In ACOSF, the Valkyries are in the Blood Rite and while there Gwyn talks about how she's tired of being in the library....which only means she has a journey to go on herself...

She then goes on to say she doesn't want to take the safe road and instead wants to take a new road with the Valkryies. A road that will lead them to become something NEW. That something new and different would then lead to prove and triumph over everyone, but especially the Illyrians rules and restrictions.

Then, after she's done saying that... A cold wind blew off Ramiels sides. Whispering, murmuring.... almost prophetic wouldn't you say? Especially given she's a Priestess...

Could she be prophesying a road that will now be taken? A road which will lead a new beginning and bright future for them, and the Illyrians?

Could she be the catalyst alongside Azriel to bring change to the Illyrians with the Valkyries standing beside her?

I hope we get answers soon 🙏

Showing Gwyn Love

Wanna know why I love Gwyn?

Gwyn saved the children at Sangravah, even though it led to a horrific act being brought upon herself.

Gwyn was the first to sign up for training. Showing bravery and strength which led to other priestesses eventually joining in.

Gwyn was the one who introduced and brought back the Valkyrie training. She is even the one who was first to cut the ribbon to become the 1st Valkryie again in a long time.

Gwyn sat up in a tree for two days watching the beasts movements and ended up leading them to the camp which in turn saved Nesta and Emerie.

Gwyn was going to stay back, despite what the men could/would have done to her, so that Nesta and Emerie would reach the top.

Gwyn has shown up for her friends and others in times of need, even if it meant something bad happens to her.

She is the very definition of brave, strong, and loyal.

SJM CONFIRMS THREE MORE ACOTAR BOOKS

I’m so glad I didn’t cave under the gaslighting that tried to tell me that there are only two more ACOTAR books left and SJM/bloomsbury changed their minds and altered the contract without telling anyone.

*next part talks about somethings that were hinted in HOFAS so spoilers, kind of but like not at all too lol*

Plotwise, especially after reading HOFAS, I think these are the book orders:

1. Azriel and Gwyn with Mor and Emerie (continuation of the Valkyrie plotline and Illyrians)

2. Elain and Lucien (Koschei story)

3. Closing novella? Probably another novel honestly lol

I was re-reading ACOSF and got to a simple conclusion halfway through it:

There's no way in Hel my bad b**** Gwyneth Berdara isn't going to have a story line in the next book(s).

fight me.

Beyond all the questions SJM left unanswered about her, such as heritage and possible powers, she has simply one of the most interesting and unique backstories in the series.

While most of the characters had their pasts already completely explained (even though some still need development), Gwyn's backstory mostly focuses on her trauma. While it's certainly something important and had a huge impact on her, there's still 26 years of story besides that.

Like, it's so so interesting. She is a priestess that grew up in one only-female environment with a half high-fae, half water- nymph mother that was too wild as a child. She had a twin sister, and it's a Great Rite child. It raises so many questions

Was her mother a good mother? Or she was too carefree given her heritage and didn't know how to take care of 2 kids?

How was her relationship with Catrin? Were they best friends or did they have troubles and fights between them?

How was her relationship with the other priestesses? Did she lose only Catrin or perhaps a best friend, a maternal figure in the attack?

Is she interested in discovering her heritage? Did the attack affect her faith somehow? How does she, as a born fae female, view mating bonds and other fae traditions? Does her nymph heritage affect her in other aspects of her life? Does she feel some sort of pull or belonging towards rivers and oceans? Who was she in Sangravah? How much of herself changed during her stay at the library? How does she view sexuality, considering her religious background? How did her mother die? Who taught her how to sing? Does she maybe feel she has some sort of power? How chaotic could her mind be?

Too many questions about a too interesting character.

PS: And can someone please tell me why tf is she considered childish?

I sorta feel bad for Feyre. She doesn’t have friends that are “hers”. Her friend group is the inner circle and they are friends with Rhys. So their loyalty will always be to him first. I mean, I can’t fault them for that considering they knew Feyre for literally 1-2 years and they knew Rhys 500+.

They see Feyre has Rhys’s mate or their High lady. I feel they don’t really see her as her. And it showed in ACOSF where they all agreed not to tell Feyre because Rhys says so. I think they have basic respect for her of course, but in the end their relationship to her ties to Rhys.

(As well as their interactions with others.) Considering they all hated Nesta because Rhys hates Nesta but liked Elain because Rhys liked Elain (still salty about the fact he said Nesta is illyrian and Elain is Elain).

Feyre did have a friendship with Lucien, but Rhys cut that off and when Lucien came to the Night Court, they literally ran him out (isn’t that inherently abusive??? right am I crazy).

