“Ace had his own adventures, and I have mine,” Luffy mumbles, drifting off again. “You have yours, too. I don’t want you to miss them. I don’t want you to miss anybody. Or to… be here when you’d rather be…”
“Luffy—”
“Free,” Luffy manages. “Sabo’s supposed to be free.”

Hey Franky, how are you?
I adore your style of writing. I confess that I'm not a big fan of Marco... Sorry, it's not really that I hate him, just that for me, he's a bit like a protective big brother
So, I'd like if possible (and if requests are open) a one shot or hc (it's up to you) on Marco who's kind of a brotherly figure for a reader who just got out of celestial dragon slavery and if you could add Ace and Sabo (more about Sabo) since he hates nobility, I would like to see how he would react (in a love context) or just how he would like to protect her or something
if you take for Sabo as the reader will become his girlfriend, it will be an nsfw towards the end
Thank you very much, and have a good day. Take care of yourself ☺
Thank you so much! and yeah I know Marco can be a choice bless him.
I don't write female reader and I'm not doing n.sfw atm so I hope you still enjoy this!

Marco
Thanks to Marco you didn’t have the searing brand for the rest of your life, you’d escaped before the awful thing had healed and marked enough on its own and you were forever grateful for the older man.
Marco tended to treat you like a younger sibling. Always sitting with you when you were alone, helping you get into the swing of things. Helping you make friends and fit in with the rest of the crew.
“Ready for your trip with Ace?” He asked as he sipped his drink and you shuffled the deck of cards, munching on a piece of pineapple, sharing Marco’s evening treat as you started to deal the cards.
“Yeah, I think it’ll be nice.” You said with a nod, popping another piece of fruit into your mouth, seeing the lazy smile on his lips as he looked at you fondly.
“You both better not get in too much trouble yoi.” He warned, giving you a friendly nudge and you rolled your eyes.
“Would you say that to anyone else or am I special?” you asked and he just gave you a knowing smile.
“Alright! What are we playing kiddos?” Marco and you both looked up seeing Thatch come and join you both.
You enjoyed playing cards with them, you enjoyed how Marco had taken you under his wing. You had a feeling the normally laid-back zoan had told Ace he had to be on his best behavior.
Tumblr media
Ace
The next day you were packed and waiting for Ace.
You had a feeling he was having a prolonged and last-minute goodbye with Marco. You leaned on the rails and sighed, staring at the bright blue sky, watching fluffy white clouds gently sail past, wishing you were already on the road to adventure. Excited by getting to ride on the striker with Ace.
“Sorry about that,” You turned and saw Ace, seeing the sheepish expression on his face as he itched his neck, his bag slung over his shoulder before he walked past you.
“Ready?” “Yeah!”
You had no idea this thing went as fast as it did, you gripped the sides for dear life as Ace let out a cackle of amusement at seeing your hands white knuckle. You couldn't even close your eyes, flying across the sea, bouncing over the waves.
“Acccceeeee!”
“Relax! I got this, I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you, don’t worry!” You leaned back and stared at his grinning face, how he winked at you.
He had been the one that found you escaping the Celestial Dragons, he’d brought you back to the ship, to Marco for help.
Ace had been the one that stayed at your bedside while you healed, while you ate and got your strength back.
You'd tried to thank him over and over but he’d always simply said “What are big brothers for?” and ruffled your hair.
Tumblr media
Sabo
Meeting Ace’s brother had been more than a surprise to you.
He was handsome, scars and all.
Maybe he dressed a little silly but it oddly suited him.
He’d introduced himself to you, holding your hand a little longer than was necessary for a handshake and it had made your heart race, beat faster in your chest as he spoke to you.
How you soaked up his voice, how you wanted to spend time with just Sabo. But you also didn’t want to get in the way of Ace and Sabo’s brotherly bonding time.
So when Sabo knocked on your door, the room you were staying in while you and Ace were here, you were a little shocked not to see the familiar freckled face.
“Where’s Ace?” You asked and cocked your head to one side, half expecting him to jump out.
“I thought it would be nice to get to know one another. If that's alright…” You tried not to nod your head so fast and give away just how cool you were about that.
Sitting on your bed, drinking cheap wine he’d brought out of wooden cups someone in the base had made themselves. It was simple, humble.
“Ace said you were an ex-slave..” The tone in his voice, the fire in his eyes when you nodded.
“I can’t wait till we burn their city to the ground, get revenge for everyone they messed with.” He balled his hands into fists. You watched as the anger washed over him, even if Ace wasn't his brother by blood you could tell they shared alot of views.
You placed your hand on his knee and offered him a small smile. “I’m okay now though,” “I’m glad, I’ve really enjoyed meeting you..”
Maybe it was the cheap wine, the dim lighting in the room, or just how much passion Sabo had running through his veins, his sense of justice but you were so utterly taken with him that you couldn't stop yourself leaning up and pressing your lips to his.
Marco and Ace were going to have alot to say to you and Sabo when they both found out you’d started a relationship…

hihi kaia! i love ur writing sm and was wondering if i could request a fic of childhood friends to lovers with sabo? maybe reader is also a noble and hates nobility, but one day meets sabo, becomes friends and he decides to introduce them to ace and luffy blahblah… then maybe they reunite in the revolutionary? idk i hope it’s not too complicated… honestly if it is, feel free to adjust however much u want, i’d just love to read ur interpretation of this :0 otherwise, u can also decline! thank u sm
hellooo, omg thank u sm! i’m glad you find enjoyment in my writing <3 i love that ppl are requesting sabo so much now, i love him; also thank u for being so patient :) also this came out much longer than i meant but oh well lmaooo
2.6k words, gn reader (no pronouns), sfw, angsty bc that's what i love, a bit of fluff if you squint hard enough (i tried), no major warnings although there is mention of a bit of violence & death. nothing big tbh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they say, “sit up straight,” and, “don’t eat with your elbows on the table”; to drive their point in, they tack on, “your form is atrocious, try again,” with a bit of, “are you truly my child? i have my doubts,” which doesn’t always hurt your feelings, but sometimes it stings a little too hard. and, more importantly, they always make sure to end with, “remember, in life, one must always know their place.”
you just didn’t know that it applied to you too.
stuck in the rut of routine, in the normalcy that is absolutely abnormal, you constantly disrupt your studies by daydreaming of escaping the stuffy confines of your home. you know you have it better than most, know that there are people who would kill — literally — to have even a crumb of the wealth your parents have. it doesn’t matter to you; none of it does. it never has, and possibly never will. on a day where your parents are off doing what nobles do with all of their free time, you sneak away, determined to enjoy the city outside of the tall wall that separates the masses.
as fate would have it, you see a familiar top hot and goggles with a mess of blond curls underneath; your curiosity piqued, you follow after him. you’ve always wondered why he snuck around like that, why he didn’t act like the other children — was he also disgusted with the absurd wealth that the nobles and monarchs hoarded? was he tired of formalities, of the life that was crafted for him without his input? was he also trying to achieve a similar dream as you? your legs carry you as fast as they can — you’re not very good at sneaking, and because he’s used to the journey, he does what he can to shake you off.
still, you’re determined. your stubbornness is the one attribute your parents could never stamp out of you, no matter how hard they tried — and, yes, they have tried. locking you away, not feeding you for days, hoping to quell whatever rebellious spirit you’ve developed — all in vain.
he takes several right turns before taking a left, and then disappears. you stand in the middle of a small clearing, surrounded by tall, thick trees; the sounds of neighboring forest frightening you a bit. you’re not used to wildlife like that, not used to being away from supervision, so this is all very new and exciting in a way. as you try to catch your breath, you never notice the soft footsteps; sabo twists your arm behind your back, eyes narrowed as he starts his interrogation.
“why are you following me? who sent you?” his hold tightens, making you wince, but you refuse to make a noise. lips pressed tightly, you shake your head, hoping he’ll get the hint that you don’t mean him harm. he doesn’t like that; doesn’t like that you aren’t talking, even with him holding you like this. and, because he isn’t inherently cruel, sabo releases you, pointing his weapon at you when you turn around and face him.
recognition shifts his features from accusatory to genuine surprise. “y/n? what are you doing here?” you rub your arm, still confused as to how sabo is able to move as fast as he can.
“i came to ask you the same thing,” you offer simply with a slight shrug of your shoulders. “i’ve always wondered why you always seem so…angry.”
your assertion gives him pause; he knows when he’s around the other nobles, his mask is nearly perfect — rarely are people able to see through the polite facade he puts on. but you, you see him; clearly and resolutely. it makes him uneasy.
“don’t worry, i’m not here to turn you in or anything,” you add quickly, rocking back and forth on your heels.
with narrowed eyes, sabo eventually lowers his weapon, considering your words seriously. “then why are you following me?”
frustrated with his inability to understand, you reiterate your earlier statement. “like i said,” you stomp your foot, “i came t—”
“on second thought, i don’t care. please leave, and don’t tell anyone you saw me here.” his mind made up, he gives you a prolonged look and runs off. it takes you a few hours, but you eventually make it back home, head spinning over the events of the day. your work unfinished, you don’t even blink when your mother barges into your room, yelling in a way that the other socialites in her circle would clutch their pearls over. the usual punishment occurs — a slap on the face, vicious words that cut into you repeatedly, the assertion that no child of hers will ever come back into her home looking disheveled as you did, and no supper.
you don’t care; it was worth it, you tell yourself. at night when you fall asleep, you dream of a forest and sabo.
the next time you follow him, you get a bit better at it; he catches you and tells you the same thing. to leave him alone and not come looking. so you ignore it and try again the next time he sneaks out. but, his treks beyond the city become more prolonged, and when he does come back, he doesn’t look happy at all. it’s then you suggest to your mother that you have a play date with him, and at first she’s apprehensive but who is she to deny such a reasonable request from you? especially since you never want to play with anyone anymore.
sabo’s home is similar to yours, with a softer color palette. nobles are extremely unoriginal when it comes to decorating, they tend to emulate popular trends, and right now it’s almost as if you’re standing in your own foyer. sabo says nothing until you’re escorted to his room and he shuts the door.
“why are you here?” he spins around to ask you, eyes narrowed, face flushed from exertion or annoyance — you’re not sure.
“this was the only way i could see you,” you say genuinely. “i think i understand you a little more.” he watches you move about, hands touching the surface of his desk, his books, you peer at his collection of pens too. “you want to escape, right?”
his face blanches and he opens his mouth to refute your claim, not wanting his parents to overhear, but you hold up a hand to stop him.
“no, it’s okay. i get it.” you weren’t sure before what you were missing, but seeing the ways sabo defied his parents, the ways he’s defied society in general — it moves you to act. “take me with you.”
sabo blinks repeatedly, not quite sure if he hears you correctly. “do you realize what you’re asking me?” his hands grow clammy and he keeps wiping them on his shorts. “it’s not an easy life, living out there. you won’t last.” but, someone who understands his plight better than ace or luffy ever will, the thought intrigues him to say the least.
“don’t worry, i’ll make it. i know i will.” you have to. this is your last resort, after all. sabo sits on his bed and considers your request. there are so many unknowns, so many variables to consider; but your determination is admirable. maybe you do have what it takes.
“how do i know i can trust you?” he tilts his head at you, arms folded against his chest. maybe this will prove that you’re not as serious as you claim to be. he sneers until he sees the pocket knife you’ve retrieved from your person; unsheathing the blade, you grab his hand and before he can protest you quickly prick his finger with it and then do the same to yourself.
“a blood pact,” you say solemnly, having read it somewhere in a book once. you hold your finger out, the blood gliding down as it seeps out of the tiny wound. sabo swallows hard, a little shaken by your conviction — you remind him of ace, in a way; intense, impulsive, inconveniencing him at the worst times.
but he presses his finger to yours too, voice dropping to a whisper, “don’t make me regret this.” when you put the knife away you quickly hug him, feeling happier than you’ve felt in… years. sabo is unsure of what to do, so he pats your head awkwardly before prying you off of him. before long, you both fall into an easy conversation. you’re much funnier than he originally thought, your jokes making him laugh hard enough that his face turns red. he’s kinder than he appears, taking his time to explain his view on being a noble, on how everything feels rotten on the inside. his confession reminds you of a similar one — one you made late one night, whispering to the stars while everyone was asleep. so you listen carefully, absorb his words, enjoy the passion in his voice, and because you’re watching so intently, he gets flustered and stumbles over his words.
you try to ask him about it, but he gently nudges you away and hides his face by going through his dresser drawers. he tells you to pack light, that this will be the last time you see the city like this. it doesn’t bother you, though — leaving like this. so you make plans to meet at the gate later on that night. things go off without much issue, the journey a little easier now that you have sabo to guide you. both of you talk at length about your dreams, about impossible things you wish to see happen, on how you’re both eager to take to the sea. you’re more alike than you realize, but you don’t say anything — a little afraid that he might actually leave you behind if you do.
he introduces you to his brothers ace and luffy; the latter takes to you right away, excited that sabo brought on someone fun to play with. ace takes a bit of convincing, but when you prove capable enough, he begrudgingly accepts you. the time you spend with them fills you with a certain warmth that you’re desperate to hold onto. sabo, in turn, is a little more softer with you; takes his time to slow down if you’re lagging behind, only pushing you when he sees fit, staying up late to make up stories about potential adventures at sea with you. in hindsight, you come to understand that this was a love that blossomed slowly, that you only realized your feelings when it was much too late.
sabo’s death shatters something inside of you. but, you refuse to go back home. even after the search parties, you continue to keep hidden, sticking with ace and luffy for as long as you can, until it’s time to set off on your own.
time gives you perspective, helps you see that naivety has no place in adult life, makes you wish to do something that will make a difference. it’s ace’s death that hardens you again. and, while you wish you could find luffy and comfort him for his loss, you know that won’t fix anything. the frustration pushes you to do more — to train harder, to educate yourself on the ongoings of the world. because your desire to be a part of the change in the world is so great, it leads you to the revolutionary army without fail. you’re told you’re to meet with the second-in-command, so you wait in the designated area, tapping your foot nervously against the hard tiled floor. you don’t know why, but you’re anxious about meeting him, wanting to make a good first impression you dress a little nicer than usual, make sure that your hair is perfectly in place — a testament to your upbringing, something you unfortunately cannot escape.
heavy footsteps alert you to his presence as he makes his way closer. “sorry for the wait,” he says, a polite smile on his face as he takes you in. since recovering his memories, things are still a little fuzzy, so he pauses right when you do, the thick file he had in his hands slips through his fingers, the papers flying as they fall onto the floor. you’re gripping the arms of the chair so tightly, you’re sure you’ll break the wood at this rate.
“s-sabo?” you can’t believe it — no, you refuse to believe it. but there he is, same as ever — a little older, much taller, and handsome as always. your brain short-circuits momentarily as you rub your face with your hands. “how is this even possible? how are you alive?” you haven’t moved from the chair, opting to sit because you know if you try to stand your legs will give out. ace is dead…but sabo is alive. when luffy finds out, he’ll be over-the-moon. you planned on keeping your hands over your face for eternity, hoping your tears don’t flow more than they are currently. sabo plucks your hands off of your face and pulls you to your feet — his strength is alarming, but you don’t mention that. you don’t mention that he’s grown to be much more confident in his convictions, that despite his status in the revolutionary army, he still has that boyish charm, still looks at you as if you hold the secrets to the universe, still has that mess of curls that you remember playing with more times than you can count.
you shove at his chest, not understanding a thing. “what happened? why are you here?”
if anyone were to see you talking to him like that, they might kick you out; still, you keep at it, hurling question after question, irritated that he isn’t answering you. he’s much too busy committing your face to memory all over again. sabo, meanwhile, familiarizes himself with the annoyance on your face, the adorable pout on your lips, the delicate way your eyelashes fan out, the determined set of eyes of yours that always managed to see through his bullshit.
it comes back to him in pieces, but with you in front of him, he finally feels at home.
“calm down,” he says lightly, that impish smile you fell in love with so long ago making the pitiful organ you call a heart to beat a little faster than normal.
poking your finger at him, you huff, “don’t you tell me to calm down, how about you calm down?” it’s ridiculous, you know, you’re being wholly unfair. something happened to sabo over the past decade, something you might never understand entirely — and even though you’re annoyed about it all, you’re so incredibly happy you could cry all over again. he wants to ask you about luffy, wants to ask how ace was before his untimely demise, wants to know if you still have the same dreams from back then. but he doesn’t. instead, he finds solace in teasing you, liking how easily you fall for his taunts. when you finally stop berating him, when you’ve run out of questions to ask, you quiet down and hug him tightly.
you don’t expect him to return your embrace, so when he does, you’re stunned. sabo brushes his lips against your forehead, the kiss soft enough that you’re sure you imagined it. again, you feel your heart beat faster than necessary, that warmth you thought you lost so long ago finding you once more. his slender fingers tilt your chin upward so you can look at him properly. there’s something he’s been chasing during all of the years you were apart; his dreams were plagued by memories of his past life that didn’t feel quite real. but consistently, your face, your voice popped up every single night. he thought he imagined you; thought maybe you were just someone he desperately wanted to be real. but, now that he’s seen you — now that he’s holding you, he can safely say that you’re very much real. and he refuses to let you go.
“it’s okay,” he says quietly, smiling gently, “i missed you too.”

