1) "in the car outside" by paisleycowboys, gym teacher Harry/rcm Kim au fic. They're neighbors, Kim's new in town, and Harry can't help but observe Kim observe him who's observing Kim. They don't get along at first but when feelings catch!!! Oh boy. Oh brother. They're so good for each other.

2) "at this point it was years before..." by RaccoonScientist, originally written in Mandarin translated into English, BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN AND SO MUCH FUN!! Harry and Kim met as children, grow up together as best friends, alternate universe where they do not become cops. I read and reread this fic bc I couldn't get it outta my head.

3) "Static over voice" by sosioban, SO SO SO SO FUCKING GOOD I REREAD THIS RECENTLY (March '24) OOOOOO FUCK!! Harry and Kim meet by chance online playing video game. It is silly. There is pining. They do figure it out.

4) "Du bois coffee" by harvestar, modern au where they work at Harry's coffee shop. Of course they fall in love. Of course they inevitably kiss. Cute fluff. Cuno is mentioned, wish there was more of him in this one.

5) "My Dear Elf with the Clipboard" by Sosioban, more fluff!! Set modern day during Christmas. Kim is a pining mess. He wants Hot Santa so badly it's stupid. Hot Santa is ofc Harry.

6) "Your Turn with the Frog" by sosioban, OH GOD ANOYHER ONE BY SOSIOBAN??? YES!!! love this, read it in one day instead of doing schoolwork. Rushed all that work. Don't regret it. So silly and filled to the brim with smut. Alice, Soona, and Ruby are Kim's friends, Kim is gay, Harry is trans, they're fuck buddies who are both teachers, what can wrong? Kim definitely won't catch feelings. Definitely... WILL BE REREADING THIS ONE

7) "All In Due Time" fic series by Oxycontin. Love love love- so sad sad sad. Kim ages in reverse. His days are numbered. He slowly relearns how to live and how to love and what comes next for everyone else has already happened for him. As time goes on he forgets things. He grows younger. Aging in reverse like Merlin. Some good ol Pale fuckery ya know? I love this series. Extremely well written. Tears my heart up. Read it. I promise it does not disappoint with the angst.

8) "Pale Moon" by greatdistractions, is a werewolf Harry fic set post game. Harry doesn't remember being a werewolf, Kim goes to find him when he doesn't go to work and doesn't answer any calls, and finds a wolf in his apartment instead. They go back to Martinaise. Some cute shit happens. Quick, simple, cute read.

And these last two are set post-game and serve more as continuations than AUs but they're still So Fuckin Good:

9) "birds of a feather flock together" fic series by Thegrimreaperisanerd. OH OH OHOHOHIHHHHHH!!!! I love this series, the second fic is currently in progress and is getting so so so so good!! Taking place post canon, the first fic (Imprinting) is a casefic with Harry and Jean and Harry is so desperate for his new bestie (Kim) he buys a pink phone second hand and does some very illegal very questionable things. DUCKLINGS THAT DROWN is the sequel exploring more of their (Harry and Kim) relationship and their relationships with the 41st. The author is incredibly sweet, highly recommend yall to read and leave em a kudos/comment trust me they'll notice.

10) "Birdcage-verse" fic series by Sarielle, phenomenal writing, excellent execution of a case fic- ADOPTED CUNO ALERT!!! SEAMLESS ORIGINAL CHARACTERS!!! There is so much world building that has gone into this series. I cannot recommend this series in particular enough. Really it has it all.

Clawdeen Wolf is a werewolf, and therefore Monster High's "daughter of a werewolf". For the Scarily Ever After doll line, the monster high students were reimagined as famous fairy tale characters. Clawdeen was based on the story of Red Riding Hood, making this werewolf into the main character of the story instead of the villain! It's a cute way to show her as a girl who likes playing dress up and reading fairy tales as well as being freaky and fierce.

General Propaganda:

Each of these girls deal with their personal demons- in this case, "wolves-" as they grow and mature on the path of life. Each of them represent a different stage of a young person's life as they go through the world and the different ways in which that world can turn on that young person when they allow themselves to get lost in a dense forest, culminating in their reflection on the life they led.

I will admit I'm only familiar with The Path through Izzzyzzz's seminal video on the subject but her Vibes are pretty iconic

(Scarlet) Most underrated sister imo. Her story is hauntingly sad and has themes of "lost of childhood" in a completely opposite way from the original Red Riding Hood, a good twist on the story.

