Hey guys, I know I don’t post much in this blog anymore and I am not exactly sure who will see this but I’m posting this because today is the Philippine Presidential Elections and, just like what other people here are already saying, we’re fighting for our lives right now.
We are fighting against the return of dictatorship in the country. We are fighting against the continuation of corruption and injustice. We are fighting for a better future. We are fighting, so that we may finally know peace.
Today, multiple issues regarding the elections have come up. Vote-Counting Machines (VCMs) “malfunctioning”, SD cards missing, people getting PAID for voting for the dictator’s son and his party, and more. Even the commission in charge of ENSURING FAIR ELECTIONS is failing to fully understand the grasp said issues, wasting people’s time and votes.
If you do find this post and read it, all I ask is that you share the news about the Philippines. Anything about today (May 9, 2022), about Halalan 2022/PH Elections 2022, about BBM and the Marcos Family, about Leni Robredo, Kiko Pangilinan, Chel Diokno and the rest of Robredo’s senatorial slate (+ Neri Colmenares),
and if this inspires you to learn everything else, then please do.
We are asking for your help, not in votes, but in sharing what is happening here to the rest of the world. Whatever happens, whatever the results are, we want the whole world to see what is going on. (But thank you to the foreign news outlets who have been speaking on this).
All the Filipinos are asking for is a fair government, where lives are recognized and uplifted. We cannot be kept in the dark again, we have had enough.
And if we need to meet in EDSA once again, then so be it.

sending strength to all filipinos reading this. we are in a very dark time and we absolutely do not deserve this trauma we're collectively experiencing because of the current presidential elections.
i was only 16 when president rodrigo duterte was elected. i witnessed news of people being killed by police numbering in the thousands. i was also 17 when i read about kian's death at the hands of policemen who planted a gun on his corpse and claimed he was a drug carrier.
in 2018 i entered university full of excitement and hope and a drive to change the nation for the better. i only experienced 2 and a half years of being on-campus when the covid pandemic struck. now, i'm supposed to be graduating and the government's current pandemic response has not allowed face-to-face classes.
6 years is a terribly, terribly long time.
in these past few months with the Leni-Kiko campaign, i have felt hope for the first time in a long time. i could see that this country was indeed desperate for change and the collective action across different sectors of our society. and then, i felt that hope dashed last night with the announcement of the unofficial vote count.
i won't discourage you from feeling all the grief and anxiety you need to feel. but in these coming days, we have to pick ourselves back up.
the marcos family's return without any sense of apology is not honorable. their manipulation of fake news to clear their name and rewrite history is not honorable. bongbong marcos being permitted to run as a presidential candidate is not honorable. the handling of the voting process yesterday is not honorable.
the way they spit on our democracy is not honorable.
it's time for us to rise up again because the power has always been with the people. we absolutely have to fight for it.
on behalf of the people killed during martial law. on behalf of the people killed under the duterte regime. on behalf of the student-activists, farmers, laborers, fisherfolk, environmentalists, artists, journalists, and urban poor who are the most vulnerable targets if a marcos presidency comes.
we have up-ended a marcos presidency before and we can do it again.
if need be, see you all in EDSA

will maybe add some helpful informative links later

why am i even studying for my degree when the possible new president of the philippines (bbm 🤮) doesn't have one and faked his credentials?
why is an actor (robin padilla), who has zero experience in governance and is actually a sexist leading the senatorial race; when have candidates who are lawyers, human rights defenders, and over all more qualified than him can't seem to make it to the top 12 (e.g. chel diokno).
why are we over-looking people who has credentials and clean track records?? ang taas-taas ng standard natin sa ibang bagay pero sa mga politiko natin, hindi?
why are we ignoring leni robredo's contributions to our country especially during the pandemic? tha fact that she was being belittled by the duterte administration but was still able to achieve things says a lot about her leadership and skills.
why are we ignoring our history?
forgetting about the people who suffered under the marcos' regime, the wealth and resources that was taken from our country. we are still suffering because of what they did and we will suffer more under the hands of another marcos.
to anyone that would say "but they built infrastructures", are you really putting more value on infrastructures than the lives that were lost? the families who still suffer because of them? the victims who were never found? the people who were tortured, raped? do you not value their lives?
also, sa dami-dami nilang utang dapat lang may pinagawa sila but majority of the money they borrowed, they used it only for themselves.
foreign investors in our country are already pulling out. the stock market slowly going down. do you know why? because they don't trust marcos. our economy will suffer.
those you are rich enough will not experience the consequences of this elections. do you know who will? the poor, the marginalized, the people who we should have been thinking about when we voted.
to my fellow filipinos, do not stop protesting this election. this is for our future. we must stand our ground and fight for what is right and what we deserve. the comelec was biased and because of that we lost a bright future.
the entire world is watching as a dictator's son take power.
i am not crying because leni lost and bbm won. i am crying because our country lost and our people will suffer.
think not for one's self but for our nation.

