I can't tell which Byler confession I want more: the one where they're screaming at each other and then one just blurts it and the other is super taken aback and just like "wait, what?" or the super fluffy one where they're doing one of their signature staring into each other's eyes during a heart-to-heart and glancing at one another's lips and then just go "fuck it" and kiss.
Cause let's be real, they have a lot of shit built up and it's probably more likely to be angsty and dramatic which is honestly fine by me. But then the cute, romantic, staring at one another leading to them kissing would be fucking adorable too. In my mind, I could imagine Mike being the one to just kiss Will and give into his feelings for him and then Will being like super confused understandably. (Poor guy thinks that Mike's so head over heels for El and like the most heterosexual man.) So then Mike rambles about all his feelings to Will and how he didn't love El he loved him.
Like that'd be so cute.
But on the other hand they could be fighting about like everything and then Will's like "I love you!" and Mike just freezes and is like "what?" And then Will is just sobbing and word vomiting everything about the painting and just EVERYTHING and Mike listens and hugs him and then they kiss.
I can't decide. Help.

Today at work i got insanly inspired to write and once i got off work, i immidiently went on my phone to type it out. XD I just finished a 3 hour long writing ses(had a 15 minute food break in the middle). ^^ Probably just gonna forever gonna be a wip thing, but it was fun and i'm kinda proud of it. Despite it being rough in some parts, mostly because i wanted to rush to the 2nd half and i didn't wanna get stuck, i'm happy to share it. ^^
It's a kinda long, so i'm gonna add a Read more line to not fill your dash with text. Also, first time trying formatting out! XD
So, originally this post was just gonna be a "i actually wrote something! Look!" thing, just showing of some work i did, but after writing the reason why i wrote a line a certain way, it went into something very sad and kinda dark, so if you don't wanna read about death, a light mention of suicidal thought and grief... just stop after What even is my life.
Idk why i wrote it, but it took alot of effort and it feels... important to me, i guess. Part of processing and such. So, yeah. Read at your discretion. Thank you for your time. 💜
Ezio had many regrets in his long life. Not being there when his father and brothers were arrested. Of not being there more for his sister and mother. Of not trying to be together with Cristina. Not being able to save her. Or being able to save Uncle Mario and Monteriggioni. But biggest of all, not having spent more time with his family before the execution.
He had love, but didn't cherish it. Didn't truly feel it and took it for granted. But unlike so many others, Ezio could take those regrets and change them. Thanks to Desmond.
When he walked into the Library, he thought he might get an answer or two in return for many more. He truly didn't expect that calling out Desmonds name while the Apple bathed the walls in gold would result in it being answered by the being himself.
The being looked like a man, clad in a white light, eminating from a strange device under his right arm. His face looked like an exact replica of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's face, though his build was closer to his. Broad shoulders hidden underneath a strange hooded white doublet and long legs wearing strange tight fitted pants made from a material he did not recognise. Even the scar was the same as his! Was Ezio made in the image of the one he was the Prophet for? Was Altaïr the herald? All questions Ezio wondered, but not knowing if Desmond was like Minerva or not, he dared not waste any questions if the beings patient was thin.
But first: "Are you Desmond?" He had to know, have it confirmed, even if the being appeared after the name was called.
"Ezio? Is this the Library? Am i seriously bleeding while dying!?" Desmond was looking around at the empty tomb, before his eyes returned upon Ezio.
"Yes, this is Altaïr's library. You are bleeding? I do not see any blood and you are dying!? Is there anything i can do to help you? Please, my lord. Tell me what i need to do to save you." Ezio was desperate to know his purpose and if all his life lead to this moment, where he could save Desmonds life, he would fulfill it.
"There's nothing you can do. I am dying semi willingly and even if this is some Animus infused death hallucination, it is nice having my last moments with you, even if your not really here. I am so sorry i couldn't answer any of your questions or try to save you from losing everything. You never deserved any of it. In the end it didn't really even matter. I am sorry you wasted your time chasing riddles and ghosts." He looked so grieve struck while saying it and the look Desmond had while gazing down onto Ezio could only be described as lovingly.
"What do you mean? Could you have saved my uncle!? My father and brothers!? Why didn't you if you do not think i deserved it! I have served the Brotherhood almost my entire life, sacrificed so much trying to find out what Minerva meant and now your telling me that it was all for nothing!? If you think i wasted my time then give it back!"
Desmonds eye's widen before softly smiling and saying: "Your right, you wasted your time and sacrificed too much for nothing. Let's change that."
Before Ezio knew it, the world went white and he knew nothing more.
—————
When Ezio awoke, it was to a bed he hadn't seen in almost 40 years. His childhood bed and his room. He couldn't believe it. He was given a second chance. To live his life. To right wrongs. To save his family! To think going to the Library would result in this!
At the thought of the Library, Ezio suddenly remembered Sofia. To have forgotten her and even abandoned her without a second thought left Ezio feeling guilty. Would she wait outside the Library before realising he would never come back? Or because he is now in the past, a past where he intends to change the future, would she never meet him? Never exist? The thought of her hurt, but like so many others, Ezio knew that him being in her life would have risked hers. Even if she knew and accepted it, it is still better if she never got the chance to know him and inevitibly suffer because of it. Same with Cristina. Though he could now choose her, he knew that despite the many mistakes in his life, the Brotherhood was not one of them and his refusal to properly let her go killed her. Letting that life affect her once again was too cruel. It was for the better to just let her go.
Federico nudged him with his elbow. "Brother, what has you thinking so hard you look like you bit into something bitter?"
"Nothing much, just wondering what i should get." Ezio smiled and laughed. He was currently out with his family on a trip the market. The last time around, he had decided to sneak off to spend some time with a girl he didn't even remember the name of anymore instead of spending time with his loved ones, to his great shame and regret. This was the last thing his family had done together outside of dinners before the execution in 3 days. That he missed out on it was one of his biggest regrets, but Desmond let him change it.
That Ezio might never truly understand or know what or who Desmond is, how he watched him in the Vault or even what Minerva's people and the Pieces of Eden truly were will forever haunt him, but the trade to see his family again and to even be able to save them is a fair trade. He can go his life wondering these questions and maybe try to find them now that he will have more time, thanks to already knowing the Templars plans and who will be an enemy or ally.
He felt a finger poke him inbetween his eyebrows.
"There you go again Brother. Thinking too hard! Be careful or you might hurt yourself." Federico teased before yelping and then laughing when Ezio pushed him.
"Please don't start fighting now sons." Their father said before turning back to the stall owner to continue discussing what wares to buy and the prices.
"Sorry Father!" Ezio said before giving his brother a teasing look that promised this was not over.
Ezio remembered this day well enough. Not to remember the woman he decided to chase, but enough to know that when his family had been at the market a horse had run wild there and according to Claudia, nearly trampled her down in the confusion.