(Ruby) The most well-known of the Path girls and the most goth, I get very sad when I see her. I know "teen angst" is a joke but sometimes I see reminders of just how full of despair teenagers can be. Her self-destructive tendencies and her "Charming Wolf" are leading her down a path (pun intended) that could kill her if she is not saved in time. It's so easy to dismiss teenage impulsion but only the survivors can.

(Ginger) Girl is so queer. Love that for her.

(Robin) Little girl sees giant wolf and wants to take it for a ride. Nuff said. (Also her room is the scariest imo. A child learning about death and their own mortality is mundane but terrifying)

Childhood Wenclair Idea

The Sinclairs and the Addams have always been close but apart. For one Summer though, to celebrate that their little Enid is likely to be the youngest werewolf to ever fully transform, the two families spend it together. All are excited for the young werewolf girl but until the night of the full moon, she mostly just wants to spend time with someone else who finally understands what it’s like to have to deal with brothers all of the time. The only problem is that the closer she gets to Wednesday, the more and more Enid finds her tails and ears hiding more often. Her claws refusing to stay out as she climbs. And the call of the moon, that she felt so strongly, seems to be growing ever quieter as the sound of her heart beats ever louder in her ears. So, to get away from the elevator pitch style: The story features Enid and Wednesday meeting together at a younger age, probably around ten, and Wednesday and her begin to get close. The closer the two get though, the more Enid finds herself confused about her feelings towards Wednesday, especially since Wednesday has no filter on her own feelings but also doesn’t realize that Enid doesn’t even know that gay people exist. So you have one with her awkward flavor of flirting, pushed by her always accepting, always oddball family and another from a much more traditionalist, conservative family who has no idea what is happening or why Wednesday telling her she’s beautiful means so much to her. All while the confidence and self acceptance required to transform suddenly vanishes from Enid and she starts disappointing her family BEFORE she starts asking questions they don’t like. Probably a lot of cute fluff before a LOT of really sad angst too if I were to ever do it. For now wanted to share it with you all instead of my bad depression. *sigh* If you want to keep up with me about how I’m doing and my projects, following me here works of course but I also have a Discord that you can join here!

Again, new to marauders. This fic 3 that I’ve read. Feel free to shoot me recs, currently looking for ~100,000 word fic with a good angst balance and no major character death.

Summary: Overall this story was INCREDIBLE. I loved the writing style, such a good amount of angst, and an easy to follow narrative. It raised Harry like exactly how I wanted and was so cutey and sweetly and UGH

SPOILERS BELOW BEWARE

Chapter one

I already like the opening quote. Can tell the writing is going to be good.

God the angst is already great

He’s only 24 wild

I kind of forgot just how much he lost that night, like all of his closest friends were dead. Even in canon, with no world star this probably sucks the worst for Lupin.

Okay I’m actually crying already

I’ve been wanting a babyfic since the first one I read

This is such a hard thing to do, parenting is hard without the trauma and sob storying

Chapter two

I wonder how they are going to reincorporate Sirius

And I’m concerned about Harry’s quietness, I feel like that’s not consistent with who he grows up to be

Hoping for some baby Ron and harry content eventually

I never give Kudos until the end of the fic, this is incredible and I absolutely adore it already

Literally crying from how sad Remus is Jesus

Chapter three

YES love old lady gossip

Neris is so cute delicious

Plus Harry is opening up a lot, so far very happy chapter!

Remus kind of being forced to push forward is great narratively, a little concerned about how it will work with pacing

They write Harry very well, not annoying as children can often be in fic

Chapter five

This is what I wanted, you see James and Lily in harry and remus is just thoughtful and reflective enough to show the audience the importance of this its just MWAH

Oh my god

Baby trauma. He’s so cute and being such a little bitch

Literally so sad, like remus is such a better parent than the Dursleys could ever be but him knowing what harry had makes it sad

If I have to read “angry fucks” again im gonna lose it, say sex please, at least sometimes

Chapter six

God this sucks, like I know they aren’t truly in danger but the emotional turmoil goes crazy

3 chapters till we get Sirius saying it now

Cannot understate how much remus’s pining and distraught connects to me

Like I can tell they were in love but SO TOXIC which, again, is teenage girl core

Not to diminish the relationship, I think the way teenage girls evaluate breakups and romance is like peak human condition and is incredibly poignant amidst the issues of war and death and loss.