✨sleepy hollow — lot download✨
there’s just something about building smol neighborhoods that give me so much joy ;-; hopefully it’s something y’all can use in-game for your sims
about sleepy hollow —
40 x 30 lot built in brindleton bay
4 small family-sized houses + layouts for each one
download comes with cc + personal conversions (593.45 mb)
before you get the lot...
instead of asking for donations to relief funds to access the lot download, all i ask is that you consider making yourself aware of the political climate back home in the philippines. once again, it is under threat of being under tyrannical leadership during election season through rigged ballots, brutal force, and threats of martial law. to take it a step further, the government has shut down a major local broadcasting network to keep citizens and foreigners alike in the dark so as to continue their reign of abuse.
if you have the time and the willingness, i urge you to read up on the political situation my mother-country is facing and extend a helping hand if it is within your means.
resources —
articles and case studies regarding the tyrannical, martial law reign of the marcoses
local artists losing international clients due to the political climate needing support and patronage
how to acquire the lot (hehe sorry for the whiplash) —
send me an ask off anon, and i’ll send you a link :)
thank you for letting me use my blog as a platform and an amplifier to speak on things that are near and dear to my heart.  ₍՞◌′ᵕ‵ू◌₎♡ — c.

Marcos-Duterte possibly "winning" the elections is so bad that the Philippines' Big 4 Universities (University of the Philippines, University of Sto. Thomas, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University) all declared an academic walk out.
No classes under Marcos presidency.
The youth is mad, the youth is pissed. The Filipinos will not stand for this blatant rigging and cheating of the elections.
Simula pa lang ang laban, sa mga tumindig, maraming salamat, pero sana ituloy natin ang pagtindig hanggang ngayon. Titindig tayo.

The state of the Philippines after the May 9, 2022 National Elections (Part 2)
continuing from here
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"why are there so many tweets?" I NEED YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE GRAVITY OF OUR SITUATION, ESPECIALLY FROM THE FILIPINOS' PERSPECTIVE. this might as well be the only time I get to tell about it too especially given that we have a history of being silenced and shot down by our political abusers. read my messages. then try to understand. then read them all again. I need you to understand and know this well. almost begging, even, because we are in a state of turmoil and we may have to fight for our rights — we might have fight for our lives and if anyone asks what happened, and if anyone so dares to tell you that we were all fools- i hope by then you will have known the deep struggle we had to go through just to fight for ourselves and the very president we wanted to have Filipino resilience should not be celebrated. Accountability must be demanded.
Tumblr media
[referring to the Commission on Elections] You are rich in funds. Even if- all we want is ONE reliable VCM (Vote Counting Machine). That's it. That's all we want. Voting should not last beyond 10 minutes, but how many hours have we been in line here? The resiliency of Filipinos is not an honorary badge. We should not be used to being sweaty, tired, and hungry.
— from ABS-CBN News Official Twitter
With this in mind, there have been some speculation that PayPal might pull out from the Philippines like they pulled out from Ukraine due to the Ukraine/Russia conflicts.
A freelance illustrator had to personally reach out to PayPal to clarify this.
Tumblr media
I would like to end this with an archive of documents, news articles, and resources comprehensively detailing the Marcos era, especially during the Martial Law. He has committed heinous crimes against the Filipino people as well as robbed us of ₱203B which should have long been paid in their estate taxes.
Please help me spread awareness. I cannot trust the international media and news outlets to properly tell our experiences without dubbing us collectively as fools or idiots who let a dictator's son have power. I cannot trust them to tell how we fought so hard and accumulated too many supporters only to be let down by manipulation and exploitation.
That will be all, and thank you for reading.