Hi! Can I request Yandere! Headcanons for Sabo and Benn from One Piece? I loved the ones you did for Shanks🙈. Tysm in advance 😙💙
I am glad that you like pumpkin
since you didn’t specify the gender it will be female pronouns
Yandere Sabo headcanons
Tumblr media
• It is a bit scary to think of this guy as a Yandere and I will explain why
• Of the three of the ASL brothers, he is the most deceptive, because of his chivalrous and kind appearance, he also tends to be a bit sadistic
• By sadistic I don't mean that he hurt his darling, he would never do that, after all, he is a Yandere protector... unless you try to escape, in that case, say goodbye to your legs for a while because he'll be going to break them and it's going to hurt like hell
• For you to learn the lesson, remember, he did not want to do it, but you forced him, because yes, he is a manipulator, he has a great talent for mental games • But when I speak of sadistic I mean it because everyone around you is in danger of being attacked by Sabo • As soon as he fixes his eyes on you, all men (except Luffy and in a perfect world where he is not dead Ace) are a threat and if they are too affectionate with you he will make sure they never come near you again
• Don't worry, he won't kill them the first time, but I'm sure none of them would want to push their luck a second time • Oh yes, I did not mention you before, but he is from the group of yanderes who kills threats or what he considers competition, but at least he is one of the few who gives a second chance, and if you happen to like are women then ... • Suddenly he has just forgotten that he is a gentleman who drinks the respecting women juice
• In front of you, he is an elegant gentleman with a kind smile, always looking out for you, in case you need help or are in danger, as I said before, he is a protective Yandere, your safety comes first • Sabo will always be looking for a way to help you and make your life easier, he will accompany you everywhere, he will buy you things that attract your attention and he will even share his food, do you know how much that means? I am not exaggerating when I say you are the only one with whom he has shared his food • He is also a Stalker, that training to become a revolutionary is coming out very convenient now.
• I honestly do not believe that he will kidnap you because he values freedom very much, yes, Sabo wants you to always be by his side and to know where you are always but not if it is due to the fact that you are locked in a room and chained to a bed or wall • If not, and because of bad luck you end up in danger, the first one will rescue you, the second will scold you a little and the third will not allow you to get out of their sight. • breach that or try to leave and see how we will go to the part where he breaks your legs • Although it is scary, you may lose most, if not all, your friends or you have no privacy, Sabo is one of the most bearable yanderes if you are intelligent as well as knowing how to play your cards, you may have a normal relationship with him, just do not keep any secrets and for the  love of whatever you believe, DO NOT show interest in another person
• because even though it may not seem like it, Sabo is a very jealous person
Yandere Benn Beckman headcanons
Tumblr media
I'll be honest with you, I know very little about Beckman, after all, I have the understanding that he is not that he has appeared much in the series, but I will see what I can do with the little information I have, so this may come out a bit oc with him, but hey, don't let it be said that we didn't try
• Benn gives me the feeling that, despite looking like a laid-back man who takes things easy, he's not really like that. • We could say that he goes by the specter of the paranoid Yandere • I mean, his outward appearance is a vile lie compared to what is inside his mind, he is always worried about what might happen to you. • It's not that he mistrusted you, on the contrary, he trusts you a lot, in fact, that is why you have never seen the dark side of him to the point that you think that he is an ordinary person
• In fact, on the yandere scale of my One Piece universe, he is on the side of the least dangerous for his Darling, since he would not hurt you even to punish you • He would use the old guilt trip technique and although he hates to make you feel bad, it is for your good, you are too innocent and this world is so cruel... • Who Benn doesn't trust is everyone else except his captain • He has the thought that everyone tries to hurt you and take advantage of you to a lesser or greater extent, that is something that the pirate could not accept • That is why he keeps you by his side and tries to teach you as much as possible so that you can defend yourself. • Because he is the type of Yandere with enough sanity to know that he will not last you forever, he is already a man over fifty years old and the pirate job is not very safe to say despite being under the command of a Yonkou • So he wants you to learn as much as possible, for when he lacks you, no one can abuse you • He is quite soft and the way he talks is so attractive, full of wisdom, with affectionate words, that sooner or later you will be willing to have a closer relationship with him
• Oh yes, he knows how to talk to women, surely in his youth, he was a real casanova • He does not like you to be with other men, not because he is jealous and will hurt them (which he would only do if they try to overstep with you), but because he is afraid that they will do something bad to you, in addition to that he is also insecure of himself, after all, as I told you, he is a man and youth has abandoned him a long time ago (still looks hot to me but whatever you think Benn)
• I can say that he is a Yandere that you cannot manipulate because of how supremely intelligent he is, but he hardly restricts anything since his only goal is for you to be very happy and with him as much as possible. • If you decide to have a relationship with him and get married, that would make him very happy, but if you don't want to, that's fine, just don't take him away from your life or you'll see how the dark side of him starts to come out • definitely this man is suitable for both romantic and platonic Yandere (I speak for you readers with daddy issues, this is your yandere, he won't abandon you to go for cigarettes)

How do you think the ASL brothers would change if it was Ace that was separated and Sabo stayed with Luffy on Dawn Island?
Hey there! I’m so sorry for taking my time with this ask! It’s a really great question and I wanted to take my time thinking about and typing out my answer...and well. It got LONG ^ ^;;;;;
Bc oh man do I think things would change a LOT, but in order to answer this question, let’s first sorta picture the scenario itself. How did Ace end up the one separated?
This could go a number of ways, but here’s one that comes to mind.
~~
The boys are running back from causing mischief in High Town, when Ace overhears some gossip.
Did you hear, the marines are coming! Apparently they found a terrible, terrible criminal, hiding right here in Goa, and they’re coming to get rid of him before the Celestial Dragons arrive!
A terrible criminal?
Oh dear, what terrible crime did they commit?
Well, nothing, apparently, or at least nothing yet.
What do you mean?
They say he’s the son of the most wanted, most terrible man in history. But don’t worry, the marines’ll take care of him before--
Ace feels like the world’s suddenly gone black and white. He feels numb, barely hearing Sabo shouting at him to hurry, barely registers Luffy tugging his hand and looking up at him with worry.
They’ve come for him. He should have known. Gramps may have tried to hide him, but there’s no escaping Gol D. Roger’s infamy.
Ace knows once he would have sneered, said See, Gramps? I knew this would happen. But now, he feels fear.
Ace doesn’t fear death, and will look it in the eye and punch it when it comes for him. But fear grips him now, as he stares blankly into the campfire Sabo’s set up, finally registering that Luffy’s calling his name and still tugging at his arm.
He doesn’t fear death for himself. But when they come for him, to end his life because of his blood, will they spare Sabo and Luffy? Will they spare the brothers of the Pirate King’s son?
Somehow, Ace doubts it.
And so he knows he’s got to go. He’s got to leave now, before they find him, before they find Sabo and Luffy, before they can steal away his family.
An adult Ace, looking back regretfully, would lament the timing of his brash actions. But Ace had never been a thinker, more of a doer, and he couldn’t bear the thought of losing his brothers--even now, he can’t.
And he couldn’t have known back then that the island had had two boys considered the sons of the worst criminals in history.
So he doesn’t blame his younger self for writing a sloppy letter, tucking it under Sabo’s head, and then fleeing into the night to steal a boat that he’d use to leave the island on come daybreak. Running away, leaving his brothers behind, making Sabo vow to continue looking after Luffy like he always had, until one day, the three of them could be reunited once more.
Young Ace doesn’t even know what a Celestial Dragon is. All he knows is that an enormous ship, the likes of which he’d never seen before, is approaching--
And then everything is FIRE, and then, blank.
Dragon and the Revolutionaries had been in the area, but not just to rescue people from the Gray Terminal fire. They had intel, and Dragon had reason to believe that the marines may have found Luffy, and his connection to Dragon. The commander of the Revolutionary Army kept his distance from his son, but he wasn’t going to let the child get slaughtered for his relation to a father he’d never even met.
He’d briefly run into Ace while he was stealing a boat. He hadn’t stopped the child, but had been curious about his raw desperation, his bitterness towards his blood, and his determination to protect his found family.
Dragon is surprised to find the boy in the wreckage of an utterly destroyed sailboat.
The boy is terribly burned, and has no memory of anything, not even his own name--but he is immediately terrified at the suggestion that they return him to the island, shouting that he doesn’t know why, but he can’t go back there, they’ll find Them and kill Them if I go back there, and it’ll all be my fault--!
He decides to let the boy stay. His name is Ace, they think, the name found among his belongings. With the Celestial Dragons come and gone, marine presence on the island also fades, and Dragon concludes that Luffy is safe for the time being. He sends a coded message to Garp to be careful, and then disappears back to Baltigo with his new charge.
After regaining his memories, adult Ace grudgingly admits that while he still wishes it’d never happened, there were some perks to memory loss.
For one, he’d completely forgotten that he was the son of the late Pirate King. He still had a weird fixation towards fathers, but after getting attached to Dragon, and Dragon accepting his protege’s need for a father figure, the desperation fades.
While not the best at studies, Ace is physical strong, and takes to Revolutionary Army training like he was born for it. He masters both Armament and Observation Haki by fourteen, and with his private training sessions with Dragon, is becoming terrifyingly proficient with Conqueror’s Haki as well.
Ace is still learning, but the power he exudes when unleashing Conqueror’s Haki makes Dragon curious (and some of their peers, nervous). He’s only ever heard of one person exhibiting the kind of power Ace seems to have the potential for.
There are also other perks to being a member of the Revolutionary Army. Dragon isn’t the most wanted criminal in history for no reason. The location of the Army headquarters in Baltigo is a tightly kept secret, one that the World Government has desperately been searching for ever since it was built, but to no avail.
Even as the Marines track the rumors of Gol D. Roger’s child, as long as Ace remains in Baltigo, it’s like he vanished into thin air. And should they have discovered Headquarters, the Pirate King’s son would have been the least of their concerns.
And so Ace grows strong, no longer shackled by self-hatred of his blood, but also haunted by nameless whispers that keep him up at night, a sense of foreboding and aching longing that he’s forgetting something vital about himself, something that he both needs to remember, and doesn’t dare to touch.
~~
On Dawn Island, on that fateful day, Sabo wakes up to find a letter written in a child’s familiar sloppy hand. He tries not to panic, knowing that Ace’s long gone, and tries to think rationally on how he should move next. Even with Ace’s clumsy words, Sabo understands what his brother had been trying to say.
They’d discovered Ace’s parentage. Ace felt that he would endanger Sabo and Luffy by staying with them. So Ace left the island early, by himself, entrusting Sabo with their younger brother.
Sabo doesn’t know how he can possibly tell Luffy that Ace left to protect them, and to convince him that they need to stay.
And then Sabo suddenly doesn’t need to, because suddenly there’s shouting below the tree house, and Luffy’s blearily sitting up.
Ace is dead.
~~
Sabo tries to maintain a level headed facade in front of Luffy (even if he cries, screams his lungs out for Ace in private). He needs to support their little brother, now more than ever. Ace is gone. Ace entrusted Sabo with Luffy.
Sabo will not lose Luffy.
~~
~~
What next?
There’s the chance that Sabo would act as Ace did, continuing training and then leaving the island at seventeen as promised.
But what if he didn’t? Seventeen is a number that Sabo chose, because noble-born children become fully fledged nobles at eighteen. But now there are other, more important things at stake now.
Given what happened to Ace, and the possibility of the marines returning, Garp tells Sabo about Luffy’s heritage (he hadn’t told Luffy yet, at Ace’s request, Ace not wanting Luffy to hate himself as Ace did. Garp doubted Luffy would react that way to Dragon, but he lets Ace have this, this attempt at protecting his little brother).
Knowing that Luffy’s the son of a man rapidly growing to be as infamous as the Pirate King kicks Sabo’s overprotective instincts into overdrive.
Sabo will not lose Luffy.
From here out, there’s three possible routes. The first two routes assume that Sabo’s parents never end up coming for him (they forgot about their son for five years, who says they wouldn’t for more).
1) Pirates Route:
Sabo swallows his pride, and agrees to join Luffy’s crew, much to the younger’s delight. The thought of being captain of his own crew now seems pale in comparison to keeping Luffy safe and also keeping his last promise to his lost brother. And so Sabo vows to stay at Luffy’s side as his guardian. They leave the island to become pirates together.
2) Marines Route:
Sabo demands that Garp take him and Luffy to be trained as marines. Sabo feels nothing for disdain for both the marines and World Government, and has every intention of taking Luffy and ditching as soon as they’re safe. But right now they can provide several things that he wants and needs:
1) He feels it’s too dangerous to remain on Dawn Island with potential government eyes on them, and Garp is a relatively secure way of ensuring they can leave. They know too little about the outside world now, and carelessly leaving on a boat and getting blasted like Ace is the last thing they need.
2) He wants training for both himself and Luffy, not just combat, but on how to survive at sea. The marines, at least, should be able to provide plenty of that experience.
3) Sabo doesn’t want to be caught unawares ever again. Ace fled because he’d overheard a rumor. If Sabo had known, perhaps the outcome would have been different. Sabo’s always been the thinker, the planner among the brothers, and he wants information, especially if there’s a chance that the government will make a move on Luffy. Sabo’s goal is to work his way up the ranks until he not only has access, but is in charge of investigations hunting the Revolutionary Army, and more importantly to him, the existence and location of the Commander’s rumored child. As Chief of marine intel, Sabo will be able to control what information goes to the higher ups, and which information needs to be quietly eliminated.
(and if his investigations into the Revolutionary Army leads him to become curious about the powerful fire logia user who is their Chief of Staff...)
3) Royalty Route:
Sabo’s parents find him, shortly after Ace’s “death,” and demand he returns to High Town and his noble heritage. With Ace gone, abandoning Luffy to a life by himself isn’t an option, but neither is letting his little brother be killed. So Sabo decides that he’s got to do what he must. Protect Luffy at all costs.
He strikes a deal with his parents. He’ll return to them, and he’ll be their perfect little noble son, but ONLY with the condition that Luffy comes with them. His parents are unhappy with the deal, but grudgingly agree, warning that if Sabo doesn’t truly impress them, they have no problem with, ah, eliminating both Sabo and his tag along because they have Stelly as a perfectly viable replacement.
Sabo can excel when he puts his mind to it, and although inside he froths with rage and hatred, he will do anything to keep Luffy safe.
Luffy is his one and only saving grace who keeps him sane. Luffy, who is now trapped in this birdcage alongside Sabo, and it’s all Sabo’s fault. He’s called Sabo’s “servant,” despite being incapable of doing chores, and is ignored by the entire household other than Sabo.
And while Luffy’s clearly uncomfortable, he doesn’t complain. He senses Sabo’s pain, and his suffering, and takes it upon himself to soothe his older brother, to keep him company, to love him. Luffy will never leave here, if it means leaving Sabo. Because nothing is more terrible than being alone and Luffy knows that best.
So Sabo keeps moving forward, vowing to Ace every night that he’s going to protect Luffy, no matter what. If this is the hand that he’s been dealt, Sabo will just have to make do. Sabo wonders how far up the hierarchy he’ll have to climb in order to guarantee Luffy’s safety.
(or, Sabo eventually becomes King of Goa, and Luffy is his “servant.”)
~~
~~
Are just some possibilities I came up with! To anyone who made it to the bottom of this post, thanks for reading!
Do any of the three scenarios I came up with sound interesting? Which is your favorite/do you think is most likely? Should I write a follow up??

