Hi! Thank you for my last request! It was amazing! I am so filled with emotions that I wanted to do another request where Reader is Kayn's younger sister. And here's my idea. Reader is still a teenager, but she goes to high school. But like her brother, she has an alter ego. Reader herself is calm and quiet, and is also a pacifist. But her alter ego is her exact opposite. She is very cunning, crazy, and also a skilled manipulator. She can also be aggressive. Once, when Reader was offended, her alter ego brought a kitchen knife with her to school the next day, but she didn't kill anyone, she just scared off the abusers. Because of her alter ego, Reader was nicknamed abnormal. They often say that "she's just as crazy as her brother," but they try to say it outside of Reader's presence because they're afraid of provoking her aggressive personality. Thank you very much!
This is amazingly detailed and a super cool idea, I am excited to write this! Here you gooooo! <3 Thank you so much for your praise on the last one, i was a little nervous about it tbh!
I took a bit more time to actually plan out where I was going with this one. I hope you enjoy it as much as the other one!
CONTENT: Student reader x big brother Kayn. Slight mentions of bullying, seclusion, bringing a weapon to school, mental illness?
Tumblr media
There was nothing you hated more than meeting new people. The past month you had not only done that, but you had moved and ended up at an entirely new school- one with no friends, new teachers, and new classes.
The first few weeks were a nauseous display of meet and greets, teachers trying to understand where you left off at your last school, and you trying to get used to all the new overall.
And the students... your peers... everyone was so difficult and different to the people you had been used to where you lived previously. The stress of everything had been getting to you, and the day you dreaded finally came.
It was a normal Tuesday at first, sitting alone in the library at lunch while reading a horror novel you had found shoved behind some dumb teenage-proof books. Your day had gone smoothly up until then, even though you had felt a tad irritable since waking up.
A girl, one who you could have sworn belonged on the cover of a teen magazine, walked up to you and plopped down. She was loudly chewing gum, ripping her books out of her backpack and slamming them on the table. Unfortunately for you, she saw your glare.
"You don't own the library, you know," she spat at you, flipping her long straight hair over a shoulder.
It was a simple statement, really. You were always so quiet, so reserved.
When her words penetrated your ears, you felt yourself go numb at first. It hadn't happened for so long, you almost forgot what was happening. It was like someone turned you off, your eyes rolling back in your head and a deep breath cascading into your lungs. When your breath released and your eyes reopened, you weren't you anymore.
You were her.
She slammed her book onto the table, standing so abruptly the chair underneath her flew backward.
"Who told you to sit here, of all places?", her- your- voice was loud. Louder than it should be in such a place. You gestured to the multitude of empty tables surrounding the two of you, eyes wide with a craze you felt permeating through your blood, heating you up. "Look at all of those tables! Why here?"
"Jeez, I just sat down somewhere, I didn't think about it," the girl huffed, scooping up her backpack and books without bothering to put them away as she walked to a different table. Your gaze followed her the entire way, hands still flat on the tabletop.
When she sat down and looked at you briefly before turning her attention to her phone, the flip switched again, and you were yourself once more.
A blush rose in your cheeks as you realized what you, no, what she had done. That disgrace that lived within you, the same one that affected your brother.
Your other half, unfortunately. The ying to your yang. The chaos to your neutrality.
You tried to steady your heartbeat and your breathing as you leant down to shamefully pick up the chair and shove it back under the table. Quickly gathering your belongings you scurried out of the library, calling Kayn to pick you up early for the day.
When he arrived, his face was twisted into an expression of concern, eyeing you closely as you hugged your bookbag to your chest and climbed into his shiny black car.
"What happened?" he asked, eyebrows knitted together. You shook your head no, refusing to respond. Holding back your tears was no easy feat as you kept your focus on the school building slowly passing by while Kayn began driving.
You did your best to maintain composure the next few weeks until in passing period you heard two teachers talking about stories they had heard about Kayn from friends at your previous school.
Great, you had thought, apparently even the teachers gossip.
"Two of the same, him and his sister. Is she in any of your classes?" One voice said.
"Yeah, she's so quiet all of the time. I'm certain she will snap at any moment. Didn't you tell me Kayn got into a fist fight with his gym teacher?"
"That's what Sharon told me. What a little freak. I wouldn't be surprised if he's locked up now," you couldn't take it. Naturally you wanted to defend your brother. You could feel through the tension in your body that she did too.
You had to go.
Certain any little thing may trigger her to come out, you shoved your earbuds in with shaky fingers as you made a b-line for the exit.
On the walk home you couldn't stop your thoughts from racing a mile a minute.
Was Kayn really that bad?
Am I going to fist fight somebody?
Please don't come out... Please.
That night went by fast- too fast. Every little thing was upsetting you. It wasn't until you were laying in bed falling asleep while deep in thought that you felt her coming out.
No! You cried internally. But it was too late. Before she had any chance to do anything, your body was already asleep.
~~
The next morning was a blur. Through blinks of haze you saw your hand reaching for a kitchen knife, putting it in your backpack, and getting on the bus. The knife handle was just a little too long, sticking out of the zipper of your bag.
You reached your school, the whole-time sobbing, begging inside your own head to regain control. You just couldn't.
She had consumed your entire being.
You knew she was plotting something nefarious, since the knife was in your bag. You didn't want anything bad to happen, so you tried to focus and regain any sort of your standard conscience.
Before you knew it, you were sitting in the principal's office, the SRO leaning against the wall beside you with his arms crossed. As soon as the teacher saw the handle of the knife in your bag, she dragged you to the principal.
Through the blur, Kayn came in the room. He took one look at you, into your eyes, and spoke to the SRO for a moment. She didn't dismiss the sideways glances from the few teachers in the surrounding office area as you and your brother exited.
"Fuck off! Who do you think you're looking at like that?" Stop! Please be quiet!
Kayn just grabbed your wrist roughly, dragging you along as your other half fought and yanked to go lay your hands upon those giving dirty looks and whispering amongst themselves.
He basically had to throw you in the car to get you to shut up, shoving you in and slamming the door. Your body plopped onto the rough seats and you crossed your arms with a huff, staring out the window as he climbed in and drove away.
"Y/N, you need to come back to me. Can you do that for me, sis?" Kayn's voice was soft, contrary to the stern and somewhat annoyed look on his face. She rolled her eyes in response.
"Why should I let her come back? She is a pushover who would let anyone and everyone talk bad about you as well as herself. Doesn't seem like she can handle the world the way it is," your- her- voice comes out snarky, all the while gazing at the blur of buildings and trees as Kayn drives.
The drive was long, you had to assume he was taking you back to the city you lived before, Kayn pulled onto a remote road right after the city limit sign that led towards a place you were all too familiar with.
The beach.
It was the beach he always retreated too when he couldn't get his other half, Rhaast as he called him, under control. You felt pride in your heart even as your counterpart huffed in annoyance.
Kayn didn't say anything as he put the car in park and walked down the sandy beach toward the oceans waves. For a moment, you felt calm, and you knew she was bound to leave soon.
"I don't want to go," she sighed, fiddling with the hem of the sleeves on your jacket.
Okay... you thought. Maybe we can try and make a deal. We each get our time with boundaries or something... Since we are kind of one in the same.
"Fine," she said, gazing out towards the water where your brother was sitting, his hair flowing in the wind. You felt your heartrate quicken for a moment as your eyes fluttered closed, and you returned to yourself.
You couldn't help it, hyperventilating for a moment before rushing out of the car towards Kayn. You plopped down on your knees in the sand beside him, burying your face into his shoulder as you cried.
He sat in the same position as he was, your head boney on his arm as you sobbed. After a moment he lifted his arms and pulled you into a hug, rubbing your hair with his hand.
"Hey, hey. It's okay," he tried to soothe you. "If you want, I can teach you some tricks to keep her under control."
"I- I- I think I need to do it on my own," you stuttered in response, and he pursed his lips and nodded once.
"If you ever need to breathe, or let loose, let me know. I'll help you, okay? I always come here when I need to think or cool off or just reset in general. Think you can do that, sis? Let me know?"
"Yes, yes," you replied, wiping your nose with the back of your hand as you began calming down. "I don't want anything bad to happen to people. How am I supposed to face everyone at school tomorrow?"
"Oh, yeah. About that, you were kind of... expelled?" Kayn said, a grimace on his face as he weighed out your reaction.
"Fuck," was all you could reply. Kayn rolled his eyes and nodded.
"Don't worry, I'll tell mom and dad I offered to homeschool you," he laughed and you snorted.
The two of you joked around the rest of the time on the beach, taking breaks here and there to just stare off into the crashing waves.
You silently thanked the Gods for your brother. If he wasn't there, what else could have happened?

a failed attempt to hate you
(tristan dugray)
Tumblr media
a/n: i can only apologise if this writing is terrible, i wrote most of this in the middle of the night hopped up on medication for my disgusting cold. i hope it makes sense. anywho thanks for reading, enjoy, mwah <3
screw mr medina for making you help tristan study. you knew he knew from rory your inherent disdain for him, and it wasn’t your fault he was falling behind therefore not your responsibility to help him (as you had told mr medina last tuesday, with no effect). it was now sunday morning and you held little hope he would actually show up this time; he had somehow managed to cancel on your little study date 6 times already and it had only been 5 days since you were handed this apparently mammoth task. honestly, you didn’t expect him to show up at all, especially not anytime before noon- for which reasons you had made the decision put on your usual lazy sunday morning reading in bed get-up, which included (but was not limited to) an oversized rock concert shirt rory’s friend lane had given you in an attempt to clear her closet of non-christian attire, nothing but underwear underneath since you wouldn’t plan on leaving the comfort of your bedsheets for many hours, and a loose silk scrunchie you accidentally stole from rory keeping your hair out of your eyes.
your book of choice today was ‘harry potter and the goblet of fire’ , the most recently released chapter of the boy wizard’s adventures at hogwarts. the clock beside you read 9:15 as you comfied yourself for a morning of magic and adventure, which naturally was ended a mere 8 minutes later at 9:23 when the doorbell rang downstairs. you assumed your mother would answer it, but when it rang a second time you remembered your parents had both gone out to watch your sibling’s soccer match and you’d have to get it yourself.
it didn’t even cross your mind to put pants on, or that it may not be the postman at the door, until you opened it to see your very favourite chilton student whose eyes had hastily wandered to your bare legs. typical high school boy, you thought to yourself before your brain actually grasped the situation and kick started into action.
‘tristan. hi.’ you said with a slight shock in your voice.
‘erm, hi. i hope i’m not interrupting anything,’ he smirked, glancing down at your thighs again.
you rolled your eyes so aggressively you hoped mr medina could hear it from wherever he was spending his day, irritating boy-less and free to do whatever he wanted with his time.
‘you’re not,’ you quipped. ‘i just didn’t expect you to actually show up this time. and early may i add, i’m sure we said 11.’
‘we did, but i’ve got plans later so i thought i’d come by earlier and get this over with.’
‘how did you know i didn’t have plans? i might have been busy before 11.’
he pulled a face of amusement and you could swear you saw a hint of sarcasm shining through his eyes too. ‘right. are you done talking now or can i come in?’
‘you can come in, i guess,’ you sighed, closing the door behind him and showing him to the kitchen table. ‘wait here, i’ll go and get my books.’
‘grab some pants whilst you’re at it.’
‘stop talking,’ you called as you walked upstairs.
you came back downstairs a few minutes later fully-clothed and carrying your english notes to see that tristan had wandered from the chair you specifically remembered telling him to sit in, and was instead tracing a finger along the bookcase that stretched across the far wall of your living room. for a moment you just watched him nosey into your life; the framed certificates, the family photos, the 5 tapes of ‘beauty and the beast’ stacked atop of each other because it was your favourite film when you were 9 and practically every living relative had bought you a copy. beside those was a picture of you dressed as princess belle at disneyworld with chocolate ice cream smeared from cheek to cheek, a huge smile plastered between. tristan picked it up and turned to face you.
‘thoroughly adorable. seriously, you should go for this look more often.’
‘ha ha,’ you grimaced, snatching it off him and placing it back on the shelf. ‘are we studying or reminiscing on my past fashion choices?’
‘oo, someone’s in a good mood this morning huh,’ he teased. you pulled another face, once again silently cursing mr medina for completely ruining not just your day, but in fact your whole week. by god this boy got more irritating the more time you spent with him- it had only been 10 minutes, but it was 10 minutes longer than you ever previously had or ever wanted to.
‘can i get a drink before we start?’ he asked, redirecting the conversation and walking past you back into the kitchen. he began opening various cupboards, searching for a glass. ‘where’s the-’
‘why yes, tristan. you can have a drink,’ you snarked, opening the cupboard behind him with a dramatic flourish. he raised his eyebrows at you and reached forward to grab a glass, leaning over you as he did so. you caught a whiff of his cologne and almost forgot to dislike him for a moment.
‘there’s, um, soda in the ... fridge,’ you told him, voice unwillingly faltering as he looked down to meet your eyes. he had pretty eyes. pretty, blue, sparkling, stupid, annoying, asshole eyes.
you found the thick tension sickening. you refused to be another girl at school who simply swooned over him when he walked past your locker. you didn't like him. you were here to teach him english. because he was dumb. and actually, his eyes weren’t that nice.
he grabbed a soda out of the fridge and you both sat down at the table and began reading through your analysis of ‘to kill a mockingbird’, adamantly pretending not to see him staring at you the whole time.
why? he had had every popular and pretty girl in the whole of chilton, how was he ever so starved of female attention that he would look at you so admirably when you liked to make it clear you despised him? in fact, you enjoyed making a special effort to flip him off, or pull a face at him when he walked by, or kick his chair extra hard in spanish, or... oh shit. you had seen it from an outside point of view now, and it was glaringly obvious; maybe you did like him, just a little bit. shit. rory owed lorelai 10$ and a cheeseburger from luke’s, though you didn’t want to have to admit she was right when she’d said you were like a kindergarten boy pulling a girl’s ponytails because he thought she was pretty.
‘hey tristan,’ you started, breaking the comfortable silence between his questions and suddenly nervous to talk to him. stupid, it was still the exact same boy you’d been complaining about all week, nothing new.
he looked up from your notes. ‘what’s up princess?’
that was definitely new.
‘don’t call me princess’ -he smirked irritatingly- ‘do you need to stay much longer? i mean, is there anything else you want help with?’
‘trying to get rid of me?’
‘no! no. i just thought that you’d only stay and pretend to listen to me for like, half an hour then vanish. it’s 11:30 and you’ve been through my whole binder.’
‘it is? time flies.’
‘tristan.’
‘i do care about my grades, you know. and you’re a good teacher, i might have a chance at an A.’
‘why didn't you show up the last 6 times we planned then?’
he put down his pen- your pen, actually. it had pink sparkles on the lid. ‘got to keep up my street cred.’
‘ha ha. funny,’ you replied as blankly as possible, pulling back a smile you could feel in your stomach. you made eye contact again and, like every other time since you’d sat down and started studying, you held each other’s gaze for longer than necessary. funny how realising you like someone makes you suddenly act like it.
‘i should get going then right,’ he said, picking his jacket from the back of his chair.
you felt weird, almost as if you didn't want him to leave after praying earlier he wouldn't show up. alas, your parents would be home soon and you would be willing to bet money that tristan would have some interesting jokes about your being home alone that would not slide with your dad.
‘yeah. i hope you get that A,’ you said, accidentally smiling as you walked him to the door.
tristan turned to lean on the frame of the now-open door and put on a face of mock surprise. ‘my, my, y/n. was that a kind comment and a smile? you’re spoiling me.’
‘shut up, i hope you fail.’
he smiled back. ‘you really mean that?’
‘i guess not.’
there was yet another beat of heavy silence.
‘see you monday.’
‘see you monday.’
you closed the front door as he walked down the drive, but noticed tristan’s car keys still sat on the kitchen table. a porsche, of course. you picked them up and reopened the door to his fist poised to knock. the two of you laughed awkwardly for a second.
‘i forgot my-’
‘you forgot your-’
another awkward laugh. jesus christ this was uncomfortable. you passed him the keys, and with absolutely no warning at all, your lips were suddenly met with his. they were soft and confident, and his free hand held your face as you tried to process the new situation. you quickly melted into the kiss, letting him take control until he pulled away and smiled that sparkly smile you didn't hate as much as you tried to.
‘didn't see that one coming,’ you said breathily, brushing some loose hairs off of your face.
‘i knew you didn’t hate me.’
‘ever the arrogant twat.’
‘hey, does this mean you’ll stop kicking my chair in spanish?’
‘absolutely not. in fact, i think i’ll kick it harder.’
‘as long as you let me do that again.’

An Ever Fixed Mark (arranged marriage Au)
Part 1 is here, finally! Title a reference to Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116.
Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10
Read it on Ao3 HERE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vesemir’s slap hit Geralt firmly on the back of the head. Two seconds previously Geralt had been complaining about his upcoming, politically motivated marriage to some nobleman’s son.
“It’s a good thing, lad. Other witcher schools would kill for something like this,” he said. Geralt knew it was right, legal punishment for those who shortchanged or attacked witchers. It set a precedent, and apparently the earl was very influential. It could change things.
“And there isn’t a fidelity clause,” Eskel said. “It doesn’t have to be more than a sort of partnership.”
“No consummation requirement either,” sniggered Lambert from the other side of the campfire. “You don’t even have to fuck the bugger if he’s ugly.” This earned him a sharp elbow from Eskel.
“What I don’t understand is what they get out of this,” Geralt said. It had been bugging him.
“Ah,” Vesemir said, looking uneasy. “It seems that the payment is...taking the viscount off of the Earl’s hands, officially. It seems he’s something of an embarrassment.”
The unease in Vesemir’s voice was subtle, but after so many decades with their teacher, the wolves of Kaer Morhen knew the slight variations of tone and expression. His discomfort was twofold, first, the obvious implication that the Earl was sending his son to live a dangerous life alongside a witcher in order to...deal with him. A death sentence, from father to son. The second was that Geralt, already saddled with a political marriage, was also to be saddled with a nuisance of a husband.
“But why me?” Geralt knew he was whining like a child, but he couldn’t help it. It was three days to Lettenhove, and then they’d be there at least a week for the wedding and he’d have to act courtly.
He wasn’t good at courtly.
When he thought about it none of them were.
“It couldn’t have been me,” Eskel said, a little shyly. He was right. Eskel believed his scars were horrible, made him unlovable and undesirable. Geralt didn’t buy it, but nobles could get a bit stroppy about appearances. And if they humiliated Eskel because of his scarring...no, Geralt wouldn’t let that happen.
“Couldn’t have been me,” Lambert said, mouth full and rather cheerfully. No. It couldn’t have been him either, no manners and no filter, they’d be at war with the entirety of Lettenhove within a day.
“And I’m an old man,” Vesemir said. He didn’t actually wink, but he might as well have. Older though he was, he was still three times the warrior of any young human man walking about these days. But from what Geralt had heard, and it hadn’t been much, the Viscount was young, not quite twenty, and it wouldn’t be kind to marry him to someone so much older than himself. Geralt reflected grimly that he was nearly four times the youth’s age.
Three days of riding passed far too quickly for Geralt’s liking.
Chateau de Lettenhove loomed. It was a fairytale castle built by a man expecting a siege. There were high, rising towers with huge windows and artful buttresses, but to the trained eye of the witchers, it was a fortress. The towers had carved, decorative arrow slits, the windows all had iron grates over them, wrought like lace, and the buttresses could be easily used as defensive positions. All in all, it was a castle that growled, albeit genteelly.
They were greeted first by a footman, and then a line of servants increasing in rank, until a very snobby servant, likely the head housekeeper from the way all the maids scuttled away from her, brought them to an anteroom. At this point courtesy dictated that she bade them sit down on one of the lavish sofas. She did not. She chose instead to turn up her nose and sweep away.
The four witchers remained standing, not looking at one another. Geralt could feel Lambert stewing about the obvious slight beside him. He reached out, still staring straight ahead, and tweaked Lambert’s ear.
This was about to result in much brotherly retribution and probably a brawl when the housekeeper returned, followed by another woman.
“His lordship the Earl of Lettenhove is attending to vital business,” the housekeeper said, tone of voice implying that the arrival of four witchers who were muddying her nice clean floor were certainly not vital. “I present, her ladyship, Countess Amaria Elizaveta de Lettenhove.”
The countess curtsied, it was a polite little bob, and she smiled a little dazedly as the witchers all gave their best attempt at courtly bows. A small but significant part of Geralt’s brain was panicking, and it dealt with this new form of terror by imagining that the school of the wolf, seen from the outside plying their newly practiced bows, must look like a line of seagulls vying for a dropped crumb.
Vesemir stepped forward and, in a rather more suave gesture than Geralt had been expecting, took the Countess’ hand and bowed over it. Two bows seemed excessive to Geralt, but since it seemed to indicate that Vesemir would be taking over the speaking for now, he certainly wasn’t about to bring it up.
“A pleasure to meet you, my lady,” Vesemir said, straightening and releasing her hand. “May I introduce the school of the wolf. Eskel is--”
The countess had waved a limp hand. “Plenty of time for that at the feast, deary,” she said, smiling dreamily. There was something in her eyes that was a little absent, possibly more than a little if her calling Vesemir ‘deary’ was anything to go by. Geralt looked the countess over. He had been given to understand through the brief letters from the Lettenhove estate, that this wasn’t the viscount-Julian, the letters said-’s mother, but rather his step mother. She was a petite lady with mousy hair and rather absent blue eyes. Her dress was obviously of very fine material, rose pink and probably silk, although Lambert would know better than him, but a simpler cut than Geralt had expected.
His examination, done in a split second, decided that she wasn’t an immediate enemy, but probably not a terrible useful ally.
“I’m to give you this courting gift,” here she proffered a small but beautifully carved wooden box. “And to show you to your quarters.” She smiled again, and it was warm, but still vapid.
“Custom usually dictates that the fiancé give the courting gift,” Vesemir said, cautiously taking the box.”
“My husband wanted someone else to present it,” she said. “But your grandson can give his gift in person when he meets Julian. Now what...” she trailed off, not even noticing Vesemir’s slight sputter at grandson. “Ah yes, your rooms, right this way please.”
She got lost on the way to their rooms and a shaking footman showed them up to a suite, then kindly took her by the hand and led her away.
They sat, silent, in the nice but not lavish quarters. Four beds in curtained alcoves off to the side, and in the middle a room with a table and chairs, and a sofa and more comfortable chairs in front of a fireplace. It was already blazing and the witchers stared into it for a minute.
“That was strange,” Eskel finally said, and the others just nodded.
“Should I have insisted on giving her our courting gift?” Geralt said after another pause. “I thought they were usually given in person.”
“I think you’re fine,” Vesemir said. “If they broke that tradition they can hardly fault you for doing the same.”
Lambert, sprawled across the sofa, said, “When’s dinner?”
“I think I’m supposed to meet Julian first,” Geralt said. “Someone will probably come get us.
“When we meet Julian you mean,” Lambert said, sitting up.
“No, I’ve been thinking about that and I want to meet him alone.”
Vesemir nodded, “Sensible, we don’t know how he will react to one witcher, let alone four.” Then he smirked, although not unkindly, at Lambert. “You will be introduced and have a chance to be nosy later. At dinner perhaps.”
They unpacked their belongings, potion bottles and swords looking out of place along the old but nicely carved furniture. After days of tension on the road as Geralt wound himself tighter and tighter with anxiety for his...wedding, yes his wedding, now this pause was jarring. Eskel tapped him on the shoulder and gave him a look.
Geralt turned around to give Eskel room to work.
On the Path, witchers are rarely, if ever touched. Certainly not in a friendly way if the other isn’t being compensated. It wasn’t therefore, unusual for the wolves of Kaer Morhen to be tactile with one another. Not hugging and cuddling sweetly, but rough housing and wrestling ending in exhausted dog piles. But Eskel had a gift, he had magic hands, literally and figuratively, and he carefully oiled his hands while Geralt took off his travel stained shirt.
Geralt sunk into himself, half meditating as Eskel dragged the tension from his shoulders and beat the knots from his muscles. It wasn’t a relaxing massage, but it always left him feeling like liquid, if slightly bruised. When it was over and the liquid feeling had left him, or at least subsided enough that his knees could hold him, he stood, clapping Eskel on the shoulder in thanks.
Then came the hard bit.
Geralt needed to be courtly. He scrubbed the bits he could with water and a cloth from a little washstand, but he hoped he could have a hot bath later. Afterwards Vesemir advanced on him and battled the dirt from underneath his fingernails with a stiff brush before attacking his hair with a comb. Geralt sat on the ground like a child, his brothers looking on in amusement as Vesemir sat behind him on the couch and teased the tangles from his hair. He was making faces, he knew, but Vesemir wasn’t gentle, and he hadn’t detangled his hair in some time.
Scrubbed raw, with his hair floating around his shoulders like a silver cloud, Lambert presented him with a doublet.
It was black, which was good.
That was the only good thing about it. It was most likely a very nice, extremely fashionable doublet. Lambert might take delight in embarrassing Geralt, but he didn’t mess about with clothing. The issue was that it was attention grabbing, it was subtle in a way that seemed to play itself down while actually drawing every eye. It was black, in the same way a raven’s wing was black, every shimmering shade shifting as the fabric moved.
And he would be wearing it.
He did wear it.
His hands shook as he buttoned it up.
He was just examining himself in a slightly tarnished hand mirror when there was a sharp knock at the door. The footman let himself in right after and bowed swiftly.
“I am to escort the witchers of Kaer Morhen to meet Lord Julian.”
“Just the one witcher,” Geralt said. Vesemir pressed his courting gift, and the little carved boxed nestled on top, into his arms.
The footman didn’t seem to care and simply turned away, leading Geralt through hallways that all looked the same and down two very winding staicases, the second of which was so narrow his shoulders actually brushed the walls. They stopped outside a plain wooden door. The footman bowed and smiled. It looked, Geralt couldn’t help but feel, rather cruel. Then he left. Geralt knocked softly on the door, feeling very large in the narrow, low ceilinged hallway.
Eskel had told him once of a myth he had read, about a beast, half man half bull, hidden away in a maze. Geralt felt like such a beast, too large and rough and probably going to barge in and do everything wrong.
“Come in.”
It was soft, but not nervous, and Geralt pushed open the door.

