More Miguel Headcanons

First meeting:

When you first enter the spider society he isn't very fond of you, think that in this part he is struggling with the pain of losing his daughter and the responsibility of taking care of the spider society

During this time, he is rude, reckless, trying to prove he is strong enough to take care of everything

When he comes back from a mission injured, he will brush it off, but you grabbed his hands, sat him down and began patching him up while giving him a speech of how much of and idiot he is...and...he falls...he falls for you...your eyes of disapproval only makes you more beautiful...and he is... speechless

Bonding time:

Now he isn't your friend, but you two are in good terms, he falls for you slowly...we love the slow burn here...

He will start to memorize small things you do, like how you do your make up, your hair, your favorite phrases, your favorite ice cream flavor, small little things...but he just thinks of you as a friend...yeah...

Friends/close friends:

He will be a bit touchy, some shoulder bumps around here, some massages around there, and he started doing things for you...

Want food? You can have a bit of his, want a nap? You can lay in his chest

He will go as far as to call you pet names and give you flirty smiles...he wasn't falling right? Looking at your best friend and wanting to kiss them was...normal right? Daydreaming about how good cuddling with them is something normal and platonic and winking and flirting is...oh god...he did had a crush on you!...

Confession:

It's has to be PERFECT, he wants you to feel... special, so he plans it really carefully, he starts by giving you small anonymous gifts, and when you ask him he simply loo at you smiling cocky "someone has a secret admirer..." He teases you...and when he confess...it's not as plan

He was injured, and he assured you again and again that he was alright, that was the last drop, you snapped, you shouted how much you worried about him, how you didn't want to lose him and how...how...how you loved him...you putted your hands over your mouth...and he...he got up and kissed you, deeply, his hands in your face and when he separated from the kiss he whispered sweet nothings while kissing your face

Early relationship:

Little than nothing PDA, maybe just handholding but just in private

No pet names for now, just really normal ones like a nickname of your name

He will hug you though and cuddle you, even if he doesn't really know how to go and ask for cuddles but he tries for you

Late relationship:

PDA when he is felling romantic, happy or jealous, but he isn't the 'i won't let you see your friends and family ' jealous he is the 'how you dare look at my partner in such a way' jealous

AZI’S ROLE IN CROWLEY’S FALL, more meta (guilt, angelic hierarchy, etc)

I saw a long meta post about Azi feeling responsible for Crowley falling (but Tumblr bugged and I can’t find it again) and I’m here to expand on that.

Yes - Azi feels guilty because he’s done so many worse, more indulgent things than Crowley ever did in Heaven. It’s likely that Crowley doesn’t even know exactly what he did - he hung out with the wrong people and asked questions, he says, but that sounds more speculative hindsight to me. He’s vague because he actually doesn’t know. I think it was simply his attitude; his refusal to mask his disappointments and opinions. While one question might have runneth his chalice over for the Metatron and God, he was always on his way to damnation.

Aziraphale knew this, since we know they knew of and cared for each other before Crowley’s Fall. The extent of their relationship is unknown, because Crowley seems to have some soap opera amnesia, just like Jim - to be fair, trauma can do this to you. Make you not remember your ‘childhood’.

The thing is, Aziraphale can get away with everything Crowley couldn’t because FIRST of all, Crowley was the archangel Raphael. He was up there with Gabriel and Michael. One sassy question from him and all of Heaven might crumble. Aziraphale, on the other hand, is just a principality, an angel tasked with suggesting humans - predominantly prophets - do good/God’s will (literally, look it up). The lowest order. In office terms, Crowley is the bosses’ favorite creative director, while Aziraphale is a street salesman trying to make you subscribe to some shitty phone plan. It doesn’t really matter if Aziraphale asks questions because nobody cares what he thinks anyways. He is only allowed miracles that help him sell phone plans, metaphorically. Raphael’s miracles create galaxies, literally.

SECOND of all, neither the Metatron nor God are omnipresent or omniscient. Not even in Heaven, but certainly not on Earth. We saw the spy photos of Azi and Crowley throughout time. They don’t have any clue about Earth and rely on the same type of intel the spies on the benches in London send their respective governments. Most, if not all of Aziraphale’s transgressions happen on Earth. Heaven doesn’t really know Aziraphale does anything worse than eating sushi and occasionally bumping into a dude who they later, after the not-apocalypse, learn is Crowley. Remember how Gabriel didn’t recognize Bildad? Yeah. The spy photos of Azi and Crowley throughout time was, to Heaven, pictures of Azi and *some guy*.

Why does Aziraphale, with his low rank and limited miracle abilities, feel guilty? For the same reason you felt guilty when the bullies bullied your friend and you just stood there. You couldn’t have stopped the bullying, you might have just gotten hurt yourself - but due to your own immaturity and fear, you did nothing. Aziraphale is always afraid of Falling, not just because of Hell or sulphur or damnation, but because Falling reminds him of his cowardice, and that if he had done the right and good thing and stood up to the bullies, him and Crowley could have been traumatized, but honest lovers for 6000 years. He HAS to fear Falling, because deep within him somewhere, if he doesn’t fear the Fall, he might WANT it too much, because it would allow him to be with Crowley.

EDIT: Crowley might enjoy watching Aziraphale indulge in earthly pleasures not just because of the whole “evil” temptation demon-thing OR because he’s desperately in love… He might also enjoy watching Aziraphale eat and drink because he knows Aziraphale can get away with it, and wants him to have good things? Maybe.

An unnecessary and in-depth analysis of magic colors used in TOH (Part 1):

At first glance it might seem like the colors used in spell circles and other magic casting is associated with the type of magic used. However, the colors that different characters use tends to be constant regardless of what type of magic they’re casting (with a few exceptions). It may not actually have any significance other than being their favorite color, but I decided to look into it further since there is a ton of symbolism in this show.

Red:

Skara, Belos, Hunter w/ staff

Red is associated with love, passion, strength, leadership but also aggression, war, danger, defiance.

