Heathcliff for the 7-questions-ask?

Three facts about them from my personal headcanons.

He's ethnically Romani, and he secretly still remembers the language and culture of his early childhood.

He's not a supernatural creature – headcanons claiming that he is one are valid, but they can also have unfortunate racist implications, and a headcanon like that shouldn't be taken as the one true way to read the novel.

He never had sex with Catherine Earnshaw (just because they spend time together off-page at certain points doesn't mean they ever did it), or with any woman except Isabella. Not that I think he should be viewed as asexual, per se – I just think it's interesting that one of the most passionate loves in literature goes unconsummated, and that one of the famous of all "Byronic heroes" never has sex out of passion or lust at all, but only uses it as a tool to achieve a goal.

A reason they suck:

The short list or the long list? Just to keep things simple, I"ll name the fact that he despises and abuses his son, and then coldly neglects him on his deathbed. Yes, Linton is whiny, manipulative, and obnoxious, but he's still a dying teenager, he's still Heathcliff's own child, and I can't agree with people who argue that his flaws make Heathcliff's treatment of him forgivable.

A reason they are great:

The cliché answer would be his passion for Catherine Earnshaw. But while of course it's compelling, to say that his love for her is his only redeeming quality is all too reductive. So instead, I'll cite the fact that throughout his rise to power, no matter how villainous he becomes, he never loses his empathy for the underdog and the servant class. He never stops confiding in Nelly Dean (even though they're far from allies in the second half of the book), he never fires Joseph even though they loathe each other, and of course there's his reluctant sympathy and empathy for Hareton, in part because he looks like his aunt Catherine, but more because Heathcliff sees his own younger self in him.

A reason I relate to them:

I'm usually quiet in front of other people, but I'm full of intense inner passion.

(what I consider to be) the top tier otp/ot3 for that character:

Catherine Earnshaw is his one and only. Neither of them belongs with any other partner.

Five things that never happened to the character that I believe should have happened:

He isn't a character I tend to wish things had happened differently for, because the bad things both that happen to him and that he does to others are more or less the backbone of the story. But I'll imagine some things that just might have made his life better and protected his victims too.

That Mr. Earnshaw had formally adopted him and set aside at least a small inheritance for him. (Of course that would have prevented him from marrying Cathy, even if there were no Edgar, but at least it might have offered him some protection from Hindley.)

That Hindley had died in an accident while Mr. Earnshaw was still alive, leaving Cathy as the heir to Wuthering Heights – since, unlike Thrushcross Grange, there's no evidence that the Heights is entailed – with Heathcliff by her side.

That the other people around him had treated him with the basic respect a human being deserves, instead of being racist and classist and already treating him like a bandit before he does anything wrong.

That instead of running away as soon as he heard Cathy say it would degrade her to marry him, he had stayed and heard her entire "whatever our souls are made of..." speech. I'm not sure how much difference it would have made, since learning the true depth of her love for him later doesn't stop him from becoming even darker and more vengeful after her death. But at least it might have made some type of difference.

That he had never married Isabella and never fathered a son.

Five people that character never fell in love with and why.

Isabella Linton. He despises her and only uses her as a tool.

The younger Catherine Linton. Even if he were inclined to pursue such a young girl whose mother was the love of his life, she resembles her father Edgar too much, and besides, Heathcliff blames her for her mother's death.

Frances Earnshaw. She's one of the people who mistreats him, and she's almost as much to blame as the Lintons for Cathy's transformation into a "lady."

Nelly Dean. At best, she's more of a sister figure to him.

Mrs. Earnshaw. He only knew her for two years, she died when he was nine years old, and she presumably despised him throughout that brief time.

Transformers Pairs I think shouldn't live only in my head:

Because I think I am onto something and Y'all should hop along.

Disclaimer: Not all of them are romantic/ Some are platonic, and/or I think we should consider making these character family.

ALSO, There are some I think we as a fandom should ship in the "I think they hunt the other for sport" type of way, no romantic feelings.

1- Blaster/ Nauttica/ Road Rage.