Oooh I’m naughty for leaving it there, but it’s almost 2000 words already. @llamasdumpsterfire here it is at last, I hope it lives up to expectations.

PPG One-Shot: Spelling Bee (Brick/Blossom)
Happy birthday to @genovah! She is always inspiring me to come up with more PPG content, a true hero. I’m back with another entry in the ongoing Shooketh, Not Stirred high school AU Reds series for your entertainment. As always, this can be read alone, but it happens in the same universe as part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, and part 5. This is also posted on my AO3.
Summary: Brick and Blossom hunker down in the library to study for the upcoming regional spelling bee.
***Reblogs are extremely appreciated, since this probably won’t show up in the tags due to cursing. Thank you! <3

In fairness, Brick had come to the library during his free period with the pure intention to learn. And he was certainly learning something. But somewhere between sliding into his seat opposite Blossom and watching her lips move around insouciant as if it were a strawberry slathered in ganache, his purity was torn from his weak, teenage boy fingers and there was absolutely no going back.
“Brick, are you listening to me?” She touched his hand across the table.
“Yup.”
“Did you need me to repeat the word?”
“Yup.”
“In-SOO-see-uhnt.” She sounded it out slowly, and hand to god, that dominating SOO went straight to his cock.
This, of course, was fine.
“Origin?” he asked.
She twirled her hair around her finger and puckered her lips. “French.”
Fuck.
“I…”
Blossom mistook his increasingly horny stupor for plain old stupor and sighed. “Are you even trying? Because if I didn’t know better, I’d say you were completely fine with Darla Dimpleton going to regionals instead of one of us.”
“I am not fine with that.”
Darla Dimpleton was an unassuming, unthreatening nobody with the personality of plain oatmeal. Brick would never have even bothered to learn her name had she not committed the cardinal sin of scoring so much extra credit while everyone else was busy having lives that she stole the number one GPA right from under him. Which meant she stole it from under Blossom too. Which meant Brick was no longer a respectable silver medal to Blossom’s gold, but currently ranked third and therefor merely happy to be on the podium at all (and for the record, no one has ever been happy merely to be on the podium, just like no one has ever been happy winning Most Improved: you sucked, and now you suck a little less. Except this time, you actually suck more because Darla fucking Dimpleton decided to Quaker Oats her way to the top of this rat race that doesn’t actually matter, but it’s the principle of the thing, i.e., the only thing that matters.).
All of this to say, Darla Dimpleton was the Worst™ and she was one hundred percent going down.
“Are you sure? Because you’re being awfully cavalier about this. Some might even call you insouciant.”
It was a testament to Brick’s powerful fondness for winning and being seen doing it that he spelled insouciant in one Darla Dimpleton-shaped cock blocking breath.
Blossom smiled like she knew something. “Much better.”
Yeah, she knows a lot of things.
The problem with dating, Brick was convinced, was that suddenly the mundane became extraordinary. Everyday experiences that he had previously taken for granted—flying around Townsville, enjoying a cup of coffee, thwarting his sometimes murderous demonic overlord from distributing incriminating polaroids, that sort of thing—were suddenly exciting, thrilling even. Because now he got to do those things with Blossom, and Blossom was cool in a smarmy, elitist sort of way that both softened his heart and hardened his dick all at the same time, and that was kind of A Lot to deal with at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday.
“All right, do me,” Blossom said, and Brick coughed so badly his aforementioned weak, teenage boy fingers shook to stifle himself.
Mercy, he thought, probably. But all his blood was rushing south and it was going to take a supernatural willpower to get through these words so that one of them could beat the upstart porridge peasant to this year’s regional spelling bee.
“You’re the boss,” he said, because it was true, and also because he liked the way she looked at him when he said it. Like he was now the ganache-coated strawberry in this overextended metaphor that he was too laden with Homeric concupiscence being in her general proximity to unpack.
Concupiscence, there’s a ten dollar word for you, you horny genius.
He made a mental note to brag to Blossom about this later.
“Okay, let’s see…” Brick made a show of organizing the flashcards so that she wouldn’t see him discreetly re-situate his pants under the table. “Your word is cymotrichous.”
Blossom tapped her lips, and Brick found himself sympathizing with the Puritans in their absolute befuddlement over the libidinous effect of women having lips. Witchcraft, surely. “Could you use it in a sentence for me?”
Compelled entirely by black magic and therefor not responsible for his imminently questionable choices, Brick obliged her with: “Thinking about how I’d rather run my fingers through your cymotrichous hair for the rest of free period instead of sit here spelling words no one’s ever heard of.”
Blossom, who he was dead certain was extremely thirsty for him and had been for years long before they ever reconciled their rivalry, leaned over the desk separating them. Her hair, long and loose and indeed quite wavy today, was tempting. “Brick, are you flirting with me?”
It was a well-known fact of being a Weak-Fingered, Teenage Boy that one must never reveal such weakness, especially not in front of one’s girlfriend. On the other hand, co-opting said weakness and rebranding it as the suave truth was galaxy brain levels of flirting. And Brick, as has already been established, was a horny genius. “Yup.” He leaned in to meet her, and he twirled her hair between his fingers because they were weak for her, indeed. “How am I doing?”
Blossom, too determined to let her thirst deter her from her goal of sweet, academic retribution and bragging rights, tapped a finger to his lips. “Great. But we have so many words to spell, and only thirty minutes left to do them all. So get shuffling, stud.”
Well, he could work with that. One thing that made his relationship with Blossom work very well was their insatiable competitiveness. Whether they were whaling on each other over an empty parking lot, debating the efficacy of post-its as a note-taking device, or combining their powers to Captain Planet a cornmeal know-it-all back down the leaderboard where she belonged, they were relentless glory chasers. And the greater the challenge, the more they enjoyed the experience and each other.
Blossom spelled her word perfectly, by the way. She stretched out the o-u-s at the end in a bewitching little whisper as she pulled away and her hair slipped through his fingers. That moment when the light changes and the temperature shifts and you’re weightless in a state of existential anticipation of something monumental about to happen, but not quite? That happened. Thirty minutes to explore the shape of that anticipation was enough time to taste it but not enough to savor it. Which, Brick supposed, was about to make this the best thirty minutes he was likely going to get all week.
“Are you ready?” Blossom watched him from behind the card she’d drawn. She had a glint in her eyes that told him she was smiling behind that card.
“Anytime.”
“Your word is eudaemonic.”
That fucking gorgeous ooh again.
“Define it.”
Blossom flushed as though he had just ordered her to bend over. She bit her lip (it must have been a ten Hail Mary’s kind of day when the Witch-Finder General caught a flesh and blood woman doing that with her improbably sorcerous lips) and grinned. “It means producing happiness. Based on the idea of happiness as the proper end of conduct.”
Producing happiness, which is proper, much like how Blossom came off as proper and even prim around adults, when really she was the most fun, most confident, most person he’d ever met, especially when she was spelling in that chiffon top (son of a bitch, that was a great top on her), and the only conduct he was interested in was of the happiest kind.
“Oh.” His throat clenched, and then his stomach twisted, and then his pants grew little too tight again in a full-body chain reaction that began and ended with a fierce determination not to give in first even though it would mean release because release would be meaningless without this etymological tête-à-tête.
Don’t think about tête-à-têtes.
Seventeenth century, noun, borrowed from the French meaning literally “head to head” (please, please stop hurting yourself like this).
“Brick?”
Brick cleared his throat. “Yup. Got it. E-u-d…”
Crisis averted, Brick picked the next card and promptly choked on his own tongue. Blossom made a show like she was concerned and are you all right? and please drink some water. Brick drank her water, which of course she had had her anatomically heretical lips on earlier, which was just fantastic for him. Tuesday fucking morning.
Milieu was her word.
“Milieu, hmm.” Blossom’s smile was spellbinding, which was a pun because he punned when he panicked. “Origin?”
You bitch, he thought, and be cool, and also, witchcraft.
Brick leaned back in his chair, slipped his trembling hands in his pockets, and squeezed every ounce of anything you can do I can do better into a winsome grin. “French.”
Blossom’s adult-facing façade cracked like an egg, and he got a glimpse of the raw delight she felt for this game, for the words, and for him for making it happen. For cultivating the electric milieu, if you will, currently driving them both into a state of impassioned, competitive euphoria at 9:42 a.m. in the library.
“Right, um…” She stumbled over her words, and Brick had to restrain himself from crowing for joy and risk the rheumy-eyed librarian coming to scold them.
By the time they got through another set of words, they were each visibly frustrated and doubly turned on by the other’s masochistic resolve not to throw in the towel.
“Okay, ready for another round?”
She wasn’t even trying to hide her intentions now, and that was just fine with Brick. “Of course.”
One more.
If it was another French word, he was fucking done.
“Really?” Blossom truly had ice in her veins for the way she was able to school her face then. He couldn’t read her, and that was very bad.
If it’s another fucking French word…
He could be over the desk and on her faster than you could say concupiscence.
“Okay.” Blossom set down the flashcard she’d drawn and folded her hands on the table. She looked him dead in the eye licked her lips. “Succedaneum.”
The bookshelf shook but Brick’s fingers didn’t as they pinned Blossom’s over a Dewey Decimal-stamped spine and he kissed her with all the horny passion of a teenage genius who would make a note to thank the devil for giving women lips. One of his better ideas.

“Hey, has anyone seen Blossom? I’ve sent her, like, four texts!” Bubbles shoved her phone, open to the ignored texts in question, in her sister’s face. “She was supposed to help me with Chem homework.”
Buttercup ducked. “No, and watch where you’re swinging that thing.”
“I saw her earlier,” Boomer said. “She was with Brick coming out of first period.”
“Oh, yeah.” Mike slung his arm around Boomer’s shoulders. “Don’t they both have a free period right now?”
Buttercup rolled her eyes. “What a scam. Whoever decided to give the A-students free periods while the rest of us mere mortals gotta slave away is a straight-up Supervillain.”
Boomer snapped his fingers. “Hey, I just remembered! They both decided to compete for the spot at the regional spelling bee this year. I bet that’s what they’re doing.”
“God, that’s the saddest thing I have ever heard in my life. That’s a new low even for Blossom.”
“I heard there’s a cash prize for the regional winner,” Bubbles said. “It’s like twenty thousand bucks! Remember, everyone in school signed up and we had to have that assembly to narrow it down?”
“Twenty thou— How the tits did I miss that?!”
“I mean, it was all over the school,” Mike said. “We signed up too.”
“What? And no one thought to tell me I could’ve won the lottery?”
Boomer chuckled. “Dude, come on. You wouldn’t have stood a chance in hell against Darla Dimpleton.”
“Who?”
Bubbles cast Boomer a not worth it look, and he just sighed. “So, if they’re studying for the spelling bee, do you think they’re in the library?”
At that moment, Butch came bursting down the hall a little too fast to be human. Open lockers rattled on their hinges as he passed, and a Sophomore girl’s binder went flying, scattering looseleaf papers everywhere. Buttercup looked ready to punch him in the dick for breaking the no powers in school rule. “Guys, you’re gonna shit!”
“Calm down before you blow a load, Jesus Christ.” Buttercup yanked him back down to the floor so he wouldn’t spontaneously float.
Sensibly, Boomer asked, “Why?”
“‘Cause Brick and Blossom are making out in the library right now!”
Mike cringed. “Oh, come on.”
“The hell they are,” Buttercup said.
Bubbles smiled. “Good for them.”
“I’m serious! There were books everywhere, and the noise—”
“Oh look, there goes my dignity. Better catch it before it gets away. C’mon, moron.” Buttercup dragged Butch down the hall over his protests. “What were you even doing in the library? I didn’t think you knew where it was…”
“Like that could ever happen,” Mike said. “Those two wouldn’t waste a minute of study time if it means beating out the competition.”
Boomer did not look so convinced. “I don’t know. I mean, they’re officially, for real dating now,”—“Finally!” Mike interjected—“so it’s not that unbelievable.”
The bell for the next period rang. Bubbles groaned thinking of stewing for an hour of Chem. At least she shared that class with Boomer and would not have to suffer alone. They parted from Mike and walked together through the throng of students rushing to get to their next period.
“Hey, do you think…”
“I mean…” Boomer shrugged.
They rounded the corner and nearly ran into Blossom dashing to her next class with a rushed “Got your texts talk later bye!” before she disappeared into the crowd.
Bubbles whirled on Boomer. “Did you see her buttons—”
“Completely uneven—”
The late bell rang and made them jump. Among the last stragglers, they both dashed a bit too fast to get to class and made it to their seats just as Mr. Micelli finished writing a problem on the board.
Boomer winked when she caught his eye a couple desks away from hers, and it took everything she had not to laugh.
“Good for her,” Bubbles said to herself.
“You are late,” Mr. Micelli said.
Everyone turned to watch Brick sink into his seat, his short hair totally askew and looking healthily flushed for a Tuesday morning.
Boomer burst out laughing and needed a whole minute to calm down.
He’d tell her later that the detention was worth it.