He was a bit sceptical to believe it was as close as she had made it out to be, but he knew horses much better now than he did before. After years of riding them to and from places in the chase for his targets, he knew that having one running towards you in a blind panic could scare anyone. Even though he knew to be wary of them and treat them with respecy during his original childhood, he didn't truly get how these gentle beings could be as scary as his sister had made the poor creature out to be.
According to his family, it had been a war horse, bloodied, running around in a blind panic, probably scared from a skirmish. Being chased by guards hadn't helped and eventually the guards got a good shot at it and put it down.
Ezio wanted to save his sister years of fearing horses, so he kept an eye and a ear out for any signs that the animal was on it's way.
There. A scream. Everyone stopped and looked around for the source. The source was still hidden by the crowds, but in the distance you could start seeing people moving away from something coming this way and the screams were getting closer.
Ezio breathed and slipped into his Second Sight, the Eagle Vision, as he now knew Altaïr had called it. Or more accuratly, Eagle Sense. With the years, his constant use and need for it had changed his Sight. It had become much stronger, letting him see farther, expanded his hearing, to let him hear his enemies heartbeat and even know what moves they were going to make. Even let him know where his enemies was going to go on a patrol route.
It truly was a gift and now he would use it to try and predict where the animal would go, as to lead his sister and family away from the danger. Then he saw it. The shine of something important. Something that glowed as strongly as the Apple of Eden had. The horse.
There was much about his Gift he could not explain. He had tried, but it is much like explaining sight to a blind person. Why things he didn't even know about could glow gold and lead him to the answer. Why allies glowed blue and enemies red, nor how he could tell friend from foe and now. His Sight told him, with the same intuition as telling friend from foe, that this horse was Desmond.
How is Desmond here? Why? Did he lie about dying? Or was certain death only a large chance that Desmond beat? Ezio supposed it did not matter. If he lets events play as they had before, Desmond would be struck down by an arrow within minutes. Oh, maybe Desmond had tried to prevent his father and brothers demise, but was struck down in the attempt? Though, why choose to do it as a rampaging horse? Either way, Desmond was clearly panicking, almost upon him now. If Ezio could not calm him down, his death was guaranteed.
But how? Ezio has just seconds now to plan a way to stop him before he is trampled down.
Then, he finally realises, that among the bright gold he shines, he also glowes blue. Such a deep colour which he has only seen in the greatest friends or closest family and he knows, Desmond would never harm him. The look of pure love on Desmonds face made more sense now.
So Ezio decides to not move and simple raise up his hands, as if to pet the horse.
"EZIO!"
————
Desmond was in pain. He knew that Juno lied about his death being quick and painless, but god, why did it have to hurt so much!? During his hallucination, it wasn't nearly so bad! And can't forget the weird nightmare he's having ontop of it. He's a goddamned horse on some battlefield. He was rearing up when the nightmare started, neighing as his rider was shot and killed by an arrow.
There's so much blood. The smell strikes fear in his heart. There's so much red. He slips into Eagle Vision and there's even more red. Not a spec of blue. A sword slides against the armor he is wearing and the screech of metal is too much. He bolts.
He needs to run. Away from the monsters with sharp sticks. Away from the smell of blood and death. Away from the shadows hiding hunters. They follow him. They chase him for a long time.
He is getting so tired.
He needs to get back to the barn. His owner would make everything alright. He would croon soft noises he did not understand, but the tone was soft and gentle. He would give him a treat while brushing him down after a hard days work.
He did ride him into scary battles he did not understand, but afterwards he would wash and groom him extra thoroughly, while feeding him the best apples, crooning more sounds in a happy tone. He would repeat one of the few sounds he understood, which meant "him" and "pay attention to me".
Dante.
But he wasn't on his back anymore and he didn't hear his voice. Just the loud, scary noises of more men in the shiny hard thing. They had the pointy sticks too and tried to take the things dangling from his mouth. Only his owner can touch that! Only he is to be trusted with them.
Running is getting harder, there is large, straight hills in the way and the path is narrower with many strangers in it.
There is still so much red. He can still smell the blood, feel it clotting his fur. Too much red!
Blue.
Suddenly there's blue in front of him. He knows blue means ally. Though why and how this person is blue confuses him. But he is Blue and running him over is not good, but why is he standing there!? Does he not see the red!? Smell it!? Does he not understand we need to run!?
"Desmond"
That single word pierces the fog of fear and wild panic that has flooded Desmonds mind. Ezio is in front of him, hand already gripping the reigns while the other rests on his muzzle.
"There we go Desmond, everything is alright."
Desmond still feels phantom threads of fear, but with Ezio's calming blue glow and his voice saying gentle reassurances, it feels far away.
Now with his mind fully human and not driven by horse instincts or memories, the question becomes: How and why the fuck is he a horse in 15th century Italy with Ezio!?
What even is his life.
————
So, a couple parts i'm stupidly happy about is the "He had love, but didn't cherish it. Didn't truly feel it and took it for granted." part. This, as you can probably tell was inspired by the famous quote "When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it. I had time, but I did not know it. And I had love, but I did not feel it."
I believe Ezio didn't fully understand liberty until he tried to live a peaceful life with Sofia and realised he would always fear Templars taking revenge on his family and time, because the knowledge that he would never see his children grow up to adults had never been a concern before he met Sofia. He probably thought he wouldn't have a family at all.
But love. Love he would understand what he missed. He would understand it just days after he lost his father and brothers. Those moments you missed out on. Of opportunities to spend time that you squandered away. Time you will never get back, because in real life we don't have time travel.
And now i understand it. Before the end of the last year, i was like Ezio before the loss. Before i lost my grandparents only a few weeks apart.
Those opportunities to spend time was rare and thankfully i took most of them, but i still squandered it away by not actually spending time with them. I just visited and hid away in my room, wasting the time by sitting on the phone.
I will forever regret that because ny memory is shit and besides a few childhood ones, i have no memories of them. I still remember their voices, they were pretty distinct thankfully, but how long until i forget that.
It hurts and as someone who is afraid of death and it's finality, such a reminder that time and love is finite is soulcrushing. It is only recently that i have truly started to think of my grandparents and i guess try to process the fact they are gone forever.
When we first got the news that my grandpa had died, i was even more glued to my phone, not wanting to acknowledge what was happening. I also didn't wanna sleep and only got some when i passed out from exhaustion. We even went to the doctor to get time of work and some sleep medication i didn't dare end up taking.
I even had thoughts of just taking all the pills and just sleeping, to get away from the pain forever. But i'm thankfully too much of a coward, so it just stayed thoughts. I'm doing much better now and as i mentioned, i think i'm starting to process the fact that they are gone.
So, yeah. This post went in a direction i didn't expect. But it feels important and maybe in a few years i can look back at this post and see a snapshot of who i was and reflect on who i am now. So, here's to the future me and anyone else who needs to hear it:
I hope things are going well and if they're not... well, things get better. They always do. You're loved and even if your loved ones are gone, they live on in you. You will carry that love with you, for the rest of your life. 💜

