make him fit into the vision he has, but Ouma yoinks the rival status away for himself and they become buddies chasing him after he stole Shuichi's hat again and that's how they meet Maki, bc she sees them confronting him and she's like "only I can beat him up"
Dra: They're family,,, Not the "omg fight me",, excited puppy fr
Apollo: Kokichi getting excited because he finally has his very own rival plus said rival has a hot friend.
Me: no, he makes Shuichi the rival yoinks Momota's dreams and work away
Ves: tgis is so sad he tries to make maki his rival and she just sighs
Me: Kaito "I was building him up for me, you can't just come in for the ready" all that training
Dra: Why do they all want rivals sjfjdjd
Me: Kokichi for gay reasons, Kaito for hero appearances reasons
Apollo: He finally comes home like "I GOT A RIVAL!!!!" and she just groans because now he's gonna ramble about how he's living rent free in a cutie's mind instead of whining about being bored because no one is interesting enough for his big brain
Dra: We said Maki's a hunter right,, did she try to get any of them before Kokichi stopped it [eyes emoji]
Me: she only hunts if she's hired (or you really piss her off), so that depends on whether somebody wants them gone

If You Had Your Best Friend Back
<Prev || Part 9 || Next>
Leah: you have small boobs *putting on your sports bra*
You: shut up! Better tight than not *pauses*
Leah: god that sounds so wrong
You: *groans* better tight than to have nothing on.
Leah: that’s not better
You: fuck you
Leah: *chuckles*
You and Leah: *walks towards Sam and Emily’s*
You: I have to warn you. We’re going to Sam and Emily’s
Leah: *sighs* I figured…
You: *holds her hand* I’ve got you
Leah: can you tell me why we shift while we get there
You: you remember the legends about Taha Aki yeah?
Leah: yeah vampires and werewolves… but why are we turning now?
You: shifters. Not werewolves. well our histories never had more than three shifters in a pack, let alone two female shifters. The last time there was a pack the Cullens had 5. When I was forbidden from seeing you they had 8 to our 4. Then they left and then we had 6. And now that they’re back we’re 1 for 1. 8 to 8.
Leah: the numbers don’t make sense!
You: many things don’t make sense Lee
~~~~~
You and Leah: *laughs and hi fives*
Paul: you guys cheated! *throws controller down*
You: *sarcastic* oh no if only the other guys actually worked together maybe you guys would win
Leah: what did you think we were doing when we hung out
Jared: gossip about guys? Watch movies, giggle. Not dominate in Super Smash Bros 64!
You: *scowls* when have i ever giggled
Paul: Again! (Y/n) can’t play as Ness!
You and Leah: *looks at each other and shrugs*
You: okay
You, Jared, Leah and Paul: *plays again*
You and Leah: *win*
Jared: what the heck dude! How do you suck so bad!
Paul: you died first!
Jared and Paul: *wrestle*
Sam and Emily: *enters*
Emily: not in the house!
You: here I’ll help! *grabs both Jared and Paul by their necks and pushed them out the door*
Jared and Paul: *still wrestling*
Emily: *moves to the kitchen*
Leah: *holds her elbow*
Sam: *gives a sad smile towards Leah* Lea Lea
Leah: *stiffens*
You: *looks over at Leah and walks in front of Sam* move back bucko
Sam: I just want to talk to her
You: well does she want to talk to you.
Sam: I want to apologize
You: *raises your eyebrows*
Leah: it’s fine (Y/n/n)
You: *looks back at her to confirm, sighs and turns back* fine.
Sam: *takes a step forward*
You: *grabs his forearm* I know where you sleep. *turns to Leah* holler if you need me
Sam and Leah: *leaves the house*
Emily: I’m glad she has you back
You: it can’t be easy for her. Everything she’s been through, having to constantly be around Sam and his thoughts of you. Being ordered around by him too.
Emily: you think she’d be my bridesmaid if I asked
You: depends how long you’re willing to wait. It’ll take time
Emily: *hums*
You: … why didn’t you ask me to be your bridesmaid?
Emily: *laughs* you’d have to wear a dress you know.
You: just because I’m gay doesn’t mean I don’t wear dresses
Emily: *gasps* will you wear a dress
You: *offended* NO!
Emily: *laughs and slaps you*
Hello! I hope your having a good day.
May I please request a Kol Mikaelson x reader with hidden injury and “whose blood is that?” please?
Thank you!
(Your writing is amazing!!! 💛)
Thank you for the lovely words! I hope this is good, I'm a bit rusty on my Originals so I went with generic situation!
Also wasn't sure which Kol cuz I know there's two when the mom does that weird body switcharoo thing so I went with the Kol we know and love😭😂
Tumblr media
In the state that I'm in, the last thing we need right now is for Kol to find out that he couldn't trust his brother with me.