How to get away with murder?
Prompt used- Sitting on others lap | harry and draco get's assigned for a murder mystery as pretend boyfriends | TW- torture | ENEMIES TO LOVER |
" no Simon, get the hell out of here " robard yelled walking into the room
"now, my favourite aurors " robard grinned as he settled down in his office chair in front of his two employees.
" greetings robard " harry nodded
" morning " the other one greeted
" right, greetings can go on for hours. Now the actual reason I sufficed you here. This particular case has been up by from other aurors as their inability to actually being able to sort it and who better than you two. Cutting to the chase, you know I don't like to waste time. You two are going to work on this case together-"
" with draco, no way-"
" with harry, no way-"
They both glared at each other, narrowing their eyes.
" now now, don't kill each other right here. I know how much you two hate each other but this case is important for DMLE. The truth is you both have strengths which if put together can be put to greater use. Draco is great at analysing situations, detecting potions and previously casted magic and you harry, dear you're fast, you're smooth talker, your wand less magic, and your instincts. All of your traits can so easily solve this case and I want your heads in for that" robard looked at both of them expectedly.
" come on, give me an answer. It's your last case harry, it's all chase and fun " robard insisted
" you're leaving DMLE ?" Draco turned to harry. Harry nodded without Daring to look at him.
" finally understood you don't stand a chance here-"
" as you please Malfoy. I've caught more people than you ever have " harry rolled his eyes
" see this is why I chose you. Your determination-"
" will you stop with the ass licking robard. I'll do it but I must insist at places I'd like to work alone " harry sighed
" same for me. I like to have my space " draco replied.
" well it's settled then. You're in the case for Gary oakman " robard clapped his hands lightly, passing them the files he had fetched before hand. Picking up the files harry and draco almost left the room when robard stopped them.
" oh and you're going to be pretend boyfriends. Do your best, good luck " robard grinned and shut the door on their faces.
" what-"
" what -"
They both looked at each other with morbid shock.
__________________________
Harry pinched his nose tiredly as they went through the case together " I hate this case "
" tell me about it , this man didn't even have had that much money, no heir to pass onto, no wife or anything yet he's murdered " draco sighed as he leaned back into his chair.
" the bigger part is, no culprits, no victims "
" we do have a witness though, the house maid. Rosy I suppose " draco skimmed over her details.
Harry looked at the watch knowing he had stayed in his office for far longer than he normally did " anyways, I'm going to head home. We have to be there tomorrow so the packing. I suggest you do that too "
Draco looks at harry, then at the clock in the wall " in a few " and harry nodded before walking out.
The next morning they met in front of the ministry
" I want you two at the best behavior and I mean it " robard insisted
" I'll try my best to be on the best behavior with my fake boyfriend james " harry rolled his eyes as he checked his coat pockets for everything.
" can I still do the case individually?" Draco rolled his eyes
" draco, trust me, I have thought this through and you would do best at the disposal of your resources " robard sighed as he shook hands with both of them " off you go now. Don't forget to revise your history "
And with that harry and draco sat inside the car.
" I'm so excited " draco sarcastically scowled
" it would be a pleasure to work with you " harry narrowed his eyes at Draco equally sarcastically.
As obvious, they didn't talk through the journey, knowing that if conversed they would want to rip each other heads off. So they Only talked hurriedly when they reached the manor.
" you're james , I'm Derek. We've been together for 2 years, right ?" Harry reassured
" much to my displeasure " draco rolled his eyes as he took down his bags from the car
" best behavior my ass " harry sneered under his breath as he took out his own bags and waited for draco to join him towards the door.
" huh, I'm sure you could never afford such manor " draco said as he dragged his bags towards harry.
" funnily enough draco, I am the owner of a manor since I was 17. Jokes on you " harry grinned sarcastically as he walked forwards towards the gate.
" oh and by the way, I'm far more rich than you are considering I donate a lot of money to orphanages and such. Good deeds. But what would you know about it " harry smiled sharply. It fueled draco how Harry was insulting him with a smile, but man he wasn't lying.
" shall we put this banters aside and finally get to business ?" Harry asked at last. Draco nodded and suddenly the Manor's door opened and they met, Rosy, the housemaid.
" oh my darlings, you are finally here. We've been waiting for you for an hour. Heavy traffic huh ?" She smiled
" it was a little bit of traffic. You see my beautiful boyfriend, he got up a bit late. Sorry about the inconvenience " harry replied as he pulled draco towards him and intertwined their fingers.
" I'm really sorry, that's just me " draco smiled at the lady.
" no matter, no matter. You can leave the bags, the bell boys will take these. Shall we walk inside then ?" She asked with a warm smile
" of course. Shall we james ?" Harry asked draco as he swiftly pulled him more closer to vanish any suspicions.
" of course Darling " draco swore he threw up a little In his mouth.
And they walked towards the main door with harry appreciating the gardens and the vines and talking about the architecture of the windows and doors from the 1960s.
" we'll let you freshen up then. This would be your room. And since you're a couple we thought you wouldn't need two separate rooms, right ?" Rosy asked expectedly
" oh- no no of course not. We share the same room and trust me Ms. Rosy If you had given us separate rooms, I would've been in his room all the time " harry chuckled.
" well then it's no inconvenience. Your bags are already up here. The lunch is at 2, and then we'll give you the house tour. Oh and yes, that area is out of bounds " Rosy cheekily smiled and walked away.
Harry kept smiling until they had reached the room and closed the door behind him and draco immediately jerked his hands off harry..
" wow, I love my boyfriend " Harry sarcastically said.
" what was the hand holding for ?" Draco sneered
" uh- draco, couple's normally do that and if you want to be done with the case as soon as possible, you too have to do couple things even if you hate it. It's important that we raise no suspicions at all. One suspicion and we're dead, alright " harry explained as he took off his shoes and lined it up up on the rack.
Draco hated to admit but harry was right " I think it'd be better if we didn't use our actual names too then and- muffalito- use protection charms all the time "
Harry raised an eyebrow at Draco impressively " guess robard wasn't all wrong about you then "
Draco rolled his eyes at harry and disposed off his extra clothes onto the chair.
" I'll take the shower first " draco announced and went into the bathroom.
Harry didn't had time to react but couldn't even if he wanted to, knowing draco was still a huge pain in the ass.
_________________________
" how are you going to transfigure ?" Draco asked harry as he got ready for the actual investigation
" polyjuice potion " harry replied not even looking at Draco sitting over the study going through the reports.
" you do know it's effect only lasts 3 hours ?" Draco asked
" believe me d- james- I have taken polyjuice potion much more than it would be recommended to for a child" harry huffs as he put his auror coat in the suitcase and transfiguring it into a smaller bag.
" right, of course, the saviour had to do a lot to save us from the chambers of secret's " draco rolled his eyes and turned back to his reports.
" here take this coin. If you need me, just write on it.. not that we'd be far away anyways" harry said as he tossed the coin at Draco.
" how does it work ?" He asked
" just- I have another set of it. If you write something on it, I'll know it too. I used this back in DA meetings at school " harry double checked his pockets walking around in the room looking for his wand.
" clever " draco impressively frowned " here, your wand "
" thanks. And remember, don't raise suspicions" harry told Draco.
Rolling his eyes draco agreed and harry finally left the manor after greeting Rosy, getting ready to get back here again after transformation.
Harry returned half an hour later with his small team Including Ron and getting on with the investigation.
" Rosy, what's this all about ?" He heard someone ask as harry was standing just before the crime scene caution sign talking about the evidences found.
" oh, it's nothing. It was master's old bedroom. Mr. Gary. He passed away a couple weeks ago. These people think it's a murder and just barge in to investigate " Rosy sighed
" well that's too bad. My condolences Rosy. We hadn't known about it " draco sympathetically patted her back softly. Smiling to himself, harry got on with the investigation once again.
At night when harry had finally come back with reports and evidence he was met with a just out of shower draco.
" the water's still warm if you want to" draco told him as he softly patted towel over his head.
Harry nodded, dumping his reports and jackets over the chair and getting in the bathroom, smelling like Lavender and cinnamon.
It only took him 15 minutes in shower when he got out forgetting he didn't had his clothes.
" hey ma- james, can you pass me my clothes on the chair ?" Harry poked his head out of the bathroom.
He could've sworn he heard draco swear under his breath insulting harry.
" I can't find it, just come and take it yourself" draco called out.
Shrugging harry wrapped the towel around his lower body and got out of the bathroom, into the room to find his clothes.
" I left them h-"
" oh- I'm so sorry" Rosy had suddenly entered the room, turning her head in shame
" it's alright rosy. We- we just you know got out of the shower " harry gave her a little firm smile as he covered up his body with another towel.
" I- I'm really sorry. I will leave you two to it. Just bought some tea" she said without looking at them
" it's alright, leave them there, we'll call you if we need something " draco gave her a smile as he stepped closer to harry, putting his hand over Harry's shoulder in a physical gesture.
She nodded and embarrassingly left the room.
" just put on a damn shirt now, will you " draco rolled his eyes as he immediately created space between them.
" oh- I did not know that. I was planning on staying naked for the rest of the evening " harry rolled his eyes as he tried searching for his shirt until he saw draco.
" you're wearing my shirt "
" wha- oh. I didn't realise " draco looked down at his own blue shirt " no wonder it smells like shit"
Harry rolled his eyes " keep wearing it, I'll get myself another one " and he picked out another maroon shirt from the bag and wore it right there in the room.
" ahem- anyways, you got anything over the case ?" Draco asked turning around, giving harry his privacy.
" not a great deal. We would still have to go through every inch of that room and let me tell you, that rooms huge " harry huffed as he finally put on his pants and retrieved the files.
" here, these are the pictures I took today" harry displayed it over the table draco was sat on, ruffling his hair to dry them.
" wow- that's one- ha- stop dripping water over me "
" oh right- sorry" and Harry picked the towel again, drying his hair.
By the night, they decided to finally make an appearance downstairs for dinner.
" oh, I thought you'd had liked it in your room " rosy smiled
"we just thought it'd be nice to have dinner downstairs" harry smiled as he walked along with draco
" right, on the table then " she said and they made themselves comfortable over the dinner table.
" it's better than your manor " harry whispered to draco once they had settled in their Chairs. Draco narrowed his eyes at harry, giving him a scowl.
" here you go dears " rosy said as she placed plates one after the another.
" enjoy-"
" why don't you stay too. We'd like to get to know you, don't you think Derek ?" Draco asked smiling gently
" I think that would be brilliant " harry raised an eyebrow at Draco, impressed by his subtle approach.
With much hesitation rosy joined them, but not eating, just sitting further on a chair despite the insisted offer to join the table.
" pardon me mister's, I haven't been able to ask how you two met?" Rosy asked in Between
" oh- how we met- it's an interesting story actually-" draco stuttered
" we hated each other in school. But then we realised we only hated each other because we thought they had life easier. Infact we always liked each other and were too afraid to say it. So we put it into hate, until one day, I saw him alone in the school bathroom, crying and I consoled him, then I suppose we became friends and started dating after school " harry covered up for draco. Draco nodded along, amused but agreed to the story.
" that is so intriguing. I wish I could have a love like yours " Rosy grinned hopefully at them
" you know what, I think you'd get the love you deserve. And who knows might be very soon you meet the love of your life, like I have" draco smiled at rosy, drinking away his wine.
" I love you too james. I'm so glad I've met you " harry squeezed draco's hand across the table, making sure he raised no suspicions..
When they were finally done, harry insisted on helping through the kitchen, draco tagging along too when rosy spoke up
" you two make a very nice couple. I bet you don't fight a lot "
" we don-"
" oh we do, we do a lot. Who doesn't fight after all but we make up. We'd rather be with each other than anyone else. Right james ?" Harry smiled at draco, his cheeks hurting with smiling so much
" of course " draco smiled back at him as he intertwined their fingers and softly kissed Harry's knuckles. It was unfortunate that harry Blushed when he shouldn't had but with that craving physical touch, he couldn't resist.
" awh, look at you two "rosy happily sighed as he placed her hand over her chest as if touched by their relationship " oh look a mistletoe " she pointed
" a what ?" Draco's eyes suddenly widened, so did Harry's.
" there's a mistletoe " rosy pointed above their head
Harry forcefully chuckled "you don't believe in that thing, do you now rosy?"
" what's it with belief or not. It's a mistletoe. Always kiss under the mistletoe.. I mean it wouldn't matter much but make this lady happy " rosy happily said
Draco's opened his mouth to say something but unable to form any words he shut it close
" i- if that's what you want.. we're not such an open couple if you must know. Not into the public affection but for you rosy " harry gulped smiling pulling draco closer
" no suspicions " harry whispered very quietly to draco before pressing his lips against draco, tenderly kissing his soft lips, just for a few Seconds before breaking it off.
" is that how you'd normally kiss ?" Rosy asked
" what- no of course not rosy. We- we just you know save them for the bedroom, if you know what I mean " draco chuckled blushing.
Rosy's expression immediately changed " oh right, of course I understand "
" we should head to the room actually. It's getting late. We wouldn't want you staying up so late " harry said as he held draco's hands and started dragging him along with him.
Nodding, they finally left the kitchen and without so much of a suspicion made it to the room.
" you're sleeping on the couch for kissing me tonight " draco rolled his eyes as he dumped himself onto the bed.
" whatever " harry rolled his eyes and picked up his essentials and dumped onto the couch.
__________________________
" is everything fine with you two, Derek ?" Rosy asked as harry fetched the breakfast from her
" why do you ask ?" Harry frowned
" oh nothing- you just- I saw the couch with the blankets and everything and thought I- never mind, your personal life. I shouldn't intrude-"
" not at all rosy. Not at all. We just had a small Argument last night over something and, well it turned a bit ugly so I slept on the couch but I assure you, everything is fine " harry assured her taking two cups of coffee with him and heading back to the room.
" we've got a situation-" harry cut off when he saw draco wearing nothing but pants, getting ready for work.
Gulping harry broke out of it and casted a muffalito and gave draco the cup of coffee
" what happened ?" Draco asked as he pulled over a shirt.
" I think, it's a presumption, rosy knew I slept on the couch last night. She asked me about it and I don't want to raise any suspicions so let's not do the couch thing-"
" I've had enough with your no suspicions potter. We are not raising any suspicions. The only suspicion would be if it seemed as if our relationship was too perfect alright. Have some boundaries. I let it slide last night but you're never fucking kissing me again. That's the end of it. I don't give a shit if there was a mistletoe or anything, you better not do that again" draco snapped
" I can't believe you. You'd actually believe I'd enjoy kissing you, for fun or something. Please. Don't flatter yourself. I don't care if the case matters to you enough or not but this case is my last and I want to make the best of it. I don't want anything going wrong, even the slightest bit of suspicion that we're not a couple, anyone would figure out and we'd be dead before you know it. So suck it up because If you're working with me, you have to work with me " Harry snapped, pulling off his coat , taking his bag and slamming out of the manor.
Draco shut his eyes for a moment, sighing.
" everything alright dear ?" Suddenly someone asked.
Auror instincts immediately made him get up and reach for his wand when he realised it was Only rosy
" I thought i heard yelling " she said
" right- " Draco frowned, until he remembered clearly every single word from harry just before " we had a small Argument. We'd be fine.. if you don't mind, I'd like to be alone "
Rosy hurriedly nodded and left the room. It was not much later, draco too left the manor to come back again with harry for investigation.
" I think I know where to start. Talk with me tonight, yeah ?" Draco had told harry between work. Harry frowned but immediately nodded, waiting for the evening to arrive.

PART 4 | previously: part 3 | masterlist
pairing: Katsuki Bakugou x fem! reader
ratings/warnings: swearing, mention of violence but there isn’t any
synopsis: When UA’s hot heads, Katsuki Bakugou and you, are forced to put your hatred for each other aside and plan the third year Prom, things end up getting a little heated...
a/n: hi friends!! okay so this part is a little longer but it’s important for what’s to come ;) because i just couldn’t help myself, there’s a little song reference in there, hopefully you catch it,, maybe it’s important *wink wink* anyways, taglist is open so just lmk if you’d like to be added 🖤 enjoy xx
Four: it’s what’s on the inside that counts
It’s been over 2 weeks since your fight with Bakugou. The two of you haven’t spoken since, leaving your classmates a bit nervous. You were stubborn and so was he. The only problem was, neither of you really remembered why you were fighting in the first place. You two fought often, that was obvious, but something about this last fight felt different. As if you and Bakugou genuinely wanted to hurt each other. In the past, it was mainly for your own satisfaction just to fight someone. You and Bakugou had disliked each other for so long that you couldn’t even think of a solid reason for why you hated him. You soon came to realize that you barely knew anything about Katsuki Bakugou...and that bothered you.
~
“LISTEN UP! Prom tickets will be on sale after school today in the common area. You can also buy them at the door but just know they’ll cost more. So I recommend you have your money ready and get in line early because I only have a certain amount for presale. Thank you that’s all!” You announced to your class. “Oh and pass this information onto the other classes please!”
You hopped down from the desk where you were standing and brushed your skirt down.
“Do you need help setting up?” asked Deku. You looked over at Bakugou, who was supposed to be helping you but since the two of you weren’t on speaking terms, that wasn’t really an option.
“Uh sure that’d be great,” you said.
“I’ll lend a hand as well,” chimed in Iida. You laughed.
“Guys all I need help with is moving a table and a few boxes,” you explained.
“We are happy to help!”
You, Deku, and Iida set up the ticket selling table. You placed the poster of the dance in front of the table. Izuku grabbed the box of tickets and looked through them.
“Y/N did you make these?” He asked. Your face got warm.
“Uh yeah, it’s not a big deal though,” you insisted.
“It’s excellent artistic work Y/N! You should be proud!” smiled Iida.
“Yeah it’s super cool!”
“Thanks guys,” you gushed. You sat down at the table and pulled out your notebook and pen.
“Alright! Who wants the honor of buying the first ticket?”
“You should, after all you planned the dance,” said Deku. You smiled.
“I guess you’re right.” You picked up the first ticket, wrote your name next to the #1 spot in your notebook, and put your money in the cash box.
“Okay. Who’s next?”
~
The line of people never seemed to end. You got in the groove of writing down their name, number, and putting away the money pretty quickly.
“Hey Momo! Uh you’re number 35,” you said to your classmate.
“Thanks, here you go!” She smiled, handing you the money.
“Y/N!!” cheered Mina, “wait is this the theme?” Mina pointed to the design on the tickets.
“Uh yeah it is,” you smiled.
“‘My Emotions Feel Like Explosions When You’re Around’,” read aloud Deku.
“I LOVE IT!! It’s super cute and honestly I would expect nothing less from you and Bakugou!”
Right. Bakugou.
“Uh yeah. I'm excited to see how it turns out once we get all the decorations.”
“Do any of you have dates yet?” asked Denki as he paid.
“Wow Denki is that your only concern?” laughed Jirou.
“I haven’t even thought about that,” said Iida.
“Planning on asking anyone?” You asked aloud.
“I am…” mumbled Deku.
“Wow Izuku wonder who?” said Kirishima sarcastically.
“Who are you gonna ask, Deku?” You asked. No one said anything. You turned around and saw all your friends staring at you.
“What…it was just a question…”
“Wait, you're like genuinely asking?” laughed Denki, “I thought it was obvious.” Deku hit Denki’s arm.
“It’s fine, it will be better if it’s a surprise anyway,” said Deku.
“Do you want someone to ask you, Y/N?” asked Sero, handing you his money. You put the cash in a box.
“I honestly don’t care. I wasn’t even planning on going to Prom before Aizawa forced me to plan it,” you admitted.
“Well we are all glad you’ll be there,” smiled Iida.
~
Your friends had all gone back to their dorms after a bit. There were still about 20 people in line for tickets and you were exhausted.
“Cafeteria closes soon dumbass,” said someone. You whipped around. You groaned.
“Well Katsuki, I’m kinda busy if you can’t tell,” you huffed.
“Go eat. I’ll finish up here,” he said. Your eyes grew.
“Wait what-”
“Go on, you only have 15 minutes before they close dinner. I've got this,” he insisted. You got up from your chair.
“Do you know what you’re doing?”
“It can’t be that hard if you figured it out.”
You rolled your eyes
“Whatever. Just pick up when you’re done.” You began to walk down to the cafeteria.
Two weeks of not talking to me and that’s all he has to say?
“Grabbing some dinner?” called Iida behind you. You smiled.
“Yeah , Bakugou is finishing up the ticket sale.”
“Nice. I’ll join you.”
“Thanks Iida.”
~
“Cold soba?” questioned Iida, “You never get your soba cold.” You looked down at your tray of food.
“I guess Todoroki converted me,” you joked. Iida raised a brow.
“Alright Y/N, what is it? We both know you hate cold food,” he said. You picked at your soba.
“I’m fine honestly,” you mumbled.
“This wouldn’t have anything to do with Bakugou, would it?” You whipped your head to look at Iida.
“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?”
“That’s more like it!” He smiled. You chuckled.
“Well would it?” He asked. You shrugged.
“I guess this whole dance is stressing me out. Bakugou and I haven’t been very productive lately ,” you admitted. Iida sighed.
“Well this might be a stretch but you could try to make peace with him.” You groaned.
“I’m not making peace with that angry pomeranian until he apologizes.”
“Why can’t you just apologize?”
“BECAUSE I-I, I don’t know. My own stupid pride I guess.”
“You two need to overcome your differences eventually. Who knows, you guys might have more in common than you think,” smiled Iida.
“You’re the worst, you know that,” you joked.
“Wait really?”
“Iida…”
~
After dinner, you laid in your dorm room, staring up at the ceiling. You knew you should get some of the planning done but you also would rather just forget about the stupid dance. After about 10 minutes of contemplating, you headed down to the basement.
As you walked down the stairs, you remembered that Bakugou still had your notebook. You went down anyway, hoping to get some work done on your laptop instead. Much to your surprise, the door was propped open. You took a deep breath and prepared yourself for what could be behind the door.
“Hey Bakugou…” your voice trailed off as you saw that no one else was in the room.
He must’ve left the door open so I wouldn’t ask him for the keys.
You set down your things and sat down on one of the tables. You pulled out your laptop.
“I figured I’d find you here,” A raspy voice said. You looked up to see none other than Katsuki Bakugou, holding your notebook.
“Oh hi. I just thought I’d get some work done,” you explained.
“How’d you get in?”
“Uh you left the door open,” you explained. Bakugou huffed. He took a seat at the same table as you, setting down your notebook.
“Here dumbass.” Bakugou threw something on you and it landed on your head.
“What the-” You grabbed the soft material off of your head. Your eyes grew.
“Katsuki-”
“You said I owed you a new shirt, so here it is,” he said. You looked at the brand new t-shirt, a smile on your face.
“Yeah well I didn’t think you’d actually buy me one…”
“I mean I did rip your other shirt pretty badly. I-uh-I’m sorry about that.” Your eyes widened.
“Did you just say you’re sorry?”
“Yeah and I’m not saying it again.” he huffed.
“Bakugou I’m sorry too,” you said. Bakugou tilted his head.
“What are you sorry for?”
“I guess for everything. Well, maybe not everything because I don’t regret kicking your ass for 3 years one bit but I am sorry for that fight the other day. I almost killed you,” you explained nervously.
“Key word ‘almost’. I guess I almost did too,” he joked. You let out a nervous chuckle.
“Here’s the thing Bakugou, I don’t know anything about you yet I hate you with every ounce of my body. I guess I want to hate you for a reason.”
“What the hell does that mean, nerd?” He questioned. Your face got warm.
“You know how they say, ‘it’s what’s on the inside that counts’? Well,I want to hate you for what’s on the inside,” you laughed. Bakugou raised a brow.
“And what about you? The only thing I know about you is that you’ve got a short temper and your shirts rip easily. I barely know you either…”
He was right. Probably the only person who knew anything remotely deep about you was Iida, and even that was still somewhat surface level. You didn’t pick UA to get too comfortable with your classmates, even if you were friends, since in the real world you would be competing for the number one Hero spot. Maybe that’s why most of them were intimidated by you.
You patted on the top of the table, hinting for Bakugou to sit with you. He groaned and joined you on the table.
“This is stupid,” he mumbled. You rolled your eyes.
“Come on just try. And just to clarify, we are doing this for research purposes only. I’m convinced by the end of this I’ll still want to rip your head off 24/7,” you said. Bakugou nodded.
“Yeah I mean not like that could change.”
“Exactly. Okay so you first. What is it that makes Katsuki Bakugou a horrible pain in my ass?” You smiled sarcastically. Bakugou chuckled quietly.
“What do you want to know, dumbass?”

