In ACOSF, the Valkyries are in the Blood Rite and while there Gwyn talks about how she's tired of being in the library....which only means she has a journey to go on herself...

She then goes on to say she doesn't want to take the safe road and instead wants to take a new road with the Valkryies. A road that will lead them to become something NEW. That something new and different would then lead to prove and triumph over everyone, but especially the Illyrians rules and restrictions.

Then, after she's done saying that... A cold wind blew off Ramiels sides. Whispering, murmuring.... almost prophetic wouldn't you say? Especially given she's a Priestess...

Could she be prophesying a road that will now be taken? A road which will lead a new beginning and bright future for them, and the Illyrians?

Could she be the catalyst alongside Azriel to bring change to the Illyrians with the Valkyries standing beside her?

I hope we get answers soon 🙏

something that irritates me to no end is when people try to place Elain in spring court. Whichever ship, Elain needs to be in one of the solar courts because they have seasons, Elain would be miserable in eternal spring because she wouldn’t be able to garden. I think it would unnerve her that there was no lifecycle to the plants, no death and rebirth.

Just because she smells like spring doesn’t mean she would be happy there.

Exactly HOW are we so easily brushing off the change in Elain after Azriel recognizes what she is?!?

After he basically releases her from the burden she bares from her misunderstood visions, after he proves that he SEES, he OBSERVES, he is PAYING ATTENTION TO HER:

“We are the ones who need… A Seer…the Cauldron has made YOU a seer” (can we please recognize how beautiful it is that he addresses her specifically?)

She befriends Nuala and Cherridwen,

She regains her appetite,

She gets out of her room,

She engages with other people,

She is again interested in life (wanting to learn how to cook),

Her eyes are alive (“there was a slight sparkles in her brown eyes as if she’d been enjoying herself with them”)

How can we just not recognize what he did for her? How he understood her needs? How he was the ONLY one who listened? Do we really think that happened because he was just being kind?

Nesta ending up pregnant in the next ACOTAR book would be my 13th reason. especially after the absolute shitshow that was Feyre’s pregnancy plotline? No thanks, Sarah girlie, no thanks.

An idea I've been playing with is if the Elucien book is next, I wonder if SJM will have it set up where it happens before the events of HOFAS/during HOFAS like ToD and EoS. Because that may explain both of their absences in the time Bryce spent in the NC. They could be in Spring, or Day, or even Autumn for the Beron plotline.

I think at one point SJM may have said the next ACOTAR starts a few months after SF, but that might still fall between SF and HOFAS since there's six months between. I feel like that could set sooo many things in motion and explain a lot that we saw in HOFAS.

i.e., Nesta's reaction to Azriel saying Elain was waiting, and the way the Mask flared. (Perhaps tensions between them due to Elain’s conflict avoidance? She did refer to Elain as a wretch for sitting as far away as possible from Lucien during Solstice in SF. Or Elain's departure from the Night Court might've been on partially sour terms?) Azriel being noticeably closer and openly kinder/affectionate towards Nesta. (With both objects of Azriel’s unhealthy, unavailable pining gone, [assuming Mor returns to Vallahan and Elain has left the NC, with or without Lucien] perhaps we see more of who he is when he's not in his worst, 'why don't I deserve love?' mindset. The constant reminders via their presence could be removed, potentially.

Why "Azriel only lusts for Elain" is such a BAD take

The discourse about Azriel only feeling lust for Elain, only wants to have sex with her, is extremely bothersome, and not because of anything ship-related.

Why do so many women love Romantasy? Not only because it's fun and entertaining and exciting. But because it's entertainment written (largely) by women for women, and an escape from the burdens and horrors that women face in every day life.

In Romantasy, men are chivalrous and kind and loving while also being masculine and strong and sexy. We get the best of both worlds. We get strong, dominant men without the fear/risk of getting hurt, which is ever present in real life.

We get to ESCAPE the fuck boys. The degradation women face. The objectification of our bodies. Using us for sex. Not caring about us and our feelings and our lives. Not seeing us as people.

So to say that Azriel, a soon-to-be Male Main Character romantic lead, would be characterized in this way - that he would be lusting after Elain solely for her body, solely to slake his lust, satisfy his base need for sex, without any regard/affection for her is beyond freaking bizarre. That he's willing to potentially put Elain in a very tough situation (politically, with her mate) just because he wants to get off??

It's gross. It's a huge disservice to the author, to the characters, and to the fanbase. You truly think that SJM would write her romantic hero in this way? That he's no better than some disgusting frat boy, lying to and manipulating Elain to get into her pants? After which, he'll what, dump her??

Because to believe that Azriel only wants sex from Elain, is to say that everything that came before the bonus chapter, was only to further him in this goal. Staying up all night talking, sitting with her in the garden, speaking to her gently, helping her set the table, was just to get past her defenses and fuck her. You are saying that he bought her a thoughtful gift, just to make her more likely to sleep with him. It's disgusting.

Whether you believe/want Elain and Azriel to be endgame is one thing. But I'm so sick of hearing that Azriel only wants to fuck her and then in the same breath saying he'll then go on and have a lovely romance with (Gwyn, Bryce, whoever). As if any of those women would look twice at a man capable of acting the way they're accusing Azriel of being.

In Romantasy, women get to read about and experience hot, passionate, lusty sex without the degradation. Without the objectification. Without the lack of humanity and lack of care for the woman's feelings. Without the fear that once they're "used" or they've "been had" that they'll be cast to the wayside.

Anyways, let's leave this reasoning behind please. It's not the "gotcha" you think it is.

Yeah, because ELAIN feeling relieved when lulu is leaving (act) and ELAIN SAYING YES to Azriel's kiss (words) is clearly a way for her to show interest in your poor innocent 500 year old baby.

GO READ THE BOOKS. You can interpret some things differently, but you cannot create things.