In Belos’ case, the red can be seen as a symbol of his desire for power and determination to succeed in his goal to destroy witches and demons. Hunter, likewise, was influenced by Belos during the time that he used red magic, though it’s unclear whether it was from the staff itself or as a result of his influence over Hunter. Skara, on the other hand, though also very passionate, fiery, and strong, has been shown to care about her friends and take initiative to help them, so red isn’t necessarily bad.

Orange:

Boscha, Bria, Tinella Nosa, Eberwolf

Orange is associated with enthusiasm, fun, determination, success, but also being over-emotional, superficial and insincere.

I would have expected Boscha and Bria to have red magic, considering their desire for power, but after giving it some thought it’s really more of attention-seeking behavior, which fits right in with these traits. They clearly are determined to succeed in whatever they try as well as superficial and insincere. We don’t know a lot about Tiny Nose and Eberwolf, but they both seem to have fun and ferocious personalities which also fits with the orange symbolism.

Green:

Willow, Principal Bump, Demon Hunters

Light green: Terra Snapdragon, Angmar (possibly Jerbo)

Green is associated with harmony, safety, growth, and of course nature but also with jealousy, greed and corruption

Green fits Willow not only because she excels at plant magic but also because of her personality. Willow cares very deeply about harmony and safety among her friends and family and also has gone through tremendous growth as a character. Likewise, Bump is shown to be protective of the safety and harmony of the Hexside students. The demon hunters don’t share any of these positive traits, but the one defining characteristic that they do have is greed.

Angmar and Terra having similar colors puzzled me because they are so different aside from having plant magic in common. Greed and corruption suits Terra quite well though and while Angmar has also shown to be somewhat greedy, he is also very whimsical and seems like somebody that values harmony (he likes butterflies!). Apparently yellowish green can indicate decay (Terra) while pale green can signify peace (Angmar). Jerbo is listed as using white magic but I think his may also be a light green.

Blue:

Gwendolyn Clawthorne, Viney, Hettie Cutburn

Blue is associated with stability, loyalty, responsibility, security, but also coldness, control, depression

Viney is studying both healing and beast keeping, and Gwen’s coven is beast keeping, while Hettie is the healing Coven Head. Both of these types of magic are rooted in caring for others; or responsibility for others. Gwen can be oblivious and controlling but she’s still very much loyal to her family and seeks to provide a (somewhat misguided) sense of stability and security for her children. Viney also seems very self-assured and dependable which fits well with these traits. We don’t know much about Hettie but she definitely comes across as cold and possibly controlling.

You were looking out of window on cars that would come by. You never liked math or other subjects that were teached by him. He was always so mean to you. You wouldn't pay attention to him? He would get mad and you are screwed. Are you talking with someone? He is also mad. Are you doing something at all? He is mad. It doesn't matter what you do and he is mad.

As you were looking out of the window you feel presence behind you. "Not paying attention again? After school in my class. I will show you why to pay attention." Mr. Scaramouche was so mad for anything you do.

"But sir, you do it always. Why me? There are a lots of people that don't pay attention." It wasn't surprise to him that you were fighting back.

"I don't want to discuss it. After class." And that was last thing he told you.

Later that day.

You were going after school to his class where he teaches normally. You open classroom doors to see him marking tests. You sit in front of him in first row.

"Why don't you pay attention?" Mr. Scaramouche was disappointed in you. You were his favorite student but you didn't know. No one knew.

"It's boring." Only thing that you could say.

"And how should I make it interesting for you?" Mr. Scaramouche wanted to know. Badly.

"There is no way. You are just boring." That's all you could say? He wanted to change and yet you didn't told him how.

He stood up and got behind you. You could feel his breath on your ear. And his arms caging you in between him and desk.

"Boring? I wanted to change.. You know. You are my favorite student. I would do anything for my favorite student." He tried hard. He wanted to get answers from you.

And you could feel your heart bumping in your chest. Why was he so close? You could feel butterflies in your stomach.

"I... Uh." You had no words. Him so close drives you crazy.

"Hm?" His arms got closer to your body. Not touching you but close. You couldn't see it but you could feel one hand gripping your chin to look at him. "Tell me"

Now you were eyes to eyes with him. You sitting on chair. Him behind you gripping your chin to look up at him. His face could move a little and he would be lips to lips with you.

"I want to hear it from you." He was moving now. He was panicking in his head. What if you won't like him back? And what if you would tell principal and he would fire him.

Now his breath was against your lips. You didn't move. You wanted to see how it will go.

And there was it. His lips connected with yours. It was short peck but still it was a forbidden kiss between teacher and student.

Now he moved. His arms no longer caging you and him no longer behind you. He moved in front of you.

"I can't anymore. I like you so much. I know you are just my student and we shouldn't but I can't help it." He was desperate. He knew he can get fired now.

"I like you too." And that was only thing he wanted to hear. You didn't give him any time and you threw yourself on him. Lips on lips kissing each other. His hands wandering on your body to feel every inch of you. He wanted this so much. So much that he can't control himself now.

He wanted to get closer but desk was between them. So with every strength he pushed it aside so he could get closer to you. Now bodies close to each other.

His mouth opened to get his tongue out. Nibbling softly on your lower lip to get access to your mouth. You opened it and that's when theirs tongues connected. .....

My Thoughts on Amity Blight

I initially thought of Amity as a mean rich girl who bullies everyone, including Willow; however, as the series went on, I didn't see her as such, and after watching episodes beginning with "Lost in Language" and ending with "Understanding Willow", it all made WAY TOO MUCH sense on who she REALLY is and WHY she behaved the way she did: Amity has a complex trauma (C-PTSD) from her upbringing; she was emotionally abused by Odalia who pressured and blackmailed her into becoming a top student, emotionally neglected by Alador who enabled Odalia's abusive behavior, and even teased and pushed away by Emira and Edric. Because of that, Amity was raised as a miserable loner with no love or respect, and under Odalia's influence, she had been living a lie and putting on an act and façade (such as being rich snob, faking her desire of joining the coven which was forced upon by Odalia, associating with Boscha and her gang which was also forced upon by Odalia, etc).