Chapter 1
Page 1
Early in the morning, president Huarui's office.
"President, this is the main agenda for today, do you think there is a need to add other arrangements?"
Looking at the president's back in front of him, Wei Qian fixed his glasses. He lowered his head and glanced at the notebook he was holding: there was a contract signing and a negotiation in the morning, two meetings in the afternoon, and a business meeting in the evening, not to mention there are many documents and reports that needed to be reviewed and signed...
The president has always handled such a busy and high-pressure work schedule in an orderly manner. It is indeed the style that the "king" he has admired since his school days can have.
Page 2
The "king" recognized by Wei Qian is now standing by the window and looking out. After listening to Wei Qian's schedule reminder, he responded with a low voice: "That's it for now."
"Understand, Mr. President" Wei Qian paused "By the way, the producer of Time Media has been in the small conference room. Do you think you should sign the contract now, or..."
The man by the window finally turned around. He looked calm, wearing a black ironed suit with white pocket squares and even his hair seemed to be rigorous and pleasant. Today's weather is very good, the sun shines brightly and glisten through his side profile.
Page 3
Turning his gaze to the door, Li Zeyan nodded imperceptibly: "Let's go."
Time Media has been in the limelight in the recent years. They had planned and produced many popular variety shows. The cooperation with Time Media this time is a rational decision made by Huarui after examining various data and estimating the return.
Page 4
In the small meeting room, the producer of Time Media held up the contract that had just been signed and the ink was not yet dry. His eyes were sewn up with satisfaction. Finally reached a substantive cooperative relationship with Huarui, and with this large capital support, he can finally flex his muscles and plan his "genius variety show".
Probably people are easy to float on happy occasions, the producer carefully put away the contract, while cheerfully and subconsciously complimenting: "If Mr. Li is free, you are welcome to come to the recording site of the program team at any time. If you can be a guest, the ratings will definitely increase!"
Li Zeyan's movements clearly paused for a moment. After a few seconds, he faintly said: "Absurd"
Page 5
But his sudden deepness and silence naturally viewed differently in the eyes of the producer. The air pressure in the conference room seemed to become invincibility colder. The producer couldn't help but regret: After all, he is the president of Huarui with a busy schedule. How could he have time to entertain the public as a variety show guest?
Just when the producer was hesitant to say something to fix the situation, Wei Qian smiled in time to clear the situation: "If you have no other questions, I will send you downstairs." Li Zeyan nodded tacitly and watched them disappear at the door of the meeting room.
Page 6
He knew that the producer had misunderstood. His momentary pause was not displeasure, but a daze caused by an unannounced impulse. As the producer's voice fell one by one, the words ‘HBS’ suddenly flashed in his mind. It seems that in another real time, someone initiated an invitation to him to be a guest on the show.
He frowned slightly, wondering where this vague feeling came from. It flashed out of thin air and there was no more information, but a seed was planted in his heart.
Chapter 2
Page 1
When Wei Qian sent the producer back, Li Zeyan was sitting sideways on the chair behind the desk. The spring sunshine fell on his shoulders and his hands were gently clasped together, not knowing what he was thinking.
When he saw Wei Qian coming in, Li Zeyan asked him in a deep voice: "Wei Qian, do you know HBS TV?"
"HBS, do you mean that TV station that has the highest ratings for variety shows in the United States for 50 consecutive years?"
Li Zeyan gave a low "Hmm", and seemed to say to himself: "In my impression, there should be no company in Lianyu City that cooperates with HBS."
Page 2
Wei Qian quickly gave an affirmative response: "You remember correctly. Although many companies have extended their arms to HBS, they have not received any response for the time being."
It is as expected. So just now...
Li Zeyan bent his elbows and raised his hands, rubbing his temples. He slept very restlessly last night, he should be fatigued.
Seeing Li Zeyan frowning and closing his eyes, Wei Qian hesitated for a moment: "Why Mr. president suddenly ask about HBS if you wants to cooperate with the other party? If necessary, I will make confirmation about it."
Page 3
"No need." Li Zeyan opened his eyes, his face has returned to calmness, and his eyes are repainted with seriousness and sharpness. "It has been half a month, how is the acquisition plan of TEC Pharmaceuticals progressing?"
"The report is on my desk, Mr. president wait a moment."
"Wait." Li Zeyan called to him, "Bring in a cup of coffee on your way back here."
Page 4
After processing the two documents, Wei Qian returned with the coffee and the rich aroma was floating in the air. Even with the mellow smell, Wei Qian began to report seriously to Li Zeyan about the progress of the acquisition of TEC Pharmaceuticals.
"Over the period of time, according to the previously formulated plan, we have carried out two negotiations with TEC Pharmaceuticals with the letter of intent for mergers and acquisitions..."
Page 5
The hydrogen-containing coffee mist rose up as Li Zeyan took a few sips from the cup of coffee while listening to Wei Qian's report. The coffee flowed into his throat, and he twisted his eyebrows slightly. It was clearly the same coffee beans. From when, he gradually felt that the taste of the coffee seemed to be something missing. Sometimes he even had an inexplicable conviction, as if it was because he was missing a person to drink coffee with him.
Li Zeyan squeezed his eyebrows a little irritably.
Page 6
At the same time, Wei Qian's report came to an end. "... TEC's company representative said that the conditions given by Huarui had not yet reached the best expectations, and also cryptically revealed that a century-old company in Europe is also approaching them. So at present, the other party's attitude is not clear, and it is in an ambiguous wait-and-see stage."
Li Zeyan spoke a long time after the voice fell, and his voice became lighter than before: "I see."
Page 7
In fact, Wei Qian had already noticed the strangeness of the president during the report. As a meticulous assistant, he couldn't help but care: "Mr. President, are you uncomfortable?"
Li Zeyan shook his head, and handed the documents that he had just processed to Wei Qian: "It's just that I didn't sleep well last night." After saying that, he glanced at his watch and said, "It's getting late, get the materials for the negotiation meeting, see you downstairs."
Chapter 3
Page 1
The time bar of a week suddenly passed by.
For a whole week, Li Zeyan has been busy with the acquisition of TEC Pharmaceuticals. With Li Zeyan's resolute and personal efforts, just now, Huarui finally succeeded in advancing its acquisition territory one step further.
In the car, Li Zeyan was looking at a work report that he had just received before getting on the car. Li Zeyan sighed softly when thinking of her bad habit of submitting something and being tired of teaching. The report was about the progress of the charity sale next month, and he quickly scanned it. He still remember last week, under his agitation, she confidently bet that she would win the support of the city government. In this report, she did it.
Page 2
Li Zeyan put down the iPad and curled his lips in relief. He remembered the bet he had made before: if she really did it, he would pick her a small gift. Of course, Li Zeyan didn't intend to break his promise. What's more, although he always commented on ‘boring and naive’ about choosing small gifts for her, he subconsciously felt that it was natural to do it.
The breeze of spring blew in from the gap of the car window. It was rare to feel the breath of spring easily. He cast his eyes out of the window casually. Suddenly, he seemed to catch a glimpse of something...
‘parking.’
Page 3
After letting Wei Qian leave first, Li Zeyan walked to the door of the store that had just been polished and opened the glass door.
This is a gift shop that looks bright and exquisite, with a dazzling array of gifts and goods in an orderly manner. Li Zeyan walked around the shop carefully, and the clerk always followed him politely and kindly.
Although these gifts looked exquisite, there was nothing he would have liked at a glance.
Page 4
Just when he was a little disappointed, a humble keychain suddenly broke into his sight.
The keychain itself is not special, but the wrapping paper underneath it attracted Li Zeyan's attention. The wrapping paper painted a red telephone booth with a British atmosphere.
Perceiving Li Zeyan's pause, the clerk quickly asked: "Mister, do you like this keychain?"
Li Zeyan responded and took the keychain to look closely.
Page 5
"This is a classic British feature," the clerk smiled graciously. "It seems that your feelings for London should be unusual, right?
"...Mhm"
It seemed that the clerk had finally met a usual person and said in a low voice: "I wish I could go to London someday. I heard that there is a great Christmas atmosphere there. I don’t know if it’s true."
Page 6
In fact, in Li Zeyan’s opinion, Christmas in London is nothing more than something that people are familiar with, but it’s nothing special.
But just as he was thinking this way, a red phone booth suddenly jumped into his mind, just like what he was holding in his hand at the moment.
It was as if there was a snowy winter, he looked anxiously at the telephone booth near Big Ben, looking for the ‘her’ who held his heart.
Page 7
Li Zeyan was in a daze for a moment. The feeling of the sudden attack was so real, it made him feel completely empty, as if the snow in London had really drifted from memory to the present. Snow fell into his heart, making his heart fall and contracting in an instant.
When did he experience this memory? Who was the ‘she’ he was looking for?
He was shocked for only a few seconds, and the clerk did not care about his speechlessness but politely extended his hand: "Are you sure you want to buy this? I'll wrap it for you."
Page 8
Li Zeyan handed the keychain over. There was an unreasonable certainty in his subconscious: she would like this gift very much, because...
What is it for?
In front of the cashier, recalling his inexplicable and determined feeling just now, Li Zeyan looked at the little gift that the clerk was holding in his hand and carefully scanned the code.
Chapter 4
Page 1
The ‘Mid-Month Charity Sale Event’ finally kicked off the sale scene. The location of the opening event was set at the street park with the largest daily flow of people.
As the planner of this event, the girl came to the park early for the final inspection and preparations. Not long after, as the sponsor of the event, Li Zeyan also appeared at the Charity Sale Event and delivered an opening speech with the municipal staff.
"...Huarui is a company rooted in Lianyu City. It is the goal and code of conduct for Huarui to pay back this city that has given us warmth and support in various ways. Finally, I wish today’s charity sale a complete success, thank you."
Page 2
After a while, the charity sale officially began. The citizens who had seen the news on the internet enthusiastically gathered around the venue, and the scene was more lively than expected. As soon as Li Zeyan turned his head, he saw a proud smiling face, probably infected by her, and he also slightly raised the corners of his mouth.
Now that the activity has started smoothly and the reporter's on-site interviews are over, he intends to walk around in the park at will, and she naturally follows him. They didn't know that after turning a few paths, there is a forest with swaying branches in front of them. Accompanied by the soft sound of the rustle, the fragrance of the leaves and the smell of earth came to their face.
Page 3
It's rare to be able to walk away leisurely outside the annoyance of official business, they just stop and walked aimlessly, laughing and chatting casually.
It's strange to say that they didn't know each other for a long time, but the relationship between him and her was extraordinarily natural and comfortable from the beginning, as if they should be like this.
Sometimes he even feels unfamiliar, as if he had walked a lot with her a long time ago.
It also includes dense woods as they are now.
Page 4
The sudden phone call made her pouting. It seemed that there was something wrong with the Charity Sale Event. She patted her chest and said that she would be able to solve it, and hurried away confidently. Li Zeyan stared at her back, with a faint smile on his mouth, but somehow, he suddenly felt that the scene before him seemed familiar.
It seemed that at some time, he had also watched a slender figure from the back in the woods. And a sourness mixed with fatigue slowly condensed in his heart. In the vagueness, he vaguely felt that he seemed to have crossed thousands of mountains and rivers in confusion and anxiety, spanning an uncountable amount of time and space of light years, just to see this figure again.
Page 5
In the forest mist, he saw the back in front of him turned around, and the girl gently called out his name.
He also responded with a chuckle, and then tightened his grip on the girl's hand: "Dummy... it’s not name-calling it's confirmation."
"... Confirmation?"
But the forest mist blocked the girl's face, and he anxiously didn't know how to confirm it. At this moment, the wind in the woods suddenly blew, blowing away a corner of the mist.
There was no one in front of him.
Page 6
But when the fog disappeared, he heard a playful question. The girl asked, how did you find me afterwards?
Li Zeyan was stunned. He didn't remember what his answer was or whether he answered.
But subconsciously, a place appeared in his mind -Souvenir.
That seems to be where the answer opens.
Chapter 5
Page 1
With the ‘Closed’ sign in Souvenir, the brightly-lit dining room seemed to be empty, except for a slight noise from the kitchen.
In the spacious and clean kitchen, Li Zeyan is wearing a white apron, making pudding attentively. Pouring the boiled sugar juice into the pudding mold evenly, then pour the boiled milk on a low heat into the stirred egg mixture, stir evenly, and finally slowly pour the pudding into the pudding mold, and then put it in the baking pan.
Li Zeyan picked up the baking tray and put it into the oven. When the time and temperature were adjusted, the oven made a button sound, which was particularly clear in the quiet Souvenir. But Li Zeyan was leaning on the side of the table platform, but he was extremely calm. In Souvenir's back kitchen, he can always find the peace in that corner.
Page 2
Looking at the oven with the built-in light on, his eyes gradually moved farther and farther.
Those recent seemingly sudden and unattainable feelings are like a bunch of woolen threads scattered on the ground, but he never believes that all stories can always go to the source, and these woolen threads must be from a certain source. The person who could lead the other side along, a name had already surfaced in his heart.
Page 3
Messy thoughts thrashed in Li Zeyan's mind. For the first time, he decided to abandon the so-called rational analysis and chose to believe in his own heart. Because he later realized that in addition to the beating of the heart in his left chest, it turned out that there seemed to be inexplicable feelings and emotions.
"...ting!"
The oven makes a crisp sound, it should be the pudding. Li Zeyan stood up straight and was about to take it, but a slight footstep suddenly heard from the door. The owner of the name in his heart was walking towards him on high heels.
Page 4
She probably smelled the scent of pudding, she sniffed her nose and her eyes lit up. Holding a souvenir-like thing, she came to him in three or two steps, opened the box triumphantly, and then raised the small crystal lamp in front of him. The moment she turned the switch on the bottom, the orange starlight immediately appeared from the small crystal lamp.
Almost at the same time, a similar orange starlight was gradually awakening from his long memory. It seems that Souvenir is full of Christmas atmosphere. In the little light, a girl raises her head with a smile-
That face is so familiar.
Page 5
It turns out that the girl really exists in those vague memories that are not clear.
In the kitchen at this moment, the scent of pudding diffuses through the oven. Just as some distant but clear fragments are slowly rolling in.
Memory and reality, the past and the present, overlap closely. Li Zeyan stared at the smiling face in front of him that was dyed softer by the orange starlight.

Week 1 – March 2020
The first few days of lockdown were a challenge. Trying to get in touch with people from work was proving more difficult than you’d first thought. You were getting easily distracted as well. BeeBee spent his time going between Poe in the dining room and you in the living room, the open plan nature basically making it a massive room for him to wander around in. Anytime he came near you, you couldn’t resist picking him up for snuggles. Poe was a distraction too, he liked to sing to himself as he worked and the sound of his voice was distracting you from whatever work you were doing. After reading the same line of an email 4 times you decided to take a break, you headed to the kitchen and started up the coffee machine. BeeBee followed you, deciding to have his own drink break with his bowl of water. Rose appeared in the kitchen whilst you were waiting for your coffee to be done.
“How’s it going?” she asked
“It’s a lot more challenging than I thought. Everything is distracting me!”
“Me too” she replied “And most people aren’t picking up calls today because they’ve all obviously had to close their offices as well”
“I can’t get hold of management” you replied “And BeeBee keeps wanting attention and he’s so cute I always give in! We should put a smart watch on him. He’s probably done 10000 steps walking between Poe and I”
“How’s Poe as a colleague?”
“Distracting, he keeps singing”
“He’s a good singer, could be worse” Rose chuckled
“Yeah he’s great but my mind just hears singing and thinks it’s done with work” you replied “Have you heard anything from Finn?”
“No, the doors been closed all morning. I don’t think he even came out for a break”
“Hopefully it’s going alright for him”
“Why don’t we do something tonight” Rose said “We’re all having weird days so maybe we could plan fun things in the evenings”
“What do you have in mind?”
“Movie night tonight” she replied “We can make dinner then watch a bunch of movies. We can plan other things for other evenings”
“I’m in” you replied “It’ll be nice to have something to look forward to”
“What are we looking forward to?” Poe asked as he joined you in the kitchen
“Oh, Rose was just saying we should plan fun things to do in the evenings, starting with movie night tonight”
“Sounds great. This working remotely thing is really not fun”
“BeeBee likes it” you smiled “He’s enjoying going between us”
“Well as long as the best boy is happy then we all are” Poe chuckled, leaning down to scoop the dog into his arms “You’re the best little buddy aren’t you”
“So cute!” Rose whispered
Rose’s idea for a movie night was just what everyone needed after the first day of the strange new reality the world found itself in. The 4 of you picked a movie each, the genres ranged from musicals, to Disney, to action and finally horror. You didn’t hate horror movies but they would never be your first choice. BeeBee who had taken residence in your lap for movie night suddenly found himself being hugged a lot tighter than previously. Rose and Finn were sat on one sofa all cuddled up, Rose had a blanket over her head and Finn was chuckling at her anytime she jumped at the scares from the movie. Poe and you were sat on the opposite side of the room. A blanket covered your legs, which were crossed underneath you. Poe was stretched out, his feet hanging off the end of the sofa and his head rested on a pillow a few inches away from you. He sat up when you jumped at one particularly bad jump scare.
“Hey, you alright?” he whispered
“Just not really my kind of movie” you replied
“Me neither, but Finn loves them so I’ve got used to them! I can hold your hand if you want”
“Thank you, but I’ll be fine. It’s just a stupid movie right?”
“Right” Poe smiled, he sat up and moved closer to you “Just incase anyone tries to grab you, I’ll not let them”
The sun decided to make an appearance on the 3rd and 4th days of lockdown. It wasn't tropical temperatures or anything but you could get away with being in the garden as long as you had a hoodie on. Rose was completely snowed under at work and you rarely saw Finn apart from lunch. Poe’s boss had taken pity on them all after a stressful few days and given them the Friday as a day off. You could see him sat in the garden with BeeBee whilst you worked. It was approaching 12.00 and you were slowly losing the will to live. You managed to push through until 1pm when you were ready for lunch. Your boss emailed to give everyone the afternoon off so you made your lunch, pulled a hoodie on and headed out to the garden to join Poe. As soon as the sun hit your skin, you instantly felt relaxed. It had been a strange week and you were grateful to be able to start your weekend a few hours early. You grabbed one of the garden chairs and moved it over next to Poe.
“Happy weekend” he said as you sat down
“It’s been the weirdest week in the entire world. I’m so glad we made it to the weekend”
“Me too, and I’m really glad you got an early finish. Bee isn’t the best conversation holder” he winked
“He’s cute though, he gets points for that at least!”
“That goes without saying”
The dog must’ve known he was being spoken about. He got up from his place in the shade to come and get some attention.
“Wanna take him a walk with me later?” Poe asked “The ice cream kiosk in the park is open, we could get something there, and it would be nice to have some company”
“Yeah, that sounds good”
Finn and Rose were still upstairs working when it came time for BeeBee’s walk. You texted Rose to tell her you’d gone with Poe. The park was beautiful in the sun, you couldn’t remember the last time you’d actually visited it. It was only a 10 minute walk away from the house but you didn't really have a reason to go to it. There were families out on walks, people on their own, people with dogs. Everyone was out enjoying the weather and taking their one form of daily outdoor exercise. You chuckled as BeeBee tried to make friends with every other dog and human he came across, his little tail wagging the entire time. Poe led you over to the ice cream kiosk he had mentioned; there was a long socially distanced queue.
“You keep an eye on Bee and I’ll get us some ice cream” he smiled “There’s a bench just round the back of this kiosk, nobody ever sits at it but it’s at a really good bit for Bee to run around. I’ll come and get you once I get the ice cream”
You nodded and made your way round to the bench Poe had mentioned. Like he said, the area was quiet; there was one woman with a dog that you’d seen earlier on, BeeBee and her dog had sniffed one another when you'd walked passed her just after walking into the park. You took the ball you’d lifted before leaving the house out of your pocket and threw it for the little dog. He happily chased after it, always bringing it back. He set it down for a second to talk to the woman who was stood at the other side of the grass, her dog spotted it’s opportunity and grabbed it. The woman chased after her dog and eventually got the ball back. She walked over to the bench and stood far enough away from where you were, but close enough to lay the ball down.
“Sorry about that, he’s terrible for stealing from other dogs”
You chuckled “It’s not a problem, it’s this ones fault for trying to be too sociable”
She smiled “Your dog is so cute!”
“He is cute, but sadly he’s not mine. I have to give him back”
“Ah, he’s your boyfriends. The guy you were walking with earlier”
You could feel yourself blushing “Em, yeah he belongs to him, but he’s not my boyfriend. Just a friend and lockdown house mate”
“Oh, I’m sorry I just assumed” she replied “You guys looked liked a super cute couple  when I spotted you earlier”
“It’s fine” you replied with a shrug.
You wished he was your boyfriend, you’d had a crush on the man since the first day you met him. The two of you had clicked right away when Ben had introduced you. Him and Poe had been classmates that didn’t keep in touch, you vaguely remembered seeing Poe at your brothers birthday parties when you were kids but nobody paid you much attention back then because they were all older and you were the annoying little sister of their friend. Poe and Ben had met back up again when Ben became a client of Poe’s work. You were introduced to Poe when Ben and Rey got engaged and had a party. You’d later found out you had a mutual friend in Finn and the 3 of you started to hang out. You’d known Finn since high school, you never went to the same school but you both had a part time job at a local café. Finding out Poe was Finn’s best friend and roommate made you re-connect with Finn. You’d kept in touch on social media for years but didn’t really spend a lot of time together so through Poe that all changed. When you’d introduced Finn and Rose it had been love at first sight. The 4 of you could be found hanging out on a regular basis; everyone always assumed it was a double date because of how close you and Poe were. He was a touchy, feely guy. He would often be found with his arm round your shoulders, his hand on your back when you were walking anywhere with him. You loved it but also hated it because you always wanted more. The reason you had never mentioned anything was because you were scared he wouldn’t feel the same and you didn’t want such a good friendship to fall apart if you told him and made things awkward. Rose knew, but she promised she wouldn't tell Poe.
BeeBee and the other dog went back to playing together and the woman wandered back to where she had originally been stood. You took a few photos on your phone and uploaded them to social media. Everyone needed a boost during the weird times you were in and you thought there was no better way to cheer people up than photos of cute dogs. After what felt like hours, Poe finally came to join you. He handed you a small tub of ice cream and a slushie.
“Man are they busy” he said, flopping down next to you on the bench “Did Bee behave?”
“He did, that dog he’s playing with stole his ball but they’re on friendly terms now”
“That’s good news” Poe chuckled
The two of you sat and enjoyed your ice creams, the weather and one another’s company. When you were ready to head back home Poe phoned Finn, the local takeaways were open for delivery and Poe decided it was too nice a night for anyone to be cooking. The evening was spent eating as much pizza as you could and watching videos on YouTube. Finn was really into the ones exploring abandoned places and you all fell down a rabbit hole of watching video after video. Rose fell asleep first, and you soon followed. Eventually leaning over and falling onto Poe’s shoulder. Poe and Finn smiled at one another. You had all survived a crazy week, you’d had to adapt to an all new way of life and there had been some hiccups but overall you’d all coped. You were thankfully all healthy, and you had good company and were surrounded by your best friends. Life was far from perfect but both of them knew that things could be a lot worse, and that worldwide things would get worse before they improved.
So once again please let me know what you thought, I want to get better as a writer and I can only do that with your help. Thank you for all of the kind comments one the last part, they really made me smile! <3

