Sirius: hey moons, can i copy your divination essay? Remus: what do I get in return? Sirius: Well I'd offer you my first-born child, but if all goes to plan that will be yours anyway. Remus: ...what? Sirius: you heard me.

"Seems like all we do is feel around for the soft parts of each other so we know where to put the knife," Remus whispers, afraid as he always is of something in the greater world to hear them, to take this from them.
"That’s what all of them do, though, isn’t it?" Sirius' voice vibrates through the leg he's resting on.
"Who?"
Sirius looks up, clear grey eyes, 20 storms condensed in a good man. "Lovers."

The Grand Proposal - Part 1
Do y'all remember when I mentioned a hippie Remus x scientist Sirius one shot I was writing? Well, I've finally figured out what has screwed with my ability to finish it - there's too much of an idea to fit it into a single one shot, so here's me splitting it into two parts!!
Masterpost here!
Wednesday
“Hey, could you help me with something?” Remus asked, as Lily arranged and rearranged her expansive crystal selection. She glanced up at him, arching an eyebrow.
“Right now? I’m kind of busy working. You’re distraction enough. A welcome distraction, but still.” She corrected herself, Remus laughing lightly.
“No, not now, but…” He trailed off, thinking carefully.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, I just- I need to go ring shopping.”
“You buy all of your rings off me, dumbass.” Remus watched her blankly for a moment.
“Not that kind of ring; an engagement ring. For Sirius.” Lily’s eyes widened, crystals straight back out of her hands.
“Remus!” She said excitedly, eyes sparkling. “Proposing? That’s amazing!” Remus smiled back, shrugging.
“I love him. It’s about time. Also, he’s never going to do it, I don’t think he knows whether or not I believe in the institution of marriage.” They said calmly, Lily laughing. Remus looked at her expectantly.
“I know fuck all about engagement rings though, so… help?”
“Oh, right! Of course! We can go looking on Friday?”
“I need to ask Euphemia and Fleamont, too.”
"Why? They love you, it's not like you need to listen to tradition." She said with a slight laugh, and Remus smiled, rolling his eyes.
"I'm well aware, Lils, but I want to ask them about this."
"Right, okay, it's your proposal, sorry."
Lily’s work was pretty much abandoned after that, talking about rings. Lily was the expert, and he’d been considering proposing for such a long time, he was almost entirely sure that Sirius would say yes.
Almost.
The thought was still nerve wracking as fuck, but it was worth it, for Sirius.
Sirius was worth everything.
-
Sirius couldn’t focus.
He had the same thoughts circulating in his mind that he really wanted to explore, desperately, more than anything else, but instead he was stuck at a fucking microscope. He had never been so irritated by a microscope in his life. It was very rare for Sirius to want to abandon his work, so he had a feeling that James would have a conversation with him if he tried.
“Hey, Prongs?”
He was right. James immediately glanced up at him.
“Yeah?”
“D’you reckon Remus… likes marriage, as a concept? Or, not likes. Appreciates? Would want?” James’ face shifted, and Sirius could feel himself turning red.
“Thinking about marrying him?” James asked with a smile, and Sirius shushed him quickly.
“I don’t need everybody talking about it!” Sirius whispered. The lab knew enough about the way his brain stopped working whenever Remus so much as breathed near him. “But… yeah. I’d marry them in a heartbeat, but I need to know that he’d want to first!”
“You haven’t had this conversation?” Sirius huffed a laugh, shaking his head once.
“No! We never really thought about it, but I- I’d love to be able to call him my spouse.” Sirius answered.
“Well, there’s no harm in asking.”
“What, just proposing without knowing what he’d say?” Sirius asked, confused, and James rolled his eyes.
“No, just asking how they feel about marriage, if they’d ever want to. Then you know.”
“Right, yeah, that works.”
So that’s what he did.
He waited until that evening, and brought up marriage. The two of them were sat on the sofa together, a book resting in Remus’ free hand, one arm around Sirius. He framed it like he was curious, just wondering, trying to make sure Remus didn’t figure out that he was trying to gauge if he could propose.
“Hey, Rem?”
“Mhm?” Remus hummed, turning and glancing at Sirius.
“Would you ever want to get married? In the future, I mean.” He felt Remus tense, and panicked. He’d freaked Remus out, shit. In a sudden attempt to save himself, Sirius started doing what he did best. Talking. “Not that I- I didn’t mean I wanted to, necessarily, but-“
“Yeah.” Remus interjected. “I could see us getting married at some point. In the future.” He added on to the end, and Sirius couldn’t help the way his heart sunk, just a little. Not yet.
Still, it wasn’t off the table. That was promising?
“Yeah, yeah, the future. The distant future.” Sirius said calmly, surprisingly good at hiding his feelings. Remus nodded, resting his head on Sirius’, and the matter was dropped for the evening.
It doesn’t mean James didn’t hear a shit ton about it the next day.
Thursday
“Padfoot, you alright?”
“Hm?” Sirius looked up from where he… really should have been working, zoned out. “No, yeah, I’m fine. It’s just…”
“I’m assuming Remus doesn’t want to get married?”
“No, they do, but- they said in the future.” James practically sighed then, pinching the bridge of his nose as Sirius frowned at him.