Both "Lost in Language" and "Understanding Willow" made crystal clear without a shadow of a doubt that Amity was NEVER a bully she appeared to be; her selfish and harsh behavior was simply a reaction to how she was treated as a child, as well as her coping with her loneliness and misery as a result of Odalia forcing her to end her friendship with Willow. She never wanted to hurt Willow and was forced to do so; she was just pretending to dislike Willow and acting as a bully to protect her from Odalia and that's all.

Compared with her favorite children's book character Odiban; Amity never had real friends and her friendship with Willow was forcefully cut off by Odalia, who bullied her into associating with Boscha, who was a real bully. Amity's pretending to hang out with Boscha made everyone think she was rich snob, she let Boscha pick on Willow cause she needed to keep up the façade. Odalia compelled Amity to get green hair because she wanted her children to be "color coordinated", despite the fact that Amity inherited her father Alador's hair color. All she wanted was love, respect, and a real friends who she can laugh with and grow together with, but they keep being taken away.

And here's more, Amity never wanted to join the Emperor's Coven; her seeming excitement to join it was, IN FACT, forced upon her by Odalia. Amity also hoped that if she will have to participate in something she dislikes, she might as well try to get something out of it for herself such as love and respect from her family and the others. Amity was expecting for a better future since, according to her sister Emira, the former wasn't happy in the past and it wasn't denied by Amity who was looking for a future that would make her happy, which ironically wouldn't have happened at all.

But when Luz came around (despite taking some time), Amity finally began to come out of the shell that Odalia forced her in and Amity became a better person for it.

And besides that, the ONLY time Amity was GENUINELY mean was when she was rightfully angry with Luz for helping Willow cheat at her school assignment and getting her sent to Principal Bump's office. As for King, Amity was only mean to him by association because he knew Luz. Amity DIDN'T try to dissect Luz. She was just trying to force Luz into revealing she wasn't an abomination. What she wanted was to prove Willow cheated. Luz wasn't tied up or anything, if she didn't want to get stabbed all she had to do was... move out of the way.

Amity never had any social life after what happened with Willow, she couldn't stand Boscha and her gang and didn't have any actual friends; she only hung out with them superficially (it means fakely) under Odalia's influence. Once Luz befriended her, Amity's life got a million times better and she was actually happy for the first time in literal years.

Same as the one with Luz, Amity didn't wanted Boscha and her gang to find out about her true friendship with Willow, so she tried to burn the photo memory of their childhood friendship. While in Willow's mind, the real reason Amity didn't wanted to fix the memory of her friendship with Willow is that she didn't want Luz to find out, because she was afraid Luz would judge her especially without the proper context and thought she'd end up losing another real friend. However, thanks to Luz's emotional support, Amity reconciled with Willow by telling the truth and ended her forced association with Boscha and her gang in Understanding Willow; they became friends again in Wing it Like Witches which chronologically takes place either a few weeks or maybe one month after Enchanting Grom Fright. Despite fixing everything and regaining her friendship with Willow who understood and forgave her, Amity still felt bad about what happened, both the part with Odalia and the fact that she almost burned up Willow's brain trying to hide it, she knows Willow isn't angry anymore, but she still felt bad that all that stuff still happened because she was afraid to let Luz and Willow know the truth.

Amity was trying to make things be the way she and Willow used to be when they were kids, as shown in Labyrinth Runners where she kept getting in Willow's way because of it.

Okay, phew, this episode.

First of all, I loved loved this episode. So far it's my favorite. It had everything, drama, craziness, humor - different from the other episodes - and I really loved it. Again, turning people into their Halloween costume - a masterpiece 🤌. I absolutely loved this plot.

I loved watching Buffy's character being this woman lmao. Xander as the soldier - my heart, he really looked and even sounded hot. Willow as always my adorable hot girl. And we had OZ. Mr. Who's that girl. Adore this guy lol.

Now, WTF GILES? WHO ARE YOU? WHO IS HE!? I swear to God it took me by surprise. Damn Giles. Everyone here has a dark past(minus the teenagers but living in this town, they're well on their way).

Anyway, fav episode so far, loved every second of it. That's it for now, see ya in the next one. Cheers 🥂

I like to think that he always generslly wanted to go into teaching, one way or another

But there was a period where he considered going pro with flyer derby; but due to some unfortunate circumstance or accident, that dream was stamped out

Now I don't think he IMMEDIATELY became a vice principal; and I may be really dumb because admittedly idk how this stuff works irl, but I don't even think it's a thing to be. Fresh out of college with your devress and be a principal without any experience

Correct me if im wrong though because i /gen dont know

Call it chance or a bias for hexside, but he does eventually find his way back to hexside after he gets his teaching degree or some shit

Are there even colleges and universities in the demon realm?

Personally I like to think so; just like how I like to think there's more than 3 schools (which, granted, arent as big as hexside/glandus/saint epiderm), and different isles with their own ways of living. But hey, thats just me

Anyways

He starts off as an abominations professor, and does that for a few years

Let's him get a handle of being a teacher, which admittedly, does take some time getting used to since he's always been the student before

"Were we really this... rowdy..?" He thinks to himself while sitting at his desk, grading worksheets. A student had dared another student to throw a desk. That was that days incident

Oh and he's still as awkward as he is as a VP; just more so, since he has even LESS experience than he did before and is still trying to find his footing

Neither a strict nor laid back teacher

He won't tell on you to Faust if you're doing something harmless, but he will lightly scold you if it's causing a disruption

He... doesn't like sending kids to Faust.. if he can help it; he knows how harsh Faust can be

Falls for the "I'm gonna get my teacher to tell a story so we can get out of work today" thing, a lot

Hands out stickers

Doesn't really know how to treat students yet

Basing this off my own experience with a new teacher but imagine Bump is passing out stickers to a almost empty class, almost everyone skipped because of some event (eg. Field trip or senior skip day) and he's giving stickers to those who still turned up for class. Doesnt matter what color star you choose, he's gonna ask if its your favorite color and also say its his favorite color as well in literally the most awkward yet robotic voice

He just like me frfr

But I think he'd also like playing and making games with his students, especially studying games. Makes studying fun and helps the kids engage and remember the material; sometimes he'll even throw in a prize if the game had winners. Something small, like candy

One of the few times in his early career where he's not awkward, gwts very into the game and just flows with it

Of course everyone had to keep it down because I don't think Faust would approve

"Learning isn't supposed to be fun!!" -the snake history teacher from that one episode

When he's promoted to VP after a few years, he's still carrying his awkwardness on his sleeves. Sort of a transitional stage between the hcs above and what we have in TTBK, he's slowly mellowing out...