(2) home - enhypen
youtube
(listening to the song while reading the chapter is recommended~)
in a long straight path, there lined eight houses, every two faced each other. this was what i considered my  neighborhood.
the houses looked completely worn out. there were still leftover hopscotch marks in the grubby street that separated the houses, and several cracks lined the outer front walls of the homes.
i hastily ran out of one of those houses, and onto the narrow roadway. i was in a bit of a hurry -  i decided to wash myself before going to sunghoon's place because the field made me feel sticky, which means i took an extra amount of time to get ready.
as i left my terrace, i heard gates clambering to my right side.
"oh, you're late too." niki pointed out as i approached him.
"didn't know you were going to eat at sunghoon's as well."
"sunoo ran out of food," niki crankily replied, "and everyone else is having dinner there anyway, so why not? it's free carbonara, might as well take the chance because sunghoon never shares anything unless his mom forces him to."
i gasped, "the others are there too-"
"hell yeah! goo goo ga ga hoon waaaah go cry about it! we're all going to drain your food supply tonight!" niki said as he childishly hopped up and down.
"niki, please don't be too happy. there will be three people slaughtering us tonight." i shivered at the thought while we both started to walk towards sunghoon's house at the end of the pavement.
jake, heeseung, and jungwon hate waiting for people in order to eat. they're literally a foodie trio, they get grumpy when they can't have their meals right away. they also tend to blame their hysteria on the people they're waiting for. the word blame is an understatement, heeseung takes food a bit too seriously for a twenty year old.
usually, they just go ahead if they get impatient.
however, sunghoon's flight-attendant mom is supposedly back home tonight. our parents have created this sort of rule that we have to eat all-together. this rule stems from when seven year old me threw a tantrum when i found out that the boys ate fried chicken without me, so we've been kind of following it for most of our lives because the elders get upset if one of us has a temper.
niki added, "actually, four people will have ideas that involve murdering us tonight. well honestly- only three for me. four for you."
i stopped in my tracks, "what the hell are you on about?"
"jay doesn't like when others take his stuff and wear it without his permission.."
clothes. niki was referring to my clothing. i looked down just to realize that i was wearing an oversized t-shirt that had 'park 02' printed on it. it was jay's custom tee from high school.
was i in such a rush that i didn't even register that i put on jay's shirt that i had secretly stolen?
"niki- you dumbass! why would you tell me this now? we just reached sunghoon's!" i yelled at the lanky being while i harshly slapped his abdomen.
"oh so i'm the dumbass? that's what you get for being an idiot, i can't believe you're a senior!" he yelled back at me.
i rolled my eyes and hit him one more time in the gut before taking position behind him as we slipped into the entrance of sunghoon's humble abode.
"using me as a shield won't do you any help." niki sneered while he opened the front door.
i wretchedly threw my head back and followed niki's back into the wood-paneled parlor. a chatter of voices could already be heard.
we moved past a set of stairs, and eventually winded up where the dining room was.
six people, who were previously facing each other and conversing, turned towards the direction niki and were coming from. they were seated at an old-fashion table with eight cushioned chairs. four individuals were settled on the side of the table that could see the room's entrance, while two people had their back facing niki and i as we arrived.
i scanned the room and surprisingly, nobody wore an irked look.
"byeol! looking good!" a puppy-like boy grinned. at that, i made my way towards him and teasingly pulled at his dark hair. jungwon, who sat beside him, elbowed his arm and mumbled something that sounded similar to "jake, focus on your food".
sunoo gleefully waved his hands then patted the seats beside him, gesturing for niki and i to sit there. the two of us shuffled and took our seats.
i found myself directly next to sunoo, with niki at the left end of the table facing heeseung.
i wrapped my arms around sunoo, he returned my actions and drew nearer to me which made our cheeks squish against each other. i creaked, "sunoo, my only source of sunshine! how are you? it's been a while."
"it has been way too long! i have been suffering lately- because of this moron called sunghoon! for the past hour he has been talking about how he received five confessions today even though it's only the second week of him attending college. my ears are so close to falling off!" sunoo wailed dramatically.
i hugged him tighter and jokingly sniffled, "i'm so sorry, sunoo... i can't imagine what you've been going through."
while i was comforting the poor boy, a hoarse voice sarcastically rang out, "i apologize for sharing my experience of being a really attractive, warm-hearted, and extremely smart person."
i let go of the hug and looked at the being past sunoo, "you don't need to ask for forgiveness. i think we all know that you don't have any three of those qualities, so what's the point in saying sorry?"
sunghoon just scowled as a response.
heeseung snickered at our exchange before his expression became serious, "start eating, byeol. the vegetables are gonna get cold."
i titled my head in confusion. wait what? i internally thought, did he just say vegetables?
i peered at the middle of the table, where an empty bowl with remaining white sauce stood alongside a plate filled with greens.
"you guys ate without-"
"yeah, byeol. you and niki were an hour late.. what did you expect-"
i cut jungwon off, "you were the one who told me there was gonna be carbonara! and now there's none? you could have made sure that heeseung and jake wouldn't hog it all for themselves!"
jungwon bit his lower lip guiltily, "i tried... but you know how they are."
niki shook his head as he grabbed the salad, "disappointed, but not surprised."
he put some vegetables onto my plate, then took the leftovers for himself. i began to bitterly munch it while making weird faces.
"i swear they're no older than six." jay whined. "also, byeol, is that not my shirt you're wearing?" he continued.
"now now jay, it is not the time to get mad at byeol. she 's already irritated, so she'll bite back even more." heeseung advised as if he was talking about an animal.
jay annoyingly pointed at me, "you're not getting away with this type of stuff next time."
i glanced at heeseung and gave him a quick thankful look. he gave a small smile back.
"considering you guys went ahead, is your mom not here, hoon?" niki probed.
"she's out running errands, won't be back until 10." sunghoon answered.
from there, the usual night-time conversation started. we discussed about the coffee shop heeseung was running, lutton high rumours, and how jake was unexpectedly doing well with girls in college too?
"did you know that i got invited to 3 dinner dates today? hoon's not the only one attracting ladies in the university of lutton." jake smirked.
"you should have went to one then." sunoo and i retorted at the same time. we playfully nudged each other.
"well, i was going to! until i heard that byeol was joining us for dinner tonight, she hasn't eaten with us for the past week!" jake countered.
jungwon's eyes flickered to mine while i told half of the truth, "sorry, i've been tired from school recently."
niki's eyes went wide, "oh right! you're still in the photography club? i heard hwang intak's the president this year!"
"who's hwang intak?" sunghoon strangely asked. he was rarely curious about others apart from us.
jungwon and jake's ears perked up at the question as well.
"lutton high's new it boy, also known as your replacement. except he's like ten times more friendly than you." sunoo taunted.
"yeah, right." sunghoon scoffed.
jay began to clap his hands and wheeze, "i thought the girls there would be heartbroken when sunghoon graduated. they move on quickly!"
"he's actually really nice though," i insisted, "during our club meetings, he always allows me to do homework before taking pictures. he even offers to help sometimes even though he's in a different section. i wonder why."
jungwon interrupted, "he's probably one of those overly kind people."
i shrugged, " i guess? i'm the only senior in the club apart from him, so he probably understands how i feel overwhelmed with assignments and stuff-"
"or," niki interjected, "he's into byeol!"
jungwon flashed a glare at niki.
niki responded with a face that said, "what?"
heeseung pondered out loud, "that may be true, i did something similar with the girl i liked when i was part of the student council."
sunoo's mouth was agape, "ahhhhhh! that explains why he comes into our class and studies with byeol sometimes during our free periods! it all makes sense!"
"who in their right mind would actually be interested in the lunatic?" sunghoon remarked.
"you've got to admit that she occasionally looks cute."
sunghoon's ears tinged red, "jake..." he paused, "n-no i don't think that she's-"
"i'm just saying!" jake hollered as he pushed back his hair.
"can everyone shut up for a second? you guys are being overdramatic. school just started last week- how can he like me in a span of  fourteen days?" i exhaustedly let out, ignoring jake's comment.
"you never know how someone truly feels byeol, you never know.." niki uttered.
i slapped his knee aggressively, "what do you know about love, niki?"
"trust me, i know more than you." he replied, his eyes fixed on something   behind me.
i let out a final huff of annoyance. i always question how i managed to survive eighteen years with these brats.
"shoot, it's already 9:30! i'm gonna go to bed, i have early morning classes tomorrow. and so do you jake." jay got out of his seat and waved his hand at us as he left the room.
"tsch, i guess i'll get going too." jake said as he started bidding goodbyes. when he got to me, he pinched my cheeks hardly and ran out of the room with a cheeky smile before i could chase after him.
i rubbed the area where he pinched, whispering exaggerated cries of how much it hurt.
"i think it's time we all go, it's getting late. you guys still have school tomorrow, and i have to open up the café." heeseung stood up and clapped everyones shoulders.
"don't stay for too long!" he finally said as he exited.
niki ridiculed, "yes, father heeseung!"
"hey, is anyone going to watch the game tomorrow?" sunoo inquired. there was only five of us remaining. "i don't want to go alone."
"i have to go, the photography club needs to take pictures of the game." i nodded
sunoo put his two hands into a prayer position, "oh, thank the lord!"
"i'm coming too, a few of my classmates are players." niki said as he was beginning to leave, "jungwon and sunghoon, you guys should come along too, since you two are so curious about photography club president intak."
after saying that, the younger boy immediately took his leave. he didn't wait for any comments, he just yelled, "see you, tomorrow!" before he slammed the doorway.
sunghoon pointed out, "i think he left straight away because jungwon had a knife ready in his hand."
"no doubt about it, hoon." i said as i looked at an annoyed jungwon who was gripping his utensil in a very uncivil way.
"i'll come, unlike those biophysics majors, i don't have any classes tomorrow."
sunoo hooted, "good! that's good, hoon! how about you, wonnie?"
jungwon sighed, "fine. now we're done here. i'll walk you home, byeol."
sunghoon chimed, "walk her home? she lives down the street..."
jungwon pretended that he didn't hear sunghoon and moved over to me. he tried pulling me out of my place while i held onto sunoo's arm, "i'll go home only if sunoo's sleeping over! my dad's at the city again!"
"i'll stay at your house tonight, byeol! don't worry."
i let jungwon pull me up, while sunoo followed suit.
"your dad's not here again?"
"i just said that, hoon." i put my arms around sunoo and jungwon and started leading us out of the house.
"just know you can come over anytime- like always!" he called out in an uneasy tone from the dining area.
"noted!" i yelled back before sunoo closed the door behind us.
"my legs are tired, can someone carry me?" i immaturely begged.
"really? they're worn out from sitting down for two hours?" jungwon declared.
"let the girl be! you can piggyback on wonnie, byeol." sunoo beamed while ushering me to get on jungwon's back.
regardless of his displeasure, jungwon crouched down.
i jumped onto the rear part of his figure and wrapped my arms around his neck. he jumped a little as he made his posture straight again, "i actually need to stop babying you."
"i'm pretty sure you said that yesterday too." sunoo chuckled as we plodded back to my house.

no limit to you
pairing: sakusa kiyoomi x reader
summary: “Knew right from the start there was no limit to you.” sakusa’s gonna go far and you know it. a look at your relationship throughout some months. (Started out based on Feels by Kehlani but yeah that went left)
warnings: profanity, starts as college students, manga spoilers about career. implied sex, little bit of angst but for like 10 seconds.
wc: 5.4k holy shit this took me all week
Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Year 2, month 6
“He is the Black Jackals big and promising rookie,” Your heart couldn’t help but swell with pride as the speaker's voice carried across the gym (?). Despite the less theatrical introductions awarded to MSBY you couldn’t help but cheer loudly even yelling out the stupid nickname given to Sakusa by his teammates. One that he insists that he hates. “Go, omi-omi!” To anyone else it’d just look like another stale glance at the speaker, but you didn’t miss the tiniest of smile that graces his face.
It’s his time to shine and you’re by his side to witness it all. — Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Month 3
The sound of rain pounding against the building mixed with the sound of landing volleyballs and squeaking shoes. The men’s volleyball practice is approaching hour 3 and despite Sakusa insisting that you could have just headed back to your apartment you were there anyways. One reason for it was because you knew with him living so close he didn’t drive to campus and despite his tendencies for cleanliness, that’d he’d swallow his pride enough to catch a ride with one of his teammates to avoid the torrential downpour. You figured he’d at least appreciate a ride from you, whose car he knew was relatively clean instead (clean mostly because he always made cleaning and disinfecting your car a “couple activity” every weekend). Another reason was simply because you missed him and was ready to propose getting dinner together. Waiting for him wasn’t a problem anyways, the row of tables overlooking the gym were quite spacious and you utilized the time to get some procrastinated work done. As your small break and time spent switching between the same 3 apps comes to an end you pull up your Snapchat one last time the camera zooming in on sakusa for a few seconds with the caption “a superstar”. You knew Sakusa would frown and scold you for it later (the guy hates being put on stupid Snapchat), but also knew he secretly like when you showed how proud you were. The man was truly destined for greatness and you knew there were no limits to how far he could go. Of course with the relative newness of your relationship, you’ve never told him that. After one last check to make sure the video posts, music flows back into your ears as you began the last hour stretch. “You could’ve gone home you know.” Was the first thing you heard the second the dark haired male sat in the chair in front of you. Plucking your earbuds out all you could do was shrug. “Now is that anyway to greet your cinnamon apple,” you laughed at the displeased look on his face, or more so in his eyes. He must've put his mask on before leaving the locker room. Sakusa was never really one for nicknames and whenever you’d call yourself something from a vine from a thousand years ago he couldn’t hide the scowl on his face.
“All done for the day?” At his nod of assurance you start packing up your bag as Sakusa just watched. He cringed at how you chaotically just packed your papers and laptop into your bag. No folders, or even a ouch for writing utensils. He’d have to get you one. As you finished picking up and fished your keys out of your bag’s pocket you notice Sakusa pull his mask down as he crossed to step in front of you. Placing a quick kiss on your lips, “thank you for waiting.” — Tap. Tap. Tap. Click. Tap. The sounds of scribbling mixed alongside flipped pages and the soft conversations of fellow library goers. The words of the textbook in front of you were beginning to look like gibberish and with that cane even more unconscious fiddling of your pen, a fact not lost on your boyfriend. The sound being so close and frequent broke him out of his own focus bubble. When you insisted the two of you have a study date, you were unsurprisingly met with the excuse of neither of you having the same major. “It doesn’t matter, we can just sit in the library. It’s spending quality time together Kiyoomi,” you’d told him. And it was true, sort of. After you’d finally got into the groove of studying, time seemed to fly and just knowing he was there was comforting enough. “(Y/N). You’re distracting me.” Sakusa was too blunt for his own good sometimes. All you could offer was a mumbled half assed apology, watching as he attempted to focus on his work again. You however? Were done for the time being, deciding to preoccupy yourself with your phone and taking not so sneaky glances at the man sitting in front of you.
“If you paid as much attention to your work as you did me, you’d be doing better in that class.” Maybe he had a point, but who cared. It's not like you were failing the course. Taking another glace up you manage to catch his eye before responding.
“But you're prettier.”
--
Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Month 7
You felt the dip in the bed first. A warm hand resting softly on your back next. Finally your favorite person’s voice. “You're coming to the game right.” You were so tired that you couldn't  even be bothered to turn and face the voice.
“Of course. First home game in a while,” you hum out, eyes still closed basking in the softness of the blanket. The weather had been terrible for the past week, completely draining any energy and remaining motivation you had to finish the rest of the semester. Sakusa, on the other hand, had seemingly been unaffected and you envied his tunnel vision like nature. “I can’t wait to see you win y’know.” Sakusa thanked his lucky stars, that your eyes were still closed, because if not you may have seen the red that dusted the tops of his ears. You could hear the sound of hangars knocking in the closet before inquiring about the noise.
“You don’t have a clean jersey for tomorrow’s game right.” He knew that you had a general school fan jersey, but he meant something more specific. One with his number on the back.
“Nothing is guaranteed. The other team is pretty good too.”
“Yeah well, you're better.” --
Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Year 1 If you heard one last critiquing remark from your boyfriend you were going to scream. Or kill him, which currently sounded like the better option. It started with him telling you your kitchen smelled weird, the food cooked hours earlier obviously not Sakusa approved. Next came him cringing as he inquired when was the last time you or roommate had vacuumed the living room. Then came his annoyed look when he noticed your skincare products all over the bathroom counter because you had to rush out this morning. The last straw came as he said something about you getting germs all over your face as you dug the palms of your hands into your eyes. While that one had some validity you were fucking tired. School was sucking, your coworkers are annoying and your boyfriend is a fucking dick. “Can you not try to not be a germaphobe asshole for two seconds, Sakusa,” you exclaim, not even bothering to face him from your spot at your desk. “Do better with cleaning then.”
“What are you, my dad.”
“If I were, you’d know how to clean up properly.”
It was official. Sakusa, Kiyoomi fucking sucks. The tension in the air had grown. Between your pissed stress related retorts and sakusa’s stupid passive aggressive insults the two of you had navigated far away from just arguing about germs. You’d both begun bringing up past situations and feelings that you’d both previously kept buried.
“Half the time I don’t even know if you fucking like me.” That was a lie. He cared and you knew it. But former insecurities paired with his generally aloof nature whenever the two of you were in public caused you to mention it. Insecurties concerning how he was on his way to something great, and that he’d leave you behind with a stupid college degree that you didn’t even know how you were going to use. You’d long abandoned your desk chair, opting to pace around the room. If his eyes were knives, you’d be long dead with the way he was glaring. You hadn’t noticed, but Sakusa even pulled his mask down to engage in this argument.
“Well thats just stupid. But since you're bringing it up, do you even like me,” Sakusa sneered causing you to stop in place.“You’re going out an awful lot these days. Partying more than you used to, aren’t you.” Your state of disbelief hadn’t been lost on him, in fact you looked as if you were going to start laughing at any moment. The way he condescendingly spoke your name sent chills down your spine. “Can’t help but wonder what you’re doing.”
“Oh so now I’m cheating-.”
“I’m just pointing out what I’ve noticed.” He’d hit the realization that he messed up the second the insinuation left his lips. However, he was too far in and so were you. He’d have to make it up to you later, he began to think. Until your humourless laugh filled the air, striking a cord in him, bigger than you’d ever done. This entire night you’d been a ticking time bomb, and were ready to explode.
“Now why the fuck, would I put up with you if I didn’t love you. A year of my life just wasted huh.” The revelation of your love causes Sakusa to pause. Of course the two of you loved one another. It was shown in the little actions. But, until now neither of you had ever uttered the three words to one another.
“(Y/N-)”
“Newsflash, Kiyoomi, you're not an easy person to love. You nag me about shit that only bothers you, and I put up with it. I can’t even come around you with mismatched socks”
“You never want to go out to any kind of party with me and I want you there, yet I’m always willing to go out when you have to with the team.”
“You barely even show that you like me in public. I’ve had friends ask me are we even really dating.”
The end of your rant was accompanied by silence on both of your ends. You were drained. Your throat hurt and your eyes stung. But more importantly your heart ached.  Despite the tears building at the back of your eyes you were not going to give him the satisfaction of seeing you cry. Sakusa on the other hand was deep in thought. The tug on his heartstrings at your admittance was foreign. He didn’t want to say anything to further upset you, and had gotten to know you enough to know you’d want to be alone after a time like this.
The hand that grabbed yours almost felt foreign as Sakusa led you towards your bed. The already long day ending with a quick kiss against your temple, a promise to see you later, and an aching heart.
--
“Did you and Sakusa- like break up or something,” your friend inquired. It's been 9 days since you’d last heard from Sakusa, and your mopey mood hadn’t gone unnoticed by your friends. On top of you being unusually downcast they noticed that you hadn’t attended the most recent match. You always went to home games. You already had to deal with the aftermath of your roommate being home and hearing your argument that night, you hadn’t exactly been that quiet during the ordeal.
The next morning marked the start of the weekend, which you’d spent a large part of the day in bed. In the middle of you bothering to fix dinner, your roommate had come home interrupting your pity party. You liked your roommate, you did and the two of you were friendly. But the two of you definitely were not best friends and for them to come home and see you for the first time post argument- awkward.
“Yo- (Y/N), did you hear me? You and Sakusa break up or something,” your friend repeated, breaking you out of your wandering thoughts. “Or something,” you muttered bitterly. The lunch in front of you suddenly looked unappealing. The melting ice cubes floating in your drink taking away your attention.
Just as you began to take your mind off Sakusa in preparation to try and have a relatively normal weekend, your friend just had to bring him up. You loved her, but she was a dumbass for that one. Your entire car ride home you turned on your breakup playlist one you’d made during the demise of your last relationship back in highschool. Something about Miley Cyrus’ 7 Things felt more relatable than ever now that you were older.
Entering your apartment, you waved a greeting to your roommate who looked strangely happy. “Oh (Y/N), you’ve got a gift.” Ok- why the hell was she so cheery about a gift to you. Eying her suspiciously, your roommate pointed past you and your eyes widened.
“Who-”
“Who do you think? Dropped them off a little over an hour ago. Looked disappointed when he realized you weren’t here.”
You half mumbled something kin of appreciation for telling you as you walked toward the kitchen table to see a bouquet of roses, and a card with neatly scribbled handwriting you recognized immediately.
“One rose for every month of putting up with me being a germophobic asshole. Google also said roses meant love. Hope you like them.
P.s: i missed you at the game (and in general)”
14 roses. He even included the two months where you teetered the line between friends and partners. You couldn’t help but laugh at his use of your word choice to describe him. You hadn’t even noticed your roommate peering over your shoulder until she spoke. “He means well. You two should work it out.” If you weren’t planning to before you sure as hell were going to now. “Yeah,” you mused. “You're right.
The gears in your head were absolutely turning, thinking about how you’d reach back out to Sakusa. Obviously he’d been the bigger person and made the first contact, and yeah he was definitely being a jerk that night, but so were you. You were so caught in your own thoughts as you made your way down the short hallway to your room that you hadn’t even noticed the slight rustling. Opening your door you were met with an even bigger surprise.
Sakusa. In your room, gloved up, vacuum out-He was cleaning? Your room?. Your brain short circuits as you were at a loss for words.
“Kiyoomi?” The sound of your roommate teasing telling you two to keep it down went beyond your span of comprehension as you just stood in the doorway. “You should close the door.
---
After you got past the initial shock of seeing Sakusa, he’d taken his gloves off and sat on your bed wordlessly patting the spot next to him. After a brief moment of silence you were the first one to speak. Afterall, he did take the first step at mending your relationship. Now it's your turn. “I’m sorry Kiyoomi. For snapping at you, questioning how you felt when I knew better. I was a bitch for that one.
“I’m sorry. I was wrong. I knew how stressed you were already and made it worse. I know how you get when you're upset, and came to straighten up for you.”
“Thanks for that one. I’ll admit, it was starting to bother me too.” A silence filled the air as you shifted closer. Enough so that you could rest your head on his shoulder.
“I know you’re not cheating on me-“
“Wow, how did you figure that out. You are SO smart,” you faked gasped. The  teasing comment released any lingering tension between you and before you knew it Sakusa had his normal frowny face at you. The one he tended to get when you jokingly teased or annoyed him. One, never meant with any malice. A softer one reserved just for you. The moment passed quickly and as you removed your head from his shoulder you eyed him seriously. “I wouldn't do that Yoomi. You know that right?”
The thought of him even thinking you’d ever cheat on him didn’t sit right with you. In fact, it had been the main reason you were upset. You could work past anything else said. But that one? You needed to acknowledge it. Your question had been answered when you felt a hand gently rest on the side of your neck pulling you gently towards him. You were so close that you could feel the move of his lips as he reaffirmed what was already known. “I love you too (Y/N). The universe seemed to stop as Sakusa's lips moved softly against yours. you had moved your lingering hand to wrap around the wrist touching you, rubbing gentle circles on his inner wrist. A hold that unconsciously tightens as you felt his tongue languidly slip into your mouth and explore. This kiss was different than any you’d ever shared before. Different from the quick kisses shared when you’d two part ways at the end of dates. Different than the domineering good luck kisses given in quiet hallways outside the locker room before games. Than the tired kisses he’d reluctantly give because your tired whining grated his nerves. Hell, even different than the kisses shared the first time you two had sex. Those were just awkward. This kiss? Was loving. You two loved one another. Those feelings had been made more than clear to the other person. The universe always told you that falling in love too fast and too young would end in disaster. But you’d risk that if you could feel like this everyday.
The need for air forced the two of you to pull away. In that time Sakusa had shifted the two of you so that he was resting against the headboard of your bed, your knees resting on the side of his knees. One hand on your thigh, other resting on your back. He looked so pretty like that. Puffy lips, heavily breathing, and with so much love for you. There was no doubt you looked the same. The rest of his forehead on your shoulder allowed you to gently play with his hair.
“I’ll work on the other things too. But don’t expect me to take care of your drunk ass every weekend.”

Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Year 1, Month 10
“How’s it going Mr MVP.” You pushed your body off the chilled brick, as you eyed your boyfriend up and down. He looked good, really good. He’d just finished the last game of his collegiate career, one that had been won. Not only that, but he had been named MVP and a rookie to look out for going into Division 1 post graduation.
You shifted your hands towards his face but before you could even rest them near you he stopped you with a mini hand sanitizer dangling in your face. “I’m sure you touched that brick while waiting.” After your hands were as sanitized as they could be, you hovered your hands over the corner of his mask, silently asking for permission to lower it. Once you got the go ahead, and felt his hands resting on your hips you pulled him down for a sweet kiss. After pulling away you left your hands wrapped around his neck and began playing with the hairs at the back of his neck.
“You’re a fucking superstar Yoomi. You’re gonna go so far.” You revealed the thoughts that had been in the back of your mind since you met him. And it was true. You knew he’d been looking at a few professional teams, and no matter where he’d go the sky was the limit.
“Now c’mon. It’s party time babe. Last college win celebration,” you cheered pressing a quick kiss to his cheek, and pulling his mask back out. You followed up by reaching into the pocket of his track jacket to pull out his car key. He kept true with his promise of getting better. Still hated unnecessary crowds, but was willing to sacrifice it occasionally to accompany you to celebratory parties. Granted he tended to hang out on less populated hallways, even better when parties continued outside. More space to move. The mask also stayed on. College kids are gross.
—-
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you noticed your boyfriend move from his spot on the couch. The two of you had decided on a lazy movie night before the official finals grind began. Dead week was nearly here, and you knew the two of you would have little time to actually hang out. With the end of volleyball season, you’d been spending more time at Sakusa’s place deciding to just head there after class because it was closer. “Yoomi where are you going,” the wording came out more needed than you intended. You didn’t receive an answer, instead met with him disappearing in his room. You decided to just pause the movie, pulling out your phone to reply to a few text messages. Just as you hit send a Manila envelope was placed in your peripheral and Sakusa settled back into his corner of the couch.
“What’s this,” you questioned, shifting so that you were looking at Sakusa. The only thing you were gifted with was a shrug and a motion to open the envelope. You hesitated a moment before your eyes widened
“Wait. Kiyoomi is this…”. The confident smirk told you everything you needed to know. This was it. There was no secret that Sakusa was most likely going to go pro after graduation, but no one knew what team he’d end up playing for. He’d had many people; Professors, coaches, teammates, acquaintances, parents ask what he planned on doing now that graduation was essentially on your doorsteps. No one ever got an answer out of him, including you. He hadn’t even hinted at any team preference to you, brushing it off and changing the subject whenever you tried to see where his head was.
“Are you gonna open it or just stare.” You noted the slight waver in his voice, one that would have gone unnoticed to any ear untrained in the study of Sakusa Kiyoomi. You didn’t even know why you were so nervous, it wasn’t even your career. Taking a deep breath you pulled out the stack of papers, eyes drifting to the first paragraph mumbling the words aloud.
“We are excited to have you. We welcome your commitment to MSBY Black Jackals-“ you would have dropped the stack of papers had you not had them tugged out of your tight grip and placed on the table in front of you. “Holy shit,” you exclaimed, launching yourself at your boyfriend (uncomfortably knocking him against the corner of the couch, but he’d let you have this moment.)
Next you started babbling about how proud you were of him in between kisses all over his face. (Another thing he’d let you have for the moment despite the feel of your lip balm also sticking onto his face”). You were so happy for him, that you didn’t even notice the blush making its way on his face. His hand settling themselves on your waist, he basked in the attention from you.
When the shock managed to wear off, you had settled yourself into his lap. Sitting sideways, you had one hand playing with his hair, the other picking up your phone to record a video.
“And today, we have the greatest volleyball player in the world commuting to the greatest team in the world,” you beamed the front camera on you both.
“Look at that future (Y/N), Yoomi isn’t even swatting the camera away tonight. Looks like he looooooves me for once-“
“I always love you. You’re just annoying sometimes.” The jest was meant with a light kiss on your clothed shoulder before you continued, this time facing Sakusa instead of the camera
“Y’know. I knew right from the start there was no limit to you,” you spoke softly, eyes beaming.
“Is that so.” A real smile graced his face, as you moved the hand previously playing with his hair to gently trace over the moles on his face. “Thank you for believing.” You felt Sakusa take your phone from you cutting the camera. What took place after, definitely didn’t need to be caught on camera.
The sun is beaming. The weather is incredible . You were high on happiness, adrenaline, pride and maybe a little bit of caffeine as you currently posed for what felt like your millionth picture in the past 5 minutes. You hadn’t even found your family yet, surrounded by 100s of your peers all celebrating the same accomplishment. You did it. You were a college graduate. You had a degree. You felt another tap on your shoulder, as you happily screamed to your friend you’d made being in the same program.
“Dude I can't believe it!”
“Dude me either!” As the two of you took a quick selfie, your mind wandered to where and how Sakusa was doing. You hadn't seen him at all yet considering you both spent the mornings with your families who came into town. You wondered how he was doing with this whole thing. There were a shit ton of people out here after all. Before you could dwell on it, you felt your phone vibrate with none other than the man himself. You chuckled, already sending his irritation through the message as he told you to come to walk west, at the very edge of the crowd that was growing by the minute in the center. You sent a quick text to your mom about where you’d be, knowing your family were going to want a ton of pictures even with Sakusa.
Your excitement grew further if even possible as you finally found him, throwing your arms around his neck into a tight hug, swaying the both of you. “We did it, Sakusa,” you said, finally pulling away and eying him. He’d taken his cap off already, opting for holding it instead, and having unzipped his gown.
“We have degrees now,” he confirmed using his free hand to grab yours. “It’s too many people here.” All you could do was laugh as you eyed the control chaos going on just across the courtyard from you. You felt an odd sense of peace, just watching. The flowers planted just for graduation season even looked beautiful. Something you may not have paid nearly as much attention to had you not been dating Sakusa.
In fact, if you weren’t dating him you knew you’d be in the middle of the chaos right now. Still happy no doubt, but being able to get away from it even for a few minutes felt amazing. You’d both be thrown back into it in a matter of minutes, squeezing in the last set of pictures with best friends and holding conversations with people you’d have to get used to not seeing several times a week. You knew that Sakusa was almost guaranteed to be forced into a picture with the other graduating volleyball players.
“My families heading over I’m sure,” you hummed bringing your eyes back to Sakusa's profile. The look on his face slightly confuses you. You couldn’t quite tell if it were nerves, irritation, or just a result of squinting from the bright sun.
“We’re gonna have to head back in soon”
“Do you want to move in with me”
The two of you spoke simultaneously. It was official. This is one of the best days of your life.

Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Year 2, Month 4
“I’m gonna start dinner alright,” you called out as you pulled on one of Sakusa’s clean practice shirts and a pair of his old college sweats. Yes they were big,but they were more comfy than your own. Besides it was nothing a little, (read;a lot) of rolling and cuffing couldn’t fix. It was also his time of the month where you let him control the thermostat, and you’re cold! You’d just gotten out of the shower, him getting in shortly after coming home from a training day. The gym showers only do so much and he needed his own body wash is what he insisted the first time he came home and rushed immediately towards the bathroom.
You pulled out the sheet of paper with a recipe printed on it, courtesy of your co-worker. Earlier in the week you mentioned how you were craving chicken but no other recipe in your arsenal seemed appealing. Lo and behold you were given a sheet of paper with a recipe that apparently his family loved after experimenting with a few online recipes.
Before beginning you connect your phone to your speaker hitting shuffle. You manage to get all the ingredients out before a large knock sounds at your door. Confused, you yell out asking Sakusa if he was expecting anyone. You noticed the sounds of the shower ceased a few minutes ago, and that Sakusa would likely come to keep you company (more like sanitize the spice bottles the second you put one down.)
“Of course not,” with a shrug your wash your hands before gently opening the door. There’s a man. An attractive one- who looks oddly familiar. Wait, that guy is on Black Jackals, you note. Miya, Atsumu.
“Um hi,” you greet sounding more like a question, opening the door a bit wider.
“Shit! Did I come to the wrong apartment? I'm looking for Omi-Omi,” you noticed him trail off eyeing the shirt you were wearing. Omi-Omi? Sakusa must’ve heard him because the way he sprinted into the living room showed a scowl evident on his face. It even caused you to back up as Atsumu entered in.
“Why are you here. And how did you find where I live,” sakusa for right to the point.
“Aw c’mon Omi-Omi what if I missed ya. You left your earbuds in the locker room. Turned on you find my friends and matched the mailbox.” The glare on Sakusa’s face was one you recognized only when you genuinely irritated him. Not the one where he pretended to be annoyed but secretly wasn’t.
“But enough about that. How come you didn’t tell me you were dating. I thought we were friends. Omi-Omi,” Atsumu whined out arms crossing over his chest. As you were looking at his arms/ respectfully/ you jumped in a teasing pout of your own.
“Yeah Omi-Omi. Not telling your friends about me. A shame”
“Not you too.”
Dating Sakusa Kiyoomi: Year 2, Month 6
“You excited,” your question causes another wave of conversation between the men in the pre waiting area. Warmups were set to start in about 20 minutes. Shortly after you met Atsumu, he’d insisted you be introduced to the entire team. Afterall, other significant others got to hang out sometimes. Today was the day. Sakusa’s biggest match of his professional career yet. MSBY Black Jackals V Schweiden Adlers.
Receiving a mix of enthusiastic expletives, you turn towards your boyfriend who has yet to answer, prompting you to tease asking if he were nervous.
“No. We’re going to win,”
“That's the spirit Omi-Omi! Gonna beat Wakatoshi this time,” This time you bit back your laugh, smirking at the Miya twin’s jest. You loved getting able to take a break from being annoying.  Sakusa, as per usual, noticed it. Getting up he motioned, that you follow him outside, ignoring the teases of getting a good luck kiss.
The minute you two rounded the corner of the hallway, a warm hand enveloped yours. Your confused look prompts your boyfriend to cage you against the corner of the wall. His unoccupied hand resting against the side of your head.”
“I am excited.” While his expression remained unchanged, The look in his eyes said it all. It was the same twinkle he showed that time you two made up after admitting your love. And the one present after revealing his commitment to MSBY to you. “And you are going to win,” your reiteration caused a soft smile to catch his face.
“Here's to you and your first major game Kiyoomi. And to many more because you're a star. Now go win.”

Bad Date? (Maria Hill x reader)
Request: YES (at end of oneshot)
Content Warning: Drinking, mentions of cheating
A/N: Here you go hun! I didn’t really know how to write the reader as a tomboy so sorry if it wasn’t quite what you wanted. Oh and one bit was a tiny bit inspired by Two Weeks Notice (with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock) so if you notice that well done? Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

A loud knock at the door startled Maria out of her administration haze; she sighed, taking in the heap of strewn sheets. Her usually immaculate desktop was barely visible under the mountain of paperwork that had just been piling up endlessly since her day had started. It was already looking like she might have to stay well past her contractually mandated hours just to clear what she already had. The legal team at Stark Industries had been on the phone with her non-stop, demanding evidence or explanations that were either highly confidential, non-existent or possibly even both. Maria was honestly sick to death of having to clean up both the physical and PR messes of the Avengers.
“Come in.” She was unable to muster any energy into her order, hoping to whatever mighty being out there that it was an agent she could actually stand. Or really just any agent other than Agent Mace. He had been needlessly suffocating, bouncing into her office, whenever he so pleased, to ask a question that really only required the most miniscule amount of brainpower to be answered. It was a miracle he had ever been hired.
Y/N poked her head through the door, an easy smile tilting her lips upwards. Maria returned the infectious grin despite herself, a giddy, light sensation spreading through her chest.
“Oh, good, Agent Y/L/N. These are the mission debriefs that you filed, would you mind taking them down to Agent Coulson?” Maria rifled through the stuffed drawer by her leg and passed her a thick brown file.
Y/N grabbed it, their fingertips brushing lightly and Maria jolted slightly as an electric spark shot up her arm. “Sure, I got it.”
“Now, after you’ve dropped them down, you can start with the files for your next-”
Y/N interrupted her, smiling sheepishly, “Actually, I don’t know how much time I have. That’s what I came here to ask you about. Tony sort of set me up on a date with someone tonight.”
Maria’s heart sank, a sickening heavy feeling, and she wasn’t quite sure why. She shook it off, blaming it on a sudden bout of exhaustion and mustered an enthusiastic grin. Scraping the papers on her desk together, she stapled them together with a satisfying click.
“Great.”
Y/N took that as a dismissal as she backed away, towards the door. “I just have to figure out what to wear. I don't have anything.”
Y/N almost giggled and a wave of nausea rolled over Maria as she swallowed harshly. Y/N looked ready to soar with joy, like an entrapped bird in a cage that she held the key to.
“Have fun.” Maria couldn’t help the bitterness seeping into her words and Y/N’s face contorted, startled for a second, before schooling herself into a more composed expression.
What the hell was that. Maria was astounded as Y/N backed out without another word, a placating smile fixed to her cheeks. She attributed her sudden passive-aggressiveness on an envy of being able to leave work without feeling the immense burden of knowing how much else she had to do. But she’d never had this problem before when it came to her work-life balance.
Maybe she was finally feeling the need to get back into a relationship.
:.
Maria groaned as the clock hand hit seven and she hadn’t seemed to have made a dent int the pile. She’d have to work the night on this lot; she was prepping an incredibly time-pressured, high-stakes mission, so they were sending the team out tomorrow. The window had been made known to them only a couple hours ago, at most.
She wondered if Y/N was having a better night than her. A nice dinner out, good conversation and freely flowing wine. Then, dancing in the arms of her pretty date and maybe getting a kiss goodnight.
No. This was unprofessional. Maria shook her head, blinking hurriedly, as she tried to clear her mind of any distracting thoughts.
Work.
Right…
Eliott Callahan, ex-CIA, presumed deceased after a mission went wrong in 2007. Recently resurfaced with links to the Tribe of Salvation, an organisation that had been previously unknown until ties to the Ten Rings had been revealed. Supposedly owned a scientific reserve in North Carolina which was too heavily guarded to not be hiding anything. Callahan had given them a way in, now they needed to take the place out.
Maria’s eyes watered as she stared at the security schematics and the notes made by top SHIELD security specialists. God, she wished she had Y/N here to give her some advice on it. Y/N’s expertise was in getting into places she shouldn’t be, which is how SHIELD had found her. But Y/N was having fun on a nice date with a nice girl and Maria couldn’t help but admitting that it had brightened her day to see Y/N happy.
The last mission, Lima, had taken a toll on everyone’s mental health, and Maria couldn’t help but blame herself for the failure. Four of their top agents had been taken out and the others, who had barely survived, had still not passed their psych evals. Today had been the first time Y/N had been visibly giddy or enthusiastic about anything since then.
:.
“Hi.”
Maria scooted her chair to face the door; head buried in a document as she muttered the lines to herself as she read. Lifting her head slowly, she blinked owlishly at the figure in the door.
“Y/N?”
Y/N hovered in the doorway, still wearing a very flattering suit that Maria couldn’t help but admire. She offered Maria a small but weary smile, shifting from foot to foot.
“Come in, take a seat, how was it?” Maria wasn’t sure if she were acting enthusiastic enough to believably be realistically overjoyed for Y/N having been on a date, but she was sure she could instead pass as being worn out.
Y/N slumped into the hard-plastic chair, which rolled backwards due to her momentum. Unlacing her shoes, she yanked them off and massaged the soles of her feet. She stretched out her stocking-covered legs, gently rubbing circles into the back of her ankles and calves.
“It was horrendous,” Y/N groaned, tilting her head back in exasperation. “I mean, does Tony know me at all? Coulson made me babysit him for 3 years, he should know me better than to set me up with someone like that.”
“Like that?”
“Oh, God, she was about 20 minutes late and didn’t get off her phone the entire time. When she finally made some conversation, it was all about her ex-boyfriends. Like, not even ex-girlfriends. And she was always texting at the table. How rude is that!” Y/N’s cheeks were flushed pink and her eyes were glazed as she yawned, delicately raising a hand to cover a mouth while she stretched out like a cat. Y/N smiled sleepily at Maria as she curled into the uncomfortable chair.
Maria returned the smile softly, somewhat reassured by Y/N’s vehement complaints. “Sounds awful. No second date then?”
“God no, I’d rather be reassigned to… to the Arctic!” Y/N threw her hands up dramatically, the seat wobbling beneath her.
“That can be arranged.”
Y/N was unimpressed by Maria’s dry tone, bottom lip jutting out as she folded her arms sulkily.
A sudden thought popped into her mind. She brightened abruptly, sitting up again. “As if you’d do that. You wouldn’t survive without me.”
“You wish.” Y/N was cute while tipsy, Maria mused, before jolting at the thought. No, she was her supervisor, she could not be thinking like that.
“So, tell me.” Y/N’s chin was slipping off her hand as she yawned, elbow firmly planted on the desk. “I’ve told you how shit my date was, what’s the worst date you’ve ever been on?”
Maria paused as she took a mental step back from all the work thoughts accumulating at the back of her head. “Well, back in high school, it wasn’t really a date. At least, I hadn’t thought it was because I’d just come out. To everyone. And I went out for lunch with a friend, a guy named Tyler and he ended up telling me that he could turn me straight again. He also decided to show me the numerous photos of his penis. He had a whole folder on his phone in different lightings and from different angles.”
Y/N had clapped a hand over her mouth, “That’s horrendous, I don’t think I could ever look at someone the same if they did that. Like unsolicited and all that.”
“Yeah, definitely was the final nail in putting me off men.”
Y/N giggled, a pretty sound that Maria couldn’t help but want to hear more of.
“So,” she began, pursing her lips as she tried to think of how to continue.
“So?” Maria laughed
“Yeah, so, tell me. Is there anyone in your life? Anyone special?”
Maria snorted. “No, God no. I haven’t had the time in all honesty; I’m barely on top of my work, never mind sorting out a love life at the same time.”
“I thought… I thought that you were dating Agent Hayes?”
“No, we broke up a while ago over… mutual difference involving work and personal lives becoming too heavily involved.”
“Okay… so that’s what you wrote on the official forms about your break-up. Now, tell me again with feelings. Come on, let’s have a proper deep chat.”
“Hm.” Maria glanced back at the document she’d discarded back onto the pile and groaned. There was clearly a better option of the two. “Fine. I’m sure you are aware of Agent Hayes’ reputation.” Y/N frowned and shook her head. “As a… honey trap. It seems that she was unable to remove that part of her life from our personal lives and decided to… practice on other agents and people in our lives.”
Maria spoke bitterly, expression twisted in a grimace like she had tasted something extremely sour.
“So, basically she’s a cheating bitch.”
“Yeah.” Maria nodded. That summarised her perfectly.
“Well, fuck her, we don’t need shitty women in our lives. Am I right or am I right?” Y/N’s voice rose as she declared her statement triumphantly, sending Maria a quick grin as she pumped a fist in the air.
“Yes, you’re right.” Maria was tentative, unsure whether she wanted to ask the words on the tip of her tongue. “Anyone else in your life?”
“Well,” Y/N took a deep breath, working up the courage to do something momentous. “I did like someone, but I thought they were dating someone, so I let Tony set me up on an absolutely awful blind date.” Her voice lowered to more of a murmur. “But now I found out that the woman I like is single.”
Maria blinked. Could she-? No. Well, there was no point in not trying. “What if the woman liked you back?”
“I’d probably ask if I could kiss her.” Y/N glanced at Maria’s lips, the glaze in her eyes no longer from alcohol.
“I think she’d say yes. She’d be pretty dumb not to.”
Y/N leant in, and Maria’s breath caught in her throat. She had to be dreaming. Their lips met and every thought flew out of her head as she melted into the kiss. Maria pulled away, laughing at Y/N’s pout.
“Wait. Come here.” Maria patted her lap and Y/N eagerly straddled her legs, one hand cupping her chin, the other on the back of her head. “That’s better.”
She kissed her again, an awestruck expression appearing on Y/N’s face as she grinned blissfully. Maria could smell the sweet scent of Y/N’s perfume invading her senses, everything blurring as her mind focused in on the way Y/N seemed to fit perfectly in her arms. Or the hand gripping the hair at the base of her neck as Y/N kept her head in place, the other caressing her cheek.
As they broke apart again, Y/N stayed on Maria’s lap, wrapping her arms around her neck.
“I have to finish this work, but you’re welcome to stay and help. It’ll go twice as quickly.”
Y/N pecked her lips. “Deal.”