listening to Ocean Soul again and thinking about Ace, bc... well yeah.
and I'm like ok, yeah, the way the WB pirates got Ace to join their crew was decidedly *not great*
although I think you do see a lot of fans who actually kinda vibe with it?
like for one it's faster in fiction with little to no drawbacks bc *it's fiction*,
but I was thinking about how Ace Sabo and Luffy all agreed on finding Freedom on the seas and I think they all look for different types of freedom, ya know?
specifically I'm thinking about the difference between Ace and Sabo, like if the WB pirates tried to do the same to Sabo it just. wouldn't work at ALL. he already escaped from people calling themselves his parents and I think that it would really rub Sabo the wrong way. Sabo loosing his memories, I think as a child that was freedom for him. I think if he knew what he was missing with Ace and Luffy, he would have stopped at nothing to get his memories back, and would have willingly given up that "freedom"
in that way, both Ace AND Sabo were kind of, forcefully given freedom?
and here's where it gets a bit more complicated? I think a lot of people think freedom and it's the idea that you can do whatever you want whenever you want to and either there are no consequences or they're minor or don't matter? and that sort of freedom is completely unreachable. I mean there's consequences to EVERYTHING, some good, some bad, some big, some small. but you can't be so completely independent that suddenly what you do has no effect on anything or anyone else. that's just not how things work.
Sabo, Sabo with his amnesia, is freed from the cage of his family and his life and his name. he's able to use his name (first, but no last name) without being constantly reminded of his family. I like to think the time spent with Ace and Luffy was able to rewrite some of the brain connections of his name and his family.
then, being taken in by revolutionaries gives him the *freedom* to do what I think he would have wanted to do anyway, and that's to make changes in the world and help people on a greater scale. the ASL bros all seem to naturally help people whenever, wherever, and whatever the cost. ALSO, it seems like all three of them seem to make small changes or do small deeds that reverberate outward to make bigger waves if change. (I'm talking, changing one country or one person's situation vs like, the entire world) Ace and Luffy do things just as they come? luffy especially, there's no "I'm doing this bc it's going to make these things change" he's just like, ok this is the block in front of me right now and I'm going to punch it. Ace plans a Little more. that's just how and who they are. it makes sense for Sabo as a character to take that a step further and find freedom in the revolutionary way, which is planning to make these changes and domino effect, etc. he's very big picture.
ok well I meant this to be mostly about Ace but Ace and Sabo really do go together huh.
anyway. Ace, Ace, Ace. he went to sea partially carrying Sabo's dream bc he thought he was dead.... I think, that he partially found his freedom while growing up with Luffy, because while it's sort of implied that he's searching for freedom on the seas specifically, I think for Ace, it's more that he's searching for Acceptance. he keeps going back and forth between running from his parentage, to running right towards it (asking people what they would think if the Pirate King had a kid... oh Ace...) he keeps saying IM NOT, IM NOT, IM NOT! but then asks people about it??? anyhow, Luffy offered him acceptance and unconditional love, and began to sort of loosen the "chains" of his parentage. he can't run from it as much as he tries, because it just is. but Luffy couldn't release him from it because he's just one kid! one snotty little brother!
but Whitebeard... I mean, that's one of the people that Ace thought would hate him the MOST. and for him to say it doesn't matter who Ace's parents are, and to offer unconditional love? and have it be parental love?
I mean the DIFFERENT in how Ace acts before and after joining the Whitebeard pirates? he's so relaxed? he's settled, in a sense? I mean he's certainly not the paradigm of mental health, but he's so balanced! he's still got issues but they aren't plaguing him every second of the day- he isn't worried over people finding out about who he is all the time, bc the people that matter the most know!! and they accept and love him??? acceptance and love are what gave him freedom from what he viewed as a dangerous cage and chains of his parentage, but now are just part of who he is and that's ok?? he's not attacking people and egging them on to hate him for the reasons he gives them before they can find out about his parents?
and yeah he uses a different name, but he also takes on WB's mark? And just ahdksjs parallels between that and the Sun Pirates ahdkwiwk
and he's trying to make someone else king?? like freedom doesn't mean you have to be the top dog??? putting others before yourself can be freedom???
everyone has a different meaning of freedom?????
IM CRYING ABOUT ACE IN THIS CHILI'S TONIGHT
Lyrics from Ocean Soul that give me Ace Feels(tm):
One more night to bear this nightmare
Crying for me was never worth a tear
My lonely soul is only filled with fear
Long hours of loneliness between me and the sea
Losing emotion, finding devotion
As I always wished to be - one with the waves

I ran a Ghost Face on the Disturbed Ward main building with my ninja vaulting build and it was so long! Quick & Quiet with Dance With Me really fucked shit up because I was going every which way in and out of that place and he could not for the life of him keep up, meanwhile, I eventually ran up behind him and followed him for like a minute and he never knew! IDK how! Claudette’s breathing isn’t as loud as Jane’s but you can still hear her.
Got some matches with Twitch streamers. I had their streams open to listen in on what’s going on. We got some great plays. The one match we were accused of cheating by a Leatherface who Insidious Camped and still got no one dead in the end.
Got a Wraith who came upon me bobbing my green head at mach speed in the middle of the map, and apparently decided that I was a fucking trip so he joined in and then let me and the other Feng Min finish the Gens and leave. We got 32K points..
I ran a Bamboozle Bubba on the dock for 4 minutes, and I know this because I had a Challenge to get Chased for 240 seconds(which I wanted to die from IstG) and that was the first match after setting the Challenge. I only got into a Chase once that match so it had to have been from that alone since I completed the Challenge in 1 match. With Adrenaline I was finally able to fucking leave the dock! I hate the swamp maps so much. I Escaped too. I remember the acute sense of terror when he vaulted a window at a very small loop when it would seem counter-intuitive to do so. And then the window was blocked. BUT, no Bloodlust at the time so he never caught up so matter how hard he tried.
btw the no Bloodlust experiment was very interesting on the Survivor side. I encountered many Killers who were not good despite being Rank 1, all because they couldn’t Bloodlust to victory.
On my end as Killer, I didn’t notice much, but I think that’s because the Survivors I faced were Yellow Ranks. The highest I’ve gotten before Rank Reset is Rank 8. I don’t play much Killer so I just haven’t tried getting higher. So when it resets, I’m stuck with Rank 13s and below. And like, getting them down is no struggle so I didn’t need Bloodlust to begin with. For me, it wasn’t a life-changing thing.
A Michael was run by a Dwight on the Pale Rose main building for so long that he gave up and walked away to find someone else. And I was just watching from that little building on the map as Dwight and he went in circles while I finished the Gen.
I found a Pink Key in the one game so when all Gens were done, we left through the Hatch! XD
Killers really don’t handle Head On stuns very well. Like, you get them once and they tunnel and camp you. I’ve managed to use all the pallets on a map to stun a Killer in a 5-GenChase and not get camped by them when I was finally downed. But a Leatherface gets hit with Head On one time and he has a tantrum over it. And still got no kills cuz someone had Borrowed Time and I had Adrenaline.
Ah, Macmillan’s Phalanx Bone. Don’t you mean “Shelter Woods Offering”? Every. Fucking. Time.
I need to get used to playing the dudes. I typically don’t cuz they’re much bigger and harder to hide. Their breathing and grunts of pain are louder. And idk if it’s me but they feel clunky. Playing as any of the dudes just has a weird feel to the gameplay and idk why.
You ever see someone in just the ugliest match up of cosmetics ever, and wonder if they’re getting tunneled because the Killer hates their clothes? I often do.
Claudette, Min, and Yui are all P3 and have all Perks I currently possess now! *applause*
I was saving up to get Legion but I think I want Elodie first. Legion can wait since I have so many free cosmetics for them and they aren’t going anywhere.
I used to think Kate was the prettiest of all Survivors even if blondes don’t do it for me, but now we have Elodie who is far prettier, and mainly I want her just so I can look at her. I’m very queer. She has cool Perks too but the gay is way stronger.
Playing swf in a lobby with Rank 10, Rank 13, and Rank 17 teammates. Rank 13: If we get a Rank 1 Killer because someone is Rank 2(it’s me) I’m going to scream. [We got a Rank 1 Spirit and he did in fact scream. XD]
Got the same Freddy 3 times in a row today! I was playing different Survivors with different builds though, so he couldn’t predict my playstyle in the 2nd and 3rd games. Blendette with the good ol’ ninja vaulting build, Fluorescent Feng Min with a standard solo build, and then a Breakout Yui build in which I sabotaged so many Hooks and Dead Harded a shit ton that it took until I was out of charges in the end, for him to Hook someone! BUT!!! A Dweet gave me his unused yellow Toolbox, and I got in one last sabo to save someone! I Escaped each match too.
I managed to lose a Nurse in every chase because she kept assuming I would camp pallets, but I just kept running and pathing oddly around Ormond by taking random sharp turns and turning every which way to confuse her. It was great and I never got Hooked!
New Ormond looks a lot better btw... but I still hate the map tho.
Got a Spirit to DC because my ninja vaulting build fooled her even though she had Stridor and I was Injured. I was running to a pallet, she started phasing to get ahead of me, I backtracked and went elsewhere, so she appeared on the other side of the pallet, swinging, but I wasn’t there. I was already across the corn at a new loop where I vaulted a window and Lithed toward the shack. Seconds later, the game ends.
I hate Hags!
youtube
I dodged a hatchet and proceeded to stop getting prompts to vault/throw pallets down. That’s how I ended up in the Dying State. And I asked the other PS4 players if they faced any weird glitches and both explained that she missed a hit and then they suddenly froze in place/couldn’t throw down the pallet they were at.
I even checked if my internet was effed up, but we were all under 85 in terms of ping so it couldn’t have been the Survivors.
Like, she Hooked Dude #2 and while Adam went to save the Dude #1, I went to Dude #2. I hid behind a rock as the Huntress ran by me and around the corner of the map to intercept the other rescue, which she failed to do. I ran to the hook, watching behind me the whole time, and just as I was about to pull them off she appeared out of nowhere in the wide, open space of the Disturbed Ward map. She wasn’t there, and then she was.
I dodge her hatchet as I flee toward the building and right up against a window, the prompt wouldn’t show and I wasted several seconds before I could finally use my Lithe. As I run through the building, I’m spamming R1 to throw down the pallet I’m running to, but it didn’t go. I got hit. Suddenly I was stuck in place and unable to move, and then found myself on the ground.