i have this head canon for kh4 and have 0 ppl to talk to abt it ( maybe ill make a blog or write a fic ) but like riku saves sora from quadratum and since we all love angst, a part of riku saving him and bringing him back is sacrificing the memories sora has of him - so sora would come out with no memory or no relationship with Riku, but Rikus willing to do it to save sora. To do said saving Riku will have to sacrifice his body in some way ( not like lose a limb sacrifice but his body would be shattered in some way - idk i really like the idea of riku with mega scars and those scars representing his undying love for sora ) and they come out of quadratum passed tf out, everyone rushes to barely save rikus life and sora wakes up with 0 memory of him. Kairi's pissed, the king is pissed - EVERYONE is pissed like Riku cmon how could you do that to yourself and to sora but whatev , time passes on and the MoM shows up to fuck some shit up and Sora goes on another adventure ( basically what kh4 would be - travelling to worlds collecting soras lost memories ) while Riku and Mr Michael Mouse try to find a way to beat MoM. At the end of this process Sora meets up with the Radiant Garden group and Aerith - through her super magic powers - is somehow able to give Sora his memories of riku back bc Soras heart will never be complete without Riku ( def with the help of kairi - like having your past love find your true love kind of deal? ) and Soras like "Where is he, where is Riku?" and in their adventures trying to find Riku they figure out through his lineage that hes either the King of Light or the King of Kingdom Hearts. Anyway, Riku and Mickey are facing off against MoM and Riku is , stupidly, abt to sacrifice his life again for like.....everyone.....and Sora shows up like NO SIR MISTER MAN basically stops him yelling "HES THE KING, HES THE KING PROTECT HIM" and basically saves Riku like a knight in shining armor protecting his king. they realize their love for each other, destroy MOM ( through the power of true love ) and live together happily ever after. thoughts?
I definitely have some thoughts and I do love a good angst and this has it, Riku saving Sora requires him to lose all his memories of him
It's not like they already were missing in this case before he had them but by saving Sora he loses all the ones of him
And Riku would because that's how he is, he is selfishly selfless for Sora and would do anything to save him even if it means dying or risking his own happiness like in kh3 sacrifice and kh2 becoming Ansem's form to awaken Sora
Him being on the verge of death is so great to me and the others are clearly upset since he's not thinking about his own worth again and would do anything for Sora. All his scars being all the times he sacrificed for him like even perhaps in previous games such as when he took a blow during that Xemnas fight.
Sora traveling around collecting his memories of Riku sounds interesting and there's so many possibilities. There could be more parallels of what happened between them through Disney worlds as well.
Also I like the idea of Kairi and Sora past relationship mention and that she can help Sora remember Riku. Kairi probably knows what's up with them and Sora probably has no idea at this point and maybe help him realize through gaining some memories.
Riku is of course always sacrificing himself and just sees his life as not really valuable but with knowledge that he's this king Sora saves him.
Love a good knight in shining armor saving a princess, being tied to them once again. Riku needs saving, Sora is the knight rescuing him from darkness and in this case sacrificing himself.
Riku being king of light perhaps relates to royal bloodline theory?
Their love for each other saving everything would definitely something that could happen in the games since friendship and love seems to play an importance.
Some of my first thought after reading for the first time was this is really good and so terrible at what Riku did to save Sora.
I think this has some fun and interesting potential. I'll be curious if you ever make a blog or even write a fanfic about it.

Tumblr media
I wonder what exactly makes him "reliant on enji" 🤔. If the point is for him to figure out his identity separate from his father in a similar way shouto did, then him relying on enji for his character arc would go against that right? I'm also interested in how the scenario you presented with enji dying in the first war would play out. How would it affect the character arcs of the rest of the family?
Ok, I kind of walked into that one, didn't I? Alright, I'm gonna try my best to explain my feelings, tho they're probably going to be more jumbled and less thought-out than my meta (hence why I left that part to the tags, more as an inside-voice). I hope this makes sense.
When I say that Hori wrote Touya's as "reliant on Enji", I mean exactly this, that Hori purposefully wrote Touya's backstory so that Enji would have to play a role in thematically solving all the loose ends. While most of the role of actually saving Touya will fall on Shouto's shoulders, there are plot threads that only Enji can address, because Shouto simply isn't Touya's father and had no role in his birth (which is one of Touya's character hangups that needs addressing). And I think this is by design; Horikoshi wants Enji to be likeable at the end of this, so he's staging things to make Enji get an opportunity to prove himself.
While Shouto can restore Touya's hope and thus push him into an exploration of his identity and boundaries, what Shouto can't do is being accountable for staging Touya's birth as a business transaction. That's a responsibility that falls on Enji's shoulders, one that he has yet to fully acknowledge. Him and Rei both do.
And while I agree that Touya's eventual self-worth shouldn't be based on whether or not his father loves him or approves of him, what I meant is that Hori is using Dabi as a plot device to redeem Enji, instead of centering the writing of Touya's arc around the idea of healing and doing what's best for Touya.
Does that make sense? Idk. It's just the feeling I get. For a couple of arcs now "doing right by Touya" took the backseat and doesn't seem to be the direction Hori's going for.
As for why I said I wish Endvr had died in the war arc... I think Endvr kinda forces the plot to rotate around him, to accommodate for his stagnancy by sacrificing other character's arcs, and it only makes the story worse in the long run.
I could've seen Enji dying in the war arc if Hori wanted to write a story not focused on catering to Enji's pride but instead on the healing of the todofam without him. In that light, though, Dabi's backstory would've needed some reworking. Obviously, if Dabi killed him he couldn't get the closure I was talking about above. But it could've still been a viable path if Hori wrote the todofam plot from the pov of doing justice to the victims for the abuse they suffered. If Dabi had been allowed to kill Enji, then Hori could've framed it as a narrative where abuse isn't excused, where the consequences of society refusing to hold Enji accountable are not swept under the rug, but cause the fall of a corrupt idol and show everyone that this ideal of heroism simply isn't sustainable. It could've been a condamnation of the mentality that protects the status quo over its innocent victims, and it could've given Dabi room to redefine himself as someone who doesn't need Enji's approval to be worth something (if only it was written right).
But that's not something that works with the current set up; it's nothing more than an AU, or a wish of mine that will never see the light of day I guess. Ultimately, Hori's not aiming to write anything poignant about abuse. This is just a feels-good story about how hope and intent can move mountains and pave the way to a better future