I know a good deal of you already ship Nautica/Road Rage, and that's great... Now, consider giving the lesbians a hype man. I personally ship them in a ot3 way, in a "Let's go Bisexuals" type of way if you will, but Blaster being just their platonic bestie is also fine. I just think the 3 of them should live together. Picture this: Science girlfriend, Party Boyfriend, Bodyguard girlfriend. Is a the 3 of them are super smart and competent but in different fields and can help each other... also the nerding-out and Road Rage being absolutely in love with music provided by the resident radio.

2- Blurr & Cheetor.

This one upsets me, because why cant we pull a "Jack frost and Elsa are dating" on them, why is this QPR living only in my brain. WHAT IF, hear me out, they meet while racing and become best friends, they are RIDE or DIE. They see each other as their sun, they push each other to better themselves. I could see them as romantic, but the QPR aspect of it is too soft for me to pass.

3- Jazz ][ Getaway.

Okey, hear me out, your see the racquets "][" ? That is to keep them real separated, This is a "Coworkers to enemies" ship, an "Enemies to I will be responsible for your demise" if you will. I haven't finished MTMTE and I won't be able to in the near future BUT, if this fandom has feed me a common sentiment is that we hate Getaway for good reason. Now, Picture this:

Jazz, head of SpecOps, having to work with the guy that thinks he is worthy of carrying the matrix. Is Diplomatic Corps and SpecOpcs rivalry is.... you know what I just want them having a bloody fight. Get the romance BULLSHIT OUT, let them haunt the other for sport.

4- Perceptor/ Warpath/ Bliztwing.

Okey, you have to trust me on this one, because I accidentally started shipping them while working on my continuity and... tHEM...But what if Perceptor was allowed to go a little bit Apeshit and had boyfriends who supported him? What if Bliztwing was more like his G1 self? what if Bliztwing and Warpath were pre-war buddies? just thoughs man...

5- Eject & Rossana.

First, I think they would get along. Second, is that Rosanna looks like she likes football... so... Let them play together man. We either make Rewind, Eject and Rosanna triplets or Rosanna&Eject the twins, with Rewind being the older brother. I just think we don't make use of the cassettes sibling-like relationships enough and I just would like to see these two more often.

6- Prowl ][ Starscream.

Look, if you don't think Prowl and Starscream should have an "I want to personally murder you" type of relationship, you are lying to yourself because that shit is just too funny. Throw Chromedome in the mix for extra spice. Just picture those two having to work together OR THEY DIE, and doing everything in their power to be the only one that comes out of the situation alive. You know what? "Enemies to reluctant allies" is also okey but only because that would crack me up.

7- Jazz/ Ironhide/ Chromia.

This came to me in a vision... The vision was Ironhide leading an attack while Chromia took out enemies from afar with her sharpshooter skills, and this is all a diversion so that Jazz can steal information. They go for drinks after that. I also think that Jazz being the shortest yet the one people are terrified of would do wonders for the comedy possibilities of this ship. This can be 3 best friends, a QPR, or a ot3, just... you know what they say "Something something they go to missions together they get married" <-Someone has to have said that before.

8- Roulette & Jazz.

This goes to the "Ex-decepticon Jazz" lovers out there... Give him a friend that gets it, someone who wouldn't judge freshly "Fence Hopper" Jazz because she has a sister with the decepticons, and she wishes this whole war was just over with. Bonding over the differences between the Autobots and Decepticons. Is Jazz helping Roulette check on Shadowstiker and covering for her because they know the decepticons are just mechs like them.

I have more but idk how to explain it without also having to explain a shit ton of nonsense because, Overlord and Toaster are married but y'all are not ready for that conversation.

It was last night but feel free to deep read mg blog anytime idek what's in here so it's great when people randomly bring posts back up for me to discover xD

1. In Theo's defence! The original Enchanté book doesn't have anything marking it as library property either. I was confused about that part as a fellow lit major and book enthusiast so I checked the scene and caught no tags. If it's a plot point or just an error in the props department is yet to be seen.

2. Oooh so far I see Jay as the chaotic, wholesome support character who doesn't really help anyone but makes things interesting. I don't personally see him having a romance in canon but hey if you like it, make it happen right. I am curious about his connection to Lian. They clearly know each other and have been colluding for some time now but are pretending to know nothing about each other for some reason and it's driving me crazy wondering what their deal is. Are they friends!?!? Reluctant allies!??!?! What goes on!?!?!?!?