In Hopes You’re on the Other Side, Talking to me too
Pairing: Jack Merridew/Ralph
Word Count: 2016
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol
Jack was trying his best to be Ralph’s everything. But in the end, it wasn’t enough. So every night the redhead finds himself talking to the moon to try and win Ralph back through words that he’ll never really say to the boy. All in hopes that perhaps a certain someone is doing the exact same.
Jack hates himself more than he hates anyone else in the galaxy. Okay, maybe that’s a lie. Maybe there are a couple people worse than him but it really can’t be all that many. It’s probably one of the shortest lists to ever grace this planet, but for now he’s focusing on the fact that he just lost the best thing that has ever happened to him.
Ralph and Jack never really got along until 2 years ago. They had a horrible past of bloody fights and words that chilled the other to the bone. They were so used to painting old school tiles with each other’s blood that they didn’t really get the time to know each other much further than hatred. Until 2 years ago, on the last day of their senior year. Ralph had finally held his hand out to Jack, letting the redhead take it instead of trying to maim him. That was all that it took for the boy who previously was his rival to become fascinated with Ralph in a way other than what he initially thought. Of course, it was supposed to be a horribly inconvenient time for both of them and if he had to guess, Jack would’ve said Ralph planned it so he wouldn’t have to face the freckled boy again. However, fate had different plans for them and on their first day of college, the two had been shocked to figure out that they were located in the same hall for the next four years.
Flash forward 1 and ½ years and Jack and Ralph were helplessly in love with each other. Nobody had suspected the pairing of an easygoing business major and finance major to pair up with each other. Jack himself didn’t really notice when the shift from friends to boyfriends occurred but before he could blink an eye, he was abandoning homework assignments to be with Ralph and staying up hours past when he usually drifted off to sleep to hear the tired voice of his boyfriend giggle about people he had seen in class. 20 years old and Jack really believed he had found his soulmate. He really believed that they would be together for as long as they lived. As long as the sun burned in the sky, his hand would be in Ralph’s. Even once they passed, they would be dancing together as ghosts.
He couldn’t have been more wrong.
It was March 3rd, the weather had shifted to overcast and Jack was slammed with studying for exams. Ralph’s exams had passed a week prior and the boy had flopped on his boyfriend’s bed, eyes scanning through a phone screen. Every so often he would hammer Jack with a series of questions and the redhead would be so tired he wouldn’t really give coherent responses. Late nights studying pages that were swimming with words and an excessive amount of monster energy drinks really turned someone’s brain to absolute mush. Not to mention Ralph had been sickeningly sweet to him, as if he could persuade Jack off of his swivel chair and onto the bed. As much as he wanted to be over there, running his fingers through Ralph’s hair and whispering the boy to sleep, all he could do was let the red ink of his pen slide across paper knowing that he was one sentence closer to the warm embrace of the blond.
“Jack…”
“What’s up?” Ralph sounded wary, like the news he was about to break would simply crush Jack. Little did he know, it would.
“Jack we need to take a break.” Jack choked on his spit. “Not forever. I don’t want to be away from you forever… Unless it has to be that way. Just for a couple weeks, a couple months. However long it takes for you to realise that there’s so much more to life than what lies in those textbook pages. I mean… You have been straight up ignoring me lately and I talked to Simon about it… He agreed that what's best for us is to just take a break. I suppose I’ll see you around.”
Which leads Jack to the present day, lying on the bed Ralph once laid on, scrolling through the text messages that Ralph once sent with tears in the corners of his eyes. He wants nothing more than to have the boy back, the heat of the soccer player's body warming Jack as he presses his cheek against blond hair. The energy of the night has been doing this to him recently, the darkness shrouding him as he lets himself sun quietly into the pillow. He can’t imagine that it’s not his fault. He gave Ralph his everything but even then the boy deserves so much more. He deserves the best and Jack clearly isn’t that for him. He will never be.
Jack shuts his phone off, placing it on the nightstand that lies to his left. The only thing that lights up the room is the beam of moonlight through his awfully cheap curtains. The flimsy white fabric barely blocks out anything, but even the inanimate object seems to be trying harder than Jack. The clock on his nightstand reads 23:57, signalling to the boy that even though exams are long over, he will still be up for at least another 3 hours. Not studying like he used to. No, he stopped studying the day that he took his final test, body filled with too much sorrow to even review the content properly. Recently the redhead has picked up the hobby of sitting cross legged in front of his window on the second floor of building B and he talks. He talks to the moon, to the stars, but most importantly he talks to Ralph. Whether the blond listens or not, he really isn’t sure. It’s not like his ex-boyfriend would ever be able to hear his cracked voice stumble over words as he spills his heart out to the endless night. Normally Jack wouldn’t even let himself be weak enough as to think about a head of blond hair for one more minute of one more day. And he does play a very clever façade in front of Roger and Maurice. He acts like Ralph doesn’t exist, like the hole in his heart doesn’t ache every time tan skin and ocean blue eyes filled with joy cross his path. On the days he isn’t sitting in his room, all alone, he’s out with his friends letting sweaty bodies press up against him as music blares. Drinks spill from red cups and onto the floor and all Jack can think about is how none of the people that choose to plaster themselves to him are Ralph. None of the people who cover his mouth with theirs, only to be quickly shoved off and sworn at, are the boy who he wishes would drunkenly kiss him. As much as he prays that Roger will show up empty handed with a party invite, at least once a week the raven haired boy is smirking at him with a bottle of booze clutched tightly in his fist. In order to seem like he’s the same sick person he was before he dated Ralph, he gives his friend an equally mischievous smile and takes the bottle.
Perhaps all of these emotions that Jack is feeling are Ralph’s fault. Or at least a byproduct of the fair boy. Before he let the boy ruin his life with ease, he was so cold hearted and had no fucks left to give. But for once, he had something to fight for that wasn’t himself. For once in his 20 years of life, Jack had someone who loved him just as much as he loved them. Which is why Ralph had always mattered more than a stupid party or nagging from his mates. He would’ve dropped the world to hold Ralph. Yes, that has to be it. All the crying had been because the blond’s soft heart had destroyed Jack. It had left him in a million pieces and as much as he didn’t want himself to be weak, as much as he hated himself for crying, it was happening.
Jack lets his body move over to the window, legs almost giving out underneath him as he falls into the place he’s become to know so very well over the past months. Roger didn’t invite him out today, but he doesn’t exactly blame the boy. There’s at least one party Roger attends every night, but bringing the heartbroken finance major who shoves off anyone who tries to make a move probably isn’t the best look for him. So instead Jack is sitting in the oversized pullover sweater with the college’s name plastered across the front that he got at orientation. He doesn’t need a mirror to know that his hair is all mussed and he probably looks like the human embodiment of death.
“Hey Ralph. I know you’re not talking to me… And you probably can’t even hear me. But I miss you. A lot. It’s really not in my character to miss people so that’s probably why this feels so weird.” Jack can’t help the sad laughter that bubbles up in his chest and escapes his lips. It just happens as naturally as breathing. “You know, I never thought that it would be you that I fell in love with. But here we are. I would’ve torn apart galaxies with my bare hands and rebuilt ones that would shield you from any pain. I don’t know how you’re feeling but I do know how I am. I miss the big smiles that you would give people when they said something hilarious, I miss the genuine laughs that you only did when we were alone. I miss the way your eyes mimic the ocean waves and dance like the sea. I miss the soft press of your hand against mine, and how they fit together like pieces of a puzzle. I miss you.” The same words that have been rolling off of his tongue for weeks come easy now, eyes not watering with tears quite yet. This is always the easy part. Simple things that anyone would miss when they lose their lover. However, Jack isn’t even close to finished and he knows his freckles will be stained with tears sometime soon.
“I miss the way you used to jump into my arms after you won a game despite being hideously dirty. I miss how you used to drag me out to look at every sunset because you wanted to find a beautiful part of every day…” His voice cracks at the end, memories swarming around like bees to honey. Every simple thing the fair boy did, probably without thought, now haunted Jack. The sweet gestures lived behind his eyes now, only as memories. A part of him wants to stop missing Ralph and just get on with his life. Live like a normal human being instead of one who can barely function without someone else there. He knows that eventually it will happen. It always does. Ralph has probably already moved on, found someone new to waste the days away with.
“Hey Ralph…” Jack starts tracing a pattern onto the knee of his sweatpants with his finger, eyes locked on the stars. Everything about the moment slows, the dancing lights in his peripheral, from a party in another building, the twinkling of the stars, the rush of wind against his face. Jack lets his heavy eyelids flutter shut, praying that one day, at some point, he’ll finally have an answer to the question that lays heavy on his tongue. All the sleepless nights and words that only he can hear lead to the same place. Like a winding road that always spits you out right where you began. All he can do is hope Ralph hears him, hope Ralph is right there with him whispering words to the moon that sits high in the sky.
“One day, will you love me again?”

- one week later -
You dropped your lunch tray onto the table in front of you and sank into the nearest seat.
“Aizawa-sensei really wasn’t messing around when he said he wanted us to experience death,” you sighed, bringing your elbows up on the table and resting your head in your hands.
Any time not spent in the classroom during school hours was spent in intense training situations. It had been a major wake-up call for people who hadn’t previously dedicated time in their weeks to training and conditioning.
“He just wants us to succeed,” Momo stated proudly. She placed her tray next to yours and sat down on the seat beside you.
Izuku shrugged as he prodded at the vegetables on his tray. “I dunno. He seemed pretty dead-set on having me expelled last week.”
“Even as first years, it’s important for us to start preparing for what life will be like as pros!” Momo replied. “Criticism and all.”
You nodded as you listened to your friends replies.
Since starting at UA, you’d found it fairly easy to get along with a few of your fellow classmates. And as much as you loved Mina, it was good to get a break from her talkativeness as she found her way into her own group of friends.
“Mr. Aizawa is a pro hero himself, after all,” Tenya stated. “My older brother, Tensei, the pro hero Ingenium, was in the same class as he was when they were here at UA.”
“Oh, really?” You replied with a bright, interested smile.
You’d always been interested in the backgrounds of the pros, and it was so cool to you that you could get to know them better now that you had them as teachers.
“We should ask Mr. Aizawa about-“
You were interrupted by a brush against your back.
“Hey, y/n!” Mina grinned down at you, lunch tray in hand. “We need to meet up this weekend and talk about plans for your birthday. It’s coming up sooner than you think,” she said with a wink.
“Oh, yeah,” you agreed, checking the date on your phone. Though the week felt long and arduous, it really did seem to fly by quickly. “You’re right. I’ll text you about it tonight, alright?”
“Sounds good to me,” the curly-haired girl replied.
“Your birthday is coming up?” A soft, low voice asked from the other side of you.
You turned to see Shouto sitting down in the empty seat on the side of you opposite of Momo.
“Mhm,” you nodded. “It’s next Friday, actually. My sixteenth.”
“Oooh! That’s when you’ll see a color for the first time!” Ochaco grinned widely from across the table. “I always hear such sweet things about people seeing their first colors and meeting their soulmates.”
Ochaco held her hands over her heart and swayed a bit in her chair. “My parents always tell me the story of how they saw their colors and met.”
You didn’t really want to show too much excitement about the prospect of meeting your soulmate. What if it was someone in the cafeteria with you? You definitely didn’t want to seem desperate.
Shouto was a bit confused at Ochaco’s words about the significance of a sixteenth birthday. What was so special about seeing a certain color? And what did that have to do with soulmates?
If he was being honest with himself, Shouto had never given the idea of soulmates more than a passing thought. The idea of a romantic relationship barely ever crossed his mind without so much as a quick scoff as he dismissed the idea. His parents definitely hadn’t been soulmates, and he surely could not let a relationship distract him from his dream of becoming a hero.

Chapter 1: Killian Jones
The hotel room was littered with empty bottles of rum and beer, it smelled of smoke, leather, and sex. The naked girl strung out on the expensive leather couch had passed out hours previously from too much drink.
“Lass, do share!” Killian tipped his glass back, the sting from the alcohol had been dulled six drinks previously.
The brunette gyrated on top of his lap, rubbing her center against his naked form. She passed the $100 bill to him and then began slithering a trail of wetness against his skin with her tongue. He pushed her out of his way to lean forward, rolling the bill and inhaling the white powder into his nose, his head fell back against the chair. His eyes closed, letting the feeling wash over him.
The girl continued her duty, eagerly sucking his cock while her hands caressed his chest. Her fingers trailed the flesh on his left arm, and he reached out with his right hand, grabbing a fist full of her hair and yanking her away from him. She stared at him wide eyed. “No, you can touch me anywhere but there.” He growled, shoving her back down to his groin.
He closed his eyes again, getting lost in the swirls of her tongue and the euphoric sensations of her mouth gloriously working his cock. “Mm, Milah.” He groaned.
“Who the hell is Milah?” The girl stopped her eager work.
His eyes blew open, looking down at the dark-haired girl who was staring at him angrily. “Mary?” He said warily. “Nancy?” He pressed his fingers to his head and squeezed his eyes shut trying to remember the damn woman’s name. “Janice?” he said snapping his fingers.
“It’s Abby.”
“Who cares.”
The girl got up from his lap and walked toward her friend who was passed out on the couch. “Fuck you.”
“I already did that, twice, and I don’t seem to remember any complaints, darling.” He leaned over and took another snort. His vision distorting slightly. “Get back over here, it’s not going to suck itself.” The girl reluctantly walked back toward him. “Abby love, please.” He added.
He took another shot of rum as the girl reluctantly returned to continue her task of pleasuring him. “You’re damn good at that love, my heart is absolutely racing.” He groaned, sweat pouring off his forehead.
She stopped her task, “You sure you’re ok, Mr. Jones?”
“What are you bloody stopping for?” He yelled, grabbing the bottle next to him, and tipping it into his mouth. His hand slid onto his erect member, tugging himself to try and reach the release he so desperately needed. “Do I have to do this for you?”
His heart really was racing. The girl stepped back from him, retreating to the couch to try again and wake her friend.”
“Who needs you.” He growled angrily. “I’ll do it my damn self.”
He closed his eyes. Dark hair invading his thoughts. Images racing across his lids.
“I love you Milah.” The scenes played out like a movie on fast forward in his brain. “Why would you do this?” Blurring, bright lights, his headache was blinding him. “Killian, you shouldn’t…” His heart was pounding out of his chest. “Oh God what have I done?” Red lights and rain?
Wait. Was it raining in his room?
Darkness was threatening to swallow him, he was screaming into the night.
“Killian, wake up.”
He could faintly hear someone speaking to him. He tried to respond; words didn’t come.
“Call 911.”
 Present Day
Killian watched the land come into view, a bright patch of green over a sea of blue. It was a beautiful sight that he would surely have welcomed if he were here for pleasure.
“At least you’ll have a gorgeous view during your stay.”
Killian glared at the man sitting across from him, gripping the leather handle on his seat. “Yeah, I’m sure sightseeing is the first thing they sign you up for, right after racquetball and cricket.” He grumbled sarcastically.
“I know you’re upset with everyone, KJ, but you know we had no other choice, right?”
Killian looked away, glancing out the window again to focus on the ground as the wheels touched down.
He stood when the plane came to a stop and walked toward the exit. Robin got up and followed him. When he got to the steps he turned around and faced the man. “I think I can turn myself in Dad.”
Robin rolled his eyes. “I’m just trying to be here for you.”
“I think you’ve done enough Rob. Go home.” Killian turned and bounded down the steps, grabbing his bag from the pilot, and storming toward the car waiting for him.
“Killian Jones?” The man asked.
“Yup, I’m the lucky bloke!” He said mockingly and climbed into the backseat.
“Welcome to Wonderland.”
“Wonderland? You can’t be serious. What a bloody stupid name.” He mused but the man simply shut the door behind him.
The trip from the small airport only took five minutes, Killian watched the beauty of the island zoom past through the darkened windows of the limo. He slammed back against the headrest and squeezed his eyes closed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Killian, this has to stop, you almost died this time. Do you think this is what mom would have wanted for you?” “And yet I’m still here.” “Is that what you want? To not be here? Because I can’t decide if this is a death wish or you are just fucking stupid.”
The car came to a sudden halt, he let out a long groan and peered through his eyes. The door opened and he stepped out into the sunlight.
“Welcome to Wonderland Rehabilitation Center, Mr. Jones.” The moment he left the car, he was greeted by a man in a security uniform. “Names Graham, Pleasure to meet you. I happened to hear the call that you were arriving and wanted to greet you personally. Can I just say how much I loved “Seasick”? That song changed my life, man.”
“Oh good, a fan. Splendid.” He said sarcastically as he brushed past the man and up the walkway to the entrance.
He heard the guard’s footsteps behind him. “I checked you in, but you’ll need to meet with Regina.”
“Well point me in the way of this Regina then and let’s get on with it.”
“You’ve found her.” A dark-haired woman was standing at the front desk, her dark suit and heels told him that this was a woman who liked to be in charge. “Regina Mills. I’m the Manager here at WRC.”
“I suppose this is where you read me the rules and tell me how its going to be, scared straight or something, right?”
“Something like that.” She grinned and gestured for him to follow her.
“So, you’ve met Graham, he’s my head of security, so if you step out of line, break any of my rules, I’ll know about it.” She opened the door to her office and sat at her desk, waving her hand to the chair across from her.
“Just tell me what I need to do to get out of here.”
“Ready to leave so soon?” She mused.
“No, just eager to get back to my life.”
“Ah yes, Killian Jones, Mother died when you were four. You lived with your father, Brennan and brother, Liam until you were 17, dropped out of high school when your dad died and started a band with your high school buddy Robin Locksley at 18.” She turned the page in his file. “How am I doing so far?”
He rolled his eyes. “I’m not here for a history lesson.”
“I wasn’t finished.” She cut him off. “Let’s see, got your lucky break playing in a bar when you were 22, signed to a 1-year contract with Capitol Records. What’s the name of your little band?”
“The Sea Dogs and it’s not exactly little.”
“Ah that’s right. Your 1-year contract turned into a multi record deal, didn’t it?”
“Aye, we won a Grammy, actually.”
“Never really understood your band honestly, the sea doesn’t have dogs. Never the matter, where did I leave off, ah your aspiring acting career. Three picture deal, isn’t that correct?”
He nodded. “Yes, the last film starts production in 6 months. Hence my need to finish this up.”
“You can’t rush recovery, Mr. Jones.”
“Then does this little story have a point, or should we continue wasting my time?”
“The point is, I don’t care who you are. You’re not here on vacation, this isn’t a spa. If you want to leave WRC, I expect you to work for it. You’ll find that we have many special people here. Movie stars, musicians, billionaires, the fact of the matter is, I don’t give a damn who you are. You’re all the same here.” She tossed his file onto the desk. “Addicts.”
His jaw was tense.
“The sooner you realize that’s who you are, that’s when your recovery can start and not a second sooner. Until then you’re just another rich guy hiding from his problems on my island.”
“Well, this was uplifting. Are all the sessions going to be this inspirational because I want to make sure I get my money’s worth.”
“You’ll have individual therapy sessions 3 times a week and group session once a week with Dr. Hopper. There is a cafeteria where you will have all your meals, any medication will be provided to you by Dr. Whale. I understand you are still in the process of physical therapy since the…”
“That is correct, I assume my physical therapy will continue with Dr. Whale also?”
“Yes. There is a gym where you can work out on your down time, as well as yoga classes that are hosted by our recreational therapist and dietician Zelena West.”
“Yoga sounds most interesting.” He mused sarcastically.
“Lights out is at 10pm. No sex of any kind.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“No sex. I would assume that is self-explanatory, Jones or do I need to provide you the rules in a book with pictures?”
“No Ma’am. But 10pm? Honestly, I’m going to miss Big Brother After Dark, and who doesn’t love a good reality show with drama, am I right?”
“I think you’ll find that the sooner you take things seriously, Mr. Jones, the better your stay here will go for you.” She glared at him. “Now if I can just get you to sign some paperwork for me and turn in your cell phone and any personal items into this bag. I will have it locked up so you can gather them when you leave.” He pulled his phone from his pocket, tossing it into the bag.
“Did you need to check your messages or send any before you turn it over?”
“Nope, don’t have anyone I care to communicate with.”
“Well, if you change your mind, you are permitted to make your first phone call after completing 14 days of treatment. After that you will have access to the phone in the lounge during the hours of 9am to 9pm.”
“Am I scheduled for restroom breaks as well or am I allowed to take those as necessary?”
She stared a hole through him. “Dr. Hopper is going to have a field day with you.” She chuckled dryly.
There was a knock on the door and a fair skinned man in a white coat poked his head into the room.
“Did you call me for a patient meet and greet?”
“Ah yes, Dr. Whale, may I introduce you to Killian Jones.”
The man stepped into the room and extended his hand, withdrawing quickly when he looked down at his missing limb and swapping the hand he extended. “Nice to meet you. How long has it been?” He asked, pointing to his lack of appendage.
“Long enough to not want to talk about it.” Regina cleared her throat and Killian internally groaned. “Three months.”
“I got the notes from your previous physical therapist so we will continue strength exercises three days a week starting tomorrow.”
“I can hardly contain my glee.”
Dr. Whale exchanged a glance with Regina. “Oh, Dr. Hopper is going to love him.” She nodded with a smirk on her face. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He remarked before turning and leaving him alone with the abrasive woman on the other side of the desk.
“So, when do I get to go to my room to sit and reflect on my life.”
“Ah yes, let me take you to your room now.” She stood, depositing his items in her desk drawer, and locking it behind her. “This way.”
He followed her down the corridor, noting all the windows lining the hallway with views of the ocean. He wished again that he were here for a different reason. “Here you go Mr. Jones.”
He stopped before entering the room. “Jones is fine, Mr. Jones is my father, and he’s no longer among the living.”
“Alright Jones, home sweet home.”
He stepped into the room, more windows looking out onto the island. His eyes settled on the two beds in the room. “Um, I’m pretty sure this is costing me a hefty penny, but care to explain why I need two beds?”
“You must be the new guy.” A man pushed past him into the room.
“This is your roommate, August.”
“Roommate? I thought this place allowed privacy and solidarity.”
“Did I forget that rule, sorry about that. For the first 2 weeks, all patients are paired with someone who has already completed their first 14 days.”
“I don’t need a bloody babysitter.” Lowering his voice and turning toward Regina.
“Think of him more as a buddy.” She appeared to be taking joy in his discomfort and anger.
“I don’t need one of those either.” He growled.
She turned on her heels and started off down the hallway. “Dr. Hopper will see you in 20 minutes. Don’t be late. Your buddy can help you find your way there.”
He clinched his fist, watching the woman click her heels on the tile until she turned the corner and disappeared. He spun around and stepped into the room.
“It goes by quickly.” His new babysitter was sitting on one of the beds reading a book.
“Not quick enough.” He tossed his bag on the empty bed.
“You’re that guy, aren’t you?” He stood up and pretended to look off into the distance. “Ahoy Matey there’s land ahead.” Killian groaned and tossed his clothes into the empty dresser. “Sorry, but you’re pretty recognizable.”
“Fantastic.”
“Secrets safe with me. No one cares who anyone is here anyway.”
“How long have you been here?”
“24 days. You get used to the way things work around here after the first week.”
“Not bloody likely.” He grumbled.
“Hey, don’t fight it, trust me, the first guy I stayed with when I got here has been here 6 months and still keeps breaking the rules, at this rate, he’s never leaving.” Killian thought about his situation. He knew the more he resisted the longer he would be stuck on this island and he wanted nothing more than to leave this place and get back to set.
“Perhaps you have a point. If you would be so kind as to show me to Dr. Hopper’s office, I would much like to get a start on getting the hell out of here.”
He followed the man down the hallways, a maze of rights and lefts until they exited the building and crossed a lush green lawn to a small building on the other side of the complex. “First door on your right.” August pointed toward the building. “Good luck.”
He stepped through the doors and was greeted by a friendly, curly haired man, “You must be Mr. Jones, I’m Dr. Hopper, but you can call me Archie.”
“Killian will be fine, Archie.”
“Alright, Killian, please join me in my office.”
Killian walked into the room, not at all surprised to see the long couch and leather chair. He nervously took a seat on the couch and looked around. “So, uh how does this work, do I lie down, or can we skip that part?”
The man laughed. “None of that is necessary, unless that makes you comfortable. Our sessions will happen three times a week, sometimes I may ask you questions, other times you may feel like sharing, but really, the most important part at WRC is that we make sure you don’t ignore the mental part of your recovery.” Killian shifted uncomfortably on the couch. He had no idea how he was supposed to sit here and share anything with this man, a man he had just met. “What exactly are we supposed to talk about?”
“How about we talk about what brought you here.”
Killian looked at the ceiling. “My bandmate, Robin brought me.”
“Not who, but what was the reason you chose to come to Wonderland?”
Killian laughed loudly. “Chose, that’s an interesting way to put it.”
“And how would you put it?”
“Forced, not given much choice, ordered to come, your pick I guess.”
“And yet you’re here.”
“Yeah, did you know that there’s a moral clause in contracts?” He clicked his tongue in his mouth in annoyance. “Guess I should have read the fine print.”
“So, you’re here because your behavior was deemed to be in breach of contract?”
“Something like that, yeah.”
“And do you think your behavior was acceptable?”
“I think my behavior was no one’s business but my own.”
He nodded and then wrote a few sentences in his notebook.
“What? Was that the wrong answer?” Killian said dryly.
“I’m just taking notes, it doesn’t mean that I agree or disagree with anything you have said. I’m merely here to observe your response.” He put down his pencil and looked back at Killian. “Tell me about the night of the accident.”
Killian’s jaw clenched and he formed a fist with his right hand. “I don’t know what that has to do with anything.”
“Interesting response. You had attended a premiere for your first movie, is that correct?”
“What were you doing talking to him?” “We were just talking, Killy. He’s your co-star.” “Bullshit. Don’t lie to me.” “Killian, would you stop acting like this.” “I’ll stop acting like this when you start telling the goddamn truth.” “I’m not going to talk to you while you’re drunk.” “No but you’ll fuck him when he’s drunk, isn’t that right Milah?” “Fuck you.”
Killian flinched when he heard the man sit forward in his seat. “This is fucking pointless.” He growled.
“Neverland? That was the name of the movie, right?”
Killian stood up suddenly and began pacing. “How much longer do we need to talk about this today?”
The man shut his notebook. “This is your time, if this is too overwhelming for you on your first day, we can pick this back up in our next session.”
“Thrilling, I can’t wait.” Killian raced out the door, almost sprinting across the lawn before he found a spot against the wall underneath a tree and paused. He leaned against the building trying to calm his breathing. He said he would come here after his detox in order to satisfy his director, but he would be damned if he was going to spend his days baring his soul to a stranger about things he hadn’t even shared with his brother.
He agreed to lay off the drugs, he begrudgingly swore off rum to make everyone happy, but this went too far.
He was going to have to find a way around this therapist BS if he was going to get out of here.
He shoved off the wall and walked back toward his room, pausing as he passed the front desk. Blonde hair and gorgeous legs capturing his attention. “Name, please.”
The blonde rolled her eyes. “Emma.” She glared at Graham. “Swan.”
“Say’s Nolan in my logbook.”
“Listen asshole, it’s Emma Swan. Update your damn records.”
He licked his lips, working his eyes down to the curve of the woman’s ass. Maybe this place wouldn’t be so terrible after all.
Notes:
Here we go again... I will try and post an update once a week. This one will be longer than my last fic and requires a lot more research, so it may take a bit longer to update than MHFLB did.