Finally finished my relisten of season one of TMA so here is TSH characters as TMA S1 statements (basically whether I think they’re similar to the statement giver, victim or would end up in that situation)
Richard
Mag 1 Angler fish - he would get drunk fall down stairs and then avoid being killed(??) by not being bothered to get up.
Mag 2 Do not open - Again with him getting into situations but avoiding death (+ him doing it for some cash seems about right) him and Joshua Gellespie have the same vibe
Mag 3 Across the street - not saying he’s a stalker or anything but he would end up in this situation
Mag 6 squirm - again I think he’s the one most likely to end up in this situation
Mag 23 Schwartzwald - Richard writing to Henry vibes
Mag 33 boatswain’s call - would survive in this situation by just following along with what everyone else is doing
Henry
Mag 9 A father’s love - okay idk what about this just reminds me of him honestly he reminds me of the Father ( killing people to serve a fear entity to protect himself/who he cares for is right up his alley idk)
Mag 19 confession I - his hubris leading to his downfall sounds like something that would happen to him
Mag 34 Autonomy class - Julian as the teacher and Henry as the students
Bunny
Mag 21 Freefall - he would be eaten by the sky
Mag 31 first hunt - do I need to explain myself with this one
Mag 37 burnt offering - fucking around and finding out
Camilla
Mag 15 Lost John’s Cave - out of the pair of them I think Camilla would be most likely to try sacrificing Charles to save her own life
Mag 28 Skintight - idk I just feel like Camilla and Melanie would share the same/similar attitude in this situation
Charles
Mag 10 vampire killer - your sibling dying bc of ur inaction then becoming a vampire hunter seems like something he would do
Mag 14 Piecemeal - you can’t tell me this statement isn’t just a variation of Charles and his hatred for Henry
Francis
Mag 29 cheating death - was considering putting this for Bunny but the whole bold not brave thing gives Francis vibes
Mag 36 taken ill - his thing with disease (I forgot the name of what it’s called but yk what I mean)
Mag 38 lost and found - the homophobic vase got him + I think he spiral would destroy Francis if given the chance idk why
I’ll probably also do this for season 2 when I eventually listen to all of that again as well. I love doing these silly little comparison for my current two fave interests icl

Grabs hands of TOH fandom
STOP PROJECTING YOUR WORST FEARS AND BAD PRIOR EXPERIENCES ONTO THE CREW AND SHOW AND HAVING THE ABSOLUTE WORST BAD FAITH
Literally nothing has been done at all to suggest that Hunter's gonna get normal magic, or that he's "becoming a real boy". Killing off a character after they have served their narrative purpose and their death would provide more to the plot (i.e. GETTING REVENGE ON BELOS. HUNTER HAVING ENOUGH OF HIS SHIT COMLETELY AND ADDING SIGNIFIGANT NARRATIVE WEIGHT TO THAT) is basic storytelling. Palismen have already been shown to have this ability before, Flapjack absolutely did it for Hunter so that him sacrificing himself to defeat Belos still MEANS something. In story he did it because fucking duh, he was DYING already there's no point in them both dying, and TWO, he probably? Idk? Didnt want the last remnant of Caleb to fucking die???
Also, for the love of God, if they wanted to portray Hunter becoming Caleb as a good thing they would have already done that already. They were cut for time but they wouldn't have shown Hunter having such fear about being a clone of him, Hunter distancing himself to the point of cutting his hair. Hunter would have changed his name to Caleb like people suggested would happen! But none of that happened, and Hunter's eye colour changing is JUST to show that Flapjack is STILL with him.
Edit to add an additional note: Flapjack probably isnt even fucking dead? We have seen before that the palismen souls resided in Belos. Put that together with the fact that Hunter's eyes changed to match Flapjack, and it becomes pretty clear that the same thing has probably happened?
TL:DR; Stop projecting your worst fears onto the crew, and be wary that your hot takes are based on the absolute worst faith possible.

Re: Dumbledore headcanons reading like conspiracy theories. I one hundred percent agree. People go down some insane spirals, where they remove themselves further and further from any reasonable interpretation of canon events as described.
The thing that gets me most about it is just how inconsistent the theories often are within themselves. Dumbledore is somehow a super genius who knows everything about everybody and his only goal is to... idk, furhter his own fame, I guess? Become more powerful? But then he doesn't USE the fact that he knows everything about everybody and can manipulate any event towards any outcome in order to do thta except to like. Put Harry in uncofortable situations year after year? For what?
This is a man who could have been the Minister for Magic if he had ever indicated that he wanted that position. He's already a beloved war hero and highly respected for his abilities. What, exactly, do people even think he's trying to accomplish by psychologically torturing Harry and probably causing the rise of Voldemort in the first place and, I don't know, sacrificing children to the blood god, probably.
Like, this idea that he knows everything and can predict how everything is going to go all the time is so ridiculous to me. It is very clearly something that Harry THINKS when he is a kid (even speculating on whether Dumbledore wanted him to go after Quirrell) but I've never read that as anything but a childish need to have an adult around who has a handle on things. Dumbledore himself keeps saying in books five and six that he doesn't know everything and he makes mistakes. His ability to predict Voldemort is fifty percent having a spy and fifty percent hard work over a long time to understand the man as well as he possibly can. He simply doesn't have a time to build a dossier like that on everybody he meets.
Sorry for the rant, I apparently had a lot to say about this topic. I always kind of wish that if people want to make him a villain, they at least do it properly: a man who has managed to fool an entire country for fifty years and is widely beloved -- with unexpected, loyal supporters in many places -- despite being secretly evil would be a scary villain to take on. Instead people somehow make him stupid and very easily foiled on top of everything at which point I have to ask... how did he even get this far?
For what?
Obviously, Dumbledore is just EVIL. This EVIL person refused all real positions of power and stays in his shabby Hogwarts, where he can easily be discredited and lose power, and makes genius cunning plans, simply because he’s evil and a psychopath. He makes Harry search for Horcruxes because he obviously enjoys watching Harry suffer. Dumbledore knew everything about the Horcruxes from the start but didn’t want to do it himself. It’s like a hunger game, he sits and watches from above as Harry runs after Horcruxes, a vile manipulator. And Voldemort isn’t bad, Dumbledore made him that way.
Tumblr media
It reminds me of "XXX are ACTUALLY evil and were created by a secret government, you're being MANIPULATED" lmao
I think, most people can’t forgive him for "neglecting" Harry’s emotional state and personal well-being. For them, personal well-being is so much more important than everything else that anyone who threatens someone’s personal well-being isn’t just a person, they are an evil psychopath. According to the narrative, Harry is the only one who can save their lousy world and thousands of people, and they think that Dumbledore should have hidden Harry from all harm and sent him to Mallorca, and then watch as Muggle-borns and Muggles are genocided. Then he wouldn’t be an evil psychopath.
Dumbledore is emotionally detached, yes, and he’s not perfect, but for example, to say that Aberforth is kinder than Dumbledore because Aberforth took care of Harry – what are they measuring kindness with? How warmly you are dressed and fed? They don’t care that people around them are dying, right? Aberforth is not the kindest person, he’s just afraid of moral responsibility and doesn’t really care about the people in the WW.
There’s no such thing as a mass of people, every mass is made up of individuals. But people often forget about it. That’s why people sympathise more with Harry because they see his suffering on every page. But there are also hundreds, if not thousands, of Muggle-borns, half-bloods and Muggles who suffer, die and are tormented every day. But they don’t matter, right? There’s no book written about them.
Sirius, for example, also thinks that the well-being of others is more important than personal well-being (his "conversation" with twins). Harry thinks so too. I don’t understand why people think Harry would refuse to search for Horcruxes. He’s not the type of person who would enjoy life while others are dying. He cares deeply for others, and this sense of responsibility runs right through his heart and it’s clear from the very first books.
The trolley problem is thought to be "unsolvable" among people, but 60% of professional philosophers think that you should flick the lever. This is the essence of moral responsibility for our actions. Refusing to flick the lever and letting five people die instead of one isn’t good, it’s moral irresponsibility. Aberforth actually creates much more evil than Dumbledore. And many studies have shown that about 80% of people will flick the lever. Bit this number drops when this one person is someone close to them. That’s why Dumbledore is an evil psychopath to them, they can’t understand how he could not "care" about Harry (but he actually did care, he just wasn't emotionally close to him).