SJM should have allowed Feyre to branch out of the inner circle to make friends. Now it’s going to be impossible for her cause the people of the Night Court will see her as high lady. Not to mention, it is extremely unhealthy to only have a friend group because of a significant other.

Nesta however, has a healthy friendship with the Valkyries. The friend group Nesta haters love to shit on. This is a healthy friend group (more so than the inner circle for a variety of reasons, probably make a separate post later).

This woman is freaking amazing and badass.

She saved the children at Sangravah even though it led to horrific trauma for her. Trauma she is still learning to heal from.

She spent two years in the library slowly healing and braved the outside world to become the first Valkyrie to be rebirthed. Her putting her name first on the training sign up sheet showed incredible bravery and strength that led to other priestesses joining the training. What a moment!

She braved the outside world to be by Nesta side in a moment Nesta needed her friends the most.

She displayed skills of spying when she was in the tree for two days watching the beasts and learning their movements and led them to the men's camp.

She told Nesta and Emerie to cut the bridge down to save them knowing what it would mean for her once the men got to her.

She participated in the Great Rite & won to become one of the first Carythian women in history 🏆

Her story is far from over. In fact, it's just beginning and I can not wait to see more of her and what all else she will and can do.

I want to talk about one of my absolute favourite characters

Gwyneth berdara

And the way people treats her character as a mean to bring happiness to Azriel's life...

To all the people out there writing gwynriel smut scenes with no actual healing for Gwyn

Gwyn was raped and her trauma is valid!

She has PTSD, she has a hard time getting out of the library (and kindly, screw you if you think she is weak for that); she is not going to get super horny after reading some smut and jump on azriel's dick and ride the hell out of him!

She is not going to have oh so spicy thoughts about azriel's dick and sex for a long while bcz healing takes time! (No, i don't mean SA survivors can't have sex or sexual thoughts or jerk off or idk! I'm saying she's not there yet)

She is a brave person, she has a lot of energy, she is willing to get better, she has just opened up to the prospect of socializing and talking to males (the said males are cassian and azriel! That's all)

She is at the beginning of a long road, so she is not going to be like:

_ oh I'm tired of being traumatized! So let's fuck azriel!

_ i want to experience sex so who cares about whole PTSD nonsense! Let's fuck azriel!

_ oh that male probably has the biggest dick ever, let's fuck him😳

Pay attention that this post is NOT anti gwynriel!

I do actually ship Gwyn and Azriel!

But they both need sexless healing (like starting with a platonic sort of relationship)!

They both has the feeling of being unlovable, undeserving and being left out!

They both need to work on these things! There is going to be a book for them and it's going to be the slowest of the slow burns! Bcz guess what! SA survivors do not heal as quickly as some people would like!

Gwyn has PTSD, and PTSD is not something you can turn on and off on you own free will! It's not only a mental condition! It gets physical, it gets out of your own control! Sometimes it's like you are out of your own body, looking at it panicking and hyperventilating while there is nothing you can do about it! Bcz more often than not it's like someone else is controling your body! Someone else thinking for you...when it comes to PTSD, your body does not always belongs to you! Sometimes it belongs to your trauma!

At the other Hand, Azriel is a loner...he hasn't learnt to share his feeling, to not let his darkness consume him... He doesn't know how to be vulnerable with people! He doesn't know how to separate his work life and his personal life! His life is his work, his personality is his status and it's not healthy! Yes he might be sexy and has big dick energy but right now he doesn't make good lifelong partner!

So please!

Stop objectifying characters with PTSD and mental health issues as some sort of horny sex deprived teenage_ish sex doll to bring other characters with possible PTSD and certain mental health issues, joy and happiness!

It's not funny

And it's triggering 👌🏻 (yes it is! It triggers me!)

Honestly, I'm kind of wondering if the reason SJM is stalling ACOTAR for CC is because she has no idea what to do with Elain.

We still have a few years before Elain's book, but hasn't it been a few years since SJM announced that Elain would eventually be an MC? And she's given Elain hardly any character development, except for the negative development we saw in ACOFAS and ACOSF.

I just assume if she's known for years that she wants Elain to be an MC that she would give her some development in preparation for that. As of now, a good portion of this fandom is either bored with Elain, and thus have no intentions of reading her book or they dislike her because of her behavior in ACOFAS and ACOSF, and thus have no intentions of reading her book.

Even the people who stan her only ever talk about her in the context of the ship war. Her only relevance is in regards to whose cock she'll be riding. That's not good set up at all for a character SJM has had seven years to build up.

Gwyn, Emerie, and the House of Wind got more character development in one book than Elain has received in five.

I know people think she planned this crossover, but her storyline is just too all-over-the-place and inconsistent and I honestly don't think she knows what she's going to do anymore. Especially with Elain.