YES FUCK YES HELL YEAH INNOCENT INNOCENT INNOCENTTTTTT FUCK PETER HATE THAT SON OF A BITCH

Chapter seven

UGH I know I said fuck Peter but this still sucks ass

When do I get to see Sirius. Ik I said 3 chapters but I didn’t mean it

The justice in him being DECLARED innocent is so beautiful. I wish that could’ve happened in the books, he died being known as a shitty, terrible human being

Just taking in the idea that both Sirius and Harry see each other as a replacement for James in the books, that is such a beautiful like concept with such horrible influences on how they treat each other and I really want to see how its reconciled here, if its relevant at all

Harry with his two dads that barely speak to each other

I do need reconciliation but making sure the weight of tragedy is like there also seems important

But also, please, just fuck already

Chapter ten

Yes I know I skipped 16 and 17 and I'm sorry.

Overall this story was INCREDIBLE. I loved the writing style, such a good amount of angst, and an easy to follow narrative. It raised Harry like exactly how I wanted and was so cutey and sweetly and UGH. I will say I wish there was more to the plot than “everyone is sad and trying to not be anymore”While that is a completely reasonable story, it does make it a little boring. But because this fic is fairly short it works out alright. My only true criticism is going to be on the pacing. I am not sure at all when Harry and Remus were introduced to each other, or how far after that Sirius came into their lives. I also think Harry and Sirius’ connection, while amazing, was a bit unrealistic at the beginning. For a child with this much past to IMMEDIATELY latch onto someone like this is kinda wild, but it works for the story so no big deal honestly. I think characterizations were good, not great. However, this is a situation we haven’t seen marauders in and I’m not super familiar with how marauders are usually characterized outside of reading the books and watching movies, so I’d reevaluate characterization stuff once im more engrossed in the fandom.

This is something I just thought about while adding tags, having moody in this fic was nice. He's a character I'd like to see more out of what I've read so far in marauders

Okay, I GOT to ask: what are your Brinivybank headcanons? Like whats the full story behind these besties suffering together? And how angsty does this get? I need to know cuz you put this triplet in my head and I'm obsessed

omg

ive thrown up so much baloney about them over the months so some stuff i say may be lowkey rehashing but oh well! these are my babies!!

i ended up writing more than intended so it's put under a cut

i can already just kind of picture dylan meshing well naturally with both emma and max over the summer (in the event max made it ofc). emma and max would take a bit more time to even interact with each other but the second emma makes a dumb joke and max responds with something dumb back, it's clicked.

since max was originally listed in his bio as class clown before dylan's intro video gave him it, they're already on the same level. supermassive didn't let skyler and miles interact because they would've been too powerful together. the three of them would be just dumb shenanigan snark fests and everyone hates to love them. they are the perfect goofball menaces to compliment their partners, and they love terrorizing them together.

as far as the actual canon events though, i always just like to believe max and emma meet post-surviving that night. they have to. emma snatched his clothes and got his ugly wolf mug on her phone, she needs to make fun of him for it. and with biting/trying to bite her i can just see him being like "whoops my bad i didn't eat before the moon came up". u know she wants to be mad but with his lil hoodie and awkward dumb joke she can't be mad.

i needed just more of emma and dylan, too. they love being annoying!! they want to break into cabins and be gay do crimes!! the most i get for any sort of bonding is if abi's died and dylan recaps the story to her. she opens up in front of him and kaitlyn! she's letting her real emotions out for once and lets her stage presence drop! and then they just never interact again. what the hell!

but post-game! they have a great support system going. they all share almost the same fear, of not being good enough or trying to act like someone they're not because that's what makes people happy. dylan and emma put on a show since they think that's what the people want. max hated upsetting laura since he didn't tell her about college. he wasn't falling in line with the plan of what she wanted them to be anymore. none of them want to make anyone sad. they just want to have fun, tell jokes, be silly, and stay afloat.

after all the werewolf trauma, it's rough for them to bounce back to their normal selves, but i think they'd feed on each others energy and remember its okay to still smile. having everyone else alive and around definitely helps speed up the healing process too.