how would eddie react to their s/o sacrificing themselves to save him, ending with them dying in his arms? (jk they're not dead they just become his guardian angel but nobody knows that yet hehe)
a/n: wrote this practically half asleep, so forgive any typos and lack of sense pls
you're really throwin some angst at me huh? ok then here we go!!
poor baby would cry his eyes out if seeing you dead in his arms, he'd call for you till his lungs give up, beg for you to to stay with him, probably get so pissed with himself that he let you do that when he could've died instead of you, and need someone like steve or dustin to literally pull him from your body, or he wouldn't let go of you
and for the "grief" phase, i feel like he'd be on the extremes, but like two possibilities. in both of them he'd blame himself for what happened and following that he could
go through bad paths, like start drinking and getting high 24/7, locking himself from the rest of the world, stop doing the things he loves like playing guitar and d&d, i mean, his trailer would turn into a trash dump, never opening a single window again, he feels to guilty for that, and besides, for him there's no living if you're not there
or he could luckly suffer to death on the first days and then start thinking like "y/n wouldn't like to see me im this state" and use that as a motivation to be the Eddie you always wanted him to be, acchieving things, living life at best, because he would know that wherever you are, you're looking for him and feeling proud about the man he became
but either way i feel like he'd rather spend the rest of his life alone with the thought of you than to find someone else, even in weakness moments when he'd have one night meaningless hook ups, he'd wake up feeling like trash, guilty as hell and probably crying to a picture of you explaining how sorry he was (+ those meaningless hook ups would NEVER be in his house, his bed, because that place belongs to you only)
i think this and some other things like being traumatized for life with the scene would be my main idea about an eddie who lost his s/o, idk if i got too long or something if yes i'm so sorry lol but thank u for asking!!

chain of thorns predictions time!
- Alastair and Charles will get back together/got back together … or Thomas thinks they are bc of something he sees/overhears
- Cordelia and Matthew will kiss in Paris
- James and Cordelia finally communicate and she finds out the truth about Grace
- Grace and Christopher kiss
- Cordelia and James put the second marriage rune on each other
- Someone gets really badly hurt and almost dies, causing a really angsty scene that will break our hearts
- cute Christmas scenes ?? please
- James spills his secrets about Grace and Cordelia to his dad and/or Magnus and they give advice ?
- Jesse and Lucie deal with severe consequences for her actions
- Someone gets their marks stripped
DEATH PREDICTIONS:
- Matthew … everyone and their mom thinks he will die so I don’t think Cassie will actually kill him? But it’s worth mentioning bc it would definitely break our hearts to watch James and his parents react … Jem and Tessa’s reaction to the TDA gang finding his flask gives me doubt though
- Alastair…I can see him sacrificing himself for Thomas or Cordelia, maybe even Matthew? Like, that would be the ultimate apology/redemption
- Lucie …. i don’t think she will but I’m putting her here because there’s always a chance…plus it would be a shock
- Grace … she’s done bad stuff and needs to make up for it
People I think are safe:
- Cordelia … she’s too much of a baddie to kill…I am concerned for her w the whole Lilith thing
- Christopher
- Sona … Cordelia and Alastair already lost their dad
- Jesse, he’s already died so??
- James … idk he’ll probably come close to dying or almost die? but he’ll end up alive

Crystalised ep26 spoilers
Confession: I’m gonna be real I thought Compatible was gonna be so much more tragic than it was. I had a stupidly sad prediction but hear me out.
I thought that when Zane didn’t wake up, it would be because his power source was damaged. And Pixal would realise this, and just like when Pixal was dying in s3, she would do what Zane had done for her and give him back his heart, sacrificing herself in the process.
I’m happy they’re both fine but like imagine.
Critically thinking, if I were to re do that ep, I’d probably do something like that, but somehow make it work out in the end because as gut wrenching as that would be, I don’t wanna kill Pixal bc it kinda glorifies self sacrifice which is cringe and whilst the show uses self sacrifice a lot, it always presents it some sort of negative consequence with each character regretting it and coming back because self sacrifice isn’t actually a good thing.
Idk maybe Pixal takes Zane’s broken heart, and whilst it doesn’t generate any power on its own, she’s able to hide it because she’s on temporary energy reserves (and she could die any moment but she doesn’t tell Zane and the audience is really stressed for the next few episodes). However when it’s about to run out, Zane realises and just like how he was able to rebuild himself, his heart in Pixal’s body fixes itself too. Bc yeah. I don’t have a better excuse for it lol
Anyways for pixane angst hardmode y’all should listen to Jubyphonic’s cover of Error bc it’s literally them.

Ugh. my horrible sibling bribed me with Frivolous Snack Purchases to post this godawful string of discord messages i wrote regarding whether or not the Boyfriends from webtoons Boyfriends would survive the House on ash tree lane, going off half-forgotten memories of when i read boyfriends as a joke in 2022. SIGH.
"Ok. Fine. For starters. They all move into this house together and when stuff starts getting weird (likely as a result of the shaky foundation their relationship is built upon plus the weirdness with prep and goth) they all decide to investigate it together after some hesitation
Things seem to go mostly okay at first however they all get separated at some point- goth and prep find each other again and soon jock as well but they cant find nerd. Unfortunately continued search efforts have no avail at the moment, so they decide to call upon the Girlfriends (canonically more competent than them) to help out. Girl goth also had like an occult club or something iirc so thats probably the first one they called and she brought the rest of her polycule
However their assessment pretty much ends up being "you guys gotta gtfo" but they refuse to leave without nerd so they continue searching
I honestly dont know much about the girlfriends since they were a later introduction so i cant effectively wrap up their part here but i imagine the tensions between the two preps definitely does not help the condition of the house
Meanwhile nerd is still alive but barely and going insane. Through no fault of his own his sheer dependency on the other boyfriends is leading him into an untimely demise, a labriynth with no escape as he feels there Cant be an escape without the rest of his polycule
Also side note but about the earlier exploration before nerd went missing. Goth was one of the most eager to explore this first because dark and spooky shit but they Nearly got separated the first time, leaving him hesitant the second exploration. However the others still wanted to go back in out of curiosity, nerd in particular. Prep encouraged goth by pointing out that goth is the spooky things guy and its the opposite of going out in the sun. they all vow to protect each other but its a hollow promise against a threat they havent truly come face to face with. And they have already failed through this push to go back in.
Anyway so they go back in , girl nerd maybe stays behind with jock to keep track of things with the radio. The added hope of having the girlfriends along leads them to nerd, but hes clearly already in his death throes. However he attempts to kill goth and prep so they wont be apart. He fails, (might accidentally take out a few of the gfs, idk,) and when he realizes jock isnt even there he gives up, dying tragically, surrounded but alone. he never even finds out jock was keeping tabs on the radio
Goth and prep are stuck figuring out how to get back now, especially what to do about the dead bodies. Unfortunately on their own bringing back the bodies proves to be a very difficult task (girl jock was one of the ones who died and goth and prep are canon wimps strengthwise) and supplies are running low. But they refuse to leave the others behind
Love got them into this mess and theyre going to get out with love in tact, they think.
They just barely manage to reach the escape, however, just as they are, doubt sets in. The corpses they carry and the reality that things will never return to the way they are again stretches the corridor, pulling the door farther, and farther away. Can they truly say they escaped with their love? Like this?
Suddenly, behind them the hall feels like its collapsing, from above, below, all around. Prep panics, theyre both so out of their depth, and now theyre doomed to sink with the ship. However, goth thinks just quickly enough. Almost. He stages his last stand, shoving Prep through the door- sacrificing himself in the process. The bodies also do not make it.
The weight of this grief also collapses the house itself, foundation and walls not sturdy enough to support it. The survivors all escape unharmed, but can they say they really escaped in one piece?
It is unknown where the remaining GFs relationship ends up after this. However, Jock and Prep end up breaking up on despairing but amicable terms, believing nothing can be done to bridge the gap in their hearts. The last shot is of prep, more alone than he ever was, but just as alone as he thought he was before the polycule began.
Fuck you man"
I am not caught up with current Boyfriends lore and i do not plan to be so if i got anything wrong or inaccurate i am not sorry and in fact you should probably be the one whos sorry.