Luna wakes up
The wind blew through the forest I knew so well. Every tree, every root, every leaf, it sang to me. It hadn’t always been like that, I had preferred the ocean from the day I was born. I remembered Makino say that I had learned to swim before I learned to walk, the ocean had just always felt like home and when grandpa had me and Luffy move to the mountain, I was horrified. Leave the ocean? For the mountains? Surrounded by trees instead of the horizon? Was grandpa trying to kill me?! Probably, he could be a mean old man. But I was alive and smiled at the blue sky, the forest hadn’t been easy to get used to, but I had Luffy that was constantly excited about something new and then we had Ace, it took a while for him to warm up to us but he still went to get me when I got lost in the forest. We eventually met Sabo when me and Luffy got caught by Porchemy and both Sabo and Ace went to save us. The four of us were inseparable after that night.
Ace would often help me get my bearings in the forest until I knew it like the back of my hand. Sabo took interest in my ability and it was fun to just play around even when nothing came out of it. Luffy would often find bugs that he found interesting and would bring them to me, they creeped me out at first, but he’d start going on about how awesome it is and I started to actually find them cool too – except spiders. Spiders creep me out.
“What are you thinking about, Lu?” Ace’s voice came from my right and I looked over at him.
“Spiders.” I shivered but he just laughed as he was lying on the floor with me.
But he wasn’t the only one laughing, I had another brother laughing on my left “Why are thinking about spiders, idiot? You hate spiders!” it was Sabo.
I covered my face with my hands as I hit my legs against the floor “I know!”
“Do you think they’re cool now?!” Luffy was suddenly looking down at me with a giant smile and I was so startled that I jumped up and we smacked heads.
“LUFFY!” I complained holding my forehead “No! Spiders are gross! And creepy!” I shivered again.
Sabo chuckled as he pointed at me “Lu… You have a thing there again.”
I looked at where he was pointing, at me but since I was now facing them, it was slightly to my right. A white cat like tail with black stripes. It was wiggling. “AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! NOT AGAIN!” I started running around trying to get rid of it, but since it was mine, it obviously would follow me.
Ace laughed and Luffy just found it neat while Sabo tried to calm me down “Just calm down Luna. It’ll go away if you calm down.”
I stopped running, looking at tail that came out of the end of my back “I don’t know why you’re freaking out so much. It’s just a tail.” Ace pointed out still laughing.
“I’m just not used to it… I guess…?” I moved the tail a bit again, narrowing my eyes at it.
Sabo crossed his arms over his chest as he smiled “Well, it’s part of your devil fruit power, if you can’t swim, might as well make the most of it, right?”
I tilted my head but before I could say anything, Ace spoke “Plus, you kind of have to if we’re all gonna be pirate captains one day.”
“I don’t wanna be a pirate captain.”
Luffy looked at me, seemingly worried “What do you mean?! I thought we were both gonna be pirates, Luna!”
“Yeah!” Sabo agreed “You wanna be Queen of the sea one day, don’t you?!”
“I do! And I will!” I insisted, meaning every word “But… If we all become pirate captains, then we’ll all be apart… I don’t want to be out there all alone…” they weren’t laughing anymore and we didn’t tend to be this quiet “So I’m gonna be the Queen of the Seas! But I refuse to be a captain.” I looked amongst my three older brothers and smiled again “I’m gonna be Luffy’s first mate! The King of the Pirates can’t have any less than the Queen of the Seas as a first mate, right?”
“And someone needs to look after Luffy when we’re gone.”
I looked at Sabo surprised by his tone of voice “Wha— What are you talking about, Sabo…?”
He shrugged like it was nothing “Well… I’m going to sea now…” I was too shocked to have much of a reaction but he stepped over to me and kissed my head “Be safe, baby sister…” and he faded in flames.
I reached out to him but Luffy held my free hand “Sabo…” As I turned to Ace, he was older now adjusting his cowboy hat even if I remained the same little girl with my green dress and bare feet “Ace…?”
He smiled at me “He’s got a point…” he walked over to me and leaned down to my eye level, putting his hat on my head “Look, it’s just you and Luffy now and I know it might be scary, you never liked to be alone… But I’ll be watching over you, sis…” he then dropped to his knees and I felt the blood dripping down my hand that rested on his back.
“Broth—Brother…?” I looked at the red forming around us “You’re gonna be alright… What are you talking about…?”
“Thanks for loving me, Luna… Luffy…” he cried… I had never seen him cry before “Someone like me, that didn’t even deserve to be alive … Look after each other…”
And he also disappeared in flames “ACE!!!” I started to cry under my oldest brother’s cowboy hat.
“It’s my turn now, Luna.” I turned around to find Luffy holding his straw hat, an older Luffy, a stronger Luffy, while I remained the same…
“No! You can’t!”
He turned to me and smiled “It’s ok, I promise I won’t let anyone hurt you.” He put his straw hat on and his face turned serious “You’re my sister and I’ll never let anyone hurt you.” He dropped my hand and started walking away.
“Luffy…?” I cried more and started to run after him, but no matter how fast I ran, I could never catch up with him. I took a deep breath through my tears and called out my twin’s name as loud as I could.
I was sitting up in bed before I realized. The room was dark. I couldn’t breathe. Luffy! Where’s Luffy? Where’s my brother?! I heard some pained whimpers from beside me, I knew it was Luffy. I pulled some tubes from my skin and got the blankets from over me, rushing to him. I didn’t know where we were but it was dark and Luffy was contorting in pain, all wrapped up in bandages and seeming like he was fighting his own nightmares, his hand clung to mine when I reached for him. “I’m here…” I coursed my fingers through his dark hair, it was straight like mine but not nearly as long, it was sticky from the sweat “We’re… We’re gonna be…” I started to cry and couldn’t finish what I was saying… I never did have the heart to lie to him… I remembered getting the news… I remembered Impel Down and missing him in the nick of time… I remembered the pain we went through to get out… I remembered the army we rose to get to our brother… I shook as I remembered how he always felt just out of reach… I remembered the sea turning to ice. I remembered the war, the pain, the panic, the burning in my muscles, the sharpness of my breath… Vice-Admiral Garp, the hero of the Navy… Coward. I remembered the noise, the screams, the canon fire and the desperation fuelling my every breath… I remembered old man White Beard showing up with Marco and the others… I remembered…
My knees gave out with the flood of memories and my hand slipped from Luffy’s so that I could support myself on the floor. I bit my lip as to not make a sound but the emptiness in my chest was too much… Ace… I punched the floor with my right fist. My brother… I punched the floor with my left fist. A sob escaped my lips through the corner of my mouth and as my arms kept on punching the floor, an animal like scream escaped my throat. It was too much. Not again, I couldn’t deal with losing a brother again! I cried into the darkness of the room as long and loud as my lungs would let me. There was blood splashing on my face from my punches on the floor but I couldn’t bring myself to stop… I hadn’t changed at all from back then! I was just as weak! Just as useless! Just as powerless to save my own brother… Again… And now Luffy was hanging to life for a thread and there’s nothing I can do…
I raised both my fists at the same time in anger and heartbreak, so lost in grief that I didn’t notice someone come into the room. They grabbed me from behind and tried to restrain my arms, in my blind anger I struggled and I know my elbow hit something before I heard an unfamiliar voice behind be “Room! Shambles!”
Next thing I know… I’m waking up.
I don’t remember dreaming… I could’ve sworn that I was still in the same room… I looked to my left to see Luffy still lying on the other bed, still wrapped in bandages and connected to tubes… I looked away to find a tall guy sitting by my bed, I could only see his profile but he was reading a book despite the bags under his eyes “Who the hell are you?”
He glanced over at me with his black eyes as I sat up straight and he closed his book “I’m the guy that patched you two up.” He put his book on the bed I was lying on and turned to face me fully which was when I noticed what my elbow had hit before, his face “Then for my troubles, I get a black eye.”
I feel the tension leave my body and I look at my brother “Thanks for saving us.” And I looked back at the stranger “Sorry about the black eye, I kind of lost it… It hasn’t been an easy week.” I rubbed my face as I pulled my knees up but his tattooed hand quickly reached out for my knee closest to him.
I looked at him and he looked over at me “Your stitches are still healing, they might open if you compress your muscles like that.” Stitches… I let my legs down and looked down at my body, I was also covered in bandages, even my hands. I moved my hands in front of my eyes to look them up “You didn’t have the ones on your hands before you took a crack at my floor.” I looked at the floor by Luffy’s bed to find it bent “They were bad from all the fighting, but not scrapped to the bone.”
“Sorry, family temper.” I tried to smile but it hurt my heart to do it, so I just coursed my fingers through my long black hair, avoiding his eyes by looking back at my brother. If it weren’t for the dent on the floor, I’d have thought it more of a nightmare than a thing that actually happened. But I couldn’t look at my twin brother any longer so I turned to the stranger “What’s your name, Polar Panda Doctor?”
He raised me an eyebrow “Polar Panda Doctor?”
I shrugged “It’s the hat.” strangely, I was able to smile “I like the hat.”
“Well, my name is Trafalgar Law, I’m the captain of the Heart Pirates. You’re on my ship.”
I held out my hand to him and he looked at it seemingly confused “My name is Monkey D. Luna, first mate to the Straw Hat Pirates. Pleasure to meet you.”
He glanced from my hand to me and back at my hand “I know.”
I shrugged, feeling just how much of a mask my smile was “This week I lost my friends, got teleported to some weird ass island, discovered that my oldest brother was in Marine hands and in line for execution, invaded a prison, broke out of prison, invaded Marine Headquarters, fought until I couldn’t move at all, kicked my grandfather in the face, lost my oldest brother and woke up who knows where with my twin brother hanging onto life by a thread.” I took a deep breath and tried to keep my fake smile “We’re not even half way through the week, give the girl some normality here… Please?”
He seemed to consider my request before he sighed and shook my hand “Pleasure to meet you, Luna-ya.”
“Likewise, Law.” I nodded “And again, thanks for saving my brother.”
He glanced at Luffy before he looked back at me “Sorry I could only save one of them.”
I felt my heart hurt at his words “I’m happy you managed to at least save one of them. Saving just me would’ve been a waste of time…” Instinctively, I reached for my right wrist but it was bare making my eyes go wide “Where’s my bracelet?”
“You shouldn’t say that—”
I turned to him serious “That’s not important. Where’s my bracelet?”
He frowned at me “What bracelet?”
“Silver. Round. Seems like it’s missing pieces. Has four pendants. Three stars. One moon. USED TO BE ON MY WRIST?!” I showed him my bandaged arm almost to prove a point “I need it back!”
“It’s a bracelet.” He dismissed “I’m sure that you can find another one.”
I felt a growl claw it’s way up my throat as I started to pull the blankets off of me but he quickly got up to hold my arms at my sides against the wall “Get off of me, Polar Panda!”
“You’re NOT getting out of bed with your injuries!” Law argued.
“Yeah?! Watch me!” I struggled but I was too weak to get out of his grip “I’ll tear this whole ship apart to find that bracelet!”
“It’s just a damn piece of broken jewellery!”
“MY BROTHER GAVE ME THAT BRACELET!” to my infinite frustration, I couldn’t hold back my tears, my bracelet was as important to me as Luffy’s straw hat was to him “I CAN’T HAVE LOST IT! I just… Can’t…”
Law seemed to pull back just as tears came to my eyes “Look… I’ll go check with Bepo if he has your bracelet, ok?” he pulled back from me another step “But you have to stay in bed and rest.”
I rubbed my eyes and crossed my arms “Fine…”
He left grumbling something but I found myself sitting still on the bed, waiting for him to come back.
Ahh this was soooo good! thank you for submitting this! I love your OC so much and can’t wait to hear more!

R.I.P. Sabo.....?
I watched six episodes in a row and it was totally worth it.
Mobile users better limber up those scrollin fingers because this post is about to get long.
Quick 499 Filler Summary (so I can move on to the good stuff...)
I hate watching filler when I don’t know it’s filler. It messes up my sense of canon. I end up analyzing it, then get annoyed when I realise it was a waste of time. Still, I’m glad I picked up on Sabo telling Ace’s family secret in front of the old Filler Pirate from 498. Even though his character had only just been introduced, I knew he wasn’t the type to blab. Glad you guys pointed that out.
To sum up 499:
1. The boys have no luck with Big Tiger, so they train with Filler Pirate.
2. Ace is shocked to learn Filler Pirate does not loathe Roger.
3. Filler Pirate is returning to the sea to find his old crew. The boys end up helping him build a ship.
4. They train under Filler Pirate. With the power of friendship, they defeat Big Tiger together (without needing catnip, thanks Sabo!)
5. Filler Pirate teaches Ace Pirate Life Lessons such as: there is more to being a pirate captain than strength. Only your crew’s approval makes you a good captain.
6. Filler Pirate heads out to see. Bye, bye Naguri the Filler Pirate!
Now for the good stuff...
Poor People Blood Is Icky
Tumblr media
Episode 500 opened on an ominous note. Not only was the title sinister but a literal storm ripped apart the boys’ refuge in the forest. Nice foreshadowing there.
To repair their hideout, Ace, Sabo and Luffy searched Grey Terminal for scraps. They were ambushed by Bluejam and Sweaty Chins. (Never found out his name, so Sweaty Chins he shall remain.)
Instead of thinking, “Hey, maybe my terrible parenting caused Sabo to run away?” Sweaty Chins pinned the blame on Ace and Luffy, the nasty common children. They had tempted Sabo to run away. They were after his money. Ace did not like that latter comment one bit and tried to fight back. Bluejam smacked him and, horror of horrors, got some of Ace’s blood on Sweaty Chins’ face.
Because everyone knows if you get poor blood on you, you might catch poor, right?
Poor Sabo begged them not to harm Ace and Luffy. “They’re important to me! They’re my brothers!” Of course, Sweaty Chins pulled the old, “If you come with me, they won’t be harmed.” Dying inside, Sabo agreed.
Sabo returned to his gilded prison. Ace and Luffy were dragged to Bluejam’s hideout. He tried to convince Ace and Luffy to stay away from Luffy. He told them Sabo only escaped to Grey Terminal as a mockery of the people who live there, that Sabo really looked down on them as an amusement to make himself feel superior. Of course Ace and Luffy did not buy his bullshit, so he said straight up that if they cared about Sabo, they’d have to let him go.
Weirdly, Bluejam gave them a job as couriers. I’m still not sure if this was because he genuinely wanted to recruit Ace and Luffy into his crew or if he wanted them to be part of the bomb plot and laugh as they realised they’d helped destroy Grey Terminal.
I Fell Into The Burning Ring Of Fire
Tumblr media
Back in High Town, Sweaty Chins was hard at work trying to erase Sabo’s criminal record. He can do this because he has cash and social clout. Sweaty Chins tried hard not to part with cash, urging Sabo to lie. He had been tempted into those criminal acts by feral bandit children, after all.
Because Sabo isn’t awful, he refused to drop his brothers in it. Sweaty Chins kicked his chair away (excellent parenting there) and bribed the guard to erase Sabo’s record. Problem solved! Now he could become a good, obedient noble again. Hurrah!
Then things got weird...
Back at Sabo’s home, Mr and Mrs Sweaty Chins had adopted a sinister noble child called Stelly. The name might resemble Stelio Kontos, but this kid is nowhere near as cool. Stelly was replacement, in case Sabo didn’t work out, apparently. Lovely.
Turned out Stelly had a big mouth. He blabbed to Sabo that the Nobles of High Town had planned a spate of Social Cleansing By Fire because a Celestial Dragon was due to visit. The sight of all the icky poor people and the garbage heap might be too much for the Celestial Dragon’s delicate eyes.
This news freaks out Sabo because he is not evil. “But.. people live there!”
“YES. THEY WILL BURN!” Stelly crowed with glee.
Sabo had a “screw this,” moment and jumped out the window. Seeking clarification, still unsure that anyone could be that heartless, he roamed High Town. For some reason, everyone was making fire jokes. “OHOHO, IT SURE IS WINDY TODAY. FIRES MIGHT SPREAD!” Unable to take it any longer, Sabo straight up asked an old gent if it was true.
It’s as if High Town had a residents’ meeting and thought, “Screw it, let’s just burn Grey Terminal. Cheaper than hiring a skim, am i rite?”
Of course, Sabo went nuts. He was surrounded by freaks. Utter psychos. His brothers would burn because the poor people of Grey Terminal were inconvenient. But before he got the chance to escape, he was caught. Sweaty Chins kicked him into a cellar and locked the door. What a guy! Watching Sabo beating on that door screaming for Ace and Luffy was sad.
I would love to see Sweaty Chins have karma hit him like a brick one day, I swear...
Someone Set Him Up The Bomb
Tumblr media
Back at Bluejam’s Courier Business, Bluejam finally let Ace and Luffy in on the big secret. The boxes they had been carrying contained oil and explosives which would be used to Blow Grey Terminal to Kingdom Come. But hey, he wasn’t the mastermind behind it, so that was alright, right? He was just getting paid. And speaking of money, did Ace and Luffy happen to have any lying around?
Because what Bluejam care about more than anything? Money. Turns out the mastermind of the fire was the King of Goa. Apparently, he promised Bluejam and his crew titles and status. As soon as Bluejam said this, I thought, “There is no way in hell, mate. You are being played.” Nobles barely help their own. As if they’d help you, one who was born a commoner.
I didn’t have long to wait. Bluejam hammered on the gate to Edge Town, gave the signal to be let in. But they were ignored by the guards inside, just like the desperate residents of Grey Terminal were ignored by the guards when they begged to be given refuge. When they retreated to the ship, they found that burning too. The king had double-crossed them.
The whole fire story was actually pretty brutal because something similar happened in real life that was all over the news where I live. A tower block of apartments where poorer people lived went on fire. Seventy-two people died. Some of the bodies will never be identified because they were living there illegally or were sub-letting while waiting for naturalisation papers. Why did the tower block burst into flames? Cheap, shoddy, flammable cladding. Why was the tower block clad in that material? To approve its appearance for the rich people who lived opposite. It looked grimy and run down. The sight of it might hurt their delicate eyes.
This entire plot just reminded me of that and I’ve got say, if Dragon asked me to join his army right now, I’d probably say yes.
And speaking of Dragon...
We Need Febreeze, Stat.
Tumblr media
Desperate to save Ace and Luffy, Sabo escaped through a vent. He reached the city gate, tried to open it and had the crap kicked out of him by a guard. When a mysterious man in a green cloak approached, I thought, “YES! DRAGON IS HERE. HE WILL TAKE SABO AWAY AND LET HIM JOIN THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY. ANOTHER FINE RECRUIT.”
Wherever there is injustice and class-cleansing, there is Dragon.
Dragon asked Sabo what happened. Sabo spilled his soul and I felt wretched watching him. The self-hatred Sabo has and his powerlessness to effect any change because of the firm grip the defective system has on the OPverse.
“This town smells worse than Grey Terminal. It smells like rotten people. If I stay here, I’ll never be free. I’m ashamed of being born a noble.”
“I know how you feel. I was born in this country too. But I still don’t have enough power to change a country.”
“You’re really listening to me...” Sabo whispered. (That got to me. For the first time, an adult actually listened to him and acknowledged his feelings on the matter.)
“Yes,” Dragon said. “And I will never forget.”
Breaking News: The Poor Can Avoid Being Poor By Not Being Born Poor!
Tumblr media
While Bluejam swore vengeance against the King (optimism!), the king himself had planked his arse on his throne and was complaining the sky was too bright because of the fire. Never has the urge to reach through reality to slap a fictional character been stronger.
“Daddy?” little noble daughter asked. “Why aren’t the people in Grey Terminal humans? Why do they have to burn?”
A great question! A potential ray of light! Might this innocent child stir the king’s conscience?
Did she hell.
Honestly, this scene was too real. People actually talk like this. They genuinely believe it. This may be filler, but damn, it is near-the-knuckle good filler.
Mama Bear To The Rescue
Tumblr media
In the meantime, Bluejam had gone off the deep end because he realised the futility of vengeance and hit rock bottom. Out for blood, he cornered Luffy and Ace and insisted they died together... but first, that treasure they had stolen!
About to put a bullet through Luffy, a strange, blue haki-like moment felled every single member of Bluejam’s crew. Only Bluejam himself remained standing. I’m still not sure what happened here and who was responsible for it (Dragon? Was he the one who cut the path through the fire to help the Grey Terminal people escape?)
At any rate, it gave Dadan the opening she needed to storm in and rescue her boys. (I was so happy when she called them that. JUST ADMIT IT, DADAN!) “I won’t stand by and watch someone try to take my boys’ lives... even if I’m not their real parent.”
I was a bit annoyed by Ace standing his ground when Dadan wanted to scarper. He endangered everyone else and Dadan was horribly injured fighting Bluejam (mostly burns from fleeing the fire after). It was explained later that Ace is like Roger, who would never run from a right because he would rather let the ones he loves escape. The noble sacrifice only works if you can guarantee their safety. If you’re wiped out then the enemy turns on your loved ones, how can you protect them them?
It distressed Luffy too, who was carted off and didn’t hear from them for days.
At least that convenient path through the fire was created, eh? And where did that path lead?
A Revolutionary Army ship with Dragon, Ivan-san and BARTHOLOMEW BLOODY KUMA!
LOOK WHO’S IN THE BACKGROUND!
Tumblr media
(I really hope this is canon because this is something I have wanted confirmation of for AGES. Please let it be true that Kuma was once part of the Revolutionary Army.)
I loved this entire scene. When Ivan asked Dragon how he knew what was going on in this East Blue Backwater and Dragon answered, “This country is an example of how the world will be in the future. There can be no happiness where the undesirables are thrown away. I will change the world.” For all Dragon’s deadbeat dad status, you can see where Luffy gets his ambition and stubborn determination.
Then Dragon addressed the tired, frightened, shivering crowd of poor, Grey Terminal outcasts and shouted: “Those of you who are willing to fight for freedom, come aboard!”
But there was one person missing. I must admit I looked for Sabo on the boat. I thought Dragon might have taken him along. Maybe Dragon didn’t because Sabo was only a kid and he might have had family.
I wish he had. :(
Destination? Anywhere But Here
Tumblr media
The next morning, the sun came out and the clear up began. Any survivors were to be shot on sight. The guards remarked how few charred bodies they found. Hopefully, most of them were Bluejam’s crew and the rest found their way to Dragon’s ship.
Sabo woke up in an alleyway. I was disappointed because Dragon hadn’t taken him. The disappointment was compounded when he was immediately caught and dragged home to High Town. Sweaty Chins enlisted two of the king’s goons as personal guards and calmly threatened to have Sabo killed unless he educated himself to be a noble.
“Be more like Stelly”, Sweaty Chins said, “who is so dependable and who will be getting new clothes to see the Celestial Dragon.”
Of course, Sabo would not be going. He could not be trusted. Sabo was imprisoned in his room. Everything was greyscale except Sabo. All colour had drained from his life. He had no idea whether Luffy and Ace were alive or dead. Was sure they were alive but realised trying to see them would place them in danger. Living like that would be awful. I felt sorry for Sabo, despite his privileged upbringing. The kid was straight up depressed.
“What is freedom?” he wondered. “Where can I find it?” Then he overheard a convenient conversation between his guards. The Celestial Dragon would visit tomorrow. Only one guard and Sabo would be in the house.
This was his chance. He wrote a note with a huge smile on his face.
The next day, a huge, flag-waving crowd gathered at the port to welcome the Celestial Parasite Dragon. I hate stuff like that, so I was already in rage mode.
My mood was NOT IMPROVED when Saint Jalmack SHOT SABO’S WITH A BLOODY BAZOOKA BECAUSE HE WAS A RUDE COMMONER.
:|
At that point, I was convinced Sabo was dead because his top hat (Sabo’s symbol) was seen drifting to earth). I’m still 70% certain he’s dead. Mainly because he hasn’t been seen since (unless there’s something I’ve missed). Sabo’s death also puts Luffy’s reaction to Saint Charloss in perspective. Luffy punched him because no one punched the guy who killed Sabo.
But... there was no body. That is my number one rule. And there was that moment when Dragon’s ship pulled in at tiny Zoro’s island (TINY ZORO!) with someone who was badly injured and needing Ivan’s treatment. Dragon had also been in the audience watching the ceremony for the Celestial Dragon. I have my fingers crossed but won’t get my hopes up.
Take Care of Luffy
Tumblr media
Of course, that wasn’t enough heart-string tugging. This is One Piece. My feelings had to be put through the wringer.
Dadan and Ace finally made it home. That was the single good thing that happened in 503. They saved each others’ lives. Dadan punched Bluejam to death (metal) and ran through fire with Ace. Ace stole medicine, treated her burns and carried her back to the shack.
But Dogra (a bandit) also made it back with news of Sabo. Ace immediately flew off the handle, seeking vengeance. Dadan talked sense into him. This was a Celestial Dragon. They would only have him killed. “Your father’s death changed the world. When you become a man as important as that, you can do whatever you like!”
Oh, Dadan. Where were you at Marineford? Weirdly, her words were prophetic because Ace’s death really will usher in a new pirate era.
Then the letter from Sabo arrived.
“Ace, Luffy, I hope you guys weren’t hurt in the fire. I’m worried about you but I believe you’re okay. I’m sorry to say it but when you get this letter, I’ll already be out to sea. Things led to things and I decided to set out before you. My destination will be anywhere but here! I’m gonna become stronger and be a pirate! The three of us have to become the freest pirates ever. One day, let’s meet up somewhere. Somewhere on the wide open sea, definitely. By the way, Ace, which of us do you think is the bigger brother? It’s odd but our brotherhood is my treasure. Luffy is still a weak crybaby but he is our little brother so take good care of him.”
At that point, I hadn’t seen the scene when Dragon’s ship pulled into Little Zoro’s island, so that brought a tear to my eye. I was so mad at the waste of Sabo’s life, mad that Ace and Luffy had already lost something so precious to them while they were still so young and mad that Sabo’s worthless parents hadn’t taken action against the slug who murdered their son. I was also mad at Dragon for not taking Sabo (but I still have hope that actually did happen).
After that, Ace swore to take care of Luffy. The boys worked hard to improve themselves. They even asked for help with their manners (that dine and dash thank you was hilarious). Now Ace’s well-mannered persona makes sense. Imaginary Sabo guided Luffy in his training, encouraging him just like he always used to.
Then, when they each turned seventeen, they broke Dadan’s heart by heading out to sea.
Why did they chose seventeen? Because that was Sabo’s deadline. At eighteen, he would become a full-fledged noble, so he intended to escape when before then.
Damn... this series. ;_;