Also I feel like in the beginning, as a teacher, he'd try too hard to relate and appeal to the students

Mopes and ask for advice from the more experienced staff members in the teachers lounge

Palisman for Plaismanless Adult Witches

Yeah I wanted to do more witch and Palisman pairings, they are one of my favorite parts of the owl house. Well I noticed that most of my idea’s and pairings are for children, but since the previous generation where born and raised under Belos’s control, many of them do not have Palisman either, so why not fix that? Here are picks for the coven heads, the parents, and other adults we frequently see. Note I am giving some of the villain/bad adults palisman as well, it was kinda fun thinking up what they would get. Boshca, Gavin, Hermunclus, and the Glandis principal all have Palisman even though they are antagonists (Well the Glandis principal probably is based on how he runs his school). So I figure each character has some kinda drive that the palisman link to (Boshca and Maya) or some palisman are made with harsher desires than others.

Darius Deamonne: One of the easier ones because his voice actor already told fans that if Darius had a palisman it would be a hawk. The only question left is what breed of hawk? I looked at several breeds (Extra note here I am now pretty sure that Gwendolyn Clawthorne’s palisman, Hawk-sly, is a Ridgeway Hawk. The picture I saw of one showed a hawk with a white head, like a bald eagle). For Darius I would say the classic red-tailed hawk would be best. It is strong, sharp eyed, lightweight, master of the sky, and has some of the most elagent and individualized plumage of any Hawk. Red-tailed hawk for Darius.

Raine Whispers: I saw a post that said Raine’s voice actor was asked the same question as Darius, and they answered that Raine would have a Penguin, they also said that Raine’s penguin would either be named Gatsby or Waddles ( Raine Whispers and Mabel Pines meeting, and introducing their same-named-animals to each other, then talking about bard hobbies they do with them). Once again we just need to choose a breed. Now the classic penguin model is an emperor penguin, but for obvious reasons that will not work for traitor to the throne, rebel leader, Raine Whispers. neither would a king penguin or a crown penguin. I would say the best type of penguin for Raine would be the african penguin. It is slim, has an adorable and still fairly well known black and white stripey design. Is both strong and fast, mates for life, and has no affiliation to outdated system’s of monarchs.

Eberwolf The Huntsman: I looked and looked to see if any one had asked Eber’s voice actor about palisman but found nothing (Why ask the other two but not Eber’s?), so It looks like I will have to pick based on what I know about Eberwolf... I pick a tarantula/giant spider. Sipders are small, fierce, master hunters, like Eberwolf. Spiritually they represent connections and interwoven webs between others. Eberwolf is deeply contected to the beasts on the isles through beast keeping, and the CATT”s since as people have pointed out he is the one who keeps Darius and Raine focused, and is generally the first to move. Also you know how Principal Bump has a staff for Frewin, but normally carries him around on his head? I cannot see Eberwolf carrying a staff around. He runs everywhere, and when he is not running he rides on giant worms (or on Big Bro Darius’s shoulders). So I am imagining that Eber would have a staff just for flying to places when needed, but for ground work the spider would climb on to his back and its legs would turn into backpack straps, so that he could carry them hands free.

Terra Snapdragon: Now we are getting into the “what type of palisman would the baddies bond with”. Terra was surprisingly easy. A poison dart frog. This is a very colorful tropical frog. It’s also very tiny, only about the size of a thumb nail. Terra would not need a staff either, she could probably wear it like a jewel. This frog size makes it look harmless, and again it has really nice, bright, vibrant colors,.. those are a warning, because it’s small fragile looking body is loaded with toxins, and prolonged exposure is hazardous to your health. Just like Terra.

Adrian Graye Venworth: A mouse. We all know who, or should I say what Adrian is based off of; and we all know who, or should I say what its mascot is. No need to make this one harder than it has to be.

Hettie Cutburn: She was a bit harder than Terra. I kept going through witch doctor animals, and really dangerous animals that could hurt you. I finally settled on an electric eal. Just because a patient does not need electroshock therapy, just because it offers no benefit to said patient, is not any reason for Hettie to not suggest shock therapy.

Mason: A beaver It’s brown, burly, good at construction, and I do not think they are all that chatty. With what little we got to see of Mason, him and beaver’s share these traits

Vitimir: A Skunk. Okay I do not think Vitimir is evil. Firstly until I know more about him, Osran, and Mason I am labeling them all as "dumb pawns who could not see that they were being tricked". Secondly the fact that he wears a mask around people unless they start a fight, and only then does he blow acid/poison clouds at them, kinda makes him seem more defensive than out right malice. Like he does not initially want to hurt anyone, but is gonna protect himself in a fight.. But with his “special ability” and the resting anger written clear on his face, I cannot deny that he would be a very unpleasant person to not be on the right side of. A skunk is another animal with a fume related “special ability”, that if encountered you do not want to be on the wrong side of.

Osran: I know nothing about Osran and have some questions as to how Belos managed to trick an elderly Oracle so easily?... Well intelligence isn’t a requirement for being a witch (in this universe), neither is it one for having a palisman. Since Oracle track members fight with ghosts, I will give Osran a little Casper looking ghost palisman. Casper was kinda short-sided too if my memory stands.

Alador Blight: Another pretty easy one as well (this is assuming that the little rat from CATH was not a palisman, but a regular pet). Alador loves butterfly’s and moths. I picked a moth because they are sorta more interesting in meaning. Spiritually a moth means great change is around the corner. In some cultures they are seen as messengers of tragedy,because they are creatures of the dark. (Alador made the abomitron’s that gave the emporer more power, and when he agreed to an increased work week he left his kids more vulnerable to his wife’s abuse). But some cultures also think that moths can mean good changes because they fly towards the light (Alador also said he makes security systems for protecting peoples homes. When he found out just how far down his wife had sunk he destroyed the factory, took the kids, and left). Now moths have as many different breeds as birds. I am going to go with a lunar moth for Alador. They're large, have uniquilly shaped, very aerodynamic wings, and are a beautiful iridescent green with black circles. Very nice to watch, and who knows what inspiration he could gleam from it.