license to kill - nakamoto yuta | part 2
part two to my yuta bodyguard!au. heres the link to part one if you haven’t read it yet :)
2.7k words, fluff&angst, slow-burn <3
Tumblr media
You woke back in your room, with (surprise, surprise) Nakamoto inches from your face. Gasping in a breath of air, you shot upwards in bed as the boy jumped back with cat-like reflexes. You immediately let out an involuntary groan as pain shot through your leg. Closing your eyes to bear the brunt of your injury, you asked, with gritted teeth,
‘What happened?’
‘You got in the car and passed out.’ Nakamoto replied, infuriatingly neutrally.
‘How did you-’
‘97% of hostages always make a attempt at escape within the first twenty-four hours of captivity.’
‘So you admit it?’
‘W-’
‘That I’m a hostage!’
Nakamoto let out a puff of air. You supposed that was the closest he ever got to a sigh. ‘You’ve added a month of recovery time to your leg.’
‘Why won’t you let me go home?’
‘This is my job.’ He ran his hand through his slicked-back hair. You took the moment of silence to look around the room. Your entire suitcase had been unpacked, from your Burberry trenches in the cupboard, to your stack of Vogue’s fanned out on the desk. Nakamoto himself was still wearing a hideously dad-like knitted sweater, an item of clothing you were beginning to fear he possessed an extensive collection of.
‘Do you want anything?’
‘Huh?’ You snapped your gaze back up to his face.
‘I’m making dinner.’
You were taken aback. ‘Um. Pasta?’
‘Oh. I’ve made curry.’
You swore you could see the first glint of humour in his eyes as he turned around to attend to the kitchen.
-
Three weeks into being quarantined with Nakamoto, and your leg had still not healed. Apparently you had at least six months before it was normal, and another three until you could even walk with crutches. At the moment, you were being carried around the cabin by your silent bodyguard - which hadn’t stopped you from asking questions at any hour of the day.
You had decided on a different plan of attack. Get to know Nakamoto, butter him up, and then manipulate him into doing anything you wanted. It had worked on every nanny or other bodyguard you had had previously, so there was no reason why it wouldn’t work on him. Besides, without your electronic lifeline to the real world, what else was there to do?
‘What’s your star sign?’ You asked at breakfast.
‘Are you a cat or a dog person?’ As he cleaned the kitchen.
‘What's your favourite Taylor Swift song?’ Whilst piggybacking to the living room.
‘Can you ride a bike?’ Over veggie burgers at lunch.
‘Were you better at Maths or English at school?’ As he hoovered around the sofa.
‘What’s your go-to karaoke song?’ As you tried to peer over his shoulder to peek at his laptop screen.
‘Who’s your celebrity crush?’ Kicked off the (one-sided) dinner conversation.
‘How many languages do you speak?’ As he flicked off your bedroom lights.
You asked questions constantly, relentless in your delivery. You lost sleep wracking your brain to think of new ones to ask the next day. Your persistence had continued for just under a week before finally-
‘Murakami.’
‘What?’ You had been lounging in your favourite armchair, curled up by the fire, but you shot straight up, ignoring the pain in your leg at the sudden movement, to twist around in shock.
Nakamoto had been sitting at the desk in the corner, hunched over his laptop, as always - so still you weren’t sure if he had actually spoken at all.
‘My favourite author is Murakami. You asked this morning.’
‘Oh!’ You felt a grin creep onto your face. ‘Cool!’ You dared not ask another question, for fear of scaring him into silence again.
‘He writes in Japanese. Translates the novels into English himself.’ Nakamoto stood up, walking smoothly across the room to you. He deposited a book on your lap.
‘Colourless-’
‘-Tsuru Tazaki-’ He joined in with you as you finished reading the title together.
‘-And his Years of Pilgrimage.’
‘It’s short.’ You remark, pleased.
‘It’s not my favourite, but its,’ he paused, picking his words, ‘probably more accessible for you.’
You huffed, pretending to be offended in an attempt to hide your relief. You didn’t think you’d read a book since English class in Eighth Grade.
‘Guess I’ll read it then,’ You sighed, as he made his way to the kitchen to start preparing lunch. ‘It’s not like I have anything better to do!’ You called after his retreating figure.
Staring down at the book on your lap, you groaned. Great. You thought. As if my life couldn’t get any worse. Now I have to read to make this stupid boy fall in love with me.
-
A week later, however, you were singing a different tune. You put the book down, more or less for the first time since you had first picked it up, and screamed at the top of your lungs.
‘NAKAMOTOOOO!’
You could barely finish the word when he materialised at the door, visibly out of breath.
‘What’s wrong? Has someone broken in? Is it your leg? I told you not to slide down the stai-’
‘I finished it!’ You squealed, watching him slump against the doorframe.
‘Jesus, I thought you were-’
‘It was amazing! The best book I’ve ever read! Do you have any more?’
Nakamoto straightened and blinked a few times, frowning at you slightly. ‘Well- I, um- yeah. What did you like about the book?’
‘Oh, um, everything! The characters were amazing, and the dreams were sick! Do you have any more?’
‘Ok.’ He paused, seeming to be mulling over something in his head. ‘How about you write down what was good - on a post-it note. Or whatever. And I’ll find you another one of his books that’s similar.’
Now it was your turn to blanch. ‘You want a book report?’
You thought you could see Nakamoto’s cheeks flush a minute shade darker, however you couldn’t be sure from across the room. ‘No, not like- If you don’t want to, I’m not going to force you, it would just be easier if I-’
‘No, no, that’s cool!’
A pause.
‘Ok. Um, get it to me whenever.’ Nakamoto slowly turned, and left the room. You realised that was the first time you have ever seen him even close to flustered.
Damn. You thought to yourself. Who would’ve thought that reading was the way to that man’s heart?

Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki and his Years of Pilgrimage
- Characters multi-dimensional, complex, well-thought-out
- Mystery within plot - ambiguities
- Dreams presented in an unusual way
★★★★★!! Thank you Nakamoto! ☺
You sighed, staring down at the note. For what was essentially three sentences, it came as a surprise to you that it had taken you the majority of the afternoon to craft. You found yourself asking again, whether or not it was too friendly, or too cold. You leaned back in your chair, groaning loudly.
‘Everything ok?’ Nakamoto had materialised in your doorway.
You jumped out of your skin. ‘What?! Oh, um, yeah.’ You let out a vapid giggle. ‘Here’s the review!’ You shoved the book into his hand, staring determinedly down at your feet.
-
Three months into your prison sentence, you had read pretty much everything Murakami had written. You had surprised even yourself - reading so avidly you were pretty much one of his biggest fans now. This week, you were going so far as to read his memoir.
However, the one thing within your literary awakening that had, frustratingly, stayed completely the same, was Nakamoto’s silence. He stayed stoically monosyllabic despite the fact your persistent questions had continued at the same force as that first week. Your only form of communication was limited to the post-it notes you shoved into the pages of your novels. You had expanded your reviews to include reactions to the happenings within the pages. Every time a character reacted, or event occurred, you added a small post-it note with your shock, elation or anger in response. The books were then returned to Nakamoto in silence, and after a week or so, appeared back on your desk, with tiny, capitalised responses to your post-its.
What?! Noo, Toru, why?!!
ʜᴇ ʜᴀᴅ ᴛᴏ ɢᴏ ᴅᴏᴡɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴇʟʟ - ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴄᴏᴠᴇʀ ʜɪs ᴡɪғᴇ!! ʜᴏᴡ ᴅᴀʀᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ɪɴsᴜʟᴛ ʜɪᴍ
Sumire and K better get together - I swear!!
ᴏғ ᴄᴏᴜʀsᴇ ʏᴏᴜ sᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏsᴛ ᴜɴʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜʏ ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ ᴏғ ᴀʟʟ ᴛɪᴍᴇ.... ᴛʏᴘɪᴄᴀʟ
Your banter went on for chapters and chapters. You had discovered Nakamoto was surprisingly smart, not to mention witty - he always had a sharp retort for your comments: it was very rare that the two of you agreed on, well anything. He was infuriatingly stubborn and cynical - always expecting the worst from the characters, always rooting against the couples.
However, that didn’t prevent, despite Nakamoto’s clear resistance, the two of you developing - not a friendship, exactly, but more like a... comradeship, you supposed. He refused to engage in live conversation, but was clearly eager to discuss literature. You suspected he was just as bored as you were.
You were able to walk by yourself now, shuffling around the cabin on crutches, thanking your lucky stars that your bedroom was on the first floor, and so the main contact you had with him was when he brought you meals, and of course, the dialogue you sustained through the post-it notes.
That’s why you were surprised when one evening he paused before leaving your room. He seemed to be internally debating on whether or not to say anything.
‘Nakamoto?’ You dared.
‘I’m going down to the village tomorrow.’ He blurted out, avoiding your gaze. ‘We’re almost out of food, and well, books.’
‘Oh.’ You had to agree, as your dinner for the past few days had essentially consisted of some kind of bean stew, which, no matter how delicious Nakamoto made taste, was starting to get slightly repetitive.
‘You could come. No one will recognise you, and it’s easier than worrying-’ He cleared his throat. ‘-wondering if you’ve tried to kill yourself walking down those steps again.’
Your eyes widened. ‘Really?’
He shrugged. ‘As long as you wear a coat. You seem to reject the cold weather as if catching hypothermia is optional.’
‘A hoe never gets cold!’ You breezed back, out of habit. It was a response you were used to giving when traipsing around cities in the winter in your mini-dresses, all for the pursuit of fashion.
You did not anticipate the way Nakamoto choked, red flushing into his ears. ‘Um, just-’ He collected himself, smoothing back out his posture and facial expression. ‘8AM tomorrow. Be ready.’
And with that, he was gone.
That next morning, you were up by 6:30, dragging yourself to your bedside table to get organised. The majority of last night had been spent picking out an outfit - you were surprised at how much effort you were putting in to go meet a bunch of primitive villagers in the middle of nowhere, But hey, you guessed to yourself, being trapped inside for three months changes a person.
By 7:30 your makeup had been completed, and your outfit donned, aside from the Dior gilet, hat and gloves which you had picked out as a compromise to Nakamoto’s berating. This had surprised you - you were not exactly a person who compromised. It felt strange, but not in a bad way - which surprised you even more.
As soon as Nakamoto walked into your room at 8:55 he scoffed at your outfit.
‘What?’ You recoiled at the twinge of hurt that had stung your stomach.
‘Do you really think walking into that village with a monogrammed-designer-sleeveless-coat-thing is going to help you blend in? Take this.’ He tossed you the plan black coat that had been draped over his arm.
‘What about-’
‘I have a spare. I’ll go get it.’
You sighed, turning towards your mirror as you swapped your coats. You looked... ordinary. A pair of (albeit perfectly tailored) jeans that could easily be passed off as - you shuddered - off-the-rack, a nondescript black coat, and a singular snow shoe - your other leg covered with a medical boot. Applying another coat of lipgloss, you rolled your eyes. Whatever. At least Nakamoto won’t laugh at me again.
Walking through the village, you were forced to lean on Nakamoto’s arm, as he half-dragged you through the snow. You made slow progress, stopping at various butcher shops, bakeries and delis in order to stock up on food for the next few months. It was almost an hour before you had completed your purchases, walking down the singular high street. You were about to turn around, when-
‘Nakamoto! A bookstore!’ You gasped, turning to him with shining eyes.
‘We’re only here for foo-’
‘Oh, don’t be silly.’ You dragged him along, hobbling through the door in your excitement.
Brushing the snow off of your good foot, you abandoned your bodyguard, hopping around the store in pursuit of more Murakami. The small building was deceptively large on the inside, boasting multiple floors, and countless shelves. After having searched for just under ten minutes, you were infuriated to discover you had already read all the Murakami novels in stock - which meant Nakamoto definitely had. Disappointed, but undeterred, you kept sifting through the bookshelf, eagerly searching for something - though you were not sure exactly what. After another few minutes, you turned around triumphantly, ready to barge over to Nakamoto, only to discover he was standing right behind you.
‘Naka- oh!’ You exclaimed, staring up at him. ‘I found this for you - we should read it together!’ You shoved the book into his hands as you rambled on. ‘It’s called Out, and though it’ll be different stylistically it looks like it explores themes that act as the antithesis of-’
‘Thank you.’ He murmured, taking the book from your grasp.
Your gaze shot down as you watched his fingers brush against yours. You almost jumped out of your skin at the electric shock that zipped through his touch.
Nakamoto had turned to bring the book to the cashier, but you were frozen in place. This was like nothing you had ever felt before. Sure, you had had crushes, and boyfriends, but nothing had ever felt the way Nakamoto’s fingertips on yours had.
What the fuck.
‘Are you coming or not?’ He called from the counter, and you limped to his side, now hyperaware of the inches of distance between you.
‘You two look so cute!’ The old lady working the til enthused. ‘You reminded me of my husband and I, right when we first started dating.’
‘Oh, we’re not-’ You tried to clarify.
‘-That serious yet!’ Nakamoto beamed at the woman, throwing his arm around you, and sending another shockwave through your body. ‘But thank you for the compliment, it’s very nice of you!’
He grabbed the paper bag and whisked you out of the store quicker than you thought humanly possible.
‘What was that about?!’ You spluttered, cheeks heating up.
‘What’s going to look more suspicious - a young rich couple holidaying in the alps, or two random strangers appearing in the village?’ He asked.
You didn’t know how to respond, lost for words with your bodyguard for the first time in your entire life. You followed him to the car in silence.
What did this mean? All this time, you had thought that you were skilfully manipulating Nakamoto into developing feelings for you, when it suddenly seemed like all this time, he had been doing this to you. This wasn’t like you. Feelings didn’t sneak up on you like tax payments - you were always the one initiating, and then ending relationships, without a care in the world for consequences. You didn't understand what these new feelings for Nakamoto meant, and you sure as hell didn’t like them.
Dealing with all of your newfound emotions, you barely noticed your stoic bodyguard until the car was parked, and you realised with a start the two of you had been sitting in silence for at least five minutes.
‘Yuta.’ He muttered.
‘What?’ You turned to look at him,
‘It’s my real name. Nakamoto is my surname, but Yuta is my first name.’
You stared into his eyes, his electric gaze crackling the air in the car around you.
‘Yuta,’ you murmured, leaning in slowly.