3. Hmm persian cats come to mind for some reason?? He definitely has cat energy yes xD

Teen Wolf triads are something that can be so personal, so here’s a list of my faves

Scott/Stiles/Allison

The OG trio. The gang that dies together might not stay together, but they’re still iconic.

Scott/Stiles/Lydia

Any Scott/Stiles/X dynamic is brilliant, but few more than this one. These three have been there since the beginning and they’ve gone through so much together. There’s no Teen Wolf without them.

Scott/Stiles/Derek

They were the driving force in S1&2 and had some absolutely iconic moments together. Hate that there wasn’t more of them after that.

Scott/Derek/Isaac

Mostly based on S2/3. I was very invested in Isaac’s struggle to pick between these two.

Scott/Stiles/Isaac

This triad’s dynamic completely changes between S2 and 3. In Season 2, Isaac, as part of Derek’s pack is a slightly antagonistic figure and it’s very much Scott&Stiles vs Isaac but in S3, Scott and Isaac grow closer while Isaac and Stiles erm, don’t. It’s very fun to watch.

Scott/Isaac/Allison

My ot3 and the only trio on this list that I 100% ship.

Isaac/Erica/Boyd

Ayy, it’s the OG Hale Pack aka 3 teens bonding over being thrown headfirst into something they weren’t prepared for and Derek’s horrible leadership. Isaac should’ve ran away with Erica and Boyd for solidarity’s sake.

Chris/Allison/Isaac

Chris’s struggle between hating Isaac for dating his daughter and wanting to adopt him is hilarious. One of my favourites.

Scott/Melissa/Isaac

Who didn’t completely melt at Isaac joining the McCall fam? The scene where they’re ‘guarding’ Melissa was so cute. As a bonus, it made Stiles’s animosity towards Isaac that much stronger. Will forever hate that this trio was more or less non-existent in 3b even though I love Chris/Allison/Isaac.

Derek/Cora/Peter

The non-dead Hales. Why oh why did Cora have to leave? Their family dynamic was great.

Allison/Lydia/Cora

I know they only had a couple scenes as a triad, but there was so potential. We love antagonism with underlying sexual tension. And ofc, the only thing better than 1 terrifying badass that can secretly be super sweet is 3 terrifying badasses.

Derek/Isaac/Boyd

At one point, the only non-dead members of the Hale Pack (TW quickly amended that). I always think of the S3a Loft scene where Boyd and Isaac skip school to protect Derek. Despite how awful of an alpha Derek’s been, they still care about him and he cares about them (as actual people and not just betas that he needs for power like he did originally)

Derek/Allison/Lydia.

Yes it’s my 5th s3 based trio in a row, but can you blame me? This is 100% based off the classroom scene in 3x02.

Allison/Lydia/Jackson

Although Lydia and Jackson were both awful in S1, their friendship with Allison and their immediately taking her under their wing was beyond precious. Additionally, it combines both the asshole-who’s-soft-towards-1-person- dynamic (jydia w/ allison) and assholes-who-secretly-care-about-each-other (jydia) And ofc, the underlying tension due to Jydia’s disdain towards Scott and later, Jackson and Allison’s experiences/knowledge of the supernatural.

Malia/Kira/Lydia

Comedy gold. Their scenes speak for themselves and we needed more.

Liam/Mason/Corey

Their S6a dynamic is sooo underrated and should’ve been given more screen time. I loved watching Liam and Corey struggle to get along for Mason’s sake because they want him to be happy. It was all very wholesome and one of the few things that made 6a worth watching.

Stiles/Scott/Liam

Aka the best part of S4.Their dynamic is so fun and well-balanced and infinitely better because they’re a triad. You’ve got Scott and Liam figuring out their mentor/mentee relationship with Stiles co-parenting and preventing the Scott/Liam dynamic from turning unhealthy. (Liam and Scott’s S6 dynamic veered way too close to parent/child for my taste. They need Stiles to balance it out) It’s also hilarious how quickly Liam accepts being aggressively adopted by two idiots who are barely older than him. And Stiles takes so easily to playing older brother/co-parent. It’s adorable. They’re adorable.

