yes, I do tend to believe the author is leaving symbolic clues in their work and expects us to look deeper into everything. Sometimes the curtains are just blue and sometimes they’re a black dress in the night that drains the color from a girl that is said to need sunlight. might be controversial to say but the outrage for Elain to get a sense of agency & choice is a bit ironic to me when literally no other character in the maasverse has a say-so in their endgame relationship because these books are about *spoiler alert*…fated…mates…😱

It truly makes me wonder if E/riels really read ACOSF when they say things like this:
Because if they truly read the book.... they'd know this happens after the bonus scene takes place:
And this:
Two scenes in which his shadows have a reaction when Gwyn is around or mentioned in ACOSF. One during training, one when Gwyn is in the Blood Rite. And there is no singing involved.
Oh, and in the bonus scene.. there is more than just that one mention of the shadows dancing with Gwyn breathe.
There is this before they even dance for her breathe:
And this happens when something restless settles in him during his scene with Gwyn:
And this is as Azriel is leaving his interaction with Gwyn:
Again, no *actual* singing involved. Azriel can hear & see things others cannot so when he's leaving he's not actually hearing Gwyn sing. He's hearing faint, beautiful singing that follows him that his shadows sing back to, which can only be concluded as foreshadowing of a mate bond between them since Nessian bond snaps into place that same night and is described as music between their souls. If Gwyn was the one singing, that would have been made clear.
I rest my case 😌

A day before the celebration, Nesta walks near the living room and the door slams shut quickly. She asks what’s going on, sensing something suspicious afoot, and the house diverts her attention with smutty books, a plate of fresh cookies & a warm lavender bath. The House of Wind wipes its brow, thinking it got away with it but right as Nesta begins to doze off in the bath, she declares into the open air, “I know you’re hiding something from me. my whole thing with that scene is that Gwyn obviously trusted Nesta enough and found some solace in her to venture outside after being in the library for years. That’s not a small feat for the priestesses and for him to still think Nesta has malicious intent drives me so mad. Him & Amren (despite being old as fuck) never gave Nesta grace during her healing journey, they couldn’t believe she was getting better and it makes me so ?????
Like she’s in her early twenties, severely traumatized & depressed…give her time!!
thinking about Rhys telling Nesta to be nice to Gwyn and like I kind of get it because Nesta actively chose to only show him her worst qualities so that's what he came to expect from her but also how much that hurt Nesta because she loves Gwyn as much as he loves his brothers and he acts like they're the only found family in Prythian but the Valkyries are about to give them a run for their money in the Rite and Nesta loves her friends so much she Made the bracelet charms into tracking devices in this essay i will