“The future could mean literally anything, why are you moping?”
“I’m not! I- no, I am. I’m fucking moping, god.” He dropped his head into his hands. “He didn’t even say he didn’t want to get married!” Sirius said with a groan. “I’m a loser.” He said, voice muffled by his hands.
“I’d say that’s a sign to propose.” James answered with a shrug, sitting in the chair opposite Sirius, who moved his hands to frown at James, confused.
“How?”
“He didn’t say distant future, did he?”
“Well, no, but-“
“The future could mean next year! Also, an engagement isn’t a marriage! If they want to get married at some point, they’ll say yes.” James shrugged. “I’ll help you plan it? I mean, you two have been together for years, it’s about time!” Sirius thought carefully for a moment. James wasn’t wrong. He loved Remus, and the future didn’t necessarily mean decades.
“I need to get a ring, then.”
“We can go on Saturday?”
“Okay. And I want to talk to Hope about it.” Sirius added decisively.
He was actually going to fucking do it.
He was going to propose.
Remus would never see it coming.
-
Remus dropped by Euphemia and Fleamont’s on the Thursday, while Sirius was at work. The door swung open, Remus offering Euphemia a smile as she beamed back.
“Remus, lovely! Come in, come in!” He pulled him into a hug, and Remus still wasn’t prepared for the way the air could get knocked out of his lungs by her hugs. Still, he smiled and hugged her back, unable to stop the flood of warmth they felt towards her.
Once they had gotten in and sat in front of them, he wasn’t wasting any time.
”So, what brings you here?” Fleamont asked, Remus somehow having ended up with a cup of tea. Christ, it was like the Potters had some kind of domestic magic Remus hadn't heard of.
“Well… I want to propose to Sirius.” He answered, watching as their eyes widened. “I know I’m not exactly… traditional.” There was literally no way on earth to define him, so that was a tad bit of an understatement. “But I did want to talk to the two of you about it first. You two mean the world to him. So I guess I’m asking for your… blessing.” They finished, turning to observe the two of them. Euphemia seemed stunned into silence, Fleamont gaining an increasingly growing smile. Okay, good signs.
“Remus, of course you have our blessing. You make Sirius happy.” Remus felt a light blush tint their cheeks, smiling back at the two of them. As much as he knew that was true, he had seen it himself plenty of times, but it didn't make it any less comforting to hear. “When are you planning on proposing?”
“Soon.” He answered promptly. “I’m going ring shopping tomorrow.”
He was going to propose as soon as possible. Mostly because he had an inkling that Sirius was planning the same thing, if that conversation from the night before was anything of note. They just had to hope that Sirius had been slightly put off by their injection of the word future.
-
Sirius had a new resolve.
He was going to propose as soon as he could.
Honestly, he had no clue where the motivation came from; a few hours of overthinking actually seemed to have worked, for once, and he wasn’t going to complain. Instead of working for the rest of the day, he made a plan for the Saturday. Talk to Hope in the morning, then meet James at noon and look for a ring. The perfect plan… mostly.
Apart from the fact that it meant he had to lie to Remus.
Remus. Moony. His Moony, who he literally found it impossible to lie to. There was a time that he’d told Remus what his fucking birthday present was, because it had arrived while they were home and they had asked. How he was ever going to hide a whole bloody proposal, he had no idea. Still, it was for Remus. Surely he could lie for Remus?
Well, he had to. He didn’t have any other choice.
With that in mind, he pulled his phone out and quickly tapped out a message for him. Start the plan early.
‘Going out for lunch with James on Saturday, thought we could go for dinner in the evening? Love you xXx’
Okay, he could lie over text. Perfect. He was also technically actually going for lunch with James, he was just stopping by a few jewellery shops in the process. And Hope’s house. Still, it wasn’t a lie, he just… didn’t disclose. it was fine. Absolutely fine.
He was going to be fine keeping it from Remus. At least he could lie to himself? If he could do that, he could do it for Remus.
His ability to do so was tested later that evening, which Sirius really didn't appreciate.
James had messaged him with a list of jewellery shops they could go to, Sirius pulling out his phone and smiling as the two of them ate. Perfect. He was getting more excited by the second. Remus arched an eyebrow, curious. Sirius looked up at them, elaborating.
“It’s James. He’s sending me… places we can go.” He hesitated briefly, stopping himself from saying fucking ring shops. He was already screwing it up, and he wasn’t about to let it happen.
“Ah, right. Where are you thinking of going?”
“Not sure yet.” Sirius answered quickly, flinching at the suddenness of the words. Remus picked up on everything, and he had probably picked up on that too. Still, he didn’t say anything about it, moving on with the conversation, something about planet alignments, as Sirius tried to force himself not to panic. It wasn’t really lying if he was doing something good. All he had to do was keep telling himself that.
He was going to propose if it was the last thing he did.