Erica/Allison/Lydia

Very similar dynamic to Allison/Lydia/Cora due to Cora and Erica’s similar personalities but also not, which has a lot to do with Allison and Lydia’s reactions to Erica’s weaponized feminity. Also, there’s a lot more history between these girls and I want to know everything about what Erica thinks of Lydia after going to school with her for years.

Sherriff/Melissa/Chris

Of the top of my head, I can only remember that time where they were trapped under the Nemeton and that’s simply unacceptable.

Sheriff/Noshiko/Melissa.

It’s a crime that this triad never got scenes. Especially after the Sheriff tried to arrest Kira. I know Melissa bitch slapped him but I wanted to watch these two badasses gang up on the Sheriff together. ( the Noshiko/Melissa dynamic would be so iconic.)

Victoria/Noshiko/Melissa

Another triad that never shared scenes (obviously because Vic is dead) but their power would’ve been off the charts. I want to make a joke about milfs, but I’ll refrain.

The Yukimura fam

Seemed appropriate since my last two also included. Noshiko.I love family dynamics and the Yukimuras are no exception. The attraction of this triad, for me, is mostly the dynamic between Kira and Noshiko and how Ken navigates between them. They’re also a trio that we didn’t see nearly enough of in S4 and 5. Like seriously, where were they? Noshiko’s on the dead pool, but she’s barely mentioned. (on a mostly unrelated note, how is the 900 yr old Kitsune worth less than a girl that just found about her kitsune powers?)

Derek/Allison/Scott

I don’t need to explain this one. The angst, the drama, Derek projecting Kate onto Allison and Allison trying to murder Derek and their evolution to reluctant allies with a good dash of Scallison and Scott navigating his own difficult relationship with Derek. Aka the complicated, tension fraught trio we all loved/should love. ( ok, I kind of explained it)

Derek/Scott/Liam

And here we have a two for one deal; two mentor/mentee dynamics in 1 triad. People much smarter than me have written about this trio in extensive detail, so all I’m saying is that Derek’s that one uncle who occasionally comes around and gives somewhat helpful advice.

Braeden/Malia/Scott

Braeden and Scott were great in S4. Braeden and Malia were great in S5. Scott and Malia are pretty great when they’re not in a relationship. Combine, and you get what had to be a kick-ass triad that’s sadly never canonly shown together (I think)

Melissa/Chris/Isaac

Not actually featured in the show, but Isaac deserves all the parental figures and I want to witness the surely epic custody battle between Chris and Melissa.

Malia/Scott/Peter

That this trio is on here is actually pretty funny because I hate both Scalia and the forced Peter/Malia bonding in S6. But I loved the scene where Peter warned Malia not to fall in love with Scott because a) he has absolutely 0 right to advise her on anything and b) because of the history between Scott and Peter. In a way, a relationship with Malia is just another thing tying Scott to someone that’s repeatedly caused harm to him and his friends and was the initial cause for all the pain he’s suffered in the last couple years. I just find this dynamic worth exploring.

Malia/Derek/Peter

The Hales 2.0. Derek and Malia deserve to bond over unwillingly being related to Peter, that scumbag.

Malia/Stiles/Peter

Stiles and Peter are so fun together and Stalia is my jam. Throw in an antagonistic Malia and Peter relationship and they’re entertaining as hell. Much more lighthearted than Malia/Scott/Peter.

Stiles/Malia/Lydia

To clarify, this has nothing to do with a love triangle and everything to do with how their personalities play off each other. It’s one of those trios where together, they’re either terrifying or absolute morons.

Stiles/Cora/Derek

Admittedly, my version of this is very Sterek+Cora and the hilarity of Stiles and his attraction to Hales but it’s also 3x snark and you really can’t go wrong.

Scott/Stiles/Melissa

It’s Melissa and her boys 1.0. This woman is by far the best parent on this show, and I love the specific dynamic among these three. Melissa might not always like Stiles, but she cares about him and there’s the mutual understanding that they both adore Scott and would do anything for him. Also, Mel being exasperated by the dumbass duo is always funny.

Kate/Allison/Chris

Lowkey another custody battle because Kate and Chris do fight to be the bigger influence on Allison This is such a tragic trio to me, and the lesson here is basically that sometimes love isn’t enough. Chris and Kate both genuinely love Allison and she loves them too but can’t have both and at some point, she has neither. Kate and Chris care about each other, but that’s not enough either. In the end, they all lose each other. There’s no happy ending for them, at least not with each other.