Odalia Blight. A cotton mouthed snake. Okay this women is a snake in the grass, she is tricky, and she is toxic. But she is not a rattle snake or a cobra. Those you know right away are bad news and you should avoid at all costs. From a distance Odalia seems like a sweet middle-aged women, who is trying to balance work, and family, while making it fun for herself. So I am picking a cotton mouthed for her. From a distance they look a bit like a common, harmless, grass/rat snake. It's only when you get closer and see the flattened head that you know they are poisonous. Its only when you get close to Odalia that you notice just how sinister her eyes and smile are.

Harvey Park: Gilbert cannonly has a pig, so I only need to pick for Harvey. I know little about Harvey. In EE when we meet him and Gilbert, Harvey seems the more stern. Well after TTBK a really brilliant fan (not me) wrote a great analysis on Harvey and Gilbert, and the way they seem to handle both magic back then, and parenting now. They said Gilbert was/is more laid-back and optimistic, while Harvey, more than just being stern, is very direct and take charge. If Harvey see’s something that needs to be done, he is not going to wait around or call someone to do it (That will probably be Gilbert if Harvey’s attempt makes it worse) He will role up his sleeves, grab some tools, and try to do it himself. So I will give him a gopher. Because Gopher’s are hard working, independent rodents, who like it best when the are up to their necks in mud and dirt.

Perry Porter. Perry is a former Oracle track witch who is actually a nice guy. He is a news reporter, a single father, brings his son on T.V. with him sometimes, and once let Willow have his mic during a live petrafication event because she had something to say about it. I would say he seems to have similar views as Bump's as far as loyalty to the system. He does his job, but also encourages safe exploration for kids. If the show were longer I might have shipped him with Camila (Eda is with Raine, these two are both single, their kids get along, and he looks kinda similar to her first husband so she would probably find him handsome). I am going to give him a dog, more specifically a Husky. Smart, kind, historically were used to carry mail before air mail became possible

Camila Noceda: I know she is not a witch, but I am choosing to use her. A bangle tiger. She is a tiger mom.

Morton: Everybody remember the kitty palisman that looked like Mew? I want to give Morton one that looks like Gloom or Vileplume. Those are pokemon perfume and potion makers frequently had.

Steve: In my previous post I said he should adopt the purple thing of indeterminable species from Hunting Palismans (I kinda wondered if maybe it was supossed to be a horseshoe crab, one comment I got suggested sting ray). If he cannot adopt them, then maybe a scorpion palisman. Hear me out. We see during his road trip with King, that Steve likes bugs. Steve is not a poisonous guy, he might be the sweetest guy in the Boiling Isles. But he says he was not always like this when he was younger. Scorpions are their most poisonous when they are young, and it lessons with age. 5Steve has gotten better as he grew up and went through life. Also I looked up there meanings and while some of them are not good, scorpions can symbolize light &dark, as well as endings and beganings, more specifically rhe idea that an ending is not really the end. This can reflect how Steve grows to feel about the Emperor’s Coven and his decision to quit.

The Hexside Illusion Teacher: Okay we will discuss her palisman in just a second. Can we discuss her lack of a name first? This is like the best teacher at Hexside (Bump is the best adult, but he is the principal, not a teacher). She deserves a name. I am headcanoning that her name is Mrs.Henrietta Heyfear. Then I am giving her a unicorn palisman. They are large, caring, and powerful, just like her.

Kikimora: (this is after the Emperor is dead, and she cannot just hand one over to him to be eaten) Kikimora always saw herself as this great, and powerful, highly skilled member of The Emperor’s Coven. At the end of it all she was never more than an annoying, yapping, lapdog. Give her chihuahua or Yorkie to match.

Severine: The bipedal deamon who quit the Emperor’s Coven to go back to the Tiny Cat Coven. A kittycorn.

Eda being so excited to join the Emperor’s (fascist cult military) Coven (and enforce his oppressive policies that are all in service of some great plot that may or may not lead to the end of their world as they know it) with Lilith is so cute and wholesome (that I forget the whole ”Lilith cursed Eda over this” thing).

So there are seven months between now and the Emperor’sCoven’s tryouts, the day Lilith cursed Eda. I’m not sure how long a Demon Realm month is in human time measurements, but it’s a good bit. At the moment, Eda is really enthusiastic about joining. But we know that in seven months' time, she will have come to the conclusion that covens are not for her. So the question is, was her decision to skip out on the coven life a decision she came to her own, something she was thinking about for a long time (she was always a chaotic person after all), or does it have something to do with a certain cute bard.

Past Hexside! Not a whole lot has changed in the last thirty years or so as far as I can tell at a quick glance, but I’m excited because I have the feeling we’ll get to see some familiar faces in younger form.

Like these two, one of whom has three eyes and kinda the same face as Boscha while the other has the same hair color as Boscha. Three-eyes even has the same eye color as our favorite grudgby player in the year 2022.

(oh and by the way, in case you missed my little revelation as brought on by THIS ask; I’ve determined that the series’ present-day most likely takes place in 2022. the other closest possible year would be 2016, but remember back in season one, Eda called fidget spinners an outdated human reference. fidget spinners wouldn’t be an outdated reference in 2016 because fidget spinners were popular in 2017… for like a month. This is the riveting kind of analysis you can only get from Lampman Liveblogs)

Next up on our list of baby versions of characters from the present, we get to see Alador, Odalia and Darius. We’ve already seen younger version of them all before as brief cameos in flashbacks or in photographs, but here they are, actually animated this time.

The thing that is really interesting about this interaction though is the fact that they’re all friends. We saw in the photo of Alador at the Bonesborough Brawl that Darius was in the audience, booing. And this rivalry has continued ever since, with Alador and Darius both taking shots at the other.

