Percy getting picked up from school by his godly family

Good:Poseidon or Triton, typical dad and brother behavior. a bit overdone but ultimately very wholesome

Better: Amphitrite, the drama of getting picked up by your dad’s wife and knowing that your dad cheated on her with your mom. Is she kind? is she mad at Percy or his mom because of Poseidon cheating on her? Did Poseidon make her do this? Does she adore Percy? Does she get along with Sally? Does she defend Percy when a teacher accuses him of being a delinquent?

Mind blowing: Nerites. The absolute chaos of Poseidon’s boy toy and charioteer rocking up to Percy’s school in Poseidon’s chariot (it looks like blue luxury sports car) with his and Poseidon’s sort of kid Anteros in the back seat. A teacher asks how Nerites is related to Percy and he just says that he is dating Percy’s father (the teacher met amphitrite last week). Bonus points if this is the first time Percy meets Nerites and was unaware that Poseidon was bisexual. Bonus bonus points if it’s before Percy and Annabeth get together and Anteros (the god of mutual love and Percy’s sort of half brother) tells Percy to ask Annabeth out already.

Two POVs of Percy & Poseidon in HoO: The Neglectful Parent and the Helping Behind the Scenes Parent

Sometimes I like to think that after Percy returns home from the nightmare that was HoO (and Tartarus) he's big-time angry with Poseidon.

I mean, he was kidnapped, brainwashed and manipulated by Hera (using Annabeth's name no less), and then barely got his memories back before getting thrown into a second war and ended up falling into hell. And when he gets out, he sees Poseidon just casually :) chatting :) with :) Hera :) Like if I was him that would've been my villain origin story. The gods need me to save them? Fuck no. If they're not strong enough (or willing) to protect their own rule and kingdoms, then maybe they shouldn't be ruling at all.

Like I think that pre-hoo Percy and Poseidon were building a good relationship, and Percy would've kept all the gifts that Poseidon gave him (sand dollar aside). Maybe stick some of it up on the wall. Maybe make something, like a family sketch of him, Tyson and Poseidon he commissioned from Rachel. After HoO he's so angry and hurt that he just tears it all down. Rips it to shreds. Sally and Paul hear the racket and come bursting through the door hella worried only to find Percy looking furious with his eyes full of unshed tears with everything that Poseidon gave him (aside from Riptide) in pieces at his feet.

(Meanwhile Poseidon has no idea why his child is so upset. He believed whatever lie or excuse Hera spun to cover her ass and doesn't know how much Percy went through, and he's in for a very rude awakening the next time he tries to talk to Percy).

On the other hand, I like to think that Poseidon was paying attention (as best he could with the Greek-Roman split) and helped Percy out, and its just the fact that Percy had so little POVs that we don't know that Poseidon was in contact and helping out.

Like sure, Poseidon/Neptune wasn't able to help Percy against Polybetes, so he gave Percy power over poison so Percy could protect himself.

Percy fell into Tartarus where Poseidon couldn't reach or help him? He had his power over poison from Poseidon that saved him from Akhlys. Poseidon also went to Hermes and made sure that his temple in Tartarus was constantly stocked with food, and maybe sent a few of his elite Cyclops to find/help Percy since he couldn't go due to the Greek-Roman split + Zeus's rules. The cyclops just weren't able to find Percy because Percy and Annabeth's whole strategy was 'move fast to keep ahead of the hoards of titans/giants/monsters chasing us down,' so while their enemies couldn't catch up with them, neither could their allies.

And then afterward. Its canon that Poseidon appears to Percy in dreams to communicate (SoM), and that he shows up after the big battles to check in with Percy in person to see if he's okay (BoTL) so maybe he did that when Percy was alone in his cabin on the Argo II? Or when he gets back to Sally's apartment after HoO? And Percy just didn't want to tell anyone because 1. all the roman demigods are terrified of Poseidon/Neptune, 2. Annabeth does NOT like Poseidon (or his kids - Percy is the only exception) and they generally don't talk about Poseidon in a family context so why would he tell her, especially after she was scared to tears of his Poseidon given powers and 3. Percy isn't close to any of the other people on the Argo II (Piper - he thinks Percy needs to be controlled - the one thing the sea hates, and Leo - who's terrified of Percy).

i might have accidentally created a semi functional galaxy deeply rooted in religion and magic? i read a post where they urged writers to write sci-fi as if it was fantasy and fantasy as if it were sci-fi and i might have taken this to heart?

the problem comes from the fact that i can’t separate it from the original concept I made it for (i’m so sorry my beautiful creation!)... it was about a chaos!pjo fic that actually works? like without the ooc-ness and the unnecessary ocs? *looks at the army structure and the multiple sheets of alien biology* ops?