(inspired in part by my last magic poll and in party by Halloween Town 2)
In an effort to prank Sirius, James vanishes his leather jacket. Sirius is fuming, but James shrugs it off. "It's just in the place where all vanished things go. Go get it back."
Of course, no one goes to the place where vanished things go. it's as good as lost if you vanish it. They say it's guarded by a ferocious magical creature. Nonetheless, Sirius goes to get his jacket.
He finds the Place of Vanished Things, and living there among piles of items and (let's be honest) more messes and broken things than anything, is a tall man with curly hair.
He's wearing Sirius's jacket.

REMUS BEING AN ACTOR FOR AN ESCAPE ROOM
So I was scrolling through Tik Tok (where all my great ideas are born) and one of those ‘Escape room gone wrong’ appeared on my fyp
And it hit me
Remus being an escape room actor, playing some axe murderer or smth idk
And Sirius dragged James to an escape room cause he thinks those aren’t that scary and he could finish them in like five minutes
But
Sirius doesn’t even last a minute, the moment it start he freaks out, just he tries to hide it
He and James go through the puzzles until Remus shows up and Sirius had a legit heart attack. He screams bloody murder and sprints away, Remus right after him ( James gets left behind cause he is unfazed and continues the puzzle 🤣)
Sirius locks himself in a cupboard by accident and then he has a panic attack cause he is claustrophobic and the door literally won’t open
Remus tries to open it, but it’s stuck, so he thinks Sirius blocked it. He wants to leave to go after James, but then he hears Sirius frantically call out and sob, so Remus gently tries to calm him and make him move away from the door. The moment Sirius does that, Remus kicks it down and comforts Sirius through his panic attack.
He then takes Sirius to the back room where the actors usually stay and gives him his number.
BOOM
Should I write a oneshot like this?