I went back to take a second look at that photo and Alador looks older there than he does here. It’s a bit harder to tell with Darius & Odalia, but Eda & Raine in the background seem to resemble the young adult versions we’ve seen in some flashbacks. So some years pass between now and then. This leads to the inevidble… ineveitble… inedible… unavoidable question of what happened to make them such enemies? What was it that came between them?

Yikes! The former Principal at Hexside did not joke around, he was intense! Manifests himself out of a fire pillar and sends multiple students to detention for being ”late to being early.” He even invokes the slippery slope fallacy, truly an intellectual powerhouse. His tail is cool though.

Faust is, of course, the name of a famous play about some guy named Faust who makes a deal with the devil.

And as I just found out, Johann Faust was a real man who supposedly dabbled in the dark arts. As in magic, not painting.

In addition to Johnny Blaze here, we also get to meet a younger Hieronymus Bump. And it’s shown that he was always a bit of a softie, trying to look out for the students’ best and whatnot. That line about staking his career on an irredeemable student sounds like a set-up for a plot.

Some fun little Raeda blended family headcanons (based on https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/whotfelsewantedtobelynnyx/686181058295824384?source=share)

Amber, even though she's technically older than King* is considered the baby of the household. Derwin, Katya, and Luz all refer to her as their baby sister (or in Luz's case, step-sister**), and Eda sometimes calls her 'little bat.'

Derwin never really took on the role of protective older brother until Luz came into his life- but when she did, he took to it with a passion. He once nearly gave Amity a heart attack when she kissed Luz goodbye and turned around just in time to make eye contact with her glaring stepbrother (who came to pick her up from school).

Raine did make Eda give up the nest when they got married. However, they compromised by building her an enormous pile of pillows and bedding (which the kids love).

King takes turns sleeping in everyone else’s beds (although his favorite is still Luz’s, of course)

Katya keeps extra pillows stashed under her bed in case the younger girls have nightmares***.

Katya and Luz sit and write together almost every day. Some days they write poems, other days they write fanfictions, but most days they work on a fantasy/murder mystery novel that they're writing together (sometimes King helps)

Amber and Katya transferred to Hexside after their parent’s marriage and the subsequent moveinto the Owl House. Principal Bump naively assumed that they took after their adoptive parent, and found out the hard way that Amber in particular seemingly took after her stepmother. Coincidentally, Eda was also banned from attending parent-teacher conference night.

Luz begged Raine to teach her piano when they first began courting Eda again. It was during these piano lessons that Raine asked her blessing to marry Eda.

Most of the time, the kids just call their parents by their first names. When they don’t, the kids call Raine some variation of “boss” in place of a traditional ‘Mom’ or ‘Dad’ (Eda, of course, is Mama Eda) .

Camilla**** regularly “video chats” with the whole family, and she and Raine have become good friends.

Eda, surprisingly, is the better cook of the household. Raine is a decent cook. However, the two of them aren’t allowed in the kitchen together after they managed to set a pot of water on fire.

Lilith had a house built not far from the Owl House, where she cares for the Blight children***** and regularly visits her nieces and nephews. While she adores all her niblings, she became particularly close with Derwin after she took a job teaching at the university he attends.

Gwendolyn and Dell are grandparents. That’s all.

Actually that’s not all. Amber is 100% Grandpa’s little girl. She’s got that man wrapped around her finger, to the point that Raine and Eda had to have a sit-down with him after Amber came home one day with a pet unicorn.

That’s all I have for now, but if people like this I’ll try and do more!

*I headcanon their ages to be as follows:

Raine: 43

Eda: 43

Derwin: 19

Katya: 17

Luz (by the time the DOU takes place): 15, or nearly 15

Amber: 13-14

King: nearly 9

**Raine adopted their crew post-DOU, after realizing how mutually important they were to each other (almost dying will do that for you) and Eda informally adopted Luz. Thus, when Raine and Eda married, the B/CATTS became Luz and King’s step-siblings

***This AU takes place post DOU. Everyone’s ok, but they’re understandably a little traumatized.

****One of the consequences of stopping the DOU and the Collector (in this AU) was that the door to the human world was closed off permanently. Camilla was angry and hurt at first, but started to open up communications for the sake of both her daughters. Eventually, she admitted that Eda was now sharing her role as Luz’s mother, and settled into her life raising Vee. Since then, they’ve had a relatively healthy (if a little awkward) relationship.

*****Odalia was basically scorned out of the Boiling Isles for her involvement in the DOU. Alador sent his kids to live with Lilith (Amity’s former mentor and (headcanoned) godmother to the twins) while they worked on mending their relationships.

omg tysm anon this means so much i definitely didn't start crying when i read this nope

btw obligatory warning for season 2 spoilers!!

SO. the owl house.

first off, i'm gonna talk about Luz + the main gang bc i absolutely love them. so you have Luz, who's insane but like. in a lovable way. like if i knew her irl i would probably be terrified of her but she's also really nice and stuff!! just like. no self preservation instinct. anyway she's unhinged but very fun !

then Eda, aka the Owl Lady, aka wine aunt extraordinaire. she's very much like Luz except i would actually trust her with my life and she's a sweetheart and i want her to adopt me so fucking bad. also she's cursed and that's kinda fun. sometimes. actually it isn't but she sure looks cool when she's in her owl/monster/beast/evil form-

Hooty (i. spelled that as hotty at first and am extremely ashamed) and King are the first siblings that Luz obtains. Hooty (oh my FUCKING god why do i keep calling him hotty) is obnoxious and can take off his own skin, which is horrific, and King is a very good boy. certified munchkin. i wanna pet him.

then there's everyone at school who i love So Much, Gus is my child and Willow is so fucking badass and Amity is girlfriend™ (just not at first). honorable mention for Principal Bump because he will forever be the best magical school principal and i wanna give him a hug

i really kinda thought the show was boring for the majority of the first season, but holy fuck did it deliver around ep16-ish. like everything starts to come together, we get a main villain (Belos), a main quest (getting the portal back), and more stuff!! it's just really awesome, it became one of my favorite series in just two episodes.

i really love how Eda's sister (her name has currently been forgotten lol) became friends with Hooty, they got such a nice friendship after everyone kinda hated Hooty and it made me really happy.