Derek/Stiles/Peter

Stiles just has chemistry (not necessarily romantic) with all Hales and this trio really shines through in 3x01 and in S3 in general. “Chess is Stiles’s game” asgdhfjgh. I wanted more of that very specific dynamic.

9. Favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics?

Oof, there are so many. I think tops has to be that the action of the film literally takes place over like 3 days and they go from adversaries who try to kill each other, then reluctant allies who can barely tolerate one another, to intense and immediate self-sacrificing camaraderie for one another because they're idiots who live in absolute terror of having an Authentic Emotional Connection ™️ and they're totally in denial about how they've fallen hard.

"He repeatedly tried to shoot me in the head like 48 hours ago but he's drowning, better save him."

"We've been made by the fascists, I should probably check in with my handler...nah I'm gonna go bust into the Nazi torture basement to save him first."

"She double-crossed me on her handler's orders and got me tortured a few hours ago, better save her."

Like. "For the mission" my ass, y'all are supposed to be professional spies, you're ridiculous. And they are all so clearly *sad* at the end of the movie when they think they're going to go back to being at odds! (Even with the very "oh no" reaction they have to realizing they're working together again...)

That's just my jam.

12. If you had to take them and plunk them into another fandom, what fandom would that be? Why?

Ugh, this is hard because I would really want them in their own canon era and roles. Marvel, maybe? I'm not a huge MCU fan but in terms of crossover potential UNCLE and SHIELD working together or the three of them directly working for Peggy Carter is kind of appealing, ngl.

I just found this in my drafts. IDK who asked me these, or what it was from, but oh well. I’m gonna post it anyway because it’s that sort of night.

1. What was your first OTP? The first one I actively shipped was 1x2 (Heero Yuy x Duo Maxwell) from Gundam Wing. I may have liked to characters together in things before that, but that was the first one I read fic for, so I’m going with that. (Also, can we bring back x ?)

2. What is your current OTP?

Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Teen Wolf

Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, MCU, 616, AA, Ults

3. Do you have any OT3/OT+ ships? What are your favorites?

Parker/Hardison/Eliot from Leverage is the most perfect OT3 in the world, and it’s canon so A+ there.

I also thought season 2 of Stranger Things was heading towards a Steve/Nancy/Jonathan OT3, which I would have been into, but nope...

Other than that, I can be persuaded to read fic that is a mainship + others, so the occasional Peter/Stiles/pretty much anyone tbh, and the occasional Steve/Tony/Bucky

4. What is/are your favorite trope(s)?

So more general tropes that I enjoy are things like bed sharing/safe houses, soulmates, fake dating, enemies to friends to lovers...

But there are some fandom specific tropes I enjoy, too. So, in Teen Wolf, I really like No Hale Fire, the bite was a proposal, neckz’n’throats

And in MCU, etc I love Identity Porn, Steve is not a virgin, and Undercover mission fics

5. What is/are your least favorite trope(s)? Super not into MPREG or Kidfic (like I don’t mind if there are kids, or the characters have them, but I don’t want it to be the focus; I’m trying to escape from my own!)

6. Do you have a certain kind of ship you’re more attracted to? I tend to like opposite characters who have a lot of chemistry but they don’t exactly see eye to eye or get along 100% of the time, even if some of them are friends/reluctant allies. I just always like a bit of rivalry, I think. If you look at all of the ships I’ve had, most of them fit this description: Heero/Duo (reluctant allies at first), Harry/Draco (rivals), Jack/Spot (friendly rivals), Jason/Percy (friendly rivals), Arthur/Eames (reluctant allies with some past??), Arthur/Merlin (master/servant, but with some friendly rivalry thrown in for good measure), Peter/Stiles (enemies to reluctant allies), Steve/Tony (reluctant allies, to friends, to enemies, back to reluctant allies)... and so on.

8. Who is the most shippable person you can think of? I can pretty much ship Stiles with anyone. He’s a good fandom bicycle.

9. Are there any fandoms you don’t have any ships for? That I’m invested in to some degree? I’m not really interested in any Doctor Who ships outside of what’s canon. Idk why...