I have so many wips and I’m wondering if I even should try and write it! i am not obsessed even if I have too many sketches of my oc species and have made up government relationships between systems and the functions of space travel...

true I do have one or two written scenes in the draft and the outline is looking like the bare bones of a story (missing... a lot of details for the actual plot to work but guess what! the main plot is actually the secondary plotline! and no one is quite as concerned about that!) i don’t know... ughhh

An idea that Will is a really affectionate person that everytime he treat some younger camper's wound he kisses them better.

And Nico, technically, is a younger camper. Except that he's not used to get well soon kisses, he tells Will to stop doing that and Will complies for only two visits untill he picks up his old habit.

The thing is, each kiss leaves a little burn mark on Nico's skin after some hours and he refuses to confront Will about them.

I get the criticism of the Hunters of Artemis from a narrative perspective—it sucks that it essentially boots interesting female characters out of the story—but it always baffles me when people viciously hate Artemis for *checks notes* doing damage control.

Like. Thalia explicitly goes with Artemis to avoid the prophecy, and I definitely think that’s the reason Artemis tried so hard to get her to join—hell, you can view the hunters trying to recruit Annabeth as a way to get Thalia to join. And Bianca? You can’t convince me that Artemis didn’t guess there was something up there and react accordingly.

If Percy or Nico were even a little bit girl-adjacent you bet your ass she would be all over them to join. No one actually wants to risk the Great Prophecy happening, and Artemis is doing a hell of a lot more to stop it than anyone else.

If I ever write a no powers au it is going to be a who dunnit about Zeus’s death because literally everyone has a motive and now since everyone is mortal everyone has the means to murder him.

Murder suspects

Athena- Believes that Zeus is running the company inefficiently and if he just listened to her everything would be fixed. Once tried to take over the Olympian Holdings. Her alibi is completely air tight like she knew this would happen…

Hades- Zeus once tried to harm his lover. Rival business owners.

Posideon- Extreme brotherly rivalry and also rival business owner.

Apollo- Recently disowned son who has taken his disowning suspiciously well… has the medical know how to pull off some interesting stuff. Second most likely to be framed.

Hera- We all know her motive. And you know what she deserves to kill him at this point

Luke- trying to destroy Olympian Holdings for its shady business practices and has his own complicated ties to the Olympian family.

Ares- Recently written out of the will for doing something stupid. Has a gun at all times. Most likely to be framed.

Hermes- Zeus’s aid for a ridiculous amount of time with no career advancement. Has info on the other suspects that he is very willing to share. Has recently been in hot water with Zeus over the actions of his son Luke.

Thalia and Jason Grace- Zeus’s bastard children who are set to inherit a lot of his money.

I have no idea who the detective would be since there isn’t an unbiased demigod with the intelligence to deal with this mess. Tempted to have the detectives be Percy and Annabeth. Will Solace would also make a great medical consultant.

hope we get a heartfelt moment of percy's family saying farewell at an airport. he says goodbye to grover. it's bittersweet, but they promise to meet up as soon as he gets back. he says goodbye to paul and thanks him for being the father he always needed. then he gets to his mom, and he doesn't have enough words to thank her so he just hugs her. he cries and manages to say that he'll miss her. and she'll joke that he'll be back next summer like he always is. then he pulls away and gives the three of them one final look before turning to meet annabeth hand-in-hand. ready to face whatever the worlds throws at him because he has her at his side, and will continue to have her for the rest of his natural life.

I'm such a sucker for fics from the pov of some NormalPerson™ who tries to understand what the actual fuck is going on with your fave. For example;

- Hermione's parents sort of got used to their daughter talking about dragons and curses and she makes it sound like its no big deal so they just go along with their strange kid. Except now there's a man at the door who says he's the minister of magic and he would like to personally invite you and your daughter to the first memorial of the final battle as she is a war hero of the highest order. What do you mean there was a war? Hermione, get down here this instant!

-Or a true crime podcast about the crimes of Sam and Dean Winchester through the eyes of someone who went to college with Sam. He hosts podcast nights and everytime one of Sams alleged kills is described he tells the friends who are listening with them about that time Sam went vegetarian for a month after watching a nature channel docu.

-Or Percy Jackson returns to a mortal high school after one of his adventures and one of his teachers has to try and decipher the transcripts from his old schools. How the fuck did this little skater boy blow up his last school? Why isn't he in prison??? Or dead??? The parent-teacher conference night that follows is one for the ages as Sally Jackson lies her ass off, but with skill.