i also imagine if laura and ryan don't come back, dylan remembers max's name and her story of leaving him there. he and emma go together bc emma wants to know who the hell the bitch was that tried to eat her - and its just some goofball that's wearing a cropped pink hoodie. her desire to throw hands is instantly gone because he looks just so sad waiting for laura at the dock and he's like "who are u guys.. wheres my girl"

my favorite kind of angst for them is the run i just did where they were my only three survivors, and infected each other. i personally feel like there's a strong bond that forms between werewolves after infection - so now that their love interests are dead, they rely on each other 10x more for support. cuz no one is going to understand it like they do. cuz max is the reason emma bit dylan and now they're just stuck with it. they don't know the source of the curse, and no one is around to tell them anymore.

alone but together. every month, they dread the night that reminds them and forces them to be the cause of everything they've lost. they met up right after, realized what happened, and realize that it's just them. emma gets their numbers, they have a little group chat to keep each other sane. then when it's a full moon, they meet up to be together and accounted for, and lock themselves away.

another full moon later, they get a place to stay and move in with each other. it's easier and more comforting this way, and it's easier for them to keep their humor when it's in one safe space.

but the survivors guilt eats at them for a while. max is sad that he couldn't have done anything to help laura, that she died trying to help him. emma is sad she wasn't there for abi, that the last time she saw her she kissed abi's crush. dylan is sad that ryan went off and never came back, and he'll never know if something more could've happened.

while it takes a long time to heal, they eventually slowly come to terms with their fates. but they'll still never be okay.

maybe there's an off chance they can get chris to help, since he'd have to live for them to stay infected. but with the rest of the hacketts dead, chris is just as helpless as them on the night of an actual full moon. who could even cure them at this point?

prompt:

someone says mean stuff to sirius and since its right after he was disowned, it hurt him a lot and was extremely sad (wondering why everyone seems to not like him). later when he tells remus, remus takes care of him, accidentally telling him he is in love with sirius and just them being soft and in love :)) (later remus punches that dude tho)

Omg angst + hurt and comfort yes it would be an honour to write this

“Fucking prick,” a Slytherin hissed, stumbling back a few steps when Sirius bumped into him. “You blind, mate?”

Sirius blew our a breath, stopping himself before he could fall over. “Sorry, didn’t see you.”

“Obviously.” The Slytherin looked up, and Sirius’ heart stopped when he recognised him: it was one of Regulus’ friends, the one who always hung around him and gave Sirius dirty looks from afar.

“Oh. Black,” the Slytherin sneered, his face twisted into something ugly. “Right in front of my eyes, a right fag, aren’t ya? How you doing, over there in Gryffindor? Fucking blood traitor. Your brother has every right to hate you. You should just piss off, mate. Nobody would miss you.”

And then he walked away, leaving Sirius to stand there, frozen.

Not his brother anymore, if I’m being honest with myself.

Was it really that bad? Being gay and being put in Gryffindor? Did it really warrant enough hate that bad by everyone else? Had it warranted enough hate from his parents to really disown him?

Sirius looked down at the books that were still at his feet, knocked out of his hands when he bumped into the Slytherin. He bent and picked them up gingerly, mind somewhere else, far away.

He entered the Gryffindor common room, immediately spotting his boyfriend on the couch. On one hand, he wanted to curl up next to Remus, for any kind of reassurance and love, but on the other hand, he didn’t want the werewolf to see him like this. Weak and nearly about to burst into tears.

Before he could do anything, though, Remus looked up from the book he was reading and immediately smiled warmly at Sirius, placing a bookmark between the pages before opening his arms for a hug. “Hey.”

Sirius walked over to him, unceremoniously dumping his own books onto the coffee table and melting into Remus’ embrace. “Hey,” he replied softly, voice shaky.

He felt the arms around him tighten. “Are you okay? You sound down.” Remus’ voice was concerned, worried. It made Sirius feel even worse.

He couldn’t handle the onslaught of emotions anymore, and promptly burst into tears, loud wails echoing around the common room. Remus tensed for a moment before the werewolf started soothing him, stroking his back and his hair and pressing kisses onto his forehead.

Sirius’ cries ceased after a few minutes — he never really could cry for too long when Remus was there to comfort him. His sobs faded into sniffles, and yet not once did Remus falter his movements.

“There we go,” the werewolf murmured. “Deep breaths, yeah?”