10. Do characters have to have canon interactions for you to ship them? At least some. There has to be some basis for what their interactions would be like. But honestly, it doesn’t have to be a lot for me. I can make a mountain out of that small molehill if I need to.

12. What drives you away from a ship? The fans of that ship being shitty. I might still like it, but I won’t engage with that part of the fandom, so the interest will fade much faster.

18. What is your favorite unpopular ship? Stiles Stilinski/Isaac Lahey

20. Do you prefer bigger fanbases or smaller ones? OOh tough. Bigger ones produce more content. Getting back into Stony is a gift with the amount of fic and amazing artists out there. BUT small ones are nice to finding a community and people to interact with.

24. What is your favorite canon ship? I’m gonna go with my OT3 of Parker/Hardison/Eliot. Second place would be a tie between Haruka Teou (Sailor Uranus)/Michiru Kaioh (Sailor Neptune) and Eric Bittle/Jack Zimmerman from Check, Please!

25. What are your favorite ships from a dead fandom? Do fandoms really ever die? Jack/Spot from Newsies. Heero/Duo from GW, Casey/Zeek from The Faculty

26. What are your favorite shipping scenes? “Don’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.”

28. What is your best shipping advice? Just have fun. This is supposed to be fun. If it stops being fun, back away.

29. Do you like OCs (Original Characters)? Sometimes? There is an amazing Check, Please! fic (Something Like This, by emmagrant01) that has some amazing OCs, and they round out the story without overshadowing the canon characters. But I think this sort of thing is few and far between.

Bakudeku FFT AU, Version One

Because I think this is a more complete version than the other one. This also is wildly different from version two, especially as far as timelines go, so just bear with me.

To whet your appetite, things that are included in this version: -Bakudeku (OBVIOUSLY) -Unconventional class dynamics -Dealing with PTSD and war and re-acclimating to normal society -Bakugou eating the humble pie. He eats a lot of it. -Deku does not go to Ivalice. He sees the aftermath of Baku’s adventures. And he’s. Confused. To say the least. -Physical age gap romance and crossover ships -Deku getting smacked with a healing staff when he gets hurt.

This will be in a note format, taken directly from my notebooks (with some edits), so forgive the haphazard mess. First, though, I’ll give a short description of Bakugou’s Skillset, because YES I ACTUALLY DID GIVE HIM A FFT-STYLE SKILL LOADOUT DO NOT JUDGE ME.

He has multiple loadouts in this AU, but let’s first go over the classes he’s mastered: Calculator / Arithmetician - The user uses math to cast learned spells in specific areas against particular enemies at no MP cost. This is a great way to combine magic with a melee class.

Black Mage - What it says on the tin.

Chemist - Brews potions in order to cure ailments. Throws potions at allies on the battlefield.

White Mage - Again, what it says on the tin.

Dragoon / Lancer - Uses “Jump” skills and fights with a spear.

Summoner - Summons creatures to assist in battle.

Bard - sings songs to help allies. In the AU, this was mastered entirely in a bout of pettiness, due to one of his allies being an absolute shit. Skill Loadouts: Melee: Class: Lancer / Calculator Main Skill: Jump Subskill: Math Skill Reactive Skill: Counter Magic (when hit with magic, counter with the same.) Supplemental skill: Magic Attack UP Movement Skill: Ignore Height (can jump to any height) Attack Magic Class: Summoner/Black Mage Main Skill: Summon Subskill: Black Magic Reactive Skill: Counter Magic Supplemental Skill: Half of MP (uses magic at half the MP Cost) Movement Skill: Ignore Height Healing (Pure) Class: White Mage / Chemist Main Skill: White Magic Subskill: Item Reactive Skill: Regenerator (when hit, cast a spell that slowly recovers HP over time) Supplemental Skill: Half of MP Movement Skill: Ignore Height Healing and Damage This setup is the same as the attack magic setup, except the main class is White mage and the sub-class is Summoner. Ignore Height is a direct reference to his quirk, since he can use explosions to reach great heights in a way that most normal people can’t. He uses this to supplement his magic and physical attacks in a full-on fight. Now let’s go into the notes:

-If this turns into a fic, the main action will take place after the main plot of FFT, so Baku has already gone through the main plot and is sent back home disoriented and a shadow of the little shit that he used to be. -Katsuki shows up in Ivalice when he was 14. He stayed there, unaging, for several years. While he participated in the main plot of FFT (specifically a multilayered war that was both a war of succession and a fight against literal Gods trying to overthrow the world), time stood still in his world. Nobody even knew that he was gone. -Deku was the only one who noticed the change. It was simultaneously subtle and blatant; especially to someone who grew up with Kacchan and followed him so closely. Katsuki seems calmer, more mature, and far more commanding when he gets back. -His Japanese also has an accent when he gets back. Ramza and his sister, Alma, end up going back with him. -Katsuki arrived in Ivalice post-sludge villain, so Deku does, in fact, get OFA. In the FFT timeline, he shows up during Chapter 2, and is accidentally summoned by Princess Ovelia (the damsel du jour) when she messes with the Dimensional Summoning device that I can’t believe actually exists in canon. Normally, this device is used by Ramza in Chapter 3 by sticking a Zodiac Stone in it, so yeah, I’m messing with the timeline. -Ramza and Baku have a mutual attraction to each other, though there’s a huge age gap, at least physically. When Ramza’s physically 20 when they end up in Japan, Baku is physically 14 (mentally 18). Not a huge deal to someone in Ivalice, but it’s not exactly normal and kosher to someone from Baku’s world. -They still kiss in Ivalice, though, and end up having sex before the final battle. They both think they’re going to die, since they’re literally going to be fighting a deranged God in a pocket dimension, so they figure they have nothing to lose. Even if I write this in a fic, it will never be explicit, only implied. -The original notes imply that this will end in OT3. If I wrote this as a fic I’m STILL not sure if I’d have it end up like that. -Even while in Ivalice, living out a nerdlord’s fantasy, the Nerd keeps coming to mind. He doesn’t mean to, but he’ll pop in Bakugou’s head every now and then, with his thoughts sometimes moving to, without realizing it: “I wish the Nerd could see this.” He berates himself for it. -Bakugou’s chocobo -- a rare green breed, and a hardy bird skilled in mountain traversal -- is nervous but adoring, following him everywhere he goes. He, without hesitation, names him Izuku. -He misses his home. Badly. Even when he realizes the low likelihood of ever going back, and notes how he considers Ivalice home, he still wants, and tries, to find a way home (to his family and Izuku, but he never admits that out loud). -When he sees Deku again, he hugs him. Hard. He’s gone through literal hell and seen friends come and go, people die, and has nearly died himself multiple times -- he doesn’t give a fuck if he looks like a pussy holding him like this. He’s long realized he did him dirty, and through learning what friendship and companionship is in Ivalice, he doesn’t want to waste the time that he has. He also apologizes. Because he’s realized that Deku probably hadn’t been looking down on him at all back then (though there’s that doubt that’s still there), but he’s the closest thing to a friend he had in this shitty small town. -This freaks Izuku out. A lot. Last week Katsuki told him to kill himself by throwing himself off a roof, and now--this? His muscles are bigger, his skin is darker, and his hands are calloused and scarred. It’s like he vanished, spent a few years in a war zone, and then came back. -He asks Katsuki questions to prove he’s Kacchan, and to see if this isn’t just--something. Once he proves himself, he just--he doesn’t know what to think. Also, why the hell is he speaking with an accent? -Initially, Japanese is hard for Katsuki to read after coming back, since he hasn’t really used it in...uh. A few years. He manages okay, but...speaking and responding in his native language almost feels foreign to him. Nobody but Izuku, Inko, and Bakugou’s parents really seem to notice. -He even is kinder to his mother, and calls her Mom, because again, he realizes just how much he missed everyone. -Izuku sees Katsuki talk to Ramza in Ivalice tongue, and he isn’t sure what to think. He finds the newfound courage to ask, but he gets some really weird (but true, in hindsight) answers. -Katsuki is very reluctant to tell Deku about Ivalice, less for distrust reasons, and more for ‘I’m not sure if he’ll laugh or stalk me and I kinda don’t want to find out’ reasons. -Katsuki is still salty that he wasn’t able to kill one of the minor FFT villains, who was a canon rapist (no really; one of your party members was raped by this dude) before one of the other FFT villains did it for him. Yeah, he knows that heroes don’t kill, but it’s hard not to get his brain out of the old Ivalice mindset -- kill or be killed. Trusting strangers is hard for this reason (well, that and anyone could be a Church spy, and when you’re fighting the Church...). Deku is easy, Ramza is easy, Alma is easy. His classmates? Not so much. He has to learn to trust them over time. -Ramza and Alma both end up having to acclimate to civilian life in Japan, learning Japanese under Baku and blaming an errant quirk for their arrival. Dimensional travel wouldn’t exactly be out of the question considering the nature of quirks, but the truth of their existence (and magic) is kept very hush-hush. Out of the UA staff, only Recovery Girl and All Might really knows that Baku can use magic, and that’s because they caught him healing Deku after his fight with Todoroki during the sports’ festival. To utilize their particular talents, Alma ends up working in support and Ramza ends up training to be a Pro-Hero, becoming a sidekick midway through Baku’s first year at UA. -Deku is admittedly super suspicious of Ramza at first. Not just because he appeared out of the blue (he’s close to Kacchan, but he’s never heard of him? He’s known him all his life!), but because he’s a grown-ass man who is clearly throwing longing looks at a minor. He can’t prove his suspicions, but he thinks the situation is pretty sketch, and tends to follow them when he sees them alone together in hopes to catch Ramza in the act if he does something unsavory.