Sasunaru fanfics are the mf worst because literally the best one I read are the ones where either one of them or the both of them die
The absolute worst was one where naruto sacrificed himself to save sasuke and then sasuke went insane and forced kabuto to resurrect naruto (and the fic ended like that)
Then ANOTHER one ended with naruto dying for Sasuke because (if I remember correctly) orochimaru wanted to posses sasuke and naruto let orochimaru posses him instead so that sasuke could finally kill itachi, only by doing so naruto knew he would die (and he fucking did)
Another one that absolutely KILLED me was one where sasukes punishment for betraying konoha was erasing his memories, only by that time him and naruto were already in love so erasing those memories would mean erasing the memories of their love as well and the story is about Sasuke slowly forgetting naruto little by little and by the end he barely knows who he is and the fic ends with them going together in a mission (naruto keeps him at super distance because he’s in too much pain) and the fic ends with them being ambushed and Sasuke puts himself before naruto to protect him and he says “my body just moved on his own”
They didn’t die in this one but I probably cried more than with the ones where they did
Idk I get they’re the modern day Romeo and Juliet (just when it comes to the level of tragedy because obviously the love and the bond between sns is much deeper than those other two Italian idiots) but you would think fic writers would actually idk , write something more cheerful ? (Jk I appreciate them a lot thank you fic writers )
See, even when it'snot tagged, I can tell when shit is gonna ned with character death and I dodge that shit better than Kishimoto dodged the "good writing with commentary on imperialism" allegations that were built up with the land of waves arc
I don't do that. That said I'm mostly reading about Kakashi and Iruka because they have less baggage, more adult-cntric writing (most Sasunaru is like "let's focus on shippuuden" and let's not do that!), and then just has like lil snippets about Sasuke and Naruto.
If I trusted the fandom to hve more good content abtou Sasuke/Naruto, I would be reading it (though I WILL be reading the rcs y'all sent me. I just need to focus on finishing... actual books) but I don't.
Cause yeah, people do either lean into the angst thing toooo much for me OR they're just like "let's do crack fic" and crack fic has never been funny to me. If I wanted to watch Sasuke nad Naruto do absolutely stupid shit I would just watch filler.
I need to balance of "Yeah, they're traumatized and sad" with "But things can get better for them." I haven't put up with caring about naruto the series for 15+ years for anything other than a more sweet than bitter ending.
Like... I DO want both of htem dead. very much. In canon. Kishimoto please just ol yeller those sad lil fucks. Take them out back, pLEASE.
But if I'm gonna debase myself and read fanfiction... it's not for that.
But Narutos fandom sucks. In so many ways. I've never seen a group of people so bent on finding evrey single bad way to enjoy already bad content. But maybe it's just because I've had 15+ years to see it all whereas most fandoms get distracted by like... year 5.

Re: Jiang Cheng transmigration side tangent thingie - a "Gift of the Magi" unholy mess when JC sacrifices himself for WWX and WWX is all "no oooo" and time travels/whatever to save JC and they just ping pong back and forth refusing to accept the others sacrifice until Yanli has to step in "if you two don't stop this right now, I'mma sacrifice both of you WITH MY CLEAVER" (shed never ever say that but I thought it was funny) Yanli uses her jie-jie powers to sort it out or something?
it took me a second to remember the "gift of the magi" story (wife sells her hair to get a pocket watch chain, husband sells pocket watch for a comb. yikes) and oh nooo it fits them too perfectly. tf when you render someone elses sacrifice near useless by sacrificing yourself <- canon mdzs
honestly i was just talking abt the jiang cheng sacrifice after the yunmeng massacre when jiang cheng runs out into the street so wwx doesnt get caught 😔 and then jc loses his golden core, and then wei wuxian gives his to jiang cheng and then -- the cycle of being utter annoyances fr. but if it goes like scum villain where sqq gets into an unimaginable amount of danger and dying several times. oh my god.... and wei wuxian returning that in kind?
yanli-jiejie really would want to take out her meat cleaver to threaten the boys . i could see her imagining herself doing that hahahah. but talking it out would probably be the most in character thing to do and hopefully lead to a happier ending lmao. even if it never happened onscreen (rip yanli) maybe in this au, chengxian wont be driven to tragedy haha (in tears)
theres a couple ideas i like with transmigration, but i love jiang cheng and i hate to kill his character. so. only option id consider is the transmigrator actually being an au version/modern version of jiang cheng. hes a little more adjusted than canon jc, but his parents are still Like That, and yanli is still yanli (♡) so hes not really that different ? idk. do you have any thoughts abt jc transmigration :3c