Sirius nodded shakily, forcing a few trembling breaths in and out. He did this for a few more minutes until he could feel himself stop trembling.

“Wanna tell me what happened?” Remus asked quietly. “Or do you just wanna sit here? I can read to you, if you’d like.”

Sirius shook his head. He should tell Remus. He deserved to know. “It’s nothing serious. Just…” He could head his voice getting shaky again, and Remus soothed him, pressing kisses onto his forehead. “Just a guy. He said some things to me, and… and yeah.”

He felt Remus tense from underneath him. “What? Which guy? What did he say?”

Sirius shrugged. “One of Regulus’ friends. The big, bulky one with the brown hair. He insulted me. And. Called me a fag.”

“Fucker.” Remus’ grip tightened around his waist. “I know him. I had to work on a project with him before in Potions. I’ll talk to him about this.”

Sirius sighed, sniffling a little. “No, it’s okay. I’m okay now.”

“Clearly it’s not okay.” The werewolf kept brushing through his hair, massaging his scalp. “But anything I can do to help?”

Sirius smiled softly. “You already are, by being here.” He paused. “And maybe you could read to me?”

Remus huffed a laugh. “Of course.”

And the next day, if that same Slytherin who insulted Sirius walked into the Great Hall with a broken nose and a black eye, Remus would be totally innocent. He had nothing to do with it. Nothing at all.

Militat Omnis Amans: The Beginnings by edaen - 92k words, fantasy, werewolf!jk, vampire!jm, forbidden love, super slow burn but super worth it, JIKOOK IN THIS IS MY FAVORITE JIKOOK IN ANY FIC EVER EVER EVER, this is the ultimate all or nothing will freeze hell over for the other kind of love, and the way this is written is just so... how do i describe it. like you can just tell the author wanted to be very realistic with their feelings. you’ve seen the word count, this is SLOW burn. like you will legit feel their struggle to just be able to love each other and while it hurts, it’s also SO GLORIOUS. i love this one so much and if you like reading angst with happy ending but like cranked up to 200% then read this. bonus feels if you read the whole series

Until Dawn (series) by edaen - this is the long series where the previous one above is part of. highly rec if you love fantasy and you wanna read about bts being a rag tag group of supernatural beings fighting evil yay. also it makes the above fic more satisfying because you see more of jikook just being tgt and in love (with bonus angst because of course)

the night of sirius’ eighteenth birthday was as expected: absolutely batshit crazy. various gryffindors had been letting ravenclaws and hufflepuffs past the portrait hole all night and gryffindor common room was at max capacity.

remus was certain sirius didn’t even know most of the people there but he also knew that sirius didn’t care. he just wanted as many people there as possible having a good time; to the point where remus now realised that somehow, due to the crowds, he hadn’t actually seen sirius all night.

“i don’t dance.”

sirius groaned, “come on, moony!” his speech was a little slurred but he definitely had it more together than the other marauders.

james was standing on the table and had his school tie tied around his head like a bandanna, even though it was a weekend, and was desperately straining his voice in order to to sing along to blondie’s heart of glass but the key was far too high.

peter was sat in an armchair and for some unknown reason had his shirt off. he looked positively sick.

“i don’t like blondie,” remus replied, smiling.

sirius gasped, “how dare you! okay wait, song is almost over.” he held a hand up for a moment, waiting for a track to change. when it did, david bowie’s rebel rebel was heard and sirius beamed.

“moony! it’s bowie! dance with me, come on! i’m the birthday boy i make the rules!”

remus sighed and downed the rest of his drink for confidence more than anything. he stood there, bobbing along awkwardly in the sea of students and trying not to watch sirius as he laughed and tossed his hair around and moved like it was what he was born to do. it made remus’ throat dry.

sirius took remus’s hands in his own and began spinning slowly, forcing remus to spin with him. remus had seen him do this before. all night, actually, with the multiple girls who, in that night, had fallen for the same stupid charm that remus had years ago.

he’d stopped counting the amount of girls who had tried it on with sirius. it just made his heart heavy, to see sirius dancing with them. it just acted as a reminder that boys dance with girls, not other boys.

although technically they were dancing now, but not in the same way. sirius had been far closer to them, it looked flirty. sirius wasn’t like that right now.

they were holding hands, though. remus silenced the wishful part of his brain, exhaled, and tried to just enjoy himself. sirius let go of his hands but only to place them on Remus’ shoulders, still singing loudly and jumping around. remus jumped a bit too.