(3 of 4) OPVengers. Meeting Luffy. Again and for the 1st time. (because we all know that this is gonna be a mess of the highest caliber)
“Why do they call you Gol D Ace,” Steve asks curiously as Ace frowns at the newspaper that a bird had delivered. “I thought your name was Portgas D Ace, was,” he pauses. “Were you just too polite to correct us?”
Ace blinks slowly at him, the same way that Steve has seen Kotatsu do, before sighing, “About twenty, fuck I’m suppose to be twenty two? Twenty four years ago, there was a man who became the Pirate King, before his execution, he said that the person who made it to this island that he had left his treasure on would take his place. His name was Gol D Roger, he’s-” he gestures hopelessly. “-my male genetic provider.”
“But you’re suppose to be twenty two?”
“My mom, Portgas D Rouge, lived on a small island called Batterilla. That man stayed with her for a time before turning himself into the marines and the marines heard rumor that Gol was going to be a father. They killed a number of women and young children to prevent his bloodline from continuing.”
Steve feels sick because this is starting to make the Marines sound more like the Nazis in his memories, the men who would kill off another group of humans because they didn’t approve of them. For a government to willingly, publicly, approve of murdering children and pregnant women-
“My mother extended her pregnancy. I think it was Conquer’s haki, which forces your will over someone else but Gramps said it was will power, for almost two years. It killed her, she lived long enough to name me.”
“She sounds like an amazing woman,” Steve says instead, because he knows amazing women. Portgas D Rouge sounds as strong as Peggy and his mother, the number of other women that he’s met over the years. “I’m sorry you never got to meet her.”
“Thanks,” Ace says smiling softly before glancing back at his paper. “This says that Luffy’s been up to his usual shit, the little brat, and gives us an idea where he’s going to be heading, since Marco’s heard rumors about Luffy working with Trafalgar.”
“What a Traflga?” Tony mumbles into his cup, eyes narrowed at a speck of nothing on the table. “Is that a food?”
“Trafalgar Law, he’s a member of the Marine’s pet pirates,” Ace says shrugging. “He’s got a devil’s fruit that,” Ace shrugs. “It’s a little hard to explain, I think. But let’s say if you run into a blue circle, you’re fucked because he’ll dismember you. You’ll live and get everything reattached easily enough, but it’s annoying.”
Pepper hums looking at the map that Ace had taken from Marco, “Where is Fishman Island on this?”
“Under this,” Ace answers tapping on a landmass. “It’s underwater, you have to get the ship coated so that it can go under and this island is Saboady, best place in the world to find someone to coat your ship,” his finger trails to another island. “This is Dressrosa. If Luffy keeps on track then he’ll be here about the same time that we will.”
“Any plans for when we arrive?” Pepper asks finally, probably mentally calculating the days until they arrived. Steve has found that she plans as well her as she does for Stark Industries. She also looks more relaxed than Steve has ever seen her. “We’ve got several choices.”
“Undercover,” Ace answers simply. “The island has been taken over by one of the other pet pirates the Marines have running around. His name is Doflamingo and I would burn him alive if I got the chance.”
“What,” Clint asks raising an eyebrow. “is a pet pirate?”
“The marines have a group of seven pirates that they Warlords, whom work for them. They offered me a spot before I was revealed to be,” he taps his name in the paper. “It also offers protection, which is why some people take it. I wouldn’t but I know that Boa Hancock worked with my brother to try and help me escape execution, which means she’s playing her own game.”
The politics of this world are just as complicated as Ace and Marco had tried to explain to them in the beginning and Steve doesn’t know what to think. Sometimes he thinks that maybe pirates are right, maybe they’re the ones that are doing the right thing, but then, then. He doesn’t know what to think and it’s driving him mad.
“You said undercover,” Pepper says because she’s focused. “Undercover how?”
Ace smirks and Steve shivers because the last time that they saw that face, they had taken out a marine ship that had been chasing them and left the survivors for dead, “What do you know about disguises?”
“You don’t want to get involved with that,” Clint whispers as Luffy clings to the man that he thinks is Ace’s other brother, the one that Marco had mentioned, sobbing his heart out. “They’re already having emotional break downs.”
“I died in Luffy’s arms,” Ace says softly, leaning back against the statue that they’ve taken to hiding behind, not looking around it to catch sight of them. “And he’s got a big fight coming. I don’t think it’s fair to throw him off balance just yet.”
“And Sabo’s not doing the same thing?”
Ace hums, “your older brother dies when you’re not even in the double digits, but he comes back years later to tell you he’s alive before a big battle. Emotional, but not compromising. Your brother who died in your arms to save your life two years ago shows up alive?”
“Point,” Clint says softly. “What is your plan then? I know you made us all memorize what Luffy’s crew and this Trafalgar guy’s crew look like, but if Sabo’s running around too, who we don’t have a picture for just your description, he’s got to have allies.”
“That’s Sabo’s fault for being a member of the Revolutionary army,” Ace shrugs and Clint can see the tension in his shoulders.
“Would it be that bad? For Luffy to see you now?”
“Marco says Luffy was catatonic after my death. If you were that bad after someone dies on you, what would you do if they came back?”
Clint sucks in a breath through his teeth, “Jesus fuck. So we’re good to be spotted as we like, but you’ve gotta keep yourself out of sight. Do you have a plan to meet up with Luffy again?”
“After. There’s always time after fights like this and I think it’ll be better. Just,” Ace shrugs and he pushes himself upright, pulling the baseball cap that Pepper had shoved onto his head down to shade his face. “We can’t avoid to distract him now. I can’t afford to ruin this for him.”
“But after?”
Ace grins, halfhearted, “After this, I think Luffy would love to have both of his older brothers back in his life, don’t you?”
Doflamingo stops short at the swirling inferno that separates him from where Law has dragged Straw Hat, flames too hot and bright for him to risk a step further.
“You know, I think that you’re a little creepy about Trafalgar,” that’s a voice he’s heard before. The entire world had heard it. “But that’s my baby brother down there and no offense, you fucking nut job, but I don’t think you’re going to get a step closer to him.”
“I see the rumors about your death were exaggerated, Gol D Ace.”
Gol hisses and his eyes narrow, “Portgas, Noble.”
“Oh, you know about that, do you?”
“I know a lot of people and for those that I don’t Marco does. A little rumor about how the Donquixote family was disgraced? Marco is going to hunt down everything about that,” Gol smirks and the baseball cap looks foolish on his head. “He’s going to beat you.”
“A brother’s belief, I heard Straw Hat thought you would live.”
“I did, didn’t I? I’m standing here and,” Gol shifts and his shirt falls open revealing his chest and not a single sign of the wound that Doflamingo had expected to be there. “I certainly hope you don’t think I would be stupid enough to come that close to death again.”
They both stop at the sharp rise in Haki, Gol smirking viciously and with all his teeth, “I hope your death is ignoble and erased from history.”
He vanishes, the flames gone as fast as they appeared, Straw Hat once more on his feet and moving forward.
Doflamingo laughs, shoulders shaking, what an interesting day. He would be sure to sting Gol up after he had murdered Straw Hat, he would get his answers then, after all, how many escaped death?
Luffy smiles, exhaustion pulling at him as he’s watches Sabo, alive and well, talking with his crew. It’s nice, he thinks he should probably be more upset, but Sabo’s been dead to him for twelve years since he was seven.
“You expecting someone?” Zoro asks as someone knocks on the door. “Because we aren’t.”
“I’m not,” Sabo agrees. “Unless Koala thinks that I’ve taken too much time and wants me to hurry up, would one of you mind opening the door? I’m a bit far.”
“I have it,” Robin says, an arm sprouting from the door and opening it, her voice wavers part way through her greeting. “I do not believe that is Koala.”
Luffy tilts his head to look at the door and feels his heart sink in his chest at the silhouette in the doorway before they step inside.
“Sorry I’m late,” Ace, because it looks like Ace, says smiling softly. “I got a little lost, would you believe it? Took me ages to get home-” he turns into flames as one of Zoro’s swords slash at him. “That’s just rude.”
“Ace?” Luffy hates how his voice chokes up and breaks.
Ace’s smile goes impossibly softer, like when he was dying in Luffy’s arm, “Hey Luffy. I’m sorry, I didn’t know it would happen like this. Are you okay?” He takes a step forward and stops as Luffy’s crew steps between them. “Oh, right. Gotta prove I’m Ace, don’t I?”
Luffy wants to tell his crew to move, to let him see his big brother, but Ace, not Ace, is right. He needs to prove he’s Ace or Luffy will kill him. If, Luffy can feel the tears returning, if it’s Ace-
“Remember where you spent all your time after Sabo died?” Ace says after a moment, keeping his hands up and Luffy’s eyes shift away from him to where there’s a too big cat in the doorway, because either this will be right or wrong and he can’t look at him. “I promised you that I would never die before you. Punched you first, said you should worry more about dying before me, since you’re so much weaker than I am.”
“Luffy, is that?”
“Ace,” Luffy sobs holding out his arms because he’s too tired to move but this is Ace. “Ace, it’s-”
“Luffy, you crybaby.”
“-you’re alive!”
Ace moves forward slowly, dropping down beside Luffy on the bed, “I promised, didn’t I? That I wouldn’t die before you. I’m sorry it took me so long to get home, I’ve missed you so much. But look at you.”
“Ace!” Luffy sobs, wrapping his arms tight around Ace.
“I’m sorry,” Ace whispers leaning closer and hugging him back. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was two years, I was only gone a week. I’m sorry.”
Luffy squeezes tighter, feeling his exhaustion creeping up on him, “Don’t leave.”
“Of course not.”
“Another world,” Sabo says slowly looking at the people who had burst in when Ace hadn’t returned. “You went to another world?”
“I don’t wanna hear it from you, you got amnesia that only went away after my death. Marco was gonna beat you up if you didn’t know so much,” Ace shoots back, brushing Luffy’s hair from his face. “Kotatsu, come here.”
The big cat that’s been sitting in the doorway, jumps onto the bed with grace and curls up against Ace’s side, purring loudly. Sabo remembers this cat, it had been at the house with Marco the Phoenix when he had arrived to see Ace’s grave.
“Why does Marco the Phoenix know so much about your childhood anyway?” Sabo asks. “You told him a hell of a lot for a crew-mate.”
“Serious boyfriend,” Ace corrects, smirking. Sabo’s head aches and he knows he looks shocked, he is. “We were pretty serious when I died and Marco,” he tilts his head. “Marco asked to, if we could pick up where we left off and I’m weak.”
Sabo shakes and takes half a step forward, “may I?”
“I’m not gonna vanish if you touch me, Sabo.”
“Fuck,” Sabo hisses tripping over his own feet to hug Ace, biting back a sob when Ace doesn’t vanish and remains solid. “Ace.”
“I’m glad you aren’t dead too, you idiot.”
Sabo hides his face against Ace’s shoulder, “That’s my line, you idiot.”
Luffy is warm, he’s warm and he doesn’t want to open his eyes because he had the best dream in the world. Sabo had been alive and he had kept his promise to Traffy, and then Ace had shown up. He had dreamed up Ace, alive and smiling and coming back to apologize for being gone for so long, which wasn’t even fair.
“Tatsu,” Luffy hears a whisper, too soft to do more than just hear the voice. “Let him sleep, he’s tired.”
“He doesn’t look like he’s going to let go of you anytime soon,” Luffy doesn’t know that voice but he can hear Robin laughing, so it means that it’s safe. He feels safe. “Are we going to be here until he wants to let go, Captain?”
“I think I owe him that much.”
Luffy burrows close and pretends that his dream is real for one long moment before opening his eyes.
“We’re going to travel with him for a bit, aren’t we?”
“I am, you’re going to be leave to go home at some point and I wouldn’t dare keep you,” Ace says grinning. “Besides, Tony says that he’s making me one of those things you use and if I don’t talk to him once a day, he’s going to come back and kick my ass.”
The woman he’s talking to laughs, her head thrown back, “That sounds like Tony.”
“Ace?”
“Oh,” Ace is looking at him, smiling softly. “Did we wake you up, Luffy? I’m sorry, do you want to go back to sleep?”
Luffy shakes his head, feeling like he’s about to start crying again, “Ace’s real.”
“I’m real,” Ace promises.