Wonder
Sometimes, on clear nights like tonight, as the air was chilling around him in huffed out breaths, he wondered what the point of it all was. Of the rules we follow, the lives we build for ourselves or the reason we find ourselves on this planet in the first place. The walk home from work had taken a very philosophical detour.
Sirius paused on the street, the glow from a living room window catching his eye. The fire was lit, bathing the room in a soft glow, while a father and his son laughed and twirled as they hung ornaments on an oversized Christmas tree.
The scene was so full of warmth and love, it defrosted his speculating heart. A smile tugged at his lips.
Taking a deep breath in, Sirius walked up the path towards the front door of the house. Pushing open the slightly chipped door, he could finally hear the laughter, smell the burning wood mixed with gingerbread.
“Dad!”  his son skidded into the hall greeting him with unbridled excitement that only Christmas could bring, “We saved the star for you!”
Sirius felt his smile widen, while he unwrapped himself from his layers.  Love.  Love was what it was all for.

Oh baby
Tumblr media
Masterlist
wolfstar x fem!reader
word count: 943
warning(s): pregnancy, fluff, peter is actually a good guy but barely mentioned.
Tumblr media
“Do you ever wonder who he’ll look like?” I ask Sirius.
“Oh, Me. No doubt.” He responds while caressing my stomach.
“Yeah, right.” Remus says from the kitchen.
He walks out and sits on the other side of me.
“He’s obviously going to look like me.” Remus continues.
I roll my eyes at the statement. They’re going to be very upset men when the baby comes out looking like me. He’ll probably have Sirius attitude though.
Something that I will always wonder is who’s sperm got me pregnant. Weird thought, I know, but I can’t help it. Like, who’s sperm was fastest? I bet I could make them argue about it.
“Hey, guys?”
“What’s up babe?” Remus asks.
“Who’s sperm do you think got me pregnant?”
There’s a pregnant (no pun intended) pause.
“Well, it was obviously mine.”
“OBVIOUSLY??!!” Sirius blurts out.
“Yeah? We both know that my swimmers are better than yours.”
And then the argument ensues for the next five minutes. I admit it was very funny at first, but now I’m hungry.
“Who would love to be my favorite husband and get me food?”
“I thought you had no favorites?” Remus states with a smile pulling in the corner of his mouth.
“I don’t, but whoever gets Orion food will be my first official favorite.”
Only a second passes before both of them apparate. About ten seconds later Sirius is back in the room.
“What is it you said you wanted, my love?” He says with an over the top grin.
“I didn’t, but since you actually came back.. I want bangers and mash with exactly 3 bangers from that one in the hole place in London, Butterbeer from The Three Broomsticks, and Ginger Newts from Madam Puddifoot’s.”
He winks at me before apparating again.
Tumblr media
I feel a kick as I sing Orion’s favorite song. I can’t help but smile as I continue singing while laying my hand on my stomach to feel him. A few seconds later I feel another kick, but on the other side of my stomach. That can’t be right. Maybe I’m just buggin.
Another kick stops my train of thought. That’s it. I grab the house phone while also grabbing my coat. As soon as my coat is halfway on, I dial Lily’s number.
“Uhm, hi?” Lily says as she picks up the phone.
“Hey babe! What you up to?
“Oh, just was in the bed with James..”
“Baby making?” I ask with a smirk.
“Maybe.” She responds, stretching out the last syllable.
“Aw I’m sorry. Would you hate me so if I asked you guys to wait one more day?”
“A little. Depends on why.”
“I’m kinda, sorta, maybe about to give birth and my husbands aren’t here.
In no time her and James are outside with their car. I sit in the back seat and apologize profusely. I’m surprised we don’t get in a wreck with how fast Lily was driving.
James helps me out of the car once we’re outside of the hospital.
“So.. any chance you guys will name the baby after me if you have a girl?” I poke at James.
“You’re already the godmother.” He says as we walk inside.
“And?”
We walk up to the counter before he can answer. Can’t believe he’s trying to get out of naming their daughter after me.
“Hello! Y/n Lupin-Black. I talked to Doctor Pettigrew on the phone.”
“Right! Just sit in the wheelchair and someone will assist you in a sec.”
It takes but a few moments before I’m being wheeled off to the room.
I sit for about five minutes before I see a head poke through the door.
“How’s my favorite patient?” She asks as she sits on the stool next to the bed.
“This baby isn’t due for another week, Laura.” I respond, clearly irritated.
“So fantastic? Great! We’re just gonna do a quick ultrasound.”
She puts the gel on my stomach and picks up the transducer.
I sigh before speaking.
“How’s Peter?”
“He’s fine. In the break room right now in case you do end up popping tonight.”
“Ha ha.” I express dryly.
As she moves the transducer around my stomach I see her face scrunch up in confusion.
“What? What’s wrong?” I ask. I feel my heart drop to my stomach. It can’t be anything too bad, right? If there was something wrong with the baby.
“Well, pretty lady. It seems like you’re either having twins or an alien with four feet.”
I don’t get enough time to react before I hear rapid footsteps come into the room. Sirius is holding a brown bag while holding Remus’ hand. They look at me and I can’t help the biggest smile from spreading across my face.
“We’re having twins.” I say to them.
“YOU’RE HAVING TWINS??” I hear from the hall.
In comes James and Lily.
“One of them better have my middle name.” James says.
“Just because you have to endure the middle name Fleamont doesn’t mean one of our sons should have to.” Remus says with a laugh.
“I resent that.” James pouts.
“Besides. As much as I appreciate you guys driving me here, I already have their names picked out.”
Tumblr media
After 31 hours of labor, I finally get to meet my perfect boys, Orion Reggie Lupin-Black and John Apollo Lupin-Black.
“I must ask.. Why Apollo?” James says as he hold John.
“First moon landing, moon, Remus.”
They all pause and just look at me.
“I’m naming the next one.” He says.
“The next one?? You must be having it. Now, give me my baby since you decided to be mean.”