“you having a good night?” remus shouted over the music. they were very close to wherever it was coming from.

sirius blinked, snapping out of whatever daydream he’d been in and grinned, “twelve!”

“what?” remus asked, laughing.

sirius just blinked at him, “huh?”

remus bit his lip slightly before leaning in close to sirius in order to talk directly into his ear. “i said are you having a good night?”

sirius laughed, “oh!” he leant back and gave him the thumbs up before resting his forearms on remus’ shoulders. they were close, now. really close. it made remus’ head spin. sirius moved a hand into remus’ hair and remus jumped back.

“sorry,” he said, quickly. “tired.” sirius blinked at him, cocking his head slightly but remus was already turning and leaving.

he walked up into the dormitory, collapsed into his bed, and sighed in frustration. maybe sirius had been having fun, but remus had suddenly found himself hurting.

there was a reason hadn’t acted on his feelings for sirius, and it wasn’t just because he was pretty sure sirius wasn’t gay, although admittedly that was a big part of it.

even if sirius was gay, remus couldn’t be with him. he knew that. he’d read it plenty of times. werewolves die alone. there were no records of werewolves ever having children or getting married, it didn’t happen. and even if it did, remus didn’t want to inflict that upon anyone.

being with a werewolf was shameful and it was disencouraged and it was enough to get you shunned from the wizarding world, if people found out. in short, remus was destined to hurt those he loved most.

it was better if he just hid his feelings, he’d been doing a bloody good job at it so far. it was better if sirius ended up with an attractive girl instead of him: a boy who was covered in scars, a bit too lanky, a bit a bit too thin, a bit too pale, and, above all, a werewolf.

sirius didn’t even knock before pushing the dormitory door open and disturbing his thoughts. without invitation, he flopped down next to remus on the bed, turning on his side to face him.

“hey, sorry if i overstepped back there. i thought— i was just trying to... sorry.”

“don’t apologise. you didn’t do anything wrong, i was just a bit... tired.”

sirius scoffed, “for someone who hides that they’re a werewolf, you’re a bloody awful liar.”

remus laughed slightly. “it wasn’t you, i promise. i didn’t mind i just...”

“yeah, well, probably should’ve asked before invading your personal space like that.”

“yeah, because it’s not like sirius black to invade peoples personal space.”

sirius chuckled and elbowed him lightly. “shut up.”

remus turned on his side to face sirius and instantly regretted it. their noses were mere inches apart. the bed was definitely big enough for them to be further away from each other than this but remus was too nervous to move away. sirius stayed put as well.

“do you want me to leave?” sirius asked, quietly.

“do you want to?”

sirius kissed him. remus didn’t register it at first, they were so close that he barely had to move at all. remus pushed him away.

“i’m so sorry—” sirius said, sitting up.

“no, i— you’re drunk.”

“not very.”

“no,” remus said, more firmly this time, “you’re not thinking straight.” he rolled his eyes when sirius cocked an eyebrow. “sirius, you don’t know you’ll still want this when you’re sober. i’m... sirius you deserve better than me and—”

“remus,” sirius whispered, his eyes sad.

“no, just, not when you’re drunk, please think this through when you’re sober. please.”

sirius nodded, “fine.” with that, he went to bed.

“moony? you awake?”

remus opened his eyes drearily and checked his watch. five in the morning, whatever sirius wanted better be bloody good. “i am now.”

sirius crawled into his bed and placed a silencing charm before taking his hands in his face and kissing him.

when he pulled away, remus blinked at him, slowly. “what?”

“i’m sober. you told me to think it through, remember?”

remus’ brain was having a hard time waking up, eventually, however, it did. “oh.”

“yes, oh. i’ve had a crush on you since we were fifteen. you told me to think it through but i didn’t need to. so, i guess the only question is what do you want?”

remus looked at him. his brain was working at a million miles an hour, his heart was possibly going faster than that. “i want this.” he kissed him, properly this time.

POV: I was supposed to write a little one paragraph rant abt this idea I had but then it became longer.