-Or John Watson decides to go to a class reunion against better knowledge and Sherlock tags along to learn more about John out of boredom. His former classmates don't understand what the hell Sherlock Holmes is doing at their party if there hasn't been a murder and absolutely come to the conclusion that the two are together. They have to be, right?

Don't know how Luke Castellan's heart isn't melting over how cute Percy is in the new "Percy Jackson" show. Percy's here like, "Well, I'm only going on this quest to save my Mom and maybe flip off my godly deadbeat Dad while doing it, and also I picked Annabeth to come with me because she seems willing to shove me off a bridge to get things done." Like, okay, I know that Luke is probably not thrilled that Annabeth is going to be in danger, that's fair. But man, for me, it's like, "I've only had this Percy for 3 episodes and if anything happened to him, I'd go feral."

Also, it's tempting to write an AU in which things are fumbled and otherwise changed juuuuust enough in bad ways that 12yo Percy actually defects with Luke. I mean, I think Percy is angry enough to make a bad choice out of spite and maybe grief, and smart enough to then pretty much immediately be like, "Wait, I fucked up. I want out." And I think that potential plotline is delicious. Also, Percy would be a terrible self-appointed spy / secret agent (if he decided to do that instead of just booking it) - "Sure hope someone from Camp Half-Blood doesn't angrily kill me for being Luke's evil lackey before I can betray Kronos at a crucial moment!" - and that would also be great. Don't worry, he totally has a plan to have a plan! Also, he told Grover about this when they ran into each other during some clash between sides on a quest, and Grover can totally keep a secret!

Jason Todd, Son of Sally Jackson

Jason Todd is Sally Jackson’s Biological Child.

Jason has already become Red Hood but hasn’t revealed his identity to Bruce and the Batfam yet. Sally hasn’t married Gabriel Ugliano yet. Percy is 6 years old.

After reuniting, Sally & Jason bond over their violent sense of justice/self-defense and Sally learns combat from Jason to protect both her sons with deadly force.

After learning Jason’s identity as Red Hood and his reasoning behind becoming a Drug Lord, she becomes Jason’s business partner that co-leads his gang under the codename ‘Queen’.

Queen & Red Hood become extremely well-known protectors of children and abused single parents, opening many parent & children shelters funded by their gang.

Percy is the mob’s baby brother, ‘Guppy,’ because of growing up the son and brother of Gotham’s most successful crime lords. They always made sure he hid his identity with a hoodie and gas mask to disguise his voice with the bonus of protecting him from Joker, Scarecrow, & Poison Ivy’s attacks.

After receiving Medusa’s head from Percy, Sally makes a new “statue” every month or so. She contacts abused single parents, kills their abusers with the abused’s consent, and gives 3/4 of the money she makes to the parent. This “charity sculpting” is allegedly as a favor to her fellow “grieving” single parents. Weirdly enough, she still ends up killing Gabriel Ugliano, despite never marrying him.

“Do you ever dream about me?” Jason pressed the red button on the machine, startled as he watched the claw lower itself into the sea of stuffed animals and plushies. He exhaled softly, turning to face Leo who had been leaning against the machine with his head resting against the glass, arms and ankles crossed, silently observing.

Jason reached into his pocket, digging out another few coins to insert it. His hand wrapped around the joystick, brows furrowed in concentration with squinted eyes carefully calculating the distance of the curved metals to the stitched fabric. “Where’s this coming from?”

Leo shrugged lazily, his eyes roaming Jason’s face. “I’m just curious. I think a lot, you know.”

Jason pressed the button once he was sure, silently praying and hoping for the ridiculous claw to grab the animal he had his eyes on since they stepped into the arcade hours ago. He straightened, the entire body perfectly inside the claw, the arms and legs dangling and just as it brought it to the left to drop it into the basket, it fell.

Leo snickered and pushed himself off the machine to stand beside Jason, taking a few coins he’d been mindlessly fidgeting and inserted it into the slot. Jason’s lips parted in awe as Leo effortlessly managed to grab the dark blue and brown teddy bear, his eyes following the rigged machine as it dropped it into the basket.

Leo bent down to retrieve it and tossed it into the air victoriously. It landed perfectly in the spaces between his thumbs and forefinger, presenting it to Jason with a grin. “Now that you got it, let’s head to the food court. I’m starving.”

I could kiss you right now, Jason thought but he didn’t say so. Only nodding as he swallowed thickly with a dry throat and followed after him.