Oh my! First request! I’m not really good with angst but I do enjoy reading it. For you, I’ll give it a try. I don’t know if you want the character or the s/o in grief so I just picked which one was better.
Ace:
-Your chest was rising and falling at a steady pace. You felt your body slightly shaking out of pain.
- you were actually diagnosed with an unknown illness that slowly ate your life span away. You hated the thought of dying. You hated the thought of not fighting anymore. You hated the thought of…….leaving the man you held dearly so much.
You were currently at Marineford sitting on a wheelchair because you lost the ability to walk, seeing everyone fighting for the sake of the man you loved so much. You were currently guarded by the other Whitebeard Pirates that guarded the ship.
You felt like you were the worst person ever not able to do anything. You did help from afar because you being the sniper of the ship and you constantly wanted to help but you weren’t aloud to move from your spot. You silently cursed almost every second
“Fuck you, Fuck the marines, fuck me!” You muttered.
but the cursing stopped when you saw the last moments of Ace’s life. You saw some damn marine did it. Your eyes widen like it was gonna burst.
-“WHAT THE HECK, ACEEE!! YOU CAN’T FUCKING DIE YET!” you screamed until your throat was hoarse. You force your legs to move stand up. Shaking like a new born giraffe. You walked towards the scene, throwing your weapon in the process.
-you tried running towards Akainu, with your wobbly legs. Activating your haki, you punched him with all the power you tried to muster. Akainu just glared at you. He didn’t do anything knowing how pityful you were. You hated it
- you couldn’t accept it. You were supposed to die first. You landed face first onto ground because your legs could no longer support your weight. You looked at Ace that was in Luffy’s embracement. You fell blood coming out of your nose with your knees scrapped.
-“tch, Ace you jerk. You’re the worst.” You laughed at yourself. Akainu looked at you closely. “Call the paramedics, this girl here has “that” disease!“ He roared.
-what is “that” disease? How come he knows? You asked yourself. You felt cold hands snaking around your body and picking you up.
- you heard the crew shouting to let you go. You gave a sad glance at them “it’s okay, guys. I’m just a burden to you guys anyway. They might know a thing or two about this disease” you said as you remembered the moments where you needed the crew’s aid for almost everything.
-“Please tell Ace after you burried him, thanks for teaching me how great life is. I’ll treasure the memories with you guys forever” you smiled. You made a deal with the marines that if you followed them, they wouldn’t touch a single hair.
- Marco was nice enough and hanged your favourite hairpin at Ace’s grave. They grieved your disappearance the same level as Ace
- so, there you were, shackles on your ankle and wrists. Almost everyday, you were a labrat. Being injected with drugs and undergoing weird side affects. It was a miracle or according to you , torture, that you were still alive.
- you still refused to cry out of stubbornness and maintaining your ego. You just gave a bitter smile to them.
“Ace, I miss you. When can I join you? But for you, I’ll live”
Sabo:
- you couldn’t technically call yourself human. You were a forest spirit that lived in the forest near the Revolutionary base. Forest spirits are usually just a soul with no body but there was a tree that made you have a body. The golden sakura. You were technically one with the tree, of the tree dies, your body dies And you had a special relationship with a blond haired man.
- Sabo enjoyed visiting you from time to time to release stress. You guys would lie on the ground together while looking at the sunset together. You were happy with your current place.
-you were also close with the others. So, you were considered one of them. One day, you heard some bitter news. The Celestial Dragons had plans on the island but they were not pretty.
- you knew about, the revolutionaries knew about it but none of them dared to utter a word about it. They secretly planned on stopping them with hopes they would get to stay at the base
-your were also planning something on your own. You had the ability to control plants and other floral life but you were not a devil fruit user
-you stood infront of the huge army, ready to destroy. The other revolutionaries where captured and chained. You decided to attack using all your strength. Everytime you received an attack, your limbs would just grow back or heal.
-" you brat, hurry up an scram!" The leader shouted as he kept shooting. "Like hell I would" you said calmly. "This is my, no. OUR HOME"
-"Friendship huh?" The celestial dragon laughed. He then pointed the gun he was holding towards Sabo's head. Your expression changed for a mere moment but quickly morphed back.
-you sighed. "How about we trade something? I give you something and you leave" you said as you folded your arms.
- "What would that be?" You put both of your hands onto the rich soil and chanted something. Suddenly, the dear tree that was the one that gave you a 'life' appeared out of the ground.
-Everyones face was painted with shock. "T-the golden sakura...this is worth more than any bounty".
-"yes because it's able to heal any illness" you looked at them with a stoic look. "Fine, I agree with this trade"
-"WHAT!? YOU CAN'T DO THAT (Y/N). DON'T DO SOMETHING STUPID LIKE THAT" Sabo shouted as he protested, trying to free himself.
-you raised your hand Sabo to calm down. You then proceeded "I'll be the one chopping down the tree and you people will have to stay away from here." "How will I know your not lying to us" the cruel man said with a untrusting tone. "A forest spirit is not aloud to lie or I am cursed with a dying forest" you said calmly. "You also need to free my friends"
- the man stayed silent for a while. "fine" he said while telling his army to depart.
-"Are you crazy! Don't do it (y/n)! You're gonna die" Sabo said while the others noded. "Ahahaha, I would never die. Just my body....so, don't worry guys. I'll still be here watching all of you, here" you said while grabbing hold of your axe.
- you swinged your axe. As the blade hit on the bark, you were met with a jolt of pain. You stopped and hissed in pain. You took a deep breath and continued. You felt red liquid coming out of your mouth. Blood, the first time you ever got to see it coming out of you.
- you felt Sabo's eyes stared at you with agony but you didn't look at him. Finally, the tree hit the ground.
-" could you guys help me and send this to them?" You said trying to stop the tears. You felt your body slowly turning into stone. Suddenly, you heard Koala burst into tears. You then saw the others burst into tears but Sabo just looked at the ground out of grief.
-you chuckled. "Don't worry guys, you guys can still visit me everyday". Sabo walked to you and held your cheek while your body was slowly hardening.
- he gave you a sad smile "I'll visit you every damn day". He said stroking your cheek. "Fine then, I'll be waiting" you said smiling while a tear slid down.
-you froze into stone with the most beautiful smile, according to Sabo. He would come everyday and polish your stoned body. He would ask how were you.
- You would respond to him but he couldn't hear. You wanted to touch him but couldn't. You could see and hear him. But it was torture not able to talk to him and touch him
"As long as I can see you everyday is fine even though it's technically torturing myself"
Luffy:
-you were an ex slave but you managed to escape both your master and death at the same time. When you almost died out of your injuries, the Strawhats found you and took you in. For the first time in years, you felt loved.
-the rubbery captain was especially attached to you. He liked how brave and hardworking you were. You knew that you were never technically free from your master's grasp but you decided to ignore it for a while.
-you almost got a heart attack when you knew that your master was able to track you down. He kidnapped Chopper and Nami out of the blue asked for a trade and threatened they would immediately be sent to the government to turn into slaves.
-if course, Luffy was furious and demanded to move immediately. You just bit your lips, guilt slowly eating you on the inside.
-"Why do you look so sad (y/n)? We're gonna save them for sure!" Luffy said when he saw you.
- you just gave him an uneasy smile. You paused and noded with agreement. Alone, you were planning something. You didn't want to burden the others. You were gonna save them no matter what.
- when arrived, you ran after Luffy to look for your master. "YOU, GIVE BACK MY FRIENDS" the young man shouted. "Sure, looks like you brought what I wanted anyway" the master said smirking.
-he pointed to you. Sweat formed on your forehead. Luffy was confused until he figured out you were the 'thing' he wanted.
- as Luffy was about to get ready to attack, you injected a drug to knock out Luffy. You were actually prepared for this and was ready to take full responsibility for this.
-He just looked at you with sad eyes and blacked out. You looked at his unconscious body with guilt. You picked him up then hugged him with all your might.
-"please let me contact someone first". Your master just stood there silently but signalled his minions to free your unconscious friends.
-"Franky, could please come and pick them up. Tell Luffy I'm forever sorry and thank you." You said with a miserable tone. Tears then proceeded to drop down your cheeks and you gripped the den den mushi tighter. "I LOVE YOU GUYS, FOREVEEErrr!IM SORRY I CAN'T COME WITH YOU GUYS ANYMORE!!!UWAHHH!" You shouted with all you can knowing this was your last chance to tell them.
- the other strawhats knew about this except Luffy. They tried to stop you but you were persistent. You didn't have the heart to tell him but you left a note.
-"welcome back, my toy" your master chuckled. "Thank you, master" you said with a insincere smile plastered on your face. You stroked the unwanted logo on the back of your hand.
"Even though it was short, thank you for showing how beautiful the world is, Luffy"
Warghhhh, I think I got a lot of facts wrong but I tried. Sorry if it looked rushed. I'm really sorry it didn't really follow the theme you wanted but I had fun writing Sabo's part. I'm also sorry it's not angsty enough because I'm not really good. Sorry for Luffy's being so bland because I'm used to reading Luffy fluff. Thank you for reading. Love you