THEN!!!! ENTER HUNTER (aka my favorite fucking character of all time currently). just. omg. Zuko but Even More Traumatized (probably. maybe). it's so hard to tell what he's thinking, especially when he's first introduced. he's really cheerful and....well, not friendly, but he's very confident and boisterous, and clearly believes that he's a good person/on the right side. on the other hand, even in his first few episodes it's really obvious he's uh. not that mentally healthy. (like in the scenes where he starts infodumping about something he's read and then just kinda. cuts himself off. that was so relatable it made me sad every time hgfdfghjhgf)

and then the big reveal about him in s2e16, oh my god. i called a lot of the major plot twists but the fact that he's literally a fucking clone of Belos's probably-brother??? imagine how mentally fucked up finding that out would make you. he held himself together Surprisingly Well considering his entire life was shattered in like. less than an hour and he realized he was going to fucking die if he ever saw his uncle again. like. just imagine. he's already been abused so much (personal hc of mine that Belos gave him those scars) and he's already terrified of Belos, but he doesn't really think Belos is going to kill him. maybe hurt him, maybe demote him or something else bad but he doesn't think he's going to die and then he finds out that literally all oF HIS PREDECESSORS WERE MURDERED BY BELOS???? AND THAT HE WAS JUST SOMETHING THAT COULD BE THROWN AWAY IF HE MESSED UP OR DID ANYTHING BAD??????? CMON BRO THAT'S A-TIER WRITING

and his dynamic with the rest of the characters is so great, i love how he and Luz always bicker with each other but then work together, and Amity being able to relate to him and trying to make him feel better at the lake/titan blood mine and him and Willow and Gus are just like siblings they're so adorable. Gus helping him with his panic attack is one of my favorite scenes in any show i've ever watched and i am not kidding about that. they're just so ugh. showing him that he can be loved and it's not his fault and hhhaahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaa *loud screeching*

the whole day of unity thing was absolutely incredible, i love how Darius and animal coven dude and Raine were actually trying to stop the day of unity before the mcs even really knew how big of a deal it was, and i love that you can't tell that Darius and animal dude were on the good side until wayyyyy after Raine's assumedly captured by them. it's really good writing. (also Darius is Hunter's Dad™. i do and will not take criticism on this.)

btw don't even get me started on Raine istfg- they make me so incredibly happy. just. the fact that they're so badass and wonderful and Definitely not in love with Eda and their magic is so cool and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. seeing a canon nb character is something that gives me a lot of courage, just the way that everyone respects their pronouns and is totally chill about it makes me so incredibly happy (especially in the last few days. hah.) i need to see more of Raine, especially after that finale bc oh god what if they're dead or something?????? i'm so scared

aLSO ALSO!!!! the Collector is baby. i would adopt him (them?) in 2.0 seconds if i could. he deserves to be happy and have friends and not be betrayed by everyone who he helps. i honestly feel super bad for him, he's just a lil god kid who wants to play w ppl :((( why is everyone afraid of himmm

the season two finale killed me btw. i'm dead. deceased. writing this from my coffin. like wtf are they gonna do now that Raine (and everyone else) is dead/dying and Eda doesn't have an arm and the kids are both stuck in the human world and Extremely traumatized (looking at you Hunter) and King's stuck with the Collector (who he betrayed and who is probably not gonna be very happy about that)???? i'm going insane. legitimately when i finished i just kinda closed my computer and said "oh my god" out loud. i cannot handle this i'm so scared omg

that being said i really want to see the gang's reaction to the human world. i wanna see Gus obsessing over paperclips again :( i feel like there's so much potential for the gang to all be adopted by Luz's mom and i am HERE for it. Hunter needs a mom asap

Ah, this is an interesting question! I imagine that my thoughts may change as other characters get the spotlight more, but at the moment, probably Lilith!

My thoughts in a little more detail:

Belos hasn't even made an appearance yet, so he's out of the competition immediately. Better luck next time, dude!

While Luz's mom and hand hair lady (both of whose names I know, but whom I continue to refer to by nickname for some reason) have both shown up in one episode each, I haven't seen much of either of them yet, so I think I'll need to learn more about them before I can form stronger opinions.

(At the moment, though, my feelings about Camila are generally positive, since I get the impression that she's doing her best overall, while my thoughts on Kikimora are more neutral because her one appearance wasn't much more than a cameo.)

Hm, let’s see... what other adult characters do we have who are both named and uneaten at this point in time? (Actually, I’m discounting the one-off antagonist characters in general for the time being since I’m not sure what role, if any, they’ll play in future episodes.)

Morton seems pretty young, but I would assume Eda’s been doing business with him for a while, so he’s probably an adult? I don’t really know what to make of him, though. I think he’s also in the “need more data” category.

That leaves just Principal Bump and Lilith, both of whom I quite like. Lilith has raised a lot more questions for me than Principal Bump in her appearances so far, so it’s her air of mystery that gives her the win here.

Funnily enough, some of my favourite things about both of them are their respective dynamics with Eda. I’m not sure exactly what this means, but it’s interesting to note!

Chapter 5.8

I kicked and stomped the roots. I felt like I had no place to go. I was too scared to go to the beach by myself, afraid that I might bump into that vile woman. Afraid that I’ll meet more of her. And people will mumble and mutter behind their breaths, buzzing words that will pester us. But I also didn’t want to go back inside the house. She was turning me into something that she would recognize, turning into someone she would understand. Someone who wouldn't be the cause of whispers of people who had plenty of time on their hands to be rude and stupid.

I heard her leave the house and call my name. She was going to the market again. Or someplace else. She had a lot of friends, like you. As soon as I heard her gates close, I went back inside, grabbed the keys she always left under the miniature globe on the bookshelf, and climbed up the stairs to unlock that door.

A click and the doorknob turned.

My hand was on the metal. I didn’t think myself a disobedient kid, but then I realized that maybe there weren’t things to be disobedient about back in the city. I just wanted to see her somewhere around the house. I wanted to see her ghost, her specter, her memories, her life before me.

Colors seized my eyes as soon as I entered.