Kol has trust issues at it is. Maybe a little bit of separation anxiety because every time I have to go out with anyone but him, he clams up and immediately starts to get unbelievably defensive in my defense.
He's a bit of a control freak, what can I say.
But today, Klaus and I were tasked in going out and making sure that the newly formed bond between the werewolves and vampires, hybrids too, was holding up and that there were no issues that we needed to discuss and get out in the open.
Maybe it's mine and Elijah's good influence on the group that led to the better communication between the supernatural creatures of New Orleans, or maybe it's just that the Mikaelson's are tired of fighting and tired of bloodshed.
But apparently, some of the werewolves had a very deep, very personal, bone to pick with us because we left nearly torn to shreds.
"Klaus- shit, that hurts." I wince, taking a deep breath in through gritted teeth as Klaus frowns deeply, shushing me under his breath. "Kol is going to find out about this, there's no use hiding it-"
"Kol is going to find out about what exactly?" The familiar voice startles both Klaus and I, my head craning to look back at my boyfriend who stands in the doorway, brows pulling together at the sight of my shredded, bloody shirt. "Who's blood is that?" He asks, rushing up to the side of the bed, pushing his brother out of the way. He takes my hand in his as I writhe around in pain, my eyes fluttering shut as tears prick the back of my eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want you to be mad-"
"I'm not mad." He whispers, eyes raking over the wounds on my stomach with a sigh. He turns to look back up at Klaus who looks like something resembling a kicked puppy, his eyes anxiously avoiding his brothers. "Get out, would you?" Klaus quickly leaves the room without another word, leaving us alone as I grip onto his hand.
"I'm sorry." I whimper, lip jutting out in frustrated sadness, tears trailing down my cheeks and he gives me a sad smile, reaching up to brush his knuckles over my cheek gently.
"Don't apologize, my love. We'll figure it out." His fingers draw small circles into my cheekbone, soothing my worries and concerns and for a moment I forget about the open, searing wounds. "For now just relax."
C A T for the ask game please hehe 😻
Cat!! My dearest Shrutual <3333
(Im going to answer alphabetically. Also this got so long omg)
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
I do have OTPs :D wolfstar and stucky (also previously: klance but im not into them as much anymore)
I even have a meme for this occasion:
Tumblr media
other ships from the marauders fandom:
wolfstarbucks <333 wolfbucks and prongsfoot are alright too but not in the long run, I think I prefer them as a trio (everyone is there and all is well and everyone is happy. I get sad when R isnt there and im worried about S's whereabouts when he isnt there, so. Trio)
jily - i wouldnt call myself a jily shipper per se, but its also very dear to me <3333. Would choose a fic with them as a supporting ship over alternatives when reading r/s , thats for sure.
james & sirius friendship but also remus & james friendship!!
basically... sirius and remus and sometimes james an lily. in any configuration at this point
(there are other ships I like from hp, mcu and other fandoms but im not into them that much at this very moment)
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Oh boy. Do I have to choose just one?
Stony.
... Ok that wasnt that hard.
I dont like Tony, I dont care about him, I dont like their relationship we saw in the films (tho i havent read the comics so im judging just the films), Im not into enemies to lovers, there is nothing for me there. zero, zip, nada.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Thats a really hard question bc apart from fighting "mainstream" fanon with canon info i dont think im that invested about most headcanons? so, i will try. i will not elaborate tho.
if sirius was into any muggle subculture it would be punk
black brothers weren't tortured with cruciatus every other day for any minor inconvenience they caused. sirius was abused psychologically and emotionally and until the last second walburga hoped he would come back and take the role of the heir he was supposed to.
regulus wasnt forced into becoming a DE, but he did it bc he wanted to prove himself
alphard was gay and had muggle lover(s)
sirius would become a curse breaker, a social worker, an activist, a mechanic or an engineer or something like that. idk why but i dont like it when he's a healer/doctor. However I can see sirius joining the aurors with james, but i think he would resign not long after finishing training when he realises he cant fix the system from the inside. idk if james would resign tho.
if we assume that the marauders form a pack, its not remus who is the alpha, even while in wolf form
the last one im adding just bc i saw a post about it right before i started answering this ask: the full moon doesnt make remus horny. its a traumatic experience for him and he associates it with everything he fears - pain and loosing control. for a few days before the full he feels sick and weak and he hates everything and sirius has to fight tooth and nail to just get him under a blanket for a cuddle. right after the full he is exhausted and in pain. the further from the full the easier it is to get him in the mood, basically. (i feel like im the only one. at least on this one post every response was the opposite. i read just one ff with a similar thing - where its the new moon that makes werewolves horny.) i am not opposed to remus being horny right after the full tho
las one I just remembered: the hogwarts express has more than two stops. for gods sake. those kids arent travelling to London from Edinburgh just to spend the whole day on the train on the way back. (check out this map) all of the stations have platforms like 3 ⅓, 2 ⅚ and so on of course.