Wait Minnie and Poppy adopting Remus I love it.
Give me Remus telling them that he was dating Sirius and Minnie isn’t surprised because Sirius tells her absolutely everything that she may as well have adopted him too and Poppy is absolutely not surprised because of the amount of time that she had noticed Sirius trying to sneak into the hospital wing during full moons and had just turned a blind eye.
Give me Remus still getting awful nightmares from his father letting him get attacked and walking out and Hope giving him up at an age where he could remember everything, and Poppy rushing in and comforting him.
Give me them helping move Remus into his first flat after school (with Sirius), and giving Sirius the ‘if you hurt him’ talk.
Give me Sirius nervously asking for their blessing to propose to Remus, at the same time that Remus nervously tells them that he was going to ask Euphemia and Fleamont for their blessing to propose to Sirius, and just biting back smiles.
Give me both of them giving toasts at the wedding, and when it came to the dance, they just did two, so they’d both get a chance.
Give me Remus desperately trying to navigate all of the distrust during the first war, but having parents that are his rocks, giving him advice.
Give me Minnie knocking some sense into Sirius when he starts to suspect Remus during the war by shouting at him for a few hours, and helping them heal and make it through everything.
Give me Remus crying to them when he realised that Sirius was drifting away, when his missions were draining the life out of him, when they lost Marlene.
Give me Minnie and Poppy noticing the inconsistencies in Peter’s stories when Remus would talk about it, and saving James and Lily’s lives.
Give me Remus being adopted by the two most supportive and caring people he had ever known.
I need to write a fic of this