Ignoring for a moment the alarm bells sounding off with inconsistencies in the vote count, voter disenfranchisement, and countless accounts of vote buying.
The absolute fuckery that is the Philippines national elections should serve as a huge fucking warning sign to the rest of the world at what a campaign of disinformation, historical revisionism, and an army of paid trolls can accomplish in the time of social media.
That the son of an ousted dictator—who was exiled, has a warrant out for his arrest in the US, and with zero remorse still lives a life of obscene wealth from the billions of dollars stolen from the nation—is able to run for president at all, already makes absolutely no fucking sense.
That he might also win—despite running against the best public servant this country has seen in aaaages—is ludicrous on a mind-melting level.
This guy—with no significant accomplishments of his own, a proven liar, too chicken shit to face other candidates in debates, lacks the grit and intelligence to answer questions from the press, and can’t string together any words of substance that would explain his platform? This guy? Just because he has a strong presence on TikTok? This guy??
Overseas relatives and foreign friends asking how this could have happened—Dude, we’re just as confused as you.

PLEASE SUPPORT FILIPINO ARTISTS!
This is going to be a bit of a read but I’m going to try to keep it as concise as possible.
The Philippines just held elections yesterday, and it’s getting really messy over here because of the current unofficial count showing Bongbong Marcos, the son of a previous dictator, in the lead for presidency. I’m not going to get into the details of the politics, and I don’t want to make this about the candidates, but essentially a lot of investors are pulling out of the country and PH stocks are falling. This has led to a rumor that PayPal will be shutting down in the Philippines (likely because of what happened in Russia), but there is little to no real basis for the claim, especially since the situation is quite different from Ukraine.
However, news, no matter how credible, spreads fast on social media. A lot of PH artists are the sole source of income for their families and rely a lot on commissions from international clients via PayPal, and while it is highly unlikely that the service will become unavailable here, they have every right to be worried.
Another issue is that because of the news surrounding the election, a lot of clients from overseas are backing out of commissions simply because the artist they were working with is Filipino. I’ve seen posts where clients say that it’s “too risky” to commission someone from the PH, even though they have no ties to politics or for some, aren’t even of voting age. It’s likely that the whole PayPal situation is a reason as well.
All of the things happening in the Philippines is NOT the fault of anyone but the corrupt government officials. So if you’ve been looking for someone to commission, please look into filipino artists!
A lot of them are on Twitter and Instagram as far as I know, and you can probably find a few easily by just searching! I’ve also linked support threads here and here that have a lot of people in the replies.
PH artists on tumblr feel free to promo yourself however you like under this post too!
I have all of like 350 followers on here, so I don’t know how many people I can reach with this, but hopefully this can help out a bit…

PLEASE REBLOG!!!
Marcos and Duterte hasn't even won yet and THIS is already happening
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The votes are still being counted. There are protests happening because PPCRV (Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting) volunteers in Intramuros are BEING HARRASED BY THE MILITARY AND POLICE. UP STUDENT ATHLETES ARE BEING THREATENED AND TRAUMA BY THE POLICE. They are sabotaging the lights and surrounding the innocents.
COMELEC wants to stop the PPCRV Manual Counting because it's obvious Leni and Kiko are leading. Some are even destroying ballots that voted for Leni and Kiko, and some are shading Marcos. Please help us spread awareness of what's happening.

To any and every non-filo here on Tumblr, whether you are my mutual or just someone who happens to see this post,
I hope this encourages you to not only look into what is happening here in the Philippines, but also into what is happening in your own country. In your own home.