char ask meme for whichever oc you think ill like most. all numbers minus any you dont feel like answering
fukc yeah thanks nico. idk which oc you'd like though... personally i like nyx bc theyre silly but saturn and ben are emo. you like illumi so maybe jol or kanz.... ill just answer with whoever lol
Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?
i'll go with joel & kanz for this one bc they have a very big 'family' (its a cult, they are part of a cult). kanzy has a biological sister who's about 3-4 years younger than them?? but i believe the closest ages are lizzy and jolzy, they're like 22-25 i dont remember What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?
an time i hear the word 'mother' + 'oc' i think of stella. her relationship with her mother is literally so bad lmao What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
i'll go with saturn for this! his father choked him to death lol In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?
i can't decide of a character for this one but half of them are dead so like. probably when they were dying Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success?
ben: success
stella: she used to prioritize success but she kinda figured that was never gonna happen so now its happiness
nyx: happiness
kanz: happiness
jol: success
saturn: justice Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others?
ben: wisdom
lyra: ambition
kanz: probabl wisdom What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
oh hell yeah
ben: he's ridiculously self-sacrifical. he's always looking for validation and will give up his own comfort and sanity to appear 'perfect'. so he seems obnoxious & he also will shoulder every single bit of despair by himself
nyx: they just do whatever the fuck they want. like they disappeared for 3 years, didn't leave a note or anything, just said Fuck This Shit Im Out. they let their whole kingdom believe they were dead bc why would they deal with that shit when there are literally dragons. also they're irresponsible as hell
jol: he's a clown. also he's in a cult In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
ben tries to make sure he's better than everyone so it's both If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?
i know i have at least one cahracter who is guilty as hell but i cant remember who What does your character like in other people?
stella like girls What does your character dislike in other people?
nyx hates people who are uptight/rule based, anyone who will yell at them for being an impulsive shithead How quick is your character to trust someone else?
jol can't trust anyone outside of his gotdamn cult. kanz got out of the cult and decided to room with the first 3 people they found, so i guess they're pretty trusting... lyra i feel is pretty trusting as well. she doesn't have many friends, but the ones she does have are cool.
How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person?
im treating this as a 'there's a murder mystery, who figures out the killer first' question. nyx is probably the victim. lyra is coping with nyx's murder by writing a real life fanfic in the basement. stella's distraught as hell but she's leading the investigation & trying to make sure no one else gets hurt. ben is in his room crying. he is not involved in the murders because he is locked in his room lol. kanz suspects jol from the moment they find the body. the murderer is jol. he runs away to new york and saturn hunts him for sport How does your character behave around children?
joel would be popular with children ebcause he's a clown How does your character normally deal with confrontation?
joel likes to kill people How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation?
joel likes to kill people What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?
stella wanted to be straight. she is not What does your character find repulsive or disgusting?
their own families probably In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve?
ben: he fucking dies
stella: she doestn give a shit anymore
joel: he does not get criticism he is moms baby boy. but he likes being berated bc he aspires to be a piece of shit
kanz: 'oh my god you're so right' How does your character behave around people they dislike?
at the beginning stella just plays along with them but she learns how to properly reject middle aged men :) Is your character more likely to remove a problem/threat, or remove themselves from a problem/threat?
they are the problem How does your character treat people in service jobs?
all of them are nice except for jol who is just annoying Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first?
ben does not have 'wants' he has a kingdom to rule. stella is beginning to realize she is deserving of cool shit. nyx thinks they are deserving of cool shit bc the shits cool. jol has no cool shit. kanz needs to earn their place. lyra doesnt think about that stuff. How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it?
depends. jol can say 'i love you' to anyone because he was raised in Manipulation Central and they manipulate people. stella cannot say 'i love you' to your face but she will admit it while crying in nyx's arms. nyx doesn't say 'i love you' they let you cry about some hot girl in their arms. kanz can say i love you easily. ben does not say 'i love you' ever, except maybe to stella once. oh ben and stella are siblings btw What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?
stella: i am going 2 hell
nnyx: if i die i die like who cares lmfao
lyra: death is terrifying to me. it doesn't matter where i go because the idea of being trapped somewhere for eternity is hell either way. i wont be able to control it. i'll leave my loved ones behind. i'll just waste away in a cage. if nothing happens after i die and i just cease to exist i'll be grateful
jol: if i die i die like who cares lmfao

Oh oh also (I’m definitely going to forget about this if I don’t ask now) I still want to know your opinions on who of the knights, Gwen, Morgana and Merlin would survive if they were in a horror movie lol
omg!!!! right!!!! I almost forgot about this omg
Honestly? I think they're all doing pretty good. But they all have an advantage because there's none of them that can't fight, except for like Merlin but he has magic. So they would probably not die if the killer got to them, or at least they'd put up a very good fight. But ignoring that, I think I can make something of this.
Elyan is easy, because he'd do fine until any drowning person and/or child is shown. Then he loses control of everything. And unless his friends manage to rescue him, he may just be dead. I could see him being the first one dying tbh, like, if this just so happens to be the first thing they encounter.
Percival would survive solely because of his strength and will. Genuinely I think the only way he would maybe be killed is if there was someone in need (or something pretending they're in need and setting a trap and then stabbing him in the back). Because like, unless you know him the way the other knights do, you could not win against him in a fight. Never.
Merlin could easily be killed if someone got him distracted enough that he can't use his magic as his first reflex. But like you'd also have to get him alone because, uh, these people are certainly not stupid enough to split up and Merlin is like their nr. 1 priority
Leon is immortal. He can't die. Like he won't even run he'll just walk and when the killer gets to him he turns around like. Try. You're not the first one.
Gwen is so skilled with a sword and she's so smart and I think, much like Percival, you'd really have to get her trapped and then you'd also have to surprise her.
Arthur is so easy to kill, dear god. All you have to do is show him some illusion. He will sacrifice himself in like negative two seconds. Like it doesn't even have to be real, as is said, just. show him an illusion. No need to trap him or fight. Show him how you corner Merlin and he'll throw away his sword and scream "I'm right here" and then let you chase after him if that's what you want to do. But like, genuinely, it's scary how easily he's manipulated into just fucking sacrificing himself. Literally your only job is to snatch him away from the group (because there's multiple others that would not put up with his bullshit and save him)
Morgana would fucking scare the killers away. She's just walking around deadpan, like Leon is, her sword in hand that's dripping with fake blood and calling for them to come get her. Like we saw in season one?? I think??? how clever she and Gwen were getting away from those guys that kidnapped them, and it's just common sense to assume that she's using that same cunningness to like, come up with a plan and kill the killers. also you cannot scare her lol
and I genuinely do not know about the other two. even though I should? like we've talked about them more than about anyone else lol- but idk. I'll give it a try
so I could imagine Lancelot being fine? because he's the best fighter of them all, and like, if anyone were to get close to him he'd just. be like. you thought. so to kill him you'd definitely have to get him into some kind of trap. unexpectedly attacking him doesn't work either because his reflexes are incredible. my guess would be you'd have to take his orientation to a point where he can't tell his left from his right anymore. like, illusions and shit like that doesn't work with him, unlike Percival and Arthur he would definitely be able to realise it's a trap.
and Gwaineeeeeee ugh idk. this may just become an essay lol so beware- So he's a very, very skilled fighter, and what wouldn't work would be taking his orientation because. this guy has reflexes. and he'll fight with a broom if that's all he can grab. he will fight you even if he's blind and he certainly won't miss. And I can very well see him as one of the people who wouldn't trust shit and that's why he wouldn't be as easily manipulated as Arthur and Percival. Like while Lancelot figures it out and tries to really understand the illusions for what they are, Gwaine just calls bullshit from a mile away. The only way I could really imagine he would be killed would be if he just got like, separated, and then too hotheaded. like you need to give him these tons of options and make him go crazy. being impulsive is like both his advantage and his disadvantage, and like, I think to actually get him killed you need to make it his disadvantage. you know? idk I don't want to say he can't get killed because, I just know that he could? but like I can't tell you how. like. he survived so much in the series already that I think he would survive this too? because that's just like the kind of thing that someone like him would manage? but like yeah, you could possibly kill him ifffff you turn his strengths against him. in a fight for example he can use his hotheadedness and his reflexes and his pace and his stamina so you shouldnt get him in a fight (like you should not get any of the others in a fight) and backstabbing doesn't work and traps don't work so literally the only thing left is to like, have him kill himself? in a way? like put him in a hallway with many, many, many doors, and I think he's done for. because he would just. open all doors trying to get out and relying on his impulsiveness to do so? so while Arthur and Morgana and multiple others would be fine, Gwaine would die, like if you do the simplest shit, like just putting a cliff right behind the door? and he opens it and just. falls. because he doesn't stay in front of the fucking doorway but just runs straight into the room. which probably isn't even the worst idea for some of them, but like, that's why he would die. just because of something so absolutely ridiculous.

