Isabella I of Castile had fertility issues as well… Maybe not false pregnancies like her granddaughter Mary, and she conceived quickly the first time, but 5 years passed between her first and second pregnancy, which resulted in stillbirth, and then she couldn’t conceive again for another 2-3 years.

So it's not just the effects of the illness on our bodies that are of concern, but also the effects on the bodies of still-gestating babies – something that scientists have already been urgently looking into.

The team studied 661 human fetal tissue samples collected between July 2020 and April 2022, observing hemorrhages in 26 of them. COVID-19 was present in all of the tissue samples with evidence of hemorrhaging.

All the samples were collected from electively terminated pregnancies.

"While hemorrhages do occasionally occur in developing brains, it is extremely unusual for there to be this many instances within a 21-month period," says neurobiologist Katie Long from King's College London in the UK.

"It is now of the utmost importance that we follow up with children that were prenatally exposed to COVID-19 so that we can establish if there are any long-lasting neurodevelopmental effects."

Well, Luffy (the brat) has insanely easy pregnancies. Even Croc is a little salty about it. And she bounces right back to her pre-pregnancy body! (But more seriously, she's been lucky to avoid any difficulties in her pregnancy.)

Penguin, Dalmatian, Gin, Katakuri, and Lucci all had relatively easy pregnancies.

Drake had terrible "Morning" sickness the entirety of her pregnancy. Morning sickness was more of an all-day, most days situation.

Cavendish had both gestational anemia and high blood pressure. She got to spend about seven months on bed rest.

Usopp, Heat and Buggy all got too big too fast and had to be on bed rest for like thirty-eight out of forty weeks.

Perona almost suffered a late-term miscarriage when her high blood pressure developed very suddenly into preeclampsia.

Smoker had a bad case of the depression blues while she was pregnant and post-partum depression after Frost was born. It didn't help that she had gestation diabetes and was on bed rest for about half of her pregnancy. (Thankfully, Kuzan noticed her change in behaviour early.)

Crocodile's pregnancies were easy-peasy half the time and tough half the time. The boys were so big that she got to spend most of both of those pregnancies on strict bed rest. Plus, she had to be induced into labour with Eddie because he was too big.

Hawkins struggled to gain the necessary weight during her pregnancies. Fast metabolism plus low appetite. Marco (because she was definitely in his care for her pregnancies) had to have her hooked up to an IV to ensure she and the babies were getting enough nutrients.

I know somebody who just had a miscarriage after 20 weeks. To prevent her from going to jail they’re going to try to induce her to give birth to it naturally. I didn’t think that you could do that so soon. I’m not sure how long this will take. I was going to wait until it happened but it’s been a few days now.

Her father-in-law knows this and is still denying that she’ll go to jail if she miscarries and gets rid of it the safer, less painful way.

My beautiful boy ! I am 22 weeks now and he’s just getting bigger by the day! I love these appts and seeing how much he’s growing! His skin is still a bit transparent and he’s still developing his features but he can suck his thumb now (which he did), he can breathe, taste, organs are developing further, and he’s kicking me a lot! He’s so active. In these pictures he is hugging my placenta and had his hand in front of his face. 🥹💙 I am so in love with my son. I can’t wait to meet him in 4 more months!

I love you my sweet Amari 💙 Forever and always. Everything I do now is for you.