If you don't know what's going on the in the Philippines, the short answer is that our elections happened on May 9, 2022 and the results are an embarrassment to our history and we, as a country, are fucked. Currently in the lead, based on the unofficial and partial results of our commission on elections (COMELEC), is the son of a dictator we ousted in 1986, whose family has yet to payback the BILLIONS they owe the people and apologies for literal YEARS WORTH of crimes against humanity. Instead, they gave history revisionism through TikTok and fake news to the masses, manipulating voters to think the years of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. were the best in the Philippines, when it was anything but. Now, his son Ferdinand "Bong Bong" Marcos Jr. (BBM) is being pushed into power when he has NO DEGREE, NO CREDENTIALS, AND HAS MULTIPLE CASES OF TAX EVASION, and that is just the tip of the iceberg for this family of thieves and plunderers. According to COMELEC's partial and unofficial results, BBM's winning over Leni Robredo, the current Vice President of the country, who has an amazing track record as VP for 6 years, an ACTUAL POST-GRAD DEGREE, and is an attorney.
I refuse to accept this result, not because Leni is my candidate, but because there have been multiple reports and evidence of around 1,800+ Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) "malfunctioning", missing or corrupted SD cards, vote-buying for Marcos and his party, some reported attacks at voting precincts, and just mass electoral fraud. COMELEC has done jack shit about all these accusations, even claiming they've received no complaints about the election when we know that's a lie. COMELEC also dismissed several disqualification cases against BBM just today, May 10, 2022. They even transmitted the unofficial results at lightning speed last night when this has not happened before and we know for a fact people were still lined up at precincts waiting to vote, some even until 3 AM, because of the aforementioned broken machines and SD cards and they refused to leave their ballots in the care of staff at the precinct for fear of tampering with their ballots. They claim it's because they were "prepared", but it's clear to us that this election has been bought and rigged in their favor.
We have hundreds of youth protesting these unofficial results and they are already being labeled "militants", when all they carry are cardboard signs and their passion to give the country a leader it deserves, while the opposition is preemptively celebrating and trying to declare themselves the winner when the fight is far from over. We are still waiting for official results, but we are not satisfied with this election. They have failed to ensure it is fair. We will not acknowledge a presidency built upon lies, deceit, and oppression.
Fuck Marcos and, if need be, kitakits sa EDSA🌸

THE MARCOS FAMILY SHOULD NOT RETURN TO POWER.
THIS IS AN INSULT TO THE VICTIMS OF MARTIAL LAW. THEY BLATANTLY SPREAD FAKES NEWS TO REVISE OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY. THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED OR FACED THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE CRIMES COMMITTED DURING THEIR REGIME.
THIS IS ALSO AN INSULT TO OUR COUNTRY AND OUR COUNTRY'S FUTURE. HE HAS NO PLANS FOR THE COUNTRY ASIDE FROM "UNITY". THE MARCOS FAMILY ARE ONLY DOING THIS FOR POWER AND SELFISH REASONS.
NEVER AGAIN. NEVER FORGET.

martial law files (IMPORTANT)
i'm sorry if you found this on tags that you expect for content to show up, but i'm dropping here an important part of history in the Philippines that people from other countries need to know.
the Marcos family want to get rid of this information, TO ERASE THIS PART OF HISTORY. they're planning (maybe even starting already) to revise history books to get rid of the cruel past that their family caused to the people of their own country.
as a Filipino especially from Negros Occidental where they purged the sugarcane industry, leaving everyone in the province starving to death, I WILL NOT LET THE PAIN OF MY ANCESTORS BE FORGOTTEN.
MARTIAL LAW FILES
a lot of files are already missing from when i first checked. but i'm trying to spread what is left of it more on social media platforms that are more for western consumption.
i will not let this part of history be forgotten.
feel free to ask for translations of some parts, because some of the files are in Tagalog.

This will be a non-Downton related post, but I'd just like want my mutuals to know that I'm from the Philippines and we just had our national elections and it's absolutely terrifying as the son of a late dictator is on the lead for president. And the daughter of our current president, Rodrigo Duterte, is in the lead for vice president. In addition to that, senators leads are filled with people who have crimes of corruption, is a celebrity, is a radio host and everything in between.
Incompetency at its finest. Lies and deceit on a pedestal.
I am a first-time voter and this just breaks my heart. Elections just happens only ONE DAY in the Philippines and earlier there were violence from other provinces and broken ballot machines. Ridiculous how we had 6 years to prepare for this one day and it's all in shambles.
Hoping for good to prevail in this difficult times.