-During one of these spy sessions, he realizes that the two have serious history. And speak a shared language. But what is going on between them, Deku doesn’t know. So he tries to...investigate. A little. It proves fruitless. At first.

-He notices things, though. A white-and-red cloak (for non FF fans, this is the typical garb a white mage wears) in his gym bag. A white staff that vibrates softly when he touches it, also in his gym bag. The occasional weird calls to Recovery Girl with said gym bag after afternoon training. -There was also that time when, while fighting alongside Baku during an exam, he starts healing rapidly without warning (Regen was cast on him). -He finally puts two-and-two together...on accident, really. Initially, he sees Fairy (the only summon that Baku can even try doing without raising suspicion) as she fluttered above him to speed up his healing. She was muttering something about a “Master Katsuki” under her breath. He thinks he’s dreaming at first, but when he talks to Uraraka about it, Kacchan visibly stiffens up in the desk in front of him. He’s suspicious, but he’s figured it out now. -Once he figures it out, Deku won’t stop with the questions. I mean, holy hell Kacchan, when could you do any of that, how did he do it, and why did he have to smack him with that staff whenever he did something reckless (even if his wounds somehow healed afterwards)? He learns the truth, and always asks to hear stories about his adventures. At first, Baku says no, but relents after some stubborn insisting. At first, he only tells the far less bad stories. The funny ones (like the petty rivalry he had with Mustadio -- a major character in FFT proper -- over who was the better shot, or the time he and Ramza played wingman for him so he could score a date with the lovely Holy Knight they were partied with). As their school career moved on, he started telling the darker stories. -Also it’s nice that Deku knows he can use magic, because now if he mutters too much, Katsuki can cast a silence spell on him to shut the nerd up. Even though he’s grown, he can still be a petty little shit. -The two don’t become a proper couple until post-UA, after someone in Ivalice ends up summoning Ramza, Alma, Deku, and himself to Ivalice in an attempt to re-gather the Zodiac Stones to finish what the Church started. Katsuki had the Aries stone, he gave Deku the Cancer stone during their time at UA, and Ramza and Alma had the rest. -Deku is not well-acclimated to Ivalice. He has to get a crash-course on the language, learn how to not get his shit stolen or get them killed, and have his trusting nature curbed at every turn. He’s still a reckless shit, so he throws himself into bad situations all the time to save others, which nearly gets them killed more than once. -He ends up taming a red chocobo, though he is awful at riding them. If Baku had a gil for every time Deku fell off the poor bird when he was learning how to ride him, he’d be the richest fuck in all of Ivalice. -Deku and Ramza both order milk at the pubs they go to. Katsuki finds this hilarious, and sticks with his trusted honey mead. -Meeting the old friends that Kacchan had told stories about but he’d never met in person was a trip and a half, and made him more than a little jealous at how casual they were with each other.
