Just trying to work out how I want this goofy boy to look. Bonus Remus

remus really struggles with his anxiety and mood swings around the full moon because his senses are heightened, and he is easily overwhelmed. the other boys noticed this quite quickly after remus told them, and immediately started coming up with ways to help him cope. his joints hurt and everything’s too loud? sirius will take him to the dorm and get him a hot water bottle. he needs reassurance that he’s not a monster? james is there with a whole speech and comforting words. he’s being particularly bitchy? peter will share his chocolate stash with him, or ask him about the book he’s currently reading. they know what he needs based just off of his mood, and remus appreciates his friends family so much. that’s why when everything happens on halloween 1981, the full moons become more painful and he becomes more fearful of himself. there’s no one to take care of him anymore, he’s just left alone with his memories and spends his time dwelling on his grief and regrets.

remus hated what he turned into every full moon. when he first met regulus, he was cautious of how he acted and what he said. he kept things simple and short, never asking for more. this killed him, and without knowing, it killed regulus too (he hated small talk). remus always longed for something more, but he couldn’t risk it. he didn’t know why it was so difficult with regulus than how it was with the others. it wasn’t until regulus found out that remus was a werewolf (about maybe a year after they met, regulus was able to tell), that the two felt something different. regulus visited remus at the hospital wing till he was able to leave, and he would ask him if he was okay. it wasn’t that he doubted madam pomfrey’s magic, he was just so worried about him. remus couldn’t bare to look at him, knowing that regulus knew what ‘disgusting’ creature he was.

“are you going to leave?” remus asked him, still looking down. his voice, unlike usual, was filled with yearning. it was a feeling he had never felt before. he didn’t want him to leave, he wanted regulus to stay. he felt selfish for wanting that. he had always expected the worst, but he didn’t know why he was so afraid now.

“why would i leave?” regulus asked gently, cutting a chocolate bar in half and passing it to him.

remus slowly took the bar, and he looked at regulus hopefully.

“i’m not afraid of you, if that’s what you’re wondering. i would never be afraid of you.” regulus added, his eyes locking with remus’.

and remus, who normally despised touch, leaned into regulus, letting his body release the tension that had built up.

it all felt so different with him.