CONTINUATION MAGIC FAMILY AU
Hello !, I have come to bring you a second part of the familiar AU that I presented several weeks ago! I am very glad that you have liked them and I thank all those who waited for him. Many thanks to MarcoAceSabo for helping me again and posting it. If anyone wants to write something about this it is free to do so! I just want to be tagged or warned me by message so I can read it too! XD
____________________________________________________
Ace glared angrily at his new masters through his silver eyes.
He hated those guys.
They had simply snatched away his freedom and separated him from his prized baby brother to satisfy their selfish desires. Speaking of Luffy, he had to return to his side soon, for the boy must have recovered from the fever by now but needed to take care of.
God knows that if someone is lucky enough to survive eating a devil’s fruit, they can’t do such a thing twice, even by accident.
And Luffy is very prone to accidents.
“Is something wrong Kitten?” You look worried” Sabo says quietly, examining him with those dark blue eyes.
“Don’t call me that!  I have a name, I’m not some pet or a whore! “Ace screams, hissing as he lets his teeth take on the form of fangs to emphasize his point.
“Name?” Marco says interested, sitting on one of the expensive looking furniture “Has he been given a name too?”
“I’m Ace” he responds sharply and becomes a large black dog, as an affirmation that he does not want to talk to them.
They both launch forward without fear and Ace shrinks unwillingly when they touch him.
“Well Ace. We would appreciate some of your collaboration, you are a magnificent creature after all, "Marco says as he examines his body.” We are immensely happy to have found you.”
Ace does not respond, instead, he was trying to control his tremors, as they run their magic covered fingers through his fur.
He had not seen such strength since Rouge.
She found him many years ago, wandering through the damn forests, as a wild, wild change, and over the years she had tamed him to the point where Ace offered to make a contract with her and be her servant.
She looked after him with affection and care, almost like a son, and then gave him the greatest gift he would ever be able to afford. She gave him a part of her human soul, just enough so that he could achieve self-consciousness and humanity.
She had been killed by a mighty curse and Ace had taken over her orphaned son (Luffy) promising to take care of him until he became strong enough to defend himself.
Ace refuses to eat for several days, and his fur (because he still refuses to take his human form in front of them for too long) looks faded and somewhat thin. A plate with a huge fresh fish appears before him, and although it looks delicious he refuses to take a bite.
He grunts again when his gaze collides with the cat toys around him. A scratch pool, a chase bug wand,  along with a wool ball. He remembers how much he spat and scratched those silly wizards when they were given to him.
… he really likes playing with those things (Luffy played with him, all the time) but he will not do it in front of his enemies.
Sabo sits down in front of him with concern, trying to caress the plush black cat’s, but he receives a hiss and an attempt to claw.
“Ace? You have to eat, kitten. We do not want you to get sick … do not you like fish?” he says, putting a dish with a delicious chop rib and the familiar feels his mouth water “eat a little, please …”
Ace is confused by the sincere concern emanating from the statement of the youngest magician. He needs to see Luffy, take care of him, not be in this mansion following the whims of these idiots.
He hesitantly approaches the plate with the fish and tentatively bites the meat, melting by how fresh and delicious it is. He starts eating as if his life depends on it and Ace soon feels a hand that caresses his head a little.
There is a nice and sudden electrifying touch, and Ace is confused for a moment, before hissing at the wizard, scratching his fingers.
What had that been?
“ouch” the other complaints, pulling back his hand with a small wince but it’s nothing serious.
“Sabo? Are you okay dear?”
“It’s nothing Marco, just a little scratch, it was my fault for touching him so suddenly.”
Ace simply escapes, too confused by the delicious shivers that ran down his spine.
The shapeshifter pressed between the bars of one of the windows of the house, making no sound. His little legs ran quickly to the exit of the mansion, and he had not even taken ones step on the stairs when he felt an annoying touch on his spine, right where the tattoos were, which slowed him down.
Soon a pair of hands took him by the back of his neck, raising him off the ground.
“And just where are you going?” Marco asks quietly, beginning to enter the house again.
Ace has refused to take his human form and although Sabo and Marco have insisted they wanted to see it again, he has refused with grunts, hisses and scratches.
The shapeshifter moved in his hand, escaping from his hold and returning to enter the house again.
He did not want to be around those people.
“Ace, could you come here, please? We have something to ask”
Even if he wanted to refuse, he found himself walking to meet them almost automatically.
When, after many caresses and pampering, they explained to him that he was being assigned a mission, he felt the inexplicable need to be useful to them. He couldn’t refuse them.
Maybe it was part of the contract? He didn’t know but he set out anyway.
The shapeshifter runs through the fields of the magician’s mansion that Sabo and Marco had asked him to spy on. Apparently, they had suspicions that the sorcerer living in those lands was a necromancer and if so, they had to stop him.
Necromancy was forbidden under extreme penalties.
Ace took the form of a black rat, aware that it was something common in the old castles and prayed inwardly that there would not be a cat prowling around the lair because it would ruin his disguise.
He walked through the most hidden holes, and managed to reach a huge room, full of square doors like cupboards.
“Kishishishishi …” A strange man laughed, and Ace hid behind a wall. “How are my kids today?” He asked as he stared at the doors, confusing Ace.
“ Absalom? I need you to help me with something.”
Strangely inconsistent steps crept to the living room and Ace was horrified when he saw a man mingled with a lion. His eyes were glassy and unfocused, obviously dead.
“The body of Hogback and Cindry will go first,” he said, and the walking corpse obeyed, opening the doors and pulling out two stretchers with immobile bodies that seemed to have been torn apart and reattached together.
The man hammers some nails into the bodies, beginning to pray in unknown languages and after several minutes the bodies moved, like winged puppets with invisible threads.
He didn’t  need any more evidence, Ace just had to go out and take the information home to … Marco and Sabo.
However, as soon as he had left his hiding place to sneak out to the outside of the castle, something took him by the tail and lifted it.
It was a sticky, black substance that looked identical to the sorcerer.
“puag, a rat! They eat my precious corpses” The man hisses angrily.
Realizing that the other was going to get rid of him, he immediately changed form.
And he fights.
Marco and Sabo were worried, a lot.
Their dear familiar had left for a simple mission to the house of Moria, wanting to verify the rumors about his necromancy.
With his changing power, he could easily pose as an unimportant animal and then return home to inform them of what he had found.
But it had been almost a week since he was supposed to return.
They could not go by themselves to the place of Moria as that would break the pact of non-aggression, which they had until failure to the meet laws were verified.
The door opened and they immediately ran to meet the magical creature.
“Ace!” They called horrified when they saw him.
He was in human form, bleeding from several wounds all over his body, his face was a mixture of red and purple and he held his left arm as if it were broken.
He fell at their feet as soon as he saw them.
Ace woke up in a comfortable bed, his back resting on a feather mattress and his wounds bandaged and healed. His body ached but it was bearable and he remembered all the events that had led him to be in the situation he was in.
The necromancer and taking the wrong way to leave his lair.
Little by little he also noticed the hands of the magicians who called themselves his masters, applying healing potions on his wounds with delicacy.
He tried to growl but there was only a pained animal moan. The wizards looked at him, expressions filled with concern, and sighed with relief when they saw him awake.
“Gods thank you … we are so happy”  Marco’s hand caressed Ace. “What happened over there, Ace?” Did Moria do this to you?”
Carefully they gave him some water to drink and after a few minutes of rest, he could tell what happened in the lair of the other magician.
“Shit we’re sorry Ace. It was just a mistake, you did an amazing job, kitty”  Marco smiled “ it’s Moria who must pay for everything he has done to you”.
“We’re happy to have Ace back,” Sabo replied, stroking behind his ears even though he was in his human form. “It was us who failed to protect you, which, of course, will never happen again.”
The eyes of both magicians darkened.
“Moria is going to pay dearly for having hurt our precious partner”
Ace felt a strange shudder at the words. Did they care about him? He had thought that they only saw him as a tool of utility and experimentation. But now, seeing their faces so worried and their care diligent … he may have begun to doubt a bit.
Only a little.

Day 1: Character
Hi all! So, instead of posting in order here is number one, proceeding number 2...
Anyways, the prompt was characters so i aim to please! There are obv spoilers for p much everything so please dont spoil for yourself.
Monkey D. Luffy was a mystery inside an enigma. He was unusually idiotic but smart at the same time, in his own way.
He had little regard for the system of so called ‘justice’ or the world, for that matter.
He could lift his middle fingers up and say fuck you but he wouldn’t. No, he would become the king instead.
King of the Pirates and give the world the biggest fuck you he could.
Wherever he went he made friends; it was as natural as breathing, he was just…
There’s just something about Luffy.
Was it his charisma?
Was it the way he would kick anyone’s asses if they screwed with his nakama?
Or was it something written into their DNA, tying them with the free boy.
Makino watched over Luffy first for Garp but then she took a more parental role, allowing him into the bar as much as he wanted, the patrons simply adored him. But Makino saw the sadness in his eyes as he was clearly more lonely than the boy would let on.
Shanks was a pretty chilled guy so when the squirt had demanded he tell them stories of being a pirate he had indulged him. Who’d have thought that he would end up like this? He thinks, watching the blood, the carnage and more importantly, the fire-cracker that was Roger’s son.
Garp loved his grandson despite the fact that his good for nothing son had just given the babe to him without a backward glance. So he watches as he grows and finds himself more attached, he loves Luffy, he loves him more like a son than a grandchild.
Ace loved Luffy more than he loved himself despite the hatred he had for the rest of the world. It is why he couldn’t bear the thought of a world without his light so he moves and watches as his light flickers and floats away, the only regret heavy on his soul is that he will not see his baby brother become Pirate King.
Sabo loved him because he lit up the world and made Ace believe in himself. Years later and their pledge of brotherhood has not diminished. Sabo cries and sobs because ACEACEACEACE. But then he remembers someone else who believe he is alone, beingalonehurtsmorethandeath, and he pulls himself together.
Coby loves Luffy like a brother, it was only because of him that he had the courage to stand up to Alvida and say no. He becomes a marine for Luffy-san and when he sees him at Marineford… despite knowing that Ace is his brother, this is the path they have both chose. Later he tries to stop Akainu and meets the Yonkou himself, it is a befitting finish, he thinks.
Zoro joined him because of a promise and because he saw Luffy. And because of a promised dream, he will become the world’s greatest swordsman. He will make Luffy the King of the Pirates. He now follows the boy, no, man, because of all of the shit they’ve been through together.
Nami joined because of a mutual agreement but now she follows for she was encased within the charisma of the boy. She loves Luffy like a brother and cherishes his love whenever she sees him. He came for her even after everything.
Buggy wants to say he hates the bastard, well, he does. Partially. In Orange Town it was only fair that the bastard beat him, besides, it led to much greater things. Impel Down is hell and he unwittingly drags himself into a whole new mess following the rubber-bastard. And then Marine-ford… he hates it, the momentary grief he feels for the late Portgas D. Ace, son of Portgas D. Rouge and Gol D. Roger. So he helps the bastard out a bit whilst fighting World, it’s for a selfish reason but nonetheless he feels satisfaction as flames lick up the rubber man’s arm.
Gaiman watches the self-proclaimed mugiwara no Luffy hide the truth from him and he sobs, sobs that he wasted so much time here for those chests and now it was wasted. But he still loves the animals he is surrounded by. So, in two years time he will read the paper and jump in relief at the sight of the ‘Straw hats are back!’ emblazoned on the front page.
Usopp joined for adventure, he knows now that he never, ever wants to lead their band of merry misfits and he will cry and thank the man who saved him several times over.
Mihawk is impressed by the straw hat wearing boy, the one-armed, red-haired fool didn’t give away his treasure so freely. And then he recalls the rage in the boy’s face as he slashed the young swordsman. Then, at Marineford, fate smiles down on upon the boy and he escapes with his life.
Sanji joined for the ladies, well, that’s a lie and he knows it. He joined for his dream, but didn’t the rest of the fools in their tiny crew join for that as well? He remembers the hopelessness of being stuck on that island as his captain grieved and promises that he will never feel that way again.
Gin creates a new fleet, but, he knows that if Monkey D. Luffy, senchou of the mugiwara no ichimi, ever calls, he will join him.
Hachin watches in barely disguised confusion as he, and all of the other fishmen are defeated. Arlong had always taught him that humans were evil and weak. But then he will remember another before Arlong and cry for the man who is the hero of their country. He will try and defend the Sunny for a crew that is waiting for her.
Smoker ponders over the mystery of Monkey D. Luffy, son of the revolutionary Dragon, more than he probably should. He remembers the town of the beginning and end. But, more vividly the War of the Best replays in his mind and (he will never, ever admit this to anyone ever) felt his heart cry for the boy. But he is a Vice-Admiral and cannot ever endorse pirates so he will defeat Mugiwara no Luffy.
Dragon is proud of his son. He’s only met him once but Dragon watches from outside sources and the papers of what his son is doing to change the world. He might be doing it unintentionally but it is amusing to think about Sengoku’s reaction to his son. He will change the world.
Crocus knows that the crazy son of a bitch can do it, he has Roger’s smile, and the same air of confidence around him. Crocus cries and cries when he sees the news about Soul King, he shows an eager Laboon and the two cry in joy at the thought of one of their friends still being alive (was he really alive though?).
Vivi thinks that the Straw Hats are stupid, at first. She thinks they’re so dumb to be led into a trap like this, but she eats her own words as she watches a boy defeat Crocodile and save her Kingdom. She does not progress with him but watches through newspapers and den den mushi’s. (Her heart breaks at the battle of Marineford but she laughs when she finally figures out the meaning of the tattoo).
Tony Tony Chopper joins because, he isn’t a monster. He’s loves Luffy, his captain. He might be a naïve blue-nosed reindeer but he is Luffy’s doctor first and foremost. And if he has to be a monster to protect his nakama, then he will be a monster.
Crocodile is a shichibukai, he didn’t become one by slacking around. So he hates mugiwara no Luffy in the beginning, for such an awful good luck with Logia akuma no mi and watches as his plans fall to dust. He lost when he was a rookie, why should the overconfident bastard be any different? Although, he saves Portgas D. Ace, why? He doesn’t even know that answer… to piss of the Marines? Probable. Why did he save Monkey D. Luffy? He thinks it’s because the bastard will hurt more if he’s still alive after witnessing that.
Bentham never had many friends, ever. Not even when he was a part of Baroque Works, it was just how it was. No-one liked being friends with a queer. But after the fall of Baroque Works he protects the straw hat wearing boy because he is his friend. He feels like such a coward within Impel Down but… he knows he will have died to save Luffy’s brother.
Mr 3. Is unsure of the prowess of this boy, the powerhouse that took down his boss. He’s surprised when he runs into him again in Impel Down and even more surpised
Nico Robin is used to a life on the run. She joins the boy because he is stronger than a shichibukai, she will be able to use him to her advantage. But after so much, she can’t just let them die. And then… they come and she cries because her life has meaning. So, within their training she cries because her captain is alone.
Bellamy is a proud member of the Donquixote Pirates, he likes that, just mess shit up and you’re guaranteed a spot in Doflamingo’s crew. But the straw hat fool kicks his ass, just like that. And suddenly he is killing his friends, a cause of the flamingo and he cries, because he is given a second chance but is it really worth it? And then he wishes for the rubber fool to kill him, kill me. And he is proven wrong.
Blackbeard likes the kid, he’s got good fire within him, chasing his dream like that. But when he learns that the crazy kiddo is Ace’s lil bro he thinks well damn, one way to kill two birds with one stone. Later, after Marineford, he knows that he’ll have to kill the bastard, finish him off. It’ll be fun to watch him write in agony. He wanted to make him burn with his own brother’s akuma no mi but that idea is shot out as the bastard from the Revolutionaries beats him to the punch.
Montblanc Cricket is a crazy fool chasing a stupid dream. But that boy… he is just as dumb. But even so, when he hears the golden bell ring, he cries because thank you Mugiwara no Luffy.
Wiper thinks that the Straw Hat boy is a fool, and a weak one at that. But he is proven wrong as Enel falls and for the first time in a century, they are all at peace. He waves the straw hats away and knows that they will take the world by storm.
Aokiji is a fool, he knows this, but he does not care. He allows Nico Robin to live, he did, after all, let her escape all those years ago, it’s only fair if he lets the grandson of Garp live if he is willing to put his life on the line.
Franky joined because of his dream, they’re a crew of dreamers. And as his body becomes more metal than human he still loves their crew, he will become stronger so that his captain does not have to carry the burden of grief like that ever again.
Brook joined because he could. Well, that’s why he did in the first place, later on, it’s because the boy has bought his respect, as has the rest of them, so he sets sail and watches in horror as his crew is sent away because it is just like before. And when the tattoo comes through he starts a new career (temporarily of course).
Camie likes the pirates, generally, she doesn’t like pirates because pirates mean more abductions but one has to give someone the benefit of the doubt. And then she herself is kidnapped and then she’s on display and men and Tenryuubito and then Luffy. After the War of the Best she is sad for him but then when she sees him two years later she knows that he is okay.
Shakki has met many people over the years, both as a pirate and as a bar-tender on the Sabaody Archipelago. Monkey D. Luffy exceeds her expectations but at the same time fulfils him, she’s glad to see the straw hats come back together after two years of training.
Rayleigh is reminded of his own captain as he looks in the eyes of the straw hat bearing boy. A charisma of daring and challenge within him. It’s only proven as the brat single-handedly punches a Tenryuubito without any remorse. Afterwards, he’s glad when Kuma knocks him away because it means that they will not face utter annihilation. And then, he offers to train the boy because he has the potential but it is untapped. So he tries to help the boy heal and train.
Trafalgar D. Water Law isn’t sure what to think about Monkey D. Luffy when he sees the boy for the first time, he knows that the boy is a D, obviously. But he fights alongside Kidd and mugiwara-ya, decidedly impressed by the skill of the boy. Then the serious rage as he punches the Tenryuubito. And then he sees him broken and wonders if he will gain the courage to go on. When Law meets up with him later on, in Punk Hazard, he is amazed by the stupidness of the boy, but at the same time he is not surprised and he’s glad that he found a partner to take down Doflamingo down with.
Eustass Kidd dislikes the straw hat shit, because he knows that he’s going to be a pain in the ass to defeat when it comes to One Piece. And when the straw hats resurface two years later he laughs because, finally, someone worth defeating.
Jewelry Bonney thinks that the kid is certainly interesting, and then Marineford happens and she wonders whywhywhy, and that Blackbeard will pay. Her thoughts stray to the fool who didn’t surface until a couple of weeks after the war and rings the bell, signalling a new age. She likes it.
Kuma is first and foremost a revolutionary, he was secondly a shichibukai. This does not affect his day-to-day life and he fights against the injustices in the world alongside a man with a tribal tattoo. He watches as his leader looks to the East Blue every single time. He likes the Luffy boy, he knows that they’re not strong enough to face the New World yet so he flings them away and makes a promise for a boy in a straw hat.
Marguerite has never seen a man before in her life, but Luffy is the exception to this rule. And after he is brought back from the War she hasn’t seen a man so… broken.
Boa Hancock hates men, hates them as much, maybe more than Tenryuubito. But then Monkey D. Luffy comes crashing down into her life. He is a man, but… maybe. He can change her… And then… Then her Luffy is in such agony because his brother, his light, is dead. She knows how it would be to lose her sisters… For that to happen to her Luffy… But thankfully he seems to get over the pain of loss during the two years he trains.
Ivankov is an okama, he is also a revolutionary. But he simply adores straw hat boy, not just because of the strength of his spirit but also because he is Dragon-boy’s son. It is a depressing thought to know that the boy’s brother is dead but he knows that the boy will be fine, he has Rayleigh and Jinbe to stress over him.
Jinbe joined the man because he was asked, simple as that, Luffy is a man worthy of being followed by him and it is long past due that he flexed his wings as a pirate he is proud to be. So he reminds Luffy of what he has to live for and relishes in their meetings two years later, first at Fishman Island and then at Whole Cake Island.
Whitebeard is impressed by the cheeky brat, having the gall to challenge him and defend him from the Crocodile brat. So, he knows that there is a strong possibility that Monkey is the D Roger has been waiting for. And when a sacrifice is made of blood and fire he will enact his revenge and hope that his crew will protect the straw hat brat.
Marco decides that seeing as it was Ace’s final wish to protect his baby brother so he swoops down, deciding that Monkey D. Luffy will survive this, even if it means death. And then when his aid is requested long after the revenge war that they lost. He gives it, because Monkey D. Luffy asked, and he is the only link he can think of for Ace…
The Marines think that Monkey D. Luffy is suicidal for his actions at Marineford, any sane person would run away, tail between legs at the thought of fighting the Navy’s best. Although, he survives, so what does that say about their thoughts?
Fukaboshi thanks mugiwara no Luffy a lot, he is happy that the boy broke the law about the exchange of blood and defeated Hody of the New Fishman Pirates. He mended fishman island even if he didn’t think it. And the fact that the boy was going to contest for their territory with a yonkou… he owed a lot to the mugiwara no ichimi…
Shirahoshi has never left the tower she lives in for almost as long as she could remember. It is a condition of her living, but Luffy-san… he comes in and breaks her fragile world into little pieces and she is grateful for it, so very grateful. It is her dream to see Luffy become King of the Pirates now…
Doflamingo is a heavenly demon, he fell from the heavens to this ungodly realm. But he will rule this domain eventually. He hates the straw hat fool, ruining all of his plans and getting the stupid boy his revenge. His plan is in shambles but he laughs because he knows he will be released, he knows far too much.
Rebecca thinks that Lucy has a very good chance of winning, he is obviously very strong and agile. She is worried about winning the mera mera no mi, then she discovers just who Lucy is and resigns herself to her fate. And then her kingdom is free and she lives as free as anyone else, all because of the Straw Hat Pirates.
The Tontatta tribe is very secluded, has always been this way since the very beginning (after their release at least). But even so, they willingly commit to the Straw Hat Fleet, even if their commander did not agree, if the Straw Hats are ever in trouble they will come in all their forces.
Bartolomeo finally meets his idol and can’t help the tears swimming in his eyes, even so, he promises that he will win the mera mera no mi for Luffy-senpai! And then when he is officially a part of the Fleet he smiles for he may be needed by Luffy one day.
The Straw Hat Fleet is comprised of over 5000 members in total, none of them are officially bound to their leader for he did not want to oversee such an amount of people. Instead, they pledge themselves to him and promise to come if they are ever in trouble.
Admiral Fujitora, for the first time in many years, wishes that he had not slashed his own eyes, he wants to see Monkey D. Luffy’s face. See his smile, what kind of man must he be for an entire kingdom to protect him?
Carrot thinks that Luffy is funny, he smiles a lot and laughs a lot. He’s also super strong, strong enough to avoid the two elders on Zou! She was very excited to go on an adventure with the Straw Hat Pirates to save Sanji-san!
Reiju’s first thought is thank god Sanji ended up with such a crew. They’re so nice and she can’t help and hope that he had a semi-normal childhood after he left. She wishes it for Sanji, he was so nice and she couldn’t do much about Ichiji, Niji and Yonji otherwise they would hurt her.