i can't be the only one who wants izuku to get fucking pissed at his situation, at all might, start questioning what the fuck is going on with OFA.
because if you're going to trust a fifteen year old with something like OFA and bind them to the life of a symbol, you do not get to withhold information. deku was not told he'd be dealing with an enemy like AFO when he got the quirk, nor was he told that basically its whole point was not fighting some vague concept of evil, but fighting a very tangible very dangerous villain. he wasn't told that up until all might, inheriting this power was guaranteed suicide, and even after all might you only have a vague chance of survival. to be offered such a life altering "gift", Izuku should have been warned of everything. from the start. and if not then then from the very moment izuku started seeing vestiges, or at least when AFO resurfaced. WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD YOU HIDE ANY, ANY BIT OF INFORMATION ON A QUIRK THAT IMPORTANT?????
no because, if you look at it cynically, All Might took this kid who had nothing and who looked up to him as effective god. He took this kid who he knew had no sense of no self-care or self-preservation. This extremely reckless kid who he saw putting his life at risk three times (sludge v1, hanging on to AM as he jumped, sludge v Katsuki) within 24 hours. He picked this kid who he knew would give everything (because Izuku had "nothing", and therefore nothing to lose) and "gifted" him with a ticking time bomb. Of course Izuku is willing to break himself if it means using OFA to max potential. So much of his self-worth is based on OFA. He's said time and time again he isn't sure if he deserves it, that it's a borrowed power. If you've taken this kid and given him everything practically overnight, of course he'll go to self-destructive lengths to prove himself worthy of it. Who'd want to go back to being nothing after all?
And this is a logical conclusion. Someone like Izuku, someone like All Might probably used to be in his youth and still kind of is, they're perfect to be put on this kind suicide mission. They're a perfect vessel. Sure they're heroic and brave and selfless, but most importantly they're willing to die for the cause. OFA the quirk knows this. Literally two seconds after Katsuki sacrifices himself telling Deku not to do shit alone, Deku renders said sacrifice useless by doing exactly what Katsuki warned him not to😭 And the quirk and vestiges encourage him. They don't give a shit about repercussions and Deku's chronic pain or possible arm paralysis. They just want to beat AFO. You go son you break those arms 🤠
Doesn't it all feel a little bit exploitative?
Look at it like this. A kid is born with no power. This kid wants to be great, but the world says he can't. He meets his hero, and the hero says he can't either. Then the kid acts heroic, but reckless. The hero sees an opening. This kid is good and doesn't care one bit about his well-being? Jackpot! He offers the kid a deal. Great power, an extraordinary gift at surface layer. But one with so many more hidden strings attached that hurt and break and haunt the kid, that he was never warned about or taught how to deal with. But he can always give it to someone else! Can he, really? Can he go back to being nothing? With a personality like his, well nope. And that's why you pick the overly selfless reckless ones. The ones that will feel indebted to you to a ridiculous degree.
Isn't it like dare I say... like a deal with the devil?
As we progress more and more into the lore of AFO and OFA, I can really see why Katsuki's started to view it as a cursed power. And with how wildly different from expectations (at least mine) + far more nuanced the Todofam drama has revealed itself to be compared to what it seemed upon first intro, I'm inclined to believe there's more to the OFA story than clean cut, young bro good guy vs mean big bro oppression.
TL;DR - All Might is the metaphorical devil jr who gave Izuku a passed down deal, and neither he nor broccoli boy read the fine print.
Bakugo’s ghost sent me this ask 💀
Lol but seriously, these are all excellent points and I’ve been sitting on this ask until I had time to answer it because you’re absolutely goddamn right
This shit is explotive af, and I’ve got a suspicion as to why
I don’t think Deku was a random choice, there’s a layer of fate/mystic woven into the bnha world that gets over looked.
Sir had insane fortune telling abilities that were never once wrong about anything except when it came to the 2 OFA users fates. Deku even specifically says he’ll smash any fate in his way, and I think on some level he knows he can because he has a different destiny.
The vestiges break him from Shinsos hold, meaning the can have some level of control over Dekus body. You think AM noticed every time something like that happened? AM didn’t even notice Bakugo internalizing all the blame for his retirement even after watching his mom force him to apologize for it??
“I keep forgetting that your still a child” AM, sir, this is the third time you’ve admitted out loud that you were just gonna let Bakugo suffer his own fate 💀 please stop indicting yourself and at least pretend you care about Bakugo outside his relationship to Deku jfc
Also what are the chances you get nine random holders and none of them turn out to be corrupt or at least too self serving to die for the cause??? Slimmer than the pages bnha is printed on.
There’s something pulling some strings here, and I think it’s the true power of First users quirk.
What would be the point of transferring a quirk if that’s it’s only power?
What would be the point of this quirk being essentially password locked?
What would be the point of this quirk being able to forced on to someone?
There’ wouldn’t be any.
But what if that’s not what the quirk is?
What if the quirk is actually passing something along, and that’s why it’s dna based, it’s the transfer of an integral part of them.
Something that would change a person if forced on them but would possibly eradicate someone if stolen. Something like a souls desire? That could be a dangerous thing to give to someone else especially if it’s something they didn’t want, now they suddenly have to?
Then you give this quirk a strength enhancing quirk?
Now it’s got some juice, how much stronger did it get? Can it sense others with a similar goal, can it make its host gravitate towards those people?
Is the firsts quirk purposely finding exploitable heros, like Nana AM and Deku. All people who were/are willing to give up everything for the cause. How much of the first is in there, how much sentient power does this quirk have?
We know that Nana gave up her family, her child, for the cause. AM never bothered cultivating a family and pushed away Sir and anyone else who is anti him dying, and now we’re seeing Deku do the same.
Deku who had no friends to begin with, a dad who’s out of the picture, and an already slightly strained relationship with his mom?
Is this quirk capable of learning? Does it know that having people you care about slows you down from sacrificing yourself?
Does this quirk compound with the other users goals make the drive stronger each time?
Idk but there’s a glimmer of hope that Deku isn’t doomed to be a glorified meat puppet, and it exists in the form of Kacchan.
No one else had someone so deeply rooted to them, who could fight right along side them. Bakugo is an outlier in this story, almost the exact opposite kind of hero OFA wants, his connection to Deku breaks the cycle.
Deku would never give up on Katsuki, and even if he tried Endeavor will start coughing up ice cubes before Bakugo lets him. He couldn’t leave Deku alone when he was convinced he hated him, there’s no way he’d do it now.
Dekus story will be different from the other users that’s for sure.