I was prepared to see nothing; taped boxes and thick curtains draping over secrets. But there were paintings stacked on paintings: a tower of canvas. Those that were the most vivid were framed and displayed on the walls. I walked over. I saw my mother's signature. There were paintings of both her lives; her past and present: carabaos in the mud, a field of flowers, the sea, the skyscrapers near our apartment.

There was one painting in the middle. It was a portrait of me as a baby, nestled between two arms. One younger and one wrinkled. My mother and grandmother. This was the only painting that was encased in glass. I accidentally kicked over a large stack of old journals when I inspected it. I picked one up and saw sketches of me grinning with one tooth, and one when I was playing with my mother’s hair. There were old scratchy photographs of me in this province; one in the town square splashing in a fountain, one eating fish balls and squid balls, one in the sunset at the beach, and one at the garden with lola. I was a bright beaming kid.

And then as I flipped through the journals, I saw that my father had sent photos of me in the city. I was wearing my clean school uniform. I was riding on a merry-go-round. I was eating ube and chocolate ice cream. My smiles were dim, the kind of smile where someone had to tell me to smile.

I looked around. There were other things too, like my lolo’s instruments; books and a telescope and almanacs. She all kept them here. I didn’t understand.

I didn’t hear lola enter through the door. “She was so talented, your mother.” She spoke gently enough but I still jumped from my skin. She walked over and caressed the painting I was looking at. Then she thumbed the frame of another work: the one with a clear blue sky and a flowering meadow.

She said, “Her first painting. How I boasted of her." She closed her eyes. She bit her lip. "Ella didn’t like that. As the principal, I should have had the foresight that the other students might make her feel awkward, but as a mother… how could I not be overjoyed with what she has in her?” Lola took in a breath. Her eyes looked around as if seeing the room for the first time as if she didn't lock herself in these walls every time she felt alone. “I thought she would be full of life and color if this is what she saw, that her world must be so vibrant. But then as she grew older, she… closed herself to life and I couldn’t bring her out, no matter what we did. She stopped tasting her favorite food. I watched her chew without feeling the flavor, I just knew it. She cut off all her friends, saying that they were all making fun of her, anyway, and it was best to be alone than deal with all that. And it broke my heart every day to see her like that.” My grandmother looked at me. Her eyes were like smooth glass. “It’s just like with you. Haven’t you noticed I’ve been cooking your favorite food?”

I didn’t. I just realized that she’s been cooking adobo for lunch and buying cheese rolls in the bakery nearby during meryenda.

“You’re just like her Mikha. Sweet and silent. And...” Lola stowed the portrait away. “It hurt me, that I couldn’t understand my own daughter. My own daughter. And she didn’t want to talk to me no matter how much I pleaded with her to reach out. I was right here. Her father and I were just right here." She sniffed. "I saw her look at the stars every night, and we felt this… this anger and urgency inside her, I don’t know what to call it. Not long after that, she decided she would go to the city and I was so scared that she would never look back.” She touched her chest. “I felt that nothing would ever satisfy her no matter how far she’d go and I was afraid she would go where I couldn’t reach her and go where she would be forever lost.”

And now she's gone. And I hope she's happy there in Canada. I hope she gets to paint all of her heart's desires.

It took a long time before we said anything. I gave lola the photo album I held. “It isn’t because she wasn’t satisfied. It’s just that she knew she would belong… someplace else. I think she wanted people who would understand her.”

I told her that Mama still looked at the stars at night. She was always somewhere away. I wondered if she was still looking at the stars right now, wherever she was.

“I tried to understand her as best I could.” She said, looking at the floor. “If only I could speak through colors.”

I went over to her and touched her arm. I swallowed. "We tried to understand her too." It hurt to say the next part. “We sometimes couldn’t understand her either.” I thought that it wasn’t my job to understand my mother. “But we just let her become herself, even when that meant she would disappear for a while. We just had to remind her that we’re always nearby. Just like you did.”

Lola said nothing. She wiped her face with her skirt. I looked away and touched the thick stack of books.

“Why did you hide them all?”

Lola turned towards me. Her eyes were like the surface of a fish pond. “All these were in the living room in full display. But I couldn't bear to look at them. Especially now that your mother’s far away. I thought it would hurt you too.”

So that was why the walls were so empty. I shook my head. “It’s amazing, what she did. Imagine… me coming from someone who can paint that way. See the world that way.”

There was a shadow of expression that passed on Lola’s face. “With respect to your father, you are as deep as your mother. You’re becoming more like her now.” She smiled. It was a smile playing on the fringes of sadness, melancholy, and something else.

I said, “I’m sure you did your best to understand her. You encouraged her. Maybe she should have tried harder as well. And I’m sorry that I unlocked the door.”

“I’m sorry that I kept it from you. This was also your lolo’s office, by the way. This was where you—”

“Sat on his lap and asked questions, I think I’m remembering now.” I grinned. I think I saw myself crawling and looking at his gray hair and strong arms. I wish I could have inherited that. I’ve got my father’s arms instead; slender, and I suppose, now that I look at them, my mother’s fingers.

I looked at my grandmother, as if just I finally met her for the first time again after years of being apart. “Lola, I like to draw. I'm not very good at it, actually. But I like doing it. I like to read, too. I spend most of my time alone because other people don’t like how I can be with myself for too long." At least, that's what I think. The alien who has a world of his own, they say. There are other kids like me, but we don’t usually stick together. I think because they’re rich and I’m not. Or maybe I haven’t met the right people yet.” I smiled at her. "Maybe some of you can rub off on me. It's so easy for you to make friends," I said.

Lola chuckled. We went out of the room together, closing the door behind her. I didn’t hear her lock it. Everything was lighter after that. I found that it was easier for my words to flow.

During dinnertime, I helped her with the fish, and I tasted, finally tasted, her cooking. And I smiled at the vinegar and soy sauce on my tongue. We washed the dishes together. We went out towards the mango tree and watched the stars, allowing the night wind to blow our hair until I yawned.

I asked her if she'd allow me to hang the first painting Mama ever made in my room. There it is now, the only splash of color on the bare walls. This was the room she grew up in, the room she could not wait to get away from. She started painting at my age. I wonder if I can make something like that.