I'd love some fluff Marco & Ace HC ❤
This may be my firstMarco request~ (Don’t worry Ace is there!)
Marco:
This dork needsanother dork in order to be a dork… (does that make any sense at all??)
Anyways Marco isquite a sweetheart, he’s very caring and is all about making his s/o happy evenif it means giving up his own time.
PDA isn’t a must butit’ll happen; he’s not gonna be forceful if his partner hates it but he’llstill tease them regardless, just slowly and little by little.
He enjoys a night outbut what he enjoys even more is a night in just huddled up inside maybe readinga book, watching something, talking and/or just relaxing.
He’ll gladly givemassages I needed; he’ll need some help in order to know where you like it andnot and after that he’s good to go.
He wouldn’t reallymind if they were to give him a massage but he rather they not. If you’rereally persistent about it he’ll give in.
His hugs are reallycalming and gentle warmth always radiates from him. His hugs are also somewhattight he wants to make sure he can feel them and let them know he cares.
Kisses from him aretypically onto of your head and/or even your temple. His are warm and gentle butstill forceful like his hugs as well.
He loves to receivekisses back and in public makes it better but only if it was his cheeks orforehead. Anything else is a bit too much of a show.
Loyalty is a must, ifhe has some reason for something sketchy going on he’ll call them out and typicallywas always nothing really.
He is fiercely loyalto them and once again expects the same. He puts a lot of trust in them andwishes the same from them and if not he’ll be patience if it were trust issuesor fears.
If his partner was toever have some sort of meltdown and mental crisis in public he’s alwaysprepared, he acknowledges where the closest escape route is and gently bringsyou over there to help you.
Overall Marco is avery committed man and of his word. He is quite understanding and knows theneed for space.
Ace:
Similar to Marco heis also a sweetheart (and a dork; don’t forget dork!). He does what he can toplease his s/o and make them admire life as much as he did/does.
PDA is not his cup oftea whatsoever; if he had an s/o who wanted to hold hands and/or even kiss himthey must be ready for him to burst in flames.
He’s easily embarrassedand tries to avoid situations that potentially can cause some sort of misfortune.
Even alone he’s quitea mess; he’s afraid of doing something wrong.
-However every onceawhile he does enjoy going out and at night to admire the stars.
If his s/o isn’t biginto astrology and star in general he’d be quite disappointed in them thinkingthat they don’t care for life like that. He’ll do all he can to make them adorethe night sky.
He really loves latenight picnics and typically in a small wooden land mass with a glorious view ofthe night sky!
If his s/o starts toget cold he’ll start up a little fire and bring them closer to warm them upwith his own body. His face is redder than a baboon’s bottom.
To him hugs are quitecomforting and he enjoys receiving them often or even if he needs one he’ll wraphis arms around you.
Kisses are more for intimacyand cannot ever receive one properly, he can’t just sit there and give a smileor even a kiss back; he’s hiding his face avoiding eye contact.
If they cannot respecthis little brother(s) (if he were to ever mention Sabo that is) it’s over forhim. He adores them so much that he needs someone who can listen and rememberthose little things.
He just as Marco is, brutallyloyal to them and needs the same; at first he wouldn’t mind but he needs toknow who they are and to trust them.
This dork needs a non-dork dork s/o (what even am I saying anymore…)
Please enjoy! I had fun with my dorks them and creating these!

Chapter 2 || Chapter 3: Bonds || Chapter 4
The introduction had been brief, for Iva had taken him aside before informing him of everything that had happened so far. Ace’s vivre card, the happenings in Impel Down and their escape. It hadn’t been long until there was a tearful farewell to the man who had opened the gates for them. (One Sabo truly did not understand, merely because he had not known him. But, he didn’t like seeing Luffy cry like that.)
And after it was all said and done, Sabo just sat down, trying to understand everything. Because, simply, he didn’t. Why he was here. What it had to do with these two brothers. And why the hell he hated seeing Luffy doing anything but smile and laugh.
At the very least, he knew he could trust his instincts. It was what had gotten him into this mess in the first place…
“You weren’t in the prison, right?”
Sabo glanced up at that to see Luffy sitting next to him. He wasn’t frowning, but at the same time he wasn’t exactly smiling either. It really unnerved him.
“No, I wasn’t.” Sabo itched to get away. He had enough on his mind right now and he didn’t need Luffy just pestering him and looking at him like that. Couldn’t he just smile already?
“Then how’d you get on this ship? Did the Marines capture you? Iva said you were a revolutionary…” Well, he supposed the innocent curious expression on Luffy’s face was better than that neutral one.
Sabo sighed and shook his head. “No. I snuck aboard this ship and stowed away. I was hoping to end up at Marineford.” And then you went and commandeered this ship, which annoyed the hell out of me. He didn’t add the last point however, as it was moot considering that was their destination at hand.
“Really?”
When Sabo glanced at Luffy, all of his nerves unwound themselves. There. That was much better, the way that Luffy was looking at him, eyes practically glowing.
“Yeah, from what Iva told me, for the same reason as you.”
Luffy made some strange sound of happiness. “Really? How do you know Ace? I mean, I hadn’t seen him in three years so I don’t know all of his friends and.. ”
…Goodness he was just going off on tangents, wasn’t he?
“I don’t know Ace.”
And that put a complete halt in Luffy’s spiel. “…Huh?” He looked confused again, but still happy, and that was good enough for him he supposed.
“Don’t ask me why, but for some reason I can’t let this happen. It…it makes me angry. It turns my stomach I just…” He shook his head. “Let’s leave it at that, shall we? I can’t exactly explain why I am the way I am.”
It was just… fact. Luffy just didn’t know him or who he was or his past and while he didn’t think Luffy would understand hopefully he wouldn’t pry.
“Okay!”
…Huh?
“It’s just your instincts right? I understand that perfectly fine.” He was laughing now. “I don’t get why your instincts tell you to save Ace, but I’m happy they are.”
…Weirdo.
.xxx.
Luffy was currently telling him about Ace. Explaining what he looked like and his personality and his devil fruit and Sabo, well, he listened. He might as well learn just who this man was that he had decided to risk his life for.
“And, and then I met him in Alabasta! It was funny because he was waiting for me there but people forgot to tell me his message, but I met him anyway.” He laughed sheepishly. “That’s where he gave me this.” And Luffy pulled out a burning piece of paper from his hat. He made a sad expression before putting it back. “It was so nice to see him after three years. He invited me to his crew but of course I refused. The pirate king has to be the captain!”
There was more laughter, and yes, Sabo was more confident that this was how he liked to see Luffy. Smiling and laughing and just having fun. He’d question why later.
“And! Oh!” Now Luffy was grinning. “I showed him my prized possession.” Now, oh that grin had turned into this expression. It was just… so happy. “You see, my friend Vivi, she was secretly part of this organisation…” Then Luffy had a sour face, gesturing towards Crocodile. “And she had wanted posters and!” Luffy’s eyes lit up again as he returned to the topic at hand. “You see, there’s this really cool pirate and I have his wanted poster and Ace and I knew him as kids and I showed Ace!”
…This idiot was giddy. What the hell.
“And I met him a few days ago at the tree-islands and Torao has all these cool tattoos when he became a pirate! He’s got this cool beard too! And this really awesome-looking sword! And this bear and…”
…That wasn’t telling him anything Luffy. Nothing at all. And he wasn’t aware of any pirates named (or nicknamed) Torao either…. And Luffy was going on about just how cool this Torao character was…
He doubted they’d be getting back to the subject of Ace anytime soon…
.xxx.
More news came out about Luffy and Ace and Dragon however. How apparently Luffy and Ace were not brothers by blood, but by bond.
(It only made him remember that image of sake and the taste as it burned down his throat…)
What was it? And why?
Sabo sighed and just rested his head against a wall.
“Someving the matter, Sabo-boy?”
He opened his eyes to look up at Iva. “Headaches.” He explained, and truthfully, yes, he getting them in droves right now. Whenever that fog came in or certain things were said… And they just kept happening.
“Ah. Are vou vinking vhat I vink vou’re vinking Sabo-boy?” Iva said, gesturing towards Luffy.
…Now that Iva pointed it out, yeah, it was starting to make some sense…
“Vi vould suggest vou vait on vat Sabo-boy. Not vat Vi’m saying it’s not possible but…”
Sabo nodded. “He has enough on his mind right now.”
Iva nodded. “It’s highly possible, vou know. Vou both originated from East Blue after all.”
Not to mention, well… he doesn’t exactly remember it at all, and wouldn’t that be a slap in the face? No, let Luffy worry about Ace, and not some kid from his past whom he may or may not be.
.xxx.
This? It was war. Completely and utterly, and those damn Marines had the upper hand with Ace in sea-stone cuffs. And after hearing that this publicity was all over the fact of who Ace’s biological father was, well it only ignited that fury within him even more. In fact, it was almost blinding, that anger. He had to save Ace, he had to save Ace. He couldn’t let the Marines have him.
And he fought. Luffy fought. They all fought. Many fell, allies and foes alike.
(All of this, over a fucking bloodline!)
Here the Marines were, demonising these two brothers based on who their fathers were. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t righteous. Not one bit of it. And finally when they achieved hope, when Ace was freed and on the run…
Sakazuki descended, and he attacked. Not only with lava, but with words.
Sabo saw it coming. They all probably did. Except Ace. (Or if he did, he didn’t care.)
Ace refused to keep running, and Luffy was trying to convince him to continue. Begging him. Telling him that this wasn’t what Whitebeard wanted and Sakazuki was just goading him on and they needed to leave.
(The others were too preoccupied with the other admirals. He needed to get there, it wasn’t boding good. Not with Luffy’s condition, or Ace’s temper…)
And he saw it. Saw the way Sakazuki had aimed his molten fist towards Luffy. Saw the way that Ace had stepped in the way to protect his younger brother… Saw as red exploded everywhere. Fire. Lava. Blood. Saw the fist as it impaled Ace… Saw Luffy as he tilted back, screaming to the heavens...
He saw Ace die.
He saw Luffy break.
(No… no, his mind screamed. No!)
The shock shook him and brought him back to the present. And he watched… Watched as Sakazuki brought his fist back…
“NO!” Sabo screamed as he charged towards the admiral with a haki-infused claw. Anything. Anything. He needed to stop him from killing Ace…
And Sabo diverted Sakazuki’s attack.
He heard Ace’s scream of pain, and Luffy’s strangled cries of worry, but he had to ignore it for now. No. He needed to keep Sakazuki handled, he couldn’t let this… this monster harm these brothers anymore.
“Another revolutionary?” The man of magma spat at him. “How dare you…”
Sabo hardened his gaze on the admiral. “You will not harm these brothers!” He channelled all of his fury at this man. The man who hunted down Luffy and Ace. The man who tried – and almost succeeded – in killing them.
(He could hear sobbing and muttering behind him. In fact, he heard his name muttered, but whether or not they were referring to him or the other Sabo, he wasn’t too certain.)
He didn’t allow himself to be distracted, no. He used his Haki to disrupt the magma from seeping behind him. God dammit, couldn’t somebody just fucking grab them already?
(He heard the sound of a body hitting the ground and a heartbreaking scream ripple out into the air. What happened? Fuck. what happened?)
“I’ve got them now! Ace is still alive!”
(…That was Jinbei. Oh, thank god...)
Chaos, it was chaos everywhere, and in his relief, that damned Sakazuki broke away from him, and began to chase after the fishman carrying the two unconscious brothers away.
Bastard.
He was able to spare a glance at Ace finally, and the sight was not pretty. If he didn’t see a doctor soon… (And if he hadn’t diverted Sakazuki’s blast…)
Sabo narrowed his sights on the admiral once more… He couldn’t let that bastard win.