cw: grief
-
remus lupin only realised he loved sirius black when it was too late.
the sad truth about life, about life in a war, is that it is, outright and simply, tragic. remus knew that. he had, in fact, known that his life would be hard far sooner than any of his friends. remus had grown aware that he was going to suffer, no matter what, because - and no matter how many times his parents tried telling him otherwise - remus was, outright and simply, a monster.
no matter what his friends said when they found out, or when they became animagi for his sake, remus was still and would always be, a monster. misfit. an outlier. improper for this world.
and then, on top of it all, there was sirius black. sirius black, the supposedly noble heir who was rooming with remus, james and peter. sirius black, who, in their first conversation, called remus a half-breed and was therefore smacked (quite hard) by james. sirius black, who was so oblivious to the world in which he lived in and to the prejudice his family was rooted on, it was painful to watch. sirius black, who loved leather jackets and muggle music. sirius black, who was smart and charismatic, who was ingenious and had a mind full of mischief.
remus thought about the sleepless nights in which sirius would slither over to his bed, the hours spent talking about anything and everything that came to mind, lost mumbles of nothings that felt like the whole world in the moment. remus thought about sirius’ face when he got his first vinil. he had let his hair grow to his shoulder at the time, waves of obsidian framing his face as if he were a sculpture, a work of art too beautiful and tragic to be veridical - but he was. remus remembered the way his light grey eyes lit up, a matching set of two moons, except remus would gladly drown in these ones, and gleefully accept any chance to stare into them instead of fearing them.
bantering. teasing. flirting. crying. fighting.
the days after fulls in which he’d wake up in the hospital wing to sirius snoring softly beside him. the day they sneaked out together, huddled close under a blanket by the great lake, watching both the sky and the mirror made by the black lake’s impeccable surface. and sirius had pointed out his constellation with such a well-mixed concoction of regret and love, beautiful and dangerous, mesmerising and poisonous.
yet remus only realised how much he loved him when he found out he was too far to be reached.
remus only realised he loved sirius the day james and lily potter were found dead. the day wormy was killed and a man - sirius black - was locked up. because he was the one who killed them.
remus only realised he loved sirius when he looked at his picture in the newspaper - desperate eyes and desperate features, sharp jaw and shoulder length hair that framed his face like a sculpture, - too beautiful and tragic for the world to see. remus realised when he chocked on a sob, when he fell to his knees, because, just like that, he had lost the only thing he had ever had in his life. james and lily and peter.
and sirius.
sirius black, the boy named after a star, who was a tragedy embodied into a mischievous smirk and glinting eyes. sirius, the star that took the moon with it when it became a supernova.
remus wished he had never fallen in love with sirius black, he wished the first betrayal was enough for him to leave, leave and never come back into the delicate embrace of sirius’ arms. he hated him.
and part of remus wished it hadn’t been too late. but it had. it was too late and remus was left picking up the pieces of something he didn’t have, mourning the end of a relationship that didn’t even get to start.
bantering. teasing. flirting. crying. fighting. falling apart.

so. yeah.

Past
@wolfstarmicrofic - Jan 19th - 140 Words
_
Hidden touches and evasive glances.
The precise preparation of Remu's favorite tea, his favorite book, his favorite seat in the common room, his favorite anything. All stored in Sirius' head to do Remus a favor, to catch his eye.
But that was in the past.
Much further before that, they were two young boys who met on a train, one shy, just separated from a loving family. The other was excited, happy to finally be free from his abusive one. They made friends with 2 other boys and the journey could begin.
But now?
Now the four boys are all in one room, partying.
The wedding has been planned for a long time, and Remus and Sirius are only thinking about today and the future they can spend together. The hidden love and the platonic friendship are in the past.
But Sirius still remembers every one of Remus favourites.

after the prank, remus didn’t talk to sirius for a month. the next full moon came, and james and peter accompanied him alone, remus refusing for sirius to see him. if he was being honest, it wasn’t as effective with just the three of them.
the next night he was asleep in the hospital wing, james and peter back in the dorm after mcgonagall and madam pomfrey leveled half a dozen threats of what would happen if they tried to sneak back in.
remus woke up in the middle of the night, feeling a weight on his body. he opened his eyes to see padfoot in dog form sleeping on him, and despite himself felt a warm tuck in his chest.
it would be a couple more weeks until they actually spoke with each other, but after that night padfoot would wait til the others fell asleep and then join remus in his bed in his animagus, remus silently stroking his fur, comforted.