I just had the BEST idea for some super adorable Teddy Lupin angst 🥺♥️ ahhh it would star Tonks as a icon who’ll teach Teddy abt gender identity and sexuality (cuz I mean I feel like gender identity is complicated enough as it is but when you’re a metamorphmagus, it’s like a million times more complicated) and then Remus and Sirius will start dating cuz Remus and Tonks are divorced. I haven’t decided yet if Remus is gay or not but if Remus is gay it’s gonna be SUPER angsty but in a background way cuz of the internalized homophobia that lead him to marry tonks and tonks feeling used but Teddy’s a kid and Tonks is an amazing parent so she won’t tell Teddy all of this stuff. Anyway Teddy is mad cuz Sirius is “taking” his dad and also Teddy is NOT a werewolf but I think he’ll have little symptoms like maybe he gets some muscle pain or smth around the full moon but his dad doesn’t know

I’m debating whether Teddy should be like 7, 8, 10, or a teenager. But if I do make him a teen, then I’ll have to include his shitty mental health (sorry I decided that’s a mandatory part of being a teenager in my fic) but I’ll get to explore his sexuality 🤔 anyway yeah I want Teddy to be kinda moody and just argue / ignore his dad more and more and then Remus doesn’t realize that its bc of Sirius cuz Remus has low self esteem and bc communication between dads and kids isn’t always the best

The endgame will be Teddy/Victoire but Teddy is def not gonna be straight (I think maybe he’ll be bi / pan and I haven’t decided if I want to make him be nb or not. Tonks will use she/they pronouns but only a bit after the divorce bc… it’s complicated.) anyway Teddy and Victoire are gonna be friends since they were kids but they’ll date other people first before they end up together.

Sirius is trying to get to know Teddy and Teddy is annoyed at his dad inviting Sirius over all the time so Teddy is like “ok imma go to Victoire’s house” and later Sirius sees a picture of Vic / it comes up in convo that Vic is part Veela and makes a comment like “atta boy” or “damn, she’s gonna be a heartbreaker huh” or smth else like that (Sirius is gay btw) and Teddy is gonna be SO PISSED like how fucking dare u objectify her, she’s a CHILD, and her heritage doesn’t mean she wants to be subjected to the fucking male gaze!!!! Anyway he won’t say everything but he’ll be mad and be like no. And Sirius will just laugh him off and in that moment Teddy will decide that he DESPISES Sirius 💕 he already didn’t like him for dating his dad, but now he hates him. Also Teddy is petty like me and is like fine imma go to my room 😤 when Remus and Sirius are being super annoying and before Remus used to go check on Teddy when Teddy went to his room annoyed (or Teddy would come down later and Remus would be waiting for him and they’d reconcile and have hot chocolate together) but now Remus is just talking to Sirius downstairs and Teddy’s like he doesn’t care abt me 😭😭😭 and cries into his pillow and then morphs the redness away and then he’s annoyed that his dad can’t tell that he was crying

Meanwhile remus is wondering why Teddy is acting the way he is but chalks it up to him getting older / starting to become a teen (again, idk how old he is. I feel like make 9 or 10? He could be a preteen cuz that might fit best with the storyline but also I don’t want him to be at Hogwarts all the time yk, that comes later) and Remus is sad that he doesn’t think Teddy talks to him as much anymore. He pretends it doesn’t hurt when one day Teddy says that he wants to go back to his mom’s place in the middle of a week he was supposed to spend with Remus

Teddy just feels like he’s losing his dad, and sometimes he wants to say smth but then he hears his dad downstairs, laughing with Sirius, and Remus just sounds so happy that Teddy feels shitty begrudging him that happiness. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel what he feels. So no, Teddy doesn’t want them to break up anymore but he can’t stand watching his dad slip away. Because he feels like his dad doesn’t love him anymore. Or maybe he does, but once upon a time, his priority was Teddy. Now, he loves Sirius more. And that’s okay, Teddy thinks, wiping his tears away. It’s okay because Sirius makes his dad so happy and his dad never used to smile so wide. Teddy can’t make his dad that happy. He feels his dad would choose Sirius over him, so he doesn’t want to make him chose.

But he can’t stop crying and he’s tired and being at his dad’s place isn’t fun anymore because there’s no more hot chocolate and reading together quietly and talking about everything as they cook together and eat together. No, now it’s just Teddy sitting quietly while his dad and Sirius talk about stupid grown up stuff that Teddy doesn’t care about. It’s not that Teddy doesn’t understand what they’re talking about, he does, it’s just boring, because who cares about Wizengamot or Dumbledore or whatever? He just wanted to tell his dad about the science project he did last week, about the bit of accidental magic he’d done when he was over at Grandma Andy’s house, about the way he’d learned to braid Niki’s hair. But no, Sirius and Remus were talking about some “Marlene McKinnon” or whatever her name was. Teddy honestly couldn’t care less.

He can’t keep asking to go to his friends’ house after school every time he’s at his dad’s, he knows it. He hates asking his dad to drive or fly him there because then Sirius wants to tag along, or even if Sirius isn’t there his dad will make comments like “oh that’s the bakery Sirius recommended” and it takes all of Teddy’s power to keep his mouth shut.

He asks to go back to his mom’s place, and Dad calls his mom and Teddy is hoping that his mom will say yes — and she does! Dad agrees to take him back. The drive over is silent until he asks Teddy if everything’s okay and for a second Teddy wants to burst into tears and tell him everything. But no, Teddy isn’t going to be that selfish and childish. He just nods, and the moment passes.

When Teddy gets to his mom’s house, she seems a little worried but she just smiles and hugs him. Later, Teddy’s in his room, crying — maybe he should have stayed at his dad’s place and tried to spend as much time as he could with his dad before his dad decided he didn’t want to see Teddy anymore. Tonks walks in on Teddy crying and is so concerned. Teddy tries to say he’s fine but it’s clearly not convincing his mom, not with the sobs and the big tears rolling down his face. He makes her swear not to tell his dad and then it spills out of him. Tonks hugs him and comforts him. Later, they tell him that he should try to talk to his dad, but Teddy just says no, and Tonks sighs, conflicted.

At another (maybe earlier??) point in the story tonks will come home / come pick up Teddy even tho she had smth to do (like maybe w a friend or at work) and even tho they don’t tell Teddy, Teddy overhears and when Teddy makes a comment like “sorry I make u skip ___” she’s like no don’t be silly, u always come first and Teddy is crying and he’s like okay at least my mom won’t leave me 😭♥️

Also tonks is demiromantic in this. She good friends with Charlie, who is ace, and if this takes place when Teddy is a little older (ie above the age of 10) then this fic will also include Teddy’s sexuality crisis 😝 I haven’t decided yet if tonks would have a love interest in this. If they do, it’ll be someone who they’ve been close friends with for a long time and that Teddy already knows rly well (not Charlie tho). And Tonks is super worried abt how Teddy will take it but Teddy is surprisingly okay with it?? It’ll also happen at least a year (or two) after Remus/Sirius start dating so Teddy will be a bit older, and also the dynamic will be different cuz Teddy already knows Tonks’ partner rly well. And that will also lowkey annoy Remus cuz Remus is like??? Why is Teddy so antagonistic towards my bf but not Tonks’

Also at some point Teddy will either be friends w someone or be dating a guy and will mention the person and Remus either won’t know who they are or won’t know they’re dating and then will find out and be like :((( i wish my son would tell me things

If Harry is Teddy’s godfather in this, then maybe Remus and Sirius start dating around the time James Sirius Potter is born so Teddy going through a lot of stuff which is partially why he reacts so badly?? Idk

Oh also Sirius and Tonks are NOT related in this lmao

Also Sirius makes a comment about Hogwarts houses and Teddy just gives him the death stare like “My grandma was a Slytherin” and Sirius quickly tries to backtrack like “oh umm Slytherin isn’t that bad!! They’re, uh, ambitious and stuff!! they’re better than Hufflepuff??” And then Teddy’s face looks thunderous and he’s just like “my mom is a hufflepuff” and turns and leaves the room and Sirius is just like fuck I keep messing up, this kids absolutely hates me huh

Also cue cringey attempts of Sirius thinking he’s relatable and a Cool Uncle when rly Teddy just wants Sirius to leave him alone and let him read

What house should Teddy be in??? Personally headcanons of him for me usually have him in either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff but I feel like purely out of spite he wouldn’t be in Gryffindor so maybe Ravenclaw?? Idk

Victoire is obv a Ravenclaw ✨

Anyway yeah obv at some point Teddy and Remus will reconcile and then later he’ll kinda bond with Sirius but !!! THE ANGST! THE DRAMA ✨♥️
